Transcript
- 0:10[SPEAKER_04]: The red zone Joshua with me, Simon Clancy, and as always my special guest, Carl Krabs, Ray, does he sports?
- 0:15[SPEAKER_04]: How are you mate?
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing great and it's a monumental day.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: I finalized my last grade.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_04]: Look at you, glass.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_04]: Wow, so where's the last plane?
- 0:25[SPEAKER_04]: He's great.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: The last player that got a finalized grade was Dain Key,
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it's the labor of love of doing like macro draft content, but also being dolphin specific is my macro all 32 classes done and now I got away all the grades and it's just funneling with some spreadsheets and whatnot, but now I have to like do a dolphins version of tailoring all the grades with the traits.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: for all these players now.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like I'm done, but I'm not really done, but at least like I'm not staring at the spreadsheet counting down the number of players that I have to finish finalizing and watching.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's the hardest part.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_04]: It never ends.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_04]: It never ends.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_04]: Because you know the first week after like two and a half weeks or now will be like, okay, twenty, twenty, seven, let's bring one.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_03]: Let's not make it to this.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, where we go?
- 1:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I've got it in ever.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_04]: And anyway, it's two weeks yesterday when it all kicks off.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_04]: So let's get straight back in to our position group.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_04]: So they were going to be off-ball lineback because Ed Rush has defensive line and let's get straight into it.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_04]: Mate, where have you landed on those off-ball lineback?
- 1:44[SPEAKER_04]: Because what's your top five as we head into it with 13 days to go?
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so Sony style is my top overall player in the class top line.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I have our Valreys kind of edge linebacker hybrid.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: So you could put him in either one, just full disclosure.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: I know some people like to only tuck him in one, but they think he could play both.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're counting our Valreys is the fits right to play some off the ball.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: He'd be number two.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: Then I have Anthony Hill, Texas CJ Allen, Georgia.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: I have late one early two grades on both of those guys ideally they'd be like 33 to 40 in an ideal draft class and where I think they'd be picks on that I finished with two more second round grades to go to top six, Jake Golday Cincinnati and Josiah Trotter, Missouri.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_04]: interesting because we've got pretty much the same thing.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_04]: I've got the top six actually, I've cheated a bit like you.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm the same, I've got styles, Reese, Allen, Hilla, flips, and so I've got Allen, then Hill, Gold Day, and then Carl Lewis, who I look at, I don't know what he's going to be, he's small, he's the head overhang, he's a safety, he's a Nicki man, worry, whatever he is.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_04]: I don't like moving people around specifically out of their college positions and let's pay in the obvious just because I don't think that's my decision to make.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 3:00[SPEAKER_04]: It's like something might view as a weak side like Macco and he'll do all sorts of different things.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_04]: Big Nick or whatever.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah and I just couldn't keep him out of that group.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_04]: I just like him so much.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_04]: He's such a fun player to watch.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah and interesting that we've
- 3:19[SPEAKER_04]: But for a guy that only had 12 pure outside russia's last season as an edge, I just kind of think, you know, I'm going to put him in the position that he probably played a bit more often.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_04]: We remains to be seeing where he ends up playing, but that's kind of where I'm where I ended with.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_04]: What do you think of what should take on C. Jalan?
- 3:39[SPEAKER_04]: Because I've seen them.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_04]: a few mocks with him out of the first round.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: I've seen him go as high as 16 in some of the mocks in terms of the kind of the trusted people that we that we deal with in this business and this industry what's your what's your take on him and how he fits and where he ends up.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: top 16 top 20 for Rayfield's really rich and I like CJ.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has a chance to be a really sturdy starter.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think his best traits from everything that I've heard around the program is kind of the football IQ and the way that he sees the game and can kind of quarterback the defense.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think at a perfect world, maybe you'd feel like he had like a hang your hat on physical trait, whether that was like size and length or power or ranginess, I think he's good in all those areas and then I think he's cerebral with with how he plays.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: styles kind of has the, the freakish size and freakish athleticism, but the goal goal day is this super, and I have, I have Allen above goal day, but goal day does have a trade, right?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's a big player who's uniquely qualified to play in space.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm very out of the team.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: A player than CJ Allen is.
- 5:00[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: I think Allen's very clean projection.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to hit a double with your early top 40 pick, great.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: But if you're aiming to hit a double at off ball linebacker in the top 20, I'd ask what your aspirations are for for how you're approaching this year's class.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, fair enough.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's interesting that both of us didn't have the Buckress Award winner in our top sixies really in Jacob Rodriguez.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_04]: What's sure?
- 5:26[SPEAKER_04]: I know we've talked a little bit about him in previous episodes and suddenly about the odd field, I think in terms of his sub-industrial staff and the kind of hinterland he has in his life, but what should take on Rodrigues?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_04]: And where did you end up with him in terms of grades?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_04]: Because I saw that Dane Brugler had him as his number two.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, my Macca.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: I love the way he plays and I'll say that, I think you know the way he plays with his hair on fire and it was hard for me to reconcile because he tested better than I thought he would.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like his testing across the board was was good.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Good, good, good awful linebacker testing numbers and I didn't know if it was like just how fast
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't juice him too much for the testing versus where I felt his his tape was when I sat down and I finalized everything.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: So he's behind Trotter for me.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't really third round right on on Rodriguez if some teams really are enamored and and think that.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: What those two second round guys that I have our gold A and Trotter and full disclosure, I do have Kyle Lewis as a safety and he is the same great as Jay gold A does as far as on a 100 point scale.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: So he's a second round grade that I have.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: I just consider him to be more of a safety with how I chose to grade him because that's where he got the best grade.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: When I have guys that are in between, I usually put him in the position room where for my grading, it's going to give them the better grade.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's where Kyle Lewis lands.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to say it's a more well-rounded player than Trotter or Gold A, like I'd buy it, I think there's again, I think there's more defining physical elements of those two guys that I got more excited about with how they play with physicality.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: But Rodriguez, I think he can be a plug-in starting my climbbacker.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I didn't see the testing and when
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to go back and gas up all your your numbers that that I'm grading you off of.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he was already interested on to me as well because obviously came into the year.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_04]: Most people were talking about because of legit first round there and
- 7:46[SPEAKER_04]: You know, probably had to wear a few hats for Peacockowski last year.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I thought he'd had to blitz a lot more last year, then previously broke her bone in his handling, it's Georgia, it's Mayor Sloodym, but I thought it was intriguing that Tony Pauline said that Scouts had said that a pro-day that he had a really soft body, and they needed a lot of sort of physical, weight-room work, where I'm
- 8:09[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know that you obviously had him third.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_04]: What was your take on Anthony Hill's season just in terms of, because it doesn't necessarily to me feel like he took a step up that maybe I thought he would?
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that's fair, but you go back to kind of the ways in which he was used that felt a little different, right?
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: And for me, that's where it felt like the disconnect happened.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: The one thing I did appreciate was how much more effective he was
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: with his tackles.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: He cut the tackle miss tackle rate by like 75% from the previous season.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: That was a huge thing for me that I kind of as I'm reconciling.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, like
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: was hoping for maybe another leap in splash play.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he was relatively fine with his his coverage responsibilities this year.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, he had two intersections and I think the passer rating went targeted deep significantly from the previous year.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I did see some growth, but he didn't really see
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: everything come together.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: So for me, as a guy that's young, he's he's 21.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's maybe maybe he does need the weight room time, but like at six foot three, two, 38 of comfortable with the size and the range.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: And now we're a better tackling player.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: And we saw some growth I thought in past coverage stuff.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: I just thought it it incrementally trending in the right direction when you looked at him through context of how he was asked to play.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: I thought yeah, he's a massive sea hoax fan, which is really annoying for his parents who are any massive dolphin fans, but he went to a his dad bought a machine on the jersey.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_04]: The impact was on sale for 20 bucks and he never took it off for like six years and it's just a seahawks obsessive.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_04]: So You could end up in Seattle and that would be the perfect fit for him.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_04]: Who's your sleeper pig?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_04]: What who did you land on as a sleeper in this in this group?
- 10:13[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, let's see I'll tell you mine.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_04]: So I ended up with Jimmy Rolder of mission and my things are really interesting diet at 62 and a half to 38 was just a kind of backup of specialty where in his first three years at Michigan, but actually just
- 10:29[SPEAKER_04]: thrived, I think last year, you know what I mean, the high football IQ, the closing speed, just kind of jumping off the tape every time I watched Michigan or seeing players playing, that I was looking at playing against Michigan, the cover traits, the disruption as a blitzer, I thought he looked pretty sticky and man-to-man coverage, I thought he looked really
- 10:52[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, I thought he could slide outside and bring some a little bit of edge pressure as well.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I thought he was, I thought he was a really good one year player that you, you know, you feel like you'd feel comfortable taking in the in the mid rounds.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go with Caleb E-Larms or from TCU, explosive, right?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, ran, it was 235 ran and sub-45 had a 40-inch vert had a 10-4 broad, like, real explosive numbers for 235 pound linebacker.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: And when you watch and play, you see it.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: When he comes downhill and he played it in aggressive style role,
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: getting down in the line of scrimmage, shooting gaps, working as a blitzer, what a idea of 25.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: 25 pressures, this past season for TCU.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: So you see a pressure value, you see the range, you see enough density, and I got it at six foot two.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you probably wish he had a little bit more in the way of radius around it.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because he doesn't have great length, but when you're as explosive and and quick triggered as he is, I can see teams that want to be aggressive with their second level players and just say, Hey, we're going to let you off the chain.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: Go hunt the football.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's not going to be for everybody, right?
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: But, but you get him in a role where you get a player that's empowered to just hunt the football and in pursuit.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then you give them some past rush assignments and with with your simulated pressures or if you're heavy blitz team, I think he's a player that can make a pretty tangible impact on a defense.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think he's a, I think he's a really solid player as well.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_04]: Just before we get out of lineback as one guy, I was quite keen just to touch on and you feel like, you know, I've got some kind of lower.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_04]: level guys that I really like at Torin York of Texas A&M for example, but guys that kind of six foot or under York being five or eleven and you kind of feel like it would be great if Eric Gentry would just lend them some of his six and three quarter height.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_04]: He's such an intriguing player, gentry, isn't he?
- 13:07[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's incredibly tall at 6, 6, 5, 2, 8, it was 220, 2 at the conmime, it was 220, 8 at the pro day.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, that trouble putting way on, has had some history, I think you retired actually, a bit like Jalen Phillips, because of some concussion issues.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_04]: But he's a really interesting player in terms of just the talent, he obviously is so long, he'd be the tallest middle line back in the league if he ends up there.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_04]: but long arms, physical player can bend, there's got some hip explosion, you know, he can come down heel.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a really good blitzer.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_04]: What did you think about Gentry's game?
- 13:44[SPEAKER_04]: Because there's a lot there to like, but there is some, you know, there's some question marks and there's some comparisons, I think to Isaiah Simmons, which may be a bit, I thought were a bit.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_04]: incorrect, but yeah, I mean, if you place a, you know, if you can say healthy, which is a big year for especially when he's going to the NFL, I just thought there was something there that was quite intriguing for teams in terms of, you know, when he's an overhang or something, but it's off the edge, those sorts of things, just using that length.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think, um, he feels like to me, one of those guys that
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: He almost reminds me more of some of those big college safeties that, you know, some of them transition to linebacker.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_04]: I swear.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_04]: And those guys.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Jamie and Sherwood.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm some master.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: The Dean.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: J. Ron curse.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it can we find like a.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: sub-package passing down specialized role for him that looks something like like what some of those guys have found themselves into.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: Now, sure what's turned into an awesome just every down-off ball linebacker and I don't know.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's not my expectation for Gentry.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: But surely, with all of these big tight-end multi-tight-end
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: Packages that you see teams kind of really starting to gravitate towards.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: He could be somebody's third or fourth Like sub-package db linebacker hybrid type who can Like you said just get out in the overhang right and and use an 86 and a quarter wingspan High zones and you know four skies that force the quarterback to throw around you Those guys are gonna feel that much influence
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: So I got a six on Gentry.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely think he's worth a flyer for grafting and getting in your building and seeing if you can get that to fall in the place and making it work and having him be comfortable not a liability with the other stuff.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, he's one of their, I got a block of guys that are all in that area, like Justin Jefferson, I think is another special team's guy very different body type, obviously.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: Torian York's kind of in that same bucket from a grading perspective for me, Owen Heineke from Oklahoma.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of like that's a big very closely graded collection on the same bucket is like six round guys for me.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, a hundred plus snaps in the slot last season, so you can clearly do it in clearly play in that role.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, but interesting to see where he ends up.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_04]: What about if we move off flybackers and to add rashes and we've done edges before, but where's your, now that we've kind of pretty much culminated our grading, where did you land with your top five?
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: And my top five, Ruben Bane, number one, I will not be moved, you know, air what the buzz is before the draft and all the things that are now, it's good for you guys.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: Our bell Reese checking in in another position group, he would be my number two edge.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: Then I have David Bailey, T.J. Parker, a key measure door Zion, young, are all, you know, Baines of top 10 grade, Reese's a first round grade, Bailey Parker, measured or young are all late one early two grades for me.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, interesting.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_04]: So I ended up with Bay and I kept Reese in the off board line because but I would have put in there a second if if he hasn't had an edge Bailey, a message door with some question marks T.J. Parker.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_04]: And then I just
- 17:13[SPEAKER_04]: and I know exactly the limitations.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_04]: but also just seeing them smoke guys just off the ball.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_04]: Generally, I mean, just in terms of that first step quickness and that elite kind of bend and just the ability to get to the quarterback.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_04]: Plus that kind of dog mentality, I love that the easiest barks in people's faces and these kind of just comes across a massive asshole, which I kind of just get behind.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I'm a big fan.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_04]: We talked a lot about that, Bane.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_04]: We talked a bit about Balee.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_04]: Messed or as an interesting guy.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_04]: because I heard some people talking the other day about the foot issue and some teams potentially very worried about that specifically.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_04]: given his injury history and his age, parlaying that against the year that he had.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, you look at that tape, and I never thought that he benefited from having Ruben Bain on the, he was getting wins of his own accord.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, nothing to do with having Bain, which I thought was fascinating.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think obviously plays the run as well as Bain, but he's a really good pass washer, isn't he?
- 18:21[SPEAKER_04]: And I think a really good player, the foot question will obviously worry teams,
- 18:27[SPEAKER_04]: You know, you know what you're getting with this at all.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_04]: And I think he's a solid late first round player that probably will end up if things are comfortable with the injury, will end up going a bit higher because by the very nature of the fact that he can get after the passer in a league where that's what you need on defense.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, really fascinating evil because there's a what weight do you want to play at because you're played all kinds of different weights and sizes in the two eighties in the media guide to me into the season.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that Jason had him get that I think he was like 265 was waiting at this past year.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_00]: So you got a range of alignment versatility across a six year college career.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: You mentioned this past season.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: It was the first time since 2021 that he played more than 520 snaps in its season, right?
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: So like there's a
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of years with not super high, like a six year player with 2600 snaps defensively, it's not a very high average on an annual basis at the amount of snaps that you play.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: 25 years old end-of-first-year contract, what is he now versus what is he going to be in two years?
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because yes, you know what you're getting, but is this all he's ever going to be?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: Which I think is a legitimate question because he turned five days ago, he turned 25.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: right.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: So I would expect a guy that's a little bit more mature.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's also not a coincidence that Ramello height with Texas Tech is another one of the guys who I thought had a really deep pass rush bag because he's an older guy, right?
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's compared to being 19 or 20 or 21 and just kind of learned and had to rush the passers.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: there's no denying how good his season was and that's why he's in the stratosphere that he's in for me as far as being a late one early two that predictively I would say you know probably gets drafted between 18 and 40 like 20 to 40 like anywhere in there and if you're a team that needs past rush help and you're competitive window and you're not bothered by the age stuff because like hey we need somebody to give us some juice and so we can compete now
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: But he is one of the ones that I just look at and I say if I were putting my own filters and flags and adjustments based off things that I'm not totally privy to being on the outside looking in because we don't get access to the medicals.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: And then if you start to have some of those economic conversations about
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: a second contract and what is a second contract look like and are you drafting a guy to be a one contract player or how comfortable are you that you're going to get to a big second contract and still going to be in the prime is career like those things do very much complicate the conversation from as you're which is why he ends up as if you're including our real race edge five for me but a player that I do very much still like.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, I'm sort of maybe this time last year you're looking at TJ Parker as that, you know, potentially up there with Bane as the one or the one A.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_04]: And I thought he struggled a little bit early on the season.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_04]: I thought yes, I mean, trees and but I thought he came on gangbusters down there.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_04]: down the end of the year and, you know, the 162 10-yard split, the 468, just, I just like where he does physically, you know, I think he really converts speed to power well, that ball rush is excellent.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's a strong swiper, I'd like to see him improve his arsenal, and the past rush kind of bag, as you say, but just a kind of high-mode to die fearless, I really liked
- 22:22[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like he's a guy that people are already talking about as much, um, but could easily end up in that, in that first round.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe he's not in the conversation to be drafted in the teens, to be honest with you with with the profile and the eight.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we just got that talk about a key meds doors 25, T.J. Parker's 21.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, three years starter, at Clemson, really good run defender, really good testing splits.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: finished the season strong was a consensus top 20 prospect in September.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Clemson sucked this year and like I thought he relatively played to his physical ability better than just about everybody else around him on that defense.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: And it's kind of the weird, wonky edge group.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't disagree with you about verse time diversifying the bag.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_00]: But as a guy that plays in the 260s to have the long arm and the power rush that he has, what a great foundation for you to be able to build off of, because you can reduce angles and play through offensive tackles.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: How many guys do we have that come out through the draft and they're all finesse guys and then it's like, hey, you have to be able to win it first contact and get your hands on guys and then deconstruct and reduce an angle instead of playing it's deep angles all the time and trusting your ability to corner and they can't do it.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is a guy that has it the other way.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: He has the hard part down already.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: For me, he's, let me pull up my vertical board instead of having my horizontal board of TJ Parker for me's player 20 in the class.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_04]: He doesn't get told from the 20.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's like, oh, he might sneak into the first round and like, I just don't get it because I see a lot to like.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I know we drop into the conversation each week or kind of a little mimey dolphin nugget.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_04]: He's on the board at 30 for the mimey dolphins.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_04]: I'm having a hard time running up to the podium pretty fast to have that in.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: I would agree.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: And unless somebody else that's like a too good to be true players there, but for Miami specifically, they're missing that player that can play a five or play out in the seven slash nine, right?
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: Like that same player for that versatility.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I think
- 24:39[SPEAKER_00]: Parker's got the physicality to do that, you know, he's got to grow his past rush ceiling to be able to really win from the wide angle stuff.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's better aligned to win either taken soft soft anchor guys down the middle if he's going to play wide or at least he's physical enough where I trust him to to rush from a
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: of five tech and have some success or a six and have some success.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_04]: There's a group of linemen then and you you mentioned Zion young.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_04]: That kind of, I don't know if we're tearing things but maybe you take out the clump of guys that we've talked about.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_04]: We're how fit.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_04]: There's this group of guys, Malachi Lawrence, cashier's how.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_04]: Danny Denice Sutton, who, or Denice Danny Sutton, are Mason Thomas, Oklahoma, where I'm seeing mocked more and more in the first round.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_04]: And then the guy that's still would be my sleeper, who's Jason Barram of, of Michigan, gay backers of, of Illinois, you mentioned Zion Young.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_04]: There's this group of sort of second-tier players, some of whom dripping into that kind of top tier, as it were, that are really solid for teams.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_04]: So if you miss out on an edge in the first round,
- 25:47[SPEAKER_04]: because all those guys aren't going to go in the first round, but you find yourself at 45 or 37 or 51 and there's an actor or a bar or a bar or a, do not identify them there, whatever.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_04]: There's some good players that are going to fall out the first round is essentially what I'm saying.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I have 16 edges on the top 100, right?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I think barms are great call out.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_04]: Love him.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_04]: I love him so much.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: Such a good player.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think he's the nastiest player in the draft.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_04]: He's so physical.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_04]: My god, he's physical.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: and free you wouldn't expect it to size right that that's the part that that is such a pleasant surprise when you kind of start prepping and you say okay how do you test what's the size what's his background okay former off-ball linebacker but then you watch me and you're like yeah he's like a rabid Wolverine is what he is like a pun intended there I guess for the mission won't work but like
- 26:43[SPEAKER_00]: He plays like the Tasmanian Devil, right, is so he's he's a ton of fun to watch on tape.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_00]: I really like gay back is because of kind of as that, like, leader of the second tier for me beyond the names that I mentioned is the the first round and late one early twos.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's the next guy up for me.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love the way that he plays he had a great senior bowl.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's another guy who plays with a great great level of intensity.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of a stocky build.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: not quite the traditional like piano dropped on his head style build that like some guys that like are really compact, but he's not one of these like super long, long torso, long arm guys, but his length is not a deficiency.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think we need place.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I like actors.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_00]: I like Josh Joseph's from Tennessee, where you would talk about length.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: This guy's got freaky length.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_04]: The explosion of the bull with hit, that is ridiculous in that.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I'll save my sleeper for when you ask for you
- 27:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Akas I like as a he's a I think he's a good player and he reminds me a little bit of Brian a Rackpoh Yeah, I think that kind of just a violent run player to he too pollute too as well that kind of you know he's got some past rush marries, but I think he can you know, okay against the run and Yeah, I think he's a he's a good player.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_04]: He was a I think he was a state champion wrestler as well as kind of shows up on on some of his tape.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_04]: My I'll do I mean I've given it away, but
- 28:18[SPEAKER_04]: Jason Barnett, most of my sleeper guy, I just, yeah, I love he was obviously an off ball eyemaker.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_04]: The Wolverine's position coach says he's the most physical player he's ever been around, he's been a Michigan for like 15 years and he just like, this is a kid that was doing 300 squats, 300 pushups.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_04]: when he was nine years old, just to prove how strong he was.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, I just think he's got range.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_04]: He's got twitch, he ran a 458 apparently in high school.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_04]: We ran a 465 in the combine, he's instinctive.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_04]: He just comes up and fills gaps, like he blitz from different entry points.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_04]: He's very physical.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to be really just punching them out and those gaps are some poppin' his hands.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_04]: He's a bit linear, he's a little bit tight, but if you give him a gap, can't I just just blow it up, he's just like, and in terms of, you know, he can drop off as well into those kind of hook curl areas underneath.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_04]: I just think to me, he's just a kind of classic.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_04]: Just he's going to be a pain in the ass for whoever's kind of blocking for for 60 minutes and and I appreciate that that part of his game plus he's played in that kind of pro star ski played under a week martin del week used them all over the formation to take advantage of his It was quickness and his toughness and those sorts of things so you know he just kind of gets it and I think he's going to be a guy who's who's run way to play time is going to be significantly less than perhaps some in this class.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my, my super skewer on Crawford from Auburn.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_00]: Nice.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you told me through three seasons, he had more socks, sacs than Calvaryc Falk.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'd probably believe you.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think the fall, the ceiling is through the roof.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: Crawford, I think it has some really likable upside as a guy that was at, oh, a two-year player at Auburn before, after transferring from Arkansas State.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: I really like the alignment versatility that they gave him to play in a two a lot of the times and play from with and they put him out in the the nickel over top of a tight end flexed down the slot or they tilt him in a wide nine with a tilt and let him speed rush off the edge and you see these flashes of some of his hand counters and ability to set up offensive tackles
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's really a great foundation for a skill set given all of the sim pressure defenses we see across the league with guys that you want to have your your rush line back or drop out into a spot drop and cover in a hook or cover in a flat he did that at all right and I think that's that's a great
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: thing to hang your hat on that no, I don't think he's a 10 plus that guy every year, but if he's a six or seven or five or six that guy every single year that plays 500 to 600 snaps for you and can do and execute some of those shallow zone drops.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think you've got the best version of him, but I think that's a valuable player in today's day and age.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so now he's a I like him to use a lot of a lot of what round these do you can kill Go in.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just going for it.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was going to say fringe top 100 for me.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_00]: So like maybe he sneaks in at the end of The day two and if not like at taste prior one 101 to 125 player for me would kind of early fourth round.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think it would be the floor
- 31:49[SPEAKER_04]: Nice.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to get to the details in a second.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_04]: First of all, I want to talk to you about Malko, environmental day, our response to Florida's trusted mold inspection experts.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_04]: If you're home or office-musty, be aware about what might be hiding behind the walls, then Malko gives you real answers, no scare tactics, and no guesswork, with over 15 years of experience, effortlessly licensed and ensured, serving everywhere from the keys to Tallahassee.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_04]: Because the only thing that should be growing in South Florida,
- 32:14[SPEAKER_04]: at the Dolphins Pay off Hodes.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see what I did there.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_04]: For the whole testing, you can trust called Molecourt Environmental at 95470929898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989898989
- 32:43[SPEAKER_04]: This is a fascinating group and I've got the, I think the player that I love most of all at any position is in this group pretty much, I mean, I've done a way you end up playing in.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, give us your top five festival and then we'll get to some sleepers and we'll go from there.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: Defensive tackles.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Chimilar, Georgia.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: Kane McDonald, Ohio State, Caleb Banks, Florida, Peter Woods, Clemson.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: Celtic fog potentially is hovering for me between the two and then my fifth pure interior defense of Lyman is Grace and Halt-Logual.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_04]: Interesting, interesting.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_04]: I like Halt-Logual.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_04]: The two Halt-Logual are on the O'Connor text name kicks, I think are really nice under £300 guys, big fan of those two.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_04]: I've got K the Banks a lot, which I know is a kind of risk because I know he's the, you know,
- 33:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to be on my way to the other day to talk about how risky he is and how themes are worried about him and I totally get that.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_04]: It's just hard to overlook the insane.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_04]: You know, the insane measurables, I mean, like you've worked up with a con mine, 35 inch arms, 94th percentile, 86 in Twin Spang, 99th percentile, which are the longest of the con mine for DT since 1999, 66, 98th percentile, 327 pounds, 89th percentile, and a 50540 with a 174 10-yard split, which is absurd for a man of his size.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_04]: And he goes back to 2340, looking at the past rush staff,
- 34:09[SPEAKER_04]: Some of the some of the tape when he's on and I know that he's not always on and that's the issue But my god some of that stuff and then turns up with the the senior ball and some of that past rushing stuff was was Phil Fee and the mistackle rate was really bad last year 22% second worst run stop rate amongst drafted det since 2016 according to PFF But again, you go back to the LSU game like
- 34:33[SPEAKER_04]: He's just, I've had it hard, Dr. Yeah, I love him.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_04]: I had Miller at two, I had Woods at three, I had McDonald at four, and I had to leave Hunter at five.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, only because my sleeper, who plays at D.T., I'm not sure where he's been ended up playing.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_04]: And I've actually essentially, for the draft book, I've put him at defensive end, which we're gonna have, folk as well.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_04]: And I'll get to him in a minute.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_04]: Folk is such an interesting guy, isn't he?
- 34:56[SPEAKER_04]: Because I thought, coming into,
- 35:02[SPEAKER_04]: the season and really threw a lot of this process and then going back and looking at him recently that he had the ceiling of a top 10 pick, you know, long, sunny frames, guy, three years star, big year in 2024 with the nine sacs, the 45 pressures, but then a significant drop in production last year and he'd look at some of it and obviously he was being moved around the formation, DJ Dirk and moved around the formation and awful lot and it was kind of wearing all sorts of different hats.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_04]: I thought it was a legitimate top 10 pick, really potentially coming into the year when you just look at the size and the, you know, paid it through it or allegedly paid it 6, 5, 2, 8, 6, 6, 2, 8, it rocks up at the combine's 276, but you just go back and look at some of the staff and some of the tape and wearing down late on in games and, you know, like a lack of burst that the run game stuff is, it is really, really, really good.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_04]: But even in the last week or so, when I was just going back to the draft, I was just going back and looking at a couple of games.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, you know, the burst late on in games when you really need him.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_04]: And I kind of count on that with, you know, last year with Prince Lee with Prince Lee, who I'm mailing and you go back and look at some of those critical moments in big games on big drives towards the end of the year.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_04]: He showed up time and time and time again with big plays and I know they were the off field staff.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_04]: where it's full kind of goes the other way and I just think there's so much about it that I find tentalizing, the physical profile, all those sorts of things.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_04]: I just wonder whether or not he's the some of his parts sometimes and I don't know, I just had a really difficult.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_04]: being with him over the last couple of weeks and I do think, you know, I'm fascinated that you've moved him inside because I actually think I'm not going to be surprised if he gets asked to gain weight and move to a four hour or five technique and just playing side just to make use of his tools.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_04]: So is that kind of how you viewed it in terms of his season and where you end up putting him?
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's such an interesting player and and he is, you know, he has the benefit of youth at his 20.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: He'll be won't turn 21 until probably close to whatever the season opening date is.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have that number off the top my head, but it's September 7th.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_00]: This is when he's going to turn 21 right.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: So very young player.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_00]: and it stands out to me when I when I saw him in Indian person and I saw how well built and constructed like his torso and his lower half was, but then you see his shoulders and you see his chest and his build up top and I'm like, I think you could put 20, 25 pounds on up top and fill out his
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: you see the room to grow in his frame already that I think naturally that that's going to come as he continues to like I think you'd have to work to stay under to eat like I think you would have to like it'd be have to be conscious effort.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: So that was part of it for me.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: Another part of it for me is the vast majority of these games he's somebody that he plays really hard.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think you you see high motor it's when he's fresh it's very evident
- 38:11[SPEAKER_00]: But his past rush plan, I think he exudes a ton of extra energy as he tries to rush the passer because he gets stuck on these blocks and then he's got to work super hard.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then you take these games bailer 50 snaps.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: South Alabama 54, Oklahoma 50, Texas A&M 51, Georgia 58, Missouri 64.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: Vanderbilt 55 Alabama 15.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: He plays a lot of snaps.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: So that's it's a couple compounding things for me.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: He plays a ton of snaps.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: He plays super hard.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think he burns himself out.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_00]: But then he also doesn't help himself on passing downs because
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't win it first contact and slip rushes with a ton of consistency.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: He gets locked up with guys and then he gets in a hand battle with guys and then he's got to try to work.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_00]: They get off a guy and then he goes off and pursue like I think there's a much more efficient way for him to play the game that would prevent some of what you've noticed that I do agree with that as the game wears on and kind of felt like you felt them less with the
- 39:21[SPEAKER_00]: I see his frame, I see his youth, I see there's so much room to grow and for him to develop as a past rush player.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think he has the power that you can put him in a four and tell him, hey, you know, shoot the gap inside.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he can do that and it will give him more success than trying to rush at times.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: from wide angles and rushing outside.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's where you just get the most grace for him while acknowledging that like his versatility for some teams, maybe he is a five in a base and that can bump out into a seven, but then you get your rush front on the field and maybe he's lined up over top of the guard and rushing from there like I think he because he has with his frame and his physical ability, the flexibility to do that like I still really like him, it's just
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's so young and it's such a raw player and a raw product the variants of outcomes is massive for him Like he could work out really really well, and it could also like You to get really uncomfortable when you talk about with a lower bands look like for what the outcomes are Did you first ran grade or second on folk?
- 40:32[SPEAKER_00]: Keldrick is a second round grade from there.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's a top 50 player.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think for some teams that really covet the versatility and see that vision inside.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think you know you tell me he's And the first round for some teams like I would get it but for just for me personally because like if I'm grading for all 32 teams simultaneously, it's more of a risk assessment than anything else, right?
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be teams that look out and I think they're going to be really uncomfortable with the variance and I think that showed up in this great.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I just am really interesting middle of that.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_04]: tier guys in this draft as well, you know, people are not talking about Nick Barrett, South Carolina or Chris McLean of Missouri.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_04]: I like Landon Robinson of Navy, but I totally understand that he's three foot nine and you know, that's not three foot nine, but you know, Devon Easton of Minnesota, Darrell Jackson, you get talked about a little bit more, even down to the kind of super freaky athlete, I like a Jordan Bandenburg, you know,
- 41:37[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, I didn't even know why I didn't promise you I didn't know that did I obviously I assume you're going to the proctor.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_00]: So let me ruin yours, too.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, there we go Cat's out of bag, brother jokes on you Or or good his who's your sleep a Kyle Jordan and inburg from Georgia.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hey Transfer from Penn State
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: The pro-day numbers are unbelievable.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: The salety.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right, six foot three and two eights.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_00]: So six three and a quarter, three ten.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: 35 reps on the bench.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's over 32 on the armline.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not like he's one of these 30 and a half guys that doesn't really have to get the bar down.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_00]: Is it 30, 36 on the vert?
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: Just short of 10 feet on the broad at three, 10.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: uh... ran the uh... twenty-art shuttle in four one nine ran a seven-year-old five seven-year-old outwell an attic p. s. k.l.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: shiki had Denzel busted Michael Wilson and jabby but not and then you and then you watch him on tape two and it's like he could not get on the field of Penn State and he had to be played less than three hundred fifty snaps and three seasons of Penn State and then transfers to George Tech
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: And some of the flashes for what he does in the three technique and be in really aggressive.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: I holy smokes the way that he gets shot out of a cannon and you see like.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_00]: he'll get hit to hit with a guard and he's he's at five yards a death and he decides I got to turn the corner and you see and damn it if he is if his inside hit doesn't drop and he doesn't turn that corner on a dime and you see all these flashes that's just like he just has a play he's a red shirt senior with thirteen hundred snaps so it's a literally is working out two hundred nineteen and a half snaps per season yeah which is nothing
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: Especially in this class, you get into the first half of day three and that's a guy that I'm putting a lot of taken on.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_04]: I want him in house 18th on Bruce Feldman's Freaks List.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_04]: He's just too quick for guys in there.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I even saw I was watching a couple of weeks ago and saw him.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_04]: He was down on one knee and not in the barren Murphy kind of way of he was literally forced onto one knee but was still holding a double
- 44:07[SPEAKER_04]: He's just different, he's just different.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_04]: They're traits and the quickness, just jump off the screen.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_04]: He's a, yeah, he's a fascinating guy.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_04]: Let me tell you about my, uh,
- 44:18[SPEAKER_04]: High sleeper.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_04]: We talked about this on three hours per carry the other night, like, and I can't say, the biggest question I have with Proctor, Caleb Proctor, who's the, is he an end is your DT, South East Louisiana, right?
- 44:33[SPEAKER_04]: The biggest question I have is, how high is too high for him?
- 44:36[SPEAKER_04]: Because I kept, the more I was, you know, watching, the more I was thinking, this guy's unbelievable,
- 44:44[SPEAKER_04]: You watch the nickel state tape and I'm surprised I didn't just the nickel state coach just walk off the film right or walk on the film like no, just call the game off, we're not doing this anymore.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_04]: Like every single tie, every single snap, he's in the back for every single time, the quarterback someone to run for his life, this tackles for a loss, the
- 45:04[SPEAKER_04]: It's not going where you want to go, the quarterback's been forced off the platform, he just busted up double teams, he's just like tearing stuff up and you like, okay, I get it, it's nickel state, right?
- 45:14[SPEAKER_04]: It's fine.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_04]: Let's put the LSU thing on because he's gonna, you know, this is four and five stock guys, LSU, NASMA, it's all good.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Here it is.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_04]: It's exactly the same.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_04]: Two sacks, multiple tackles for the last big tier felt at the end of the game, just down after down after down after down, just beating up on these interior guys.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_04]: Just electric quickness, skinny through the hole, the hands, just decoding their linemen.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_04]: constant pressures for multiple alignments, angles of entry into the pocket, like just unbelievable.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_04]: And again, I can't say the name of what he reminds me a little bit of, because that's blasphemy, it's like saying, you know, Voldemort or whatever, Harry Potter world.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_04]: But just, yeah, I mean, 47940, which is insane, at £291,
- 46:05[SPEAKER_04]: but he'd added 16 pounds from the shrine game where he was 275 pounds.
- 46:10[SPEAKER_04]: And it's just like, imagine what we've run at 275, which is what it's playing weight was.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_04]: The past rush moves, the counters, he's got this two hand swipe that's just sexy as hell, like the push pull, like, he's just, he's just, you know, you can kid, like four and five star ls, you guys, down on their faces, all across the formation is lining up, many of the three technique, but
- 46:31[SPEAKER_04]: My guard car, he just like, the way bounce his gap to gap and the lateral quickness and then the explosion that he is so good.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_04]: And I mean, he's a sort of guy, I said to the guys in line, he's a sort of guy that in four years time, when he signs the big Milton Williams type contract, people will go, should have gone in the first one, why didn't he not go in the first round?
- 46:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, because he played at Southeast Louisiana and that's the only good argument that we have, right?
- 47:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, he's one of my favorite players in the entire draft.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_04]: And I just, you know, it feels wrong, putting him as high as you want to put him because he plays the South East Louisiana, right?
- 47:10[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, I actually knew you seen a bit of them as well and what was your take.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I also had a pretty extensive conversation with somebody that that was around the shrine this past year and he was there and he raved about the person.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's right.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Ray reviews about who he was at the event and how he carried himself.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought that was just another notch in the belt, right?
- 47:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's in this crowded pack of guys for me.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: That includes Odin Yenem, the A&M kid, Robert Regis, the other A&M kid.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_04]: Good.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Barrett, Zane Durant from Penn State.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: Fractors in that bunch of guys that are late day two, early day three players.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if you have the need for the pure penetration role,
- 48:22[SPEAKER_00]: Proctor's probably the most exciting in the bunch where like I like Zane Durant, but Zane Durant has some length questions and I don't think he has the same balance through contact that Caleb Proctor has.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that Caleb Proctor did it against LSU gives you a ton of confidence, but at the end of the day it was one game against LSU as far as elevated competition.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, the more faith that you have in your defensive line coach, to harness that and guarantee that you're getting that, the higher efficacy that you have in that coach, the higher I think you should cover him as a player.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, 79 pressures in the last two and a half seasons.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_04]: And again, I get that he's playing against civilians, right?
- 49:07[SPEAKER_04]: But even so, that is,
- 49:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it absolutely works.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_04]: He becomes a electric kind of subpackage into your rush threat and it bests.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_04]: He could be anything right.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, it's wild.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_04]: It's wild.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_04]: That's it.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for listening.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for watching.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_04]: We'll finish up our position groups next week where I undoubtedly will give away who Carl Sleepazar and he will do the same for mine.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll be back on draft week with a big
- 49:39[SPEAKER_04]: However, that manifests, you can catch, as always, at A to Z sports or at Carcrafts on Twitter, you can catch me on my sub stack, which is simply called the low redzo, or that cyclancy on Twitter.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_04]: If you're on to the draft book, it's going to come out this week, probably on Thursday, maybe Friday, maybe Saturday, depending on book.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_04]: It's close.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks for your patience and we'll see you next week.
