- 1:02Well, let's go ahead and take a listen to today's episode of Yours Truly
- 1:06Johnny A Dollar and then afterwards a doctor Tam Detective. Here. Now is
- 1:11the Silver Blue Matter, Part five from Hollywood. It's time now for Johnny
- 1:19Diller. Are speaking Lieutenant Garcia's office. Johnny, You're the one I was
- 1:23trying to reach. This is Carla Monte Oh, I was going to phone
- 1:26you later. What's happening. Have they found idiot? Not yet, but
- 1:30the police picked up one of his friends, Mario Centaurres. Mario, I
- 1:34know him, but he's been to the apartment lots of times with he and
- 1:37on the robbery. Yes, he just made a statement admitting it. And
- 1:42what did he say about my brother? He says Eddie is the one who
- 1:46planned the whole thing. He must be lying. No, Garcia and I
- 1:49are pretty sure he's telling the truth. I'm sorry, Carly. I'm coming
- 1:53down to headquarters, Johnny. There's no use. There's nothing you can do
- 1:57here. At least I can be there when they bring him in or whatever
- 2:00happened. It won't help. You're better off at home now, Please.
- 2:02I raised you. Some of the fault must be mine. I can't desert
- 2:07him. I'm going to be there if he needs me, Okay, Kurla
- 2:19Tonight and every weekday Night Bob Bailey in the transcribed Adventures of the Man with
- 2:23the Action Packed Expenser Count America's Fabulous Freelance Insurance Investigator US Truly Johnny Dollar.
- 2:43From Special Investigator Johnny Dollar, location in Los Angeles, California to the home
- 2:47office Modo Guarantee Insurance Company, Hartford, Connecticut. Assignment the Silver Blowmatter expenser
- 2:53count final page one hundred thousand dollars worth of fur coat silver blue makes stolen
- 3:02in a warehouse robbery and still missing. A night watchman slugged during the robbery
- 3:07by one of the teenage gangs, still lying in a coma, unable to
- 3:10speak, and Red Weller, a man who tried to speak, lay in
- 3:14the County Morgue stabbed to death in a dark alley. But now one of
- 3:17the gang had been arrested, a seventeen year old named Mario Centaurres, and
- 3:22he'd finally talked. Sitting in Garcia's office, I read Mario's statement through for
- 3:27the second time. Well, what do you think, Johnny, I think
- 3:34the kid was telling the truth. Eddie Mordy scraped up enough money to buy
- 3:38that second hand panel truck and then talk to the other kids in the knocking
- 3:39over the warehouse. That ties in with what Eddie's sister said, But he
- 3:43kept the truck a secret, hadn't told her about it. And also the
- 3:46fact that Eddie seems to be a born leader type. They even mentioned it
- 3:49in one of his former records of arrest. Yeah, I think we can
- 3:52buy it that Eddie Monte is the leader of the gang. All right.
- 3:55They picked their knight. They kissed the place from Red Weller's lunch room across
- 3:59the street, and as soon as the prowl car passed, they made their
- 4:01move. They got the watchman, Albert Chrisman, to open the door by
- 4:04showing them a fake telegram through the window. That's another thing that checks out
- 4:08Mario's story. Johnny Mario claims he's the one who showed the telegram. That's
- 4:12right. Chrismin kept saying kid with a mark in his arm, and Mario's
- 4:15got a bad scar on his Leparis, That's what I mean. It checks
- 4:16out. Mario didn't know what Chrisman had told us, all right, so
- 4:19the gun inside and then, according to Mario's version, it was Eddie Mario
- 4:23slugged the watchman. Probably true. Then they jumped the other watchman in the
- 4:26dark and started hauling out the furs, loading them into the truck of Eddie's.
- 4:30They knew they had forty five minutes before the Prowl car came back through.
- 4:32By that time they'd finished and split up, Eddie driving their truck away
- 4:35alone and the others disappearing on foot. Yeah. I think that's about the
- 4:39size of it. And I think Mario's telling the truth when he says neither
- 4:42he nor any of the others know Eddie planned to hide out the truck and
- 4:46Red Weller according to Mario, was murdered by another gang member. What was
- 4:49his name, Chuye Morrell. If that's true, Eddie Mardy is at least
- 4:53clean on the murder charge. If it's true, all you can tag him
- 4:56on is robbery and assault on that watchman, I'm kind of glad to be
- 5:00Johnny. I feel sorry for that sister, is so do I. She's
- 5:03a good kid, and she's carrying a real load of guilt. Thinks that
- 5:08she's responsible in someone. Oh she was only nineteen herself when their folks died.
- 5:12How could she be expected to hold him in line? And especially in
- 5:15that district. She's on her way down here by the way. Yeah,
- 5:18I tried to talk her out of it. Oh maybe she's as well off
- 5:23hanging around here, though, as she is waiting alone in that apartment,
- 5:26it's a rough deal for her, No mather where she waits. Well,
- 5:28at least we can tell her her brother's not in quite as deep as we
- 5:30can. Excuse me, sure got to see us speaking good. Who's the
- 5:36other one? Yeah? Bring the money in and book them. I'll talk
- 5:40to them later, and now we what when? All right? Keep in
- 5:47touch with me. The boys just picked up Chewie Morrell and the other two.
- 5:54It leaves us one to go. Yeah, the big one, Eddie
- 5:57Monte. He's even bigger now, Johnny, what do you mean that watchman?
- 6:02Eddie slugged Albert Chrisman. What about him? He just died. So
- 6:11it was a different thing. We had to tell Carla when she arrived at
- 6:13headquarters, not that her brother would probably get off on a lesser charge,
- 6:17but instead that an APB was out, that every officer in town had been
- 6:21worn. Be on the lookout for Eddy Maddy, aged nineteen, armed and
- 6:25dangerous, wanted for murder. Expenser con Adam fifteen twelve dollars and fifty cents
- 6:34rant on a higher car. One of Garcia's boys was certain that the background
- 6:39appearing in the photograph of Eddie's truck was somewhere in his district, but he
- 6:41couldn't tag the exact spot. So I decided to cruise that area street by
- 6:45street. Karla Manti Edy Sistant went along with me. There's an alley off
- 6:54to the right, Johnny, it might be worth a look. Yeah,
- 6:57it runs back toward a lumberyard there. That could be a lumber yard in
- 7:00the background of that photograph. Well, we'll give it a try. This
- 7:09isn't it, Johnny Sally makes a right angle turn there before it even gets
- 7:13to the lumberyard. Oh, he may as well check it on through.
- 7:15It seems to run clear on down to the railroad yards. Please let us
- 7:17find him. If it's the police, he'll fight and he'll kill someone else,
- 7:23be killed himself. It's out of your hands now, Carl. It's
- 7:26gotta work itself out in its own way. There's nothing much anybody can do
- 7:30to stop it or change it. I know, Johnny, I keep trying
- 7:32to fool myself all the time. I know. Well, all you can
- 7:36do is hold Look that pens ahead of us there next to the railroad yards,
- 7:42and it could be the fens in these pictures looks the same. And
- 7:45that storage shit, they're they're right, that's one of the shots. And
- 7:47that pile of oil drums. This is it, Carla. This is where
- 7:50those films were taken. The truck was parked right at the corner of that
- 7:55shed. Well, it looks as though that off chance paid off. Scared,
- 8:00Johnny, now that it's so close, I'm scared. Don't be my
- 8:03off chance. I meant just finding that place you may not have come back
- 8:07here since the day those pictures were taken. You don't believe that, and
- 8:09you know it well, Carla. That house back of the corner has a
- 8:13phone. There's a wire running in for the pole. Go back there and
- 8:16use it to call Lieutenant Garcia. Give them the location and tell them to
- 8:18hit the radio and have this whole area blocked off. Got it, Yes,
- 8:20Tell them to cover the railroad yard too, sew up this whole section
- 8:22tight, and tell him to make it fast. Johnny. Yeah, Eddie
- 8:26may be watching us from around here, somewhere right this minute. I waited
- 8:33until she'd gone. Then I got out of the car and walked toward the
- 8:35shed and the sagging wooden fence that bordered the railroad yards. It was nearly
- 8:41dark now. The high floodlights had been turned on about the crisscross network of
- 8:45bleaming steel tracks. Shadows play tricks at such a time of evening, and
- 8:48I got sudden movements now and then from the corner of my eyes. But
- 8:52yet nothing really moved, and the only sound was the sound of my own
- 8:56footsteps. I stopped several times and stood watching and listening, but nothing moved.
- 9:03There was only silence. I reached the door of the long wooden shed
- 9:07and found it pad locked. Looking in through a broken window, I could
- 9:11see the lock didn't matter. The shed was empty and long abandoned. Between
- 9:15it and the fence was a drive leading toward the rear and behind the shed,
- 9:18in a loading area. I found it. He struck and in the
- 9:22back of it was one hundred thousand dollars worth of first All right, dollar,
- 9:28gets your hands up, had a you're in a rut. That's the
- 9:33first thing you said to me the last time we met. I got I
- 9:35killed you there, and that a part of it isn't one killing enough.
- 9:39I don't suppose you know it. But Albert Chrismin died this afternoon. I
- 9:43know. I got a radio in the truck there. That's where you've been
- 9:46hiding out all the time. Look, if I want to answer questions,
- 9:50I go turn myself in. You may be better off for the long run
- 9:52if you do get you here alone. No, No, your sister's wouldn't.
- 9:56Oh what does she want to do? W me get it? Why
- 10:00don't you give me that gun? Eddie. It's only a matter of time.
- 10:03You know that you don't have a chance I think I got a pretty
- 10:07good chance right here, in my chance at what to break Carla's heart,
- 10:11smash her into the dirt killer? Maybe? What more do you want to
- 10:13do to her before you're through? I'm not planning to be through. Oh
- 10:16that's great. The police are doing some planning of their own. They gotta
- 10:20find me first. I found you, didn't I and I gotta kill you
- 10:24right where you're standing? Is that all you gotta think about, Eddie?
- 10:28To kill somebody and go on killing until one of them kills you. Let
- 10:31me think. Think about carl If you want to think about something, Think
- 10:35about the things she's done for you, The years she's worked for you,
- 10:37worried about you. That dame was born to worry. Nobody's born to worry.
- 10:43They inherit, worries like you were inherited by her. I didn't ask
- 10:48her to do it. Life didn't give her any choice. But it's too
- 10:50late now to talk about that. It's all over ready, This is the
- 10:54wind up. Come on, I'll give yourself up. You haven't got a
- 10:56chance. Oh and I would have if I gave myself up. Don't you
- 11:01hand me that stuff. The police have got this whole section surrounded. Carlo
- 11:03went to call him twenty minutes ago. I don't you were trying to hand
- 11:07me. Keep you my shirt, Eddie. You don't have a chance.
- 11:11Be careful, Eddie's here. I hit the dirt and rolled under the truck
- 11:16and came up on the other side with my gun in my hand. I
- 11:18could hear Eddie running away, but I couldn't tell where he was. Good.
- 11:22Yeah, I'm all right. Eddie went over the fence into the yards
- 11:24here the corner of the shed. Come on, let's go after him.
- 11:28He can't get through. I've got men working this way from the other side.
- 11:31Tyler back this. I'm where. Come on, we can get through
- 11:33the fence here, Carlo, stay where we are. Don't follow us there,
- 11:35he goes, Johnny, find that lineup freight, all right? Come
- 11:37on, he can't get too far that way. There's a train coming there,
- 11:41he goes. He's gonna try to beat it. The crazy Come on,
- 12:05I don't know, Johnny. There must be better ways today. Expense
- 12:13account Adam sixteen three hundred dollars and sixty cents. Hotel of miscellaneous and Los
- 12:18Angeles and transportation back to Hartford. Expense account total five hundred and forty dollars
- 12:22and twenty five cents end of account and of report remarks, Well, I
- 12:28guess Carla made the remarks for me. I don't know, Johnny. Those
- 12:35eighty fur coats they'll go back into stock now and they'll be sold to women
- 12:39who wear them to parties and dances nightclubs, and they'll be happy in them,
- 12:46and they'll never know about eighty or about me or what happened here tonight,
- 12:54Yours truly, Johnny Dellen. Now here's our star to tell you about
- 13:11next week's intriguing story. Next week the matter of the medium well done,
- 13:16and a seance is too that I think you'll like Join us, won't you?
- 13:20Yous truly, Shannie Dollar, Yours truly, Johnny Dollar is starring Bob
- 13:43Bailey, is transcribed in Hollywood, written by Les Crutchfield. It is produced
- 13:48and directed by Jack Johnstone. Heard in this week's cast where Lucille Meredith,
- 13:54Edgar Barrier, Victor Perrin, Jack Krushan, Tommy Cook and Richard Crenna.
- 14:00Musical supervision by Amarigo Marino. Be sure to join us on Monday night,
- 14:05same time and station, or another exciting story of yours truly Johnny Dollar,
- 14:11Roy Rowan speaking welcome back. This was I thought very well put together from
- 15:54a drama standpoint. Really you feel for the stir in the story, and
- 16:00I think it was a great job of writing, even when you're dealing with
- 16:04the teenage boy who the way he acted his own character made him not really
- 16:12sympathetic, but you cared what happened because of the sister though. Just a
- 16:18fantastic performances all around in this particular episode, very well done. A big
- 16:25note here is the yours truly Johnny Dollar. First appearance here of Richard Krinna,
- 16:33who up to this point in his career he's claimed to fame, was
- 16:37playing the role of Walter Denton on ar Miss Brooks. Denton was a character
- 16:45somewhat squeaky voice, really done a great comic effect. He began on the
- 16:52series in nineteen forty eight and continued to nineteen fifty five playing this high school
- 17:03sophomore which wasn't you know, which wasn't bad for radio. He was able
- 17:06to make it work for radio, however. He also appeared in the television
- 17:10version, and towards the end of the television version he was twenty nine years
- 17:15old. And obviously twenty nine, and he didn't carry off the whole behy
- 17:22in his twenties and thirties playing a teenager as well as Dick Ward did in
- 17:26Batman. As I said, this was his first appearance of Yours Truly Johnny
- 17:30Dollar. He makes several more appearances in the course of the serial run,
- 17:36and actually continues to appear on the single episodes. His last appearance on Yours
- 17:41Truly Johnny Dollar is on October twenty third of nineteen sixty, so just before
- 17:49the show was moved to New York. His acting career would get beyond ar
- 17:56Miss Brooks. He would land the lead role in the Real McCoy's and would
- 18:07get to get an Emmy nomination in nineteen fifty nine. And his other role
- 18:12that he is very well known for, Richard Crenna is the role of Trautman
- 18:21in the first three Rambo movies. So from Old Time Radio and Armist Brooks
- 18:27Trambo. All right, well, now it's time for Doctor Tim Detective.
- 18:33I should let you know that while Johnny Doller, we'll be back on Monday,
- 18:37we'll hear Bob Bailey in our eleven hundredth episode special on Sunday, and
- 18:42I'll tell you more about that. He plays the secondary character, but still
- 18:48an important role. Now it's time for the Man from Hiroshima on Doctor Tim
- 18:52Detective. This is Doctor Tim Detective to bring you, by transcription, the
- 19:00Mystery of the Man from Hiroshima. Even doctors have to do their spring house
- 19:10cleaning once a year, and on this particular day, my laboratory I looked
- 19:14as if a cyclonet hit it. I'd invested the aid of Sandy and Jill,
- 19:18my two best friends and helpers, and hired a man to wash the
- 19:21walls and woodwork and do some painting. It wasn't until we were in the
- 19:23middle of the job that I remembered that I'd promised to get those X ray
- 19:27pictures out by the next day. They are going to be pretty important in
- 19:30a murder trial at which I was testifying, and my good friend, the
- 19:33district attorney, wanted to go over the pictures with me at the earliest moment.
- 19:37Ordinarily, I would have developed them at once, but an emergency case
- 19:41prevented me. As I was scrambling in the litter of house cleaning, trying
- 19:45to remember where I had put the film. Mister Tagawa the man who was
- 19:48helping us stopped to light a cigarette. Did you a ki? Yeah?
- 19:53You wouldn't remember where you put that package of exposed X ray film, would
- 19:56you? I think I know word is good Jill. If you'd like to
- 20:00take a few minutes off from your drudgery and help me in the dark room,
- 20:03the job's yours, yep, if I can find them in this confounded
- 20:08mess, at least the ones you wanted. And let's see Sandy. No,
- 20:12no, this is a new package hasn't been opened. I think this
- 20:15is perhaps what you look for. Doctor. I have, with much carelessness
- 20:21put my quote on top of it when I start to work. Oh thanks,
- 20:25mister Tagawa. You know most people wouldn't even know what a package of
- 20:27X ray film looked like before in Japan, I have done many tasks in
- 20:33scientific laboratory in Great scott Man. Sure you don't have to do this sort
- 20:37of work for a living? He no, doctor, can't you get your
- 20:41job? I am very grateful, but I have not been well, and
- 20:45also I have run into much prejudice because of my unfortunate nationality. Could you
- 20:52I thought you were in an American and told you in the war that is
- 20:55quite correct, Miss Jill, I was an American intellegence officer and capture as
- 21:00a prisoner by the Japanese as serve eighteen months as prisoner in Japan. You
- 21:07have excuse please, I have upart finished cleaning wall, and must I pint
- 21:11to start on woodwork tomorrow? Yes, taking jail with me, I waved
- 21:15goodbye to mister Tagawa and disappeared into the dark room, not even realizing that
- 21:19clutched in my hand in a thin cardboard box was the beginning of one of
- 21:25the most baffling mysteries in my career as doctor and detective. About an hour
- 21:33later, Sandy Jill and I stood dumbfounded before a rack on my laboratory bench,
- 21:37upon which were spread the developed X ray pictures. There's absolutely nothing alone
- 21:44do you suppose could have happened? Oh? The dark con might look as
- 21:48if they'd been light struck. I guess, well, I must have been
- 21:52careless or else. The X ray machine is out of order, but it
- 21:55couldn't be. Dachi kimp. Can't you remove these pictures? Would you?
- 21:57Yesterday? Afterday they were I'm sure if they'd forgot that they were, that's
- 22:03a mystery to me. What did you have to do? Take them over?
- 22:06I guess I'd better get the da boy, that's your beats everything.
- 22:15By working most of the night, I managed to get the X rays taken
- 22:18again, and I developed about half of them before I had to give up
- 22:22and go to sleep. I was awakened early the next morning by the arrival
- 22:26of mister Gawa, who started laying out his painting equipment, and by the
- 22:30entrance of Sandy and Jill, ready to start the day's work. I dressed
- 22:34quickly enjoyed. Okay they were Jill, at least the ones I developed last
- 22:40night. Wonder what could have happened? And it beats me, Sandy,
- 22:42We'll soon know about the rest. Where did I jack? Jill? I
- 22:48take the darkroom? No, just hang on them minute. Oh yeah,
- 22:53yeah, that looks okay to me. I met Doka or life. You
- 22:56like? Oh? I like that, mister de Gawa. Let's swallow me.
- 23:00Yeah, let me hold wood sample against light color. You'll give me
- 23:03a box of film a minute, Yes, says nice. I seen.
- 23:08He held the box against his chest and stepped back for us to see well.
- 23:12When I walked out of the dark room A short time later, I
- 23:15tried to keep from swearing where the kids could hear me. The last half
- 23:19of those pictures were fogged again, completely ruined, as if by light.
- 23:23As Sandy, Jill and I sat over breakfast at the drug store in the
- 23:26corner, you were a puzzling through. I don't suppose I could send something
- 23:30wrong to you. No, of course not. I was working in there
- 23:33with you all the times. You know, well, you didn't expose them
- 23:36to any light, and you checked the eSTREAM machine. Is there anything besides
- 23:40light? It was coiled. No, Well, there's nothing that could possibly
- 23:44be in the land of the room. What do you mean. Of course,
- 23:47film can be spoiled if it's exposed radium. But I've never had radium
- 23:51or any radium product in the lab. I don't get it. Not radium,
- 23:53I mean, well, radium gives off light, Sandy invisible light.
- 23:57I mean it's invisible to us, but it's there, all right. So
- 24:00the weather, atomic products things they're making it places like oak rid, the
- 24:04atom bond tact It's much more than that, Jell. Atomic scientists are working
- 24:10for medicine too. You know how radium is used in stopping the growth of
- 24:14cancer in the human body. Sure, well, certain other chemicals are made
- 24:17radioactive too. They're used just like tracer bullets from a machine gun. How
- 24:22we'll take iodin for instance, there's a certain important gland in the body that's
- 24:26called the thyroid gland. Well, iodin taken into the body sooner or later
- 24:30goes to the thyroid. So doctors these days are using iodin, which has
- 24:34been made radioactive, to study what actually happens to it in the body,
- 24:38especially in the thyroid. Glassy stick as radium products give us that invisible light.
- 24:42Why you can take a trade pictures of the id and at work in
- 24:45This is exactly doesn't radium kill you two months does sandy? And too much
- 24:52means of peace less than the size of a grain of salt. But doctors
- 24:56use it for brief periods just like X rayicure people. Now, let's get
- 25:00back to those spoiled pictures. Hey, you're sure you haven't got some of
- 25:03that stuff round in the land. Can you've forgotten about it? Now?
- 25:07Look? Kids, Well there was a thought, and it was a thought,
- 25:12not that I'd had any radioactive material around or it's the most dangerous stuff
- 25:18in the world when handled carelessly, But I remembered a case or two i'd
- 25:21read about. That's so long ago, thousands of rolls of unused film had
- 25:25been spoiled because the containers they came in had been made of contaminated material.
- 25:30That's the word scientists used to describe any substance which has been exposed to the
- 25:33deadly rays of atomic products. And there was the famous case years ago of
- 25:37the workers in a clock factory which manufactured those clocks and watches with luminous dials
- 25:42that blow in the dark. Because they moistened the tiny brushes with their tongues.
- 25:48Some of them died of radium poisoning. So it wasn't so far fetched
- 25:52after all that something in that laboratory might be radioactive enough to spoil the X
- 25:57ray film. Anytime I had to take half those pictures over again, I
- 26:04sighed and started back to work. Mister Tagawa had gone when we got back,
- 26:15as it was Saturday, and he worked only half a day. Wearily,
- 26:19I called my patients back and retook the pictures, and this time they
- 26:23were all right, as sharp and clean and unfogged as you could ask for.
- 26:27Here was a mystery with a vengeance. It was Jill who made a
- 26:32bright suggestion as we finished traget him anything way you and Jill a sentence here
- 26:37that shouldn't be like radium or something? Well, yes there is. We
- 26:41could use a Geiger counter, sure, I've read about those. They used
- 26:45them in the out of bomb test. They go beat deefeet. If there's
- 26:47anything around it's radioactive. What do you say about the paint and the clock
- 26:49factory. Maybe mister Tagawa's paint got radioactive. It's not likely. But no,
- 26:56no, that wouldn't work. It's those first him or so before you
- 27:00lots of things. Oh gosh, why don't we get one of those Giger
- 27:03tars? Sandy, I believe you have the answer. I'll call the physics
- 27:07laboratory out at the university and we'll go to work. I don't think we'll
- 27:11find anything, but it's worth a try. On Sunday we spent three hours
- 27:23going over the laboratory for traces of radiation. There were none, except when
- 27:29I showed Sandy and Jill how the Geiger counter worked. I turned on my
- 27:32X ray and pointed the machine toward it. The counter began to click away
- 27:37like the man. Well, I'll be done. I get it as act.
- 27:40If you quips some more dangerous to radiation. Huh, Yes, but
- 27:44there's not a trace of anything in the whole room that could have caused those
- 27:47films to be exposed. It's done, bad batch, I guess looks that
- 27:52way. I'm least what's that, Jim? Well, well, you said
- 27:57people, because you radioactive too? Would? My jaw dropped open as I
- 28:03had a sudden thought, as clear as day. Now, hold on,
- 28:06I told myself, let me think. My handyman and painter had given me
- 28:10the box with the first spoiled films himself, after his coat had lain on
- 28:14them. Yes, I was right. When I took the pictures over,
- 28:17I'd developed half of them that night. No one but myself had touched them.
- 28:22But the next morning the pink sample. Togawa had held a strip of
- 28:23wood in the box that held the remainder of the film against his clothes.
- 28:27The idea was fantastic. I was joked out of my reverie by someone at
- 28:32the door. Why not, Baza, I'd like to see a paint dry?
- 28:40Okay, mister Tigawa, would you help us with an experiment? I
- 28:45glad give assistance. Sandy, will you hand me the Geiger counter? Thanks?
- 28:49Ah, Fattis equipment. I'm much familiar with. I am glad of
- 28:55that mister Tigawa because if you do have radium poisoning, I won't have to
- 29:00tell you what it means. Gosh, you don't mean why that mister Chigawa
- 29:06is clothes, but if his clothes are contaminated, there's a chance that he
- 29:10too. I I'm much afraid of that doctor. For a long time,
- 29:21I not feel well, look pale. How did you guess the film you
- 29:26held against your coat? It was spoiled? I sorry, Please, good
- 29:30lord man, You've nothing to be sorry for. I only wish that we,
- 29:33we doctors, could I understand no cure is That's what I work on
- 29:37in Japan. I see what happened for so many. It's very funny.
- 29:42Is that I too should have why anything? When I prisoner, MISSI you'll
- 29:48I take to Hiroshima, Hiroshima, Holy jee. When Obama was drossed,
- 29:53no, I said after the Japanese I know I am laboratory technical. Yes,
- 30:00I still a prisoner, but I work. I work with old doctors
- 30:04to find out what have happened, what can be done for also people.
- 30:08Naturally, you handled a lot of contaminated material. Yes, and I think
- 30:14we're going to die. How you know this, doctor, Well, it
- 30:18takes months, sometimes years for the effects to show up. But your clothes
- 30:22gave me the clue. You wore them at that time. Yes, these
- 30:26all clothes been in my foot locker, you know, takhomic trunk since I
- 30:32come back from Japan, till a few days ago. I'm very sad.
- 30:37Said something so good, the little trace or bullets of your doctors, the
- 30:41radium for the cancer, the marvelous pictures the inside of the patia are very
- 30:47sad. It also be so bad, I mean the bomb. Well,
- 30:52gee, it won't always be that way. You test me now, doctor,
- 30:56Yes, bread out now silently. I held the Countess, so we
- 31:02breathed upon it. There were a few faint clicks. Oh that's you him.
- 31:11Can't you do something for mister Cadowa anything. Oh it isn't fair,
- 31:18No, Jill, not a thing as yet by the time you and Sandy
- 31:22had grown up. Maybe that's up to you what you want to do with
- 31:26this power we own, good or evil. Yes, you'll be the ones.
- 31:34I think I'll go now. I guess this is great shock. Although
- 31:40I suspect before I take the pink to Morrow, Many Puppy London, and
- 32:00so we close my casebook on the Mystery of the Man from Hiroshima. The
- 32:05last program of this first series, this is Doctor Tim Detective saying so long
- 32:09for now. The series was written and directed by Jack where Lewis and produced
- 32:15and transcribed by the Monarch Program Library incorporated welcome back. Well between the end
- 33:08of the Silver Blue Matter and what happened to poor mister Tagawa, I'm not
- 33:13doing so well on the happy endings fronts. I kept trying to figure out
- 33:17what sort of murder case Doctor Tim could be involved in that would involve X
- 33:22raying a patient repeatedly. It probably would have made more sense as the civil
- 33:30case. But to be there, kids, kid readers didn't overthink it,
- 33:34and I think, of course there was the obvious much larger message for questions
- 33:38raise about how new killer energy would be used. This episode released in nineteen
- 33:47forty eight, very close to the dropping of the bomb, where these questions
- 33:53really on people's minds. A lot of radio programs, a lot of radio
- 33:59miniseries made dealing with what you would mean live in the atomic age. But
- 34:07that does conclude Doctor Tim Detective I don't know if there was ever a second
- 34:12series made, but I don't believe so. And that's all we have for
- 34:15this current series. We will actually resume the Carter Brown Mysteries. Carter Brown
- 34:23will return on next Friday and Monday, we'll be bringing you yours truly Johnny
- 34:30Dollar. And Saturday, i'll let you know a little bit about our eleven
- 34:32hundredth episode special The Star the Show, and be sure and listen to that
- 34:37on Sunday tomorrow. It's the lineup. Send your comments to Box thirteen at
