- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes five sixty four through five sixty six,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Back to zero, earnest wishes for Lufy, Lufy's all out attack,
- 0:21Speaker 1: red Hawk blasts, and coming to an end the final
- 0:26Speaker 1: decisive battle against Hordy in these episodes. Really, I'm gonna
- 0:33Speaker 1: be honest, guys, it's more of the same. I'm bored.
- 0:39Speaker 1: These episodes were kind of whatever. The one bright spot
- 0:43Speaker 1: for me, as always was Chopper, Welcome to spoil Me.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Of.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you
- 1:10Speaker 1: much to Florian for commissioning this episode, and Florian is
- 1:14Speaker 1: also here in the chat. Thank you Florian for bearing
- 1:16Speaker 1: with me as I have had to reschedule this just
- 1:21Speaker 1: I feel like all year all I've done is reschedule
- 1:25Speaker 1: every week, Like it's just been NonStop. So I just
- 1:28Speaker 1: really appreciate how much everybody rolls with it. It is essential.
- 1:33Speaker 1: So these, like I said with the in the intro,
- 1:38Speaker 1: these episodes, it really does feel like we are recovering
- 1:42Speaker 1: a lot of ground and it doesn't feel like this
- 1:47Speaker 1: needs to be as long as it is. I mean,
- 1:52Speaker 1: this is just going to be a sort of ongoing
- 1:54Speaker 1: issue for me with this series, I think, and I
- 1:58Speaker 1: know that everybody is aware of it, and it's just
- 2:00Speaker 1: sort of a thing that's done because of trying to
- 2:02Speaker 1: stay in pace with the manga. So I can accept that,
- 2:06Speaker 1: understand the reason for it, and still feel like this
- 2:10Speaker 1: is really not you know, I just for me, I
- 2:13Speaker 1: think that there are ways to draw things out that
- 2:16Speaker 1: don't feel like you're simply drawing them out, and right
- 2:21Speaker 1: now you feel it completely. You know that's what's happening here.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So we start things off with five sixty four with
- 2:34Speaker 1: Fukuboshi the Prince, and he is reflecting on the fact
- 2:40Speaker 1: that it is low key their fault as the royals
- 2:46Speaker 1: of Fishman Island, that Hordy and his friends are as
- 2:50Speaker 1: filled with hatred as they are because they were not
- 2:55Speaker 1: looked after. He feels like, we had our priorities all
- 3:01Speaker 1: messed up and we didn't like do what we needed
- 3:07Speaker 1: to for the Fishman District, and they were allowed to
- 3:13Speaker 1: sort of fester because they had all of these resentments
- 3:18Speaker 1: due to the way they were living already, and they
- 3:22Speaker 1: just sort of transferred those feelings onto human beings and
- 3:26Speaker 1: are blaming them for it. This is the sort of
- 3:30Speaker 1: thing that I feel is a real wobbly sort of
- 3:34Speaker 1: premise because like it feels like we're blaming only the
- 3:46Speaker 1: lowest income is the vibe I get, like the people
- 3:49Speaker 1: who are at the bottom of the social order for
- 3:55Speaker 1: all of the unrest now, And it just the way
- 4:03Speaker 1: that there has been this sort of talk of hierarchy
- 4:06Speaker 1: in this world over and over again, in different areas,
- 4:10Speaker 1: depending on what the characters at the time are like it.
- 4:14Speaker 1: It is kind of odd to me to be like, oh, well,
- 4:18Speaker 1: all of these these people who were we weren't doing
- 4:22Speaker 1: our duty too. They never would have felt this way
- 4:24Speaker 1: about human beings if we hadn't ignored them. And I'm
- 4:29Speaker 1: not really feeling like that works. I don't know, I
- 4:33Speaker 1: just it it. I think the reason for me that
- 4:37Speaker 1: it doesn't work is because it doesn't feel like it's
- 4:41Speaker 1: fully explored before we get here. So it's sort of
- 4:45Speaker 1: being used retroactively as an explanation, but it's not. It
- 4:51Speaker 1: doesn't have any real impact because we didn't watch that,
- 4:53Speaker 1: and we didn't we didn't get to see the way
- 4:58Speaker 1: that all of this developed over time. We're just going
- 5:03Speaker 1: into flashbacks and finding out the ways in which you
- 5:07Speaker 1: know Horty and his friends grew up and how they
- 5:10Speaker 1: are what's the word, I want the oppression that they
- 5:17Speaker 1: have all suffered here, So speaking of we're going into
- 5:22Speaker 1: a flashback here. It's a weird animation style because Horty
- 5:28Speaker 1: is eating an apple and he's like his little sort
- 5:31Speaker 1: of eight year old looking self, and he is like
- 5:36Speaker 1: all in gray scale, as are the surrounding buildings and people,
- 5:42Speaker 1: but the apple is bright red and it was really
- 5:47Speaker 1: reminding me of like Pirates of the Caribbean, but the
- 5:50Speaker 1: whole thing with the apple in that. So we hear
- 5:54Speaker 1: a pirate like talking about how the humans are responsible
- 5:58Speaker 1: for everything that's been going wrong. They are stealing the
- 6:02Speaker 1: mermaids away and we've got to do something before the
- 6:07Speaker 1: island falls, and somebody else is responding like, well, we've
- 6:11Speaker 1: just got to kill them before they kill us. We
- 6:13Speaker 1: can't leave a single one alive. And he is overhearing
- 6:16Speaker 1: this like being said in an alley as he walks by,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and I kind of thought, as the way that the voices,
- 6:26Speaker 1: it's not immediately apparent that he is actually physically walking
- 6:30Speaker 1: past the people who are talking. I'm sorry if you
- 6:33Speaker 1: can hear that guys, Pippin is chewing on a little
- 6:37Speaker 1: chewbone there and it is so incredibly loud. I just
- 6:42Speaker 1: let him into my office because sometimes he needs some
- 6:44Speaker 1: time away from the kitten because he loves her, but
- 6:46Speaker 1: she is really up his ass like a lot. So.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But anyway, I had thought that what we were hearing
- 6:53Speaker 1: was like a voiceover from somebody specific, that we were
- 6:58Speaker 1: going to find out that there was a particular leader
- 7:02Speaker 1: that Hordy had been radicalized by, and this all of
- 7:06Speaker 1: this talk was him thinking about a speech that was
- 7:12Speaker 1: made or something like that, but it's not. It's just
- 7:15Speaker 1: like kind of conversation. And then we see all of
- 7:19Speaker 1: the other henchmen that he has as children, and they
- 7:24Speaker 1: are all saying the same thing about how you know,
- 7:27Speaker 1: humans are scum and we've got to get rid of them,
- 7:31Speaker 1: and YadA, YadA, YadA. And then there's a mention of
- 7:37Speaker 1: a hero and we see this like picture frame being
- 7:43Speaker 1: set up and it's a strange like he looks pretty human.
- 7:52Speaker 1: He's got a sort of like triangular head, one of
- 7:55Speaker 1: those heads that go straight into a neck that's actually
- 7:58Speaker 1: wider than the head. But somebody's saying, this man's sacrificed
- 8:04Speaker 1: his life to blow up the human shop and set
- 8:07Speaker 1: the slaves free. Pay your respects, and everybody is standing
- 8:13Speaker 1: around it. There's all these flowers and they're cheering for it,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and Hordy says, a hero, huh, And really it is
- 8:22Speaker 1: making quite an impression on him, the way that everybody
- 8:26Speaker 1: is standing and supporting this person. And he starts to say,
- 8:31Speaker 1: serve some right stupid humans, and his friends begin to
- 8:35Speaker 1: chime in with like that guy's awesome, Yeah, that's what
- 8:40Speaker 1: we should be doing. Count me in. It feels like
- 8:47Speaker 1: just so abrupt, do you know what I'm saying, Like
- 8:50Speaker 1: it's just such a sudden He's hearing all of this
- 8:53Speaker 1: rhetoric and all of these people saying that humans are
- 8:55Speaker 1: trash and whatever, and then there's this guy who basically
- 8:59Speaker 1: was like a suicide bomber, which he's saving slaves. So
- 9:03Speaker 1: I really have nothing against that and principle in certain ways,
- 9:06Speaker 1: but it just it felt like it was so sudden.
- 9:11Speaker 1: So we go away from that flashback and we come
- 9:15Speaker 1: into another flashback, but it is in full color. It's
- 9:18Speaker 1: not in the like weird gray scale the other one
- 9:20Speaker 1: was in, and it's our along and his buddies and
- 9:23Speaker 1: he is being like, you know, just lauded by everybody
- 9:29Speaker 1: around him, and he's the one who starts talking about like,
- 9:32Speaker 1: now I'll tell you about those wretchous, wretched worms they
- 9:35Speaker 1: call human were the superior race. They became jealous and afraid,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and then they began to persecute our people. And I
- 9:46Speaker 1: wind up sort of getting what I thought I was
- 9:48Speaker 1: going to get in the last scene, which is somebody
- 9:49Speaker 1: who is older and more experienced radicalizing these younger kids
- 9:57Speaker 1: turns into this huge shadow behind behind child Hoardy and
- 10:02Speaker 1: then dissolves into flames. And we see child Hordy standing
- 10:07Speaker 1: there with the flames like dancing in his eyes, and
- 10:11Speaker 1: it was just a really like it was an effective
- 10:15Speaker 1: animation like design, but it felt strange to me. And
- 10:23Speaker 1: he goes on and says, like, you know, there are
- 10:25Speaker 1: people who were dead and they had bitterness in them,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and you need to take that on and make it
- 10:30Speaker 1: your own and hold on to your anger. And that
- 10:35Speaker 1: is essentially how he has functioned. So when we kind
- 10:40Speaker 1: of jump forward in time a little bit, we have
- 10:43Speaker 1: Hatchie talking about there's a really nice human named Rayleigh
- 10:47Speaker 1: that I met on the surface and he's not as
- 10:50Speaker 1: mean as the other humans are. He doesn't even look
- 10:53Speaker 1: disgusted when he sees me, And Hordy turns and walks
- 10:57Speaker 1: away and says, I don't like your stupid stories. They
- 11:01Speaker 1: make me sick, And honestly, I can't help but feel
- 11:07Speaker 1: like Hatchie just saying he doesn't even look disgusted when
- 11:12Speaker 1: he looks at me. It is such a like bare minimum,
- 11:18Speaker 1: I mean, not even that. It isn't heartwarming. I think
- 11:22Speaker 1: Hachi is trying to be like, not all humans are bad,
- 11:25Speaker 1: but to frame it like that and make it sound
- 11:27Speaker 1: like what a great guy because he doesn't look like
- 11:30Speaker 1: he wants to vomit at the sight of me, is like,
- 11:33Speaker 1: it really isn't doing what I think Hachi is trying
- 11:37Speaker 1: to make it do. So we see Hordy just like
- 11:44Speaker 1: in this sort of time lapse where he's just walking
- 11:48Speaker 1: toward the camera, but he is growing over time and
- 11:53Speaker 1: he is really internalizing what Harlong said about holding on
- 11:58Speaker 1: to bitterness and hate them, hate them, And I don't know, guys,
- 12:04Speaker 1: it's just it's just flat, you know what I'm saying.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Like it feels because we actually don't see Hordy being
- 12:16Speaker 1: mistreated by humans in any particular way. The way that
- 12:22Speaker 1: he just leaps into this because he doesn't have anybody
- 12:25Speaker 1: better to hate, I guess, or anything better to do
- 12:28Speaker 1: with his energy, it doesn't really have as much of
- 12:32Speaker 1: an impact. Now, the problem with me saying that is
- 12:36Speaker 1: that I am trying to assign a logic to the
- 12:40Speaker 1: sort of hatred that doesn't really have logic behind it
- 12:45Speaker 1: when you really come down to it. So I understand
- 12:49Speaker 1: and acknowledge that, I mean, this is sort of the
- 12:51Speaker 1: issue with a lot of people. There's been some parents
- 12:56Speaker 1: who have been sharing stories of figuring out that they's
- 13:00Speaker 1: had been radicalized and that they were on certain corners
- 13:04Speaker 1: of the Internet and began watching certain YouTube videos and
- 13:09Speaker 1: the rhetoric about how, you know, people of color taking
- 13:15Speaker 1: over and woke politics and women don't know their place anymore,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and you know, YadA, YadA, YadA. It had sunk its
- 13:23Speaker 1: teeth into them and was holding on tight. And it
- 13:27Speaker 1: was just that these kids felt anger and resentment for
- 13:30Speaker 1: some reason, and it was never consistent why. It was
- 13:34Speaker 1: just that they felt dissatisfaction for a variety of reasons,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and they needed somebody to blame. And here came someone
- 13:43Speaker 1: who was like giving them an answer, giving them a
- 13:47Speaker 1: way to direct that rage so that it felt like
- 13:51Speaker 1: they were being righteous. And also the fact that everybody
- 13:55Speaker 1: else was like, well, you're so wrong about this, and
- 13:57Speaker 1: how can you say that they could tell themselves, Oh,
- 13:59Speaker 1: they don't get it. I'm the only one who really, like,
- 14:02Speaker 1: only me and my friends can see through the bullshit
- 14:06Speaker 1: because we are so tuned in and everybody else is
- 14:09Speaker 1: still blind, you know. And I think that the problem
- 14:15Speaker 1: for me is Horty's life and like how he grew
- 14:20Speaker 1: up in everything isn't actually shown to us. We see
- 14:24Speaker 1: him walk in the streets all the time, we see
- 14:27Speaker 1: him hanging out with his friends, but we don't see
- 14:29Speaker 1: him like struggling to live, not having anywhere to sleep
- 14:34Speaker 1: at night. Who the adults in his life are?
- 14:37Speaker 2: You know.
- 14:37Speaker 1: There's just a lot of him just at random, wandering
- 14:41Speaker 1: around with his little chromies, and there's no background to
- 14:48Speaker 1: him as a real person that gives you an understanding
- 14:53Speaker 1: of where the rage would be coming from and that
- 14:57Speaker 1: it could be redirected toward humans. Like the rage itself
- 15:01Speaker 1: doesn't seem to really be coming from anywhere. And while
- 15:06Speaker 1: you can just sort of look at the situation he's
- 15:09Speaker 1: in and gather from that that he doesn't have an
- 15:13Speaker 1: adult responsible for him in his life, that he doesn't
- 15:16Speaker 1: have anybody who is caring for him, and he doesn't
- 15:19Speaker 1: have a home. We can pick that up, but it's
- 15:24Speaker 1: not actually being shown to us. And if we were
- 15:28Speaker 1: to be shown suddenly that he did have parents and
- 15:30Speaker 1: he did have a home, it wouldn't feel like that
- 15:33Speaker 1: was out like that that contradicted anything. It would just
- 15:38Speaker 1: be a little bit surprising. But I just feel like,
- 15:43Speaker 1: if you want to tell the story of someone who
- 15:46Speaker 1: gets sort of scooped up and radicalized by a person,
- 15:50Speaker 1: you always have to start with them feeling oppressed and
- 15:55Speaker 1: misunderstood and not getting their due for whatever reason. And
- 16:01Speaker 1: we just don't get that part with Hordy. So the rage,
- 16:06Speaker 1: it feels like, is totally manufactured, and that really what
- 16:12Speaker 1: he's after is being seen as a hero, because you know,
- 16:17Speaker 1: he saw this one portrait of this guy and I
- 16:21Speaker 1: don't know, it's just it's not it's got this This
- 16:24Speaker 1: storyline is so annoying, you guys, because it's like it's
- 16:27Speaker 1: got all the elements, you know, but it's none of
- 16:32Speaker 1: them are fleshed out enough. And then there are things
- 16:36Speaker 1: that are just fleshed out in the same way so
- 16:38Speaker 1: repeatedly that it's like, yeah, we get it, you know, So,
- 16:43Speaker 1: especially considering talking about how this has felt so drawn out,
- 16:47Speaker 1: if we did have some further backstory on Hordy and
- 16:51Speaker 1: the way that he grew up and how this all
- 16:53Speaker 1: started in a more concrete way, that would actually be
- 16:58Speaker 1: quite effective drawing things out. It's at least giving further dimension,
- 17:03Speaker 1: you know, giving him some layers, and getting us to
- 17:07Speaker 1: understand why he would be walking around so angry. But
- 17:11Speaker 1: it's hard to feel like this hatred is very real
- 17:14Speaker 1: because the whole time that he's like hearing what Arlang
- 17:18Speaker 1: is saying, he's like grinning into the camera. And I
- 17:21Speaker 1: get that it's supposed to be that he's like grinning
- 17:25Speaker 1: like in a villainous sort of way, and it's supposed
- 17:28Speaker 1: to be a smile. That's like not a smile. But
- 17:32Speaker 1: because again we don't see him ever being really mistreated
- 17:37Speaker 1: by anybody or denied anything, it's just it's not coming
- 17:45Speaker 1: from anywhere, So it feels almost like he is gleeful
- 17:50Speaker 1: and not angry, not hateful, that it's all like a
- 17:54Speaker 1: complete sham. When I think we're meant to actually believe
- 18:00Speaker 1: he truly hates them now as an adult. So anyway,
- 18:05Speaker 1: like I said, it just feels very flat and unsatisfying
- 18:09Speaker 1: to me. So I'm sorry, guys, I'm trying to jump
- 18:14Speaker 1: ahead here, but my computer I ordered the new one
- 18:18Speaker 1: and it is on its way. But uh, oh right.
- 18:22Speaker 1: This is when somebody comes through and announces that Tiger
- 18:26Speaker 1: has been slain, and Zeo says something about how, like,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I guess he wasn't the hero that we needed. So
- 18:33Speaker 1: this is why Hordy winds up like stepping into the
- 18:37Speaker 1: breach there, because Tiger was not radical enough, evidently. And
- 18:44Speaker 1: we see all of them like wearing these hoods at
- 18:47Speaker 1: one point, and they are standing outside of a fish
- 18:53Speaker 1: man's home and it's him, and then he's got his
- 18:56Speaker 1: wife behind him holding a child, and Zeo is saying,
- 19:00Speaker 1: is it true you gave your blood to humans? And
- 19:03Speaker 1: he says, so what if I did? He was dying.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I had to help him. And they pick this guy
- 19:10Speaker 1: up by the throat and like set his house on fire.
- 19:15Speaker 1: It's unclear whether they actually like kill the guy. I
- 19:19Speaker 1: think that it's just supposed to be that they set
- 19:21Speaker 1: the place on fire. And the whole like energy of
- 19:24Speaker 1: this is very reminiscent of like the KKK coming and
- 19:30Speaker 1: burning down the homes of black people or you know,
- 19:34Speaker 1: civil rights activists.
- 19:36Speaker 2: And it's just.
- 19:41Speaker 1: A weird energy to be putting on them when they
- 19:46Speaker 1: are genuinely oppressed by people. Like the comparisons just don't
- 19:52Speaker 1: quite work here. It's so odd, you know. It reminds
- 19:59Speaker 1: me a little bit of like in this show True Blood,
- 20:03Speaker 1: there are a lot of parallels that they try and
- 20:06Speaker 1: draw with the gay community and vampires and the rights
- 20:10Speaker 1: that they are fighting for and the bigotry that they encounter.
- 20:17Speaker 1: But then like eventually we get to see vampires that
- 20:20Speaker 1: are killing an entire wedding party and eating a baby,
- 20:24Speaker 1: and it's like, well, you know, you can't talk about
- 20:26Speaker 1: how like, oh, people should give them rights because they're
- 20:30Speaker 1: you know, there's nothing different about them except what they eat.
- 20:35Speaker 1: And there's still when you've got them eating babies and
- 20:40Speaker 1: killing like thirty people and rolling around in the blood
- 20:44Speaker 1: on the floor for fun. You can't equate these things.
- 20:48Speaker 1: And this show is not trying to do it as overtly,
- 20:52Speaker 1: but because of the imagery being so particular, it's clear
- 20:56Speaker 1: to me what we're doing here, you know. So we
- 21:02Speaker 1: see all of them like hanging around and drinking and
- 21:06Speaker 1: talking about the various people that are sort of giving
- 21:11Speaker 1: up the cause and not really having the kind of
- 21:15Speaker 1: pride that they should have in being a fishman. Jim
- 21:19Speaker 1: May is mentioned specifically because he has joined the Marines,
- 21:28Speaker 1: and Horty says, we need a new kind of hero,
- 21:33Speaker 1: someone with no fear, who can set the country straight.
- 21:37Speaker 1: And then we jump ahead to the assassination of the queen,
- 21:41Speaker 1: and the way that this all like shakes out basically
- 21:50Speaker 1: is eventually we find out about the drug and Horty
- 21:56Speaker 1: is like, can you duplicate these? And Zeo says, I'll try,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I can't remember. Who asks how he got his hands
- 22:02Speaker 1: on it, but he doesn't give them a direct answer.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And I am really curious about this as well, and
- 22:10Speaker 1: I kind of feel like whatever the answer is going
- 22:12Speaker 1: to be, it's going to reveal that maybe there is
- 22:17Speaker 1: something about the distribution of this drug that is like
- 22:21Speaker 1: really shady. I don't know. I just can't help but
- 22:24Speaker 1: think about the distribution of crack cocaine and how that
- 22:28Speaker 1: was targeted specifically in African American communities, and it was
- 22:34Speaker 1: you know acknowledged, like we have paperwork validating that that
- 22:38Speaker 1: is what happened, and it was done with that purpose
- 22:40Speaker 1: in mind, to bring down black communities from the inside.
- 22:45Speaker 1: And so a part of me is like, are we
- 22:47Speaker 1: doing that now? Is this what we're doing, because like,
- 22:50Speaker 1: you know, the fact that Hordy kind of has this
- 22:55Speaker 1: like kinky hair, it feels like he is almost black
- 22:59Speaker 1: coated in the way that he is animated at times.
- 23:02Speaker 1: So there are just a lot of things that line
- 23:05Speaker 1: up for me. And yeah, he's telling them like the
- 23:10Speaker 1: day of reckoning is coming, and then we come back
- 23:14Speaker 1: to the present and he is saying, like, you know,
- 23:18Speaker 1: this is the end of the line for all of you,
- 23:20Speaker 1: and we're finally taking our revenge. He is still chasing
- 23:23Speaker 1: after Loofy, who is being carried by the Princess, and
- 23:28Speaker 1: they are attempting to beat the ship and try and
- 23:33Speaker 1: pull it out of the way. And this is when
- 23:36Speaker 1: the Prince, who was looking up and watching this because
- 23:39Speaker 1: he's injured so he can't do anything, but he is
- 23:43Speaker 1: thinking about we neglected the Fishman District and let it
- 23:48Speaker 1: become a breeding ground. We pretended not to see the
- 23:50Speaker 1: resentment as it built up, as a result of their isolation,
- 23:55Speaker 1: even as it descended into lawlessness. We lived in willful ignorance,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I guess. I Like, I feel like he's basically saying,
- 24:10Speaker 1: if they weren't living in such poverty, they wouldn't have
- 24:12Speaker 1: been so angry, and they wouldn't have been radicalized.
- 24:15Speaker 2: But like.
- 24:17Speaker 1: The hatred of humans from their poverty, why wouldn't they
- 24:23Speaker 1: hate the royals for not caring for them? Like where
- 24:31Speaker 1: the angry because like they do dislike the royals we see,
- 24:34Speaker 1: and that that's why they target the queen, but because
- 24:37Speaker 1: of the fact that she is trying to make nice
- 24:39Speaker 1: with the humans. And what is it that the prince
- 24:43Speaker 1: thinks they should have done? Should they have gone in
- 24:48Speaker 1: and distributed wealth and given these people like a leg up?
- 24:52Speaker 1: Because I think that you should do that anyway, regardless
- 24:57Speaker 1: if you have the resources. Why is there poverty on
- 25:00Speaker 1: Fishman Island to begin with? And like it just the
- 25:08Speaker 1: assertion that he is making is like we just pretended
- 25:11Speaker 1: not to see it. It just all feels so sort
- 25:16Speaker 1: of thrown together. I thought collecting the signatures would help,
- 25:22Speaker 1: but it wasn't addressing the true issue. Please forgive me, mother,
- 25:26Speaker 1: I'm so sorry and then we have her, you know,
- 25:30Speaker 1: saying that we can't have people's minds polluted with hatred,
- 25:33Speaker 1: that that can't be the way that we move forward.
- 25:37Speaker 1: And he realizes like it was too late. Despite everything
- 25:40Speaker 1: that she said, all that she feared had already been
- 25:44Speaker 1: set in motion, and the real enemy was the hatred
- 25:51Speaker 1: and resentment building in our hearts. I should have looked inward,
- 25:57Speaker 1: but I looked outward. My mother's true killer was the
- 26:01Speaker 1: grudge that festered among our people while we turned a
- 26:04Speaker 1: blind eye, I suppose.
- 26:09Speaker 2: But like.
- 26:11Speaker 1: The humans are actually like capturing and enslaving you, you
- 26:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Like, Ah, granted these guys didn't
- 26:19Speaker 1: experience that, but the whole thing is just very cobbled,
- 26:21Speaker 1: and it doesn't feel like we've got a great thesis
- 26:24Speaker 1: except for the fact that, like we shouldn't hate, hatred
- 26:28Speaker 1: is the enemy. But that's it's just not really actually
- 26:33Speaker 1: getting to the heart of the issue here. So let's see.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Fukubushi starts yelling up to Loofy and he says,
- 26:46Speaker 1: straw Hat, please erase our past, set us back to zero,
- 26:51Speaker 1: eradicate the shadows cast by our grudge, so that we
- 26:55Speaker 1: may see the light. What does that mean? How is
- 27:00Speaker 1: Lufy meant to do that just by like killing Hordy.
- 27:05Speaker 1: That doesn't feel like that's going to do the job.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And we have the dudes in that little side ship
- 27:10Speaker 1: and they are aiming at the Noah and they have
- 27:13Speaker 1: that huge bubble ready and they send it toward it,
- 27:19Speaker 1: and we see it like it just travels so slowly,
- 27:22Speaker 1: and it feels like the ship is definitely going to
- 27:24Speaker 1: outstrip it and reach Fishman Island before the bubble will.
- 27:28Speaker 1: So I'm watching this, and uh, Hordy is still pursuing Lufy,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and I don't think he sees the bubble it Like
- 27:38Speaker 1: eventually Lufy says, brother, ho, shehi, just let me do
- 27:43Speaker 1: this my way, trust me. And we have some people
- 27:48Speaker 1: who are on the ground saying like, wait, is that
- 27:51Speaker 1: the straw Hat pirates fighting in the And we find
- 27:54Speaker 1: out that everybody is sort of realizing the straw Hats
- 27:57Speaker 1: are actually on our side, that these are humans and
- 27:59Speaker 1: they are helping us. The news is spreading further out
- 28:02Speaker 1: across the island. So finally the bubble hits the Noah
- 28:08Speaker 1: and begins to encircle it. The Noah is just so
- 28:12Speaker 1: enormous that it's really hard for me to wrap my
- 28:14Speaker 1: head around, and it's in the bubble. All of these
- 28:18Speaker 1: dudes are cheering because it has slowed it down, and
- 28:23Speaker 1: we have Loofy here saying like our minds were made
- 28:25Speaker 1: up as soon as we got here about saving the island.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Leave it to me and my crew again. He has
- 28:32Speaker 1: made a speech about how we're definitely going to save
- 28:34Speaker 1: everybody a few times now, and you know about how
- 28:39Speaker 1: that's what friends are for, right, It's just the difference
- 28:43Speaker 1: is now that he is saying this on a transponder
- 28:46Speaker 1: snail so that everybody can hear it. So finally he
- 28:50Speaker 1: says to the princess, like, you've got to follow my lead.
- 28:53Speaker 1: I promise that he won't hurt you. And she holds
- 28:57Speaker 1: Lufy out just like sort of between her hands and
- 29:02Speaker 1: lets him go, and he starts to head toward Hordy,
- 29:05Speaker 1: who really does look absolutely terrifying at this point. Like
- 29:08Speaker 1: Horty's design and the way that it keeps getting amped up,
- 29:12Speaker 1: he looks creepier and creepier. So back on the ground, fighting, fighting, fighting,
- 29:19Speaker 1: continuing with our other friends, we have Frankie getting spit
- 29:24Speaker 1: at by the weird squid, guy who turns into ink eventually,
- 29:32Speaker 1: and he says, I can copy myself with squid ink.
- 29:40Speaker 1: The Spirit of the Squid is unstop and it cuts
- 29:43Speaker 1: off because he does the fireball. Frankie attacks him with
- 29:48Speaker 1: his worst fear because this guy just can't stop talking
- 29:51Speaker 1: about how he's going to become cooked in a variety
- 29:55Speaker 1: of ways, whether it be deep pried or steamed or
- 29:59Speaker 1: roasted or grilled or broiled or whatever. And I was unclear, guys,
- 30:05Speaker 1: is that copying with the ink Is that a devil
- 30:10Speaker 1: fruit power or is this something that all squid can do?
- 30:14Speaker 1: I couldn't. It feels to me like a devil fruit power.
- 30:18Speaker 1: But I think based on the fact that he follows
- 30:22Speaker 1: that up with like the spirit of the Squid is unstoppable,
- 30:25Speaker 1: it felt like he was saying all squid could do this.
- 30:31Speaker 1: So at this point Chopper chimes in and he is
- 30:35Speaker 1: like very impressed with Frankie, and he gets distracted and
- 30:40Speaker 1: we have the hammerhead Shark using his hammer on I
- 30:45Speaker 1: can't believe this guy's He uses his hammer on Chopper,
- 30:47Speaker 1: who stops it with his fist, and then when the
- 30:50Speaker 1: camera pulls out, we have a new iteration of Chopper
- 30:55Speaker 1: yet again. He is huge, and he has this weird
- 31:02Speaker 1: sort of like it looks almost like a car tire
- 31:07Speaker 1: covered in fur around his neck, but his head is
- 31:12Speaker 1: like mostly the same size. And I was just not
- 31:16Speaker 1: really sure what to make of it because he's I
- 31:22Speaker 1: don't know what the significance is of this design, if
- 31:25Speaker 1: there's any like particular reason for it. But Zorro says,
- 31:33Speaker 1: I thought this was supposed to be your normal looking form.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Don't you worry about looking so freaky? And Chopper says,
- 31:43Speaker 1: I wanted to look human before because I didn't have
- 31:46Speaker 1: any friends, but now I want to be a monster
- 31:49Speaker 1: so that I can help Loofy. And Zorro is quite
- 31:54Speaker 1: approving of this. I like seeing Zoro approve of anybody
- 31:57Speaker 1: because it's so rare. Here comes the uh octopus man.
- 32:02Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Pippin's over here nudging me. He has to
- 32:05Speaker 1: go out, but you can wait just a few more minutes.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I'll let you on a sec, buddy. But the octopus
- 32:11Speaker 1: man is like this dude is all over the place.
- 32:14Speaker 1: He just really Eventually Zoro calls him a frog and
- 32:18Speaker 1: he's like, well, maybe I am like a frog. And
- 32:20Speaker 1: we see that he can like excreete poison, and I'm
- 32:23Speaker 1: like with him, why haven't you been doing that the
- 32:26Speaker 1: whole time? Why is that something that happened because of
- 32:29Speaker 1: the pill that he's taking, and he's just sort of,
- 32:33Speaker 1: you know, it's accentuating some other things that he can
- 32:37Speaker 1: do anyway. So on the second of these three episodes
- 32:42Speaker 1: is my personal favorite fight because it's between Brooke and Zeo,
- 32:49Speaker 1: and Zeo is just such a fucking weird character and
- 32:53Speaker 1: they keep doing the thing that I love, where Zeo
- 32:57Speaker 1: looks incredibly intimidating and frightened, and then something idiotic happens
- 33:02Speaker 1: and it makes him so embarrassed and he can't admit it.
- 33:05Speaker 1: So he is coming up behind Brooke and he's talking
- 33:10Speaker 1: about what an imbecile Brook is because you don't even
- 33:13Speaker 1: know that I'm coming, and you're gonna be dead before
- 33:15Speaker 1: you know what hit you. But Brooke consent something is
- 33:18Speaker 1: off and just uses his sword and manages to get
- 33:21Speaker 1: this guy, like even though he was invisible until the
- 33:23Speaker 1: last second, he gets him. I can't remember if it's
- 33:26Speaker 1: in the chest or what. But Coeo says, you've fallen
- 33:29Speaker 1: into my trap. Little did you know that was my
- 33:32Speaker 1: weapon destroying technique the body sword crush. Now the tip
- 33:39Speaker 1: of your sword has crumbled. It's worthless. And there's just
- 33:43Speaker 1: a bit of a pause. Pippin calm down, Bud, Sorry guys,
- 33:49Speaker 1: he's just a lot more interruptive today than normal. But
- 33:54Speaker 1: there's just a pause, and then Brooke says, no, I
- 33:57Speaker 1: stabbed you, and that got me laughing so hard. Brooks
- 34:03Speaker 1: whole thing here is delightful. Eventually Zeo thinks that he
- 34:10Speaker 1: has like decapitated Brook and for real, this man is
- 34:14Speaker 1: a skeleton. I feel like you should know. Decapitating him
- 34:19Speaker 1: isn't gonna do it. The man has no organs, he
- 34:22Speaker 1: has no skin, there's no banes. Why would you think
- 34:26Speaker 1: this would do anything? So he like yanks Brooks head
- 34:31Speaker 1: off with this chain and he stands around laughing to
- 34:34Speaker 1: himself about it for like way too long, until eventually
- 34:40Speaker 1: Brook's head like rolls back toward him and he just
- 34:43Speaker 1: picks it up and is like, yeah, no, I'm fine.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Actually it takes so long for him to just say that,
- 34:53Speaker 1: And he says, you can chop me up as much
- 34:56Speaker 1: as you like, but none of the things that give
- 34:58Speaker 1: you life are what give me life. It's my soul
- 35:01Speaker 1: and again with Zeo like screaming and his weird eyes
- 35:05Speaker 1: bugging out on all the people around him, like I
- 35:08Speaker 1: killed him so hard it brought him back to life. Man,
- 35:11Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 35:13Speaker 2: You guys.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I love it. It's so stupid, but I needed, I
- 35:18Speaker 1: need something to cling to in this arc. So this
- 35:20Speaker 1: is doing it for me, you know, And Brookes says,
- 35:26Speaker 1: I'm already dead. You're not gonna kill me twice and
- 35:29Speaker 1: he pulls out his sword and says, this blade I
- 35:33Speaker 1: wield is like none other, sharpened by the long Arm
- 35:37Speaker 1: tribe and granted a befitting name, Soul solid in grave.
- 35:43Speaker 1: That title upon your heart, and he points it at
- 35:46Speaker 1: him and instead of like trying to fight with it
- 35:48Speaker 1: like a normal sword, it shoots this blue ice at him,
- 35:54Speaker 1: and he says that it's pulling like this blood curdling
- 36:01Speaker 1: wind right from the land of the Dead. It'll freeze
- 36:06Speaker 1: you with the frigid air. And Zeo has the ice
- 36:13Speaker 1: like on his face, and Brooks says, as its icy grip, claims,
- 36:17Speaker 1: you gaze upon its bitter blade and it's just so
- 36:24Speaker 1: like he does a haiku later he is really going
- 36:28Speaker 1: for the flare in this episode. And I'm pretty into
- 36:31Speaker 1: it actually, so he gets distracted at this point by
- 36:35Speaker 1: who's cheering him on, and we jump over to USOP
- 36:39Speaker 1: for a little while with this guy who I think
- 36:43Speaker 1: at some point says that he is a cookie cutter shark.
- 36:47Speaker 1: I'm gonna look this up because I feel like I
- 36:51Speaker 1: can't imagine why a shark would be called a cookie
- 36:54Speaker 1: cutter shark. Oh okay, he doesn't really. I expected they're
- 36:59Speaker 1: to be like a frill around his head the guy.
- 37:03Speaker 1: The designs for these guys don't.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Really Uh.
- 37:08Speaker 1: There's not a real like line up with the actual
- 37:14Speaker 1: shark that they're meant to be in their design. I
- 37:17Speaker 1: keep thinking it's gonna be a little bit more relevant
- 37:19Speaker 1: than it is. But like the cookie cutter sharks, they're
- 37:22Speaker 1: not even red. Well I guess you could. It's red,
- 37:27Speaker 1: like brown red. But uh, yeah, the cookie cutter shark
- 37:33Speaker 1: does not sound intimidating either. I feel like that's not anything.
- 37:36Speaker 1: So when he corrects oos up, I was sort of like,
- 37:39Speaker 1: you might want to just let it, you know, let
- 37:42Speaker 1: us up call you what he called you, because that
- 37:45Speaker 1: sounded actually more badass. Cookie cutter shark is just failing
- 37:48Speaker 1: to to impress here. So we go back to the
- 37:55Speaker 1: fight and Hordy is coming at Loofy again. You think
- 38:00Speaker 1: you're gonna protect everybody on this island. And Loofy does
- 38:06Speaker 1: second gear and he does gum gum jet and he
- 38:11Speaker 1: manages to like stop Hordy in place. He punches him
- 38:14Speaker 1: in the gut and sends sorti flying Hordy flying backwards.
- 38:19Speaker 1: But it doesn't really do damage exactly. It just sort
- 38:24Speaker 1: of is an like he makes himself into enough of
- 38:27Speaker 1: an obstacle, and you know, the fight at this point
- 38:35Speaker 1: starts to get a little bit more desperate. Loofy does
- 38:41Speaker 1: the armament with second gear, and it's just sort of
- 38:46Speaker 1: the fight itself. Guys, it's just Hordy coming at Loofy
- 38:53Speaker 1: and lufy like punching him back or throwing him over
- 38:57Speaker 1: and over and over. It's not exactly dynamic, you know,
- 39:03Speaker 1: it's the same. I'm just going to to rush at
- 39:07Speaker 1: you with all the force and speed I can, and
- 39:10Speaker 1: I think the intent is just going to be like
- 39:12Speaker 1: I'll break you into pieces with the force of the
- 39:15Speaker 1: impact of it or something. Whatever it is. It's Hordy
- 39:20Speaker 1: isn't He isn't pulling out any like moves that are
- 39:25Speaker 1: interesting to watch, and I guess like it's supposed to
- 39:29Speaker 1: be that him taking these pills is the interesting part.
- 39:32Speaker 1: But it's very intermittent with him doing that, and so
- 39:36Speaker 1: his fight, his it's not it's not exciting. It's just
- 39:43Speaker 1: kind of him throwing himself against a wall over and
- 39:46Speaker 1: over again, you know what I'm saying. So anyway, uh,
- 39:52Speaker 1: Loofy punches him hard enough that he like goes through
- 39:55Speaker 1: the top deck of the Noah and the Prince see
- 40:00Speaker 1: that and seems a little bit worried, you know, like
- 40:03Speaker 1: just you know, we said that we weren't going to
- 40:06Speaker 1: destroy that shit, Bud, how about you don't actually, And
- 40:12Speaker 1: I'm just trying to jump around a little bit because
- 40:14Speaker 1: we do meet up with our friends back on the
- 40:17Speaker 1: ground again and sort of see how everybody is doing.
- 40:23Speaker 1: And Zeo is managing to do a kind of rousing
- 40:29Speaker 1: speech here with all of his chains and it's impressive,
- 40:34Speaker 1: but I just know now what a goober he is.
- 40:37Speaker 1: So he's got his back to Brook and Brooke comes
- 40:41Speaker 1: at him from behind. It's like, oh, good, there you are.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And the Hammerhead Shark comes up to the crowd that
- 40:49Speaker 1: has gathered and is just saying like blame the humans.
- 40:53Speaker 1: They're the ones that made us this way. As he
- 40:55Speaker 1: brings the hammer down, and you know, talk about like
- 40:59Speaker 1: uns subtle to take that rage of yours and let
- 41:03Speaker 1: it loose on all of humanity. They deserve your hate.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Look around, do you know what they've done to us?
- 41:11Speaker 1: They're the ones behind every disaster the fishmen have met.
- 41:15Speaker 1: And one of the little kids says, is everything he's
- 41:19Speaker 1: saying true, And another fishman chimes in and says, no,
- 41:22Speaker 1: that's ridiculous. I mean sure, humans have done plenty of
- 41:27Speaker 1: awful things, especially when you look at their history with
- 41:31Speaker 1: and Charlie cuts in and just says that's enough. And
- 41:36Speaker 1: she says, a little boy, you can see what's happening
- 41:39Speaker 1: with your own eyes. Just look on the ground and
- 41:42Speaker 1: in the sky. The humans are fighting against the new
- 41:47Speaker 1: Fishman pirates for us. I don't like that. I get
- 41:54Speaker 1: what she's doing, and just like humans aren't all bad,
- 41:57Speaker 1: look at the way they're trying to help. But this
- 42:01Speaker 1: guy is starting to say, like, well, it's not untrue,
- 42:05Speaker 1: and then her interrupting and being like stop it. I
- 42:08Speaker 1: couldn't help but think, if you don't want like children
- 42:12Speaker 1: to know the actual truth, you have something to hide.
- 42:17Speaker 1: You have like an agenda, and I feel like he
- 42:22Speaker 1: deserves to know that, yes, humans have done terrible things.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Maybe that this guy is too extreme, but you know,
- 42:31Speaker 1: we've got a crew of seven people down here is
- 42:35Speaker 1: it seven now? And they are all exemplary examples of
- 42:42Speaker 1: the human race. Some of them aren't human, granted, but
- 42:44Speaker 1: you know, I don't feel like she's really making a
- 42:50Speaker 1: solid case that would stand up to scrutiny much here.
- 42:53Speaker 1: It just feels like she's kind of lying, and you know,
- 42:57Speaker 1: she's like the important thing about this, despite being strange,
- 43:02Speaker 1: is that they're doing what you're doing, and you have
- 43:04Speaker 1: to see for yourself. That's the only way to understand
- 43:07Speaker 1: the truth. No matter what you've heard in the past,
- 43:10Speaker 1: you must look at today with an objective eye, which
- 43:14Speaker 1: sure except that they aren't up in the human world.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Watching the way humans still treat fish men, so like
- 43:22Speaker 1: you're not giving them the whole story, and it just
- 43:26Speaker 1: the whole thing doesn't quite hang together when you stop
- 43:30Speaker 1: and take apart any given moment. It all just feels
- 43:36Speaker 1: like we've been laboring a metaphor in a way that
- 43:39Speaker 1: doesn't work anymore. So this is Brooke coming in he's
- 43:48Speaker 1: yelling at Zeo and he says, I can promise you,
- 43:50Speaker 1: one of these days, our captain Loofy will become King
- 43:53Speaker 1: of the Pirates. He's a man who keeps his word
- 43:56Speaker 1: no matter the cause. So if he says no harm
- 43:58Speaker 1: will come to the people here, then no harm will come.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I believe in him no matter what. So that ship
- 44:05Speaker 1: will never touch this island. And now it's time for
- 44:08Speaker 1: me to step up and do my part. I won't
- 44:12Speaker 1: let you disappear before my eyes again, even though I
- 44:15Speaker 1: have no eyes to speak of. And y'all we go.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Then back to the fucking blowfish monk and Sangy. I
- 44:29Speaker 1: can't believe this is still happening. He's like humoring him
- 44:35Speaker 1: by saying, oh, yeah, he's huge, that's very, very impressive.
- 44:40Speaker 1: But this thing eventually like lets the breath out and
- 44:42Speaker 1: just starts flying around. Zoro meanwhile, has sliced the blades
- 44:48Speaker 1: off of the two swords that the octopus man is using,
- 44:51Speaker 1: and that's when he starts to you know, secrete that
- 44:56Speaker 1: weird poison. And then we go Frankie and he's about
- 45:01Speaker 1: to try out this special move, and you guys, Frankie
- 45:05Speaker 1: actually says in the dialogue I'm going balls out. That
- 45:10Speaker 1: was unexpected. I didn't feel like they would be allowed
- 45:13Speaker 1: to use that sort of language. I approve of it
- 45:16Speaker 1: for the record, but I didn't think that was going
- 45:19Speaker 1: to be allowed. So yeah, that was just a bit
- 45:24Speaker 1: of a shock. So let's kind of jump ahead here
- 45:32Speaker 1: to Chopper, who has turned into that massive version of
- 45:36Speaker 1: himself again. This is so funny because it is the
- 45:41Speaker 1: type of form that he was only able to achieve
- 45:46Speaker 1: when he had too many rumble balls in the past.
- 45:49Speaker 1: But evidently now he can do it and he is
- 45:52Speaker 1: in full control of himself. He's still here and he's like,
- 45:56Speaker 1: don't worry, use Up, I know what I'm doing, and
- 45:58Speaker 1: Up is clearly like wait what, And later on he
- 46:03Speaker 1: explains like, I can fight in this form for I
- 46:05Speaker 1: think a full two minutes, and you know I won't
- 46:11Speaker 1: pass out or anything, so you guys don't have to
- 46:13Speaker 1: keep looking out for me anymore. And y'all know that
- 46:17Speaker 1: this is like what I was hoping for when it
- 46:20Speaker 1: came to Chopper was just a moment where he got
- 46:26Speaker 1: to a stage that he didn't have to be the
- 46:32Speaker 1: guy left on the ship to watch it anymore, that
- 46:35Speaker 1: he could actually be in on the fight. So I'm
- 46:41Speaker 1: delighted with this, even though it is a rumble ball thing.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Still it's not like a form that he can just
- 46:46Speaker 1: take on. But the episode, this one ends with Hordy
- 46:53Speaker 1: once again chomping a bunch of pills and we just
- 46:58Speaker 1: start to see the transformation before the the end pops up.
- 47:03Speaker 1: So we start the next episode we get to see
- 47:07Speaker 1: how he is. They do that red light around him.
- 47:11Speaker 1: It really is quite cool looking. I do like this
- 47:15Speaker 1: animation technique. And Lufy is like, man, his bounty like
- 47:22Speaker 1: would have to be really high considering how incredibly tough
- 47:26Speaker 1: he is. And Cordy just yanks himself out of the
- 47:32Speaker 1: deck of the ship with like a scream, and his
- 47:37Speaker 1: shoulders now are so big that they're almost at level
- 47:41Speaker 1: with the top of his head, and he says, I'm
- 47:45Speaker 1: not letting you get out of here, straw hat no
- 47:47Speaker 1: chance in hell. Then Noah will fall, And we had
- 47:51Speaker 1: a moment earlier where Lufy is just like, I'm not
- 47:53Speaker 1: letting anybody I love die again, and he has the
- 47:56Speaker 1: flashback to Ace and everything, and Loofy attempts the gum
- 48:03Speaker 1: gum jet bazooka and it hits Hordy and it looked
- 48:06Speaker 1: for a moment like he had made a hole in
- 48:09Speaker 1: his stomach, and I was feeling like, all right, that
- 48:13Speaker 1: seems like it was like maybe the death blow. Hordy
- 48:18Speaker 1: bites him though, and Loofy pulls back and he does
- 48:22Speaker 1: armament had hardening, and punches again and sends Hordy flying again.
- 48:30Speaker 1: It looks like there's actual smoke coming out of a
- 48:34Speaker 1: hole in his stomach, so I'm feeling like nice. But
- 48:39Speaker 1: then when Hordy skids to a stop, his stomach is fine,
- 48:42Speaker 1: there's nothing there anymore. It was very misleading. I thought
- 48:46Speaker 1: something had really happened there. His teeth pop out yet
- 48:50Speaker 1: again because he left them behind in Loofy's shoulder, and
- 48:56Speaker 1: Lufy has them like just lodged in his arm and
- 48:59Speaker 1: he he hasn't even bothered to take him out yet.
- 49:01Speaker 1: He's just standing there. It's kind of funny considering the
- 49:04Speaker 1: size of them, and understandably if he's starting to be like,
- 49:10Speaker 1: all right, the fuck is this? Like how many times
- 49:13Speaker 1: is he going to be able to get even stronger?
- 49:17Speaker 1: And Cordy says, I was like, how can my power
- 49:22Speaker 1: continue to surprise you? It was granted to me by
- 49:27Speaker 1: Heaven to overcome the humans, especially the likes of you. Again,
- 49:35Speaker 1: where is this from? What's the deal? No mortal can
- 49:41Speaker 1: best the power of the divine. I've surpassed the strength
- 49:45Speaker 1: of man and fishmen. No one can stop my revenge.
- 49:50Speaker 1: And he's saying this as his eyes are like bleeding
- 49:53Speaker 1: quite profusely. It is not good. Dude's in bad shape.
- 49:57Speaker 1: He is about to like just crash hard. It's not
- 50:02Speaker 1: going to be good. I am very curious if he
- 50:07Speaker 1: just shrinks back down to his normal size once this
- 50:10Speaker 1: begins to wear off or what.
- 50:15Speaker 2: So?
- 50:17Speaker 1: I forgot about how Oosup compliments Chopper in his giant form,
- 50:24Speaker 1: and Chopper starts to do that thing about like flattery
- 50:27Speaker 1: doesn't work on me, that like little Hula, and it
- 50:31Speaker 1: is really great, not only seeing it with this form,
- 50:35Speaker 1: but they do like an effect on Chopper's voice as well,
- 50:39Speaker 1: so he sounds crazy and when he's just like, no,
- 50:44Speaker 1: flattery won't work on me. And it's like the cutesy
- 50:47Speaker 1: thing that's usually Chopper, like his little voice, but it's
- 50:51Speaker 1: in this magnified almost doubled. It's very very weird sounding.
- 50:55Speaker 1: I liked this moment a lot. Us Up calls it creepy.
- 50:58Speaker 1: I don't agree. I just enjoy how weird it is.
- 51:02Speaker 1: But yeah, so guys, I just want to point out,
- 51:05Speaker 1: in the midst of all of this, we really don't
- 51:07Speaker 1: get a check in at all in these three episodes
- 51:10Speaker 1: with Nami or Robin. Robin has intermittently been in and
- 51:15Speaker 1: out with like the hand thing in the last episodes,
- 51:19Speaker 1: but there's a very very little of them in this one.
- 51:22Speaker 1: At one point we see that like there when there's
- 51:26Speaker 1: a bright flash, all of them looking and Robin's like
- 51:30Speaker 1: glasses giving a sort of bright yellow reflection, but the
- 51:37Speaker 1: actual fighting going on with them we don't see much
- 51:41Speaker 1: of at all. And I was a little bit disappointed
- 51:43Speaker 1: because I was excited when Sonjy or when Nami jumped
- 51:47Speaker 1: into the mix, and yet again we really get very
- 51:52Speaker 1: little of her actually fighting, and it feels like, I
- 51:55Speaker 1: don't know if just like Oda couldn't come up with
- 51:58Speaker 1: a lot for her tools to do and he felt limited,
- 52:03Speaker 1: or if it's just supposed to be that she's not
- 52:05Speaker 1: a fighter in the way that the others are and
- 52:07Speaker 1: so we shouldn't be expecting to see her like this.
- 52:11Speaker 1: But I just really thought after two years that we
- 52:13Speaker 1: would have more of her showing off the variety of
- 52:18Speaker 1: things that she can do, and so far there hasn't
- 52:22Speaker 1: been a lot that's brand new. It's been like more
- 52:25Speaker 1: powerful versions of things that she already could do. So
- 52:29Speaker 1: I'm hoping that we get a little bit more development
- 52:31Speaker 1: on that. But Okay, So back up to Hordy and Loofy.
- 52:39Speaker 1: He like finally comes like a full force at Loofy
- 52:46Speaker 1: and he does I think he does one of those
- 52:49Speaker 1: like bullet things. What is it that he sends his
- 52:52Speaker 1: way and Loofy goes down and he's just face down,
- 53:00Speaker 1: sliding down the deck of the ship because again they're
- 53:04Speaker 1: like on the currently vertical deck of the Noah, So
- 53:10Speaker 1: he is sliding. Everybody who is actually like keeping track
- 53:13Speaker 1: of the fight is really really flipped out because it
- 53:16Speaker 1: looks like maybe he is dead. But then as Lufi
- 53:21Speaker 1: is sliding, he brings his hand to his mouth. Now, guys,
- 53:24Speaker 1: I will be honest with you, I thought we were
- 53:28Speaker 1: about to see Lufy take one of those pills. And
- 53:30Speaker 1: I was sort of like, oh, damn, I know that
- 53:34Speaker 1: I shouldn't be cheering on the concept of Loofy taking drugs.
- 53:40Speaker 1: The whole point of this is that you know, our
- 53:42Speaker 1: friends are dealing with power that they earned fair and
- 53:44Speaker 1: square over the course of years with lots of training.
- 53:48Speaker 1: But it feels very much for me like a bit
- 53:52Speaker 1: of a fanfic thing that I would like to see happen.
- 53:55Speaker 1: What if Lufy did take one of those pills. Is
- 53:58Speaker 1: that a curiosity? But no, he is doing another armament
- 54:03Speaker 1: hardening and the fists that he creates is gigantic, and
- 54:12Speaker 1: he does gum gum elephant gun and punches Hordy all
- 54:18Speaker 1: the way back like through a few layers of the
- 54:22Speaker 1: ship with essentially a wrecking ball the size of a house.
- 54:28Speaker 1: And when he pulls his fist back, it's like his
- 54:31Speaker 1: fists stuck to Hordy's flesh. It's so weird. I don't
- 54:36Speaker 1: know what the animation is doing there, but it is
- 54:38Speaker 1: super creepy. And Lufy is just yelling like a shut up,
- 54:44Speaker 1: I have had enough of you, and he says elephant
- 54:47Speaker 1: gatling and then goes in with that same fist and
- 54:50Speaker 1: reminder like we were supposed to not damage this ship.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I just want to point that out. It seems like
- 54:56Speaker 1: he has kind of forgotten that. But oh, I guess
- 55:01Speaker 1: you know things have gotten to a point where you
- 55:03Speaker 1: gotta prioritize a little bit and getting rid of Hordy.
- 55:07Speaker 1: That's the thing. We go back down to Brook dealing
- 55:12Speaker 1: with Zeo and the slice that he does up Zeo's
- 55:15Speaker 1: middle with that like ice coming out of it, A
- 55:19Speaker 1: blood chilling wind howls from the Land of the Dead,
- 55:22Speaker 1: set skirts a flutter, oh this guy. And I'm looking
- 55:31Speaker 1: at the clock here and I am almost out of time,
- 55:34Speaker 1: so I'm just gonna sort of like jump and say
- 55:37Speaker 1: that the everybody that we're checking in on, they're mostly
- 55:43Speaker 1: fighting in similar ways but to what we have seen.
- 55:47Speaker 1: But we get something really interesting, in my opinion, from
- 55:50Speaker 1: Oosap because he does a green star and it's like
- 55:53Speaker 1: a red ball, and something sprouts from the back of
- 55:55Speaker 1: it and it almost looks like it's the ornament on
- 55:58Speaker 1: a Christmas tree. But then when the camera pulls back,
- 56:02Speaker 1: it's the nose at the tip of this wolf that's
- 56:04Speaker 1: like green. And Darman says that I will rip it
- 56:11Speaker 1: to shreds, but Usa points out the tip of its
- 56:14Speaker 1: nose and says, if you attack, that will release a
- 56:17Speaker 1: devastating shockwave three meters wide like this, And indeed, it's
- 56:24Speaker 1: like doesn't even quite have to touch him, and he calls
- 56:28Speaker 1: it impact Wolf and Dharman goes flying and screaming away.
- 56:36Speaker 1: This fucking hammerhead is just spinning in a cyclone, saying
- 56:42Speaker 1: doing the dosinest docin than ever dosan't did papara hammer
- 56:49Speaker 1: and comes at Chopper, who says cloven roseo palm. And
- 56:57Speaker 1: it's unclear to me exactly what Chopps attack does. His
- 57:02Speaker 1: fingers are like black, and I think that maybe they're
- 57:06Speaker 1: supposed to be his claws, but they just knock this
- 57:09Speaker 1: guy backward, and I'm not entirely sure if they're supposed
- 57:13Speaker 1: to be more to it than that, but it breaks
- 57:16Speaker 1: the tool that he was using. And then we have
- 57:21Speaker 1: this fucking squid guy who's got that light at the
- 57:24Speaker 1: top of his head. He's Frankie does Radical Beam and
- 57:31Speaker 1: he just shoots behind the guy and it's not even
- 57:35Speaker 1: like it hits him. It seems to like pass him.
- 57:39Speaker 2: And he.
- 57:42Speaker 1: Is in mid air, and that's when we see that
- 57:45Speaker 1: light that everybody is sort of blinded by for a moment.
- 57:49Speaker 1: I maybe it was supposed to have hit him, but
- 57:51Speaker 1: it doesn't look like it did in that animation. I'm
- 57:53Speaker 1: kind of unclear I think that that was a laser attack.
- 57:58Speaker 1: When we come back to the he is still doing
- 58:02Speaker 1: his elephant gun gatling, Jimbay is doing his fishman karate,
- 58:10Speaker 1: and he is handling the monk who is floating in
- 58:15Speaker 1: the air at this point, and somebody is like, did
- 58:18Speaker 1: he just spring a leak? All the air is going
- 58:21Speaker 1: to come out. I kind of thought we were going
- 58:22Speaker 1: to get a fart joke at this point, but no,
- 58:25Speaker 1: he just basically kind of vomits the air up. And
- 58:30Speaker 1: then our last check in with Sanjy, who comes up
- 58:35Speaker 1: to him in mid air and says, the last two
- 58:39Speaker 1: years were a stain upon my soul. Okay, we get it.
- 58:45Speaker 1: I went through hell. It isn't fair. I want to
- 58:50Speaker 1: burn those days to ashes. And he lights on fire,
- 58:54Speaker 1: yelling hell memories and kicks Wadatsumi. That's this according to
- 59:00Speaker 1: this subtitle, Thank you subtitles, and he lights on fire
- 59:06Speaker 1: and then just begins to sync to the ground like
- 59:08Speaker 1: a well sort of like a blimp. That's like, you know,
- 59:15Speaker 1: so you know, Like I said, guys, it's more interesting
- 59:21Speaker 1: attacks from our friends. But whenever we go back to Loofy,
- 59:28Speaker 1: it's sort of the same fight over and over.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Again.
- 59:31Speaker 1: I just feel like I keep seeing a lot of
- 59:33Speaker 1: the same types of it's punch, jump, run, punch, attack,
- 59:38Speaker 1: like sprinting toward punch again, a lot of the same.
- 59:46Speaker 1: It just there's no there's not even like a weapon
- 59:51Speaker 1: that oar Along is using or anything to mix it up.
- 59:55Speaker 1: But yeah, we see his body eventually like drop down,
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: and it looks like he goes through the outside bubble
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: of Fishman Island. He's like floating in mid air, so
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: to speak, and all of the soldiers and everything that
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: are watching this, they're looking on saying finally Hoardy's down,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: And we see Loofy continuing to pursue like he's going
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: to keep punching him. But the episode ends right there,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: and it just it was more abrupt than the endings
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: of these episodes usually are. He's like yelling and these
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: guys had just finished their sentence, and it felt like
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: really sudden and strange that point to stop it. But
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: you know, the episode is called Hoardy's Finally Down, But
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: I'm not sure if I believe it. I guess we're
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: gonna have to wait and see. All right, I have
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: got to wrap this up. My dog clearly really needs
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: to go to the bathroom. I'm so sorry, but thank
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: you guys again for bearing with me on everything. Thank you,
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Florian appreciates you a lot. I hope y'all are enjoying
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: the coverage and until next time to the loom. Motherfuckers.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: That was an unspoiled network past
