- 1:04[SPEAKER_04]: I as promised the other day whenever I was talking about this, we are going to go through that top twenty five biggest mistakes from ninety nine list.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_04]: And we're going to discuss it.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to each give you our top five.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_04]: We're just going to have a little bit of fun commiserating about the history of the Cleveland Browns.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_04]: And then after we hit you over the head repeatedly with all of the just bad, drab, dreary news and, you know, all that stuff bringing up repress memories.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure I blacked out most of these stupid things that we've done over the years.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to come back with a little more optimism about something that we saw on social media getting shared around today.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll go into that.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_04]: before the end of the episode.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_04]: And then maybe we'll hit a little bit of the listener mailbag if we have time at the end.

- 2:35[SPEAKER_04]: All right, so as I mentioned on the episode the other night, the Jared Mueller from Dogs By Nature and Jake Burns from Browns Film Breakdown sat down and put together their top twenty five biggest mistakes the Browns have made since nineteen ninety nine.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_04]: How you could narrow this thing down to twenty five.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how they did it.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't listen to the episode yet.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_04]: Completely, but there's so many to choose from.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_04]: There's quite a few that I can think of right now that aren't on this list.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_05]: But I agree.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_05]: Make a little bit of fun.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, oh, we're definitely going to throw at our two cents in here, but I'm all right.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to go through the list again.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to read it from twenty five up to their number one.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll go around and we each do our top five, our personal top five mistakes.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll just kind of comment on some of these other things and anything that comes to mind.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_04]: So number twenty five, they have Cameron Wimbley, Holotingagata trade.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_04]: Number twenty four, Tristan Worf's, passing on Worf to take jet wheels.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_04]: Twenty three was numerous GM hires.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_04]: They don't even list them.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_04]: They don't even bother listing the names, just make much all of them.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: Number twenty two, the two thousand and sixteen NFL draft, which I need to pull up that draft board and see exactly how that one went.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_04]: I will do that.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_04]: Number twenty one, Gerard Warren selection.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's going way back.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_05]: Number twenty just and you reported this sign malfunction were you not in that was I was at that game I was actually in the dog pound for that game Blake Renaker sent me that picture of us goofing that up
- 4:10[SPEAKER_05]: In my defense, I was at the very front.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_05]: It didn't even get to me.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_05]: It just rolled like three rows down from me and we're like, oh, that's cool.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_05]: And then who knew?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_05]: And then Blake's like, you guys suck.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_05]: You guys are the worst.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_05]: You'd mess this all up.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_05]: He just blamed the whole thing on me.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_05]: And I was a non-factor, but go ahead, brother.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_05]: Continue.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_04]: So the sign was supposed to say go dog pound.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_04]: Or just dog pound.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, dog pound.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_04]: But it's ended up saying, gee, pod, a wand.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: Good job, everybody.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_04]: And then they also included on number twenty hashtag D.P.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_04]: This one I did not remember exactly.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_04]: So I looked it up the other day.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_04]: Do you guys remember this one?
- 4:51[SPEAKER_05]: So they talked about it on the show on Jake's show.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_05]: I they went into very little detail, but they basically said that it was hashtag D.P.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_05]: And it was like pornography, basically.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_02]: So man, that rings a bell.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let me read this to you.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_04]: So I found this on Sports Illustrated and this paragraph is hilarious.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_04]: So they projected the Brown's feed onto a giant wall at the facility.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_04]: It was like broadcasting talk radio over the entire building.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_04]: And one day in particular, it was worse than that.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_04]: One of the marketing staffers entered a search for hashtag DP for dog pound.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_04]: The problem was the hashtag carried a few different meanings, one of which triggered an array of porn to be broadcast onto the half of the entire office to see for more than twenty minutes until a tech employee was able to kill the feed.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, that's why that's why with the Browns backers.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: We don't barely barely employ BBW anymore for Browns backers worldwide because big bottom women like you can.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: You got to be very careful with what you're putting in for a hashtag, man.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not going to lie every time they lose a game this year.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_05]: I'm just going hashtag to be all the name, bro.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_02]: There it is.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_05]: The new hashtag for the year.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_05]: Interesting.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you for elaborating on that for me.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_04]: You're welcome.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_04]: I thought I would everybody out there got a good load chuckle on that one.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so back to the list number nineteen, the Danny Shelton Cam Irving draft for two further on picks there.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_04]: Number eighteen Pat Sherman, Roger Zinsky, especially with Travis Kelsey begging to be drafted.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_04]: Number seventeen.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk about this in a little bit, Justin.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_04]: Ray Farmer, tech scandal.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_04]: Number sixteen, Jim O'Neill as defensive coordinator, fifteen, Alex, Alex Shiner's trash uniforms with browns running down the leg.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_05]: They are bad.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_05]: They are bad.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_05]: They are bad.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_05]: They are bad.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_05]: They are bad.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_05]: They are bad.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_04]: They are bad.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_04]: Again, we'll comment on these things, but I mean, was it so much letting him to see force them to, but either way, they still let him.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_04]: Thirteen, Paul D. Pedesta.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_04]: Twelve, drafting, Brandon weed in.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_04]: So if all the back quarter of actually drafted, he gets his own line.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_04]: Number eleven, Julio Jones trade.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_04]: Ooh.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_04]: That was like bad one.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_04]: Number ten, Mitchell Schwartz and Alex Mack leaving.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_04]: number not bad hiring ready kitchens it is crazy bro it is absolutely crazy like to it's like just continuous trauma and like PTSD it's unreal it's unreal I love John Dorsey but then that that always comes up in my office we're in the top ten now so here we go there's still more to go guys no number eight
- 7:52[SPEAKER_04]: Justin Gilbert, Johnny Manzel.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_04]: We rock when we have two-person on picks.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_04]: Keep that in mind, next year when we have two-person on picks.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_04]: Number seven, the offensive line failure for Tim Couch.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_04]: Six, here we go.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_04]: John Dorsey.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_04]: Number five, Odelle Beckham Trade.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_04]: I'll pull up the trade details for the Odo Beckham trade.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_04]: It was a lot more than I remembered it being.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's on my chest.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's a defensive lineman stuff.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_04]: And the way I was all said and done, right?
- 8:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_04]: I know it had like, Gibralp peppers and a first or maybe two for I'll pull it up.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_04]: Number four was Kyle Shanahan's escape.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_04]: Boy did he want to get out of here.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_05]: Howard Point presentation.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_05]: That's one of the most embarrassing ones I should be able to.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_04]: And then number three, so on the top three, number three is Hugh Jackson.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_04]: Not shocked.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_04]: No, not shocked.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: There, there's two in the top three that I could argue could be number one and one in the top three that I will debate or if anybody wants to debate.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_04]: But number two, the Sean Watson.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_04]: So that was the number two biggest mistakes since the ninety nine and the number one biggest mistakes since ninety nine according to Jared Mueller and Jake Burns is Jimmy Haslam buying the team.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_04]: So there's your top twenty five according to these two who sat down and put this together.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_04]: If you guys do not follow them like go check out dogs by nature dot com go follow Jake's Browns Film Breakdown podcast like they do awesome stuff.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_04]: It's free content and you know they put stuff like this together that we get to sit here and then comment on which is pretty cool.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_04]: So let's go around and list off our personal top five biggest mistakes for us individually.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: And then we'll just kind of go around about on some of these after we're done.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_04]: But Justin, why don't you kick it off with your number five?
- 9:53[SPEAKER_05]: All right, for number five biggest disappointment in Brown's history since ninety nine.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to go with the Brown's trading the pick with, you know, Julio Jones on basically just sitting available.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_05]: So this is my first one.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_05]: These all.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_05]: I have recency bias for me, and then also carry continued trauma for me going into, you know, present day.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_05]: So for the Julio Jones saying, man, we trade the six pick in the draft.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_05]: It's crazy.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_05]: I looked it up in the AI thing that came back was, oh, Brown's got numerous picks back, which featured Brandon Wheaton, Phil Taylor, and Owen Marisick.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_05]: and I was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
- 11:06[SPEAKER_05]: We, uh, for some reason decided we didn't have the quarterback in play.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_05]: We had, uh, Colt McCoy, Seneca Wallace, and, uh, that Lewis is our quarterbacks at the time.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_05]: So maybe they, who knows?
- 11:19[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe they were on to something.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_05]: Um, maybe they figured, yeah, why get a, uh, alpha wide receiver when you can't throw them.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_05]: the ball, but just fun fact, in two thousand fifteen, Julio Jones went for a hundred and thirty six catches, eighteen hundred and seventy-one yards and a modest eight touchdowns.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_02]: Crazy man, that's insane.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_05]: We got Brad and we didn't know.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_04]: At least he knows what the underside of an American flag looks like on Monday.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_05]: Correct.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_05]: Well, to tag onto it also, I feel like this was relive recently on draft night, uh, twenty twenty five.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_05]: I felt like I went through this whole entire thing all over again after hearing the pic was traded.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_05]: We, uh, man.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_05]: We think we're passing on a generational talent to load up.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_05]: past uh has not been well to us in those situations.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_04]: That was not but.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_04]: Kenny, what is your number five?
- 12:20[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's mistake.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_02]: Number five for me in the way I took a look at this too is basically I was looking at like high expectations and get to ultimate lows.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: And you know coming off the twenty twenty season man, we had it high, but it was Baker may feel playing through that fricking shoulder injury man.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: And it was week two.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: For some reason, I thought it was against the bears when I first put this down, but it was a bad interceptiony through.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: And what made matters worse is that they showed that interception all the time and him bragging about his dumb ass tackle.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: You guys remember that and he was like running his mouth and then it just affected us for the whole season and what do you say after that game?
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: Oh the shoulder the shoulder the shoulder injury will not affect the season.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: It sure did pal.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: It sure did and you're not even here anymore, but this dude man he had that wear a harness and like the biggest kick in the nuts for me was we paid case kingdom.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: The most we've paid a backup in years.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: We paid him nine or twelve million dollars.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever it was, Baker wouldn't get off the field.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_02]: He completed fifty eight percent point fifty eight point five percent a career worst.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: Passing a hundred eighty nine point seven years a game, which was a career low is fourteen and thirteen.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: So TD's versus interceptions and this passer rating was twenty-nine.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: in the NFL.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: They only had three games that entire year over two hundred fifty yards.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: It was awful football to watch, but we got the watch case.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: Canem for his two starts go two and oh with a great with a great running game.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I'd say okay defense, but if we would have just went three and three over some of the worst stretches with Baker Mayfield, we probably would have made the playoffs man.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: You know, why didn't they do it?
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: I guess Baker, that's where he was immature and refused to come out publicly and privately insisted on playing coaching staff.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: I always called them soft after that.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: Any other coaching staff like
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you think Mike Tomman's going to, he sat, uh, fields after like a decent performance because it wasn't good enough, you know?
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: And then over, he just, both of them, Baker, the team, everybody just overestimated his toughness and he just sunk us man.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: He basically tanked the season.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that performance against
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Green Bay guys remember that.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, correct.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I was there for the Lions game.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: We blew them off the field.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: We were just wanted to chuck the run the ball and we wanted that guy gone.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, had nothing to do with him.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: He just needed to be on IR.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm getting all worked up.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to let it go now.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_04]: There's this thing going to be some getting worked up in this conversation.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_05]: It's crazy to think the what ifs in that situation where it's like if he maybe sits it down what are the browns do do we wish there was it just remember the adult in the room kind of thing I wish there was an adult in the building and that you know it took some leadership and said hey you aren't playing
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: He did it to get paid.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't get paid.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_02]: It took him two years to grow up and bounce around with him.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: Interesting.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_04]: Interesting that you say if only there'd been an adult in the room when the head coach then is the head coach we have now.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_04]: It's true.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_04]: Wonder what that.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_05]: And we question sometimes.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_04]: We do and we're starting to more and more as as the years go on here.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_04]: Half decade that we've been through with this regime.

- 17:22[SPEAKER_04]: Ugly, so stupid.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, man, you got, first of all, you got browns running down the leg.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_04]: That's just dumb.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_04]: Like, come on, you're just opening yourself for stupid jokes.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_04]: So you're already the browns and your color is brown.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_04]: Like, just, oh, don't play into it.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_04]: And then they got the weird stripes that go halfway across your breast.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_04]: And then the numbers have a drop shadow going the wrong direction.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_04]: Like it was stupid.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_04]: They look terrible.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_04]: And then when they wore like the all browns to, oh, yeah, I just made me want to puke.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_04]: And then they played like it, too.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_04]: He hated the few reports.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it really matched the match the team on the field for sure.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_04]: All went hand in hand.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_04]: Justin gets off with the number four.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_05]: For my number four, I'm gonna go to another wonderful, wonderful topic.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_05]: It would be the drafting of one, Brandon Weedon.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you guys remember this, but Brandon Weedon was drafted by the Yankees, actually.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_05]: played baseball for about four years and then went on to college and then played five years there.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_05]: We drafted him when he was twenty eight years old.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_05]: Something Josh, I I've heard Josh get mad about guys that are twenty four in the draft.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, what were we doing that we drafted a twenty eight year old?
- 18:39[SPEAKER_05]: Um, what are some fun facts about him?
- 18:41[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, this is good.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, his first game hit a five point one passer rating, um, with four interceptions, hold on.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_05]: Let me turn my page real quick for some more notes.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, Brandon, we heat and release after two seasons.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to laugh.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_05]: This is messed up.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_04]: But the Larry's got a lot.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_05]: Brandon we didn't famous for getting stuck under the flag.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_05]: Pre National Anthem and throwing one of the worst interceptions you'll ever see against a Detroit Lions.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yes.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I agree.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've erased that from my wonderful memory.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_04]: I forgot about that.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: How could you?
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: That brings other memories of like, Kade McCown and like, yeah, capturing and like, oh, yeah.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_05]: Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh, Josh,
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: Did I was excited for two thousand fourteen that draft?
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: I thought we had a way lots of players that we could load up on, but unfortunately we loaded up on Justin Gilbert and Johnny Manzell.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: I was not a Johnny Manzell fan.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: I did not like him.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: I do have relatives.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: That are in Texas.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_02]: They were so pumped for me.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: They sent me a Johnny Manzell shirt.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: I eventually got on that bandwagon and boy, do I ever regret it because man.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: I would have re way way rather had Aaron Donald.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: I would have way rather had Odell Beckham Jr.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_02]: at the time.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: I would have even would have had rather had Ryan's Shazir or CJ Mobley.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's how, like I can't believe it, that we missed out on that.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_02]: And that's just with maybe the top eight picks, right?
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: But we still picked Johnny Menzel.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: I would have way rather had Derek Car.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: We might have still had Derek Car to this day, or he may have just retired this year, and we would have moved on to somebody else.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that the just Johnny Manzel, I understand he was exciting, but I mean, you could see that guy was just ready not to be successful in the NFL.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: That guy should never have money the way that guy partied, just complete.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: offield issues in maturity.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I feel like watching the documentary, some of the bipolar nature excuses that, however, there's got to be a psychologist or somebody on the team that would have recognized the ups and downs in the manic nature and the just the total dipping out of life that that guy did.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_05]: I, Kenny, I'm glad you brought this up.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_05]: That was my number two.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_05]: I was wild.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_05]: The board for me.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_05]: Wow.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_05]: Justin Gilbert could be probably one of the worst graphics in NFL history.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_05]: Like, hey, you can argue that.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_05]: You can, you can absolutely argue that.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_05]: Started three games in two seasons and then we send them to the Steelers.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_05]: which is crazy to just trade a guy to the rival.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_05]: You were talking about players drafted around Gilbert.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_05]: Here's a few more Anthony Bar right after.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, B.J.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_05]: You mentioned Aaron Donald and then I think pick eighteen or sixteen was Zach Martin another guy we all pro Hall of Fame caliber guard correct you right miss that.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so and you I think you nailed it with the Johnny part like it was almost like you knew it was wrong But it was just like ah, let's let's just see what happens whatever and then you watch that documentary and you're like
- 22:15[SPEAKER_05]: What, where was the background research?
- 22:18[SPEAKER_05]: Where was the, you would think some of that stuff would get caught in the interview process.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_05]: There's huge red flags and none of it was an issue.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_05]: It was just like, hey, let's go get him.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: It was almost like the Browns got caught in the hype like everybody else and I wasn't there, man.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: I was not there.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: It was fun to watch in college, but I mean, I could throw to my Kevin's and be somewhat decent or at least post a passer rating, you know what I mean?
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like that guy still in the league and amazing.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_05]: I was in his defense, Johnny Manzell College version was one of the most dynamic players that you would ever get to watch as far as like, I tuned into college football for Johnny Manzell.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_05]: Like, what's this dude gonna do this week?
- 23:00[SPEAKER_05]: He was a savage in college, but you're a hundred percent right.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_04]: So that was, see I was Kenny's number four and Justin's number two.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_04]: So I'll show you remember to skip.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, sorry.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_04]: We did it too.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_04]: No, you're good.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_04]: That's fine.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad you threw it in there rather than coming back to it again later.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_04]: So my number four for me is something that actually was not on their top twenty five list.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_04]: Very recent for me.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_04]: The hiring of Ken Dorsey.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_04]: because it led to my worst offensive seasons, not just recently, but in NFL history, it was not bad.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_02]: I figured one of you guys would put that on there.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: So I let it go because I remember when he was hired, we were all like,
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think Blake even said it.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: Anybody but that guy.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, anybody but.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then we got him and then again, like Johnny Manzell, I talked myself and do it.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: I did a little throwback Thursday for us on it.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I got it overly excited for him developing Cam Newton, Josh Allen, but he wasn't the offensive coordinator.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: He was a quarterback coach and he did Jack sweet Jack shit for us.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_02]: So
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: That's sweet action.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_04]: I mean it wasn't just like the quarterback's looked.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_04]: the worst that I've probably ever seen play football when he was here last year, but it wasn't just that.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_04]: It was the offensive line looked terrible.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_04]: And I think some of that was also Andy Dickerson, but just all the hiring, the fireings and the hiring's last year were all head scratching and it made no sense and it culminated in a three and fourteen season with the number two overall pick, which we didn't use anyway.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_04]: So who cares?
- 24:34[SPEAKER_04]: We stuck and we move on.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_04]: So Justin hit us with your number three before I get too pissed off about recent memory.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_05]: No problem dog for number three.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_05]: I'm going to take a very very basic one that they listed on their list and I'm kind of sell it my way.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_05]: I went with numerous GM hires and I'll go into it because probably honestly I would say from like around two thousand eight two thousand nine somewhere around there.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_05]: I remember it getting very chaotic and basically every two or three years the Browns were getting a new GM.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_05]: And you might go, oh, well, who cares?
- 25:08[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe the direction wasn't right.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_05]: But what happens is when you get a new GM, that new GM doesn't like the coach or the coach shields like the GM has too much power.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_05]: And then they all start, it just becomes a cycle of GM coach gets fired.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_05]: New coach comes in, drastic quarterback.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_05]: Those guys don't work out.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_05]: So then you have literally a carousel of GM
- 25:29[SPEAKER_05]: head coach quarterback philosophies you know whether it's offensively defensively I remember at one point and they talked about it in the video there was a guy that they just released straight up because they were in a three four or they wanted to go to a four three or something like so they just released the guy the dude went on to have a great career which is just another like bone bone head move like
- 25:53[SPEAKER_05]: I just feel like on my whole life I've watched this team try to find an answer at those three places.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_05]: GM, head coach, quarterback, and we've never been able to really line it all up together.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_05]: My entire life.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, dude.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like I mean, that's why you lose, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: retaining these people because they're not part of this regime but like somebody like Eric Manjini, you know, he's got the six pick and trades it for a bag of donuts and CJ whoever and a bunch of guys that he thinks he can run his defense and ended up being, you know, colossal failure just over and over and over.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_04]: Bad, bad stuff.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_04]: Kenny, what was your number three?
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna go for another draft pick and it was a real bummer for me.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it was on the top twenty five.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: It was two thousand and four.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: There was a ton of good quarterbacks.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: You could have trade up.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: You could have trade down.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: And we took Kellon, Winslow, Jr.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: And while that might have been exciting, we really needed a quarterback.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: And the quarterback we didn't take was Ben Rothersberger.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: And that frickin' dude was drafted number eleven by Pittsburgh and he kicked our ass for like fifteen years.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_02]: It was
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: brutal.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe we finally got to him in the last three of his eighteen years but big deal.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: It was an obvious miss and then he's an Ohio guy for Pete Sakes.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's was the killer.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: Two time Super Bowl champ.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure he's going to be a Hall of Famer depending on the way his legalities.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: I guess said in, but I mean, we could even trade up for Larry if it's Gerald that year.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think Roy Williams came out that year.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: down low, if he would a trait like trading lower, he maybe would have got like Steven Jackson, but man, not only was this kind of a bummer pick and the whole Ben Rothers burger thing, this guy was a head case.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the whole were not a soldier or I am a soldier or whatever he said in Miami, Miami University, like, I mean, he could tell you, he's just a little full of himself, so full that he grabbed the motorcycle, tried doing like a pop willy,
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: flying around a parking lot, eventually tears ACL.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: So not only don't we get the CM play, we got to wait a long time to see this guy play, paid off a little bit, but at the end that guy was a head case, just another let down like a lot of other draft picks, just super disappointed.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: And then once his eventual release and a decade later, the dudes in jail for unspeakable things.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a good one to bring up, Kenny.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_05]: It's a great one to bring up.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_04]: Man, I'm glad you're done.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad you're about that up.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, had his jersey and everything too, dude.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: I was pumped.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, oh, well, we don't get off this burger.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: No development of a quarter back.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: We got some guy that'll make it a quarterback better, not the case.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_04]: Not the case at all.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_04]: My number three was a
- 29:03[SPEAKER_04]: very, very fun head coach higher that just went so spectacularly bad.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_04]: The hiring of Freddie Kitchens.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_04]: I said, that was you have seen some more ons get head coaching jobs in the NFL before.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_04]: This one takes a cake.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_04]: Freddie Kitchens was, I mean, when you were in a shirt that says Pittsburgh started it, you just
- 29:26[SPEAKER_04]: You're arguing with your receivers on the sideline.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_04]: They're in your face.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_04]: You're like, the no one respects you.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_04]: You clearly have no idea what you're doing.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: He got caught.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in tape saying I don't know what I'm doing.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't exist back then.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: It was real.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_05]: It is so.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_05]: How bad of a position were we in that we were just like, well,
- 29:52[SPEAKER_05]: It seems like Baker gets along with this guy.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_05]: Let's give him the whole reigns to the things and we hired him over the current head coach.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_04]: We said no thanks.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_04]: We want Freddie Kitchens.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, my I just stuck with Greg Williams, you know, status quo.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_05]: Burns had a story on his on the the article for this and basically for the video attached and he said that he was at the senior bowl and Freddy Kitchens was in front of him and tripped over her because he was just so shit face drunk.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_05]: So while he's there evaluating talent my dude's just getting it in just having a good time.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_05]: I never heard that so it's kind of like another good reason to go watch both parts of that video.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_05]: It's it's spectacular.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_05]: A lot of good side of stuff.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_04]: That's hilarious.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my gosh.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we're gonna skip Justin at two because he already had that one.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_04]: Kenny, what was your number two?
- 30:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if these guys actually put this one, but what do you think in the Randy Lerner was the most disappointing thing for you guys?
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot, right?
- 30:58[SPEAKER_02]: I would say the way it ended with Mike Holmgren.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: I was so excited for that higher.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: I thought, man, we were on the right track.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to put a picture in my man room of Mike Holmgren down here because he was going to lead us to the Promised Land.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: learner basically gave him complete control if you guys don't know of football operations and learner was basically not there so GM coaching roster decisions draft everything and like we're getting a guy that when the Super Bowl with the Packers had a great run with them Super Bowl but lost with the c-hawks and you know we're getting a great pedigree right?
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: This guy just
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: It says it like I was reaching this like it's in hands off approach.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: It was like mind off everything off.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: Not even their approach, man.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_02]: CEO style CEO's accomplished stuff.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: This guy accomplished nothing, man.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_02]: And like even though like the weirdest thing that blows your mind, he inherits a team keeps man jeannie.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's like
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: like you don't want your own dude, like you don't want the West Coast offense, like what are we doing here?
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: And home friends, Tener was marked with poor drafts, bad for agent signings, like think of Mingo, for example, lack of like just direction.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how you get, you know, a man, Jeannie style offense with a West Coast flare that you do.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: And he was just one of the worst until Jimmy has them bought the team.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: So get this.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_02]: in five and eleven two thousand eleven four and twelve two thousand twelve highlight five and eleven doesn't finish the season just says piece out I'm out of here to leaveland he was the hot on the highest paid executives at the time about ten mil a year
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: And he didn't coach and that was the biggest frustrating.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he was going to coach.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember the exact details of that the higher, but he made some of the worst personnel decisions I've seen this team and that's stretch that I just ran through.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: That was one of the worst and browns history, you know.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: aside from the one in the thirty one season, right?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, just crushing crushing expectations because they were so high when he got hired and so disappointing man.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: So screw you my home ground.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_02]: Don't come back to Cleveland.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_05]: If you want a really really like good read on like what you're talking about Kenny Terry Pluto wrote a book it's called the Browns Blues or something like that but it goes from ninety nine up until John Dorsey gets there and it's the most dysfunctional crap you'll ever read in your life like basically like what you're talking about you had got some guys doing everything some guys want power some guys aren't getting enough power it was dysfunction it was just a bunch of mismatch
- 33:50[SPEAKER_05]: people that couldn't gel together for twenty-five years.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: It was basically the epitome of crappiness to highlight how bad Randy Lerner was as a owner.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_05]: It's crazy.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_05]: Crazy.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that was fun.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_04]: A little trick out memory lane.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_04]: She's we've done this.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_04]: There's been a little crowd here right now.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_04]: We should be drinking for this one for sure.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.

- 35:27[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so my number two is
- 35:30[SPEAKER_04]: kind of four mistakes in one.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll go through it.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_04]: Hugh Jackson.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_04]: Number one is day hiring Hugh Jackson.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_04]: Number two, mistake.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_04]: Keeping Hugh Jackson after he goes one in one in what?
- 35:42[SPEAKER_04]: Fifteen.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_04]: And then number three, mistake.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_04]: Keeping Hugh Jackson again after he goes.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_04]: Oh and sixteen.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_04]: He won a thirty one and they kept him for a third freaking season.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_04]: And then the fourth mistake was obviously who, everybody they brought in.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_04]: You know that that third season like the Todd hailing move and everything you knew that can be a power struggle there was going to make a bit and again a pretty much real fast.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_05]: Watch hard knocks he just go.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, this is just a bunch of alphas just nobody's back and down here.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_05]: This is
- 36:17[SPEAKER_04]: Hugh Jackson was so full of shit.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_04]: Like he was fake.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how anybody could stand him.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure nobody really could.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_04]: They just did what they had to do to get by, but what a terrible terrible coach.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_05]: They passed on Sean McDermott for Hugh Jackson.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't get the whole tear down to the studs when he was there and him agreeing to that like that.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_02]: And then he's going, he goes on after he's not with the Brown saying he got paid the lose and like, what a mess.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: That whole entire time was and we, you know, we trade for a player to help another team clear their salary cap, but we got to pick out of it, but the picks didn't matter because we picked the right guys and, oh man, but that was a mess.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_04]: Yes it was, and now we are down to our number one on each of our lists.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_04]: Top five biggest mistakes of Justin, what is the number one on your list, buddy?
- 37:18[SPEAKER_05]: All right.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_05]: Well, the number one on my list got to be to Sean Watson, you know, unfortunately.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_05]: I'll do it.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_05]: I felt like the Browns were in just a prime window, like everything was lining up.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_05]: We were a quarterback away.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_05]: Like that's were honestly what I felt.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_05]: I felt like we were in a, had a legit Super Bowl window.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_05]: We make the trade at the time.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_05]: I don't hate to trade at all to this day.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_05]: I'm still like, I'm glad they took this wing.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_05]: But it, there is no doubt that this is one of the worst trades.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_05]: in NFL history.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_05]: You used to try to defend and say, hey, let's see what happens.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_05]: You can't defend it.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_05]: We saw what happened.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's just you, you trade away three first, which is whatever, and a third and a fourth.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_05]: You do the deal, the contract, which at the time, like you think about the contract.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_05]: Now, and it's like, Jesus, fully guaranteed, the dude has legal issues going on outside of football.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_05]: He's facing his redemption.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_05]: And I know there's other teams.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_05]: There's five other teams.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_05]: So let's not like act like
- 38:20[SPEAKER_05]: Cleveland was the only one that was in this thing.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_05]: It was just we ended up being the ones that were going to pony up to do it.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_05]: But I mean, what you got was, you know, you got to do that was suspended.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_05]: And then once he came back when he was on the field, the play was mediocre at first.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_05]: And then by the end it was just awful.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_05]: He was
- 38:39[SPEAKER_05]: Like at the bottom of the NFL bad, and then like when you really deep dive it, it's historically bad.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_05]: Like the offense was I've never seen anything like it.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_05]: Like it was like a net.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_05]: Like we couldn't line up.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_05]: We couldn't get in.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_05]: We couldn't do anything.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm not procedural.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, procedural stuff is so annoying.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm not blaming that on him.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_05]: You know what I mean, but like good leader, I'll offense.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, you were paying you to tell him many, let's do this thing.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_05]: But you know, you look at it.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_05]: We're three years into this deal.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_05]: He's only played nineteen games for us.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_05]: And probably I was telling Josh, I'm like, man, it's already a bad deal.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_05]: And the dude's not going to play two more years for us.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_05]: And he's on the contract for two more years.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_05]: and so like for me it's just like a very it sucks because it didn't work out I wanted to work out you know and it's one of those things that sucks that you know you feel bad for everybody involved you feel bad for the fan base man you have a fan base that literally was like hey this is it whether they agreed with the move or not
- 39:36[SPEAKER_05]: I've sold a lot of people on hey this is the best dude that we've ever had at quarterback since ninety nine like this this can make it this can this can absolutely work in this guy's a limit and then it's just such a gut check you know like it's I've told people and you know we've talked about this little bit but it feels like we set the franchise back you know potentially five years and then maybe more you know like we're if we're lucky we get out of this thing you know with good
- 40:03[SPEAKER_05]: drafting and rookie deals and all types of stuff, but it's we're in some shit with this thing still and it's it's not even over yet.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_04]: No, it's it's bad and I mean, I don't I'm sure you guys will just I know you don't have X but I mean, I've seen the videos him on it.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_04]: He got he got married and I'm sorry.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's awesome.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_05]: Congratulations.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_05]: It's good.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but I'm happy for the guy.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_04]: I was just going to make a little little joke and say I hope he doesn't go into like the TikTok dancing.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_05]: I'm not very rhythmic until I get a bow, you know, couple in me and then all of a sudden, I think I can dance pretty good.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_04]: But the two Achilles tears within what was a month, you know, and it's, I mean, it's over, right?
- 40:53[SPEAKER_04]: If he ever takes a snap again in the NFL, I'll be shocked number one, number two, it'll be in a very, very crazy wild situation that it happens.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you guys, like, you've called on Kaepernit comes to mind that, you know, he had some antics that, and brought some unwanted attention to, you know, his team and nobody wanted him after that.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_04]: Is anybody really going to sign to Sean Watson after he's done here?
- 41:15[SPEAKER_05]: Just if whatever you get there, it comes with a lot of baggage, you know, and for a guy with Houston was one of he was so in the watch.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_05]: So fucking fun to watch.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_05]: And then baggage and bad tape.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_05]: That's awful.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_05]: Like what would you want to pay for that for?
- 41:32[SPEAKER_05]: Just too much time.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_05]: I think pass and it just
- 41:38[SPEAKER_04]: If you ever get to chance to play again, I mean, he's going to be in his early thirties, which isn't old, but whenever you got all those injuries already, and your play has already dropped off a cliff completely, like, there's no coming back from that.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_04]: But Kenny, give us your number one.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: My number one guys it starts right in ninety nine and it is the reboot it is the reboot itself.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_02]: It has nothing and we said already it's been nothing like there's been exactly like Groundhog Day guys in February, nineteen ninety six we were promised by the NFL that we would get a team
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: When did we get it?
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: Nineteen ninety nine.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: What were they doing?
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: What were we dragging our heels for guys?
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: Come on like ninety six passes ninety seven passes.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we got to find an owner.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we got to find a a stadium.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: We got to build it.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Carolina did it in two years.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Jacksonville did in two years.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what the hell was the problem?
- 42:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we only got twelve months.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_02]: We got awarded in nineteen ninety-eight.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's when, uh, not Eleanor.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it was Eleanor.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_02]: It became our first rebooted, um, owner.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know what the NFL was dragging its heels for.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_02]: Why it took so long.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: But all we got was a promise.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then we got a year to put this thing together.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_02]: And it was not enough time.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: This created a lot of unrealistic expectations, especially with what happened in Jacksonville and Carolina.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we let two and a half years slip by.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: And what did we get?
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: We got Chris Palmer.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: And all we heard is like, oh, we can develop quarterbacks.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he's a, he's good.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: You know, but he just didn't, he just wasn't going to speak up to Carmen policy and Dwight Clark.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like how, how, tantalizing is this job for anyone.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, you got a month or sorry, you got a year.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you got to get this together.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys got to remember.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: Nineteen ninety-eight had to play out season-wise until the Super Bowl before the expansion draft could get done So that means they actually had a half a year to put this crap together, you know Rush time lines unrealistic expectations Median fan pressure.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_02]: They kind of rolled it out by ninety-nine because they thought they had to do it for
- 44:01[SPEAKER_02]: The fans.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, guess what, guys?
- 44:02[SPEAKER_02]: New Jack ship for us.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: We'll do nothing.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_02]: You should have rolled it out in two thousand.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you should have done.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_02]: And not only did we get that, we got a GM that couldn't be a GM.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: We got Dwight Clark.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_02]: And he was a freaking awesome player.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_02]: But that guy, even though in his tenure, he oversaw some awesome, awesome, forty-niners teams.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_02]: It was Carmen Policy who put it together.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_02]: He was just an administrator.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_02]: While it was director of football operations, I've looked several times.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: He just primarily handled administrative and personnel support tasks.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_02]: I can put that on my resume right now.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's so frustrating.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: And this, the reason I'm going over this is because it was the never ending cycle.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_02]: that Justin got into.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_02]: GM, coach, GM, coach, GM, coach, blah, blah, blah.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_02]: And it just led to Mike home grin and crap.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the one in thirty one got to get out of the cycle guys.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad that Stephanski and Barry are still here.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully they can pull out of the stuff.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Browns.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_05]: The Browns, the crazy thing too is the Browns got screwed in that deal.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_05]: Do you remember like Jacksonville and Carolina, the expansion draft was different?
- 45:21[SPEAKER_05]: You could basically take they got two draft picks that year.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_02]: They got two draft picks in ninety six each two.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: They got one at the bottom, ten.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: So they got about eleven and twelve.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then they got like thirty one and thirty two when there's only thirty three.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: Thirty teams, right?
- 45:36[SPEAKER_05]: So yeah.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I know.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, we've basically, yeah, we've got completely, that's why Jacksonville and Carolina were able to accelerate so quickly.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_05]: You know, like two years in the league, you're, you know, you've got to hold the AFC and NFC championship game.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_05]: Right.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_05]: We haven't even been there.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's been like, twenty five year, twenty six years.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, man.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_04]: That's fun.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_04]: That's a good one.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_04]: So I'll finish it up here with my number one.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_04]: And it is a mistake that the Browns made back in twenty sixteen and they are currently still making.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_04]: Now mistake is Paul freaking to.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_04]: Deepa desk.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_04]: I can't even say his name.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_04]: I'm so pissed off about this guy.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_04]: Paul deepa desk.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_04]: He is my number one to stay, hired in twenty sixteen.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_04]: He's one of the leading masterminds behind the infamous one in thirty one.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_04]: He's had, you know, first of all chief strategy officer for the Cleveland Browns.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_04]: So he's involved in, I mean, it says on the ropes that he's involved in all the decision making, all the personnel decisions and everything he's involved.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_04]: He's part of it.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_04]: The Browns have had two winning seasons in nine years that he's been here one in thirty one in the twenty sixteen seventeen seasons.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_04]: He's got a fifty four ninety three overall record.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_04]: One playoff win in nine years, finished third or fourth in AFC north in eight out of the nine seasons.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_04]: So that's almost all of them.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_04]: Seeing four different head coaches, seventeen different starting quarterbacks facilitated the worst trade.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_04]: Adjust and just talked about in NFL history.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_04]: Been part of the decisions to hire some of the all-time zeroes like Hugh Jackson.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_04]: I talked about the Todd Haley debacle of twenty eighteen Friday kitchens.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_04]: Joe Woods, Ken Dorsey.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you Paul D. Pedesta.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_04]: I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, man.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Go ahead, Kenny.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, just, yeah, just the biggest thing you fear is that if you're running a company, it's just uncertainty.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: And us as fans, we don't run the Browns, but we're buying into their their system.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing that's always unsettling for Browns fan is what this guy's really doing.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: And like, you know what, you get, you get like, Corey Coleman, Carl Nass of Sean Coleman, Coli Kessler, you know, Sean Kaiser, Caleb Brantley.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_02]: Do you remember those guys?
- 47:57[SPEAKER_02]: Don't really, because they didn't really play for us, but they were highly touted, right?
- 48:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, what are we doing?
- 48:03[SPEAKER_02]: What have we learned?
- 48:04[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing, apparently.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_02]: We still got Anthony Schwartz in our background, like he had one good game against Kansas City, and that's it.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know man.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what the guy's doing, but he's right.
- 48:15[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's he's our baseball guy who's handling football operations from freaking California.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I come on and like you're not in the building.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what's going on here.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_04]: He's not a football.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_04]: I just I hate him.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_04]: I really do.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_04]: I hate I I've never met him.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if he's a nice guy or not.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe he's cool.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_04]: I hate him.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_04]: I hate party.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_04]: I do.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if he's a nice guy or not.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_05]: Maybe he's cool.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: I hate him.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_04]: I hate party.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_04]: I do.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:37[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_05]: I just, I'm with Kenny.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_05]: I've said for a long time.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_05]: What the hell is this guy, dude?
- 48:46[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_05]: You said a lot of things that he did.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_05]: It sounded like all bad things.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_05]: It sounded like things that would get you fired from your job.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_05]: I also, I want to believe in the analytics and stuff like that, but if a kid looks really, really good on film and then he looks really good in person.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_05]: maybe just draft that kid instead of like try to be smarter than everybody else in the room like that's my biggest and I think that is another thing that we've done for a long long time that we've just been like oh no don't draft the stud guy draft this other guy analytics tell us yeah
- 49:24[SPEAKER_02]: He has a propensity to overthink which you're right and ultimately you want to do you want to if you're gonna fail fail on freakish talent because you can't teach that if a guy can run a four four like Schwartz could I mean I don't mind failing on that one if a guy's got a rocket arm like Baker again like it didn't work out but at least he had something can't teach that
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: You know, if it's not in between the ears, maybe you can teach that guy, but if it's like a guy that's like DTR and I don't want to crush that kid, but small was ineffective, had a lot of production in college, probably be better for the CFL or state in a college game, which is not realistic.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: But just the constant, those kind of draft picks that just weren't NFL guys.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_04]: So Paul D. Pedesta, and this is going to speak to one of these other ones from the top twenty five that I I wanted to look up and give some more information.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_04]: I got it pulled up here.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_04]: It's going to be interesting because I didn't remember all this stuff, but Paul D. Pedesta.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_04]: Twenty sixteen he gets hired.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_04]: So his flagship year was Browns.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_04]: First head coach hire Hugh Jackson.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_04]: Awesome.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_04]: Good job.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_04]: First draft in twenty sixteen which if you remember on the top twenty five list the twenty sixteen draft that was all they listed.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_04]: So I went back and I was looking okay what what did we f up in this twenty sixteen draft so we had the number two overall pick which we've seen to a lot.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_04]: We traded that.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_04]: To the eagles.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_04]: For the and they came up we got Carson once so we go back to number eight.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_04]: So we traded number eight with the Titans, so they could come up and get Jack Conclin.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_04]: So we moved back to fifteen.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_04]: So we went from two to eight to fifteen and we took Corey Coleman.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_04]: So let's see, that's what he says.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_02]: Bad attitude and lots of injuries.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_02]: Boom.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_04]: So this is, this is Paul D. Pedesta's first draft.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_04]: So first of all he hires you Jackson.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_04]: This is his first draft.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_04]: You know how many drafts we made in twenty sixteen?

- 53:13[SPEAKER_02]: Kenny.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: Quick enough.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think I think we because we had like three three third rounders at least so I'm going to say ten.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_04]: We made fourteen drafts in twenty sixteen and here they are Cory Coleman and manual Augba Carl Nassive Sean Coleman Cody Kessler Joe showbird Ricardo Lewis
- 53:34[SPEAKER_04]: Derek Kindred, Seth Devowl, Jordan Peyton, Spencer Drengo, over Shard Higgins, Traycald will and Scooby right the third.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_04]: It's a cool name.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_05]: There was, there was some names in, in defense.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_05]: There was, there was a couple of names in there.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_04]: But you have fourteen draft picks.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_04]: And you came away with like three, two.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_04]: So you're just even looking, Corey Coleman was on the team from sixteen to eighteen two years.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_04]: And then your Augba was on the team from sixteen to twenty four.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_04]: He had a good career with the crowns.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Carl Nassive was here from twenty twenty two.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_04]: He did okay.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_04]: Sean Coleman was here for a year.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_04]: Cody Custler was here for two years.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_04]: Joe Showbert was here for six years.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_04]: That was nice.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_05]: I like Joe.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_05]: He was a stud.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_04]: Ricardo Lewis though.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_04]: Here for a year.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_04]: Kindred here for two years.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_04]: Set the valve for Peyton.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_04]: Not even a full season.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_04]: Spencer Draingo, one year.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_04]: Richard Higgins had a nice little career for what he was in fifth round.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_04]: He was here.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_04]: And then Calldwell was here for not even a four year.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_04]: Scooby right was here for a year.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_04]: Like, you had fourteen draft picks.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_04]: None of them panned into it.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_04]: Really anything.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, except for what?
- 54:41[SPEAKER_04]: Three.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: Joe Shobra was a cream in that crop.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: I guess.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_05]: I agree.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: That was just so terrible.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_05]: Yikes.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_05]: Well, good thing.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_05]: Good thing he's still with the team.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I can't wait for that first round next year.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, be fun.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_04]: Just going back through some of these real quick couple things that I was going to comment on.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_04]: Just all the way up to their number one was Jimmy has them buying the team.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_04]: That didn't make any of our top five.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_04]: And I imagine it's the same for you guys as it is for me like
- 55:12[SPEAKER_04]: While Jimmy's made some big mistakes, a lot of these mistakes kind of you can trace them back to him.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, who hired Paul Deepadest, who hired these guy, you know, put these personal people in place.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_04]: But Jimmy has a man is dedicated to spending the money to making the team good for the fans.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_04]: Now, has it worked?
- 55:30[SPEAKER_04]: Hell no, not even close.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_04]: But he's doing it.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_04]: He's the reason why we're able to make it to Sean Watson trade.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_04]: Have it flame up in our faces just extraordinarily bad.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_04]: And we can still function somewhat as a franchise.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_04]: Like for most teams, that would cripple you.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, just completely cripple your ability to make
- 55:51[SPEAKER_04]: You know, trades or sign anybody or do anything.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_04]: We're still able to extend people.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_04]: If Miles Garrett, forty million dollars a year like it's nothing, we can still do these things because Jimmy's willing to pony up the cash to back it up.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_04]: And he's building a brand new freaking stadium and developing a whole new area to make Cleveland, you know, football, the centerpiece of that area up there.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's going to be awesome.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_04]: But I really have to go about Jimmy.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm okay with Jimmy, especially Randy Lerner.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_02]: He was just the epitome of awfulness.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_02]: And even the last, I'd say, you know, I'll be fifty this year.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_02]: I would say ten years old is when I was like solidified as a Browns fan.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_02]: And that would have been art modell and art modell.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_02]: I spent the last decade of his reign as the owner.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: I never liked that dude.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_02]: He was almost the reason I'm not a born cleavender.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, maybe I just should jump ship this case of clown.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, he proved it.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_02]: He basically went bankrupt, blamed it on the city, won the city to buy it, buy him out, and kind of save him.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_02]: And ultimately, that guy left us high and dry with a piece of crap.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, while the NFL did make it any better by, you know, promising something for three years and giving us a year to put it together, Art Modell is the reason that we're going through this sick lick.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_02]: crap all the time.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, think about it.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_02]: When he left Cleveland, we had Bill Bella check and we had Ozzy Newsom.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 57:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he would have won at least one championship in those years.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, you got Raven's fans sticking it in our car because they had got a couple super bulls because Ozzy Newsom will screw you guys.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Baltimore, Colts took your team.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_02]: I get it, but two wrongs don't make a right.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys can go to hell.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_02]: Second.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, hold nothing back.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, there was there anything else on this list you want to comment on before we I am on here.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_05]: I will say that I have an honorable mention.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_05]: That's here.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_05]: The list that was not on there.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_05]: Do you guys remember when Dante saw worth killed somebody and then we wish.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, don't laugh as I'm funny.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_05]: It's terrible.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_05]: That was like for real.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_05]: That's the kind of stuff that like we can expect from year to year with our favorite football team.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_05]: we did do.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_02]: When I was thinking about like, you know, I'm fuddling around here, trying to get my computer to update so we can do this.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm thinking about, well, remember when Hugh Jackson couldn't get his papers in the fax machine to get AJ Kiran to the brown fast enough.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_02]: I felt like Hugh Jackson there.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
- 58:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_05]: So I worked out for us actually, but
- 58:41[SPEAKER_05]: How's that board that we missed, but it's bad story.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_05]: It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's your right.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_05]: You're a hundred percent right.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_05]: I completely forgot about how you can forget about that.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_05]: Like God, that's amazing.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_05]: I'm like you did what you couldn't use a fax machine.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_05]: You can get the call in fast enough.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_05]: What's going on here.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_04]: How many teams make trades in the NFL?
- 59:01[SPEAKER_04]: And somehow you're the one who can't do it right.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_04]: Do it right.
- 59:03[SPEAKER_04]: What an idiot.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my gosh.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I don't know how we got this narrow down to fifteen or twenty five, but we could go on.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_04]: And on, we are getting a little bit up against the hour mark here.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_04]: So we're going to skip the next topic.
- 59:17[SPEAKER_04]: Save that for next week.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_04]: Dive into one listener mail bay question here to kind of wrap up the show.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to end this on a positive note though.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_04]: I promised a positive.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_04]: Right on, a correct positive.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_04]: So we're going to answer the question from Brad on discord.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_04]: He says, what is each of your favorite Cleveland sports memory?
- 59:36[SPEAKER_04]: Can you?
- 59:36[SPEAKER_04]: Don't you kick this one off?
- 59:37[SPEAKER_04]: What is your favorite Cleveland sports memory?
- 59:40[SPEAKER_02]: Man, I think it would be being at Baker's second game against the Ravens.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_02]: I was in the opposite field of where they were kicking a field goal in over time.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I thought this game was actually gonna finish nine, nine.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_02]: And we're sitting there, and the kicker escapes me.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_02]: Whoever the kicker was in two thousand eighteen, basically kicked a knuckle baller.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, you know, oh, I go off, we missed.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, this game's gonna go like, it's gonna be at nine nine.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_02]: Then all of a sudden the dog pound rises up and they're like, yeah, I'm like, oh my God, we won.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_02]: We won.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_02]: We beat the Ravens.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, yes, it was amazing.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_02]: And just the vibe through the stadium of beating the Ravens in Cleveland.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_02]: And the here we go, brownies champ.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: chance all the way down was one that I'll never forget.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_02]: It was fantastic.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_02]: Not as good as the jet-scape that I was at when we clinched, but that one was up there for whatever reason.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was because we just came off that long, dry, one in thirty-one, and we were starting to get back on track.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_05]: What do I do, Justin?
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_05]: Let me fast hit some of these real quick.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_05]: For sure, two thousand sixteen championship parade.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_05]: I've never, I will never experience hopefully.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_05]: I may be a Browns one, but like that was something I never thought would happen in my life.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_05]: I told you earlier at the twenty twenty playoff clinching game, Genspitzburg.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_05]: It was during COVID.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_05]: There was only like twelve thousand people there.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_05]: And I was, see, I knew it was like a special moment, because it was cool when we were going to the playoffs.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_05]: But then I looked around.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_05]: There was like,
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_05]: like grown ass fifty six-year-old men like sobbing that was just like damn this is crazy like I'm this is something really important Well a childhood one just for fun There's two really good ones, but can you often climb in the wall catch in the home run ball that will forever stick in my mind like iconic moments and then LeBron James the game winner against Orlando
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_05]: like just the crazy wild.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_05]: I remember just being in a buddy's house with like forty people and we ripped that house apart.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_05]: It was insane.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_05]: I've never just a bunch of grown men screaming and running around like idiots.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_05]: It was some of the best times of my life.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_04]: There was a lot of that when LeBron James on the caps.
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of it.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_04]: It's good time.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_04]: So many good memories.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_04]: So my personal favorite
- 1:02:12[SPEAKER_04]: to me Cleveland sports memory is back in nineteen ninety seven I was eight years old went to game four of the world series with my dad
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_04]: got to watch the Indians win, ten to three.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it was just one of those, one of those, like childhood memories that I'll never forget.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_04]: I remember, I got to leave school early, like at lunchtime.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_04]: We went up to Cleveland.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_04]: We walked around, saw all bunch of there.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_04]: There was all kind of party and stuff going on.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_04]: Like it was just fun.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_04]: And then the game was freezing cold.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_04]: And I remember it's snowed.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_04]: Some guys sitting next to us gave me like an extra pair of gloves.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_04]: It was just cool.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 1:02:51[SPEAKER_04]: There's all these random things I remember and then walking down the ramp after the game and just the way the fans were losing their minds.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_04]: That was back when Cleveland Indians baseball was.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_04]: That's why I got my shirt on because I knew we were going to talk about this.
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_04]: So.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_05]: Ninety five to ninety seven Indians is some of my favorite memories.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_05]: Those team Albert Bell to this day is my favorite baseball player.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_05]: I don't, and you know, it's probably because he trucked a short stop for no reason.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_05]: That was awesome.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_05]: But, you know, I, like, those teams, Albert Bell, told me.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Marvizkel.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Marvizkel was a god in my eyes as a kid.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_05]: Like there was nothing that could come through the agar.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah, you said, Alamar.
- 1:03:39[SPEAKER_05]: It's just, it was insane.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_05]: There was just so many great, great, great players altogether.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_05]: What's those teams, ninety five Indians is probably one of my favorite teams of all time.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_05]: It would be hard to touch that.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_04]: And like the pictures like Bartola, Cologne and all my dad.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_04]: Jared Oral has done that I went to.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I was a stud bro.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_05]: Right dude.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_05]: Blue game seven for us.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_05]: I'll remember that also.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_04]: Jose Mesa.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_04]: They're loaded.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: It was a base of the safe king.
- 1:04:11[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was Maggie.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_05]: We could go for days.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_05]: Just I literally, it's like names that are instilled in time.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_05]: Literally, it's crazy.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_02]: Those were like those teams, too, man.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_04]: Some of the most awful old names like Paul Osomacher.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_04]: You know, the person coming up and just random.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_04]: I couldn't name you ten people on five people on the TV.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_05]: I know from our team as I most people will be like who is that I'm like yeah, dude starting pitcher.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, like they we were got down like that like yeah, we knew those teams.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he's good.
- 1:04:44[SPEAKER_05]: We we knew those teams.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_05]: We love those teams.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_05]: That's yes.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_05]: That's what I mean is Cleveland sports fans.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_05]: All you have to do is just get a little momentum going, then the city will go crazy.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_05]: Really embrace and figure it out guys.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_02]: Oh man, I just filed those papers through the facts me.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go hot.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_04]: Just call them.
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_04]: So hopefully we brought it back up a little bit for you guys who are watching and listening and went through the first, you know, fifty five minutes of just depressing bullshit that this dumbass franchise has done over the years.
- 1:05:18[SPEAKER_04]: And then we just uplifted you with some positive moments.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_04]: And hopefully we get back on track this year, according to in motion football, which we'll talk about on the next episode, just a little tease.
