- 0:00We're talking about humility the other day and we're speaking
- 0:04about the fact that's a major challenge to be actually humble.
- 0:11And we were explaining that it's very natural for a regular good
- 0:15person to become arrogant without realizing it.
- 0:18And we'll see exactly how to remain humble and how to value
- 0:21humility on 4/4. Ukashuna dyke Dick.
- 0:25He analyze it in himself. Shih Tsuyaba Makshavao Mason
- 0:30Your mood is dependent on your mind and your actions.
- 0:36The main home of you being humble, the main place where you
- 0:41Moody rest is in your mind. First you have to be humble in
- 0:48your head and then you act like humble people.
- 0:53If you're not humble in your mind, you tell it and I might
- 0:59say you want to act humble, but you mind you're not really that
- 1:06way. That's the biggest sketch out
- 1:08there. If a guy in his mind does not
- 1:11think he needs to be him, he thinks he's gifted.
- 1:14He thinks he's deserving a lot of praise.
- 1:16He thinks he's a very important person.
- 1:19He's you know, I like how people who humble act.
- 1:23So I'm going to act and that humble way.
- 1:26I'm going to like I always talk about woke up my hands like this
- 1:29and bend over. I'm going to act humble.
- 1:31He's not only is that not your Moody, it's great arrogance.
- 1:35It's very arrogant to be a person who acts humble but does
- 1:40not think of himself humble on his mind.
- 1:42Why? Because the whole time you play
- 1:45it out, if in your mind you're not humble, what you are
- 1:48actually doing is you believe you deserve a lot.
- 1:51You believe you deserve credit and so the only building on your
- 1:54arrogance in your mind, tell me. When I see now the rabbi's that
- 1:58will click that, that's guess. No, we are.
- 2:02You know the the humble look. I don't feel like supposed to
- 2:05pray that way with. Your heads down and pray that
- 2:07way. Yes, as long as you're all
- 2:08behind you. You said who watch, right?
- 2:10Maybe it depends on this. It depends on if they get
- 2:13insulted all the time. It depends on if they get
- 2:18frustrated if someone doesn't treat them with respect.
- 2:21It depends on a lot of different indications.
- 2:23Just prove that they really care about the arrogance.
- 2:25If if they really are 100% humble, then that act is the
- 2:31finishing touch. If their action reflect their
- 2:34mind, great. But if their mind is thinking
- 2:37one thing and they're actually thinking a different thing,
- 2:39that's the worst. So only that first in those days
- 2:41is that. Well, you could tell over time
- 2:45who's really humble, who's not. Depends how much they're made.
- 2:48Even that sketch. A lot from my boys.
- 2:50He cut on a whole song and dance when they're coming for A cause.
- 2:53Yeah, you'd have to know, right? And.
- 2:55Then you have to know it's always, no, you can't just trust
- 2:58everything you see. All right, but but the idea is,
- 3:01is that if a person's arrogant and they want to act humble,
- 3:05what they're going to do is everything that they do in their
- 3:07mind is actually playing into more comfortable.
- 3:10We said the other day that a person who's arrogant in his
- 3:13mind and humble in his actions, his humility is another way of
- 3:17bringing in more cover because, you know, people love humility,
- 3:23leads to hand. People love humble people.
- 3:27So now this guy knows that and he's playing the double sketch.
- 3:30So he's saying to himself, I like Kavod.
- 3:34I like the way people treat me when they see me as a humble
- 3:37person. So therefore I'm going to act
- 3:41more humble to get more on her. It's a crazy way of thinking,
- 3:45but it's a reality. The point is, is that a person
- 3:47needs to develop you million their mind.
- 3:49Now how do you get the million in your mind?
- 3:51How do you build that sort of source in your head when the
- 3:54truth is you think you're gifted.
- 3:57So you have to go down the road of realizing no matter what
- 4:00gifts you or I have, they're all God-given.
- 4:03No matter what strengths we have, they're all orchestrated
- 4:06by Hashem. You can take any great person's
- 4:09life and make one small tweak and their entire story is
- 4:14different. They never got that job offer
- 4:17and everyone noticed for their talent.
- 4:19No one ever spoke to them at a certain age.
- 4:21And the one they picked up on the gifts, they were in the
- 4:24right family. Any of these things could
- 4:27completely switch their position in life.
- 4:29And a person who wants to be humble on his mind and he's
- 4:32gifted, he has to internalize that concept.
- 4:35And you and I have to internalize the concept part
- 4:37about makeup, which is at first I think to myself, how could I
- 4:41be humble? I have so many gifts.
- 4:43And then you think to yourself, how could you be arrogant?
- 4:46All you gifts and all your greatness would have.
- 4:49It's completely gifted by thought.
- 4:51It's totally and and it's orchestrated to be in a perfect,
- 4:53it's a perfect stall. You know, there are family, the
- 4:56right community, the right time, right?
- 4:59People need that kind of help today.
- 5:01All those things playing into your position and the moment a
- 5:04person loses sight of that is a very scary day because that's
- 5:08what they become. They think to themselves that
- 5:10they deserve a lot of credit. All you need to do in your mind
- 5:13as you look at such a person and remove one part of their success
- 5:19makeup one part. All right, I'll tell you what I
- 5:21mean. Should we?
- 5:27So, for example, if a person is a great speaker, all right, and
- 5:30they feel gifted, all you need to do is do you mind?
- 5:34What if they didn't have that power of speaking?
- 5:36What if they didn't have that voice or they didn't have that
- 5:38that unique trait, the whole thing's gone.
- 5:41Or how about if they have that crowd, maybe the crowd and
- 5:44certain times, you know, 20 years ago, the crowd would not
- 5:47have been open to these types of speeches gone or have out if
- 5:52they didn't have that family out.
- 5:55They didn't have that yeshiva upbringing also gone.
- 5:59They didn't have that wife who allows them to speak that way.
- 6:04Whatever gone, every single part of this person's makeup is 1000%
- 6:10God gifted and I could say something about myself for sure.
- 6:13It's easy for you to see mine because of the family, the
- 6:16background, that father, etcetera.
- 6:17But every person has to think that way.
- 6:19So I have a question that so. Then a person could internalize
- 6:23that is Hashem is about like something wrong with me.
- 6:27Hashem, they didn't get from me. Another person doesn't have that
- 6:29talent. Yeah.
- 6:30Yeah. Well, that other person, for
- 6:32starters, has it easier being humble.
- 6:35You're right and other you guys you want you want like going
- 6:38telling. Like I ran my oldies to call me.
- 6:42You know you're getting at the house.
- 6:43No one was hanging out with that kid, right?
- 6:46Right, right, right, right. The house and you're getting all
- 6:49I do have my kids all the time so.
- 6:50Yeah, and and it always we understood it right.
- 6:54You know, I could see a guy who. Has.
- 6:56The world and and sometimes it's so obvious to see how Hazid is
- 7:00right. Sure, he's.
- 7:01Just he's just flying out for attention or health short of
- 7:04something, you know, But sometimes the person himself
- 7:09while he's thinking that of, you know, trying to to put himself
- 7:13in a good head and maybe start to think, wow, is this how
- 7:17Kirsten like better helps himself?
- 7:20Like I'm not being gifted with anything.
- 7:22I don't have anything right. Maybe it's like when a person
- 7:27does that cash one good, you know, and and says, all right,
- 7:30maybe I need to work on this or that good doesn't know what.
- 7:33Happened like that, no. So how is our workplace?
- 7:35I think an arrogant person, person who's tempted to be
- 7:39arrogant because he has certain gifts he needs to downplay with
- 7:42these ways. Fine, Clear.
- 7:45It's only because of the money. It's only because of the this,
- 7:47because of that, because of the family fun.
- 7:49Simple. A person whose natural makeup is
- 7:53a little more low key. He doesn't need to think this
- 7:56way. He doesn't need to play.
- 7:57This is a little bit of a job that a person has them.
- 8:00The natural go to logic is not this.
- 8:03A natural go to logic is to think I am what I am and I am
- 8:07gifted for what I have. Where's the narcissist get into
- 8:09this? Narcissist, it's a little bit
- 8:12different. Narcissist, someone who's all
- 8:14about himself, all right, that don't fit anyway.
- 8:17That's it, by the way, it's all about themselves.
- 8:21What's so silly about a narcissist is that they they
- 8:24really overdid their whole existence and they think that,
- 8:28you know, maybe they have a certain gift, a certain talent,
- 8:30a certain thing that people like to have and be busy with them.
- 8:33They don't realize that people like you for your certain gifts
- 8:37and I'm just like, you don't like your overall makeup fully
- 8:39and they get a little too busy with themselves.
- 8:41That's a narcissist problem. That's how much your arrogant
- 8:44problem. Narcissist arrogant is a little
- 8:45different. Arrogant as someone believes
- 8:48that based on my existence, based on my talents, I should be
- 8:51at the center of everything. An artist is this I believe a
- 8:54little differently or maybe I translation work, but our sister
- 8:57just so busy with themselves and they need themselves to be a
- 9:00center of attention to drop different.
- 9:01One thinks he deserves it. One almost needs it all right
- 9:05now. Like I said, a person who has a
- 9:07makeup who's naturally humble. How's that He's a worker at a
- 9:11company. He's not an owner.
- 9:12He's not really worth let's have so much money.
- 9:15He's not so famous. He has a regular family all
- 9:19regular stuff that's perfectly fine.
- 9:21He did not need to think about this at all.
- 9:23That person, first of all, two things.
- 9:24One, he probably has an area which will attempt it to become
- 9:28arrogant Part 1. But Part 2, he doesn't even
- 9:31think this way. It's not the natural way of
- 9:33thinking. This is to take this is this is
- 9:36someone who wants to, you know, take themselves down to bring
- 9:41themselves back to noble. This is the mindset, and it's
- 9:43such an important, significant mindset that a person needs to
- 9:46have because you can all lose ourselves if we allow our
- 9:49arrogant Senate. And it's very dangerous, very
- 9:52risky. And any person could have become
- 9:54a person without worth anything. Also, there was a lot of money.
- 9:56A person who wasn't a rabbi because the rabbi, not a
- 9:59community leader, because president of the organization.
- 10:01All these things, you watch them and you say so.
- 10:04I remember that guy was such a nice guy.
- 10:06And then you see change, change a lot.
- 10:09How's that? Happen.
- 10:10Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
- 10:12It does, and well, how does it corrupt in this specific way?
- 10:15It gets in a person's hand. But the joke is, and we all know
- 10:19this joke. The joke is, is who we to be?
- 10:22Are you? You could take any person, I
- 10:24mean you could be any person I'm talking about from how many of
- 10:29you say what's up all the way down to anybody and you could
- 10:33change one part of their position and that position is
- 10:37gone. Now, the great rabbis knew not
- 10:39to be hierarchy position, so he was but the regular simple
- 10:44person who just sees his success and doesn't see the full
- 10:47picture. You could look at them and say I
- 10:49could poke a hole in that in five seconds, 5 seconds, right?
- 10:53You give me anyone. I tell you, you're not going to
- 10:55test any names on the recording, but give me anybody and it can
- 10:58be done to them, any present organization.
- 11:00Right. You really call a guy your
- 11:02father was an axe, you wouldn't be here, right.
- 11:04And then the guy, he might be, oh, I did it.
- 11:07So you might not say anything, but he performing now he's off.
- 11:10Yeah. When you do the daily, you have
- 11:14a car. Not today.
- 11:15I would sound good tomorrow. Not to share all right, I don't
- 11:19introduce that way, but the idea is yes, maybe 100% to that
- 11:24point. There are people and the the the
- 11:27most likable people in the world are the people who get this.
- 11:30The least like of people in the world are the people who don't.
- 11:32That's literally that's how far it goes.
- 11:34The guy who doesn't cash out to this point is somebody you don't
- 11:37want to be around because he keeps talking about I I, I I
- 11:40made this, I built this. I have way of doing things I
- 11:43broke you do and you may be very gifted and follows so loved so
- 11:47much. People used to talk about how
- 11:49they made their business all right, and their talents and
- 11:52their gifts and all these things.
- 11:53And he's to say that, you know, if anyone thinks too deeply, you
- 11:58can tell that it wasn't them. Who were they, fool?
- 12:00It wasn't them. It tell me not the person and
- 12:03the person has to realize that even though there are people who
- 12:04are very gifted in business, I'm not saying they're not.
- 12:06There are people who are very gifted at being rabbis.
- 12:08I'm not saying that they are very gifted, but still, even
- 12:11those talents and even those gifts, it came from a certain
- 12:14makeup, right? I'll tell you personally my own
- 12:18ability, whatever it may be, it's certain learning things.
- 12:21I went to certain yeshivas. They were very good at certain
- 12:23elements of learning. You work on it so far, but that
- 12:26thank God I went to those issues.
- 12:28I was this close to going to a different yeshiva.
- 12:30Devil would had upbringing. It would have been a story.
- 12:32All right, that's where your. Humbleness comes because you
- 12:34really. That's not be upset when any
- 12:36person has it see. Yeshiva so that I can get the
- 12:38best. Out of it, any person, any great
- 12:40person does see that but the truth that.
- 12:42There is thing that it happened to a person you had a woe when a
- 12:45young age. Yeah, you're handsome.
- 12:48You're athletic, you're wealthy. And you don't have to
- 12:51appreciate. You don't you don't get a chance
- 12:54to build yourself to be able to what happens now if one of these
- 12:58sticks gets pulled out of the, you know, out of the Lego you
- 13:03you full heart where a person who is just a regular guy,
- 13:07right? Not the best, not the worst,
- 13:08Something, you know, dismantle and you know, you can't really,
- 13:12the guy's solid. He can't can't really poke a
- 13:15hole in him because he was never here.
- 13:17Now that guy could build himself to superstar.
- 13:20If he does and remain the same person, yeah.
- 13:23So now his risk both ways. A guy who starts off right, a
- 13:26guy starts off everything, you know, Silva spoon the whole
- 13:29business. He's at risk because he can't
- 13:31handle any folds, can't any any anything changing his life.
- 13:34Oh, that's correct. Right.
- 13:36And he does have a built in arrogance because he does
- 13:38believe that he doesn't believe that this is how it works, is
- 13:42how life is and must just be. I have some sort of gifts.
- 13:45A guy who starts off with nothing.
- 13:47He does have the capability of becoming the best version of a
- 13:51person because when he builds himself up in every single way
- 13:54and he remains grounded. Awesome person.
- 13:56The best person to be around if. You're worse.
- 13:58If you learned. When you were poor.
- 14:02That's. What I will be remembered when
- 14:04you're well, but so let's. Suppose so there the logic is
- 14:07yes, if you learned that when you're poor, you'll be able to
- 14:09learn that when you're wealthy. That's what he says.
- 14:11So the logic over there is is it that it comes to challenge when
- 14:14a person leads to that would challenge the able to learn to
- 14:16that would ease as well. That's a little bit of a
- 14:18different point here. When you're talking against
- 14:20arrogance and person needs to remain the same person.
- 14:24You have to always remain grounded and you have to find
- 14:27ways to keep yourself grounded. If you're wealthy, you have to
- 14:29find ways to tell yourself wasn't me.
- 14:32If you're a rabbi and tell yourself I don't deserve the
- 14:35position, you're a president and you're just a famous person,
- 14:38very popular, whatever it may be, to find ways to keep
- 14:42yourself grounded. And you're doing it not only
- 14:44because you want to have good character, it's for your own
- 14:46sake. There's nothing more likable
- 14:48than the guy who remains low key.
- 14:50And there's nothing more detestable, literally than the
- 14:53person that becomes Arabic. That's how it works.
- 14:55I have a friend that's very low key and he's very, very well,
- 15:01well off and he and he and he has he's blessed in life.
- 15:03He knows it and he's so low key about it that that's why if
- 15:07that's why he really his love, but his love because of that
- 15:10even. There you go.
- 15:11And that's how it. Is and everyone knows him and
- 15:13everyone knows that trade about. So Messiah, I have to say, he's
- 15:17telling us over here, the only way to get to this point is not
- 15:20to act humble. You have to be humble in your
- 15:22mind. You have to stop and tell
- 15:24yourself, by the way, let's be very real.
- 15:26Humility is never a contrast to confidence.
- 15:29Never. It doesn't mean you don't
- 15:31believe you have gifts. It does not mean you don't
- 15:33believe that you know you have talents and business.
- 15:35You do. That's great.
- 15:37You do have talents. But you feel that I shine with
- 15:39your wings, and you feel that God put you in the right place,
- 15:42gave you those talents. Used to make the outcomes.
- 15:45It's that. Slow, I mean look at people it's
- 15:47100% Look at people who are very gifted and then they they longer
- 15:53they get sick or they get old or the world changes.
- 15:57You look at all these people, you say to yourself, obviously
- 15:59it's God-given right. If a tech guy lived in a
- 16:02different age, his his his worth, his his mental ability
- 16:07may not be applicable to today. Right.
- 16:09It'd be ahead of his time, right?
- 16:11Everyone His. Time his time.
- 16:12So it's just how the way war works.
- 16:14And you have to be very honest for yourself and to be a little
- 16:17bit, like I said, you know, vulnerable to be OK with the
- 16:20idea that you're not worth everything.
- 16:22You might, but you develop a certain like ability, a certain
- 16:26roundness, a certain sure, they give up.
- 16:34You develop a lot of anything to do.
- 16:37You develop a way. You develop a way that becomes
- 16:41so likable, but the core and the key is in your mind.
- 16:45If you don't let it rest in your mind and you're at risk of
- 16:49becoming arrogant. Person do not think like a lot
- 16:51of times we have this idea. They use the external and
- 16:54reflect the internal. That's true in general in this
- 16:57one specific media. It starts from within.
- 17:00It starts in your mind. If your mind is right, if your
- 17:04mind is humble, if your mind has the right approach in a good
- 17:08spot, if it's the opposite, cannot use the external actions
- 17:12as a way. Actually, that plays into more
- 17:14arrogance. That's who's telling you go stop
- 17:16this.
