- 0:31Welcome to authentic living with Roxanne, a global voice Radio.
- 0:36Join Roxanne Derhodge and her thought provoking conversations, the catalyst to live your life
- 0:42to the fullest.
- 0:59So, everyone, it's Roxanne Derhodge.
- 1:01Thank you so much again for tuning in for authentic living with Roxanne.
- 1:05Today, I have, a very special guest from Florida, Mr.
- 1:10Bernie Gorman, Bernie has, taken his, his busy time to spend with us.
- 1:16He is a thought leader and the CEO of CEO space that's based out in Florida.
- 1:22And, I want you to, really kind of CO space is coming to Canada and I'm so impressed that
- 1:33they're going to be there because what I am interested in is with my event, the authentic
- 1:38movement, which is happening in Toronto on June 22nd, is to bring, the heighten the elements of
- 1:45mental wellness, in the workplace and the impact that it's having, day to day on people's
- 1:52lives, we know that when people are more connected, to, their leaders and, others around
- 1:58them, they minimize the impact, of the things that they're experiencing at home.
- 2:03Oftentimes, people bring things from home, because we bring our our full selves to work.
- 2:08And what I'm hoping the event will do is we'll teach, some strategies from early intervention
- 2:15to prevention where Mr.
- 2:17Brian Cuban will be sharing his unfortunate, plight and some of the things and some of the
- 2:22strategies who use this as an advocate.
- 2:24So thanks, Bernie for being here.
- 2:27So, Bernie, you know, tell me a little bit about yourself and we've been in this, field
- 2:33for, you know, I think is it's been about 3 decades, right?
- 2:37Starting our 4th decade, and we started at the Chanticleer Hotel in Quebec
- 2:44Wow.
- 2:46In Canada.
- 2:47So Cospace actually started in Canada.
- 2:50We have thousands of members all over from Nova Scotia to Vancouver.
- 2:55And, so we love serving our business owners, our professionals in practice.
- 2:59And we're the number one business conference 5 years in a row, so we're very excited about
- 3:04that by 3rd party press on the hard ones, like ink magazine, Forbes Magazine.
- 3:09And all that ranking globally.
- 3:11But, you know, authentic living, when you come to that conference, your brand is expressed in
- 3:17the market.
- 3:18To celebrate you, based on how authentic you are.
- 3:22And so when you gain tools and tactics to be more authentic, your customers are retained.
- 3:31You can't lose your customers when you're authentic with them.
- 3:35You also get more repeat buying and Usually, if you can just stimulate repeat buying, in a
- 3:42system, that creates almost doubling your if you really get it right.
- 3:48And then you get referral marketing where every 10 clients brings you 3.
- 3:53That's 30 per 10 new customers.
- 3:56Once you get the first part right, we call it the 3 r's.
- 4:00And so to get retention, repeat buying, and referral marketing, retention, repeat buying
- 4:07and referral marketing, you have to be in your highest authentic in your brand space and your
- 4:13conference in June.
- 4:15As you come into half the year is gone.
- 4:19You're starting the second half, which is the big ramp up into 80% of all consumer buying.
- 4:25Folks.
- 4:26This is the biggest boom of our adult lifetime.
- 4:29Yes.
- 4:29There's cycles up and down, and there's a, you know, whether it's Italy or Iran or whatever.
- 4:34There's always stuff in the news, but it's booming worldwide everywhere, and it's gonna
- 4:39continue to boom.
- 4:40Don't miss the second half of the year.
- 4:43Get yourself an authentic living and bring yourself a brand compression that makes less
- 4:51impressions to get a yes.
- 4:53Also, when you're with everyone's authentic and they're all in business.
- 4:59You'll get customers, clients, you'll, in other words, make your network.
- 5:04Choose the meetings.
- 5:06That make your network, alright, so that your net is working.
- 5:10You're gonna get some great new clients of authentic living because you're like minded
- 5:15business owner.
- 5:16So I highly recommend it, and we're the number one business conference in the world.
- 5:20When we recommend authentic living, That is a big endorsement, and we're writing all our
- 5:26grads in the entire community to come on down from Toronto.
- 5:31Get into it.
- 5:32And these are business owners at the top.
- 5:35We started with Harve Eckert and Bob Proctor and your most famous Canadian chicken soup
- 5:42author, Barry Spellchick, which I'd like him to come down.
- 5:46He'd probably be one of your best faculty members on authentic living.
- 5:50Talk to Dave about various spell check, chicken soup author.
- 5:53Well, I would love to have him there.
- 5:55So that whole Yeah.
- 5:57About authenticity and, CEO space and and snap.
- 6:00I think that's because I know Dave Phillipsson, your, your president that runs your your, your
- 6:07California chapter is going to be there and and speaking and also doing the snap method.
- 6:13So I want you to You know, when I think of authenticity, you're so right.
- 6:16Everybody wants to experience me for who I am.
- 6:19My background is I've been a psychotherapist and I've written a book on on relationships.
- 6:24And what I did in in a movie is I wrote them on my own life.
- 6:28So what I did, Bernie, was I said, you know, Here I am.
- 6:30I was, you know, twenty one years old, front line with a Metro trauma police all the way up
- 6:34to working with CEOs after consulting.
- 6:37And then I thought, what could I get back to the marketplace to help individuals recognize
- 6:43that really They connected to yourself as the best gift that you could give yourself and
- 6:47obviously the world.
- 6:48So I took my own life, and I I basically, analyzed my own lives like I would have done
- 6:54patients or individuals or that I would coach, and I put that out into the market.
- 6:59And what I recognized was I am who I am.
- 7:03A little girl from Trinidad Tabago, that had a dream to help others.
- 7:08And decided, you know, what will how you know, who's gonna pay me to speak?
- 7:12Well, and help people, and that's where I kind of went into the field of psychology as a
- 7:15psychologist.
- 7:17So, you know, authenticity is key in everything that I know about.
- 7:21We we have a crisis.
- 7:24It's not of leadership.
- 7:25Everybody has all the greatest leadership training there is.
- 7:29We have a crisis ladies and gentlemen in the world everywhere.
- 7:33In integrity.
- 7:35So if we want a world where we all cooperate and come together and we turn into one of each
- 7:41other instead of on each other.
- 7:43We're not the shark tank.
- 7:46We're the Dolphin tank.
- 7:47We have to have integrity.
- 7:49You'll cooperate with me, and I'll cooperate with you if we're in integrity.
- 7:55And so when you do super networking, which is what snap, that word she used stands for.
- 8:01We compress networking by getting you all to agree, you're not there to get.
- 8:08You're there with your amazing mentorship and contacts.
- 8:12To help someone else.
- 8:14And if everybody's in integrity to 100% help each other, you get more out of the networking
- 8:21in that time frame, then you would get out of the year of networking.
- 8:26And we proved it, won a warehouse full of trophies on it.
- 8:29So Snap is a networking exercise inside CEO space that we're gifting to you in Toronto.
- 8:39Everyone that ever experiences at a conference says that was where the whole ticket price,
- 8:45just that.
- 8:46Because the contacts you get are so extraordinary.
- 8:49You get so many, and the quality is so good because we're all in integrity.
- 8:54So I just tell you, I mean, your tools and tactics are teaching us, be an integrity, be
- 9:02your own and assess your brand, reassess Is it expressing your personal authenticity?
- 9:09Are you truly on the outside what you are on the inside?
- 9:13And if you're not, why don't you do an assessment?
- 9:15It normally costs a lot of money here.
- 9:17It's very inexpensive.
- 9:19Buy a ticket.
- 9:20Come in.
- 9:21Tell others in your circle to come in with you.
- 9:23The more you bring, the more the networking will grow.
- 9:26You'll have bigger networking outcomes.
- 9:29And spread the word.
- 9:31This is a great event with amazing practical networking that will get you customers,
- 9:37clients, and have a tool and tactic.
- 9:41You'll leave with a new tool kit, like a little orange chest from Sears one of the big outlets.
- 9:50You're gonna have all these tools on being authentic.
- 9:54It'll make your brand have integrity it'll change your relationship with your customer.
- 10:00It's gonna reduce the frequency and number of impressions.
- 10:04To get a yes.
- 10:05And I'm gonna tell you if I could take 12 impressions in 3 months in a customer building
- 10:12relationship, and get you a relationship in one click or 2, build your relationship, shrink,
- 10:19and compress be a compression for how many times we have to interact and get a yes.
- 10:26That's your future.
- 10:28That's everything in your future.
- 10:30And if you're on salary and you work for a company, just remember.
- 10:34And this is my one truth that's in all my books.
- 10:37Nothing happens.
- 10:39Nothing happens unless you sell something.
- 10:46You sell something when you get married.
- 10:49You sell something when you have a baby.
- 10:51You sell something when you do anything at work because you're getting confidence.
- 10:56You're getting trust.
- 10:58You're getting relationship qualities and values.
- 11:01You have to have that engine to be effective.
- 11:04And so you will get the tools in being authentic that the number of times it takes to
- 11:12get buy in.
- 11:13From your tribe, you have to work with reduces.
- 11:17That's the ball game.
- 11:18Let me say it one other way, and I'll stop.
- 11:20If you had a teeter totter, and I can improve your request language.
- 11:25The most important language of an adult is the power of their request, which is always clear
- 11:32as mud here and usually here instead of clear as crystal when it comes out of here.
- 11:38We don't want clear as mud.
- 11:40And if I can improve your your request quality by being authentic, 30%, just 30%.
- 11:49It increases the consequence and outcome on the teeter totter by 500%.
- 11:56A 30% increase in adult request quality is a 500% increase on outcome and result.
- 12:04And here at the authentic conference, we're gonna do just that.
- 12:08You're not gonna walk out the same.
- 12:10People pay 5, 10,000 for what you're gonna get ticket price.
- 12:15Don't miss this one.
- 12:16And she doesn't care.
- 12:17She just given back as one of the I'm, you know, personally impressed with her credentials
- 12:23background, what she's already done, and her contribution magnet as far as she is magnetism
- 12:29to wanna get back now and legacy part of her life to you.
- 12:33So this is the 1.
- 12:35If it crossed your path, it is the law of attraction.
- 12:39So I'll tell you opportunities knock on all the time.
- 12:42But, folks, you gotta answer the door.
- 12:46You gotta open by the ticket, answer the door.
- 12:49Come in and get that networking at our super networking snap, and you'll come and tell the
- 12:55boss that was worth the whole ticket price by itself.
- 13:01I guarantee you that.
- 13:03So, you know, you what you're describing, you know, you talk about touch points in this busy
- 13:07world, right, and to get a new customer, it's so interesting that you you talk about because
- 13:12I've been, I've been in an account executive role for a health and wellness company.
- 13:16It took so much for us to get a new customer, Bernie, And what happens with companies, and
- 13:23even in the company that I worked for, you know, the golden boys where the new the
- 13:27business development people with the account executives, we were the ones that were
- 13:31maintaining all the relationships.
- 13:33Right?
- 13:34Right.
- 13:35That became so important because you know, I was sharing earlier, with someone on a business
- 13:40call.
- 13:40I said, you know, I could maintain, relationships with these individuals because I
- 13:47would just touch base.
- 13:49I wouldn't wait till it was the quarterly newsletter.
- 13:51I wouldn't, you know, wait till this was the event I had to attend on behalf of the company.
- 13:56I would just reach out and say, you know, I heard, you know, this happened, you know,
- 14:00internally or externally, and they would say, fire ups and thanks so much.
- 14:04Yeah.
- 14:04This is what's going on.
- 14:06You know, this has happened and this is stressful and I can't believe this has
- 14:09happened.
- 14:09And then what would happen inadvertently is 2, 3 years into the contract.
- 14:13There would be renewal time, and there would be no discussion.
- 14:18There'd be no competition to be able to use us as the service provider because they were
- 14:23connected.
- 14:24Yes.
- 14:25That's exactly right.
- 14:26You know?
- 14:27I mean,
- 14:27you're you're back to the highest percentage renew if you have those touch points, which
- 14:33you're describing.
- 14:35And if you don't treat your clients today wanna be treated with some, you know, like an
- 14:41extended business family.
- 14:43Mhmm.
- 14:43They don't wanna be extended like their computer numbers.
- 14:47And even at Amazon or whatever, we're loyal because when you get to customer service,
- 14:53they're really outstanding, and they want to make it right for the customer.
- 14:57And because of that, you feel connected.
- 15:01And that connection to crime to overnight when it comes tomorrow every time you feel a sense
- 15:09of they made a promise as their brand, and they're actually delivering a little better
- 15:15than their promise.
- 15:17And when we get that, we're loyal.
- 15:19Mhmm.
- 15:20But if we
- 15:21that consistency and that that reassurance that if anything goes wrong, I'm gonna say, what can
- 15:26I do differently the next time around?
- 15:29Well, if you and especially if if they tell you or whatever, you make it right.
- 15:35No matter what.
- 15:36Right.
- 15:37And you may have some clients that are unfair.
- 15:41So what?
- 15:41That's a cost of business.
- 15:43Make it right even to them.
- 15:44Because their goodwill today, they can get upset with you when you're right.
- 15:51Mhmm.
- 15:51So there's a cost to be in right And when you're in business, you have to make cost,
- 15:59assessments.
- 15:59Like, to be authentic to my business, I would be right personally, but this would cause them
- 16:06to go on ripoff.com and post something.
- 16:10Or post something negative in social across the boards, write a me to complaint.
- 16:17Even if it's wrong or vicious, How do you come out?
- 16:20How do you even come out today?
- 16:23And I'm saying, so you can't afford, today's open architecture.
- 16:29And instant feedback.
- 16:31You have to make your customers special
- 16:37Mhmm.
- 16:37If you're in business, I mean, in professional and practice or you're entrepreneur, you have
- 16:41to think that way.
- 16:43And you have to be authentic to your business separate to yourself.
- 16:47Your business should express yourself and your values, but sometimes you have to make a
- 16:51business decision.
- 16:52Oh, this could cause a lawsuit.
- 16:55It would be unfair.
- 16:56I'd be right, but it cost me a 120,000.
- 16:59I should pay the person back this money.
- 17:02And I could pay him back over 12 months or 6 months.
- 17:05And it's a lot cheaper than going to court and trying to be right.
- 17:10And all the bad press that goes with it.
- 17:12You have to make value decisions.
- 17:13So being authentic is complicated.
- 17:17And it has to be an integrity.
- 17:19Integrity is the number one glue of being authentic.
- 17:22You can't step out of integrity.
- 17:25But you have to have authentic with your business and authentic with your values and
- 17:29yourself, and they both have to be DNA together.
- 17:32So how do you do that?
- 17:33And I'm saying, I think every 2 years, we live in a super change market.
- 17:39Things are changing faster.
- 17:40We ever thought Most of us don't wanna keep up anymore.
- 17:43We don't want the new app.
- 17:44We don't wanna learn the new features on Instagram and Snapchat.
- 17:48What we we don't wanna change a menu.
- 17:50We wanna keep it the way it used to be.
- 17:53They don't know that, and they change it.
- 17:55I can't wait for Lincoln then to come out with a whole new mic soft interface will all be
- 17:59upset.
- 18:00And I'm saying, but the issue gets to be that we have to remain current.
- 18:06Currency is the new, you can't fail to download this.
- 18:10Mhmm.
- 18:11This is the most important download.
- 18:13For tools and tactics.
- 18:15You can't put it off.
- 18:16It's not second priority.
- 18:18That downloads most important.
- 18:20Your authentic option, this conference that gives you tools and tactics in your integrity
- 18:27and your dealings out in the market.
- 18:30It's gonna change everything.
- 18:31You're not gonna be the same.
- 18:32So forgetting the contacts are gonna be made to make you money, and you're gonna have a very
- 18:37good experience that makes you a profit.
- 18:40You're gonna be in an environment that is gonna bring you current on the new tools and tactics
- 18:45for super change in a digital age, like digital manners.
- 18:52I'll give you one area that she'll talk about.
- 18:56Everything here is for praise.
- 19:01Prays.
- 19:03Emails for praise.
- 19:04Digitals for praise.
- 19:05Social is for praise.
- 19:08Never criticize another unless you're talking to him on the phone or in person.
- 19:14They can't see your body language.
- 19:17They can't see your tone of voice.
- 19:19They can't see thousands of cue language in my face.
- 19:23That you know as chairman and founder of Cospace going in decade number 4.
- 19:28If I'm sincere or not, If I mean what I say, there it's way beyond what you hear.
- 19:36It's so many other registers going on.
- 19:39When you're in social and they can't see you and they don't have your tone of voice.
- 19:44Everything's for praise.
- 19:46Because they will divide.
- 19:48They will separate.
- 19:50They will come and misunderstand.
- 19:52They will misunderstand your being authentic.
- 19:56And so learning how to be authentic with social, how to be authentic in digital space,
- 20:02learning how to elevate authenticity in super change market.
- 20:07So you're current now with those tools.
- 20:09I don't know what the I call it priceless, and I'll tell you the side benefit you're not
- 20:13coming for anything but your future, but you will find that we all live at home.
- 20:20And so it's gonna affect your life partners, your parenting, your friendships.
- 20:27It's gonna affect your core.
- 20:30Because once you get the highest authentic integrity, everybody around you shifts how they
- 20:38see you.
- 20:40And so we're all failing to see how others see us.
- 20:44I know as a leader of this, I work with people like yourself constantly.
- 20:48On my own integrity.
- 20:49I think I'm a man of integrity, but I have the man that wrote the book.
- 20:53He's a clinical psychologist, the new IQ.
- 20:56Integrity, Doctor David Gruder.
- 20:58He's worked with me 5 years working on yourself when you're older.
- 21:04It's a bitch.
- 21:06It's hard work.
- 21:06You guys don't give us, you know, you're the double lines.
- 21:10You won't let us hit the curb as we pick up speed.
- 21:12But you're ruthless at keeping us in the double lines.
- 21:16And you advance us, and every one of us should be working with you guys a little bit more for
- 21:23currency, our best selves, and to learn how others see us, which I think we need help on.
- 21:30So we can make adjustments because we all want others to see us in our own best light, and we
- 21:36are our self sabotage.
- 21:37We're our own.
- 21:38You gotta stop and take responsibility and say, hey.
- 21:41You know, it'd be better for me if I was better myself.
- 21:46And say, when do you my dad used to say is one of the famous, people that started the human
- 21:51potential industry.
- 21:53B, when is the the best time?
- 21:55To improve the human potential of another human life journey.
- 22:00And I said, I don't know that.
- 22:02And he said, son, It's the first instant, the concept flashed across your mind at all.
- 22:10Everything else is too late.
- 22:13Yesterday is already too late
- 22:15to improve a potential inside you.
- 22:15Your potential
- 22:22you haven't started.
- 22:23Your potential is so magnificent.
- 22:26You have been begun to cross it.
- 22:28What you can do with your potential is to switch on turned on your home space and your
- 22:33workspace in ways you've never known.
- 22:36But it all starts with authenticity.
- 22:37There's no other word.
- 22:38It starts a at the top of the alphabet for a reason.
- 22:42Get your authenticity and your integrity, right, with yourself, with everyone else, and
- 22:46your world will shift, and everybody will see you different.
- 22:49So I think that's another, you know, talking about it enough, but that's gonna be a big
- 22:53asset that you're bringing with these tools and tactics out to everyone.
- 22:58Who gets lucky enough to get into this conference.
- 23:01Right.
- 23:01Because it's it's going quickly.
- 23:03Now I was gonna ask you about your upbringing because I've read a bit about you before,
- 23:07meeting you.
- 23:08Tell me, that must have been a fascinating.
- 23:11I mean, you grew up with your father around these gurus, like, running around.
- 23:16Like, I think I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago, and I I grew up around people in oil.
- 23:20So and business.
- 23:22So that's kind of my context of my world, and, you know, I think I was meant to be an
- 23:27entrepreneur from when I was young.
- 23:29But what was your life growing up like kind of being exposed to these individuals as young as
- 23:34you were?
- 23:35I went to Jamaica, my first trip and worked at Boystown in the poorest part of Drench Town
- 23:41with my father teaching these young boys with the Catholic priest had started that.
- 23:49And I was in Trinidad when I was seven.
- 23:52Oh my goodness.
- 23:53I'm and I've been back there at the guest of the government speaking Oh, okay.
- 23:57Every year in recent times.
- 23:59So I have a lot of experience in Trinidad helping them during this Venezuelan oil prices
- 24:05to try and get their diversified economy going in the entrepreneur space.
- 24:11So your home space has been part of my life for decades.
- 24:15I've been down there.
- 24:16And, as it relates to, you know, my my life is like a movie.
- 24:22And when I've had people in my life, like Dave, that you're mentioning,
- 24:26Right.
- 24:26Philip said it was 10 years with Tony Robbins.
- 24:29So he felt he had seen it all.
- 24:31And then he heard stories, and he came to work with us.
- 24:35And he heard stories about my growing up with Napoleon Yale or Earl Night Gail or Zig
- 24:40Ziegler.
- 24:41When he was 22, it wasn't Zieg Ziegler then.
- 24:44And many others.
- 24:45And, the thought leader industry revolved around my father's work, and he really died,
- 24:51actually.
- 24:52And he wrote the courses that led the thought industry, and everyone was around his world.
- 24:59I mean, Jack Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Walt Disney, and corporate leaders, and so forth,
- 25:06Doctor Edward Demming, And, you know, as I got into my own world, I ended up, mentoring and
- 25:16training all the folks of today, you know, Wayne Dyer, Steve Covean.
- 25:22Covey is gone now, but you know, I've given coaching to just everybody.
- 25:27You can pretty well name Jack Canfield, Mark Hansen, stars of the secret, you're Bob
- 25:32Proctor.
- 25:33For 40 years, 50 years, and so many others.
- 25:37And, we're just, you know, dear friends in the work, at the top, but I've spent a lifetime in
- 25:44this industry, and my father actually started it in the forties.
- 25:48So I have, you know, if we start talking human potential and it's tributaries, I have probably
- 25:55too much to say.
- 25:57So I'll bring my remarks to a close.
- 26:00Well, I'm impressed.
- 26:01Like, I when I I watched, watched a bit on YouTube, and I was reading up with you.
- 26:06And I was like, what what a space to have grown up?
- 26:08Right?
- 26:08Like, you know, when we think about those neural pathways in our brain being developed,
- 26:12and the impression.
- 26:14I think of my son who is now sixteen and, you know, the the sponge that he he's becoming,
- 26:19like, You know, I recently spoke with Les Brown.
- 26:22I was, in New York speaking with on his stage with him.
- 26:26And so I was leaving for New York, and RJ says to me, mom, said, well, I said, well, you know,
- 26:31goodness, buddy.
- 26:31I said, I got this big, speaking event.
- 26:33I'm gonna be on stage with Les Brown, and he says to me, not so many words, Bernie, he goes,
- 26:38mom, I've been listening to Les Brown all my life.
- 26:40And I'm like, buddy, you're sixteen.
- 26:43He goes, no, I have.
- 26:46So here is the impression.
- 26:47Tell tell him to go on YouTube, CEO space, Les Brown, Super Bowl.
- 26:55And you'll see a film where Les tells you that Cospace is the Super Bowl in the world today.
- 27:02And then he describes our number 1 worldwide team program.
- 27:08So in July after your event on 16th, people wait a year to bring their teens from
- 27:15Bucharest.
- 27:16And they're multimillionaire business, folks in Romania.
- 27:21Our largest program of any year is always July.
- 27:25Because parents bring their children.
- 27:28Oh, wow.
- 27:28At a four year old who started his business, did a snap.
- 27:33And he's standing there with a picture, with and Dave has it.
- 27:38He can send it to you, holding a $1000 that he just raised in one snap.
- 27:44And I'm dealing with him as he's showing me the money.
- 27:47He's going, look on uncle Bernie.
- 27:49I've got more money than anyone a year.
- 27:52And I'm saying, Ryan, look how powerful you are.
- 27:56Imagine how you're gonna be at 5.
- 27:58Well, I would love to bring RJ out to that.
- 28:00I would love to bring RJ out to that because he, you know, he's he's a driven young man and
- 28:05he, you know, went literally, when I said that to him, he had been listening to Les Brown, and
- 28:10I would listen to him in the bathroom, and he would he listens to motivational speaking.
- 28:14And then When I went to New York, I was telling Les about that.
- 28:16We over dinner.
- 28:18And he said, I said, Okay, Les.
- 28:20You know, I and I was telling him this story.
- 28:22He goes, he starts to laugh.
- 28:23He goes, call him.
- 28:24And I'm like, I mean, like, call him now.
- 28:27He goes, yeah.
- 28:28Yeah.
- 28:28Call
- 28:28him.
- 28:28That's so that's how he is.
- 28:30He's so good.
- 28:30And then he calls So I call him, but he thinks it's me, and I'm thinking, please, please don't
- 28:36let anybody else pick up, and then already answers a phone, and he hears his voice.
- 28:41But I think he thinks it's like a recording or something, and then he hears Les' voice.
- 28:47And he goes, He could barely breathe.
- 28:49He said to me when he heard his voice.
- 28:51And I said, unless you made, I mean, me being on stage with you is one thing.
- 28:54I said, but you've made my you've made my Well, you'll see priceless.
- 28:58Yep.
- 28:59He chose to make that film, less you know, CEO space in front, Les Brown Super Bowl on teams
- 29:06on the team class.
- 29:08And he wanted to make that.
- 29:09So that is one of my most precious films because it's Les Brown who speaks when he's
- 29:16there at the team class.
- 29:18And loves the work with kids.
- 29:19I mean, he's like I am.
- 29:21He just he we both are Christians and, you know, it's our guy said, suffer to bring on to
- 29:26me, the children, and we mean it.
- 29:29And so we get we get a lot of pressure, a pleasure, out of mentoring those young folks.
- 29:34I do it all the time.
- 29:35I they'll say that they've got a team out in the car or something.
- 29:38I was like, go get them, bring them in.
- 29:40Yeah.
- 29:40Right.
- 29:40Right.
- 29:41It is
- 29:41like that.
- 29:41And then we start working.
- 29:43With them.
- 29:44And they just are these kids are amazing today.
- 29:46There, as you say, with the YouTube, you know, you you think you know, all their choices,
- 29:51violent video games, pornography, everything.
- 29:55And you ask them what they're watching, and they're studying dark matter and the expansion
- 29:59of the universe.
- 30:00And you sit there and go, I wasn't doing that.
- 30:02Well, I was watching leave at the beaver.
- 30:04I mean, these guys are
- 30:06Whatever.
- 30:07We I was watching those things either.
- 30:09So I I mean, just just the, you know, I feel privileged to be part of the personal
- 30:13development world.
- 30:14I picked this.
- 30:15I I said, you know, under our tamarind tree now to sound really tropical.
- 30:18My friends laugh when they listen to my podcast.
- 30:20They say, you are such a journey, you know, being there and, you know, you know, talking to
- 30:26people and recognizing the the the deep need for connection even, I went to an all go
- 30:31school, and that's where the birth of helping others came for me at age eleven.
- 30:36Right?
- 30:36And so connection in my community was also very always big.
- 30:41Let me let me let me tell you having been raised on the other side by my father in Hawaii
- 30:46where I'm Ojana and Loha, but I mean, yes, connection on an island is everything.
- 30:52And you have to be authentic.
- 30:53You have to be an integrity because everybody knows And what they don't know about triniti
- 30:59trinity in the Caribbean, there's a development group called the Karacom.
- 31:04And I've been part of that for 30 years.
- 31:06It's development of Caribbean Economics, but Trinity, has been the lead economy for many of
- 31:13the years.
- 31:14It has been the center of entrepreneurialism.
- 31:17It birthed entrepreneurialism, birth trade, built the trade for the other islands and was
- 31:22the center of trade jumping to Europe and was the center of trade to South America and the
- 31:28Americas.
- 31:29Yes.
- 31:29And it's today, trying to get its fair share of oil, but Venezuela has taken a lot of that down
- 31:37and off market.
- 31:38From them, so they're not getting their fair share.
- 31:42And they're still diversified in doing, okay.
- 31:44They have the highest literacy in all the islands.
- 31:48Their per capita literacy rate in their education is really something to marvel at, and
- 31:55they've kept that at the highest levels.
- 31:57And now the high paying jobs are coming out of the entrepreneurial ramp up and people aren't
- 32:03leaving island as much to get them.
- 32:05And I'm looking at a new renaissance in your nation, but you, especially, you know, you're a
- 32:11clinical psychologist, but you were raised with values that come from this Caribbean island
- 32:18where people have, their dreams and their achievement and the entrepreneurial capital of
- 32:25the whole region, but they also had balance.
- 32:28In other words, their life with their family.
- 32:32They're knowing what happens with their children, who they're staying overnight with,
- 32:36what's going on.
- 32:37It's just part of it.
- 32:38And I wanna explain jerk chicken and a pet but they, you know, the life of living around
- 32:45family and conversation and food and the beach and that you appreciate nature and, each other.
- 32:53And you take care of each other when a hurricane hits, you take care of each other.
- 32:58In all these instances and you have forever.
- 33:01So they're you're a nurturing, by your culture, contributor to get back and your highest level
- 33:10of contribution is what you had before you became credential which is you already knew
- 33:16about authenticity because it's DNA to Trinidad.
- 33:19If you're not authentic in Trinidad, I have for years gone to the backside of the island.
- 33:26Yes.
- 33:27And you know how poor it is over in some of those areas.
- 33:29And, you know, I
- 33:31I sit back there, eating a watermelon on the stair.
- 33:35Yeah.
- 33:35And these young folks come up and ask about the white guy.
- 33:40And then I start asking what they're doing and stuff, and they bring me their little
- 33:44inventions or their digital thing on their iPad.
- 33:47And as poor as they are.
- 33:49They had they have all sorts of things.
- 33:51And then I'm there until, like, 8 o'clock at night, and then they want me to come to their
- 33:56place for dinner.
- 33:58Because I've given so much.
- 33:59And I don't wanna take from them because they don't have that much.
- 34:03Yeah.
- 34:03And they won't let you.
- 34:04And, like, if I tried to pay for that dinner or give the they would be insulted.
- 34:08I mean, they couldn't, and they keep bringing you gifts, like food and things they could give
- 34:13you, you know, as one woman have worked for 6 months on a sweater, and she gave me the
- 34:18sweater, which she was making for her son, but she said, you gave my son something that's
- 34:23priceless.
- 34:24I can make him another sweater.
- 34:26But I can't give him what you put in his mind.
- 34:29You know, it's funny funny you'd say that my dad was an entrepreneur for all my life.
- 34:34And, I learned very, very early, and I always say this when, you know, when I speak, I
- 34:38learned to respect the guy that was, you know, putting out the garbage to the CEO.
- 34:44I may have been talking to the guy putting out the garbage and not knowing it or the CEO, but
- 34:48the respect that I gave to both people was something that I learned from my dad very, very
- 34:53early to treat everyone the same.
- 34:57It's a principle of co op operation.
- 35:00See, we built a shark tank, and let's end with this kind of notion.
- 35:04If our culture is, when we're dead and were gone and were beautiful orbs of light,
- 35:10breathing orbs of light, like the illumination that Moses saw.
- 35:15That all of the nation of Israel couldn't look at and fell to the ground.
- 35:20When they looked up after the guy talking to god, walking with god, was illuminated.
- 35:25His robes were illuminated.
- 35:27If we're that seed, if we're breathing orb of light, this beautiful orb of light, and we are
- 35:33on the other side.
- 35:35We have an absence of competition.
- 35:38There is no meanness and personally cruel tribal dishes, brutal, doggy dog, kill each
- 35:46other, screwing to others before they were screwed into whirl.
- 35:51It's all cooperative, collaborative, filled with love, unconditional authenticity,
- 35:57etcetera.
- 35:58If that's heaven, why do we make this place like the opposite of it?
- 36:05Why do we make it this terrible competitive competition is the idea of a soul that's
- 36:13insane.
- 36:14Mhmm.
- 36:14Memorial souls don't compete.
- 36:16We wanna all be together in the Dolphin tank, not the shark tank.
- 36:22Yes.
- 36:22The shark
- 36:23tank's a very unhappy place, and they eat their own young.
- 36:27The dolphin tank has no enemies unless you get left out of the herd.
- 36:32Because if you're in the pod of those dolphins, They repel a killer whale.
- 36:39They repel all sharks and enemies.
- 36:42The only enemy they have to really regard as dangerous is us.
- 36:48Mhmm.
- 36:49Mhmm.
- 36:49All the rest are okay.
- 36:51And I'm saying, we need to stop competing with the dolphins and become part of them, swim with
- 36:56them, enjoy them.
- 36:57And I was listening to a show about elephants, and overall of Africa a 100 years ago.
- 37:05That's not a very long time over the life of our planet.
- 37:09A 100 years ago, there were roaming 25,000,000 elephants.
- 37:16Today, they're 500,000 nationwide.
- 37:20We have slaughtered 24,000,000 elephants in a 100 years.
- 37:25Add up how many a year.
- 37:27For what?
- 37:28We've done it.
- 37:29The baby's children of a smart animal that can paint, do artwork, marries for life treasures,
- 37:36their children, smart sentiment beings older than we are in the planet.
- 37:40We've done it.
- 37:42So we could stand with a photograph standing on it for no reason at all, no for food, nothing.
- 37:51Or maybe we want their ivory to powder into making an aphrodisiac that's gonna give us an
- 37:57erection, which is kind of an insane thought.
- 38:00Yeah.
- 38:00I'm just saying, we can be authentic with the planet.
- 38:03We can be authentic with each other, but if mind pollution is the 1st pollution, How do we
- 38:09ever get rid of the pollution in the world?
- 38:11We have to get rid of the mind pollution.
- 38:13So first, let's be authentic with ourselves and then each other.
- 38:17Have integrity, build a cooperative community, which I think is the ballgame.
- 38:22So I really think at the end, the value you're giving that's priceless, is you're building a
- 38:27cooperative community that doesn't deal with competitive anything.
- 38:32And competition is thrown out as a lack of integrity.
- 38:36Between spirits, and we start now to nurture each other.
- 38:40And once you build nurturing communities, they're self replenishing And if you're
- 38:45depleted by the competition, you're drained.
- 38:49You don't even know why.
- 38:51You're so busy.
- 38:52You don't have balance.
- 38:54And you wanna get your balance back and you wanna be replenished.
- 38:59So your cell phone batteries go to full charge.
- 39:03Then get in the authenticity conference on June 22nd.
- 39:09Our CEO space people will be there.
- 39:10We're gonna have a lot of grads and members there.
