- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Broadway Center. Email of interest. Yes, indeed an email
- 0:05Speaker 1: of interest. This is from scrap Lady Chelsea. Okay, I
- 0:11Speaker 1: found this fascinating. Hello Lords, Hello. I was listening to
- 0:14Speaker 1: the show yesterday and the part about the Juggalo and
- 0:18Speaker 1: Guar show got my attention. Then Bill mentioned Belushi's Speedball.
- 0:24Speaker 1: That's a band. I accidentally saw them. Here's here's how,
- 0:31Speaker 1: here's how. I accidentally saw them in Wisconsin last year
- 0:35Speaker 1: when my boyfriend and I went to the Milwaukee Metalfest.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I say accidentally because we were going from one stage
- 0:43Speaker 1: to the other. It was nice because the whole festival
- 0:46Speaker 1: was in one venue and there were multiple stages. Even
- 0:50Speaker 1: nicer was all kinds of food trucks in open out
- 0:54Speaker 1: in the open outside part of the venue's smoking area. Anyway,
- 0:58Speaker 1: there was basically a room with a that was behind
- 1:01Speaker 1: a door on the way outside. My boyfriend opened the
- 1:05Speaker 1: door to see what was playing. I wandered off, and
- 1:07Speaker 1: then he grabbed me and said, you've got to see this.
- 1:12Speaker 1: So we go in and it's packed. The band was playing.
- 1:16Speaker 1: People including the band were shooting NERF guns into the
- 1:19Speaker 1: crowd and also tossing rolls of toilet paper. It was
- 1:24Speaker 1: pure chaos. I ended up with some toilet paper around
- 1:27Speaker 1: my neck like a sash. Not as cool as the
- 1:30Speaker 1: sash bill ass though, and luckily I was able to
- 1:34Speaker 1: dodge the toilet paper rules that were being thrown like brenades.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It was definitely a WTF moment and the metal fest
- 1:42Speaker 1: we go to, so apparently this couple goes to a
- 1:45Speaker 1: lot of metal fests. The metal fests we go to
- 1:47Speaker 1: have at least one WTF moment, and this was it.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Blushi Speedball was something and I'm glad I got to
- 1:55Speaker 1: experience that for about five minutes, especially because I got
- 1:59Speaker 1: heat stroke. Municipal waste where the crowd was passing a
- 2:03Speaker 1: trash can and an inflatable coffin pool floaty. My boyfriend
- 2:07Speaker 1: took video and the security guard that went to retrieve
- 2:10Speaker 1: the trash can looked so over the Shenanigans. He looked
- 2:13Speaker 1: so over the Shenanigans. We try to do Metalfest every year.
- 2:18Speaker 1: We went to Psycho Las Vegas. Wow. Psycho Las Vegas
- 2:22Speaker 1: two years in a row and it was awesome. The
- 2:25Speaker 1: first year was at the Mandalay Bay and there was
- 2:27Speaker 1: a hot tub mash pit in front of a small stage.
- 2:30Speaker 2: A hot tubsh pit.
- 2:33Speaker 1: The coolest though, was the Mandalay Beach that had a
- 2:36Speaker 1: stage set up somewhere in the middle more water washing
- 2:40Speaker 1: nighttime in the moonlight to the sounds of Pig Destroyer
- 2:44Speaker 1: and Dying Fetus.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Oh boy, that beach is cool at Mandalay.
- 2:49Speaker 1: A second year was at Resorts World, which was even
- 2:52Speaker 1: a lot better. The stages weren't that far apart. The
- 2:55Speaker 1: walk to the merch booth in Mandalay was so far,
- 2:59Speaker 1: so far. I had to go over a mile and
- 3:02Speaker 1: it was all indoors and you could eat at the
- 3:04Speaker 1: restaurants and still hear some of the bands. Anyway, I
- 3:08Speaker 1: just wanted to share thanks for all you guys do,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and thank you. Thank you for sharing this because it
- 3:14Speaker 1: gives me an insight into something that I will never do. Yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: I would, I will never do this.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I mean this is like Katie going to her edm.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Yeah. People, these people apparently love metal festivals. You make
- 3:28Speaker 1: my workday brighter. I'm listening to the old podcast as well.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Currently in May twenty twenty, and boy is that a trip.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Keep on keeping on scrap lady Chelsea.
- 3:38Speaker 3: May twenty twenty. I had been running the board for
- 3:42Speaker 3: two and a half months at that point.
- 3:44Speaker 4: You know, it's interesting that we have podcasts and I
- 3:47Speaker 4: don't know how far back they go before me, but
- 3:51Speaker 4: that their little snapshots of time.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Like that almost kind of makes me want to go
- 3:57Speaker 2: back and listen.
- 3:58Speaker 3: The earthquake is up there.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah, God, through all the pandemics.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You don't want to do that.
- 4:03Speaker 4: But no, I just but just as like a as
- 4:06Speaker 4: like a history lesson, as like, because there's like news
- 4:09Speaker 4: in those there.
- 4:10Speaker 3: And I was going through some of our old videos
- 4:13Speaker 3: and the videos that we posted used to have all
- 4:15Speaker 3: four of us on the screen and you guys working
- 4:17Speaker 3: from home. It was like a solid flashback of those
- 4:22Speaker 3: those days.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I don't want to remember those I know, you don't.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I don't. I don't want to remember yesterday.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I don't remember yesterday.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I'll see there you go. You know, Gina, you should
- 4:33Speaker 1: go listen to yesterday's podcast.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Maybe I will.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It'll it'll remind you of what it was.
- 4:39Speaker 2: But there are milestones, so we have.
- 4:43Speaker 4: We had our our Radio from Hell CD that we
- 4:46Speaker 4: had made, which way predates you, Katie. I do have
- 4:49Speaker 4: it though, but on that is the birth of my daughter.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Oh, we actually took microphones into the into the delivery room,
- 4:59Speaker 1: is screaming it's amazing, No, it's it's uh.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's my sister calling in to carry and Bill saying.
- 5:05Speaker 4: The baby's here, like that's that's a part of my life,
- 5:10Speaker 4: my family's life. That was saved, which.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Which should never have been done on the radio.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You know what else should have been done on the radio?
- 5:17Speaker 2: My wedding.
- 5:18Speaker 3: I was going to say, you should not like the
- 5:21Speaker 3: morning of your wedding. I don't know. I took like
- 5:23Speaker 3: a week off for my wedding.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Well it's been here. Now why you said? You're saying,
- 5:27Speaker 1: why did you do that? It? Did it really affect
- 5:30Speaker 1: your wedding? I was sick, but that had nothing to
- 5:35Speaker 1: do with doing the radio. You would have been sick anyway.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I should have slept. You were sick on your wedding, Yes,
- 5:42Speaker 2: oh my god, I had a horrible fever.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Both you and your husband both were sick. He spent
- 5:46Speaker 4: so we had to fly to Hawaii three days before
- 5:50Speaker 4: our wedding because you you have to get your marriage
- 5:52Speaker 4: license several days before the wedding. I didn't see him
- 5:56Speaker 4: the first three days we were there. He was in
- 5:58Speaker 4: the bathtub sick. For three days, and then I was sick.
- 6:02Speaker 4: The day of our wedding, I got up and did
- 6:05Speaker 4: a show with Carrie. That's how dedicated I was, got
- 6:09Speaker 4: up and did a show, was sick, and then we
- 6:11Speaker 4: spent our whole honeymoon in bed and not in the
- 6:13Speaker 4: way you're supposed to for your honeymoon.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Like we've we've said we've been married twenty.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Years, we've said, we need a redo of our honeymoon.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well let's put let's do it on the radio,
- 6:24Speaker 3: call in from wherever you go.
- 6:26Speaker 1: It was. It was interesting to do it my wife
- 6:30Speaker 1: and I guess one of my how many years ago?
- 6:34Speaker 2: Was that twenty years ago?
- 6:36Speaker 1: So that would have.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Been I think little missus Bill was with you, Little.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Bill, he's well, you know, he's twenty six. Yeah, maybe
- 6:45Speaker 1: they were both with us anyway, Yeah, no, no, no,
- 6:48Speaker 1: she was, so I think it was just anyway my
- 6:50Speaker 1: wife was. My wife was also sick during that trip.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Oh really.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah. She stayed in the condo most of the time. Bummer, Yeah,
- 6:59Speaker 1: I need a you. I felt great. I had a
- 7:03Speaker 1: good time.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I was scared on my wedding because it was snowing.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and yours was pandemic was outdoors.
- 7:09Speaker 3: It's just it was just out It was twenty two yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 3: so it's just but yes, it was outdoors, and you
- 7:14Speaker 3: guys were there, and Carrie saved part of the day
- 7:17Speaker 3: because he held up the lights that my whole group rant.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And it was actually really nice when it snowed. It
- 7:23Speaker 1: was kind of it looked a lot better when it snowed.
- 7:25Speaker 1: It was kind of cool. Yeah, uh and uh, and
- 7:28Speaker 1: then I don't remember. I don't think we stuck around
- 7:31Speaker 1: too long.
- 7:32Speaker 3: No, I wanted to get a picture with you guys,
- 7:34Speaker 3: but I got rushed into the bridal suite for a
- 7:36Speaker 3: minute because everybody was going to come bombard me, and
- 7:39Speaker 3: I tried really hard to just be like grab carry
- 7:41Speaker 3: billing a really fast. But I do have photo evidence
- 7:44Speaker 3: of all three of you being there.
- 7:45Speaker 2: There we're in the crowd.
- 7:48Speaker 1: So yeah, well listen, Katie, I will never try to
- 7:50Speaker 1: claim I wasn't there. I can't forget me.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I wasn't there, and you brought your wife.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yes, I can't foresee your time when I would say no,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I wasn't there.
- 7:58Speaker 3: So I was glad you get came, of course. Well
- 8:01Speaker 3: that started off as an email of interests sometimes.
- 8:06Speaker 2: You don't know where it's gonna go.
- 8:08Speaker 4: H
