- 0:03Hello, everyone, Welcome to the Millionaire Dentist Podcast, brought to you by
- 0:07four Quadness Advisory. On this podcast, we break down the world of dentistry,
- 0:12finances and business practices to help you become the millionaire dentists you deserve to
- 0:16be. Please be advised we do speak with an honest tongue and may not
- 0:20be safe for work. Hello and welcome. This is Casey Hires back at
- 0:25the Millionaire Dentist Podcast in studio with co host Jared Bridgeman. Casey, how
- 0:30are you sweater collections on point Man? Thank you, thank you. I'm
- 0:33a big fan of sweaters and I'm glad it's getting chillier outside because I can
- 0:37get to break them out. They're awters about the dust dust mine off.
- 0:40Casey. You know next week you're going to be heading to Orlando and that's
- 0:46Florida by the way, for those of you that don't know writing the Orlando
- 0:49Florida and you're going to be presenting some CE. Can you walk me through
- 0:53about our CE course in general Webster's Dictionary to find CE as continuing education.
- 1:00I can tell you why dentists and specialists tell me they come okay and yeah,
- 1:03this one uh, what's the name of it? High Ball and Her
- 1:07high Ball and Harvest at the Ritz Carlton, Right, I mean number one
- 1:11people come and this is in no particular order. All Right. We have
- 1:15it at kick ass places for sure, high Ball and Harvest at the Orlando
- 1:19Ritz Carlton. We're not messing around. This is a fantastic venue and we
- 1:23like to do that. I mean, we've got some things coming up in
- 1:26twenty twenty four. I mean, we're we might be bottling our own bourbon
- 1:29with with a label. I mean, we're going next level. But looks,
- 1:32you know, we want we want something that's nice, but something that's
- 1:34also not uh that's that's still somewhat original, really nice and original, you
- 1:38know what I mean. Yeah, I mean I when we pick venues,
- 1:41I want it to be someplace where if we have a client that lives there
- 1:44and I mentioned this to them, they go, oh, yeah, that's
- 1:46one of the best spots ever. Like we went there for our anniversary last
- 1:48year. That's what That's our goal number one. And so people are going
- 1:51to go because it's going to be somewhere that's that's nice, it's comfortable,
- 1:53it's not I don't want to make fun of any restaurants, so sure,
- 1:56yeah, but we like to have it a nice venue. Ultimately, I
- 1:59have set in on a lot of dental ce like when I go to courses
- 2:01and present all slide in different places. You know, if I'm not at
- 2:05the if I'm not at the cabana, right, And there's so much of
- 2:07it, and so much of it. It's one idea and it's just very
- 2:14basic. Our chief operations officer has done the same thing. There's also some
- 2:17really really good ce don't get me wrong, but there's so much out there
- 2:21it's hard to discern what's worth your time. I will tell you what past
- 2:27people have told us. They've said things like this topic probably matters to my
- 2:32family, my legacy, and my money and retirement more than anything I've heard.
- 2:37Yet I don't get a lot of this. Well, what is the
- 2:38topic? How to master the business side of dentistry? How to understand that
- 2:43most ces and most CEOs in the country are also not the primary producers correct
- 2:49and dentistry. You are the CEO, You were at least five other C
- 2:53level executive hats, and you are also the primary producer. It's kind of
- 2:55a raw deal and dentistry is great, but a lot of young dentists do
- 3:00not understand practice ownership is really really challenging. You can be terrible at it
- 3:07and still make three hundred thousand dollars a year in dentistry. We've seen people
- 3:10make six or seven hundred thousand dollars in dentistry and not be very good at
- 3:15the business. Actually, maybe nine hundred and twenty might be the you know,
- 3:19somebody coming in go and help. But comparatively, like if they had
- 3:23already been with us, how much of that would have been how much of
- 3:28that would Oh we play that game all the time. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:30I mean it's it's a huge number. But the point is there's a lot
- 3:34of ce out there. A lot of times the place will get somebody's attention.
- 3:37But the ones I like the most are the ones that come for the
- 3:38subject matter. They recognize it. They go, man, I'm damn successful,
- 3:43but I feel like I've hit a plateau and a lot of this cash
- 3:46flow insurance overhead. They've done it to the best of their abilities and don't
- 3:51know what to do next. Yeah. So the people that see that subject
- 3:53matter on the business side of dentistry and go, yeah, I want to
- 3:57go there. But the other you know, one of the other ones you
- 3:59mentioned and before we started recording amongst their peers. Yeah, because at study
- 4:02clubs there's peacocky and posturing and posing, and isn't because they kind of know
- 4:06each other enough to kind of competitors. Yeah, this one's a little different.
- 4:12Like our events. I feel like there is a camaraderie amongst the attendees
- 4:15because they don't all know know each other. Some of them do. It
- 4:18may have heard, but they're familiar with each other, so that's nice.
- 4:21I've had pediatric dentists or specialists actually do some referral work on the before and
- 4:27after, which kudos like a little bit of network. I love that,
- 4:30you know, And so it's interesting when they look around the room, they're
- 4:33trying to see these people like me. And while the practices can be different
- 4:38and the situations can be different, ultimately they are like you because they recognize
- 4:42that this is a huge challenge. They've had their enough clinical CE or one
- 4:48trick pony CE that they're all kind of in the same oat. But I
- 4:53say that I also have had people that are almost giving up on the ministry
- 4:57because they can't maybe on different levels of frustration. Yes, right, Yeah,
- 5:00it's a good way to put a good way to put it. Yeah,
- 5:02But ultimately, I mean, I've had people tell me, Casey,
- 5:05it's like you've you've looked at all of my financials? How do you know?
- 5:11Somebody recently actually, as a podcast listener goes, it's felt like the
- 5:14timing was unbelievable. Everything that I've been thinking about and worrying about and contemplating,
- 5:17you hit on one after the other to the point where I looked around
- 5:20and go, these must be paid actors and actresses And this is really a
- 5:25setup for me because this is just dead bull's eye. So again we get
- 5:29to the heart of things and it's intense, but it's intense, it's informative.
- 5:35It really makes you think, but also it's not at all mental beat
- 5:40down. We also include food and drink along with that as well, or
- 5:43golf if well, it's like a good workout. It might hurt, but
- 5:46you're better because of it. I say that sometimes at the opening because I'm
- 5:50getting them ready, because some of them look like they've seen a ghost when
- 5:53I hit on some of this stuff. You know, how did he know
- 5:56that? Well, we've been mastering it for twenty years. That's how we
- 5:58know it. Like I mentioned this early about how somebody go are you a
- 6:00dentist? And felt like a dentist added credibility to our subject matter and I
- 6:05laugh and I said, well, no, dentists don't know how to do
- 6:09this. That would be like me trying to do dentistry right now. And
- 6:12they weren't even a practice owner. That was the funny part. But no,
- 6:15we've been mastering this for a quadrant Advisory has been doing it for a
- 6:18long time. We're in a growth mode. So tell me, besides the
- 6:23venue, besides the networking, we've got the CE, can you tell me
- 6:27is there any other wow factors that you do that really really wraps people into
- 6:32this event? I mean it depends on what people are into the best outcomes
- 6:36of the ones that are crushing it, they've hit a plateau and they go,
- 6:40Casey, does your firm help this? Because I try to make the
- 6:43CE about the problems and issues, I take off the four quadrant cape.
- 6:48But yeah, the best ones are the folks that go I would love to
- 6:54chat privately and then ultimately go through a vetting process. We're not deciding to
- 7:00work together, we're deciding to engage in a process to see if we can
- 7:02help you buy millions of dollars, and so those are the best outcomes.
- 7:05But sure, we're we're tasting bourbon, we're enjoying wonderful food. I mean
- 7:10again, we're going to the best places to enjoy all their culinary delights.
- 7:13Most of the time, I just look at them because as a presenter,
- 7:15I don't like to be on a too full of a stomach. So you
- 7:17know, I'm trying to play the martyr card here a little beforehand. And
- 7:21yeah, yeah, but no, it's it's it's and we're efficient, we're
- 7:24respectful of people's times. If we do a bourbon tasting, there's a bourbon
- 7:27raffle, you know. Again, when we're doing heavy hitting topics that cause,
- 7:32you know, work life balance and relationship with kids and wives. I
- 7:36mean, the money affects everything. I've been in events. I've been to
- 7:40a couple of your your events when you're presenting, and I think a lot
- 7:44of people also appreciate the fact that you are timely and efficient and that you
- 7:47know, we start on time. Yeah, no, for the yeah,
- 7:49for the most part, we we want to do that as well, but
- 7:51you know, we've got a I don't know, we've got a handful of
- 7:54I think spots left. The cool thing is we go to venues where it's
- 7:58pretty exclusive, there's only few spots left. But for Orlando, I think
- 8:03we do have a handful left. And so it's one of those things simply
- 8:07click on a link register there's a fifty dollars placeholder, fully refunded once you
- 8:11attend. We had too many people saying they were going to come. That
- 8:13affected the venue size and a whole bunch of details. And you know,
- 8:18we didn't need a bunch of slap dicks from Facebook that weren't even dentists trying
- 8:20trying to come to our events, and so right or you know people you
- 8:24know, I know dentists get frustrated when they get those shows. I have
- 8:28had people come to the events because they needed dental work. I've had an
- 8:31Amazon driver that said he delivers dental stuff. So I mean I've seen a
- 8:35lot. This event is for, in a perfect world practice owning dentists who
- 8:39are ready to go to the next step. But at minimum, you know
- 8:41dentists and specialists that have a and by the way, spouses as well,
- 8:46oh sure, you bring your husband, bring your wife, bring whatever.
- 8:48Yeah, yeah, no, we love that. I mean this has to
- 8:50do with dentistry, but it's how it affects your personal life too, right
- 8:54there. They you know, if they become a client of ours, that
- 8:58the spouse plays are pretty important part of that. Well here, and here's
- 9:01the other thing we're not. We're not selling time shares. There may be
- 9:03one or two people that we end up helping in any room that we're in.
- 9:07We're not we can't help everybody, and so our business model doesn't lend
- 9:11to a quantity shop that we're just trying to get people quote unquote signed up.
- 9:15That's the opposite. We actually say no more than we say yes.
- 9:18But it does introduce us to nice, two nice new folks who may need
- 9:22some help. But what's the worst case scenario? If a dot comes one
- 9:26of our events, you get some free food, you meet some people in
- 9:31your industry, and you hear something that might be thought provoking. Some people
- 9:35will get defensive because I've hit on something that's a nerve, you know,
- 9:39So maybe somebody comes away a little bit irthed. But ultimately, if you
- 9:43know, the next day though, they're like shit, he was right.
- 9:46Well, if you know the emotional IQ and sort of the self awareness is
- 9:48where it needs to be. Ultimately, they're gonna be like, yeah,
- 9:50that bothered me for a reason because I need to work on it. And
- 9:54a lot of people get takeaways too of these two things. I having now
- 9:58a more clear vision of what good or great looks like. So absolutely well,
- 10:03and this is going to be November ninth, which is uh Thursday,
- 10:07Thursday of next week, which will be pretty exciting for you. And I
- 10:11also know we have a really really great place picked on in Phoenix as well,
- 10:15Scottsdale, to be precise, all of an ivy that place rocks yep,
- 10:20So that'll be a great one. And then after that in December,
- 10:22we're going to be in Louisville, Kentucky, roll Laulville, loll Laulville.
- 10:26Love it. But hey, listen, if you are interested in and attending
- 10:30one of our events, register, bring a friend, bring a spouse,
- 10:31that's right, Register as many people as you want to bust out that you
