- 1:55Speaker 2: that is in some parts but lifting in the valleys,
- 1:59Speaker 2: and it's just gorgeous, just beautiful. Look chilli, but beautiful
- 2:08Speaker 2: out there. From Flying the Wall Productions on the webed
- 2:12Speaker 2: aired out vt dot com website recently made by Woodland Studios.
- 2:19Speaker 2: They did such a nice job. We appreciate them so
- 2:22Speaker 2: so much. We're live on Facebook and YouTube, We're streamed
- 2:25Speaker 2: everywhere you get your podcasts. It is a new week,
- 2:27Speaker 2: it is a new day, and we have a whole
- 2:30Speaker 2: bunch of new construction projects that we are contending with
- 2:35Speaker 2: this week. Please be careful, slow down, take the time
- 2:38Speaker 2: being or get in to where you need to be.
- 2:42Speaker 2: That's what I'm trying to say. Stay off the phone,
- 2:45Speaker 2: pay attention, drive carefully this week, not just today, but
- 2:49Speaker 2: this whole week. It's a National fudge Day. Today. Birthdays
- 2:53Speaker 2: we have Ben Goodwin, Bonnie Maguire, Ezra Mulherne, Carol Lacasse,
- 2:59Speaker 2: Marie Tanya Flood, Jackie Sprague, and yesterday was Heidi Paslaqua's birthday.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Great Lady Red Sox completed a sweep of the Yankees
- 3:12Speaker 2: and then traded Raphael Devers. One of the biggest stories
- 3:18Speaker 2: in the sports page this morning. Unbelievable. Shane van Gusenbergen
- 3:26Speaker 2: wins at Mexico City Boy. He was on top of
- 3:29Speaker 2: the world yesterday. Just all smiles. Weekend is behind us.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Now we have a brand new week in front of us,
- 3:44Speaker 2: a clean slate. I hope that if you are a dad,
- 3:51Speaker 2: that you had a fantastic Father's Day yesterday. And if
- 3:58Speaker 2: you are a dad who does not have a child anymore,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I hope that you got through Father's Day okay yesterday.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I just want to say that. And if you are
- 4:21Speaker 2: a dad whose kids did not show up for you
- 4:26Speaker 2: yesterday or do anything or recognize you in any way,
- 4:32Speaker 2: that sucks for me. It was. It was fantastic. It
- 4:42Speaker 2: was a great weekend. I'm tired. I'm getting older. Bear
- 4:48Speaker 2: Ridge Speedway on Saturday night was just amazing. Wow. Michael Danforth,
- 4:56Speaker 2: junior of the forty four car, Holy crap, what fun man.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I haven't been to bear Ridge in a long time,
- 5:04Speaker 2: but that was part of my Father's Day weekend, along
- 5:07Speaker 2: with an incredible car show yesterday. Some dirt bike riding
- 5:12Speaker 2: with Lily yesterday, which was just unreal, great experience, sore
- 5:20Speaker 2: as hell. I mean here I am, you know, having
- 5:24Speaker 2: fun for hours, and then last night just could just
- 5:29Speaker 2: stiffened up. Can't go from the dirt bike to sitting
- 5:34Speaker 2: on the couch bang quickly. Just can't do that, the
- 5:39Speaker 2: lactic acid builds up. Couldn't move struggling this morning to
- 5:44Speaker 2: the back, the hips, the knees. But Lily just ripped
- 5:49Speaker 2: it so hard and I did all I could to
- 5:53Speaker 2: keep up with her. It was a fantastic Father's Day weekend.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Charylyn treated me like just amazing, and so did Lily.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I got a oh I almost forgot last night. I
- 6:07Speaker 2: got a foot massage, a foot bath by Lily, did
- 6:14Speaker 2: the full what is it called, not the manicure, the pedicure.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Got the pedicure last night. And I got a fresh
- 6:25Speaker 2: new coat of hot pink toenail polish. That was all
- 6:31Speaker 2: part of the pedicure last night. Had you know, come on,
- 6:35Speaker 2: you gotta if you're gonna get the massage and the
- 6:38Speaker 2: foot bath and all that and the ups and salts
- 6:41Speaker 2: in there and all that. If you're gonna do all that,
- 6:44Speaker 2: you can't pass on the hot pink toenail polish. So
- 6:53Speaker 2: that's what I'm supporting this morning. And it's the permanent
- 6:59Speaker 2: stuff too. So anyway, I know hot pink toes and
- 7:03Speaker 2: dirt bikes doesn't seem to go, but it did. And
- 7:09Speaker 2: capped it all off last night with some firefly catching
- 7:14Speaker 2: late last night with Lily. We got two. We got
- 7:19Speaker 2: two of them and then we got them in the
- 7:23Speaker 2: in the little thing there, and then brought him into
- 7:26Speaker 2: the bedroom so that you could see him flashing in
- 7:29Speaker 2: the dark. You remember doing that, don't you. It is
- 7:32Speaker 2: going to be a great week. Tomorrow morning, I'll be
- 7:35Speaker 2: live at Fecto Homes. Let's see what else do. I
- 7:40Speaker 2: have doctor's appointment in the afternoon. I'll give you a
- 7:43Speaker 2: recap of that too on Wednesday's say exactly what the
- 7:46Speaker 2: doctor's said. I might even go live during the doctor's
- 7:49Speaker 2: appointment tomorrow. We also have the Public Conduct Ordinance reading
- 7:58Speaker 2: and revision, which I hope is uh going to garner
- 8:06Speaker 2: some results. It would be nice. Just witnessed some domestic
- 8:14Speaker 2: stuff out on the sidewalk here just a little while ago.
- 8:17Speaker 2: A little too early for that, don't you think. Tomorrow morning,
- 8:24Speaker 2: deb Phillips from or Wednesday morning, I should say. Deb
- 8:27Speaker 2: Phillips from the World Newspaper is going to be joining
- 8:31Speaker 2: me along with sweethearts and heroes. We do that every Wednesday.
- 8:34Speaker 2: It's gonna be awesome. I can't wait. I always look
- 8:38Speaker 2: forward to that. Wednesday is a Spalding's graduation. I'm just
- 8:43Speaker 2: looking here. Hey, how do you How do you like
- 8:47Speaker 2: the glasses? Do you like these? I'm thinking about maybe
- 8:52Speaker 2: getting some some new ones. I mean, g G got
- 8:58Speaker 2: me these. I'm talking about from Optical Expressions, of course,
- 9:02Speaker 2: G got me these. What do you think? I don't know.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Maybe you could tell me. But Optical Expressions, presenting sponsor
- 9:21Speaker 2: of the Aired Out podcast, now open Monday through Friday
- 9:24Speaker 2: from eight to six. That means they're open right now
- 9:28Speaker 2: in their new location, the fourth floor of the Blanchard Block.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Right here in Barry. Optical Expressions. They've got billions of
- 9:35Speaker 2: frame styles to choose from every latest fashion, no matter
- 9:40Speaker 2: what it is. Colors you want to be you want
- 9:43Speaker 2: to be classy and kind of shrewd, that's no problem.
- 9:46Speaker 2: They've got that. You want to be wild, they've got
- 9:48Speaker 2: that too. Owe Berlin dot com check them out two
- 9:52Speaker 2: two three, twenty ninety to set up an exam today
- 9:57Speaker 2: optical Expressions U Facebook Question of the Day. We're gonna
- 10:02Speaker 2: run down a couple of headlines for you this morning,
- 10:04Speaker 2: and it's gonna be a little bit of an abbreviated
- 10:08Speaker 2: podcast this morning. I've got some technical stuff that needs
- 10:14Speaker 2: to be done. It just has to be done, and
- 10:17Speaker 2: it's going to happen real soon within the hour. Good morning,
- 10:24Speaker 2: Tom Murphy. Yes, what's something that has gradually disappeared over
- 10:34Speaker 2: the past decade that you haven't really even noticed, And
- 10:42Speaker 2: I'm wondering what this what this might be for you,
- 10:48Speaker 2: you know, in addition to fairly priced streaming services. But
- 10:53Speaker 2: I was at a car show and I had the
- 10:56Speaker 2: most fascinating conversation with this guy from Marshfield who was
- 11:03Speaker 2: he was in his eighties, I don't know. He didn't
- 11:04Speaker 2: tell me exactly how old he was. He said he
- 11:07Speaker 2: was in his eighties, and we ended up talking for
- 11:10Speaker 2: like half an hour, maybe longer, when we were talking
- 11:12Speaker 2: about his cars that he's had over his life, including
- 11:18Speaker 2: a sixty eight Chevelle convertible, which distracted me for the
- 11:25Speaker 2: rest of the day. Of course they had one there.
- 11:30Speaker 2: But one of the things that we were talking about
- 11:34Speaker 2: is of course we you know, we talked about his
- 11:37Speaker 2: good old days, which about my good old days, but
- 11:41Speaker 2: we talked about the good old eight hundred dollars beater
- 11:44Speaker 2: car that would actually run and drive. For me, it
- 11:48Speaker 2: was my first car, which was a seventy three Chevy
- 11:51Speaker 2: C ten, and we talked about that, how well it
- 11:55Speaker 2: was made, the motor in there, I think it was
- 11:57Speaker 2: a three h five or whatever V eight, But just
- 12:02Speaker 2: how thick this steel was, how great the quality of
- 12:07Speaker 2: cars was back then, and how great craftsmanship and pride
- 12:11Speaker 2: went into the car industry and cars were built to last,
- 12:18Speaker 2: And we just got into this, just this great conversation
- 12:25Speaker 2: about how things change, and that someone at some point
- 12:36Speaker 2: figured out, hey, look, if we can start cutting corners
- 12:38Speaker 2: and putting a bunch of whatever plastic and do hickeys
- 12:42Speaker 2: and bells and whistles and whatever, more, stuff will go wrong.
- 12:47Speaker 2: People will need to turn over their vehicles sooner instead
- 12:52Speaker 2: of hanging on to them for thirty forty fifty years.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Let's make cars last like ten years, maybe even less.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Let's put a thinner grade, cheaper grade, lower quality steel
- 13:10Speaker 2: in there that will rust out so quicker. I don't know,
- 13:14Speaker 2: but I ask you this morning. What is something that
- 13:18Speaker 2: you think has gradually disappeared over the last decade or two?
- 13:26Speaker 2: Mm hmm, like a real live person answering a telephone. Yeah, yeah, Wow,
- 13:45Speaker 2: you're right, Glenn. What about ownership? Just seems like everything
- 13:52Speaker 2: is rented least everything is subscription based now, I don't know.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Am I sounding like an old guy? This morning? We're
- 14:03Speaker 2: looking at morning fog today again, it will be lifting
- 14:07Speaker 2: it if it hasn't already. I'm seeing blue sky here
- 14:10Speaker 2: in the Granite City, but mostly cloudy later today is
- 14:14Speaker 2: what they're saying. And seventy eight degrees, partly cloudy tonight
- 14:20Speaker 2: sixty I'm not sure if the fireflies are going to
- 14:24Speaker 2: be out tonight. I think it might be too cold
- 14:26Speaker 2: for them. I don't know. Tomorrow mostly cloudy and seventy two.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Wednesday partly cloudy in eighty three. You should have heard
- 14:35Speaker 2: the conversation last night with Lily about why fireflies light up,
- 14:43Speaker 2: and that the males are lighting up to try to
- 14:47Speaker 2: attract the females and show off so they can mate.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Friday partly cloudy in seventy six. Looking ahead and the
- 14:59Speaker 2: weekend at this point right now looks pretty good. A
- 15:02Speaker 2: sun and clouds, a mix of both and eighties for
- 15:06Speaker 2: the Queechy Balloon Festival. Yeah, this is kind of this
- 15:11Speaker 2: is gonna be nice. It's finally gonna start filling like summer.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Remember when it did, like two weeks ago. It was
- 15:19Speaker 2: in the eighties. It was hot, and then we had
- 15:22Speaker 2: the cold front that came back with freezing on Saturday night.
- 15:27Speaker 2: It was like what forty nine degrees? I think forty
- 15:31Speaker 2: seven degrees Friday night at my house. Anyway, shout out
- 15:39Speaker 2: to BCK real Estate this morning. If you are buying
- 15:42Speaker 2: or selling a home, if you're even thinking about it,
- 15:46Speaker 2: maybe some commercial property or some real estate. Having a
- 15:50Speaker 2: brokerage with solid local insight and experiences and absolute must
- 15:56Speaker 2: you know that. I know that that's BCK real Estate.
- 16:00Speaker 2: They know that. Stop being at eighty six North Main
- 16:02Speaker 2: Street right here. Have your questions answered accurately and timely.

- 16:13Speaker 2: have a month to sit on an answer. You need it,
- 16:17Speaker 2: and you need it now. John at Bckrealestate dot com,
- 16:21Speaker 2: who's that? That's John beyond Alilo. Everyone knows him. Fanny
- 16:24Speaker 2: and Freddie are saying that the new norm for twenty
- 16:27Speaker 2: twenty five is going to be hovering around six and
- 16:30Speaker 2: a half percent or so. I don't know that's at
- 16:34Speaker 2: least what I've read. But John beyond Alilo at BCK
- 16:38Speaker 2: Real Estate will take care of you. He'll give you
- 16:41Speaker 2: answers that even I can understand. Yeah, tomorrow morning is
- 16:49Speaker 2: gonna be fun. I'll be over at Fecto Holmes, a
- 16:52Speaker 2: place that has been getting vermontors into there forever homes
- 16:56Speaker 2: since the seventies. They have some modulars that have been
- 17:00Speaker 2: turning heads. If you have driven by Fecto Homes right
- 17:04Speaker 2: right there past Tractor Supply, you've noticed some of these
- 17:10Speaker 2: gorgeous homes, these modular homes, which are They've got everybody talking.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I'll be there tomorrow morning, broadcasting live. Come with me.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I'll take you inside and we'll find your view together.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Fectohomes dot Com, three point fifty River Street. You don't
- 17:33Speaker 2: need an appointment to do a walkthrough, by the way,
- 17:36Speaker 2: you just show up and they'll leave literally leave the
- 17:39Speaker 2: lights on for you inside. You could go inside. The
- 17:41Speaker 2: doors are unlocked, walk around, have a look amazing for
- 17:45Speaker 2: mod State police were notified of three runaway juveniles in
- 17:51Speaker 2: Cavendish over the weekend last scene walking around Route one
- 17:55Speaker 2: oh three in Cavendish. Juveniles have no devices, no money,
- 18:06Speaker 2: and we've got a full description of them posted up
- 18:08Speaker 2: on the aired out page. Not sure what the heck
- 18:10Speaker 2: this is all about, but I think there's three of them,
- 18:14Speaker 2: and I think the Vermont's Day Police believe that they
- 18:17Speaker 2: are together. Hopefully this story will have a productive ending,
- 18:26Speaker 2: but I'm watching it, I'm paying attention to it. Sad story,
- 18:31Speaker 2: and it seems like every Monday we get stories about
- 18:36Speaker 2: weekend car crashes, and there were several over the weekend.
- 18:40Speaker 2: One guy Dui, Benjamin Harmon guy out of Waitsfield crashing
- 18:46Speaker 2: in Middlesex. Then we got a woman arrested in the
- 18:51Speaker 2: head on crash that killed the motorcyclist and seriously injured
- 18:55Speaker 2: another person in northeastern Vermont. Yesterday. Ellen Wilson from Saint
- 19:02Speaker 2: Albans crossed her pickup truck into oncoming traffic at around
- 19:07Speaker 2: one thirty seven yesterday afternoon on Route two in North
- 19:11Speaker 2: Hero on the Lake Champlain Islands, hitting two motorcyclists, Hunter Rounds,
- 19:22Speaker 2: a twenty year old from grand Isle, pronounced dead at
- 19:25Speaker 2: the scene, and another motorcycle rider, a fifty one year
- 19:29Speaker 2: old man from grand Isle taken to the University of
- 19:32Speaker 2: Vermont Medical Center. He's in serious but stable condition. Wilson,
- 19:37Speaker 2: who had minor injuries, cited on two counts of gross
- 19:44Speaker 2: negligent operation. She's due to face the charges in grand
- 19:48Speaker 2: Isle County Court. August seventh, Route two, the only north
- 19:57Speaker 2: south route between Grand Island and South Albert, closed for
- 20:05Speaker 2: about three hours and that sent drivers on a lengthy
- 20:10Speaker 2: detour by car or by boat. But man, it's like
- 20:16Speaker 2: seeing the stories like this on Mondays seems like every Monday,
- 20:21Speaker 2: it's pretty much a guarantee that's going to happen. There
- 20:27Speaker 2: is so much going on in the community calendar. It
- 20:30Speaker 2: is Monday, Tuesday, Tomorrow we have the Tuesday Night dinner
- 20:34Speaker 2: at the Bury American Legion. Dining in or takeout, it's
- 20:38Speaker 2: just twelve bucks. Please call ahead to order four to
- 20:41Speaker 2: seven nine nine zero five eight. They serve it up
- 20:44Speaker 2: at five point thirty and then bingo right afterwards. Eleven jackpot.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Really make sure to keep an eye in the Barry
- 20:53Speaker 2: Post ten Facebook page and the World newspaper for the menu.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Spalding GRADUATEUA on Wednesday. As I mentioned, how exciting way
- 21:05Speaker 2: to go seniors. Hopefully you got something that you're cooking
- 21:09Speaker 2: that's real big in the coming year. We have the
- 21:13Speaker 2: Barry Farmers Market on Wednesday. The weather should be great
- 21:17Speaker 2: for that, starts up at three point thirty. Got the
- 21:21Speaker 2: food trucks rolling in at four o'clock. They'll serve up
- 21:25Speaker 2: the food until seven. And then the live music in
- 21:28Speaker 2: Curier Park starting in five thirty. That goes till seven.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Everything kind of wraps up around US seven. Of course,
- 21:35Speaker 2: you can stay later than that, Linda saying graduation for
- 21:39Speaker 2: Spaulding a Saturday. I might be thinking of the Career
- 21:46Speaker 2: Center now that I think of it, Linda, but thank
- 21:51Speaker 2: you for letting me know that. So what else is
- 21:55Speaker 2: happening this week? We're talking about Wednesday right Wing a
- 22:00Speaker 2: ding at the VFW Post seven to ninety and Barry. Thursday,
- 22:04Speaker 2: of course we got the Triple Crown series for the
- 22:06Speaker 2: Tigers running at thunder Road. Whether it should be perfect
- 22:09Speaker 2: for that. We also have on Thursday the next Children,
- 22:14Speaker 2: Youth and Family Steering Committee family gathering at the well
- 22:18Speaker 2: Space building in Barry. That's twenty three Summer Street, right
- 22:21Speaker 2: here near the studio. They do it every third Thursday
- 22:25Speaker 2: of the month. They being Washington County Mental Health and
- 22:29Speaker 2: it's from five until six thirty again free for everyone.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Anyone in our community can come to this and every
- 22:38Speaker 2: third Thursday every month they have a different topic. This
- 22:42Speaker 2: one on Thursday is going to be transition and employment planning,
- 22:45Speaker 2: which is so important. What's the right age to get
- 22:49Speaker 2: the ball rowland to get started? Who should be involved?
- 22:51Speaker 2: All that stuff? They have all the support you need
- 22:55Speaker 2: right there. Dinner is provided, that's free too. The kids
- 22:59Speaker 2: can run around and have fun at the Imagination Station
- 23:03Speaker 2: snoozelnd room where the parents are getting together and offering
- 23:07Speaker 2: support and information that is vital. So that's happening again Thursday,
- 23:14Speaker 2: five o'clock four seven nine four zero five five. And
- 23:17Speaker 2: thank you again. I'll give you that phone number here
- 23:20Speaker 2: in a second, thank you to Washington County Mental Health

- 23:34Speaker 2: you're coming four to seven nine four zero five five.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And if you prefer to join virtually you can do
- 23:40Speaker 2: that too. It's through Google Meet all right. Truly one
- 23:47Speaker 2: of our community's most important and critical resources for information
- 23:58Speaker 2: for families, don't miss it. All right, It's Thursday. This
- 24:01Speaker 2: coming Thursday Friday, as has said, the Cueachy Balloon Festival.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Hoping to get there, maybe going up in a balloon
- 24:10Speaker 2: with Aaron. I don't know. We'll see what happens. But again,
- 24:13Speaker 2: the weekend looks great weatherwise. At least, you know, today's
- 24:16Speaker 2: only Monday, but at least for now it looks good.
- 24:20Speaker 2: This coming Saturday, the VFW Post seven to ninety has
- 24:24Speaker 2: a breakfast that is served up. It is the third

- 24:54Speaker 2: He's very talented. Really. June twenty eighth is week from
- 25:00Speaker 2: this coming Saturday. It's gonna be a big event at
- 25:06Speaker 2: People's Academy. And I want to make sure that you
- 25:08Speaker 2: know about this. Have a look on Facebook, it's everywhere.
- 25:13Speaker 2: I'll be sharing up the link as well, the Facebook
- 25:17Speaker 2: event on the aired out page. There's a cancer walk
- 25:21Speaker 2: at People's Academy and Rusty Deweze is going to be
- 25:24Speaker 2: the keynote on this. He'll be up there talking and
- 25:29Speaker 2: probably doing some walking too, but he has a lot
- 25:32Speaker 2: to say about it, and I encourage you to get
- 25:37Speaker 2: involved with that. Saturday the twenty eighth. It's a little
- 25:41Speaker 2: ahead on the calendar, I know, but we're going to
- 25:43Speaker 2: be pushing it pretty hard here over the coming two weeks.
- 25:50Speaker 2: It was a great Central Vermont Carson Coffee car show
- 25:53Speaker 2: on Sunday, Father's Day yesterday very successful. We have the
- 26:03Speaker 2: Mountaineers playing with North Shore on Friday night, hoping to
- 26:10Speaker 2: get there. Been talking about it. Said to Sherilyn last night.
- 26:16Speaker 2: We are gonna fire up the truck and go catch
- 26:20Speaker 2: a Mountaineers game real soon, hopefully. I don't know. There's
- 26:23Speaker 2: so much jammed into this coming weekend. Oh, it's gonna
- 26:28Speaker 2: be a it's gonna be a busy one. So yeah,
- 26:34Speaker 2: should we close out this morning with with the little
- 26:38Speaker 2: daily dose that feel good? Why not? Really? Come on,
- 26:41Speaker 2: let's let's do it. I've got it right here. Don't worry.
- 26:47Speaker 2: There's a place on Long island that is making the
- 26:53Speaker 2: headlines this morning. It's called Peter's Clambar. And they just
- 26:59Speaker 2: celebrate rated National Lobster Day yesterday by releasing Isn't it
