- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Star
- 0:24Speaker 2: Wars Alliance. And I am just now realizing that our
- 0:28Speaker 2: background is poorly made because you can't see a goddamn thing.
- 0:34Speaker 2: That's my faults. Looks good for a thumbnail, doesn't look
- 0:38Speaker 2: all that great for a background, so I'll have to
- 0:41Speaker 2: change that while we are talking. So, uh yeah, anyway,
- 0:46Speaker 2: of course, I am always here joined by Katie. Katie,
- 0:51Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 0:55Speaker 1: That's all I got to say. Yeah, but we're here
- 1:00Speaker 1: to talk about Star Wars, y'all. Yeah, we want to
- 1:03Speaker 1: be a safe place on the internet, but we just
- 1:06Speaker 1: want to clarify if you're racist, sexist, out of a bitch,
- 1:11Speaker 1: get out of here, please and thank you bye.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I will. I will say this because there's tons
- 1:18Speaker 2: of people, you know, giving these like, oh, don't give
- 1:26Speaker 2: up type of posts, and that doesn't even work either. Geez,
- 1:33Speaker 2: I'm changing the background while we're talking here and this
- 1:35Speaker 2: doesn't even work. Oh well, we'll keep it like this.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Just put the other one up because it had a
- 1:39Speaker 1: title below.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It exactly exactly. So there's a lot of people, of course,
- 1:48Speaker 2: throwing a lot of Star Wars gifts and quotes out there.
- 1:52Speaker 2: I'm talking about never giving up when it comes to,
- 1:55Speaker 2: of course, what we are referencing referencing, which is the
- 1:59Speaker 2: presidential election. And I'm gonna be quite honest with you,
- 2:06Speaker 2: and people might see this as a very negative thing,
- 2:11Speaker 2: but I am somewhat feeling the same way I am
- 2:17Speaker 2: feeling about America, the same way I feel about lucasfilm.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And I think a lot of people are and I
- 2:28Speaker 2: think that it is okay for people to not want
- 2:36Speaker 2: to have this. Oh let's never give up, Let's bring
- 2:40Speaker 2: up hope and all of this other things because people
- 2:45Speaker 2: just aren't ready yet. I am in a sound mind.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I'm not gonna, you know, say these really silly things
- 2:54Speaker 2: and and and dangerous things to the point of like
- 2:56Speaker 2: people being fearful of my mental health and every anything else.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I have a good head on my shoulders, I have
- 3:03Speaker 2: a good support system, I have really good friends, and
- 3:07Speaker 2: uh yeah, So if anybody is feeling that it is
- 3:12Speaker 2: okay to feel that way, it is okay to not
- 3:17Speaker 2: be okay, is what I always like to say. And
- 3:22Speaker 2: with that, I do concur with Katie. If you are
- 3:27Speaker 2: a racist, Sorry Katie, this is the one time I'm
- 3:32Speaker 2: going to use this word cuntbag. Okay, thank you for
- 3:37Speaker 2: taking off your headphones. I yeah, I know, I know.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Then you can f right off and.
- 3:50Speaker 1: There's no place for hate here at.
- 3:53Speaker 2: All, none whatsoever. And also something that has really hurt
- 4:00Speaker 2: me the last twenty four hours is sing some true
- 4:06Speaker 2: colors to people that I thought I knew. So yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 2: let's just move on from that and move on to
- 4:19Speaker 2: possible good talk in tonight's episode. Of course, guys, some
- 4:29Speaker 2: highlights of what this episode is going to be about.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Of course, if you have clicked on this video and
- 4:35Speaker 2: or the podcast, you can tell by the title this
- 4:37Speaker 2: is Padawan's Pride review. We know that this audio original
- 4:42Speaker 2: has been Audible original has been out for quite some time,
- 4:47Speaker 2: but this is the only time in the schedule that
- 4:49Speaker 2: we could actually fit it in. So we are going
- 4:53Speaker 2: to be reviewing that. And due to our interview that
- 5:00Speaker 2: we're gonna have next week, we're going to have to
- 5:04Speaker 2: push the next Audible original that was actually found this week,
- 5:10Speaker 2: and we will talk about that. That is a highlight
- 5:12Speaker 2: that we are going to be talking about today as well.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And the other thing is that doesn't come out until
- 5:17Speaker 1: next Thursday.
- 5:18Speaker 2: So oh, that is true, so it will actually be
- 5:23Speaker 2: in line for the episode after that. But some other
- 5:27Speaker 2: things that you can look forward to hearing about in
- 5:30Speaker 2: this episode is we're going to be discussing Skeleton Crew
- 5:33Speaker 2: and its new trailer, as well as some confirmation news
- 5:41Speaker 2: stuff that we've seen from Encyclopedias. And that's an actually
- 5:46Speaker 2: interesting discussion that I want to bring up with Katie because,
- 5:49Speaker 2: of course on this podcast, Katie is of course our
- 5:54Speaker 2: canon queen. I love that. I'm gonna that's what I'm
- 5:59Speaker 2: gonna call you from now on, Katie Cannon queen. Uh.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Within the timeline of Star Wars. Uh so we are
- 6:07Speaker 2: going to of course, uh talk about that as well.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Uh so, you know we teased it, We're gonna talk
- 6:14Speaker 2: about it right now. Who actually found this? It says
- 6:18Speaker 2: thanks to b h X one, one, three, eight and
- 6:24Speaker 2: Adam Bomber, another Star Wars audible original has been discovered.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I like how these things are just like people are
- 6:35Speaker 2: just stumbling across these things. Yes, I and the reason. Oh,
- 6:43Speaker 2: we'll go ahead, go ahead. What are you gonna say?
- 6:45Speaker 1: It looks like Adam Bomber is the one who found
- 6:47Speaker 1: it originally. I'm trying to find his tweets. Okay, I
- 6:53Speaker 1: don't see his tweet anywhere, but maybe he did it
- 6:55Speaker 1: on like a podcast or something.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Oh maybe I will say this though. The reason why
- 7:03Speaker 2: I think this is so funny due to what I
- 7:07Speaker 2: do for my job is I collect metadata for publishers
- 7:16Speaker 2: for comics, and then I post them on our website,
- 7:21Speaker 2: and if retailers are just skimming the website, they can
- 7:26Speaker 2: just stumble upon some of the stuff that I put
- 7:28Speaker 2: on our website. So like, I think it's really fun
- 7:32Speaker 2: that these people are just like, oh, what's on Audible today,
- 7:36Speaker 2: and they're like, holy crap, this is a new thing.
- 7:38Speaker 2: I've never seen this before. It is Star Wars the
- 7:42Speaker 2: Hygh Republic, Seeds of Starlight. It is by George Mann,
- 7:47Speaker 2: and we'll release on November fourteenth. It is featuring on
- 7:52Speaker 2: the cover two prominent characters that we already know. I
- 7:58Speaker 2: don't recognize the center character.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Up, we'll talk, we'll talk. So his name is Cam Lindon.
- 8:06Speaker 1: He was announced or the artwork of him was published.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I was looking this up earlier and now Wikipedia doesn't
- 8:14Speaker 1: want to work. The artwork was published in like May
- 8:19Speaker 1: for him. Okay, okay, but nobody knew what project he
- 8:25Speaker 1: was going to be a part of.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Oh that's right. I remember that random character design that
- 8:31Speaker 2: showed up out of nowhere and people were like, Okay,
- 8:36Speaker 2: I remember that, I remember that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 1: So this so this character lost his vocal box in
- 8:44Speaker 1: an accident as a young kid. So the black line
- 8:49Speaker 1: that you see down his throat is actually a vocoder,
- 8:53Speaker 1: like what authoritians used to program their voice and like
- 8:59Speaker 1: trans late in live action. So he's got a vote interesting,
- 9:04Speaker 1: So it makes sense why he's an audible original character
- 9:09Speaker 1: because you want to be able to articulate that, and
- 9:11Speaker 1: if you just put his words on a page, it's
- 9:13Speaker 1: not really going to be quite the same.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you can always describe it, and I think that
- 9:20Speaker 2: with the vote coders, we've seen a lot of that
- 9:24Speaker 2: described very well. But I think this is just something
- 9:28Speaker 2: that's very fun, you know. I think the High Republic
- 9:33Speaker 2: out of and and this is just me coming into, like,
- 9:37Speaker 2: you know, neck deep into the Star Wars fandom that
- 9:42Speaker 2: Katie has brought me into. With the audible books that
- 9:48Speaker 2: I have been listening to, in the comics and everything else,
- 9:51Speaker 2: it really feels like High Republic has taken advantage of
- 9:54Speaker 2: every piece of h what's the phrasing that I'm looking
- 10:01Speaker 2: for accessibility matrix, accessibility entertainment outlet possible with now of
- 10:12Speaker 2: course unfortunately canceled, but you still have it on Disney
- 10:17Speaker 2: Plus for now Acolytes, the books, the Audibles, the comics
- 10:22Speaker 2: and stuff like that. So I find that very very fun.
- 10:26Speaker 2: So having this here, just adding this new thing, and
- 10:31Speaker 2: people can you know, possibly call this a gimmick, but
- 10:34Speaker 2: having there be a in story reason for you know,
- 10:41Speaker 2: the the initiative of a high republic being like, hey,
- 10:44Speaker 2: this needs to be an audible original because of this
- 10:47Speaker 2: one character and how he is implemented into the universe.
- 10:51Speaker 2: I like that a whole lot. I think that it's
- 10:53Speaker 2: very fun.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, And I do, however, have an issue with it
- 10:59Speaker 1: being an audible original, that this means that you can't
- 11:03Speaker 1: just purchase this and be done with it, no, like
- 11:06Speaker 1: you're kind of stuck with it as because I tried
- 11:10Speaker 1: sharing this with my sister and she does use my
- 11:14Speaker 1: mom's access, but she also has her own Audible account
- 11:17Speaker 1: where she like brings it on and off, and she
- 11:19Speaker 1: was like, man, I can't get this because my audible
- 11:21Speaker 1: account isn't active. So she had to signed into my
- 11:23Speaker 1: moms and stuff, but like so it has to be
- 11:28Speaker 1: like I can't even download this and like save it
- 11:31Speaker 1: to my computer, so it's got to be done from
- 11:35Speaker 1: audible unfortunately, So this means there's not a lot of
- 11:38Speaker 1: accessibility if you don't want to use Amazon products or anything,
- 11:44Speaker 1: So you're limiting it behind a specific bald, which kind
- 11:50Speaker 1: of sucks. And that was something that I wanted to
- 11:52Speaker 1: bring up with Padawan's Pride as well, because it is
- 11:55Speaker 1: an audible original, So like, let's go ahead and get
- 11:57Speaker 1: that out of the way here, Like both books, same pology. Seed,
- 12:00Speaker 1: Like I do hope that they bring these scripts or
- 12:05Speaker 1: like a novelization aspect, yeah, so that people can just
- 12:11Speaker 1: purchase it and be done with it and not have
- 12:14Speaker 1: to rely on the subscription model in order to enjoy
- 12:20Speaker 1: this piece of media. But the Seeds of Starlight audible
- 12:26Speaker 1: original is out next Thursday, so November fourteenth, So we
- 12:31Speaker 1: will not be talking about it next week, but the
- 12:33Speaker 1: week after. All right, y'all, we're gonna hit our first
- 12:36Speaker 1: ad break and we will be right back in three
- 12:39Speaker 1: two one.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Correct me if I'm wrong. Every Star Wars book that
- 12:48Speaker 2: was an audible first has gotten a physical release.
- 12:54Speaker 1: So the the what are the words? The audio dramas
- 13:01Speaker 1: are not audible originals, they're just audio traumas, So these
- 13:06Speaker 1: are audible originals, so there's the difference for you. They
- 13:10Speaker 1: also have different publishers, so this is Lucasfilm Disney Lucasfilm
- 13:14Speaker 1: Media and the audio dramas are random house worlds. So technicalities,
- 13:20Speaker 1: we love them, you gotta hate.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Them, like yeah, which does make me think that there
- 13:26Speaker 2: is a big possibility that this is not going to.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I don't think it will. Yeah, I don't think it will.
- 13:36Speaker 1: That's a little bit of its.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Yeah, now now see. I will say this though. The
- 13:43Speaker 2: only thing that I think might happen, which again we
- 13:49Speaker 2: are talking about you know, the media, uh and physical
- 13:55Speaker 2: media in the day and age of everything being digital.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Sandman Audible Original came out with an audio physical release.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I believe at least the first the first one did.
- 14:14Speaker 2: I don't know if the second or third one did,
- 14:17Speaker 2: but I believe the first one has a physical CD release.
- 14:22Speaker 2: So there's some speck of hope there. Maybe maybe like
- 14:30Speaker 2: a like a conglomeration, yeah, like a like a.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Star Wars stories. I could see that, But with this
- 14:42Speaker 1: only because Sampan's was what thirteen fourteen hours?
- 14:46Speaker 2: I think, yeah it was. I think so.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Oh, Padawan's Pride is a little under four hours, and
- 14:54Speaker 1: then Seeds of Starlight is four and a half hours.
- 14:57Speaker 1: So I don't think they would get a physical audio
- 15:00Speaker 1: release all on its own.
- 15:03Speaker 2: That just does I could see it being I could
- 15:05Speaker 2: see it being like an anthology of sorts, if that's
- 15:10Speaker 2: what I was looking.
- 15:13Speaker 1: So, yeah, it looks like there is an MP three
- 15:17Speaker 1: CV as of September twenty third, twenty twenty for Sandman
- 15:23Speaker 1: volume one. I do not see where there is volume
- 15:28Speaker 1: two or three, so but yeah, completely plausible. Oh now,
- 15:35Speaker 1: furiodus the Salman Act two, Act three.
- 15:39Speaker 2: So well there you go. All right. So next up
- 15:45Speaker 2: would be do you want to leave the trailer for last?
- 15:50Speaker 1: Or let's leave the trailer for last? So let's go
- 15:52Speaker 1: ahead and talk about the Star Wars encyclopedia.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yes, so this is a discussion that I'm wanting to
- 16:01Speaker 2: have with you because I saw a post with this.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Of course this I saw this first from when you
- 16:11Speaker 2: posted it the Star Wars holocron saying the inquisitor who
- 16:14Speaker 2: fought asca entails of the Jedi has been given an
- 16:17Speaker 2: official name. In the new Star Wars Encyclopedia book releasing
- 16:21Speaker 2: later this month. The character voiced by Clancy Brown didn't
- 16:26Speaker 2: even remember him actually saying any actual words, is named
- 16:32Speaker 2: first Brother. Now, Katie, as somebody who has read the
- 16:37Speaker 2: Ahsoka book, this is something that I really want to
- 16:40Speaker 2: talk to you about. Is first brother mentioned at all
- 16:47Speaker 2: in this novel? Like at all?
- 16:52Speaker 1: Like so it's been several years since I've read the books.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I just want to Okay, So I.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Am going off of the Wookie Paudia summary. Okay, yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 1: so we have five mentions of the word first.
- 17:10Speaker 2: In this article.
- 17:12Speaker 1: We love a control s okay, makes it super simple.
- 17:16Speaker 1: That's not it, that's not it, that is not it,
- 17:20Speaker 1: that is not it, and that is not it.
- 17:24Speaker 2: So no, there you go.
- 17:25Speaker 1: First not mentioned. But I did read it, Okay, So
- 17:29Speaker 1: I used control because I wanted to be funny. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: read this whole thing before we started, because I couldn't
- 17:35Speaker 1: remember if it was first Brother or if it was
- 17:37Speaker 1: somebody else. The inquisitor named in the book is six brother.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Well, just like Taylor, Taylor. Yeah, this is exactly what
- 17:53Speaker 2: Travis says. Books are cannon until they're not. And like
- 18:00Speaker 2: how like again, Uh, Ahsoka was by Kristen Correct? Is
- 18:09Speaker 2: it Christian who wrote Ahsoka?
- 18:11Speaker 1: Who? It was? K Johnston john Trilogy?
- 18:17Speaker 2: And yeah, uh, I don't know how I feel about this.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Uh was it really that hard to just go, hey,
- 18:30Speaker 1: let's just use the book identification because he's not named
- 18:35Speaker 1: in the episode, and he's not named in the credits
- 18:39Speaker 1: of the episode. So, like, is it really that difficult?
- 18:46Speaker 2: I am so like it. It Star Wars just knows
- 18:51Speaker 2: how to self implode on itself all the time. I'm
- 18:54Speaker 2: so confused as of the decisions they make. But in
- 19:00Speaker 2: all honesty, this is probably gonna trigger some people. Is
- 19:05Speaker 2: the name that important? You know? In this instance? Now, again,
- 19:11Speaker 2: I haven't read the Ahsoka book, so I don't know
- 19:15Speaker 2: how much weight the sixth Brother has on the book itself.
- 19:23Speaker 2: But in Tales of the Jedi, it's not even a fight.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Guys like Ahsoka is so op in this fight. She
- 19:36Speaker 2: strikes him down in one blow, And of course I
- 19:41Speaker 2: think it's more so to send a message of like, oh,
- 19:45Speaker 2: she stills, she still has it, she still has the
- 19:48Speaker 2: ability to protect herself and all of these other things
- 19:52Speaker 2: within the episode, that's the story. And then of course
- 19:55Speaker 2: when you look back at even like Rebels in her
- 19:58Speaker 2: appearance through there and of course moving on towards the
- 20:02Speaker 2: show Ahsoka, it's to show like it was a small
- 20:08Speaker 2: milestone she had to go past to really say, hey,
- 20:11Speaker 2: I'm kind of stuck with having this identity of a
- 20:18Speaker 2: quote unquote Jedi or a Protector or whatever. So like
- 20:23Speaker 2: it's a it's a small thing for me personally, but
- 20:28Speaker 2: I just like I am a little annoyed even as
- 20:32Speaker 2: somebody who hasn't read the Ahsoka book that Lucasfilm and
- 20:38Speaker 2: Star Wars would would do this. That would just be like, hey,
- 20:41Speaker 2: we're gonna counteract this one book the same the same way,
- 20:48Speaker 2: but twice. Now.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Yeah, because and you think about it, Okay.
- 20:55Speaker 2: So.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I think it's this guy. Yeah, it's the Star Wars Encyclopaedia,
- 21:02Speaker 1: the Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy. And it's
- 21:07Speaker 1: by uh, It's got seven authors attached, Kelly Knox, Dan Zier,
- 21:14Speaker 1: Brandon Waynerdy, Amy Ratcliffe, Amy Richelle, Megan Krause, and Dan Brooks.
- 21:21Speaker 1: And I know every single one of these people except
- 21:24Speaker 1: Brandon on the Twitter verse and everything. I've never met
- 21:28Speaker 1: any of these people in person. I know each and
- 21:30Speaker 1: every one of them has read that Ahsoka book. So
- 21:35Speaker 1: this was a direct handoff from lucasfilm that says, hey,
- 21:40Speaker 1: this is first brother, Like, nice to meet you, and
- 21:46Speaker 1: I just want to point out something from the Ahsoka
- 21:49Speaker 1: novel as well. So sixth Brother is referenced in Star
- 21:55Speaker 1: Wars The Dark Side Pocket Expert and is mentioned there,
- 21:59Speaker 1: and the book lists Tales of the Jedi in appearances
- 22:03Speaker 1: for other characters. The Pocket Expert stated the Sixth Brother
- 22:08Speaker 1: had only appeared in comics and novels up to that point,
- 22:12Speaker 1: leaving out any listing for Tales of the Jedi. The
- 22:15Speaker 1: twenty twenty three Inquisitor Rise of the Red Blade also
- 22:20Speaker 1: features six Brother, but he is described to appear as
- 22:23Speaker 1: he does in Ahsoka, not as the Tales of the
- 22:26Speaker 1: Jedi Inquisitor. So are they just instead kind of going okay,
- 22:34Speaker 1: Tales of the Jedi happens within the timeline of the
- 22:38Speaker 1: Ahsoka book, but it's not the incident in question in
- 22:43Speaker 1: the Ahsoka book. Is this what's happening?
- 22:49Speaker 2: Oh? That would be confusing as hell.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It's because they're similar. There are similar incidents point blank.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Mm hmm. But I would feel like there should be well, again,
- 23:05Speaker 2: you you end up with the same problem that we
- 23:08Speaker 2: are gonna talk about in Patawan's Pride that I'm gonna
- 23:12Speaker 2: mention when it comes to Star Wars, it's very unfortunate
- 23:19Speaker 2: that all of these great ideas, sometimes not so great ideas,
- 23:25Speaker 2: come out after the fact and we have to kind
- 23:29Speaker 2: of just slide them into the pieces of the timeline,
- 23:34Speaker 2: and so sometimes they make sense and sometimes they don't.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And this is one of those instances that if it
- 23:41Speaker 2: is trying to insinuate, oh, she fought first brother and
- 23:48Speaker 2: sixth brother, there needs to be a distinction of like
- 23:55Speaker 2: an official thing that says, yes, she fought both first
- 23:58Speaker 2: brother and six brother, rather than just saying, hey, she
- 24:03Speaker 2: fought six brother in this book, but fought first brother
- 24:07Speaker 2: in this show, and they just so happened to be
- 24:11Speaker 2: in the same timeline, and we're not going to verify
- 24:15Speaker 2: whether it's the exact same fight or not. Like that's
- 24:17Speaker 2: just really confusing.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yeah, And I ultimately I think it's supposed to be
- 24:22Speaker 1: the same fight because Dave Filoni is known for overwriting stuff,
- 24:27Speaker 1: and at this point, especially with the issues, because like
- 24:34Speaker 1: there's this whole thing on continuity for the Ahsoka novel
- 24:38Speaker 1: on the Wikipedia article. I'm not going to read every
- 24:40Speaker 1: line verbatim, but like Dave Filoni, going back to his
- 24:48Speaker 1: quote on the episode, he said, it's based on the
- 24:50Speaker 1: same outline I gave publishing fourth novel. It was always
- 24:53Speaker 1: the same story, but could you head candidate to be different.
- 24:58Speaker 1: The other thing too, that bring up is that the
- 25:01Speaker 1: episode has Bail organa encountering Ahsoka at padme Amidala's funeral,
- 25:07Speaker 1: which occurs days after the rise of the Empire. In
- 25:11Speaker 1: the novel, Ahsoka and Bail do not even know that
- 25:14Speaker 1: the other is still alive until shortly before their first
- 25:17Speaker 1: in person meeting in the book, which is over a
- 25:20Speaker 1: year after the Empire's formation. So there's other contradictions, for sure.
- 25:27Speaker 1: I just don't know why you say, Okay, here's the outline,
- 25:31Speaker 1: Like I want ahsoka story to continue, and this needs
- 25:34Speaker 1: to be the bridge to get her to rebels, because
- 25:37Speaker 1: that's what this book was marketed as. Is Okay, what
- 25:40Speaker 1: has Ahsoka been up to for fifteen years? Here's what
- 25:44Speaker 1: she was doing. But then now you're like, oh, okay,
- 25:48Speaker 1: it's been ten years since this novel was published, Like,
- 25:51Speaker 1: let's overwrite it. And it's not been ten years since
- 25:54Speaker 1: the novel was published to Tales of the Jedi. This
- 25:57Speaker 1: book came out in twenty sixteen October twenty sixteen, so
- 26:01Speaker 1: it had been what like six years, But still the
- 26:07Speaker 1: point stands, like, oh, enough people have forgotten about this
- 26:11Speaker 1: book where I used it as a marketing endeavor for
- 26:13Speaker 1: my new TV show, So let's just forget about it
- 26:16Speaker 1: and tossed out the window to make my new TV show.
- 26:23Speaker 2: It's a weird choice, you know, in it comes down
- 26:29Speaker 2: to the idea of like, how many stories are you
- 26:37Speaker 2: willing to stomp all over to now? I'm I'm not
- 26:46Speaker 2: gonna say that Tales of the Jedi is bad because
- 26:49Speaker 2: it's good. I love it. I love the stories that
- 26:51Speaker 2: they told with Kraik go on Jin, I love the
- 26:53Speaker 2: like the cinematography of this fight that we're talking about
- 26:57Speaker 2: in particular, it's very fun. But like you have this
- 27:04Speaker 2: stamp of approval of all books and Star Wars are cannon.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Every choice that these creators make within these novels are important.
- 27:15Speaker 2: And then you're like, well it's important until I say
- 27:19Speaker 2: it is m that feels really crappy, you know, like
- 27:26Speaker 2: I I don't like, of course everybody's going to say,
- 27:31Speaker 2: if I have the chance to write a Star Wars book,
- 27:33Speaker 2: if I am, if I am given that chance to
- 27:35Speaker 2: write a Star Wars book, they're gonna take it, yes,
- 27:38Speaker 2: but it just hurts that much more if Dave Filoni
- 27:42Speaker 2: and Star Wars and Lucasville decide, Hey, you know that
- 27:45Speaker 2: thing that you wrote, We're just gonna act like it
- 27:48Speaker 2: doesn't exist anymore. That sucks.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean it's the same, the same bird.
- 27:59Speaker 1: We've talked a bazillion times. So like, I don't want
- 28:02Speaker 1: to beat a dead horse, but like it really does suck,
- 28:07Speaker 1: And especially with the encyclopedia is like meant for book people,
- 28:13Speaker 1: Like how many people that you know just watch Star
- 28:16Speaker 1: Wars or like oh yeah, I'm gonna go buy the
- 28:18Speaker 1: Star Wars encyclopedia. Like it's not the same fan base.
- 28:23Speaker 1: So this was a direct Hey, here's lucasop because again
- 28:29Speaker 1: the guy wasn't named in the episode, so lucasme point
- 28:32Speaker 1: Blake said, Okay, you're gonna include him. Probably not gonna
- 28:36Speaker 1: include him, but like, hey, we made Tales of the Jedi,
- 28:40Speaker 1: here's who he was. So we're gonna go into our
- 28:43Speaker 1: second ad break and we'll be right back.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Let's move on to next bit of news. And I
- 28:53Speaker 2: guess the only thing we do have is the trailer right.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Skeleton Crew trade number two. This show is coming out
- 29:03Speaker 1: in one month. I am so exciting and I don't
- 29:07Speaker 1: care what all you people say about the fact that
- 29:10Speaker 1: this music is not instrumental and it is not orchestral.
- 29:15Speaker 2: This music rocked, no, don't get me wrong. So of course, guys,
- 29:20Speaker 2: if you go back into the Star Wars Alliance feed,
- 29:23Speaker 2: we interviewed Tom and I gave him the question, I said,
- 29:29Speaker 2: if you could put any modern music into Star Wars one,
- 29:37Speaker 2: where would it go? In two? What song would it be?
- 29:40Speaker 2: And then he gave me a challenge that I actually
- 29:44Speaker 2: never even finished. So thanks for reminding me, you know, Tom,
- 29:50Speaker 2: But we also saw I believe it was the first
- 29:56Speaker 2: episode of Ahsoka when Sabine was on the speeder driving
- 30:04Speaker 2: down that galactic highway. People were putting freaking ACDC to
- 30:12Speaker 2: that gift and it's it looked great. So I mentioned
- 30:18Speaker 2: when this came out, I was I think I was
- 30:21Speaker 2: the first one to mention it in our g ua chat.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I said, is this the first time Star Wars has
- 30:31Speaker 2: or Disney Star Wars has added modern music to promote
- 30:42Speaker 2: a Star Wars project. You had stated that you think
- 30:47Speaker 2: there was quite possibly an Episode three Revenge of the
- 30:53Speaker 2: Sith trailer with modern music. I don't remember that, and
- 30:58Speaker 2: that's why I asked the question to begin with, because
- 31:02Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say it was jarring. It was. It
- 31:05Speaker 2: felt surprisingly organic because of the subject matter and how
- 31:14Speaker 2: they are presenting this show, like in all honesty, like
- 31:20Speaker 2: this looks like just a sci fi film within the
- 31:25Speaker 2: universe of Star Wars. So I think the music choice
- 31:30Speaker 2: was fine. I don't know if I necessarily saw anybody
- 31:35Speaker 2: like really complaining about it. Did you see a whole
- 31:37Speaker 2: lot of discourse on Twitter about it?
- 31:41Speaker 1: Not really other than archieua chat because everybody hates this,
- 31:46Speaker 1: but like it's also because you actually hear lyrics at
- 31:51Speaker 1: the end of the trailer and they actually transposed Star Wars.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Splash Page tweeted the song because I am not a
- 31:58Speaker 1: music person, point blank. So this is apparently major Tom
- 32:03Speaker 1: coming Home by Peter Shilling.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Yeah. So one thing that I learned in
- 32:12Speaker 2: UH when I was taking audio engineering classes is how
- 32:17Speaker 2: you can do this with the music videos. It's one
- 32:22Speaker 2: of my favorite things to like see in trailers is
- 32:27Speaker 2: how well you put the music to the actual visual
- 32:31Speaker 2: aid of video and trailers and all of that. Like
- 32:36Speaker 2: people our age, Katie, I don't know if you are
- 32:40Speaker 2: necessarily a part of this scene or not, but I
- 32:43Speaker 2: know there's there's gonna be people out there that I
- 32:46Speaker 2: know exactly the reference I'm about to say and be like, yes,
- 32:49Speaker 2: that was our childhood. There was a time where people
- 32:55Speaker 2: loved to put like Lincoln Park and Disturbed and all
- 33:03Speaker 2: of these rock music the genre of rock music, and
- 33:10Speaker 2: make animated music videos for like Dragon ball Z, Full Metal, Alchemists,
- 33:16Speaker 2: like all sorts of stuff, and it's a very popular
- 33:21Speaker 2: thing to do, or at least it was. And so
- 33:24Speaker 2: when I see it done with this again, like you said,
- 33:28Speaker 2: the last I think it's like maybe fifteen seconds of
- 33:33Speaker 2: the trailer. It's not the whole trailer. The whole trailer
- 33:36Speaker 2: is about two minutes long. The last fifteen seconds is
- 33:40Speaker 2: really what you see and hear the actual song, because
- 33:45Speaker 2: the beginning of the trailer is all the instrumental intro
- 33:49Speaker 2: of the song and then you hear the lyrics and
- 33:53Speaker 2: I think it works well. I think it's very fun. Again,
- 33:56Speaker 2: it gives that vibe of like, hey, it's gonna be
- 33:59Speaker 2: kind of crazy, it is gonna be fun. Let's see
- 34:02Speaker 2: how this goes. And I dug it, I I dug
- 34:05Speaker 2: all the new footage that we saw in this in
- 34:08Speaker 2: this trailer, and dare I say it? I think I
- 34:12Speaker 2: might actually be getting excited about the show.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Well, and like, the like punky feel of the music
- 34:22Speaker 1: is totally something that we've read about in Star Wars books,
- 34:26Speaker 1: where there's like a punky vibe, like not just like
- 34:30Speaker 1: strings and trumpets and all this stuff. Like I'm down
- 34:35Speaker 1: for it. I'm really down for it. And I don't
- 34:37Speaker 1: know if this music will be used at any point
- 34:41Speaker 1: in the show, honestly, but like, what's wrong? I mean
- 34:46Speaker 1: there was no words to it, Like it wasn't modern
- 34:49Speaker 1: R and B. But like every genre of music is
- 34:53Speaker 1: so sold to different shows.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Okay, actually, you know you're a really big fan of
- 34:57Speaker 2: this show, So I'm gonna go ahead and use this
- 35:00Speaker 2: as a reference. How would you feel if Star Wars
- 35:07Speaker 2: started to treat modern music within Star Wars the same
- 35:13Speaker 2: way that Bridgerton does with its modern music.
- 35:18Speaker 1: And we're about to jump into our third ad, y'all,
- 35:22Speaker 1: we promise we'll be right back. We promise absolutely absolutely
- 35:31Speaker 1: nothing wrong with that.
- 35:33Speaker 2: I So, so here's it has to be situational, I
- 35:37Speaker 2: think in my way of thinking, because I don't want
- 35:42Speaker 2: I don't think I would want them to go too
- 35:45Speaker 2: crazy with it. But like if we go to a
- 35:49Speaker 2: canteena and they're playing music, but like, if I'm really
- 35:55Speaker 2: listening to it, I'm starting to hear like who's who's
- 36:01Speaker 2: like freaking imagine dragons, I'd be like, yeah, Like first
- 36:07Speaker 2: I'd be like, what the hell? And then I would
- 36:09Speaker 2: listen to like as long as it is played because again,
- 36:13Speaker 2: in Bridgerton, it's all instrumental. They put their own pizazz
- 36:18Speaker 2: into it, so that way it sounds like it comes
- 36:22Speaker 2: from that world of Bridgerton. So you would have to
- 36:25Speaker 2: do the same thing with Star Wars. You would have
- 36:28Speaker 2: to use the instruments. You kind of have to give
- 36:31Speaker 2: it that Uh.
- 36:33Speaker 1: What's the phrase for what multiple like air tunnels kind
- 36:38Speaker 1: of because.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Like, what's the what's the actual term for Star Wars
- 36:44Speaker 2: music within the universe? Again? What is it called? Diegetic? Oh?
- 36:47Speaker 2: I yeah, I remember this because everybody was making fun
- 36:50Speaker 2: of the name of it. Jizz Is was the.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that's like one of the genres.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Yeah so, but yeah, it's an upbeat swing genre of music,
- 37:04Speaker 2: most notably performed by figuring On and Modell Nods and
- 37:13Speaker 2: Max Reebo. But you hear you, If you hear Cantina music,
- 37:18Speaker 2: you're like, that's Star Wars music. But just change the
- 37:22Speaker 2: notes a little bit to make an actual song in
- 37:25Speaker 2: the modern era. I would totally be down for that.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I think it would be fun.
- 37:29Speaker 1: It's fun. There's nothing wrong with it obviously, like if
- 37:34Speaker 1: you want to put alien lyrics to it, like by
- 37:36Speaker 1: all means, but like I also think, like you can't.
- 37:39Speaker 1: There's like not a guitar. Well, I guess you do
- 37:42Speaker 1: have a guitar because like Visions did a guitar. But yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 1: I'm like thinking like bad Blood not necessarily love story.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 37:53Speaker 2: Like I don't know.
- 37:57Speaker 1: It definitely.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Like for me personally, I don't listen to a
- 38:05Speaker 2: lot of music right now. Right now, whenever it comes
- 38:09Speaker 2: to my listening choice, it is podcasts and audio books.
- 38:15Speaker 2: I don't listen to a whole lot of music. Abby
- 38:17Speaker 2: is the music person. So if like we're listening to something,
- 38:22Speaker 2: I'd be like, oh, who's this? And she tells me, like,
- 38:25Speaker 2: who's in the music scene, Like the only few people
- 38:28Speaker 2: that I know right now that are in the music scene,
- 38:31Speaker 2: Like I like Halsey. I don't know if she's making
- 38:33Speaker 2: any current music right now, but like right now, Sabrina
- 38:38Speaker 2: Carpenter is like really really big, Like I know that.
- 38:41Speaker 2: So if I were to hear like a couple tunes
- 38:44Speaker 2: of a Sabrina Carpenter song in Skeleton Crew all of
- 38:48Speaker 2: a sudden in a cantina or whatever, I think that
- 38:51Speaker 2: would be fun. I'd be like, Ah, that's cool, you
- 38:53Speaker 2: know whatever. But of course I know there's gonna be
- 38:56Speaker 2: people that are just like, that's not Star Wars music.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 39:02Speaker 1: It's sci fi fantasy, Get over your fuck it selves.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Well yeah, and again, like you just mentioned, we see
- 39:15Speaker 2: in Star Wars itself that there are people who are
- 39:18Speaker 2: in a band Max Rebo and all of them in
- 39:21Speaker 2: the CANTEENA. So you have to assume, oh, people make
- 39:25Speaker 2: a career out of this within the Star Wars universe.
- 39:28Speaker 2: We see it again and like you said, visions, So
- 39:33Speaker 2: there should be a wider variety of music that we
- 39:37Speaker 2: see and hear in Star Wars projects that I think
- 39:43Speaker 2: that should be a genuine thing.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and the music of Star Wars John Williams is
- 39:49Speaker 1: so beloved, But also John Williams is ninety two. You're
- 39:52Speaker 1: not gonna evoke his feeling for forever. And generations change
- 39:57Speaker 1: and want different types of music in their paradect Like,
- 40:02Speaker 1: the only reason I'm listening to like Pano adaptations right
- 40:07Speaker 1: now is because that's what Marco likes. I'm not, like,
- 40:11Speaker 1: that's not me at all. I'm not a classical music
- 40:14Speaker 1: person by any means. Like people are like, oh, yeah,
- 40:17Speaker 1: I listen to Hans Zimmer or I listen to John
- 40:19Speaker 1: Williams and that's how I study. No, absolutely, Like, don't
- 40:26Speaker 1: get me wrong, I love the music in the context
- 40:29Speaker 1: of the movie. But I have literally tried sitting there
- 40:32Speaker 1: because they're like, oh yeah, classical music is best for
- 40:34Speaker 1: the brain and that's how you remember things. And I
- 40:37Speaker 1: will sit there and I literally fell asleep at my
- 40:39Speaker 1: desk one time.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Like it's it's rough. I can't do it. I can't
- 40:44Speaker 2: do classical music. I can barely do like movie soundtracks.
- 40:51Speaker 2: It's just not my thing. Now again, I like the
- 40:54Speaker 2: technical side of it. If you put me in front
- 40:57Speaker 2: of a screen and you show me, oh this was
- 41:00Speaker 2: made using this and putting this together. Like I love
- 41:03Speaker 2: all of that. That's fun to me, but listening to
- 41:06Speaker 2: it just because I can't do it. I can't do it,
- 41:10Speaker 2: Like I at one point, like I'm a really big
- 41:13Speaker 2: fan of Man of Steel and like I love the
- 41:18Speaker 2: fly scene, I cannot listen to that music by itself.
- 41:23Speaker 2: It's just like, oh my god, this thing's like six
- 41:25Speaker 2: minutes long. Let's just move on already, come on, keep going,
- 41:28Speaker 2: Like I need something a little bit more energizing, something
- 41:32Speaker 2: with lyrics something. So that's that's just me though, and
- 41:37Speaker 2: everybody has a different opinion.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Yeah, And if that's controversial, I'm sorry. I just can't
- 41:42Speaker 1: do it. Like I'm just I'm also just not a
- 41:45Speaker 1: music person in general, Like but it's really not.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but again, I think it would be a very
- 41:52Speaker 2: fun integration of modern music within Star Wars if they
- 42:00Speaker 2: were to do that in future projects. So, Lucasfilm, if
- 42:04Speaker 2: you're listening to us, we give you the green light.
- 42:08Speaker 2: It's okay, Okay, just do it. It's gonna be fine.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Do we have anything else to say about the trailer specific?
- 42:20Speaker 1: Really, I'm really interested by the footage. It kind of
- 42:23Speaker 1: looks and based on some of the quotes in the interviews,
- 42:27Speaker 1: it kind of looks like we could be doing something
- 42:30Speaker 1: along the lines of, Oh my gosh, what's the Jim
- 42:32Speaker 1: Carrey movie where the Truman Show? Because oh yeah, basically
- 42:38Speaker 1: one of the one of the kids is like, oh yeah,
- 42:41Speaker 1: like we're traveling around and nobody knows what planet we're from.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Like we keep saying like we need to get back
- 42:46Speaker 1: to our planet, but they don't know what planet we're from.
- 42:49Speaker 2: That is very interesting. I think that is a very
- 42:53Speaker 2: fun thing because again, we talk about it all the time.
- 42:58Speaker 2: We in every Star Wars project get a mention of
- 43:05Speaker 2: a known planet within Star Wars. And I think it's
- 43:08Speaker 2: more so for a fact, for us the audience to
- 43:12Speaker 2: feel connected to the universe, right. I think it's just
- 43:16Speaker 2: very simple of like, oh course on yeah, we all
- 43:18Speaker 2: know Courson, it's you know where the Jedi Temple was,
- 43:21Speaker 2: and you know the Senate and all of this a
- 43:22Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah. Oh we know Tattooine. Oh we
- 43:25Speaker 2: know this. Like, I think it's very much for the
- 43:27Speaker 2: audience to be like, hey, you are in the Star
- 43:31Speaker 2: Wars universe. For the fact that a plot point in
- 43:36Speaker 2: this series is these kids wanting to go on in
- 43:41Speaker 2: an adventure, end up leaving their home planet and then
- 43:45Speaker 2: trying to get home and nobody knows where they are. Katie,
- 43:51Speaker 2: are we finally going to hit outside and this should.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Be our final ad break? So y'all thanks for bearing
- 44:06Speaker 1: with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be right back. I
- 44:09Speaker 1: don't think so, because in the trailer, one of the
- 44:13Speaker 1: kids has Old Republic credits and the bartenders like, where
- 44:18Speaker 1: did you get Old Republic credits? Like, so I think,
- 44:22Speaker 1: like maybe the planet could be outside, but also where
- 44:27Speaker 1: would they get Old Republic credits if they were outside
- 44:32Speaker 1: of the like in the Unknown Regions? So that could
- 44:37Speaker 1: have been cool, if not in a really good theory,
- 44:41Speaker 1: if not for that scene, ununless unless they got it
- 44:46Speaker 1: off the Jedi ship.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Yeah, fine, that's what I mean. It is completely possible,
- 44:52Speaker 2: because I also don't believe that in a universe like
- 45:01Speaker 2: Star Wars where a galactic war took place for so
- 45:09Speaker 2: many years and technically still going on semi during this
- 45:15Speaker 2: time of the Skeleton Crew, Like, how if they were
- 45:25Speaker 2: inside like the known universe that we've seen in Star Wars.
- 45:31Speaker 2: How can people not know about it?
- 45:34Speaker 1: No, it could completely be like they're a colony in
- 45:37Speaker 1: the unknown regions that like Palpatine put out because he
- 45:41Speaker 1: wanted to, like and a lot of people have said
- 45:44Speaker 1: this is a theory, but like make it so that
- 45:48Speaker 1: like there's part of the galaxy that thinks like everything's
- 45:51Speaker 1: still fine and tandy, and like you're feeding in like
- 45:54Speaker 1: the news that you want and everything, which could explain
- 45:57Speaker 1: like the suburbia that we're seeing. Ah, because ultimately I
- 46:03Speaker 1: think that's the best theory is, Hey, we have suburban
- 46:07Speaker 1: Star Wars. There's other planets in the galaxy. Guys. Things
- 46:11Speaker 1: can look like Earth.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Oh how fucking weird. Sorry for really good but just
- 46:18Speaker 2: thinking about like Alpatine making this plan It's like, and
- 46:22Speaker 2: then I went a neighborhood and I want, you know,
- 46:25Speaker 2: this col de Sac here, I want this cold de
- 46:28Speaker 2: Sac here, you know. Like it's so stupid and funny
- 46:33Speaker 2: at the same time, but yeah, I could totally see
- 46:38Speaker 2: that for him to be able to control a whole
- 46:43Speaker 2: region of space to like its birthing point, right, and
- 46:47Speaker 2: so he is feeding it from the ground up, Like
- 46:51Speaker 2: I think that would be an interesting plot point. I
- 46:55Speaker 2: kind of feel like that would be something that was
- 46:58Speaker 2: shown though, like because I think that would be a
- 47:01Speaker 2: hook to be like, oh wow, that's so strange. But again,
- 47:05Speaker 2: I think this one scene of oh how'd you get
- 47:08Speaker 2: old Republic credits? I think that within itself, people are
- 47:11Speaker 2: latching onto it, so it is important, right, So, and
- 47:16Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 47:19Speaker 1: It could also tie back into the Throng plot, like
- 47:23Speaker 1: maybe Throng did some building there because he wanted to
- 47:28Speaker 1: kind of see how people of the Republic could adapt
- 47:33Speaker 1: like to what was going on. But you also talk
- 47:37Speaker 1: about how like oh, how would you not know that
- 47:39Speaker 1: a great war is happening? But remember, there's like seven
- 47:42Speaker 1: hundred and fifty known planets I think the last NAP counting,
- 47:48Speaker 1: and then we've had like several new planets come up
- 47:51Speaker 1: since then. And in legends, there was the inner core
- 47:59Speaker 1: of the known galaxy and it was tough to get there,
- 48:02Speaker 1: and that's where like tie this and things were, and
- 48:07Speaker 1: you had to go through like certain like nebulas and everything.
- 48:14Speaker 1: But like Bain goes there, Ban goes to one of
- 48:17Speaker 1: the planets in the inner core that's impossible to find,
- 48:21Speaker 1: and the Jedi are only able to follow him because
- 48:25Speaker 1: they knew where he like they like started out falling
- 48:28Speaker 1: and stuff. And I'm paraphrasing a lot of this, but
- 48:32Speaker 1: like Zana talks about like or no, it's Xana's new
- 48:39Speaker 1: apprentice goes, well, like, how are the Jedi not going
- 48:42Speaker 1: to find us here? And she's like, well, we killed
- 48:44Speaker 1: all the Jedi and they're never going to be able
- 48:46Speaker 1: to find this place. So there definitely planets that are
- 48:51Speaker 1: like able to hide with like their circumstances space stuff
- 49:01Speaker 1: around them and everything.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think it's I think it's a very
- 49:08Speaker 2: fun idea. It's a very interesting idea because, like you said,
- 49:12Speaker 2: as a universe that we the audience have been so
- 49:18Speaker 2: accustomed to just like oh yeah, people just travel through
- 49:22Speaker 2: light speed and they go to all these planets and
- 49:25Speaker 2: that everybody knows. It's a very key point and a
- 49:29Speaker 2: very interesting point that there's just happens to be one
- 49:32Speaker 2: planet that people don't know of, And I think that's
- 49:34Speaker 2: very very cool. But yeah, I think it's going to
- 49:37Speaker 2: be a very fun series. A lot of people are
- 49:41Speaker 2: attaching themselves to this one individual character in this series. Yes,
- 49:50Speaker 2: that is in fact not related or the same species
- 49:56Speaker 2: relative to that of Max re Belt, uh.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Which is strange to me.
- 50:04Speaker 2: What but.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Like, I don't know, like it, I am like, and
- 50:12Speaker 1: it goes back to like the oh, like Finns a
- 50:15Speaker 1: black person, so he's related to the Lando thing. I'm sorry,
- 50:18Speaker 1: but like they look exactly the same.
- 50:24Speaker 2: They do and they don't. So one thing that I
- 50:29Speaker 2: noticed with this character in Skeleton Crew she has an iris,
- 50:36Speaker 2: she has pupils, whereas Max Rebo's eyes are all black. Okay,
- 50:43Speaker 2: so there is small characteristics that are there. The trunks
- 50:48Speaker 2: on of course, their face different sizes. Now it could
- 50:53Speaker 2: be for the fact that this individual is a kid exactly.
- 50:59Speaker 2: This individual has what looks like hair, where Max Ribo
- 51:03Speaker 2: did not, you know. Uh, So I think there are
- 51:07Speaker 2: key things. And for the fact that Max Rebo was
- 51:10Speaker 2: for some reason always naked and this individual is not.
- 51:16Speaker 2: So like there's something to that as well. So I
- 51:19Speaker 2: think that it is, in my mind a little obvious
- 51:23Speaker 2: that they were not the same species, but you know,
- 51:29Speaker 2: change their owne as far as like, cause again, this
- 51:33Speaker 2: is a large universe. Yeah, there should be a large
- 51:39Speaker 2: amount of species.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Completely lave hair and I'm trying to wrap my head
- 51:43Speaker 1: around it. But it's at the same time, it's like
- 51:46Speaker 1: alien looks identical and because like you could also use
- 51:53Speaker 1: like the well they look different too, but like all
- 51:58Speaker 1: the twilights look different, so I don't.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah I can. I can agree to that to
- 52:08Speaker 2: a point.
- 52:10Speaker 1: You got yeah, purple, you got orange, you got green,
- 52:13Speaker 1: and yellow, blue, blue. But then like the headtails can
- 52:18Speaker 1: be different, so like men can have two, but they
- 52:21Speaker 1: can also have three, or they could have one, but
- 52:25Speaker 1: then girls always have two, and then the females have
- 52:29Speaker 1: cone ears and the males don't. Yeah, there's a lot
- 52:36Speaker 1: of weird rules to Star Wars people, it's just the
- 52:39Speaker 1: way it goes.
- 52:41Speaker 2: So I think it's gonna be fun. I think that
- 52:45Speaker 2: people should not try and get caught up in the
- 52:52Speaker 2: quote unquote rules of Star Wars because sometimes that just
- 52:58Speaker 2: it makes it not fun. And I think we just
- 53:01Speaker 2: need oh what was it?
- 53:04Speaker 1: Ultimately you could be critical of a show without insulting
- 53:09Speaker 1: the actors, and especially considering the main actors are children.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, no, there there is. I think we discussed
- 53:22Speaker 2: it before, but like a couple of weeks ago, there
- 53:24Speaker 2: was a huge post that was kind of going viral
- 53:26Speaker 2: that was like, oh, protect these kids, and then somebody
- 53:29Speaker 2: quote tweeted it and said, no, these kids don't need protecting,
- 53:33Speaker 2: they just need to take criticism. Blah blah blah. And
- 53:35Speaker 2: then there is a lot of conversation about like it's
- 53:38Speaker 2: because of posts like this that we do need to
- 53:40Speaker 2: protect these kids, you know. So, yeah, suck.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Is not valid criticism pre any variation.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and again I truly believe there's no valid criticism
- 53:57Speaker 2: until at least the first episode is out. There can
- 54:00Speaker 2: be opinions on choices, so exactly, yes, there could be
- 54:06Speaker 2: valid criticisms of themes and like the direction the show
- 54:13Speaker 2: could be going. But like to flat out say, like
- 54:18Speaker 2: a harsh criticism towards something that has not even aired yet. Again,
- 54:23Speaker 2: we've been through this with the Acolyte. It don't do
- 54:26Speaker 2: it with the show, guys. It's it's it's a waste
- 54:29Speaker 2: of time for everybody. So let's just enjoy what we have.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I mean, if you don't want to enjoy it, don't
- 54:37Speaker 1: watch it.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Yeah. I agree with that one hundred percent.
- 54:44Speaker 1: To our main topics.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Yes, to our main topic tonight, which is Padawan's pride
- 54:51Speaker 2: and Katie. I will completely admit during that whole entire
- 54:54Speaker 2: time I was doing chores. I still had about forty
- 54:57Speaker 2: minutes left on the the audiobook, and so I put
- 55:02Speaker 2: it to one point five speed and listen to the
- 55:04Speaker 2: rest of it. I got it all done this time,
- 55:09Speaker 2: and I did. I did. I did end up finishing
- 55:13Speaker 2: empires In because I did make that promise. I was
- 55:16Speaker 2: gonna skip right to Padawan's Pride, but I was like,
- 55:19Speaker 2: it's only thirty minutes, let's go ahead and listen to it.
- 55:22Speaker 2: And so I did a good job.
- 55:24Speaker 1: I'm so proud of you.
- 55:25Speaker 2: We both had to suffered, you know, Yes, so Padawan's Pride.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Uh.
- 55:33Speaker 2: This of course is taking place after Phantom Menace, before
- 55:42Speaker 2: Attack of the Clones. And one thing that I think
- 55:48Speaker 2: is so hilarious is it doesn't seem like Obi Wan
- 55:54Speaker 2: Kenobi has aged at all from this moment to the
- 56:00Speaker 2: moment we see him in Attack of the Clones. He
- 56:05Speaker 2: like for the the the amount of years. It's it
- 56:10Speaker 2: is in between, like there is a fountain of youth
- 56:14Speaker 2: that Obi Wan is just drinking from. Because they use
- 56:18Speaker 2: the exact same character model for this cover for Obi
- 56:26Speaker 2: Wan from Attack of the Clones and then there's a
- 56:30Speaker 2: slight change. I can almost guarantee that whoever drew this
- 56:36Speaker 2: took the character model because I believe there was an
- 56:40Speaker 2: old school cult scholastic novel, of course would be considered
- 56:44Speaker 2: legends now of Anakin as a padawan lets him on
- 56:50Speaker 2: the cover, and I believe somebody just found that on Google.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Whoever did this cover and just like drew that as
- 56:58Speaker 2: a reference because it looks like But I digress this
- 57:05Speaker 2: is and I had to kind of roll my eyes
- 57:08Speaker 2: at the reasoning why this mission takes place. But Katie,
- 57:14Speaker 2: why don't you give us a quick summary, a round
- 57:17Speaker 2: up if you will, of like what this audiobook is about.
- 57:25Speaker 1: So this audiobook takes place, Oh you want and Anakin
- 57:30Speaker 1: are supposed to go on a mission and then you're
- 57:32Speaker 1: pod racing. Anakin is the pod racer to specific and
- 57:38Speaker 1: they are trying to bring home a Republic spy who
- 57:42Speaker 1: has been spying on the criminal syndicates. And they get
- 57:47Speaker 1: to I forget the planet. This is the problem with
- 57:51Speaker 1: audio originals too, is I need a physical because I
- 57:54Speaker 1: like to read it and understand and like be able
- 57:56Speaker 1: to Yeah, anyways.
- 57:59Speaker 2: On the Moons of Viral is where Viral.
- 58:05Speaker 1: And so they get to Viral and Obi Wan has
- 58:08Speaker 1: to leave because he is familiar with the Hut that
- 58:14Speaker 1: is on the planet Ah, and the Hut does not
- 58:19Speaker 1: like him very much and will blow their cover. So
- 58:22Speaker 1: Anakin is left to fend for himself in a race
- 58:28Speaker 1: to save the agent and discover if he's truly meant
- 58:31Speaker 1: to be a Jedi.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I kind of rolled my eyes when there. There
- 58:41Speaker 2: is a moment in the beginning of this audiobook where
- 58:44Speaker 2: or audible when uh, because it opens up with Anakin
- 58:50Speaker 2: stealing a speeder or some sort of aircraft and flying
- 58:57Speaker 2: it through Coruscant. Uh. We know that at this time,
- 59:03Speaker 2: Obi Wan Kenobi is spending a lot of midnight hours
- 59:09Speaker 2: uh in the Jedi archives trying to figure out who
- 59:14Speaker 2: killed Qui gon Jin.
- 59:18Speaker 1: Yes, so trying to see he does. Ultimately came to
- 59:23Speaker 1: the idea of okay, maybe he was a Sith, but
- 59:26Speaker 1: was he the master or was he the apprentice?
- 59:32Speaker 2: Yes?
- 59:33Speaker 1: And uh.
- 59:36Speaker 2: When oh man I keep forgetting the uh uh the
- 59:45Speaker 2: librarian archivist, Yes, Jocasta. She confronts Obi Wan and she's like, oh,
- 59:54Speaker 2: by the way, the council is looking for you. He's like,
- 59:57Speaker 2: at this hour, what's going on? Like why are they
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: looking for me at this hour? And then all of
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: a sudden, you just hear the sirens. He's like, ah, crap,
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: what did Anakin do this? And it's the fact that
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Anakin stole a speeder and he's They end up going
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: to the council and they're like, Okay, he stole a speeder.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: I didn't pay attention to him enough to like, you know,
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: make sure that this didn't happen. We both need to
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: be punished. What's going on? And You're just like, oh, well, uh,
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: there's no punishment for now, but there's a mission for you.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: And Obi One's like just like, are you kidding me?
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: We we both did something very wrong, and I like
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: how Anakin it's kind of like just looking at him, like, dude,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: are you trying to get me kicked out of the
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: freaking academy?
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Hey, where's our homework? We didn't get assigned any homework.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: And they're like, shut up, dude. I don't like, like,
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: stop being a narc you know. But this is where
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: I rolled my eyes because Yoda was like, oh, it's
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: a mission that only Anakin can can can what's the
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: crazy accomplished? Yeah? And then the new chapter starts and
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: it's like, oh, pod racing and I'm like, oh God,
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: like why Like I I understand there's a there's a
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: bit of fun with that idea, but why pod racing?
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: You could have given anything, Well, you.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Have to think about it. You need something that's applicable
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: for Anakin to kind of because this is ultimately like
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Anakin's Padawan book. Like obi Wan was struggling to figure
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: out if he was meant to be a Jedd, this
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: is same exact thing. So you need something that Anakin
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: is good at, even though we know he's basically good
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: at anything he touches, So you need something that he's
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: naturally good at. You also need the capability for people
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: to recognize him because the Hut does end up recognizing
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: him based off his pod racing skills and like having
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: familiar faces like the whole thing just to like draw
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: people in and everything. Plus you need something that like
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Anakin's not just good at, but he can do by
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: himself because you need obi Wan to go away. Yeh,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: So to me it made sense. Plus we never got
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: any pod racing after the movies, Like I know, there's
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: like the video games and stuff. Yeah, like in pod
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: racing never came back up, So to me, it wasn't.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Like, ah, like really like that's true, and I think
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: it's I think that The Phantom Menace, of course, had
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: the unfortunate uh fan reaction of like, oh, this is
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: the worst Star Wars movie ever, So Lucasfilm probably wanted
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: to veer away from anything and everything that episode one
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: had in it. So yeah, of course they didn't bring
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: back pod racing, which is a very good point actually,
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Like like even even you you look at things like
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: the High Republic and there hasn't been anything of the
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: sorts when it comes to sports.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: See, and I'm still like you get sports because you
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: have like your father year racing and then you have
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: like it was Tales of the of Light and Life
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: because like, oh, oh, what's his name? Grey Lark? Grey
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Lark was playing something in there, and.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: I'm going to create that I don't remember that.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: I'm fairly certain he was playing like they were watching something.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: He wasn't playing it, he was watching it.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Okay, okay, But.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: There's like other mentions of sports. It's just like you
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: don't get like a big appeal for it, I guess,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: but like there's a lot of racing and stuff and
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: like to me, honestly, all this and I said, like
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Lego Skywalker Saga was the dream, but the ultimate dream
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: is a Star Wars pod racing game in the similar
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: vein of Mario Kart.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: That I think, I think that would be I think
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: that would be very fun. There's there's a lot of
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: racing games that Lucas Film can kind of look into
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: to be like, oh, how can we adapt pod racing
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: you modern gaming? And I think it can definitely work.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: But yeah, like the idea of this pod race is
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: something that, like you said, only Anakin can do on
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: his own. He gets to build his own pod racer,
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: and he has this like little flashback of when he
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: built his and won the race on Tattooine. But he
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: was like, oh, man, but back then, I had so
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: many people with me. I had all my friends, Pad May, Judge,
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: jar binks Qui, gon Jin, they were all there. And
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: you know, he's a little sad now because he doesn't
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: have anybody. Like you said, there is a bit of
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: a questioning of whether he should be the the Jedi
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: that you know he's training to be at this current time,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: and like you said, Obi Wan has to leave. There's
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: even a moment where he is doing I think at
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: this time Anakin was doing a test run and obi
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Wan just all of a sudden is talking on a
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: uh on their colms and he's like slow down, like
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: you're driving like a Jedi, stop doing that, And Anakin's like,
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: where the hell are you? Like how are you even
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: watching me right now? And he's just like just consider
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: me there in spirit, which I think is a little
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: like on the nose, like oh, you know, uh Luke
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Skywalker and obi Wan like the forest like, oh, I
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: think there's a little bit of that going on there,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: which I think is fun.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: And remember this is a middle grade kid's book. Ye
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: I was saying that more for like people listening like
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: like geese.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: To be expected, Like there's there's a moment where, like
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: in I don't necessarily like how they the scene, but
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: there's a moment where Anakin needs to like create a distraction,
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: so he's like using the force to like kind of
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: create this chaos moment at like a dinner or something.
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: And the way the narrator described it was he was
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: explaining the plan that Anakin was going to do, but
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: like the way he described it was also it was
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: happening in real time, so I got a little lost
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: there for a second and I had to be like, Okay,
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: so this actually did happen, even though you're using like
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: future in past tense.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Okay, it's whatever. But yeah, I think and again I
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: don't think this review is going to be very long. Again,
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: this was only a like it is literally three hours
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: and fifty seven minutes, I think, so a little under
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: four hours, like Katie had said before. But ultimately, I
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: think it was a fun little story. I think that
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: this is a very unique ordeal that Star Wars has
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: decided to do with these audio originals.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Yeah, I think this was a fun story.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: It was a fun read. It wasn't something that dragged
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: at all. The author, by the way, because you have
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: not mentioned that at all, is Brian Q Miller, who
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: has he written any other things. He wrote on the
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: television series Small Bill and wrote for the Batgirl comic
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: book run, but this was his first uh Star Wars appearance.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: The narrator is Kevin pen who really did a fantastic job.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he did a very very good job with the
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: like uh dialect of the young actor. I can't remember
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: his name off the top of my head. Yeah, for Anakin,
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: I think that he did a fairly good job with
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: the dialect. Jake Lloyd, Yes, and his his OBI one
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: was was pretty well as well.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I honestly the first time I read I listened
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: to this when it first came out, because obviously on
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: audio originals at this point was Star Wars, right, you're
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: thinking like full cast and everything. So honestly, the first
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: time I listened to it, I was like, oh, this
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: is like a full cast like Brava, Like, I'm impressed,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: and so it's not a full cast, but I was
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: still like, very I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. And Jake Bartalk,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: who you see on Star Wars Twitter, he does like
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: the He does a lot of higher public artwork with
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: like the old look and everything. He actually did the
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: art on this, and he did the art on Seeds
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: of Starlight, so okay.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: I thought I thought it looked familiar as far as
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: the art style. He's actually been doing a lot of
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: stuff for Star Wars and comics.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: Actually yeah, because he's started a lot of work on
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: the higher public adventures, but he was known for a
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: lot of Star Wars fan art and actually it looks
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: like the first actual cover they have him down for
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: is Alyssa Wong's The Battle of Ariatu, so they just
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: have him down for stories of Jedi and Sith and
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: then Patwan's Pride after that. H But I mean it's
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: a really simple listen I have. Like I said, I
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: shared it with my sister and she was like, oh,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: like Keith A love this, and he really did. Keith
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: is my is my one and a half year old nephew.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: So like they put on all these because Disney released
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: like a Frozen audiobook a Cars, so this was like
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: a bunch of like Audible original straight front Disney. So
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: it was a good move. I think I'm very sad
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: that there was no publication like, oh hey these are coming,
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: so like at least we found out about Seeds of
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Starlight in advance.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I would like to know if cause again, you know,
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: just the work that I do. Eventually, these books are
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: solicited for me. So even though I'm putting in this info,
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: there is once a month we put a huge catalog
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: saying hey, this stuff is new to order, this stuff
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: is now on sale, you know, all of these different things.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: I think Amazon and Audible should definitely do that type
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: of thing when it comes to these originals.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I get emails about new things on Audible,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: but I haven't opened those emails and forever, like they
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: go to a spam folder basically. Yeah, like they were
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: doing a three like if you spend three credits then
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: you get a credit free sale, and I didn't find
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: out about it for two months, like.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: I remember that sale. Yeah.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: So yeah, it's just like it's a lot, and I
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: think Audible is trying to expand its horizons with kind
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: of getting some more originals because they had a lot
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: of originals and then they like dropped off the map
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: and stuff, so like the originals part of it and everything.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: So overall, if you have an Audible account, I would
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: recommend getting giving this a listen, especially if you have
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: younger kids. I think it's fully appropriate for younger kids especially.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so as well. And again for those
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: who do listen to things like on their way to
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: work and stuff, this is a good, like week long listen,
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: you know, to work and back. I think would be
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: a very easy listen to to be completely honest.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: So yeah, now that we're in daycare, I'm gonna start
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: putting audio books back on in the car because I
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: take her in the morning and that picture up. So
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: I now have a commute as a remote worker.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: Oh so, hey, at least you get out of the house.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: That's a good thing.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: It's probably a good thing for my mental health.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think it's it's very much a
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: good thing.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Otherwise I just stay at my desk, don't they I
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: get to stare at the window my neighbors across the
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: street are putting. In an addition, I get to see
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: the progress I live more, y'all. But with that, guys, Clay,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: I think that's it.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it very much is. I wish that's And here's
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: the hard thing. One last comment about this. You know
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: we're talking about the runtime three hours and fifty seven minutes.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: I think this might be a sweet spot. You know,
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: the we talked about the other one that is coming
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: out soon, it is four hours and twenty nine minutes.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: I don't think you can break the five hour mark
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: with these because at because if they want them to
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: just be smaller projects, I think this is the way
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: to go. It's really easy. And I don't know, I
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: like something about it is just like, hey, this needs
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: to be a small thing. So yeah, I think this
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: three to five hour mark is going to be a
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: sweet spot for these audible originals. But guys, yeah, we
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: want to thank you for being here to listen to
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: our review. Thank you for you know, just talk about
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: earlier in the very beginning of this podcast. I think
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: some things that are going to help us through this
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: is appreciating what we do have at this current time,
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: and so I want to thank you all for listening
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: to us every single week. Reminder that we do have
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: a very cool interview happening next week with Steven and
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be really fun. I'm really excited
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: about this. I will go ahead and mention that I
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: have not read or haven't started reading the other book yet, Katie,
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: but I'm going to try and get a little bit
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: of it just to kind of see where he was
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: as a writer when he first read that comparative to
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: what we had just read with Mace Windu. So I
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: think it'll be a lot of a lot of fun. Guys,
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: stay tuned that he is going to join us live
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: here on YouTube for that conversation. It's going to be
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: so much fun. But you can you can find me
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: at fanboy Clay on any and all social media. Don't
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: know how much long are I going to be on Twitter?
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: But that's just me personally, Katie. What about you?
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I can find me on thost social media platforms.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: That is at Katie. This show you can find on Twitter.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: We need to get it on Blue Sky or something else.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: It is at Star Wars Lance up the A and
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: the war is very important to forget it number you
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: can shoot use that same user name and shoot us
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: an email at gmail dot com. Or I think that's
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: about it, right, Because you lost the other phone.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: No I didn't, or did you get it back? Yes?
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: I got it back. It is uh. I use it
- 1:17:17Speaker 2: actually for my work phone now, which means I kind
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: of have to answer every single uh work call. Otherwise
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: they will hear the uh the uh Star Wars hotline
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: voicemail and they'll be like, the heck is this? So
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: I just have to know the numbers for work and
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: I'll be like, oh god, okay, but yeah, the phone
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: number for the hotline is eight three zero five three
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: eight four eight two eight. Please text and or call.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: We will of course listen in or read these texts beforehand,
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: so don't be acted a fool when you do it.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Of course, give us your opinion on anything and everything
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: that we talk about, any Star Wars content that you
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: consume that you want to talk about. Let us know
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: it is going to be fun. Of course, with a
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: Skeleton crew coming out, you want your first reaction to
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: be heard, call the number, leave us a voicemail. We
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: will play it here if it is appropriate, we will
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: react to it, we will answer any questions whatever. I
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: think it'll be really really fun. And of course the
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: email is Star Wars Alliance at gmail dot com. Remember
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: there is no A in between W and R, so
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: it's just Star Wars Alliance.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: Look, I wanted it to be the same.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: A bunch of different Oh, I am not dogging it whatsoever.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: I'm just saying because we always say, remember there is
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: no A in the in Wars. It's very important, don't
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: forget it. But like it's it's it's I always get
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: confused when we say that. I'm like, but there is
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: an A in War. But that's not what you mean.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: It's the actual email that you're talking about. So it
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: is s T A R w R S A L
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: L I A n C E at gmail dot com.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I don't know if you spelled that right, but I'm too.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: LUs I was reading it from the thing it's right there,
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: like I hope I got it right, geez, Louise, I
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: think it is. It's late, so who.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: I got mom brain and it's late, like you know what.
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: I'm so tired, but y'all, I want to wish everyone
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: a great day or night, whatever time day you are
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: listening or watching, and we will see you'll next time.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: May the Force be with you.
