Transcript
- 0:41What's what's up, everybody? It's your boy Kefi.
- 0:45It's Friday night, Friday the 13th.
- 0:49That's psycho. Not Friday the 13th.
- 0:50It's the weekly ritual Ghost cult mags, rock metal news show
- 0:53everywhere in the world, streaming all over the web,
- 0:57podcast, YouTube, whatnot. I had some technical
- 1:00difficulties the last 25 minutes.
- 1:03I should have went live earlier. I'm working on a better schedule
- 1:07going live on Friday. This show is usually live on
- 1:10Thursday. It's been Friday the last few
- 1:13weeks. I hope that's cool with
- 1:14everybody. The best experience for this
- 1:16show, if you're new, here is YouTube where you can give us
- 1:19super chat, super likes, become a member, get all our interview
- 1:22videos and our preview videos 1st and as well as Twitch,
- 1:27Instagram, Facebook, and I'm hanging out on TikTok because I
- 1:31like it so much. But yeah, this is your
- 1:34conversation. This is my conversation.
- 1:36Feel free to join in. We are here every week.
- 1:40What we do is 24/7 Rocket Metal news.
- 1:44We interview bands all over the world.
- 1:46We cover metal festivals and tours.
- 1:48We've got a whole bunch of shows to cover this weekend all over
- 1:51the world. I think 3 or 4 tomorrow.
- 1:53We had one last night in New York.
- 1:56It's just a lot. We'll drop the tip menu in just
- 1:59a bit. We are an independent music
- 2:03journalistic endeavour, so we're a small business, so your
- 2:07support helps us survive. We're trying to build a real
- 2:11community. There's so much fake news and
- 2:13bullshit out there that I honestly can't take it.
- 2:16Bella Kiss is here. Thanks for checking out our
- 2:17profile earlier. Bella Kiss Rosa May Alagno is
- 2:21here. What up, What up, Thank you.
- 2:23Thank you for being here and thanks to you.
- 2:26Let's see, he saves the world passing by.
- 2:28What up, homie? Decino Anthony.
- 2:32Chris Doe, bass Rubber band man. What up, What up, What up, What
- 2:36up. Happy Friday.
- 2:37Thanks for being here late on a Friday for both of y'all in the
- 2:42world, but just Friday night here for me.
- 2:45So without further ado, I'm I'm going to play.
- 2:49Actually, I have a new thing and Melissa's here, my fiance is
- 2:52here. I'm getting married, y'all.
- 2:54I'm so excited. So this is pretty great.
- 3:01I'm going to. I started doing a thing a couple
- 3:03of weeks ago where I share the worst comments we've got in a
- 3:08week on social media, mostly directed at me, often because
- 3:12I'm kind of the face of the brand.
- 3:13Although we have, you know, 60 people all over the world who do
- 3:17this. And I interview bands on YouTube
- 3:18and a bunch of other people do too.
- 3:20But I seem to get the most ire directed at me, and sometimes
- 3:23rightfully so. And I'm OK with that.
- 3:26It's no biggie. So we always start the show with
- 3:30some announcements, and I've got a few good ones this week.
- 3:34We are still giving away tickets.
- 3:36If you're in California or Arizona or Nevada or within
- 3:40striking distance of LA or you just love Echo and the Bunnymen,
- 3:44you could win a pair of tickets to see Echo and the Bunnymen in
- 3:46just two months. Two months from now.
- 3:49I'm getting married in in four months from now, which is crazy.
- 3:53But two months from now, Echo and the Bunnymen are playing the
- 3:55Greek Theatre in in Los Angeles. Incredible venue.
- 3:59We have one here in the Bay Area as well and you can win a pair
- 4:04of tickets to see them. They are doing kind of the
- 4:06greatest hits tour which is amazing.
- 4:08This weekend in New York already underway, the international
- 4:12Vocking Metal Battle of the bands to play at Vocking Open
- 4:16Air and open the humongous world's biggest metal festival.
- 4:20We are a long time media partner of Vocking Metal Battle.
- 4:23What does that mean? We share all the news, we
- 4:26promote the events and this time we're taking part in one of the
- 4:29events. My co-owner, Omar Cordy, is
- 4:31currently at the Vacant Metal Battle right now in Brooklyn,
- 4:35judging the bands. 6 bands tonight, 6 bands tomorrow.
- 4:38So if you're in the New York City area, pause on the screen,
- 4:41check out the Flyers, check out our socials where we've shared
- 4:44those posts. And you can perhaps attend and
- 4:48support your friends that play in bands and discover some cool
- 4:51new bands. And some of them may go on to do
- 4:53phenomenal, fantastic things all over the world.
- 4:57All right, continuing, continuing.
- 5:00You know, I I'm trying hard not to dwell on too much bad news or
- 5:05sad news, but of course, this week would have been the
- 5:08birthday of the one and only Vinnie Paul Vincent.
- 5:10Paul Abbott of Pantera. Hell yeah.
- 5:13Damage plan. I got to meet Vinnie once.
- 5:15I saw Pantera many times and saw.
- 5:17Hell, yeah, a few times. I saw damage plan the one time
- 5:21right before Daryl was killed. Love Vinnie.
- 5:25One of the greatest drummers ever.
- 5:27Pantera is amazing, still amazing music and we're still
- 5:31feeling his loss. Just sort of on a minor note,
- 5:35New York City area people of which we have an abundance that
- 5:37follow us because I used to be, you know, I'm from the area and
- 5:40I used to live there. Long time ABC News anchor Ernie
- 5:44Anastas died. He put together like one of the
- 5:46best 10 or 11 year runs in history in television news.
- 5:51Guy was brilliant and a great news man.
- 5:54Thank you, E Love to see you. Yeah.
- 5:56Karaoke. We thanks so much.
- 5:59Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:01Glad to see you. I hope you're well.
- 6:03I miss you. When we get back east, hopefully
- 6:06later this year, we will look you up because you live in the
- 6:08same area as my bestie, My other bestie besides the one I'm
- 6:11marrying with another BFF. But yeah, we're doing a big
- 6:14Oscar party karaoke this week. I'll show you the flyer in a
- 6:17second. It's pretty hilarious.
- 6:20So anyway, rest in power to Vinnie Paul, Jello Biafra.
- 6:24Last week we had done the show also on Friday and we found out
- 6:27Monday, that Saturday, if you follow that logic, Jello had a
- 6:31stroke in his home. He is going to make a recovery.
- 6:35He's rehabbing. Generally speaking, he's going
- 6:38to be OK. But you know, pretty scary stuff
- 6:40as guys like myself. I'm getting older and
- 6:42everybody's getting older and you know, my goal, one of my
- 6:45dreams is to meet Jello in person.
- 6:47Since I moved to the Bay Area, I've seen him at shows.
- 6:49I've seen him jump on stage and do Dead Kennedy songs with punk
- 6:53bands and metal bands. But I've never got to meet him.
- 6:56Just man on the street. So I hope he recovers and I
- 6:58still get to fulfill my wish. Also, the band Filth, I've
- 7:04interviewed them last year, Southeastern deathcore band from
- 7:10North Carolina. They we're in a terrible van
- 7:15accident. The band is OK, most of their
- 7:17gear is OK, most of their merch is OK.
- 7:19Their van was totaled. They're currently on tour.
- 7:21They rented an RV but the van repair or replacement is going
- 7:25to cost a fortune. There's already been a GoFundMe
- 7:28set up. There's a link in our
- 7:29description or in our link tree to our description in our
- 7:34socials where you can donate to them.
- 7:37And you know, just again, not our real ones or everydayers or
- 7:40our real life friends, but anybody out there feeling tipsy,
- 7:43We appreciate your tips. They help pay the bills.
- 7:46We take every penny we make from Gozco and we put it back into
- 7:50the brand so I can go to festivals and we can pay for
- 7:54tools and social media things and video editing software and
- 7:57all the things because this shit ain't free and it takes a lot of
- 8:00work and a lot of person inwards.
- 8:03So I just dropped the tip menu. If you feel like tipping.
- 8:05Hey, Steve Slazilla, Steve is here, Jamie Blevins, James Matt,
- 8:15some folks, some everydayers and real ones.
- 8:18I appreciate y'all, but thanks E you're very much missed and
- 8:23loved here in San Francisco in the Bay Area, EE town concrete.
- 8:29Fuck the world, because the world fucked me.
- 8:32All right, here's our Cash App in case you're feeling tipsy.
- 8:35Moving right along. It's time for the features.
- 8:37And the features this week are fun.
- 8:40So here's this. I'm going to start doing this
- 8:42thing where I read my hate mail during the show.
- 8:45I did a live stream. We're going to talk about it in
- 8:48a minute. This week where I reviewed the
- 8:49new Lamb of God album out today. Going to talk a lot about Lamb
- 8:52of God this week on the show. Jesus, just talk about the damn
- 8:56record, dude. And I wrote that.
- 8:58Cool dude. Thanks for the help of the
- 9:00algorithm. Getty Lee's Owl nose, which
- 9:03seems kind of racist. I know he calls himself that,
- 9:05and I think he's got a little EP called that also.
- 9:08But, you know, I'm out here trying to do the thing.
- 9:12At least I'm trying to do something creative and positive
- 9:16to uplift the music community. But go ahead, pick on me,
- 9:21douchebags. Anyway, we announced our album
- 9:25of the month and it's Pussifer normal.
- 9:28Isn't this is for February? The March album of the month
- 9:32will be announced in early April.
- 9:34Funny enough, after I shared it on Instagram, Maynard James
- 9:37Keenan of Pussifer shared our post which is really awesome and
- 9:42read it doesn't often happen so thanks.
- 9:45I am The Briefcase AKA Maynard James Keenan for sharing our
- 9:48post Other features. This week I got to check another
- 9:53one off the bucket list. I have not yet interviewed
- 9:55Maynard of Tool Puscifer in a Perfect Circle, but I have
- 9:59interviewed Sebastian Bach. High School me would have been
- 10:02stoked because I love Skid Row and Baz was awesome.
- 10:05You know, I think a lot of people do bad interviews with
- 10:08Baz for whatever reason. They're trying to be
- 10:10antagonistic and get click bait. But he's a delight.
- 10:13Actually, Maybe I'm not in a band with him so I don't know
- 10:16him off stage, but he kills it still.
- 10:19His recent album Child Within the Man is out now he's going on
- 10:23tour. I hope we cover the tour.
- 10:25Really cool. I was really proud of this one.
- 10:28Also this week I got to interview Todd Severin of Ripple
- 10:33Music. He's the founder and Co founder
- 10:35and leader of Ripple Music, the great Stoner metal label,
- 10:42psychedelic rock, Stoner doom. I attended the Ripple Music 15th
- 10:46anniversary party. I did not have a piece of that
- 10:49cake, but I did buy a shirt and I did support all the bands that
- 10:53night and I got to meet Todd in person which was amazing.
- 10:56We have probably been in a lot of the same shows.
- 10:59Also, just recent interviews. In addition to Alex Skolnick of
- 11:02Testament and William Duvall of Alice In Chains, we interviewed
- 11:06Necro Fire, the Great American black metal band from Houston.
- 11:11Their upcoming Hell's Heroes festival is next weekend.
- 11:15We'll be talking about that on the show next week.
- 11:17But a lot of fun stuff also. We did the premiere, the debut
- 11:22album of Salt Lake City's cosmic black metal band, Aussie Osmium
- 11:26Gate, and their new album Cannibal Galaxy.
- 11:29We streamed it in full. You can still check it out at
- 11:31our site. And killer band.
- 11:34I'm super hype about this. We still have kind of our
- 11:37original mandate, which is to support and uplift underground
- 11:42bands. Nice.
- 11:46EE saves the world with the E town concrete lyrics.
- 11:50Joni Romans is here and Neko Records is here.
- 11:55What up? What up, What up?
- 11:58So yeah, fun times, lots of fun times.
- 12:01Let's see what else? What else happened this week?
- 12:03What happened? Morrissey.
- 12:05I have a love hate relationship with Morrissey.
- 12:08I don't like Morrissey. He's a terrible person.
- 12:10I love The Smiths. So Morrissey put out a new solo
- 12:13album, and Our Own Will Suffer did sort of a hybrid review
- 12:19slash analysis of his career, his recent career, comparing his
- 12:23solo work to The Smiths and giving kind of a loving overview
- 12:28of the new record that is actually apparently good.
- 12:31I did hear a couple of songs and I was quite impressed.
- 12:33I normally don't want to give my attention to people when there's
- 12:36so many deserving bands, but I thought this thing was written
- 12:40so well and done so smart that I had to share it.
- 12:45I'm sure if I didn't share it, he just posted on his own blog.
- 12:47You can follow Will at Abysmal Hymns wherever you listen to
- 12:50podcasts. I sometimes pop up on that
- 12:52podcast. I think I will be doing an
- 12:54episode with Will soon. More episodes on Ghost Cults
- 12:58podcast coming up soon with our own staff.
- 13:01I'm trying to spend more time highlighting and accentuating
- 13:03our staff this year because it's just, you know, as a volunteer
- 13:07enterprise, you can't pay people in credit or exposure, but what
- 13:11you can do is get people to support them.
- 13:14And as I mentioned, hurry up and speak about the record already.
- 13:17Dumbass Lamb of God into oblivion out now we have a deep
- 13:21dive review on our website. I did an in depth review here on
- 13:25YouTube and streaming and podcasts which you can check out
- 13:28now if you're on the fence. The album fucking slaps as the
- 13:31kids say. Also here's that poster E
- 13:35Karaoke Sundays continues every Sunday with me and my Co host
- 13:39Chris. This week we're doing an Oscar
- 13:41party. You know, we're not watching the
- 13:43Oscars, but what we're going to do is everybody that sings a
- 13:45song from a movie, you will get a prize.
- 13:48I have amassed a bunch of prizes, some cool stuff, some
- 13:51fancy stuff, some not fancy stuff, but just a cool thing to
- 13:54do in general. I will sing some metal and rock
- 13:57songs from movies and maybe a few other surprises.
- 14:00Chris will also as well. Chris is quite the cinephile so
- 14:04we're going to have a good time. If you're in the Bay Area, come
- 14:07on by first five people to show up, get a free drink.
- 14:11Just a reminder, we have a podcast.
- 14:12This show is a podcast. All our interviews and content
- 14:15are podcasts. And sometimes we have exclusive
- 14:18stuff on podcasts, including our recent interview with Warren
- 14:21Haynes of Allman Brothers and Government Mule and our upcoming
- 14:24interview with Kirk Winstein of Crowbar, which will be just on
- 14:27our podcast. So Sign up today.
- 14:30And because I don't have enough to do, I have another job.
- 14:33That job is the glacially musical porn cast, beer medal,
- 14:35and swearing. This week for a Chaser episode,
- 14:39we took a deep dive. Look at the Rock and Roll Hall
- 14:42of Fame. Is it BS?
- 14:44Is it not? Will Iron Maiden get in?
- 14:46I don't know. Will other people get in?
- 14:48I don't know. But we handicapped and
- 14:50forecasted the entire thing. For better or worse.
- 14:53We'll find out in three weeks who gets in Iron Maiden gets in
- 14:57will be riot. Some of the some of the choices
- 14:59are just bizarre and some of the nominees are bizarre.
- 15:02Like I don't know who's listening to this music, like
- 15:05what the fuck? But anyway, now it's time for
- 15:07the news rundown and we always start with metal festivals.
- 15:11Let me take a drink of my liquid death.
- 15:13I don't know if anybody has checked out the new Liquid Death
- 15:22energy drinks, but yeah, Strum Rock is here also.
- 15:27What's up? What's up?
- 15:29Let's see, what else? Metal festivals.
- 15:32Let's go work. Torrents now completely
- 15:37announced their lineups for Montreal and Mexico City.
- 15:42So we're waiting on Washington DC, Long Beach and Orlando for
- 15:45the final reveal And and then we'll do a big rundown of them
- 15:50all. Maybe talk about maybe I'll do a
- 15:53live stream about it. Mojave Experiences next week and
- 15:57I am going this time next week. I will be at the Mojave
- 16:00Experience at Joshua Tree. I'm so pumped.
- 16:03There's a Friday night pre party at Yuka Gold and then Saturday
- 16:06all day at the festival. If you're coming, this going to
- 16:09sell out, but there's still some tickets, Earthless, Dead Meadow,
- 16:14John Garcia, Acid King and many more.
- 16:16I'm going to interview some of these bands.
- 16:18Hopefully we're going to have a table with free merch from Ghost
- 16:21Cult and other things and feel free to come check it out.
- 16:25Also Speaking of Stone of the Rock, psychedelic rock and doom
- 16:28planet, Desert Rock Weekend 7 has been announced.
- 16:31I really would like to get to one of these in Vegas end of
- 16:34January. Greenleaf Black Rainbows Steak,
- 16:38A kind of interesting Black Rainbows.
- 16:40Leader is the head of Heavy Psych Sounds label Steaks Leader
- 16:43is that singer is the head of Desert Fest.
- 16:47Sergeant Thunder Huff from Europe coming back this year.
- 16:50Humilist Brimstone Coven child droids attack Sun Drifter.
- 16:54Carson Shun Florist. Winds of Neptune at the Usual
- 16:59place, which is the actual name of the place.
- 17:01The Usual place in Las Vegas, January 28th to the 31st 2027.
- 17:09Also, this looks really cool. Emissions from the Monolith 10th
- 17:15anniversary. This is in October in
- 17:18Youngstown, OH. Transmission, One Dead Bird,
- 17:21Disengaged Generation of Vipers, Rebreather, Solace, Stinking
- 17:27Lizabeda, Sunrat, Telekinetic, Yeti, and more.
- 17:30Love these bands on day 2. Cavity, EE, Truly, Great Falls
- 17:38High, Desert Queen, Horse Burner.
- 17:40I love these bands. Howling Giant.
- 17:42I'm going to see them soon. Kowloon, Wall city from the Bay
- 17:45Area, Oakland, Oaktown, What's up?
- 17:48Lake Lake Wake, Shun, Thunder Chief, Today is the day, Winds
- 17:54of Neptune and more to come. Might have to cover this also.
- 17:59Also this looks really cool. Brought to you by Stoke Coffee.
- 18:04This is the side stage of beach life.
- 18:08Festival is always acoustic pumpkin and hardcore people.
- 18:12So Mike Watt, Jim Lindberg of Pennywise, Jen Pop, Jason
- 18:18Devore, Water Tower, The Sprouts, Righteous Waves, Jackie
- 18:24Wasserman, Jonah Nimoy, Chad Smith, Lisa Johnson, Lisa
- 18:30Brownlee, Jason Abrams. This is a really good lineup on
- 18:33top of Beach Life Fest that always has kind of decent to
- 18:38decent rock and punk artists. That was too decent and not a
- 18:46not a great, but I think it's a pretty good line up if you like
- 18:48that kind of thing. I think being on the beach
- 18:51physically for a festival could be really hard on your back and
- 18:54knees. I'm getting to that age.
- 18:56I was in bed last weekend. Nothing dirty, but I was in bed
- 19:00last weekend and I like hurt my shoulder trying to hug my
- 19:04fiance. What a fucking mess.
- 19:06How do you get injured laying in bed?
- 19:08I did fuck all right. Hellfest.
- 19:12Not the French Hellfest that happens every year in Clison,
- 19:16France outside of Paris, but Hellfest, the punchy, punchy
- 19:19hardcore festival from New Jersey, brought to you by Trust
- 19:22Kill Records. I know there's like a competing
- 19:23Hellfest now where the original Hellfest founder feels like he
- 19:27got the thing taken away from him.
- 19:29Hatebreed. Glass Jaw, First Blood, Bay Way,
- 19:34VO, D100, Demons, tons and tons and tons of bands already
- 19:40announced for this thing and more to come.
- 19:42Hate Breed. I think he's doing a special set
- 19:44of their first EPN album and there's a bunch of other special
- 19:48announcements coming there. This also looks really cool
- 19:52coming to Brooklyn in May Total bummer fest.
- 19:55It's kind of like an 80s festival right?
- 19:56Dinosaur, Junior Blonde, Redhead, Meat Puppets, Flipper.
- 19:59These are bands that I saw growing up.
- 20:02And then on the May 31st, Jesus and Mary Chain, Julie, they are
- 20:07gutting a body of water. Just a bunch of cool bands.
- 20:12A bunch of cool bands that's curated by my homie David
- 20:17Castillo of Confines and Primitive Weapons.
- 20:23Not that I cared this much about this, but this is the second
- 20:25time I've mentioned Outside Lands.
- 20:27They did release the daily schedule so if you really want
- 20:30to see turnstile at this thing at Golden Gate Park, I could see
- 20:34Friday being fun with Charli Xex and Turnstile.
- 20:38Also, Glorilla Geese, Modest Mouse Leg, Wet, Wet Leg, Sorry,
- 20:43Tinashe and a few others and these spits and people like
- 20:48that. The rest of this festival isn't
- 20:50do much for me, but if this is your kind of thing, go check it
- 20:53out. All right, that's all the
- 20:55festivals this week. Next week we're going to talk a
- 20:56lot more about Mojave Experience.
- 20:58I might do a live stream about Mojave Experience.
- 21:00I'm definitely might live stream from the area, and I'm
- 21:05definitely going to be posting a lot of stuff on social media.
- 21:09Metallica. So we've been talking a lot
- 21:11about Metallica this year. The band has announced that they
- 21:14don't have any further planned shows right now to add on to the
- 21:17current dates. They're beyond stoked that 20 of
- 21:20those shows sold out quickly, even before the public on sale
- 21:25in most cases. Some people did in fact get in
- 21:28and get cheaper tickets, but the majority of the tickets were
- 21:31$1000 and up. The vast majority of them, like
- 21:3485% of the tickets, were over $1000 for people each.
- 21:39That's not counting travel. That's not counting how
- 21:40expensive Vegas is. Nothing.
- 21:43The band did say they were saddened and frustrated that
- 21:45fans felt frustrated about the process, that the technical
- 21:49stuff didn't work. And they're hoping when they
- 21:51announce more Sphere shows in the future but not directly
- 21:55following this current amount, they will do it again.
- 21:57Apparently someday, because it's astronomically profitable for
- 22:01them. And you know, the Sphere.
- 22:03I'm sure they'll do it again. They hope it goes better, but
- 22:07really not a great answer. Last time Metallica was caught
- 22:09in some chicanery bullshit like this, they added a second show
- 22:13or additional shows to pay back the fans and locked in prices
- 22:17and things like that. No chance of them doing that
- 22:19this time. Bummer, fucking bummer.
- 22:22Lamb of God again, New album out.
- 22:24They are playing a $15 show in Philly tomorrow, Saturday at the
- 22:30Theater of Living Arts. I've been there.
- 22:32Fun place. Lamb of God and fit for an
- 22:34autopsy. Oh sorry.
- 22:35Sunday, March 15th, my apologies.
- 22:37And there will be 50 tickets available at the door if you get
- 22:41there early and stand out there all day.
- 22:43The rest of the tickets have been sold out.
- 22:44I've been to that place that doesn't hold that many.
- 22:47It's kind of a small venue, but fun to see Lamb of God and a
- 22:50tiny place again like that would be Red Kale.
- 22:54Switch Engage is heading out soon with Machine Head, Iron
- 22:57Reagan and Havoc. We talked about this recently.
- 23:00Machine Head will come up again in a few minutes.
- 23:02Smash into pieces. Cool band featuring members of
- 23:06Within Temptation have European and Sweden tour dates and
- 23:10festivals booked for the summer. They've been putting out new
- 23:12music at a pretty interesting clip.
- 23:13Kind of singles at like few singles at a time.
- 23:16Basically. Gozer is here.
- 23:18What's up, everybody? Bella Kiss is here.
- 23:21Kenny. What up, brother?
- 23:22Kenny Hickey of Sun Don't shine formerly of forever of typo
- 23:27negative, I guess. Great to see you on the tick of
- 23:30the talk See who's hanging out Rub a mint.
- 23:33Total bummer. Looks sick, right man, the
- 23:36hellfest flyer is crazy. Alicia making a comeback.
- 23:39I did not Ken Compton Bach is here.
- 23:41I did not have Alicia coming back ever.
- 23:43I think that was I'm pretty sure there was like some fucking
- 23:46acrimony with those guys and I'm really shocked that they are
- 23:49coming back. But you know, it's not because
- 23:51of money because they're playing that festival probably for free,
- 23:54but like they'll sell some merch if they make any.
- 23:56Co CS got a lot of big news. This tour is kicking off soon.
- 23:59COC Whores and Crowbots, some awesome bands that I love.
- 24:05More COC news in a second. Drain has announced a headline
- 24:11tour. Drain is your friend.
- 24:12Album is out now. I have that record from last
- 24:14year. No pressure.
- 24:15Haywire, it's secret world. Drain put out an anti ICE shirt
- 24:20that I got to say has raised $40,000 for immigrant families
- 24:25in need of legal aid and other benefits.
- 24:28So that is super cool. You know, you just, you know,
- 24:35you like to see, there's a lot of charity stuff going on.
- 24:38There's a lot of people talking a lot of shit but not putting
- 24:41their money where their fucking mouth is in any fucking way.
- 24:45But yeah, Sepultura will soon kick off their continuing
- 24:54celebrating Life Through Death farewell tour, their final
- 24:57dates. Supposedly.
- 24:58We keep hearing that and then they keep booking more, but good
- 25:01for them. Sepultura, Exodus, Biohazard.
- 25:04This is like a tour out of my and I think Tribal Gaze.
- 25:07This is like a tour out of my dreams.
- 25:10I love all these band. New down album on the way for
- 25:13sure. It's going to get announced
- 25:14soon. I was surprised they put that
- 25:15cover out, Ken, but it's pretty great.
- 25:18So it'd be interesting to see COC and Down touring at the same
- 25:21time. And Crowbar and I hate God,
- 25:23because we know those bands are all coming on tour.
- 25:26More to come on those. All right, Sacred Reich will
- 25:30continue over in Europe, kicking off this summer.
- 25:33Some pretty killer opening bands with them.
- 25:36This new Sacred Reich album, yet to be announced, but hopefully
- 25:39coming soon. Big fan right here.
- 25:41The Amman Kak tour is coming soon in April.
- 25:44We'll be talking about this a lot in the future.
- 25:46Believe we'll be covering this at the kickoff date in Tucson.
- 25:50Machine Head once again has announced a evening with
- 25:54European Tour soon to kick off. They have been sharing a lot of
- 25:57live videos along with the some of their festival appearances
- 26:00the last couple of years. And today they brought back
- 26:03their electric happy hours on Friday.
- 26:06And they are they did a run through like a complete play
- 26:10through today of the more Things change, their classic second
- 26:13album that I'm a humongous fan of love machine Head and they
- 26:17put out some merch for that. You know, they're very clever
- 26:20and smart when it comes to marketing and merch.
- 26:22They own their own merch company, 10 ton merchandising,
- 26:25very, you know, shout out to them.
- 26:28Guess Rocks has got a North American tour already under way
- 26:33and perhaps we'll catch this tour.
- 26:35Unsure yet. Also, with the Pussifer tour
- 26:38looming we have some Pussifer news coming up soon.
- 26:41Pussifers. I don't know.
- 26:44Pussifers also are like I said, our album of the month for
- 26:47February. They're going to do some wine
- 26:49tastings, Caduceus Sellers and Merkin Vineyards pre show wine
- 26:53tasting events. I don't know if the band will be
- 26:55there but could be cool. Phoenix, Austin.
- 26:59Dallas, Asheville, NC. Durham, NC.
- 27:02St. Louis, MO Saint Louis again at
- 27:06another place maybe two days a day apart.
- 27:09Kansas City and Red Rocks before the Red rocks Colorado show.
- 27:13Never been to red rocks. I would really love to go.
- 27:16Drug Shirts dropped a new single and they have announced a big
- 27:20tour for later this year in Europe in the fall with Downward
- 27:25and Liquid Mike. And some of them are festivals
- 27:29and for the most part it's headline dates.
- 27:32Good for them. Sheer noise records ban again.
- 27:35Sebastian Bopp just interviewed him, kicking off his headline
- 27:37tour soon. We hope to cover it.
- 27:39Love Baz. Also, as I mentioned Crowbar and
- 27:42I Hate God, not only do they have AUS tour, they're going
- 27:45back on tour. Crowbar has announced European
- 27:47Tour dates as well. I didn't have a poster handy.
- 27:50I'm going to actually miss this Crowbar I Hate God show when it
- 27:53is around the corner from my house because I'm busy hosting
- 27:57karaoke. Why do these shows on Sunday in
- 27:59San Francisco put it on a Friday?
- 28:04Whitechapel has announced some tour dates for later this year,
- 28:07headline tour dates and later this year in early 27.
- 28:10Already thinking to 2027. I do believe Whitechapel will
- 28:13have a new album soon, even though they had one not too long
- 28:16ago. Kind of cool, kind of cool.
- 28:20All right, what else? What else?
- 28:22PSY has announced their first tour in like 20 years.
- 28:26Melissa texted me was like, this logo is giving me a headache.
- 28:30I didn't put the poster in here, but Tsai is one of the great
- 28:34Japanese doom bands of all time. I've been lucky enough to see
- 28:38them once way back in the day a long time ago, and I never
- 28:42thought they would really get back here again because it's so
- 28:44expensive and hard to tour here because the US, we make it hard
- 28:48on everyone. Nobody expects The Wolverine.
- 28:52That's right, The Wolverine. Just take this in for a second
- 28:55and look at this while I take a drink.
- 28:57Like whoever did this is a goddamn genius, the way you make
- 29:05me. Anyway, once again, tip menu in
- 29:10case you feel and tipsy. Time to talk about Fable Beard.
- 29:15I don't have much of my Fable Beard products with me, but I
- 29:18have them on me. My beard has been getting a lot
- 29:20of compliments. Last week I unboxed a bunch of
- 29:23Fable beard merch. I have the Father Time beard
- 29:27balm right here in my hands here.
- 29:30I don't think anybody can see me off the screen.
- 29:33Hey yo, I got the father Time beard balm right here.
- 29:37Between this and the new beard butter and the beard oils and
- 29:40the coal wash, my beard is doing about as well as ever.
- 29:44I really would love to grow a long long ass beard like a real
- 29:47father time beard, but this stuff has been helping.
- 29:51My facial hair is at least healthier than it has ever been.
- 29:54I still have no hair up here, so cats all the time.
- 29:57But you know, whatever. Hats off to Fable Beard for
- 30:00hooking it up. Other affiliate partners we have
- 30:02of course include the Lamb Goat Media Network.
- 30:04You know, Lamb Goat, the meaner version of Ghost Cult with the
- 30:06horrible, horrible, horrible comments section.
- 30:10But I will be honest with you, that comment section gets the
- 30:12millions of extra hits that we don't get because I don't do one
- 30:16because I don't have the heart to moderate that shit.
- 30:18But when you see advertising at ghostcultman.com, that is from
- 30:22Lamb Goat. Whenever we have big contest
- 30:25hookups, a lot of it comes from Lamb Goat.
- 30:27Check them out if you have anything you need to promote in
- 30:30general because they have a huge reach, but also especially if
- 30:33you have a metal band, a metal label, a metal store, a clothing
- 30:36brand, something that integrates with this vertical.
- 30:39These verticals to talk marketing speak to you.
- 30:42You need Lamb Goat for the power of good.
- 30:46Word of mouth better than word of mouth.
- 30:48And once again, shout out to my homie Craig Caruso of Caruso
- 30:51Apps. We've been having some issues
- 30:53with the I do the Yelves here. What's up?
- 30:55We've been having some issues with the website because, you
- 30:58know, we got a 14 year old website built on WordPress that
- 31:00was never meant to do all this shit.
- 31:02But Craig keeps us in business and going strong and I'm
- 31:06grateful for him. If you have any kind of
- 31:08business, Craig is a long time trusted friend and ally of Ghost
- 31:12Cult and I recommend him highly and once again, if you're
- 31:15watching this everywhere but TikTok, sorry, TikTok, you are
- 31:19watching this through the grace and the magic of stream yard.
- 31:21If you want to stream like we do get it hooked up from stream
- 31:24yard, and that is all that. Let us move on.
- 31:29We're on all the socials, twitch threads, blue sky, all the
- 31:33things. If you're there, give us a
- 31:35follow up. We'll follow you back when we're
- 31:36done here tonight. And now it's time for the rest
- 31:40of the news. I'm going to put the news back
- 31:42up in the corner. Hey, yo.
- 31:45All right, So Live Nation, OK, I, I've had a really great day
- 31:56overall, work really hard, but I, I'm going to lose my shit
- 32:02right now for a few minutes. So you're going to have to come
- 32:03along with this level of psychosis that I'm about to
- 32:07share with you all because this is my platform, this is my
- 32:10voice. Live Nation had their lawsuits
- 32:13settled, settled by the current U.S.
- 32:17Department of Justice, AKA no justice and barely a department
- 32:24for $280 million. Just to put that into
- 32:26perspective, Live Nation, Ticketmaster, whatever they own,
- 32:29they make about $280 million every four days.
- 32:34So that is bullshit to them. They gave a couple of 100
- 32:38million to the current president's campaign on the idea
- 32:43that this would happen. I know he talked a lot of shit
- 32:46with Kid Rock that they were going to call Live Nation to
- 32:49account. Even the slap on the wrist they
- 32:52got before the pandemic when everybody got like $2.50 or $10
- 32:55vouchers that were almost unusable.
- 32:58I mean, do you remember all that?
- 33:02I can't believe these guys got away with that.
- 33:04They're being forced to sell off like 10 venues that they use
- 33:07part time that are in disrepair. Oh gosh, Oh no, don't make them
- 33:12pay. I mean, you know how like, I
- 33:15can't believe that I can and I can't, you know, like, I cannot
- 33:20believe the level of greed and incompetence and stupidity by
- 33:24our government for not nailing these fuckers.
- 33:29And listen, we work with Live Nation.
- 33:31We cover Live Nation shows. I'm appreciative of that.
- 33:34I used to be a concert photographer.
- 33:36They own all the venues. They own the two biggest
- 33:39companies. They own the entire resale
- 33:41market outside of like StubHub and Game Time.
- 33:45They are the number one reseller of tickets.
- 33:48They are in bed with a bunch of bands to hike up the price of
- 33:52tickets. The dynamic pricing is fucking
- 33:55evil and I cannot fucking believe that another fucking
- 33:59year is going to go by and no one is going to call these guys
- 34:02to account. Fuck this company.
- 34:05I have to use them because if we want to go cover festivals and
- 34:09shows, they run the venues, the marketing, the ticketing,
- 34:11everything. But it's utter bullshit.
- 34:15It's utter bullshit. You should call your congressmen
- 34:17and senators and ask them what the fuck happened because I
- 34:21don't understand why they fucking settled.
- 34:23What a crock of complete bullshit.
- 34:26Dillinger Compound is here. I'm sorry buddy.
- 34:29A little slow on the uptick here.
- 34:30The whole Metallica residencies in the debacle and screw
- 34:34libation. Testify brother.
- 34:35Thank you, thank you, thank you. Look man, I love Metallica and
- 34:39they're guilty of this shit too. They made a choice to make these
- 34:43tickets extremely high. They didn't have to.
- 34:45They could have made them less the Grateful Deads tickets with
- 34:49348 all in per ticket. I know Don de Lamont of Ghost
- 34:53Colts and talk in the talk with Don in southeast of heaven went
- 34:56three nights in a row with his wife.
- 34:57They're huge dead heads. This is their whole life and
- 34:59they didn't know the dead was going to, you know, that that
- 35:01Bob was going to die. And then we're probably going
- 35:03to, you know, re morph the band into something else without Bob.
- 35:07Bob knew he was sick. I don't think anybody else knew
- 35:11outside the band And you know, they paid for it.
- 35:14They are, you know, older and this is their band and that
- 35:17because, you know, they love, you know, their love for that
- 35:19band is ginormous. But like, fuck Ticketmaster,
- 35:24bro, Fuck them. And AEG is just as fucking bad.
- 35:28They're all kind of bad. They should not be allowed to do
- 35:31this. Oh, they're giving money back
- 35:32to, they're cutting the merch cot and they're going to give
- 35:35money to staff and crew and this and this and that.
- 35:38Yeah, it's all bullshit. That was all smoke and mirrors
- 35:41to, to burnish their reputation a little bit because it's
- 35:44literally polishing a fucking turd.
- 35:47I'm just ranting now. Anyway.
- 35:49Fuck libation. That's where I stand and you
- 35:51know what, if they hold it against us and we don't get to
- 35:53cover Live Nation shit anymore, there's plenty of underground
- 35:56bands that need support. So whatever the fuck.
- 36:00On to some positive news. The feel good story of the week.
- 36:03Jack Osbourne welcomed another daughter, I think it's his 5th
- 36:06or 6th on his second marriage and named his daughter Ozzy.
- 36:10His daughter, Ozzy Matilda Osbourne was born.
- 36:13I think she's 7 lbs four ounces. And apparently Ozzy was informed
- 36:19of the pregnancy that he would have another grandchild right
- 36:23before he passed away. So I know Ozzy was a loving
- 36:25grandfather to all Jack's children and Kelly's son.
- 36:28So Congrats, Jack, and there's a new Ozzy in the world.
- 36:34We only had to go like 8-9 months without an Ozzy Osbourne.
- 36:38There's a new Ozzy Osbourne. Maybe someday Ozzy Matilda
- 36:41Osbourne will become a huge singer.
- 36:43I don't know. Anything's possible.
- 36:45Lamb of God new album Into Oblivion is out now.
- 36:48We talked a lot about that pop up show merch levels are selling
- 36:51out of their vinyl. Absolutely one of the strongest
- 36:55records of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if it's
- 36:57the album of the year for some people.
- 37:00It might be mine. As my fiance and Melissa said,
- 37:03we have listened to it like 1520 times in in a little bit of time
- 37:07that it's before it came out because I got the pre stream as
- 37:10a press member. That's how I was able to do my
- 37:12review a few days ago. Check it out if you if you're on
- 37:14the fence. There are no skips, no filler.
- 37:18It's like under 40 minutes. It's absolutely fucking
- 37:20crushing. I'm really proud of them.
- 37:22I'm proud that I've been a fan of this band for 26 years.
- 37:26Devin Townsend has finally announced The Moth.
- 37:29He released a new single and visualizer.
- 37:33I have been part of Debbie's Patreon.
- 37:35If you haven't seen him post mostly on social media anymore.
- 37:38He moved everything over to Patreon where he has a great
- 37:41following. He is directly monetized by his
- 37:44fans. He's worked for this on this
- 37:46record for like parts of it for like 10 years.
- 37:48It's sort of like a rock opera with a concept story.
- 37:52I know that a lot of people are speculating and worried about
- 37:55Devin. He said he wasn't going to tour
- 37:57that much anymore as his children get older.
- 38:01But like, Debbie is incredible. He's had a tremendous career,
- 38:06like 9 lives like a cat, like almost like Bowie where he kind
- 38:09of or Madonna where the change change, change over time and
- 38:13stay kind of consistent for the most part but closer to Bowie
- 38:16except metal sometimes. I love Devin Townsend.
- 38:19I'm really excited because I've interviewed Devin Townsend a
- 38:21bunch of times. I look forward to possibly
- 38:23interviewing him again for the Moth if he's into it.
- 38:25But he is kind of shunning traditional media and stuff
- 38:29also. So I don't know if he will want
- 38:32to do an interview. But we've had a really great
- 38:33rapport over the years. So I'm really proud of that boy.
- 38:38Ghost fans, if there are Ghost fans watching and listening to
- 38:41this, are you OK? Besties, come talk to me.
- 38:44Let's, let's, let's have some real talk for a second.
- 38:46I know I've been wild with this Live Nation and Metallica sheep
- 38:49getting on me. But like, let's, let's bring it
- 38:52down for a second and, and talk directly.
- 38:55Ghost fans, I'm talking to you. Are you OK?
- 38:58Because Ghost apparently killed off Cardinal Copia in the latest
- 39:03Chapter 25 of their ongoing video saga.
- 39:06As we know, Tobias Ford said he's taking a break from the
- 39:09band, and he's going to kind of dial it all back for Ghosts for
- 39:12the next little while. And Ego Sebastos is here, and
- 39:18Peaceful Moon is here. So I'm going to just use my NPR
- 39:20voice and say, is everyone OK in Ghostland?
- 39:25You. It's OK if you're not OK.
- 39:27It was already not. They're not coming back for a
- 39:29long time, probably, unless there's some astronomical thing.
- 39:32And if they come back, they might not come back the way they
- 39:34were on this big arena tour. But they killed off your guy.
- 39:39Now, did they kill Papa VI? Don't think so.
- 39:42I think they just killed Cardinal Copia, Cardi C, because
- 39:46it was time. He's been around for a while.
- 39:49I know a lot of people have broken.
- 39:51Did I see the hacked photos of a Slack discussion between two
- 39:54employees who basically called? Yes.
- 39:56So I also heard about this Dillinger.
- 39:58Just to bring it back for a second.
- 39:59I I briefly saw that earlier today, but I had my head down on
- 40:02work and ghost cult and I just like, yeah, fuck them.
- 40:08I mean, I'm not surprised. Don't you, you know, like you
- 40:11know, we, we like this is not new.
- 40:15This is not new. The resentfulness of these
- 40:17corporate fucks. Listen, I worked in the
- 40:18corporate world for a long time, and I may yet again someday.
- 40:21But the reason I'm a refugee from that part of the world is
- 40:25because fuck the world. Fuck people, fuck business
- 40:29people. Carlin said it best about
- 40:31business people. Everybody is trying to fuck the
- 40:35other guy harder and faster before they figure out how to
- 40:38fuck him first or fuck them first.
- 40:39So fuck this anyway, Yes fuck those guys.
- 40:45Everybody leak everything WikiLeaks everything leaks leak
- 40:49the X Epstein files leak everybody.
- 40:52If I find out people I like and respect are in the files, fuck
- 40:55them too. Omar ghost cult like to say like
- 40:58oh what if that stuff about Maynard and Trent was true?
- 41:01We know that was all false where they were trying to be called
- 41:03out during the height of me too. But yeah, if it was proven that
- 41:07somebody I really love and respect was horrible, I would
- 41:10not follow them anymore or support them, plain and simple.
- 41:13But OK, Ghost fans are not OK. One thing that might cheer you
- 41:16up is that Super 7 is releasing a new pop up Perpetua Super 7.
- 41:25So that's coming soon. I believe it's the Ultimates
- 41:27version. So I have a few of these.
- 41:29I'm probably not going to get this one, but it's very sparkly.
- 41:33Rammstein. Rammstein is selling off gifts
- 41:37that have been given to them by fans.
- 41:39I cannot show most of them because they are fucking
- 41:41X-rated, but one of them is a penis shaped flute that
- 41:45apparently the band has never played because you have to put
- 41:48your lips on the you know what end.
- 41:50But Rammstein has a Rammstein store in Berlin where they sell
- 41:55their merch and stuff and their Balenciaga collabs and, you
- 41:58know, $800 Fanny packs and $1000 T-shirts if you're into such
- 42:03high fashion and things like that.
- 42:05I'm not love Rammstein. Don't know what the future is
- 42:08going to be of them two. Seems like Terrell is focusing
- 42:10on a solo career. But you know, I'd like to hear
- 42:13from them if they're going to do a new album or not.
- 42:16Don't know, but it'd be nice. All right.
- 42:20But yeah, Rammstein's store, if you're interested in these merch
- 42:23items, you can go look at them on their Instagram, including
- 42:25like crocheted monkey puppets and penis flutes and other
- 42:31probable used sex toys and things that would give in to
- 42:34them. Gross.
- 42:36Please wash your toys everybody. All right, just after a month, a
- 42:41month or two of Alyssa White Glues going solo and leaving
- 42:45Arch Enemy, AKA maybe being dismissed but leaving we don't
- 42:49know, and being replaced by Lauren Hart, formerly of Once
- 42:52Human. She has announced that her solo
- 42:54career is now taking the form of a all female band called Blue
- 42:58Medusa. She's got 2 ringers on guitar
- 43:02and some touring musicians for bass and drums.
- 43:04She work continues on her solo career.
- 43:07I wish her the best. I think she did a very nice job
- 43:10in Arch Enemy. It was a very tough position to
- 43:13come in there and follow Angela and listen like I.
- 43:18I take full accountability for the fact that we said that like
- 43:22maybe Angela was coming back. She's never been on.
- 43:26They're socials. They've never tagged Angela ever
- 43:28before since she left the band in 2011.
- 43:30And then suddenly they were tagging her in these teasers as
- 43:33the manager of the band. But, you know, people don't
- 43:35mostly know that. And she had been posting vocal
- 43:37covers and doing features the last couple of years and still
- 43:40sounding great. So I thought maybe Angela would
- 43:43come back for a reunion tour and do like a greatest hits thing.
- 43:45But no. And respect to her.
- 43:48Respect to her for that, too. Ghost Pipe is here laying the
- 43:52ghost pipe. Hey yo Puscifer one more bit of
- 43:56Puscifer news. The album of the month
- 43:58Normalizens is out now and they have released episode 2 of the
- 44:02Puscifer verse comic book. The first one sold out
- 44:05instantaneously and they have not mentioned if they can get
- 44:08one. If anyone out there can get me
- 44:09one at a reasonable price I will reward you handsomely and
- 44:14genuine generously if you can get me issue 1.
- 44:17I will not pay for 500 bucks for one on eBay.
- 44:19I don't collect comic books anymore outside of these music
- 44:22comic books. I occasionally I'll get a book
- 44:25or two that I like certain authors that I like, Garth
- 44:28Ennis, Jimmy Palmiotti, you know, but I just don't see
- 44:35myself going paying through the nose for this issue #1 if I,
- 44:39they don't repress it. But anyway, they also have a
- 44:43concurrent podcast hosted by Maynard AKA Dick Mirkin and they
- 44:49the puss in reverse expanding the Puscifer universe that will
- 44:53be also explored on the upcoming normal Izzet tour, which I'm
- 44:56pretty excited about. I'm going Jonathan Davis is
- 45:00going to vocalist of Korn is going to be a NASCAR Grand
- 45:05Marshall this week. Holy shit, a strange collab.
- 45:09I remember when Slayer had the NASCAR car and then it got
- 45:13yanked at the last second because of the outcry of
- 45:16Christian NASCAR fans. Jonathan, who has been a vocal
- 45:20critic of religion in general, who is in a band with several,
- 45:23you know, let's just call it politely, Jesus freaks.
- 45:27It's an interesting choice to have Corn, the front man of
- 45:31corn. But I love corn.
- 45:32And Corn is taking a long break, apparently, on making new music.
- 45:36But, you know, that doesn't mean they're done as a band forever
- 45:40and ever. Music management's here.
- 45:41What's up? What's up?
- 45:42And Zena Kozolkova is here. I hope I said that correctly.
- 45:46You sound like my people. All right, I love this photo
- 45:53just in. This is 6 feet under Chris
- 45:56Barnes and Jack O Owen, who kind of look like the young guy.
- 46:01The son is taking the dad to his first metal concert ever.
- 46:05And he's like, look, he did the thing.
- 46:06He did the dead. Because that's how Barnes sounds
- 46:10now. He sounds terrible.
- 46:12I know. He was the innovator and
- 46:13legendary singer of 6 feet. You know of Cannibal Corpse
- 46:18first first bunch of records and listen man respect.
- 46:22I don't know what I'll be doing in 10 years when I'm that old,
- 46:25but like, Oh my God, dude. Anyway, he he probably has the
- 46:30best weed though. Who do you think has the best
- 46:33drugs in all of music? Like heavy music?
- 46:36Like who has the best drugs? I would say probably Barnes has
- 46:40some of the best weed, surely. My dude from Insight gave us
- 46:50Richie Cavallera, gave us some weed dispensary recommendations
- 46:53for California and Arizona. And I've asked a couple of the
- 46:58Stoner bands about weed and they're always a little shy
- 47:00about that because they don't want to get stopped by cops.
- 47:02But yeah, you know, borence, you know, nothing personal,
- 47:05whatever. I met him in person and he was
- 47:07nice to me. But like, are you excited about
- 47:11a dude 6 feet Under record? I am not but OK let's see
- 47:16Megadeth celebrated. They have the number one Hard
- 47:18Rock and metal album in the world dethroning gorillas, which
- 47:21is humongous if you think about it.
- 47:24That is the first week sales from the farewell album and
- 47:27self-titled Megadeth record. They had a little intimate party
- 47:30in Nashville where they played in a small room in Nashville is
- 47:33now the home of both Dave Lumenzo and James Lumenzo and
- 47:39Dave Mustang. Don't know about Timo Mansari, I
- 47:43think he not a sorry, I think he still lives in Sweden.
- 47:47And of course Dirk for Burien is LA based New Megadeth?
- 47:52Megadeth on tour. They just wrapped up their tour
- 47:54of Canada with Exodus and Anthrax.
- 47:57That I'd be a new Anthrax song any day now.
- 48:00I hope it's for later in the year.
- 48:03This got me super hype. Aneka van Guisbergen, the the
- 48:07former and I guess current vocalist of The Gathering, has a
- 48:09new solo album out. She's got a sort of solo EP
- 48:12trilogy coming, so her new record is surprise dropping.
- 48:16Not a surprise if you tell us in advance, but the publicist put
- 48:19it that way. Dropping the next Friday, so the
- 48:2320th or the 27th. I'm sorry I'm fuzzing on the
- 48:26time, but you can check out the post at her website.
- 48:29I may get to interview her. I'm really excited about that.
- 48:31We've had several nice chats in the past.
- 48:34I'm a massive fan of The Gathering, who recently had
- 48:37their classic albums put out on vinyl again for the first time
- 48:40in a long time. So really one of the best
- 48:42singers in the whole ass world. The whole ass world.
- 48:47I don't normally make fun of Funko because I love Funko in
- 48:50Super 7 and stuff like this, and I have a lot of toys.
- 48:52So the Metallica teamed up with Funco to release the 72 Seasons
- 48:58era Funcos of the band with Rob and Lars and Kirk and James, how
- 49:02they look kind of now with 72 Seasons branding.
- 49:06And they sold them all as a set and also individually.
- 49:09Originally it was pretty funny. Lars was listed as more money.
- 49:12So sludge metal serial is here. What's up?
- 49:15Sludge metal serial? I love sludge metal.
- 49:17Interviewed many sludge metal bands.
- 49:20So they sent out the Rob Funko to people and it had the
- 49:24packaging from Timmy, Timmy from South Park.
- 49:28I don't know, like I don't know if they're doing AI to package
- 49:32the toys because I could like maybe the crab walk, Rob
- 49:36Trujillo and Timmy with the crutches.
- 49:38I mean fuck, man, like how do you fuck that up?
- 49:42I've never gotten a Funko that was an error.
- 49:44And I'm sure they're they're letting people keep them and
- 49:46they're sending them new ones. But like, how do you fuck that
- 49:50up? That's some crazy shit.
- 49:51I must be AI. I'm usually blame everything on
- 49:53AI. Non Russian spy is here.
- 50:01Sean Odo is here or Otto, What's up, pal?
- 50:04You've been here before. Oh my gosh, here's another good
- 50:10one. You know, like again, we live in
- 50:12the golden age of music. I know I've been ranting and
- 50:15raving on a few things this show, but you know, sometimes
- 50:20you just have to, you know, you got to just kind of dial it down
- 50:27a little and appreciate that we live in an incredible time for
- 50:30music, which I'm really thankful for.
- 50:35And you know, again, I wanted to say like, I do what I love.
- 50:39I got a like a Facebook reminder that like this week 15 years
- 50:42ago, I saw Van Halen and Kool in the gang.
- 50:45Absolutely random Van Halen and Kool and the gang playing the
- 50:48show together. But you know, it was pretty
- 50:52fucking amazing, I gotta say. So no complaints there and my
- 50:57life is pretty good. I I don't have a lot of things
- 51:00to say dad about anything, but I forgot where I was going with
- 51:07this. I just senior momented.
- 51:09Anyway, whatever, moving right along.
- 51:17I brain farted there. I talked myself into a circle.
- 51:19Sorry, maybe I do need to shut the fuck up and talk about the
- 51:22records. All right, let's see, this is a
- 51:27cool band. I was a little late on this.
- 51:29This is kind of a punk, pop punk, like a pop punk rock band.
- 51:32Morning in May. There's also Memphis May Fire
- 51:37and Meilene and the Sons of Disaster and all these bands,
- 51:40but Midnight in Malibu is their current single and I thought it
- 51:44was really cool. They just finished up a tour
- 51:46with the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and I thought that was a lot of
- 51:49fun. Testament, one of the greatest
- 51:53bands of all time, is reissued. They're in the middle of a bunch
- 51:56of reissues with their label Nuclear Blast.
- 51:58Their album Parabellum was one of my top five records of 2025
- 52:03and I interviewed Chuck Billy and I recently interviewed
- 52:05Skolnick again and talked to him about Metal Allegiance and
- 52:07Testament. But they are re releasing.
- 52:09Practice What You're That's pretty good.
- 52:13I'm going to have a sore throat tomorrow.
- 52:15Practice what you preach. Remastered and remixed with help
- 52:20from the band with a beautiful new design from the original
- 52:24artwork creator. And these are up for pre-order
- 52:28coming out in May. I just recently got the Souls of
- 52:31Black remaster and it sounds fucking bitching.
- 52:35So I, I have a remaster of this from a while back.
- 52:41I did hear the first single in video today and I was like, this
- 52:44is actually really good sounding.
- 52:46But I normally don't as a vinyl buyer.
- 52:48I don't typically rebuy stuff I have already.
- 52:51The few times that I have, I usually give them away to ghosts
- 52:54called fans or friends. But Jerry's out on this one.
- 52:57I don't know if I'll be buying this one.
- 53:00CEOC announced the new drummer today.
- 53:03Was kind of a bit of a surprise. Nick Shabbatura is their new
- 53:08drummer, replacing Stanton Moore of Galactic, who really only
- 53:11came back to do the album. As we know, You know, they've
- 53:14had a bit of trouble. Reed Mullen died a while back.
- 53:19I still miss that guy. He was wonderful to me and
- 53:21wonderful. The Ghost Cult.
- 53:22And I've had a lot of good experiences with Pepper and
- 53:25Woody. Many times I've met them and
- 53:28interviewed them and I hope we will interview them again soon.
- 53:31But they announced their new drummer.
- 53:33They got the new double album Bad Man, A Good Man, Bad Man, a
- 53:37double album coming out on limited edition vinyl and all
- 53:41the Things also from Nuclear Blast, just coincidentally, just
- 53:44a banger year for that label. And yeah, very hyped for the COC
- 53:48tour, as I mentioned earlier, and all the new COC things.
- 53:51Very, very exciting for one of my favorite bands ever.
- 53:54Another band, not quite an official reissue, but this is
- 53:59Live, This is murderous instead of This is Love, This is
- 54:03Murderous by Bleeding Through. Played some Bleeding Through
- 54:06earlier for Melissa. She seemed to like it.
- 54:08Good friends of ours, good friends of Omar's and from the
- 54:11tour he did with them and God Forbid they are putting out a
- 54:14live in full concert on vinyl that they did of this.
- 54:17So super cool to see this generation of bands, a lot of
- 54:20these bands, Lamb of God, Still, Vital Shadows Fall reunited
- 54:24playing occasionally, God Forbid reunited playing occasionally,
- 54:27Bleeding Through touring a lot and maybe you know, making new
- 54:30music. So really excited for them and
- 54:33then this is kind of fun. This story came up this week.
- 54:36Discogs, this is something for you, Dillinger Chaos Theory.
- 54:41Discogs has been doing like a monthly thing that we talked
- 54:44about on the Glacial Musical podcast this week.
- 54:47We talked about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where they got
- 54:50the most expensive records sold every month and all time.
- 54:55They have these lists compiled. So a Danzig solo single while he
- 54:59was still in the Misfits from 81 of Who Killed Marilyn was
- 55:03originally pressed on just 100 black vinyl and there was this
- 55:07purple vinyl. So this is from 81.
- 55:09Look at how beautiful look at how and big in this I'm sorry,
- 55:12TikTok. You'll have to come join me on
- 55:13YouTube or twitch or Instagram to see this.
- 55:16Look at this thing. This thing's gorgeous from 81
- 55:19gorgeous $10,000 Oh, lost the light here.
- 55:23Ha ha, $10,000 this thing cost what in the actual fucking
- 55:30Kentucky Fried fuck is this? But yeah, I did not buy this.
- 55:34I do not. If I had $10,000 I surely would
- 55:36not be putting it into a bottle. I'm moving in with my fiance.
- 55:40I'm getting married soon. I got some travel coming up
- 55:42soon. I you know, I have some plans in
- 55:44life. I don't have $10,000 for a
- 55:47record. The most I've ever spent on a
- 55:48record, honestly and truly is that I paid on discongs to get
- 55:52that record. Store Day 2021 release of the
- 55:56Amigo The Devil Live covers and live tracks because I love Amigo
- 56:01the Devil. You know, we've interviewed him
- 56:03a bunch of times. I talked to him quite a few
- 56:05times and having some light malfunctions here, I'm just
- 56:09going to take this down a little bit.
- 56:11Here we go. Hey, that's not much better, but
- 56:14all right, So Amigo the Devil, I paid $75 grant that I was making
- 56:20like 100 grand that year. So like, I didn't care about, I
- 56:23was buying everything I could that year, which is bad.
- 56:27You don't have to nail me down, Melissa.
- 56:30I'm not allowed to have the purse strings anyway. 10 grand
- 56:34for this 7 inch single. I don't know that I would pay
- 56:38more than the 75 I already paid for a record, but OK, just a
- 56:43little nerd news. The Obi Rancho Obi Wan is here
- 56:50right near where I'm. I'm here at Melissa's house.
- 56:53And so Petaluma, CA is home to Rancho Obi Wan.
- 56:57Their founding guy has the one of the largest collections of
- 57:01Star Wars toys and memorabilia ever.
- 57:05Guinness Book style, most memorabilia pieces ever.
- 57:10He has the rare Boba Fett toy with the ejector missile that's
- 57:13like worth 100 grand unopened and like 85 grand played with.
- 57:20Remember, guys, if you touch it more than three times, you're
- 57:23playing with it. You're not shaking it after
- 57:25peeing. But anyway, they he is teaming
- 57:28up. Rancho Obi Wan is teaming up
- 57:29with four other major Star Wars collectors to bring their
- 57:33collections to this area, the Marin Bay Area, north area,
- 57:40Sonoma County. Is that right, Melissa?
- 57:42Sonoma County to create an actual physical giant Star Wars
- 57:46museum. You will go to comic book shops
- 57:49here in town where I'm at right now, and they have a cool little
- 57:52mini Star Wars museum happening there with cool life-size R2D2
- 57:56and C3PO and Vader and Boba Fett, Luke and and Greedo.
- 58:01So I'm really hyped about this. I'd like to go to Rancho Obi Wan
- 58:04in the fall when things calm down a little bit for us, maybe
- 58:07for my birthday. But it's like 80 bucks to go.
- 58:09And you have to kind of plan it in advance with reservations.
- 58:12But I would like to go sometime and I'm just going to keep
- 58:15following this story because I'm hype about I love Star Wars.
- 58:18Star Wars movie coming out in May Mandalorian and Grogu and we
- 58:23may watch some Star Wars tonight.
- 58:24We'll see how we feel when I'm done with this show at 9:00.
- 58:26Jesus, where's the time come, Melissa?
- 58:29All right, that was most all the news.
- 58:31It's time for new music Friday and the mailbag.
- 58:34Let us quickly talk about the new music out this week.
- 58:41And I'm going to just play a little of a band.
- 58:44Here's the blow up of the thumbnail.
- 58:46Thank you Omar for making these thumbnails.

- 58:52your new music Friday every weekend before.

- 59:11and let's see something I can play.
- 59:16This is cool. I'm not going to play too much
- 59:18of this because I don't want to get killed.
- 59:21Yes, let's do this. Some some some alternative
- 59:26hardcore here. Let's find out.
- 59:32Give me one, one more second. I usually have this ready.
- 59:39I didn't today. All right, let's see, Here we
- 59:47go. Photo crime.
- 59:48This is their full album, security, full album.
- 59:54And let's share the screen so you can hear some of this and
- 1:00:01we'll do it like that in 321. Let me know if you hear this.
- 1:00:20Alternative hardcore tone.
- 1:00:39For what you got, you stole it upon me, the mighty God.
- 1:00:45I need to fall off the scene. I freeze you from your daily to
- 1:00:51use but not give you what their minds to build.
- 1:00:54It's a giant wave. Twice you.
- 1:01:00Better get to save it's. A giant wave.
- 1:01:11Where it's a crime wave, you better get saved.
- 1:01:13All right, I wanted to just share that because I thought it
- 1:01:16was cool. And Artifact Records, a great
- 1:01:21record label, home to Kylin, Mikla, home to Kanga.
- 1:01:25We'll see what her next thing is.

- 1:04:37something. Don is the hottest on the
- 1:04:39podcast and since Gen. X Metal.
- 1:04:41Dude, you're not wrong. You're not wrong.
- 1:04:42Nah, I get that it's done ha ha. Anyway, Don is tuning in just in
- 1:04:47time for the end of the show, but I have some stuff in the
- 1:04:50mailbag to share with you all. It's been quite a good mailbag
- 1:04:54week. So first and foremost, I went to
- 1:04:56see Witchcraft last week at Bottom of the Hill, closing soon
- 1:04:59in San Francisco. Here's their new EPA, Sinner's
- 1:05:02Child. I think this is meant to be
- 1:05:04mostly unplugged, like an acoustic record.
- 1:05:08But let's just see the digit pack they did not have.
- 1:05:11They were not. They had vinyl, but not of this.
- 1:05:13And they were not taking cash. So that was a kind of difficult.
- 1:05:16I don't know if I can show this. Don't bands.
- 1:05:20Here's some advice. No nude pictures, no drawings of
- 1:05:24boobs or bejis or peens or multiple sex parts.
- 1:05:29But anyway, here's the Witchcraft album.
- 1:05:32You can kind of see the image. Here's the Digit Pack CD in the
- 1:05:35middle with some beautiful writing in Swedish and English
- 1:05:39on the inside. Also this week in the mailbag, I
- 1:05:42have been reading Giant Steps, My Improbable Journey from Stage
- 1:05:46Lights to Executive Heights by Derek Shulman.
- 1:05:49Derek Shulman helped put Roadrunner on the map, as well
- 1:05:53as a bunch of other labels. Forward is written by Tony
- 1:05:55Visconti, the producer and basis for David Bowie.
- 1:05:59I'm really excited about this one.
- 1:06:01I'm almost finished with my other book that I will review
- 1:06:04soon. And then last but not least,
- 1:06:07because we're getting ready to plan a wedding here, let me just
- 1:06:12kind of begin. Just me, just me my my love got
- 1:06:17me some clothes from Dixon, the flannel company.
- 1:06:20I got my very first Dixon flannel and I also got a Dixon
- 1:06:24sort of fashionable shirt that I might wear to either wedding or
- 1:06:28the reception kind of family thing.
- 1:06:31So first of all, these things are beautifully made.
- 1:06:33They are actually priced pretty decently.
- 1:06:36Here is this Dixon shirt. I don't know if you're going to
- 1:06:38be able to see it too Well, this label is beautifully made with
- 1:06:42like bats and shit and Dicks inside her right?
- 1:06:46And then there's the Dixon flannel.
- 1:06:48I'll show you guys in a second, which is the Lamb of God themed
- 1:06:50limited editional flannels. So this shirt man, is just
- 1:06:54absolutely beautiful. It's very silky and it has these
- 1:06:57little bats on it, which is fucking cool as fuck.
- 1:06:59I can't wait till I tried it on earlier.
- 1:07:01It actually looked pretty good on me as a round human being
- 1:07:05trying to be less round. I do have a hard time finding
- 1:07:08clothes that I like all the time.
- 1:07:10I'm wearing the Dixon hat actually, that we also got, and
- 1:07:13also this Dixon Lamb of God flannel, which matches the Lamb
- 1:07:17of God album artwork, the green and the black and the blue in
- 1:07:20them. Apparently there are versions of
- 1:07:22the Lamb of God album that are like translucent glow in the
- 1:07:25dark, and the album artwork also kind of glows.
- 1:07:28So I'm pretty stoked for these new clothes.
- 1:07:30I'm reading this book. I'm listening to Witchcraft for
- 1:07:32a review and a very good male day.
- 1:07:36Just an update on the saga. I told you last week I was
- 1:07:39supposed to check a Descendants record that was sent to me and
- 1:07:41they sent me the wrong 1. So I contacted customer service
- 1:07:45and they are sending me the correct label with a return ship
- 1:07:48label to send back the wrong record they sent me.
- 1:07:51And so I will hopefully show you a pea urine colored Descendants
- 1:07:56I Don't want to Grow Up album soon.
- 1:07:59And that is our show in a very manageable one hour and 7
- 1:08:01minutes, similar to last week. As I say every week at this
- 1:08:05juncture of the show, it's a tough time in the world.
- 1:08:06So please take care of yourselves, take care of each
- 1:08:08other, stay as metal as humanly possible.
- 1:08:11I think I'm going to stop dancing a jig as so much because
- 1:08:15kind of looks like the other guy with his two Dicks, but I'm
- 1:08:19going to I'm going to bop. How's that?
- 1:08:21I'm going to bop to the outro theme music.
- 1:08:23Thanks for being here. If you're new here, follow goes
- 1:08:26cult mega com. I'll follow you back.
- 1:08:28Have a great weekend. Don't trick and drive.
- 1:08:30Be safe. Peace.
- 1:08:37Jamie, Josh said Hey Breed PCL, thanks for watching.
