- 0:00Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:03access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:44Hi, it's Adam here, and you're about to listen to a hypnosis
- 0:48session all about a metaphor of finding new opportunities, new
- 0:54things to do, new adventures. And I was working with a.
- 0:58Client that had. Already set the intention to
- 1:00retire, but something had happened in their worklace,
- 1:04which meant that they had retirement earlier than they
- 1:07were expecting. They'd also sold their house,
- 1:09They were going to downsize to somewhere new.
- 1:12So there was a change to their living circumstances, a change
- 1:16to their working circumstances, and they had more time.
- 1:20And what they were concerned about is that they didn't want
- 1:23to stagnate and to get into routines that were monotonous or
- 1:29boring. And what was interesting is that
- 1:32they had a positive association with the idea of surfing,
- 1:37particularly body boarding or the kind of surfing where you
- 1:39stand up. And therefore what you're going
- 1:42to hear in this hypnosis session is a metaphor of finding waves.
- 1:47And what I like about this metaphor is that all waves are
- 1:50temporary. There's never ever been a wave
- 1:52that's lasted forever, So therefore the waves are
- 1:55temporary. But to find a way, if you've got
- 1:57to be in the right kind of environment, you're not going to
- 2:00find a wave on land. You have to find a wave in the
- 2:04ocean. And that means being on the
- 2:05right beaches, looking at the currents, having your eyes open
- 2:09and your attention there. But then when you see the
- 2:10opportunity, taking the opportunity.
- 2:13So this resonated with the client because they could have
- 2:17an idea that there were lots of possible things they wanted to
- 2:20do in their future, but they weren't entirely sure what they
- 2:24did want to do. So the waves become a
- 2:26representation of things they can try.
- 2:29And that might be goals, it might be experiences, it might
- 2:32be places to visit. And the element of riding the
- 2:36wave also links to this idea of mindfulness.
- 2:40So there's a bit going on here, but I would encourage you to
- 2:44think about where in your life do things feel bored, you know,
- 2:49or monotonous or just a bit stale or stagnant, and therefore
- 2:54just think of the waves. As new things.
- 2:58And that could be new friendships, new things to.
- 3:00Learn new. Places to visit, new things to
- 3:03try, and then when you're listening to the waves, don't be
- 3:06surprised if ideas pop up for you that might lead to
- 3:10interesting things that you want to.
- 3:12Go and seek out. This was created for someone
- 3:16else. Some of these suggestions might
- 3:17be perfect for them, but not quite right for you.
- 3:20So if you do like the idea of working with me directly, there
- 3:23will be a link in the description where you can book a
- 3:26completely free consultation call to explore working with me.
- 3:29But there's also lots of free things in there, a free course,
- 3:32free downloads. So if you like the kind of stuff
- 3:34that I do, check out the description on the show notes.
- 3:37Download whatever tickles your pickle and and tickles your
- 3:40fancy. There's lots of free stuff in
- 3:43there. For now, though, find a quiet,
- 3:46comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 3:48Relax and enjoy the. Session.
- 4:47Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:57long relaxing breath. And as you exhale, feel a sense
- 5:05of release, as if tension, stress or worries are leaving
- 5:12your body in that outward breath.
- 5:16And when you breathe in again, breathe in deeper and longer.
- 5:25And as you exhale, just elongate the outward breath, eyelids
- 5:34feeling heavy and relaxed and just feeling the release of that
- 5:39outward breath, like you're letting go, breathing in
- 5:48relaxation and exhaling tension. Each breath takes you deeper and
- 5:58more relaxed than the previous breath, More and more
- 6:04comfortable, deeper and deeper, relaxed.
- 6:11That's it. And doesn't it feel good to
- 6:18allow yourself to just feel like you're drifting to a place where
- 6:26change happens? And sometimes the best changes
- 6:36are when a thought it becomes an idea, and an idea becomes a new
- 6:45way of thinking, a new way of subtly making new choices,
- 6:57intuitive decisions that take your life in a wonderful new
- 7:03direction. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 7:13more relaxed you become. And the more relaxed you become,
- 7:18the deeper you breathe. And as you find yourself
- 7:23relaxing even more, maybe it's good to position your body in a
- 7:29way that you can feel even more comfortable, your eyelids
- 7:37feeling even more relaxed now. The heaviness in the eyelids and
- 7:47on the next outward breath just allow your body to release even
- 7:55more tension, enabling arms and legs to just feel soft and
- 8:02loose, heavy and relaxed. On the next inhale, feel like
- 8:13you're breathing in a sense of calm.
- 8:17And on the exhale, allow yourself to release any
- 8:25heaviness, echoes of emotions that you no longer need to
- 8:32carry. And as you breathe in and
- 8:37breathe out, you realise that there's nothing you need to do
- 8:44right now. But maybe you notice the natural
- 8:49rhythm of your breath. And the rhythm of your breath is
- 8:54like waves gently laughing at the shore, coming in and going
- 9:00out, a steady, soothing rhythm that helps you drift even
- 9:11deeper. And as you imagine those waves
- 9:17gently lapping at the shore, I want you to see the ocean
- 9:23connected to that beach. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 9:29a place that you've never been. And yet somehow this beach, this
- 9:36Cove, it feels familiar. And maybe you could imagine warm
- 9:44sand beneath your feet, that feeling of a gentle breeze or
- 9:53sunshine on your skin. And I wonder if you could
- 10:00imagine an the ocean that stretches endlessly all the way
- 10:05to the horizon and the sun is shimmering off the surface of
- 10:12the water. It seems inviting, magnificent,
- 10:21enticing. And I wonder if you could
- 10:28imagine wearing whatever clothing is suitable to be in
- 10:34the water. And as you walk toward the
- 10:39water, feeling the wet sand and then the waves around your
- 10:46ankles and legs, allow each step to feel lighter and each breath
- 10:56deeper as you begin to feel a sense of possibility as vast as
- 11:05the sea, breathing in relaxation, exhaling tension.
- 11:15And I want you to notice a surfboard almost like it's
- 11:20waiting just for you. Sturdy, strong, the right length
- 11:28and shape just for you. But this board represents
- 11:35something. This board is your trust, your
- 11:43trust in life, in yourself, and in the unfolding journey of your
- 11:50future. And as you wade into the water,
- 11:57cool, refreshing. Imagine that the water itself
- 12:02awakens something inside you. And then imagine climbing above
- 12:15and surfboard, allowing it to support your weight, and then
- 12:20paddle out into the sea where the waves are gentle at first,
- 12:28just bobbing up and down each tiny wave, lifting you, carrying
- 12:37you, reminding you there is nothing that you need to force.
- 12:47Just allow the buoyancy to ride and glide as you drift out
- 12:57deeper and deeper. And as you imagine going further
- 13:04out, imagine being able to read the ocean, finding the rhythm of
- 13:14the waves. And some are big and some are
- 13:19small, some are powerful and some are calm.
- 13:28But the waves never stop. There are always more waves.
- 13:40And for a period of time, even if the sea is still, the energy
- 13:46is building. And even when the tide is out,
- 13:54it's also temporary because the tide will come back in.
- 14:04And maybe the ocean is an ocean of possibility.
- 14:12And it feels like your life now. I want you to get a sense that
- 14:22sometimes people get attached to things like a job or a house or
- 14:30a city, and these things become anchors that stop the
- 14:39exploration. It can hold us back, but I want
- 14:48you to feel a sense of untold possibility.
- 14:57There is no anchor attached to you, just you, the surfboard and
- 15:05the ocean. Knowing that you can leave this
- 15:09beach and go to a different beach.
- 15:19And if you were to imagine how many beaches there are in the
- 15:22world, there would be thousands upon thousands everyday finding
- 15:33a new beach and you still couldn't see them all.
- 15:41But what if each beach represents something different
- 15:49in your future, not just a destination?
- 15:55It may be a decision, an intention, an opportunity.
- 16:03And what if the waves are just moments?
- 16:13Moments that you can ride experience to just be.
- 16:25And some beaches that you think will be incredible aren't what
- 16:33you think they will be. And other beaches where you have
- 16:38low expectations will surprise you with wonderful waves you
- 16:46weren't expecting. And of course, there may be
- 16:51moments of uncertainty, moments where you wonder when and where
- 16:59the next wave will come. But you're learning now that the
- 17:07wave always comes, sometimes different to what you expect,
- 17:17but it always comes. Maybe not here, or maybe not
- 17:22now, but always eventually. But no surfer goes to a beach
- 17:36looking for a guarantee of a specific wave.
- 17:41They go to the beach hoping for waves, responsive to waves, and
- 17:50prepared for waves. I want you to get a sense that
- 17:58some waves in your future will take you further than others and
- 18:05some waves will teach you more than others, but all of them
- 18:11give you an experience and with that experience you will learn
- 18:18or enjoy. I want you to get a sands then.
- 18:27Life is full of beaches and waves and just as the ocean is
- 18:34never truly still, neither are you.
- 18:42When 1 chapter ends, another chapter begins, but nothing has
- 18:48ended. Nothing is finished, just
- 18:52different, evolving, adapting and changing.
- 19:06And this next chapter? What if you are the author as
- 19:13well as the reader, the custodian of this chapter,
- 19:20responsible for the time, energy and health that you now hold in
- 19:27your hands as you consider yourself a steward of
- 19:33creativity, a guardian of presence, a keeper of joyful
- 19:41progress and with every breath, feel and honour.
- 19:52The responsibility gives you options without obligations, and
- 20:01you choose to take the option to live from a mindful present
- 20:11place. Your future is not a burden, but
- 20:15a gift. And I want you to feel a whole
- 20:22new level of dedication arising within you, And not the kind of
- 20:31dedication that belongs to a boss or a building, but to
- 20:39yourself. To your values, to your
- 20:45experiences, to your art and creativity, to the people and
- 20:52projects that resonate with you, that light you up inside, where
- 21:00every walk and every conversation, every act of
- 21:05creation becomes part of a legacy that you're now building.
- 21:11And what if that is a legacy of living well, with intention,
- 21:19with meaning, and with the impact as you begin to feel more
- 21:24inspired, as if the waves are not just out there in the ocean,
- 21:32but within you, letting you know that you are ready and your
- 21:41future does not have to be mapped out.
- 21:47You are becoming someone that can ride any wave on any beach
- 21:54in any ocean because you are your body and your board.
- 22:05You find the beach, you ride out to the waves, knowing that each
- 22:13wave can be appreciated. But the when the wave goes back
- 22:21into the ocean, you know a new wave, a different wave is not
- 22:31far behind. And I want you to think about
- 22:38the next few weeks and months. Maybe it's a trip to a region
- 22:48you've not been before. Maybe that's the beach and the
- 22:55moments of the waves. Maybe it's a new.
- 23:00Creative pursuit. That's the beach and what you
- 23:06create are the waves. Maybe it's something you'd like
- 23:14to learn. Maybe that's the beach and the
- 23:20learning is riding those waves. You are the custodian, you are
- 23:34the steward, you are the seeker and the rider of the waves.
- 23:44And if your unconscious mind as an idea.
- 23:49Of those. Future waves, let me know by
- 23:50nodding your head. Consider that a seed of an idea
- 23:58planted deep in your subconscious mind that will take
- 24:03root and bear many more fruit of other ideas, similar and
- 24:11different. And the more creative you are,
- 24:18the more creative you can be. And creativity starts with an
- 24:25idea, a thought. So consider that thought a seed
- 24:33that's been planted now as it's time to return from beaches and
- 24:39oceans, waves and surfboards, all the way back to the present.
- 24:47So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 24:52nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 24:56wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 24:59here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 25:04you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 25:12456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 25:16Open your eyes 910. Wide awake.
- 25:21Wide awake. Wide awake.
