- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with I R Radio. Well, we've mentioned it before. This
- 0:09Speaker 1: is the Almost Famous podcast and we're crossovering with our
- 0:13Speaker 1: O G podcast. Yes, Trista Sutter and Bob Guinea are
- 0:17Speaker 1: joining Ashley and I today for a very special episode
- 0:21Speaker 1: about this upcoming season of The Bachelor at Trista and
- 0:24Speaker 1: Bob Welcome, Thank you, Thanks, Hi guys, so thank hi.
- 0:29Speaker 1: So first, let's talk about your new podcast. You guys
- 0:31Speaker 1: have been doing it for about two months now. It
- 0:33Speaker 1: is the Almost Famous o G. The o G s
- 0:37Speaker 1: What has been your favorite episode thus far? People are
- 0:41Speaker 1: loving it. We see the most positive feedback about you guys.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Oh that's awfully nice. I gotta say. I will say this.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I um, I went into it, I will say with
- 0:53Speaker 1: I was trying to manage my expectations, you know, like, oh,
- 0:55Speaker 1: it'll be fun. Tristan I are, you know, great friends,
- 0:58Speaker 1: and this would be awesome. But it's turned out to
- 1:00Speaker 1: be way more than I expected it to be. It's
- 1:01Speaker 1: really nice of you to say that. I mean, I
- 1:03Speaker 1: I've loved it. I have a very difficult time picking
- 1:06Speaker 1: a favorite episode because I literally look forward to it
- 1:08Speaker 1: every week. You know, so I'm setting my clock to
- 1:11Speaker 1: it every week. So and so is Blake about you.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I would have to share the sentiment. I've loved it. Um,
- 1:26Speaker 1: you know, I'm what I'm actually I'm looking forward to
- 1:30Speaker 1: an episode is having Ryan on because we haven't. I
- 1:33Speaker 1: haven't been able to have Ryan on, and he as
- 1:35Speaker 1: as well as Bob and I are. He's an o G.
- 1:38Speaker 1: You know he was there in the beginning. Is come
- 1:42Speaker 1: on Bob? Yeah, well, I mean not Bob, and he
- 1:49Speaker 1: and Bob were the same because they were on. We're
- 1:53Speaker 1: both courting Trista. I just from that, You're right, I
- 1:58Speaker 1: thought that you guys I have virgin story? He did? Yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 1: have you all found it? Has any of the guests
- 2:08Speaker 1: that you've asked, because you've had some tremendous guests, uh
- 2:11Speaker 1: from past seasons. Are they ever shocked that they're getting
- 2:14Speaker 1: asked to be back on a podcast about the Bachelor
- 2:18Speaker 1: Bachelorette or they do they? Does it seem like they've
- 2:20Speaker 1: been asked all, you know, since their times twenty years ago.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I'd say they're shocked so much. Yeah, I mean, you know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: it's funny. We had Andrew Firestone and UH and Jason Jims.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I know, and Andrew, you know, is a dinosaur much
- 2:37Speaker 1: like me, whereas trist of course is a lovely pterodacty
- 2:41Speaker 1: of that time. You know, Andrew, Andrew has always been
- 2:46Speaker 1: such a blast, and he doesn't he doesn't do a
- 2:48Speaker 1: lot of this kind of stuff. So for him to
- 2:49Speaker 1: come on and do it was a great thing. And
- 2:51Speaker 1: of course Masnick is such a joy. And we found
- 2:54Speaker 1: out something really funny though. You know. Mesnick told us
- 2:57Speaker 1: that he was hanging out with some younger, you know
- 3:01Speaker 1: era bachelor people and they called him, you know, they
- 3:04Speaker 1: were like, oh, you're like the godfather of of and
- 3:06Speaker 1: I'm like, well, then, what is it? The grandfather, the
- 3:10Speaker 1: great grandfather? Yeah, exactly. That's where it gets worse because
- 3:15Speaker 1: I have been called the grandfather or the grandmother. Sorry,
- 3:19Speaker 1: not the grandfather. I've been called the grandmother. When people
- 3:21Speaker 1: have you know, gotten a little mixed up with very
- 3:25Speaker 1: godmother grandmother calling us great? I like that. You guys.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Ben is such an old soul and like he wants
- 3:39Speaker 1: to host you know, the old people Bachelor edition. Do
- 3:44Speaker 1: you guys feel like he belongs more with like your
- 3:47Speaker 1: bachelor generation or his own? And Ben, do you which
- 3:51Speaker 1: one do you feel like you belong to Well, I
- 3:54Speaker 1: want to say I've never been called the old people
- 3:56Speaker 1: Bachelor Edition until today. The show isn't generation. Yeah, I know.
- 4:02Speaker 1: The new show that's coming out is going to have
- 4:04Speaker 1: you show, uh yeah, dating, And I've been begging. I
- 4:10Speaker 1: haven't asked for anything in the years since my time,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and I've been begging to get an interview to host
- 4:16Speaker 1: that show. I think it would be a blast. Okay,
- 4:20Speaker 1: only I'll vote for you. I'll write Brooke cars in
- 4:24Speaker 1: right now. If we can do it together, let's do it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm all in that. Yeah, I'll be all in as
- 4:32Speaker 1: long as I get to see the behind the scenes
- 4:36Speaker 1: and watch these people fall in love. I would invite
- 4:40Speaker 1: everybody to join me. I just want to be there. Yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 1: I want to be there. That would be great for
- 4:45Speaker 1: it too. I vote for you too. But back to
- 4:50Speaker 1: the question, which which generation does benfit Betteran? You know
- 4:54Speaker 1: I have to I have to agree with you or
- 4:57Speaker 1: I think you said this, Ashley. I've think you are
- 5:00Speaker 1: an old soul. Ben. I can totally see you hanging
- 5:04Speaker 1: out with the seniors and they love you. They love
- 5:08Speaker 1: you Ben diagram. Ben is in the middle. He's the
- 5:12Speaker 1: one that intersects, but he does. He does smack in
- 5:18Speaker 1: the middle. You you're young enough to where you can't
- 5:22Speaker 1: take that like personally that you're like you're like being
- 5:26Speaker 1: like for me, I might I think I'm more on
- 5:30Speaker 1: the seniors because I am almost a senior. I am too,
- 5:38Speaker 1: is the only official senior on the call. Um. I
- 5:41Speaker 1: really started getting like a rpmail last year. And who
- 5:47Speaker 1: does that? You know? I will say that none of
- 5:50Speaker 1: you really fit that mold to me, because you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: I'm old and I look at you all as children.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I'm this kid. Here's here's my response to it. Here's
- 6:02Speaker 1: the thing that makes me feel better. It's a weird time.
- 6:05Speaker 1: You know, Ashley was on the show before me, So
- 6:07Speaker 1: if I am in you know, the if we're breaking
- 6:11Speaker 1: up generations of Bachelor's now and Bachelorette, then Nashley was
- 6:15Speaker 1: on before me. Here's the thing that does make me
- 6:17Speaker 1: feel better. Thirty three years old. I just saw the
- 6:20Speaker 1: list of people who are coming out for this next
- 6:22Speaker 1: season in the bachelotte which we're gonna get into talking about.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I would be like still kind of one of the younger's,
- 6:28Speaker 1: like kind of right in the middle. Now, if I
- 6:30Speaker 1: went on the show today, which is yeah, which is
- 6:33Speaker 1: wild to me. You know that you had people in
- 6:35Speaker 1: thirty thirty seven. We're going on this season, which I
- 6:39Speaker 1: think is great. I'm really excited to see that. But
- 6:43Speaker 1: it's weird though, considering how long how long ago it
- 6:47Speaker 1: was when I was the Bachelor, it feels like that
- 6:50Speaker 1: I would still be like just entering into that I
- 6:52Speaker 1: feel Ashley, I joked about it last time. I'm sure
- 6:55Speaker 1: you guys feel the same way. And we do need
- 6:57Speaker 1: to get into this season the Bachelorette um. But if
- 7:00Speaker 1: they asked me to go on the show right now
- 7:02Speaker 1: as the Bachelor, there's zero chance I could do it,
- 7:05Speaker 1: mostly because I don't think I could stay awake, Like
- 7:07Speaker 1: I just don't think there's any possibility that midnight, Like
- 7:12Speaker 1: if you know, those are two o'clock in the morning nights,
- 7:14Speaker 1: over and over and over again. Early Yeah, there's just
- 7:19Speaker 1: no I was literally just thinking about this the other day,
- 7:24Speaker 1: and I'm with you on that one. Ben and Ashley
- 7:25Speaker 1: I think can probably relate better with me right now.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Trista can look back and remember this. But with kids
- 7:31Speaker 1: this age and three, um, I'm in bed at eight o'clock,
- 7:35Speaker 1: you like, literally and then I'll wake up at like
- 7:39Speaker 1: midnight to come back to my bed, and then my
- 7:43Speaker 1: three year old comes to get me at like two
- 7:44Speaker 1: and four. So yeah, there's there's no way in and
- 7:48Speaker 1: no chance that I would be able to get through
- 7:49Speaker 1: the night, especially like we had one day in particularly,
- 7:52Speaker 1: we started off as on a private jet to Vegas,
- 7:55Speaker 1: then came back and then I had to do like
- 7:57Speaker 1: my I M T S or whatever I T M
- 8:00Speaker 1: I am and then I boarded a hot air balloon
- 8:07Speaker 1: at like five am, Yeah, to catch the sun rise,
- 8:10Speaker 1: you know, because it's always like so romantic and awesome
- 8:14Speaker 1: to go on a hot air balloon at five am
- 8:16Speaker 1: when you've been up till two People love people love
- 8:20Speaker 1: them brutal. Alright, we have a lot to talk about today.
- 8:24Speaker 1: We have a new season of The Bachelor at coming up.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Ashley and I have been able to do a party.
- 8:31Speaker 1: It's a party for us leading up to this season
- 8:34Speaker 1: The Bachelor, because it's been a while since we've had
- 8:35Speaker 1: a season. We're very excited for this season. Um, we've
- 8:38Speaker 1: had mixed emotions. Just let you guys know on what
- 8:41Speaker 1: it this season could bring about. We don't really know.
- 8:44Speaker 1: There's just a lot of questions. Um, but we're we
- 8:48Speaker 1: are excited to have it back on our televisions, just
- 8:51Speaker 1: to throw it over to YouTube. How are you feeling
- 8:53Speaker 1: about this next season the bat of the Bachelorette with
- 8:56Speaker 1: two bachelorettes. Uh, just you know, spit all your thoughts here.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I love it. I love a change I love a
- 9:05Speaker 1: change up. We've been doing it, you know, they do
- 9:07Speaker 1: changeups kind of maybe every season, maybe other every other
- 9:12Speaker 1: season in little ways, I feel like, but I love
- 9:15Speaker 1: a changeup, especially because it keeps the franchise, It keeps
- 9:18Speaker 1: the show fresh, it keeps it going. Uh. I love
- 9:23Speaker 1: both of them. I think they're very different personalities, but
- 9:26Speaker 1: I think they really Uh, they seem to be great
- 9:31Speaker 1: friends and and I think that's kind of cool having
- 9:36Speaker 1: a friend there to go through the process. Even though
- 9:39Speaker 1: they're going through it at the same time and they're
- 9:42Speaker 1: doing the same thing, it will be stressful, but at
- 9:44Speaker 1: least they have each other, Like, that's super cool that
- 9:47Speaker 1: they have each other. I think. I agree. I like
- 9:51Speaker 1: the idea of it, um to a point, But then
- 9:55Speaker 1: my fear is that it will become one of those
- 9:58Speaker 1: things where oh no to friends fall in love with
- 10:00Speaker 1: the same guy. Now what happens. That's the part I
- 10:04Speaker 1: don't look forward to. So I hope that that isn't
- 10:07Speaker 1: ye know. I hope they both kind of find their
- 10:09Speaker 1: own lanes early and you know, um, each of them,
- 10:13Speaker 1: you know, I haven't had a chance to meet them,
- 10:14Speaker 1: so I don't know them at all, but I would
- 10:17Speaker 1: guess that, you know, I would hope anyway that they
- 10:19Speaker 1: would find guys that were you know, different enough and
- 10:22Speaker 1: there wouldn't be any overlap or any tension. But we
- 10:25Speaker 1: all know the show a little better than that, right,
- 10:26Speaker 1: so there's got to be one overlap. I think they
- 10:29Speaker 1: do their best. Yes, let's go around in a circle
- 10:43Speaker 1: now and give our theories as to what we think
- 10:45Speaker 1: the format of this season is going to be with
- 10:47Speaker 1: two bachelorettes. I will start. I think that they are
- 10:52Speaker 1: going to have the guys come in on night one.
- 10:55Speaker 1: They're going to give him a couple of bachelor weeks,
- 10:57Speaker 1: which we all know that early all on Bachelor Week
- 11:01Speaker 1: equals about three days um, to figure out who they
- 11:05Speaker 1: want to date full term. And I think the guys,
- 11:13Speaker 1: I think, do we think I'll open it up to
- 11:16Speaker 1: the committee here, do we think girls are going? So
- 11:20Speaker 1: I think they're give him a couple of weeks, so
- 11:22Speaker 1: let's say a total of like ten days, and then
- 11:25Speaker 1: somebody in my head my theory of the format, somebody's
- 11:29Speaker 1: going to have to decide who they're going to date. Now,
- 11:33Speaker 1: are the guys going to decide what girls they want
- 11:35Speaker 1: to date or the girls going to decide the guys
- 11:37Speaker 1: that are going to date? Event inevitably, somebody is going
- 11:41Speaker 1: to be hurt because like somebody's like, oh, you want
- 11:44Speaker 1: to date me, Well I want to date that person. Yeah,
- 11:48Speaker 1: well okay. So my thought is in seeing uh following
- 11:54Speaker 1: Gabby and Rachel on Instagram, and I think Rachel just
- 11:58Speaker 1: did a poster a story saying this is now Gabby,
- 12:03Speaker 1: what did she say? This my Instagram is now like
- 12:08Speaker 1: a Gabby fans best account or something like that. Yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 1: it was like it was something like that. And so
- 12:14Speaker 1: clearly they are still getting along, right, so they're still friends.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So so I think there's probably some truth to the
- 12:21Speaker 1: fact that they do separate and have them kind of
- 12:26Speaker 1: do two shows in one if you will, um at
- 12:29Speaker 1: the same time, which logistically is a freaking nightmare for
- 12:33Speaker 1: the producers, I'm sure. According to Nick, who has insider dets.
- 12:37Speaker 1: He'sa that it was hell quote quote to produce because
- 12:42Speaker 1: it pretty much is like two seasons totally. I mean,
- 12:47Speaker 1: I can't even imagine the logistical nightmares, you know, having
- 12:51Speaker 1: to plan to dates at the same time having they're
- 12:54Speaker 1: going to have to hire a whole other staff of
- 12:58Speaker 1: camera guys. Yeah, true, yeah, you know historically, I mean,
- 13:02Speaker 1: if you think about it the last time, I'm not
- 13:05Speaker 1: thinking the last night. So I'm sure there's been another
- 13:07Speaker 1: time like this, But I don't know if you guys
- 13:08Speaker 1: remember the year they had two Bachelor's and then all
- 13:11Speaker 1: the ladies showed up and then they had to choose
- 13:14Speaker 1: which guy and that form did not work. It was
- 13:18Speaker 1: the same as Caitlin. It was Caitlin season. They did
- 13:20Speaker 1: the bachelorret you guys Byron Velvic and Byron and yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 1: how am I just hearing about this now? I feel
- 13:29Speaker 1: like a horrible, horrible hopeful we're not knowing this? What
- 13:34Speaker 1: was it? This is what I'm saying, there are two
- 13:37Speaker 1: separate like generations, because I feel like the other one
- 13:42Speaker 1: started maybe like wal Brad Walmack part two, Like once
- 13:46Speaker 1: he started going around, that's when a whole other audience
- 13:49Speaker 1: started watching. Maybe like Ali season around then, and I
- 13:55Speaker 1: know all that true via, but I know nothing before that,
- 13:58Speaker 1: and I feel by making on behalf of a lot
- 14:01Speaker 1: of people out there. So what year was this give
- 14:05Speaker 1: me deeds? I don't know the exact year, but I
- 14:08Speaker 1: would say it's probably three years, maybe not too much
- 14:11Speaker 1: more than that, just a right, uh, maybe three years
- 14:13Speaker 1: after me. Because Mary Delgado, who was a finalist on
- 14:17Speaker 1: my season, ended up winning being the winner of the
- 14:21Speaker 1: Byron Valvic season. I think there's more more time because
- 14:25Speaker 1: I think, yeah, because I remember her coming back on
- 14:27Speaker 1: Byron season. It ended up being Byron season, even though
- 14:30Speaker 1: there were two guys to start um, she was kind
- 14:33Speaker 1: of like labeled as the old girl, you know, like
- 14:36Speaker 1: she was she was significantly older than I feel like
- 14:41Speaker 1: the other girls who were cast, and so I think
- 14:44Speaker 1: I think there was probably more time. But you're right, right,
- 14:48Speaker 1: I get this all the time. After my season, people
- 14:52Speaker 1: kind of stopped watching, at least like our generation, if
- 14:55Speaker 1: we're going to call it our generation, the O G s,
- 14:59Speaker 1: And they maybe picked it back up later, maybe even
- 15:03Speaker 1: like Ben ben season or JoJo's season, Caitlin, I don't know,
- 15:08Speaker 1: but in that time in between, I think you know,
- 15:12Speaker 1: there are a lot of Bachelor's. We had the Renzo on, Um,
- 15:16Speaker 1: there was Jake Pavelka. Uh. Who were the other people
- 15:20Speaker 1: that we've recently talked Andy, Travis Stork. Yeah, like right
- 15:28Speaker 1: in there that I feel like, you know, I didn't
- 15:31Speaker 1: have as much viewership, and a lot of people, like
- 15:34Speaker 1: you're saying Ashley started watching a little bit later. So
- 15:38Speaker 1: there was a time period where the Bachelorette was even
- 15:43Speaker 1: canceled and they brought it back, which is why we
- 15:46Speaker 1: have an uneven number of bachelor and bachelorettes significantly. Um,
- 15:52Speaker 1: but like, yeah, I've never known. I never heard that.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Oh you guys, that's because we're on Bachelor's season. What
- 15:59Speaker 1: now the Bachelors. I don't think it was ever because
- 16:02Speaker 1: it was canceled. I think it was just because they
- 16:05Speaker 1: red lighted more bachelors and we had four in the
- 16:09Speaker 1: can red lighted green. Yeah. Right, there's that that makes
- 16:17Speaker 1: it uneven too. But I do believe there's a couple
- 16:19Speaker 1: of years where it was like they had done more
- 16:22Speaker 1: Bachelor's very sure, yeah, and there wasn't around for a second. Okay,
- 16:28Speaker 1: but like back to this, Okay, Ben, there there was
- 16:32Speaker 1: a time where the girls got to pick between two bachelors,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and nobody remembers this. Why wasn't brought up UM when
- 16:40Speaker 1: Caitlin and Britt came about I'm sure it was like mentioned. Yeah,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm sure it was mentioned. But I think we have
- 16:47Speaker 1: if you look at the study, which I mean I've
- 16:50Speaker 1: I've spoken every year. I speak at this course UM
- 16:54Speaker 1: at DePaul University that studies the Bachelor and Bachelorette and
- 16:58Speaker 1: how it affects culture society. Uh, they didn't have segments
- 17:03Speaker 1: on love You every year I speak to it, or
- 17:05Speaker 1: I guess every semester whenever there's a new class. I
- 17:08Speaker 1: just joined on and I speak to this class. I'm
- 17:10Speaker 1: sure they listened to this podcast, so I'm sure now
- 17:12Speaker 1: they'd reach out to all of you. It's really fun
- 17:15Speaker 1: because they study UM in academia. The effects of this
- 17:20Speaker 1: show on society and the effects of this show on
- 17:22Speaker 1: the people, I think if you looked into it, I
- 17:25Speaker 1: do think the Bachelor Bachelor has lasted long enough where
- 17:28Speaker 1: there is a distinct, almost difference between age groups that
- 17:33Speaker 1: watched UH at the beginning and age groups that watch
- 17:36Speaker 1: in the middle, and then age groups that picked it
- 17:38Speaker 1: back up at the end. I don't think people really
- 17:41Speaker 1: associate as much. I think they I mean honestly, and
- 17:44Speaker 1: I think there's a few bachelorettes where people like say,
- 17:47Speaker 1: oh yeah, I recognize that name. I think there's a
- 17:49Speaker 1: few bachelors from you know, the beginning that people be like,
- 17:53Speaker 1: oh yeah, those are bachelor's. But there's a lot of
- 17:54Speaker 1: people that people forget because I just think it's a
- 17:57Speaker 1: it was a different time and it's a try viewing
- 18:01Speaker 1: a different type of viewership. I mean, you know trist
- 18:04Speaker 1: this season. In my season, I remember seeing something about
- 18:06Speaker 1: it that had like twenty six million viewers a week,
- 18:08Speaker 1: and you know, because ours kind of rolled right into
- 18:11Speaker 1: each other from a viewing perspective, and now, I mean
- 18:14Speaker 1: now I think a big, big viewing week is like,
- 18:17Speaker 1: you know, eight or nine million viewers. Yeah, but the
- 18:21Speaker 1: social media impact is so much more because we didn't
- 18:24Speaker 1: have social media back then. So it's like if you know,
- 18:26Speaker 1: you're watching friends and it rolls that, you know, whatever,
- 18:29Speaker 1: It's like, you know, the viewership back then was so
- 18:31Speaker 1: much more. Um it was just so much greater. But
- 18:34Speaker 1: I think the um what you called the interaction or
- 18:38Speaker 1: or whatever that might be now, you know, is so
- 18:40Speaker 1: much different to those different revenue streams for the network
- 18:43Speaker 1: and the production company don't make money on this show.
- 18:46Speaker 1: That's why, you know, when you talk to people on
- 18:48Speaker 1: the inside, Hey, everybody thinks the show is gonna get
- 18:50Speaker 1: canceled because there's two million people tuning in now and
- 18:53Speaker 1: the seasons don't. Well know, they figure out a way
- 18:56Speaker 1: to evolve and still make money on this show, uh,
- 19:01Speaker 1: even though it has changed drastically. Well, yeah, I mean,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I think that's a great point to bring up that
- 19:06Speaker 1: we have had two bachelors. I think we're gonna see
- 19:09Speaker 1: two bachelors again. Uh, and in the upcoming seasons. I
- 19:13Speaker 1: think that's gonna be a thing I do wonder though, Trista,
- 19:17Speaker 1: especially from you, Jason Tartick. We've mentioned it now many times.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I think it's one of the most interesting things to
- 19:24Speaker 1: watch as we watch the next couple of months unfold.
- 19:27Speaker 1: He has a theory that during the filming of the show,
- 19:30Speaker 1: it would be really easy because I'm assuming they are
- 19:33Speaker 1: talking with each other about their love lives, and they
- 19:35Speaker 1: are discussing the drama that's ensuing, and they're kind of
- 19:39Speaker 1: balancing ideas off of each other. We have quotes from
- 19:42Speaker 1: the two of them saying they're still best friends, um,
- 19:45Speaker 1: that they really like each other. Jason, though, says, hey,
- 19:48Speaker 1: that's all great, but it's gonna be harder no matter
- 19:51Speaker 1: who you are post show, when the followers come and
- 19:56Speaker 1: go and when the opportunities are different for the two bachelorette.
- 20:01Speaker 1: If you could put yourself back in the place of
- 20:03Speaker 1: being the bachelorette and then you're sharing that stage with somebody,
- 20:08Speaker 1: do you think it would be hard post show to
- 20:10Speaker 1: share that spotlight. Maybe not for you personally, but could
- 20:12Speaker 1: you see it for somebody? Yeah? I mean, it so
- 20:16Speaker 1: hard for somebody. So it's interesting that you bring that up, because, Um,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I don't know if we were talking about this the
- 20:24Speaker 1: last episode, Bob, but Ryan we were. We were talking
- 20:28Speaker 1: about why people break up. Yeah, it was last episode
- 20:31Speaker 1: Bachelor Breakups. And one of the things that Ryan had
- 20:34Speaker 1: said was, you know it was it was hard for him.
- 20:37Speaker 1: He had to go back to work and for the
- 20:39Speaker 1: three months I was going to the super Bowl in
- 20:42Speaker 1: the Playboy mansion and like Oprah and doing all these
- 20:45Speaker 1: crazy fun things, and he can't even tell people that
- 20:49Speaker 1: he's engaged, like he's having to like swallow it all
- 20:52Speaker 1: and and hear about all these really exciting things, and
- 20:56Speaker 1: mind you, yes, he's more introverted and you know, maybe
- 21:00Speaker 1: didn't wouldn't have liked those things as much as I.
- 21:03Speaker 1: But of course the super Bowl he would have died
- 21:05Speaker 1: to go to. So um So, I think that it
- 21:09Speaker 1: was hard for him, and we brought up that and
- 21:13Speaker 1: I think still it's I mean, to this day, even
- 21:15Speaker 1: though in interviews he doesn't want to talk, so I
- 21:19Speaker 1: end up talking more than him to kind of protect
- 21:21Speaker 1: him from having to talk um or share anything, because
- 21:25Speaker 1: he is more private than I as well. Um So,
- 21:29Speaker 1: I think that for him and for so many other people,
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'm sure I would. I would wager that a majority
- 21:39Speaker 1: of the breakups that happen in Bachelor Nation are from
- 21:45Speaker 1: the uh inequality, the imbalance in attention you know if
- 21:52Speaker 1: you will. And I think that's hard because especially, you know,
- 21:56Speaker 1: for a lot of people. I'm not going to say
- 21:58Speaker 1: just guys, because girls have egos too, but I think
- 22:01Speaker 1: it will be hard. Now you asked what I would,
- 22:05Speaker 1: um if it would have been for for me, would
- 22:08Speaker 1: I have been able to you know? Would I have
- 22:12Speaker 1: been okay with that and feel like we would have
- 22:14Speaker 1: still been successful? I think so because our emma was
- 22:19Speaker 1: let's move to veil, let's focus on our relationship, you know,
- 22:23Speaker 1: kind of bottom line. And I to this day think
- 22:26Speaker 1: that that was one of the major reasons why we
- 22:30Speaker 1: have been successful, is that we made that very conscious
- 22:34Speaker 1: decision to focus on us and kind of get away
- 22:38Speaker 1: from the whirlwind a little bit. You know. We still
- 22:41Speaker 1: we still did some fun things, but um but I
- 22:45Speaker 1: think that even if there had been another bachelorette, I
- 22:50Speaker 1: think we could have done it. It will be very hard,
- 22:53Speaker 1: especially because social media. The comparisons have always existed in
- 22:58Speaker 1: our world. I mean, who didn't grow up and compare
- 23:01Speaker 1: yourself to your friend who was you know, has more
- 23:04Speaker 1: money and going on these trips and that, you know whatever.
- 23:07Speaker 1: We all com have always compared ourselves to other people.
- 23:10Speaker 1: But social media makes it that much more, um difficult,
- 23:16Speaker 1: and I think it it will be very difficult for them,
- 23:20Speaker 1: But hopefully they have really good head on heads on
- 23:23Speaker 1: their shoulders and their friendship can sustain them through it. Ben,
- 23:37Speaker 1: were you insinuating like the girls social media followers and
- 23:40Speaker 1: them having to like compete against each other there, because
- 23:44Speaker 1: I think it could be a thing. I mean, yeah,
- 23:47Speaker 1: it's you know, it's truly if you look at those numbers,
- 23:52Speaker 1: it's gonna suck because it's going to happen. They're not
- 23:54Speaker 1: gonna be equal right now. They're not equal, Yeah, and
- 23:58Speaker 1: it means that, I mean, if we're going by the
- 24:00Speaker 1: numbers right now, that like Gabby's going to be looked
- 24:02Speaker 1: at as the more popular one, and then like Rachel's
- 24:05Speaker 1: going to look at that and be like, why do
- 24:07Speaker 1: people like her more than me? It's more of a
- 24:09Speaker 1: direct competition between the two of them as far as likability.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Then most bachelorettes need to deal with because like every year,
- 24:19Speaker 1: like the viewership is going to change and there's gonna
- 24:21Speaker 1: be people that resonate with others. And I think it's
- 24:23Speaker 1: different when it's year to year, but when you're on
- 24:25Speaker 1: the same season and you have a direct comparison, I
- 24:29Speaker 1: that's gonna be a lot for their egos, just like
- 24:34Speaker 1: their overall like mental health. I feel yeah, I was.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I was gonna say when I did trist this season, Um,
- 24:40Speaker 1: Jamie blythe and I Jamie was another guy that was honest.
- 24:43Speaker 1: We did all this pressed together. I mean it was
- 24:45Speaker 1: kind of crazy, the the amount that we were doing
- 24:48Speaker 1: at that time. And I loved it. I loved having
- 24:51Speaker 1: him as my buddy to do those things with. And
- 24:53Speaker 1: it was great to have a partner and it took
- 24:56Speaker 1: away some of the anxiety and you know, all that
- 24:58Speaker 1: kind of stuff. But you're right, that was also before
- 25:01Speaker 1: social media, and so you know, I think I think
- 25:04Speaker 1: the social media aspect could be interesting because I mean,
- 25:07Speaker 1: we didn't have to face it the way that they
- 25:10Speaker 1: do now. I think it will depend on Rachel's state
- 25:14Speaker 1: of mind. Like, you know, if you're saying that that
- 25:16Speaker 1: Gabby is already I don't know how many followers they have,
- 25:19Speaker 1: but if Gabby is already kind of being pinned as
- 25:23Speaker 1: the most popular one, um, I think it'll just depend
- 25:27Speaker 1: and and Rachel seems to be pretty put together and
- 25:31Speaker 1: and that she's secure in who she is. So I
- 25:34Speaker 1: think it will just really come down to that. Um.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I don't see Gabby like throwing it in her face
- 25:41Speaker 1: at all, you know, definitely not, you know, And I
- 25:44Speaker 1: think that if Rachel is feeling sad about it, it's
- 25:47Speaker 1: simply put by saying like Gabby is the funny one,
- 25:51Speaker 1: you know, like look at She's the funny bachelor of
- 25:54Speaker 1: all time, and she has like the most followers of
- 25:57Speaker 1: all bachelorettes. I think I think that is just like
- 26:00Speaker 1: something to say to yourself, to be like, you know what,
- 26:03Speaker 1: I'm funny, I'm cute, but like that girl, she could
- 26:06Speaker 1: do stand up and that's why people love following. Yes,
- 26:10Speaker 1: did you see her post just now, um today or
- 26:13Speaker 1: maybe this week? It was like, this is proof that
- 26:16Speaker 1: our milkshake brings all the boys to the going to
- 26:21Speaker 1: be good and like, you know, let's not forsake the
- 26:24Speaker 1: idea that you know, possibly they're both with somebody and
- 26:27Speaker 1: your partner matters a ton post show, on that support
- 26:31Speaker 1: and on that guidance and that care and just letting
- 26:33Speaker 1: you know, hey, no matter what this whole thing was for,
- 26:36Speaker 1: like we ended up together and that's as much, that's
- 26:39Speaker 1: more than any amount of followers or money or attention
- 26:43Speaker 1: that's going to come in. So so true. Hey, Ashley,
- 26:46Speaker 1: I have a I want to ask all three of you.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Uh kind of been closing here, but I'm very interested
- 26:52Speaker 1: because Ashley really stays up on the show and contestants
- 26:57Speaker 1: and where they're at reality. Steve has claimed that there's
- 27:00Speaker 1: gonna be a fan favorite uh show up to this season. Uh,
- 27:05Speaker 1: and there's been no leaks or spoilers on who this
- 27:07Speaker 1: fan favorite will be. I want to hear your theories
- 27:11Speaker 1: on which fan favorite is going to show up this season,
- 27:14Speaker 1: what thoughts, and then I would love to hear why
- 27:16Speaker 1: you think that person would show up and if you
- 27:19Speaker 1: don't have an answer, I have a thought. Okay, well, yeah,
- 27:22Speaker 1: you go first. So Gabby is from Denver. I don't
- 27:27Speaker 1: know if they've ever met. You guys are good friends
- 27:29Speaker 1: with him? Blake? Maybe it's Blake? Why would why would
- 27:34Speaker 1: it be black? But Blake just went with a girlfriend,
- 27:37Speaker 1: yeah this last week? Oh never mind. Then I'm totally wrong.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I thought you were going to say Dean, and Dean
- 27:43Speaker 1: would have been so fun because he and Gabby used
- 27:46Speaker 1: to date. Wait a second, isn't Dean with Kaylin? But
- 27:50Speaker 1: he's with Kaylin and he would never do that, He
- 27:53Speaker 1: would never say yes. Such silliness. I feel like Nick
- 27:57Speaker 1: Viles making a comeback if he's in a relation show.
- 28:01Speaker 1: But I mean, I haven't seen him on the Bachelor
- 28:03Speaker 1: and a Florida, Florida. Okay, who's from Florida? So Rachel's
- 28:11Speaker 1: I think it's Honestly, here's my guess, um, just throw
- 28:14Speaker 1: out there. I think Connor, who was the cat guy. Uh,
- 28:19Speaker 1: I think he's going to come back. Yeah, I think
- 28:22Speaker 1: he's going to come back. Pilot Pete maybe, I think
- 28:27Speaker 1: wish Pilot Pete's out. We just did a hot topic
- 28:30Speaker 1: that he did not come to an agreement with production
- 28:35Speaker 1: on the number of cash alarms can take him to. Yea,
- 28:39Speaker 1: he was going to be on Bachelor Ed or Bachelor
- 28:41Speaker 1: in Paradise. He wasn't Paradise. So, Ashley, you're usually really
- 28:47Speaker 1: good at this. Um, I think it's super fun thing
- 28:50Speaker 1: to think about. Listeners. Uh, please write us your thoughts
- 28:53Speaker 1: at Ben and Ashley at I heart meaty dot com.
- 28:56Speaker 1: We want to hear from you. Who do you think
- 28:57Speaker 1: could go on this season? No spoilers, please just guess, Ashley,
- 29:01Speaker 1: though you're good at this game, who do you think
- 29:03Speaker 1: it could be? Well, everybody wants a joke that it
- 29:07Speaker 1: would be Blake Moyne's right, Yeah, it's not going to be.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I think it's going to be Bachelor's favorite favorite. Now
- 29:20Speaker 1: I have a shocking one that might spur your mind
- 29:22Speaker 1: a little bit. Okay, Zach Clark, that would be so good. Well,
- 29:28Speaker 1: but then again, it wouldn't be so good because I
- 29:31Speaker 1: don't want Taitia to have to see that. But for
- 29:35Speaker 1: they're broken up. I think he's no, he has no
- 29:39Speaker 1: interest in this. Okay, if anyone Matt grants sorry, Matt Um,
- 29:46Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, why am I blanking on the same
- 29:47Speaker 1: Matt and Rachel Um, Matt James, Matt James, thank you.
- 29:51Speaker 1: His best friend from New York, huge fan favorite, Tyler
- 29:56Speaker 1: wouldn't do it. What about Sean Beeth, I don't think it.
- 30:02Speaker 1: He's not a fan favorite. Are good? Point? Okay? Fair enough? Okay, okay, okay,
- 30:07Speaker 1: So I think I got it. Brad Well, mac Ben,
- 30:20Speaker 1: can you just let me think about this for a
- 30:22Speaker 1: couple of days and I'll get back to you on it,
- 30:25Speaker 1: hopefully before reality Steve spoils who it actually is. Yeah, yeah,
- 30:28Speaker 1: that's fair. Well. Hey again, the almost famous o G

- 30:41Speaker 1: a lot of people who watched the seasons before kind
- 30:45Speaker 1: of felt disconnected from the last few seasons and felt
- 30:48Speaker 1: like they didn't have a place within Bachelor Nation any anymore.
- 30:51Speaker 1: You're bringing that place to them and I think it's awesome.
