- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome back to the Beyond Limits podcast.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: Another deep episode for you.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: We are going very quantum in this episode.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: And we're going to be talking about something that might feel a bit confronting at first, as you can see by the title, but relieving once it lands and once we fully get into it.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: And that is, as you can see by the title, time doesn't exist.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: At least not in the way that you have been taught to experience it.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: And most of what people call, you know, being stuck or behind or off track is actually the nervous system referencing a timeline that isn't real.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Past, future, deadlines, ages, milestones, none of these are truth, right?
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: They are coordinates, right?
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Coordinates in the mind or coordinates even within society that people use to orient themselves.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: But it's not actually where the power lives.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: The power lives in the now.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And when you leave the now, you lose momentum.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: So that is what we are diving into today.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: So time is a mental construct, right?
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Time is a tool the brain uses to sequence experience.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: It helps you plan, right?
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: It helps you remember, it helps you coordinate.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: You know, we're meeting at 6 p.m.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: for dinner, our flight's at, you know, 11:45.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: But the moment you confuse the tool for reality, you start living outside yourself.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: You start measuring who you are against who you were in the past or who you think you should be by now.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: And the body doesn't evolve from measurement.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: It doesn't evolve from a scoreboard, it evolves from presence.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: So every time you reference the past, your nervous system does something very specific, right?
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: It scans for mistakes, for missed chances, for what happened last time.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: You know, I should have done better.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I should have, you know, I shouldn't still be here.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I should be here by now.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: And what emotional tone comes with that?
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Shame, embarrassment, contraction.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And that shows you right where your ego is trying to distract you.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: You get into a freeze response because if you are distracted by the shame and the embarrassment and the contraction, well, then you don't actually get to evolve forward, right?
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: You cannot evolve from a state of self-judgment.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: You can only repeat or stall there.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: As I'm like doing this episode, I'm getting major deja vu.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: So it's really funny.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I'm getting deja vu of a timeline loop as we're talking about time doesn't exist.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: So when you get distracted, right, in referencing right in the past, and you get distracted by the shame or embarrassment, that is going to keep you where you are.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: It's going to keep you on a linear path.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: But if you are, you know, either listening or watching this or you're in my world, you're not here for linear growth.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: We don't want linear.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Linear is boring.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Linear is bland.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: We want exponential.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: We want infinite.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: We want luminous.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: We want out of this world.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: So you want to be referencing the past, but you also don't want to be in the future.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: When you live in future referencing, your nervous system is always bracing.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: And this is interesting because so many people, even if they're they're trying to not live in the past, they will bypass not living in the past by trying to live in the future.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: It's like the mistak the past was painful in some kind of way, or this didn't happen.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So if I live in the future, right, if I can be focused on that, then I don't have to think about the past and I don't have to think about the now.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: But the thing is, is that when you are living in the future, you are constantly thinking, how long will this take?
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: When will this happen?
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: And what if I'm running out of time?
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: So that creates urgency, right?
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Without clarity.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: And that pressure does not accelerate evolution.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: It destabilizes it.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Your nervous system does not move faster when it's rushed, it moves cleaner when it is present.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: So I want you to get very clear, right, where you are living in the past or even where you're living in the future, even if the future is like fantasizing.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh, in the future, this is the home I would have, or the money I would have, or the relationship, or the lifestyle, or whatever it is.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: So let's really lock this in, right?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Because one of the most damaging beliefs I see is I'm behind.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: And I was speaking about this actually with a private client recently.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Behind what?
- 5:19unknown: Right?
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: A made-up timeline, someone else's, you know, expectations, a societal or cultural expectation.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: There is no universal clock for becoming because evolution isn't linear, it's punctuated.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: And you're really not becoming, you're really just remembering, which is a whole separate conversation.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: But this is important because time, like I said, isn't punctuated.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: It's not linear unless you subscribe to it.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: It moves and jumps in leaps in moments of collapse and reorganization.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: So from a nervous system standpoint, right, referencing either the past or the future pulls you out of safety, right?
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Past referencing activates that regret, that self-judgment, or attacking yourself.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: And future referencing activates that vigilance, that bracing, that anxiety, because you're constantly measuring against it.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Neither state is conductive to creation.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Presence, on the other hand, right?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Being in the now signals I am here.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: I have choice.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: I'm resourced.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: And that is where identity shifts happen, and that is where reality organizes.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: So let's run through an example, right?
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Because time referencing doesn't just create emotional kind of discomfort or, you know, instability in the body.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: It directly interferes with money, with identity, with leadership.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: When you reference time around money, it sounds like, you know, I should be making more by now.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: It's taking too long.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Uh money used to flow like this, and now it's flowing like this.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: That creates pressure money.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: And pressure money is inconsistent money.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: We don't want inconsistent money.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: And your nervous system, right, starts trying to force outcomes instead of allowing circulation, right?
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: You chase, overcorrect, you second guess.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: But money doesn't respond to panic.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Money responds to regulation and certainty, not timelines.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: So the moment you stop asking when money starts responding to who you are being now, not from who you are referencing the past and not who you are referencing the future.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: If we run through the example of identity, right?
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Identity collapses when it's when it's not measured against time, right?
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: I should be past this.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: I shouldn't still be working through this.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I thought I'd be over this by now.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: That internal dialogue, right, fractures self-trust.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: So instead of integrating who you are now, you keep like disowning yourself, judging yourself in favor of this fantasized future.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: But identity doesn't evolve through rejection, it evolves through recognition.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: And so that version of you that creates next only stabilizes when you stop shaming the current one.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: And that is why when you're shaming the current one and you're taking action or you're doing things from a place of the now sucks, and I want to get out of it as soon as possible, you don't end up actually creating what you desire.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: You just end up creating more of what you are already experiencing.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: And this is where people are like, well, it's getting worse and live, it's not shifting and not getting out of it.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: It's because of the shame you have for the current moment.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: You actually have to welcome everything now with a welcome heart.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: And once you do that, then things will start to reorganize.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: And even from like a leadership perspective, right?
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: When you are still referencing time from leadership, you delay decisions, right?
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Because you're delaying based on time.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: You're waiting for proof, right?
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Again, you cannot lead because you're referencing time, you're referencing the time that it needs for the proof.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: You're holding back clarity because you're measuring yourself against this imaginary schedule, right?
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: But leadership doesn't move on timelines.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Same with identity, same with money.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: It moves on truth.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Money doesn't respond to timelines, identity doesn't respond to timelines, leadership doesn't respond to timelines, it responds to regulation.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: And so this is what happens when you stop referencing time, right?
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: When you stop asking how long, why not yet?
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Or what did I miss?
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: That's another big one.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: When you do this, something incredible happens.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Your system settles, your attention gets sharper, your decisions get cleaner, you stop dragging all of these old identities forward.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: And you also stop borrowing anxiety from some sort of imagined future.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: And you only become available for the moment that actually exists.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: This one.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: So if you've been feeling behind or late or off schedule or embarrassed about where you are, I want you to hear this very clearly.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: There is nothing wrong.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: You are not late.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: You are not behind.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: You're just referencing something that isn't real.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: Like I said in the beginning, you're using time as a reality, not time as a tool.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: Time is just a coordination.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh, we're meeting for coffee at 4 45.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Start using time as a tool, as like a way to coordinate, not as a reality, right?
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Not as a barometer.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And the moment you come back into the now, everything is going to start to shift.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: And that's where everything you've been waiting for will finally meet you.
