- 3:01Speaker 1: Hold up, Hold up, I'm rushing myself. Big shout out
- 3:05Speaker 1: to hip Hop DX dot com. Okay, I got a
- 3:08Speaker 1: couple of new people on hered let me just look
- 3:09Speaker 1: at your name real quick Music Times dot com as
- 3:14Speaker 1: well as Hotnew hip Hop dot com for providing some
- 3:19Speaker 1: of the information from some of these stories. But without
- 3:22Speaker 1: further ado, let's get right into the business right at
- 3:27Speaker 1: the top. Cameron sues j Coole over a song called
- 3:35Speaker 1: Ready twenty four in which Cameron appeared. It was on
- 3:41Speaker 1: the might Delete Later, which kind of deleted himself later
- 3:48Speaker 1: from the battle you know that battle do Drake Ken
- 3:52Speaker 1: Drake J Coole saying you know I'm gonna take it
- 3:55Speaker 1: on the chin, you know whatever he said, man like,
- 3:58Speaker 1: come on, it's damn it, Jacob. I like Jacole, But
- 4:03Speaker 1: the suit is he's claimed. Cameron has claimed that he's
- 4:06Speaker 1: old five hundred k now. According to TMZ, the Dipset
- 4:13Speaker 1: Legend has filed a lawsuit against the Dreamville star, claiming
- 4:17Speaker 1: that he appeared on Cole's Mike Delete Later track in
- 4:21Speaker 1: exchange for either a guest verse on appearance on his
- 4:25Speaker 1: popular YouTube sports show It Is What It Is. This
- 4:31Speaker 1: is coming from hip hop d X by the way.
- 4:33Speaker 1: In the two years since the song was recorded, however,
- 4:36Speaker 1: Killer Camra legends that Cole has yet to fulfill their
- 4:39Speaker 1: agreement and has repeatedly rejected his request to record a
- 4:43Speaker 1: collaboration or be a guest on his aforementioned show. The
- 4:48Speaker 1: Hall of Native is seeking monetary compensation for his contributions
- 4:52Speaker 1: to the Ready to Ready twenty four, asking a judge
- 4:56Speaker 1: to legally declare him the co author of the song
- 5:00Speaker 1: so he can receive his fair share of its proceeds.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Cam is demanding a full accounting of the song's earnings
- 5:09Speaker 1: and estimates that he is old at least five hundred k.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Neither Cameron nor j Cole have yet to publicly comment
- 5:20Speaker 1: on the lawsuit. All right, so let's clear the dummies
- 5:24Speaker 1: out there are a lot of people who love social
- 5:28Speaker 1: media and the Internet because it allows them to be
- 5:32Speaker 1: the ignorant people they are. Now, don't look at that
- 5:36Speaker 1: as just an insult. Some people are really proud to
- 5:40Speaker 1: not know. They prefer to not know because it feeds
- 5:44Speaker 1: a feeling, right, and it's usually a negative feeling. So
- 5:49Speaker 1: they can, you know, express that in regards to whoever
- 5:54Speaker 1: it may be, because there's something not right with their
- 5:57Speaker 1: own lives, right, that's what it's just you just channeling,
- 6:01Speaker 1: You're just projecting. Now, why would I say all that
- 6:05Speaker 1: when we're talking about seeing Well, that's because a lot
- 6:07Speaker 1: of people look at this as not hip hop to sue.
- 6:11Speaker 1: But what they don't know is suing has been happening
- 6:14Speaker 1: well before Drake did it. Example, you can go back
- 6:20Speaker 1: to not even that long, but you can go on
- 6:24Speaker 1: YouTube and just like search for Noorri complaining damn there
- 6:30Speaker 1: crying about being sued by another rapper or whoever within
- 6:34Speaker 1: the music industry, and he, you know, he's hesitant to
- 6:38Speaker 1: talk about it because you know, you can't talk about
- 6:40Speaker 1: litigation in some instances unless you're a dummy. And this
- 6:45Speaker 1: is like what late nineties I think when this is happening.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So suing is a thing now. The difference between Drake sewing, well,
- 6:55Speaker 1: Drake's suing for defamation of character for lyrics and a
- 7:01Speaker 1: that's not hip hop because never in the history of
- 7:06Speaker 1: hip hop battle rap has the one the person who
- 7:10Speaker 1: lost filed a suit because of what was saying or
- 7:14Speaker 1: even the person that won like because if it's a
- 7:16Speaker 1: back and forth, it's a part of a battle to
- 7:19Speaker 1: say things that in some cases aren't true, or to
- 7:24Speaker 1: define the other. God, that's what battle rap is. You're
- 7:27Speaker 1: doing what the sport of battle rap requires. And Drake
- 7:33Speaker 1: is no different. That's what makes his lawsuit seem stupid.
- 7:38Speaker 1: From a man who says, I study battle rap, he
- 7:42Speaker 1: can't even keep up with himself. The Cameron thing is
- 7:46Speaker 1: a breach of contract. This is totally different. Some would say,
- 7:52Speaker 1: oh this him, what kind of broke? Answer is that
- 7:57Speaker 1: they are in the business. I don't care how dope
- 8:01Speaker 1: you feel your favorite MC is they get a check
- 8:04Speaker 1: to do it. They're not at the recipe Sean Price.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Sean Price wasn't just rhyming on the corner just like
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm the illest guy. I just want to give off
- 8:14Speaker 1: my my art and my energy. No, Sean Price was
- 8:18Speaker 1: getting a check too. He could say either broke his
- 8:20Speaker 1: wrapper alive, but he ain't doing no free shows. It's
- 8:23Speaker 1: a business man, and when you're contractually obligated or handshake
- 8:29Speaker 1: or whatever it is, the assumption is that you're going
- 8:34Speaker 1: to honor that contract. And a contract, so to speak,
- 8:38Speaker 1: of this nature where it's like Cole, give me a verse,
- 8:42Speaker 1: like I gave you a verse, or just hop on
- 8:46Speaker 1: my show. Now I can understand j Cole not wanting
- 8:50Speaker 1: to go on the show. I can understand him ghosting
- 8:53Speaker 1: that when you can just really say we not want to,
- 8:57Speaker 1: we don't want to do that. The answer has been
- 9:00Speaker 1: Jake hole is not available. Right. I can understand that
- 9:03Speaker 1: because unfortunately, every time Ja Cole pops out on the
- 9:08Speaker 1: beach with sneakers on, people are talking about him. Every
- 9:14Speaker 1: time he drops a song or whatever, people are talking
- 9:17Speaker 1: about him, and it's all rose lead back to the
- 9:21Speaker 1: battle because how it ended for him, and it's almost
- 9:25Speaker 1: as if he can't shake it and get started and
- 9:29Speaker 1: move to the next thing. Now sidebar Ja Cole, if
- 9:36Speaker 1: you're finding that every time you drop a record, all
- 9:39Speaker 1: people say is you quit. Shut up. We don't want
- 9:43Speaker 1: to hear from you. You gotta call Kenny. You gotta
- 9:48Speaker 1: call Kung Fu Kenny, you gotta call gate Dot, you
- 9:50Speaker 1: gotta call Kendrick Lamar and say, brother, I need your help. Okay.
- 9:56Speaker 1: They won't listen to me when I come out and
- 10:00Speaker 1: talk about the battle, apologize about the battle, say I'm
- 10:03Speaker 1: moving on from the battle. But if you collaborate with me,
- 10:08Speaker 1: they won't be able to say anything. Some will say
- 10:12Speaker 1: like look at him, but nobody will pay attention to
- 10:16Speaker 1: them because they will just be happy that the universe
- 10:19Speaker 1: is no more, no more Beef. But regarding Cameron, I
- 10:24Speaker 1: could get. I get why j Cole wouldn't want to
- 10:27Speaker 1: go on the show because y'all, I don't want to
- 10:29Speaker 1: How are you not going to ask me about that? Like,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I know it's a sports show, but what people want
- 10:35Speaker 1: to hear won't be who j Cole thinks is going
- 10:38Speaker 1: to the finals. They'll want to hear, Yo, where you've been,
- 10:42Speaker 1: what happened with the battle? What was your real thoughts?
- 10:44Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. And he doesn't want to answer that,
- 10:47Speaker 1: So give him a verse, man, give him a verse.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Give him a verse you already have. And some people
- 10:55Speaker 1: might say, well, maybe he don't want to talk about it.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You don't have to talk about it all. So Jacole
- 11:01Speaker 1: does a lot of features, so why aren't you giving
- 11:04Speaker 1: Cam a feature? So it's one of two things. For one,
- 11:08Speaker 1: it's not against hip hop that Cameron is suing after
- 11:13Speaker 1: he let a grace period of time pass of pursuing Jaco. See,
- 11:18Speaker 1: he didn't go straight to litigation when he didn't get
- 11:21Speaker 1: his money. He kept making attempts to make right on
- 11:27Speaker 1: that agreement. And j Cole is not available. So either
- 11:33Speaker 1: you're going to become available or you're gonna pay, or
- 11:36Speaker 1: you're gonna or give me the verse whatever, and who knows. Again,
- 11:42Speaker 1: both haven't said anything publicly, which could mean they're speaking privately.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And sometimes when this information hits the public, guy and
- 11:53Speaker 1: these guys are more concerned with their image than maybe
- 12:00Speaker 1: J Cole is available now now that everybody knows, maybe
- 12:03Speaker 1: you're available now, so we'll see next. So there was
- 12:13Speaker 1: like a whole story that popped up recently about jay
- 12:20Speaker 1: Z saying he was untouchable in a versus. We know
- 12:25Speaker 1: we're coming off the cash money records and no limit versus.
- 12:29Speaker 1: So everybody's kind of back in mold again as fans
- 12:34Speaker 1: and somehow comments that jay Z said about three or
- 12:38Speaker 1: four years ago are back and people are arguing about
- 12:41Speaker 1: it as if he just said it. But he did
- 12:45Speaker 1: said a long time ago, because I remember Future being
- 12:49Speaker 1: one of those people who said I could compete with
- 12:52Speaker 1: jay Now, this is what jay Z meant by that
- 12:56Speaker 1: as far as being untouchable, his catalog, stamina, and live
- 13:03Speaker 1: performance presence would make a two hour versus battle effectively
- 13:09Speaker 1: unwinnable for any opponent. Now, what does his church say?
- 13:16Speaker 1: I say he lies? Can I get an a man? Okay? Now,
- 13:22Speaker 1: there are not many that can compete, and maybe that's
- 13:27Speaker 1: what the quote from three to four years ago from
- 13:30Speaker 1: jay Z should have been. But there are people who
- 13:34Speaker 1: can compete now. Obviously when it comes to crowds, it
- 13:40Speaker 1: depends on the crowd, right, Like you may have a
- 13:44Speaker 1: crowd that's there for jay Z right and loves jay Z,
- 13:49Speaker 1: But will they like Eminem Because Eminem could compete with
- 13:56Speaker 1: Jay right. He has the catalog right, even though it
- 14:01Speaker 1: might be the first three albums, but he got enough
- 14:03Speaker 1: right in the soundtrack. He has the stage presence, he
- 14:07Speaker 1: has the stamina right. But maybe the content would make
- 14:13Speaker 1: people feel like, well, I don't mess with Eminem, or
- 14:15Speaker 1: I don't like what he said, or that didn't age. Well,
- 14:18Speaker 1: I'm with jay Z Okay, cool, Nas just start with either.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Now I'm just playing, but you know what I'm saying.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Nas has a catalog, he can have twenty joints, he
- 14:31Speaker 1: can have the presence He's actually a better performer than
- 14:35Speaker 1: jay Z if you ask me. Jay Z has become
- 14:37Speaker 1: better over the years, and so has NAS. But I
- 14:41Speaker 1: think NAS haven't seen Nas recently. I think Nas edges
- 14:45Speaker 1: him because his stage show is more than just the
- 14:51Speaker 1: songs driving the entertainment, if you know what I mean. Right,
- 14:56Speaker 1: Like you know you had a show jay Z do
- 14:59Speaker 1: your favorite like you don't know. It don't matter what
- 15:03Speaker 1: he said the minute to term my music hot, it's
- 15:07Speaker 1: the song that's driving it. He's not. He doesn't really
- 15:10Speaker 1: have to do much anymore today to make that performance
- 15:14Speaker 1: great because that song was already great. And even when
- 15:18Speaker 1: that song was out back in the days. Trust me,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I've seen jay Z a million times back in the days.
- 15:22Speaker 1: I ain't talking about your new fans who black album
- 15:25Speaker 1: went forward. I'm talking about from before reasonable doubt forward.
- 15:30Speaker 1: And there was a time where all he did was
- 15:32Speaker 1: point at you the whole time. That's all he did
- 15:37Speaker 1: is point at you. Why it's my phone like sounds
- 15:41Speaker 1: like it's loose, but you know what I'm saying. And
- 15:45Speaker 1: NADS would have a thousand dudes on stage and it
- 15:48Speaker 1: was kind of yelling and cuffing. I'm like both are
- 15:50Speaker 1: better performers, but nads can match jay Z and my
- 15:55Speaker 1: last pick, you know the goat LL cool J. He
- 16:03Speaker 1: got the catalog. He has it and expands decades in
- 16:09Speaker 1: decades where jay Z was out, in decades where jay
- 16:14Speaker 1: Z was not out as an artist. Get what I'm saying.
- 16:20Speaker 1: In jay Z's Heyday, LL got hits before jay Z
- 16:26Speaker 1: even got on. LL got hits. He has the stage presence.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Have you ever seen LL perform? He outperforms all the
- 16:36Speaker 1: guys I just mentioned because he comes from an error
- 16:40Speaker 1: where it's it's not just rapping, it's a lot of movement,
- 16:45Speaker 1: it's a lot of presentation. Those guys don't move the
- 16:49Speaker 1: way Jay the way LL moves because LL kind of
- 16:54Speaker 1: comes from a different error where they worked on that
- 16:58Speaker 1: nineties cats. It was just more about what they were
- 17:02Speaker 1: saying and the beats, and some of them had to
- 17:05Speaker 1: develop some level of stage presence, but most of theirs
- 17:10Speaker 1: is coming from what they say. You know, LL is
- 17:14Speaker 1: like spinning and probably got the one leg pants leg up.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But it's a show, you know what I'm saying. So
- 17:24Speaker 1: I don't agree with jay Z's comments from three to
- 17:27Speaker 1: four years ago, but I would love to see it.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I just don't think it would ever happen because if
- 17:34Speaker 1: it was to happen, as far as like hype and
- 17:40Speaker 1: selling an event, it has to be jay Z and
- 17:43Speaker 1: ours just because of the battle, just because of the errors.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It would be dope to see jay Z in ll
- 17:53Speaker 1: In some ways they kind of overlap with the type
- 17:56Speaker 1: of music, but because people just know jay Z versus
- 18:01Speaker 1: nas jay Z and nasay like eternally linked because of
- 18:05Speaker 1: a battle, that would be huge. I would watch. I
- 18:10Speaker 1: might go. Now I'm not going, but I might watch
- 18:14Speaker 1: for sure. So I don't know. Do you think is
- 18:19Speaker 1: jay Z untouchable in a versus name some people in
- 18:23Speaker 1: the comment section who you think could also compete on
- 18:26Speaker 1: those same levels of stamina and catalog and live performance
- 18:32Speaker 1: because some of us can come up with a few,
- 18:36Speaker 1: and the future says he got the catalog and stamina
- 18:39Speaker 1: and live performance also, so we'll see. And lastly, so
- 18:47Speaker 1: we've been following along with this massiveppeal what is it?
- 18:53Speaker 1: Seven Legends, seven icons release of albums, and so far
- 18:58Speaker 1: we got Slick Rick ray Kwon, ghost Face and then
- 19:06Speaker 1: mob Deep and so far it's been more good than bad.
- 19:12Speaker 1: To be honest, I don't think any of it's bad.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Slick Rick's project,
- 19:19Speaker 1: I understood what the mission was. I just didn't necessarily
- 19:23Speaker 1: like everything I heard. So it's the lowest on the
- 19:26Speaker 1: totem pole for me. But now on Halloween, which is today,
- 19:31Speaker 1: and if you're from the future, you've already had Halloween,
- 19:35Speaker 1: get your ass out of here, okay. But one thing
- 19:40Speaker 1: that was interesting to me is that we knew Big
- 19:45Speaker 1: L's album was on the way, and then it was
- 19:49Speaker 1: announced that was Halloween. And then we got a lead
- 19:51Speaker 1: single with nas what is it? You Ain't got a chance?
- 19:56Speaker 1: With a video that was like vintage, and I was
- 19:58Speaker 1: feeling the vibe. It was nostalgic. And then it's like Halloween,
- 20:05Speaker 1: this album is dropping and it's here. So, if you
- 20:08Speaker 1: know how I do reviews, I give three listens for
- 20:12Speaker 1: my reviews. The first listen is just my impressions. I
- 20:14Speaker 1: just let it rock, whatever happens happened. The second listen
- 20:20Speaker 1: is to like really listen intently, kind of figure out
- 20:24Speaker 1: what the intent of this project was, what they've done,
- 20:29Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, as far as production, concepts, bars, whatever.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And then The last listen is to confirm my thoughts
- 20:38Speaker 1: and for those who need quick reviews, I would say
- 20:41Speaker 1: this album from Big L is is that right? It's okay,
- 20:48Speaker 1: It's fine, That's what it is. So features on the
- 20:53Speaker 1: album would stare a lot include McGruff, nas, Errol Holding,
- 20:59Speaker 1: I have no idea. That is y'all method man, novel,
- 21:04Speaker 1: Mac Miller, jay Z which is that freestyle Joe Budden
- 21:09Speaker 1: talking I'm not rapping. I thought he was gonna be
- 21:12Speaker 1: rapping Joey badasses on his showbiz And I'm not gonna
- 21:18Speaker 1: name everybody. I just want I just want to say
- 21:19Speaker 1: this one party arty. You know, if you run a
- 21:23Speaker 1: nineties you know party arty, you know it, you know.
- 21:27Speaker 1: But it's sixteen tracks coming in around forty minutes and
- 21:36Speaker 1: what So what I feel about this album is I
- 21:40Speaker 1: feel like this is a continuation of the Big Picture.
- 21:45Speaker 1: So if you're looking for a Big L album like
- 21:49Speaker 1: his debut album, that's not what this is. This is
- 21:53Speaker 1: more like when he passed and they put out that album,
- 21:57Speaker 1: The Big Picture, which had features and some of his
- 22:02Speaker 1: freestyles were turned into songs and some of the freestyles
- 22:04Speaker 1: were available. Also. It's that so that should be your expectations. Now.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I know some people love the Big Picture, and the
- 22:15Speaker 1: thing is is this is a continuation. It's not a competitor.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It's a continuation of what was that And I think
- 22:24Speaker 1: that if you go into it haven't heard the Big Picture,
- 22:29Speaker 1: then you will understand what this album is. You can
- 22:33Speaker 1: grade it on that scale. And me doing that and
- 22:40Speaker 1: someone who grew up in the nineties listening to hip hop,
- 22:43Speaker 1: listening in the Big L in real time when he
- 22:45Speaker 1: was alive the stretch of barbdo freestyles like him emerging
- 22:52Speaker 1: from his contract, I guess with Columbia to start doing
- 22:57Speaker 1: all these dope freestyles and talking about and unfortunately he
- 23:01Speaker 1: was murdered. And then The Big Picture comes out, and
- 23:05Speaker 1: you know, songs like Ebonics on there and stuff like that,
- 23:09Speaker 1: like Big L was building to something because he was
- 23:13Speaker 1: always nice. So when you hear this album, it's just
- 23:16Speaker 1: a reminder and it's a trip down memory lane for
- 23:21Speaker 1: those of us who were around now. Some people may
- 23:24Speaker 1: be disappointed because they kind of wanted an album, but
- 23:29Speaker 1: the man has been gone for a long time and
- 23:35Speaker 1: this album is an indication of if there is an album,
- 23:40Speaker 1: Sony ain't releasing it, and if there isn't well, he
- 23:47Speaker 1: did a bunch of freestyles and had a couple of
- 23:49Speaker 1: starter verses here and there. Now I will say on
- 23:52Speaker 1: this album, the lead track, which I love, I think
- 23:56Speaker 1: is Dobe. Honestly, I like it better than the joint
- 23:59Speaker 1: when Nas Harlem Universal with McGruff. I really feel like
- 24:04Speaker 1: I heard that before. If you know where, leave your
- 24:09Speaker 1: comments in a comments section below, whether it appeared on
- 24:11Speaker 1: a mixtape or whatever. But I feel like I really
- 24:15Speaker 1: heard that before. And mcgruffy even says, you know when
- 24:18Speaker 1: it was recorded, and blah blah blah. But it's pretty
- 24:23Speaker 1: dope and I like to beat big L. Big L
- 24:27Speaker 1: don't miss on any of his verses, not one on
- 24:30Speaker 1: this project. So it's up to the features to meet
- 24:35Speaker 1: him at his level, and I think some of them do,
- 24:39Speaker 1: including McGruff One of the tracks that well, let me
- 24:43Speaker 1: say this first read. I mean method Man told the
- 24:47Speaker 1: story I think on Drink Champs about Big L selling
- 24:51Speaker 1: him what you go look that up. I ain't gonna
- 24:54Speaker 1: talk about it, but which was a crazy revelation. But
- 24:58Speaker 1: at the same time, Method Man's on his metha Man
- 25:00Speaker 1: bars are crazy, Okay, metha Man bars are Crazy on
- 25:04Speaker 1: here like it was perfect. It was a perfect combination
- 25:08Speaker 1: of these two together. But there was another Wait is
- 25:14Speaker 1: it going now? Hold up because I know I just
- 25:17Speaker 1: read it right, I read mac Miller. Oh there it
- 25:19Speaker 1: is a song called Forever featuring mac Miller. Now, I
- 25:24Speaker 1: know there are people felt like Yo L would have
- 25:27Speaker 1: never rocked with him. If Sean Price rocked with mac Miller,
- 25:32Speaker 1: you can't. You don't know. Maybe you knew him, but
- 25:37Speaker 1: somebody like Big L never had the chance to even
- 25:41Speaker 1: listen to a mac Miller because personality aside, he could
- 25:47Speaker 1: have respected him as an MC. Now I've said things
- 25:51Speaker 1: about mac Miller when he was alive, and maybe Big
- 25:55Speaker 1: L would have felt like me. But for whatever reason,
- 25:59Speaker 1: mac Miller's on here. And when I tell you, relax,
- 26:04Speaker 1: the song is dope and it fits. I never thought, like, damn,
- 26:10Speaker 1: why did they put him on? He don't sound like
- 26:11Speaker 1: he would be on here. Now there is one great
- 26:14Speaker 1: and I get it. I get if you look at
- 26:17Speaker 1: the mac Miller feature and be like nah. And it's
- 26:21Speaker 1: driven by the fact that where's O. C, D, I
- 26:29Speaker 1: T C. Show Business here? But where's OC? That's my thing?
- 26:33Speaker 1: Where's OC? Him? And Big L? Had a very good,
- 26:38Speaker 1: very tight relationship as MC's especially MC's a part of
- 26:43Speaker 1: the digging and the Crates crew. McGruff is here, but
- 26:48Speaker 1: that's the that's children what is it children of the
- 26:51Speaker 1: corn whatever with you know McGruff for those who don't
- 26:54Speaker 1: know McGruff, big L, Murder, Mace, cam and bloodshed. That
- 27:01Speaker 1: was dope to open like with that Children of the
- 27:04Speaker 1: Corn opening basically, but it's not enough. D I t
- 27:09Speaker 1: c here for me And if it's not law for
- 27:14Speaker 1: that's and I'm not saying law and that's want to
- 27:15Speaker 1: even write anything. But if it's not law for that's,
- 27:18Speaker 1: it gotta be oc like one of the two. But
- 27:21Speaker 1: all in all considering, there's some classic freestyles here, from
- 27:24Speaker 1: stretching barbto especially the seven minute joint feature in jay Z,
- 27:31Speaker 1: which is dope because you know, jay Z probably had
- 27:33Speaker 1: to clear that joint to be on here. It's dope
- 27:35Speaker 1: to hear that it's nice and cleaned up. You get
- 27:38Speaker 1: to hear when jay Z used to wrap like the
- 27:40Speaker 1: food snakings, don't try that. That first verse was fired,
- 27:44Speaker 1: but that second versus a bit of that, like Nick,
- 27:49Speaker 1: what are you saying? Jay? That's how we felt That's
- 27:52Speaker 1: how I felt back in the days. I was like,
- 27:54Speaker 1: get this garbage out of him. Uh. But overall, it's
- 27:59Speaker 1: a very good project, right, And don't think of it
- 28:04Speaker 1: like this because I know I read my demographics for
- 28:08Speaker 1: my show. My show has an older ardience, typically people
- 28:15Speaker 1: who are right under me and age and absolutely my
- 28:20Speaker 1: generation and above. We all kind of were around for
- 28:24Speaker 1: Big L. We all kind of were around for freestyles
- 28:28Speaker 1: on the mixtapes. We've probably heard between the Big Picture
- 28:33Speaker 1: in this album. We probably heard most of the stuff
- 28:35Speaker 1: before it was put into albums, So you're not really
- 28:39Speaker 1: going to impress us by repackaging it. But it's not
- 28:44Speaker 1: for you. It's not for me. It's for new fans.
- 28:48Speaker 1: It's for those who don't know who Big L is,
- 28:52Speaker 1: and not everybody who's a new hip hop head knows
- 28:55Speaker 1: who everyone is or know enough maybe that's ever been
- 29:00Speaker 1: in freestyles? Yo. I heard that on YouTube. I thought
- 29:03Speaker 1: it was ill, but I never really dove into Big
- 29:06Speaker 1: L's music. That's what this is for. That's what the
- 29:10Speaker 1: Big Picture is for. It's really like, Yo, this guy
- 29:13Speaker 1: was amazing his his work. Check it out. So with
- 29:17Speaker 1: that said, I think it's okay. Album it's okay. I
- 29:19Speaker 1: don't think it's the best of the year. I think
- 29:21Speaker 1: it's nice to have, but it's not one of my
- 29:27Speaker 1: top albums and a lot and then in a lot
- 29:30Speaker 1: of ways for the reasons I mentioned regarding my generation.
