- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are last break of the day. Finally,
- 0:03Speaker 1: our prayers are definitely with the victims of the horrific
- 0:06Speaker 1: flash flooding in central Texas. Over eighty people have been
- 0:10Speaker 1: reportedly deceased, according to officials, That includes at least twenty
- 0:16Speaker 1: eight children in Kirk County, where ten girls and one
- 0:19Speaker 1: counselor from Camp Mystic are still unaccounted for, and unfortunately
- 0:23Speaker 1: the threat of flooding is still high with more rain
- 0:26Speaker 1: expected in the Hunt area of Kerr County, Texas. Our
- 0:29Speaker 1: prayers are with the victims' families, and you can also
- 0:33Speaker 1: join us today and donate to the Kerr County Flood
- 0:36Speaker 1: really Fun at Communityfoundation dot net. There you go, Steve, Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Hey, you know, I've been following this tragedy and it's
- 0:47Speaker 2: just a horrible, horrible situation. I just wish that people
- 0:53Speaker 2: would be just a bit more understanding. You know. Look,
- 0:58Speaker 2: I know the media has a job to do, you know,
- 1:00Speaker 2: the media has to report and ask questions. But I
- 1:04Speaker 2: was so hurting for this man whose daughter is still
- 1:09Speaker 2: missing and his father. Now his brother and wife went
- 1:17Speaker 2: to over the father's house to warn him of this flood,
- 1:22Speaker 2: and by the time they got upstairs to get to him,
- 1:26Speaker 2: he had got swept away. And this man was heartbroken.
- 1:29Speaker 2: And I was listening to all these stories, and then
- 1:31Speaker 2: I listened to another man who was looking for his
- 1:33Speaker 2: little girl. And it's just a horrific situation to be
- 1:36Speaker 2: and it's unimaginable. You know, all these kids at this
- 1:40Speaker 2: camp is so many children gone, so many adults go.
- 1:44Speaker 2: These are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, grandparents. It's heartbreaking.
- 1:51Speaker 2: But sometimes the media, in our freedom of speech, we
- 1:54Speaker 2: can be such, we can be so wrong on so
- 1:58Speaker 2: many levels. You know, the authorities were out trying to
- 2:01Speaker 2: explain everything, to give an update on the death count. Now,
- 2:06Speaker 2: this is a horrible thing to have to do, anyway,
- 2:10Speaker 2: to go out here and explain to everybody when you
- 2:13Speaker 2: have no control over this situation. You didn't cause it,
- 2:16Speaker 2: and you certainly couldn't have prevented it. But here comes
- 2:20Speaker 2: the questions are, why weren't they warned? Why wasn't the
- 2:28Speaker 2: people giving the proper amount of notice? And the poor
- 2:32Speaker 2: guy was just standing there and he kept saying, well,
- 2:35Speaker 2: all of our efforts right now, we'll get to those
- 2:37Speaker 2: answers at one point, but right now, all of our
- 2:41Speaker 2: efforts on trying to recover anybody that made any survivors
- 2:45Speaker 2: or any victims. That's our number one goal. And he
- 2:48Speaker 2: kept he said that probably ten times during the speech, right,
- 2:52Speaker 2: but this reporter kept on pressing him, and I just
- 2:55Speaker 2: wanted to go, lady, are you for real? You know, look,
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm not an expert or Mother Nature by any stretch
- 3:01Speaker 2: of the imagination, but the term flash flood has two
- 3:06Speaker 2: key words in it, flash and flood. And nobody could
- 3:13Speaker 2: have predicted the intensity of either one of those, how
- 3:18Speaker 2: fast and furious and how much water. And nobody could
- 3:22Speaker 2: have predicted that. You know, look, this ain't a hurricane
- 3:26Speaker 2: that bruised off shore miles and miles and you get
- 3:31Speaker 2: a category reading and a name given to it, and
- 3:34Speaker 2: people get time to evacuate. There was none of that.
- 3:38Speaker 2: These people's lives ended tragically by Mother Nature. And I
- 3:44Speaker 2: just wish people would be more sensitive. You know, it's
- 3:47Speaker 2: you know, we've all heard this. You know, you remember
- 3:50Speaker 2: growing up, your mom used to say, if you can't
- 3:52Speaker 2: say something good, then don't say nothing at all. Sometimes
- 3:56Speaker 2: we need to remember that. Sometimes we just need to
- 4:00Speaker 2: remember that. And social media and AI with all these
- 4:05Speaker 2: fake floods that they create and doing stuff for clicks
- 4:09Speaker 2: and likes. You know, we've just gotten into that as
- 4:11Speaker 2: a society. I think what should be applauded are the
- 4:15Speaker 2: first responders who are going out there, all of the
- 4:18Speaker 2: volunteers from the community who are spending got their chainsaws
- 4:22Speaker 2: out trying to cut through branches and dig and look
- 4:25Speaker 2: for possible survivors or victims. I think the credit should
- 4:29Speaker 2: be given to those people. The prayers need to go
- 4:32Speaker 2: out for the families who lost loved ones, prayers need
- 4:35Speaker 2: to go out for people who's trying to find people
- 4:38Speaker 2: because there's a strong possibility that they that a lot
- 4:43Speaker 2: of these people are gone. And I just think Man
- 4:47Speaker 2: as a country and as a people, we just we
- 4:49Speaker 2: just need to get back to what those neighbors are
- 4:52Speaker 2: doing for each other. They're out there helping, looking, trying
- 4:55Speaker 2: to create some type of closure, peace of mind, some
- 5:00Speaker 2: for these people. And I just wish media Man would
- 5:03Speaker 2: take a different approach, you know, but our media is
- 5:07Speaker 2: it's gone this way. You know, like since we're talking
- 5:09Speaker 2: about media, just switching the subject here in my clothing remarks.
- 5:15Speaker 2: You know, Donald J. Trump is the president. He is
- 5:18Speaker 2: the president of the United States, and there's nothing you
- 5:21Speaker 2: can do about that. And somebody asked me recently, they said, hey, Steve,
- 5:25Speaker 2: hey man, I don't hear you talking about Trump a
- 5:28Speaker 2: lot on your show. Well, hey, look we on this show.
- 5:32Speaker 2: We asked you to vote. We asked you to vote
- 5:35Speaker 2: every day. Now, a lot of people went out and voted,
- 5:38Speaker 2: and a lot of people didn't. The fact of the
- 5:41Speaker 2: matter is he won the popular vote, vote by five
- 5:44Speaker 2: million people. That was the will of this country. So
- 5:47Speaker 2: now what you want Steve Harvey to do about that?
- 5:50Speaker 2: This is who you voted for. This is who you get.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I'm not gonna sit here for four years and be
- 5:55Speaker 2: mad for four years about something I can't do anything about.
- 6:00Speaker 2: When we had a chance to do something about it,
- 6:02Speaker 2: your chance was to do it was at the polls.
- 6:05Speaker 2: He's doing everything he said he was gonna do. But
- 6:08Speaker 2: I have chosen to keep my faith in God, keep
- 6:11Speaker 2: moving on, keep looking to heavens from what's all my
- 6:14Speaker 2: help coming, And I'm gonna be fine and you will too.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Just quit putting your faith in man, because man ain't
- 6:20Speaker 2: got nothing for you. And we're all about to find
- 6:23Speaker 2: that out real soon. Now those are my closing remarks today.
- 6:27Speaker 2: If you don't like them, just be here tomorrow. We'll
- 6:32Speaker 2: have some more. You might like them, but them you
- 6:36Speaker 2: probably didn't like. Have a great day, Steve allmos.
