  You know what? Like real life?

  Yeah. Yeah, life on Azeroth.

  I'm liking it. I'm liking it a lot.

  I wasn't expecting to get much goodies that I was gonna, that I
• 1:14
  was gonna be happy about. But you know, the radiant song
• 1:19
  isn't the only thing shining in Azeroth right now.

  Yeah, and we're we're gonna get into that more as we get into
• 1:27
  this episode. But I'm glad that this final
• 1:30
  content patch that is hit have wasn't as lackluster as I was
• 1:35
  worried it would be. But I have some thoughts.

  I have some thoughts. But before we get into that,
• 1:40
  how's the world of Azeroth been treating you this week?
• 1:46
  It isn't good. I got my faded raid pet, a pet,
• 1:51
  not a pet. It is not AI mean, it's a very
• 1:53
  big pet. My faded raid mount, which is
• 1:55
  very exciting. I will say that kind of took a
• 1:58
  little bit of the wind out of my sails for like working in World
• 2:01
  of Warcraft. Like now I'm kind of like, OK,
• 2:03
  well like that was what I really wanted to do with season four
• 2:06
  and it's done. And like I could do M Plus, but
• 2:09
  like all of the gear I get is going to be useless because
• 2:13
  we're going to be getting extra levels.
• 2:15
  So I'm currently in a a very excited holding pattern for when
• 2:20
  we get Panda Land. But I also I really liked the
• 2:24
  the quest that we got with the new patch and I'm.
• 2:27
  I also have quite a few thoughts.
• 2:28
  I'm I'm very excited and and very I'm I'm I'm tinfoil hatting
• 2:32
  with you Manny. I'm having a good time.
• 2:35
  But yeah no I'm I'm loving it. It's treating me wonderfully.
• 2:40
  OK well I I kind of want to pull on that thread you just sort of
• 2:44
  put out there you were talking about like hey like you've done
• 2:48
  your goal for the season you've got your mount you've defeated
• 2:51
  all the raids on the Awakened difficulty and and so like
• 2:59
  that's that's now you're beyond your goals you're not working
• 3:04
  towards anything the gear however quickly or slowly it
• 3:09
  comes you know you're all it's just going to be replaced as a
• 3:13
  matter of course through the levelling system.
• 3:18
  How did you feel that the gearing system in the season has
• 3:25
  been for you in general? Like, have you felt that, like
• 3:27
  it's really not be noticeable from a normal season or have the
• 3:31
  like Bullions and all of that like seemed like a godsend and
• 3:36
  change changed everything that you've been doing?
• 3:39
  So it's hard for me to judge because, like what I'm comparing
• 3:43
  it to was AOTC level rating. And what I did for season four
• 3:48
  was normal level rating. So my gut instinct is it's been
• 3:52
  insane. Like I every single time I log
• 3:54
  in, I get another 10 levels and pretty much every piece of gear
• 3:57
  like throws me out of the water. And even when I'm not doing
• 4:01
  anything exciting, I'm getting like, you know, multiple pieces
• 4:03
  of gear and just moving right along.
• 4:05
  So it's felt really good. It's felt like there's a lot of
• 4:08
  stuff being given to me that said if I had to push into an
• 4:14
  entirely other level of difficulty in rating, I would
• 4:19
  obviously still be gearing. And because I, I think I ended
• 4:23
  at like 485, something like that, which isn't, you know,
• 4:28
  shabby. And I do feel like I geared a
• 4:31
  lot faster than I usually do in a new season.
• 4:35
  But again, it's it's a little hard for me to feel 100%
• 4:39
  confident in that statement because I don't really know how
• 4:41
  to apples to apples that one. How about you, Manny?
• 4:44
  How are you feeling about it? Well like you I stepped down a
• 4:49
  level for a rating, so we're just doing our AOTC Claire's.
• 4:52
  We decided not to to go into Mythic.
• 4:56
  We've now defeated all the bosses, except actually the
• 5:01
  first week we we didn't get down.
• 5:04
  The last two bosses on Heroic might have been three but like
• 5:12
  you know we defeated them all normal.
• 5:14
  I've got the mount that's a little bit of wind out of my
• 5:16
  sails. I do want to still do Mythic
• 5:20
  Plus and get that Keystone Master, Keystone Hero and get
• 5:24
  the the the portals to all the dungeons because like I did it
• 5:30
  last season and I want to do it do it this season.
• 5:32
  So I still have some goals pushing me forward.
• 5:34
  So I haven't lost as much of my momentum as I would think that
• 5:37
  you have. But the gearing system for me, I
• 5:43
  I actually find it's too fast. I think that between like this
• 5:52
  week we got a quest for two bullions, which means there's
• 5:54
  another piece, the awakened gear that you get those, those sparks
• 6:02
  for and you can make with professions fills up.
• 6:06
  So it's become sort of a situation where, yeah, we're now
• 6:12
  like week three against heroic bosses, but there's a lot of
• 6:16
  slots where I'm looking at and saying like, no, I'm not going
• 6:20
  to get any upgrades regardless of the of the boss in there.
• 6:23
  And in fact, some of my raid team that's really been pushing
• 6:27
  Mythic Plus and other stuff, they just didn't have any drops
• 6:33
  that were desirable for them in Heroic rating.
• 6:39
  And I I I find that sad. I was in that position back in
• 6:44
  Battle for Azeroth, where went in and cleared normal week one,
• 6:50
  went into Heroic week week two, and by the time I'm going to
• 6:55
  Heroic Week 2, which was it for us, there's just so many pieces
• 6:59
  in my in my raid team that were just being handed off.

  Sorry, this isn't actually an upgrade.

  Can I can I hand it to you and that?
• 7:07
  And I hate when like a boss will like drop let's say three pieces
• 7:12
  of loot and two of those pieces are like going directly to Shard
• 7:16
  even though it's like the first time you've beat the boss.
• 7:20
  That seems really weird to me, and I think it's only gotten
• 7:26
  it's only gotten more aggressive as this loot that you can get
• 7:30
  from normal or from a world world thing can be upgraded to
• 7:37
  the point where what drops in the raid now needs to be
• 7:41
  upgraded itself in order for it to to actually compete.
• 7:44
  Or you're getting the stuff from bullions, which is upgradeable
• 7:50
  all 12 levels, you don't actually need to farm it again.
• 7:55
  And that means that the first, the first week when I grabbed my
• 7:59
  weapon or this week when, like, I got the the trinket, well,
• 8:04
  those pieces are just locked. I'm never going to to replace
• 8:08
  them because that's literally my best in slot that I was able to
• 8:14
  get without defeating the boss for it.
• 8:18
  Yeah. And so it's it's been weird for
• 8:20
  me. What do you think?

  Yeah I think that the World of Warcraft team has recently
• 8:25
  become very anti grinding, which is in concept something I agree
• 8:34
  with, right. I'm also honestly a very lazy
• 8:37
  World of Warcraft player And so if you're like all like all you
• 8:40
  have to do is raid log like and then other than that fill your
• 8:43
  time with whatever you want and it can be running around
• 8:46
  role-playing, it can be you know looking at Ungoro Crater like
• 8:50
  that. I I I'm not going to be, you
• 8:52
  know, devastated by that, but it's always felt weird to me
• 8:59
  because grinding is what MMM OS are built off of.
• 9:03
  And I think it's it's one of those things that every, like so
• 9:06
  many new MMM OS will say we want to be the MMO.
• 9:09
  That doesn't include grinding. And now World of Warcraft is
• 9:12
  also pushing heavily back against grinding.
• 9:17
  But part of the point of the grinding is like, that's what
• 9:21
  motivates you to, you know, like having those rewards that you
• 9:25
  need to work really hard for. That's what motivates you to log
• 9:27
  on. That's what motivates you to try
• 9:29
  new things. That's what motivates you to,
• 9:30
  like, do the stuff that you otherwise maybe wouldn't be
• 9:33
  doing. And again, I don't really feel
• 9:36
  like I can say with my chest that I'm unhappy about that.
• 9:40
  But it also does kind of mean that over the last few years I
• 9:44
  found myself more and more raid logging, which again, you know,
• 9:48
  like that means I have time for other video games.
• 9:50
  That means I have time to spend with friends.
• 9:52
  That means I'm not stressed about it as much.
• 9:55
  It it it's a very complicated vibe.
• 9:58
  And it's a very complicated thing for me to, like, turn over
• 10:02
  in my head that on the one hand, yeah, like you pull me off in
• 10:07
  the street with a TikTok interview and you're like, do
• 10:12
  you approve of video game grinding?
• 10:15
  And I'm going to be like, God, there were so many clips you
• 10:17
  could have made in that sentence that should not be posted
• 10:20
  online. But we're moving on past that,
• 10:23
  You know, you're like, do you want video games to include
• 10:26
  grinding? I'm like, no, obviously not.
• 10:27
  It's the worst thing. We all get bored of it.
• 10:29
  It sucks. It's terrible.
• 10:30
  Nobody likes grinding. But as World of Warcraft moves
• 10:34
  away from grinding, I do kind of find myself questioning what
• 10:40
  that means for an MMO. And when people say like we want
• 10:44
  World of Warcraft to not feel grindy, like, but that's World
• 10:49
  of Warcraft. Like that's the game.
• 10:51
  That's what you guys built. Yeah, I think it's AI think it's
• 10:56
  a question of not all grinds are bad grinds.

  There's too much of A grind. I had to work for this many
• 11:06
  hours and this many days and this many weeks to get two item
• 11:10
  levels. Come on, Blizzard.
• 11:12
  And then there is a fulfilling sense of a power progression.
• 11:18
  Like if you were to talk about your journey, this tear, and how
• 11:27
  man, at the beginning of this tear you were X item level and
• 11:32
  the piece that eluded you for so long was this this item and you
• 11:36
  finally got it, and man that helped you defeat this boss that
• 11:41
  was giving you trouble. I think that that sort of story
• 11:46
  is disappearing because the grind is also disappearing.
• 11:53
  I know that it is incredibly frustrating when you are up
• 11:59
  against the boss and it just does not seem doable.
• 12:03
  And I think that if you have the option to then go out and gain
• 12:11
  power some way, it doesn't necessarily need to be a
• 12:13
  repetitive grind, which I think are the what people always point
• 12:17
  to as the grind. But if it was, hey let's go do a
• 12:22
  quest like let's go on this quest and this quest unlocked
• 12:26
  this week and it gives you your double legendary like we had
• 12:30
  back at in the end of Shadow Lands or this is a quest that
• 12:34
  unlocks this level of your soul binds when we had borrowed power
• 12:40
  back in the day. And then that you come back and
• 12:43
  everybody's got that like bit more power that allows you to
• 12:47
  get through the boss. I think that that can be like a
• 12:54
  rewarding sense of power progression.
• 12:57
  The bots that like was giving you trouble you've now overcome
• 13:01
  through effort otherwise And so I think that maybe we've got to
• 13:09
  come up with a a different term for it like the grind is we'll
• 13:14
  consider the grind the bad word, the no, no experience that you
• 13:18
  should shouldn't deal with right?
• 13:20
  Parents tell your kids not to grind.
• 13:23
  We want proper power progression, so I gotta give you
• 13:28
  some clips too. Thank you.

  Yeah. No, I I agree.
• 13:33
  And I think what I most want to see with World of Warcraft is
• 13:39
  diversity of options, right? I think that one of the things
• 13:42
  that frustrated me earlier as a primarily Raider slash solo
• 13:46
  player is that it became very clear that if you want to do
• 13:50
  well, you have to do Mythic Plus.
• 13:52
  I do not want to do Mythic Plus. That feels bad, right?
• 13:56
  And I I do see that a lot with War Within, where they are
• 13:58
  giving us delves, they're giving us lower level mythics that
• 14:01
  don't have timers. They're giving us more options
• 14:05
  for how we can access that gear and I'd love to see them dive
• 14:09
  into that even more. And like how many different ways
• 14:11
  can we make it so that you can get to Max power, that allow
• 14:15
  people to play in a lot of different ways and allow for a
• 14:17
  lot of different game styles. The second thing that I really
• 14:20
  want to see more of, that I am seeing more of is bad luck
• 14:23
  protection, right? I think that even repetitive
• 14:27
  grinding, right? Even the like log on every hour
• 14:29
  to kill the boss lot. You know, do the daily on 10
• 14:33
  different alts so you can try to get the the mount, you know, do
• 14:37
  all of the the mythic pluses to get all the gear.
• 14:40
  The thing that really feels bad about those is when you end a
• 14:44
  week and you didn't get anything you wanted or you have five
• 14:50
  years of trying to get a mount in a holiday and you know you've
• 14:55
  logged on religiously and you still don't have it.
• 14:57
  Or you've been working on Trans Mog SAT from a raid and you you
• 15:02
  know do it every single reset and you still don't have it.
• 15:05
  And you've been doing that for ages.
• 15:07
  And I I am, you know, I think they they did a little bit of
• 15:09
  bad luck protection with the vault.
• 15:11
  They did bad. They're doing testing out.
• 15:12
  It seems like bad luck protection with some of the
• 15:15
  different drops of like if you do X thing, X number, you know
• 15:18
  with the the legendary, if you do this a certain number of
• 15:19
  times, you will absolutely get it.
• 15:22
  That is what I want to see from World of Warcraft the most.
• 15:25
  I want to make sure that my time on the game is what I want it to
• 15:30
  be and it's fruitful. And if you have those two
• 15:34
  things, I don't necessarily know that I want World of Warcraft to
• 15:41
  make me want to play it less. And I do think there's a line to
• 15:45
  walk, right. I remember especially like early
• 15:48
  World of Warcraft, like every other thing I read on the
• 15:53
  Internet with somebody being like I have not had a real
• 15:55
  conversation with my partner in the last six months because
• 15:59
  every single time he comes home he just plays World of Warcraft
• 16:01
  like I have. I I've seen how video game
• 16:06
  addiction at the level that it was, especially when this was
• 16:09
  new and especially when World of Warcraft was in that very early
• 16:12
  like heavy, heavy grind stage. I I think that that can be
• 16:15
  really devastating. And so I do think that I, I I
• 16:18
  appreciate that. It does sort of seem like the
• 16:19
  devs are seeing that and making it so that people don't feel as
• 16:24
  much like I have to log on every day for four hours.
• 16:27
  Otherwise I will not be able to find a rating Guild.
• 16:31
  But yeah, I I I want to feel like I want to play the game,
• 16:35
  right. I don't like when I log on and I
• 16:36
  stare at the screen for a couple seconds and I, like, fly around
• 16:39
  trying to think of what I could do to make my time worthwhile.
• 16:42
  And then I log off and I play another game.
• 16:44
  Like, that isn't really what I want for World of Warcraft
• 16:46
  either. That's sad.
• 16:48
  This is also the content, lol, right?
• 16:51
  This is what we are in for at this certain period.
• 16:55
  And I've also seen guilds get destroyed because they refuse to
• 16:58
  take a break and they're like, we're going to push through the
• 16:59
  lull, we're going to find ways, we're going to entertain
• 17:01
  ourselves. Everyone should be on every
• 17:02
  single raid night and then half the Guild drops out because I
• 17:05
  think these breaks are also important.
• 17:07
  So I think that it everything is nuanced.
• 17:09
  Unfortunately, everything. In moderation, including world
• 17:12
  of. Warcraft, supposedly.
• 17:14
  That's what they all say, I guess.
• 17:16
  If we must. It's a tool tip when you log in.

  Fair enough. That too.

  Clearly don't log in enough. I was like, wow, Manny, that's
• 17:23
  such a cool idea. Yeah, for.

  Sure. No, that's not, that's not my

  Yeah, I agree with you entirely. So I guess that brings us to

  what we've been doing this week. 10 point 2.7 has hit the servers

  and so we've gotten we've gotten we've got some new content and I

  I want to say that I like it but I want more but it's I think
• 17:56
  that this is the kind of content that I believe is rewarding that
• 18:01
  they should hire 100 people and get them to be doing this stuff
• 18:06
  and have it come out in kind of a staggered way.

  This week we had the non repeatable but definitely fun
• 18:19
  campaign of chasing down the Harbinger.
• 18:24
  And so, Lex, you got to play this.

  Oh yeah, it was. It was a little buggy.

  I I know some of you, those of you who follow us on Twitter may

  have seen that I was live tweeting, which is very fun.

  But it we we hit a couple of snafus, a couple snags, and in

  fact, I really want to go back in and try it again on my void
• 18:42
  elf, because I did notice a couple there.
• 18:45
  I only got like to the part. I'm assuming we're all talking
• 18:48
  about story, right, Manny? Go ahead, this is all live.
• 18:51
  People will have done this. If you have not done this,
• 18:55
  please skip ahead 10 minutes and then come back once you once
• 18:59
  you've played it. But.

  But then go play it, spend that 10 minutes playing it.

  It's really good. I I noticed before Alaria like
• 19:09
  opened the portal, there were already like references to me
• 19:12
  being a Void Elf, and there was a lot of little immersion bits
• 19:16
  that I thought were really cool and really fun.
• 19:20
  And I so I I want to play the whole thing on a Void Elf.
• 19:24
  I want to see how everybody reacts to me differently on a
• 19:27
  Void Elf, because I the only way for me to do the the game was to
• 19:31
  switch to my Demon Hunter. That unbugged it somehow.

  I thought it was fascinating. I thought it was really well
• 19:39
  done. I did feel like it was very
• 19:41
  immersive. I I have not.
• 19:44
  OK, this is embarrassing. I have not levelled a character
• 19:47
  from zero to 70 on any race, So I have actually, that's not
• 19:54
  true. I think I've done.
• 19:54
  I did an undead technically, but I'm Anyway, we're moving on.
• 19:57
  We don't need to hear my entire life story of how I make my
• 19:59
  house. So I didn't do the heritage
• 20:03
  quests myself for the the trolls and Dre and I.
• 20:06
  But I heard that it was very similar where there were a lot
• 20:08
  of like little immersive things, little flavour texts.
• 20:10
  I mentioned when I was playing the Harbinger quest that like if
• 20:14
  you run around the room in Dalaran you can hear people talk
• 20:18
  to each other and you have to run around to do that.
• 20:21
  Like you can't. If you just go head first to
• 20:24
  Elyria, you will miss some of them, which I thought was just,
• 20:30
  you know, I I was just complaining about World of
• 20:32
  Warcraft not making me want to play the game like it just made
• 20:34
  me want. I talked to every single voice
• 20:36
  off I met because I was like, Oh my God, like we're doing like
• 20:39
  everybody has something to say and everyone has a thought even
• 20:42
  if it's not written in like there was a lot of world built
• 20:45
  into it. And from what I've heard, that
• 20:46
  was very true in the heritage press as well.
• 20:48
  And I I had a great time. Yeah, no, I I can definitely say
• 20:53
  that was true in the heritage quest for for this quest, I was
• 20:58
  playing through it on my shaman, so I'm not a void elf.

  I went through. There were still like a bunch of
• 21:05
  things that like sort of as you're going through, you sort
• 21:07
  of turn your head and like, oh, what's that little thing that
• 21:09
  they're talking about there? And that sounds like that's
• 21:11
  going to be important later. And so it wasn't just a
• 21:15
  straightforward A to B, It was, hey, slow down a bit, take in
• 21:20
  everything that's happening in this moment, everything that's
• 21:23
  happening that isn't quite part of the beaten trail.
• 21:26
  And you're right, it rewarded you from going out there and
• 21:29
  checking all of these things. So I enjoyed that tremendously.

  I loved that this was sort of a catch up to like, hey, this is
• 21:38
  Alaria in a nutshell. So like, hey, if you haven't
• 21:41
  been introduced to it, this is her story when we're dealing
• 21:45
  with the memories and saying and like showing what was important
• 21:51
  to her. And then Locust Walker, which
• 21:54
  you and I talked about on the bonus episode where we're like,
• 21:58
  oh, Locust Walker's got to show up.
• 21:59
  That's the thing. Well, boom, here's Locust
• 22:02
  Walker. This is what he's up up to.
• 22:05
  He goes right to Hilaria and says, hey Ilaria and he's
• 22:08
  looking right past Hilaria. He's looking right at you, you,
• 22:11
  the audience, and saying your greatest fear is that you might
• 22:15
  harm your family. For all those people who may not
• 22:18
  have gotten that in the cinematic, which they've
• 22:20
  repeated again in in this, Well, congratulations.
• 22:24
  Blizzard has literally painted the box for you.

  Here's her greatest fear, Here's her background.

  Here's like the the worry of all these people who are dabbling in
• 22:37
  the void where we see one person go bad.

  Like they are setting so much of it up in this initial pre log
• 22:48
  quest that isn't even the pre expansion event.

  This is just we want to make the connection between Zalotaph and
• 22:55
  Ellaria show what might become of Azeroth that was also sort of
• 23:03
  preordained where it's like, Oh yeah, this radiant song.
• 23:07
  I can't tell you what it's like, but like, we had the same
• 23:10
  warning and it happened just before the world went all void,
• 23:14
  so I don't know why. That is so cool.
• 23:19
  That is not what I expected at all.
• 23:21
  Like, maybe everyone else saw this coming from a, like,
• 23:24
  obviously we knew that Voidy things were going to happen, but
• 23:26
  I felt like it was being set up so hard that, like, the Radiant
• 23:30
  song is something that these, you know, good light bearers are
• 23:34
  hearing and they're hearing Azaroth and this beautiful
• 23:37
  music. You know, when if you run around
• 23:39
  the the building, everyone is like, oh, I hear this and it
• 23:42
  feels like coming home, it just feels so good and Elaria doesn't
• 23:45
  hear that. And that's because Elaria is big
• 23:47
  and voidy and scary. And so when Locus Walker dropped
• 23:50
  that bomb, like, oh, this song, this is what happened before the
• 23:54
  entire world was ended for us. Like, I I was dying.
• 23:58
  I was like losing my entire mind.
• 24:00
  I am still to this day screaming eternally.
• 24:03
  That was a very clever little bait and switch again, maybe
• 24:06
  everyone else is like, oh, obviously that's what's going
• 24:08
  on. I did not expect that.
• 24:10
  And I'm and it's also like it's so spooky now because it's like
• 24:13
  how is the void managing to like what does that mean that
• 24:18
  everyone is hearing this anywhere but like I I.
• 24:21
  I take it to be the Radiant Song is like the light of the planet
• 24:27
  calling out before it's snuffed out by the void.
• 24:29
  So the Radiant Song is all is all like cheerful and bright and
• 24:33
  like, oh, this is good, but it. But really it's the planet
• 24:36
  screaming, being like, guys, we're in trouble 5:00, right?
• 24:42
  We're like 6 hours to midnight here.
• 24:45
  Get your butts and gear and everyone's like, oh, this is so
• 24:47
  cool, isn't it? Then it's over.
• 24:50
  And so without Void Walker being like, actually it's worse than
• 24:54
  you think, this is the coming of the void.
• 24:56
  And that's why she is now called Harbinger.
• 24:59
  It's fitting that is such a good way of putting the stakes.

  Immediately dial it up to 11. It doesn't matter that the
• 25:09
  Legion showed up on the doorstep multiple times.

  It doesn't matter that we've we've had how many cataclysmic
• 25:17
  sundering events. Never before has the actual
• 25:21
  planet said guys were in trouble, and that just sets the
• 25:26
  stakes to such a huge level. I think that is huge.

  In its mouth, sort of where it's like, hey, you want to know why

  this big bad is so bad? Well, it's because we've got

  this entire game called Warcraft Three that set it up here,

  right? That's why the Legion is bad.

  That's why Ilodin is bad. That's why Arthus is bad.

  Like, these are big, big names that we took an entire game to

  set up separately, and now they've gone through that
• 26:26
  catalogue we're now dealing with with like threats that they've

  sort of built up themselves. And so you have to, you have to

  question it. Like, even Warlords of Draynor,

  they went back to that nostalgia bomb to be like, hey, it's the

  Iron Horde, and they're like the biggest, baddest horde, but now

  unified. And like with goblin technology,

  they're bad. They're back and better than
• 26:51
  ever sort of stuff. So the real villains for World

  of Warcraft that they set up themselves have been things

  like. Honestly, I think.

  Really it's just Mr. Pandaria with Garage.

  I don't think World of Warcraft has had a uniquely World of

  Warcraft born villain before, before Garage and since then not

  I think did better as being a known quantity and like as they

  had brought the stakes down, felt a little bit more there.

  But the same time I felt Farak kind of was undersold.

  A bit like it felt like a ridicon, took a lot of his

  Thunder and then sort of left him with the pieces of You're

  Because Zalatath initially started as part of the Priest's

  Order Hall campaign in Legion, it wasn't initially accessible

  to a lot of players. Then they took time in BFA in a

  quest that you could actually miss.

  It wasn't like a mandatory main quest, but it was like a big
• 31:06
  focal point of the BFA storyline to reintroduce Zalatath somehow.

  She'd gotten away from the priest and the hero, regardless
• 31:15
  of what class Pick, finds the the Blade of Zalatath and then
• 31:20
  works with it in order to figure out what the Not A are up to.

  That leads into the raid Crucible of storms, right?

  And what happens is that Nazov frees Zalatath from the blade
• 31:36
  and is going to use the Blade for his own design, which to
• 31:40
  this day we don't know what that design was, but the history of
• 31:44
  Zalatath is that she was a lesser old God.

  She is not. She is not less an old God we
• 31:51
  were talking about. Oh, her, her ascend, ascending
• 31:53
  to old God's state. No, no, she was.

  She is already an old God. She's just a lesser old old God.

  The Big four, the smallest and weakest of which was.

  Nazov frees her and she decides she's leaving.

  So she leaves after partway through BFA and we don't hear

  from her her again until we have the dawn of the Infinite.

  And then that's when we have this Harbinger, which

  everybody's like, wait a second, that's Zalatath, that, like that

  elf figure that's connected with the Void.

  Immediately, people who were the Hawks about the lore made that

  connection. And now the game itself has made

  that full connection, saying that, yes, this Harbinger title

  is because she is ringing in the end.

  Guys, this is, this is closing time.

  She's coming to clean up your drinks, right.

  So beyond that, her role in the like Black Empire and why she

  was imprisoned in the Knife. Is.

  Somewhat lost to to time, but that's stuff that like you can

  bring in as you go through. But there's also been other

  stuff that they've done through various quests, right?

  The corrupted Irvin and I cannot pronounce their name.

  They're the cigar first, something like that.

  They're void dwarfs. That actually is something that

  has shown up previously in the World of Warcraft and has been a

  property of Zalatath, right? Even though the Curse of Flesh

  was Nazov's doing right, it's shown that Zaltath has her own

  version of corruption specifically with dwarves and
• 33:49
  now with with the earth. And as as we're starting to see

  in preview stuff for The War Within.

  So there's a lot of connections there.

  As we learn more about her, I think it's going to be good.

  And it actually brings me to a point that like I've come to

  over the course of like between episodes, because, you know, you

  you threw out your tinfoil hat and I was thinking about it.

  And I think that Zalatath should be a through line into the next

  expansion rather rather than having her removed from from
• 34:26
  play in this expansion. Even if she's like partially

  defeated and like they somebody else becomes like the focus

  point in Into Midnight. I believe that like this

  expansion is going to be very much like Zalatath focused and
• 34:45
  like what exactly the plans of the Void are to to go there so

  that when we move into midnight, which so feels 100% void.

  Yeah, pinnacle of danger, right? We need somebody to bring us

  into that and it's got to have to be either Zalatath or Alaria,

  that it it's the the whole point of these next three expansions

  is that they're building off of each other, right?

  Like they have the entire story and they are writing a cohesive

  story between the next three expansions that exists to tie up

  loose ends and to give us something in a in a package that

  feels complete and feels good when we're done with it.

  I think that Valatath is powerful enough and it also

  right like we we can't have war within and joyfully with we

  defeated the void and we're all going home and going to go tie

  So they're both within two parts, almost two districts of

  the same city, but one is the abandoned old city and one is

  the new new city built up. When you are going down into the

  the lower or lower city, it there's a lot of the old

  through the new city, it's actually kind of more of a

  bustling metropolis. Like it's kind of like Tazzavesh

  where it's like, oh, you're actually in a market and there

  are like little poster boards except that there are void

  manifestations that are showing, that are showing like the

  propaganda from the Queen and you help like some dissidents as

  scripted event thing that is cool and RP ish.
