- 0:11Speaker 1: unching into them four to seven every weekday on Radio Hdarky.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Thanks mate.
- 0:18Speaker 2: So I get home last night.
- 0:21Speaker 3: And pag Son of course told us that he's released
- 0:24Speaker 3: the full length video.
- 0:26Speaker 4: Hey fellows, Hi.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Let's just get straight to the point. Just forget the formal.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Evis al right about me recording the.
- 0:35Speaker 5: B of no Yeah, yeah yeah.
- 0:41Speaker 3: And so I go on the YouTube and look at
- 0:42Speaker 3: that and I see the title of it is podcast
- 0:45Speaker 3: host loses the plot.
- 0:48Speaker 2: And I just go, oh, good one.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Because there was a similar thing that went round with
- 0:53Speaker 3: the Nadia Limb scenario that I had many years ago.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Like I'm some sort of psychopath.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Today and I'm wearing my leather jacket, guys, you know
- 1:03Speaker 3: this brown leather jacket. And pugsn says to me, what
- 1:08Speaker 3: do you got in your pocket? And I said what
- 1:11Speaker 3: do you mean? You said what do you got in
- 1:12Speaker 3: your pocket.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Of my jacket?
- 1:13Speaker 3: And I said nothing, why? And he said, You've got
- 1:16Speaker 3: so many fucking zips. I just wondered, wow, And I
- 1:20Speaker 3: was like wow, excuse me, Pugson.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Fucking hell, that's outrageous.
- 1:29Speaker 4: It's so full of what a dog move?
- 1:32Speaker 2: Well, I just went, what the hell is going on?
- 1:36Speaker 4: I think you're more of a radio host and a
- 1:38Speaker 4: podcast host exactly.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but it just loses the plot.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Oh god, you did though.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I was pretty shitty.
- 1:47Speaker 4: But sadly, when you get shitty like that, it's funny.
- 1:50Speaker 4: It's really funny, and it's got to be infuriating as well.
- 1:54Speaker 2: There's nothing worse than when you're infuriated. Yeah, you know,
- 1:57Speaker 2: people are going, that is so funny, and you're.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Just like, I can't tell if you're actually annoyed because
- 2:05Speaker 5: you're also like laughing and smiling, but you're furious.
- 2:08Speaker 4: He's trying to hide the fact that he's so angry.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yes, that's that's me hiding my rage.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Yeah, far right. Well, it was hilarious. It's good and
- 2:16Speaker 4: please go along, and it's if you're looking for it.
- 2:18Speaker 4: It's on Radio Hoeks YouTube page, not the Big Shows
- 2:22Speaker 4: YouTube page. Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 5: This, this actual, this outro we're doing right now is
- 2:26Speaker 5: on YouTube as well, So just go down to the
- 2:28Speaker 5: next video.
- 2:28Speaker 4: It's probably that one. Yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Weirdly enough, they just show up and when I go
- 2:31Speaker 3: on YouTube now they're just there.
- 2:33Speaker 2: I find it. I find it weirdly disconcerting. Actually algorithm.
- 2:36Speaker 3: But in between my Trump videos and the American politics,
- 2:40Speaker 3: there's the.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Big show and I'm like, oh, what's that one about?
- 2:43Speaker 2: What's what's going on?
- 2:44Speaker 4: That's Keesy being up to?
- 2:46Speaker 2: Now?
- 2:46Speaker 4: Speaking of old Kezy, what's old keys he been up to?
- 2:48Speaker 5: I didn't audition today, my first ever proper, actual audition.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Great stuff, Thank you, it's pretty.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Can you give us the character summation there? I don't
- 2:59Speaker 4: know if I can you well, you can vaguely get it.
- 3:02Speaker 4: You don't have to say exactly what it is. But
- 3:05Speaker 4: the product, the key.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Trait, okay, character was I am from America, Yeah, that's good,
- 3:11Speaker 5: and the eighteen hundred, sure, and I am in a
- 3:13Speaker 5: small town.
- 3:16Speaker 4: But like, what are the character traits?
- 3:18Speaker 2: Not?
- 3:18Speaker 3: What do you mean by that goofy, goofy, funny? Yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 3: get the heart? Yeah that is a shilling.
- 3:25Speaker 5: The description was the complete opposite of the first character.
- 3:29Speaker 5: The character number two is almost anti masculine, like Tech,
- 3:34Speaker 5: a goofy dude, tech, almost bookish tech, someone who looks
- 3:39Speaker 5: out of place in the setting.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Tech.
- 3:41Speaker 5: And I'm reading this on about he thanks.
- 3:42Speaker 3: For putting forod for that ten backs ten backs right now,
- 3:46Speaker 3: you'll get.
- 3:47Speaker 4: It, but also cheeky cheeky as well. Yeah, yeah, that
- 3:51Speaker 4: was a positive. So talk us through it. How are
- 3:53Speaker 4: you feeling, mate?
- 3:54Speaker 5: I was nervous.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 5: So the thing with me is I can go and
- 3:58Speaker 5: do like live tele or something and I don't care.
- 4:02Speaker 5: I can see something on stage and I don't care. Yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 5: but something like an audition where I know you've got
- 4:08Speaker 5: one shot, one opportunity, camp has a chance to blow
- 4:12Speaker 5: you know, Mum's spaghetti. That freaks me out.
- 4:15Speaker 3: No, but that's not the reality, right. You don't have
- 4:18Speaker 3: one shot. You can do multiple takes.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Well we only did one one or two takes?
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but you can go, oh you know, can
- 4:26Speaker 3: I do one more? I didn't quite get there.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Okay, I was lucky with.
- 4:29Speaker 4: The first audition I have. But did she said it
- 4:32Speaker 4: was Liz Mulane, Yes, and she said we did two
- 4:36Speaker 4: takes and she said her happy with that, And it
- 4:38Speaker 4: was the first time. It's weird going into those rooms.
- 4:40Speaker 5: It's so weird.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Yeah, and then she goes, you're happy with that? And
- 4:43Speaker 4: I was like, in my brain, I wanted to leave. Yeah,
- 4:49Speaker 4: but I was also like, no, I'm not happy with that,
- 4:51Speaker 4: And so we did one more and that one felt
- 4:53Speaker 4: really good, and then I got the job.
- 4:54Speaker 5: I will see. That is so good to know, Yes,
- 4:57Speaker 5: because I actually found I left a lot of goofiness
- 4:59Speaker 5: out there on the table.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Yeah. Right.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I was the same when I sat. Yeah, when I
- 5:06Speaker 3: started off was the same.
- 5:07Speaker 2: I was like, oh, that was so bad. I want
- 5:10Speaker 2: to do another one. I want to do another one.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I don't want to do another one.
- 5:13Speaker 3: But then I reached a point of do it and
- 5:16Speaker 3: they go, you're happy with that?
- 5:18Speaker 2: Okay? Yeah, and then I.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Go but but absolutely, And that's the whole point they're filming.
- 5:24Speaker 3: So it's not like, oh my god, you only get
- 5:26Speaker 3: one shot up, that's you. You fall, just chill man,
- 5:30Speaker 3: but just got I didn't quite know that.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Can I have another?
- 5:33Speaker 5: So okay, that's good to know for the future. So
- 5:34Speaker 5: I arrive, I park around the corner. I don't even
- 5:37Speaker 5: know where the place is, so I go for a
- 5:37Speaker 5: bit of a walk around the block. It's just a
- 5:39Speaker 5: weird door steerway up. They always a dark room where
- 5:45Speaker 5: there's no signers or anything.
- 5:46Speaker 2: No one's there.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Oh hi, are you here? For the blah blah blah.
- 5:48Speaker 5: It's just empty. A guy comes out the toilet, nice fella,
- 5:52Speaker 5: and I go, hey, I'm here for an audishes are
- 5:54Speaker 5: one of the blah blahs? And I was like, yeah,
- 5:56Speaker 5: that's me. Is me too? And then he showed me
- 5:58Speaker 5: what to do, right, So went over to a ki
- 6:00Speaker 5: ask and put my details and had to measure my
- 6:02Speaker 5: chest and my hips and put all that in. Yes,
- 6:07Speaker 5: and then you just sit down there and then the
- 6:08Speaker 5: guy comes out and goes, hey, we're ready for you.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Now.
- 6:10Speaker 5: Then you walk in. You hold up a sign like
- 6:13Speaker 5: you're in a mug shot with my name written easy
- 6:16Speaker 5: written on it. Yeah, and then he goes and then
- 6:19Speaker 5: you're like those dates are good. You're like, yeah, they
- 6:22Speaker 5: should be fine. It's okay. And are you in any
- 6:24Speaker 5: other ads? It's like, nap, it's okay. Tim to the side. Yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 5: there's a honker on you.
- 6:32Speaker 4: They didn't.
- 6:33Speaker 5: But then and then it's literally just like straight into
- 6:35Speaker 5: the scene, all right. So you stay there, you stand
- 6:36Speaker 5: on that tape and you just deliver that line right.
- 6:39Speaker 5: And I did it, but I couldn't figure out if
- 6:42Speaker 5: they wanted me to go American or Kiwi.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Another good thing to do too, keysy when you're in
- 6:47Speaker 3: that scenario is to sort of get an idea of
- 6:49Speaker 3: what what size shot they're taking, like is it a
- 6:53Speaker 3: close up face?
- 6:54Speaker 2: Is it the whole body? Is it?
- 6:56Speaker 4: Is it mid?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yeah? Great?
- 6:58Speaker 4: As a rule though, and aud that is always sort
- 7:01Speaker 4: of knee up because they can punch in, so that
- 7:03Speaker 4: it would be pretty rare for them to be in
- 7:05Speaker 4: a close up.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Because the guy who was doing with once again Lovely Fella,
- 7:09Speaker 5: they did close on him first and then the same
- 7:11Speaker 5: thing again wider, so I was like, cool, I'll get
- 7:13Speaker 5: through it twice once close one whier. It was just
- 7:15Speaker 5: like nap just.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Once, really, just once for it.
- 7:19Speaker 2: May very well be that you nailed it.
- 7:21Speaker 5: I hope. So, I mean, the guy was laughing.
- 7:22Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, this was a.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Good to everyone under your belt, man, you're off to
- 7:28Speaker 4: the races now.
- 7:29Speaker 5: It was, and the guy I meant was really friendly.
- 7:31Speaker 5: The guy who was also auditioning, and then another guy
- 7:33Speaker 5: I was in balley with really came out and I
- 7:36Speaker 5: was like, oh, you were listening for barbos like yeah,
- 7:38Speaker 5: And I'm like, oh man, you look way more like
- 7:40Speaker 5: a blah blah than I do it. He's like nah, Man,
- 7:41Speaker 5: you look like a blah blah.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Isn't isn't that classic no mogie? You know, you turned
- 7:45Speaker 3: up to the audition and they go and you think
- 7:47Speaker 3: to yourself.
- 7:48Speaker 2: He looks way fucking better for the past.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Yeah, the whole ky Big Show wee days from four
- 7:55Speaker 4: on radio Hurraarchy with the whole Wracky Big Show podcast.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Over my career, you developed nemesis. You know, you'd have
- 8:02Speaker 3: guys that would turn up and you go, oh, okay,
- 8:04Speaker 3: I'm fucking going home.
- 8:05Speaker 2: I'm not even bothering with it.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Superstars, your anthony stars and stuff like that.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Than you.
- 8:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, but you know, Joel, were you supposed
- 8:14Speaker 5: to be Homelander on The Boys?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Mitchison Mark Mitchison.
- 8:20Speaker 5: It's like in Toast of London he's got his nemesis,
- 8:24Speaker 5: Ray pet Chess and so that's obviously like yeah, and
- 8:27Speaker 5: every time he goes to get a part, Ray Purchase
- 8:30Speaker 5: gets it yeah, or throws him off in the auditional.
- 8:32Speaker 5: So it's like, it's amazing the experience. What I loved
- 8:35Speaker 5: every second of it. At the end, I was like
- 8:36Speaker 5: shaking the guy who filmed his hands. Thanks for making
- 8:38Speaker 5: that easy. Man is no worries like green.
- 8:45Speaker 4: I was fresh off the bous has got a bit
- 8:46Speaker 4: of straw in between his teeth.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Yeah, got to make it big in the big city.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Yeah, boy, but good ship.
- 8:53Speaker 5: I loved it.
- 8:54Speaker 4: We're great.
- 8:54Speaker 5: It was really funny. Yeah good And I left the
- 8:57Speaker 5: big grin on my face. Go, well, I don't know
- 8:58Speaker 5: if I get that.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Well, that's good because most of the time you're leaving
- 9:00Speaker 4: you want to fucking kill yourself.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Well, I got really good at just shutting it down.
- 9:06Speaker 3: As soon as I finished, I went all right. That
- 9:09Speaker 3: was always a pleasant surprise if I got a call
- 9:12Speaker 3: from my agent and I'd say and even then it
- 9:14Speaker 3: would be like, you're on the short list. Okay, thank you, hotel,
- 9:17Speaker 3: it's all done, and don't worry.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right.
- 9:20Speaker 5: What's a callback? Because that come back and do it again.
- 9:22Speaker 4: You're going to narrow it down to three or four people, right,
- 9:25Speaker 4: so you do another run through? Okay, sometimes often with
- 9:30Speaker 4: the director, Yes as well.
- 9:32Speaker 2: My wife.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Having said that, my wife did a call back a
- 9:35Speaker 3: little while ago and there was like eight people there.
- 9:37Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, that was like, do you ever try to
- 9:41Speaker 5: she got it? He's a question. So I was wearing
- 9:45Speaker 5: this jacket today and I didn't even think about it.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what's going to ruin it for you.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Twink that out.
- 9:51Speaker 6: One would you blah blah jacket your blah blah And
- 9:55Speaker 6: one of the guys I walked in. The guy was like,
- 9:56Speaker 6: oh damn, you actually looked like a blah blah.
- 10:02Speaker 5: I guess like you're going forward dressing sort of.
- 10:06Speaker 4: They will tell you that will be in the brief
- 10:09Speaker 4: that comes out. Yeah, it tells you what to wear,
- 10:12Speaker 4: but you could seriously embarrass yourself turning up dressing like
- 10:15Speaker 4: a blah blah.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Not fool blah blah, just a sprinkling of blah blah.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit, but yeah, I never, I never really.
- 10:26Speaker 4: That's just as Jason when the brief comes through years Okay, Yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 4: it was a great experience.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Guys, generally speaking, it doesn't matter what you're wear. They
- 10:35Speaker 3: look at your face and go.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Gnat right and then and what's what the thing about
- 10:39Speaker 4: is a great place to get to is to just
- 10:41Speaker 4: to realize that it's got nothing to do with you.
- 10:43Speaker 5: No, they've got a look in mind, right.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Well, but also it's they've got a look in mind
- 10:48Speaker 4: and depending on who the director is, the look that
- 10:53Speaker 4: they've got in their mind about what the look should
- 10:55Speaker 4: be will be different. So if you've got ten directors,
- 10:56Speaker 4: they will probably cast ten different people. Yeah, right, and
- 10:59Speaker 4: then if it's for another for a product, then depending
- 11:02Speaker 4: on what product that's for, then it could be another
- 11:04Speaker 4: ten people.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Yea.
- 11:05Speaker 4: So it's there's so many things that have to align
- 11:07Speaker 4: for it to be you. But all you can do
- 11:09Speaker 4: is know your lines be on time, and then when
- 11:13Speaker 4: you're doing it, have a certain air of not giving
- 11:16Speaker 4: a fuck, like just going in there and I'm just
- 11:18Speaker 4: here to help. I'm helping you find out if hey,
- 11:22Speaker 4: if I'm not the right guy, at least you know that.
- 11:24Speaker 4: So I've helped the I've helped this process out. And
- 11:26Speaker 4: if you're going in there and you're just like that
- 11:28Speaker 4: and you're shaking people's hands, then it's fucking well that
- 11:30Speaker 4: was me.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, And that's that is the crucial part.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Is because I do the show every day and there's
- 11:35Speaker 5: other stuff going on, it's like.
- 11:37Speaker 4: It's when you need it. If you're just an actor
- 11:39Speaker 4: and you've got so much like back in the day
- 11:41Speaker 4: for Jason when he was broke, only an actor and
- 11:44Speaker 4: you need it, you are so fucked Yes, you're so
- 11:47Speaker 4: fucked because you're desperate. It's like, you know, approaching a
- 11:50Speaker 4: dude in a bar and you want to make love
- 11:51Speaker 4: to him. He can smell that desperation. Actually, probably different
- 11:54Speaker 4: with a dude, he'd be keen. If you're approaching a woman.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you would get it. And to take
- 11:59Speaker 2: three months to be paid. It didn't matter anyway. You're
- 12:02Speaker 2: destitute and broke all your life. You're trying to feed your.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah, good on your keysy, thanks fous enough. I've got it, but.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Ten bucks mate, then I get it. Yeah, you'll be
- 12:12Speaker 2: able to afford to pay me if you do get
- 12:13Speaker 2: it too.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Yeah, keen. So if I if I don't get it,
- 12:17Speaker 5: you give me ten dollars. Yeah, so I get paid any.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, you're going to take out of it.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Three backs all.
- 12:26Speaker 5: Right, really clammy handshake. Listen to the Huidarcky Big Show
- 12:29Speaker 5: four or seven on Hducky every weekday. It's really good.
- 12:31Speaker 5: You'll love it.
- 12:31Speaker 4: It's so good.
