- 0:42links are down below. Also because I upload 4 videos
- 0:44every single day on those. OK, so guys, Occupational
- 0:48therapy and autism. Very interesting.
- 0:49I didn't have occupational therapy until I was 32 years
- 0:53old. Oh my goodness.
- 0:55I went all my life for occupational therapy, right?
- 0:57And I didn't really know about it.
- 0:58I was doing a talk for an autism conference in Wales, and it was
- 1:02a really big autism talk, a big autism conference.
- 1:04And when I was there, I bumped into some occupational
- 1:07therapists who worked for the Welsh Autism Association and
- 1:10they were amazing. And they offered me a session.
- 1:12I said, OK, cool. So I went to their offices and
- 1:15it was all to do with proprioception and the sensory
- 1:17diet, because autism comes to sensory processing disorder,
- 1:20right? With February, everyone knows.
- 1:21Oh and FYI guys, if you want your hands on my free autism
- 1:24life, in fact the PDF book, the link is in description down
- 1:26below or you can just go to autismhacks.net and download
- 1:29your copyright now. So with this occupational
- 1:32therapy, I didn't know what to expect.
- 1:33Now I went in there and I was mind blown.
- 1:36What an occupational therapist does is they look at the section
- 1:39of your your condition that you need most help with and they
- 1:41will help you with strategies in that just at 11 place of that
- 1:44condition. So for me it was appropriate
- 1:46section like I could open a door but not open it wide enough to
- 1:49go through because I wasn't sharing my spatial awareness and
- 1:52this is all to do with deep muscle activation.
- 1:54I couldn't. I wasn't activating my muscles
- 1:55so they gave me the sensory diet to do, which I put into one of
- 1:59my courses, which is the Autism Acceleration Academy.
- 2:01I'll leave a link for that down below if you're interested in
- 2:04checking that out. And in that course I I go
- 2:06through the sensory diet and it's kind of one of the main
- 2:08focuses of it because it's kind of like deep muscle activation
- 2:12so that you can understand your spatial awareness and it's crazy
- 2:15how doing muscle activation exercises help increase your
- 2:19spatial awareness and lower the negative impact of sensory
- 2:23processing disorder. Now for me, occupational therapy
- 2:26was life changing and I know a lot of people have issues with,
- 2:28you know, go to see therapists and things like that.
- 2:30But I'd highly recommend speaking to an occupational
- 2:32therapist if you have insurance that covers it or you have
- 2:35access to it with your healthcare system in the country
- 2:37that you live in. I know here I had it with the
- 2:39NHS here, which is our National Health Service, But you know a
- 2:42lot of people don't have access to to occupational therapy.
- 2:45There is other therapies available.
- 2:46I think that counselling was the second best therapy I ever had.
- 2:49Now if you're interested in having a counselling therapy
- 2:51session, you can use the app down below called Better Help.
- 2:54I've used this. They link you up to somebody
- 2:56specific to you for like ADHD or autism within 24 to 48 hours and
- 3:00you just use your phone like you can like talk to them on your
- 3:04iPhone, you can message them, you can video chat them and it's
- 3:06amazing. So definitely check out Better
- 3:08help link up and down below. I really enjoy it.
- 3:10I think it's amazing. And yeah, if you think this
- 3:12video is helpful please share it and leave me a comment.
- 3:14Love you guys.
