- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites presented by Draft Kings. The crown
- 0:13Speaker 1: is yours. We are an Action Network podcast. I'm Brandon Kravitz,
- 0:16Speaker 1: your host. Back at it with the first lady of
- 0:18Speaker 1: the pod, Miss Kendra Middleton. As we inch ever closer
- 0:22Speaker 1: to the NFL Draft, the Prime Minister of DGEN Nation, Stucky,
- 0:25Speaker 1: will be back to wrap up the week. Well. We
- 0:28Speaker 1: will get to our third member in a couple of days.
- 0:32Speaker 1: We have content to get to today. NFL Draft preview
- 0:37Speaker 1: with Zach Walchuck from one O, five to three to
- 0:39Speaker 1: the fan in Dallas. NBA Playoffs off and running. Go
- 0:43Speaker 1: check out my compadres on Buckets for daily best bets.
- 0:47Speaker 1: These guys are killing it. My Magic are killing it.
- 0:51Speaker 1: A one to oher start in the playoffs. Kendra, I
- 0:54Speaker 1: am in a phenomenal mood today. My betting action has
- 0:59Speaker 1: been turned around in a very positive way as we
- 1:02Speaker 1: discussed last week. But I love the NBA playoffs. It
- 1:05Speaker 1: is in my mount rushmore of times in the year
- 1:08Speaker 1: where I just get giddy about sports, and we have
- 1:11Speaker 1: the NFL Draft right around the corner as well.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Where does this land for you.
- 1:16Speaker 3: On the sports calendar or if you were.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Going like Mount Rushmore of the sports calendar. Like for me,
- 1:21Speaker 1: at the start of the NFL season, just hits different
- 1:24Speaker 1: NBA playoffs, opening round of the NCAA Tournament. I would say,
- 1:30Speaker 1: like a big Saturday in college football, not any particular
- 1:34Speaker 1: moment in the season, but when you get that game
- 1:36Speaker 1: that's on at night and it's like one versus three
- 1:39Speaker 1: game days there like that to me, that's the four.
- 1:43Speaker 3: I'm a November Gurley.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I love the MLB postseason, NHL, MLB and NFL. Like,
- 1:50Speaker 4: what do they call it? Not the Super Collier? What
- 1:52Speaker 4: are the Sports Equinox? I love the Sports Equinox, but
- 1:55Speaker 4: you also get to mixed college football into that. So
- 1:58Speaker 4: I'm a November Gurley through and through.
- 2:00Speaker 1: The problem with the equinox. I mean, we all love
- 2:02Speaker 1: the equinox. There's almost too much going on. It's one
- 2:05Speaker 1: of the reasons why.
- 2:06Speaker 4: The world see now there's golf and everything going on
- 2:08Speaker 4: right now, and it's like the end of the NBA
- 2:10Speaker 4: NHL season. Nobody gives a shit. Everybody's just fighting for
- 2:13Speaker 4: their life. Like the Celtics are playing like the depths
- 2:17Speaker 4: of their bench, Like who cares?
- 2:20Speaker 1: The Celtics look like the real deal holy Field. All right, Kendro,
- 2:25Speaker 1: we have a great guest to get to today. We
- 2:28Speaker 1: have got round one bets that are piling up in
- 2:31Speaker 1: the app. By the way, I just added Caleb Downs
- 2:34Speaker 1: going eighth to the Saints at twelve to one.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I saw you go wild on the app.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You want to give a couple of those before we
- 2:40Speaker 1: get into the nitty gritty today.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Sure.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Let me pull open my action app so I can
- 2:46Speaker 4: tell you guys everything that I logged in.
- 2:48Speaker 1: I saw a little ty Simpson action Kenyon seek you've
- 2:52Speaker 1: been all over? Yeah, So is this like a new
- 2:55Speaker 1: venture for you? Do you typically like betting on the
- 2:58Speaker 1: NFL Draft? I I go very light with the draft.
- 3:02Speaker 1: It is such an information game. Yeah, this isn't like
- 3:05Speaker 1: it is so different than what we typically bet on,
- 3:08Speaker 1: where you're talking about previous results and historical trends and
- 3:15Speaker 1: power ratings and injuries and this is very much insider trading.
- 3:19Speaker 1: So I try not to get too involved with it,
- 3:21Speaker 1: but I feel like there are spots of profitability and
- 3:25Speaker 1: any kind of bank on the chaos.
- 3:27Speaker 4: But yeah, I play it so so so safe. As
- 3:31Speaker 4: you're about to see what the numbers I'm gonna give you,
- 3:32Speaker 4: But then I had one kind.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Of f fit. I'm gonna throw something at the wall
- 3:36Speaker 3: and see if it sticks.
- 3:37Speaker 4: So I have Ty Simpson to go in the top
- 3:40Speaker 4: thirty two just because I couldn't log the over of
- 3:43Speaker 4: a quarterback and a half in the action and app
- 3:46Speaker 4: So that's the angle that I went for people to
- 3:48Speaker 4: be able to follow me on that. I have Kenyan
- 3:50Speaker 4: Sadik going before fifteen and a half just because I
- 3:52Speaker 4: think that there's a lot of options, but I only
- 3:54Speaker 4: have a quarter unit.
- 3:55Speaker 3: On that, I have Francis mc is it Magolla? How
- 3:58Speaker 3: do you say his last name?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Maui goa?
- 4:00Speaker 3: I believe mawiga? Is that how it is?
- 4:02Speaker 4: I have him to be the first offensive lineman drafted
- 4:05Speaker 4: minus two thirty four, which obviously not great value, but
- 4:08Speaker 4: it feels like a lock, so it feels like a
- 4:09Speaker 4: good one to me. Same with Carnel Tait, first wide
- 4:12Speaker 4: receiver drafted minus two seventy one, once again not insane value,
- 4:15Speaker 4: but also felt like good enough value as a lock there.
- 4:18Speaker 4: And then I have Garrettnsmeyer to be a top thirty
- 4:20Speaker 4: two NFL draft pick plus five thousand, six hundred and
- 4:24Speaker 4: ninety two, and I have a tenth of a unit
- 4:27Speaker 4: on it, just in case.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I'm getting a Maui Noah in the chat.
- 4:31Speaker 4: So I've heard it thirty seven thousand different ways, and
- 4:34Speaker 4: I hate pronouncing people's names wrong. It's actually one of
- 4:37Speaker 4: the things that grinds my gears. But I just it's
- 4:41Speaker 4: it's one of those names that it's going to be
- 4:42Speaker 4: like the ETNA chain whatever.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever, you know what.
- 4:47Speaker 1: He's going to change it in three years anyways, So
- 4:49Speaker 1: don't marry yourself to it.
- 4:50Speaker 2: That's exactly I'm with you, though.
- 4:52Speaker 1: You know you try, you try and be a buttoned
- 4:54Speaker 1: up professional, but sometimes we all swing and miss. Even
- 4:57Speaker 1: Babe Ruth struck out Kendroll. It's in your mind what sell?
- 5:11Speaker 4: Okay, So it is official, there was a hard launch.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian are dating, which brings me
- 5:20Speaker 4: to the question, who are your favorite and least favorite
- 5:24Speaker 4: celebrity and athlete pairings of all time?
- 5:27Speaker 3: I'll give you my examples.
- 5:28Speaker 4: First, my least favorite obviously gonna be Lewis and Kim.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Get off of my man, that's sir, Lewis Hamilton to you, Kimberly.
- 5:35Speaker 4: And then my favorites are going to be Megan Granpino
- 5:38Speaker 4: and Sue Bird Rap. Maybe recency bias, but I don't
- 5:40Speaker 4: think so.
- 5:41Speaker 3: And if it is.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Recency bias, I'm gonna go Jessica Simpson and Tony.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Romo because that was kind of tea. They were iconic.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Would that was a favorite for you?
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah, just like, how do you like pop?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Jessica Simpson was so annoying though.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but she was like the it girl when they
- 5:59Speaker 3: were dating.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Her and Ashley Simpson had just like released their song
- 6:02Speaker 4: together and Tony, Oh god, her.
- 6:04Speaker 3: In the box the videos, Oh you guys, it was iconic.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Did you just say the box?
- 6:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Did I just hear that? Oh my god, I missed that.
- 6:12Speaker 1: That channel was great. I listened to.
- 6:17Speaker 2: One of my.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Guilty pleasures is nineties pop music. So I'll throw on
- 6:23Speaker 1: a nineties pop playlist in the car. Sometimes you never
- 6:27Speaker 1: hear Jessica Simpson. That is just not It's like she
- 6:32Speaker 1: has been deleted from pop music history.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It's because her songs aren't.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Good, by the way, I don't I okay, I was
- 6:40Speaker 4: more of an Ashley Simpson girl. I gotta be honest,
- 6:44Speaker 4: but yeah, her songs were kind of trash.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah, mostly trash and then she had the whole tune
- 6:48Speaker 1: of fish thing Chicken out to see You remember the
- 6:51Speaker 1: in the reality show Jessica Simpson said, I didn't know
- 6:54Speaker 1: they were chicken in the ocean because they're the chicken of.
- 6:56Speaker 2: The sea cans.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I didn't know this.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I look up and we're done.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Justin Verlander and Kate Upton I always thought was super fun, So.
- 7:05Speaker 3: That would definitely right because of her booths.
- 7:08Speaker 2: You know, we all have our reasons.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And then Devin Booker and Nod Kendall, Ole Jenner, she's
- 7:16Speaker 1: still going by Jenner. Is that Kardashian, She's still a Jenner.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I think that they would make beautiful babies, Angel Reese
- 7:23Speaker 1: and Wendell Carter Junior for the Hometown feel. If I
- 7:27Speaker 1: had to go least favorite, Aaron Rodgers marriage with Reality
- 7:32Speaker 1: perhaps could be one of them. Kyrie Irving's marriage with
- 7:36Speaker 1: the Flat Earth.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Kyrie called into our radio station one time when they
- 7:43Speaker 4: were like talking crap about him to try and defend himself,
- 7:46Speaker 4: and everyone on the air realized that it was Kyrie
- 7:49Speaker 4: very quickly and he hung up. And it is on
- 7:51Speaker 4: YouTube before you're listening, if you would like to look it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: At that's amazing. That is great.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I don't have a lot of
- 7:59Speaker 1: least I'm trying to think of least favorites. I'm just
- 8:03Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm all that bothered by celebrity couples.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'm sure that they're out there somewhere, somewhere in the chat.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I can already see it. Travis Kelcey and Taylor's Travis Kelsey.
- 8:13Speaker 3: That's exactly what I got.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I can understand where people would be annoyed with that
- 8:17Speaker 1: because it became such a pop culture phenomenon.
- 8:20Speaker 3: But I tend to it's a better answer.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Supervisor Jutah Leerdam and Jake.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Paul Oh I had anything involving the polls, You're not
- 8:27Speaker 1: gonna get any argument from me. They are over exposed
- 8:31Speaker 1: and obnoxious whatsoever. That was good stuff. Let's get to
- 8:36Speaker 1: our NFL Draft preview. The draft fast approaching. We've got

- 9:29Speaker 1: Zach Walchuck can be found at one oh five to
- 9:32Speaker 1: three the Fan throughout the week, as well as the
- 9:35Speaker 1: Cowboys Radio Network. Here to chat all things NFL Draft, Zach,
- 9:40Speaker 1: pleasure to have you on. Let's start at the top.
- 9:43Speaker 1: What got you into the draft? When did you get
- 9:45Speaker 1: hit with the bug? We all have some memory of
- 9:48Speaker 1: the past of when we just became emotionally obsessed with
- 9:53Speaker 1: this event.
- 9:54Speaker 5: It was probably middle school when I was like scouring
- 9:57Speaker 5: the internet during class when you shouldn't be, and I'm
- 10:00Speaker 5: just going through all the mock drafts, and it was
- 10:02Speaker 5: like the Cowboys Bobby Carpenter draft where they ended up
- 10:05Speaker 5: taking him eighteenth overall and that didn't end up working
- 10:09Speaker 5: out for the Cowboys. But ever since then, I've been
- 10:11Speaker 5: pretty draft obsessed. It would be I'm not going to
- 10:14Speaker 5: school day one of the draft when they moved it
- 10:16Speaker 5: to the Thursday Friday schedule. So ever since then, I've
- 10:20Speaker 5: been a draft nerd. I've been loving it and now
- 10:23Speaker 5: getting to work with one of my co hosts one
- 10:25Speaker 5: O five through the fan, Brian Brodis, who was a
- 10:27Speaker 5: scout won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers,
- 10:29Speaker 5: then worked with the Dallas Cowboys. He's been able to
- 10:32Speaker 5: really it kind of gives you credibility, Like when you
- 10:34Speaker 5: have somebody else that's been in the league, it's like, oh,
- 10:36Speaker 5: I value with this guy has to say. So that's
- 10:39Speaker 5: helped a lot in terms of growing the entire draft
- 10:43Speaker 5: network that I'm working with here.
- 10:45Speaker 6: But I mean, who don't love the NFL draft.
- 10:47Speaker 5: It's amazing in the debates that you can get into
- 10:49Speaker 5: how people view and see these players.
- 10:52Speaker 6: It's so different.
- 10:53Speaker 5: It's like ice cream flavors, right, There's something for everybody
- 10:55Speaker 5: out there, but there's never really a consensus. And I
- 10:58Speaker 5: think that that's beautiful.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And I'm glad that you mentioned the change in the
- 11:01Speaker 1: schedule because that's what I go back to when I
- 11:03Speaker 1: fell in love with the Draft. I was a kid
- 11:05Speaker 1: sitting there on Saturday morning, and I would just I
- 11:09Speaker 1: wouldn't change my clothes for two days. I would just
- 11:11Speaker 1: watch the NFL Draft Saturday through Sunday. Kendrick, you're probably
- 11:15Speaker 1: too young to remember that. That's the way that this
- 11:18Speaker 1: used to work. This was a Saturday morning round one
- 11:22Speaker 1: start time. It's hard to think that that even existed
- 11:24Speaker 1: within our lifetimes.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I barely remember those days at all. I feel like
- 11:30Speaker 3: most of.
- 11:31Speaker 4: My cognizant, semi formed brain has always been in just
- 11:37Speaker 4: the three day event.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that is what we are used to. It has
- 11:42Speaker 1: become a prime time affair. Your team, Zach is always
- 11:46Speaker 1: a mystery. We never know what the Jones family is
- 11:49Speaker 1: gonna do. This year, we have two Cowboys mysteries, So
- 11:52Speaker 1: what do you expect from them? At twelve and twenty?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Do you have either of these picks pegged for where
- 11:59Speaker 1: they would look positionally or a specific player.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Well, I mean it's got to be defense, right. I
- 12:04Speaker 5: think Cowboy fans start to freak out when you start
- 12:07Speaker 5: to mention like what if they go wide receiver here?
- 12:09Speaker 5: What if Jordan Tyson from Arizona State were to fall
- 12:11Speaker 5: to twelve? Oh my gosh, are they gonna do that?
- 12:13Speaker 5: Are you gonna end up having George Pickens and Ceedee
- 12:16Speaker 5: Lamb and Jordan Tyson? What do you do and you
- 12:17Speaker 5: have the worst defense in the NFL outside of Cincinnati.
- 12:21Speaker 5: I think I felt for a while that the trade
- 12:24Speaker 5: up stuff was going to happen, you know, the whole
- 12:27Speaker 5: twelve and twenty. You move up to Cleveland at six,
- 12:30Speaker 5: maybe you get back thirty nine. That makes a lot
- 12:32Speaker 5: of sense to me, the closer we get to this
- 12:35Speaker 5: unless you get an RVL Reese the linebacker edge from
- 12:39Speaker 5: Ohio State or David Bailey the edge from Texas Tech
- 12:43Speaker 5: fall to maybe six to Cleveland, which I think is
- 12:47Speaker 5: very unlikely. I think the Cowboys are gonna stay at
- 12:49Speaker 5: twelve and pick I think the spot that they'd like
- 12:52Speaker 5: to move would be twenty, because ideally, I think they
- 12:55Speaker 5: want to be able to keep twenty. They think they
- 12:57Speaker 5: can get two starting caliber players at both of those spots.
- 13:00Speaker 5: So at twenty, could they move back. I think there's
- 13:02Speaker 5: a plethora of players that they kind of see in
- 13:06Speaker 5: the same tier. You know, whether it's Chris Johnson, the
- 13:08Speaker 5: corner from San Diego State, Colton Hood, they love, the
- 13:11Speaker 5: corner from Tennessee. You've got the edge, Malachi Lawrence from
- 13:15Speaker 5: UCF that's generating a lot of buzz right now. Linebacker
- 13:18Speaker 5: obviously is a huge weakness for them. I think Jacob
- 13:20Speaker 5: Rodriguez from Tech, there's a lot of love for them
- 13:22Speaker 5: in the building, but twenty might be a little bit
- 13:24Speaker 5: rich for me.
- 13:25Speaker 6: I love Jay Rod.
- 13:27Speaker 5: I'd take them at twenty, I'd pull that trigger. But
- 13:29Speaker 5: for the Cowboys maybe it's slide back. So at twelve,
- 13:32Speaker 5: I think they're gonna say, let's see how the board falls,
- 13:35Speaker 5: and let's hope manswort O Lane from LSU, the corner
- 13:39Speaker 5: or Caleb Downs or Sunny Styles, one of those big
- 13:42Speaker 5: fish can fall to them.
- 13:43Speaker 6: At twelve.
- 13:44Speaker 5: It's risky, but I think that's kind of where they're
- 13:46Speaker 5: staying right now. They think one of those guys can
- 13:49Speaker 5: slide and you get more offensive players wide receivers, offensive
- 13:52Speaker 5: tackles go in those top eleven picks.
- 13:55Speaker 4: So mel kiper notoriously does not often include trades and
- 14:00Speaker 4: his mock drafts. Obviously, his final version of it came
- 14:03Speaker 4: a bit earlier than we would usually expect. He thinks
- 14:06Speaker 4: that the Cowboys are in love with Sonny Styles and
- 14:09Speaker 4: are looking to move into that.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Cleveland spot for him.
- 14:12Speaker 4: What are your thoughts on him kind of really not
- 14:14Speaker 4: being into mocking trades and really thinking that the Cowboys
- 14:19Speaker 4: are so in love with Sonny that they might try
- 14:21Speaker 4: and chase to trade with Cleveland.
- 14:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I think that the Cowboys do like
- 14:24Speaker 5: Sunny Styles. I don't know that the love is necessarily
- 14:28Speaker 5: as much as mel is saying.
- 14:31Speaker 6: There.
- 14:32Speaker 5: You know, I think that if he fell to twelve,
- 14:34Speaker 5: they'd have a party.
- 14:35Speaker 6: I don't.
- 14:36Speaker 5: It depends the Cowboys are showing. This can be a
- 14:38Speaker 5: frustrating thing for the fan base. It's got to be
- 14:42Speaker 5: on their terms, right, So if they move up to
- 14:45Speaker 5: Cleveland and Cleveland says, hey, we also want XYZ, We're
- 14:50Speaker 5: not just gonna get fleeced.
- 14:52Speaker 6: And it's a buyer's market.
- 14:53Speaker 5: We're not just going to give you the pick for
- 14:54Speaker 5: the sake of giving you the pick the Cowboys and
- 14:57Speaker 5: say that's fine, we're gonna stay at twelve. You can
- 14:59Speaker 5: keep six. Cleveland is open for business. Andrew Berry might
- 15:02Speaker 5: have tipped his hand way too early in this process,
- 15:05Speaker 5: and now he's trying to go back and say like, oh,
- 15:07Speaker 5: you know what, We're not just going to give it
- 15:08Speaker 5: the pick away. I do think the Cowboys like sunny styles,
- 15:12Speaker 5: and that fills a huge need. I mean, right now,
- 15:14Speaker 5: you're starting linebackers for Dallas or to Marvin Overshown. You've
- 15:17Speaker 5: got Shamar James as a second year player, and then
- 15:20Speaker 5: Justin barn would have to start for them, who is
- 15:22Speaker 5: an undrafted rookie free agent that's never started a game.
- 15:26Speaker 5: So it's a glaring weakness and it would fill that
- 15:28Speaker 5: fills their green dot. They've got a guy that's athletic
- 15:31Speaker 5: that I think is an ascending player for them. I
- 15:34Speaker 5: think the pause is there are some warts in Sonny's
- 15:37Speaker 5: game when it comes to being able to get off
- 15:41Speaker 5: blocks of the second level. To me, I thought it
- 15:45Speaker 5: was one of those things where he excelled throughout the year.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Week one versus Texas to the Indiana game of the
- 15:50Speaker 5: Big Ten Championship. You saw a night and day difference
- 15:53Speaker 5: in his ability to do that stuff. But I don't
- 15:55Speaker 5: know that the Cowboys would move up for Sonny Styles.
- 15:57Speaker 5: I think they'd be thrilled if he fell to them
- 15:59Speaker 5: at twelve.
- 16:00Speaker 1: One of the things I'm really struggling with, Zach are
- 16:02Speaker 1: those two Ohio State players. I love Caleb Downs, but
- 16:06Speaker 1: the more that I look at the game of Sunny Styles,
- 16:12Speaker 1: my mind kind of just sorts to meld together. These
- 16:15Speaker 1: are two guys that play a position that you typically
- 16:18Speaker 1: don't see targeted inside of the top ten traditional linebacker, safety.
- 16:23Speaker 1: You're not reaching on those positions talent for both of
- 16:27Speaker 1: them through the roof. There's a very low chance that
- 16:30Speaker 1: these guys bust. They're hard workers, competitive winners, leaders, all
- 16:35Speaker 1: of those intangible things that you love in these players.
- 16:39Speaker 1: So what's the difference between these two? They're back to
- 16:42Speaker 1: back in both rankings that you look at Sunny Styles
- 16:45Speaker 1: Caleb Downs. If you had to, if you were in
- 16:48Speaker 1: one of those war rooms and you said, okay, why
- 16:50Speaker 1: one over the other, if they're both sitting on the board,
- 16:53Speaker 1: how would you respond to that.
- 16:55Speaker 5: I don't really have a weakness in Caleb Downs game
- 16:57Speaker 5: I mean, this dude walks onto campus University of Alabama
- 17:01Speaker 5: as a true freshman wanting to play for Nick Saban
- 17:04Speaker 5: and is the alpha dog like that to me is
- 17:07Speaker 5: everything you need to know. And for those that are
- 17:09Speaker 5: worried about the coverage aspect of his game, and I
- 17:12Speaker 5: understand it. Right at Ohio State it was much more
- 17:15Speaker 5: down in the box. I'm gonna play around the line
- 17:17Speaker 5: of scrimmage. I'll play a little bit of nickel stuff.
- 17:20Speaker 5: But you see the versatility and coverage if you go
- 17:22Speaker 5: back as freshman year at Alabama, he's Manda Man versus
- 17:25Speaker 5: Brought Bowers and the Georgia Obama game, you can see
- 17:28Speaker 5: him playing single high, too high, picking off post routes,
- 17:31Speaker 5: getting interceptions, making plays on the football. I think Caleb
- 17:35Speaker 5: Downs is a jack of all trades. I think he
- 17:37Speaker 5: is one of those safeties that should be talked about
- 17:40Speaker 5: amongst the eric Berries, you know, the Earl Thomas, you
- 17:45Speaker 5: go back to Sean Taylor. Like some of these elite
- 17:48Speaker 5: safety prospects that came out in the draft. He's not
- 17:50Speaker 5: the size profile of a Derwin James or a nickim
- 17:54Speaker 5: and Worri and some of these other guys, but the
- 17:56Speaker 5: football IQ and quite frankly, they don't throw the football
- 17:59Speaker 5: great big ten and not everybody's got the quarterback to
- 18:02Speaker 5: do so he didn't get tested a ton, and I
- 18:05Speaker 5: think he kind of.
- 18:05Speaker 6: Got a little bit bored.
- 18:06Speaker 5: So the football I ques through the roof for Sonny
- 18:09Speaker 5: Styles's only played the position for two years. He's a
- 18:12Speaker 5: converted safety to linebacker, and I do think his best
- 18:16Speaker 5: football is ahead of him. But there is some of
- 18:18Speaker 5: that stuff, the natural play recognition, the feel, the instincts,
- 18:22Speaker 5: like Caleb Downs has all of that stuff, where Sonny
- 18:25Speaker 5: Styles may be all work in progress at the position
- 18:28Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 18:29Speaker 6: So I think you've got.
- 18:30Speaker 5: A guy that is a surefire all pro in Downs,
- 18:34Speaker 5: whereas there is still possibly a little projection when it
- 18:36Speaker 5: comes to Sunny Styles.
- 18:38Speaker 4: All right, I'm going to keep it in a division here.
- 18:41Speaker 4: I cover the Patriots. Obviously some not news news coming
- 18:44Speaker 4: from Adam Schefter yesterday, even though it really is kind
- 18:48Speaker 4: of from Diana Rassini weeks ago. Oh that AJ Brown
- 18:52Speaker 4: pretty much a sure deal to be a New England Patriot.
- 18:55Speaker 4: How do you think that that kind of changes the
- 18:57Speaker 4: dynamic of the old NFC East, where there was a
- 19:00Speaker 4: different divisional winner every single year as of late, it's
- 19:03Speaker 4: been the Eagles dominating.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Are you happy to see AJ Brown leave the Eagles?
- 19:06Speaker 3: Do you think that.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Having you know, picks in return or something like that
- 19:09Speaker 4: is more beneficial or do you think that there might
- 19:12Speaker 4: be teams calling to see what the Patriots are offering
- 19:15Speaker 4: and see.
- 19:15Speaker 3: If they're going to match it.
- 19:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, it does kind of feel like there's
- 19:18Speaker 5: a little bit of a handshake agreement there between New
- 19:21Speaker 5: England and Philly, and I think AJ Brown would love
- 19:24Speaker 5: to reunite with Mike Rabel, you know. I think that
- 19:26Speaker 5: that connection and Rabel being so upset when Tennessee traded
- 19:30Speaker 5: him and that was part of the downfall there, just
- 19:32Speaker 5: makes a ton of sense. And I think for Drake
- 19:34Speaker 5: May and New England, it's just a perfect fit. So
- 19:38Speaker 5: I think maybe there's a little bit of wanting to
- 19:40Speaker 5: do right by the player on Philadelphia's side, and if
- 19:42Speaker 5: that's where AJ Brown wants to go, We're okay, we're
- 19:46Speaker 5: going to move you there. I'm of course happy to
- 19:48Speaker 5: see a good player leave the division, but I also
- 19:51Speaker 5: wouldn't mind AJ Brown sticking around. And let's let that
- 19:54Speaker 5: ticking time bomb that as Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown
- 19:57Speaker 5: go ahead and implode, and then we can see just
- 19:59Speaker 5: phil they absolutely eat themselves alive.
- 20:02Speaker 6: I would love that. I would just love to see
- 20:04Speaker 6: the Eagles crumble from within.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It's just wild bias here, Zach numb well bias at all.
- 20:10Speaker 6: It's just wild. The drama.
- 20:11Speaker 5: But yet the success that they're still able to have
- 20:14Speaker 5: with all of that drama and chaos that seems to
- 20:16Speaker 5: be going on within that building.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it is incredible. A quick aside, I was thinking
- 20:20Speaker 1: about AJ Brown connecting with Drake May and how unique
- 20:24Speaker 1: this will be for him. He went from Ryan Tannehill,
- 20:29Speaker 1: the slant pass king, to Jalen Hurts, who's great at
- 20:34Speaker 1: what he does. Sure, there is a one trick pony
- 20:37Speaker 1: when it comes to throwing the ball, it's basically deep
- 20:40Speaker 1: or nothing. And then he goes to a quarterback that
- 20:45Speaker 1: I think Drake May sells a lot of refining to do.
- 20:48Speaker 1: But this is Zach. This is clearly the best quarterback
- 20:51Speaker 1: that he will have played with. If that handshake agreement
- 20:54Speaker 1: does come to fruition.
- 20:55Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I didn't even think of it that way,
- 20:56Speaker 5: but you're one hundred percent right. I mean, Drake May
- 20:59Speaker 5: to do what he did in year two, and I
- 21:01Speaker 5: understand the the postseason run and you guys can speak
- 21:04Speaker 5: to that even more so than I can. You know,
- 21:06Speaker 5: Drake did not play his best football and then you
- 21:09Speaker 5: have the injury that he was battling through as well.
- 21:11Speaker 6: But yeah, I think that that did bring Yeah, yeah.
- 21:14Speaker 5: There you go, well Campbell, So that was not great
- 21:17Speaker 5: for him, But I love that for AJ Brown, Like
- 21:21Speaker 5: a J.
- 21:21Speaker 6: Brown is a phenomenal player.
- 21:24Speaker 5: And I think that when you look at you know,
- 21:25Speaker 5: you stack your top tens in the NFL. Uh, he
- 21:28Speaker 5: probably hasn't even gotten the recognition that he deserves because
- 21:32Speaker 5: of the quarterbacks that he's been playing with, So his
- 21:34Speaker 5: numbers probably aren't even as good as they could be.
- 21:37Speaker 5: So for him, and I know he has mentioned the
- 21:39Speaker 5: cold weather cities were not where he really wanted to go,
- 21:43Speaker 5: but I think that speaks to his love for Mike Rabel,
- 21:45Speaker 5: but also the quarterback that matters, and Drake may certainly
- 21:49Speaker 5: I think you're You're absolutely right, Branton, that's the best
- 21:51Speaker 5: quarterback he's ever going to play with.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah, and Mike Rabel have been receiving a lot of
- 21:54Speaker 1: love lately, will Oh a lot of love just at
- 21:58Speaker 1: that Yeah, field, the g Men have two picks inside
- 22:03Speaker 1: of the top ten.
- 22:04Speaker 2: They could be in.
- 22:05Speaker 1: The discussion for most interesting team in the draft because
- 22:10Speaker 1: it's hard to beat two top ten picks. They traded
- 22:12Speaker 1: Dexter Lawrence. This is not a handshake agreement. This is
- 22:15Speaker 1: a full agreement. Or the Cincinnati Bengals beef up the
- 22:18Speaker 1: interior of that defensive line. They have a lot of
- 22:20Speaker 1: offseason momentum, Zach. They they've found their quarterback in Jackson Dart,
- 22:24Speaker 1: clearly a guy they can feel comfortable with at least
- 22:27Speaker 1: for the next couple of seasons if his head stays
- 22:30Speaker 1: on his neck, and they found a competent coach in
- 22:33Speaker 1: John Harball. I think all of us believe in him
- 22:35Speaker 1: quite a bit. So they feel like a team if
- 22:39Speaker 1: they were to nail this draft at five and ten
- 22:42Speaker 1: and beyond, is that a team that we really need
- 22:45Speaker 1: to start paying attention too quickly?
- 22:48Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so, especially with this division is going
- 22:54Speaker 5: through some turnover right now. Right like Jade Daniels, is
- 22:57Speaker 5: he going to be healthy at Washington? I know that
- 22:59Speaker 5: there's and PTSD with RG three and kind of how
- 23:02Speaker 5: that career went. You have an amazing rookie season, then
- 23:05Speaker 5: you deal with injuries and then that didn't end up
- 23:07Speaker 5: working out Philly, could they? This is a make or
- 23:11Speaker 5: break here for Jalen Hurts, which is weird for a
- 23:12Speaker 5: guy who's been into Super Bowls and one to one,
- 23:14Speaker 5: but all of a sudden, are they going to look
- 23:16Speaker 5: to move and transition at quarterback? And the Cowboys always,
- 23:20Speaker 5: you know, they can't get their peanut butter and jelly
- 23:21Speaker 5: at the same time.
- 23:22Speaker 6: It's like, you got your peanut butter, where's the jelly?
- 23:25Speaker 2: Right?
- 23:25Speaker 5: You've got Dak and your offense is playing great, but
- 23:27Speaker 5: your defense is poochies. So they can't ever seem to
- 23:30Speaker 5: get it together at the right time. So for the Giants, yeah,
- 23:34Speaker 5: I mean they they could hit on a rookie quarterback salary,
- 23:38Speaker 5: so you can go out and spend money in free
- 23:40Speaker 5: agency if you nail these top two picks, which I
- 23:43Speaker 5: think that they're probably going to go the Jordan Tyson
- 23:45Speaker 5: buzz I think is real. At number five, I would
- 23:48Speaker 5: take Francis malanoa the offensive tackle for Miami, play him
- 23:52Speaker 5: at right guard and then eventually down the line if
- 23:55Speaker 5: you want to kick him outside the right tackle. He's
- 23:57Speaker 5: definitely good enough to do that. But the Giants have
- 24:00Speaker 5: failed at assessing offensive linemen in the first round. So
- 24:03Speaker 5: you got a new regime. Does Horriball go back to
- 24:05Speaker 5: that well and say, you know what, I'm different here.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I can go ahead and pick a guy that I
- 24:10Speaker 5: like and that's gonna work out. But if the Giants like,
- 24:12Speaker 5: if they came away with downs and styles, cowboy fans
- 24:15Speaker 5: would lose their minds, like, those are two guys we'd
- 24:17Speaker 5: love right now. Now you've got two cornerstones on your defense,
- 24:20Speaker 5: and the Giants to me, when they've been at their best,
- 24:23Speaker 5: it's not even in my opinion, I think it's just
- 24:24Speaker 5: fact they're a defensive led team. They meet Tom Brady
- 24:27Speaker 5: in New England because of their pass rush, Right, Eli Manning, Okay, went,
- 24:31Speaker 5: you made a couple of great throws and you went
- 24:33Speaker 5: on a decent playoff run.
- 24:35Speaker 6: You're a five hundred quarterback in the regular season.
- 24:37Speaker 5: You can thank Michael Strahan and Kewan Nuka and Justin
- 24:40Speaker 5: Tuckan those guys for your Super Bowl ring man.
- 24:43Speaker 1: So you mentioned the pass rush and that might not
- 24:46Speaker 1: be in play for the Giants just depending on how
- 24:49Speaker 1: the draft falls. We're seeing that rvel Rees David Bailey
- 24:53Speaker 1: discussion at the top. If one of those guys is
- 24:56Speaker 1: going to go to the Jets, I think we have
- 24:58Speaker 1: that pretty well figured out by now. We could one
- 25:02Speaker 1: of that the other just based on the needs of
- 25:05Speaker 1: the teams that are right there right now. The odds
- 25:07Speaker 1: say the Titans are all in on Jeremiah Love. He's
- 25:10Speaker 1: minus one thirty five to get drafted to Tennessee.
- 25:13Speaker 2: The Cardinals.
- 25:15Speaker 1: It might be a little bit early for alignment, but man,
- 25:18Speaker 1: do they need help on the offensive line and they
- 25:20Speaker 1: are rebuilding from the inside out.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Sure they could definitely look to go that route.
- 25:25Speaker 1: It won't surprise me if anyone in that range takes
- 25:27Speaker 1: Caleb downs because of the talent.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Could you see.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Either Reese or Bailey falling to later in the top
- 25:36Speaker 1: ten or is that pie in the sky thinking for
- 25:39Speaker 1: those teams.
- 25:40Speaker 5: I think it's pie and this guy thinking. I will
- 25:42Speaker 5: say the David Bailey. I don't think this is anything
- 25:44Speaker 5: to scare teams off, but he had a run in.
- 25:48Speaker 5: From what I've heard, there might be some red flags
- 25:50Speaker 5: in terms of his He a little bit of a
- 25:51Speaker 5: hot head. I think he got into it at Stanford.
- 25:55Speaker 5: I was with a trainer or a coach he had
- 25:57Speaker 5: an issue there. We know that he got ejected from
- 25:59Speaker 5: a game at Stanford because he stomped on a guy,
- 26:01Speaker 5: which was not a good look. And then last year
- 26:04Speaker 5: he had the run in with the cameraman after the
- 26:05Speaker 5: years on a state game.
- 26:06Speaker 6: At Texas Tech.
- 26:07Speaker 5: So you know, I've married into a Texas Tech family.
- 26:11Speaker 5: My brother in law covers Texas Tech, so he might
- 26:14Speaker 5: be giving me this from a bias lens, but he
- 26:16Speaker 5: has nothing but high praise for David Bailey, So I
- 26:19Speaker 5: don't think that stuff should scare people off. And personally
- 26:22Speaker 5: for a defensive player, I'm okay with a guy with
- 26:24Speaker 5: a little bit of a screw loose there. So I
- 26:26Speaker 5: don't think that those two guys, to me, are kind
- 26:29Speaker 5: of the bluoch in a draft top ten that doesn't
- 26:31Speaker 5: have like your elite true blue chip talents outside of
- 26:35Speaker 5: your non positional value positions at safety and linebacker.
- 26:39Speaker 6: They shouldn't slide out of the top five. I'd be surprised.
- 26:42Speaker 5: And if they did, that's when you would get the
- 26:44Speaker 5: Cowboys working the phone to move up to six to
- 26:46Speaker 5: Cleveland to try and snag one of them.
- 26:48Speaker 3: I was originally going to follow up with the Jeremiah
- 26:50Speaker 3: Love question.
- 26:50Speaker 4: I'll get to that in a second with a new
- 26:52Speaker 4: MOB draft that just came out, But I want to
- 26:54Speaker 4: kind of piggyback off.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Of the character flaw issues ruben Bain.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Obviously there is a ton of conversations on him and
- 27:00Speaker 4: some of the off the field stuff that he's going
- 27:02Speaker 4: through right now. I don't think that the Cowboys are
- 27:05Speaker 4: an organization to shy away from something like that. If
- 27:07Speaker 4: you were a pick that was available to them at
- 27:09Speaker 4: a good slot. What do you think about maybe ruben
- 27:12Speaker 4: Bain falling to the Cowboys.
- 27:14Speaker 5: I think he could. I think he definitely could be
- 27:16Speaker 5: on the board at twelve. I think the arm length
- 27:18Speaker 5: is is real with ruben Bain. I think that's going
- 27:20Speaker 5: to scare people off now for me, I don't know
- 27:24Speaker 5: how you watch him and what he did in the
- 27:25Speaker 5: playoff and say that the arm length is going to
- 27:27Speaker 5: be a problem. But there's a reason they chart this,
- 27:30Speaker 5: and there's never been players that have the arm length
- 27:34Speaker 5: of ruben Bain and cashus Hals. You guys, I'm sure
- 27:36Speaker 5: have seen that have been drafted in the first round.
- 27:38Speaker 5: So I don't think cashs Holl's going in Round one.
- 27:40Speaker 5: From Texas City. Now, you know that could be a
- 27:42Speaker 5: bet that you want to make there like him, do
- 27:45Speaker 5: they Okay, well maybe New England snag him there, that's
- 27:48Speaker 5: that's that's some good nuggets right now.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Clearly don't have an arm length issue with Will Campbell.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Sall that they might have one.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Now they might need to reevaluate that, right, I mean,
- 27:57Speaker 5: I don't know what they're gonna do. I mean, look,
- 27:58Speaker 5: I like Will Campbell coming out, but I thought he
- 28:00Speaker 5: might be a guard instead of a tackle.
- 28:02Speaker 3: So we'll see he has a guard.
- 28:03Speaker 5: Yeah, if he stays at yeah, well what they want
- 28:05Speaker 5: to do with him. But I don't think the Cowboys
- 28:07Speaker 5: would take Baane at twelve. And I think it's because
- 28:09Speaker 5: they really they buy into that arm length. So if
- 28:11Speaker 5: I think they've changed hiring Christian Parker how they view
- 28:14Speaker 5: the corners. They used to be one of those teams
- 28:17Speaker 5: that the measurables, the kind that Dan Quinn system back
- 28:20Speaker 5: in Seattle. They want the corners that are bigger, longer
- 28:24Speaker 5: type of players. Now I think they've pivoted like a
- 28:26Speaker 5: D'Angelo Ponds who does not fit your size requirements. If
- 28:30Speaker 5: they traded back, let's say they picked up thirty nine,
- 28:33Speaker 5: he could be in the conversation for them where in
- 28:35Speaker 5: years period a year's past.
- 28:37Speaker 6: He would not be.
- 28:37Speaker 5: But bain I've kind of heard some whispers they might
- 28:41Speaker 5: be out on Reuben Bainn if he failed out at
- 28:43Speaker 5: twelve because of the arm length.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, good to know.
- 28:46Speaker 4: So I want to talk about Jeremiah Love just because
- 28:49Speaker 4: he's become one of the most talked about people in
- 28:51Speaker 4: this draft other than Fernando Mendoza. The newest ESPN mock
- 28:55Speaker 4: draft has Jeremiah Love falling to the Commanders at seven.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Is this something that you would hate covering the Cowboys
- 29:03Speaker 4: or Cowboys fans would hate or be nervous about, or
- 29:05Speaker 4: are you one of these people that buys into the
- 29:08Speaker 4: You don't draft a running back in the top ten
- 29:10Speaker 4: and if you want to be a successful team.
- 29:12Speaker 5: I'm I'm a running back truther. I got a spell
- 29:15Speaker 5: for the running backs. I mean, my favorite player ever
- 29:18Speaker 5: ex Emmitt Smith. So Jeremiah loves my number two player
- 29:22Speaker 5: on the board. He's special. So if he falls to Washington,
- 29:26Speaker 5: I think that they'd run the pick in. It'd be
- 29:27Speaker 5: a home run and that's perfect. That's going to take
- 29:30Speaker 5: a lot of pressure off of Jaden Daniels. I think
- 29:32Speaker 5: that's exactly what they need. They need to try and
- 29:34Speaker 5: add a playmaker. No matter what. I think there's a
- 29:37Speaker 5: lot of love for Carnell Tait. I don't know if
- 29:39Speaker 5: Carnel Tate's gonna make it to seven. If he did,
- 29:41Speaker 5: I think they'd take him.
- 29:42Speaker 4: If ull mock has him going six to the commanders
- 29:45Speaker 4: and that's why he falls.
- 29:47Speaker 6: Yeah, yep.
- 29:47Speaker 5: So I mean, then so love goes to the commander
- 29:51Speaker 5: law and I think that they'd love that. And I
- 29:54Speaker 5: think that'd be a hell of a pick. That absolutely
- 29:57Speaker 5: for Cowboy fans, that should make you nervous.
- 29:59Speaker 6: I mean, I like Bill Merit.
- 30:01Speaker 5: I mean Corey Krossky marrit is what I knew him
- 30:03Speaker 5: before he changed it to Bill, So no disrespect.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I think we changed it to Bill. I'm not sure
- 30:07Speaker 2: that he ticked. I think they would.
- 30:09Speaker 4: We changed the Bill call him Bill and and the
- 30:14Speaker 4: media said, you got it.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Well, have a good Bill at running back.
- 30:17Speaker 6: All right, Bill, you got this. But he does have
- 30:19Speaker 6: some fumbling issues.
- 30:20Speaker 5: Jeremiah love Is is just a home run difference making player,
- 30:24Speaker 5: and that'd be a tremendous pick for Washington.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's one that they really really have
- 30:29Speaker 1: to take seriously. I'm with you, by the way, running
- 30:31Speaker 1: back truther first and foremost. If he can change your offense,
- 30:35Speaker 1: he's good enough to be top ten as long as
- 30:37Speaker 1: you have other pieces in place. You can't start with
- 30:39Speaker 1: the running back. But if you have other pieces. They
- 30:42Speaker 1: nave Jayden David.
- 30:42Speaker 3: I've Leonard Fournette trauma. I can't, right, but.
- 30:45Speaker 1: They are like, oh, let's fix our offense with a
- 30:48Speaker 1: running back that can't catch passes.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Like that's not gonna work.
- 30:52Speaker 1: But I'm an Emmitt Smith guy myself actually just had
- 30:55Speaker 1: an opportunity a couple of months ago to interview him
- 30:58Speaker 1: face to face a golf celebrity golf tournament, and I
- 31:03Speaker 1: was I very rarely geek out anymore. I've got to
- 31:07Speaker 1: that point in my media career. I was a mess
- 31:11Speaker 1: interviewing Emitt Smith. Yeah, and he still looks the exact same,
- 31:15Speaker 1: by the way, fantastic, exact same as it.
- 31:18Speaker 6: He looks great last year at the Super Bowl.
- 31:20Speaker 5: Now they didn't have him promoting his tequila this year
- 31:23Speaker 5: because I think he was taking shots with every.
- 31:25Speaker 6: Single table a year ago.
- 31:26Speaker 5: But we got to take a shot with with Emmitt
- 31:28Speaker 5: Smith of his tequila and then I kept a bottle.
- 31:32Speaker 5: So that is that That is the moment that I
- 31:34Speaker 5: will always cherish.
- 31:36Speaker 2: That is fantastic.
- 31:38Speaker 1: There is thought out there, and Kendra is one of
- 31:40Speaker 1: them that believed that the Rams are going to look
- 31:43Speaker 1: at wide receiver because they're worried about Pooka Nakua.
- 31:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I guess they don't have too many needs so they
- 31:50Speaker 1: can just kind of take whatever guy they love at
- 31:53Speaker 1: pick thirteen.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Do you think it is at least possible?
- 31:57Speaker 6: Absolutely?
- 31:58Speaker 5: I think Mikayle Lemon would be perfect for them, or
- 32:00Speaker 5: Denzel Boston from Washington.
- 32:03Speaker 6: Boston is a guy that I love.
- 32:04Speaker 5: I think he's got some good ability as a bigger
- 32:06Speaker 5: bodied receiver to be your prototype X, but could also
- 32:09Speaker 5: kick inside and play some slot. Makayle Lemon has a
- 32:13Speaker 5: lot of Cooper Cup Puka Nakua like traits, So if
- 32:16Speaker 5: they wanted to move on from Pooka, Makayle Lemons just
- 32:20Speaker 5: one of these guys that runs tremendous routes, creates natural separation,
- 32:24Speaker 5: plays much bigger than its sizes.
- 32:25Speaker 6: I mean, he catches everything that's thrown to him.
- 32:28Speaker 5: He just kind of add a little bit of a
- 32:29Speaker 5: quirky NFL Combined interview. You know, that was a little
- 32:31Speaker 5: bit weird with what he was doing with his eyes
- 32:33Speaker 5: and all that stuff. But hey, I'd still drap kayle Lemon.
- 32:36Speaker 5: He's my number one wide receiver. I think there's a
- 32:38Speaker 5: lot of love there that would make a lot of
- 32:39Speaker 5: sense for me. It is interesting that it sounds like
- 32:42Speaker 5: they've done a lot of work on Monroe freeling the
- 32:44Speaker 5: Georgia tackle and that's a team that could always use
- 32:48Speaker 5: offensive line help, especially when you've got Matthew Stafford that
- 32:51Speaker 5: you need to keep upright and keep healthy. But mikayle
- 32:54Speaker 5: Lemon Kendra I think would be a tremendous pick for
- 32:56Speaker 5: the Rams.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Before we move on, I was unaware of this. I thing,
- 33:00Speaker 1: what did makayle Lemon do?
- 33:01Speaker 6: Oh did you not see this?
- 33:02Speaker 5: You should YouTube McKay lemon. And when he's at the
- 33:06Speaker 5: podium and he's doing like this, weird, very intense, like
- 33:10Speaker 5: it's almost it's game day, like he's got his game.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Dyeah.
- 33:13Speaker 6: Something was going on there and then it's all over Twitter.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Yeah it was wow.
- 33:17Speaker 6: Yeah that it was strange.
- 33:19Speaker 5: You know, but if the guy's going out there and
- 33:20Speaker 5: getting twelve hundred yards and eight touchdowns, Like, hey, do
- 33:23Speaker 5: whatever you want with your eyes.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Got a lot of Amunroth Saint Brown in him.
- 33:26Speaker 6: Yep.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I agree that I have a.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Bet in on the forty nine ers to take a
- 33:32Speaker 4: wide receiver because a lot of their top thirty visits
- 33:36Speaker 4: were with wide receivers. I think Casey Conceptsion might be
- 33:39Speaker 4: one of these guys to watch. Go to the forty
- 33:41Speaker 4: nine ers with all of the kind of question marks
- 33:43Speaker 4: that they have at receiver. What do you think about
- 33:45Speaker 4: the value of that.
- 33:47Speaker 5: I think that'd be awesome, especially with where they're picking.
- 33:49Speaker 5: I mean Casey conceptsi On I think I've got him
- 33:51Speaker 5: as my wide receiver five. Just an absolute playmaker. You know,
- 33:56Speaker 5: He's one of those guys you read your notes and
- 33:57Speaker 5: it's like, wow, should I have put Casey Conceptsio a
- 34:00Speaker 5: little bit higher here? But the body controls there, the
- 34:03Speaker 5: release he gets off the line. He is physical. I
- 34:06Speaker 5: mean he's a guy that for his size, he will
- 34:08Speaker 5: block the screens, the drags. You can play him out
- 34:11Speaker 5: of the backfield. He's got a little Luther Burden bigger
- 34:14Speaker 5: tank Dell is kind of what I comped him to.
- 34:16Speaker 5: Plus he can give you some ability as a special
- 34:19Speaker 5: teamer Omar Cooper Junior from Indiana if he's there, and
- 34:22Speaker 5: I highly doubt he will be. He's got some Deebo
- 34:25Speaker 5: Samuel like to his game where he just turns into
- 34:27Speaker 5: an absolute animal and is a running back and receiver's
- 34:31Speaker 5: body when you get the ball into his hands. But
- 34:33Speaker 5: Casey conceptsim I wonder if Buffalo could be a team
- 34:36Speaker 5: that I think that'd be a good fit.
- 34:37Speaker 6: For him too.
- 34:38Speaker 3: But yeah, I know they just got so burned on
- 34:40Speaker 3: Keon Coleman they did, and.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Maybe they trade Keon Coleman and they need another wide receiver.
- 34:44Speaker 5: So I mean there's a couple of receivers that will
- 34:48Speaker 5: go there in the bottom of the first round. But
- 34:50Speaker 5: I love that fit, Casey Conceptsio on to San Francisco.
- 34:54Speaker 4: My favorite player in this draft is Kenyan Sadik. I'm
- 34:57Speaker 4: a tight end truther, which is crazy, And I was
- 35:01Speaker 4: on with a Patriots reporter on our radio program here
- 35:04Speaker 4: in Boston this morning saying the Patriots could be interested
- 35:07Speaker 4: for the right price to move up to get Sadiq.
- 35:09Speaker 3: So what do you think is more likely? Is he
- 35:11Speaker 3: a dolphin, a chief, a raven or a Patriot? By
- 35:14Speaker 3: the end of the night.
- 35:16Speaker 6: Ooh, that's interesting.
- 35:17Speaker 5: I hadn't heard that I would lean a Raven because
- 35:20Speaker 5: I think they like that tight end for Lamark Jackson,
- 35:23Speaker 5: and you do have Mark Andrews, who's starting to get
- 35:26Speaker 5: a little bit older now, and Kenyan Sadiq would be
- 35:28Speaker 5: a phenomenal fit for them. Miami's fascinating because I feel
- 35:32Speaker 5: like that is such a Miami type of pick. But
- 35:34Speaker 5: at the same time, I don't know that they view
- 35:36Speaker 5: that they could go wide receiver. They could go so
- 35:38Speaker 5: many different ways. Maybe Miami's a team that would bail
- 35:40Speaker 5: out of there at eleven that would look to trade back.
- 35:43Speaker 3: I could say, what kind of my thought as well?
- 35:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I could absolutely see that.
- 35:47Speaker 5: But I love Kenyan Sadik and I think that, you know,
- 35:50Speaker 5: some of the knocks when I've talked to people are
- 35:52Speaker 5: his blocking ability, Like I didn't really see that. I
- 35:54Speaker 5: saw a guy that good block and is a very
- 35:56Speaker 5: willing blocker, but he is. He's phenomenal. And the issue
- 36:01Speaker 5: is some of these tight ends that have gone so high,
- 36:03Speaker 5: like Kyle Pitts, I love too, and Kyle Pitts just
- 36:06Speaker 5: never really worked out. But then you do get your
- 36:08Speaker 5: brock Bowers, so it's turned out Hoolston Loveland, Tyler Warren,
- 36:12Speaker 5: both of them are really good last year, so Kenyan Stek.
- 36:15Speaker 5: I'd actually love him to go to New England, like
- 36:17Speaker 5: I think you'd see him blossom in Excel and New England.
- 36:20Speaker 6: You guys, you guys usually have good tight ends.
- 36:22Speaker 3: I mean, that's what Jacksonville. Don't let me in with
- 36:24Speaker 3: the eyes.
- 36:24Speaker 5: We're gart Okay, okay, fair, fine, that that's understood, all right.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I thought we're just we're just throwing we're just throwing
- 36:32Speaker 1: Hunter Henry in the trash here.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Yes, he's old.
- 36:35Speaker 6: Thirteen personnels back. It's in Sean MCSUS is bringing it back.
- 36:39Speaker 4: Because rookie quarterbacks love a security blanket and a tight end.
- 36:44Speaker 3: The position has completely changed in the last ten years.
- 36:48Speaker 3: I'm a truther.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can so blanket too.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Who doesn't And he I mean he's got he's basically
- 36:54Speaker 5: a wide receiver for you, like you can use him
- 36:55Speaker 5: in a lot of different ways.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you can. You can definitely slot him out.
- 37:00Speaker 2: No issue with that. I Simpson, where do you end
- 37:03Speaker 2: up landing on his projection?
- 37:05Speaker 1: The over under four quarterback selected in Round one, sitting
- 37:10Speaker 1: at one and a half, and we've seen the juice
- 37:12Speaker 1: gonna move all over the place from minus one sixty
- 37:15Speaker 1: to minus one thirty five. And I am very tempted
- 37:19Speaker 1: to hammer the over because it's the quarterback position, the
- 37:23Speaker 1: doumb side.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Have you already bet it? Kenjo?
- 37:27Speaker 4: Oh yeah, well okay, so it wasn't available in the
- 37:29Speaker 4: action app, So for those of you out here, I
- 37:33Speaker 4: tracked Ty Simpson minus one sixty to go in the
- 37:37Speaker 4: first thirty two picks. That was my way of capping
- 37:40Speaker 4: that while tracking it in the app, just for the
- 37:42Speaker 4: people out there, right, and I.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Doubt that anybody else sneaks in, but you would still
- 37:46Speaker 1: cash the bet if we got a surprise other quarterbacks.
- 37:50Speaker 3: I have Gary Nasmeyer to go in the first round
- 37:52Speaker 3: as well, because oh I love this.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Yeah, she's throwing haymakers this trif any land on Simpson.
- 38:01Speaker 5: Look, I think this is a great draft to get
- 38:04Speaker 5: your backup quarterback. That's just kind of how I look.
- 38:06Speaker 6: At it now.
- 38:08Speaker 5: Ty Simpsons got potential if you can go to the
- 38:10Speaker 5: right place. I'd love him to go to the Rams
- 38:12Speaker 5: and sit behind Matthew Stafford. I feel the same way
- 38:14Speaker 5: really about any of these quarterbacks. Drew Aller, Garrett Nussmeyer.
- 38:18Speaker 5: I want the chaos where Arizona trades back from three.
- 38:22Speaker 5: Maybe it's like Kansas City moves up or name the team,
- 38:25Speaker 5: and then they slide back to nine and take ty Simpson.
- 38:28Speaker 5: Like I want a world where ty Simpson does go
- 38:30Speaker 5: in the top ten and we're looking at like Michael
- 38:33Speaker 5: Pennix Junior went eight, Taylan and we're like what.
- 38:35Speaker 6: I've been saying after they just do. I'm here for it.
- 38:38Speaker 5: I want it and selfishly good for the Cowboys pushing
- 38:42Speaker 5: down a defensive player doing it please, So.
- 38:45Speaker 6: I'm with you.
- 38:45Speaker 5: I think ultimately ty Simpson's gonna go Round one. I
- 38:48Speaker 5: also think, like I'm less in the value now of
- 38:50Speaker 5: that fifth year option, but I do think for quarterbacks
- 38:54Speaker 5: that can matter and you want that in your back pocket.
- 38:57Speaker 5: So yeah, I think Tysimson, whether it's Arizona trade back
- 39:00Speaker 5: into the first round, whether it's the Jets, one of
- 39:03Speaker 5: these teams is going to go and get that guy.
- 39:04Speaker 5: And I do think at least I goes in the
- 39:07Speaker 5: first round, so you get two quarterbacks to go.
- 39:10Speaker 4: I think Garrett nas Meyer is going to be the
- 39:12Speaker 4: Jackson Dart of this draft.
- 39:13Speaker 3: And I'm sticking on standing on business with that, my final.
- 39:17Speaker 4: Question, is this a bad draft like everyone has been saying,
- 39:22Speaker 4: or is it just that there aren't a ton of
- 39:24Speaker 4: quarterbacks at the top and that's the easy way for
- 39:27Speaker 4: people to be able to analyze a draft.
- 39:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that it is the quarterbacks. You don't
- 39:32Speaker 5: have your typical left tackles that we've been spoiled with.
- 39:35Speaker 5: I mean, your two best alignment are right tackles. You know,
- 39:37Speaker 5: whether it's Fano from Utah and then Malano who I
- 39:40Speaker 5: mentioned from Miami, the left tackles, your projects, Monroe Freeling,
- 39:45Speaker 5: you know, Miller from Clemson Max I because I've heard
- 39:49Speaker 5: so many different pronunciations for his last name for hers
- 39:51Speaker 5: on the state.
- 39:51Speaker 6: That's a dude I'd gamble on. And I loved Mike
- 39:54Speaker 6: Rabel getting at that pro day they were getting into it.
- 39:58Speaker 3: I think, yeah, he hands on very much.
- 40:00Speaker 6: So I mean, we know he's a hands on kind
- 40:02Speaker 6: of guy.
- 40:03Speaker 5: So I think that you're gonna get the offensive tackles
- 40:06Speaker 5: will also be elevated, just because that's a position that's valued.
- 40:10Speaker 5: But I think that the meat of this draft is
- 40:12Speaker 5: Day two. Like, I think there's a lot of really
- 40:14Speaker 5: good talent in the second and third rounds. So it's
- 40:17Speaker 5: just it's not a bad draft. It's just you don't
- 40:19Speaker 5: have your elite type of oh Man that is a
- 40:23Speaker 5: generational type prospect, and you don't have your quarterbacks like
- 40:26Speaker 5: we had a couple of years ago. So the first round,
- 40:29Speaker 5: the top ten is so varied to where, yes, you're
- 40:32Speaker 5: talking about Caleb Downs a safety, Sunny Styles a linebacker,
- 40:36Speaker 5: these positions that you think you can get good value
- 40:39Speaker 5: on later in the draft. They should be top ten
- 40:42Speaker 5: picks and they should go high because they're damn good
- 40:45Speaker 5: football players. But I still think at the end of
- 40:47Speaker 5: the day, the positional value is gonna win out, and
- 40:49Speaker 5: maybe you do see your three quarterbacks go. You're gonna
- 40:52Speaker 5: see more offensive tackles, regardless if they're worthy of being
- 40:55Speaker 5: first round picks go, because those are the positions that
- 40:58Speaker 5: typically go higher in the class. But I think the
- 41:00Speaker 5: second and third round is really strong this year.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good question because it really comes down
- 41:06Speaker 1: to how you grade what a good draft is. And
- 41:09Speaker 1: I think most people that say that have no idea
- 41:13Speaker 1: how to actually grade what a good draft is. They
- 41:15Speaker 1: just look at the first five picks and they make
- 41:17Speaker 1: their decision. From there, let's get to our draft Kings
- 41:20Speaker 1: pick of the week. Time to plant our flag on
- 41:23Speaker 1: the NFL Draft. NFC East Beast edition.
- 41:29Speaker 6: Might the flag and it set up I'm trying to
- 41:31Speaker 6: plant my flag here.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Okay, you're really planning your flag in that text. Let's
- 41:35Speaker 1: go NFC East Bets for the NFL Draft. Kendra, we
- 41:39Speaker 1: will start with you.
- 41:41Speaker 3: I think I'm gonna keep it simple.
- 41:42Speaker 4: I'm kind of falling into whether they stay or they
- 41:45Speaker 4: go the Cowboys being in love with Sonny styles or
- 41:48Speaker 4: adding to the defense. If they stay at their pick,
- 41:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with them to take a linebacker.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Zach, what do you got for us?
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 41:55Speaker 5: At number seven, I'm gonna say that Carnell Tate is
- 41:58Speaker 5: on the board for Washington, and Carnel Tate's their pike
- 42:01Speaker 5: at plus two twenty five.
- 42:02Speaker 6: So I'll rock with that.
- 42:04Speaker 5: I think at six Cleveland could go a lot of
- 42:06Speaker 5: different ways, and maybe they do take Carnel Tait. I'm
- 42:09Speaker 5: expecting Cleveland's going to Cleveland and they're gonna take like
- 42:12Speaker 5: Cayden Proctor from Alabama, or they'll go with Monroe Freeling
- 42:15Speaker 5: or Fino, one of these offensive tackles that maybe turned
- 42:19Speaker 5: out to be a great bit, maybe turned out to
- 42:21Speaker 5: be a bad bust. But that leaves Carnell Tate to Washington,
- 42:25Speaker 5: and I like that value plus two twenty five.
- 42:27Speaker 1: I threw together that this is not scientific, and I
- 42:31Speaker 1: don't do the mock draft thing, but I was trying
- 42:34Speaker 1: to lay some bets down, so I had to kind
- 42:36Speaker 1: of like map it out in my head of how
- 42:38Speaker 1: this drafts would go. So I got Tait to the
- 42:41Speaker 1: Browns at six, which we've now seen from some mocks,
- 42:45Speaker 1: but right there in that range, he's that's where he's
- 42:47Speaker 1: gonna end up going. And then David Bailey, I asked
- 42:50Speaker 1: you about him, I had him slipping all the way
- 42:52Speaker 1: down to seven. I think one of those guys, probably
- 42:56Speaker 1: Bailey more so than Rville Reees, is gonna fall. Now
- 42:59Speaker 1: that's not the This is just I'm just telling you
- 43:01Speaker 1: how you got to get players off the board so
- 43:03Speaker 1: that you can see who you're still working with. Sonny
- 43:06Speaker 1: Styles plus one fifty to go fifth to the New
- 43:09Speaker 1: York Giants, and then for the Giants in a dream world,
- 43:15Speaker 1: getting Caleb downs at ten. And you brought up that
- 43:18Speaker 1: possibility and how much that would terrify Cowboy Nation. The
- 43:21Speaker 1: latest news to come from Daniel Jeremiah is that the
- 43:24Speaker 1: Giants are not taking Sonny Styles. But guys, I believe
- 43:30Speaker 1: nothing that I hear the week of the draft. So
- 43:34Speaker 1: I am calling bs on that I trust sportsbetters more
- 43:38Speaker 1: than I trust coaches and gms the week of the
- 43:40Speaker 1: NFL Draft, and Sonny Styles still the short shot to
- 43:44Speaker 1: go to the Giants at five, So that'll be my
- 43:45Speaker 1: official play. The Caleb Downs thing, I think is more
- 43:48Speaker 1: of a dream world. I don't think he's gonna make
- 43:50Speaker 1: it to ten, but Sonny Styles should be on the
- 43:52Speaker 1: board at five at plus one fifty.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Any feedback on that, Zach No, I love it.
- 43:58Speaker 5: I would also throw something Jordan Tyson at five. I
- 44:01Speaker 5: mean Shrad's thrown out Tyson. I think the Giants want
- 44:05Speaker 5: to get a receiver, and I don't think that ty
- 44:07Speaker 5: I think Tyson's less likely to make it to ten
- 44:09Speaker 5: right now than either Styles or Downs would be. So
- 44:13Speaker 5: if you really want Jordan Tyson, I don't know that
- 44:16Speaker 5: he's going to be able to make it to you
- 44:17Speaker 5: and navigate the minefield that would be New Orleans at eight.
- 44:20Speaker 5: He can maybe Washington at seven. I think you got
- 44:23Speaker 5: to pull the trigger there at five. Maybe it's Carnell Tate,
- 44:25Speaker 5: whatever the wide receiver is, that the giants would come it.
- 44:28Speaker 5: But I do think there's a lot of buzz right
- 44:29Speaker 5: now around around Jordan Tyson.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Jordan Tyson to go top five is that's gonna be
- 44:37Speaker 1: quite the number if you end up draft, if you
- 44:40Speaker 1: end up going that route. I'm looking at that on
- 44:43Speaker 1: DK and and let's not missing it. I don't even
- 44:46Speaker 1: think they're off. Oh there it is it plus two ninety. Okay,
- 44:48Speaker 1: that's not as crazy. Yeah, you're right, the we are definitely.
- 44:54Speaker 1: That's a much shorter number than what would have been
- 44:56Speaker 1: a couple of days ago. So where there is smoke,
- 44:59Speaker 1: there's fire. Hi my friend Zach. Where can people find
- 45:01Speaker 1: your work?
- 45:02Speaker 5: You can find me on the g Bag Nation one
- 45:04Speaker 5: oh five through the Fan in Dallas two to seven weekdays.
- 45:08Speaker 5: I'm also on Crown Global Media hosting a show called
- 45:10Speaker 5: The Stack. You can find that on YouTube, and then
- 45:12Speaker 5: the Love of the Star podcast that's an honesty podcast
- 45:15Speaker 5: you can find on the Odyssey app or wherever you
- 45:17Speaker 5: get your podcasts, and follow me at Zach Wolchuck basically
- 45:21Speaker 5: on all platforms.
- 45:23Speaker 1: And a quick recap on our drafts presented or our
