- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on this week's episode of hip Hop Now podcast,
- 0:03Speaker 1: According to fifty Cent, his sophomore album, The Massacre was
- 0:07Speaker 1: very different from what was released. Skepta says that the
- 0:12Speaker 1: Drake and Kendrick battle is hurting business and hip hop
- 0:18Speaker 1: Twitter is officially dead. Yeah, I said it and I
- 0:24Speaker 1: don't care who got a problem with it. Let's do it.

- 1:29Speaker 1: hop days and be more. Shout out to be more again.

- 1:36Speaker 1: the road to one thousand subscribers and we are gaining ground,
- 1:43Speaker 1: but we are not there yet. We're close, but we're
- 1:46Speaker 1: not that close. We're around six fifty six sixty. I
- 1:51Speaker 1: may be short changing a little bit, and we made
- 1:55Speaker 1: up that ground and racket time, like you know this
- 1:58Speaker 1: this month of November alone, I had what post to
- 2:04Speaker 1: eighty thousand maybe seventy five thousand people check out the show,
- 2:11Speaker 1: check out the shorts, all of the content on the site.
- 2:16Speaker 1: But in order to grow two one thousand, I need
- 2:19Speaker 1: you who are watching, who are not subscribe to this podcast.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And maybe you just like the short top post right.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Maybe you like the fact that I go find hip
- 2:27Speaker 1: hop stuff and I post and put y'all cool. You
- 2:30Speaker 1: can subscribe for that reason. Maybe you like the weekly

- 2:41Speaker 1: in hip hop talking about history and hip hop with
- 2:44Speaker 1: the homy tone of Into the Dunt podcast. Subscribe for
- 2:48Speaker 1: that reason. And it's so much more to come. I
- 2:53Speaker 1: don't have to say pause for that, do I No, Yes,
- 2:56Speaker 1: I'm yankeed out with my hat on my head like
- 3:01Speaker 1: Memphis bleak. I'm from Brooklyn. What do you want? You
- 3:03Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I don't dress like this all
- 3:05Speaker 1: the time, but I'm just saying today I felt like
- 3:07Speaker 1: being that way. I'm a big sports fan. What do
- 3:09Speaker 1: you want? All right? But again, there's a lot of
- 3:13Speaker 1: content coming to the Channel, one in particular coming very soon.
- 3:17Speaker 1: I'm currently reading the book High and Rising by author
- 3:22Speaker 1: Marcus J. Moore, and it's about the history of Daylas Soul,
- 3:26Speaker 1: but it's the history of Daylas Soul paralleled with his
- 3:31Speaker 1: life as a hip hop fan, something similar to what
- 3:34Speaker 1: I've done with my book, even though my book it's
- 3:38Speaker 1: probably dwells more on me and hip hop as opposed
- 3:43Speaker 1: to me telling the story him telling the story of
- 3:47Speaker 1: Dayla Soul. And they're placing hip hop and how some
- 3:50Speaker 1: fans related to them, good, bad, or indifferent. It's very
- 3:55Speaker 1: interesting and I'm going to have an interview with the
- 3:58Speaker 1: author very soon to States for that and also for you,
- 4:03Speaker 1: just so we can get all dayled out on hip hop. Now,
- 4:07Speaker 1: I am going to do a tearless of Daylight albums
- 4:11Speaker 1: because guess what I ain't I haven't heard them all. Nope,
- 4:14Speaker 1: I've heard the ones Steaks Is High, three Feet High
- 4:18Speaker 1: and Rising day Le Sos Dead, you know, grind Date,
- 4:23Speaker 1: but I haven't heard all the albums. So what I'm
- 4:26Speaker 1: going to do, and I'm working my way through now, is,
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know, listen to all these albums again and then
- 4:32Speaker 1: I'm going to go and make a video say where
- 4:36Speaker 1: they ranked. And if you haven't watched me do those
- 4:38Speaker 1: things before, check them out. I got a couple. I
- 4:41Speaker 1: got Ray Kwan's Desography, ghost Face Jay and Nice Common
- 4:48Speaker 1: Snoop Dog Eminem. The list goes on and on and
- 4:53Speaker 1: the new one will be Daylight Soul coming up very soon.
- 4:56Speaker 1: So with that being said, big shout out to hip
- 5:00Speaker 1: HOPDX dot com. And we're gonna keep it short hip
- 5:05Speaker 1: hop Twitter because we're gonna talk about it later. Let's
- 5:09Speaker 1: get into it the same. So Fifty's done some recent
- 5:15Speaker 1: interviews and you know he I liked fifties interviews because
- 5:21Speaker 1: he gives the interview ers things that make it interesting,
- 5:28Speaker 1: like he's not always going to each interview and saying
- 5:32Speaker 1: the exact same thing and being completely measured in how
- 5:37Speaker 1: he answered. He typically if you ask him a certain question,
- 5:41Speaker 1: he'll probably just tell you what it is. You know
- 5:44Speaker 1: what I'm saying, because he doesn't seem every everything is imprecious.
- 5:49Speaker 1: But fifty Cent, some of it is content and intrigue,
- 5:53Speaker 1: and it's the reason why we're talking about it. But
- 5:55Speaker 1: in a recent interview, he said that the mass Psaca
- 6:00Speaker 1: was a different album from what we got and me
- 6:04Speaker 1: in particular, And I'll tell you my feelings on the Massacre.
- 6:07Speaker 1: This was interesting because I didn't like it at all.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I like songs, but I didn't like it at all.
- 6:13Speaker 1: But let's see what fifty said. This is on Hip
- 6:15Speaker 1: Hop dx dot com. Fifty Cent claims The Massacre was
- 6:19Speaker 1: originally a very different album, So let's see. Fifty Cent
- 6:26Speaker 1: has claimed that his second album, The Massacre, was originally
- 6:28Speaker 1: intended to be a very different be very different to
- 6:31Speaker 1: the version ultimately released. Speaking on stage at United Masters
- 6:35Speaker 1: Select car On fifth revealed that The Massacre underwent a
- 6:39Speaker 1: significant change after songs intended for the album were given
- 6:43Speaker 1: to the game and his his some quotes from it.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Fifty Cent says The Massacre was meant to be an
- 6:50Speaker 1: album about imperfections. Instead, it led to being a more
- 6:55Speaker 1: sexual album because he gave the original singles hated love
- 6:59Speaker 1: It and how we do to the game? Do you think,
- 7:04Speaker 1: and this is a question, do you guys think the
- 7:07Speaker 1: Massacre would have been a better received album? Here's fifty
- 7:11Speaker 1: saying and let's say if we can get it in
- 7:12Speaker 1: the microtefer nah nah na hold like, yeah, here's a
- 7:23Speaker 1: family show. Yeah, I can't be cussing, but truth be told,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I gave you the gist of what it is and
- 7:33Speaker 1: what he did. I totally agree with fifty cent. I
- 7:39Speaker 1: think if you take what's there, like what's the Joint?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Baltimore love Story and uh and a couple of the
- 7:48Speaker 1: songs that I actually did like on that album, and
- 7:51Speaker 1: you take off the songs that were like I didn't
- 7:54Speaker 1: like Candy Shop, but I got it. It was kind
- 7:56Speaker 1: of like trying to recapture a vibe that was in
- 8:00Speaker 1: the club. I don't think I would have minded as
- 8:03Speaker 1: much if there were more records. I liked about that album,
- 8:07Speaker 1: but I don't really like Games the documentary because of
- 8:11Speaker 1: all the name dropping. But I loved his songs with
- 8:15Speaker 1: fifty like I loved them Joints and if you take
- 8:19Speaker 1: them two songs and put it on there. I think
- 8:22Speaker 1: Ski met this Way was on hold on, let's just
- 8:25Speaker 1: get to the album so I could stop winging it
- 8:28Speaker 1: because we live in a time of technology where I
- 8:30Speaker 1: could just bring it up right now. I ain't gotta
- 8:32Speaker 1: go in the kitchen and yo, let me let me go.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I don't know when my CDs be in the kitchen,
- 8:36Speaker 1: but let me just go and get it. So the
- 8:38Speaker 1: Massacre of his sophomore album, his follow up to Get
- 8:41Speaker 1: Richard I Trian for those who don't know, was released
- 8:44Speaker 1: in two thousand and five. Right, songs like Piggy Bank,
- 8:51Speaker 1: which was a diss record, you know I liked it.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It was fun that Gatman and Robin with Eminem was
- 8:56Speaker 1: always whacked in me. Candy Shop was whatever. Ski mass Way,
- 9:00Speaker 1: the one I loved, a Baltimore love thing was dope.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But then he had songs like Disco Inferno. I think
- 9:06Speaker 1: my Toy Soldier was dope if I can remember, and
- 9:10Speaker 1: position of power. So the joints on this album, and
- 9:15Speaker 1: who knows what would have been taken off right, Like
- 9:19Speaker 1: you got a song called Disco Inferno that might not
- 9:23Speaker 1: even been on that album. The album probably would have
- 9:26Speaker 1: been way more focused and sometimes when you got to
- 9:29Speaker 1: make a shift because some of the content is like
- 9:35Speaker 1: like with nas and I Am, the biography, a good
- 9:39Speaker 1: portion of what that album was was leaked, so they
- 9:44Speaker 1: had to use songs to me that were lesser that
- 9:47Speaker 1: appeared on I Am and I Am is not really
- 9:49Speaker 1: a whack album, it's an okay album, but they were
- 9:53Speaker 1: better songs meant for that album. And Nasa Damis was
- 9:57Speaker 1: just like a train wreck to me. It was really
- 9:59Speaker 1: only two records on there, but they were better records
- 10:03Speaker 1: that leaked that they didn't put on an album. So
- 10:08Speaker 1: I would have to take fifty at his word of
- 10:12Speaker 1: his sophomore album would have been way better received had
- 10:15Speaker 1: it not only contained those hits, but he removed those
- 10:20Speaker 1: songs that gave it the more sexual joint. Right, Like
- 10:25Speaker 1: if he's saying if the second album was about imperfections
- 10:30Speaker 1: and then he had to make it more of a
- 10:31Speaker 1: sexual album, well then maybe Candy Shop is not even
- 10:35Speaker 1: on there, right because Candy Shop is clearly a sexual album,
- 10:40Speaker 1: I mean a sexual type song. So I mean history happened,
- 10:45Speaker 1: it happened the way it did. I wasn't big on
- 10:48Speaker 1: that album at all at the time. I know there's
- 10:51Speaker 1: some people who love it for what it is, but
- 10:54Speaker 1: it was such a nosedive from Get Richard Doe Trying.
- 10:59Speaker 1: See the different is for those who are quick to
- 11:01Speaker 1: think like, oh, I got it, sir, you just wanted
- 11:04Speaker 1: it to be that. No. Critical thinking skills is a
- 11:08Speaker 1: real thing. You probably don't know what it means. But
- 11:12Speaker 1: let me tell you, never did I expect his sophomore album.
- 11:18Speaker 1: That's impossible to meet. The success and the impact of
- 11:24Speaker 1: Get Richard Dye Trying That was lightning in a bottle.
- 11:27Speaker 1: No way he could do that again. He would be
- 11:30Speaker 1: one of the best ever to do that. No one
- 11:33Speaker 1: who's had well, he got the Stevie Wonder I'm saying
- 11:36Speaker 1: Stevie Wonder he did that about four or five times
- 11:39Speaker 1: in the seventies, but that's an anomaly fifty When you
- 11:46Speaker 1: think about those singles, those singles were huge for the game.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Those would have did way more for his follow up
- 11:55Speaker 1: than what we got right, especially if the tone is
- 11:59Speaker 1: about imperfections instead of the cheesy as what we do
- 12:04Speaker 1: the Gandi job. I kind of like that beat ain't
- 12:06Speaker 1: on front, you know, And I was in the club
- 12:08Speaker 1: still a little bit back then, So it is what
- 12:11Speaker 1: it is it happened, but who knows? We got what
- 12:14Speaker 1: we got next since I changed all kinds of pages
- 12:19Speaker 1: and stuff. So I promise y'all. Anytime I see Drake
- 12:25Speaker 1: versus Kendrick in anybody's video, title, news story, whatever, I
- 12:31Speaker 1: don't care. If it's the smallest thing, I'm out. I'm
- 12:35Speaker 1: out fan because the time to be buried in that
- 12:41Speaker 1: battle was months ago. The last song, the last call
- 12:46Speaker 1: for alcohol was not like us. It just was. So
- 12:51Speaker 1: now we're on the other side of it, right, No
- 12:54Speaker 1: round tubes, none of that. It happened. You know, it's crazy.
- 13:00Speaker 1: But there's going to be awards for the song. There's
- 13:02Speaker 1: going to be the super Bowl. Maybe Kendrake doesn't even
- 13:06Speaker 1: do anything Drake wise, and at that point I don't
- 13:08Speaker 1: think he should. You'll be approaching a year of this, right,
- 13:12Speaker 1: I don't want to go down that road again, and
- 13:14Speaker 1: it needed does the ovihost. But Skepta, who I'm not
- 13:21Speaker 1: necessarily a fan of, not because I don't like him,
- 13:25Speaker 1: It's just because I don't really check for his music.
- 13:28Speaker 1: But he's worked with Drake and I've liked what, you know,
- 13:32Speaker 1: what they've done. He did an interview recently. I believe
- 13:37Speaker 1: with Ebro talking about how the Drake and Kendrick battle
- 13:42Speaker 1: was bad for business, and he specifically pointed out what
- 13:49Speaker 1: Kendrick was saying being bad for business, not what Drake
- 13:54Speaker 1: was saying. Now whe Drake started saying it was bad
- 13:58Speaker 1: for business, right, let me see if I could find
- 14:01Speaker 1: a quote when I was clashing. We never had nothing
- 14:04Speaker 1: to lose. You can call me anything in the world.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lose a Nike deal. I'm not gonna
- 14:11Speaker 1: I'm not gonna not be able to put food on
- 14:13Speaker 1: my table. That'll probably get me even more money because
- 14:17Speaker 1: we'll go to the show and do the class on stage,
- 14:20Speaker 1: and more people are paying. It's helping us. What they're
- 14:24Speaker 1: doing is hurting what we've built, is hurting what we've
- 14:28Speaker 1: all built this whole time. If you two don't like
- 14:33Speaker 1: each other, just link up and just talk, or just
- 14:36Speaker 1: don't speak to each other. But all the stuff you're
- 14:38Speaker 1: saying to each other for the rest of everyone else's
- 14:42Speaker 1: everyone else who's waiting in line for the doors that
- 14:46Speaker 1: you've kicked open. These doors are shutting on us right now. Bro,
- 14:50Speaker 1: We're looking crazy out here. That's why I didn't like that.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It was good until it sounded crazy. I don't disagree
- 14:59Speaker 1: with him in a general sense. If it's about business
- 15:07Speaker 1: and entertainment and a friendly fade, remember that phrase, then
- 15:14Speaker 1: it's all good. Right, that's what you tell That's what
- 15:19Speaker 1: you tell, Nike, Hey, battling is a part of hip hop.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Me and these guys are the two biggest artists. We
- 15:26Speaker 1: have agreed businesswise to spar each other to see who's
- 15:31Speaker 1: the best. Spa competitive because that's what hip hop is.
- 15:35Speaker 1: That's what's at the core of hip hop. I don't
- 15:37Speaker 1: disagree with any of that. But the minute in Kendrick Warndon,
- 15:44Speaker 1: the minute Drake started saying Andrew's wife name, you know,
- 15:51Speaker 1: accusing him of abusing her and not being together and
- 15:54Speaker 1: saying his son is that? All these little things and
- 15:57Speaker 1: some of it came later as a response, but Drake
- 16:02Speaker 1: was the one that took it to the personals. Now,
- 16:05Speaker 1: if you watch battle rap, right, you can see two
- 16:09Speaker 1: battlers who you know, two battle rappers who are displaying skill,
- 16:14Speaker 1: and that's how they are competing. Right, I'm just better
- 16:19Speaker 1: at this than you are. And then there are the
- 16:21Speaker 1: battle raps where it's personal. Your pops is a snitch,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I got the paperwork. But it's fair game for battle rap,
- 16:32Speaker 1: battling and hip hop. It's greed upon to take personals.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Sometimes it's expected depending on the opponent, like, Yo, he
- 16:40Speaker 1: might go personal, so I got this for him. Your
- 16:43Speaker 1: baby Moms was in the okay, but those are battle
- 16:48Speaker 1: rappers and maybe some of them don't have naked deals.
- 16:52Speaker 1: But the biggest star in the battle was the one
- 16:56Speaker 1: who started the personals. And Kendrick said on Euphoria, don't
- 17:02Speaker 1: tell no lies about me, won't tell no troops about you, right,
- 17:09Speaker 1: he said. We tried to keep it a family fade,
- 17:11Speaker 1: a family fait, a friendly fade, but you mentioned my
- 17:15Speaker 1: family's name, so skeptic, where were you when the homie
- 17:22Speaker 1: was was going there, when the homie was using Pox's voice,
- 17:27Speaker 1: and Pax of State had to say, hey, yo, what
- 17:30Speaker 1: you're doing fair? You think we're gonna let you disrespect
- 17:33Speaker 1: Parkning like it was Drake doing that. So just because
- 17:41Speaker 1: you wound up in the loser's bracket, it can't be
- 17:44Speaker 1: about business now because guess what, Kendrick ain't losing no business.
- 17:52Speaker 1: So how was the battle a bad thing? The battle
- 17:56Speaker 1: is bad for Drake because it pointed out who he
- 18:00Speaker 1: was as a person. That's the problem, a lifelong battle
- 18:06Speaker 1: with yourself. These bars from Kendrick don't have to be
- 18:10Speaker 1: mind blowing. What makes a mind blowing is they're true.
- 18:15Speaker 1: That's how he lost. To push your tea while you
- 18:18Speaker 1: hid in that boy, we all was like what what boy?
- 18:22Speaker 1: Oh he got uh he has a son, right and
- 18:27Speaker 1: then now he is oh, happy birthday son, blah blah
- 18:29Speaker 1: bh like, yeah, thank you, push your tea. Border Patrol
- 18:33Speaker 1: has lifted the sanctions, so sure you can come through
- 18:36Speaker 1: in spensive times with his box. Okay, So the sore
- 18:41Speaker 1: loserness fans, I get it. You love an artist. I
- 18:45Speaker 1: feel you, man, you don't want to see him lose.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Even if they lose. You know they lose, you lost.
- 18:50Speaker 1: You don't even care. When Mike Tastle got knocked out
- 18:52Speaker 1: for the first time, man, I was coming up with
- 18:54Speaker 1: all excuses, even though there was a ten count when
- 18:57Speaker 1: he not that ain't no excuse. Go watch it. Ten
- 19:00Speaker 1: count busin Douglas was down for ten they let him out.
- 19:05Speaker 1: But guess what. Mike Tyson lost anyway, So it doesn't
- 19:10Speaker 1: matter if the ref missed a holden call. It's almost
- 19:15Speaker 1: a part of the sport, and then when you start
- 19:19Speaker 1: the personals, well, you're allowing the other person to get personal.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And if you didn't want to be seen in that light,
- 19:30Speaker 1: you shouldn't be out here battling. You shouldn't be out
- 19:32Speaker 1: here pumping your chest. Yo. You shouldn't be out here
- 19:35Speaker 1: looking for dirt on other people when your dirt is
- 19:38Speaker 1: so easy to track down. Drake made it bad for business.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You're losing money and deals because of him. Drake was
- 19:51Speaker 1: supposed to ignore Kendrick the dog. I'm so successful, I
- 19:55Speaker 1: don't see you. But to Drake's credit, he is a
- 20:01Speaker 1: hip hop fan, right, and he ain't ducked no battles,
- 20:07Speaker 1: so he was witted. So if he was witted enough
- 20:10Speaker 1: and confident enough to engage and engage in a way
- 20:14Speaker 1: he did early, then you can't be now. You can't
- 20:19Speaker 1: be mad now that it didn't really turn out in
- 20:22Speaker 1: your favor. This is this is historical. I'm not historical,
- 20:27Speaker 1: but these are things that happen throughout the history of
- 20:30Speaker 1: hip hop where there's somebody who's a presumed king and
- 20:34Speaker 1: they get dethroned, whether it's naturally through you know, people
- 20:39Speaker 1: just don't like their music no more. Now they're like
- 20:41Speaker 1: this person, or you know your rival, like fifty cent
- 20:46Speaker 1: and jar Ru fifty making ja Ru look like he's
- 20:51Speaker 1: a corny dude, when people like ja Ru before fifty cent, right,
- 20:56Speaker 1: or in cases where fifty cent thought he could do
- 20:58Speaker 1: it to any rapper. And Rick Ross was a teflon dog.
- 21:02Speaker 1: He had his biggest hits when fifty cent was like
- 21:06Speaker 1: Officer Ricky, people didn't care. So if you're gonna play
- 21:11Speaker 1: the game of chess, you better be good at it.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You can't be overconfident. You have to be smart. And
- 21:19Speaker 1: it's terrible to blame not just Kendrick, but to blame
- 21:24Speaker 1: the battle on that because the rules were set friendly fade,
- 21:31Speaker 1: but then somebody wanted to turn it into more than that.
- 21:34Speaker 1: And now here we are, and he's up here with
- 21:37Speaker 1: the duck lips and forty grown men with the same
- 21:41Speaker 1: Oviho hoodie in the mall. Trying to look tough is
- 21:46Speaker 1: not gonna make us feel like he won that battle.
- 21:48Speaker 1: And all those things didn't happen. And more importantly, you
- 21:52Speaker 1: never addressed being a pedophile, because you addressed it in
- 21:55Speaker 1: one way and it was bad. Never say if I
- 21:59Speaker 1: was a bet, why ain't had us, Oh, well, maybe
- 22:04Speaker 1: we need to seize your computers Jack if he was right.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So again, I thought it was interesting to talk about
- 22:13Speaker 1: because at least Skeptic was coming from a different place
- 22:18Speaker 1: with it. Right. He was just saying he don't like
- 22:22Speaker 1: none of it. But if you watch the video, his
- 22:26Speaker 1: examples of not liking and no pun intended. Was not
- 22:30Speaker 1: like us, but his examples of not liking it come
- 22:34Speaker 1: from him thinking. Kendrick was saying some things. That's messing
- 22:39Speaker 1: up the money. But yo, you messy or you not
- 22:44Speaker 1: right what you're doing? Ken, you don't say anything. There's
- 22:50Speaker 1: videos of Drake being really weird with minors. So not
- 22:57Speaker 1: his son, but you know what I'm talking about. Go
- 23:00Speaker 1: watch some of the videos. And I don't want to
- 23:01Speaker 1: hear nothing. Oh he was young, now he was on stage. No,
- 23:03Speaker 1: he was a man. So there you have it. What
- 23:08Speaker 1: do you think about what Skeptic had said? Obviously I
- 23:11Speaker 1: read some of his quotes, but go watch the video.
- 23:13Speaker 1: See what he's saying. Look at his body language. Ebro
- 23:16Speaker 1: was kind of doing the chameleon stuff. I could tell
- 23:18Speaker 1: he kind of wanted to go there, but didn't I
- 23:21Speaker 1: get it. But again, if if you're you should always
- 23:25Speaker 1: be concerned about business. Make those decisions beforehand, not after,
- 23:31Speaker 1: because like I said, business looks like maybe it's bad
- 23:35Speaker 1: for you guys, but businesses looking like it's very good
- 23:40Speaker 1: for Kendrick Lamar. And that's saying a lot. It's not
- 23:44Speaker 1: the battle, it's the boy. And lastly, so I know
- 23:51Speaker 1: we'dn't been down this road several times some of y'all
- 23:54Speaker 1: who listen or not even on Twitter, so you could
- 23:57Speaker 1: care less. Some of y'all call it some of y'all
- 24:01Speaker 1: still call it Twitter. I have been a part of
- 24:06Speaker 1: the Twitter social media platform since probably either two thousand
- 24:12Speaker 1: and eight or two thousand and nine, right. I was
- 24:15Speaker 1: an early adopter. And one of the things I liked
- 24:18Speaker 1: about it over Facebook because Facebook was it back then,
- 24:23Speaker 1: you know, Instagram was still more so like a Flicker competitor.
- 24:28Speaker 1: What it was about photography, and that was part of
- 24:30Speaker 1: the reason why I joined originally because I like to
- 24:33Speaker 1: take pictures. Then it changed into something else, but like
- 24:37Speaker 1: Twitter changed into something else. But my early days when
- 24:41Speaker 1: I had a you know, I had like what seventy
- 24:43Speaker 1: something followers, what I liked about it was I would
- 24:49Speaker 1: go there and tweet while sporting events were on, and
- 24:53Speaker 1: I noticed there were other people like me who I
- 24:56Speaker 1: became friends with online, some of which I met in person,
- 25:01Speaker 1: tweeting about sports and what I liked more than that.
- 25:05Speaker 1: It wasn't just oh, you know, they tweet when the
- 25:08Speaker 1: football's game is on like I do, right, No, they
- 25:11Speaker 1: would tweeting footballs on, they would tweet when basketballs on.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Some of them are watching boxing, And it was a
- 25:18Speaker 1: way for me to have a timeline to kind of
- 25:21Speaker 1: have access to other sports fans, but also sports news. Eventually,
- 25:27Speaker 1: and as time progressed, and especially as I started to
- 25:31Speaker 1: do the podcasting part because I had a blog around
- 25:36Speaker 1: that time, but especially when I got heavy on the
- 25:38Speaker 1: podcasting and started appearing on other people's podcasts, then more
- 25:43Speaker 1: of the hip hop people would find me right on Twitter.
- 25:47Speaker 1: So now my feed became this mix of hip hop
- 25:51Speaker 1: and Twitter right and I would comment and share and
- 25:54Speaker 1: do stuff about both because those were my biggest interests,
- 25:59Speaker 1: rights and sports. Sometimes I kid you not, I'm a
- 26:04Speaker 1: bigger sports fan than I'm a music fan, but I'm
- 26:07Speaker 1: equally crazy about both, and so that was pretty cool
- 26:11Speaker 1: to kind of have a timeline. You know, all my
- 26:14Speaker 1: interests are there and as changes started before Elon Musk
- 26:18Speaker 1: took it over, I found like I needed with Facebook
- 26:23Speaker 1: al so I need to pay attention to the terms
- 26:27Speaker 1: of usage for these apps and really the settings so
- 26:32Speaker 1: I could keep that experience that I had. So they was.
- 26:35Speaker 1: You know, I didn't make a business of blocking a
- 26:38Speaker 1: bunch of people. I really didn't block anybody except for
- 26:40Speaker 1: one person, and he's going to be the president. But
- 26:45Speaker 1: it wasn't really about me, like hateing that guy, so
- 26:48Speaker 1: I don't want to see him. I just wanted my
- 26:51Speaker 1: timeline to remain pure. I wanted it to only have
- 26:54Speaker 1: my interests. The only reason why I'm here. I go
- 26:58Speaker 1: to other places for policy. I go to other places
- 27:02Speaker 1: to look at a bunch of cars, or if I
- 27:04Speaker 1: want to look at some puppies, I might watch a
- 27:08Speaker 1: video or whatever. But I wanted my timeline to remain
- 27:11Speaker 1: hip hop in sports, and I would tweak my settence
- 27:15Speaker 1: every time they would make a change and I'm seeing
- 27:17Speaker 1: things I don't want to see, I would tweak it.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Even the ads. This ad is popping up and it's
- 27:22Speaker 1: annoying and it's nothing that I would even want to
- 27:24Speaker 1: scroll pass. I'll block that ad. So I'm constantly, you know,
- 27:31Speaker 1: curating my timeline with the people I follow, keeping things
- 27:35Speaker 1: that they may like that I don't like off my page.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Like you know, if you like to see people cooking
- 27:42Speaker 1: dogs because you think it's crazy that people eat dogs,
- 27:45Speaker 1: that's cool, but I don't want to see that. Fan.
- 27:48Speaker 1: If you like watching fights all the time, you know
- 27:50Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I might look at one quick fight,
- 27:54Speaker 1: like two bums or whatever, but I don't want to
- 27:55Speaker 1: see that all the time. If you like staring at
- 27:58Speaker 1: bbls all the time, I might look too, but I
- 28:01Speaker 1: don't want to see it all the time. I want
- 28:03Speaker 1: to open my feed on any platform and see the
- 28:07Speaker 1: things that most interest me, and they're like video games
- 28:11Speaker 1: and sports and music and hip hop. So I said
- 28:16Speaker 1: all I have to say. When it came to hip
- 28:20Speaker 1: hop you know, there was a thing that was hip
- 28:22Speaker 1: hop Twitter. I even did a podcast called hip Hop
- 28:26Speaker 1: Twitter about hot takes that other people would see that
- 28:30Speaker 1: I didn't see because I was spending less time on
- 28:33Speaker 1: Twitter because of how toxic it had become right before
- 28:38Speaker 1: Elon Musk. But then when Elon Musk boughted some of
- 28:43Speaker 1: his views about things and some of the things he
- 28:46Speaker 1: was willing to change. Started to bother me a little bit,
- 28:50Speaker 1: but not enough to leave. I've been there since oh nine,
- 28:54Speaker 1: It's tough to leave, right. But then when he decided
- 29:00Speaker 1: the people who you have blocked and I only have
- 29:03Speaker 1: one person blocked, But the people you have blocked can
- 29:07Speaker 1: still see your tweets, and you can still see theirs
- 29:11Speaker 1: whether you want to or not, as a part of
- 29:13Speaker 1: your timeline and your feed. It just told me, oh,
- 29:17Speaker 1: you're gonna make sure you force us to see these things,
- 29:23Speaker 1: these messages. You don't want a ton of people on
- 29:28Speaker 1: your platform blocking Donald Trump blocking his followers, right, And
- 29:33Speaker 1: you try to say that for everybody. Oh well, toxic
- 29:36Speaker 1: guy over here, you don't want to be blocked either, right,
- 29:40Speaker 1: So to me, just like, okay, well now is I
- 29:43Speaker 1: was already doing too much work to curate my timeline.
- 29:46Speaker 1: This is too much work. I just want to be
- 29:49Speaker 1: around like minded people who like some of the same things,
- 29:51Speaker 1: who start conversations, who put me onto things. I put
- 29:55Speaker 1: them onto things and hip hop Twitter was deaf good
- 30:01Speaker 1: for that. It was definitely good for debating and hot
- 30:05Speaker 1: takes and top tens and what you would and what
- 30:08Speaker 1: you wouldn't do. And I deactivated it, you know why,
- 30:14Speaker 1: because it's just out of control and there's no reason
- 30:18Speaker 1: for me to even hang around because it's not an
- 30:21Speaker 1: experience that I'm enjoying the way I used to. I
- 30:25Speaker 1: almost WinCE as I open it up. And even the
- 30:29Speaker 1: self righteous people who believe like not me because I'm
- 30:33Speaker 1: such and such, they've left Twitter before and they've come
- 30:37Speaker 1: right back right because there's something about the toxicness they like.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I give props to the people who like I like
- 30:44Speaker 1: it around here wild and crazy, and I be getting
- 30:47Speaker 1: crazy too. I'm not talking about them because they could
- 30:51Speaker 1: do what they want. Anybody could do what they want.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I don't feel like hip hop Twitter was a bad thing.
- 31:02Speaker 1: I just felt like there was. It became less organic,
- 31:07Speaker 1: right The beefs became less organic, the interactions became less organic.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Some people are just looking to say a hot take
- 31:18Speaker 1: just so they can go back and forth with you.
- 31:21Speaker 1: They may not even care about what they said, they
- 31:23Speaker 1: may not even know enough to even say what they're saying,
- 31:26Speaker 1: but that's not their goal. Their goal is to have
- 31:29Speaker 1: a negative exchange with you, and they don't care if
- 31:33Speaker 1: they're the bad guy in it. Because all of it
- 31:36Speaker 1: leads to some form of engagement. Some people are married
- 31:39Speaker 1: to the amount of followers they have, so they don't
- 31:42Speaker 1: care what's happening, you know whatever, They'll pay for the check,
- 31:46Speaker 1: they'll do everything. So I look at it this way.
- 31:51Speaker 1: My choice was my choice, and it was a personal choice.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It wasn't a choice that anybody could see unless I
- 31:58Speaker 1: told them. I like my time line to look a
- 32:00Speaker 1: certain way, and we were losing controls to do that.
- 32:06Speaker 1: So therefore I'm on other platforms as Vegas World, I inc.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I don't need this one anymore. And it was tough.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I've been here a very long time, so I deactivated
- 32:18Speaker 1: my Twitter, but deactivating like those who know who deactivated
- 32:24Speaker 1: Facebook for some of the same reasons. It's still there,
- 32:29Speaker 1: it's just no one can see it and you can't tweet.
- 32:32Speaker 1: But if I was to go and log in and
- 32:34Speaker 1: and say, hey, welcome back, would you like to reactivate
- 32:37Speaker 1: your account? I could do it tomorrow and it'd be
- 32:40Speaker 1: like I never left. But at the end of the day,
- 32:43Speaker 1: I'm not that invested in those experiences to not just
- 32:48Speaker 1: go somewhere else where I'm having more fun, or it's
- 32:53Speaker 1: more of what I want to see, you know what,
- 32:55Speaker 1: I'm saying on my timeline and less of you know,
- 32:59Speaker 1: crazy takes and and you know in political sparring and
- 33:04Speaker 1: battle and stuff like that, when I just really want
- 33:06Speaker 1: the information, like what album is that? Oh that's cool?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Oh you think Ready Dow was? Why you think that?
- 33:13Speaker 1: I just wanted to be a discussion, right, And I'm
- 33:15Speaker 1: not saying that it can't happen on Twitter. It just
- 33:18Speaker 1: won't happen with me on Twitter. So some people will say, well,
- 33:22Speaker 1: where are you, Well, I'm where I've always been in
- 33:24Speaker 1: other places. I follow technology, So I've been on a
- 33:28Speaker 1: lot of the platforms people are going to. Of course,
- 33:32Speaker 1: I'm on threads because I'm on Instagram, right. Instagram is
- 33:35Speaker 1: probably one of the other places where I post frequently
- 33:39Speaker 1: and I talk to people. I'm on TikTok, right, I
- 33:44Speaker 1: respond to stuff on there, but I kind of just
- 33:47Speaker 1: post there. And Blue Sky is the error parent to
- 33:53Speaker 1: the Twitter of old, where a lot of people are
- 33:56Speaker 1: I'll tell you this much, I've been there. When they
- 34:00Speaker 1: reached ten million subscribers, they gave every user like an
- 34:07Speaker 1: image of what number they were when they joined Blue Sky,
- 34:13Speaker 1: and then that was when they did the first ten million.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I was like sixteen thousand or something like that. So
- 34:19Speaker 1: I was there early. I was there before you can
- 34:21Speaker 1: even post videos. You can even post videos on there,
- 34:25Speaker 1: and it was invite only. But at the end of
- 34:29Speaker 1: the day, what I liked about Blue Sky was it
- 34:32Speaker 1: kind of felt like Twitter. It just didn't have all
- 34:35Speaker 1: the relationships I had built on the Twitter platform. Well,
- 34:40Speaker 1: now everybody's coming over the Blue Sky and my timeline
- 34:43Speaker 1: is totally different. It reminds me a lot of what
- 34:46Speaker 1: it was like when I first was on Twitter. So
- 34:49Speaker 1: I'm not here to battle with you and tell you
- 34:52Speaker 1: why and what and we people can leave, come go,
- 34:56Speaker 1: keep going back whatever. We don't care. Righteous online guy.
- 35:01Speaker 1: If you don't like it, get off all of it.
- 35:05Speaker 1: But this is the world we live in. It just is.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I know people who ain't on nothing. They're like, what,
- 35:15Speaker 1: that's why I'm not on that. OK. They ain't on nothing.
- 35:18Speaker 1: They standing on business, They're not in the building, talk
- 35:22Speaker 1: about y'all. This should be better than here. Get out then,
- 35:26Speaker 1: like I did, didn't really like what it was. I'm like,
- 35:29Speaker 1: what am I waiting for? Bye bye? The end. So,
- 35:34Speaker 1: of course, content is everywhere. I'm right here on YouTube,
- 35:37Speaker 1: I'm on podcasting feeds. I'm on Instagram, I'm on Facebook, TikTok,
- 35:44Speaker 1: threads and all of that. But if you are like, yeah,
- 35:48Speaker 1: but where do you really be? Like? I know you post,
- 35:51Speaker 1: but where do you really be? Blue Sky and Instagram?
- 35:57Speaker 1: What do you feel about all this Twitter fiasco? People
- 36:01Speaker 1: leaving them? Getting one million new subscribers in like two
- 36:07Speaker 1: days is something crazy? Did you leave Twitter? Are you
- 36:11Speaker 1: on Blue Sky? Do you like threads? Are you on
- 36:15Speaker 1: ig or? Do you hang out in the dark wab
- 36:18Speaker 1: because you're creeping person? I don't know, but leave your
- 36:21Speaker 1: comments in a comments section below. Boss. That's what I
- 36:26Speaker 1: do it for me. You can follow me on all platforms,
- 36:28Speaker 1: same tag, Biggest World. I n c subscribe to the
- 36:31Speaker 1: podcast and audio form, review it on Apple Podcasts. And

- 36:55Speaker 1: share it with people you know enjoy this kind of
- 36:58Speaker 1: content until next y'all. I'm not a critic I'm just
- 37:02Speaker 1: a fan, Peace
