- 0:00Bag alert bag alert bag alert bag alert bag alert folks and we also have some breaking news
- 0:05It was really not breaking news anymore because it broke yesterday
- 0:08Okay, but we also have some more news on what we had yesterday
- 0:13Okay, so originally I was supposed to put out this episode yesterday. We have some technical difficulties
- 0:17So now we're gonna do it again, but this time we got way more news that we have to talk about
- 0:24Yes, we have a bag alert, but we also have a lot of movement going around
- 0:28Harold Landry is on the move Jonathan Allen's on the move David gotcha was on the move Jonah Jackson is on the move
- 0:34Jire Alexander is on the move Khalil Shakir gets paid the state of the NFC West
- 0:39Okay, including the 49ers the Seahawks the Cardinals and the Rams and we are going to be reacting
- 0:47To a Mel Kuyper mock draft. Okay, this is they pre combine
- 0:52Mocked ref, okay all of this and more on the 17th episode of football junkies podcast
- 0:57Okay, I am your host with the most. Okay. I am your GM who currently is not on the team right now
- 1:03But don't you worry about it? Okay. I am your chief bagro Domus. Okay anything and everything related to the bag and more
- 1:10Okay, I am the person who has three mock drafts
- 1:14Already in my back pocket, but don't you worry about it. I may drop it. I may keep it
- 1:20Who knows who knows who knows but guess what I am all
- 1:24These things and more okay, but guess what the most important thing that you must remember is
- 1:30I am your host who's gonna drop some truth bombs some knowledge bombs and some things that you may not like but guess what?
- 1:37You're gonna agree with it because why I'm right. So guess what you already know what I'm getting right say
- 1:42You already know my spell. So guess what on three one, two, three, let's lock in Oh
- 2:12Right folks, let's just get into the meat and potatoes of everything that is going on in the league right now
- 2:17So we have a lot of movement going around
- 2:20Yes, today is the first day of the combine where you get to see all the workouts and whatnot
- 2:25I think it's supposed to be happening around 3 this afternoon
- 2:28So I'll definitely be watching it probably taking some notes of you know, some some players and whatnot
- 2:34But you know, I'll keep you posted on all those things and more so let's just do everything
- 2:39Okay, because we have a lot to unpack. So let's start with Harold Landry. So yesterday
- 2:45News broke that Harold Landry former Titans because he's definitely gonna get traded was given permission by the Titans to seek a trade
- 2:52So when we look at you know his stats in 2021, he had 12 sacks
- 2:572022 I think he had a season ending injury so we can't count that
- 3:012023 he had ten and a half sacks and then this past season he had nine sacks
- 3:05So he's still a really productive patch rusher. Okay now when we go down to the financial part of everything
- 3:12The last two years are not guaranteed
- 3:15so all in all this is a really good situation for anybody that inherits Harold Landry only because
- 3:22The last two years are easy to work with it's only
- 3:2617.5 million at best if you want you could have him play out the rest of his deal, of course making it guaranteed
- 3:33There's different ways that you can go about this now
- 3:37We all know most likely everyone is going to link him to the pages just because he played under Mike Vrabel
- 3:42But I don't think he's going to be playing under Mike Vrabel. I think he wants to go to a contender
- 3:46I think he wants to go to a team like
- 3:50You know the Chiefs or the Ravens or the Bills or the 49ers or even the Eagles
- 3:55I think this will probably be a great replacement for Josh sweat if you are the Eagles
- 4:01Because his financials are really good
- 4:04It's not something where you have this exuberant contract that you have to figure out how you're going to crunch down or you have to give up
- 4:10High compensation just just so they can take on the guarantees like no if you wanted to you can guarantee at least
- 4:17One of the two years or both years or whatever the case may be you have options with Harold Landry
- 4:24And I think he would be willing to do something different if it meant that he was on a contender
- 4:30He has a real chance of actually winning compared to someone like a Miles Garrett where you're gonna have to reset the market for him
- 4:39There is no if-ands or buts about it now if you went to a team like the Eagles or the Chiefs or somewhere like that
- 4:46They may be able to talk him off the ledge, but still he's still gonna want his money
- 4:51That's just who he is now when we look at you know
- 4:53All the other things that are going on because it is a lot of it's a lot of stuff moving around
- 4:59Just because the combine is for you know all the potential people that may be drafted
- 5:04This is a time where you hear a lot of rumors a lot of things going on like there was
- 5:11There was a story and I lied to you not I might make this the cover art
- 5:17There was literally a story that broke yesterday that talked about how Ian Rappaport NFL Network insider
- 5:25Was confronted by a by a Fox insider Jordan Schultz at a Starbucks and
- 5:32They literally had a verbal spat in the Starbucks. They were going back and forth
- 5:39Jordan Schultz
- 5:41Was with it
- 5:43He was with it
- 5:45He approached him because apparently if I'm not mistaken this all stems from a situation to where
- 5:52There was a there was basically a source of confirming if either Matthew Stafford and Tom Brady
- 5:58You know have met up to talk or whatnot
- 6:00So originally Jordan Schultz put out the report that said that they did meet up
- 6:05But then shortly after you have people like Ian Rappaport, Adam Schefter and people of that caliber
- 6:11That basically debunked it and then you had Tom Brady's agent that also said that it didn't happen as well
- 6:17So in my mind I'm thinking if you have someone like an Adam Schefter if you have someone like an Ian Rappaport
- 6:23Both very credible people who have major pull in the league if both of them are saying the exact same thing
- 6:30And then the agent of said player says that says it as well
- 6:34Then it is credible
- 6:36So all in all we have
- 6:40Man this the source office is real
- 6:44It is real folks
- 6:46It is a real thing I did not expect for this to get this bad
- 6:53I would have thought you know of course people you know post different things and whatnot, but it's like bro
- 6:59Y'all are really arguing with each other as a Starbucks because of who was right and who was wrong like are you really serious right now?
- 7:08Come on
- 7:09Come on, please
- 7:11Come on. Well. What are we doing? What?
- 7:13What are we doing here folks, but let's get back to everything so
- 7:18Jonathan Allen is on the move definitely did not expect this definitely was a major curveball
- 7:24but
- 7:25Yeah, let's get into his financials. Well actually no, let's not let's not get to the financials first. Let's get into a status
- 7:30So in 2021 he had nine sacks 2022 he had seven and a half
- 7:342023 have five and a half then this year he had three now when we shift everything over to the financials
- 7:41It's a little bit odd
- 7:43Okay, and I'll explain it so his cap hit this year is 22.3 million
- 7:49Okay, but his base salary this year is only 15.5 million. He's at the end of his current contract
- 7:55So he's looking for a new contract. I don't understand why Washington would just give him an extension
- 8:02Now is it because of the robust defensive line class?
- 8:05Possibly is it because they could be in the you know in the works or trying to get someone like a Miles Garrett
- 8:11That's a possibility or any of these patch rushes that will be available. That is a possibility as well
- 8:17But I wonder how big is Jonathan Allen's market only because he came off of
- 8:25Peck injury which originally it was supposed to be a season-ending injury
- 8:29But then he decided to come back and he was able to get a new contract
- 8:33But then he decided to come back, you know, the rest is history. I
- 8:38Wonder is that going to have a negative effect on him when it comes to talking to other teams?
- 8:45Because as of right now you cannot say that Jonathan Allen is worth
- 8:502530 35 to 45 million a year
- 8:52You can't say that you can't make him a top defensive lineman in the NFL history
- 8:57You just cannot do that now you will probably give him a bump in pay
- 9:00You can maybe give him to like sweeten the pot like I said in the first episode of the divisional rodeo
- 9:06you could do that or
- 9:09You know you
- 9:11How can I say this there's different ways that you could attack this situation instead of just doing
- 9:18What you're doing now, which is allowing him to talk to other teams now granted
- 9:22You can probably get you know compensation forward and then you can use that to address other needs
- 9:26Yes, you can do that because again you have a lot of cap space and you don't have to break the bank for someone
- 9:33Like a Jonathan Allen no disrespect to him. I'm not breaking the bank for you now when I have to
- 9:39repay Bobby Wagner and Jeremy Chen and Dante Fowler jr. And
- 9:43Diami Brown and Noah Brown and I'm trying to build
- 9:47You know this team out so that we can go right back to where we were or even further than where we were last year
- 9:53Like there's a lot of stuff that I'm trying to do and I cannot do that if I'm trying to pay you top dollar money
- 9:59I wonder how is this going to play out and who are the teams are going to be interested?
- 10:05Because again, this is a really robust defensive line class
- 10:09You are still going to be able to find a quality defensive lineman in the later parts of this draft
- 10:14You're still gonna be able to find someone like an NDS peoples. There is Alexander
- 10:19And I's your stack house all those guys so you're gonna have options
- 10:25So I wonder did that play part into the commander's just allowing him to go somewhere else
- 10:32And that's the same thing with Dave and gotcha sure I
- 10:36Understand why the Patriots may would have wanted to you know, get off of get off of him
- 10:42But even when you look at his financials, it's not really that bad
- 10:46It's actually really team friendly his base salary is only 4 million
- 10:52This year and then next year is only 6.5. Like that's not really bad at all
- 10:57So I wonder with the robust defensive line class and then everybody getting a bump in and pay with a salary cap
- 11:04I wonder is that the reason why a lot of teams are saying hey listen
- 11:08We'll allow you to go somewhere else to other teams figure out what your price point is and will grant you your wish
- 11:14Do I think a lot of these?
- 11:17Transactions are gonna happen. No, do I think this is more of a ploy to possibly?
- 11:23Get a feel of the league feels about them from a contractual standpoint. Yes for sure
- 11:28But only time will tell this point, but I will say this moving forward
- 11:32There's definitely going to be a lot of rumors a lot of murmurs and whatnot. I will say this
- 11:37This is for any person because even sometimes I get caught up in it myself
- 11:41Do not believe everything that you see on social media
- 11:45just because somebody says oh I have an insider that says that
- 11:50the Rams and Matthew Stafford or you know are gonna finalize a deal for a
- 11:5565 million a year and you know, he's getting a hundred a hundred million in guarantees do not believe them. Okay if
- 12:02It is not coming like an Adam Schefter Ian Rappaport
- 12:06Mike Garofalo Tom Pellicero Kimberly Martin Jay Glazer if it's not coming from any of those credible people
- 12:13Even Jordan Schultz despite the whole you know
- 12:17Starbucks situation if it is not coming from any of those people credible insiders beat writers
- 12:24Journalists if it is not coming from any of those type of people do not believe it or if it's not coming from that agent
- 12:31Or if it's not coming from a GM if it's not coming from any of those people do not believe it a lot of times we get
- 12:38our
- 12:38Unnecessary things and we think all this is true or this is not true if it's not coming from someone that is credible
- 12:46That actually has insider information that is actually connected with basically every single team
- 12:53Then there is no need for you to believe it now that I've
- 12:56I've gone on my little my little rant and whatnot because I see that a lot especially with with the Steelers
- 13:02Community I definitely see that a lot where a lot of people who are not credible that are saying a lot of stuff
- 13:07That's not true. I just had to put that put that out there even for me like if I have not read anything
- 13:13Heard anything or or anything like that? I'm not going to tell you all about it
- 13:18It would be wrong for me to put out baseless lies. That's not what we do over here at the football junkies podcast
- 13:23So on to somebody else that could be also on the move and that is Jonah Jackson
- 13:27Okay, but it's understandable and the only reason why I say that is because
- 13:32with the Rams
- 13:34Which shout out to them because they do such an amazing job when it comes to their offensive lineman
- 13:39They have so many good quality guard. You could just let him go
- 13:43You don't have to find a way to like keep him in you don't have to do that. You can just let him walk
- 13:48It's no problem. You still have two other really high quality guards
- 13:52They're playing really consistent and really good ball. So with Jonah Jackson, okay, he's on the last year of his deal
- 13:58so right now his base salary is only 4.3 million and
- 14:02His cap paid at only 4.3 million, but he's due for some money soon
- 14:07Okay, so according to the spot racks market value. He is worth three years
- 14:1347.8 million which is 16 million a year. I pay for someone like a Jonah Jackson most likely
- 14:19Because right now what we're starting to see is and this is sort of me being back row dominance as I put on my back row
- 14:25Dominoes cape and whatnot
- 14:28We're starting to see a shift where interior offensive lineman are starting to get paid more just to counteract
- 14:35The interior defensive lineman they are getting paid and are being game records
- 14:41So now you're starting to see that teams are really starting to invest in two offensive lines
- 14:47Just because you have to be able to you know negate someone like a Max Crosby like a miles Gary like a Chris Jones
- 14:55Like a Michael Parsons like a TJ watt like a Daniel Hunter or Will Anderson people of those sorts
- 15:02You have to be able to find a way to counteract them
- 15:05Otherwise your quarterback is going to be a sitting duck every single time and the only way that you can do that is if you pay
- 15:12Your players so for Jonah Jackson
- 15:14I think he will have a very robust market because there's not a lot of high quality productive
- 15:21Interior offensive lineman available, so I think he will have a strong market now the question is
- 15:27Where would he go?
- 15:29Do I think teams like maybe the Chiefs or the Ravens or the Lions or the 49ers will be interesting for sure?
- 15:37I think no matter where he goes. He's gonna be fairly compensated fairly well
- 15:42And will be an instant upgrade over what they have currently now
- 15:47Let's keep this train going here folks because we still have a whole lot of people that we have to talk about okay
- 15:52I think this is the final person that we have to talk about when it comes to people that are on the move
- 15:56And that is Jai your Alexander, okay, so
- 15:59Jai here according to Ian Rappaport is being shopped around
- 16:03This situation is a little bit weird than all the other ones right because this one
- 16:09I think sort of has a little bit of a backstory with it
- 16:13I would have to do a little bit of a big day, but you know he's missed a few games
- 16:18He really hasn't been as healthy as you probably should it's it's a lot of backstory with the Jai your Alexander situation
- 16:25It's nothing you know like super crazy or super serious
- 16:28But I think the Packers realized that listen
- 16:30We have someone that has a very large contract that we're trying to get rid of
- 16:35That at this point really hasn't been as productive and as reliable as we need him to be and I think it's just time that we go
- 16:42In a different direction now when we look at the financial aspect of this his base salary this year is gonna be 16
- 16:4816.1 million and then next year is gonna be 18.1 million now when we look at the cap hit this work
- 16:55Things get a little bit weird okay cap hit this year is 25.4 million and then next year is 27.8 million so either way
- 17:03Wherever he goes most likely there is going to be some form of a restructure now
- 17:08Is it gonna be a major structure is gonna be an extension? What is exactly going to be?
- 17:14Because right now I don't care what anyone says
- 17:17Jai your Alexander is still one of the best corners in the league
- 17:21He can still hold his own against a Jamar chase a DK Metcalf a Brandon I Eweig a Justin Jefferson
- 17:28Receivers of that world he can still go toe-to-toe with them without a safety over top now the question is
- 17:36Where would be the best?
- 17:38Place for someone like a Jairo Alexander now you probably think of the Ravens
- 17:43You can probably think of the Steelers you can probably think of the Eagles you can probably think of the Chiefs
- 17:47You can probably think of the 49ers there are multiple teams right now that would definitely want to have someone like a Jairo Alexander
- 17:53Alexander because despite the injuries he is still excuse me a number one corner
- 17:59Compensation for Jairo Alexander my guess is will probably be a first-round pick
- 18:03And the only reason why I say that is because for one he has very high cap hits for both this year and next year
- 18:10And on top of that his base salary is still pretty high as well
- 18:15So I think if you give them a first-round pick the you know with the notion that
- 18:20You're gonna have to take on some of his guarantees. I think the Packers will be willing to do that compared to
- 18:27Just allowing him to go for like a second or a third or fourth round pick now
- 18:32Is there going to be a team that may try to you know finesse it? There's a possibility
- 18:36I think a team like the Eagles
- 18:38They could definitely pick to get someone like a Jairo Alexander because outside of Quinn you are Mitchell
- 18:44Who do you have and Darius Lay is getting up in age? Do you want to keep Darius Lay for another year?
- 18:49I don't know. That's still a question that they have to figure out pretty pretty soon. You know not to mention
- 18:56with the quarterback class being as
- 18:59Not as big as what it has been the last two or three years
- 19:03I think a team would be more open to going after someone like a Jairo Alexander somebody that is proven
- 19:09Compared to someone like a Will Johnson or Benjamin Moore or Siobhan Revo Trey Amos
- 19:14Jada Ibarian
- 19:16Just few right and so
- 19:18I wonder what exactly caused the Packers to just say you know what we're just done with it
- 19:24We're done with it. We'll we'll let you go somewhere else. We're tired
- 19:28We don't want to deal with this no more like what exactly has happened because the last few years
- 19:35We've been hearing the blames about the Packers
- 19:38Which majority are Alexander and then there was a situation with the receiver
- 19:42I forgot who the receiver was where he didn't show up to a game and so they suspended him for one game
- 19:47But only time will tell I will say this
- 19:50He's probably gonna get moved pretty quickly. I think right now
- 19:53There's probably at least two or three teams that are like really serious about this and would do whatever they need to do to close this deal
- 20:02Because again, it's very rare that you have a high elite corner someone like a Jairo Alexander
- 20:09That is available via trade. Okay. Let's get into this baglar
- 20:13Okay, so Buffalo Bills receiver Khalil Shakir has inked a four-year sixty point two million dollar deal
- 20:18Two million guaranteed at signing with fifteen million a year
- 20:21Okay, and when we look at his stats 76 receptions for 821 receiving yards for touchdowns and ten point eight receiving yards per reception
- 20:29All in all this is a really good team friendly deal
- 20:31Okay, you have someone that is really reliable has been very productive in both
- 20:36You know the regular season and in the offseason who has made some dynamic
- 20:41plays especially in the playoffs, so all in all it's a great signing and
- 20:46Not to mention. I don't think Khalil Shakir has you know this robust market where it's you know
- 20:5320 25 or like 30 million a year like no he's still you know
- 20:59Maybe like to tier two or like tier three when it comes to receivers, which is still not bad
- 21:04He's still a really productive receiver like he is somebody that when you need
- 21:10Him the most guess what he's going to make that play. I can't tell you how many times
- 21:14I've seen a Khalil Shakir play being made at the most randomest time Josh Allen and him are like
- 21:23Kobe and Shaq okay, they they don't have to talk. It's just something that they do all right
- 21:28They just have a chemistry between the two of them all right, and he's definitely been a really consistent receiver
- 21:34Since you know the departure of Stefan Diggs and Gabe Davis
- 21:37So all in all it's a really good deal like deals like these
- 21:43It's amazing. It's not something that is going to break the bank not something where you're going to have to you know figure out
- 21:50Okay, how we're going to be able to create cash space because this is a deal that is team-friendly
- 21:55That they can easily get out of and it's something to where Khalil Shakir gets his money up front and
- 22:00The bills really don't have to worry about you know the backlash that comes with it
- 22:04Okay, because at best he's probably a two or three on anybody else's team now
- 22:10Let's get into the divisional rodeo folks
- 22:15We're doing it
- 22:16West Coast style okay, NFC West to be specific so you already know the spill
- 22:22We go over the salary free agents draft picks positions of need candidates for restructure extension trade and cut okay
- 22:29So let's start with the 49ers okay, so with their salary
- 22:34They have forty seven point one million in cash space which is 12th in league and they have a roll over cap of fifty million
- 22:40Now when we look at their free agents our various war Dre Greenlaw Devon Dre Campbell John Flanciano
- 22:45But he retired Josh Dobbs Kevin Gevens Brandon Allen Demetrius Flanagan Flowers
- 22:51Rock out saying Khalil Davis and Talanua Hufanga just to name a few
- 22:55When we look at their draft picks of course they have their first their second they have two third round picks three fourth round picks
- 23:01One fifth round pick one sixth round pick and three seventh round picks their positions of need
- 23:08Offensive line defensive line corner linebacker receiver running back. I'm going to add one more
- 23:14Now these last two are going to be really controversial, but just roll with me okay
- 23:19Quarterback so when it comes to offensive line the 49ers have really liked the offensive line for a while
- 23:25Granted you have someone in Trent Williams who was the anchor of your left side, but outside of him who can you trust?
- 23:33Who can you really say that hey if this person goes down? Hey, we can plug them in there's no problem
- 23:40He won't he won't lose a beat nothing won't happen. Everything's gonna be fine. You don't have that and so
- 23:45You have to invest high into the offensive line now
- 23:49I'm not saying that you have to draft offensive linemen
- 23:53You know in the first round every single year no
- 23:55But what I am saying is this you are going to have to make an investment a high investment into offensive line at some point
- 24:03Because if you don't your quarterback is going to get crushed and so
- 24:08What we're seeing is a team especially offensively
- 24:11Where a lot of their players have just aged and so right now if you want to stay at least somewhat competitive
- 24:19You are going to have to put in some fresh younger productive players
- 24:24And you have to start at the offensive line your right tackle has to get fixed guard has to get fixed
- 24:31Center I haven't really seen a whole lot with their center. I think center could could definitely be fine, but
- 24:36Interior offensive line and right tackle. I think you could definitely upgrade that
- 24:41Because right now all you have is Trent Williams
- 24:44That's not enough. That's not going to get you anywhere
- 24:48Instead you have to make proper upgrades when it comes to the offensive line now you have options
- 24:55You can go and you can draft one in the first round you can get a josh conley if i'm not mistaken
- 24:59You can get the right tackle
- 25:01From mazou you have options or you could go and get someone like a jonna jackson
- 25:07You could go and possibly get someone like a kevin zyler a more veteran approach if you want to take that route
- 25:13You have different options when it comes to offensive line when we look at defensive line
- 25:18This is a situation to where you can address it in a few different ways
- 25:22You could go and get someone like a jonathan allen you can go and get someone like a milton wynton
- 25:27Williams you can go and get someone like a jonathan allen you can go and get someone like a milton williams
- 25:32You can go and get someone you know in the draft if you wanted to because even in the draft
- 25:38You have better odds at double dipping a defensive line than you do at any other position only because of how robust
- 25:45The group is you're going to have your ken of grants your mason gramps your darrius alexanders your aneeas pebbles
- 25:53You're some high quality defensive linemen that are going to be available
- 25:56to pass the first round
- 25:59So you can go and you can make that investment twice
- 26:02If you really wanted to because right now the javon hardgrave deal has not matured
- 26:08It has not aged well if we can be honest here
- 26:12So now you have to find a way where you can get better productivity out of the defensive line because
- 26:20When you went through a season where literally you were trying to bring in defensive linemen just so you can have people on that line
- 26:29You brought in a kalil davis you traded for I think another defensive lineman if i'm not mistaken
- 26:34Like you have to bring in better quality defensive linemen to help out nick bosa
- 26:40Otherwise, you're not going to go anywhere
- 26:42We literally just saw in the super bowl what happens when you have a very productive defensive line
- 26:48They're going to win their reps. They're going to create pressure on the quarterback and most importantly they're going to win the championship
- 26:56defense still wins championships
- 26:59But here is the kicker
- 27:01It starts at the line
- 27:03If you win at the line everything else is just is easy
- 27:08But line isn't that strong. Well, then guess what?
- 27:11What's going to happen now? What you're going to do?
- 27:13You can't put no pressure on the quarterback
- 27:14And if you don't put no pressure on a quarterback someone like apache my homes, guess what they're going to cook you like hibachi
- 27:21every single time
- 27:23So you're going to have to make that investment now when we look at corner
- 27:27You could go and you can draft someone like a will johnson like a chevron revel like a benjamin morrison like
- 27:33A trey eight most for instance. You can take that route or you can take a swing at someone like a gyre alexander if you wanted to
- 27:41So all in all with a cornerback position
- 27:44I think someone like a benjamin morrison a chevron revel will johnson. I think their draft stock is going to drop
- 27:51It's already been confirmed that if i'm not mistaken will johnson will not be participating at the combine
- 27:57He will only be participating at his pro day. So that automatically might drop his draft stock a little bit
- 28:03Same thing with benjamin morrison same thing with chevron revel now granted
- 28:07They are very productive corners that have a lot of upside with their game
- 28:13But the fact of the matter is do you want to commit a first round pick to someone that has the the extensive injury history?
- 28:19That they do have me personally. I still would do it
- 28:23For someone like a will johnson because will johnson is a one
- 28:28The injuries, you know that that just comes with football. Okay
- 28:32As long as he's healthy as long as he's productive. That's all that matters because you have to replace
- 28:39charvarius wards
- 28:41Role because charvarius has already said he's not coming back and we all know why he's not coming back
- 28:46Which you know thoughts and prayers still to you know to his family, you know, it definitely
- 28:52You have to be a strong person
- 28:55To play the regular season
- 28:57When you have suffered what he has suffered and for those who don't know he
- 29:02He lost a child during the regular season
- 29:05and so that is one of the major reasons why he does not want to come back to the 49ers because there's a lot of
- 29:12Painful memories, you know since since being in that area, that's perfectly fine. I have no problem with that
- 29:16But you have to replace that okay because outside of green and diamond or lennor is a slot corner
- 29:23We're not o'green. He could definitely be an outside corner for sure. He has the intangibles to definitely be an outside corner
- 29:29But you still need somebody to tag along with him. Okay now when we look at linebacker
- 29:35You could you know extend drey green lawn if you wanted to
- 29:39Or you can go and get someone like a jihad campbell or chris paul jr
- 29:43Or the linebacker from cal or the linebacker from arkansas like you have options there you can get barrett carter like
- 29:50There's different options when it comes to linebacker now granted, you know
- 29:54That the bondre campbell situation is a little bit sensitive for so for a few people but
- 30:01The fact of the matter is you're going to have to make an investment at linebacker. Where is it going to be at?
- 30:06Are you going to get someone like a veteran like I don't know devin white or levante david?
- 30:12Or you're gonna you know, just draft one me personally. I would just draft one
- 30:16There's no point of you continuing to try to keep all of these players like no at some point
- 30:21You're gonna have to let them go if you want to be able to still be a little bit competitive the 49ers window
- 30:28Is almost essentially closed at this point for one kyle shanahan does not trust
- 30:34Anybody outside of his star players if you are not a star player kyle shanahan does not trust you
- 30:40We have seen it multiple times when you make a simple mistake. Guess what happens?
- 30:44He he loses faith in you and then he just does not use you at all
- 30:49And that is a major not to someone like a kyle shanahan because here you are being this great offensive minded head coach
- 30:57And you are not able to properly utilize every single player on your team and granted you have some really productive
- 31:07players
- 31:08And for you not to really use them for whatever reason is just
- 31:13A major slap in the face
- 31:15And so now you have to figure out exactly what are you going to do moving forward?
- 31:20Because your team is getting old your team is not going anywhere
- 31:27Your team has to figure out exactly
- 31:30What are they going to do different this year that they haven't done in the last few years?
- 31:34Because everybody has caught on to the kyle shanahan plan everybody knows exactly what you're doing now
- 31:41Up to this point everyone was trying to figure out how to crack the code when it came to
- 31:46Playing against the 49ers because you guys were ahead of the game when it came to the play calling and execution and whatnot
- 31:54But now defensive coordinators have caught on now they know exactly what you're doing
- 31:59And now they know how to counteract exactly what you're doing
- 32:03So you have to figure out exactly
- 32:06What can you do?
- 32:08What can you do to stick out?
- 32:12Because right now you are not the best team in the nfc
- 32:16My guess you'll probably be the third maybe fourth or maybe fifth best nfc team
- 32:21The eagles are the first
- 32:23Commanders are second and then it's everybody else
- 32:27Now to some people you probably say well why would you put the commanders at second?
- 32:31The commanders right now have so much upside with their roster that it's ridiculous
- 32:36Okay
- 32:38All they really need to do is just work on their defense if they work on their defense. They're back in the nfc championship guaranteed
- 32:44There was a point in time where the nfc was
- 32:48Was the 49ers division but that is no longer the case
- 32:52The rams have gotten their act together the cardinals are getting their act together
- 32:57The seahawks are getting their act together everybody in the division is getting their act together
- 33:03Except for you you are continuing to read us and your team is getting older and expensive
- 33:11That is not how you win championships. You cannot continue to go through offseason after offseason after offseason
- 33:17Continuing to reset the market for players at some point the line has to be drawn
- 33:24Either you take this deal or go
- 33:27That's just what it has to be. I don't care who they are. I don't care what they've done
- 33:31I don't care how productive they are in the field. You have to give them an ultimatum
- 33:36Because you continuing to write checkbooks and you haven't been in the super bowl able to hold up on bardi
- 33:43It's worthless
- 33:44It's going to be worthless at the end of the day when everything is said and done that you guys don't have at least one championship
- 33:52y'all have made
- 33:54Trades for christian mcaffery for trent williams you paid for george kiddle you paid for brandon i.uick for debo
- 34:01Samuel you just repaid christian mcaffery you reset the market for nick bosa you paid for for fred warner
- 34:07Like you've been paying a whole bunch of people
- 34:10And you guys haven't won a super bowl
- 34:12meanwhile
- 34:13The chiefs won super bowls the eagles just won a super bowl. What have you guys done?
- 34:18Just paying players. That's not how you win. That's not how you win, bro
- 34:22Now granted I do think the one thing that they do have in their favor is they brought back robert
- 34:28Salah that was the best thing that they could have ever did you're bringing back somebody who was very productive
- 34:35with the defense
- 34:37the defense
- 34:39Phenomenally well under both robert salah and I can't even I can't remember his name. I can't remember his name the the um
- 34:46Demico ryan
- 34:47Thank you joe. Thank you joe
- 34:49Demico ryan's the defense was playing better under those two so you bring it back someone like a robert salah. I think that can
- 34:57Allow players like a nick bosa a fred warner
- 35:01Diamador lennor can believe in because you have somebody
- 35:05That was very productive that brought the best out of every single defensive player and had this defense being a top five defense
- 35:13If that defense gets its act together
- 35:16The 49ers could be back in the nfc championship
- 35:19But if they don't then guess what this will all be a waste
- 35:23You heard it here first and if that's the case now shanahan gotta go
- 35:28John lynch gotta go because y'all have made all these moves. What did he get you? Nothing
- 35:33That case is still empty
- 35:35How we is looking for another productive player that he can add so he could go and get another super bowl
- 35:42What are you guys doing?
- 35:44But when we look at receiver, okay, you have options, okay?
- 35:48Me personally, I feel like the day two and day three slots for receiver is better than the day one slot
- 35:54I feel like with day two and day three you can find some hidden gems
- 35:57You can definitely work with them and probably bring the best out of them
- 36:00You know, you can get someone like, you know, the the receiver from colorado. You can go and get someone like a jack bash
- 36:07jaden higgins
- 36:10Who was the receiver from stanford? I just forgot about his name
- 36:13You can go and get him you can get isaiah bond like you have options
- 36:17for day two and day three at receiver that I think that if you get
- 36:21I think would be better than trying to you know, make a big splash play for you know for receiver
- 36:27Even when you look at the veteran receivers for free agency
- 36:31What is it about them that makes you say hey, we have to go and have to you know, get them
- 36:37Like kena and alan
- 36:38I don't know. I don't think I really want to do that stephan digs. Yeah, I don't know
- 36:43The only person I probably would want to take this baby t higgins and even then i'm not paying you a whole lot of money
- 36:48I'm not paying you 30 plus million. I'm not doing that
- 36:51I'm going to give you the same deal that I gave the brand now you would take it or leave it
- 36:55I am not continuing to reset the market for people and I have not won a super bowl. I'm just not doing that now running back
- 37:04For this one. I was a little bit torn about only because yes, you still have christian mcaffrey
- 37:10but my thinking is
- 37:13If you reduce the amount of snaps have three kids
- 37:17You can keep him fresh for the second half of the season then going into the playoffs compared to just you know running him down
- 37:24And then by the time you get to the second half of the season
- 37:27He's missing three four or five games and then not to mention with this running back class being as big as it is
- 37:34You have to go and you have to get somebody at least at least once
- 37:37I mean you have debin neil caleb johnson bachel two and omari on hampton quince on
- 37:44Juggins trevion henderson the running back from delaware who else who else who else who else I know
- 37:50I know i'm missing a few but like since at running back
- 37:53That I think if you get them
- 37:55I think that could help christian mcaffrey and just help the offense as a whole when we look at candidates for restructure extension trades and cuts
- 38:03Rock purdy either extension or cuts
- 38:08And I know this is controversial, but the only reason why I say that is because when we look at his market value
- 38:13four years
- 38:15238.9 million that is
- 38:1759.7 million a year that's close to 60 million you are close
- 38:23to that press guy
- 38:25No
- 38:26I am not overpaying for rock purdy
- 38:29I'm not even allowing him to get close to 50. I'm not even allowing him getting close to 45
- 38:36I am not going to pay brock purdy a whole bunch of money now granted
- 38:40He didn't make it to the superbowl not going to take that away from him
- 38:44But what I am not going to do is commit a whole bunch of money to this quarterback
- 38:50And if he does not want this then guess what?
- 38:52Bring in a bridge quarterback see what happens see what what you get first
- 38:57And if you like it cool if not next year you draft your quarterback
- 39:01That's just what it is at this point because right now you continuing to these big checks for these players is not helping
- 39:07It's not going to get you closer to winning a championship alone get shit. Okay, javon. I think that's definitely expected
- 39:14He has not lived up to that contract that they gave him
- 39:17And so it's just best that you just cut your losses and just let him go debo samuel cut as well
- 39:22I I feel like there's no need to trade him because you're not going to get a whole lot of draft picks for him
- 39:28I would get him for like a sixth or seventh round pick honestly drake green law give an extended
- 39:34And if you took that route he would be worth a one-year 6.6 million dollar deal
- 39:40Which is only 6.7 million a year. That's not really bad
- 39:43But at the same time I feel like you do have to take care of drake green law because he plays such a pivotal role
- 39:49on this defense outside of fred warner like
- 39:53He has shown that he can be the heartbeat of this defense at times now when we look at josh dobs
- 39:59You can give him an extension just so you can have a quarterback
- 40:02You know on on the roster and whatnot just in case you know anything crazy happens, but all in all the 49ers
- 40:09Are in a good spot cap wise but from a talent standpoint from a roster standpoint
- 40:15They have a lot to work and i'll just leave it there but we do have somewhat of breaking news and that is
- 40:22John lynch is listening to offers for brandon iuick and this is coming from grant combe
- 40:29I'm going to say that again just so you can you can hear me but this time i'm going to say a little bit closer in the mic
- 40:35John lynch is listening to offers for brandon iuick
- 40:42The brandon iuick by the way that they just paid for that they just went through that whole debacle for
- 40:49Also john lynch has said there's no guarantee that they will pay brock purdy
- 40:56Once again folks we have another offseason of the 49ers drama, but let's just get into the rams
- 41:02Okay, so with the rams man do they have a lot of drama going on as well so for them their cap is
- 41:0839.2 million which is 15th in the league they have a cap of 2.7 million okay their free agents include
- 41:15Aleric jackson damarcus robinson tutu atwell cameron curl tyler higby john johnson in a kelo
- 41:21Weatherspoon so when we look at their draft picks okay they of course they got their first they don't have a second
- 41:26They have the third they have their fourth they don't have a fifth and they have three six round picks okay
- 41:32That really doesn't matter to them because they've used fifth and sixth round picks and you know turn them into pros
- 41:39Just saying um
- 41:42Let's see what else what else what else what else positions of need corner receiver tackle linebacker quarterback
- 41:49defense of line tied in
- 41:51Now let's get to quarterback first okay
- 41:54Let's get to the let's get to the elephant of the room here
- 41:57Okay, so with quarterback it's a very sticky situation okay
- 42:06On one hand I do believe matthew stafford does have a market on the other hand I feel like this is more of
- 42:14The rams are trying to see okay. What exactly are teams?
- 42:19How do they feel about him and what is his value?
- 42:22I think if his value is universally low it benefits the rams
- 42:29but if it's high
- 42:31Just let him go
- 42:32Bring in a bridge and just you know figure out what you're going to do next year
- 42:38Because right now being matthew stafford 55 or 60 million i'm just not doing that now if it's something around maybe
- 42:4638 maybe 45 a year
- 42:54I'll do it. I may have a tough time writing that check
- 42:57But if it's anything past that we have no we have nothing to talk about okay
- 43:02I mean sure you could go and maybe get someone like a justin fields or an erin rogers or
- 43:09Sam donald or someone like that, but
- 43:12I think the ball is in matthew stafford
- 43:14Matthew stafford has to figure out exactly what does he want to do if he wants to stay
- 43:20They'll accept him with open arms
- 43:22But if he wants to go they'll let him go they have no problem doing that whatsoever
- 43:28Now when we look at defensive line
- 43:30Their defensive line is pretty good
- 43:32You could go and get a veteran if you want to or you can draft one of these guys if you really wanted to you know
- 43:38That that's an option
- 43:39You know what?
- 43:41With with the rams because I mean you still have brendan fisk you have jared verse you have kobe turner like
- 43:47You have some pretty good some really good guys in your defensive line
- 43:50And if you wanted to add another one you could you're not necessarily sure it's like I have to do this. It's more of a
- 43:57Do we want to do this now do we want to do this later right?
- 44:01This tight end class is actually good and with someone like a tyler higbee who
- 44:06Is big up jen he's been battling with a lot of guys
- 44:08Probably want to go and you know get you a tight end you know you could get someone like a harold fennan
- 44:14Junior you can go and get the tight end of miami you could go and get someone like a tyler warren if you wanted to right
- 44:21Other position linebacker same thing i've said with with the other previous teams you can chris paul jr
- 44:27Specifically jihak hamill you can go and get the linebacker from um
- 44:33From chris paul jr
- 44:35Linebacker from um from cal if you wanted to you get a barrett carter you could take the veteran approach
- 44:42You have options there same thing with tackle you could go
- 44:46And you can draft one
- 44:48Or you can pay for one
- 44:50now paying for one
- 44:52You might be able to first deal someone like a dan more
- 44:57You could get them for maybe like eight maybe 12 million a year. It's not gonna break the bank
- 45:02You know or you can go you can draft one you can get the tackle from mazou you get the tackle from uh, ohio
- 45:09So you can get the tackle from oregon like you have uh different options there
- 45:13wide receiver
- 45:15That's the only position that i'm a little bit skeptical about only because
- 45:20The wide receiver class this year is just not good
- 45:23It feels like how it was maybe two or three years ago probably fine no problems whatsoever
- 45:28But this class outside of day one no
- 45:30No
- 45:31Now the day two and day three class I feel like there are a lot of hidden gems someone like a jaden higgins
- 45:38the receiver from
- 45:39Stanford you could get a jack best you could get saviour williams
- 45:44You can get isaiah bond like you have some really good notable receivers and the beauty of it is
- 45:50They're not all the same type you have, you know, your shifty guys. You got your fast guys
- 45:56You got your physical receivers. You got your blocking receivers. You got your yak receivers like you have different
- 46:03Archievers in this draft class, which is actually really good now when we look at corner
- 46:08Corner is something that if i'm the rams
- 46:12Do I want to prior prioritize that high?
- 46:15you know
- 46:16Do I want to go and bring in proven or do I want to get a rookie that I can build?
- 46:21Now the thing that would benefit them a lot is a lot of these corners are not going to be drafted high
- 46:28I do not expect will johnson to be drafted high. I do not expect benjamin moravon revel to be drafted high
- 46:34I think the only person that could be drafted high and that's depending on if he participates in the combine or not
- 46:42Is trey amos?
- 46:44outside of him
- 46:46Nobody else should be that super that super high
- 46:48Because benjamin morrison and will johnson all have the same red flag injury concerns
- 46:54Siobhan revel won't be available until training camp benjamin morrison might be the same boat as well
- 47:00And maybe even will johnson as well
- 47:03So all in all you have options with every single one of these positions
- 47:08You don't necessarily have to address it high in the draft if you don't want to
- 47:13If you want to wait and see how the board falls, sure you can do that
- 47:17If you want to go and trade down you can do that if you want to trade up you can do that
- 47:22You have options even with defensive line. You could get someone like an alfred collins
- 47:27You can get the defensive lineman from noah dayne like you get tj sanders from south carolina. You can get a defensive lineman
- 47:34What is his name deon walker like you have options?
- 47:38You have a boatload of options the rams are one of the teams where honestly speaking
- 47:43They have been better at drafting in the later parts of the draft
- 47:48Than what they have been in the first half of the draft
- 47:51Remember that year where they didn't have a whole lot of draft picks like they gave away
- 47:55I think like their first their second their third uh fourth round picks just so they can have a bowl team and whatnot
- 48:02And look what happened those later picks those things hit
- 48:06So, I don't know how they do it, but they do it
- 48:09They definitely do it now for the rain
- 48:12The rims are in a really good spot, but it all depends on what matthew staffer does and matthew staff stays with the rams
- 48:19They are still a wild card slash playoff caliber team
- 48:23If he leaves
- 48:25Depending who they bring in will determine if they are right back where they were last year
- 48:30Or nowhere at all because if they bring in someone like a erin rogers
- 48:35I don't think that moves the needle
- 48:37But if you bring in someone like a justin fields, I think there is potential
- 48:42I think for justin fields going to someone like a shawn mcveigh would be great because he would refine you and he would work with you
- 48:50To make you a better passing quarterback. I think that would be great honestly, but only time will tell
- 48:55But when we look at candidates for restructure extension trades and cuts matthew stafford
- 49:01extension or trade
- 49:02Okay, when we look at his market value, it's only the first time he's been in the game
- 49:06Market value it's only a two-year 83.3 million view which is only 41.8 million a year. That's not bad
- 49:13I think that's reasonable honestly, and you can make it front-loaded or you could backload it you have options
- 49:19Okay, joseph no boom mentioned possibly, you know his market value isn't that high. I think you could bring him back
- 49:26I don't see the reason to you know, let him go to to atwell same thing. The marcus robertson same thing
- 49:31You know
- 49:32You could give these guys low extensions and it won't necessarily break the bank, but at the same time you keep
- 49:38Some players that you really believe in
- 49:40I think all in all
- 49:42I don't think there's like a whole lot of people on their team where it's like yeah
- 49:45You got to get rid of them or or you got to trade this person or or you got to do this
- 49:49We got to do that like no like the rooms are actually in a really good space
- 49:53it's just right now you have to continue to build off of what you have right now because
- 49:59Let's be real here
- 50:00Give it about maybe two years
- 50:02They may be back in the super bowl
- 50:04Just saying now when we look at the cardinals, okay, their salary situation is this
- 50:0971.3 million in cap space with a rollover cap of 11.3 million. Okay, they're free agents
- 50:15kaiser white will hernandez matt prater calvin beecham zack paschall zay jones barron browning and
- 50:21Dennis gardic just to name a few okay, they're draft picks
- 50:25They have a first a second a third a fourth and a fifth their positions need for interior offensive line linebacker
- 50:32Pretty straightforward. Okay now with receiver
- 50:37I think they could trade up. I think they could go and get someone like
- 50:42TMAC or they could get someone like a luther bernie if they want to or they can get
- 50:45Amekabuka, right matthew golden you have options there or you can wait for the day two and day three selections
- 50:51And you can get someone like isaiah bond or jack besh or saviour williams just to name a few
- 50:57When we look at interior offensive line
- 51:00I think if you bring back someone like will hernandez, I don't think it's going to really break the bank
- 51:05Even when you look at his market value, it's only a two-year
- 51:088.5 million dollar deal which is only 4.3 million a year. That's not bad at all
- 51:15You could do that or you could bring in another veteran if you wanted to or you could just draft one
- 51:20the carnals are starting to get their act together, okay, because
- 51:24We all remember where they had kylmer and d hop and aj green and jj wad and everyone was saying like oh
- 51:31This is gonna be a team. Everybody got to worry about and they just fell off a cliff
- 51:36Well now they finally got their act together and now they're in a really good space
- 51:40And so it's only up from here. And so their positions of need really isn't that bad
- 51:46Like you can go where you can get a receiver from the agency
- 51:50And maybe draft one, you know, it'll be perfectly fine
- 51:53Or you could do the same thing with linebacker or you could do the same thing with offensive line if you want to
- 51:59But right now they have a lot of pieces in their favor. Okay
- 52:04Same thing with linebacker if you want to address it high go ahead go for it
- 52:09Go ahead and get someone like a jihak campbell if you want to if you feel that high about go ahead and get someone like
- 52:15A chris paul jr. If you want to go ahead and get someone
- 52:19Like a barrett cardinal if you want to you have options
- 52:23This is the beauty of a team like the cardinals
- 52:25You have a lot of cap space you have a high enough draft pick where either you can trade up or you can trade down
- 52:31Because somebody will be interested to either trading down with you or trading up with you
- 52:37Just saying now when we look at extensions
- 52:40Restructures trades or cuts kai zero white give an extension
- 52:44It's not going to break the bank two years 11.5 million, which is only 5.8 million a year. Not bad
- 52:50Zejong same thing his market value one year 1.4 million, you know 1.4 million a year. That's not bad
- 52:57Calvin beach him he may have a market just because he's a swing tackle and he's a really productive and consistent swing tackle
- 53:06He may have a market that might be the one where
- 53:09He may
- 53:11He may test the free agency
- 53:13He may test the free agency, but even with his market value, it's only a one year 4 million dollar deal
- 53:18Which is only 4.1 million a year. That's not bad. That's actually really good
- 53:24The cardinals are in a really good spot
- 53:26Just saying I wouldn't be surprised if they made a few splashy moves
- 53:30In the first two weeks of free agency just saying
- 53:35Now on to the final team that we have to talk about and that is the seahawks. So the seahawks
- 53:40Are in a bad situation
- 53:42Okay, they are in a really bad situation. All right
- 53:46So they are negative 11.3 million in cap space with a roll over cap of 8.4 million
- 53:51Free agents jaren reed feral brown jonathan hankins kvon wallace kaelin thomas and arty burns
- 53:57Ernest jones trey brown and trevis gibson just to name a few okay
- 54:03Draft picks first second third
- 54:05Second third fourth fifth two sixth round picks and set up around pick. Okay positions of need interior off-tide in corners safety receiver
- 54:14Okay, where do we start from here? So for one?
- 54:17You're in the red with cap space
- 54:19Two you have to figure out exactly what's going on with your offense and and whatnot moving forward
- 54:25Because apparently jeno smith posted like a cryptic tweet not too long ago of lebron
- 54:30You know getting up and leaving the conference when he was wearing the suit and whatnot
- 54:34So that probably lets me know that there's a little bit of discourse going on in seattle right now
- 54:41For one you have a few options. Okay interior offensive line
- 54:46Most likely you'll probably draft that
- 54:48Same thing with tight end same thing with corner same thing with safety and same thing with receiver
- 54:55Okay
- 54:55But with tight end you have a little bit of flexing because you could get someone like a colston loveland
- 55:01or you can get someone like a tyler warren or
- 55:05uh harold fanden fanden jr or
- 55:09I keep forgetting about what is his name?
- 55:11But I know he's a tight end from from miami who's like really productive like
- 55:16You have options that tighten the tight end class this year is actually pretty good, but corner
- 55:21Is a position that I think they can address and maybe day two and day three
- 55:25Only because I think of a slot corner and outside corner because I mean you have tari woolen and devin weatherspoon
- 55:30So you could go and get someone like a jade baron or maxwell harrison from kentucky
- 55:37You did well to well to well to well to well to quincey riley like you have some really good slot options
- 55:43This year believe it or not so
- 55:46You can address that day two or day three
- 55:49No problem compared to maybe safety or receiver safety
- 55:55Believe it or not
- 55:56And this is just my take personally that safety from south carolina
- 56:02He is going to be a problem
- 56:04If you put him on the right defense, he is going to be a menace to society
- 56:106 3
- 56:11200 some pounds he is ready to go. He is let it be known. Listen, i'm gonna make some plays
- 56:19I'm that guy he's letting it be known between him and malachy starks
- 56:24I feel like those two are definite first round pick safeties
- 56:28But the question is do you want to invest a first round pick into a safety because receiver?
- 56:33It's not that good as I will continue to say so there's no need for you to do it
- 56:37Interior offensive line
- 56:39Do you really want to do that? I don't think so tight in now tied in for sure. Yes
- 56:44You could you know draft colston lovelin if you wanted to but all the other positions you can draft them day two and day three
- 56:51But I think the primary thing that you have to figure out is are you keeping jeno smith or not?
- 56:57If you are not keeping jeno smith
- 56:59Then you need to figure out exactly what you're going to do moving forward and you have to clean up your cap space
- 57:04When we move down to candidates for restructure extension trades and cuts tighter lock it either trade or cut
- 57:11at this point
- 57:12because
- 57:13Right now when we when we look at everything his base salary. Yes is only 10 million this year
- 57:18But his cap hit is 30.8 million
- 57:2330.8 million
- 57:26One or two things are going to happen either
- 57:28They're going to restructure that deal or they're just going to cut ties with them
- 57:32But the only problem is is tyler locket really going to have a strong market. No, I don't think so
- 57:38I think right now
- 57:40He probably has maybe one more good year
- 57:44And that's if he really wants to play I don't think he really wants to play
- 57:47I mean he has nothing else to prove. I mean you did everything you needed to do you won a super bowl
- 57:54You've had a really productive career like there's nothing else for you to prove at this point compared like a jeno smith where
- 58:01If they got rid of him
- 58:03It'll be a little bit tricky because why this year his base salary is only 14.8 million
- 58:10But his cap hit is 44.5 million
- 58:13And they did things that finish an experience of 2. после
- 58:17They our ch疫i
- 58:19That's how it finished
- 58:20They were driving really fast
- 58:23between
- 58:24They got some bad contracts
- 58:26they got a that they got to clean up and they got to clean it up really quickly if they want to try to really help
- 58:31this team out because the Donegie Brown is are really
- 58:34Competitive team that defense is really good
- 58:37breaking news breaking news breaking news folks Trey Smith guard for the
- 58:42Chiefs has been franchise-tagged okay because they are trying to work on a
- 58:46long-term extension okay this is being reported insiders including Adam Shepter
- 58:52Ian Rappaport the big ones okay the big wigs okay so with this franchise tag
- 58:58it's basically a one-year 23.4 million dollar deal fully guaranteed now
- 59:04technically this will make him the highest pay but we know that this is a
- 59:09placeholder for a long-term deal most likely they're going to get a deal done
- 59:14within the next few days okay they just didn't want him to you know hit free
- 59:19agency and then start you know talking with other teams and then you know the
- 59:22legal tampering period is you know right around the corner and whatnot so if
- 59:27this happens that means that everyone's free agency board is messed up now
- 59:33because if I'm not mistaken he is the number one sought-after free agent you
- 59:38know this year so maybe this will go in a good direction maybe this will go in
- 59:43the bad direction but only time will tell this is still an ongoing situation
- 59:47so stay tuned for that but but back to the Seahawks so when we look at you know
- 59:51extensions and whatnot Tyree Woolen I think you probably should give him an
- 59:55extension now I feel like there's no need to to wait just do it now because
- 1:00:01right now if you wait you run the risk of potentially having to pay him a
- 1:00:08little bit more next season because sauce is due for a contract soon are you
- 1:00:13gonna wait for sauce to get a deal or are you gonna be a little bit front and
- 1:00:18just hey let's just come to the table now let's get a deal hashed out right now
- 1:00:22before anything else crazy happens but all in all there's not a lot of stuff
- 1:00:27that they really have to work on except for you know Gino Smith Tyler Locking
- 1:00:31DK Metcalfe once they figure out those three contracts I think we will have a
- 1:00:35better view of their right now yet you're gonna have a little bit of a bump
- 1:00:41in you know in salary cap because you know everybody is getting a bump in
- 1:00:45salary cap but it's not going to be significant enough to where you guys can
- 1:00:50be big playmakers in free agency now me personally do I think they're going to
- 1:00:56keep all three no I think at best Tyler Lockett retires DK Metcalfe gets traded
- 1:01:03and Gino Smith gets traded and I think the Seahawks will probably either draft
- 1:01:09a quarterback or they'll just take a swing at like a bridge quarterback and
- 1:01:13then make the big move that they need to make for next year but I'm gonna end
- 1:01:18this episode here if you guys like what you are listening oh wait nope I forgot
- 1:01:22you thought this episode was over no it is not over because we have to react to
- 1:01:26the Mel Kuiper mock draft so I don't know what it is and I may have to rewatch
- 1:01:32his his footage but I just don't see it with Abdul Carter I don't know what it
- 1:01:37is but people are making it seem like he's like the next Michael Parsons or
- 1:01:41Julius Peppers or you know one of these top-end pass rushers like I just don't
- 1:01:45see it I see somebody that relies more on this athleticism than his skill set
- 1:01:50like I don't need an athletic pass rusher I need a technician a technician
- 1:01:57is going to last longer than an athletic pass rusher because guess what if one
- 1:02:02injury happens to that athletic pass rusher they're done because why you
- 1:02:06never worked on your skill set so now you're basically a sitting duck compared
- 1:02:11to a technician where his game can just evolve and it's just gonna age like wine
- 1:02:17even as he get older Pam Hayward is not this super athletic player but he's a
- 1:02:22technician when it comes to the use of his hands and whatnot same thing for
- 1:02:26Miles Garrett Miles Garrett's game is going to age very well because why he
- 1:02:30doesn't have to rely on his athleticism he relies on what his technique that is
- 1:02:36important here but moving on can war go second overall yeah I guess the giant
- 1:02:47pick Travis Hunter no well you know what no I take that back I take the back I
- 1:02:52take it back the only way this would happen is if they either get Sam
- 1:02:57Darnold Matthew Stafford or another quarterback I don't think that's gonna
- 1:03:01happen personally Patriots will Campbell yeah depends really me personally I could
- 1:03:09view him as a guard that's just my personal opinion I think he's better at
- 1:03:14guard than tackle because of how short his arms are but you know we'll find out
- 1:03:19you know his his measurements and whatnot in the coming days Jacksonville
- 1:03:24Jaguars they pick Mason Graham that's a great pick helps with the defense let's
- 1:03:28see let's keep this party going just get your door Sanders no I personally do not
- 1:03:35like this one I don't know what it is but your door
- 1:03:39Sanders when it comes to his ball placement I love it spot-on but there is
- 1:03:45nothing about your door Sanders that just screams a person that you can rely
- 1:03:51on to win you or to carry you to the playoffs I just don't see it but I could
- 1:03:55be wrong Panthers choosing Jaylen Walker that is an intriguing pick especially
- 1:04:00with them Shaq Thompson that they're going to let him go that could be
- 1:04:04definitely an intriguing pick because he probably could play both mill linebacker
- 1:04:09in outside linebacker honestly speaking ninth overall Tyler Warren to the Saints
- 1:04:14I actually like that because Spencer Rattler needs some weapons okay outside
- 1:04:19of Chris Harvey and Alvin Camara what else do you have adding Tyler Warren
- 1:04:22would definitely help out substantially Bears Joss Simmons yes yes
- 1:04:30doesn't need help at offensive line significantly 49ers choose Will Johnson
- 1:04:36we just talked about which is crazy so yeah I actually like that pig our boys
- 1:04:41getting a Marion Hampton no I do not like that personally I would have thought
- 1:04:45that they would either get a defensive player or that they would get a receiver
- 1:04:49and I only say that because that needs weapons okay outside of CD Lam who else
- 1:04:59do you really have and then not to mention you do need to address the
- 1:05:04offensive line as well because the offensive line is going through rebuild
- 1:05:08with them losing Zack Martin to retirement that whole offensive line is
- 1:05:13gonna have to go through rebuild like come on now the Dolphins getting Armand
- 1:05:19men boo from Mizzou I actually like that I definitely do like that he's a really
- 1:05:24good right tackle he is definitely somebody that I've definitely had my eye
- 1:05:28on if we didn't have Troy Fortuna specifically this I'm speaking for the
- 1:05:33Steelers just saying if we didn't have Troy Fortuna I would have definitely say
- 1:05:36go after him Colts getting Malachi Starks yes because I think their safety
- 1:05:41is a free agent so that would definitely make a lot of sense 15 the Falcons my
- 1:05:46green yes yes because they do need patch rusher help bad their patch rushers
- 1:05:53were not able to do anything and then with them trading Jude on they would
- 1:05:58have thought you know getting Jude on would definitely would have helped no it
- 1:06:01did not help it actually made things worse I don't know why 16th
- 1:06:07Samara Stewart to the Cardinals they've actually I can I can roll with that I
- 1:06:13can roll with that Samara Stewart is definitely somebody that could play in
- 1:06:19he can definitely be a really good productive patch rusher I think if the
- 1:06:23Cardinals really wanted to stand out and seem to build on that defensive line if
- 1:06:28you do that I guarantee you they will be a problem 17th pick Cincinnati
- 1:06:33Bengals select Michael Williams no comment no comment
- 1:06:39Seattle Seahawks choose Tyler Booker guard from Alabama I could see that I
- 1:06:45could definitely see that because all the other positions they can address
- 1:06:50that in the later parts of the draft as just said 19th pick Tampa Bay
- 1:06:54Buccaneers select G Ha Campbell yes to replace Levante David great pick up
- 1:07:00great great great great great great that will be a great let's see Denver
- 1:07:06Broncos choose Colston Loveland yes because they do need a really productive
- 1:07:09tight end 21 Pittsburgh Steelers and Mecca Bucca yes only because a Mecca
- 1:07:15Buccas is a Swiss Army knife and he can play both inside and outside and he's a
- 1:07:20really blocker so definitely not opposed to it me personally I would have thought
- 1:07:25you know address either corner or defensive line early but only time will
- 1:07:31tell this is interesting though throw a big mo that is interesting that's very
- 1:07:38interesting not because of the the plate well yes because of the player because
- 1:07:43if he does drop it's a major red flags but at the same time the Chargers do
- 1:07:49need weapons okay outside of lab McConkey Quinn Johnson he just haven't
- 1:07:53lived up to the hype he's a bus at this point you need as many receivers as you
- 1:07:57possibly can all right and he is somebody that can catch the 50-50 ball
- 1:08:02that's gonna be his specialty Packers choosing Ezra Thomas it's meant for
- 1:08:08Jair Alexander Minnesota Vikings choose Gray Zabel perfect he is somebody I was
- 1:08:16watching the senior bowl he definitely caught my attention because for them to
- 1:08:20move him into the interior part of the offensive line he was man man just to
- 1:08:26get somebody like him when you're offensive line come on man let's see 25th
- 1:08:31pick the Houston Texans select Kelvin Banks jr. well I could see him falling
- 1:08:41but at the same time I would be surprised especially for the Texans
- 1:08:47because the Texans do need offensive line help bad like CJ Stroud was right
- 1:08:51for life a majority of this season you have to surround him with a good
- 1:08:56offensive line otherwise he is not going to last long let's see Rams Rams choose
- 1:09:02a Connolly jr. tackle from Oregon yes because they do need to address
- 1:09:07offensive line as I will continue say the Ravens choose Nick Amanwari from
- 1:09:14South Carolina and I literally just had this argument with MOOC in the morning
- 1:09:20listen if they get him and you pair him with Kyle Hamilton it's like the
- 1:09:26Undertaker and Kane in the 90s the brothers of destruction you are talking
- 1:09:32about two safeties that are going to take your head off nothing else left to
- 1:09:38say moving forward lines they choose an outside linebacker alu wa Fahmy ala
- 1:09:47Dejo from UCLA they do need patch rusher help outside of you know Hutch I think
- 1:09:53I think this definitely would help now they did try to you know pass it up by
- 1:09:58Smith didn't really get a whole lot of production out of him so I think this
- 1:10:01would be a good move if they can't get you know Miles Garrett which please a
- 1:10:06little got please God no commanders choosing Maxwell Hairston yes I think
- 1:10:12that's actually a really good pick now I wouldn't expect for him to be a first
- 1:10:16round pick though personally I would have thought maybe get Trey Amos or
- 1:10:20Siobhan revel or any of those guys personally but Buffalo Bills Jadai
- 1:10:25Baron yes because they do need to address the cornerback position okay
- 1:10:30because that corner they drafted a few years ago Chi I was a Kyrie elam he's
- 1:10:37gone he's gone he is not coming back he has fallen out of their good graces okay
- 1:10:43Kansas City Chiefs choosing Arians a nursery tackle from Minnesota
- 1:10:48definitely could see that because that was definitely one of their weak points
- 1:10:51in the Super Bowl was their offensive line and we all know Andy Reid is going
- 1:10:55to address that position he is not going to go into another season with a bad
- 1:11:00offensive line rest assured they're going to lock up Trey Smith and they are
- 1:11:05definitely going to address the line in multiple different ways in the 30 second
- 1:11:09pick why why just why why why the Eagles choose Walter Nolan another defensive
- 1:11:21lineman folks you know what that's it podcasts over yep podcast is over folks

- 1:14:32trade okay games last season Rashawn Jenkins had 53 tackles two sacks and a
- 1:14:37fumble return for a touchdown not surprised they are definitely going to
- 1:14:41go after a safety in this draft class will it be Malachi Starks will it be
- 1:14:47the safety from South Carolina will it be the safety from Alabama or will it be
