- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, back to it. Where did Ted go? Let's see,
- 0:09Speaker 1: I think.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Ted?
- 0:10Speaker 1: Hello? I think I lost Ted. Okay, go ahead.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Oh, you hear me?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Yes, sir, I do.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Okay, I just wondered, what would be so bad about
- 0:21Speaker 4: inviting Mr. Trump to call on your station and letting
- 0:24Speaker 4: your listeners have a go with him?
- 0:28Speaker 1: I think he's got a lot on his plate right now,
- 0:30Speaker 1: and he's probably not going to spend a lot of
- 0:31Speaker 1: time calling in.
- 0:33Speaker 4: You don't think so? No, I don't think so.
- 0:36Speaker 3: I don't know, man.
- 0:37Speaker 4: He was the kind of gutsy guy that he was
- 0:40Speaker 4: to get elected, man. I thought he was more of
- 0:42Speaker 4: a man of the people and would rise to the challenge. Anyways,
- 0:46Speaker 4: that's just my idea. Crazy idea, maybe.
- 0:49Speaker 1: All right. We'll always keep a line open for him,
- 0:52Speaker 1: all right?
- 0:54Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Thank you. You're on the air.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Afternoon ron double-point uh... little research uh... are part of
- 1:04Speaker 2: the the war that twenty million barrels of uh... well
- 1:09Speaker 2: it was coming out of the golf only two point
- 1:11Speaker 2: five uh... million barrels was from iran you know because
- 1:15Speaker 2: our oil was sanctioned back in easter once that once
- 1:18Speaker 2: the strain is open back to be easily you know
- 1:21Speaker 2: replace within and you know increase uh... production i think uh...
- 1:26Speaker 2: really uh... What it's going to come down to, if
- 1:29Speaker 2: they're not going to negotiate in good faith here, we're
- 1:33Speaker 2: just going to have to bankrupt that country, take away
- 1:35Speaker 2: their oil industry. You know, if you eliminate their electricity,
- 1:41Speaker 2: drop the bridges, and take out the oil industry completely,
- 1:44Speaker 2: that Coral Island, you know, the whole, you know, getting
- 1:49Speaker 2: caboodled there, where they no longer have any money coming in, hey,
- 1:54Speaker 2: they can't rebuild their military. They can't even pay their
- 1:57Speaker 2: own military. They certainly won't be able to export terrorism,
- 2:01Speaker 2: and they won't be able to make nuclear weapons with
- 2:04Speaker 2: no money. I think that may be the ticket there.
- 2:10Speaker 2: You know, and where you guys are talking about parallels
- 2:12Speaker 2: to the Vietnam War, I think the only parallels here
- 2:16Speaker 2: are the negotiations and the reaction. You know, if you
- 2:21Speaker 2: go back to the Paris peace talks with Kissinger, at
- 2:25Speaker 2: that point, The North Vietnamese literally wanted us to unseat
- 2:30Speaker 2: the South Vietnamese government. You know, they refused to return
- 2:36Speaker 2: our prisoners. And finally, Nixon had enough where he mined
- 2:40Speaker 2: the High Front Harbor, and then he ordered the Christmas bombings.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And we bombed them like we were bombing Germany. They
- 2:48Speaker 2: were right back at the negotiating table, and we were
- 2:51Speaker 2: able to come up with a solution there. I think
- 2:53Speaker 2: what it's going to come down to with Trump here,
- 2:58Speaker 2: you know, again, he doesn't like to see this destruction
- 3:02Speaker 2: of stuff. But, you know, if you can't make sense
- 3:05Speaker 2: with these nut balls— Again, they think their religion is
- 3:10Speaker 2: we've got to have the whole world awash with blood,
- 3:14Speaker 2: primarily our blood. Then their imam's going to climb out
- 3:18Speaker 2: of the well. It's been hiding down there since the
- 3:20Speaker 2: 14th century. That's what these fools believe. We've got to
- 3:25Speaker 2: take away their money. That way they can't harm anybody.
- 3:31Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 3:32Speaker 1: So what do you think he should do next then?
- 3:35Speaker 1: I mean, so when you assess Trump with this.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Then literally eliminate the oil industry. eliminate their electricity. Can't
- 3:47Speaker 2: build drones or, you know, missiles if you don't have
- 3:50Speaker 2: any electricity. Kind of tough to do that. In fact,
- 3:53Speaker 2: they won't even be able to live in their caves anymore.
- 3:56Speaker 2: These rats are going to have to come up to
- 3:58Speaker 2: the surface. You know, you can only run the generators
- 4:00Speaker 2: for so long, and then they're If you eliminate all
- 4:04Speaker 2: their money, then they won't even be able to put
- 4:07Speaker 2: fuel in the motorboats to threaten the ships in the Gulf.
- 4:12Speaker 2: In the short term here, let's make some squads of
- 4:18Speaker 2: Marines available to go on the ships, because let's reduce
- 4:22Speaker 2: them to where they're just out there using rowboats. Not
- 4:25Speaker 2: be motorized. Again, eliminate their electricity, drop their bridges. Take
- 4:31Speaker 2: out the oil industry completely. Again, it only counts for
- 4:34Speaker 2: 2.5 million barrels of the 20 million that was coming
- 4:40Speaker 2: out of the Gulf before. That's it. You're poor.
- 4:44Speaker 3: In fact, they'll be.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Hat in hand to the Houthis and Hezbollah. Hey, we
- 4:50Speaker 2: need some money here. You can't have a totalitarian regime
- 4:58Speaker 2: with no money there.
- 4:59Speaker 3: It just doesn't work.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Microwave them. All right. That's my solution.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Thank you. News Radio 570, Dodie Cummings and Ron Furman.
- 5:07Speaker 1: We're with you tonight until 7 o'clock. So stay tuned.
- 5:11Speaker 1: You're on the air.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Hello.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I was calling in regards to President Trump.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 5:20Speaker 3: I've voted for him three times.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Stand by for one second. Let me do my headlines.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I'll come right back to you. Just hang in there
- 5:28Speaker 1: for a minute. Come right back with him right after this.
- 5:33Speaker 1: All right. A lot of debate, a lot of interesting opinions,
- 5:40Speaker 1: just like there is in the country over this situation.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I appreciate your patience. Go ahead with your comments, please.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Like I said, sometimes President Trump disappoints me. Biden disappointed
- 5:54Speaker 3: me from day one. And as far as I really
- 5:58Speaker 3: know how much money we've already paid Iran, but can
- 6:02Speaker 3: we trust them? If we give them another $ 500 billion,
- 6:06Speaker 3: can we trust them? Five or six presidents didn't do anything.
- 6:11Speaker 3: If it was done initially, we wouldn't have this problem today.
- 6:15Speaker 3: This problem needed to be solved today. 50-some years ago.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And I believe if we don't do it, you know,
- 6:21Speaker 3: we can't trust them one bit.
- 6:24Speaker 1: So where do you think it should go from here?
- 6:27Speaker 1: Because it seems to be just stagnating.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Well, one thing about Trump, I don't know how many
- 6:33Speaker 3: times he's said they're willing to negotiate. We can't believe
- 6:36Speaker 3: him all the time for sure. But whatever it takes
- 6:39Speaker 3: to win this war, we need to do. We can't
- 6:44Speaker 3: go on with this half-buff. Let's negotiate because you know
- 6:49Speaker 3: they're not going to really negotiate. They're just dragging their
- 6:52Speaker 3: feet and making more drones. It needs to be done.
- 6:55Speaker 3: It needs to be done right away and get it
- 6:56Speaker 3: over with. I believe gas prices will go down, not immediately,
- 7:02Speaker 3: but they'll go back down to what they were.
- 7:05Speaker 1: And do you agree with some of the callers who
- 7:07Speaker 1: called today who thought the United States, if they should
- 7:11Speaker 1: nuke them, No, no.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I don't think we need to kill all the people.
- 7:17Speaker 3: We just need to get rid of the leaders. The
- 7:20Speaker 3: smartest guy in the world said the only way to
- 7:23Speaker 3: win a war is prevented, and that was Einstein. And
- 7:26Speaker 3: he knew the power of the nuclear bomb. No, we
- 7:28Speaker 3: don't need to do that. We don't need to do
- 7:31Speaker 3: new lives either. We can do this without many loss
- 7:34Speaker 3: of lives.
- 7:36Speaker 1: What would your suggestion be on that? I mean, since
- 7:39Speaker 1: we've done some pretty... Well, the bunker busters seem to
- 7:42Speaker 1: be very effective, but when we had the bombing campaign,
- 7:46Speaker 1: so what's the next step, or what do you think
- 7:48Speaker 1: it should be?
- 7:50Speaker 3: I really don't know. I hate to see all the
- 7:53Speaker 3: civilians pay for this, but people can't protest. You know
- 7:58Speaker 3: what's happened? They're dead in a second as soon as
- 8:00Speaker 3: they protest. So, you know, you can't blame them for
- 8:04Speaker 3: being timid. You know, they just don't have a chance.
- 8:10Speaker 3: You protest, you're dead. I don't know the answer. Does anybody?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, we were turning to you. Listen, a lot of
- 8:21Speaker 1: people have called with different perspectives and different thoughts about it.
- 8:27Speaker 3: If anybody knew the answer, we wouldn't have this war.
- 8:32Speaker 3: There's really no answer.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I would say to you, you would like to think
- 8:37Speaker 1: that you're... You would like to think that the people
- 8:42Speaker 1: that are in charge, Rubio, Trump, and those folks know
- 8:46Speaker 1: a lot more than, obviously, well, they obviously know a
- 8:50Speaker 1: lot more than any of us know of what's going
- 8:53Speaker 1: on and what the reality is.
- 8:54Speaker 3: These people, we hope they know more than us. We
- 8:59Speaker 3: trust them for that. Sometimes that's a mistake, but obviously
- 9:04Speaker 3: they know more than us. They wouldn't have started this
- 9:07Speaker 3: If they didn't think that it needed done. It needed
- 9:10Speaker 3: done 50 years ago, for God's sakes. You know, not now.
- 9:13Speaker 3: It needed done 50 years ago. We should never, ever
- 9:15Speaker 3: gave them billions of dollars. And we gave them billions
- 9:19Speaker 3: of dollars, and what did we get? Same old thing
- 9:21Speaker 3: over again. It's got to be resolved, and I don't
- 9:24Speaker 3: know the answer, but whatever it takes to bring them down,
- 9:27Speaker 3: we have to do it.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I appreciate it.
- 9:30Speaker 5: 3-3-7-2-9-99-77.
- 9:30Speaker 1: There you go. Punching the wrong buttons here. With you
- 9:36Speaker 1: till 7 tonight, 330-729-9977. There's different takes, just as there
- 9:45Speaker 1: are different takes in the entire country. I mean, from
- 9:50Speaker 1: when people say, well, this guy says this, this guy
- 9:54Speaker 1: says that. As I said earlier, you take a look
- 9:57Speaker 1: at this situation and you have people that know a
- 10:00Speaker 1: lot more than any of us that are generals that
- 10:04Speaker 1: don't agree with each other as far as what the
- 10:07Speaker 1: best options are or what we should be doing. These
- 10:11Speaker 1: people are generals that understand military strategy and logistics and
- 10:16Speaker 1: they don't agree. as far as how it's going or
- 10:22Speaker 1: what should happen or how it can go. So, I mean,
- 10:26Speaker 1: and these are people that are, you know, it's just
- 10:29Speaker 1: interesting to me, like I said, I try to do
- 10:31Speaker 1: the best I can do, as I'm sure many of
- 10:32Speaker 1: you do, by reading whatever experts you can read that
- 10:35Speaker 1: have know-how in the field. Different commentaries that you hear
- 10:40Speaker 1: from different generals, pro and con, to see what their
- 10:45Speaker 1: thought process is. And then, the financial ramifications, like I say,
- 10:51Speaker 1: understanding what can happen economically to our own country. And
- 10:56Speaker 1: to a certain extent, there are those people that say
- 10:58Speaker 1: that in Iran, they're sitting around saying, okay, it's a
- 11:03Speaker 1: waiting game. And they might be sitting there in Iran saying,
- 11:09Speaker 1: we'll wait this out. Because We know the midterms are
- 11:14Speaker 1: coming and we know that's going to be a big effect.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I mean, could that be their strategy? Could it be
- 11:20Speaker 1: the strategy of Iran saying, we'll wait this out because
- 11:23Speaker 1: when the midterms come, everything's going to change because the
- 11:27Speaker 1: Democrats will be successful and they'll win because people will
- 11:31Speaker 1: be irate with inflation, high oil prices, and they'll win.
- 11:34Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, we won't have to
- 11:37Speaker 1: worry about this anymore. Maybe that's their strategy. I mean,
- 11:43Speaker 1: maybe Iran's strategy is we'll wait it out. We'll put
- 11:47Speaker 1: a hurt on the American economy as far as gas
- 11:49Speaker 1: prices are concerned, inflation is concerned. Maybe that is their strategy.
- 11:55Speaker 1: We'll just wait it out. And then we'll see what
- 11:58Speaker 1: happens as a result of the midterms where the president
- 12:01Speaker 1: is losing support in his own country and the Democrats
- 12:05Speaker 1: might be successful. That might be their strategy, thinking that... Now,
- 12:12Speaker 1: on the other hand, some people might say, well, the
- 12:15Speaker 1: Trump strategy might change as well. The Trump strategy might say, okay,
- 12:19Speaker 1: we have to try to resolve this. Well, he got
- 12:22Speaker 1: in that argument the other day with Netanyahu, or so
- 12:25Speaker 1: they say, where he was upset because they're trying to
- 12:28Speaker 1: negotiate something, and it seemed like Netanyahu was kind of
- 12:31Speaker 1: sabotaging it. So he's maybe back there saying, okay, hmm,
- 12:38Speaker 1: how can I get out of this situation now? And
- 12:42Speaker 1: declare a victory. I mean, so maybe that's what he's contemplating, too,
- 12:51Speaker 1: because he's concerned about what could happen with his legacy
- 12:56Speaker 1: and his situation at the midterms as well, because he'll
- 13:00Speaker 1: be neutered if the Democrats take control of the House
- 13:03Speaker 1: and the Senate. He's neutered at that point for the
- 13:06Speaker 1: next couple of years. So there's a lot on the
- 13:10Speaker 1: line for everybody involved. There's a lot on the line
- 13:12Speaker 1: for all of us when it comes to inflation and
- 13:14Speaker 1: gasoline prices and everyday living. There's a lot on the
- 13:19Speaker 1: line for all of us. There's a lot on the
- 13:21Speaker 1: line for Trump when it comes to, it's the economy,
- 13:25Speaker 1: stupid as Carville said, can the Democrats take control of
- 13:30Speaker 1: the House or the Senate or both? And then Trump's
- 13:35Speaker 1: going to have serious problems then. getting anything accomplished for
- 13:38Speaker 1: the next couple of years. And then the agenda that
- 13:43Speaker 1: he was elected on, dealing with inflation and all of
- 13:47Speaker 1: this kind of stuff, comes to a screeching halt because
- 13:49Speaker 1: he's been checkmated by the Democrats. I mean, if you
- 13:55Speaker 1: think this thing through, there's a lot of options that
- 13:59Speaker 1: are going on and a lot of things that could
- 14:01Speaker 1: happen as a result of the situation. And you really
- 14:05Speaker 1: can't predict, incidentally, Any outcome when it comes to anything militarily.
- 14:09Speaker 1: I mean, you don't know if these things can escalate.
- 14:14Speaker 1: That some of these other countries get more involved in it.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Whether that's China or Russia. Or some of the folks
- 14:25Speaker 1: in the Middle East that get upset. They're not necessarily
- 14:30Speaker 1: the United America's biggest fans in the Middle East. I mean,
- 14:36Speaker 1: there's just so many moving parts about all of this
- 14:38Speaker 1: kind of stuff. It's just, it's a fascinating process. And
- 14:42Speaker 1: I got to tell you something. I mean, I can
- 14:47Speaker 1: give you my thoughts, my opinion, but I find a
- 14:50Speaker 1: lot of people's opinions, whether I agree with them or
- 14:53Speaker 1: disagree with them, interesting the takes that they have as well.
- 14:58Speaker 1: We're called kind of armchair quarterbacks on all of this
- 15:00Speaker 1: kind of stuff, but I always go back to say
- 15:02Speaker 1: you hope that– well, you don't hope. You know the
- 15:05Speaker 1: people that are in charge know a lot more than
- 15:08Speaker 1: we know and probably know a lot more than a
- 15:11Speaker 1: lot of these retired generals know that are doing some
- 15:15Speaker 1: of the speculating and commentary. But I'm sure those generals
- 15:18Speaker 1: have their connections as probably know more than most of us.
- 15:22Speaker 1: But you have to– You have to look at Iran
- 15:28Speaker 1: and think it is economically devastated. I mean, there's the
- 15:32Speaker 1: idea that Iran is winning. Whenever I hear that, I
- 15:35Speaker 1: just kind of say, well, where does that come from?
- 15:38Speaker 1: Because if you take a look, I mean, their economy
- 15:42Speaker 1: is devastated right now. And what happens is more people,
- 15:47Speaker 1: you have a huge inflation problem in Iran. You have
- 15:49Speaker 1: people that aren't getting paid, whether that's their military people.
- 15:52Speaker 1: At what point does the chaos begin? erupt in that
- 15:56Speaker 1: country because of the inflation and the lack of money
- 16:03Speaker 1: coming in to where they look around and say, okay,
- 16:10Speaker 1: what do we do now? The problem, it's a shining example, incidentally,
- 16:14Speaker 1: when you say about the people that go out and
- 16:17Speaker 1: protest or want to take their, want to be more
- 16:20Speaker 1: active in that situation. That's an easy thing to say
- 16:23Speaker 1: when the government has all the guns. When you always
- 16:26Speaker 1: hear these people talk about our Second Amendment or giving
- 16:30Speaker 1: up some of your Second Amendment, the people are a
- 16:33Speaker 1: little bit– it's difficult for them to uprise in Iran
- 16:36Speaker 1: when they don't have any weapons and they start doing
- 16:38Speaker 1: an uprise. And the next thing you know, they shoot
- 16:42Speaker 1: six or seven of them right in between the eyes.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And the next thing you know, the people that are
- 16:47Speaker 1: causing the uprise– all scatter and you don't see anything
- 16:51Speaker 1: more happening because they don't have anything to fight back.
- 16:54Speaker 1: There was another thing I was reading where they were
- 16:57Speaker 1: making suggestions that the CIA or some covert operation should
- 17:02Speaker 1: also try to be secretly shipping arms to a lot
- 17:06Speaker 1: of the people. But I don't know how you would
- 17:09Speaker 1: determine who you would give them to and who the
- 17:15Speaker 1: people that want regime change would be. And then would
- 17:18Speaker 1: they have the training and the courage to go against
- 17:22Speaker 1: the military in that country that would certainly have their
- 17:27Speaker 1: share of weapons and training? I mean, there's so many
- 17:30Speaker 1: pieces to this mess. Some of these experts always, there's
- 17:34Speaker 1: a lot of pieces to it. Let's just put it
- 17:36Speaker 1: that way. From NewsRadio 570, WKBN and Ron Verb, hello there.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Hey, Ron, you brought up a very important point I
- 17:44Speaker 6: thought just now about that it's awfully difficult for them
- 17:48Speaker 6: to go up against the government without any guns. And
- 17:52Speaker 6: it really speaks of American exceptionalism. A lesson we never learned,
- 17:57Speaker 6: it seems like, as a country, that during the Revolutionary War,
- 18:01Speaker 6: we had farmers that went up against the superpower of
- 18:05Speaker 6: the day. And they had guns, but they weren't much.
- 18:10Speaker 6: And all odds were against them, but they spilled their
- 18:13Speaker 6: blood because freedom was valuable enough for them to go
- 18:17Speaker 6: spill their blood and give their lives. And it seems
- 18:19Speaker 6: like in the course of world history, every time we
- 18:22Speaker 6: went into a Korea or a Vietnam or Afghanistan or Iraq,
- 18:26Speaker 6: you name it, we were trying to do that job
- 18:30Speaker 6: on their behalf. But the problem was we were using
- 18:33Speaker 6: our young soldiers, our young Marines and Delta and Army
- 18:38Speaker 6: and infantry and everybody else.
- 18:40Speaker 7: Yep.
- 18:41Speaker 6: And if you do that, then the blood is cheap,
- 18:43Speaker 6: isn't it? They don't care if American blood is being
- 18:46Speaker 6: spilled kicking in doors and getting killed. That's cheap freedom,
- 18:50Speaker 6: and that's why it never sticks. And I think that's
- 18:52Speaker 6: the problem that Trump is facing. And I think it's
- 18:55Speaker 6: a lesson we just can't seem to learn as a
- 18:57Speaker 6: country is you can't go over and do it for
- 19:00Speaker 6: them as much as we would like to until they
- 19:03Speaker 6: want to stand up. And I'll say this. The people
- 19:06Speaker 6: in the inner cities, same thing. Until they stand up
- 19:09Speaker 6: and say enough is enough with the crime and the
- 19:12Speaker 6: corruption and everything else going on, they have put themselves
- 19:15Speaker 6: back in bondage and they all just kind of live
- 19:18Speaker 6: in the problems of the city. But back to Iran specifically,
- 19:23Speaker 6: I think Trump was really hoping that those men of
- 19:27Speaker 6: fighting age would stand up. Are several thousand going to
- 19:30Speaker 6: get killed?
- 19:31Speaker 5: Absolutely.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Are you going to free millions and future generations?
- 19:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 19:36Speaker 6: Is it worth it to them? Evidently not.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Well, they don't have the weapons. I've got to pause.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I appreciate your call, though. Some good insight. I should have,
- 19:44Speaker 1: on the end of my line, Orange Cassidy. Orange, are
- 19:47Speaker 1: you there?
- 19:47Speaker 7: Yes.
- 19:49Speaker 5: I am here.
- 19:51Speaker 1: All right, folks. Tomorrow at the Covelli Center, the AEW
- 19:54Speaker 1: is in town. The event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets
- 19:57Speaker 1: available through Ticketmaster or at the box office. And this
- 20:01Speaker 1: is AEW star Orange Cassidy, a two-time international champion. Now,
- 20:06Speaker 1: for our listeners who've never been to one of these events,
- 20:08Speaker 1: and I'll get into that, explain to them what the
- 20:11Speaker 1: AEW is.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Well, it's professional wrestling from all around the world. And
- 20:19Speaker 5: you'll see... live action fights and maybe some blood. Maybe
- 20:28Speaker 5: you'll laugh.
- 20:28Speaker 3: You might get sad.
- 20:29Speaker 5: You might cry, but you can boo and you can cheer.
- 20:31Speaker 5: And I mean, I've never had anybody say they had
- 20:34Speaker 5: a bad time. So it's everything you want in entertainment.
- 20:40Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:40Speaker 1: But when you hear that kind of stuff, and you
- 20:43Speaker 1: mentioned the term entertainment, but I mean, everybody's in real
- 20:47Speaker 1: shape and it's real wrestling. It's not just entertainment. I mean,
- 20:51Speaker 1: it is the sporting aspect of it too, right? The training,
- 20:54Speaker 1: staying in shape.
- 20:57Speaker 8: Absolutely.
- 20:58Speaker 5: When I say entertainment, I'm referring to people going and
- 21:03Speaker 5: paying money to see something. We have some of the
- 21:08Speaker 5: most amazing athletes. I think, in the world. The stuff
- 21:16Speaker 5: that you see in person live is incredible.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:22Speaker 1: No one knows the outcomes. It's not staged or anything
- 21:25Speaker 1: in that sense. I mean, when you're going against your opponent,
- 21:28Speaker 1: both of you are there to win, correct?
- 21:31Speaker 5: I mean, I better win because if I don't win,
- 21:33Speaker 5: I don't get paid more money. So I try to
- 21:37Speaker 5: win every time.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Well, and how disappointing is it if you fall short
- 21:43Speaker 1: of that? I mean, do you go.
- 21:44Speaker 5: Back and– If I fall short?
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 5: I don't get, you know, the money that I would
- 21:51Speaker 5: have had if I went, and then I have to
- 21:52Speaker 5: start from the bottom and I have to work my
- 21:53Speaker 5: way back up. It's just, you know, losing is not
- 21:58Speaker 5: great in AEW.
- 22:00Speaker 1: And do you go right back to the gym, right
- 22:02Speaker 1: back to training, or trying to figure out how to
- 22:04Speaker 1: step your game up from where you were prior to that?
- 22:10Speaker 5: Uh, I'm too lazy for that, but somebody would do that. Uh,
- 22:14Speaker 5: me personally, I, uh, uh, you know, I don't think
- 22:18Speaker 5: that far ahead. So I just try to win it.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I'm intrigued.
- 22:22Speaker 1: How did you get into this? I mean, I assume
- 22:24Speaker 1: you were just a normal guy doing normal things. How
- 22:28Speaker 1: did you get involved in all this?
- 22:32Speaker 5: Well, I could say that I was, never normal if
- 22:36Speaker 5: I was going to get into this. I think I
- 22:38Speaker 5: was abnormal and then decided to do professional wrestling. Watching
- 22:43Speaker 5: it growing up, I got a taste of all of
- 22:49Speaker 5: the different types of professional wrestling from the Lucha Libre
- 22:52Speaker 5: in Mexico into the British.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Hang on a second. Hang on, Orange.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Hang on.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I've got to do a commercial break. I'm going to
- 22:59Speaker 1: come back, and I want to hear the answer to that.
- 23:02Speaker 1: And more until 7 tonight. Ron Verb, stay tuned. Talking
- 23:07Speaker 1: with Orange Cassidy on the end of our line. He
- 23:10Speaker 1: is going to be tomorrow at the Covelli Center, June 6th,
- 23:14Speaker 1: with the AEW collision. That's going to be going on tomorrow.
- 23:20Speaker 1: But I'm always intrigued, man. So, I mean, at what
- 23:23Speaker 1: age did you actually say, I'm going down this road,
- 23:26Speaker 1: I'm going to train, and I'm going to get involved
- 23:28Speaker 1: in this?
- 23:30Speaker 5: Well, I was always into sports, and I was amateur wrestling,
- 23:34Speaker 5: playing baseball, soccer, track, all that stuff. And right when
- 23:38Speaker 5: I was about to get into high school, I broke
- 23:41Speaker 5: my arm in half. And the doctors, the orthopedic surgeon
- 23:46Speaker 5: said he was going to have to amputate my arm.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Thank God they didn't. But because I was sidelined from
- 23:51Speaker 5: doing all the sports, I got really into wrestling. And
- 23:55Speaker 5: then I decided to build a ring in my backyard
- 23:57Speaker 5: when I was around 15, 16. And I got trained,
- 24:02Speaker 5: and here I am.
- 24:04Speaker 1: And you say when you broke your arm, it's still
- 24:07Speaker 1: a pretty aggressive sport where you can get a lot
- 24:10Speaker 1: of injuries. I mean, so have you had a lot of..
- 24:15Speaker 5: Yes, so I had that before wrestling, but after, while
- 24:18Speaker 5: I was wrestling, because I've been doing this for 20-something years,
- 24:23Speaker 5: I broke my orbital bone in my face, my sinus,
- 24:26Speaker 5: I broke my right leg, I dislocated my shoulder, I
- 24:29Speaker 5: had a type 3 AC separation on my other shoulder,
- 24:34Speaker 5: and I tore my pectoral muscle just last year.
- 24:38Speaker 1: So do you ever say as you get older and
- 24:41Speaker 1: age and this stuff heals enough already, geez, I'm getting
- 24:44Speaker 1: too old for this.
- 24:47Speaker 5: Uh, you know, that thing we were talking about earlier
- 24:50Speaker 5: about being normal. I don't think I'm normal. And, uh,
- 24:54Speaker 5: I think I just, I don't think about it.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Oh man.
- 24:58Speaker 1: So, so you don't, uh, so you'll do it as
- 25:00Speaker 1: long as your body allows you to do it. How
- 25:02Speaker 1: old are you now?
- 25:03Speaker 3: Orange?
- 25:05Speaker 5: Uh, I mean, allegedly I'm late 30s, but I plan
- 25:15Speaker 5: on going until I cannot any longer.
- 25:17Speaker 8: All right, man.
- 25:20Speaker 5: Until the wheels fall off.
- 25:22Speaker 1: There you go. Yeah, let's hope that's no time soon.
- 25:25Speaker 1: You can see you tomorrow. What time do doors open
- 25:28Speaker 1: down there, do you know?
- 25:30Speaker 5: Doors are usually around 6.30, 7, something like that. But
- 25:36Speaker 5: the first match before the– so we go live at 8.
- 25:40Speaker 5: But the first– we have a couple matches to get
- 25:42Speaker 5: you all primed up and ready to go and get
- 25:46Speaker 5: ready for what you see. That's around 7.30 they start
- 25:48Speaker 5: those matches.
- 25:49Speaker 1: And Orange Cassidy will be there with all of his
- 25:55Speaker 1: systems sealed up and looking for another great night. I
- 26:01Speaker 1: enjoyed my conversation with you. I certainly hope that we
- 26:04Speaker 1: get a chance to talk again just to understand what
- 26:06Speaker 1: makes guys like you tick, man. I appreciate it. I
- 26:10Speaker 1: wish you the best of luck tomorrow, and I hope
- 26:13Speaker 1: for a victory, man. Give them hell, Orange. Give them hell.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 26:17Speaker 1: All right, Orange Cassidy, be wrestling tomorrow. Have a good night, everybody.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Have a wonderful weekend.
- 26:29Speaker 8: From ABC News, I'm Dave Packer.
- 26:32Speaker 9: The latest government employment report showing employers added 172,000 jobs
- 26:36Speaker 9: last month. President Trump this afternoon on Air Force One
- 26:39Speaker 9: saying that's better than expected.
- 26:41Speaker 1: So we had incredible job numbers today. You saw that?
- 26:45Speaker 9: And we have good everything, good numbers, but the job
- 26:49Speaker 9: numbers just came out and they were fantastic. But as
- 26:52Speaker 9: Trump celebrated those jobs numbers, the stock market suffering its
- 26:55Speaker 9: worst day of the year, the Dow dropping 695 points today,
- 26:58Speaker 9: the Nasdaq suffering the biggest blow, 1,121 points. President Trump
- 27:03Speaker 9: says that the soon-to-be acting director of national intelligence, Bill Pulte,
- 27:07Speaker 9: should cut positions at the office of the Department of
- 27:10Speaker 9: National Intelligence.
- 27:11Speaker 8: He even compared it with the Education Department. which is
- 27:14Speaker 8: being dismantled.
- 27:15Speaker 10: The president brought that up and compared it to that,
- 27:17Speaker 10: saying this maybe should even be terminated. He wasn't specific
- 27:22Speaker 10: about what his plans would be, but certainly indicating he
- 27:25Speaker 10: wants to see Pulte go in there and shake things
- 27:27Speaker 10: up and limit the size of this sprawling office right
- 27:31Speaker 10: now that, of course, oversees spy agencies.
- 27:33Speaker 8: ABC's Karen Travers at the White House.
- 27:36Speaker 9: The Senate today approving that $ 70 billion immigration enforcement package.

- 27:48Speaker 1: Republicans are trusting the word of Todd Blanche, who built
- 27:52Speaker 1: a career on lying, that the administration will just drop
- 27:56Speaker 1: this slush fund.
- 27:57Speaker 9: Senator Lisa Murkowski was the lone Republican to join all
- 28:00Speaker 9: Democrats in voting the bill down.
- 28:02Speaker 8: Now it's headed over to the House.
- 28:04Speaker 9: Five astronauts returning to the International Space Station after being
- 28:07Speaker 9: ordered by NASA to stay in a docked spacecraft. The
- 28:10Speaker 9: agency had told them to don their spacesuits and enter
- 28:13Speaker 9: the spacecraft out of an abundance of caution after a
- 28:16Speaker 9: recurring air leak in the Russian service module. We're told
- 28:19Speaker 9: Russian astronauts are looking into the problem before trying to
- 28:23Speaker 9: fix the leak. You're listening to ABC News.

- 30:05Speaker 7: And DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston says that violates
- 30:09Speaker 7: the Constitution because it doesn't apply to every Georgia county.
- 30:12Speaker 13: If the legislature chooses to make these races nonpartisan, it
