- 0:47Okay guys, so this video, I've got some tea because it's quite
- 0:51interesting to me. Rhymed.
- 0:55It's a terrible rhyme anyway, so there is a gentleman called Alex
- 0:59Reid. Now, he is a famous.
- 1:02He's like a British celebrity, but he's been made famous
- 1:04because he's an MMA fighter or a Miss mixed martial arts athlete,
- 1:09which means there's a lot of fighting and that's how we kind
- 1:10of grew to fame. But also Alex Reid was actually
- 1:16quite famous for marrying and then divorcing a British model
- 1:20and entrepreneur called Katie Price.
- 1:22Who his stage. With Jordan, if anybody doesn't
- 1:25know kg prizes, but the interesting thing about this
- 1:27story is that Katie Price. Had a son with another guy
- 1:31before she married this Alex. And that's an has an Autism
- 1:35Spectrum condition. So it's really interesting, how
- 1:38kind of like, you know, things spin round and round in there.
- 1:40Anyway that that young man is called Harvey and yeah, and I've
- 1:43done it, a lot of work with companies who support him which
- 1:45is really cool like born anxious clothing, you know, they do a
- 1:48lot with him and there's Anna Kennedy as well, who do stuff to
- 1:51as what have you, so there's a lot of cool stuff and she does
- 1:53have lots of porn. So I kind of threw her for
- 1:55making sure that he does have the best support.
- 1:56Anyway, moving on from his ex-wife.
- 1:58I wanted to talk about Alex Reid.
- 2:00Now, this is really interesting. So Alex being an MMA fighter,
- 2:04you know, he was he'd always had issues when you know, he was
- 2:08trying to socialize or whatever and you know, he's had issues
- 2:10with his whole life. He's always felt like different.
- 2:12He thought he was really different and really odd, right?
- 2:15And then he kind of basically was taking his kids to school
- 2:19and people would be like, hey, you know, you're on the Spectrum
- 2:22and he'd be like no like what's going on.
- 2:24And then the parents were like, okay?
- 2:25And then other people noticed that when they'd seen him in
- 2:28interviews and some interviews. He was like completely on it,
- 2:30you know what he's talking about and he could just like nail into
- 2:32view and then other interviews, you kind of being quite, I don't
- 2:35know how his interview style kind of really differed, and he
- 2:38just looked a bit of a mess. Like he wasn't doing very well
- 2:40in the interview. And they were like, what the
- 2:41heck's going on here since I'm like him, it seems like he's
- 2:43having some issues so they can convert him said to him like,
- 2:45Hey, you know, it looks like you are having issues in these areas
- 2:48and he was like, yeah, I don't know what those issues are how
- 2:52to solve them. So he basically Went over and
- 2:54said what, why don't I have an Autism stutzman?
- 2:57See what that's about. It's about see if it's autism or
- 2:59if it's a TD or whatever, you know, well, you're a vhd, you
- 3:01know, they don't really use the term add anymore.
- 3:04So he did an awesome assessment and found out he was on the
- 3:06autism spectrum. So this is really fascinating.
- 3:09He got a diagnosis of Asperger syndrome.
- 3:11It used to be called Asperger's Syndrome.
- 3:13That's called autism spectrum disorder and it got a diagnosis
- 3:15because of the traits and the his ability to do things in a
- 3:21certain manner, which showed his Rate in a way.
- 3:25And, and that was really, really interesting because it kind of
- 3:27highlight a few things here. Right?
- 3:29So Alex had a autism diagnosis that came on later on in life.
- 3:32So people have missed his cues all the way through life, you
- 3:35know, just thinking, oh, that's Alex.
- 3:36He's just a bit odd or whatever, but more frustrating for him, is
- 3:40that he got his whole life thinking, I'm really weird.
- 3:42I'm really odd. I'm like the odd one out here.
- 3:44And then the this, you know, this this fascinates me.
- 3:47I love this because like late diagnosis, like, what the heck,
- 3:50how do people go into the radar that much?
- 3:53And it's The reason I'm doing this, we don't want to highlight
- 3:55this about celebrities with autism is because, you know,
- 4:00there are so many people who are misdiagnosed autism younger, you
- 4:03know, when they're younger and then they get diagnosed properly
- 4:05officially later on in life, which is fine.
- 4:07But the interesting thing about it is that when they, you know,
- 4:11eventually get a diagnosis, the kind of feel quite alone like,
- 4:14oh, you know, house I missed off, you know, all these kids
- 4:15have all these cool to bring in the stuff, but I want to do this
- 4:17video because even people like, you know, Alex Reid is celebrity
- 4:20a mixed martial arts fighter, very famous, you know, with my
- 4:22virtual model Guy have those same issues.
- 4:25There is no difference. It doesn't kind of like skip
- 4:28celebrities, you know, it doesn't do that.
- 4:29Think what I want to do is show that some grounding and
- 4:32normalizing of the situations that people go like.
- 4:34Oh, yeah, I get it. You know, it happens.
- 4:36It's not, there's nothing wrong with having a late diagnosis.
- 4:38No wrong with having an Autism diagnosis.
- 4:40It just happens, right? So that is where this video came
- 4:43into play now, I think Alex Reid is really interesting.
- 4:45He's really empowering it. His wife is really his new wife
- 4:48and his ex-wife. She's really kind of, you know,
- 4:51taking it on board and and really Helping encourage him do
- 4:56the things in his life that can help him with support.
- 4:58But now, he knows who he is. He says, he feels a lot better
- 5:01about it rather than kind of bumping around in the dark
- 5:04thinking like, oh my God, you know, what?
- 5:05Am I doing? What am I going?
- 5:06Who am I now? He knows like well I'm me, but I
- 5:08also am on the autism spectrum and that's cool.
- 5:10That's empowering and he's using that as a way to communicate to
- 5:14audiences and also share his story and I think his the in
- 5:19most interesting thing I've seen on him is his Instagram page,
- 5:21which I'll try and leave a link for if I remember His Instagram
- 5:25page has a video section where he uploads videos with him, and
- 5:29his wife and his kids, and he talks about stuff and it's
- 5:31really interesting seeing his wife's perspective, because you
- 5:33don't always get to see the partners perspective or
- 5:35something like that. Especially not later on in life,
- 5:37like diagnosis and also special not later on live.
- 5:40Diagnosis of autism in celebrities.
- 5:42So this is really fascinating. I found it just amazing.
- 5:45And I really think that I think that to me, this is quite
- 5:49inspiring, and it's really good for people to kind of,
- 5:51especially young people to be like, whoa, you know, Blown Away
- 5:53by By this idea of celebrities with awesome do exist.
- 5:56And, you know, they're everywhere and they're they're
- 5:58encouraging people and someone to look up to in their Heroes
- 6:00and their role models and there's nothing wrong with that.
- 6:02And you know, it's Skies, a decent guy is really good guy
- 6:04and strong man, and you know all those things guys.
- 6:07I want to know what your info on this is.
- 6:10Do you know that about this? Do you have anything to add to
- 6:12any input about this whole except season autism and late
- 6:15diagnosis? I'd love to have this
- 6:16conversation with you and I read every single comment.
