Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is made.
- 0:04Speaker 2: And welcome to another episode of Scotty and Abbey Unfiltered. Now,
- 0:08Speaker 2: we're going to do a special episode at our live show,
- 0:10Speaker 2: and one of the things we obviously want to run
- 0:12Speaker 2: by you with the podcast are these questions appropriate for
- 0:15Speaker 2: the people that we put into the hot seat for
- 0:18Speaker 2: our live show.
- 0:19Speaker 1: What I like about it is it's going to be
- 0:20Speaker 1: the hot seat for the people we're interviewing, but also
- 0:22Speaker 1: for us.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's going to really directly impact us based
- 0:25Speaker 2: off of the questions that we asked.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna make questions for Scotty to ask his girlfriend,
- 0:30Speaker 1: and Scotty's gonna give me questions to ask my mom.
- 0:33Speaker 3: That's so funny, Oh my gosh.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I also like, as I was thinking about this, what's
- 0:37Speaker 2: tough is I don't know how far to push you
- 0:39Speaker 2: when it comes to questions with your mom because I'm like, hmm,
- 0:43Speaker 2: where's the line? And I think that might be the
- 0:45Speaker 2: same when it comes to like me and Brionda. I'm like,
- 0:47Speaker 2: where's the line.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Well, I'm not going to do anything to embarrass Brianda,
- 0:51Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like like a question I
- 0:54Speaker 1: could ask or I could get and I'll just give you.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Maybe one is has Like I could ask, girl, has
- 1:00Speaker 1: anything that you've done given her the itck yet? But
- 1:03Speaker 1: you already kind of know that. Oh that's true, but
- 1:05Speaker 1: it might be funny to hear it from her POV.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Absolutely, you know what I mean?
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and you could give my mom a question like
- 1:10Speaker 1: what's the weirdest habit Abby had growing up? All?
- 1:13Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, we could definitely dive into the childhood stuff too,
- 1:16Speaker 2: especially here's.
- 1:17Speaker 1: What we'll do. But don't be like, so what are
- 1:18Speaker 1: you and Abby talking about in therapy? You know what
- 1:20Speaker 1: I mean?
- 1:21Speaker 3: Maybe I would never do that.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Maybe yeah, maybe stair away from like you're with her,
- 1:26Speaker 2: but like, haha, laughed funny, but oh my god, I
- 1:29Speaker 2: wasn't expecting him.
- 1:30Speaker 1: To ask that.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it'll be super fun. How do you
- 1:32Speaker 2: think your mom's gonna react? Because Brionn and my girlfriend,
- 1:35Speaker 2: which I'm super excited she gets to be a part
- 1:36Speaker 2: of this podcast, especially if you've listened to the podcast
- 1:39Speaker 2: for a while and you've heard all the stories, now
- 1:41Speaker 2: you get to hear them from her.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yeah, which that's so much better. I'm excited for her.
- 1:45Speaker 2: But she works in TV, so she's used to kind
- 1:47Speaker 2: of being on the spot with questions and talking. How
- 1:50Speaker 2: do you think your mom's going to react to being
- 1:51Speaker 2: on the podcast?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Carrie does get weirdly nervous, which is funny because if
- 1:54Speaker 1: you ever see her, like out at a bar, she's
- 1:56Speaker 1: talking to everybody.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Like when you said that the other day, I was like,
- 1:59Speaker 2: wait a second, because when we went out, literally your
- 2:01Speaker 2: mom to talk to every single play.
- 2:03Speaker 3: That's no exaggeration.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But you're going to see her clam up tomorrow. Really, Yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 1: she's gonna get real clammy.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Have you guys talked about her doing this since she's
- 2:10Speaker 3: been in town?
- 2:10Speaker 1: Nope? Oh good, Yeah, she's probably hearing it for the
- 2:12Speaker 1: first time right now.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Good. That's fantastic. So she's gonna have a nice surprise
- 2:15Speaker 3: for it.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Well'll, Carrie, thank you for being a part of the
- 2:17Speaker 2: podcast if you're going to hear it when they're in town.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I was thinking about this because we're kind of joking
- 2:21Speaker 2: on the air. Do you all have a set routine
- 2:23Speaker 2: of what you do in Tampa when your parents are
- 2:26Speaker 2: in town?
- 2:27Speaker 1: No, what's wrong with the camera, It just takes it.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I don't know why yours doesn't do that.
- 2:31Speaker 2: We have these cameras in the studio and mine just
- 2:33Speaker 2: takes off randomly.
- 2:34Speaker 3: There we go, come back here.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You're sitting down though, I know, but then it just
- 2:37Speaker 1: literally went down here, sit down, It'll find you. Come on,
- 2:42Speaker 1: come on here, just just sit down. It'll find you.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I think that's why mine works. I just let it
- 2:45Speaker 1: find me.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I know. But then if I move, I move a lot. Okay,
- 2:48Speaker 3: you get us. Dizzy's.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So your family's in town, and I was throwing out
- 2:52Speaker 2: some dumb ideas for what Abby should do with her family.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Nows not dumb.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I mean I actually do these with my family. Like
- 2:57Speaker 2: the aquarium. I love the aquarium. Okay, the zoo I
- 3:00Speaker 2: think is a membership that's extremely worth it. It's a
- 3:01Speaker 2: little hot right now. Yeah, But what is like your
- 3:04Speaker 2: run through? Because I was thinking about this morning, I'm like,
- 3:05Speaker 2: what do your parents like to do when they come
- 3:07Speaker 2: and do it?
- 3:07Speaker 1: I don't know what they do. I don't really know
- 3:09Speaker 1: why they come here, if I'm being honest with you, like,
- 3:12Speaker 1: I know it's because my mom's family's here. But like
- 3:15Speaker 1: when my dad said that they were coming last night,
- 3:17Speaker 1: so like Wednesday night, I'm like, you have a job,
- 3:19Speaker 1: You're just gonna leave it on Thursday and Friday. So
- 3:21Speaker 1: I think my mom's getting coffee right now with my cousin.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Oh, that's nice. So it is just like catching up.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and then I think my mom will go for
- 3:27Speaker 1: a walk afterwards. I don't know what my dad's doing.
- 3:31Speaker 1: My dad might be working from home.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Does he golf? Does he like go out to a
- 3:34Speaker 3: course in golf?
- 3:35Speaker 1: I think he might be golfing.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Does he see like your brother?
- 3:39Speaker 1: I maybe I don't. I couldn't tell you. You know,
- 3:41Speaker 1: they're an interesting brood.
- 3:43Speaker 3: I like maybe I was just talking to my dad
- 3:45Speaker 3: about this.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I was like one of the dreams I do have,
- 3:47Speaker 2: And I'm not saying this is what your parents do. Yeah,
- 3:49Speaker 2: but it's like I want a snowbird it like when
- 3:51Speaker 2: I get older, I look forward to having, well, hopefully
- 3:55Speaker 2: like a house that's not in the literal middle of
- 3:57Speaker 2: the sun, huh, and that I could travel to during
- 4:00Speaker 2: the winter.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I know it's way too hot here.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, and I don't know if your parents only
- 4:03Speaker 2: get an escape because they're what just like up in
- 4:05Speaker 2: like the Jacksonville area.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I know, So it's not really snowbirding. It's like the
- 4:08Speaker 1: opposite of snowbirding.
- 4:09Speaker 3: They're fan in the heat.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They're firebirding.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Oh it's like the Phoenix.
- 4:11Speaker 1: They're firebirding down to Tampa for the summer.
- 4:14Speaker 3: And they just come down to just pop around for
- 4:15Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I think she got the house because
- 4:18Speaker 1: you know, my brother just got married, and I think
- 4:20Speaker 1: she anticipates, like them having kids at some point, and
- 4:22Speaker 1: so she wants a place to stay and financially, I
- 4:25Speaker 1: guess it made sense because like, what else are they
- 4:26Speaker 1: doing with their money? Because we don't summer somewhere.
- 4:29Speaker 3: You should summer somewhere now Tucket.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I was like, why the hell are we buying this house?
- 4:33Speaker 1: And I mean, I'm great, folks, I get to live
- 4:35Speaker 1: in it for free. Oh I'm like, why are we
- 4:36Speaker 1: living here in Tampa when you could get a house
- 4:39Speaker 1: in Nantucket? Oh God, maybe not quite that boogie, but
- 4:42Speaker 1: maybe on the cape.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Maybe like a little one.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I think that's one of my visions, is I you know,
- 4:46Speaker 2: and you could tell I'm gonna run a creepy idea
- 4:47Speaker 2: by you in just a second. But like to have
- 4:49Speaker 2: like a little tiny, like I don't know, island shack,
- 4:52Speaker 2: Like it doesn't have to be a big ass beach house,
- 4:54Speaker 2: but like a little one two bedroom, one bath, but
- 4:57Speaker 2: it's in a beautiful location. That's a dream.
- 4:59Speaker 1: That's that makes you happy?
- 5:00Speaker 3: That is it really is. Let me run this creepy
- 5:02Speaker 3: idea by you.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Then, since we're talking about houses and living, one of
- 5:05Speaker 2: the things I've started doing I'm very big on, like
- 5:07Speaker 2: the vision board stuff. Yeah, I write down my plans,
- 5:10Speaker 2: I have my goals. I want to know where I'm going.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And so what I started doing is I've kind of
- 5:14Speaker 2: started stalking people online to see their houses.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Yea, I want to stop you right there.
- 5:18Speaker 2: All it's creepy, Okay, let me take the word stalking
- 5:20Speaker 2: out of it. I've started looking up people's houses because
- 5:22Speaker 2: I put it into Chat.
- 5:23Speaker 3: So I literally went on Chat. I was like, Chat,
- 5:25Speaker 3: here's my dream house.
- 5:26Speaker 2: How much is it going to cost, here's the plan,
- 5:28Speaker 2: how long is it going to take me to get there?
- 5:30Speaker 2: And where are the locations that I could actually find it.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Chat's awesome. Gave me a mock up photo of what
- 5:35Speaker 2: my dream house would look like. I good, damn, that's
- 5:37Speaker 2: really impressive.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Chat, could you find me the exact looks of this
- 5:40Speaker 3: in the Tampa Bay area? And so Chat pulled up
- 5:42Speaker 3: like ten different houses that are around me that look
- 5:46Speaker 3: like the house that I'm going after.
- 5:47Speaker 2: That part I don't think is creepy. This is what
- 5:49Speaker 2: I'm talking about it here because I don't want to
- 5:50Speaker 2: take it too far. The next thing I want to
- 5:52Speaker 2: do is go drive by these houses.
- 5:53Speaker 1: How do you want to drive by them? You know
- 5:55Speaker 1: what they look like, you know where they are.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I want to get a feel of it. It's like
- 5:58Speaker 2: you have to see it to believe it, to believe
- 6:00Speaker 2: to achieve it.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So what I thought you were going to say is
- 6:02Speaker 1: I thought you were going to see who owns the
- 6:03Speaker 1: house and then see what they.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Do for a living.
- 6:05Speaker 2: That's well, we writing that off, like because I don't
- 6:07Speaker 2: think that's a bad idea, because I didn't.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I looked up how much did it cost? Yeah, and
- 6:11Speaker 3: literally I have a plan. I'm like, all right, if
- 6:13Speaker 3: it costs this much.
- 6:14Speaker 1: How much of the how much does the cost of
- 6:16Speaker 1: the house.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I think some of them are like seven fifty to
- 6:18Speaker 2: eight hundred. I mean it's a dream house, yeah, Like
- 6:21Speaker 2: and for me, it's like I want a big old
- 6:23Speaker 2: back patio with a nice pool and a little bar
- 6:25Speaker 2: area back there with a grill people could hang out
- 6:27Speaker 2: a big kitchen with a nice island. Okay, so I'm
- 6:30Speaker 2: finding those places, but it also has to have enough
- 6:33Speaker 2: rooms for kids, maybe a room for a podcast studio.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Those are the things that I'm like little details dream home.
- 6:39Speaker 2: But I know, for one thing, I want two bathrooms
- 6:41Speaker 2: because I see all the time in Saint Pete I
- 6:44Speaker 2: find the most gorgeous houses. There's one right near where
- 6:46Speaker 2: I live right now, and it just sold, and I
- 6:48Speaker 2: was actually kind of mad because I was like, I
- 6:49Speaker 2: want this house. The bad thing is it had one bathroom,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and I'm like, if I have a family sharing one bathroom.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Oh absolutely not.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Oh my god, been there done that? It's the worst.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I've literally I did it for like six months
- 7:01Speaker 2: with our friends I don't know, back in like twenty
- 7:03Speaker 2: twenty one, and at first it was fine, but then
- 7:06Speaker 2: battling over one single bathroom and the last house I
- 7:09Speaker 2: lived in before I just started living solo, my buddy
- 7:11Speaker 2: and I shared a bathroom.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Absolutely heinous. And I'm actually surprised you're stopping at two bathrooms.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I feel like three, at least two. I guess this
- 7:18Speaker 2: is my cut off in my head, just because I
- 7:20Speaker 2: grew up in like a three two. This is like
- 7:22Speaker 2: my family house.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Oh so that's how you envision house. Yeah, see, I
- 7:25Speaker 1: grew up in houses that they we had to have
- 7:27Speaker 1: four bedrooms?
- 7:28Speaker 3: Why four?
- 7:29Speaker 1: We wanted a guest room?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Okay, well, I guess that would be the extra part
- 7:33Speaker 2: of the dream. That's why I was looking at it though.
- 7:35Speaker 2: But I have the list now in chat where I'm like,
- 7:37Speaker 2: I have the addresses. I kind of want to do
- 7:39Speaker 2: a little drive by and maybe even more like it
- 7:41Speaker 2: would I wouldn't hate the idea of doing a little
- 7:43Speaker 2: knock knock and just checking in to see I.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Would find that very weird if someone came and knocked
- 7:48Speaker 1: on my house and said, Hey, this is my dream home.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Can I interview you about how you got here?
- 7:53Speaker 3: I mean, what if they want to sell it in
- 7:55Speaker 3: like three five years?
- 7:56Speaker 1: But can you afford a seven hundred thousand dollars house
- 7:59Speaker 1: in three years?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Going to happen in three years?
- 8:01Speaker 1: Well, I don't know. Then I feel like you don't
- 8:02Speaker 1: really need to like ask them for the house.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I would like to at least be the one that's
- 8:05Speaker 2: first runner up, because honestly, what I've seen and this
- 8:09Speaker 2: could be I could just be spitting this right out
- 8:10Speaker 2: of my butt. Yeah, is like if you go before
- 8:14Speaker 2: they put it on the market and you set up
- 8:15Speaker 2: a little thing, it makes it a quick maybe cheaper sale,
- 8:18Speaker 2: is what I'm guessing, gotcha. So that's why I'm like,
- 8:21Speaker 2: if I could establish the relationship now like our Oh
- 8:24Speaker 2: my gosh, and this is too much info, but one
- 8:26Speaker 2: of our bosses here, they just bought a house and
- 8:28Speaker 2: they were telling me how Barb's boyfriend.
- 8:31Speaker 3: No, no, no, this boyfriend just bought a house.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Well I didn't. I didn't see his new house. It
- 8:36Speaker 2: might maybe it's something similar. But one of our other
- 8:38Speaker 2: bosses bought a house and that's how it was, like
- 8:40Speaker 2: they just had a relationship.
- 8:41Speaker 3: With the person.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and it made it a lot cheaper for them
- 8:44Speaker 2: to just make it a quick transaction. Boom boom, you
- 8:46Speaker 2: went out of this house. I got an option for you.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Bam took the house. That's what I'm looking to do. Okay, well,
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'm setting that seed three to five years from now.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I hope it works out for you.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So you get the dream house.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I hope so too. But I hope it's not that
- 8:57Speaker 3: creepy because I.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I would find it very creepy. Soone knocked on my
- 9:00Speaker 1: door and is that, Hey, I want to live in
- 9:01Speaker 1: your house.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Hear me your life, hear me out for a date idea,
- 9:05Speaker 2: because this is what I wanted to do with Brionda.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I wanted to just go drive around and like look
- 9:08Speaker 3: at houses.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I don't think that's creepy. I actually think going to
- 9:11Speaker 1: like model houses is really fun. I used to love
- 9:14Speaker 1: doing that as a kid because I grew up in
- 9:15Speaker 1: a subdivision where there were a lot of new construction builds,
- 9:18Speaker 1: and before we moved into the house that we moved
- 9:20Speaker 1: into when I was in high school, we were thinking
- 9:22Speaker 1: about building a house and we would go to the
- 9:24Speaker 1: fancy neighborhood. It was the one gated neighborhood in Juliington Creek.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It was called like Magnolia or something. So you go
- 9:30Speaker 1: to Magnolia, you go through the gates and you were
- 9:32Speaker 1: start surrounded by all these million dollar homes, which I'm
- 9:36Speaker 1: sure back then they felt like these massive mansions. I'm sorry,
- 9:38Speaker 1: we drive by them now and go, oh god, they're
- 9:40Speaker 1: two million dollars for four indred twere feet. But we
- 9:42Speaker 1: would go to all the model houses and I used
- 9:45Speaker 1: to love looking at the floor plans and envisioning what
- 9:48Speaker 1: it would be like to live there and what lot
- 9:50Speaker 1: you could pick with the best view of the marsh
- 9:52Speaker 1: or something.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I completely get it now, Like those are things that
- 9:55Speaker 2: I didn't care about at all growing up. Yeah, weirdly
- 9:58Speaker 2: in the past year, like now, things that I think of,
- 10:01Speaker 2: like what don't want my kitchen to look? Like, I've
- 10:03Speaker 2: never thought about what kind of countertops I want are flooring,
- 10:06Speaker 2: but now my entire feed on Instagram is.
- 10:09Speaker 1: That it's kind of countertops.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Get I like the like my look here you go,
- 10:12Speaker 3: Like I like the white look.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Or it's like careful there, like the white, crisp countertops
- 10:17Speaker 2: and like, well, I don't know, stone, I don't even
- 10:18Speaker 2: know what you call.
- 10:18Speaker 1: It, courts that I don't know. Shorts is very durable.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, like it has maybe like a couple of little
- 10:24Speaker 2: I'm gonna call splotches, I don't know what you call that, Okay,
- 10:26Speaker 2: but like it looks like a stone where it's a
- 10:28Speaker 2: little bit of gray and it's white and then like
- 10:31Speaker 2: maybe black cabinets.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Ye, So you want Miguel's house, you know what?
- 10:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I wanna buy it from I think you.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Want Miguel's house. Miguel is another radio host in Tampa
- 10:39Speaker 1: and he bought a house and that's his kitchen.
- 10:41Speaker 3: It is really nice his kitchen. I like the way
- 10:43Speaker 3: it sparkles.
- 10:44Speaker 2: There's a dream home that I follow on Instagram now
- 10:47Speaker 2: and like they just post video.
- 10:48Speaker 3: It's like they know they have a beautiful.
- 10:49Speaker 2: House and they just post the videos of their massive kitchen,
- 10:52Speaker 2: the big island and the sliding glass stores. I open
- 10:55Speaker 2: up right from the kitchen and you just walk on
- 10:57Speaker 2: the most gorgeous patio with comp seats and a big
- 11:00Speaker 2: pool and.
- 11:01Speaker 3: A cute dog that runs around it.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I'm like, that's my life. I want that life in
- 11:05Speaker 2: five years. And now it's like who here has that?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Because based off of right now, I can't find it,
- 11:10Speaker 2: and if I can, it's way too out of budget
- 11:12Speaker 2: because I think a lot of people and what they
- 11:13Speaker 2: did and they shared it on Instagram. They literally had
- 11:16Speaker 2: to redo everything, yeah, to get it to look like that.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Your boy don't have.
- 11:19Speaker 3: That skills, I know, or the money or the money.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's very expensive to dorhinos and there's always something that
- 11:24Speaker 1: goes wrong and it takes longer than you expect.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Mm hmmm. Well, that's on the vision right now.
- 11:28Speaker 2: That's why I want to go drive around and find
- 11:29Speaker 2: the per person that has it and plant the seed.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Don't find the person, but feel free to drive by
- 11:33Speaker 1: the house anyway.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Well, so back to the questions that we could be
- 11:36Speaker 2: asking our people tomorrow, because.
- 11:38Speaker 1: We're going to bring on Hey, Brianda, is there anything
- 11:40Speaker 1: that creeps you out about your boyfriend? Jeez?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Some of these answers I'm worried about, but I also
- 11:44Speaker 2: feel pretty confident.
- 11:45Speaker 1: No, I'm not going to do anything that's going to
- 11:47Speaker 1: be embarrassing or crazy or.
- 11:49Speaker 3: You say that, No, I have tact.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a safe place. This is an editing zone.
- 11:54Speaker 1: So if anything comes off, like, this is a safe
- 11:56Speaker 1: place to throw things against the wall and kind of
- 11:58Speaker 1: test boundaries. But on a stage that's a that's a.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Secret place, that's sacred.
- 12:02Speaker 1: Theater is a safe place.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Now, I think it's gonna be fine.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I think it'll be really fun to just be able
- 12:06Speaker 2: to hear the stories from her but also from your
- 12:08Speaker 2: mom of like literally, how you too interact is something
- 12:11Speaker 2: that fascinates me. What she likes to do here is
- 12:13Speaker 2: something that fascinates me. Her energy is something that fascinates me.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But you also said today that you guys are is
- 12:19Speaker 2: it dinner tonight where she's gonna go wing Woman and
- 12:21Speaker 2: you on Channel.
- 12:22Speaker 1: She wants to go to happy hour somewhere downtown in
- 12:26Speaker 1: Channel Side and she wants to wing woman.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I think this is so funny.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I'll let her liver dream.
- 12:30Speaker 3: So you guys are what's that song that was on TikTok?
- 12:34Speaker 3: I want to six foot.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Six blue eyes. I don't like blue eyes, though I
- 12:39Speaker 1: want six You literally have blue eyes. I want yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but I don't want to look back at blue eyes.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Wow boys is fine. I'm not that picky. I want
- 12:47Speaker 1: a six six y three.
- 12:48Speaker 3: God dang, that's a big boy.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Brown eyes, boy, brown hair, Wow money Okay, funny, athletic, funny,
- 12:56Speaker 1: But who cares? At this point, I'm pushing thirty. I'm
- 12:58Speaker 1: willing to settle for appearances.
- 13:00Speaker 3: I had done this with your mom.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Before, where it's like she's taken, like you guys have
- 13:03Speaker 2: gone out and she has wing Woman.
- 13:05Speaker 1: She tries I don't can't remember the last time we
- 13:07Speaker 1: did it, and it was like remotely successful. She always
- 13:10Speaker 1: just ends up finding like a group of dudes who
- 13:12Speaker 1: are like twenty three that's what she always ends up finding.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Like when we were in Nantucket, she found this group
- 13:16Speaker 1: of guys and they're really cute, but they're like twenty three.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so it's like not even a chance.
- 13:19Speaker 1: And one of them, this is, we got into not
- 13:21Speaker 1: a tiff, but we got into a like a spat. Is.
- 13:24Speaker 1: One of the guys, who was really handsome, was giving
- 13:27Speaker 1: me very feminine vibes. He reminds me a lot of
- 13:30Speaker 1: the guys that I know that are gay. I'm not
- 13:31Speaker 1: saying he was gay. I'm saying he reminded me of
- 13:33Speaker 1: gay guys.
- 13:33Speaker 3: That I know some of the same characteristics.
- 13:35Speaker 1: And they were like, why weren't you into him? Why
- 13:36Speaker 1: weren't you into him? I was like, that boy's gay,
- 13:38Speaker 1: and I really believe that. Yeah, And I won't say who,
- 13:41Speaker 1: but one of them was like, well, i'm married, and
- 13:43Speaker 1: I think it like that, yeah, and a kind of
- 13:45Speaker 1: in a condest anyway where it's like I'm married. So
- 13:47Speaker 1: I feel like, I, you know, I'm almost in a
- 13:49Speaker 1: way to like criticize, like, oh, you're being too picky.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, like just because getting married is
- 13:55Speaker 1: not some kind of accomplishment. You found some dude who
- 13:58Speaker 1: likes you and you like him, and then you got married.
- 14:00Speaker 1: You're not you didn't do something better than me because
- 14:02Speaker 1: you're Yeah, you're.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Not better than me because you got Yeah, region you
- 14:05Speaker 3: just got married.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not like you crack some code. I'm like,
- 14:08Speaker 1: you just found some dude who you like and he
- 14:09Speaker 1: likes you.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Yeah. It's not some magnificent milestone. It's exciting, very exciting.
- 14:14Speaker 3: I love lucky.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's not something to say you're not to
- 14:18Speaker 2: my level yet because you haven't been married.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I know. And I'm like, and the question I always
- 14:22Speaker 1: want to ask him. I'll be like, well, would you
- 14:23Speaker 1: date him? And they always go yeah. It's like I
- 14:28Speaker 1: will never recommend somebody that I would not I could
- 14:31Speaker 1: not see myself dating.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Oh that's interesting.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I will never, ever, ever, ever recommend somebody that I
- 14:36Speaker 1: wouldn't date. If you know your friend's type, That's what
- 14:39Speaker 1: I mean is like, somebody might not be right for me,
- 14:42Speaker 1: but you could still be if I wouldn't go out
- 14:44Speaker 1: on a first date with them. That's what I will
- 14:47Speaker 1: not set you up with them.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, oh, no, you should go, And it's like,
- 14:49Speaker 3: would you know? Absolutely not?
- 14:51Speaker 1: Okay, why if I wouldn't say yes to the first date.
- 14:53Speaker 1: I will not put that on my friends because I
- 14:55Speaker 1: think that's so rude. I think that's so condescending and
- 14:58Speaker 1: so to I hate the term give them a chance,
- 15:00Speaker 1: give them a chance because the person you married, maybe
- 15:03Speaker 1: you did just quote unquoe give them a chance. But
- 15:05Speaker 1: most people who are happily married are like happy with
- 15:08Speaker 1: the person they chose.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Yeah, you should be excited to go talk to and
- 15:12Speaker 3: be that person. Yeah.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I do see some relationships though, where it's like I
- 15:16Speaker 2: think they give them a chance comes down to maybe
- 15:19Speaker 2: not like the looks or the attraction level, but of
- 15:22Speaker 2: like I'm not really feeling the dating scene. God, I've
- 15:24Speaker 2: done this so many times. We'll give them a chance. Okay, fine,
- 15:27Speaker 2: let me see. I'll go ahead and give in Yeah, and.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Then it happens.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Then you're like, oh wow, wait a second, I'm glad
- 15:31Speaker 2: I did hum hm, and you get surprised by it.
- 15:34Speaker 1: But you give them one chance. That's the thing is,
- 15:36Speaker 1: you've got to give them one chance. If I've given
- 15:37Speaker 1: them a chance, if I've met them and I'm like
- 15:39Speaker 1: not into it, that's me giving them a chance. Is
- 15:41Speaker 1: there anything lined up for you on the horizon. Right now,
- 15:43Speaker 1: Scotti is trying to not you Scotty. Other Scotty is
- 15:46Speaker 1: setting me up with another mutual friend who has not
- 15:48Speaker 1: responded to my text yesterday. I'm like, Scotty, how many
- 15:52Speaker 1: guys you're gonna set me up with?
- 15:53Speaker 2: That?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Are gonna gost me? Yeah?
- 15:54Speaker 3: Like how many know's? Am I gonna have to go out?
- 15:56Speaker 1: Which, by the way, this is an update. Oh, the
- 15:58Speaker 1: people are gonna love this. So do you remember last
- 16:01Speaker 1: month we were calling this sales setup sales setup guy. Yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and we were like, oh, it's been fifteen days since
- 16:06Speaker 1: sales setup guys texted me.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 16:07Speaker 1: We were keeping like a running tally.
- 16:09Speaker 3: We literally had a tally in the studio.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And I stopped counting because the days just kept going.
- 16:13Speaker 3: We couldn't fit it on the whiteboard anymore.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Could It's been like three thousand days. So a month ago,
- 16:18Speaker 1: the same person tried to set me up with her
- 16:20Speaker 1: friend who's super hot, and we exchanged numbers. He was
- 16:24Speaker 1: so enthusiastic when he was texting me and then just
- 16:26Speaker 1: went totally mia and I was like, dude, like, god,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I know you have a roster, but like it's so rude.
- 16:32Speaker 1: To just ghosts, especially since it was a mutual friend
- 16:34Speaker 1: set up. It wasn't like it was bumble. I'll give
- 16:36Speaker 1: you if it's on a dating app and you're just
- 16:37Speaker 1: like over and you need deleting it, whatever, if I
- 16:39Speaker 1: know you through another person, it's crazy to just ghost anyway, whatever,
- 16:43Speaker 1: not a big deal. I found out from her yesterday
- 16:46Speaker 1: that apparently his ex came back into the picture.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Son of guy.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Yeah, what she always know when they stopped texting you,
- 16:52Speaker 1: there's somebody else.
- 16:53Speaker 3: That's exactly right because they can't be seen texting.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, and I certainly don't want to compete with
- 16:57Speaker 1: the his high school sweetheart or something, and so.
- 16:59Speaker 2: ICE have so many mixed feelings about that. I know
- 17:01Speaker 2: there are people that make it work with ex'es. Yeah,
- 17:04Speaker 2: but you really have to examine, like, what the heck
- 17:07Speaker 2: did you guys break up over?
- 17:08Speaker 1: I think it might have been like youth or something
- 17:09Speaker 1: like they were young and then maybe college up and
- 17:12Speaker 1: I don't know, but anyway, that's that's what we fink.
- 17:14Speaker 1: That's what we found out what happened. So anyway, she's like, oh,
- 17:16Speaker 1: I have this other guy, and she's shown me this
- 17:18Speaker 1: other guy before. But he's recently out of a relationship.
- 17:21Speaker 3: You need some time to.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Yeah, And so I guess his mom was talking to
- 17:24Speaker 1: her and then she brought me up to him, and
- 17:27Speaker 1: so then he texted me yesterday and we've exchanged literally
- 17:29Speaker 1: four messages.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Oh that's good. At least it's a start.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but I haven't heard from him since. I guess
- 17:34Speaker 1: that's fine. Seven thirty yesterday, not that I'm keeping count.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Seven thirty last night. Yeah, oh that's fine. Yeaheah, you
- 17:40Speaker 2: think so, yeah, one hundred percent.
- 17:41Speaker 1: So we'll see. I mean, I don't know. I'm I'm
- 17:44Speaker 1: off the dating apps, so I'm certainly not in a
- 17:46Speaker 1: position to say no to a setup.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Well, that's I was just talking to my brother last
- 17:49Speaker 2: night at dinner, and it's just like the gaming apps
- 17:51Speaker 2: is such, or the dating apps that's I can call
- 17:53Speaker 2: it gaming asters like a game.
- 17:54Speaker 3: And that's why I say it, because I'm.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Like, it's just like a game where it's just you're
- 17:57Speaker 2: just doing a game to see a message and then
- 17:59Speaker 2: it goes away. And I think for the most people
- 18:01Speaker 2: that get off of them, they find more successive.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Just let me just go talk to people.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna have way more success starting a conversation
- 18:08Speaker 2: versus starting a conversation on an app.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I'm not anti dating apps. I think maybe I'm just
- 18:11Speaker 1: anti dating apps for me because I did the quote
- 18:14Speaker 1: unquote give them a chance thing, like I've I give
- 18:16Speaker 1: them a chance for ten years, Like I think it
- 18:18Speaker 1: would have happened if it would have happened already. True.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And I also heard somebody articulate this perfectly, and it's
- 18:23Speaker 1: exactly how I feel about a first date on a
- 18:25Speaker 1: dating app, because a it's less of a first date,
- 18:27Speaker 1: more of a first meeting. Yes, and there's so much
- 18:30Speaker 1: you're gambling with. You just don't really know what you're
- 18:31Speaker 1: getting into. It's kind of like a blind date mm hmm.
- 18:34Speaker 1: But I hate the connotation of things have to be
- 18:37Speaker 1: immediately romantic, like you're meeting them for the first time,
- 18:40Speaker 1: and it's like, do I find you attractive? Do you
- 18:41Speaker 1: find it's like instantly?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't just establish a rapport. Yeah I have
- 18:46Speaker 2: a little things in common.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I love rapport.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I have a little fun.
- 18:49Speaker 2: But you can't really get that if you're just literally
- 18:52Speaker 2: set up for the purpose of dating.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like, do we want to spend the rest
- 18:55Speaker 1: of all of our lives with each.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Yes or no, yes or no circle.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Also give me a glass of off your bunk, thank you,
- 19:00Speaker 1: And that's what the mill. I think it's a lot
- 19:01Speaker 1: not pressure, because it doesn't feel like it's a lot
- 19:03Speaker 1: of pressure, but it does feel immediately like do we
- 19:06Speaker 1: like each other? Whereas I do think I am the
- 19:08Speaker 1: kind of person that would thrive more in an environment
- 19:11Speaker 1: where I wish I had the chance to see someone
- 19:14Speaker 1: repeatedly yeah and kind of get a rapport with them
- 19:17Speaker 1: and see if there's friction and chemistry there rather than
- 19:19Speaker 1: just immediately being like, do it like each.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Other, where the comfort could just be established.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I know that's tough, and a lot of people are
- 19:25Speaker 2: gonna throw it out there. A lot of people find
- 19:27Speaker 2: that at work because you're just in the same environment
- 19:30Speaker 2: every single day.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Well, Scott, why aren't we dating because you're the only
- 19:33Speaker 1: person I see at work? Wait.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I was gonna say, well, it's so tough because we
- 19:37Speaker 2: have such a small office here, But is there anybody
- 19:39Speaker 2: that you've ever been like, hmm, can you imaginify?
- 19:41Speaker 1: I was like, scary, Jason. Scary Jason is our what's
- 19:44Speaker 1: his title.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Or our general marriage.
- 19:47Speaker 1: General manager he's head, bitch in charge.
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he's the big dog and.
- 19:50Speaker 1: He's bitch in charge. Yeah, but like a father figure
- 19:53Speaker 1: as well.
- 19:54Speaker 2: No.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Also, like everyone hears, it's either everyone's like twenty years
- 19:58Speaker 1: older than us or five year younger than us.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, nobody's right in that pocket.
- 20:02Speaker 1: It's not like there's a convenient another twenty nine year
- 20:04Speaker 1: old over in the graphics department. You know what I mean.
- 20:06Speaker 1: It's like me, you this the older sales staff, like
- 20:09Speaker 1: the account exacts who are like married with kids, you.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Know, look good for them. M hm.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I was just watching I don't know, did you see
- 20:15Speaker 2: this girl that went viral on Instagram.
- 20:17Speaker 3: This is gonna sound.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Weird the way I describe it, but it's just what
- 20:20Speaker 2: popped up on the feed. She got on Instagram to
- 20:22Speaker 2: talk about how she's attracting the wrong audience. I'll have
- 20:25Speaker 2: to send you it and we'll probably get into it
- 20:26Speaker 2: another one because I think this kind of summarizes guys,
- 20:29Speaker 2: because she got on this Instagram and she's like, I
- 20:30Speaker 2: feel like I've been attracting the wrong audience.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Oh I think I did see this because she talks
- 20:34Speaker 1: about her chest.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, well I'm now seeing a lot of guys
- 20:38Speaker 2: like stitching her, like talking about it, and it just
- 20:40Speaker 2: goes to show like how men are and how they're
- 20:43Speaker 2: presenting to other men. And it's like this one guy
- 20:46Speaker 2: gets on and like completely like rips her to shreds
- 20:48Speaker 2: on her, expressing these things about her, and I'm like, bro,
- 20:51Speaker 2: are you missing the entire point of this, Like you're
- 20:52Speaker 2: feeding into the fact that she's like talking about the
- 20:55Speaker 2: only thing that people see in her.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Air boobs or her boobs so annoying.
- 20:58Speaker 2: But it's like a guy, that's all exactly what you're
- 21:01Speaker 2: describing and then just going down that same rabbit hole
- 21:03Speaker 2: and what's.
- 21:03Speaker 1: This whole point Just you're asking for it if you
- 21:05Speaker 1: have boobs, It's so dumb. It's so dumb, such red
- 21:09Speaker 1: pill content.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Oh my god. But it seems like it's everywhere.
- 21:11Speaker 2: And I saw that pop up and like, if this
- 21:14Speaker 2: is what a majority of the guys are thinking, we
- 21:16Speaker 2: have a big route.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Wait, it's hell.
- 21:18Speaker 1: It's hell out here.
- 21:19Speaker 2: One of the good things on social media right now though,
- 21:22Speaker 2: that we did get a little update twelve feet in
- 21:24Speaker 2: the podcast, is we might have an interview with the
- 21:26Speaker 2: artist Stella Lefty.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Stella Lefty, I can't wait to talk to her.
- 21:30Speaker 1: So she's that girl that has baby Stella Lefty. Wait,
- 21:32Speaker 1: she had wait a sec okay, and her dad's like
- 21:34Speaker 1: a billionaire. Not that that discounts any of her hard
- 21:36Speaker 1: work or her musical talent. Okay. I've seen a ton
- 21:39Speaker 1: of discourse about her about how she does and she's
- 21:43Speaker 1: she's a millionaire and she interpolated the Noah con song
- 21:47Speaker 1: for Boston and wait. Okay, So let's get into her
- 21:51Speaker 1: Music's great though, Like it's one thing to have a
- 21:53Speaker 1: one hit wonder, but I was tuning into her Spotify yesterday.
- 21:56Speaker 1: She's got some really great tracks.
- 21:57Speaker 2: See that's what I literally fell in love with because
- 21:59Speaker 2: I don't get out like and we'll talk about some
- 22:01Speaker 2: of the people that we've been able to interact with
- 22:03Speaker 2: or like meet because of this job. And for the
- 22:06Speaker 2: most part, I'm okay.
- 22:08Speaker 3: With like everybody.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Yeah, like I kind of walk in. I'm like, oh cool,
- 22:11Speaker 2: Like you're hustling right now. You're doing your whole like
- 22:13Speaker 2: radio tour. Yeah, we gotta go hit thirty radio stations
- 22:16Speaker 2: in two minutes. Stell A Lefty is somebody that I'm like,
- 22:19Speaker 2: wait a second, I'm kind of geeking out over because
- 22:21Speaker 2: I did.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I dove into her music and I don't so many.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Artists, Like you're coming, your camera will catch you if
- 22:26Speaker 1: you sit down. It doesn't though, sit down, Okay, you
- 22:29Speaker 1: got to move around a little bit so it catches
- 22:30Speaker 1: your face, Like, move more than that because it thinks
- 22:33Speaker 1: you're in the center of the frame.
- 22:34Speaker 3: It's not see here, sit down and then right there. Yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 3: but it was on that before then it just took off. Okay,
- 22:42Speaker 3: still there.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Stella Lefty So stell A Lefty is actually somebody that
- 22:45Speaker 2: I'm truly excited to interact with because I've fallen in
- 22:49Speaker 2: love with all of her music. Yeah, which I love
- 22:51Speaker 2: when somebody like obsesses over an artist, because I'm like,
- 22:53Speaker 2: I wish I love something as much as that. I'm
- 22:56Speaker 2: not saying I'm obsessed, but for the most part, right
- 22:59Speaker 2: now in twenty six one of.
- 23:00Speaker 3: My favorite artists.
- 23:01Speaker 1: What do you like about her music?
- 23:02Speaker 2: I think it just sings to a part that I
- 23:04Speaker 2: really connect with, Like I love a sappy acoustic love song, yeah,
- 23:08Speaker 2: and like her whole list of songs is exactly that.
- 23:11Speaker 2: It's the song Boston where it's literally a story about
- 23:14Speaker 2: her and a guy going to Boston. I don't know,
- 23:17Speaker 2: visiting family and the adventure that.
- 23:19Speaker 3: They go on. She has a song that's all about Wait.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I didn't think we were actually gonna make this work,
- 23:23Speaker 2: but we have so many things in common.
- 23:25Speaker 3: I think we should actually go ahead and date.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:27Speaker 2: I just I love those kind of songs and I
- 23:30Speaker 2: love her voice, but I didn't know.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Okay, that's kind of cool. Though she was a Nepo baby.
- 23:33Speaker 2: She is a Nepo baby, yeah, because the way she
- 23:35Speaker 2: got famous was TikTok though.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yeah. And so that's what I'm trying to say is
- 23:38Speaker 1: like I feel like I've seen a lot of discourse
- 23:40Speaker 1: about her trying to discredit her work, which I'm not
- 23:42Speaker 1: saying that when you have a billion dollars to spend
- 23:45Speaker 1: on investing in your music career, that doesn't help. But
- 23:47Speaker 1: still like she's still talented, she still has a great boys,
- 23:51Speaker 1: her songs are great. I was looking at some of
- 23:53Speaker 1: the people who have written some of her songs, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: it's like her and one other person. I'm like that
- 23:57Speaker 1: one other person isn't writing this entire song. Like she's
- 23:59Speaker 1: involved in that too. That's really cool, And think about
- 24:01Speaker 1: all the Nepple babies we haven't heard about, like all
- 24:03Speaker 1: the NEPO babies who have tried and failed. Like, you
- 24:06Speaker 1: can still be a shitty actress and not get cast
- 24:10Speaker 1: in things if you are the daughter of a billionaire
- 24:12Speaker 1: or millionaire or whatever.
- 24:13Speaker 2: That's true, and I mean it's still at the end
- 24:15Speaker 2: of the day. What caught our attention because I didn't know.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I just like her voice. I was like, Wow, her
- 24:19Speaker 2: voice is really good and unique. And I do like
- 24:21Speaker 2: because now we're in such a pop world where everything
- 24:23Speaker 2: feels like and again, I love the pop songs we play,
- 24:26Speaker 2: but it's like over edited or auto tuned or all
- 24:30Speaker 2: those things that are added on it when somebody could
- 24:32Speaker 2: just get on and sing and you're like, oh wait,
- 24:33Speaker 2: you're actually a really good singer that really catches our eye.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like we're entering the era of female vocalists.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Like I feel like we had like a big pop era,
- 24:42Speaker 1: big like dubstep era in like twenty twelve, yeah, electronic,
- 24:45Speaker 1: and now it's like Stella Lefti, Olivia Dean, Olivia Rodrigo. Yeah,
- 24:51Speaker 1: who else has a really incredible voice that's taking off
- 24:54Speaker 1: right now? Gracie Abrams, Gracy Abrams. A lot of people
- 24:58Speaker 1: didn't like her most recent album.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I haven't heard much of it. There's only a
- 25:01Speaker 2: couple songs that I'm like diving into. But I was
- 25:03Speaker 2: just saying voice wise, yeah.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Or maybe like the singer songwriter vibe, where it's a
- 25:07Speaker 1: lot of interpersonal narratives being told through female voices.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Yeah, And weirdly I connect with those songs.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I just feel like they actually tell a story. Like
- 25:17Speaker 2: there's a lot of guys, I mean they don't tell
- 25:19Speaker 2: a story song.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Like I think the one artist that on the guy
- 25:22Speaker 3: side that I really.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Connected is like Benson Boone, Like he's put out some
- 25:25Speaker 2: songs recently that I'm.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Like, oh my god, that's so different.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like I feel like Benson Boone is the
- 25:30Speaker 2: This is a stretch of a statement, I get it.
- 25:33Speaker 2: But like the Freddie Mercury style of our game.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I know what you're trying to say. Yeah, Well, it's
- 25:37Speaker 1: hard to call anybody who's only been in the industry
- 25:39Speaker 1: a couple of years in icon like Freddie Mercury, because
- 25:42Speaker 1: I remember when I first started listening to Taylor Swift,
- 25:44Speaker 1: I felt like she was going to be the Beatles
- 25:46Speaker 1: of our generation. But fifteen years ago you've been like okay,
- 25:48Speaker 1: shut up, yea, And now, of course fifteen years later,
- 25:51Speaker 1: it's like okay, well duh.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Mmm, Like it actually makes sense you could call her that.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I feel like Benson Boone, Noah Kahn, and Alex Warren.
- 25:59Speaker 1: They were a part of a select group of people
- 26:00Speaker 1: that I feel like got really famous at the same
- 26:02Speaker 1: time where it's like big, soulful male voices.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's different. Sound like that's what I appreciated
- 26:08Speaker 2: about it. I'm like, you're not just getting on and
- 26:09Speaker 2: rapping or rocking, like Benson Boone has songs where it's
- 26:12Speaker 2: like literally.
- 26:15Speaker 3: I'm like, whoa, all right, buddy.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he goes down, Like as I bring up Stella Lefty.
- 26:19Speaker 2: I'm excited to meet her because she seems like a
- 26:21Speaker 2: genuine human. But it's always a risk when you meet
- 26:23Speaker 2: some of these artists because you're like, are you going
- 26:25Speaker 2: to be a good person?
- 26:27Speaker 1: I think she will too, But I know how you
- 26:29Speaker 1: feel with that because I remember when I was at
- 26:31Speaker 1: Cox a couple of years ago, I was trying to
- 26:33Speaker 1: do this podcast where I was interviewing people who are
- 26:35Speaker 1: getting famous up to TikTok for music uh huh. And
- 26:37Speaker 1: I interviewed Madison Beer, who, by the way, you recently
- 26:40Speaker 1: got engaged to Justin Herbert, who is and I quarterback.
- 26:43Speaker 1: I don't know. I was terrified to talk to her
- 26:45Speaker 1: because she's so strikingly beautiful that you kind of assume
- 26:49Speaker 1: that someone that beautiful and that talented and that rich
- 26:51Speaker 1: like she, do I want to talk to some random bitch.
- 26:52Speaker 1: And Jackson Bull Florida. She was so nice to me
- 26:55Speaker 1: that when she started dating Justin Herbert, I was like,
- 26:57Speaker 1: I can't even be mad because she was so kind
- 27:00Speaker 1: to me and gave me a great interview that she
- 27:02Speaker 1: didn't have to give. And you know, I'm like, I'm
- 27:05Speaker 1: glad that she ended up not being like a bitch
- 27:07Speaker 1: like I fully expected.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It's so refreshing because there are some I remember we
- 27:10Speaker 2: did like a big rock show when I first got started,
- 27:13Speaker 2: and I was in charge of interviewing all the bands,
- 27:14Speaker 2: and I don't know, I guess it's just the energy
- 27:16Speaker 2: of that, like all World, where I just sat there
- 27:18Speaker 2: and I was interviewing them and I'm like, you guys
- 27:20Speaker 2: don't give one singular f of who I am and
- 27:23Speaker 2: what I'm asking. Yeah, they don't want to be here
- 27:24Speaker 2: at all, and I'm like, I feel so awkward, like
- 27:26Speaker 2: I was told to do this. You all were told
- 27:28Speaker 2: to do this, Like let's at least have fun with it,
- 27:30Speaker 2: I know. But then you get some refreshing artists. Like
- 27:32Speaker 2: that's cool that Madison Beer is like that, because I
- 27:34Speaker 2: remember she came through and I just got started the
- 27:36Speaker 2: same kind of deal. Like she was one of the
- 27:38Speaker 2: first artists I met and we like clicked for like
- 27:39Speaker 2: a quick second.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Was like oh cool, yeah, oh hey, she's like a
- 27:42Speaker 1: chill gown.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Yeah, like super cool, like we made it.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I made her laugh, and that's kind of like people
- 27:47Speaker 2: in the company were like, oh wait, we're gonna have
- 27:48Speaker 2: you interview artists because you make them just chill. And
- 27:51Speaker 2: then the other artist that I will say it was
- 27:52Speaker 2: like so refreshing that almost felt like a bro was
- 27:55Speaker 2: like Benson Boone before he blew up and I sat
- 27:58Speaker 2: down with him like him and I like the brought out.
- 28:00Speaker 3: For like thirty minutes.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Oh that's fun.
- 28:02Speaker 3: It was so cool because I was like.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Bro, like, okay, you want to hang out after now
- 28:06Speaker 2: that's not gonna happen and it definitely won't ever happen again.
- 28:09Speaker 2: But it was one of those artists I was like, Okay,
- 28:11Speaker 2: you're a cool dude. I'm glad you're successful. Yeah, where
- 28:14Speaker 2: it's others where you're like, how the hell did you
- 28:16Speaker 2: make it?
- 28:16Speaker 3: How why are you here? And they make you feel
- 28:18Speaker 3: like crap, But that's cool.
- 28:20Speaker 2: I have a feeling Stella Lefty will be like that,
- 28:22Speaker 2: where she'll be a cool, probably down to earth human
- 28:25Speaker 2: who just has a really.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Cool voice, can say we knew her when hopefully.
- 28:28Speaker 2: She continues the success, because that's what I was talking
- 28:31Speaker 2: abby about before too, is like you had so many
- 28:33Speaker 2: artists and TikTok that blew up quick and then you
- 28:36Speaker 2: never heard frohim again.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah, like one hit wonders, Yes to the modern one
- 28:39Speaker 1: hit wonders.
- 28:40Speaker 3: That's I wonder what they're doing. It's now I really
- 28:43Speaker 3: am curious of like how long did that money last?
- 28:45Speaker 3: Are they still performing?
- 28:46Speaker 1: Like?
- 28:46Speaker 3: What's that song? He did a couple extra songs? But
- 28:48Speaker 3: you know that artist that did why you always in them?
- 28:51Speaker 1: I was thinking of the exact same song. It's so
- 28:53Speaker 1: funny that you brought that up because I remember being
- 28:55Speaker 1: obsessed with that song when it came out yeah mood
- 28:58Speaker 1: and thinking this is the greatest song ever? When is
- 29:00Speaker 1: he coming out with more?
- 29:01Speaker 3: Twenty four K Golden I think was his name.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought we interviewed him.
- 29:05Speaker 3: I don't know, did y'all do it? Jazz I interviewed
- 29:07Speaker 3: him here.
- 29:07Speaker 1: I think it became popular before I was allowed to
- 29:10Speaker 1: do things in the company. Oh good doja Cat? I
- 29:12Speaker 1: thought was gonna be a one hit wonder. I remember
- 29:14Speaker 1: when Says came out. I remember thinking, Oh, this is
- 29:16Speaker 1: gonna be one of those songs that's really popular, and
- 29:18Speaker 1: then like, I'm never gonna hear from her again, and
- 29:19Speaker 1: then she's huge.
- 29:21Speaker 3: That song Astronaut in the Ocean, You remember that song?
- 29:24Speaker 2: God, I can't think of the lyrics right now, ah,
- 29:26Speaker 2: because now like all I can think about.
- 29:27Speaker 3: His MOODA was in the mood.
- 29:30Speaker 2: That dude in general. He had like one other song
- 29:32Speaker 2: and then I never heard from him again. He was
- 29:34Speaker 2: like a young kid, he was like eighteen, and the
- 29:36Speaker 2: song just blew up and it became one of the
- 29:38Speaker 2: biggest songs. We still play it here, and so it
- 29:40Speaker 2: makes me wonder. I'm like, does dude still get paid
- 29:43Speaker 2: well for it? Is he still performing? I would love
- 29:45Speaker 2: to know the other guy Astronaut in the Ocean was
- 29:47Speaker 2: the other dude that I interviewed, and he was like
- 29:49Speaker 2: an Australian rapper and that song blew up, like absolutely crushed.
- 29:54Speaker 2: That was the only one I ever started saw and
- 29:56Speaker 2: it just sucks because I'm like, I wonder what that
- 29:58Speaker 2: feelings like. We're like, oh my god, I'm yeah, it's happening. Here,
- 30:01Speaker 2: we go like gather around friends and family.
- 30:03Speaker 1: It's probably very overwhelming, like to go from zero to
- 30:06Speaker 1: sixty really fast. Like I think it's sometimes good to
- 30:08Speaker 1: have a slow rise so you don't really realize that
- 30:12Speaker 1: your famous happening, because I think when you have like
- 30:14Speaker 1: a switch flip, it can be like, oh my god,
- 30:16Speaker 1: this is so much.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I can only imagine how overwhelming that would be.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Because I got a chapel roone. I think she got
- 30:21Speaker 1: way too famous, way too fast, Like she's too talented
- 30:24Speaker 1: for her own.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Good ooh, that's a good one, do you know what
- 30:26Speaker 3: I mean?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Like I think if she had had like one or
- 30:28Speaker 1: two more years to open for people before having a
- 30:31Speaker 1: big break, I think she'd be more like a Sabrina Carpenter,
- 30:33Speaker 1: where I feel like when Sabrina Carpenter got famous, she
- 30:35Speaker 1: was ready for it.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Whereas I Sabrina grinded it out for years.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I feel like chapel got super famous really fast. And
- 30:44Speaker 1: when that when your reality shifts, but your life is
- 30:48Speaker 1: the same, like when you were the same, but everything
- 30:50Speaker 1: around you is shifting. I don't think you know how
- 30:51Speaker 1: to adjust to it.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because you're like, oh, there's so many new
- 30:55Speaker 2: things coming at you. And imagine all the people that
- 30:56Speaker 2: are now trying to get to you that you're like,
- 30:58Speaker 2: who the heck do I trust?
- 31:00Speaker 3: Where do I go? Yeah? I bet it could be
- 31:01Speaker 3: a very isolating.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Isolating, probably overstimulating if people are constantly coming up to
- 31:05Speaker 1: you in public or like catching you off guard and
- 31:08Speaker 1: you don't know if you're safe or not, and now
- 31:10Speaker 1: all of a sudden you have to have security and
- 31:12Speaker 1: you're not used to that, and now you're in the
- 31:14Speaker 1: press if you react wrong. So I can empathize with that.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Yes, I give like a lot of artists a lot
- 31:20Speaker 2: of I guess a lot of grace, Like Chapelone's one
- 31:22Speaker 2: of them. Worth Like she was on the headline so
- 31:24Speaker 2: many times for like being quote unquote rude. Yeah, are
- 31:27Speaker 2: not her nicest self, And I'm like, yah, what would
- 31:30Speaker 2: it be like wherever where you go, someone's literally screaming
- 31:33Speaker 2: at you.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it might be a little weird.
- 31:36Speaker 2: And then you're getting pictures of every moment and everything's recorded.
- 31:38Speaker 2: You're gonna have a couple off moments. Imagine like in
- 31:41Speaker 2: your car when you're driving. All the things that you
- 31:43Speaker 2: roll your eyes out or yell at all that's now
- 31:45Speaker 2: put out into the public. That would kind of suck.
- 31:47Speaker 2: I think we'd all have our angry, mean moments.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Well, hopefully this leb we have coming out to Scutdy
- 31:52Speaker 1: a happy life tomorrow doesn't act that way.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Now that's a celebrity that will never have a bad
- 31:56Speaker 2: day because.
- 31:57Speaker 1: They think we do have to go to dress rehearsals
- 31:58Speaker 1: for it.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's literally now alright, Yeah, let me
- 32:02Speaker 2: go get my shiny suit on for Scottie and Abbey Live.
- 32:04Speaker 2: All right, So we'll be doing a podcast from the
- 32:06Speaker 2: live show that you'll get to see and experience once
- 32:09Speaker 2: tomorrow happens.
- 32:10Speaker 3: So stay tuned.
