- Shaun: Welcome back to the reset. I am Sean Tucker, human performance scientist and authority architect. We are here in the Living Lab documenting the science, the struggle, and the shift for every high performance dad and founder who is ready to bridge the gap between their ambition and their presence. Rigid plans fail. Good leaders adapt their plan. They don't forget their goal. This framework works. The first thing you need to understand if you want to succeed in business, in fitness, in whatever it is that you're setting yourself to achieve in your life. The first thing, number one, is you need to know that the plan you have needs to change and adapt over time. So you cannot have the perfect plan. The reason why most people fail is Isn't because they're not good enough. It's actually because they set a plan and it is way too rigid. The perfect plan stops people from actually taking action. Because there's no such thing as a perfect plan anyway. The plan that is perfect is the one that adapts and changes as you move towards your goal. That's step number one. Step number two is make sure you are measuring. You're measuring what you are doing each and every day. It might start out with you're not looking at spreadsheets, but you're just looking at pure numbers or even just a feeling, you're rating yourself. How did I do today? And you're keeping track, because what gets tracked gets measured, and what gets measured gets results. That's number two is make sure you are measuring. Because if you're not tracking, you're not measuring. And if you're not measuring, you're not gonna get results consistently over time anyway. So that's step number two. Step number three, check your ego. A lot of people think they can set the bar really high, especially in business, especially in coaching. They're like, I can help my clients achieve this. And I'm going to charge a lot of money for it. The issue with that, and I've been here, I've done this, is you set the standard and you eliminate all the people that you probably could work with and actually get results with. If you set your inner value, I'm not working with people unless I'm getting paid this amount of money. If you went out into the corporate world and said, I'm only gonna work for you if I'm getting paid this much, unless you have the results to show for it and the credibility that stands strong for it, there's no way they're gonna let you have that job. There's no way. Because people care about results. Maybe less so in corporate world. It is more about who you know and the credibility and the accolades that you have. But in the coaching realm, it is easy to sell someone on something that's painful. But make sure you can back it up with the results. You have case studies, you have social proof that your method works. Don't overcharge. Better to stay humble, gain the experience, gain the reps, gain the track record. Have people talk about what you do. This is what I achieved with working with this person. Maybe you can do it too. That's the best kind of marketing is when you have someone talk about what you do and they can clearly articulate what you do. That's even better. They've got results and they do your marketing for you. How good is that? So that's step number three. Step number four. So you've checked you've checked your ego, you're measuring, and you have a plan that doesn't go to plan. Which is step number one. That's awesome. Step number four is measure based on your inputs, not the destination at which you're headed. So think or feel into you've already achieved the outcome. So you're moving towards creating the feeling of I've already made it. This is what I would do in the process. So you already feel good when you're going through it. You're not waiting for the outcome to come and then feel good. There's no point in doing that because Honest answer, it doesn't actually help. If you're waiting for the outcome to come before you can feel good and have a process that you can actually enjoy, you're doing it completely wrong. I've been there done that too. So create the feeling as if it's already completed. If you're already the best person in the world at that job that you're doing, or having someone or Helping people achieve that outcome, then make sure that you make the process feel that way the whole way t the whole time through. The whole way through. Enjoy it. Cause that's what people will enjoy doing with you. They'll enjoy going through that process with you. Doesn't matter if you're in team sports, doesn't matter if you're working with clients, it doesn't matter if it's just you and your work and the book that you're writing. If you enjoy the process, I guarantee the outcome will also be enjoyable 'cause you're already doing it as if it's already happened. So that that's step number f that's the that's really the last step. So if you follow this framework, I hundred percent guarantee you will start getting not only the results for yourself, but for your team, for your family, and everyone will wonder, what has this guy been taking? What is this woman or whoever is listening right now? What has this person been taking? Are they on drugs? Because they just seem too happy and too joyful in what they're actually going through. And actually I'm gonna add one more step, a bonus step. Celebrate the hell out of it. I'm on a winning streak. Seriously. Try it. I'm on a winning streak. Start noticing the great in everything. And start to see that, wow, I have so much abundance. There are so many opportunities right now for you and for me. And if we don't celebrate ⁓ guess what? We become more neurotic. We start seeing what we don't have and what we'd rather have. So keep on that winning streak, keep celebrating those little milestones, those little successes. Even just the smile that you receive from someone who is a complete stranger to you. Or maybe you smile at them. Right? I'm on a winning streak, like give that out. Celebrate. Be joyful. Enjoy it.
