- 0:31Welcome back. Listeners, to Sandman stories,
- 0:33presents. A folklore podcast, I read you
- 0:36to sleep or until the next story.
- 0:39I'm your host Dustin. Today, we are back in Bengal
- 0:43with the stories of Lao bihari day.
- 0:47This one is an epic about a beautiful daughter of a poor
- 0:50woman and the King wanting kids. It is a whole epic, and 25 pages
- 0:56long. So I will tell you a few Bengali
- 0:58words and get started. Some words to no tataki and
- 1:03Cacciatore the kinds of plants and pucks.
- 1:05You dodge means the king of birds and was a group of very
- 1:09fast running horses. And of course, rakshasas are
- 1:13people eating demons with lots of special powers.
- 1:18Okay, let's begin. The boy with the moon on his
- 1:23forehead. There was a certain King who had
- 1:28six Queens, none of whom board children.
- 1:32Physicians, holy sages medicaments, and all sorts of
- 1:35prognosticators were consulted. Countless drugs were given, but
- 1:39all to no purpose. The King was inconsolable, his
- 1:45ministers told him to marry a seventh wife and he was
- 1:48accordingly on the lookout. In the world city, there were
- 1:52lived, a poor old woman who used to pick up the cow, dung from
- 1:55the fields, make it into cakes, dry them in the Sun and sell
- 1:59them for fuel in the market. This was her only means of
- 2:03subsistence this old woman had a daughter who was exquisitely,
- 2:08beautiful, her beauty excited, the admiration of everyone that
- 2:12saw her and it was solely in consequence of her surpassing
- 2:15beauty. That three young ladies above
- 2:17her and rank and station made friendship with her.
- 2:21Those three young ladies were the daughter of the king's
- 2:23Minister, the daughter of a wealthy Merchant and the
- 2:26daughter of the royal priest. These three young ladies
- 2:30together with the daughter of the poor old woman.
- 2:33Were one day bathing in a tank. Not far from the palace.
- 2:37As they were performing their Washings each dwelt on her own
- 2:40good qualities. Look here sister said, The
- 2:45Minister's daughter addressing the Merchant's daughter.
- 2:48The man that marries me will be a happy man for he will not have
- 2:52to buy clothes for me. The clothes which I wear.
- 2:55Never get old. Never gets oiled and Never Tear.
- 3:00The Merchant's daughter said and my husband to will be a happy
- 3:03man for the fuel in which I use in cooking never turns into
- 3:07ashes, the same fuel serves day after day year after year.
- 3:13And my husband will also become a happy man.
- 3:16So the daughter of the royal chaplain for the rice, which I
- 3:18cook one day, never runs out and after we have eaten our film,
- 3:22the same amount that was first. Cooked always remains in the
- 3:25pot. The daughter of the poor old
- 3:28woman said in her tongue and the man who marries me will also be
- 3:32happy for. I shall give birth to Twin
- 3:35children a son and a daughter. The daughter will be divinely.
- 3:39Fair and the sun will have the moon on his forehead and stars
- 3:42in the palms of his hands. The above conversation was
- 3:48overheard by the king who as he was on the lookout for a second.
- 3:51Queen used to skulk about in places where women get together.
- 3:56The king thought in his mind. I don't care a straw.
- 3:59For the girls, whose clothes never Terror.
- 4:01Never get old. Neither, do I care for the other
- 4:04girl whose fuel is never consumed?
- 4:07Nor for the third girl? Whose rice never fails in the
- 4:10pot. But the fourth girl is quite
- 4:14Charming. She will give birth to Twin
- 4:16children a son and a daughter. The daughter will be divinely.
- 4:20Fair in the sun will have the moon on his forehead and stars
- 4:23in the palms of his hands. That is the girl I want.
- 4:27I'll make her my wife. I'm making inquiries on the same
- 4:33day. The King founded.
- 4:34The fourth girl was the daughter of the poor old woman who picked
- 4:37up a cow dung from the fields. But even though there was an
- 4:41infinite disparity and rank, he was determined to marry her.
- 4:47On the very same day, he sent for the poor old woman.
- 4:51She poor thing was quite frightened when she saw
- 4:54messenger of the king standing at the door of her Hut.
- 4:58She thought that the king had sent for her to punish her
- 5:01because perhaps she had some day, unwittingly picked up the
- 5:04dung of the Kings cattle. She went to the palace and was
- 5:08admitted into the king's private chamber.
- 5:11The king asked her, whether she had a very fair daughter and
- 5:14whether that daughter was the friend of his own ministers and
- 5:17Priests daughters. When the woman answered in the
- 5:20affirmative he said to her. I will marry your daughter and
- 5:24make her my queen. The woman.
- 5:26Could hardly believe her own ears.
- 5:29The thing was so strange. He however, solemnly declared to
- 5:33her that he had made up his mind and was determined to marry her
- 5:37daughter? It was soon known in the capital
- 5:40that the King was going to marry the daughter of the old woman
- 5:43who picked up cow dung in the fields.
- 5:46When the six Queens heard the news, they would not believe it
- 5:50until the king himself told him that the news was true.
- 5:54They thought that the king had somehow gone mad, they reasoned
- 5:58with him. Thus what, Folly what Madness to
- 6:02marry, a girl who is not fit to be our maid servant, and you
- 6:06expect us to treat her as are equal.
- 6:09A girl, whose mother goes about picking up cow dung in the
- 6:12fields, surely my Lord, you're beside yourself.
- 6:18The king's purpose. However, remained on shaken, the
- 6:21Royal astrologer was called and an auspicious day, was fixed for
- 6:25the celebration of the Kings marriage.
- 6:28On the appointed day, the Royal priest tied, the marital knot
- 6:31and the daughter of the poor old woman who picked up cow dung in
- 6:34the fields, became the seventh and best beloved Queen.
- 6:39Sometime after the celebration of the marriage, the king went
- 6:42for six months to another part of his dominions.
- 6:45Before setting out, he called the seventh Queen and said to
- 6:48her, I am going away to another part of my dominions for six
- 6:52months before the expiration of that period, I expect you to be
- 6:56in bed, giving birth to our child.
- 7:00But I would like to be with you at that time as your enemies,
- 7:03may do Mischief. Take this Golden Bell and hang
- 7:07it in your room when the Pains of childbirth come upon you ring
- 7:10this Bell and I will be with you in a moment in whatever part of
- 7:14my dominions, I might be at the time.
- 7:17Remember, you are to ring the bell.
- 7:20Only when you feel the Pains of childbirth. after saying this
- 7:24the king started on his journey, 26 Queen's would overheard the
- 7:29king went on the next day to the apartments of the seventh Queen
- 7:32and said, what a nice Bell of gold.
- 7:34You've got sister, where did you get it?
- 7:37And why do you have it hung up? The seventh Queen and her
- 7:41Simplicity said the King has given it to me and if I were to
- 7:45ring it, the king would immediately come to me wherever
- 7:48he might be at the time. Impossible.
- 7:52So the six Queens you must have misunderstood the king who could
- 7:56believe that this belt can be heard at a distance of hundreds
- 7:59of miles, besides, if it could be heard, how would the king be
- 8:04able to travel a great distance in the twinkling of an eye?
- 8:07This must be a hoax. If you ring the bell, you will
- 8:11find that what the king said was pure nonsense. the Queensland
- 8:16told her to make a trial At first she was unwilling,
- 8:20remembering what the king had told her, but at last she was
- 8:23provoked into ringing the bell The King was at that moment,
- 8:28halfway to the capital of his other dominions, but at the
- 8:30ringing of the Bell, he stopped short in his journey turned
- 8:34back. And in no time stood in the
- 8:36Queens apartments. Finding the queen going about in
- 8:39her rooms. He asked her.
- 8:41Why? She had rung?
- 8:41The Bell though. Her hour had not yet?
- 8:43Come She without informing the king of the entreaty of the six
- 8:48Queens replied that she rang the bell only to see whether what
- 8:51the king had said was true. The King was somewhat indignant.
- 8:57He told her distinctly not to run the Bell again to the
- 9:00moment. Her childbearing pains came and
- 9:02then went away. After the lapse of some weeks,
- 9:07the six Queens, again bug the seventh Queen to make a second
- 9:10trial of the Bell. They said to her the first time
- 9:13when you rang the bell, the King was only a short distance from
- 9:16you. It was therefore easy for him to
- 9:18hear the bell and come to you. But now he has long ago settled
- 9:22in his other Capital. Let us see if he will now hear
- 9:25the bell and come to you. She resisted for a long time but
- 9:31was it last provoked by them to ring the bell?
- 9:34When the sound of the Bell reached the king, he was in the
- 9:36court, dispensing justice. But when he heard the sound of
- 9:39the bell and no one else heard it, he closed the Cork and in no
- 9:43time, stood in the Queens apartments.
- 9:46Finding that the queen was not about to be confined.
- 9:48He again asked her why she had rung the Bell before her hour?
- 9:52She without saying anything of the pressures of the other six
- 9:55Queens, reply that she merely made a second trial of the Bell.
- 9:59The king became very angry and said to her.
- 10:03Now, listen since you have called me twice for nothing.
- 10:06Let it be known to you that when the throes of childbirth do
- 10:09really come upon you and you ring the bell ever so lustily, I
- 10:13will not come to you. You must be left to your fate.
- 10:18The king then went away. At last, the day of the 7th
- 10:22Queens, Deliverance arrived on first feeling the pain, she rang
- 10:26the Golden Bell, she waited. But the king did not make his
- 10:29appearance. She rang again with all her
- 10:32might still the king, did not make his appearance.
- 10:36The king certainly did hear the sound of the Bell, but he did
- 10:39not come as he was displeased with the queen.
- 10:42When the six Queens saw the king did not come.
- 10:45They went to the seventh Queen and told her that it was not
- 10:48customary. For the ladies of the palace to
- 10:50be confined in the Kings Apartments, she must go to a Hut
- 10:53near The Stables. They then sent for a midwife of
- 10:57the palace and heavily bribed her to take away the infant.
- 11:00The moment it was born into the world.
- 11:03The seventh Queen gave birth to a son who had the moon on his
- 11:06forehead and stars on the palms of his hands.
- 11:10Also to an uncommonly beautiful girl, the Midwife came with a
- 11:14couple newborn pups she put the pups before.
- 11:18The mother saying you have given birth to these and took the twin
- 11:21children away in an Earthen vessel.
- 11:25The queen was quite Delirious at the time.
- 11:28Did not notice that the twins were carried away.
- 11:31The king though, he was angry with the seventh Queen yet
- 11:34remembering that she was destined to give birth to the
- 11:37error of his throne changed his mind and came to see her the
- 11:40next morning. The pups will produce before the
- 11:43king as The Offspring of the Queen, the Kings anger and
- 11:47vexation knew no bounds. He ordered that, the seventh
- 11:51Queen should be expelled from the palace that she should be
- 11:53closed in leather, and that she should be employed in the
- 11:56marketplace to drive away crows and to keep off the dogs.
- 12:02Though, scarcely able to move, she was driven away from the
- 12:05palace. Stripped of her fine, robes,
- 12:07clothing, leather, and set to drive away, the crows of the
- 12:10marketplace The Midwife, when she put the twins in the Earthen
- 12:14vessel thought of the best way to destroy them.
- 12:17She did not think it proper to throw them into a tank us.
- 12:20They should be discovered. The next day.
- 12:22Neither did she think of bearing them in the ground?
- 12:25Let's they should be dug up by a jack on exposed to the Gaze of
- 12:28people. The best way to get rid of them,
- 12:31she thought would be to burn them and reduce them to ashes so
- 12:35that no trace of them might be found.
- 12:38But how could she at that dead hour of the night burn them,
- 12:42without some other person helping her A happy thought
- 12:45struck her. There was a Potter on the
- 12:48outskirts of the city who during the day, molded vessels of Clay
- 12:51on his wheel and burned them during the latter part of the
- 12:54night. The Midwife thought that the
- 12:58best plan would be to put the vessel with the twins, along
- 13:01with the unburnt clay vessels, which the Potter had arranged
- 13:04and gone to sleep expecting to get up late in the night and set
- 13:07them on fire. In this way, she thought the
- 13:11twins would be reduced to ashes. She accordingly put the vessel
- 13:16with the twins. Along with the unburnt clay
- 13:18vessels of the Potter and went away.
- 13:21Somehow or another that night, the Potter and his wife
- 13:24overslept, it was near the break of day when The Potters wife
- 13:29Awakening out of her sleep roused, her husband and said, oh
- 13:32my good man, we have overslept. It is now near morning knife
- 13:36here. Now it is too late to set the
- 13:38pots on fire. He slowly, unbolting, the door
- 13:42of her Cottage. She rushed out to the place
- 13:44where the pots were arranged in rows.
- 13:47She could scarcely believe her eyes when she saw that.
- 13:50All the pots have been baked. And we're looking bright red
- 13:53though. Neither, She nor her husband had
- 13:55applied, any fire to them? Wondering at her good luck and
- 14:00not knowing what to make of it. She ran to her husband and said,
- 14:04just come and see. The Potter came saw and wondered
- 14:11the pots had never before. Been so well-baked who could
- 14:14have done this. This could have proceeded only
- 14:17from some god or goddess. Fumbling about in the pots, he
- 14:21accidentally up. Turn one in which low and behold
- 14:24were seen huddled up together. Two newly born, infants of
- 14:28unearthly beauty. The Potter said to his wife, my
- 14:33dear, you must pretend to have given birth to these beautiful
- 14:36children accordingly. All Arrangements were made and
- 14:40in due time, it was given out that the twins have been born to
- 14:43her and such lovely twins. They were on the same day, many
- 14:48women of the neighborhood came to see The Potter's White and
- 14:50the twins to which he had given birth and to offer their
- 14:53congratulations on this unexpected.
- 14:55Good Fortune. As for the Potter's wife, she
- 15:00cannot be too proud of her potential German and said to her
- 15:03admiring friends. I have hardly hoped to have any
- 15:05children at all but now that the gods have given me, these twins,
- 15:09may they receive the blessings of you all and live forever.
- 15:15The twins, grew, and grew and grew, until they were very
- 15:18strong. The brother and sister played
- 15:20about in the fields in Lanes, they were the admiration of all,
- 15:24who saw them and all wondered at the uncommonly.
- 15:26Good luck of the Potter being blessed, with such angelic
- 15:29children, Care about 12 years old, when the Potter, the
- 15:34reputed father became dangerously ill.
- 15:37It was evident to all that, his sickness would end in his death.
- 15:42The Potter perceiving his last and approaching said to his
- 15:45wife, my dear I'm going the way of all upon the Earth but I am
- 15:50leaving you enough to live on stay strong and take care of
- 15:54these children. The woman said to her husband, I
- 15:57am not going to survive. You like all strong loves.
- 16:01I'm fated to die along with you, my heart cannot survive.
- 16:05Losing you? You and I will burn together on
- 16:08the same funeral pyre. As for the children, they are
- 16:12old enough to take care of themselves and you are leaving
- 16:14them enough money. Her friends tried to dissuade
- 16:18her from her purpose but in vain the Potter died.
- 16:22And as his remains were being burnt his wife now, a Widow died
- 16:26in front of the funeral pyre and was then burnt herself.
- 16:30The boy, with the moon on his forehead, who always kept his
- 16:33head covered with a turban less, his Halo should attract notice,
- 16:36and his sister. Now, broke up the Potter shop,
- 16:39sold, the wheel and pots, and pans and went to the Bazaar in
- 16:42the King City. the moment they entered the bazaar was lit up,
- 16:47all of a sudden The shopkeepers of the bizarre were greatly
- 16:52surprised. They thought some Divine beings
- 16:54must have entered the place. They looked upon the beautiful
- 16:57boy and his sister with wonder, they beg them to stay in the
- 17:01bazaar. They built a house for them.
- 17:04When they used to go out on walks, they were always followed
- 17:07at a distance by a woman clothed in leather, Who was appointed by
- 17:10the king to drive away, the crows from the bazaar.
- 17:14By some unaccountable impulse. She also used to hang about the
- 17:17house in which they live. The boy in a short time bought a
- 17:22horse and went to hunting in the neighboring Forest.
- 17:26One day while he was hunting, the King was also hunting in the
- 17:29same forest and seeing a brother Huntsman the king Drew near him.
- 17:34The King was struck with the beauty of the lad and had a
- 17:36yearning for him. The moment, he saw him as a
- 17:39deer, went past the youth shot, an arrow and the reaction of the
- 17:43force necessary to shoot the arrow, with the turban, fall off
- 17:46his head after which a bright light like that of the moon was
- 17:50seem shining on his forehead. The king saw in immediately
- 17:54thought of the sun with the moon on his forehead and stars in the
- 17:57palms of his hands who was to have been born to the seventh
- 18:00Queen. The youth on letting the arrow
- 18:03fly galloped off in spite of an Earnest entreaty of the king to
- 18:07wait and speak with him. The king went home.
- 18:10A satyr man that he had come out of it.
- 18:13He became very moody and Melancholy, the six Queens asked
- 18:16him why he was looking so sad. He told him that he had seen in
- 18:20the woods, a lad with the moon on his forehead, which reminded
- 18:23him of the son who is to be born of the seventh Queen The six
- 18:28Queens tried to comfort him in the best way they could, but
- 18:30they wondered who the youth could be, was it possible that
- 18:33the twins were living? Did not the Midwife say that?
- 18:36She had burnt both the Son and the daughter to ashes?
- 18:39Who then could the slab be. The Midwife was sent for by the
- 18:44six queens and questioned she swore that she had seen the
- 18:47twins burnt as for the lad, whom the king had met with.
- 18:51She would soon find out who he was.
- 18:55I'm making enquiries the Midwife soon, found out the two.
- 18:57Strangers were living in the bizarre and a house which the
- 19:00shopkeepers had built for them. She entered the house and saw
- 19:04the girl only has lad had gone out again and shooting.
- 19:09She pretended to be there at would gone away to another part
- 19:12of the country shortly after their birth.
- 19:15She had been searching after them for a long time and was now
- 19:18glad to find them in the King City near the palace.
- 19:21She greatly admired, the beauty of the girl and said, to her, my
- 19:25dear child. You are so beautiful.
- 19:28You require the ketaki flower to properly set off your beauty.
- 19:32You should tell your brother to plant a row of that flower.
- 19:35In this Courtyard. What flower is that Aunty?
- 19:39I've never seen it. How could you have seen it?
- 19:42My child is not found here. It grows on the other side of
- 19:46the ocean guarded by 700 rakshasas.
- 19:49How then will my brother? Get it said the girl, he may try
- 19:53to get it if you speak with him replied the woman.
- 19:56The Woman made this proposal in the hope that the boy with the
- 19:59moon on his forehead, would perish in the attempt to get the
- 20:02flower. When the youth with the moon
- 20:05eyes forehead returned from hunting, his sister told him of
- 20:08the visit paid to her by the aunt and requested if possible
- 20:11to get her the ketaki flower. He was skeptical about the
- 20:15existence of any Aunt of those in the world but he resolved
- 20:19that to please his beloved sister, he would get the flower
- 20:21on which she had set her heart. The next morning accordingly, he
- 20:26started on his journey after bidding.
- 20:28His sister not to stir out of the house until his return He
- 20:33wrote on his Fleet Steed which was of the pakshi Raj tribe.
- 20:36And soon reached the outskirts of what seemed to him, dense,
- 20:39forests of interminable length. He observes some rakshasas
- 20:44prowling about, he went to some distance shot with his Arrow,
- 20:48some deer, and some rhinoceroses in the neighboring thickets and
- 20:52approaching the place, where the rakshasas were prowling about
- 20:55called out. Oh, Auntie dear.
- 20:58Oh Auntie dear. Your nephew is here.
- 21:02A huge Rock chassis came towards him and said, oh, you are the
- 21:07Youth of the moon on your forehead and the stars on the
- 21:10palms of your hands. We were all expecting you but as
- 21:15you have called me on I will not eat you up.
- 21:18What is it? You want have you brought any
- 21:21food for me? The youth gave her the deer
- 21:24rhinoceroses, which he had killed her mouth watered at the
- 21:28site of the dead animals and she began eating them.
- 21:32After swallowing up the carcasses bones and all she
- 21:35said, well, what do you want? Do you said I want some Kentucky
- 21:41flowers for my sister? She then told him that it would
- 21:45be difficult for him to get the flower.
- 21:47As it was guarded by 700 rakshasas.
- 21:50However, he might make the attempt, but in the first
- 21:53instance, he must go to his uncle on the north side of that
- 21:56Forest. While the youth was going to his
- 21:59uncle of the north, on the way, he killed some deer and
- 22:01rhinoceroses and seeing a gigantic rock Shots at some
- 22:05distance. Cried Out, Uncle dear Uncle,
- 22:08dear your nephew is here and he has sent me to you.
- 22:13The rakshasa came nearer and said, you are the Youth of the
- 22:17moon on your forehead and stars on the palms of your hands.
- 22:23I would have swallowed you out. Right.
- 22:25Had you not called me uncle and had you not said that.
- 22:28Your aunt had sent me now. What is it?
- 22:31You want. The Savory deer and rhinoceroses
- 22:35were then presented to him. He ate them all and then listen
- 22:39to the petition of the youth. The youth wanted the ketaki
- 22:43flower, the rakshasa said you want the ketaki flower very
- 22:49well, try and get it if you can. After passing through this
- 22:53Forest, you will come to an impenetrable Forest of the
- 22:56Cheery. You will say to that Forest.
- 22:59Oh, mother could Sherry please make way for me or else.
- 23:02I die on that. The forest will open up a
- 23:06passage for you. You will next come to the ocean,
- 23:09you will say to the ocean. Oh, mother ocean, please make
- 23:13away from me or else I die. And the ocean will make a way
- 23:17for you. After crossing the ocean, you
- 23:20enter the gardens with a kotaki blooms goodbye do as I have told
- 23:25you Do you think his raksasa uncle and went on his way?
- 23:32After he had passed through the forest, he saw before him and
- 23:34impenetrable Forest of kids cheering.
- 23:37It was so close and thick and all bristling with thorns that
- 23:41not a mouse could go through it. Remembering the advice of his
- 23:45uncle, he stood before the force with folded hands and said, oh
- 23:50mother could Sherry please make way for me or else I die.
- 23:56Suddenly a clear path opened up in the forest and the youth
- 23:59gladly passed through it. The ocean.
- 24:02Now, lay before him, he said to the ocean.
- 24:05Oh, mother ocean. Make Way for me or else I die.
- 24:10Fourth with the Waters of the ocean.
- 24:12Stood up on two sides, like two walls, leaving an open passage
- 24:15between them and the youth pass through them.
- 24:18Dryly Now right before him with a Gardens of the ketaki flower,
- 24:24he entered the enclosure and found himself in a spacious
- 24:27Palace which seemed to be unoccupied.
- 24:30On going from apartment to apartment.
- 24:33He found a young lady of more than Earthly Beauty sleeping on
- 24:36a bed of gold. He went near her noticed, two
- 24:39little sticks, one of gold in the other of sober lying in the
- 24:43bed. The silver stick lay me to the
- 24:46feet of the Sleeping Beauty And The Golden One near the head.
- 24:51He took up the sticks in his hands and as he was examining
- 24:54them, the Golden Stick accidentally fell upon the feet
- 24:57of the lady in a moment, the lady woke up, sat up and said to
- 25:01the youth stranger. How is it that you have come to
- 25:05this dismal place. I know who you are and I know
- 25:09your history. You are the Youth of the moon on
- 25:11your forehead and stars in the palms of your hands.
- 25:14Flee flee from this place. This is the residence of 700
- 25:18rakshasas who guard The Gardens of the cat.
- 25:21A cute flower. They have all gone a-hunting,
- 25:24but there was surely return by Sundown.
- 25:27And if they find you here, you will be eaten up.
- 25:31One rock. Chassis brought me here from the
- 25:33Earth where my father is King. She loves me very dearly and
- 25:37will not. Let me go away.
- 25:39By means of these gold and silver stick.
- 25:41She kills me when she goes away in the morning by means of these
- 25:44sticks. She revived me when she returns
- 25:47in the evening flee. Flee, hence, or you die.
- 25:52The youth told the young lady. How is Sister wished?
- 25:55Very much to have the ketaki flower, how he passed through
- 25:58the forest of Kotori and how he crossed the ocean.
- 26:02He said that he was also determined not to go alone, he
- 26:05must take the young lady along with him.
- 26:08The remaining part of that day, they spent together rambling
- 26:11about in The Gardens as the time was drawing near when the
- 26:14rakshasa should return the youth, buried himself.
- 26:17Among the enormous heap of ketaki flower, which lay on the
- 26:20adjoining apartment. After killing the young lady by
- 26:22touching her head, with the golden stick, just after Sunset.
- 26:26The youth heard the sound of a mighty Tempest, it was the
- 26:29return of 700 rakshasas to the gardens.
- 26:34One of them entered the apartment of the young lady,
- 26:36revived her and said I smell a human being, the young leader
- 26:41replied. How can a human being come to
- 26:44this place? I'm the only human being here.
- 26:48The Rock chassis then stretched herself on the floor and told
- 26:51the young lady to shampoo her legs as she was going on
- 26:55shampoo. And she, let it tear drop
- 26:57falling and rakshasas leg. Why are you weeping my dear
- 27:01child as the raw eater? Why are you crying is something
- 27:06troubling, you know Mama answered the young lady, nothing
- 27:10is troubling me. What can trouble me when you
- 27:13have made me so comfortable? I was only thinking about what
- 27:17would become of me when you die. When I die child for the rock
- 27:22chassis, shall I die? Yes, of course, All Creatures
- 27:26die but the death of a rock show Asura rakshasi will never
- 27:30happen. You know child that deep tank in
- 27:32the middle part of these Gardens.
- 27:35Well at the bottom of that tank is a wooden box in which there
- 27:39are a male and a female. Be it is ordain'd by Fate but if
- 27:44a human being was the moon on his forehead and stars on the
- 27:47palms of his hands were to come here.
- 27:50And dive into that tank and get a hold of the same wooden box
- 27:54and crushed to death the male and female bees without letting
- 27:57a drop of their blood fall on the ground, then we should die.
- 28:02But the accomplishment of this decree of Fate is, I think
- 28:05impossible for in the first place.
- 28:08There can be no such a human being who have the moon on his
- 28:11forehead and stars on the palms of his hands.
- 28:14And in the second place, if there were such a man, he would
- 28:18find it impossible to come to this place guarded as it is by
- 28:22the seven hundred of us encompassed by a deep ocean and
- 28:26barricaded by an impervious Forest of kachori, not to speak
- 28:30of the outposts and Sentinels that are stationed on the other
- 28:33side of the forest. And then even if he succeeds in
- 28:38coming here, you will, perhaps not know the secret of the
- 28:42wooden box. And even if he knows the secret
- 28:44of the wooden box, he may not succeed in killing the bees,
- 28:47without letting a drop of their blood fall on the ground and woe
- 28:51be to him of a drop does fall on the ground.
- 28:54For in that case, you'll be torn up into 700 Pieces by us.
- 28:59You see them child, but we are almost Immortal, not actually,
- 29:03but virtually. So you may therefore dismiss
- 29:07your fears. On the next morning, The Rock
- 29:10chassis got up, kill the young lady by means of the sticks and
- 29:14went away in search of food along with other rakshasas and
- 29:17wrap chassis. The lad would the moon on his
- 29:20forehead and stars in the palms of his hands.
- 29:22Came out of the Heap of flowers and revive the young lady.
- 29:26The young lady recited. To the young man, the whole
- 29:28conversation that she had had with the rock chassis.
- 29:31It was a perfect Revelation to him, he however, lost no time in
- 29:35beginning to act, he shut the heavy iron gates with the
- 29:39gardens, he dove into the tank and brought up the wooden box.
- 29:43He opened the wooden box and caught.
- 29:44Hold of the male and female bees has.
- 29:46They're about to escape. Crush them with the palms of his
- 29:49hands with smearing his body with every drop of their blood.
- 29:54The moment this was done loud. Cries and groans were heard from
- 29:57the edges of the garden. An agreement with the decree of
- 30:00Fate. All the rakshasas approach The
- 30:02Gardens and fell down dead. The youth with the moon on his
- 30:06forehead took as many ketaki flowers as he could together
- 30:09with their seeds and left the palace in the company of The
- 30:13Young and Beautiful Lady. Mountain heaps of carcasses of
- 30:17the mighty dead surrounded. The palace, the Waters of the
- 30:21ocean retrievable for the Youth has, before the forest of
- 30:24kachori. Also opened a Passage through
- 30:26it. And the happy, couple reached
- 30:28the house in the bazaar where they were welcomed by the sister
- 30:30of the youth, where the moon on his forehead.
- 30:34On the following morning, the youth as usual went to hunt.
- 30:37The king was also there a deer pass by and the youth shot an
- 30:41arrow. As he shot the turbine.
- 30:44As usual fell off his head and her bright light issued from it.
- 30:48The king saw in wondered, he told the youth to stop as he
- 30:51wished to strike up a friendship with him.
- 30:54Do you told him to come to his house and gave him his address?
- 30:58The king went to the house of the youth from the middle of the
- 31:00day, push, Parvati for that was the name of the young lady that
- 31:05had been brought from Beyond the ocean, told the king for she
- 31:08knew the whole story. How his seventh wife had been
- 31:11persuaded by the other six Queens to ring the bell twice
- 31:14before her time. How she was delivered of a
- 31:17beautiful boy. And girl, how pumps were
- 31:20substituted in their room? How the Twins were saved in a
- 31:23miraculous manner in the house of the Potter.
- 31:26How they were? Well, treated in the bazaar?
- 31:28How the youth with the moon on his forehead rescued, her from
- 31:30the clutches of the rakshasas? The king mightily incensed with
- 31:35the six Queens had them on the following day.
- 31:38Buried alive in the ground. The seventh Queen was then
- 31:41brought from the marketplace and reinstated in her position and
- 31:44the youth with the moon on his forehead, and the lovely push,
- 31:47Parvati and their lovely sister lived happily together.
- 31:52Hear my story ended. The Nadia Thorn withereth Etc.
- 32:21Wow, that story took a whole turn in the middle.
- 32:23I didn't see the island of the rakshasas coming.
- 32:26But that's a lovely story. I see a lot of overlap with
- 32:30these stories from Armenia and turkey going up to the giant
- 32:33scary. Giant or do or very insane?
- 32:38Hello Mother. Hello.
- 32:39Auntie and I'll play. Greetings tends to turn these
