- 0:24Speaker 1: Welcome into Jags Am.
- 0:26Speaker 2: We are at day two of joint practices with the
- 0:29Speaker 2: Detroit Lions and we're in Allen Park, Michigan.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Not to rub it in, it is lovely outside and
- 0:34Speaker 1: we got.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Finally beat the heat a little bit as we get
- 0:37Speaker 2: to see, you know, the Jaguars go up against someone
- 0:40Speaker 2: that isn't their own team for once.
- 0:42Speaker 3: It is better than yesterday in terms of the weather.
- 0:44Speaker 3: So it's uh, it's gonna be good. I'm looking forward today.
- 0:48Speaker 3: No hitting today, Brian, but I think there's still stuff
- 0:51Speaker 3: we can get out of it, and on this show,
- 0:52Speaker 3: we cannot break down what happened yesterday.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Yesterday was a big day, very physical practice, and that's
- 0:57Speaker 2: what we're gonna start out with our big things. Big
- 0:59Speaker 2: thing number one is physicality, because when you're not going
- 1:02Speaker 2: up against your own team, you don't really have to
- 1:04Speaker 2: rain it in necessarily as much. It's still training camp,
- 1:06Speaker 2: of course, but there's a little bit extra edge to it,
- 1:08Speaker 2: and there's a little bit more competition. I watched a
- 1:10Speaker 2: lot of the defense, didn't see too much for our
- 1:13Speaker 2: defense and their starting offense, but you guys watched a
- 1:16Speaker 2: lot of the offense. But I think it was a
- 1:17Speaker 2: little bit chippier on that side of things.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Well, it was definitely chippier and Jeff Wagaman talking about.
- 1:22Speaker 4: The Hut to Love About podcast yesterday.
- 1:24Speaker 3: I thought maybe it was a little overdone on the
- 1:27Speaker 3: Lions part. I kind of got a little bit of
- 1:29Speaker 3: that sense the Jaguars, to me, Brian seemed yesterday when
- 1:34Speaker 3: the Lions were sort of pushing and shoving, it was
- 1:36Speaker 3: more of, Okay, let's stop this.
- 1:38Speaker 4: We have work to do. I don't know what's right,
- 1:41Speaker 4: what's wrong.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I don't think anything was a big deal yesterday in
- 1:44Speaker 3: terms of you know, I don't think these teams are
- 1:46Speaker 3: gonna have any built up resentment from me yesterday. I
- 1:49Speaker 3: sort of sort of spoke to two different approaches, and
- 1:52Speaker 3: the Jaguars really aren't a big fight team in practice
- 1:56Speaker 3: with themselves, so I didn't expect it to.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Carry over to their opponent.
- 2:00Speaker 5: It was an early hit I forget which linebacker was
- 2:02Speaker 5: for the Lions that took traves etn all the way
- 2:05Speaker 5: to the ground in an early session where they were
- 2:07Speaker 5: completely live. That kind of jump started it and got
- 2:10Speaker 5: the fire lit. But I watched his Brandon Sheriff in particular,
- 2:13Speaker 5: went over and It's like, hey, guys, we're all pros
- 2:15Speaker 5: here trying to get to the regular season healthy.
- 2:18Speaker 6: Let's not let this get out of control.
- 2:20Speaker 5: I mean, he, of all people, got in the middle,
- 2:22Speaker 5: five time pro bowler, got a lot of credibility, and.
- 2:26Speaker 6: They calmed it down just a little bit.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I was I was watching almost exclusively Anton Harrison against
- 2:34Speaker 5: Aiden Hutchinson, and then I would flip to the other
- 2:36Speaker 5: field and watch Josh and Trayvon against the offensive tackles
- 2:40Speaker 5: for the Lions, and not a lot of fighting there.
- 2:43Speaker 5: Although I think Aiden Hutchinson at one point wanted two.
- 2:45Speaker 5: I'm gonna hold off on that because it's part of
- 2:47Speaker 5: my will.
- 2:47Speaker 6: He won't. He might.
- 2:48Speaker 5: Anton Harrison was extraordinarily physical with him and kept him
- 2:52Speaker 5: from getting anywhere near Trevor Lawrence.
- 2:54Speaker 6: It was really good to see.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And I think what you want to see is in
- 2:58Speaker 2: these things is that competitive fire. But you don't want
- 2:59Speaker 2: to get out of control, right, You don't want these
- 3:01Speaker 2: crazy fights that sometimes you see in other camps where
- 3:03Speaker 2: it's it's not a mast discipline, Right, it's not a
- 3:05Speaker 2: nice game.
- 3:06Speaker 6: You're gonna have some of that.
- 3:07Speaker 4: We'll talking to walk a little afterward.
- 3:09Speaker 3: He said, you're almost disappointed a little bit if there's
- 3:12Speaker 3: not something like that, and we kind of expected even disappointed,
- 3:15Speaker 3: But that was the feel I got of it's going
- 3:18Speaker 3: to happen when it happens, as long as it doesn't
- 3:21Speaker 3: escalate into something where they're, you know, throwing helmets and
- 3:25Speaker 3: rolling off the field. I don't think anything. I don't
- 3:27Speaker 3: think anybody looked back at it as a very big deal.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Our big thing number two revolves around Devin Lloyd because
- 3:34Speaker 2: he's been having a great camp, and yesterday we saw
- 3:38Speaker 2: some of what we're hoping to see from him in
- 3:40Speaker 2: year two. I watched defense almost exclusively yesterday, our starters
- 3:43Speaker 2: and Devin Lloyd. He had a pick early, as as
- 3:46Speaker 2: we mentioned John I think mentioned in your article. I
- 3:48Speaker 2: saw him drop another one that was literally in his
- 3:50Speaker 2: hands and then you know, would be sacked on at
- 3:52Speaker 2: least one occasion. And that's exactly what you want to want
- 3:55Speaker 2: to see from him, and we've been hearing it from
- 3:56Speaker 2: the coaches, but to see him do that against not
- 3:58Speaker 2: his own team to be a good signed for year too.
- 4:01Speaker 5: There's so much focus on him because he is capable
- 4:04Speaker 5: of doing so many things. He was the Associated Press
- 4:07Speaker 5: College Football Player of the Year two years ago, and
- 4:10Speaker 5: recall all the great players that were playing at Alabama and.
- 4:13Speaker 6: Georgia then, and it's remarkable. He was an eight sac guy.
- 4:16Speaker 5: I believe he had four interceptions to fumble sports to
- 4:19Speaker 5: fumble recovery, and I think he scored two touchdowns. That's
- 4:22Speaker 5: where the Jaguars were drafting a guy in space who
- 4:25Speaker 5: could make plays. To see some of that right now
- 4:28Speaker 5: really encouraging for where he fits.
- 4:30Speaker 3: In this defense. Yeah, And I talked to Devon after
- 4:34Speaker 3: practice and it was interesting the analysis that Jeff Wagerman
- 4:38Speaker 3: on Huddle Up yesterday talked about with Devon doesn't seem
- 4:42Speaker 3: to be looking over at Foyer Lucon as much after
- 4:46Speaker 3: after play calls as well, without prompting, Devon said the
- 4:50Speaker 3: exact same thing on the field.
- 4:52Speaker 4: So it shows me.
- 4:54Speaker 3: That not only does Evin think it's happening, it shows
- 4:57Speaker 3: that it's happening. He's playing faster. And I think about
- 5:01Speaker 3: Devin Lloyd. When he's around the ball, he makes plays
- 5:05Speaker 3: and that's a rare. I mean, most defensive players, if
- 5:10Speaker 3: they can get around the ball, the reason they're on
- 5:11Speaker 3: defense is they don't really have a knack for catching
- 5:14Speaker 3: the ball. Devin creates turnovers. He created I think he
- 5:19Speaker 3: had five takeaways last year. I think he had two
- 5:21Speaker 3: fund recovers. The interceptions that they're doing the math, regardless,
- 5:24Speaker 3: he had impact. If he's around the ball more, this
- 5:28Speaker 3: kid could be a Pro Bowl type player.
- 5:30Speaker 5: I spent some time with him before Worth last week
- 5:32Speaker 5: before the game against the Cowboys, and he talked about
- 5:34Speaker 5: pulling out all the stops in the offseason to be
- 5:38Speaker 5: ready to beat, not to play slower, but for the
- 5:42Speaker 5: game to be slower for him, including going to church
- 5:45Speaker 5: with some of his teammates for some calm time during
- 5:48Speaker 5: the week, some thoughtful meditation and mindfulness of practice that
- 5:53Speaker 5: a lot of players are working on so that they
- 5:54Speaker 5: can be focused on the moment, literally in the weight room,
- 5:57Speaker 5: in the film room, on the field, at church, wherever
- 6:00Speaker 5: he was. He was entirely focused this offseason about calming
- 6:04Speaker 5: himself down so that the game would slow down for
- 6:07Speaker 5: him and kai. Based on what we saw in Dallas
- 6:09Speaker 5: last week and yesterday in the practice field, those practices
- 6:12Speaker 5: of his are paying off.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Big pilates, guys, well, we've learned.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yes, he and I have that in common, though, I'm
- 6:18Speaker 2: sure that's helping him as well in terms of being
- 6:19Speaker 2: everybody needs to be on the field. And our final
- 6:22Speaker 2: big thing of today was a mighty matchup. We talk
- 6:24Speaker 2: a lot about, you know, Trayvon Walker Aiden Hutchinson, but
- 6:26Speaker 2: the matchup yesterday was Anton Harrison, another first round pick,
- 6:29Speaker 2: and Aiden Hutchinson. And farbe it for us to not
- 6:32Speaker 2: brag on our guy. Anton Harrison had did pretty well yesterday.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Brian, thank you washed him more. I was on the
- 6:38Speaker 3: other field watching something else.
- 6:40Speaker 5: But I talk about it a little hudge powerful, right.
- 6:43Speaker 5: I mean, Hutchinson is six foot seven and two hundred
- 6:45Speaker 5: and seventy pounds. Now, He's not extraordinarily long like Trayvon
- 6:48Speaker 5: Walker is, and so he gets into the body of
- 6:52Speaker 5: guys to try to create some some move, some push,
- 6:55Speaker 5: some rush.
- 6:56Speaker 6: Harrison stood him up. There were a couple of times.
- 6:59Speaker 5: Where you could see Hutchinson putting his hand up underneath
- 7:02Speaker 5: the jersey and getting up towards the face mask. He
- 7:04Speaker 5: was so frustrated. We were on the air when they
- 7:06Speaker 5: were doing one on ones here. I've told there were
- 7:09Speaker 5: three matchups. He won all three. I watched him four
- 7:12Speaker 5: or five times, he won all five of those. In fact,
- 7:15Speaker 5: I had one scout in the office or in the hotel.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Tell me, as I was getting on the elevator later
- 7:20Speaker 5: in the evening, did you see seventy six? He's really good,
- 7:26Speaker 5: and that's what you.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Want to see.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Obviously we've been we shim a little bit in that
- 7:29Speaker 2: game against Alas, but that wasn't the starters and then
- 7:31Speaker 2: obsteam gol up against.
- 7:32Speaker 4: A top pick.
- 7:33Speaker 6: One concern.
- 7:33Speaker 5: He's had that shoulder, yes and he got stuck yesterday
- 7:36Speaker 5: at some point. It was at the end of practice,
- 7:38Speaker 5: so it's hard to tell. And today they won't be
- 7:41Speaker 5: going full but from what I gather, he'll probably wear
- 7:45Speaker 5: a brace all season long. That'll be something that he'll
- 7:47Speaker 5: have to deal with. It's going to be about pain
- 7:49Speaker 5: management for him. You just hope it doesn't hold him
- 7:51Speaker 5: back in any way because he was really really dominant
- 7:55Speaker 5: up to that point yesterday.
- 7:56Speaker 3: It certainly has the feel of something that's going to linger.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Let's hope they can figure out a way to get
- 8:01Speaker 3: it rested in controlled because big year form they need
- 8:05Speaker 3: him and so far looks like he can do it
- 8:06Speaker 3: if he's healthy.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And hopefully they do that in the preseason.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Obviously, you know you want to get reps in but
- 8:10Speaker 2: if we can prevent a season long lingering injury, that
- 8:13Speaker 2: would be that would preface that. So we'll keep an
- 8:16Speaker 2: eye on things coming up. We're going to talk a
- 8:18Speaker 2: little bit about the game coming up on Saturday and
- 8:21Speaker 2: what we think might go down to stay with us,
- 8:35Speaker 2: and then you live from practice. It just began now
- 8:38Speaker 2: and we saw a lot of physicality yesterday. No pads
- 8:41Speaker 2: today for day two of joined practice with the Lions,
- 8:44Speaker 2: So I'm not sure what we'll necessarily get out of it,
- 8:46Speaker 2: but a lot we could take from yesterday. I'm just
- 8:49Speaker 2: happy to be outside and I wore pants yesterday. It
- 8:52Speaker 2: was like, I don't think I could possibly do that
- 8:55Speaker 2: in Florida at this time of year.
- 8:56Speaker 1: So it's the little.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Things show yesterday, but not being going to get anything
- 9:00Speaker 3: out of pad, out of non padded work today.
- 9:04Speaker 4: But you also had some guys nicked.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Up yesterday, So right, that's a fine line you walk.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what we're back to in this day and age.
- 9:12Speaker 4: That's what we talk about it.
- 9:13Speaker 3: As much as we like seeing it and we love
- 9:14Speaker 3: seeing the physicality, you didn't love seeing Josh Well's limp off.
- 9:20Speaker 3: So as much as we like the padded stuff, credit
- 9:24Speaker 3: to Douk Peterson.
- 9:24Speaker 4: For knowing when to pull back.
- 9:25Speaker 5: And we don't have an official update on any of
- 9:27Speaker 5: those injuries from yesterday, although I think I may have
- 9:29Speaker 5: told you guys, wouldn't. I was walking off the practice
- 9:32Speaker 5: field yesterday, fully said I'll be fine.
- 9:35Speaker 2: So he left practice yesterday with a foot injury, but
- 9:38Speaker 2: he was walking around. He didn't get removed from practice
- 9:40Speaker 2: or anything like that. So we'll keep you updated on that,
- 9:42Speaker 2: especially when we.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Get out there today. I see who's doing what. But
- 9:45Speaker 1: we do want to talk a little bit about the game.
- 9:47Speaker 1: He will, he won't.
- 9:48Speaker 2: He might present him by Sebdeth and what we have
- 9:50Speaker 2: for in terms of predictions for your preseason.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Game number two, We're gonna start off with you, Brian.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I think you're gonna do trade.
- 9:56Speaker 5: He's the guy who's probably not gonna play much, if
- 9:58Speaker 5: at all, on Saturday. We have not been told might
- 10:01Speaker 5: not play. Yeah, he might have played exactly, but look,
- 10:05Speaker 5: he was the better of the two players who were
- 10:08Speaker 5: drafted one and two yesterday, right, he was much better
- 10:13Speaker 5: than Aiden Hutchinson. And I went and checked with someone
- 10:15Speaker 5: and said, hey, this is what I saw.
- 10:16Speaker 6: Am I right? And he said it's hard.
- 10:18Speaker 5: To miss There was a moment yesterday where he jacked
- 10:21Speaker 5: up Penne Sewell, who might be the best right tackle
- 10:24Speaker 5: in football, and I mean just pushed him backwards. He
- 10:28Speaker 5: is a physical specimen and I think, based on yesterday,
- 10:31Speaker 5: is the better football player. And I think he's a
- 10:33Speaker 5: guy who's going to be seen as being the better
- 10:35Speaker 5: football player over the course of his career. Taking big picture, now,
- 10:40Speaker 5: he won't be a fifteen sack guy. That's not his game.
- 10:43Speaker 5: He's not Lawrence Taylor. But he might be a ten
- 10:45Speaker 5: sack guy. He might get to that point this year
- 10:48Speaker 5: because he showcased a couple.
- 10:50Speaker 6: Of inside moves and a spin move. We didn't see
- 10:54Speaker 6: it from him.
- 10:54Speaker 5: I mean last year would have just said you saw
- 10:56Speaker 5: the outside bull rush, you saw the inside bull rush.
- 10:58Speaker 5: And yesterday he caught Taylor Decker, who was an excellent
- 11:01Speaker 5: left tackle off guard, with.
- 11:02Speaker 6: A couple of those moves.
- 11:04Speaker 5: So he's not only a dominant physical specialmen, he's a
- 11:07Speaker 5: guy who looks like he's gotten federal Yeah.
- 11:09Speaker 4: I went with Nathan Rourke as calls, and you know
- 11:17Speaker 4: he will.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I think he will play a lot, you know, because
- 11:20Speaker 3: my sense is that it's going to be a reserve
- 11:23Speaker 3: oriented game, so I think he's gonna get an opportunity.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I'd expect him to play most of the second half.
- 11:29Speaker 3: He will continue to create excitement. Jaguars fans and fans
- 11:33Speaker 3: around the country understandably love this this.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Guy for the great play made last year. I'll do
- 11:40Speaker 4: two mites.
- 11:41Speaker 3: We might need to pump the brakes a little bit, Brian,
- 11:43Speaker 3: because he's a rookie playing against third and fourteen guys
- 11:48Speaker 3: last week.
- 11:49Speaker 4: So before we missed.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Design him a bus Let's make sure that he can
- 11:55Speaker 3: play against very good NFL players.
- 11:57Speaker 6: But he might give.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Us a lot of fun the next couple of weeks,
- 12:01Speaker 3: and he might be a push for a roster spot
- 12:04Speaker 3: around here, because it's tough for team when you see
- 12:09Speaker 3: some sparkle from a young quarterback and some potential, it's
- 12:13Speaker 3: a dangerous entity to let get away from you.
- 12:17Speaker 5: He was a guy who made a normally difficult part
- 12:21Speaker 5: of a preseason game fun last week. I will absolutely
- 12:24Speaker 5: give him that. But I aren't we passed with Trevor.
- 12:27Speaker 5: Aren't we passed getting excited about backup quarterbacks. We have
- 12:31Speaker 5: done that for so long in Jacksonville because there wasn't
- 12:34Speaker 5: the man. So I just I'm glad he's on the roster.
- 12:38Speaker 5: He's gonna make it more fun. But it's all about sixteen,
- 12:41Speaker 5: not eighteen.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Fingers crossed. Yes, I chose Parker Washington for me. He will,
- 12:47Speaker 2: he won't, He might, because why not.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I think he's gonna get some.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I think he's locked up that five spot in terms
- 12:54Speaker 2: of wide receivers, probably the carry six.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I think he's got the five lockdown. I think we're
- 12:57Speaker 1: gonna see him.
- 12:58Speaker 2: He will plays anificant amount, even though I know maybe
- 13:01Speaker 2: the starters might not play as much. I think he,
- 13:03Speaker 2: you know, either returning kicks and punts or also on
- 13:06Speaker 2: wide receiver, will see a significant amount of time. I
- 13:08Speaker 2: don't think he's he won't get a touchdown or anything
- 13:10Speaker 2: like that, but I think he's gonna They're gonna focus
- 13:12Speaker 2: a lot of the offense on him just to see
- 13:13Speaker 2: what his you know, what his abilities are right now,
- 13:16Speaker 2: because I think ideally at some point he's maybe a
- 13:19Speaker 2: Christian Kirk like slot kind of guy. So I think
- 13:21Speaker 2: we'll see five plus receptions from him, hopefully on Saturday,
- 13:25Speaker 2: and I'm going with just kind of seeing what he
- 13:27Speaker 2: gives you. We saw him returning kicks and punts a
- 13:29Speaker 2: lot in Dallas, but maybe what he gives you a
- 13:31Speaker 2: little bit more at wide receiver.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Yeah, he might. I mean to use the thing Brian
- 13:36Speaker 3: loves so much. He might get a touchdown because I
- 13:39Speaker 3: think he's gonna play a lot, and he's starting to
- 13:42Speaker 3: look like a guy who's on the cusp of making
- 13:44Speaker 3: some play.
- 13:45Speaker 4: So I agree Kyle.
- 13:46Speaker 5: He uses his feet to overcome whatever speed he doesn't
- 13:51Speaker 5: have because he's in a position to get open in
- 13:54Speaker 5: places where other guy's going.
- 13:56Speaker 6: He's got excellent feet.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I find it to be a little bit deceiving as
- 13:59Speaker 1: well if you don't necessarily expect it. And then he's
- 14:02Speaker 1: very shifty on you, which I think aids to his
- 14:04Speaker 1: skill set.
- 14:05Speaker 2: So we'll hopefully see some of that action in their
- 14:07Speaker 2: matchup on Saturday.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Coming up, stay with us, we're gonna talk a little bit.
- 14:11Speaker 2: About things going on in the AFC South and how
- 14:13Speaker 2: they affect the Jags, and we'll have all.
- 14:15Speaker 1: The details for you after the brain Welcome back to
- 14:22Speaker 1: jag zam ssented by Fields Auto Group. Fields Auto Group, Jacksonville,
- 14:26Speaker 1: Step up to luxury.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Fields Auto dot Com are coming to you live for
- 14:32Speaker 2: jag Zam Today Thursday edition.
- 14:33Speaker 1: From Allen Park, Michigan point practice with the lines the
- 14:36Speaker 1: second day.
- 14:37Speaker 2: No pads today, but still gonna be interesting to see,
- 14:40Speaker 2: you know, what work they can get in before the
- 14:41Speaker 2: preseason game on Saturday. They're off on Friday. We're gonna
- 14:44Speaker 2: talk a little bit about things going on around the division,
- 14:47Speaker 2: because we like to keep up with things that are
- 14:49Speaker 2: going on around the league and just how that's gonna
- 14:51Speaker 2: affect the Jaguars going forward. So the first thing we're
- 14:54Speaker 2: gonna talk about is the Titans, and that's Titans.
- 14:55Speaker 1: The Colts, excuse me.
- 14:57Speaker 2: They named Anthony Richardson their starting quarterback for Week one,
- 15:00Speaker 2: and the Jaguars play.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Them in Week one.
- 15:02Speaker 2: We know a little bit at something about rookie quarterbacks
- 15:04Speaker 2: going out there. Is this the best decision for them?
- 15:07Speaker 2: Do you think throw them into the fire if they're ready.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Well, you know, I was asked the other day if
- 15:12Speaker 4: I was surprised that they did it.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I guess I don't know enough about what they wanted
- 15:17Speaker 3: to try to get accomplished to be surprised.
- 15:19Speaker 4: I think it.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Sets them up on the surface for a season of
- 15:26Speaker 3: really working through his development growth because he did not
- 15:31Speaker 3: look to me in college like a guy who was
- 15:33Speaker 3: ready for the nuances of the NFL yet. So they're
- 15:40Speaker 3: taking the approach we're going to throw this guy in,
- 15:42Speaker 3: We're going to grow with him. He has the athleticism.
- 15:45Speaker 3: He strikes me as a young quarterback Brian who has
- 15:48Speaker 3: the athleticism to make some plays and win them a
- 15:52Speaker 3: couple of games that they shouldn't. I don't know if
- 15:55Speaker 3: that translates to the consistency for them to be a
- 15:59Speaker 3: contender season. So the reason I think it makes sense
- 16:02Speaker 3: for them to put him in is because Shane Steike,
- 16:04Speaker 3: and the head coach of the Colts, came from Philly
- 16:07Speaker 3: where he worked with Jalen Hurts, and that's the kind
- 16:10Speaker 3: of systems they're gonna run. And even though Gardner Minshew
- 16:14Speaker 3: is a guy who runs around to create plays.
- 16:17Speaker 5: He's not that kind of a running quarterback. And so
- 16:19Speaker 5: it works better to just put Richardson out there. I
- 16:22Speaker 5: had a scout that I know tell me the other
- 16:24Speaker 5: day he will throw. Richardson will some beautiful just I
- 16:28Speaker 5: mean flipping the wrist, thirty five yard darts, and then
- 16:32Speaker 5: he'll miss wide open touch passes out in the flat.
- 16:35Speaker 5: He's got a long growth curve, but with Stikeen as
- 16:38Speaker 5: the head coach. It gives him a chance to get
- 16:41Speaker 5: in and get ready so that in twenty twenty four
- 16:44Speaker 5: he might have a better chance to produce.
- 16:45Speaker 4: It's a fit. If anybody can develop him, it's the
- 16:49Speaker 4: right coach.
- 16:49Speaker 6: Was he what he did?
- 16:50Speaker 2: And fair point there in a little bit of rebuilt
- 16:52Speaker 2: mode and because he lacks, you know, game experience, is
- 16:55Speaker 2: probably the way to go with it. Over in Titans camp,
- 16:58Speaker 2: Treylon Burke suffer a knee injury in training camp. He's
- 17:03Speaker 2: going to be out for a couple of weeks. It's
- 17:04Speaker 2: an lclstrain, noticevere as they thought it was going to be.
- 17:07Speaker 2: And we talked a little bit about our injuries. How
- 17:10Speaker 2: at this point, especially on the back end, where maybe
- 17:12Speaker 2: most decisions are already made, if you know you're making
- 17:15Speaker 2: the roster, to kind of pull it back a little
- 17:17Speaker 2: bit in terms of not maybe diving for all these
- 17:20Speaker 2: catches and trying to keep yourself.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yeah, healthy, safety first in the league right now, you
- 17:24Speaker 3: don't want to lose frontline guys because it goes that
- 17:28Speaker 3: saying with depth with the cab, most teams can't replace him.
- 17:31Speaker 3: So as what we said earlier about just a Doug
- 17:34Speaker 3: saying Nope, I assume it was more Doug because Dan
- 17:37Speaker 3: Campbell seems like the kind of guy wh would want to.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Hit all the time.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Right, be smart, get to the regular season. That's been
- 17:43Speaker 3: them for fifteen years, is not going to change.
- 17:46Speaker 5: They're Countain Burgs that they're hoping that he and DeAndre
- 17:48Speaker 5: Hopkins can give Ryan Tannehill a big year bounce back
- 17:53Speaker 5: and compete. That's why they kept Derek Henry, That's why
- 17:55Speaker 5: they kept Tannehill. That's an important part of their offense.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yeah, tougher out and a lot of Jaguars observers feel
- 18:03Speaker 3: like the last part of last season is a trend,
- 18:05Speaker 3: meaning the Jaguars got hot.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Titans faded. They had some injuries as well. Yeah, they
- 18:09Speaker 4: had some key injuries down the stretch.
- 18:11Speaker 3: They're well coached, their defense was decimated last year. Yeah,
- 18:15Speaker 3: count them out when they're out, not before it.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And then we're gonna go to the Houston Texans. They
- 18:20Speaker 2: began joint practice with the Dolphins this week, but they
- 18:23Speaker 2: also have joined practice with the Saints next week, so
- 18:25Speaker 2: altogether they're gonna have four joint practices, two games in
- 18:28Speaker 2: about eleven to twelve days. There is there something as
- 18:31Speaker 2: too much of playing someone else or do you feel
- 18:33Speaker 2: like for a team like that, it's really helpful.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Doug wouldn't mind doing that.
- 18:42Speaker 4: If it's controlled.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I don't know from what Doug has said, I don't
- 18:47Speaker 3: think he has much interest in doing a week one
- 18:49Speaker 3: of preseason because he feels like training camp is still
- 18:52Speaker 3: going on and they're learning each other at that point.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised see if they do it again
- 18:56Speaker 3: in the last two weeks. As long as it's controlled
- 18:59Speaker 3: like this, what's the harm to be done today? With
- 19:03Speaker 3: JOIN The only thing you would worry about is physicality,
- 19:06Speaker 3: Brian Well, and like.
- 19:08Speaker 5: You said, when you're not working in shoulder pads and
- 19:10Speaker 5: going all the way to the ground, right, you can
- 19:13Speaker 5: really do a good job controlling it. I mean, you're
- 19:14Speaker 5: still going to get those injuries where guys with plant
- 19:17Speaker 5: their leg and it doesn't give and it creates problems.
- 19:20Speaker 5: But I don't think it's I don't see it as
- 19:23Speaker 5: being difficult because with one fewer preseason game, these reps,
- 19:29Speaker 5: Doug said last week when I talked to him in Dallas,
- 19:31Speaker 5: these reps are more vital to him, and I assume
- 19:35Speaker 5: he means yesterday's reps more vital than the preseason reps.
- 19:39Speaker 5: He gets his starters, So why not do it, especially
- 19:41Speaker 5: when you're only the three preseason games now.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Definitely get the quality reps out there like we saw yesterday.
- 19:46Speaker 2: All right, coming up after this, we'll have you know
- 19:49Speaker 2: our previously what we think the game will look like
- 19:51Speaker 2: on Saturday, and a little bit more about what's going
- 19:52Speaker 2: down and joint practice today.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Jags fan, if you.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Want customized Jaguars furniture.
- 20:03Speaker 2: For your home, I'll i check out diipchair dot com.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Wereuse all customizable options. Dipchair is furniture for hands.
- 20:12Speaker 2: We're on location again for our final joint practice with
- 20:15Speaker 2: the Lions today, day two of two here in Allen Park, Michigan,
- 20:19Speaker 2: and we have a game on Saturday. What we'll see
- 20:22Speaker 2: as terms of starters, we're not really sure. Probably less
- 20:26Speaker 2: than we saw in game one, I would imagine. But
- 20:30Speaker 2: if an't they don't play, they don't dress. What are
- 20:32Speaker 2: you looking forward to? And maybe some guys that are
- 20:34Speaker 2: on the bubble are hoping to see it?
- 20:35Speaker 6: Well.
- 20:36Speaker 3: I think the fact that there was is such a
- 20:38Speaker 3: large draft class and the guys played well last week.
- 20:42Speaker 4: And there are very good players for this.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Team at fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, receiver, very interesting players.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I don't know if they're good yet at at at
- 20:52Speaker 3: cornerback and defensive back. I think they could be good.
- 20:54Speaker 3: They haven't really shown as much as the receivers in
- 20:56Speaker 3: my opinion, but you have those kind of battles and
- 21:00Speaker 3: those kind of players. I think there's a lot to watch.
- 21:02Speaker 3: I assume Bigsby will play a lot. I assume Brenton
- 21:05Speaker 3: Strange will play a lot. Ventro Miller, guys like that.
- 21:09Speaker 3: There's a lot to watch for Jaguars fancy and I
- 21:11Speaker 3: think you're gonna see the future.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Of the franchise playing on Saturday.
- 21:13Speaker 5: Well and if Josh Wells isn't gonna play, and I
- 21:15Speaker 5: would doubt he does, even though we don't know the
- 21:17Speaker 5: full extent of the injury, it means you're gonna see
- 21:20Speaker 5: Cole Van Lannon and Cooy Kronk.
- 21:21Speaker 6: You're gonna see Bobby Evans.
- 21:22Speaker 5: You're gonna see some of these guys that are gonna
- 21:24Speaker 5: be competing for potentially a job that no one thought
- 21:28Speaker 5: was available.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Yeah, Evans is interesting because he's played in the league,
- 21:31Speaker 3: just got here all of a sudden, his opportunity may
- 21:33Speaker 3: open up with Josh Wells.
- 21:34Speaker 5: And the other side of the coin is all the
- 21:36Speaker 5: young defensive backs and we named them and talked about them,
- 21:39Speaker 5: but Devad Wilson and Gregory Junior are guys who were
- 21:41Speaker 5: competing for jobs, same thing Christian braswell last week in
- 21:45Speaker 5: Monterrek Brown. Jaguars have built depth through the draft to
- 21:48Speaker 5: see if.
- 21:49Speaker 2: It could play and hopefully some consistency. Right, we saw
- 21:51Speaker 2: greg Junior and some of those other guys yes year
- 21:53Speaker 2: up to a flashing.
- 21:55Speaker 1: We want to see it again in game two and make.
- 21:57Speaker 2: That decision a little bit easier for Doug and the
- 21:59Speaker 2: guys when they make that final roster decision.
- 22:01Speaker 1: All right, we're all wrapped up here from day two
- 22:04Speaker 1: of joint training camp. That's Jags aam.
- 22:05Speaker 4: We'll check Invidia.
- 22:06Speaker 2: We'll have you fully covered this weekend and all your
- 22:08Speaker 2: broadcasts and of course next week as well.
- 22:10Speaker 1: It'll be on Monday.
