- 2:16Speaker 1: Wednesday I told you all about Kaylie Goodwin and her disappearance.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Well today we have her mother, Casey Richardson on with
- 2:25Speaker 1: us and she is going to help give information and
- 2:30Speaker 1: Feather details into the disappearance of her daughter. Hi, Casey,
- 2:35Speaker 1: how are you.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Hi?
- 2:42Speaker 3: Nervous this morning? I'm okaying in there, yeah under the circumstance.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Well, I first want to thank you for taking all
- 2:56Speaker 1: the time you have to talk with me over the
- 2:59Speaker 1: last couple of weeks and for the message is going
- 3:01Speaker 1: back and forth. But I really want to say thank
- 3:04Speaker 1: you for taking time to come on today because I
- 3:08Speaker 1: can only imagine how difficult all of this is for you,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and I think it takes a lot of strength and
- 3:17Speaker 1: courage to be able to come on live on camera
- 3:20Speaker 1: and to talk about something that is horrific that's going
- 3:24Speaker 1: on in your life. So I just want to say
- 3:26Speaker 1: thank you for doing that.
- 3:30Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 3:32Speaker 1: So as we start, I wanted to have you tell
- 3:37Speaker 1: us about a little bit about Kaylee as a person.
- 3:41Speaker 1: What was she like?
- 3:46Speaker 3: Kayleie is because we don't know where she is, is
- 3:56Speaker 3: really both and free spirited. She would give her straight
- 4:04Speaker 3: off the back to anybody. If she didn't have anything,
- 4:06Speaker 3: she would give you her last am I glitching.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Nope, it breaks up every now and then, but it's
- 4:14Speaker 1: it's technology.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yes, okay, okay, So yeah, Kaylee, she if you were sad,
- 4:24Speaker 3: and even though she was had things going on and
- 4:27Speaker 3: were sad, she would make you laugh. She would try
- 4:30Speaker 3: to figure out a way to make you laugh. And like,
- 4:33Speaker 3: I don't know if you heard me, but she would
- 4:35Speaker 3: give the last of what she had to you if
- 4:37Speaker 3: you asked or needed it. She's a giver and and
- 4:48Speaker 3: she she loved her dog. She loved her dog, Tinkerbell.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Everybody can't stand that dog. She loved that dog. And
- 4:58Speaker 3: it's a little black Pommery. And the funny thing is
- 5:02Speaker 3: the dog, Tinkerrell died like two three, two weeks before
- 5:06Speaker 3: Kaylee got missing. Otherwise I don't think Kaylee would have
- 5:10Speaker 3: went off on that path. The dog really grounded her.
- 5:14Speaker 3: And it was missing for almost a week and a half,
- 5:17Speaker 3: two weeks from Baytown, and she found her and did
- 5:20Speaker 3: not give up. The search at all, was all over Facebook, everything,
- 5:24Speaker 3: and they found her in Highlands, those little from Baytown
- 5:30Speaker 3: and had like puncture rooms all underneath her neck. And
- 5:35Speaker 3: I had to make Kaylee go and put her in
- 5:43Speaker 3: down because she's, like I want to say, and.
- 5:50Speaker 2: She's so stubborn.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Kaylee's very stubborn, as we all know.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Now, what are some of your favorite memories of her.
- 6:09Speaker 2: There's so many, you know. I was discussing that with
- 6:11Speaker 2: her sister last night, and.
- 6:15Speaker 3: I want to say holidays. Because Kaylee was always the
- 6:19Speaker 3: sore thumb to stick out. She was always late. We
- 6:22Speaker 3: would always tease her, she's on Kaylee time.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Even if you called.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Her and let her know, she would be three hours
- 6:32Speaker 3: late to Thanksgiving, two Christmas, the kids are waiting. Kaylee's late,
- 6:38Speaker 3: and then she come last Christmas this past one, she
- 6:41Speaker 3: called her sister, Jamie, the twenty five year old that
- 6:44Speaker 3: I have. They are both sisters from you know, my
- 6:51Speaker 3: husband that passed away as well. Well, not not that
- 6:56Speaker 3: she did, but we don't know. She she called Jamie and.
- 7:02Speaker 2: She was supposed to be at Christmas. What are y'all doing? Oh?
- 7:06Speaker 1: I was scratching my nose.
- 7:08Speaker 3: No, that's what she did.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Oh that's what she said.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Oh Jamie and said, what are y'all doing? We're waiting
- 7:14Speaker 3: on you to open Christmas presents?
- 7:19Speaker 1: Okay. So that's yeah, funny. I have an aunt like
- 7:23Speaker 1: that who we always say she's going to be late
- 7:26Speaker 1: for anything that we have. So Kaylee's not alone.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And we literally have to wait for her. And if
- 7:32Speaker 2: it's not that we will get into you.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Know how they say a Thanksgiving that you get into arguments.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Our Thanksgiving things are.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Just like that, Like nothing can go normal with five girls?
- 7:52Speaker 1: And yeah, well, and I honestly am a firm believer.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Can any thing really be normal at holidays when you
- 8:02Speaker 1: get all the family together?
- 8:05Speaker 2: No can anything before, especially when you have as.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna just say I had two boys, and
- 8:14Speaker 1: I like to think that I did good as a
- 8:16Speaker 1: boy mom. Five girls would have put me in a
- 8:20Speaker 1: funny farm.
- 8:21Speaker 3: So yeah, and like I was telling and my poor husband,
- 8:25Speaker 3: but like I was telling you, and I'm a tomboy,
- 8:27Speaker 3: I hate pink.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I don't do hair like.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I won't hold that against you that you hate pink.
- 8:33Speaker 3: But oh so Kaylee, Yeah, now it's time.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Can you walk us through the events leading up to
- 8:49Speaker 1: Kaylee's disappearance.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yes, So I'm just sitting at home and cleaning and
- 8:59Speaker 3: I get a phone call. And I've learned to always
- 9:02Speaker 3: answer anybody's number. You know, if I a lot of people,
- 9:07Speaker 3: if they don't notice any number, they're not going to
- 9:10Speaker 3: answer it. But I learned the hard way, not that way,
- 9:14Speaker 3: but anyway, So I answered the phone call without knowing
- 9:17Speaker 3: the number, and I immediately can hear Kaylee crying in
- 9:23Speaker 3: the background and a dis begging and this man is like,
- 9:29Speaker 3: I want my fucking money. I want my fucking money.
- 9:33Speaker 3: And another guy, you know, I can tell, he starts.
- 9:36Speaker 3: He's in the background, and I'm like, okay, what are
- 9:40Speaker 3: you talking about?
- 9:41Speaker 2: What is it?
- 9:43Speaker 3: And she was like, tailor you, tailor you. She's still
- 9:48Speaker 3: she stole six hundred dollars from me. I want my
- 9:50Speaker 3: fucking money. And I can't tell you how many times
- 9:52Speaker 3: he said that quote, I want my fucking money. So
- 9:56Speaker 3: I was like, okay, look, I understand Kaylee's stolen for
- 10:00Speaker 3: me before okay, you're mad, you're heated with just calm down.
- 10:06Speaker 3: I'm like, I can't. I don't have that right in
- 10:08Speaker 3: my bank account right now. I can get it for you.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Let's just calm down. And then, you know, this conversation
- 10:16Speaker 3: seemed like it lasts a lifetime, but it was six minutes,
- 10:21Speaker 3: which is pretty long when you hear your daughter in
- 10:23Speaker 3: the background.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Please and she was like, Mama, please help me. My
- 10:30Speaker 2: face is so disformed. He was pistol whipping her over
- 10:38Speaker 2: and over. Oh wow, did you hear that?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Over six hundred dollars.
- 10:54Speaker 2: This is a bad time for glitch. Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 3: So he so you heard the where Kaye is pleading, correct, yes, okay.
- 11:04Speaker 3: So then he said at one point, tell tell your mom,
- 11:10Speaker 3: tell your mom what Java did. And she's like, Chavah
- 11:14Speaker 3: threw me under the I threw Java under the bus.
- 11:17Speaker 2: I threw Chavah under the bus.
- 11:19Speaker 3: So Java is a friend. No, he's not a friend.
- 11:24Speaker 3: He's an acquaintance that Kaylee spent time with. And I
- 11:30Speaker 3: guess he had brought her over there for one time prior.
- 11:37Speaker 3: This is what I heard from the detective. And that's
- 11:41Speaker 3: where he had met quant She had met Quan is
- 11:46Speaker 3: when she Kevin.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Uh.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Chava took Kaylee to Kevin's house. That's where she ran
- 11:56Speaker 3: into Puant one other time prior to this.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Okay, so they.
- 12:02Speaker 3: So they had they had a spoken and linked up
- 12:08Speaker 3: or met each other, but it was only one time
- 12:10Speaker 3: before one time. So Kayley decides to go over there
- 12:18Speaker 3: with him the you know in trust. Normally she takes
- 12:22Speaker 3: an uber everywhere, this time she uh did not. The
- 12:30Speaker 3: gentleman that Uh picked.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Up was Quan.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Picked her up, okay, And.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Quan was told to be store in front of Fiesta
- 12:50Speaker 4: had told him to pick him up, so he claims
- 12:56Speaker 4: he's like.
- 12:56Speaker 3: An underground uber and that's where he met Kaylee, which
- 13:02Speaker 3: is a total bogus story.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Hold on one cruel a quick.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Second, guys. We'll give her just a minute. She's got
- 13:17Speaker 1: a lot going on. She looks like she was grabbing
- 13:20Speaker 1: some water. Now I have a question about the six
- 13:24Speaker 1: hundred dollars. Where did he say Kaylee stole this money
- 13:29Speaker 1: from him at?
- 13:30Speaker 3: Yeah, So I asked him that and he was like,
- 13:32Speaker 3: it was in my car.
- 13:33Speaker 2: It was in my effing car. And I was like, okay, Louke.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I realized at this point because at first, at the
- 13:43Speaker 3: beginning of the phone call, when I was telling you,
- 13:45Speaker 3: I understand Kaylee stolen from me before I started getting
- 13:48Speaker 3: onto her and I.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Was like, what the fuck, Kaylee?
- 13:50Speaker 3: What are you doing? Why are you taking people's shit?
- 13:53Speaker 3: Like you know, Mama Bear kicked in. But when I
- 13:56Speaker 3: started hearing her, I knew that this was serious. Kaylee
- 14:03Speaker 3: had personal, uh multiple personality disorder. I know Kaylee's cry
- 14:10Speaker 3: fake cries, okay, and her I know.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I'm a mother, I gave birth to her. I know her.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And this was a scared to death never fit scream
- 14:25Speaker 2: and cry and plead.
- 14:27Speaker 3: And the only time that was ever compared to this
- 14:30Speaker 3: time of her crying is when she was in the
- 14:33Speaker 3: back of the police car. So I started back at
- 14:42Speaker 3: reversing my role and I'm like, look, just give me
- 14:45Speaker 3: a little bit. I can get the money. I can
- 14:47Speaker 3: get it just and so people started thinking that I,
- 14:52Speaker 3: you know, called after we hung up, Well, I'm dumping.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Can he tell you did he like want you to
- 14:59Speaker 1: meet him somewhere to the money or read he gave
- 15:03Speaker 1: you a cash app or something?
- 15:05Speaker 3: Okay, so he gave me his girlfriends which is Donna Owens. Yes,
- 15:11Speaker 3: we're gonna put her name out there because because just
- 15:16Speaker 3: put the pieces together on that one when we go ahead,
- 15:19Speaker 3: because he was also driving her car everywhere, so her
- 15:24Speaker 3: cash app her card. Anyway, she said, the detective told
- 15:33Speaker 3: me that she always was at her job during any
- 15:36Speaker 3: incident that occurred and is on camera, so she has alibi.
- 15:43Speaker 1: So they're saying she's not involved. She was just involved
- 15:46Speaker 1: with a really bad dude.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Now, he did get her arrested on violation and probation
- 15:53Speaker 3: because he wanted to get her on something we all did.
- 15:56Speaker 3: You can't tell me this woman doesn't know anything anything.
- 16:03Speaker 3: You know, they're making phone calls in jail right now
- 16:06Speaker 3: and he's crying to her about how he's getting beat up.
- 16:10Speaker 3: That's why they had to move him because in Punging
- 16:12Speaker 3: rem public pop they they were they were rubbing him up.
- 16:16Speaker 3: So now he's in a twenty three hour on his own,
- 16:20Speaker 3: gets out one hour a day, is what I heard.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Well, I don't think. I mean, I wish I could
- 16:27Speaker 1: say I feel sorry for him, but I don't. I don't.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Oh now, I remember correctly that cash app name. So
- 16:37Speaker 1: after you got off the phone, how did that call
- 16:41Speaker 1: in with him? That initial call?
- 16:46Speaker 3: So after I got off the phone, I went to
- 16:49Speaker 3: My husband got home from work. As soon as I
- 16:53Speaker 3: told him, he knew I was serious. He took off
- 16:55Speaker 3: work and noon came down here. We went straight to
- 16:58Speaker 3: the Baytown Police Department and I was trying to tell
- 17:02Speaker 3: her about this, and mind you, I looked like crap.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And I'm just telling you this.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Now because when we saw her the day after it
- 17:11Speaker 3: was different. So anyway, I'm throwing that piece out there.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I just looked like crap. So the front desk clerk said,
- 17:21Speaker 3: there's a lot of scams going on around here, and
- 17:24Speaker 3: you know that's just a scam. And I told her, well,
- 17:27Speaker 3: first one I walked in, they said that they couldn't
- 17:29Speaker 3: help me unless I had an address location on them
- 17:34Speaker 3: on her I was like, are you kidding me? An address?
- 17:39Speaker 2: And I'm like I was so livid.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I stormed out of there and called my lawyer and
- 17:48Speaker 3: my husband's like, no, we're going back in there. He said,
- 17:50Speaker 3: give him her address she has on her mail. I'm like, okay,
- 17:53Speaker 3: So I go back in there and do it. She
- 17:55Speaker 3: didn't want to take the report.
- 17:57Speaker 2: She did it.
- 18:00Speaker 3: So another lady came up here, came up to the
- 18:03Speaker 3: front because I made her go get an officer. I said, look,
- 18:06Speaker 3: if this is real and this actually happening, I want
- 18:09Speaker 3: something saying I was here. So she goes and gets
- 18:13Speaker 3: an officer. An officer. Lady comes out and says, there
- 18:17Speaker 3: has been a lot of scams. You know, here's my card.
- 18:23Speaker 2: That was it.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I'm like, okay, I'll be back up here tomorrow. So
- 18:28Speaker 3: then they came up got.
- 18:31Speaker 1: They did not take a report right then, they just
- 18:35Speaker 1: gave you their card.
- 18:38Speaker 2: They didn't make a report.
- 18:41Speaker 1: What the hellams going around are?
- 18:48Speaker 3: So when I tell you that they wanted to know.
- 18:51Speaker 3: They wouldn't do the address that was the day after.
- 18:54Speaker 3: That wasn't even then.
- 18:56Speaker 2: She just got in.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Did they decide to take a report? When did they
- 19:01Speaker 1: decide that?
- 19:03Speaker 3: I went in the next day, like I said, dressed
- 19:06Speaker 3: up and I said, I want to make a missing
- 19:09Speaker 3: person's report. She did not notice me until twenty minutes
- 19:13Speaker 3: into making this report, and she was having She wasn't
- 19:17Speaker 3: wanting to really do it. You can tell and I
- 19:19Speaker 3: would remember something and spurred out before I forget, She's like, ma'am, ma'am,
- 19:24Speaker 3: and you just hold on. I will ask the questions.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Then she realized who I was from yesterday and that
- 19:34Speaker 3: threw her off. So at this point I got a case.
- 19:42Speaker 3: They didn't want to take it the day before. Took
- 19:46Speaker 3: them a week a week and a half to have
- 19:48Speaker 3: a detective call me. So we're past the forty eight
- 19:52Speaker 3: hours way past.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Wait, okay, hold on. So it took them twenty four
- 19:57Speaker 1: hours give or take to take the report correct and
- 20:01Speaker 1: then it took a week to a week and a
- 20:02Speaker 1: half for an investigator to call you. Yes, So what
- 20:07Speaker 1: was being done during that time?
- 20:10Speaker 2: Nothing?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Now, what were you doing? Because did you he gave
- 20:16Speaker 1: you the cash at number. Did you keep trying to
- 20:19Speaker 1: call him back?
- 20:21Speaker 3: Oh? Yes, oh yes, and he Kevin. It was Kevin's phone. Okay, right,
- 20:32Speaker 3: And let me just say, during this time when Kaylee
- 20:35Speaker 3: was getting beaten, Kevin would be in the background and
- 20:37Speaker 3: he would be like, all right, man, that's enough, dude,
- 20:41Speaker 3: that's enough. And he'd be like, oh my fucking money
- 20:44Speaker 3: once again. So let me just throw that out there,
- 20:47Speaker 3: because also, you know, Kevin eventually made him leave because
- 20:51Speaker 3: he said he was doing too much.
- 20:52Speaker 2: True anyway, I forgot.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Did y'all did you call him back on the cash
- 21:04Speaker 1: ap did you?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah? All that day he never answered and he hung
- 21:11Speaker 2: up on me.
- 21:11Speaker 3: When I told him, listen, you just need to chill,
- 21:14Speaker 3: Go smoke a joint, go take a Xanax something, calm down,
- 21:18Speaker 3: he hung up.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I was like great, great.
- 21:22Speaker 3: So that's when I later on decided, Hey, I'm going
- 21:24Speaker 3: to send him a dollar just to see what happens
- 21:28Speaker 3: and put ransom makes sense to me, and that's what
- 21:35Speaker 3: I did. Now, I sometimes wish I wouldn't have because
- 21:38Speaker 3: I'm wondering if I, you know, pissed him off to
- 21:41Speaker 3: make her make him go missing.
- 21:45Speaker 2: That really hurts.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Well.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I think we always can look back and say should
- 21:52Speaker 1: we have done this, or shouldn't we have done that?
- 21:55Speaker 1: But I think considering that the police weren't in a
- 22:01Speaker 1: hurry to help you or do anything, I think you
- 22:05Speaker 1: were trying to do the best thing you could. I mean,
- 22:08Speaker 1: I have to tell you in my case, I probably
- 22:11Speaker 1: would have done everything.
- 22:14Speaker 3: A lot of me and my daughter, you know, we went,
- 22:19Speaker 3: me and a couple of my friends, did a lot
- 22:20Speaker 3: of social media investigation, found her cash app, found her
- 22:24Speaker 3: social media, you know.
- 22:29Speaker 2: We uh oh. Then Kevin Brindley, my daughter. I probably
- 22:35Speaker 2: not should have said her name. She's fifteen.
- 22:38Speaker 3: She we were like, okay, let's call the phone number
- 22:41Speaker 3: again on your number, right, So it's like been two days.
- 22:45Speaker 3: So she calls it like five forty five right before
- 22:47Speaker 3: she right when she got up for school, which is
- 22:50Speaker 3: an odd amount I mean, not amount, but of time.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Right, five forty five am.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Keviny answers, well, and she's like, look, that's my big sister.
- 23:01Speaker 3: You know, I'm a little sister. I miss her, And
- 23:05Speaker 3: do you know what happened? And Kevin is like the
- 23:09Speaker 3: last I heard him. Chava and Kayley ran out of
- 23:16Speaker 3: the house. Now whose house I don't know, And Brinany's like, well,
- 23:24Speaker 3: thank you so much for taking my call and talking
- 23:27Speaker 3: to me, and he was like anytime, I'll always talk
- 23:29Speaker 3: to you, you know, like he really had some kind
- 23:31Speaker 3: of sympathy ever empathy for Brindley and her sister being gone.
- 23:40Speaker 1: But not enough to stop his I don't know if.
- 23:43Speaker 3: He knew more. I don't really know if he does
- 23:49Speaker 3: now no, because what I was told he had this
- 23:53Speaker 3: big ass gun and people were scared of him, and
- 23:59Speaker 3: so he's like, you need to get out of my house.
- 24:02Speaker 3: You're doing too much with her, you know. Well that's
- 24:05Speaker 3: when he took Kayley, and she really didn't have a
- 24:09Speaker 3: choice because her face was already beaten, and Kevin wasn't
- 24:13Speaker 3: going to stop him because look how big he is
- 24:15Speaker 3: and with the big ass.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Gun in his hand. Yeah, what do you do?
- 24:20Speaker 3: He's got the gun.
- 24:21Speaker 1: He's crazy, right, He's the one in control. When you
- 24:26Speaker 1: said the detective or the investigator called you a week
- 24:28Speaker 1: and a half after, what did they say to you
- 24:32Speaker 1: that first time.
- 24:34Speaker 3: I was assigned to her case, and that's it. In
- 24:41Speaker 3: the midst of all this, they are moving and tearing
- 24:44Speaker 3: down the old beatol police department, right, which I believe
- 24:52Speaker 3: also through wrenching things. You know, everything had to be
- 24:56Speaker 3: moved on that day that I went in from the
- 25:00Speaker 3: the old building. Then you got parking, then you have construction,
- 25:03Speaker 3: then you have to build a new forensics. Then everybody's
- 25:06Speaker 3: got to set up in their office.
- 25:07Speaker 2: It was chao it. So go ahead.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I was gonna ask, because someone has been arrested, how
- 25:21Speaker 1: long after you followed the report where you told that
- 25:25Speaker 1: someone had been arrested? And how did you find that out?
- 25:35Speaker 2: Uh?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Oh? Did I lose you, Casey? Can you hear me?
- 25:46Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:46Speaker 1: I'm thinking okay, No, that's fine.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I'm thinking okay.
- 25:55Speaker 3: So the detective called me that a morning, said that
- 26:02Speaker 3: he got a subpoena. No, he got a thing signed.
- 26:07Speaker 3: He went to the judge's house in Forbun County and
- 26:10Speaker 3: got it signed. And he's got no bond and in
- 26:13Speaker 3: charge for aggravating to Sultan kidnapping. Well, he was already
- 26:16Speaker 3: in jail over Meghan.
- 26:20Speaker 1: So so let's back up a little bit. So are
- 26:26Speaker 1: they the ones? Because if I remember correct from last
- 26:30Speaker 1: Wednesday my research, they tracked him to his girlfriend's cash
- 26:34Speaker 1: app and then to a car that was seen outside
- 26:38Speaker 1: of the apartment that Kaylee was getting into. So that's
- 26:41Speaker 1: how they tracked back to his name. Is Kwan Flowers?
- 26:47Speaker 1: What led them to Did they tell you the police
- 26:51Speaker 1: tell you we are arresting him for this aggravated kidnapping
- 26:56Speaker 1: because it was his cash app and it was his
- 26:59Speaker 1: girlfriend's car. Is that what they use to arrest him
- 27:03Speaker 1: for that kidnapping?
- 27:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the charge they use. So basically, I feel
- 27:12Speaker 3: like that they think since they got a charge on him,
- 27:16Speaker 3: that it's over and they're letting it go. And that's
- 27:18Speaker 3: why we're doing this podcast and raising awareness. We're not
- 27:21Speaker 3: forgetting about Kaylee. We're going to keep searching. I just
- 27:25Speaker 3: got off the phone with EPI Search and they're going
- 27:29Speaker 3: to be passing out flyers everywhere in that area where
- 27:32Speaker 3: she was missing, from between Kevin's house and Quants.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Now quick question, just so we can talk, because I
- 27:42Speaker 1: don't want Kaylee to be forgotten, but I also don't
- 27:45Speaker 1: want Megan to be forgotten either. My most definitely goosebumps.
- 27:50Speaker 1: So Kwan was already in Harris County jail when they
- 27:53Speaker 1: went to serve this warrant because he murdered Magan. Was
- 28:00Speaker 1: it within a couple of days before or after h
- 28:03Speaker 1: Kaylee that he killed ma'am.
- 28:05Speaker 2: It was made the third and Kaylee went missing April
- 28:07Speaker 2: twenty second.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Why did the police tell you what led him to
- 28:14Speaker 1: kill Megan? Did she owe him money? Did he think
- 28:17Speaker 1: she took money? Did they say what?
- 28:20Speaker 2: So?
- 28:21Speaker 3: This is the funny thing. This is the funny thing.
- 28:23Speaker 3: I spoke to Megan's mom one time. She reached out
- 28:28Speaker 3: to me. The funny thing is she has five daughters too.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Oh wow, yeah, yeah.
- 28:38Speaker 3: That gave me jose when she told me. But she
- 28:44Speaker 3: had told me that he also reached out to one
- 28:49Speaker 3: of Kevin's friends and asked for money. I'm not Kevin's friends,
- 28:55Speaker 3: Megan's friends. And I was also told by the detective
- 29:02Speaker 3: that he Chava got the same phone call. He was
- 29:05Speaker 3: trying to get money out of him too, for Magon,
- 29:13Speaker 3: So no for Kayley, I'm sorry for Kaylee.
- 29:16Speaker 2: Okay, So has I was told by Megan's mom that uh.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Kuan had reached out to one of Megan's friends and
- 29:29Speaker 3: asked for money on Kasha or yeah.
- 29:33Speaker 1: So, I mean it sounds like he needed money for something,
- 29:38Speaker 1: whether it was stolen from him or he felt entitled
- 29:42Speaker 1: to it.
- 29:44Speaker 2: That he was trying to reach out to her, both
- 29:49Speaker 2: of them's closest person, to let them know that this.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Isn't a game. Can I had texted Kaylee eleven minutes
- 30:01Speaker 3: prior to getting this phone call, so he had her
- 30:05Speaker 3: phone so when this is going on, I believe that
- 30:11Speaker 3: he saw my text, saw that I was aggravated and
- 30:18Speaker 3: disappointed in her actions, and he took that upon himself
- 30:26Speaker 3: to use that as a platform for himself and to
- 30:31Speaker 3: see me suffer, her suffer. And I think that he
- 30:35Speaker 3: got off on that, just like he took pictures of
- 30:42Speaker 3: Megan's casings. Who does that?
- 30:49Speaker 1: Somebody who?
- 30:50Speaker 3: So he can go back and look at it?
- 30:52Speaker 1: Not right now? What can you tell us about the
- 30:57Speaker 1: investigation process that the police have been doing doing into
- 31:01Speaker 1: Kaylee's case? Do you feel like it installed now that
- 31:06Speaker 1: they've arrest you know, they've got a warrant for him
- 31:09Speaker 1: for aggravated kidnapping. Do you feel that because he's in
- 31:14Speaker 1: jail already facing murder charges, that they feel that's enough
- 31:19Speaker 1: or do you think they're still investigating?
- 31:22Speaker 3: Yes? Most definitely, most definitely. All I have to initiate.
- 31:32Speaker 3: I'm getting nothing like well, you know, he's locked up
- 31:39Speaker 3: for life, maybe death penalty. You know, what else do
- 31:42Speaker 3: you want?
- 31:43Speaker 2: Oh?
- 31:44Speaker 1: My daughter? I six say, you want your daughter and
- 31:47Speaker 1: to know where she is.
- 31:50Speaker 3: And I think they think it's just fine since they
- 31:52Speaker 3: caught a charge on him, you know, and that's that's that.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Because I used to get daily phone calls from him,
- 32:01Speaker 3: you know, and at the very you know, beginning and
- 32:04Speaker 3: all this, I think it was really good. I thought
- 32:07Speaker 3: they were doing a great job. And they were, but
- 32:10Speaker 3: you know, especially when they did the press release with me,
- 32:14Speaker 3: I was very happy for that to get the word out.
- 32:17Speaker 3: But yeah, they for they're done. They've seemed like they've
- 32:23Speaker 3: you know, we.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Did our job.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Now. And I also want to really off talk about
- 32:35Speaker 1: when they found those shellcasings by making plus he had
- 32:39Speaker 1: taken pictures. Those shellcasings were linked to two other crimes
- 32:45Speaker 1: that he had committed, and he had sat one in
- 32:49Speaker 1: their face during that time. Now seeing his criminal background,
- 32:54Speaker 1: I do see some drug charges, do or have? The
- 32:58Speaker 1: police said that they think he was on a drug bench.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Was he.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Well, that never really got discussed because I was told
- 33:09Speaker 3: that he was a pimp and he sold a big
- 33:11Speaker 3: drug dealer, So I guess that really didn't get discussed
- 33:17Speaker 3: anymore because it was obvious he was on avenge and
- 33:21Speaker 3: on a bad trip. But if you're just being drug
- 33:26Speaker 3: dealer in pimp, why are you asking for.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Six hundred dollars?
- 33:31Speaker 1: And what that was gonna be my next question?
- 33:32Speaker 3: All, let me just mention. Let me just mention that
- 33:37Speaker 3: Kaylee could get six hundred dollars in one phone call.
- 33:41Speaker 3: She has lots of friends, but they would want to
- 33:45Speaker 3: know what it's for, but they would help her a
- 33:50Speaker 3: lot of friends, and she didn't need to steal for
- 33:57Speaker 3: six hundred bucks truy.
- 34:00Speaker 2: So I knew that that right there was bullshit.
- 34:05Speaker 3: I knew she didn't still let six hundred dollars that
- 34:09Speaker 3: was She's just that stupid. I don't care how high
- 34:13Speaker 3: or drug whatever, that would not be anything that would
- 34:17Speaker 3: enter her mind.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Especially look at how big the man is.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Yeah, would you steal six hundred dollars from somebody like that?
- 34:24Speaker 1: I personally wouldn't because he scared the crap out of me. Now,
- 34:29Speaker 1: did yeah, the police ever say that they thought maybe
- 34:33Speaker 1: Kaylee was purchasing drugs from Kwan or that that's why
- 34:38Speaker 1: she met up.
- 34:39Speaker 3: We never actually, we never went into that into detail. Okay,
- 34:43Speaker 3: but I as, yeah, we we didn't, because that's neither
- 34:48Speaker 3: here nor there.
- 34:49Speaker 2: But you know, I just wondered if that had a
- 34:53Speaker 2: personality disorder, that has to be it.
- 34:56Speaker 3: That has to be it. I mean, what else would
- 34:59Speaker 3: it be.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 35:00Speaker 3: You know, Kaylee couldn't find it in Baytown. She got
- 35:04Speaker 3: his number that one time they ran into each other,
- 35:07Speaker 3: so she's like a live let me hand him up, see.
- 35:10Speaker 2: What he's going, you know.
- 35:11Speaker 1: And the reason I ask.
- 35:12Speaker 2: It's sad addictions.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Sad m H. And the reason I ask it's between that.
- 35:20Speaker 2: And I have a multiplesonality disorder, those.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Two, right. I've learned through doing the true crime stuff
- 35:30Speaker 1: that sometimes police categorize people that they don't fill her
- 35:34Speaker 1: the perfect victim. So if they think you're out trying
- 35:37Speaker 1: to score you know, a little dimebag or whatever it's
- 35:42Speaker 1: called marijuana, that's what you get and that's what you get.
- 35:46Speaker 1: And that's why I was asking if they said that,
- 35:48Speaker 1: because I see that so many times and it just
- 35:51Speaker 1: frustrates me because I don't give a crap what you're doing.
- 35:55Speaker 1: No one has the right to hurt you or.
- 35:58Speaker 2: To take Kaylee is feel.
- 36:02Speaker 3: A person, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Mhm, Now, how did you feel you heard?
- 36:16Speaker 2: So, okay, let's go back. I also found out. I
- 36:19Speaker 2: also found out that Kwan lured a younger girl under
- 36:23Speaker 2: eighteen in his car and she had to get away
- 36:26Speaker 2: from him. Did you know?
- 36:31Speaker 1: No, that's scary.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Now.
- 36:35Speaker 1: How did you feel when you heard he had been arrested?
- 36:38Speaker 1: When police told you?
- 36:40Speaker 2: Yes? And I didn't find out about that until I
- 36:46Speaker 2: watched the True Crimes thing on YouTube, a fifteen minute
- 36:53Speaker 2: story about Kaylee and the whole us. But you know,
- 36:58Speaker 2: that's why I found out about the show casings. The
- 37:00Speaker 2: police didn't tell me any of this.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Now are the police the one who told you that
- 37:06Speaker 1: they invest that they arrested Kwan?
- 37:11Speaker 2: Uh?
- 37:11Speaker 3: Well, he was already arrested, so they just told me
- 37:14Speaker 3: they are.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I guess the warrant because they I guess. I need
- 37:16Speaker 1: to remember that he is in Harris County being held
- 37:20Speaker 1: yes on probation violation and their murder charges for Megan.
- 37:24Speaker 1: Fort Ben County has filed the arrest warrant for Kwan
- 37:31Speaker 1: for aggravating aggravated kidnapping of Kate Lee, and until Harris
- 37:36Speaker 1: County is done with them, they're not going to send
- 37:38Speaker 1: him over. But did the police call you and say, hey,
- 37:42Speaker 1: we went to the judge, we got this and we
- 37:45Speaker 1: are charging him with aggravated kidens Yes.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's when he informed me that he went to
- 37:50Speaker 3: the judge's house that prior night and got it signed.
- 37:55Speaker 3: So I was very thankful because he got no bond,
- 38:00Speaker 3: and Fortman County doesn't mess around with stuff like that,
- 38:05Speaker 3: so they're very uh, you're going to serve your time,
- 38:10Speaker 3: you're you know, so he's gonna get up thirty years
- 38:15Speaker 3: and no bond right now. And so even if he
- 38:19Speaker 3: got out on Megan's bond right now, he would go
- 38:23Speaker 3: straight to for Ben.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's something I want to tell people. I mean,
- 38:26Speaker 1: so in Harris County, I was looking up the record there.
- 38:30Speaker 1: He needs four hundred and fifty thousand dollars bond on
- 38:32Speaker 1: Megan's yet for murder, but Fort Being County on aggravated
- 38:37Speaker 1: kidnapping is doing a no bond. I really wanted to
- 38:41Speaker 1: just look at Harris County and say, seriously, I mean,
- 38:46Speaker 1: murder charge, you're offering a four hundred and fifty to.
- 38:50Speaker 3: His house at night, Thank god it signed.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I don't and then let's talk about Kevin. So it
- 39:01Speaker 1: was Kevin's phone that called you, and we know they
- 39:05Speaker 1: were at Kevin's house. Kevin was arrested, but not related
- 39:10Speaker 1: to Kaylee.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Correct, he was unarrested on meth charges. Okay when they
- 39:18Speaker 3: went to they Okay, they finally went to Kevin's house
- 39:22Speaker 3: and got a search warrant. Okay. I even talked to
- 39:25Speaker 3: one of the officers that went with his dog on
- 39:28Speaker 3: a separate occasion.
- 39:29Speaker 2: He said he was there.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Uh. The detective called me during the search and I
- 39:33Speaker 3: could hear them in the background scuffle and get stuff,
- 39:36Speaker 3: going through stuff, and he would ask me a question about,
- 39:40Speaker 3: you know, did she like to draw or color this
- 39:43Speaker 3: and that? And they arrested him with you know, meth charges,
- 39:48Speaker 3: but nothing else. Okay, So I guess he had some
- 39:54Speaker 3: background with this because Okay, the detective told me that
- 40:00Speaker 3: he was trying to get the okay to go to Mississippi.
- 40:03Speaker 3: And I said, well, what's in Mississippi And he said, well,
- 40:06Speaker 3: they transported Kevin to Mississippi because they were overcrowded. So
- 40:15Speaker 3: then I reminded him about it two to three weeks later,
- 40:19Speaker 3: and I was like, you know, did you get the
- 40:21Speaker 3: okay to go to Mississippi?
- 40:23Speaker 2: And He's like, Oh, he's our party back in Harris County.
- 40:26Speaker 2: I talked to him. He said he's being truthful, that
- 40:29Speaker 2: that's the last time that he was he saw. You know.
- 40:33Speaker 2: So why did they take him to Mississippi for a month,
- 40:37Speaker 2: three weeks and bring him back? Don't you think that's
- 40:43Speaker 2: a lot of our tax dollars money for?
- 40:47Speaker 3: Well?
- 40:49Speaker 2: Wait, on a met charge?
- 40:52Speaker 1: Well, my initial thought is on a meth charge, did
- 40:56Speaker 1: Kevin have evidence or proof or thing of a bigger deal,
- 41:02Speaker 1: like maybe the supplier was in Mississippi? Or it makes
- 41:06Speaker 1: me wonder what did they think.
- 41:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you right now, Terry, there's some connection.
- 41:12Speaker 3: There's some connection. It's not just the outside. There is
- 41:18Speaker 3: an inside connection somewhere.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I don't know where. But this man cannot get off
- 41:26Speaker 2: of murder and carry exes and do all of these
- 41:34Speaker 2: assault actions and not get.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Punish for them, not get justice form, not not just
- 41:48Speaker 3: now punished. You do the crime, you do the time.
- 41:52Speaker 3: They didn't even.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Pick him up.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I six say, do you think they're gonna charge Kevin
- 41:59Speaker 1: as an accomplice accessory? I mean it was his phone,
- 42:05Speaker 1: he admitted she was at his house. Do you think
- 42:09Speaker 1: they're going to charge him.
- 42:11Speaker 3: He's saying that he's scared of him and that he
- 42:17Speaker 3: just did whatever he told him because he had a
- 42:21Speaker 3: goodterness hand.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Well that's still.
- 42:28Speaker 2: But Kevin, you had the balls to kick him out
- 42:31Speaker 2: of the house with Kayley.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you think maybe n is sharing information and
- 42:39Speaker 1: that's why they haven't.
- 42:47Speaker 2: I mean it's some I can't put my finger on it,
- 42:51Speaker 2: but it's because something's not right. Something is not right.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Something's not right. I mean, I don't know what the
- 42:57Speaker 1: police have or what they're doing.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Somebody is covering both of their asses and I don't
- 43:05Speaker 3: know who it is or what.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, and I don't have the direct quote because you.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Don't just let a murderer run around, a serial killer
- 43:18Speaker 3: running around Houston.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Now, and I know.
- 43:27Speaker 3: There's other victims, so I'm really we have got to
- 43:30Speaker 3: get this out the.
- 43:31Speaker 2: More victims that come.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Yeah Now, Like I was saying, I don't have the
- 43:37Speaker 1: quote in front of me. But if I remember correctly,
- 43:41Speaker 1: Quand Flowers, when he was asked about Kaylee and where
- 43:44Speaker 1: she was at, he said something.
- 43:46Speaker 3: It was like one last time I saw Yeah, what doc,
- 43:52Speaker 3: you mean a million things? What does that even mean?
- 43:54Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't say that she was alive, that
- 43:58Speaker 1: he was with her the last time she was in
- 44:00Speaker 1: one piece.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so where did you see your last?
- 44:05Speaker 1: That was gonna be my next question. Did he say
- 44:08Speaker 1: where he saw her last? Or have the police told
- 44:14Speaker 1: you what he said?
- 44:14Speaker 3: Seem like they're trying to get ahead of no, and
- 44:19Speaker 3: it doesn't seem like they're trying to get it out
- 44:20Speaker 3: of him either. I asked him if they were going
- 44:23Speaker 3: to try to make a plea deal and get together
- 44:24Speaker 3: with Fort Benn. Now he's in jail, he might you know,
- 44:30Speaker 3: his whole life, and you know, might be the death penalty.
- 44:33Speaker 3: What else do you want?
- 44:35Speaker 2: I want my daughter.
- 44:37Speaker 3: I want to know what happened to Kayley. I can
- 44:40Speaker 3: accept if she's in heaven. I can accept that. When
- 44:43Speaker 3: I cannot accept is where is Kaylee? And my other
- 44:50Speaker 3: fear is that she sold her and she could be
- 44:54Speaker 3: far away getting sex traffic, and I honestly would rather
- 45:00Speaker 3: her being heaven and he's suffering.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Oh, I have to say I agree. I mean, I'm not.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Going to be that selfish.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Yeah, just because now you said that the police, I
- 45:16Speaker 1: think you said it was the police had said he
- 45:18Speaker 1: was a pimp. If they knew he was a pimp
- 45:22Speaker 1: and a drug dealer. Why hasn't he been arrested for that.
- 45:29Speaker 2: And those assaults? And you know, daylight in the daylight
- 45:35Speaker 2: eight times shooting a man in the face.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Oh, when I heard he was a homeless man as well,
- 45:40Speaker 3: he was a homeless man.
- 45:43Speaker 2: H what where's our justice system?
- 45:48Speaker 1: Yeah? What I mean going on, homeless man's family deserves
- 45:52Speaker 1: justice as well, because he just.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Now he's still a person. And I told him. I
- 46:03Speaker 2: was told the reason why he did that.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Is because he was talking to his girlfriend and he
- 46:07Speaker 3: got jealous and said, don't talk to my girl, and
- 46:10Speaker 3: that's when he shot him.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Yeah, this guy has a lot of problems, a lot
- 46:16Speaker 1: of problems. Now, how has Kaylee's disappearance affected you in
- 46:21Speaker 1: the family.
- 46:25Speaker 3: That question was one that was gonna be really hard
- 46:29Speaker 3: because it's affecting my marriage, it's affecting my girl's mental state.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Eight year old will sometimes before bad.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Well say Mommy, just get my bicycle out of storage
- 46:47Speaker 2: so I can go look for Kaylee. Please, we gotta
- 46:50Speaker 2: go find Gaylee. We gotta look for her. Oh, and
- 46:56Speaker 2: she gets so mad because I wouldn't take her aunt
- 46:58Speaker 2: to go look for Gaily but I don't know where
- 47:01Speaker 2: to look. Baby, They've already searched the places that they think.
- 47:05Speaker 2: And you know how hard that is to explain to
- 47:07Speaker 2: an eight year old that the last memory she remembers
- 47:10Speaker 2: is her sister holding her in her bed. I now,
- 47:18Speaker 2: my kids are not we are not well at all,
- 47:23Speaker 2: and I'll get you in the very best I possibly
- 47:26Speaker 2: can because I have young ones and my six year
- 47:29Speaker 2: old is autistic. Yeah, I have a fifteen year old
- 47:34Speaker 2: that I'm trying to start school and driving school with.
- 47:37Speaker 3: My life is still I just moved into a new
- 47:40Speaker 3: apartment yesterday. My life is not stopping because Kaylee is missing.
- 47:46Speaker 3: But I don't want people to for kit. I'm not
- 47:49Speaker 3: gonna quit now.
- 47:54Speaker 2: So it has affected our lives dramatically.
- 47:58Speaker 1: Has Sport been time given you a victim's advocate for anything?
- 48:06Speaker 3: No, I've gotten no resources, but on my own. I
- 48:11Speaker 3: even asked for some resources from the paydown from the
- 48:16Speaker 3: detective and I got nothing. So I myself, I've got
- 48:21Speaker 3: a lot of things going on, uh that are good, okay,
- 48:27Speaker 3: because I've done a lot of research. I have a
- 48:29Speaker 3: business management degree, and I started putting it.
- 48:32Speaker 2: To you.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Because there are resources out there.
- 48:37Speaker 3: There's a built going yeah, I know, oh, I know,
- 48:41Speaker 3: I've looked. That's why I was saying. There's supposed to
- 48:46Speaker 3: be a digital billboard going up for a nonprofit organization about,
- 48:51Speaker 3: you know, the Where's Kayley?
- 48:55Speaker 2: I also have.
- 48:58Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say some agent I'm retired coming down
- 49:04Speaker 3: from another part of Texas and his associates that are
- 49:11Speaker 3: going to look into finding Kayley. I was awesome told
- 49:17Speaker 3: that crime Stoppers. The detective is supposed to call crime
- 49:20Speaker 3: Stoppers and ask them, you know y'all have the money,
- 49:23Speaker 3: would you put up the money for the reward? Right
- 49:26Speaker 3: that I was told that's how you do it. I
- 49:28Speaker 3: explain that to the detective and he said, I don't
- 49:33Speaker 3: know who told you that information, but I don't think
- 49:35Speaker 3: that's right.
- 49:39Speaker 1: And not the answer.
- 49:47Speaker 2: He laughed at me the other day, literally and I
- 49:49Speaker 2: called him out and I said, Brett, are you really
- 49:52Speaker 2: laughing at me right now?
- 49:54Speaker 1: Okay? Please?
- 49:55Speaker 3: Because I had called X, I had called quantel X.
- 49:59Speaker 3: I there was one night that I was in my
- 50:02Speaker 3: lowest and I was writing down any and everybody or
- 50:06Speaker 3: anything that can help find Kayley, okay, And I sent
- 50:14Speaker 3: out an email to quality I'll X even though I
- 50:17Speaker 3: don't agree with his tactics. I was thinking to myself, well,
- 50:23Speaker 3: maybe he could go talk to him, man to man,
- 50:26Speaker 3: maybe he could reach him. I begged my husband numerous times,
- 50:30Speaker 3: just go down there and talk to him. So he
- 50:33Speaker 3: called me that morning and was like, I already knew
- 50:37Speaker 3: he was going to ask for money. So at the
- 50:40Speaker 3: beginning of the conversation, I was like, look, I have
- 50:42Speaker 3: no money, and he's like, well, me and my investigation
- 50:47Speaker 3: crew can't. Then the office won't let me do anything
- 50:49Speaker 3: without three thousand. And he's like, why did you exactly
- 50:52Speaker 3: what made you call me? And I said, honestly, I thought,
- 50:54Speaker 3: man to man that you could go talk to him
- 50:56Speaker 3: and find out where my daughter was at. But I
- 50:59Speaker 3: guess that would cost three thousand dollars.
- 51:02Speaker 2: So who is an activist?
- 51:04Speaker 3: Quantail X. He's the one on Fox News that argues
- 51:07Speaker 3: with the white dude.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Oh okay, I just did not make that connection.
- 51:14Speaker 3: So the detective got upset when I had mentioned that
- 51:17Speaker 3: I had talked to him, and he said he was
- 51:20Speaker 3: not going to work with any outside sources as such
- 51:23Speaker 3: of that, and I said, hold on it. You can't
- 51:27Speaker 3: compare some nonprofit organizations to quantil X and not help
- 51:34Speaker 3: work with them if they're trying to help find Kayley, right,
- 51:41Speaker 3: I said, I was ding at the bottom of the
- 51:43Speaker 3: beat on that. Okay, just trying to find answers.
- 51:52Speaker 1: What else are you supposed to do? I would have
- 51:53Speaker 1: done the same thing. I would have been doing anything
- 51:56Speaker 1: and everything.
- 51:58Speaker 3: I'm really trying to get a hold of Nancy Gray
- 52:00Speaker 3: and Michael Mike uh from missing Uh.
- 52:09Speaker 2: He started the organization twenty.
- 52:11Speaker 3: Four hours, twenty nine hours, Mike. No, No, that's a news.
- 52:17Speaker 2: Marriages must want it.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Oh, Adam wash, Yeah, that was the sense.
- 52:24Speaker 3: I'd like to get ahold of him. I'd like to
- 52:26Speaker 3: get a fold of Nancy. I would like to get
- 52:29Speaker 3: ahold of the nightly news before anything really nightline, dateline,
- 52:36Speaker 3: something national.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Well, I will go on and submit Kaylee's information to
- 52:45Speaker 1: the Missing in America and just submit it and see
- 52:48Speaker 1: what will happen, even if somebody else. I've done that, Okay,
- 52:52Speaker 1: I did that. I'm a firm believer that the more
- 52:56Speaker 1: people will do it. Now with the help that you're
- 53:01Speaker 1: getting with billboards and all of that. Is there any
- 53:06Speaker 1: organization or anyone that you want to publicly think or
- 53:11Speaker 1: let the public know that's been helping.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Yes, yes, most definitely equi Search. They have been.
- 53:25Speaker 3: So good at communication empathy patients, and they volunteer to
- 53:38Speaker 3: go out and look in these remote places whenever the
- 53:45Speaker 3: department doesn't have the capability the time, so Equisearch one.
- 53:54Speaker 3: They've given me flyers this stick to hand out, you know,
- 54:00Speaker 3: they they will, They came and delivered them them to me.
- 54:05Speaker 3: They go out of their way to help, So I
- 54:08Speaker 3: definitely want to think EPI Search. Yes they are. And
- 54:15Speaker 3: I also heard that someone else helped with the search
- 54:24Speaker 3: Warton for beIN County and I can't.
- 54:26Speaker 2: It's like a coast coastal.
- 54:30Speaker 3: I want to thank them, but I don't know exactly
- 54:36Speaker 3: is And you know Detective Brett for doing what he started.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Now and I'm gonna leave that at that, now, what advice.
- 54:49Speaker 3: There's some other people though that are there, Okay, they're
- 54:52Speaker 3: fixing to come into and that I'm not allowed to
- 54:56Speaker 3: I'm not. I don't want to choose not to speak on.
- 54:58Speaker 3: But I do want to thank them in advance.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Okay, And if you can't what we can do when
- 55:04Speaker 1: you are able to share, let me know. I will
- 55:07Speaker 1: release the update a couple of minutes things, giving them
- 55:11Speaker 1: and also tagging them because without these advocacy groups, without
- 55:16Speaker 1: these nonprofits, without the community stepping into help. Look at
- 55:20Speaker 1: what just happened with the girl who was missing Chloe
- 55:23Speaker 1: in Houston. The police weren't doing anything, but Grizzyhood News
- 55:28Speaker 1: was on top of it, had it out there, and
- 55:30Speaker 1: let me tell you, her tenacity and her following I
- 55:35Speaker 1: think is what helped find that girl.
- 55:37Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of people kept tagging me and say
- 55:39Speaker 3: you need to get this on Grizzly News. And she
- 55:41Speaker 3: set in her car one day and ranting on it
- 55:44Speaker 3: for like twenty minutes.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, so that's why when I say.
- 55:50Speaker 2: I didn't notice what, Yeah, oh.
- 55:53Speaker 1: If there's anything going on in Houston area metro area,
- 55:59Speaker 1: you need to followsy. So she is amazing. Now, I
- 56:05Speaker 1: know you're still new into this, a life that you
- 56:09Speaker 1: didn't want to. What advice would you give to other
- 56:12Speaker 1: families if they find their self in this situation Because
- 56:19Speaker 1: I don't think there's a manual for it. I don't
- 56:22Speaker 1: think there's Someone hasn't put it all together, but I
- 56:26Speaker 1: believe that you probably have already learned. So yeah, there is,
- 56:34Speaker 1: but I think it's a school of hard knocks. And
- 56:36Speaker 1: I also think if you've never thought you're going to
- 56:39Speaker 1: be in that situation, I can't imagine how the brain
- 56:42Speaker 1: works when all of a sudden you are. So is
- 56:45Speaker 1: there any advice that you can give to others?
- 56:55Speaker 3: I think one of the biggest things is I have
- 56:59Speaker 3: forgiven one. Okay, let me think that that's too soon.
- 57:06Speaker 3: But without forgiving him what he did, there's no way
- 57:11Speaker 3: that I can move on.
- 57:13Speaker 2: To hold on to that anger, into that anger. Uh.
- 57:22Speaker 3: I'm already getting eaten alive. My heart is already broken.
- 57:26Speaker 3: I don't need more heartbreak by hating this man.
- 57:33Speaker 2: This man has issues. We all know this. M H.
- 57:37Speaker 3: I mean ration, I'm forgiving him and not forgetting.
- 57:47Speaker 1: Now, what do you see as the future of Kayley's case?
- 57:57Speaker 1: Do you think the police are gonna get involved and
- 58:03Speaker 1: try to get the answer of where she is? No?
- 58:08Speaker 3: No, I think that they're done.
- 58:12Speaker 2: And that's why.
- 58:14Speaker 1: I'm going to just stop you out there. I'm gonna
- 58:18Speaker 1: stop you real quick and take that's not okay with her,
- 58:22Speaker 1: that is not there. Yeah, that's not okay. That's not okay.
- 58:31Speaker 1: You don't stop looking just because you have somebody.
- 58:33Speaker 3: And you know what, I don't even care. If they
- 58:35Speaker 3: don't get involved, that's fine because there's other people that
- 58:37Speaker 3: will m HM, and they'll they the resources nonprofits, you
- 58:45Speaker 3: know they will, and they're gonna look real stupid when
- 58:51Speaker 3: somebody else ends up finding them. That's not agents, So
- 58:59Speaker 3: that's on them. I'm tired of holding on to hatred
- 59:04Speaker 3: and I just I'm tired of hearing everything happens for
- 59:10Speaker 3: a reason that's not what a mom wants to hear.
- 59:15Speaker 2: I'm tired of hearing.
- 59:23Speaker 3: There's nothing. My friends even told me. There's no words
- 59:26Speaker 3: to talk to me, to say to me. There are
- 59:28Speaker 3: no words.
- 59:29Speaker 2: This is a mother's heartbreak, worse nightmare, and there are
- 59:37Speaker 2: no words to give to them because you can't say I
- 59:39Speaker 2: know how you feel. No you don't. Did you give
- 59:42Speaker 2: birth and your child and scene? And yes, I'm going
- 59:45Speaker 2: to call her a child.
- 59:46Speaker 3: Because at the end of the day, she.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Is still my child.
- 59:52Speaker 3: And she had mental issues and needed to be watched
- 59:55Speaker 3: in she meds, So you know, Kaylee was a kind
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: of like a child. And but also what was worse
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: is she liked one of her personalities, liked to push
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: the the the boundaries to see how far she can
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: get and I like jumping, diving, like that adrenaline, adrenaline,
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: adrenaline rush for doing something and seeing how far she
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: can get away with it. Now, that doesn't mean that
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: she deserves whatever she was dealt with.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: She does not deserve that at all. Now I can
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: tell you before we wrap up that we will share.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: This because let me just I want to put this
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: out in here real quick. Yeah, I want to put
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: this out there real quick.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Kaylee just got out. She was in the psychiatric hospital
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: for three weeks and then prior and then after that
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: she went to rehab.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: And she had called me, and she's never called me
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: to ask for help that she wanted the help. I
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: always initiated it. Okay, So I'm like, Okay, she's for
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: real this time, she's asking for help.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: She hadn't been.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Out on even three weeks, four weeks at the most
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: since this happened, and drugs or disease. She shouldn't have
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: been on mental meds.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: Okay, I'm sorry, No, not at all.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: I mean, it's part of the story, Kaylee.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Kaylee wanted to do.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Good, She really wanted to do good. Well, she just
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: made the wrong choice with the wrong person.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: It's sad that there are people out there who take
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: advantage of others. Like I said, we know he has issues.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: I can tell you what we can do is our
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: community is great. We will continue sharing all of this
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: information post, we will keep track of it, and we
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: will keep getting the word out there because I do
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: believe it's going to take the community stepping in and
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: getting involved and lighten the fire under some people. We
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: have to.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Let me just say this.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: We don't know if Kaylee's been sex traffic to Mexico,
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: if she's laying in a field since a hurricane for
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: three and a half weeks in a dumpster. We don't know.
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: Yeah, and we have to find out. She can't just
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: be vanished.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: No.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: And I want to challenge anyone that's watching this or
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: sees this. If you know Kuan Flowers or you know
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: his girlfriend, and you have any information and you're not
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: comfortable calling the police, you are more than welcome to
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: message us. We will get the information over to Casey.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: But what can call to a safe place?
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Also a safe place you can do this anonymously. Quan
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: is a big guy. He looks scary and I can
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: get why people are scared of him. But I want
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: anyone who's sitting there with information and are not talking
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: because they're scared of him, I want them to stop.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Put themselves in your shoes, Casey. I want them to
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: sit there in your shoes and think how they would
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: feel if it was their daughter. And I want them
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: to call in and give that information or if they
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: have information on how to get Kwanda talk, or if
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: they have information on places Kwan hung out, where Kwan
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: liked to go and do his drugs.
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: Anywhere as to Kaylee knows no place or anything you
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: say is stupid or don't feel embarrassed.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: No, And that's why I want to tell people to
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: do it. If you're scared to call the police. Nothing
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: to Small, call Texas EQUA Search, reach out to us.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: We have that private tip line that's for Chase Lackey Small.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Facebook is open public, Okay. I just want to let that. No,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: everybody know that. Right now I'm.
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: Getting a lot of weirdos, but my Facebook is public, so.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: You know, the loons come out.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I want to thank you again for coming on today.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I and the team and the community. We will keep
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: getting the word out. As we all know, I grew
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: up in Houston, worked in Baytown. My granddaughter lives in
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Baytown once again. And I feel like things happen for
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: a reason for me to learn about these cases, not
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: that what happened happened that maybe that's why so many
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: people send it to me. Even my nephew sent your
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: daughter's case to me, and he's like, oh, you need
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: to look into this. And it's that connection again and
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: we will do whatever we can to help.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Also, I uh, the other day, was ran into some
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: Beetom police officers and I was like, do y'all know
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: about you know, Kaylee, my daughter that's missing? And they're like,
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: I don't know what you're talking about. I'm like, you
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: don't know. So when I confronted the detective about this
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: and I'm like, how come they didn't know about Kaylee?
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: He's like, do you know how many people go missing
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: a day? I'm like, but don't y'all have a meeting
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: before shift? We did hold a press conference there for
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: gooda for goodness sakes about Kayley. So you think your
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: department that are on the streets would know about her
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: and to be looking and keeping their.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Eye out, wouldn't you think you?
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I mean, I mean not min Carris County. It's not
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: that big, right, And that's what I was getting ready
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: to say. Fort Benn is not Harris County. Fort Benn
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: doesn't have hundreds of people like Harris County. So every
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: officer should have a picture of Kaylee in their cars,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: in their little books. They should. Everybody should know, but
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I will have I will tell you this, it's happens.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: I called Baltimore, Maryland to verify another missing person case,
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: and I was shocked when the detective I talked to,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: he goes, well, I'm gonna have to give this to
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: somebody else because I don't know anything about this person.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: And I'm like, she is a child missing in your district.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: How can you not know? So I want to encourage
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: all law enforcement everywhere. I don't care how many missing
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: person cases you have. You need to tell your officers
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: so if somebody asks them, they can at least say, yes,
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I've been told about this case. I am so sorry
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: you're I mean something. You don't just let them not
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: go because first of all, look uneducated. It makes them
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: look stupid, and we do not need law enforcement to
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: look stupid. We they somehow do that.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: Say too much for Baytown right now, so just saying, yeah,
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: I don't know where they got their schooling.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Yeah. So while I want to thank you again, please
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: if it's okay, I want us to keep in touch
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: almost definitely do anything we can to help me.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I'm also listen, guys, I need all the support and
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: prayers that I can get right now. This is a
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: family that is breaking. So please, I beg you wherever
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: you are. Just know, don't forget about Kaylee.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: Please.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: We will help make sure that doesn't happen. And I'm
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: also going to send you the name of another organization.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I'll tell you it's called Life the Way. I met
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: them at the podcast festival a couple weeks ago. Amazing organization.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: I will send you their information and contact. I don't
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: know what all their resources are, but the empathy and
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: these women made me wish I could do more because
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: they are just amazing with everything. So I want you.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Let me just say, you're the first person it's really
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: reached out.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Thank you, Thank you.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Nobody has reached out to try to help, but you did.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: I can't, I mean, I can't not. I mean I've
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: told this story before with the Chase Lackey case. I
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: don't like missing person cases because I need an answer
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: and I get very involved. I have this heart, and
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: when it connects to that heart, I just can't help
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: it that I want to help. And I also can't
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: stand law enforcement not doing their job and thinking, oh, well,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: it's not a perfect victim, so we're not going to
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: do as much.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: Now that you're saying that real quick, do you remember
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: when that real estate agent went missing and her husband
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: put her out in the field out here in Baytown
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: and they found her and they found Okay, that's.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: A perfect model. They found her. Didn't feel.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: Yeah, she was a perfect not the perfect, but the
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: profile the profile now, so profiling that's.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: What I'm getting in between the lines. Yes, that's what I'm.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Saying, and what I'm going to say. I do know
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: law enforcement does a lot behind the scenes and they
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: can't tell you. I know that for a fact. But
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: with that, I think they need to do a better
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: job of communicating that and saying, hey, Casey, we are
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: doing five things. We're doing five things. I can't tell
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: you what those five things are because we need to
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: protect the integrity of the case.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I just stopped getting phone calls all together. And
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: that's not Okay, I'm the only one that is trying
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: to communicate, and then I'm not getting any answers anymore.
- 1:10:36Speaker 3: It's like we're done.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we're gonna all keep doing what we're doing.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: I want to ask you to remember to take care
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: of yourself during this time. I know you've got the
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: four other girls. I know you've got a husband, you've
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: just moved. You also just recently had a death in
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: the family. You are in my thoughts and prayers because
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: I don't know how you are sitting there right now
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: it together. I would not be able to. So I
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: admire you for being able to do that, and I
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: hope that I would have that courage and strength.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Thanks so thank you. Because everybody's saying the Lord can't
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: put too much on you, then you can't handle.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: I've been told that my whole life, and I'm gonna
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: have to tell you. I don't know how.
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: I don't like to hear it because I'm sitting there
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: looking at you, and I'm thinking, God, I think she's
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: had enough.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: If that's truly the thing she's done, she's at capacity.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Don't do anymore because I don't know how I feel
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: it out, but that but my heart goes out to you.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Please reach out anytime, day or night if you need anything, Okay, anytime,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: feel free to reach out. And once again, I thank
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: you very much for coming on today. Would you like
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: to see anything before we leave? Oh did I lose you? Well,
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: it looks like you froze, Yeah that whole time.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: Well, thank you very much, and I want to thank
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: everyone for joining us today and I look forward to
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: seeing you all again on Monday for our next episode
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: of Midday Missing. I want to give everyone a task,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: and I want to ask you all to go share
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Kaylee's missing post and flyer on every social media you have.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: I want you to tag Baytown in Fort Bin County. Yes.
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: And also there's a group I made called find Kaylee Goodwin.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Yes, and I'll joy enjoy the Facebook group. Stay there,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: and let's get the word out. Let's put the pressure
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: because let me tell you, the east side of Houston,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Baytown I consider part of Houston. It's a big community.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: There's a lot of people on social media. Let's flood
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: social media. Let's make it to wear any officer on
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: their break who's looking at Facebook's going damn again. Let's
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: do that. Okay, guys, So until next time, I want
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: to ask everyone to please stay safe and watch out
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: for crime, but most importantly, right now, I want you
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: to keep an eye out for Kayley and let's try
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: to find her and bring her home. Thank you, Kase,
