- 0:56Speaker 2: This portion of the program is brought to you by
- 0:59Speaker 2: Superior Air Repair. You did that on purpose. This is
- 1:03Speaker 2: like Pavlov's dog. When Bloody Mary morning comes on, I
- 1:07Speaker 2: grab for my telephone. Scott Clendenin is here. Mallory is
- 1:12Speaker 2: coming up at the bottom of the hour. You know,
- 1:18Speaker 2: I don't know why this is.
- 1:20Speaker 3: It hasn't.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It's flown under the radar because we're down here. But
- 1:24Speaker 2: Ohio State's without their quarterback the rest of the year.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 1:28Speaker 2: No, I think he's done. He's done. He has a
- 1:30Speaker 2: broken arm, I think. He's done.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Put some Robitussin on it.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah. If they get that far, I guess he could
- 1:39Speaker 2: come back at some point during the playoffs. I don't
- 1:43Speaker 2: know that. But huge blow for them.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Did they win the game without him?
- 1:48Speaker 5: No.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's only because Indiana stepped out of bounds. That was
- 1:55Speaker 2: a great game, too. That was a really good game.
- 1:59Speaker 3: By the way, Jacoby Jackson underwent foot surgery for Ohio State,
- 2:04Speaker 3: and he is out for an indefinite period of time.
- 2:06Speaker 6: See?
- 2:07Speaker 2: I mean, you don't know that stuff, but quarterback, especially
- 2:11Speaker 2: this day and age, right? And it's already been mentioned
- 2:15Speaker 2: by all the coaches. It's like, how would you have,
- 2:20Speaker 2: you know.
- 2:22Speaker 2: When you had Pat Mahomes and Baker Mayfield and who
- 2:27Speaker 2: was the third one?
- 2:27Speaker 3: Baker.
- 2:28Speaker 2: No, Baker Mayfield, Patrick Mahomes.
- 2:30Speaker 3: No, but they had the one that went whose dad
- 2:31Speaker 3: played at Texas. He transferred to Cal. Who was the one?
- 2:35Speaker 2: Not Gilbert.
- 2:36Speaker 5: No.
- 2:36Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 2:37Speaker 3: No, but his dad played at Texas. That's what I'm saying.
- 2:41Speaker 2: But anyway, my point being. He went to Cal and
- 2:44Speaker 2: started at Cal for two years. My point being, you're
- 2:46Speaker 2: not going to see that anymore. Okay? You're not going
- 2:49Speaker 2: to unless– somebody develops late or you get lucky or what,
- 2:55Speaker 2: you're not going to have that kind of depth at
- 2:58Speaker 2: that position.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Or his dad played at Ole Miss, and that's where
- 3:02Speaker 3: he decided to go play quarterback. Oh, wait, he went
- 3:04Speaker 3: to Texas.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Who was that?
- 3:07Speaker 6: Manning.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Oh, oh.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 2: You're not going to have that, right? I mean, I
- 3:12Speaker 2: just saw a thing this week, because speaking of Hornet's Nest,
- 3:17Speaker 2: I know you find this hard to believe, but the
- 3:18Speaker 2: people in Oklahoma aren't real happy. You know, they got
- 3:21Speaker 2: a great win two weeks ago, and then they lost
- 3:23Speaker 2: it home to Kentucky, and they still can't score. Well, see,
- 3:26Speaker 2: the problem was— And they still can't score.
- 3:28Speaker 3: The problem was they were favored in that game by
- 3:30Speaker 3: Las Vegas. I told you last— we talked about it. That
- 3:33Speaker 3: was craziness.
- 3:34Speaker 2: It was crazy. I don't know how that happened.
- 3:36Speaker 3: That they thought that Oklahoma would score enough to beat— Kentucky.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Kentucky.
- 3:41Speaker 7: No.
- 3:41Speaker 2: It was never going to happen.
- 3:43Speaker 3: And Kentucky was dumb to keep it as close as
- 3:45Speaker 3: it was.
- 3:46Speaker 7: True.
- 3:46Speaker 3: You couldn't take the field goal.
- 3:47Speaker 2: True. That was terrible. You know, he got full of himself.
- 3:52Speaker 6: Yes.
- 3:52Speaker 2: He needs to quit doing that or he's going to
- 3:55Speaker 2: get beat several times. Like I said, with the schedule
- 3:57Speaker 2: he has, he better quit going for it when you
- 4:01Speaker 2: could have a four-point lead.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Here is the– it says everything I want to know
- 4:07Speaker 3: about this. This is an ESPN story about Oklahoma's quarterback.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Oklahoma offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckles in his fourth year with
- 4:14Speaker 3: John Matera, and he knows that the quarterback is capable of.
- 4:17Speaker 3: From 44 touchdowns he accounted for when they were at
- 4:19Speaker 3: Washington State in 2024 to making the college football playoff
- 4:22Speaker 3: last season after they were together with the Sooners. Washington
- 4:27Speaker 3: State played a terrible schedule two years ago, and it
- 4:30Speaker 3: was fool's gold. And last year he did nothing to
- 4:34Speaker 3: get them into the college football playoff. Mateer did nothing.
- 4:37Speaker 2: No.
- 4:37Speaker 3: So don't say you know what you got. You got
- 4:41Speaker 3: a guy who did.
- 4:42Speaker 2: The other thing he said, Scott, was, He gives us
- 4:46Speaker 2: our best chance to win. Where have we heard that
- 4:49Speaker 2: in college football this year? Everywhere. Everywhere.
- 4:51Speaker 3: I'm not saying it doesn't.
- 4:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 3: But don't act like he can be the quarterback he
- 4:57Speaker 3: was at Washington State.
- 4:58Speaker 2: He's on the, you know, our buckle is on the
- 5:01Speaker 2: hottest of hot seats. I don't expect him to come back. Despite,
- 5:04Speaker 2: you know, being a big friend of the coach, I
- 5:08Speaker 2: just don't think he's coming back. The coach may not
- 5:10Speaker 2: be back. You know who else is on the hot seat?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Lose more games and you may not be back as
- 5:14Speaker 3: the coach at Oklahoma.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: They'll find the money in Oklahoma. They got oil money.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Wait, they just gave him a contract extension.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yes, they did. Yes, they did.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I thought A & M was the only one who
- 5:23Speaker 3: did that.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh, no. No, no.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Has Texas given Sarkeesian.
- 5:27Speaker 2: A contract extension? I think they're working on it as
- 5:30Speaker 2: we speak. I forgot where I was going with that now.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Oh, coordinators.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Point blank ask about the Alabama coordinator. coordinator do you
- 5:44Speaker 2: think he's doing a good job now i just had
- 5:46Speaker 2: that on last hour in case you missed the coach
- 5:50Speaker 2: i mean they are screaming and i i i get
- 5:55Speaker 2: it i understand it i will say um it's it's
- 6:04Speaker 2: amazing and it's this has been going on for about
- 6:06Speaker 2: 20 years scott but I believe that in the old
- 6:10Speaker 2: days of college football, and I don't know how far
- 6:13Speaker 2: back you have to go to say the old days
- 6:14Speaker 2: of college football, the coordinators, nobody talked about them. It
- 6:20Speaker 2: was all the head coach. It was the head coach.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Nobody talked about coordinators. And now that the coordinators, and
- 6:27Speaker 2: part of it is they're making a lot more money
- 6:30Speaker 2: than they used to.
- 6:31Speaker 3: A lot more, right?
- 6:32Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And you have so many more venues for people to
- 6:38Speaker 2: vent and to talk about it. But now the popular
- 6:43Speaker 2: theory is if you change coordinators, everything will match. All
- 6:48Speaker 2: your problems will magically disappear.
- 6:50Speaker 3: So I'm going to ask you a question, Chip. In 1987,
- 6:54Speaker 3: when the Aggies got off to a rough start, Well,
- 7:03Speaker 3: they changed coordinators. And Lynn Amity lost his job to,
- 7:09Speaker 3: what's his name, who is from Oregon. And he went
- 7:12Speaker 3: to be the Cowboys special teams coordinator.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Okay?
- 7:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 3: The talk all around here was about the coordinator.
- 7:19Speaker 6: True.
- 7:20Speaker 3: It's not just the dude.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Because you're fired in the middle of the season.
- 7:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It doesn't happen often.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Kevin Sumlin getting elevated.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Kevin Sumlin got elevated. Yep, yep. Oh, it's happened. I'm
- 7:29Speaker 2: not saying it hasn't happened. There's just not nearly as
- 7:32Speaker 2: much scrutiny. It happened with the coaches, for sure, right?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Because they're trying to keep their job. But the public
- 7:41Speaker 2: scrutiny from the fans is so much worse now. So
- 7:46Speaker 2: much worse.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Well, can you hold the players accountable?
- 7:50Speaker 7: No.
- 7:51Speaker 2: Apparently not.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Is the player... Is the player... at Michigan, is the
- 7:57Speaker 3: quarterback at Michigan making more than the offensive coordinator?
- 8:01Speaker 2: Probably.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Probably so.
- 8:03Speaker 3: And you can't, you can't hold that quarterback accountable?
- 8:07Speaker 2: Oh, I think you should hold the quarterback accountable. I
- 8:10Speaker 2: think all the players should be held accountable. You know, that's,
- 8:14Speaker 2: that's the world in which we live today. And like
- 8:16Speaker 2: I said, that's the world in which everybody is wanted. Correct.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I'm still, I'm not against it. I don't, I'm a
- 8:26Speaker 2: free market guy. If you want to pay a quarterback
- 8:28Speaker 2: $ 5 million and you think that's what he's worth on
- 8:30Speaker 2: the market, by all means, pay him $ 5 million. If
- 8:33Speaker 2: you've got people who will write that check, I've got
- 8:35Speaker 2: no problem with that. I have no problem with it.
- 8:39Speaker 3: But is it okay for a guy in Michigan to
- 8:43Speaker 3: be mad? Okay, let's talk Michigan. Is it okay for
- 8:49Speaker 3: a guy in Dallas, Texas, to be mad that Dak
- 8:52Speaker 3: Prescott is not playing like the highest quarterback?
- 8:58Speaker 6: Oh, sure.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Absolutely, they're upset with that. But he can't be upset
- 9:01Speaker 3: that Arch Manning's not doing the same thing.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely. So who's the offense coordinator in Austin? The
- 9:09Speaker 2: head coach.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Wait, no, no.
- 9:14Speaker 2: The head coach.
- 9:15Speaker 3: So how is he not on the hot seat then, Chip?
- 9:18Speaker 3: You've ruined.
- 9:19Speaker 2: He's not on the hot seat.
- 9:21Speaker 3: You've ruined... Chip, you have way underachieved. You have way
- 9:25Speaker 3: underachieved with the best two quarterbacks.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I trust Kurt Bulls.
- 9:30Speaker 3: With the best two quarterbacks.
- 9:31Speaker 2: And I trust the people that cover that program. If
- 9:33Speaker 2: they say he's not getting fired this year.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I'm not saying not getting fired.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Oh, he's on the hot seat.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I'm saying being held accountable.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Oh, he is being held accountable.
- 9:44Speaker 3: For ruining.
- 9:45Speaker 2: And yours and.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Manning and not winning anything with the two best quarterbacks
- 9:50Speaker 3: of the generation.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Both of them.
- 9:52Speaker 3: The number one, yours, the perfect, the highest recruiting ranking
- 9:56Speaker 3: of all time until Arch Manning came along. You got
- 9:59Speaker 3: the high. recruiting ranking of all time.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Until Michigan's quarterback got the highest recruiting ranking of all time.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I don't think you're going to have any argument from
- 10:10Speaker 2: any fan in Austin when you say Sark has done
- 10:17Speaker 2: a horrible job with the offense. He needs to hire
- 10:21Speaker 2: an offensive coordinator. He needs somebody else calling the plays.
- 10:26Speaker 2: And I don't think there's anybody that doesn't believe that
- 10:29Speaker 2: and that he has not been a great developer of
- 10:34Speaker 2: quarterback talent. I don't think you're going to hear anybody
- 10:38Speaker 2: who follows that program say anything else.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:42Speaker 2: How could you? I mean, how could you? Do you
- 10:46Speaker 2: think people over there defending him and how he calls
- 10:49Speaker 2: plays right now are defending how he's handled quarterbacks? I
- 10:53Speaker 2: don't think so.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I don't think so either.
- 10:56Speaker 2: But he's not losing his job this year.
- 10:59Speaker 3: And Manning's not losing his job?
- 11:00Speaker 2: I don't know about that.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Is it better or worse if Manning loses his job?
- 11:06Speaker 2: I don't know the answer to that either. You know?
- 11:10Speaker 3: Because let's go back to John Makovic. who wouldn't take
- 11:13Speaker 3: the job away from Chris Simms when Applewhite was clearly
- 11:18Speaker 3: the better quarterback. Now, we don't know if the other
- 11:20Speaker 3: guy at Texas is clearly the better quarterback. You don't
- 11:23Speaker 3: know if the other guy at Alabama?
- 11:25Speaker 2: No, I think that was Mack Brown, actually, with Applewhite
- 11:28Speaker 2: and Chris Simms. It was Mack Brown.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Clearly the better quarterback. Okay. I don't know if anybody
- 11:35Speaker 3: knows if A & M has a clearly better quarterback.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Or Oklahoma does. Or Michigan. Or Alabama.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Because we haven't seen them, is what you're saying.
- 11:42Speaker 6: Right.
- 11:44Speaker 2: So are you advocating changes here?
- 11:49Speaker 3: I don't think. Did anything happen in the game last
- 11:52Speaker 3: week to make you think that there should be a
- 11:54Speaker 3: change in quarterback for.
- 11:55Speaker 1: A & M?
- 11:56Speaker 2: No, not really.
- 11:57Speaker 5: No.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:59Speaker 2: You're playing a citadel. How can you even, you know.
- 12:02Speaker 2: That's apples and oranges.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I don't know how the kid at Austin would play
- 12:10Speaker 2: a same kind of thing. We've seen him, what, 15 plays,
- 12:14Speaker 2: 20 plays against bad competition. Who knows? But I will
- 12:19Speaker 2: say this. I would personally, as a head coach, in
- 12:23Speaker 2: any situation, if you have a quarterback not getting the
- 12:26Speaker 2: job done, you cannot win. You cannot win in this
- 12:31Speaker 2: day and age. with poor quarterback play. So what I'm
- 12:35Speaker 2: going to do is I don't, in the highest pressure programs,
- 12:42Speaker 2: I'm just going to, if things don't go well, I'm
- 12:47Speaker 2: going to bring him out of the bullpen like you
- 12:48Speaker 2: would a relief pitcher with a great starting pitcher. You
- 12:54Speaker 2: name who you want that doesn't have his stuff that day, right?
- 12:57Speaker 2: You bring him in. You go, well, he can't do worse.
- 13:00Speaker 2: He's terrible. We will see what kind of leashes these
- 13:05Speaker 2: guys are on with the coaches. Like, if you go
- 13:09Speaker 2: to Alabama on Saturday afternoon and Marcel, the first half,
- 13:15Speaker 2: has six points and you're down 21-6 because you haven't
- 13:20Speaker 2: put the ball in the end zone, he hasn't completed passes,
- 13:25Speaker 2: do you bring in the backup?
- 13:27Speaker 3: That's what we talked about. Against LSU, Connor Wigman... Was
- 13:31Speaker 3: down there.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah. And he went to Reed. And he comes to
- 13:34Speaker 2: our cell.
- 13:35Speaker 3: And he got the spark.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yep.
- 13:36Speaker 3: And Reed was your starting quarterback from then on.
- 13:38Speaker 7: Yep.
- 13:39Speaker 3: And Connor went off to Houston.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yep.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 13:42Speaker 6: Yep.
- 13:43Speaker 3: The problem is, Chip, I don't know in a lot
- 13:45Speaker 3: of these places if you can do that because of
- 13:47Speaker 3: the money.
- 13:49Speaker 2: If you can sit him down because of the money.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I will tell you this, and this is just from me,
- 13:55Speaker 2: because I don't know how it works. Okay. I don't
- 13:57Speaker 2: know how it works. But I would say if I'm
- 14:00Speaker 2: the head coach, I don't give a damn how much
- 14:04Speaker 2: a player is making. If he cannot put results on
- 14:07Speaker 2: the field, my job's on the line. I'm bringing him
- 14:11Speaker 2: off the bench. And I'm putting that guy on the
- 14:14Speaker 2: bench if he's making $ 10 million. If he can't win
- 14:17Speaker 2: the game for me, my job is next. So I'm
- 14:21Speaker 2: putting the other guy in. Now, that may not work out.
- 14:25Speaker 2: But I'm going to try it. Because I'm drowning with
- 14:28Speaker 2: what I'm doing right now. It hasn't worked. So I'm
- 14:33Speaker 2: going to bring the guy in and just see under pressure,
- 14:36Speaker 2: can this guy play? I might be surprised.
- 14:38Speaker 3: So halftime, Ole Miss and Texas. Halftime?
- 14:43Speaker 2: I wouldn't wait until halftime.
- 14:44Speaker 3: No, you just said if it was 21, if it's 26, you.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Know what I'm saying? Yeah, but in any game. I
- 14:50Speaker 2: said halftime in any game.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Right now, go watch the Nick Saban thing on benching
- 14:57Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts for Tua.
- 14:58Speaker 6: I saw that.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I saw it. In episode two.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 2: By the way, if you guys haven't seen the Saban
- 15:03Speaker 2: documentary on ESPN, it's really good. You need to watch it.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Right there. There you go.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:09Speaker 3: But the difference is you didn't have a $ 5 million
- 15:12Speaker 3: player and a million dollar player. Do you think that
- 15:14Speaker 3: would have mattered to Saban? I think that's why Saban's
- 15:17Speaker 3: not coaching anymore, Chip.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I don't think it would have mattered to him. I
- 15:21Speaker 2: don't think that's why he's not coaching anymore, but I
- 15:24Speaker 2: don't think it would have mattered to him. I... And
- 15:27Speaker 2: if you do, he's not as great as I thought
- 15:29Speaker 2: he was.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Now, I will say that all year long, I heard
- 15:32Speaker 3: that Tua was a better quarterback than Hurts.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Or a better passer. At that point, a passer, right?
- 15:39Speaker 2: Hurts was not.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Right.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Hurts made himself into a really good passing quarterback, right?
- 15:45Speaker 3: Yes.
- 15:46Speaker 2: I mean, he did. He made himself into a really
- 15:49Speaker 2: good passing quarterback.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Well, Oklahoma made him into that.
- 15:51Speaker 2: He made himself into a good passing quarterback. Right. But
- 15:54Speaker 2: he was not at that point. But my point is, look.
- 15:57Speaker 2: You're the head coach. Your job's on the line, right? Yes.
- 16:00Speaker 2: These guys are smart enough to know that.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Well, so the national championship was on the line.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Again, it's Nick freaking Saban, which is why he's at
- 16:07Speaker 2: the top of Mount Rushmore, because he made those kind
- 16:10Speaker 2: of decisions.
- 16:12Speaker 3: So you have to make the decision. You have to
- 16:14Speaker 3: do it.
- 16:14Speaker 2: In my mind, yes. I don't... And quarterback's just one position, right?
- 16:20Speaker 2: I'm going to be the same at every position, Scott.
- 16:23Speaker 2: If my offense is dying, and I'm just not talking
- 16:27Speaker 2: about Austin. Let's talk about what's going on here. And
- 16:30Speaker 2: he has made some changes in the offensive line. He
- 16:33Speaker 2: has tried different combinations, right?
- 16:36Speaker 3: Which is playing with fire.
- 16:38Speaker 2: It is, but hey. You're getting, you know, it's not working.
- 16:43Speaker 2: The only position he hasn't really changed so far is
- 16:47Speaker 2: the big one. And again, if I'm the coach and
- 16:53Speaker 2: things don't go well, given what we've already seen six
- 16:57Speaker 2: games halfway into the season, I'm not saying I'm putting
- 17:02Speaker 2: this guy on the bench for the rest of the year.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Unless you have a situation where the guy comes in,
- 17:09Speaker 2: Brings your team back, lights it up like Marcel did
- 17:12Speaker 2: against LSU. I didn't mind that change. Now, it doesn't
- 17:15Speaker 2: look great right now, but at the time.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Wait, Chip. Houston ain't playing nobody like this.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I don't care about that. I'm talking about how a
- 17:25Speaker 2: quarterback plays. Okay?
- 17:27Speaker 3: Period.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I'm not talking about who he's playing against. Houston has
- 17:31Speaker 2: plenty of competition. Wegman's been great.
- 17:34Speaker 3: This year.
- 17:35Speaker 2: This year. He wasn't so great last year.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Marcel Reed was great.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Marcel Reed was good last year.
- 17:44Speaker 3: He was a Heisman contender until he lost to Texas.
- 17:48Speaker 2: He was your Heisman contender. I don't think he was
- 17:50Speaker 2: on anybody's top five list.
- 17:52Speaker 3: So was Wegman on your top five list?
- 17:54Speaker 2: Right now, no. Of course not.
- 17:56Speaker 5: No.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Marcel played better last year than Wegman's playing this year.
- 18:00Speaker 2: No, I disagree with that completely. I totally disagree with that.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Wegman's playing much better this year than Marcel played last year.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I would totally not agree with that statement at all.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Let's go back to the coaching and the decisions.
- 18:14Speaker 3: But I think that every position, you've already done it
- 18:20Speaker 3: in your past. Every position.
- 18:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Okay.
- 18:23Speaker 3: The question is, will the coach at Alabama do it
- 18:27Speaker 3: in the exact same thing? Because he hasn't been in
- 18:29Speaker 3: this position.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Well, he hasn't been in the fire. We also had
- 18:34Speaker 2: Michael Penix at Washington, right? Right. I mean, he's got
- 18:37Speaker 2: a pretty good quarterback right now. I don't think he's—quarterback's
- 18:41Speaker 2: not the issue to me at Alabama, okay? If you're
- 18:44Speaker 2: talking about DeBoer and some of the decisions he's making,
- 18:47Speaker 2: to me, that is the least of his problems right now.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Yes, because obviously the other guy wasn't good enough.
- 18:54Speaker 2: He wasn't good enough, and look— again just like a
- 18:57Speaker 2: and m they've got receiver issues too i would have
- 19:01Speaker 2: throw that in too it's not again we've i've said
- 19:04Speaker 2: this from the beginning it's not all barcel okay they've
- 19:08Speaker 2: had they've had some issues there okay now he hasn't
- 19:11Speaker 2: been good and i haven't said he's been good but
- 19:14Speaker 2: their offensive line has not been good receivers not be
- 19:18Speaker 2: good now in austin There's nothing wrong with that receiving
- 19:22Speaker 2: core in Austin, although the guy they're paying whatever $ 5
- 19:25Speaker 2: million to, I don't think has lived up to the billing,
- 19:27Speaker 2: but one of the reasons he hasn't lived up to
- 19:29Speaker 2: the billing is the quarterback can't get him the football.
- 19:32Speaker 2: The quarterback can't get him the football is because he
- 19:35Speaker 2: hasn't been very good, he's hesitant in the pocket, he's
- 19:38Speaker 2: not making good decisions, and his offensive line sucks. Okay?
- 19:43Speaker 2: They're terrible.
- 19:44Speaker 6: Alright?
- 19:45Speaker 2: And the offensive line here hadn't been very good either. Now,
- 19:49Speaker 2: Marcel's protection, in my mind, hasn't been terrible. There have
- 19:54Speaker 2: been a game here or a game there where you say, well, that.
- 19:59Speaker 3: LSU notwithstanding.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Notwithstanding. Okay? Notwithstanding. But in terms of protection and creating
- 20:06Speaker 2: a pocket, they haven't been terrible here. Okay, I will
- 20:10Speaker 2: say this. Oh, much worse. Yeah, but, again, that goes
- 20:15Speaker 2: hand in hand. I don't think the plays, he's given
- 20:20Speaker 2: him plays that fit his strengths, and his decision-making has
- 20:24Speaker 2: been really slow and poor. And so I don't care
- 20:28Speaker 2: what kind of offensive line you have, right? If you're
- 20:31Speaker 2: sitting back in the pocket for five seconds, you're going
- 20:34Speaker 2: to get hammered, and especially in this league, right?
- 20:37Speaker 5: Yes.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Any team. You sit back there that long, you're going
- 20:41Speaker 2: to get hammered. So it all goes together. But, hey, quarterback,
- 20:48Speaker 2: you've got to have good quarterback play. You just have to.
- 20:51Speaker 2: And if you're not getting it, in my mind, I
- 20:55Speaker 2: don't care how much this guy's getting paid. I don't
- 20:57Speaker 2: care what his name is. I don't care who his
- 21:00Speaker 2: parents are. His uncles. Uncles, aunts. He's coming out, and
- 21:06Speaker 2: I'm just going to see– what I can get from
- 21:08Speaker 2: the other guy. Right, wrong, or indifferent.
- 21:14Speaker 3: If you're already losing, what does it matter?
- 21:17Speaker 2: I mean, if you've been terrible, what does it matter?
- 21:21Speaker 2: What are you going to be? More terrible? You could
- 21:24Speaker 2: be more terrible. You could, but are you going to
- 21:27Speaker 2: lose by 20 instead of 10?
- 21:29Speaker 8: I mean.
- 21:30Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Look, I will say again with quarterbacks, I think it's
- 21:35Speaker 2: a different breed. I'm not saying necessarily here. If you
- 21:41Speaker 2: pull Marcel, if he had a poor outing somewhere, not
- 21:45Speaker 2: just any time, right? I'm going and you put the
- 21:49Speaker 2: other guy in and just say, hey, let's just see.
- 21:53Speaker 2: That doesn't mean this guy is going to be the
- 21:56Speaker 2: quarterback the rest of the year, that Marcel is going
- 21:58Speaker 2: to be on the bench. A lot of.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Controversy, Chip.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I don't care about that. I'm the coach, man. Let
- 22:05Speaker 2: the cesspool talk.
- 22:07Speaker 3: I'm the coach.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I'm going to make the decision that's best for my
- 22:10Speaker 2: team that I think gives me the best chance to
- 22:12Speaker 2: win the football game. I don't care how much that
- 22:14Speaker 2: player's getting paid. It don't matter to me. Am I
- 22:19Speaker 2: being naive? Maybe. Maybe. But I'll say again, my job's
- 22:25Speaker 2: on the line, too.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:27Speaker 2: My job is on the line. And if you ain't
- 22:29Speaker 2: playing up to standards, your butt's on the bench. I
- 22:33Speaker 2: don't care what position you play. That's me.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Without a doubt, Chip.
- 22:39Speaker 2: So that's why I love this game, man. I love
- 22:42Speaker 2: this game. I just, it's so fun to watch. But
- 22:48Speaker 2: I just don't see, when I'm looking at, and when
- 22:50Speaker 2: I saw Trinidad Chambliss, and he was kind of forgotten about, Scott,
- 22:55Speaker 2: when Florida went, you know, just beat their rear ends.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 2: He kind of slid down. But, oh, my gosh. I
- 23:02Speaker 2: don't know if you watched any of the highlights in Missouri.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I mean, I didn't watch the game.
- 23:06Speaker 3: No, I did not.
- 23:06Speaker 6: Okay.
- 23:08Speaker 2: This guy is still Trinidad freaking Chambliss, okay? He threw
- 23:12Speaker 2: three dimes when it was 21-6 at half. Those three
- 23:15Speaker 2: touchdown passes he threw. There's nobody in the country that
- 23:19Speaker 2: would have thrown a better ball than he did on those.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And he was just as good in the second half,
- 23:22Speaker 2: by the way. But, I mean, this guy can play,
- 23:27Speaker 2: all right? He's really good. Gunnar Stockton had been taking
- 23:31Speaker 2: care of the football. I don't think he's a caretaker quarterback.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I think he's a pretty good quarterback. But he hadn't.
- 23:38Speaker 2: He hadn't thrown interceptions.
- 23:40Speaker 3: And he hadn't fumbled.
- 23:40Speaker 2: He hadn't fumbled.
- 23:42Speaker 3: And those were two bad turnovers.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Bad turnovers, right? Bad turnovers. Look at BYU and Notre Dame.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Both of them had turnovers and a stupid call by
- 23:55Speaker 2: the BYU coach on the fake punt that almost cost
- 23:58Speaker 2: them the game.
- 23:59Speaker 3: That was a Kirby fake punt.
- 24:01Speaker 2: No, it wasn't.
- 24:02Speaker 3: No, when Kirby does it and it fails, it fails
- 24:05Speaker 3: spectacularly like that one.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Oh, good God. The punter's moving toward the line of
- 24:11Speaker 2: scrimmage before he even caught the snap. He is moving
- 24:15Speaker 2: left to the line of scrimmage before he caught the
- 24:18Speaker 2: snap on your own 25-yard line in a one-score game.
- 24:24Speaker 2: If they had won, I may have fired the coach
- 24:26Speaker 2: on the spot for a stupid call like that. But
- 24:29Speaker 2: that's neither here nor there. The quarterback play, when you
- 24:33Speaker 2: look at these games this weekend, Ashton Daniel, I don't
- 24:39Speaker 2: know where that came from. He looked like a guy
- 24:43Speaker 2: that Florida State was counting on to win football games
- 24:45Speaker 2: against Miami the other night.
- 24:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 2: I mean, I'm going, where has this been?
- 24:51Speaker 3: Will it be there next week? Yeah, exactly.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I mean, that's a fair question because I hadn't seen it.
- 24:57Speaker 2: But he was spectacular against Miami.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Well, Miami hadn't played anybody, had they?
- 25:02Speaker 2: They hadn't played good competition, but I still think Miami's
- 25:06Speaker 2: really good.
- 25:06Speaker 3: What about Indiana?
- 25:08Speaker 2: Indiana? Here's what happened with Indiana. They had not fumbled
- 25:15Speaker 2: the football since the first game a year ago. 22-game
- 25:21Speaker 2: winning streak. They had not fumbled the football.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Ohio State know that?
- 25:27Speaker 2: They fumbled it twice.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Did Ohio State know that?
- 25:29Speaker 2: I think they had probably been made aware of that
- 25:33Speaker 2: defensively going into that game.
- 25:35Speaker 3: You mean strips of football?
- 25:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yeah. So, I mean, turnovers and quarterbacks, man. In this league,
- 25:43Speaker 2: I'm just telling you, turnovers.
- 25:44Speaker 3: It's the top of every league.
- 25:46Speaker 6: Sure.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Sure it is. Turnovers and quarterbacks. And with that, we
- 25:52Speaker 2: have to bid you adieu.
- 25:53Speaker 3: We'll see you next week, Jeff.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Scott Glendon is with us on Wednesdays. Do you know
- 26:01Speaker 2: coming up Sunday, parents, grandparents, it's Trick or Treat Street

- 26:38Speaker 2: this city. It's becoming a great music town, and the
- 26:45Speaker 2: people in Bryan have been very intentional about that. There

- 29:27Speaker 6: We're not starting off with deaths this time?
- 29:29Speaker 2: No, we are not. Nothing gets my energy up late.
- 29:33Speaker 6: Oh, wait, we are?
- 29:35Speaker 2: Well, it's Dolly. I told you we were going to
- 29:39Speaker 2: talk about Dolly. dolly today right.
- 29:41Speaker 5: Yeah i don't know why in my brain i was
- 29:44Speaker 5: like why dolly like girl unfortunately passed.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Away a little bit couple of months you know but
- 29:52Speaker 2: tonight drama tonight no tonight CMA presents I Will Always

- 30:19Speaker 2: Are you ready for the lineup?
- 30:22Speaker 6: I'm so ready. Do we have enough time?
- 30:25Speaker 2: Not necessarily in this order. You're going to have to
- 30:29Speaker 2: help me with some of these. Ashley McBride, I know.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Bella Fleck, I don't know. Do you know Bella Fleck?
- 30:37Speaker 6: I don't know Bella Fleck.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Brad Paisley. Carly Pierce. Carrie Underwood. Darius Rucker. Ella Langley.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Kelsey Ballerini. Kristen Bell. Kristen Chenoweth. We got a couple
- 30:56Speaker 2: of actresses there.
- 30:57Speaker 6: I'm surprised. I mean, not surprised with Kristen Bell. She
- 31:01Speaker 6: can sing. But sorry, keep going.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Lady A. Lainey Wilson. Little Big Town. Lucas Nelson. Molly Tuttle. Reber.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Ricky Skaggs. Sierra Hull. Vince Gill. Zach Browne. And more,
- 31:25Speaker 2: including surprise tributes from friends across the entertainment world featured
- 31:31Speaker 2: throughout the special. No Miley Cyrus?
- 31:37Speaker 5: It's Miley!
- 31:39Speaker 2: You know, that's interesting.
- 31:41Speaker 6: I only asked that because that's.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Literally her godmother. She's the goddaughter, right?
- 31:46Speaker 6: Yeah, they were very close.
- 31:49Speaker 2: Miley Cyrus. Didn't we talk about this yesterday? Is Miley
- 31:54Speaker 2: back on tour, I think?
- 31:58Speaker 6: I don't know if she's back on tour.
- 31:59Speaker 5: I know she did do some kind of a halftime
- 32:02Speaker 5: performance for something.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Okay. She was criticized for it.
- 32:08Speaker 6: Was she really? I think.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Her voice she doesn't like to tour she's been very
- 32:15Speaker 5: vocal about that that's why I would be surprised I
- 32:19Speaker 5: know she does festivals and.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Stuff like that I don't know why I'm looking this
- 32:28Speaker 2: up to see if I can find something yes she
- 32:35Speaker 2: was at the Hollywood.
- 32:36Speaker 6: Bowl there you go something.
- 32:40Speaker 2: She wasn't happy about the criticism. I'm trying to see.
- 32:48Speaker 5: You've been in this industry long enough to get over it.
- 32:52Speaker 2: She actually paid tribute to Dolly by singing Jolene, which
- 32:58Speaker 2: I've seen her do before. And I thought it was
- 33:01Speaker 2: really good, you know.
- 33:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 33:07Speaker 6: She does have a unique voice. But why were they
- 33:10Speaker 6: criticizing her? They didn't like it?
- 33:12Speaker 2: They didn't like the voice. She responds to the criticism saying,
- 33:20Speaker 2: I'm fully present. She called out the clickbait videos of
- 33:27Speaker 2: her not fully investing herself in the performance because she
- 33:31Speaker 2: didn't sing every word of the songs. I never heard
- 33:35Speaker 2: that I don't put my heart into something, she said.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I don't know if any of you heard that. That
- 33:41Speaker 2: somebody was doing commentary to get clickbait on their video
- 33:44Speaker 2: talking about my show Friday night. I'm a lot of things,
- 33:48Speaker 2: and we're not even going to entertain that. Anytime she's
- 33:53Speaker 2: done something, she said, it's controversial. It used to be
- 34:00Speaker 2: a lot of fun. It still can be. it's hard
- 34:05Speaker 2: for me to stand up here and do this show.
- 34:08Speaker 2: It does not come as natural as it once did.
- 34:12Speaker 2: We change, we evolve, we grow. She said, this is
- 34:17Speaker 2: an experience for me. You all make the experience possible.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I can take a lot, but one thing I will
- 34:25Speaker 2: not stand is any question about where my heart is
- 34:28Speaker 2: when I'm on stage. I'm fully present.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Man, she really didn't give them any energy.
- 34:38Speaker 2: So there you go.
- 34:39Speaker 6: She didn't care.
- 34:40Speaker 5: She showed them.
- 34:43Speaker 2: So she was in L.A. as late as Sunday, but
- 34:47Speaker 2: that doesn't mean she can't fly to Nashville. So I
- 34:50Speaker 2: don't know. Maybe she will be on the show. I
- 34:53Speaker 2: don't know.
- 34:53Speaker 5: We'll see.
- 34:54Speaker 6: I guess we'll find out.
- 34:56Speaker 2: Look, whether she is or she isn't, it's going to
- 34:59Speaker 2: be a great show.
- 35:00Speaker 6: Yes.
- 35:01Speaker 2: A lot of talented people in a room. I'm all in.
- 35:05Speaker 2: And you're a Dancing with the Stars person.
- 35:07Speaker 5: I was about to say, you know, yes, and for
- 35:10Speaker 5: it being Dancing with the Stars season, I have not
- 35:12Speaker 5: really talked about it much.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I'm told there was a lot of drama last night.
- 35:19Speaker 5: Well, not necessarily last night, but definitely after last week.
- 35:24Speaker 6: So it's been like a week of drama. So it
- 35:26Speaker 6: all started.
- 35:28Speaker 5: Um, literally last week, tensions flew, uh, when Carrie Ann
- 35:32Speaker 5: Inaba results, basically her criticism or her, I.
- 35:36Speaker 6: Mean, she's judging. That's her.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:38Speaker 5: That's the point, um, of Harry, uh, Shum Jr. And
- 35:41Speaker 5: Jenna Johnson Samba last week. During her on-air critiques, she
- 35:48Speaker 5: pointed out that there had been a lift in the routine,
- 35:50Speaker 5: which isn't supported in the dance, and read.
- 35:53Speaker 6: Basically the definition out loud. So I did watch this
- 35:56Speaker 6: because I'm nosy, and I watch the show. Basically, I
- 36:00Speaker 6: think there was a miscommunication.
- 36:02Speaker 5: I think the pro-Jenna thought she couldn't be lifted, but...
- 36:06Speaker 5: technically Harry was lifted by two male dancers because none
- 36:09Speaker 5: of this is actually you know they don't do proper
- 36:12Speaker 5: full sambas anyway so she read her the definition of
- 36:15Speaker 5: what a lift was and that got a little heat
- 36:17Speaker 5: after that her husband Val yeah.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Yeah the dancer.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Posted then deleted a TikTok in response to Carrie Ann's
- 36:26Speaker 5: criticism over his wife in it he alluded to the
- 36:29Speaker 5: Will Smith slapping.
- 36:30Speaker 6: Chris Rock in the.
- 36:32Speaker 5: 2022 Oscars in defense of his wife um Yep, and
- 36:37Speaker 5: he did write, almost saw Fresh Prince enter the ballroom.
- 36:41Speaker 5: He quickly apologized, obviously seeing how the joke could be
- 36:45Speaker 5: kind of taken in a wrong way because he's talking
- 36:47Speaker 5: about a female judge, things like that. It was a
- 36:50Speaker 5: little touchy. He did apologize publicly and personally. The result
- 36:56Speaker 5: of that was that he was suspended for a week, essentially.
- 37:00Speaker 5: So the well-being of everyone who works at Dancing with
- 37:03Speaker 5: the Stars is non-negotiable. Foul social media post was inappropriate.
- 37:07Speaker 5: It does not reflect the values or standards expected of
- 37:10Speaker 5: anyone connected with the show. As a result, he will
- 37:14Speaker 5: not participate in next week's show.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Oh, good gosh. So he didn't hit anybody. He didn't
- 37:19Speaker 2: slap anybody. He just said he was going to go
- 37:23Speaker 2: all Will Smith on them, right?
- 37:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Oh, come on.
- 37:27Speaker 6: There was that. So with that being said, he did
- 37:31Speaker 6: not dance yesterday. And his Al, Alan, Alan interrupted, which
- 37:37Speaker 6: I will say, and a lot of people are saying this.
- 37:39Speaker 6: I think Alan is a better fit for Jenna.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 37:45Speaker 5: Jenna is Val's wife, but also his partner's name is Jenna.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 37:50Speaker 6: So it's weird, but.
- 37:51Speaker 5: We had more because there was a reunion at Dancing
- 37:55Speaker 5: with the Stars for the, Nice.
- 37:57Speaker 6: Of the 10 Things I Hate About You cast.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Yeah, so Julia Stiles brought 90s nostalgia and the waterworks
- 38:04Speaker 5: into the ballroom. It was dedication night, so there was
- 38:07Speaker 5: a lot of emotional dances.
- 38:08Speaker 2: There's so many emotions on dedication night.
- 38:12Speaker 5: They are, and she paid tribute to Heath Ledger, so
- 38:15Speaker 5: that's why the 10 Things I Hate About You cast
- 38:17Speaker 5: did come out, because they were the two stars of
- 38:19Speaker 5: that movie. She did take center stage to Tuesday night
- 38:24Speaker 5: and show an emotional dedication, performing a contemporary routine to
- 38:30Speaker 5: Can't Take My Eyes Off You, which is the song
- 38:33Speaker 5: Heath Ledger famously did. basically perform in the movie.
- 38:38Speaker 6: So yeah, it was really great. It was emotional. Everyone
- 38:41Speaker 6: loved it. All that thing.
- 38:43Speaker 2: And, and there was also, did I get this right?
- 38:47Speaker 2: there was a big announcement about some pregnancy with a
- 38:50Speaker 2: cast member.
- 38:51Speaker 5: There was Tyler, um, who was, uh, used to be, Oh,
- 38:56Speaker 5: Oh my gosh. I didn't even realize I had the
- 38:58Speaker 5: story on this. We have so much dance star news.
- 39:01Speaker 6: I'm sorry if you hate it.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Oh no.
- 39:03Speaker 6: You have to listen.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Anyways, he's gearing up for his dad error. Um, the
- 39:07Speaker 5: 33 reality star did announce on Tuesday that his fiance
- 39:11Speaker 5: Tate Madden is pregnant with her first child.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Now, now Tyler was, uh, bachelorette winner correct really.
- 39:20Speaker 6: He was a runner-up for hannah brown.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Interesting uh-huh interesting yeah so there was of course an
- 39:28Speaker 2: emotional contemporary dance where his fiancée did come out.
- 39:31Speaker 6: That's how they announced it.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Whatever happened to Hannah Brown, do you think? We haven't
- 39:36Speaker 2: talked about her.
- 39:37Speaker 6: Usually she pops up once a year, and then you
- 39:39Speaker 6: just— Yeah.
- 39:40Speaker 5: I mean, she usually keeps herself pretty relevant, but yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 2: She's gone underground.
- 39:43Speaker 9: Talk about her.
- 39:45Speaker 6: She's gone underground. But anyways, there was confetti after their dance.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Oh, good. Oh, good.
- 39:52Speaker 6: How exciting. I know y'all are all dying to know
- 39:55Speaker 6: that information.
- 39:56Speaker 5: So there's that.
- 39:57Speaker 2: Do you realize it's been seven years since the Cameron-Hannah
- 40:06Speaker 2: Brown get-together? Wow.
- 40:09Speaker 5: You know, that Bachelor universe just hasn't been the same
- 40:12Speaker 5: since that season.
- 40:14Speaker 2: But at least he found love. That's the important thing.
- 40:18Speaker 6: And now he's going to be a dad. How exciting.
- 40:23Speaker 6: How exciting. Get ready for those sleepless nights.
- 40:26Speaker 2: I got to start watching this Dancing with the Stars.
- 40:29Speaker 6: You really are missing out.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Well, apparently I am. Glenn Close wants to be in
- 40:36Speaker 2: prime condition to promote her wealth of projects in the
- 40:40Speaker 2: weeks ahead. Glenn is 79.
- 40:44Speaker 8: Wow.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Offered a explanation for why she's been spotted walking with
- 40:49Speaker 2: a cane recently. She posted on Instagram yesterday, like you do.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I wanted to just hop on and thank you for
- 40:58Speaker 2: all your love. Explain why I have a cane. I
- 41:01Speaker 2: have a cane because I had a complete hip replacement.
- 41:06Speaker 2: I found out my left hip was in really bad shape.
- 41:09Speaker 2: My whole thing right now is to keep myself in
- 41:11Speaker 2: running order so I can really leap into whatever challenges
- 41:15Speaker 2: come my way. On deck, a role in the blockbuster sequel,
- 41:21Speaker 2: The Hunger Games.
- 41:23Speaker 13: Wow.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Season two of All's Fair, the Ryan Murphy drama. I'm
- 41:30Speaker 2: hobbling around for now, but I hope come the 26th,
- 41:34Speaker 2: I'll be on a plane for London to be there
- 41:37Speaker 2: for the opening of Hunger Games in London. Sunrise on
- 41:42Speaker 2: the reaping. Then back to New York for the opening
- 41:46Speaker 2: of All's Fair. You know, those eight-hour plane rides aren't
- 41:50Speaker 2: great for your new hip. I'm just saying. You know,
- 41:54Speaker 2: I hope she does okay. I love me some Glenn Close.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I do. You go, Glenn.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Well, that's good. You go, Glenn. Man.
- 42:05Speaker 2: All right. What else you got?
- 42:08Speaker 6: Let's talk about.
- 42:09Speaker 5: Well, apparently we're going to switch over to the Kelsey's.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 42:13Speaker 6: Because why not?
- 42:14Speaker 5: You know, all we're missing is royal news today.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Hey, did Taylor did Taylor have a new hairdo or
- 42:22Speaker 2: something that was causing all the commotion Monday night?
- 42:27Speaker 6: I don't think so. Okay.
- 42:29Speaker 2: All right. I thought I saw a headline. She was
- 42:32Speaker 2: in the news because.
- 42:33Speaker 6: There was a fan. Well, there was a fan apparently
- 42:36Speaker 6: who did go into the section below where she's at
- 42:39Speaker 6: and kept trying to take pictures of her, but she
- 42:41Speaker 6: didn't have seats.
- 42:42Speaker 5: And she told her to watch the game, but that
- 42:44Speaker 5: was the only controversy.
- 42:45Speaker 2: I heard about Monday. Okay.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 42:48Speaker 3: But apparently.
- 42:50Speaker 5: If Jason Kelsey isn't careful, he might end up on
- 42:53Speaker 5: Taylor Swift's bad books. The retired NFL star and older
- 42:57Speaker 5: brother recently woke Travis and Taylor up with an early
- 43:02Speaker 5: morning call. The brothers laughed it off as an exchange
- 43:05Speaker 5: on the podcast that was released today, the New Heights podcast.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 5: Discuss Jason participating in a challenge called squat Tober. Uh,
- 43:15Speaker 5: I knew Jason was doing squat Tober. He actually asked
- 43:18Speaker 5: me how much I weigh. Um, I have, I have,
- 43:22Speaker 5: or how much weight I have in my basement.
- 43:24Speaker 6: I didn't even add it up.
- 43:25Speaker 5: I just told him how many weights I had.
- 43:27Speaker 6: He was like, okay, cool. I'll bring some.
- 43:30Speaker 5: So he flew to Kansas city with what was like
- 43:33Speaker 5: 50 pounds. Jason confirmed that he flew to Kansas city, uh, Um,
- 43:38Speaker 5: with two 25 pound weights with the squat game, a
- 43:42Speaker 5: couple extra plates to throw on the old squat bar.
- 43:46Speaker 6: Absolutely. Harriet hilarious.
- 43:47Speaker 5: The most meathead thing I've ever seen Jason do, but
- 43:50Speaker 5: squat Tober also led to an early morning call that
- 43:53Speaker 5: caught Travis and his pop star wife off guard.
- 43:56Speaker 6: I got to call it seven 30 in the morning. Okay.
- 43:57Speaker 6: That's not even that bad. I'm sorry. Seven 30.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Well, if you're, if you're their age and you're going
- 44:03Speaker 2: out to one or two seven thirties early for us,
- 44:06Speaker 2: it's normal.
- 44:07Speaker 6: Well, and in my mind, I'm thinking worst case scenario,
- 44:11Speaker 6: he said. I'm like, oh, bleep. Is everything okay? Maybe
- 44:14Speaker 6: after the run, Jason's.
- 44:15Speaker 5: In the hospital.
- 44:16Speaker 6: He blew his knee out or something. I don't know.
- 44:19Speaker 5: I was like, worst case scenario. My brain has just
- 44:22Speaker 5: been waking up and I was like, oh, are you okay?
- 44:25Speaker 5: Not only was Jason fine, he was calling with a
- 44:27Speaker 5: workout related request. Jason's like, can.
- 44:30Speaker 6: You come spot me? And I was just like, no way.
- 44:34Speaker 6: I got my ankle wrapped and he was like, nah, nah,
- 44:37Speaker 6: it's bench. It's bench. It's not squat. And I'm like, okay, cool.
- 44:41Speaker 6: Cause I wouldn't be able to save you if it
- 44:43Speaker 6: was bleeping, bleeping black squat. And I'm like, this is
- 44:47Speaker 6: the most like bro conversation, the most bro news I've
- 44:50Speaker 6: ever had to explain on this show.
- 44:53Speaker 5: Basically everyone's fine, but Jason Kelsey is waking up the.
- 44:59Speaker 6: Princess Taylor Swift. And that is a no go. Right.
- 45:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:03Speaker 6: So you're welcome for.
- 45:04Speaker 2: That bit of information.
- 45:05Speaker 6: Now you can go about your work week.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Don't call Tay-Tay before 7.35 in the morning. Never call
- 45:13Speaker 2: her at 7.30.
- 45:14Speaker 3: I thought it was that bad.
- 45:16Speaker 5: Like if someone called me at 7.30 in the morning,
- 45:18Speaker 5: I wouldn't be like, oh.
- 45:19Speaker 2: My God, someone's in the hospital. I don't generally call
- 45:24Speaker 2: people that early.
- 45:26Speaker 6: Well, to be fair, I don't want to talk to
- 45:27Speaker 6: people that early.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Well, okay. Hey, that's more than fair. Okay, let's go
- 45:33Speaker 2: to our love bugs, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach. Remember
- 45:38Speaker 2: that cute couple that ran off with each other on
- 45:42Speaker 2: Good Morning America and left their respective spouses hanging?
- 45:46Speaker 6: And then they got, yeah, resigned.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Then they got engaged. Then they got married. But guess what?
- 45:53Speaker 6: They cheated.
- 45:54Speaker 2: No, the ex, well, that's coming. The exes.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Both announced their engagement in an interview with People today.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Andrew Shue, 59, said, we're very grateful and hopeful. I
- 46:09Speaker 2: don't know how it happened, but there's a happy ending.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Of course, Holmes and Roback were fired. The couple maintained
- 46:21Speaker 2: their marriages were nearly, nearly over. So, yeah, they put
- 46:25Speaker 2: them over the edge.
- 46:26Speaker 6: Sure.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Shue and Feinberg's engagement announcement comes one month after Holmes
- 46:31Speaker 2: and Robach tied the knot. They were married from 2010
- 46:36Speaker 2: to 2023. The Melrose Place alum has three sons from
- 46:41Speaker 2: his first marriage. So this will be his third marriage.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Robach has two daughters from a previous relationship. So it's
- 46:52Speaker 2: her third marriage.
- 46:54Speaker 6: Third time's a charm.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Feiberg, an Atlanta-based attorney, married Holmes in 2010. The pair
- 47:00Speaker 2: share a child. So, oh, good grief. I can't keep up.
- 47:05Speaker 5: I just don't understand why people get married so many times. Like,
- 47:10Speaker 5: if it doesn't work out the first or second, maybe
- 47:12Speaker 5: just don't do it again.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 47:16Speaker 6: Unless you're loaded and can afford it, then I guess
- 47:20Speaker 6: go for it. But it just seems kind of like
- 47:21Speaker 6: a waste of time.
- 47:22Speaker 2: I guess.
- 47:24Speaker 5: I digress, though.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Okay. Moving on. Moving on.
- 47:29Speaker 3: Moving on.
- 47:30Speaker 5: Glee's coming back.
- 47:32Speaker 2: No way. Get out. Get out of here. No, I
- 47:35Speaker 2: never watched it. I know it's popular.
- 47:38Speaker 5: Well, it's funny, too, because I forgot that the beloved
- 47:41Speaker 5: Ryan Murphy series, which makes me laugh. Wow.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I didn't know he did that. That is so totally
- 47:46Speaker 2: different from everything he does.
- 47:50Speaker 6: I think he did Glee first, and then maybe he's like, no,
- 47:53Speaker 6: I need something darker.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yeah, much darker.
- 47:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:58Speaker 5: Anyways, the beloved Brian Murphy series was revived Wednesday at
- 48:02Speaker 5: a new network home.
- 48:04Speaker 6: So 11 years, 11 years after the musical comedy TV
- 48:07Speaker 6: series last aired.
- 48:09Speaker 5: By the way, there was a lot of darkness that
- 48:11Speaker 5: came along with Glee, like a bunch of the.
- 48:14Speaker 6: Actors had died or.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Something traumatic about them.
- 48:19Speaker 6: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 48:20Speaker 5: Kind of like the Poltergeist, whenever that.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Movie was filmed.
- 48:23Speaker 6: Was it the 60s or 70s? I don't remember.
- 48:26Speaker 5: It doesn't matter.
- 48:27Speaker 2: So Glee is coming back.
- 48:30Speaker 6: It's coming back.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Do we know who's starring in it?
- 48:34Speaker 6: Harry Shum Jr.
- 48:36Speaker 2: We just talked about him right now.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:38Speaker 5: He, he, uh, continued success as a competitor, as we know,
- 48:41Speaker 5: as Nancy with the stars, apparently he might be back. Um,
- 48:44Speaker 5: so Disney plus and Hulu will carry the new episodes
- 48:47Speaker 5: of the show when it returns. So the exact premiere
- 48:49Speaker 5: date has yet to be announced. Uh, but apparently they,
- 48:54Speaker 5: I mean, they are, the announcement also didn't indicate whether
- 48:58Speaker 5: any of the original cast members would return for the rival.
- 49:00Speaker 6: So I don't know about Harry yet. Sorry, but he
- 49:02Speaker 6: was on the cast, the original cast.
- 49:04Speaker 3: All right.
- 49:06Speaker 6: So, yeah, it debuted in 2009. Wow.
- 49:08Speaker 5: Crazy.
- 49:08Speaker 2: That is crazy. Let's do some birthdays, can we?
- 49:13Speaker 6: We can sure try.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Manfred Mann, do wah diddy, is 86. Wow. Judge Judy.
- 49:24Speaker 2: I love her. 84 today. Elvin Bishop, 84 today.
- 49:35Speaker 6: Oh, my gosh. Guess whose birthday it is.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Whose birthday is it?
- 49:41Speaker 6: Kim Kardashian.
- 49:42Speaker 2: No way.
- 49:45Speaker 6: How old do you think she is?
- 49:47Speaker 2: I don't know, 70?
- 49:48Speaker 8: 40.
- 49:48Speaker 2: No, God.
- 49:50Speaker 5: That would be some pretty amazing work.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Oh, she's had work. She's 46. Almost no parts of
- 50:01Speaker 2: Kim Kardashian are 46 today. Very few parts of Kim Kardashian.
- 50:05Speaker 6: Her mean character.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Are 46 today. Very few parts of Kim Kardashian are
- 50:19Speaker 2: 46 today. Let's make that clear.
- 50:21Speaker 6: But hey, guess who else? Who else? Guess who else's
- 50:24Speaker 6: birthday it is. Glenn Powell.
- 50:25Speaker 2: No way. Austin, Texas.
- 50:27Speaker 1: How old?
- 50:28Speaker 6: He's 38.
- 50:28Speaker 7: 38.
- 50:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:31Speaker 6: And Kane Brown is 33.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Wow.
- 50:33Speaker 6: Okay.
- 50:33Speaker 2: So we've got some birthdays today. Since we're not here tomorrow,
- 50:36Speaker 2: I'll throw a few out. Christopher Lloyd, Back to the Future,
- 50:40Speaker 2: 88 tomorrow. Catherine Deneuve. Oh, she could act in her time.
- 50:46Speaker 2: She was actually a model. 83 tomorrow. Jeff Goldblum, 74 tomorrow.
- 50:56Speaker 2: He's a strange cat even for an actor.
- 51:00Speaker 6: Yeah, you're not wrong.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Oh, I like this guy. Bob Odenkirk. Saul. Let's call
- 51:04Speaker 2: Saul 40. No, he's 64 tomorrow. Let's see. Shelby Lynn
- 51:13Speaker 2: is 58 tomorrow. Jesse Tyler Ferguson from Modern Family is
- 51:22Speaker 2: 51 tomorrow.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Okay.
- 51:23Speaker 6: Okay.
- 51:30Speaker 2: I don't think that there's anything else we need. That's
- 51:34Speaker 2: probably enough, don't you think? Hey, we did it.
- 51:37Speaker 6: I think so.
- 51:38Speaker 2: We said we were going to bring the hit.
- 51:39Speaker 7: We did it.
- 51:40Speaker 2: By gosh, we did it.
- 51:43Speaker 6: You're welcome.
- 51:44Speaker 2: That's all we can do. Mallory, hopefully, will be back
- 51:49Speaker 2: with me next week, brought to you by Southwest Card World.

- 52:25Speaker 15: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 52:27Speaker 15: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around, and then
- 52:29Speaker 15: I found Schulte Roofing, and boy, I'm glad I did.
- 52:32Speaker 15: The folks at Schulte guided me every step of the way.
- 52:35Speaker 15: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 52:37Speaker 15: out-of-pocket cost would be after insurance. They took the complication
- 52:41Speaker 15: out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They took off
- 52:44Speaker 15: the damaged roof, put on the new roof, did all
- 52:46Speaker 15: the cleanup, and I had my new roof in one day.
- 52:49Speaker 1: Schulte!
- 52:51Speaker 16: Cowboys finally seem to have some defensive fight this last
- 52:59Speaker 16: week versus the Packers, getting three sacks in their first
- 53:02Speaker 16: interception of the season.
- 53:04Speaker 8: But it was the offense that truly struggled, especially against
- 53:06Speaker 8: the Blitz. Mickey Spagnuolo was on with the KNC masterpiece
- 53:09Speaker 8: of 105.3 The Fan to talk about.
- 53:11Speaker 2: The struggles versus the blitz.
- 53:13Speaker 14: Whatever they got to fix, they got to start figuring
- 53:17Speaker 14: out what's going on with the blitz pickups. Are the
- 53:22Speaker 14: offensive linemen not doing what they're supposed to do? Is
- 53:26Speaker 14: Dak not seeing it and calling it out at the
- 53:29Speaker 14: line of scrimmage? Or are the wide receivers not recognizing
- 53:33Speaker 14: what's getting ready to happen and cut off their routes
- 53:36Speaker 14: to get themselves open more quickly? I think it's a
- 53:40Speaker 14: combination of stuff, and guess what? The Eagles are going
- 53:43Speaker 14: to do.
- 53:44Speaker 6: They're going to blitz.
- 53:44Speaker 2: They're coming after.
- 53:45Speaker 14: Jack on Monday night. No questions asked.
