- 0:21I'm so glad you could join us today.
- 0:23Let's say our motto. Repeat after me.
- 0:26I will tell my friends. I will.
- 0:27Tell my friends. So they can know God, so.
- 0:31They can know God. Here's something I know about
- 0:34God. God doesn't get mad at you when
- 0:36you do bad things. Oh man, I I really need your
- 0:41help. What's the matter, squeakers?
- 0:43Oh man, I'm afraid I've really done it this time.
- 0:46I can't sleep because I'm so upset.
- 0:49Well, what are you upset about? I.
- 0:51Did something really bad. I shouldn't have done it, but I
- 0:54was really hungry. What did you do?
- 0:58Well, apparently Stacey was making a sandwich.
- 1:03I think it's a good cheese. I think that's what you call
- 1:06them. A grilled cheese Well.
- 1:10Anyway, when she wasn't looking, I stored the cheese off her
- 1:14sandwich. I, I, I know I'm supposed to
- 1:17just eat the crumbs that far on the floor.
- 1:19Believe me, the dark Fitch, he's been beating me through them and
- 1:23I was really, really hungry. It's OK, squeakers, Stacy can
- 1:29just make another sandwich. Oh oh.
- 1:31She did. It's not her that I'm worried
- 1:33about. Well, what are you worried
- 1:35about? Do do you think God will forgive
- 1:37me? If I were God, I'd be so mad at
- 1:40me right now. The Bible says Jesus came to
- 1:43bring peace with God. Everyone does bad things
- 1:46sometimes, but God still loves them, and he still loves you,
- 1:50Squeakers. Oh, that.
- 1:51That's really good news. Yes, Casey.
- 1:53That's why the Bible is called good news.
- 1:56God is good all the time. OK.
- 1:58Well, thank you, Casey. Bye bye.
- 2:00Bye Squeakers. Hey kids, did you know that
- 2:05there are books about Chubby and Bree?
- 2:08They're available on Amazon and e-book and paperback formats.
- 2:22Up in a tree hanging down from above, a beehive busily buzzing
- 2:27God's Love. Papa Bee, Mama Bee, Chubby and
- 2:31Bree buzzing God's way. Take a look and you'll see
- 2:41Chubby buzzed home. His wings were all droopy.
- 2:44Chubby felt bad and his eyes looked soupy.
- 2:47Soupy from crying his tears in a puddle, he hid in his room, his
- 2:53head in a muddle. At suppertime, Mama, Papa and
- 2:57Bree buzzed around, wondering where.
- 3:00Could he? Be they looked in the honeypot
- 3:03looked in his bed, they looked around the tree and scratched
- 3:07their bee heads. They quietly thought.
- 3:11Then Papa heard something that made the thoughts stop.
- 3:15It was like a SOB from a heart broken Chubby.
- 3:20They called but nothing was spoken.
- 3:22They buzzed to his room for another good look and found
- 3:26Chubby crying under a book. Chubby Mama called.
- 3:32Please tell me what's wrong. Why are you crying?
- 3:36Have you been here long, Mama? SOB Chubby.
- 3:40I did something bad. I just can't stop crying and
- 3:44feeling so sad. While on my way home I pulled a
- 3:48singer. A little kid got pulled with my
- 3:52Stinger. I wasn't watching.
- 3:55It was an accident. The kids really hurt and my
- 3:59Stinger is banned. Accidents happen.
- 4:03Papa said with a smile. A Stinger that bent I've not
- 4:06seen in a while, Papa. Scolded Mama.
- 4:11You're no help at all, why don't you?
- 4:13And Bree just buzzed down the hall.
- 4:16You're missing the point if you think it's funny.
- 4:19Chubby's been crying. His bee nose is funny.
- 4:25So after they left, Mama looked at her bee.
- 4:28Why were you crying and hiding from me, not knowing what's
- 4:33wrong? How can I help you?
- 4:35Together, we'll figure out what we can do.
- 4:38Chubby spoke softly. Mama, I'm a good bee, but I'm
- 4:43worried that God might be mad at me.
- 4:45I should have been paying attention.
- 4:48Instead I stung that boy, stung him right in the head.
- 4:53I left him there crying, not sure what to do, but I should
- 4:57have prayed for him. Mama like you, chubby.
- 5:01Said Mama. God is not mad, it's true, even
- 5:05when we have been acting bad. God doesn't like it whenever we
- 5:10sin, but He always loves us again and again.
- 5:14Jesus was punished for your sins and mine.
- 5:17Because of Him, God loves us all the time.
- 5:22Now there is peace between God and men.
- 5:25That peace comes to us when we're born again.
- 5:29Chubby asked. Is it true God's not mad at me?
- 5:33Never. Said Mama most confidently.
- 5:37What about when we don't do things God's way even then?
- 5:42Mama answered. God doesn't sway, but it's never
- 5:45too late to do the right thing. Mama smiled at Chubby.
- 5:49You know what I mean? Without thinking, Chubby started
- 5:54to pray. Little boy be healed and pain go
- 5:57away in Jesus name. Chubby added.
- 6:02Amen. I'm thankful for God's peace and
- 6:06goodwill to men. Casey, I think I'm going crazy.
- 6:17Why? I made myself a grilled cheese
- 6:19sandwich and when I sat down to eat it, there was no cheese.
- 6:23You can't have a grilled cheese sandwich without cheese.
- 6:27Oh well, what did you do? I made another one, only this
- 6:32time I put 2 pieces of cheese on it just in case.
- 6:35Oh, OK. Oh, I brought you this.
- 6:38It's a can of peas. I know.
- 6:41What am I supposed to do with a can of peas?
- 6:44I don't know, I thought you could use it to teach the lesson
- 6:46today. Why would I want a can of peas
- 6:49to teach the lesson? Well, when you talk to the kids
- 6:52about how Jesus brings peas with God.
- 6:56He doesn't bring peas. Jesus brings peace.
- 6:59Oh. Like a piece of pie.
- 7:02No peace like God is with you and he's not mad at you.
- 7:06That kind of peace. Are you getting mad at me?
- 7:09No. Then why are you yelling at me?
- 7:11I'm not. Yelling.
- 7:12Yes, you are. You think I'm crazy, don't you?
- 7:17Why would I think you're crazy? Because first I made a grilled
- 7:21cheese sandwich with no cheese on it.
- 7:22Then I thought Jesus came to bring us peace.
- 7:25I don't think you're crazy, Stacy.
- 7:28The cheese sandwich wasn't your fault.
- 7:30Squeakers was hungry and took the cheese off your sandwich
- 7:33when you weren't looking. Well, thanks for telling me,
- 7:36I'll wait till I find that mouse.
- 7:40Sounds like Stacy could use some of the peace that Jesus brought.
- 7:46Have you ever watched a movie where there's armies and they're
- 7:49fighting and then they give up, they surrender, They hold up
- 7:52this big white flag and they wave it around and they say I
- 7:55surrender. I don't want to fight anymore, I
- 7:58want peace. Well, that's what God did when
- 8:02he sent Jesus. God sent Jesus to be our peace.
- 8:08Today's memory verse is Acts 1036.
- 8:12There is peace with God through Jesus Christ.
- 8:16Can you say that with me there is peace with God?
- 8:20Through Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ.
- 8:25I thought it would be a good idea to visit my friend Colonel
- 8:28Culpepper. He used to be in the British
- 8:31Army. Hi, Colonel Culpepper.
- 8:34Cheerio Casey. What a pleasant surprise.
- 8:36Yes, indeed. Is that a white flag?
- 8:39That it is Casey. It's my white flag for my days
- 8:42in the Army. Is that the flag of your
- 8:45country? Heavens no, my dear boy, our
- 8:48flag is red, white and blue much like yours.
- 8:51We don't have stars and stripes like you though.
- 8:54Ours is a Red Cross with an X outlined in white on a blue
- 8:58background. So what's the white flag for?
- 9:01A white flag is a flag of surrender.
- 9:04We carried a white flag with us into battle for times when we
- 9:08were too hurt to fight any longer.
- 9:10We would wave the white flags so our opponent would know we
- 9:13wanted to stop fighting, that we wanted to Brenda, that we wanted
- 9:17peace. Did you ever use it?
- 9:20Never in battle, but I did wave it at once in this very room.
- 9:24Yes, indeed. Were you fighting with your
- 9:27wife? No, no, of course, nothing like
- 9:31that. I waved at once to let God know
- 9:34I was surrendering my life to Him.
- 9:37Look, here's the date I gave my heart to Jesus.
- 9:41I wrote it on the corner of this flag.
- 9:45December 23rd, 1979. That was before I was born.
- 9:52Well, I suppose it was Casey. So are we supposed to wave a
- 9:57white flag when we want to give our hearts to Jesus?
- 10:00That isn't at all necessary. In fact, Jesus is your white
- 10:04flag. That reminds me of a story.
- 10:07Tell us, Colonel Culpepper, we love stories.
- 10:10The very first time Mary and Joseph took Jesus to church, he
- 10:13was a little baby, just eight days old, and an old man named
- 10:19Simeon asked to hold baby Jesus. So Mary handed him to Simeon
- 10:24while Simeon held baby Jesus in his arms.
- 10:27He said. I have seen the one who will
- 10:31save people from their sins. How did Simeon know?
- 10:36God had promised Simeon he would see the Savior before he died.
- 10:40The Holy Spirit told Simeon that this baby Jesus was the one who
- 10:45came to bring peace with God. So when we ask Jesus into our
- 10:50hearts, we are surrendering our lives to God.
- 10:54That's right, Jesus is our white flag, our flag of surrender.
- 11:00There is peace with God through Jesus Christ.
- 11:03Acts 1036. That's good to know.
- 11:07Thanks, Colonel Culpepper. Come again KC anytime.
- 11:16Let's get our hearts and minds ready to learn today's Bible
- 11:19verse. Stacy is crazy.
- 11:24She's throwing canned peas everywhere.
- 11:29I better stop her. Someone could get hurt if they
- 11:31get hit by that can. She's not throwing the can.
- 11:35She opened the can and started throwing the peas at Squeakers.
- 11:39He's running all over the place to get away.
- 11:42You're right, she is crazy. Mom is not going to be happy
- 11:46when she sees the mess. OK kids, today's verse is found
- 11:51in Acts 10. 30. Six, there is peace with God
- 11:56through Jesus Christ. Let's say it together, boys and
- 12:00girls. There is peace with God.
- 12:02There is. Peace with God.
- 12:04Through Jesus Christ. Through Jesus.
- 12:07Christ, are they canned peas? What you said there is peas with
- 12:13God. Are they canned peas?
- 12:16We didn't say peas, we said peace.
- 12:19Oh, like a piece of pie. No, not a piece of pie.
- 12:25Well, you don't have to yell. I'm sorry, I yelled.
- 12:29Is it a piece of cake? It's peace like God is with you
- 12:33and he's not mad at you, that kind of peace.
- 12:36Oh, there is peace with God through beans and rice.
- 12:42Beans and. Rice.
- 12:45Wait, that doesn't sound right, does it?
- 12:48Let's say it again, kids, there is peace with God.
- 12:51There is peace with God. Through Jesus Christ, through.
- 12:55Jesus Christ. Oh, I get it now.
- 12:59Acts 1036. There is peace with God through
- 13:04Jesus Christ. Acts. 1036.
- 13:08There is peace with God through Jesus Christ.
- 13:14That's right. Good job, Brain.
- 13:17Thanks, Heart. Now it's time for today's Bible
- 13:20story. I can't wait to hear it.
- 13:22And I can't. Wait to do it.
- 13:25It's the hearer and the doer of God's Word who's blessed.
- 13:42When Jesus was eight days old, Barry and Joseph took him to the
- 13:46temple in Jerusalem. God sent a man named Simeon to
- 13:50meet them there so he could see Jesus.
- 13:54Well, we've named him. Jesus and we've.
- 13:57Offered him to God. So let's.
- 13:59Go home. The Holy Spirit has led me here
- 14:03today to meet this baby. May I see him, God.
- 14:08I can die in peace now because I have seen the Messiah.
- 14:12Did you just say? Die in peace like canned.
- 14:16Peace. What are you hard of hearing?
- 14:19I said. Peace like a piece of pie.
- 14:22Or cake. No, it's the God is with you and
- 14:26he's not mad at you anymore kind of peace.
- 14:29Oh God, I have seen your salvation with my own eyes.
- 14:35He will be a light to shine on everyone.
- 14:38Oh, look at this baby. He's the Messiah.
- 14:44Give thanks with a grateful heart.
- 14:49Give thanks to the Holy One. Give thanks because he's given
- 14:57Jesus Christ his Son. And now let the weak say I am
- 15:07strong, let the poor say I am rich because of what the Lord
- 15:16has done for us. Give.
- 15:23Thanks. I'm going to go tell everyone
- 15:27that the Son of God has been born.
- 15:31Who was that? That was Anna, she has been
- 15:34praying for the Messiah to be born every day for 84 years.
- 15:40I'll leave you to go in peace now.
- 15:43Joseph what? Does all of.
- 15:44This mean? Remember the Angel?
- 15:46Said Jesus. Would save the people from their
- 15:48sins. So now.
- 15:50People can be at. Peace with God.
- 15:52Peace with God. Not canned.
- 15:54Peace. Not peace like a piece of pie or
- 15:57cake. Peace.
- 15:58Like God is. With you and he's not mad at
- 16:00you. That kind of peace.
- 16:08I'm so glad God doesn't get mad at me when I do something wrong.
- 16:12God sent Jesus so that we could have peace with God.
- 16:16All we have to do to live at peace is ask Jesus to come into
- 16:20our heart. If you want to ask Jesus to come
- 16:22live in your heart, then I want to pray with you, dear God.
- 16:27Dear God. Thanks for sending Jesus.
- 16:29Thanks for sending. Jesus to die for my.
- 16:32Sins to die for my sins Jesus come into my heart Jesus come
- 16:36into my heart be the boss of my life be.
- 16:42The boss of my life. In Jesus name In Jesus name,
- 16:47Amen. Amen.
- 16:51Did you know that the Bible says that God hates bad things?
- 16:55Some people get so confused by this that they think that God
- 16:58hates them because they've done bad things.
- 17:02But that's not true. I've done bad things, but God
- 17:05loves me and God loves you. In fact, he loves us so much
- 17:11that he sent Jesus to be our peace.
- 17:16And when we've done bad things, having Jesus has allowed us to
- 17:20go before God and say, Dear God, I'm sorry for what I've done,
- 17:25please forgive me. And he does because he loves
- 17:29you. But in order to receive his
- 17:32forgiveness, we must first receive his peace.
- 17:36We must first receive Jesus. If you've never asked Jesus to
- 17:42come into your heart and I want to pray with you, repeat after
- 17:46me, say dear God, thank you for sending Jesus to die for my
- 17:53sins. Jesus come into my heart, be my
- 18:00boss, be my saviour. Forgive me of all bad things in
- 18:09Jesus name, Amen. Time for spiritual exercises.
- 18:17Everyone. Stand up on your feet.
- 18:18Here we go. You ready?
- 18:20Repeat after me. Stretch it up real high.
- 18:24I love the Lord I. Love the Lord.
- 18:27With all my heart. With all my heart.
- 18:30Now show me your muscles. God is good.
- 18:34God is good. All the time.
- 18:37All the time. I'm not afraid.
- 18:41I'm not afraid. God is with me.
- 18:43God. Is with.
- 18:44Me good. Now show me your Superman pose
- 18:49by Jesus stripes. By Jesus stripes.
- 18:53I am healed. Nice work.
- 18:56Now these are my favorite. Kinky push ups.
- 18:59Up, down, up, down. I love others.
- 19:04I love others like Jesus loves me.
- 19:07Like Jesus loves me. That was a good workout.
- 19:11All right, let's cool it down. Let's stretch it out.
- 19:16I obey my parents. I obey my.
- 19:19Parents for this please for it. Pleases God.
- 19:23Whoa, good job, kids. Now just shake it out.
- 19:25Shake it out. Turn around if you want.
- 19:30Good job, kids. I'm proud of you.
- 19:34OK, so Jesus came to be our white flag.
- 19:37What flag? Not what flag?
- 19:40White flag. You know, like I surrender.
- 19:43I don't want to fight no more. Let's just get along and be
- 19:45nice. Maybe it's because I'm a fish,
- 19:48but I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 19:51OK, you listen to me. When Jesus was a baby, Mary and
- 19:56Joseph took him to church and everybody was like, oh, let me
- 19:59see your baby. He's so cute, you know?
- 20:02OK, so far I'm following you. All right, but this one old man
- 20:06Simone, when he sees Jesus, he's like Mamma Mia.
- 20:10I have seen the one who will save the people from their sins.
- 20:14How did that guy know Jesus was the savior?
- 20:18Right, so I think God must have told him or something.
- 20:21Right. Or Joseph was wearing AT shirt
- 20:24that says my boy can beat up the devil.
- 20:27I don't think so. And this old lady Anna, well,
- 20:30she's got a really big mouth. You know what?
- 20:32Because she starts telling everybody about Jesus and his
- 20:35white diaper. I think you mean white flag.
- 20:40What did I say? You said diaper.
- 20:43Why would I say diaper man? Anyway, I get it now.
- 20:47The word for. Today makes sense.
- 20:49What's the word for today? The word for today?
- 20:51Is peace. Peace.
- 20:54That don't make no sense. It makes perfect sense.
- 20:58Don't you know what peace is? I know what peace is.
- 21:02Really use it in a sentence. After the battle of the Alamo
- 21:06General Santana walked around looking and then he drops to one
- 21:09knee and he says at last I have found some peace.
- 21:14Does anyone have a can opener? Wait, what?
- 21:17No, I can peace. The word for today is peace.
- 21:21Peace. Oh well then the general says to
- 21:24his men. He says I would really like a
- 21:27piece of cake right now. No, not peace like a piece of
- 21:31cake. Peace like God is always with
- 21:34you and he's not mad at you. That kind of peace.
- 21:38Really. Oh, I messed that up man.
- 22:03Casey, do you know what my favorite part of the clubhouse
- 22:07was today? No what?
- 22:09I don't have to eat vegetables because they're not from God.
- 22:14Fuzzy, where did you get that idea?
- 22:16From you, you said Jesus came to give us peace, not peace.
- 22:20Yeah, that's right. And I don't have any peace when
- 22:24I have to eat peas or carrots or broccoli or any other vegetable.
- 22:29Fuzzy, is that all you learned today?
- 22:31Nope, I learned how to make a handkerchief dance.
- 22:35How do you make a handkerchief dance?
- 22:40You put a little boogie in it. That's not what we learned in
- 22:45the clubhouse, Fuzzy. And you do have to eat your
- 22:48vegetables. Oh well.
- 22:51So what kind of peace does Jesus give us?
- 22:53It's the kind of peace where God is always with you and he's
- 22:56never mad at you. Even if I do bad things.
- 23:00Even if you do bad things, what kind of bad things do you do,
- 23:05Fuzzy? Well, sometimes I don't do what
- 23:08my mom tells me to do, like when she says quit running around and
- 23:12pick up your toys and it's time to go to bed.
- 23:15Well, we should obey our parents, Fuzzy.
- 23:18Just remember Acts 1036. There is peace with God through
- 23:23Jesus Christ. Can you say that Fuzzy?
- 23:26There is peace with God through Jesus Christ.
- 23:30Acts 1036. Very good.
- 23:33Now say goodbye, Fuzzy. Goodbye, Fuzzy.
- 23:38Goodbye kids, see you next time at the Jesus and Me Clubhouse.
- 23:45See you back again at Casey's Clubhouse.
- 23:49It's the place. We learn God's word.
- 23:52Till we meet again at Casey's clubhouse, let's be doers of
- 23:57what we've heard. Did you know that the Bible says
- 24:05that God hates bad things? Some people get so confused by
- 24:10this that they think that God hates them because they've done
- 24:14bad things. But that's not true.
- 24:17I've done bad things, but God loves me and God loves you.
- 24:22In fact, he loves us so much that he sent Jesus to be our
- 24:27peace. And when we've done bad things,
- 24:31having Jesus has allowed us to go before God and say, Dear God,
- 24:36I'm sorry for what I've done, please forgive me.
- 24:40And he does because he loves you.
- 24:44But in order to receive his forgiveness, we must first
- 24:48receive his peace. We must first receive Jesus.
- 24:53If you've never asked Jesus to come into your heart, and I want
- 24:57to pray with you, repeat after me, say, dear God, thank you for
- 25:03sending Jesus to die for my sins.
- 25:09Jesus come into my heart, be my boss, be my saviour.
- 25:18Forgive me of all bad things in Jesus name, Amen.
