- Adam Rutz: What is your system? When I first became a business owner, my first couple years were a huge struggle. And looking back, one of the biggest reasons was simple. My system was constantly changing. Every couple months it was change this, try that, add this, get rid of that. And eventually you have to ask yourself, what is my actual system? What are the things and principles that I believe in? What am I trying to accomplish every day? And most importantly, can I explain the why behind what I'm doing? Because this is mental performance too. You can say you want to become more confident. You can say you want to become a better hitter, a better salesperson, a better leader. But if you don't have a system for actually training those things, you're basically trying to drive a car 100 miles an hour while it's sitting in neutral. A lot of effort, a lot of noise, but you're not going anywhere. Think about a hitter. Maybe the last two times you came up with the game on the line, you struck out. Now you're walking back to the plate, thinking about your hands, your timing, your mechanics, the pitcher, the situation, and everything that went wrong before. That's when you need a system. Something simple, like a deep breath. Repeat to yourself: be easy, see the ball, hammer it. Boom. Now you have something you can execute. And the same thing applies in business. When pressure rises, you shouldn't have to reinvent how you operate. You should be able to fall back on the system you can trust. Because remember, simplicity scales, complexity fails. So here's what I want you to think about today. What is your system? Can you explain it simply? Can you repeat it every day? And do you understand the why behind it? Build a system you believe in, then train it, trust it. And then when the pressure shows up, all you have to do is execute it. Mindset, process, Discipline, execution, that's mental performance daily.
