  Speaker 1: number 36. I'm calling this one Not Devo. Of this world.

  Speaker 1: That's right. We are not of this world. We are
• 0:36
  Speaker 1: in this world, but we're not of this world. And
• 0:39
  Speaker 1: Jesus made an amazing statement of his truthfulness, of his deity,
• 0:47
  Speaker 1: of his authority, and of his kingdom. Tremendous statement. We're
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: going to read that. Amen. Quoting from the Lord Jesus
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: himself in John chapter 18, verse number 36. But we're
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: going to pray first. If this is your first time

  Speaker 1: are influenced by the devil that we come to you

  Speaker 1: Lord God and ask you for protection against those things

  Speaker 1: and that we could share this message of truth and

  Speaker 1: love that we could share this message of your power

  Speaker 1: your authority to the masses so that way one day

  Speaker 1: they will turn from their wickedness repent and turn to
• 3:17
  Speaker 1: you Lord Jesus so we could really really bankrupt hell

  Speaker 1: and occupy heaven In Jesus' holy name, I praise by

  Speaker 1: faith and all those who agree, we say amen to

  Speaker 1: the amen. So let's go for it. We got some
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: scripture today. Of course, amen. We're going to get into it.

  Speaker 1: John 18 verse number 36. Let's read it together. This
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: is the Lord Jesus. He's answering a question and Jesus
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: answered it this way. So to get the greater context,
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: of course, you have to read John 18, the whole chapter. Amen.

  Speaker 1: Let me see, make sure the radio's up and running.

  Speaker 1: One of those live things that I have to just check. Yeah,

  Speaker 1: we're good here too. Yep, all right. So Jesus answered,
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: my kingdom is not of this world. If it were,
• 4:17
  Speaker 1: my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews.
• 4:23
  Speaker 1: But now my kingdom is not of this realm. In
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: other words, my kingdom is not of this world. And
• 4:33
  Speaker 1: Jesus is basically letting people know, listen, if I was
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: a worldly king, I got my troops and we would
• 4:40
  Speaker 1: have been fighting, right? In today's vernacular, we've been scrapping.
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: My servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews.
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: But we know, or if you don't know, I'll let
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: you know that this was part of prophecy fulfilled. Jesus
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: was handed over to his enemy, right? And although Peter,
• 5:03
  Speaker 1: one of the disciples of Jesus, he ripped out a knife,
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: a sword, and chopped off an ear of somebody who
• 5:11
  Speaker 1: was trying to step to Jesus. But Jesus said, nah,
• 5:14
  Speaker 1: back down. It's all good. This is supposed to happen.
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: You know, put your sword down, he said. But if
• 5:20
  Speaker 1: you want to get this all in context, because this
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: is amazing. That Jesus says, listen, if it was up
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: to us or up to me as a worldly king,
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: this would have not been so easy. I would have
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: not willfully handed myself over to these people. Because remember,
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: Jesus chose to die for us. Jesus chose to go
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: to that cross. Because at any moment, he could have
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: called a legion of angels and he would have been
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: done with it all. But because he was on a mission, right?
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: The father sent Jesus on a mission, on a rescue mission,
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: as a matter of fact, to rescue who? You and me.
• 6:03
  Speaker 1: That's what he came to rescue in all actuality. But
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: God is faithful to his word. So he did what
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: was prophesied of what he would do. So although if
• 6:15
  Speaker 1: they were thinking he was an earthly king and they
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: did ask him, that's why you got to read the
• 6:19
  Speaker 1: whole chapter John 18 they did ask him so you
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: are a king so you're saying you're a king Jesus
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: would say are you saying that on your own or
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: somebody told you I was a king right because Jesus
• 6:30
  Speaker 1: was about that life man I know a lot of
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: people say oh Jesus was soft he was passive no
• 6:35
  Speaker 1: Jesus would confront answer questions boldly and show his authority
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: over the question and the questioner so but he was
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: humble as well as a servant of the father Amen.
• 6:50
  Speaker 1: And he was on a rescue mission and nothing or
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: no one was going to get him away from that mission.
• 6:55
  Speaker 1: Stop him. No one was going to stop him. Amen.
• 6:58
  Speaker 1: And Jesus being God made in the flesh, like he
• 7:02
  Speaker 1: made himself in the form of a man. He wasn't
• 7:05
  Speaker 1: created because God is the creator. Jesus was there at creation. Right.
• 7:11
  Speaker 1: But he humbled himself to become like us, a form
• 7:15
  Speaker 1: of a man. Jesus came. So we have to get
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: that in our heads. I know a lot of religious
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: people say, well, Jesus was created, the firstborn of all creation.
• 7:23
  Speaker 1: You see, it's right there. Not understanding what that means.
• 7:26
  Speaker 1: I don't have enough time to get into that. But
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: Jesus is God. He claimed it. He spoke it. The
• 7:33
  Speaker 1: Jews knew exactly what Jesus was claiming. That's why they
• 7:37
  Speaker 1: asked him to be crucified. There's a lot to say there.
• 7:41
  Speaker 1: So Jesus stood before Pilate, one of the rulers in
• 7:45
  Speaker 1: Rome at the time, right? Surrounded by a world focused
• 7:48
  Speaker 1: on power, right? Politics, control, and kingdom. Sounds familiar? Sounds
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: like the world we're living in now, right? Yet Jesus
• 7:59
  Speaker 1: made something very clear. Make no mistake. His kingdom operates
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: by a different authority. Our kingdom, the kingdom of God,
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: operates out of a different authority. by a different authority.
• 8:17
  Speaker 1: We're not going to be out there disrespecting, looting, causing trouble.
• 8:24
  Speaker 1: You're not going to see Christian crowds out there, or
• 8:28
  Speaker 1: you shouldn't be seeing Christian crowds out there, violating other
• 8:32
  Speaker 1: people's property, damaging, and having riots and all that stuff. No,
• 8:37
  Speaker 1: we're going to respect the authority of this world, of
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: this land, right? But our ultimate authority comes from the
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: King of Kings, And the Lord of Lords, the Lord
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: Jesus Christ, right? We move different. Actually, our authority is
• 8:53
  Speaker 1: different than the world's authority. So as followers of the
• 8:56
  Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ, what do you think that means for us?
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: We live in this world, right? But we don't belong
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: to its values. We don't belong to the world value system. No,
• 9:07
  Speaker 1: we don't. That's why people don't like us. They hate us.
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: They say, why do you Christians think you're X, Y, Z? Well,
• 9:14
  Speaker 1: because we follow a king that is not of this world. And,
• 9:19
  Speaker 1: you know, if we have a president in the United States,
• 9:24
  Speaker 1: although he has authority, but he doesn't have all authority, right?
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: Jesus has all authority, but we have to be humble
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: about that because a lot of people, they don't agree.
• 9:34
  Speaker 1: And because a lot of people don't agree, a lot
• 9:37
  Speaker 1: of people say this is not true because they're agreeing
• 9:40
  Speaker 1: that it's not true. or they have the popular votes,
• 9:43
  Speaker 1: or they have the popularity on social media, or they
• 9:46
  Speaker 1: have millions of followers saying the same thing, as if
• 9:50
  Speaker 1: the number of people, right, overrides the person of Jesus.
• 9:55
  Speaker 1: It doesn't. You could have 10 billion people saying that
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: Jesus is not God and Jesus shows up to be
• 10:02
  Speaker 1: God regardless. So that's not the case. The world tells
• 10:06
  Speaker 1: us that success is about money. Success is about status.
• 10:11
  Speaker 1: Success is about popularity, influence, or power. Jesus steps on
• 10:19
  Speaker 1: the scene and reminds us that his kingdom is about truth, righteousness, love, obedience,
• 10:29
  Speaker 1: and eternal life. We learned that Jesus is eternal life
• 10:33
  Speaker 1: by the time we were together. So Jesus knows the system.
• 10:38
  Speaker 1: He sees the hearts of the people of this world system.
• 10:42
  Speaker 1: And he's like, make no mistake. I am the king
• 10:46
  Speaker 1: of kings and lord of lords. Make no mistake. my
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: kingdom is not of this world. If it was of
• 10:51
  Speaker 1: this world, then when that whole situation happened with Judas
• 10:55
  Speaker 1: betraying Jesus and the people coming around Jesus to arrest him,
• 10:59
  Speaker 1: he said, if I was the king of this world,
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: my servants, we would have fought this out. Then if
• 11:05
  Speaker 1: you want to take it above that, which he does
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: take it above that, Jesus literally says, if I wanted to,
• 11:11
  Speaker 1: I could have stopped this all. I would have called
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: down a legion of angels. This would have been done with.
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: But he humbled himself. He was the servant that humbled himself, right?
• 11:21
  Speaker 1: The humble servant of the God, of God the Father, right?
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: And we're humble servants of the King. So it's about truth, righteousness, love, obedience,
• 11:34
  Speaker 1: and eternal life over here in the kingdom of God.
• 11:36
  Speaker 1: The kingdom of this world is all about give me
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: everything I need, get all you can, can all you get, influence, popularity, power, money, sex, drugs, alcohol,
• 11:48
  Speaker 1: all the stuff that the flesh were really indulging. The
• 11:52
  Speaker 1: flesh is all about that life. But when you're walking
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: in the spirit, all of that is foul. It's foul
• 11:58
  Speaker 1: to begin with, but it's more foul when you're walking
• 12:00
  Speaker 1: in the spirit and your eyes are open and your
• 12:03
  Speaker 1: ears are open and you're realizing, yeah, that's not for us.
• 12:06
  Speaker 1: That's not for me. I'm part of the kingdom of God.
• 12:09
  Speaker 1: You are too, if you're born again. So being out
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: of this world doesn't mean like we're We're out of
• 12:18
  Speaker 1: space or something like that. Nowhere in this world. Like,
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: make no mistake, we're here. A lot of people say
• 12:24
  Speaker 1: this is just an illusion, a dream, a false reality.
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: But no, this is reality. We are here, right? We
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: are really living. We're breathing. We're speaking, communicating. Some people
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: have a relationship with God. Other people don't have a
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: relationship with God. This is real time. This is real.
• 12:40
  Speaker 1: And a lot of people say this is just a dream,
• 12:42
  Speaker 1: another reality, a multiverse. No, this is planet Earth. And
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: we're here. So being out of this world doesn't mean
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: we run away from the world, right? It means we
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: don't allow the world to determine who we are, right?
• 13:02
  Speaker 1: We don't allow the world system to identify us as
• 13:06
  Speaker 1: who the world system identifies us. We are part of
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: the body of Christ and we are in the kingdom mindset,
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: not in the world mindset anymore. Although people say, ah,
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: it's the same thing. No, it's not the same thing.
• 13:18
  Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? The kingdom of darkness and the
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: kingdom of light, opposite. The kingdom of this world and
• 13:23
  Speaker 1: the kingdom of God, opposite, right? The kingdom of life
• 13:26
  Speaker 1: and the kingdom of death, opposite, right? When pressure comes,
• 13:33
  Speaker 1: I'm going to choose Christ. When pressure comes, you should
• 13:36
  Speaker 1: choose Christ too. When temptation comes, and we're all going
• 13:40
  Speaker 1: to be tempted. Jesus himself was tempted, but yet he
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: did not sin in any of his temptations. And he
• 13:46
  Speaker 1: made a way of us for us to escape Temptation.
• 13:49
  Speaker 1: 1 Corinthians 10, 13. So when temptation comes, we choose Christ.
• 13:56
  Speaker 1: When everyone else is compromising, right? The church people, they
• 14:02
  Speaker 1: know the lingo. They know the look. They know how
• 14:06
  Speaker 1: to play the pastors and the leaders and all that stuff.
• 14:09
  Speaker 1: They know how to do church. When everyone else compromises, right?
• 14:14
  Speaker 1: Stand on God's word and move out of that compromise.
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: I know the temptation is, well, this is great. If
• 14:23
  Speaker 1: the church people are doing it, they say they love Jesus,
• 14:26
  Speaker 1: I could do it too. It's a temptation, right? But
• 14:30
  Speaker 1: that's only going to lead, those compromises will lead to
• 14:33
  Speaker 1: tremendous consequences. Right? It's just a matter of time. So
• 14:39
  Speaker 1: stay away. Stay up. Wake up. Win the day with
• 14:42
  Speaker 1: the Lord Jesus Christ. When the world says, yo, just
• 14:47
  Speaker 1: follow the crowd. Everybody else is doing this, Sam. Just
• 14:50
  Speaker 1: follow the crowd. What are you doing these morning devos for?
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: Stop doing that, right? This is the voice of the enemy.
• 14:57
  Speaker 1: And I'm just role-playing here. The enemy would tell you,
• 15:00
  Speaker 1: stop doing what God wants you to do and do
• 15:03
  Speaker 1: what you want to do. And look at how much
• 15:06
  Speaker 1: fun everybody else is having. And look at that marriage.
• 15:09
  Speaker 1: They don't have God, but look at how good their
• 15:11
  Speaker 1: marriage is. Look at this person. He's successful. He has money.
• 15:15
  Speaker 1: He don't need God. So, you know what I mean?
• 15:17
  Speaker 1: That voice... of the deceiver will start speaking to us.
• 15:22
  Speaker 1: And we're like, nope, we ain't part of this world system.
• 15:25
  Speaker 1: The flesh is not going to overcome the spirit. The
• 15:28
  Speaker 1: spirits are going to overcome the flesh. That's how we run.
• 15:31
  Speaker 1: So when everyone else compromises, stand on God's word. When
• 15:34
  Speaker 1: the world says, follow the crowd, remember that Jesus said, no,
• 15:39
  Speaker 1: don't follow the crowd, follow me. Jesus said, follow me.
• 15:42
  Speaker 1: He didn't say follow a religion, follow a church, follow
• 15:44
  Speaker 1: an apostle, a prophet, an evangelist, a pastor teacher, he said, no,
• 15:50
  Speaker 1: follow me, right? So the crowd is following their favorite XYZ,
• 15:56
  Speaker 1: their favorite sports person, their favorite athlete, their favorite musician,
• 16:00
  Speaker 1: their favorite rapper, their favorite singer, their favorite whatever, they're
• 16:05
  Speaker 1: following that. And we're following Christ, Jesus, amen? That's why
• 16:10
  Speaker 1: the world thinks that we're lame and corny and narrow-minded.
• 16:13
  Speaker 1: You ever heard somebody say, you Christians are all narrow-minded.
• 16:16
  Speaker 1: You're not open to other things. No, we're open to everything.
• 16:19
  Speaker 1: The Bible literally says, literally, when people say that, I'm like, yeah,
• 16:23
  Speaker 1: you don't know the scriptures. The Bible says we can
• 16:25
  Speaker 1: do anything we want to do, but not everything we
• 16:27
  Speaker 1: want to do will be beneficial. Right? It's a choice.
• 16:33
  Speaker 1: Make a choice daily. We do make choices daily. Whether
• 16:36
  Speaker 1: we're going to do right or wrong, whether we're going
• 16:37
  Speaker 1: to tell the truth or tell a lie, whether we're
• 16:40
  Speaker 1: going to walk in darkness or walk in the light,
• 16:41
  Speaker 1: whether we're going to follow Christ or not. And Jesus,
• 16:46
  Speaker 1: his love is so amazing and his grace is so
• 16:50
  Speaker 1: amazing that he'll allow us to move how we want
• 16:52
  Speaker 1: to move and he'll still love us anyway. But I'd
• 16:55
  Speaker 1: rather move with him because when I choose Jesus, I'm
• 16:59
  Speaker 1: choosing victory. I'm choosing freedom, liberty. I'm choosing health. I'm
• 17:04
  Speaker 1: choosing righteousness, not wretchedness. I'm choosing Christ, right? Is it
• 17:10
  Speaker 1: easy every day? Of course not. We live in a
• 17:13
  Speaker 1: broken world, a world that's literally targeting our flesh, right?
• 17:18
  Speaker 1: Every single day. Every moment of the day. Haven't you noticed?
• 17:23
  Speaker 1: In the movies, on the internet, social media, on YouTube.
• 17:28
  Speaker 1: Everywhere you look, someone is pitching fleshly things at us.
• 17:34
  Speaker 1: They're no respective persons. They don't care if you're Christian
• 17:37
  Speaker 1: or not. As a matter of fact, I'm in a
• 17:39
  Speaker 1: lot of Christian groups on social media. And a lot
• 17:41
  Speaker 1: of those Christian groups are infiltrated. I'm pretty sure it's
• 17:46
  Speaker 1: not the admins that are putting these pictures and photos
• 17:50
  Speaker 1: of pornographic material on these Christian groups, but it's just
• 17:53
  Speaker 1: a target, right? So let's put it in front of
• 17:56
  Speaker 1: the men of God and see how many people will
• 17:59
  Speaker 1: click onto it, like a social experiment. So it's crazy.

  Speaker 1: Your identity isn't found in what the world approves. Your
• 18:07
  Speaker 1: identity is found in who Jesus approves. Your identity is
• 18:11
  Speaker 1: found in the Lord Jesus Christ. I've been saying that
• 18:14
  Speaker 1: for years. My friends, my brothers in Christ, we've been
• 18:17
  Speaker 1: saying this for years. We identify in Christ. Christ is
• 18:20
  Speaker 1: our identity. So people have these false identities. I identify
• 18:28
  Speaker 1: as an elephant. I identify as X, Y, Z. And
• 18:32
  Speaker 1: because they're saying they identify as that, they expect people
• 18:36
  Speaker 1: to accept it or respect it. And then when you say, well,
• 18:41
  Speaker 1: I identify as a Christ follower, a Christian, people want
• 18:43
  Speaker 1: to mock, scream, yell. Make laws against that. How dare you? Right?
• 18:49
  Speaker 1: Isn't it what the world says is good is actually
• 18:52
  Speaker 1: bad and what the world says is bad is actually bad. Right?
• 18:57
  Speaker 1: They're calling good bad and bad good. That's what the
• 19:00
  Speaker 1: world does. Today, I'm going to ask myself, let's ask
• 19:06
  Speaker 1: ourselves this. What is influencing me more? Who and what
• 19:13
  Speaker 1: are you being influenced by more? The kingdom of God
• 19:18
  Speaker 1: or the culture that's around us? Think about it. Jesus answered,
• 19:22
  Speaker 1: my kingdom, his kingdom, is not of this world. Are
• 19:26
  Speaker 1: we saying the same thing? Because we can imitate the
• 19:30
  Speaker 1: Lord Jesus. We're supposed to imitate God. Or are we saying, nah,
• 19:35
  Speaker 1: I'm going to see what the culture is doing and
• 19:38
  Speaker 1: I'm going to camp out there, right? And let the
• 19:41
  Speaker 1: culture influence me more. We have a choice to make.

  Speaker 1: Jesus to send a third. And I'm looking for the revival.

  Speaker 1: praise the Lord. But the scripture says it's going to

  Speaker 1: be a falling away. It's going to get bad. The
