Astrology starts with looking down at symbols in a circle, but the whole system began with people looking up. Observers noticed five stars moving through the sky while everything else stayed fixed — these five, plus the Sun and Moon, became the seven wanderers, tracked as far back as 2100 BCE in Mesopotamia.
