- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts right now. Welcome back to the Three O Take
- 0:17presented by Chinook Cedry. This is episode 562.
- 0:19I'll be your host, Kyle Corwin. I'm here with my Co host and
- 0:24just dear wonderful friend Nate Reyes.
- 0:34The last thing you said to me before we hopped on this
- 0:36episode, you said I hate baseball.
- 0:37So I feel like this is a great day to talk about it.
- 0:42We got a lot of things to get into here, some things that I
- 0:45know you're just thoroughly going to enjoy talking about.
- 0:49We're going to talk. We're going to talk some socks
- 0:52Yanks. We're going to talk about your
- 0:54favorite team in the NL, the Pirates, who you just can't talk
- 0:59about enough. Yeah, I mean, every time we talk
- 1:03about the Pirates, he said, please, Kyle, can we can we make
- 1:07sure we cover the Pirates next episode, too?
- 1:08I just love the Pirates. We're going to talk about the
- 1:12the the Baltimore Orioles and some other items as well.
- 1:17But before we do any of that, we got to talk about the
- 1:21unfortunate news of Zach Wheeler being done for the year.
- 1:31I'm pissed. I'm going to keep it real with
- 1:34you. I'm pissed.
- 1:35I've been pulling for this guy to win a Cy Young for years now.
- 1:39And every opportunity that this guy gets a he's been, he's been
- 1:45at or near the the top of the Cy Young voting for what seems like
- 1:50every one of the lasts 5 years I feel like and just either gets
- 1:56robbed. I, I feel like or there's
- 1:59something that happens like this and the guy's chances get cut
- 2:03short and now we're, we're finding out that he is out for
- 2:06what's expected to be 6 to 8 months following the the
- 2:10surgery. To.
- 2:13Square way thoracic outlet syndrome, you sort of alluded to
- 2:18knowing a little bit about this and and having some background
- 2:20on this, what, what all does this entail?
- 2:26I don't fully know. I'm not any kind of doctor.
- 2:32I think there was the the update that there was a blood clot
- 2:38situation. I can't really speak too much
- 2:40about like the the thoracic outlet syndrome, I believe.
- 2:46Sorry mom, I don't mean to like out you but like my mom had
- 2:49something similar a few years back when I was in college and
- 2:52it was she had a rib removed and I want I trying to remember it
- 2:57but I feel like this is what she had.
- 3:01And if for those who don't know, like your highest rib is like up
- 3:04near your collarbone, so it kind of adds up with it being close
- 3:08to the shoulder. Yeah, they said in the in the
- 3:13article that this this surgery typically entails the removal of
- 3:18a rib. And I'm just like this so
- 3:19nonchalantly thrown in there as like a footnote like, Oh yeah,
- 3:22Zach Wheeler may or may not have a rib removed.
- 3:24I if. You didn't know if you didn't
- 3:27know that that was like a thing, if you didn't know that a rib
- 3:31could be taken out of your body. I remember hearing that for the
- 3:35first time and I was like, what do you mean?
- 3:36Like, how is that? How is that a thing?
- 3:39How is that going to solve anything?
- 3:42But it is a pretty serious issue, obviously.
- 3:46And it is like it it's like a life thing.
- 3:48It's not, you know, I, I think it's difficult to always have
- 3:55the lens of like a fan in our sport in mind.
- 4:00But like when you have blood clots, when you have this type
- 4:02of situation, it's you got to remind yourself, it's like that
- 4:07this is kind of like a life decision that was made.
- 4:12But it when she had it removed, she had like, it's, it's not
- 4:18fun. It's a pretty serious thing.
- 4:20And she had to wear this like at least right after the surgery
- 4:24because like when you're when you're learning how to like
- 4:27breathe without a rib, what that you've had your whole life,
- 4:31you're like your body when you're sitting in this hospital
- 4:35bed. And if you're sitting up, she
- 4:36said that like there wasn't really like every once in a
- 4:39while you could find this perfect angle of not laying flap
- 4:43and not sitting up all the way that that provided some type of
- 4:46relief. And she couldn't really sleep at
- 4:49night. You're not laying on your side.
- 4:50Like there's like a lot that goes into that.
- 4:52And then she'd requested they came in with like this huge like
- 4:57corset strap thing that like, it's like this harness that kind
- 5:03of just like squeezes your and compresses your body to where
- 5:07your ribs aren't like relaxing down as you're inhaling,
- 5:13exhaling kind of thing. So crazy to even consider it,
- 5:20but also crazier to imagine getting back into book like a
- 5:31competing phase, you know what I mean?
- 5:35Like getting back to an athletic phase where you can compete at a
- 5:38high level, the highest of levels.
- 5:40We got to remember that like it's, it's like there are levels
- 5:44of having to like learn how to breathe again and like training
- 5:47your body how to get something removed from it.
- 5:50It's not very simple. So he's going to have to learn
- 5:55how to throw again. He's going to learn how to like
- 5:58go through that whole process. It's.
- 6:00That's tough. And you, you brought up a good
- 6:02point and I'm guilty of it. I I mean I could not have.
- 6:05We all are. I could not have been more
- 6:07guilty of it right off the top. I'm like, I'm pissed, dude, this
- 6:10guy loses his chance at another Cyong.
- 6:12And you bring up a good point like this, like a a very serious
- 6:18condition here that Zach Wheeler is is facing and a a tough
- 6:21decision had to be made. And, you know, I got to be able
- 6:25to step back and be like, there are things, as much as we love
- 6:28baseball is as dedicated as we are, as fans, as dedicated as
- 6:33these players are, like sometimes you have to step back
- 6:35and realize like it's like this is this is more.
- 6:38Important to he, He. Protects his health and and you
- 6:42know, the rest of his life with some with with the decisions
- 6:45like this. So like we said last time, when,
- 6:48when the news officially broke about Wheeler, you know, you,
- 6:53you, you wish for a healthy recovery.
- 6:55You wish nothing but the best for, for Wheeler and his family
- 6:58and, and just hope that he can for his sake.
- 7:00Because you, you know, this guy's a competitor.
- 7:02This guy just wants to get back out and, and continue dominating
- 7:05the way he has pretty much for the entirety of his career.
- 7:08And you just hope that he can get back quickly and, and
- 7:13healthily and, and continue to do what he does efficiently and
- 7:17effectively. So yeah, just some some tough
- 7:20news for the for the Phillies, tough news for Wheeler, tough.
- 7:24Tough to like just sit here and and like pencil them in or
- 7:30Sharpie them. I I should say to like
- 7:33automatically been be in the NLCS and like have a I'm not
- 7:39going to say like a shoo in attempt at the World Series, but
- 7:42like it felt that way. It's felt that way for a good
- 7:47two months now of just really good baseball, top of the NL.
- 7:55Like removing an ace in a Cy Young candidate.
- 8:01I don't care who you are. I don't care how deep your
- 8:03rotation is. Like that is a blow.
- 8:06It, it, I mean, it really is. But we can honestly, you, you
- 8:12circle back to the team of destiny conversation every year,
- 8:16you sort of you sort of pick out a team around the league and
- 8:20you're, you're, you're sort of keeping an eye on them going OK,
- 8:22like, is this going to be the team that sort of sort of fits
- 8:25that label? And I'm not saying just yet that
- 8:28that's the Phillies, but I, I will be curious to see how this
- 8:32team continues to play over the remaining month and change of
- 8:36the regular season. Because if they can, if they can
- 8:39keep winning, in fact, if they can even figure out ways to sort
- 8:43of roll through this last month, it might be worth having a
- 8:47conversation of like, OK, are, are the Phillies going to be
- 8:50this team that even though they similar to we, we mentioned it
- 8:53last time we talked about the Wheeler news similar to the
- 8:56Braves with Acuna. You look at the Braves, you're
- 8:58going, there's no way you can absorb a blow like losing A and
- 9:02what do they do? They go out and win the World
- 9:03Series. So if the Phillies can can, you
- 9:06know, keep their heads above water and even maybe go on a
- 9:09little bit of a roll here in this last month, it's like, all
- 9:12right, maybe their rotation is deep enough that it can absorb
- 9:15this blow. But to your point, it's it's a
- 9:18blow nonetheless. Nobody wants to lose a guy like
- 9:21Zach Wheeler. That's a That's just a fact.
- 9:24I thought I, I thought it sounded familiar by the way, I
- 9:27texted my mom and I said, hey, when you had your rib removed,
- 9:29what was the reason for that again?
- 9:31Thoracic outlet syndrome. Yeah.
- 9:36And she said, man, I mean, I'm not going to out my mom's health
- 9:39here on on on live social media, but she's had some stuff and
- 9:44that I remember that one being like one of the tougher things
- 9:47she's dealt with. So you just hope that like,
- 9:51again, like just kind of taking that step outside the lines a
- 9:55little bit. And I know that's that's what
- 9:57we're here for. Look, we're not doctors.
- 9:59We don't know all the details. We're here to cover our our
- 10:02favorite sport. But it is hard to remind
- 10:07yourself. It's like, you know, this is
- 10:09this one isn't as like a oh, it's a baseball injury.
- 10:13He didn't blow his ACL out. He didn't blow his elbow out.
- 10:16This is just kind of a freak thing that like sometimes people
- 10:21get and you just hope that like #1 priority is that he as a
- 10:28human, as a person and for his family, that he can get back to
- 10:32full health. And then from there, it's like,
- 10:35you know, I hope he does get the chance to compete at at his
- 10:39maximum again. And like, I hope he gets another
- 10:42bit at a Cy Young because like, you're right, dude, he's been so
- 10:47good for so long. And like, he is at that point of
- 10:52creeping into, I don't know what the overall numbers look like.
- 10:56But I can guarantee you that if he was keeping up at this rate
- 11:00that there was a Hall of Fame consideration or conversation
- 11:03that was going to start to be had.
- 11:05So you hope that he's able to get back to that level.
- 11:10I don't know. I don't know, man.
- 11:12It's hard for me to just slot in the Phillies.
- 11:14I understand the destiny thing but like.
- 11:18I mean Chris Sanchez, his his his fellow fellow rotation mate.
- 11:25He'd probably be an ace anywhere else.
- 11:26Also in the mix for Cy Young here, like let's not lose sight
- 11:30of that. So going back to the point about
- 11:31what that rotation looks like, I think that it's not that they
- 11:37just have depth, they've got Cy Young caliber arms, plural
- 11:43multiple that they're able to work with.
- 11:45So I that's. Suarez went out and dealt today
- 11:47too, so it's like they have depth.
- 11:50That's I'm telling you, man, even you know, sans Zach
- 11:54Wheeler, that rotation is going to be something to behold this
- 11:57offseason or excuse me, this postseason.
- 12:01Speaking of the postseason, do we think let's let's switch
- 12:04gears here to what I believe your your most highly
- 12:09anticipated topic of the day is? Yeah, let's do this do.
- 12:12We think, no, look, I'm going to, I'm going to take the
- 12:18proverbial Red Sox hat off here for just a moment.
- 12:22OK? I have AI have a literal hat on,
- 12:25but I'm going to take the proverbial hat on.
- 12:27And I want to ask you, one of the most intense Yankee fans
- 12:32that I know so much to the point where I didn't even really text
- 12:36you. I appreciate it.
- 12:38The last three days. We we've, you know, I've, we've
- 12:42learned over the years that things, things can often go
- 12:47unsaid between us during series like this.
- 12:49We're, I think we're past the point of ribbing.
- 12:52You just know, you know what I'm thinking.
- 12:54I know what you're thinking. And we kind of have this.
- 12:57And we both know what we're dealing with whenever.
- 13:01We're on the low end of that. We both know what our wives are
- 13:05dealing with. Oh yeah, Oh, yeah.
- 13:09But I want to ask you some of the hard hitting questions here.
- 13:13We need to let it air out. The series isn't even over.
- 13:15I mean, as of as of right now, they haven't.
- 13:17We're still in the others on the other side of Sunday night
- 13:21baseball game for the series tonight, but three straight wins
- 13:26for the Sox and absolute bludgeoning on Saturday.
- 13:33Roman Anthony making his mark Thursday night, sort of
- 13:37introducing himself to the Yankee fans that may have not
- 13:40been all that familiar with who he was.
- 13:43A lot of talk. I I did text you last night,
- 13:48However, I didn't I didn't say anything in response to the
- 13:50game, but I did say I text you and I said, hey, your quote
- 13:53graphic from a couple weeks back about Aaron you saying that
- 13:56Aaron boot needs to be fired. Posada would be a dream.
- 14:00And it hit a lull after I had posted it, but I noticed a lot
- 14:04of comments. Some, yeah, it must have hit the
- 14:08Yankee stratosphere because it got picked up by some pretty
- 14:12distraught, some pretty distraught Yankee fans.
- 14:16And it's starting to starting to pick up some traction with some
- 14:19with some pretty angry comments. So let me ask you this.
- 14:25And I even see it in the chat here from our from our dear
- 14:28friend Pudge. Maybe he doesn't get fired
- 14:32tonight, but when does the when does the conversation about
- 14:36Boone being let go actually begin to get serious?
- 14:39Because I feel like it's been nothing but a talking point,
- 14:43something that people like us, these mainstream media networks
- 14:47can easily just float around as a as a topic to debate.
- 14:51But I don't feel, and you correct me if I'm wrong, I don't
- 14:54feel as though the conversations have actually gotten serious
- 14:57about what it would look like to have a Yankees team managed by
- 15:01somebody other than Aaron Boone. Is that are we, are we even
- 15:04getting anywhere close to that you think?
- 15:07I think the only way it happens is if, if Cashman gets fired and
- 15:12I'm, I, I, I need that to happen.
- 15:15I want that to happen. I need this overhaul of, of
- 15:19philosophy to change. I think the voice in the
- 15:23clubhouse is important. And I think that you got to have
- 15:31like, I don't know, I, my only reference is, is the Yankees
- 15:34that I grew up with. That's my only reference.
- 15:37And it was successful, obviously.
- 15:39So I, when you look at like, if I'm not saying that's the only
- 15:43recipe to have success, but when you look at that, you have a,
- 15:49you have a captain that goes out and is only worried about
- 15:55winning. And then you have these role
- 15:57players that just kind of slot in and fit in.
- 16:00You have your quiet leaders, you have your emotional leaders, you
- 16:04have your policing that happens. And that's why I brought up the
- 16:08name of like a Posada is because like for again, we've talked
- 16:12about this a few weeks ago about you as a Sox fan, like Veritec
- 16:16was a captain, but Veritec was very like, this is how we play
- 16:21here. And you got to have that vocal.
- 16:25You got to have that watch how I do it and lead by example type.
- 16:30Like there's got to be this right recipe to create this,
- 16:35this winning culture, if you will.
- 16:39I think I think Aaron Judge is a great captain.
- 16:42I I think he is probably learning as he goes.
- 16:49But this whole buddy, buddy, I'm going to back you, I'm going to
- 16:54support you no matter what kind of it's just it's done.
- 16:58It's not working and. A little bit of a tip between a
- 17:03little bit of a misunderstanding, a little bit
- 17:05of drama here between Judge and Boone I'm I'm reading about.
- 17:09I don't know, it's just like it's this coddling that I just
- 17:12don't understand. And I, I, I can get behind
- 17:18players wanting to play for a, a player's manager.
- 17:21I understand that philosophy, but if you don't have someone
- 17:26else in that clubhouse, and I think Stanton kind of tries to
- 17:30play that role of like policing it, but it's just it's not
- 17:35working. This doesn't work.
- 17:37They're they're soft. There is no bounce back.
- 17:40There's no attitude, there's no punch you in the mouth, There's
- 17:44no step on your throat. There's no embarrassed.
- 17:48I'm embarrassed as a Yankee fan. Why is there no embarrassment on
- 17:53their end? It's this weird combination of
- 17:57like it has players have to play well, obviously managers have to
- 18:02say and do the right things and press the right buttons.
- 18:05Your front office has to develop the correct roster.
- 18:10And when you look down that path, they've passed on names.
- 18:17Bryce Harper never even got an offer.
- 18:22We passed on Corey Seeger for Anthony Volpe.
- 18:27We've shipped out, I don't know, near 1/2 a dozen catchers for
- 18:34Austin Wells there. There's a there's a development
- 18:41issue, there's a scouting issue, there is a look in the mirror
- 18:46issue. There are so many issues that go
- 18:49beyond Boone, so I can't just sit here and lay it all on his
- 18:53at his feet. There's a lot to go around here
- 18:56as far as blame goes. And I don't know if I can
- 19:02specifically peg it in in, in any One Direction, but I can
- 19:06tell you that this doesn't work. And for for this team to sit
- 19:13here and continue to gaslight their their their fan base for
- 19:17this entire era, it just doesn't make sense.
- 19:24I can't do it. Kyle, let's go to you.
- 19:29Yeah. Yeah, I just had quick something
- 19:31to say. OK, so honesty hour here because
- 19:34you for the last we'll we'll just say last 2-3 weeks I have
- 19:44been on you every time. Dryer and even though my there's
- 19:50my wife scrambling to get to the dryer.
- 19:52Sorry about that. Love that.
- 19:53Hey, that's life. That's the business we call
- 19:56show. No, I've been on you for the
- 19:59last 2-3 weeks. Any time that you bring up like,
- 20:04oh, the season's over, man. I can't watch baseball anymore.
- 20:08I'm on the football. I got my fantasy draft coming
- 20:10up. That's the only thing I have to
- 20:11look forward to. And I would look at the at the
- 20:14wild card standings and be like, what are you talking about?
- 20:18I'd want to like reach through the camera, smack it across the
- 20:21face and be like, what are you talking about?
- 20:24Now you get it. I got I had a little change of
- 20:26heart after this weekend showing from the Yankees.
- 20:29I go I I get it because this if this is what you've had to put
- 20:33up with all year, despite it's insane, despite holding a wild
- 20:37card spot, the fact that you know, again, we've talked about
- 20:40the American League is weaker this year.
- 20:42If this is sort of the the the lackadaisical, lackluster team
- 20:48that that you've had to watch as they've strolled out there, I'd
- 20:53be kind of frustrated. Too.
- 20:54That's what I'm saying, man. Is that like you?
- 20:57It's this false hope that you get during certain stretches.
- 21:04Obviously I was high. I was on a high.
- 21:07After the deadline, I feel like certain buttons are pressed and
- 21:11you're like, makes sense. That's a good button.
- 21:14I think you pulled the right trigger here.
- 21:16I like that button. But it's so frustrating that
- 21:22you're seeing the same thing happen over and over again to
- 21:27where at a certain point, it doesn't matter who's on the
- 21:29roster. It's bad defense.
- 21:32It's contagiously bad offense. Anthony Volpe, do you want to
- 21:36talk defense? Not good.
- 21:38Horrendous. Not good, just betting.
- 21:42Ball hit his way into the the the third the. 3rd go down the
- 21:47series by the way. What are we doing?
- 21:49How are you going down to your knees on ground balls so often?
- 21:52What is that? Haven't they doing?
- 21:55Didn't they say he wouldn't have a job if you hadn't met Jeter
- 21:58back in the day? Like is there any, any truth to
- 22:01that? Because there's no way.
- 22:02And the same go, like we said for Boone, The same goes for
- 22:05Boone. If he doesn't hit that home run
- 22:06in 2003. What are like are are we having
- 22:10different conversations here because there is a lot of a lot
- 22:16of weird misconstrued loyalty being shown here when I don't
- 22:22know that it's entirely deserved or at the very least it's it
- 22:26maybe it was initially, but I think it's run its course more
- 22:30so with Boone. Volpe is a different situation.
- 22:32Boone's been there much longer, but how like it?
- 22:37I don't want to. I don't want to keep, you know,
- 22:40barking up the Boone tree. But let's let me ask you, this
- 22:44was this was this weekend. And I, I don't want to be a
- 22:49victim of the moment here, but haven't watched them go up
- 22:53against what I believe to be a post season team in the Boston
- 22:56Red Sox this weekend and have the showing that they had.
- 23:00Again, we haven't even played the 4th and final game of the
- 23:02series, but even just the first three games of the series.
- 23:07I don't know that the Yankees are the the way that they're
- 23:11built right now. I don't know that it's a post
- 23:13season team. So with that said, was this
- 23:17weekend their their funeral given, given who they're going
- 23:21up against, given the way the weekend went?
- 23:24And, you know, I feel like we've reached a boiling point with
- 23:27some of these things that we've talked about like Boone and and,
- 23:29and, and other things. Is there hope for this Yankees
- 23:33team? Laura doesn't think so.
- 23:40She says afternoon name Kyle. Yankees are toast.
- 23:42I mean, they just cut right to it.
- 23:44I'm not going to full on say they they missed the post
- 23:47season. They have a they're they're
- 23:51facing, they can't beat good teams.
- 23:53They don't know how to beat anybody that's good.
- 23:56Anthony Volpe is trying to turn to.
- 23:59What? And gets nobody.
- 24:01Out. I don't know what that was.
- 24:02That was the one of the most insane.
- 24:05There's there's so much, there's a lack of baseball IQ.
- 24:09It's crazy. That's a wide issue.
- 24:13All right, That is, but it's clear here as well.
- 24:18I don't think that I can fully say they missed the post season
- 24:26because I think there there's enough talent on the roster to
- 24:32keep it afloat and the schedule is really bad the rest of the
- 24:35way. They're they play well against
- 24:38bad teams. You saw what they did in it.
- 24:40I think they had something insane.
- 24:45It was like 12 or 14 home runs in A2 game series with the Rays
- 24:48before this series last week. Clearly, they unloaded all of
- 24:53their offense. 100% they don't know how to.
- 24:56They don't know how to beat anybody that's good.
- 25:00They're not going to make a run in the postseason.
- 25:03I think there's some flexibility that comes around when when
- 25:07Judges is going to bounce back to the outfield here in the
- 25:09coming weeks. I think that the official
- 25:14trigger needs to be pulled on rotating between Caballero and
- 25:21Ahmed Rosario at shortstop and Volpi's.
- 25:24It's just it's done. It's got to be done.
- 25:27It's horrendous. Both.
- 25:29He's one of the worst qualified shortstops defensively and
- 25:33offensively. It's got to be done.
- 25:36They've already kind of like started to force Ben Rice behind
- 25:40the dish more than Austin Wells at this point.
- 25:46Which, by the way, he had a little bit of a rough show in.
- 25:49Early in the series too. You can't blame him.
- 25:51You can't blame him because he spent the last two years trying
- 25:54to figure out first base and not catching and then you suddenly
- 25:59he starts hitting surprise. That's why we kept him around.
- 26:04He started hitting and doing that.
- 26:05And then you're like, oh, well, we have a, we have ADH.
- 26:10So oh, oh, we brought in a first baseman.
- 26:12So maybe we'll try him at catcher again.
- 26:15You're like, oh, that's great. By the way, the catcher across
- 26:20the across the diamond in the other dugout who was in an All
- 26:23Star game this year was something that you said no to
- 26:27for an Uber driver. I, I don't I it doesn't compute.
- 26:34There's the analysis of their own team does not check out.
- 26:42It doesn't make sense. There's something off with the
- 26:45entire organization on how they evaluate, how they scout, how
- 26:51they develop, how they coach. All of it needs to be washed
- 26:57away and and rebuilt entirely. Now you know why I'm I've
- 27:09mentally moved on to football. I think I saw something on the
- 27:13on the broadcast the other night where it said this is their and
- 27:17you may have seen it. It's like their what, third or
- 27:20fourth longest title drought? Yeah, yeah.
- 27:26I think there was 1 like the longest ones in the 20s.
- 27:30It was like the pre Babe era. Yeah.
- 27:33So we're like right. We're like they're I think, I
- 27:36think it's a third, I may be way off on that, but I think it was
- 27:38right around third longest title job.
- 27:41But they continue to like you said, I think gaslighting is, is
- 27:45is a keyword here. They continue to just, you know,
- 27:48push the company line. You know, we're, it's right in
- 27:51front of us, we're doing the right things, yadda, yadda,
- 27:55yadda. They continue to lose.
- 27:57They continue to get embarrassed.
- 27:59They continue to not win the World Series title, which is the
- 28:02ultimate goal. And I'm not saying it's easy or
- 28:05that it should be easier that it, it should be something
- 28:08that's viewed as guaranteed or automatic, even with a team like
- 28:11the Yankees, who have historically been good for the
- 28:13last quarter century, just not good enough to to to get it
- 28:17done. I just to that point, though, I
- 28:20don't think they're doing themselves any favors by, again,
- 28:24you know, showing loyalty maybe where it doesn't need to be
- 28:27shown any longer or continuing to slot personnel in positions
- 28:31that they don't need to be in. Again, we're not, we're not in a
- 28:35front office, but there's certain decisions that I just
- 28:38feel like 9 out of 10 people could look at and be like, well,
- 28:42maybe we should go with this option instead.
- 28:44But the Yankees continue to assist upon insist upon their
- 28:47own way, and that's why they're at where they're at.
- 28:50Yep, yeah, they see. I told you last year that that
- 28:56team was not good enough because I watch them everyday and this
- 29:01is the stuff I see. The valleys are so, so, so low,
- 29:09lower than any other playoff contending team.
- 29:14Every team has bad stretches. Every team has bad performances.
- 29:17This is hands down this chapter, this era.
- 29:22It's just it gets so bad, then we get told it's it's baseball.
- 29:32We get told that. Well, our evaluation says that
- 29:38he'll turn it around. Our evaluation says he ranks
- 29:41higher than that. It doesn't work.
- 29:46And like, say what you about Yankees fans, but for the most
- 29:49part, we're pretty tapped in and we're pretty involved and we're
- 29:52pretty into it. And like, fans in general across
- 29:56all sports have more access to stats and are watching more than
- 30:01they ever have. So you can't sit here and tell
- 30:08us that we're wrong when we're just clearly watching it,
- 30:12there's an eye test and there's actual stats confirming our
- 30:15opinion and you're telling us we're wrong for years now.
- 30:22It's insane. You know what else is insane?
- 30:26Nate Cal Raleigh stands alone as the all time Homer leader as a
- 30:44catcher. I think he he's already got 2 on
- 30:47the day. He hit his 48th about 1/2 hour
- 30:51ago, just hit his 49th. Well, I say all time,
- 30:58specifically season in the season, obviously 49 homers for
- 31:02Cal Raleigh. What a feat for big dumper man.
- 31:06And on this beautiful Sunday, I'm I'm, I'm looking at it right
- 31:10now. Could not be a better day for
- 31:12baseball in Seattle. It's cool, man.
- 31:21It's cool. Is it?
- 31:24I don't know what it is, but like it just hits harder.
- 31:28It hits harder when you have offensive catchers that are able
- 31:33to do this. They're able to do this kind of
- 31:35damage man. Not to mention a well above
- 31:39average defender as well. Like this is awesome to see.
- 31:45It's good to see for Seattle too.
- 31:49They need it. Hey, since you're talking to Cal
- 31:51Raleigh, who wins the ALMVP? No, I'm just kidding.
- 31:54We're we're not we don't we don't have to.
- 31:56We don't need to go down this road anymore.
- 31:59But big news for Cal Raleigh. Again, to to clarify what I said
- 32:03earlier, not the not the all time leader in home runs as a
- 32:08catcher, but for a single season has passed Sal Perez, who had 48
- 32:16prior to this. And honestly, if this year
- 32:19hadn't happened with Cal Raleigh, I would have been like,
- 32:22does a catcher end up hitting more than 40?
- 32:23Like the 48's, a lot of homers, a lot for a catcher.
- 32:27And I would have been if you would have told me, hey, nobody
- 32:29hits. No, no catcher hits more than
- 32:3148. I'd have been like, yeah, that
- 32:33that tracks. I'm I'm with you on that.
- 32:35But Cal Raleigh having having an absolute career year good for
- 32:43good for big dumper. Wanted to just put a little plug
- 32:46there as it happened. Mirror, mirror moments ago.
- 32:50But let's let's talk, let's talk about another guy that's could
- 32:58be could be quite a star. Bubba Chandler made his debut
- 33:01this weekend as a bulk reliever. But I'm over it now.
- 33:07I, you know, I, I got all my frustration out.
- 33:11You know, whatever I've, I said my piece, You still think it was
- 33:16anti climatic and I was informed that teams are not in the
- 33:20business of trying to be. You know, you feed into the, the
- 33:25climactic nature of of events like this, but you know it.
- 33:29My response to that is what else do the pirates have going for
- 33:31him? Like why, why, why, why pull the
- 33:34trigger? Why empty the chamber with with
- 33:36the one bullet you had to, you know, to bring him up for a
- 33:42debut against the Rockies as a bulk reliever.
- 33:44But you know, that's just me. What do I know?
- 33:48Any who's had had an exceptional outing, allowed just two hits,
- 33:53struck out three across 4 innings, and got a save to which
- 34:00I thought was wild, becomes the first pitcher to throw 4
- 34:04scoreless innings and record a save in his debut since saves
- 34:07became an officially recognized statistic in 1969.
- 34:12So this is exactly I think what the Pirates were hoping for to
- 34:16see him sort of right the ship after little little bit of a
- 34:19rocky stretch there in AAA, sort of sort of got things back on
- 34:22track and and hopefully continue this this continue to build off
- 34:30the success he's he found in his debut.
- 34:32So I'm still looking forward to what that rotation will look
- 34:36like with him in it. I don't need, I don't need Bubba
- 34:38Chandler in a in a bulk reliever role.
- 34:41I don't either I. Don't want to fixate on that,
- 34:44but it's just I'm we're still looking ahead to next year.
- 34:47I think I've started to wrap my mind around the fact that like,
- 34:50obviously innings are kind of under watch here.
- 34:53I don't know what his innings were like as a starter in the
- 34:56minor leagues, but that's got to be a part of the equation.
- 35:00I think as a reliever, it allows you to have that flexibility.
- 35:04If there's success, if there's failure, there's not that
- 35:07pressure of having to pitch every fifth day, There's not
- 35:11that locked in schedule of having to pitch every fifth day.
- 35:17As much as we want to see success, as much as we want to
- 35:23see dominance the way we saw it with Mr. Skeens, I think this is
- 35:31probably the smarter way to go about it.
- 35:34I do agree with, I think it gave them flexibility because if he
- 35:38comes in as a starter and debuts and goes seven shot, you know,
- 35:42just lights out, you're kind of locked in is like, oh, he's a
- 35:46starter, I guess. And then we don't know what to
- 35:48do where the innings are at. Do we get chastised for shutting
- 35:53him down? Like there's a lot of that going
- 35:54on. So I can see coming in as a
- 35:58reliever, let's ease in. If he still struggles, he can
- 36:01hide behind the struggles. If he succeeds, we can manage
- 36:04that. Stop.
- 36:05There's a lot of a lot of sense that.
- 36:09Stop. I don't I don't want to hear it.
- 36:12I don't want to hear it. I don't care about I don't care
- 36:16about what it might look like if he struggles and, you know,
- 36:19approaches and innings limit. I don't I want to see, I want to
- 36:23see Pirates pitching like the world on fire.
- 36:29That's what I want to see. OK, that's that's what I want to
- 36:36see. Stupid song to get deleted off.
- 36:40It's never coming off the soundboard unless you fly out
- 36:43here, break into our home and and you know how to remove it
- 36:49from the soundboard. That's the toughest part.
- 36:52I feel like I could get it. No, that's the toughest part.
- 36:54Not the flight out here, not breaking into the house.
- 36:57It's just figured out how to take it off the soundboard.
- 36:59That's right. Yeah, Well, no, No Fear.
- 37:03It's it's not coming off the soundboard that that is staying.
- 37:07Speaking of staying, gosh man, these Segways are some point
- 37:12some, well, Besayo is staying in Baltimore.
- 37:14They locked them up with an 8 year extension where $67 million
- 37:19includes a $5,000,000 signing bonus.
- 37:23Obviously the the talking points to come from this is what does
- 37:28this mean for Adley, which we did talk about when, when the
- 37:35call up happened. Yeah, briefly, but obviously now
- 37:39that the Orioles have, you know, reaffirmed their commitment to
- 37:43Besio, it does beg the question, like, what does this mean for
- 37:47Bradley? I saw that there.
- 37:51Obviously he he can catch. He did see some time at first, I
- 37:56think I read more than 100 games across 5 minor league seasons
- 38:02and then obviously can slide in as ADH.
- 38:04So there is some positional flexibility there, sort of a
- 38:07typical, the the typical versatility you'd get
- 38:10positionally when it comes to a guy that catches you know you
- 38:13can slot him in at first you can obviously DH him, but I don't my
- 38:21initial reaction is that this doesn't necessarily mean
- 38:24anything long term for Adley. I think the Adley thing is sort
- 38:28of its own conversation. I don't know that this move
- 38:33directly reflects the Orioles desire to move on from Adley.
- 38:38Because. See, I think you can make both
- 38:40work if you want to make both work of.
- 38:43Course, it's just you got to see we need time.
- 38:45It Yeah, I. I what I don't want to see is a
- 38:50full on commitment to either one behind the dish.
- 38:57I think the flexibility needs to start getting developed with
- 39:01adly of getting some first base time.
- 39:07I love what it does to a roster to have a flexibility of a
- 39:10backup catcher that doesn't have to just sit there as dead weight
- 39:13on the bench. Great.
- 39:15Point. And and can provide a stick to
- 39:17DH and can provide the glove at first because that's such, it's.
- 39:23So what does that do to your roster to have that one spot
- 39:27freed up to not have to, you know, completely worry about a
- 39:32backup catcher? It's going to be interesting.
- 39:37I, I don't want to see Paseo fully transitioned to a first
- 39:42base in DHI. Don't want to see him because
- 39:46what if Adley struggles over the next few years and then all the
- 39:49sudden he is coming up on on the end of his control and Basayo
- 39:53hasn't caught in two years and the Orioles are like, well, you
- 39:57know, Adley hasn't succeeded, so we're going to let him walk.
- 40:01Let's try and get Basayo to catch again.
- 40:03Like they got to figure out how to manage this properly or vice
- 40:06versa, you know what I mean? Or vice versa.
- 40:10Like say Adley just starts kicking it into gear and Sam,
- 40:14well, Basayo starts kicking it into gear and then you're like,
- 40:17well, what do we do? They're both catchers.
- 40:20Like they have to. Develop some ability to to play
- 40:24first base. I hope they go about this the
- 40:28right way and I hope they both succeed.
- 40:29I've, I've never really jumped on the adly train.
- 40:37I've, I've, I understood how good he was, but I, I've never
- 40:43really viewed him as the savior in Baltimore.
- 40:49But a little competition never hurts anybody, by the way.
- 40:52I think we forget that. No, no doubt.
- 40:55But I think to that point, I think the reason we, you know,
- 40:59not, not that we're rewriting history, but I think we did get
- 41:02excited when, when Adley first came up because if I'm not
- 41:05mistaken, he was the, he was like the first, yeah of the
- 41:09group. He was like the first of the
- 41:11baby birds to really come up and and make a a splash, pun
- 41:15intended. And I think that's why we're
- 41:18like, OK, OK, we're here. Like we're, we're, we're right
- 41:23around the corner from what this could be.
- 41:25And as it progressed, we're going OK, like we're falling
- 41:29right in line. Like this is tracking exactly
- 41:31how it's like we got gunner up here, We're getting some of
- 41:33these other guys up here and we're like, OK, we're we're,
- 41:38we're coming up on 100 win seasons.
- 41:40We're we're making it to the postseason.
- 41:42And then, you know, obviously things sort of took a step back
- 41:46and now we're going, OK, we need to re, you know, reset, reassess
- 41:50things. And now with with Paseo up, it's
- 41:53like, OK, now we really got to take a step back and, and take
- 41:57into account what we have here, especially considering the lack
- 41:59of what they did at the deadline and regarding moving personnel
- 42:03and maybe offloading some, some of the depth that they had.
- 42:08So it'll be interesting to see. I don't think the, the window
- 42:12has closed for the Orioles, but some some harder, some tougher
- 42:17decisions I think are going to have to be made.
- 42:18And you, these are decisions that you can't kick down the
- 42:21you, you can't kick these cans down the road and be like, oh,
- 42:24we'll just figure it out later. Like you.
- 42:26If you want to to keep this window open, you're going to
- 42:29have to make some signings, something that I think Orioles
- 42:32fans were anticipating more of at this point in this window,
- 42:38signings that are actually noteworthy and not just like,
- 42:41well, we'll throw what was it, 40 something million at Tyler
- 42:46O'Neill like that. That's that's kind of like a
- 42:48Band-Aid really. So I I don't know, we'll see,
- 42:53but. I need to have an honest
- 42:55evaluation too, and make sure that the pieces that move on
- 42:58from don't bite them stours. That hurts, you know what I
- 43:04mean? Like, see him doing what he's
- 43:06doing in Miami. It's like you got to figure out
- 43:12who to keep. Then they do have to figure out
- 43:15who to like, you can't just sit on it.
- 43:19You got to move guys because there is this, I think time
- 43:26period where like you can't allow these guys to just sit in
- 43:30the minor league system for too long and then kind of get ruined
- 43:36and lose their value. You know what I mean?
- 43:38Like it's this is not easy to manage.
- 43:41I guess they tanked for too long.
- 43:48Closing the book here just some items it I didn't feel as though
- 43:53it warranted a full segment here but I just wanted to say a quick
- 43:57little something on the Padres Dodgers series.
- 43:59I hope the Dodgers fans that were running their mouth after
- 44:03the sweep of the Padres like a week ago take take a good look
- 44:07in the mirror when they wake up Monday morning.
- 44:10We're on those kind of we're on the verge.
- 44:13We're on the verge as as the Padres go up two to one on the
- 44:20Padres go up to one on the Dodgers here in the third.
- 44:23We're if you know, there's still a lot of ball left.
- 44:25But if this were to hold, we're looking at a sweep and the
- 44:29opposite direction of what we saw a week ago and we saw
- 44:31dodgers fans running their mouth a lot of a lot of Dodgers fans.
- 44:34Sorry, this is more just me getting this off my chest.
- 44:37This doesn't really have much to do with, you know, anything that
- 44:40we've talked about. But for sure, my, my quote, my,
- 44:44my, my quote graphic as I'm as I've alluded to on here, were
- 44:48from a couple episodes ago where I said if A7 game NLCS started
- 44:52today between these two teams, I'm taking the Padres.
- 44:55I'm 100% taking the Padres. A lot of Dodgers fans taking
- 44:59their victory laps and here we are again.
- 45:01If this were to hold they they've already won the series.
- 45:04But if they go on to sweep, we're looking at a a tie, a tie
- 45:09NLCS in this hypothetical scenario.
- 45:11So I don't know what what exactly what victory lap the
- 45:14Dodgers fans were were running, but any who's just just goes to
- 45:19show you how finicky this game can be sometimes and how quickly
- 45:22things can change. Very true, But I'm kind of
- 45:26hoping that, you know, we keep this score 21 because I've got
- 45:29Yamamamoto on on the fantasy bump and I really need a good
- 45:33show in from him. So let's let's hope this score
- 45:36holds. However Speaking of on the bump,
- 45:41Shane Bieber made his debut over the weekend.
- 45:43Struck out nine across 6 Indians of one run ball in his debut
- 45:49with the Jays 1st. At a certain point we're going
- 45:54to have to have a a serious discussion about because they
- 45:58have not faded, dude, not falling off.
- 46:02For I mean, if there were Blue Jays fans that wanted to take
- 46:06it, I'll hear, I'll hear out those victory laps.
- 46:09If there were Blue Jays fans that were coming after me,
- 46:11coming after you about being like, well, I don't this isn't
- 46:14going to this isn't going to maintain.
- 46:17This isn't going to last. I was saying that.
- 46:21We're eating crow on that for sure.
- 46:23I'm eating crow. They, they can take their, they
- 46:25can take your lap on that. Shane Bieber is a as a scary
- 46:29addition to an already scary Blue Jays team.
- 46:33Yeah. So, but even aside from how the
- 46:36Jays are doing, just good, good news for Shane Bieber.
- 46:39I think it was like it's like almost a year and a half, I
- 46:41think away. So love to see that for for
- 46:44Biebs, some unfortunate news. Austin Riley's out for the year
- 46:50having core injury surgery. I want to be honest with you.
- 46:52I don't entirely know what core injury surgery is.
- 46:56Me neither. I thought that was just in
- 46:59reference to where the injury was, but apparently core injury
- 47:03is something more specific. I don't know.
- 47:06It's I'm not a doctor. I don't know.
- 47:10Can't tell. You couldn't even.
- 47:12Guess This is why I keep my core soft.
- 47:20There's no, there's no straining over here.
- 47:22They're not there, you know. Well, I mean no disrespect, but
- 47:29I don't know. I don't, I don't know that
- 47:30Austin Riley is is the chiseled Schwarzenegger that maybe we
- 47:36think he is. Country strong.
- 47:37How far, how long is he out? I mean like how long is the
- 47:41recovery? Obviously he's done, but like,
- 47:44he's fine to come back next year on time, right?
- 47:48I would imagine so. There's no rib.
- 47:52There's no rib being removed, you know.
- 47:56Yeah, I mean, we're not talking like an Adam and Eve situation
- 47:58here. Like you're hopefully just, you
- 48:00know, back back for opening day, I think should be pretty.
- 48:05I would have had to imagine if this was something more.
- 48:08Well, more more. Urgent.
- 48:10There's 17 games out of it so. Still.
- 48:14Hopefully, probably smart just shut him down.
- 48:18Still hope well-being a Speaking of being out of it, the Rockies
- 48:23were eliminated from post season contention today.
- 48:26So that's tough. You know, they gave it their
- 48:29best go. We'll maybe run it back next
- 48:32year, see if maybe next year is the Rockies here October.
- 48:36You'd hate to hate to see a repeat.
- 48:38They are currently -349 runs on the run differential.
- 48:47Which, you know, the numbers don't tell the whole story.
- 48:50You know, the Rockies were it's, it's a shame.
- 48:53It's a shame the season is only 162 games because the Rockies
- 48:57were right on the cusp. They were in the corner.
- 49:00They were turning the corner and they were getting ready.
- 49:04I mean, they're five and five in their last ten.
- 49:06They granted they lost four straight, but they were, they
- 49:08were so close. They were so close.
- 49:12Four games. Again, win, loss, record doesn't
- 49:17tell the whole story. They were.
- 49:20They were. They were better.
- 49:28Yo. Just trying to be positive here,
- 49:31man. Just trying to be positive.
- 49:32Keep it up, keep it up. How are we feeling?
- 49:39Positive. Negative about the Craig Kimbrel
- 49:41addition to the Astros staff. Can I just, I'll just go ahead
- 49:50and say what you think of your answer.
- 49:52I don't, I don't necessarily think that this is going to do
- 49:54much of anything. I feel like this is just kind of
- 49:56another blip on the radar. Be like, oh, that's interesting.
- 50:00Has a few saves, maybe some important saves, has some blown
- 50:04saves. And then maybe he finds a job
- 50:07somewhere else or just retires and we kind of go from there.
- 50:13I don't. I don't.
- 50:14The the hater thing is pretty serious.
- 50:17Yeah, it's on the it's on the 10 day.
- 50:22It's let's see. I don't know if or, excuse me,
- 50:25the 15 or no. He's yeah, he's done for the
- 50:28year. That's right, haters.
- 50:30Yeah, yeah, it said he would take him three more three more
- 50:37weeks to ramp up after his three-week shutdown, meaning he
- 50:41likely won't pitch again in the regular season.
- 50:43So and that was a week ago. So I think.
- 50:46There would have to be like a deep post season run for see him
- 50:49return. No, I don't I mean no
- 50:57disrespect. How how did how did the
- 50:59opportunities keep coming up? You're telling me there isn't
- 51:03someone better in your organization?
- 51:07You're telling me there's not a better option?
- 51:09It does look, well, sorry about the hater thing.
- 51:11It does look like October's still in the mix.
- 51:15So not ruling that out. But either way, still tough blow
- 51:19for for the Astros. But yeah, I'm I'm with you.
- 51:22Like is there? Is there not a better option?
- 51:27Why did why did teams act like anyone in the minor league
- 51:32system is like bagging groceries like they're they're
- 51:37professional athletes? I'd like to give one of these
- 51:39guys a shot. Well then whatever.
- 51:42On the on the flip side, you bring in a guy like Craig
- 51:44Kimbrel and then everybody acts surprised when he goes out and
- 51:47blows 2 saves in a weekend like that's.
- 51:50Insane. That's just what he does.
- 51:52No disrespect, one of the best to ever do it.
- 51:54But at this stage in his career, what, like, what are you really
- 51:57hoping for here? And I get it.
- 51:59You kind of have to make tough decisions when when some of your
- 52:02better arms go down, you're like, OK, well, what do we do?
- 52:05But going back to what you said, there's got to be somebody else.
- 52:08No, I don't know. Gosh, just enough.
- 52:12Enough is enough. And lastly, here we'll end on a
- 52:16positive note. Adrian Beltre, did you let me
- 52:20let me get this on, let me get this up here.
- 52:22Did you see the statue that they put it's.
- 52:27Bad. Dude, no, no, no, no.
- 52:30I'm putting it up. I'm putting it up.
- 52:32I'm putting it up. Check out this statue.
- 52:35Dude, look at this thing. Tell me that.
- 52:44I mean, that's that's top shelf. I need to see the face.
- 52:49I don't care about the face. Nobody's looking at the face.
- 52:53The pose is all you need. You know, they could have went,
- 52:56they could have went something stupid, like, like just him
- 53:01standing there, him waving to the crowd.
- 53:03No, you go with you go with Beltre on a knee and you call it
- 53:08a day. And not to mention the the
- 53:13funny, the funny part about it. Let me see if I can find this
- 53:15picture. One of the first people, one of
- 53:22the the. Picture with him standing next
- 53:24to it is sick. One of the Here we go, here it
- 53:30is. One of the first people to touch
- 53:32it after it was unveiled. Was Elvis Andrews touching this?
- 53:37Yeah. I thought that was fantastic.
- 53:39That I mean, that's that's good. That's good baseball lure right
- 53:44there. I think the face looks pretty
- 53:47good. Job well done.
- 53:48Because I feel it's it's been a rough stretch of statues as of
- 53:53late in the in the sports realm. How are we missing so often
- 53:58these? Days like it's just like, how
- 54:00are these? I feel like that's a very
- 54:02specific job. Literally one job.
- 54:06Make it look like the person. Can't mess it up.
- 54:09You see the Tom Brady 1? It's like 15 feet tall.
- 54:14It's the biggest statue of all time.
- 54:17Well, I mean, there's Statue of Liberty outside of Gillette
- 54:21Stadium bro, like. Was it outside or was it was it
- 54:28outside Gillette? Why do I feel like it was like
- 54:30near the tunnel? Was it not?
- 54:32I think it's outside I get. Yeah, I guess that'd make sense.
- 54:34I don't know why I thought I saw.
- 54:35Well, they. Have like a weird entrance into
- 54:37their stadium but and also the chose like another props to the
- 54:45Beltre is that like the statue is just like so spot on with
- 54:51like a pose moment like that. He's known for that.
- 54:56Exactly. Like the Brady ones, just like,
- 54:59like there's so many sick Brady snapshots that are like holding
- 55:05up the the Lombardi Trophy, like the.
- 55:07Or like the the holding the head.
- 55:08The holding the head, like there's so many, like, sick
- 55:11moments that you could have just been like, this is the one we're
- 55:15going with. OK, I don't know, man.
- 55:18And to your point about make it not like having so many misses,
- 55:22like all it should have taken was for these teams and these
- 55:25organizations who, you know, have situations where they have
- 55:29statues, all it would take is for them to look at the the
- 55:33Ronaldo statue. What?
- 55:36Are the worst. If we need, we need to have a
- 55:40lockdown process of hiring whoever were like.
- 55:44It needed to be a a very real look in the mirror across across
- 55:49the statue game. Yeah, the the sculptors out
- 55:53there, I hope you, I hope you took a good look in the mirror
- 55:57and ask yourself, am I, am I really cut out for this?
- 56:00Yeah, the D Wade one like a month ago, Not good.
- 56:04Yeah, he was like 6 inches tall and that one wasn't he?
- 56:06Is it? That's the AI one, the Allen.
- 56:09Iverson 1 is so like. That's so mean.
- 56:12That's so disrespectful, man. What's that about?
- 56:16Come on. That was oh, that was that had
- 56:18been humiliating. Any.
- 56:19News. Yeah.
- 56:21Big good on the Rangers. Excellent job.
- 56:24Big moves. For the Rangers in Beltre, Love
- 56:26to see it. Any other thoughts before we get
- 56:30out of here? I did all right.
- 56:33I did all right. Talking socks, Yanks I.
- 56:35I do appreciate you. I really do.
- 56:37I really do. I don't, I, I don't have the
- 56:40heart to take it. I mean, we, I had to chaperone
- 56:45our our youth. Group to King's Dominion
- 56:48yesterday and we're, we're like like riding bumper cars and I'm
- 56:52watching socks pour on like 7 in the 9th and I'm getting like hit
- 56:57in the back and I'm just taking it and I'm going to got nothing
- 57:00but a smile on my face and I'll pause, you know?
- 57:04First of all, the. You guys, sorry, I had to read.
- 57:14I had to backtrack that I was like, what?
- 57:15What did I say? Yeah, yeah, you got some.
- 57:17Cool, you got some cool chaperone opportunities popping
- 57:21up, man. It's Orioles games.
- 57:23It's amusement. Park summer work summer with our
- 57:26church. You know, it is, it is what it
- 57:28is. But I'm, yeah, I've gotten to go
- 57:29some cool places. But yeah, I'd I'd I was too busy
- 57:35keeping track of our of our little of our kiddos and and I
- 57:38didn't have time to. Doing your job?
- 57:40To really take, take shots at you, you know?
- 57:43I appreciate it. I didn't have the heart, I mean.
- 57:4512 to one. Full transparency, I've I've
- 57:48I've turned multiple games off in this in this series and I'm
- 57:51I'm not watching tonight so. Did you see that?
- 57:54Did you see that clip of Josie McFly after the Roman Anthony
- 57:59Homer on on Thursday night? He said, well, because he
- 58:03streams the games and he's sitting there watching them and
- 58:06you can hear the crack of the bat and immediately picks up the
- 58:10remote, turns the TV off and just turns the stream.
- 58:13Off Yeah, dude. And I'm like, I get it.
- 58:16I, I've been there. Like I'm going to sit there and
- 58:18laugh and I'm going to rejoice in, in watching the demise of
- 58:21the Yankees. But at the same time, I get it.
- 58:23I'm like, I've been there. I I don't even want to.
- 58:27I don't even know what they. Did at this point, yeah.
- 58:29Like I'm struggling to to care about any baseball.
- 58:35So just give me some time once we get into the postseason, I'll
- 58:40oh, thanks. I'll, I'll see if I can turn it
- 58:43around. I don't know.
- 58:45Alex in chats. I'm glad to see Nate smiling,
- 58:47considering the bloodbath, his shake.
- 58:49Yeah, I'm, I'm honestly, I'm, I'm impressed you're even here.
- 58:51So, yeah, and one last one for the for the road Yankees are
- 58:56toast. So I think on that note, we'll
- 58:58wrap it up. Oh, check out the merch.
- 59:02Merch dropped, in case you missed it.
- 59:04Merch dropped Friday. Got some got some pretty sick
- 59:09additions to the shop with the new word mark and just some
- 59:11other things that stay filthy crew neck that you sort of
- 59:15brainstorms. I'm very much adding to my
- 59:18collection once, once it gets a little cooler, there's a little
- 59:21bit of chill in the air, obviously not out there, but
- 59:25there's not yet a little a. Little.
- 59:28Some leaves are falling out of here, so post season baseball
- 59:32right around the corner. But yeah, check out
- 59:34shop3otake.com/shop and we'll see you guys.
- 59:43Oh yeah, that hat's there too. I threw that.
- 59:45I had. I did you a salad.
- 59:47I threw it. I know how much you love that
- 59:49design. I threw it on a shirt there for
- 59:51you. And that's I know.
- 59:52I showed I showed my sister's boyfriend yesterday and he was
- 59:55like that is unbelievable. I got to get one of these.
- 59:58These are nice and the green bill underneath his.
- 1:00:02That's so top tier. Nothing beats an underbill green
- 1:00:08Nothing. It doesn't.
- 1:00:11It's this, whatever that brand is, the classic.
- 1:00:16Yeah, I threw, I threw that design on the on the PEC and
- 1:00:20then on that same shirt, it's on the back as like a large like
- 1:00:23back. Yeah, I'm getting that for show.
- 1:00:27Pretty clean. Yeah, pretty clean.
- 1:00:29Pretty, pretty cool. Check that out and like I said,
- 1:00:32we'll see you guys Wednesday. If you guys ever have any

- 1:00:49at the Air it Out segment of for a lot of teams where we're just
- 1:00:53going to say goodnight to a lot of teams.
- 1:00:57Maybe there's some fans out there that you just need to air
- 1:01:00it out a little bit. DM us.
- 1:01:01Say their, say their. What's the word their?
- 1:01:06You say their team's eulogies. You've said, you've said you've
- 1:01:10said a eulogy for the Yankees on here more than once.
- 1:01:12So I think some fans would enjoy that option.
- 1:01:15Pretty good at it. Any who's that's all I got.
