Major Upgrade for I-19 Interchange | Tucson News
They’re finally tackling the long-awaited $53 million upgrade to the I-19 and Irvington Road interchange — a critical safety fix after 53 crashes since 2020, including 8 serious injuries. The project includes widening Irvington to three lanes, expanding ramps, and building a new multi-use bridge. Work begins July 16, with overnight lane closures (9 PM to 5 AM), but two lanes will stay open during peak hours and businesses won’t be cut off. Completion target: spring 2028.
