- 0:10Speaker 1: Go favorites live on YouTube presented by DraftKings. The crown
- 0:15Speaker 1: is yours. I'm Brandon Kravitz, your host alongside the first lady,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Kendra Middleton. Week seven is just about wrapped up. We
- 0:22Speaker 1: survived the Paris game without anything weird happening. The 49ers
- 0:26Speaker 1: lost a football game. The Miami Dolphins won a football game.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Very weird week. We'll get to all of that. We've
- 0:32Speaker 1: got receipts. We've got cash, crash, clutch, a word from
- 0:36Speaker 1: the Oracle, Evan Abrams, and a Monday night football SGP
- 0:42Speaker 1: to get you before we get on out of here.
- 0:44Speaker 1: This is one of the busiest betting days of the year.
- 0:47Speaker 1: A happy equinox day to you, Kendra. And it's a
- 0:51Speaker 1: full moon. So weird shit going on out there.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Happy Equinox to you. Happy full moon.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I think that Mercury is in reverse cowgirl again, if
- 1:00Speaker 3: I'm not mistaken.
- 1:01Speaker 2: So we've got all the things going on. We got
- 1:03Speaker 2: some spooky Halloween stuff coming up. It's going to be
- 1:06Speaker 2: a week.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I thought that was a sex position.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Mercury is in retrograde.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Okay. That's the one. Um, got it. That it is.
- 1:14Speaker 1: And it, and you know what? I think week seven
- 1:16Speaker 1: was a good detail of just how strange the world
- 1:20Speaker 1: is out there. Um, I did not do a pumpkin
- 1:24Speaker 1: patch this weekend. Did have a kid's birthday party on Saturday, though.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So left Sunday wide open.
- 1:31Speaker 2: What was the bowling alley?
- 1:32Speaker 1: It was there was Batman at a bowling alley. Okay.
- 1:37Speaker 2: You know, how about this?
- 1:39Speaker 1: It was before they even opened up. They opened up
- 1:42Speaker 1: early for us to get the VIP treatment. Had a
- 1:44Speaker 1: whole bowling alley to myself.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Can I compliment you in a really weird way? You
- 1:51Speaker 3: give the vibe that you would be good at bowling.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I don't think that was the compliment you intended it
- 1:58Speaker 1: to be, but I did win. Now, I beat my family,
- 2:03Speaker 1: like my mom and my sister and my six-year-old.
- 2:06Speaker 2: You look like you would be good at bowling.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'm not great, but I'm usually... I'm fine. Yeah. I
- 2:13Speaker 1: can't do... Here's the thing. I don't have my own ball.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I don't have my own shoes, and I can't do
- 2:18Speaker 1: that spin thing, but I do... I do Chuck that
- 2:21Speaker 1: ball with a lot of force. So it was a,
- 2:25Speaker 1: it was a winning weekend in bowling. Not so much
- 2:27Speaker 1: for me in the NFL betting world, a quick checkup
- 2:30Speaker 1: in the draft Kings contest where we crushed it again,
- 2:35Speaker 1: mostly thanks to you guys bears minus two and a half.
- 2:38Speaker 1: We had on Thursday night, Caleb Williams looked like the
- 2:41Speaker 1: league MVP in this game, but the Patriots Made it interesting.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Took a late fourth quarter field goal to put the
- 2:48Speaker 1: Bears up by nine, putting the game just slightly out
- 2:51Speaker 1: of reach, but it was a good call on the Bears.
- 2:54Speaker 1: They were the better team on Thursday night, and happy
- 2:57Speaker 1: that we cashed that one. This Thursday night streak that
- 3:00Speaker 1: we have going.
- 3:00Speaker 2: On is something serious.
- 3:00Speaker 3: We've got to keep the Thursdays going, I think, unfortunately,
- 3:03Speaker 3: until we miss. I think that that's got to be
- 3:05Speaker 3: something we work into this.
- 3:07Speaker 1: Definitely. Yeah, we've got some good Thursday night mojo. What's
- 3:11Speaker 1: the Thursday night game coming up? We have, oh, Panthers Packers.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Might have to end up on the Sad Cats on
- 3:17Speaker 1: Thursday night.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I don't know.
- 3:20Speaker 3: They both are in a spot where they might need
- 3:22Speaker 3: to bounce back. The Packers, we'll get to the Packers
- 3:24Speaker 3: game from yesterday because I've got some stuff to say,
- 3:26Speaker 3: but they both are in a, it's a bad spot
- 3:28Speaker 3: for both of them.
- 3:30Speaker 1: So the Saints, we had the Saints plus three and
- 3:32Speaker 1: a half against the Steelers.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Gross game. I need to talk about the Q. You
- 3:39Speaker 2: know what?
- 3:39Speaker 3: I think that I should have known that some weird
- 3:41Speaker 3: shit was going to happen with this game when.
- 3:44Speaker 2: They did the preview for the game.
- 3:46Speaker 3: And we saw that the Steelers quarterbacks walked in there
- 3:49Speaker 3: dressed as the Peaky Blinders. Did they think that this
- 3:52Speaker 3: game was in London?
- 3:55Speaker 2: What was that?
- 3:57Speaker 1: I think that was probably the, you know, Paris is
- 4:00Speaker 1: like the shopping capital of the world. They probably hit
- 4:03Speaker 1: up a couple of stores on the way to the game.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I'm thinking that it had something to do with that.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I think that they just had small brains and really
- 4:12Speaker 3: thought that this was a London game or something because
- 4:14Speaker 3: that did not make any sense.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Was there any sort of commotion outside of the stadium
- 4:19Speaker 1: with everything that's going on in France? Did you happen
- 4:21Speaker 1: to see any of that?
- 4:23Speaker 3: Now, I saw that some of the NFL activities got
- 4:27Speaker 3: canceled due to the protests. But other than that, I
- 4:30Speaker 3: think everything was normal. What a weird week for the
- 4:35Speaker 3: discourse of the games abroad, considering all of this was
- 4:38Speaker 3: going on and Roger Goodell announcing that there's going to
- 4:40Speaker 3: be a future game in Tokyo. Talk about being so
- 4:44Speaker 3: just greedy and money hungry and disconnected from your audience
- 4:48Speaker 3: and your players. Because quite frankly, the only people that
- 4:51Speaker 3: want this are the team owners and you because you're
- 4:55Speaker 3: making money off of it. Nobody else wants this. The
- 4:57Speaker 3: fans don't want this. The players don't want this. The
- 5:00Speaker 3: coaches don't want this. I just I don't think that
- 5:02Speaker 3: we've ever been in a time as you know, fans
- 5:05Speaker 3: or a league or just an entity as a whole
- 5:07Speaker 3: where we are so just disconnected from the reality of
- 5:11Speaker 3: where this league is at right now.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I mean, we can probably do another 30 minutes on
- 5:15Speaker 1: this talking about business at large. It feels like More
- 5:19Speaker 1: decisions than not are made strictly for the bottom line
- 5:23Speaker 1: and not for the better good of the customer. But yeah,
- 5:26Speaker 1: that's the most you've ever sounded like Aaron Rodgers. That
- 5:28Speaker 1: was exactly what he said after the game that the
- 5:31Speaker 1: that the owners essentially don't care about player safety and
- 5:34Speaker 1: that these games are not necessary. But if you're going
- 5:36Speaker 1: to do it, you stay over there longer.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Yeah, he's such a but then you're taking away more,
- 5:41Speaker 3: you know, games from season ticket holders and fans and
- 5:44Speaker 3: people who money from people who work in those stadiums
- 5:46Speaker 3: and stuff. And that's the part that grinds my gears
- 5:48Speaker 3: the most. But what a polarizing figure Aaron Rodgers is.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I don't know if he believes these things or he
- 5:53Speaker 3: changes his mind every couple of months. But he I
- 5:57Speaker 3: just I cannot figure him out for the life of me.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Sometimes he's saying the craziest things I've ever heard. And
- 6:02Speaker 3: sometimes I'm like, you know what? That was very well said.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Who are you?
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And the thing I'll say, the nice thing I'll say
- 6:08Speaker 1: about Aaron Rogers is that I don't think you can
- 6:10Speaker 1: put him into any sort of box, like right or
- 6:14Speaker 1: left wing, whatever. He is his own person. And I
- 6:18Speaker 1: think that that there's so few of that in the,
- 6:21Speaker 1: in the public eye that I think those people end
- 6:25Speaker 1: up coming across like lunatics because the, everything they say
- 6:29Speaker 1: doesn't fit the bullet point narrative spit out by one
- 6:33Speaker 1: side or the other, but we'll leave it at that.
- 6:35Speaker 1: This game, I had the saints plus three and a half.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It was one of my favorite bets of the day.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I don't know how the Steelers were favored by a
- 6:41Speaker 1: field goal plus. And I know I'm going to sound
- 6:43Speaker 1: like the, the bitter sore loser here, but the saints
- 6:47Speaker 1: really should have covered this spread. We got the closing
- 6:50Speaker 1: line value on it. That's a check. They held the
- 6:52Speaker 1: Steelers to three points in the second half. They had
- 6:56Speaker 1: 17 carries for 18 yards. Did the new Orleans saints.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I thought Tyler shuck, you know, you were in the
- 7:02Speaker 1: group chat yesterday. railing on Shuck. I thought he played okay,
- 7:06Speaker 1: but when you're that one dimensional, it's hard to win.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I think that he got really lucky with how many
- 7:13Speaker 3: times he fumbled the ball and they called him down
- 7:16Speaker 3: and just lack of ball security on his part, you know,
- 7:19Speaker 3: whether it's the fumbles, the interceptions or whatever. And I
- 7:22Speaker 3: understand that he was dealing with two broken bones in
- 7:24Speaker 3: his throwing hand and then an injury to his non-throwing hand.
- 7:27Speaker 3: But he got really lucky with some of the calls
- 7:29Speaker 3: made yesterday in his favor. This would have been, I think,
- 7:32Speaker 3: a little bit more you know, one-sided, but shout out
- 7:36Speaker 3: to Rico Dowdle. I think that he had a really, really,
- 7:40Speaker 3: did I just say Rico Dowdle? I meant Jalen Warren. Sorry,
- 7:42Speaker 3: Jalen Warren. I sound like the broadcast yesterday with Jason
- 7:45Speaker 3: Kelsey and everybody calling him Tyler Warren, but injury to
- 7:49Speaker 3: Rico Dowdle, Jalen Warren. I think that he had a
- 7:51Speaker 3: really good game yesterday. And I think that that's kind
- 7:54Speaker 3: of what saved them. I'm still kind of in a
- 7:56Speaker 3: spot where I don't really know what to think about
- 7:58Speaker 3: this Steelers team long-term though, because they certainly have, you know, issues,
- 8:03Speaker 3: but they find ways to win games, which is where
- 8:06Speaker 3: I didn't expect them to be this season with the
- 8:08Speaker 3: coaching turnover, I guess.
- 8:09Speaker 2: But it almost feels like it doesn't matter who their
- 8:12Speaker 2: coach is.
- 8:13Speaker 1: They're the same team, the exact same team. And I
- 8:16Speaker 1: was all over there under in in terms of their
- 8:20Speaker 1: win total going into the season at eight and a half.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I was on the saints over at seven and a half.
- 8:25Speaker 1: This game was not only a loss against the spread.
- 8:27Speaker 1: This was a huge L for my futures for both
- 8:30Speaker 1: of these teams. This game just went exactly the wrong way,
- 8:34Speaker 1: but you're right about the Steelers. They're five and two.
- 8:36Speaker 1: And yet you watch them play and go, how, how
- 8:39Speaker 1: are you five and two? So I will be fading
- 8:43Speaker 1: them going into week eight. This is one of a
- 8:45Speaker 1: couple of bets. I have already placed the Browns at
- 8:49Speaker 1: plus three and a half. First of all, it's the
- 8:52Speaker 1: AFC North. All of these games are decided by three.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And the Steelers just are not this good. So I,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and they're coming back from overseas as well.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I will say, and they played an overtime game last week.
- 9:04Speaker 3: So I don't think that that's a bad shout at all.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I will say though, shout out Daniel Carlson for not
- 9:08Speaker 3: being able to make field goals right now, because that
- 9:11Speaker 3: also helped me with my weird kicking punting prop saying
- 9:13Speaker 3: that I'm on right now.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Cause how do you made that?
- 9:15Speaker 1: I would have lost. So wait, you hit the Carlson
- 9:18Speaker 1: prop that you gave out on the show?
- 9:20Speaker 2: I did hit the Carlson prop.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And you were looking for those Jonah Coleman overs that
- 9:24Speaker 1: hit as well?
- 9:25Speaker 2: Got them, yep.
- 9:27Speaker 1: All right. Hey, remember the last episode you were like,
- 9:30Speaker 1: I think I'm starting to find my niche. And the
- 9:33Speaker 1: niches we're hitting this weekend is what it sounds like.
- 9:37Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I've got some stuff to watch back, but we'll have
- 9:39Speaker 3: some picks for next week for sure.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So you had the Falcons plus three and a half
- 9:43Speaker 1: in the contest against the 49ers. Great call by you.
- 9:45Speaker 1: I'm sure that the dudes that were in your mentions
- 9:48Speaker 1: will be deleting their accounts.
- 9:49Speaker 3: So they've already been responding, asking me to talk, like
- 9:54Speaker 3: explain different coverages without AI and like all of this crap.
- 9:58Speaker 3: And one dude was saying how I, will never know
- 10:01Speaker 3: anything about football because i haven't played football the way
- 10:03Speaker 3: that he has it's like okay.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Just take the l and move on you lost you
- 10:12Speaker 1: lost It's my biggest frustration with internet trolls out there
- 10:17Speaker 1: is like, if you're going to troll before a game,
- 10:19Speaker 1: because of a pick that we make or analysis that
- 10:22Speaker 1: we have, that's fine. That's part of the job. We
- 10:24Speaker 1: accept that when you get it wrong, don't double down
- 10:27Speaker 1: on your criticism. Take the L take the L and
- 10:30Speaker 1: move on. I would, I respect that sort of behavior,
- 10:33Speaker 1: but if you, if you just continue to try and
- 10:35Speaker 1: find other ways. To prove Kendra wrong. She was on
- 10:39Speaker 1: the right side. You are not only wrong. The people
- 10:42Speaker 1: out there, I saw them coming after you in the comments,
- 10:44Speaker 1: talking about how the 49ers are going to blow out
- 10:46Speaker 1: the Falcons. First of all, if that, if that was
- 10:49Speaker 1: the consensus on the game, the spread would have been
- 10:51Speaker 1: bigger than three and a half and it wasn't. Um,
- 10:54Speaker 1: so yeah. Shout out to you. Great call. Thanks.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean, I just.
- 10:59Speaker 3: After watching both of them play last week, it wasn't
- 11:02Speaker 3: that I had a ton of faith in the Falcons,
- 11:04Speaker 3: like I mentioned on our show on Thursday. They had
- 11:06Speaker 3: some real problems, specifically with ball security and on special teams.
- 11:10Speaker 2: But the 49ers, at some point.
- 11:14Speaker 3: you have to recognize that as good as they have
- 11:16Speaker 3: been working through all of these injuries, they're going to
- 11:18Speaker 3: lose some games when that's, you know, the thing. And
- 11:21Speaker 3: you're coming over here and you're playing an East coast
- 11:23Speaker 3: game at East coast times after a lot of travel
- 11:26Speaker 3: this season.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And you're looking ahead at a bi-week.
- 11:28Speaker 3: It wasn't that I think that the Falcons are better
- 11:30Speaker 3: than the 49ers by any means.
- 11:32Speaker 2: It was just a bad spot for them.
- 11:34Speaker 1: It was a very bad spot. And they, and I
- 11:37Speaker 1: think with some of the decisions they made, they admitted
- 11:39Speaker 1: that not having Mike Evans out there is huge for
- 11:41Speaker 1: this team. I bet he could have played. But the
- 11:44Speaker 1: bi-week's coming up. He's got a sore Achilles. Just sit
- 11:47Speaker 1: him down. And then their effectiveness takes a hit because
- 11:50Speaker 1: of it. They didn't have a wide receiver reception until
- 11:54Speaker 1: the second half of this game. It was either McCaffrey
- 11:57Speaker 1: or tight ends. Yeah. So, I mean, it was the
- 12:01Speaker 1: spot perfection. I did not end up betting this game
- 12:05Speaker 1: individually because... I just didn't see value with the projections
- 12:10Speaker 1: that I threw out there for the betting against the 49ers.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I've got them so highly rated this point. It's hard
- 12:15Speaker 1: for me to bet against San Francisco, but I respected
- 12:18Speaker 1: the spot enough to say, well, I'm not just going
- 12:20Speaker 1: to blindly bet into San Francisco because my silly numbers say,
- 12:23Speaker 1: so there's clearly something going on here with the way
- 12:26Speaker 1: that they're managing things going into the bi-week. So good
- 12:29Speaker 1: to see the Falcons pick up a dub at home.
- 12:31Speaker 1: First win of the season at home for them. It
- 12:34Speaker 1: did feel like the 49ers were ready for that bye
- 12:36Speaker 1: week to start. Still hung around because they are that good,
- 12:39Speaker 1: but a great game by Pennix. Three touchdowns. Two of
- 12:42Speaker 1: those touchdowns went to tight ends on National Tight Ends Day,
- 12:46Speaker 1: something that another year goes by, and I just bet
- 12:50Speaker 1: no tight end props on National Tight Ends Day.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I feel like we don't even find out that it's
- 12:55Speaker 3: National Tight Ends Day during the week anymore.
- 12:58Speaker 2: It's like day of, they say it.
- 13:01Speaker 1: It's like a mascot's birthday for a team. Like it's
- 13:04Speaker 1: always on a home game.
- 13:06Speaker 2: You know, did anybody else know that this was happening before?
- 13:09Speaker 3: Like Saturday, somebody called into my Saturday show and they
- 13:12Speaker 3: were like, do you have any national tight ends day props?
- 13:14Speaker 3: And I was like, Oh my God, I didn't even
- 13:17Speaker 3: know that that was tomorrow, but I would probably go
- 13:20Speaker 3: with Tucker craft as like the longest shot possible that
- 13:23Speaker 3: I would reach for. And yeah, They tweeted me yesterday
- 13:26Speaker 3: and they're like, thanks for the, you know, shout. And
- 13:28Speaker 3: I was like, I didn't even book that. And I
- 13:30Speaker 3: just was looking at live odds and who they were playing.
- 13:34Speaker 3: This is nothing to do with me, but I'm glad
- 13:36Speaker 3: that it worked out for you.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah. David in the, uh, in production says that Brandon
- 13:41Speaker 1: Anderson was all over on the playground episode via action network.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I did see that out there, David. Okay. We're paying attention.
- 13:48Speaker 1: What else goes on out there? But it, I think
- 13:51Speaker 1: that we would, we would forecast it better if it
- 13:54Speaker 1: was a, it was a, if it was a weekday
- 13:56Speaker 1: and you know, we got the day off of work
- 13:57Speaker 1: to celebrate tight ends, but it's always on a Sunday
- 14:00Speaker 1: or we're already off. So maybe that's the reason why.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Sorry, Brandon Anderson.
- 14:05Speaker 1: VA. We got you. All right. Uh, moving on lions
- 14:09Speaker 1: minus two and a half. We just squeaked this one.
- 14:12Speaker 2: By dumb luck. Dumb luck.
- 14:17Speaker 3: The officiating in this game was sus.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Very much. So, um, hard to disagree with that. The
- 14:25Speaker 1: lions were still moving the ball down the field at
- 14:27Speaker 1: the end of the game, even without that penalty, the
- 14:29Speaker 1: ridiculous penalty that was called on the Packers for roughing. But, um,
- 14:34Speaker 1: This was dumb luck in a sense that penalties went
- 14:37Speaker 1: our way. Some turnovers went our way, but Jameer Gibbs
- 14:42Speaker 1: could have run the ball in the end zone. And
- 14:43Speaker 1: then if you had a minus three, like I did,
- 14:47Speaker 1: you would have won the bet. Now he made the
- 14:49Speaker 1: right decision football wise to burn the clock, kick the
- 14:52Speaker 1: field goal, just walk out with a win. And because
- 14:54Speaker 1: we got the better number in contest, we still were
- 14:57Speaker 1: able to bag a win in terms of the contest play.
- 14:59Speaker 1: But I think most people out there pushed on this.
- 15:02Speaker 1: And if you were on the lions minus three and
- 15:05Speaker 1: a half, that is why, especially in division, when you've
- 15:08Speaker 1: got two quality teams, if a line goes from two
- 15:11Speaker 1: and a half to three to three and a half,
- 15:13Speaker 1: you have to, you have to just walk away from
- 15:16Speaker 1: the table. You cannot bet into that. And I think
- 15:19Speaker 1: this game is the perfect example of that. Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 2: That's a really good shout.
- 15:22Speaker 3: I mean, you know, as much as we are champions
- 15:26Speaker 3: for betting here, we're also champions for not being dumb.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Exactly. Don't be dumb. Don't be dumb around the
- 15:33Speaker 1: three in the NFL. That's a good rule of thumb.
- 15:37Speaker 1: The Chiefs didn't cover two and a half. Didn't matter.
- 15:39Speaker 1: If you got the two and a half, the three,
- 15:41Speaker 1: you could have gotten a seven. You could have gotten
- 15:44Speaker 1: a 15. You wouldn't have covered. The Chiefs were so
- 15:47Speaker 1: bad in this game, and everything sort of clicked for
- 15:52Speaker 1: the Seattle Seahawks. I don't really know even what to
- 15:56Speaker 1: say about this. I'm trying to decide in context. digesting
- 16:01Speaker 1: this game. If I'm going to completely change my analysis
- 16:06Speaker 1: of the Kansas city chiefs, I don't think I I've
- 16:10Speaker 1: been thinking this for the last couple of years, my
- 16:13Speaker 1: eyes are telling me, and some of the stats back
- 16:16Speaker 1: this up, that my homes is not the same guy.
- 16:18Speaker 1: He's not making this. He doesn't throw with the same
- 16:21Speaker 1: sort of gusto that He can't run the same. He
- 16:25Speaker 1: can't evade that fumble that almost really iced the game
- 16:29Speaker 1: at the end when he took that sack from behind.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Three years ago, he's running away from that defender. He's
- 16:34Speaker 1: feeling the pressure, and he's sprinting up the field, and
- 16:37Speaker 1: he just got walloped, and somehow he wound up recovering
- 16:40Speaker 1: the fumble. But this Chiefs team, I think that this
- 16:46Speaker 1: was perhaps the shining example of them being a little
- 16:50Speaker 1: bit overrated and us... you know, factoring that in moving forward,
- 16:54Speaker 1: your thoughts.
- 16:55Speaker 2: I think it's a couple of things.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I agree with you for the most part, but I
- 16:58Speaker 3: think what we need to remember about the chiefs, especially
- 17:01Speaker 3: given their record right now, they play in a really
- 17:03Speaker 3: tough division. So the fact that they're able to find success,
- 17:07Speaker 3: not over, you know, the last few years, but in
- 17:09Speaker 3: the beginning of this season is impressive. But I don't
- 17:12Speaker 3: know if it's there's clearly like an age thing where
- 17:16Speaker 3: they are aging out of being a super team, because I,
- 17:20Speaker 3: in my heart of hearts, believe that this has been
- 17:22Speaker 3: a super team. But the thing is, is that you
- 17:25Speaker 3: have to remember that because they're an older team, I
- 17:28Speaker 3: feel like that's what they do well is those little
- 17:30Speaker 3: things like the like the inexplainable things. Like they know
- 17:34Speaker 3: decisions to make. They can read coverages better because they've
- 17:37Speaker 3: seen it a thousand times. But the thing is, is
- 17:39Speaker 3: that when you play good teams, your, you know, intangibles don't.
- 17:45Speaker 3: matter as much because those teams have so much more
- 17:47Speaker 3: talent than you and they're so much more athletic than
- 17:50Speaker 3: you because you're just getting old and you haven't retooled
- 17:52Speaker 3: in the way that i think you should additionally because
- 17:55Speaker 3: of all the legal issues you've had your team and
- 17:57Speaker 3: your offense hasn't been together a whole lot like you
- 18:00Speaker 3: guys have had to you know filter people in and
- 18:02Speaker 3: out of different positions and stuff like that and i
- 18:04Speaker 3: don't think that that helps them in any way either
- 18:06Speaker 3: so I think the only thing keeping them afloat is
- 18:09Speaker 3: the fact that they have a lot of older guys
- 18:13Speaker 3: who can just work their asses off. But when you
- 18:17Speaker 3: play good teams like Seattle, they're just not athletic enough anymore, unfortunately.
- 18:23Speaker 1: It was a great buy low for those that bet
- 18:24Speaker 1: on the Seahawks. It was clearly the sharp side. I
- 18:26Speaker 1: think that this was one of the worst reads I
- 18:29Speaker 1: had on the entire season. This just was at no
- 18:32Speaker 1: point was ever the right decision to make a heavily
- 18:35Speaker 1: public side in prime time where you're buying high on
- 18:38Speaker 1: the chiefs and selling at the low point on the
- 18:42Speaker 1: Seattle Seahawks. That's just not the way to bet the NFL.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And so that was very much a look myself in
- 18:48Speaker 1: the mirror situation. I put that into the contest. I
- 18:53Speaker 1: deserve the L because that was terrible analysis by me.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I was part of it because I bet this too.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Emerson wholeheartedly agreed. And then you just sort of kind
- 19:02Speaker 1: of gave in. You already burned your veto. Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 3: I was going to say, I don't think that I
- 19:08Speaker 3: definitely didn't love Kansas city before this game by any means.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I thought that this was a Seattle spot, but I had.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Burned my veto and I didn't have enough of an opinion,
- 19:17Speaker 3: but yeah, Yeah, man, dude. And Harrison Butker, here's the
- 19:21Speaker 3: other thing we have to talk about this week. I
- 19:23Speaker 3: think that this is one of the points that because
- 19:25Speaker 3: I am obviously a special teams dork, as we've learned
- 19:27Speaker 3: the last couple of weeks, what are some of these
- 19:32Speaker 3: teams going to do about their kicking situation, man? I mean,
- 19:34Speaker 3: you look at what happened with the Rams. You look
- 19:36Speaker 3: at what's going on with the Saints. You look at
- 19:37Speaker 3: what's going on with Harrison Butker. There really is like
- 19:41Speaker 3: an issue with kickers in.
- 19:43Speaker 2: The league right now.
- 19:44Speaker 3: And I think that that's why some of these guys
- 19:45Speaker 3: are still hanging on to the jobs that they've had
- 19:47Speaker 3: despite the misses is because you look at what the
- 19:50Speaker 3: Rams are going through, trying to find a kicker after,
- 19:52Speaker 3: you know, they let a guy go and other guy.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Tears an ACL.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Like there is just, I think the kicking that we're
- 19:58Speaker 3: used to over the last decade or so has kind
- 20:01Speaker 3: of come and gone and because who do you even
- 20:03Speaker 3: go pick up anymore you're going to have the same
- 20:05Speaker 3: issues whether you let your guy go or go get
- 20:07Speaker 3: somebody else you're probably going to be worse off because
- 20:10Speaker 3: they're already integrated into your team in your locker room
- 20:12Speaker 3: and whatever how what do you do if you have
- 20:15Speaker 3: a shit kicker right now i really don't think that
- 20:17Speaker 3: you can afford to let the guy go you just
- 20:19Speaker 3: got to kind of keep rocking with it i i don't.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Know how much longer you can go if you have
- 20:24Speaker 1: a kicker that you can't trust i would just hold
- 20:27Speaker 1: tryouts and hope that you get lucky i think there
- 20:29Speaker 1: are there have to be NFL ready kickers that are
- 20:33Speaker 1: out there that just aren't being given the opportunity. Now
- 20:37Speaker 1: trusting that based on what you see in a scrimmage
- 20:40Speaker 1: or any sort of practice and what you actually see
- 20:43Speaker 1: on a Sunday when the lights are on is completely different,
- 20:46Speaker 1: but it's very weird the way that these guys drop off.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Harrison Butker is 31 years old. There's no reason that
- 20:54Speaker 1: this guy should have lost all. He was once the
- 20:56Speaker 1: best kicker in the league and now he lines up
- 20:59Speaker 1: for a 35 yard field goal and I'm like, No
- 21:02Speaker 1: idea if this is going in.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Daniel Carson too.
- 21:06Speaker 3: When he was with the Raiders, he was hitting like
- 21:07Speaker 3: 60 yard field goals and now he can't hit anything
- 21:10Speaker 3: over 50. I mean, it's the same exact thing. Like
- 21:14Speaker 3: I just, I don't know what it is. I don't
- 21:16Speaker 3: know what's going on with the kickers. We're seeing these
- 21:18Speaker 3: kids on freaking college game day, make these field goals,
- 21:21Speaker 3: like no problem winning these, you know, multimillion dollar checks,
- 21:24Speaker 3: but you can't show up on a Sunday and do it.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I just, I really don't know what's going on, but
- 21:28Speaker 3: I feel like everybody kind of just has to sit
- 21:30Speaker 3: and hold with their shit kicker.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Because everybody has a shit kicker right now.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. What I would want is I
- 21:38Speaker 1: would need my kicker to be sub 25 years old.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I need someone with a big boot that's at their
- 21:44Speaker 1: peak of physical athleticism who is too young and dumb
- 21:50Speaker 1: to have real thoughts. I think these guys, there's a
- 21:53Speaker 1: very select few that are able to hold on to
- 21:56Speaker 1: their prime athletically while also keeping their shit together mentally
- 22:00Speaker 1: because it's a mental game. And let's not gloss over
- 22:03Speaker 1: the fact that Harrison Butker has pretty much sucked consistently,
- 22:07Speaker 1: or at least not as good as he was ever
- 22:09Speaker 1: since he was in the news. Yep. It's a mental game.
- 22:12Speaker 1: And I think that that has had a real effect
- 22:16Speaker 1: on him.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Yeah. I would agree.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yeah. Pretty good week for the favorites. Evan, I know
- 22:23Speaker 1: we'll bring you on later, but he said, all you
- 22:25Speaker 1: have to do is go two and three. You cannot
- 22:27Speaker 1: go one and four. Oh, and five after the five
- 22:29Speaker 1: and a week. This was a great way to, back
- 22:32Speaker 1: it up. I do have a receipt for you though.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 22:38Speaker 1: You got to prove it to me.
- 22:39Speaker 2: I got to see evidence.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I'll show you the receipts.
- 22:42Speaker 2: You don't believe me.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I have the receipt for it right here. You know,
- 22:46Speaker 1: I did try to slide the bucks into the contest
- 22:50Speaker 1: and you weren't having it an ineffective use of the
- 22:53Speaker 1: veto shame and shade to you. Not only do the
- 22:58Speaker 1: bucks win and cover the, It was a rocking chair.
- 23:02Speaker 1: The Panthers were never involved in this football game. That was...
- 23:07Speaker 1: I mean, where would I be this week without that one?
- 23:11Speaker 1: But we could have had it. I didn't need the Saints.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I also wanted the Colts to cover six and a half.
- 23:19Speaker 3: I mean, I know that that was a little bit closer,
- 23:21Speaker 3: and I covered by the skin of my teeth, but.
- 23:24Speaker 2: And thank God we didn't put the freaking....
- 23:28Speaker 3: Cardinals in there because i also wanted them and they
- 23:30Speaker 3: shit the bed yesterday too yeah big time uh i
- 23:34Speaker 3: know i was.
- 23:36Speaker 1: You know i was thinking well you know kendra's gonna
- 23:38Speaker 1: have to apologize to baker mayfield uh nope he had
- 23:42Speaker 1: nothing to do with that victor we'll get to that
- 23:44Speaker 1: in a moment because they are my cash of the
- 23:46Speaker 1: week brief tease for you middleton what is your one
- 23:49Speaker 1: big takeaway from week seven so far.
- 23:52Speaker 3: My one big takeaway is I hate the refereeing and
- 23:58Speaker 3: I hate all of the penalties going on, but we
- 24:00Speaker 3: need to have a serious conversation. about these punches that
- 24:04Speaker 3: are being thrown that are allegedly these like peanut style
- 24:08Speaker 3: punches at the football when in reality most of these
- 24:10Speaker 3: punches if you're watching these games specifically there was one
- 24:13Speaker 3: yesterday that's you know kind of all over Twitter and
- 24:15Speaker 3: that I saw happen in real time which I also
- 24:17Speaker 3: tweeted about I believe it was Dre Greenlaw on Kyle
- 24:20Speaker 3: Pitts I could be wrong about who the two players
- 24:22Speaker 3: were but I believe that's correct where he just throws
- 24:25Speaker 3: a punch. And there are multiple instances of this, but
- 24:27Speaker 3: they slowed this one down so people could see it.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Goes to punch the ball, punches his helmet.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Which it had to hurt Dre Greenlaw more than it
- 24:35Speaker 3: hurt Kyle Pitts. But the thing is, is that the
- 24:37Speaker 3: last couple of weeks, I have seen guys throwing these punches.
- 24:40Speaker 3: And they're not even landing on the ball. They're landing
- 24:43Speaker 3: in their kidney shots. They're, you know, rib shots. They're
- 24:46Speaker 3: just throwing punches for the sake of pretending to kind
- 24:49Speaker 3: of punch the ball or they think that they're punching
- 24:52Speaker 3: at the ball or whatever. We cannot have people out
- 24:55Speaker 3: here just throwing freaking haymakers at people and, you know,
- 24:59Speaker 3: the spirit of it being punching the ball. I'm sorry
- 25:02Speaker 3: that can't happen because as last season went, as this
- 25:05Speaker 3: season went, we're seeing more and more of these star
- 25:07Speaker 3: players being in running backs and quarterbacks get injured. And
- 25:12Speaker 3: if you want to keep the game entertaining, if you
- 25:13Speaker 3: want to keep people watching, those star players have to
- 25:16Speaker 3: stay in these games. And you cannot have these guys
- 25:18Speaker 3: on defense just going out there and throwing punches at people.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And I love how.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Many turnovers there have been in the season so far
- 25:25Speaker 3: this year. I think that it has made the games
- 25:27Speaker 3: super interesting. It has kept teams in games, but we
- 25:31Speaker 3: cannot have haymakers, just the kidney shots, just being throttled
- 25:35Speaker 3: at people like that cannot happen.
- 25:38Speaker 1: So I'm curious, Evan, when we bring you on later,
- 25:42Speaker 1: if you have fumble stats compared to other years, I
- 25:46Speaker 1: would love to have those. Cause I've seen these, this punch,
- 25:50Speaker 1: this peanut punch more frequently this year. It seems like
- 25:53Speaker 1: every year we see it a little bit more and more.
- 25:55Speaker 1: It feels to me just like your, your two touchdown
- 25:58Speaker 1: feel from a couple of weeks ago. It feels like
- 26:01Speaker 1: we're seeing an uptick in fumbles compared to previous seasons.
- 26:04Speaker 1: And I think there is a direct correlation there. Between
- 26:07Speaker 1: the two, whether it's good for the game or not,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I don't know. For me, it depends on what side
- 26:12Speaker 1: of the bed I'm on that my bias in the
- 26:14Speaker 1: moment as to whether or not I like it. But
- 26:17Speaker 1: I think if they are to get rid of that.
- 26:20Speaker 1: They have to give something back to the defense. The
- 26:23Speaker 1: reason that defenders are doing this is because so much
- 26:27Speaker 1: has been taken away from them with their advantages of
- 26:30Speaker 1: being able to get physical with an offensive player that
- 26:33Speaker 1: this is their way of saying, okay, well, if we
- 26:36Speaker 1: have to give up big plays because we can't touch anybody,
- 26:39Speaker 1: then at least we can knock the ball out. It
- 26:41Speaker 1: seems like this is the counter to that.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I just I and if you hit the ball
- 26:45Speaker 3: or you're close enough, fine. But like in the instances
- 26:48Speaker 3: like yesterday or where you're just like kidney shotting these
- 26:50Speaker 3: guys like that has to be a penalty.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Like so you're saying that if you you can go
- 26:56Speaker 1: if you were making the rule, if Kendra was commish
- 26:58Speaker 1: for a day, you would make the rule where the
- 27:01Speaker 1: punch is legal. But if you don't land it on
- 27:04Speaker 1: the football, it's a penalty.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Or somewhere believable.
- 27:08Speaker 3: I'm sorry, if someone's holding the ball in this whatever
- 27:11Speaker 3: three-point thing that they've been showing, fine. If you land
- 27:15Speaker 3: anywhere here, cool with that. And if you're listening to
- 27:19Speaker 3: this and not watching it, I'm so sorry. But if
- 27:21Speaker 3: you're landing shots on anyone's side ribs or their back
- 27:25Speaker 3: or their kidneys or whatever else, Like, I'm sorry, that's
- 27:28Speaker 3: not close enough for me to believe that you're punching
- 27:31Speaker 3: at the football. There is a very specific area where
- 27:33Speaker 3: these guys are holding the football, and it is not
- 27:35Speaker 3: their kidneys or their ribs.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Like, it's just, it's not.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Punch. I think I would do, like, the hand gesture
- 27:44Speaker 1: that they're going to come up with for this. Punch
- 27:46Speaker 1: outside of the vicinity of the ball carrier 15 yards.
- 27:50Speaker 1: First down.
- 27:52Speaker 3: I just, it's getting to a point where we've seen
- 27:54Speaker 3: enough people go down and I know that it takes,
- 27:56Speaker 3: and it takes so much away from the defense with
- 27:58Speaker 3: these roughing the passer calls and whatever else. But if
- 28:03Speaker 3: you want to keep people interested, you've got to keep
- 28:06Speaker 3: the quarterbacks and, you know, the Jameer Gibbs and the
- 28:08Speaker 3: Christian McCaffrey's of the world healthy. I'm sorry, you do.
- 28:10Speaker 3: That's the moneymaker. That's what people are watching. I'm not
- 28:13Speaker 3: here to watch, you know, more backup quarterback football.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I'll tell you that.
- 28:17Speaker 1: I dig it. It's not boxing. It's football. So let's
- 28:20Speaker 1: find a way to get that right. We have much
- 28:22Speaker 1: to get to. Cash, crash, clutch. We've got our Monday

- 29:18Speaker 1: No, it was cash.
- 29:21Speaker 2: So clutch.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Let's get to it. Cash, crash, clutch of the week.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Get us started, Kendra. Who is your cash of the week?
- 29:30Speaker 2: It had to be the Falcons.
- 29:31Speaker 3: I know we already talked about them, but with the
- 29:33Speaker 3: amount of crap people were talking to me online. And
- 29:35Speaker 3: can I just say that 49ers fans are my least
- 29:38Speaker 3: favorite fans in the NFL?
- 29:41Speaker 2: They always have been.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Like, I think that I've talked about this before, how
- 29:45Speaker 3: like one of them pulled my hair and like I
- 29:47Speaker 3: got in a fight with one of them last year
- 29:49Speaker 3: when I was out there.
- 29:50Speaker 2: They're just evil.
- 29:51Speaker 3: And so for me to take a victory lap that
- 29:52Speaker 3: they lost to the freaking Atlanta Falcons on that has
- 29:55Speaker 3: to be my cash all day long.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that was, uh, that was pretty sweet. I haven't
- 30:00Speaker 1: gone back to, so when that happens and you get
- 30:02Speaker 1: trolled like that, are you going to, to seek those
- 30:06Speaker 1: people out? Are you waiting to see what their followup is?
- 30:09Speaker 1: What's the tact for you and how you handle that online?
- 30:12Speaker 2: It's usually just, it depends how bad that it was.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Like with the amount of people that were jumping on
- 30:18Speaker 3: it yesterday, or if you say something heinous to me,
- 30:20Speaker 3: of course, I'm going to take a victory lap. Like
- 30:22Speaker 3: there was a guy last year who emailed my radio
- 30:25Speaker 3: station and mess, like commented on a bunch of my
- 30:27Speaker 3: stuff with my preseason bet for the Panthers saying that
- 30:30Speaker 3: I was an idiot. And the only reason I had
- 30:31Speaker 3: a job was because I was a woman. I took
- 30:33Speaker 3: a pretty hard victory lap on that guy. But if
- 30:35Speaker 3: you're cool and you're just, you know, talking normal crap,
- 30:37Speaker 3: like I'll let you live. But if you're going to,
- 30:40Speaker 3: you know, Say some real crazy shit. I'm going to
- 30:42Speaker 3: take a victory lap.
- 30:43Speaker 1: As you should. My cash is on the Bucs defense.
- 30:47Speaker 1: The Bucs run game. Everybody except for Baker Mayfield. Baker
- 30:51Speaker 1: Mayfield wasn't bad. He was just a bystander to the situation.
- 30:54Speaker 1: The man threw for 64 yards. He had six pass
- 30:57Speaker 1: attempts in the first half. The Bucs had 17 rushing
- 31:02Speaker 1: first downs in this game. Three via the arm of
- 31:07Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield. Tampa won the coin toss. They got the ball,
- 31:10Speaker 1: ran right down the field. It was game over after that.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It was all bucks all day. It was awesome.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Did you see Bucky Irving when he got tackled and
- 31:19Speaker 3: like kicked one of the refs? There were two ref
- 31:21Speaker 3: kickings yesterday, but this one was by far the less egregious,
- 31:27Speaker 3: more funny one.
- 31:27Speaker 2: Because once again, I'm sorry if you're listening.
- 31:29Speaker 3: To this as a podcast and not watching it on YouTube,
- 31:32Speaker 3: but this is literally what Bucky Irving did yesterday to
- 31:34Speaker 3: a ref.
- 31:34Speaker 2: He goes, It was so insane. I was so high.
- 31:40Speaker 3: On my couch and I saw that happen and I
- 31:43Speaker 3: just like tears started coming from my eyes because it
- 31:45Speaker 3: was so cartoon worthy.
- 31:47Speaker 1: If that was not a vote for watch the podcast
- 31:51Speaker 1: on YouTube, I got nothing else for you.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Gifford said we missed it. Do it again. I can
- 31:57Speaker 2: do it again for you guys.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Hold on. Here we go. There it is. There's no
- 32:02Speaker 1: chance that doesn't end up online as a clip.
- 32:04Speaker 2: The Bucky Irving, ladies and gentlemen.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I'm trying to find this clip on Twitter. I can't
- 32:11Speaker 1: see it. I don't know.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I liked it. I'm sure I can find it when
- 32:14Speaker 2: we get off of here. It was very good.
- 32:16Speaker 1: My, uh, oh, also by the way, on that game, the, uh,
- 32:20Speaker 1: the Panthers lost Taylor Moten in this game, rough watch
- 32:23Speaker 1: for Carolina. They had this division of stranglehold. If they
- 32:27Speaker 1: had won, they would have been foreign to in the
- 32:29Speaker 1: NFC South, which is like having a five game lead.
- 32:32Speaker 1: They blew it. The good news is, is I think.
- 32:37Speaker 1: This creates some buying opportunities in the future. Not necessarily
- 32:40Speaker 1: on Thursday night. I'm not ready to jump in just yet,
- 32:44Speaker 1: but this is when you buy Carolina is this moment
- 32:48Speaker 1: where they're doubted, they're struggling. And all of a sudden
- 32:51Speaker 1: they're catching three and a half, four and a half points,
- 32:53Speaker 1: especially if they're at home, that's when you want Carolina.
- 32:57Speaker 1: So I'm not saying jump on them at this moment.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I'm just saying that we will, if not this week,
- 33:03Speaker 1: within the next three weeks, we will be betting on
- 33:05Speaker 1: the Panthers.
- 33:06Speaker 3: And I know that this was a really good moment
- 33:09Speaker 3: for Tampa Bay, but I have to say it doesn't
- 33:11Speaker 3: make me feel like I want to run to bet
- 33:14Speaker 3: on Tampa Bay moving forward because of how Baker looks.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:19Speaker 2: You can't do that every single week.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Definitely not. Their defense is good. It's not one of
- 33:25Speaker 1: the best ever. Bucky Irving was amazing. They have the
- 33:29Speaker 1: Falcons this week, and they're favored by a point and
- 33:32Speaker 1: a half. this is a weird spot for both teams.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Cause you're buying high. It's like, who do you choose
- 33:39Speaker 1: to buy high on? I'm going to let the, let
- 33:41Speaker 1: the market decide where that goes. My crash of the week,
- 33:47Speaker 1: the Raiders season Raiders futures Raiders, everything they have successfully
- 33:53Speaker 1: blown a three Oh, start to the season. Hard to
- 33:57Speaker 1: do a disaster playoff tickets.
- 34:01Speaker 4: All of it.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Just set them on flames. They are done. They have
- 34:04Speaker 1: now lost four straight. They've been blown out twice in
- 34:07Speaker 1: the last three games. I think Kirk cousins was bad
- 34:11Speaker 1: early on, but he wasn't really the problem. The defense
- 34:14Speaker 1: isn't good. And the biggest issue I have with this team,
- 34:17Speaker 1: Kendra is Ashton. Yeah, this was a bad draft pick.
- 34:23Speaker 1: You take a guy, they took him sixth overall a
- 34:26Speaker 1: year ago. You have to be an all-time talent at
- 34:29Speaker 1: running back. I'm okay drafting running backs in the first round.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I'm not one of these people that say you cannot
- 34:34Speaker 1: do it. But you better be drafting Bijan Robinson. You
- 34:37Speaker 1: better be drafting Jameer Gibbs or Christian McCaffrey. If you're not,
- 34:41Speaker 1: it's a total waste. You have to be all-time great.
- 34:44Speaker 1: This guy has been bad. 1.9 per carry in this game.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Last three weeks, his rushing totals, 27, 22, and 15 runs.
- 34:54Speaker 1: That's their biggest problem to one dimensional and they're bad
- 34:57Speaker 1: on defense, bad combo.
- 34:59Speaker 3: And that's the other thing is that like, you can't
- 35:00Speaker 3: even really look to trade a guy like that because
- 35:03Speaker 3: you invested so much in him. And I don't, he's
- 35:06Speaker 3: not good enough to be the Saquon card where he's
- 35:09Speaker 3: a finishing piece for somebody else on a bad team.
- 35:12Speaker 3: So what do you even really do with him to
- 35:16Speaker 3: make it worth it, to make it worth that pick?
- 35:17Speaker 2: I really don't know.
- 35:18Speaker 3: There's not a whole lot you can do unless... And
- 35:20Speaker 3: nobody needs a running back bad enough to overpay that price.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just... And for him, it's dump-offs or nothing.
- 35:29Speaker 1: If you look at his receiving totals, it's fine. Maybe
- 35:32Speaker 1: if you have him in fantasy.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Receiving totals are decent.
- 35:34Speaker 1: But I don't... But, like, none of that... It's not
- 35:36Speaker 1: like he's not... He's not a route runner. He's not
- 35:39Speaker 1: out there helping to, he's not helping the pass game.
- 35:43Speaker 1: He's a, he's a release valve for when nothing's available.
- 35:47Speaker 1: That's not a real part of your offense. So, um,
- 35:49Speaker 1: he's a guy I'm, I'm definitely down on and he
- 35:52Speaker 1: was somebody. I had the Raiders to make the playoffs.
- 35:55Speaker 1: I had Ashton Gentry offensive player of the year as
- 35:58Speaker 1: one of my long shot bets. I mean, we're just
- 36:00Speaker 1: this week. I am lighting tickets on fire from the
- 36:03Speaker 1: preseason left and right.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I feel bad for you.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Everything like really worked out in my favor this week,
- 36:08Speaker 3: which I know that that means that my week for,
- 36:10Speaker 3: you know, hell is coming, but I, I feel for you.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I really do.
- 36:15Speaker 1: At the close of the season, we're all good.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Yeah, my crash is going to be the Carolina Panthers.
- 36:19Speaker 3: I know we just talked about them, but the reason
- 36:22Speaker 3: that they are going to be my crash is because
- 36:24Speaker 3: I thought that this was a spot in the schedule
- 36:27Speaker 3: where they could build some momentum in the division because
- 36:31Speaker 3: I love to talk about the schedule.
- 36:34Speaker 2: They have a really, really tough season.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Time finishing out this this you know next two-thirds of
- 36:39Speaker 3: the season here they're gonna play some really tough teams
- 36:42Speaker 3: coming up they're gonna go on the road for the
- 36:44Speaker 3: Packers Broncos they're gonna get the Saints which is fine
- 36:46Speaker 3: Ravens they're gonna play the Bucks again Vikings Bengals Steelers
- 36:52Speaker 3: Seahawks finish with the Falcons That's a tough go of
- 36:55Speaker 3: things for the Carolina Panthers. And I really am optimistic
- 37:00Speaker 3: about the coaching and Bryce Young getting back on track
- 37:02Speaker 3: and them utilizing Tedaroa McMillan the same way they were
- 37:05Speaker 3: in the early weeks of the season. But with the
- 37:08Speaker 3: next couple of games that they have being the Packers
- 37:10Speaker 3: and the Broncos, it's tough to get right against teams
- 37:13Speaker 3: like that.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Let's play one of my favorite games, which is guess
- 37:18Speaker 1: this week's divisional odds in the NFC South. Who do
- 37:21Speaker 1: you think is favored to win this division right now?
- 37:24Speaker 2: I would say probably the bucks.
- 37:27Speaker 1: It is not. In fact, you can still get the
- 37:29Speaker 1: bucks at plus four 50. Wow.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Who is it? Is it the Panthers?
- 37:34Speaker 1: It is the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers are plus one 30.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Who is betting that right now? Nobody. I hope half
- 37:45Speaker 1: game up on Atlanta. They're one game up on Tampa.
- 37:52Speaker 1: That is wow. No, no, thank you on that. Yeah.
- 37:56Speaker 1: That's a, you know, plus four 50, not the worst time.
- 37:58Speaker 1: There's always a bet. I feel like there's always a
- 38:00Speaker 1: bet to be made in the NFC South because this
- 38:02Speaker 1: division just sort of like returns itself every single week. Yep. Okay.
- 38:08Speaker 1: So those are our cash. Those are our crash clutch.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I have Gifford hates when we do this. So I'm
- 38:13Speaker 1: going to, I'm trying, I'm still trying to whittle this
- 38:16Speaker 1: down to one because there's so many good ones this week.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I'll let you go first. Maybe, maybe you'll take one
- 38:21Speaker 1: of the ones that I have off my plate.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I was going to say my clutch had to
- 38:25Speaker 3: be I have two different things here because I want
- 38:30Speaker 3: to say that it would be the New York Giants
- 38:33Speaker 3: because one, I hate the Houston Texans. Two, it helps
- 38:36Speaker 3: my future. And three, just the J.J. McCarthy factor of
- 38:42Speaker 3: it all, which I know you had written down. So
- 38:44Speaker 3: I have to say the New York Giants and J.J. McCarthy,
- 38:47Speaker 3: because who really expected that from him yesterday? When we
- 38:50Speaker 3: talked about this game, when we previewed it, we were
- 38:52Speaker 3: sitting here like, OK, there's one of two ways that
- 38:54Speaker 3: they can go with this. And I said that they're
- 38:57Speaker 3: either going to dumb this down for him and try
- 39:00Speaker 3: and make it easy, or they're going to let him
- 39:02Speaker 3: go out there and sling the ball the way that
- 39:03Speaker 3: he did in.
- 39:05Speaker 2: The second half last week.
- 39:06Speaker 3: And I thought that that was the better option, despite
- 39:08Speaker 3: the fact that he is JJ McCarthy and he will
- 39:10Speaker 3: turn the ball over. And I'm glad that they did
- 39:12Speaker 3: this because this was a game where they were expected
- 39:15Speaker 3: to get their ass kicked, not just by their own.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Fans, by the books, by the national view.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Everything was this was supposed to be the week where
- 39:23Speaker 3: they just get their shit pushed in. And they went
- 39:26Speaker 3: out there and they let JJ McCarthy sling the football.
- 39:29Speaker 3: And that's exactly what he did. And I think it
- 39:32Speaker 3: changes a lot of conversations, not only in the division,
- 39:35Speaker 3: if he can continue to play that way, obviously is
- 39:37Speaker 3: one thing, but seeing that version of him yesterday has
- 39:40Speaker 3: to kind of make the NFC East to be like, well,
- 39:42Speaker 3: I don't know what's going to go on here now,
- 39:44Speaker 3: because if he looks like that and they're, It's the
- 39:46Speaker 3: coaching too, man. It's the coaching. What a day for
- 39:49Speaker 3: them yesterday. The Jaguars were off, still getting Ws. Good
- 39:53Speaker 3: for J.J.
- 39:54Speaker 2: McCarthy. Thank you to the New York Giants. What a time.
- 39:58Speaker 1: You're right about the coaching. I think that's a huge
- 40:00Speaker 1: factor in all of this. J.J. McCarthy, kind of his
- 40:04Speaker 1: own story. But what John Harbaugh did in putting pressure
- 40:08Speaker 1: on that backfield, saying somebody's got to step the fuck up.
- 40:13Speaker 1: And they, that's what, at the end of the game,
- 40:15Speaker 1: when they needed a win and overtime, that's what won
- 40:18Speaker 1: them the game. And, and cam Scataboo was one of
- 40:20Speaker 1: the best running backs on the day, 124 yards on
- 40:22Speaker 1: the ground and a touchdown. He was challenged by Harbaugh
- 40:25Speaker 1: where some other coaches might not do that. Um, and he,
- 40:29Speaker 1: John Harbaugh publicly challenged those guys. They stepped up. Devin
- 40:33Speaker 1: Singletary was huge at the end of that game. And yeah, JJ,
- 40:37Speaker 1: who the hell saw that coming 20 of 28 to
- 40:39Speaker 1: 52 and 99 passer rating. I think that he is
- 40:44Speaker 1: just dumb enough to be the right kind of quarterback
- 40:50Speaker 1: to take advantage of a Texans defense that is clearly overrated.
- 40:53Speaker 1: We need to come to terms with that, but they
- 40:55Speaker 1: can still get after the passer. And if you're aggressive
- 40:57Speaker 1: against them, you can flip the field on them. And
- 41:01Speaker 1: he just, he was throwing darts down the field. This
- 41:05Speaker 1: was not like a dink and dunk kind of passing
- 41:07Speaker 1: game from him.
- 41:08Speaker 3: I was going to say, it kind of reminds me
- 41:10Speaker 3: of your point with young kickers. I think that he's
- 41:12Speaker 3: just young enough to not let the moment get to
- 41:15Speaker 3: his head because he can't fathom how big the moment is.
- 41:19Speaker 3: And the fact that he had a new coach to
- 41:21Speaker 3: kind of coach him up in a way that he
- 41:22Speaker 3: wasn't used to, I think did him a lot of favors.
- 41:25Speaker 1: What do you think Jackson Dart was thinking as he's
- 41:28Speaker 1: watching this?
- 41:30Speaker 3: Um, I don't think Jackson's nervous for his job at all,
- 41:33Speaker 3: but it does invite the question of, OK, let's say
- 41:36Speaker 3: that he goes out there, wins them the division and
- 41:38Speaker 3: they make the playoffs.
- 41:39Speaker 2: And, you know, Baker continues to suck.
- 41:41Speaker 3: We're going to have to have conversations about Jalen Daniels
- 41:43Speaker 3: and JJ McCarthy in the next couple of weeks. And
- 41:45Speaker 3: I think that both of those things are going to
- 41:47Speaker 3: be something that we have to do because I don't
- 41:49Speaker 3: see Baker getting any better.
- 41:50Speaker 1: And.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I think that the coaching in New York is good
- 41:53Speaker 3: enough for JJ to have a turnaround of his career.
- 41:56Speaker 3: But once again, I don't see it being any different
- 41:59Speaker 3: than the Sam Darnold career where he looks good enough
- 42:03Speaker 3: on a good team to have some good moments.
- 42:05Speaker 2: But in reality, who actually is he?
- 42:08Speaker 1: The Bucs already paid Baker, so they've kind of already
- 42:10Speaker 1: made their bed. If JJ McCarthy gets this team to
- 42:13Speaker 1: the playoffs and they win the NFC East, The Giants
- 42:17Speaker 1: have to look at Jackson Dart and say, well, we
- 42:19Speaker 1: like you, but you sure do have a problem staying healthy.
- 42:23Speaker 1: And you'll be coming back off of an ACL injury.
- 42:25Speaker 1: And we have this other guy that we really like, who,
- 42:28Speaker 1: by the way, looks just like you. I think there's
- 42:31Speaker 1: more to that.
- 42:32Speaker 3: If I'm not mistaken, JJ is a class before Jackson, right?
- 42:36Speaker 3: Are they the same class? When would they both be
- 42:39Speaker 3: due to be paid? I think that's another thing we
- 42:43Speaker 3: need to consider here.
- 42:44Speaker 1: JJ McCarthy's clock is one year ahead.
- 42:46Speaker 2: I think so as well. I think something is something
- 42:48Speaker 2: that they would have to factor in.
- 42:50Speaker 1: My clutch will be the Miami dolphins off the buy.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Wasn't sure that was going to matter very much. I
- 42:56Speaker 1: missed a golden opportunity to bet on my favorite team,
- 43:00Speaker 1: but I didn't. I'm proud. Nonetheless, 28 to 25 after
- 43:03Speaker 1: the jets made a late push, they converted a two
- 43:06Speaker 1: point try. It's fourth and one. At the Jets 49,
- 43:10Speaker 1: I thought the Dolphins were handing the game to the Jets.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I thought, what a Dolphins move. Go for it on
- 43:16Speaker 1: fourth and one, which is the right decision to make.
- 43:18Speaker 1: But I thought for sure they're not going to get it.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Tush push. They convert the first down. Dolphins seal the victory.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Officially not going winless. I could cry, but I will
- 43:28Speaker 1: hold it in like a real man.
- 43:31Speaker 3: You want to know why I am actually so happy
- 43:34Speaker 3: for you in this moment, selfishly? Because you know who
- 43:39Speaker 3: the worst team in the NFL is now, thanks to that?
- 43:44Speaker 1: Would that be the Titans?
- 43:46Speaker 2: It would be the Chargers.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Oh my God, that's right. I forgot about that. I
- 43:49Speaker 1: kind of forgot that the Chargers were in the NFL
- 43:52Speaker 1: for a minute.
- 43:52Speaker 2: It would be the Chargers.
- 43:53Speaker 3: I believe that they are the owners of the first
- 43:55Speaker 3: overall pick at the moment.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Wow. How funny would that be? What a, what a
- 44:02Speaker 1: fun off season conversation. I don't even know that there's
- 44:05Speaker 1: a quarterback in this draft class that's worth going number
- 44:07Speaker 1: one overall, but I'm, I'm sure that we'll force somebody
- 44:10Speaker 1: to the top of that list.
- 44:12Speaker 2: You think they'd go quarterback?
- 44:16Speaker 1: I kind of do. I kind of like you've been,
- 44:19Speaker 1: you've been talking about this for weeks now. Do you
- 44:21Speaker 1: got to look at trading Justin Herbert and kind of
- 44:24Speaker 1: just start a new, I think I could see them
- 44:27Speaker 1: at the end of the year, just gutting the front
- 44:29Speaker 1: office and, gutting the coaching staff.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I don't think they got the code.
- 44:33Speaker 3: I think the coach days, they might be because your,
- 44:36Speaker 3: your problem before the coach is the same after the coach.
- 44:40Speaker 2: It's the quarterback.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I have a crazy stat for you that I saw
- 44:46Speaker 1: on the pregame show on NBC, by the way, Mike
- 44:50Speaker 1: Tomlin crushing it. Mike Tomlin, Taylor, the, the chemistry between
- 44:55Speaker 1: those two.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Tremendous crushing it. I am obsessed with the Mike Tomlin show.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Yeah. They brought this up. The jets, their head coach,
- 45:04Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn has been outscored 107 to six in the
- 45:08Speaker 1: final two minutes of the first half during his time
- 45:10Speaker 1: with New York. I will say that one more time
- 45:12Speaker 1: for the people in the back one Oh seven to
- 45:15Speaker 1: six in the final two minutes of the first half
- 45:18Speaker 1: during his time with the jets, the last two seasons.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Do we think he survives? No, I don't think so either.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I do not, but they did. They set him up
- 45:28Speaker 2: to fail to be fair.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Oh God, the jets have the Raiders. This is a really,
- 45:35Speaker 1: this is going to be a really hard week. Really,
- 45:37Speaker 1: really week eight is going to be tough because you've
- 45:39Speaker 1: got these teams that are headed in the right, in
- 45:41Speaker 1: the same direction that are playing against each other. And
- 45:43Speaker 1: we have to decide who we believe in less or
- 45:46Speaker 1: more and all of that. Also, it's not an official
- 45:49Speaker 1: clutch of the week because I already gave one, but
- 45:53Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson and the Browns are five and two Deshaun
- 45:56Speaker 1: Watson has five. Game winning drives in the fourth quarter.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I told you they'd be my P words this year.
- 46:03Speaker 3: Nobody believed me. No, everybody laughed. Everybody laughed at me.
- 46:09Speaker 1: I'm still laughing at you, but that's just out of stubbornness.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Who is your diva of the week? He's just a diva. No,
- 46:16Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 46:16Speaker 2: An impossible diva.
- 46:19Speaker 1: What would make you say something like that?
- 46:21Speaker 2: It's pretty obvious. Diva alert! Okay, I have two. You
- 46:25Speaker 2: can take... Actually, I'm going to let you take the one.
- 46:28Speaker 3: That you like better. You go first here. I gave
- 46:30Speaker 3: us two for you to steal one. Whichever one you
- 46:32Speaker 3: like better, you take.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so peek behind the curtain. We share notes here.
- 46:36Speaker 1: I just didn't... I couldn't fall in love with anything
- 46:39Speaker 1: for diva of the week. I felt like I was
- 46:41Speaker 1: forcing it. Um, I am, I'm going to give it
- 46:46Speaker 1: to the chiefs fans losing it in the comments of
- 46:49Speaker 1: the Seahawks friendship bracelet post. I did not even see that,
- 46:53Speaker 1: but that, that you're going to have to explain that. Okay.
- 46:56Speaker 1: That'll be my choice is the chiefs fans.
- 46:58Speaker 2: Okay. So do you know about the Taylor Swift friendship
- 47:01Speaker 2: bracelet thing?
- 47:02Speaker 1: I know. Yeah, of course.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Okay.
- 47:03Speaker 3: So the Seahawks social media team posted a picture of
- 47:07Speaker 3: two of the friendship bracelets and it says Seahawks win. Um,
- 47:10Speaker 3: And the Swifties lost their shit in the comments of
- 47:15Speaker 3: this post. Just the stereotypical, like, you might have won
- 47:19Speaker 3: a Super Bowl last year, but we've won all these
- 47:21Speaker 3: Super Bowls in the last couple of years.
- 47:23Speaker 2: And how dare you guys? And you hate women and blah, blah, blah.
- 47:27Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 47:28Speaker 3: The fact that you freaks who have cared about football
- 47:31Speaker 3: for half an hour are losing your shit over a
- 47:33Speaker 3: friendship bracelet post is just a trophy of how soft
- 47:38Speaker 3: you actually are. This could have been so much worse
- 47:42Speaker 3: and you're losing it over a freaking friendship bracelet.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Get in the back of the damn line.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Are you sure 49ers fans are the worst if that's
- 47:49Speaker 1: the way they're reacting to this? The Chiefs fans might
- 47:52Speaker 1: be zooming to the top.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Because that's the thing is that like my friendship bracelet
- 47:56Speaker 3: would make them cry. Whereas if I like a 49ers
- 47:59Speaker 3: fan is mad at me, they're going to pull my
- 48:00Speaker 3: hair and spit on me. So I'd rather you just
- 48:04Speaker 3: cry that I'm wearing a freaking friendship bracelet than pull
- 48:06Speaker 3: my hair.
- 48:07Speaker 2: I have to be honest.
- 48:09Speaker 3: My diva of the week is going to be the
- 48:12Speaker 3: ref that fell on to Amon Ra and he's like
- 48:15Speaker 3: laying there like plank boarded on the floor and still
- 48:18Speaker 3: just pulls his flag out and throws it while he's
- 48:20Speaker 3: just like laying dead on the ground. And everyone's like
- 48:23Speaker 3: surrounding him when he fell into Amun-Ra, by the way.
- 48:27Speaker 3: And just the way that he's laying there and just
- 48:29Speaker 3: still reaches for his flag to throw is so theatrical
- 48:33Speaker 3: and diva-esque.
- 48:34Speaker 2: It had to be included.
- 48:36Speaker 1: The refs have been on one this year. It feels
- 48:39Speaker 1: like every week we've got some story of refs doing
- 48:42Speaker 1: something that's just a little bit extra.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Did you see the clip that I'm talking about?
- 48:47Speaker 1: No, I swear we're on different internets.
- 48:50Speaker 3: I really don't know how, to be honest, because everybody
- 48:53Speaker 3: else that I work with is like, my internet has
- 48:55Speaker 3: been infiltrated with everything that you post. And I'm not
- 49:01Speaker 3: even sorry about it. You're the only one that's not.
- 49:03Speaker 3: By the way, I don't know if you saw this,
- 49:04Speaker 3: but in the other thing in the Lions Packers game,
- 49:07Speaker 3: the one of the Packers players like jumped offside. And
- 49:11Speaker 3: did you see all the Lions fans like the Lions
- 49:13Speaker 3: players like doing like the peanut dances?
- 49:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 49:16Speaker 3: So good. That was also awesome. That's not like a
- 49:19Speaker 3: diva move. but they just, the way that they all
- 49:22Speaker 3: started doing like the same moves at the same time,
- 49:24Speaker 3: when you like look at all the different angles of it,
- 49:26Speaker 3: it was multiple people and it was very, very well done.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I thought in some respects, Tom Brady reacting on the broadcast,
- 49:34Speaker 1: the Fox broadcast of Packers Lions as a, as emotionally
- 49:40Speaker 1: and aggressively as he did for that. It was a
- 49:42Speaker 1: horrendous roughing call on the Packers defender on Jared golf.
- 49:47Speaker 1: It was a perfect tackle. I mean, that's the kind
- 49:50Speaker 1: of stuff that you would teach the player. This is
- 49:52Speaker 1: how you tackle a quarterback. Don't land on them off
- 49:56Speaker 1: to the side. Didn't make helmet to helmet contact. It
- 49:59Speaker 1: was picture perfect. He gets called for a flag to
- 50:01Speaker 1: the Packers win the game. If that's not called, I
- 50:03Speaker 1: don't know. So it is what it is, but How
- 50:07Speaker 1: many times did Brady benefit from a call just like that?
- 50:10Speaker 1: And for him to be the one, I agree with him,
- 50:12Speaker 1: but for him to be the one that gets that
- 50:14Speaker 1: upset about it, I felt that was a little bit.
- 50:16Speaker 3: I was going to say, I do. I agree with
- 50:19Speaker 3: you about the fact that he, but like at the
- 50:21Speaker 3: same time, he got a lot of those calls, but
- 50:22Speaker 3: good for him for calling it out. You know, like
- 50:24Speaker 3: I get, like I said earlier, we've got to keep
- 50:26Speaker 3: the quarterbacks healthy to keep this entertaining. But at the
- 50:28Speaker 3: same time, like it's still tackle football at the end
- 50:32Speaker 3: of the day. If we wanted to watch flag football,
- 50:34Speaker 3: like there are plenty of leagues where that's an option now,
- 50:36Speaker 3: but it, There was one a couple of weeks ago
- 50:39Speaker 3: that we even talked about, too, that I can't remember.
- 50:41Speaker 2: I want to say it was also maybe a Lions game.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Was it a Lions game? I don't remember.
- 50:45Speaker 3: But yeah, it's been a consistent topic of conversation. And
- 50:48Speaker 3: that's the thing. When we're sitting here doing our shows
- 50:50Speaker 3: on Monday, I don't want to be talking about penalties
- 50:54Speaker 3: and roughing the passer and all of the diva stuff
- 50:57Speaker 3: that the refs are doing.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I want to be talking about the game.
- 50:59Speaker 3: I need as little involvement from you guys as possible, actually.
- 51:05Speaker 1: How easy would it be? It's like the ABS challenge
- 51:08Speaker 1: in baseball is a perfect example. Tap yourself on the head.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Look at the highlight for half a second and go, oh, nevermind.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Picking up the flag. How hard would that be?
- 51:19Speaker 3: I think it's going to come to a point where
- 51:22Speaker 3: it's going to be like challenging, but you're going to
- 51:24Speaker 3: be able to challenge like flags and stuff like that.
- 51:27Speaker 3: I think that that's where this is headed, to be honest.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Let's bring in the Oracle, Evan Abrams. Evan, welcome to
- 51:37Speaker 1: the show. I have a fun stat for you. Are you,
- 51:39Speaker 1: are you ready? You have your thing. Yeah, give it
- 51:41Speaker 1: to me. What do you got? QB Gami. Do you
- 51:45Speaker 1: follow this account on social media? I've seen it before.
- 51:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Great follow. So 64 yards, a touchdown, no interceptions. That
- 51:53Speaker 1: was Baker Mayfield stat line, not a QB Gami. This
- 51:56Speaker 1: is not a unique stat line. This has happened three
- 51:59Speaker 1: times before. Most recently, the great Dick Bartle. In 2011.
- 52:03Speaker 1: So there you go. There's your fun fact of the day.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Do with that what you will. How you doing, my friend?
- 52:09Speaker 4: I'm doing well. I love Rich Bartle. What a good guy.
- 52:12Speaker 4: I'm going to answer your fumble stats, though. The thing
- 52:15Speaker 4: you brought up before, I found it kind of interesting.
- 52:16Speaker 4: It was one way of looking at it. So there's
- 52:18Speaker 4: been 219 games so far this season where a player
- 52:22Speaker 4: had one fumble or more. So different ways to look
- 52:25Speaker 4: at the stat, obviously. I just think it feels like
- 52:27Speaker 4: it's a lot because it was only 196 last year.
- 52:30Speaker 4: but if you look further feels about right in history
- 52:33Speaker 4: but 196 last week at this point was like the
- 52:35Speaker 4: lowest we've ever seen so I think you might just
- 52:37Speaker 4: be remembering their little thumbers last season eventually.
- 52:40Speaker 1: This is why we go to the numbers the feeling
- 52:42Speaker 1: was not right in in this regard um how did
- 52:46Speaker 1: you fare on national tight ends.
- 52:47Speaker 4: Day uh you always pick the wrong tight ends but
- 52:51Speaker 4: craft was easy I liked craft so that one was
- 52:54Speaker 4: good um agreed with Kendra there uh one fun thing
- 52:57Speaker 4: about this coming week The Cleveland Browns can go over
- 53:00Speaker 4: their win total. So they will be the first team
- 53:04Speaker 4: to execute on that. And the Chargers can't go under
- 53:06Speaker 4: for like another week or two.
- 53:08Speaker 1: Nine and a half. They'd have to be like eight.
- 53:10Speaker 2: The Rams have to be getting close, right? They're 11
- 53:13Speaker 2: and a half. I have their under as well.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm doing a little bit of math. I think, yes, three.
- 53:17Speaker 4: But they've got a little bit of room. But yes,
- 53:20Speaker 4: the Browns. First team that can go over this week.
- 53:21Speaker 4: That would be a fun story. Some crazy trends that
- 53:25Speaker 4: just continue to roll on as we go through the NFL.
- 53:28Speaker 4: Six plus point favorites, 8, 21, and 3 against the spread.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Second worst start ATS in the Super Bowl era. And
- 53:36Speaker 4: 2024 was the worst. So recently, big favorites early season
- 53:40Speaker 4: have been absolutely atrocious.
- 53:42Speaker 1: This one was fun.
- 53:43Speaker 4: So teams who entered the year with the double digit
- 53:46Speaker 4: win total, basically teams we thought were great. versus teams
- 53:50Speaker 4: under that mark, they're now 14-27-3 against the spread. Worst
- 53:55Speaker 4: start ATS since 99. So it's been a long time since...
- 53:59Speaker 4: I don't want to say got it wrong because cover's
- 54:01Speaker 4: a bit different than win, but those teams are just
- 54:04Speaker 4: not coming through for betters.
- 54:06Speaker 1: And this is kind of my most... I would say
- 54:07Speaker 1: that if you are doing the... I'm just going to...
- 54:11Speaker 1: If you were fading the most popular survivor pick every
- 54:14Speaker 1: week and not just that team against the spread, but
- 54:17Speaker 1: taking them on the money line to your point, you
- 54:20Speaker 1: would be up a lot right now. Charge the Cardinals
- 54:24Speaker 1: at the beginning of the season zoom to this week,
- 54:27Speaker 1: the giants against the Texans. It's like, it feels like
- 54:30Speaker 1: every week the box against the Cowboys where we, we go, okay,
- 54:34Speaker 1: well that's, that's the locked up victory of the week.
- 54:37Speaker 1: It feels like most weeks that team is losing.
- 54:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, even when you look at those six-plus-point favorites,
- 54:43Speaker 4: 22-10 straight up. Ten losses, decent amount through seven weeks.
- 54:49Speaker 4: This is the one that's got me, though. The teams
- 54:51Speaker 4: with the rest advantage. So literally any team with the
- 54:53Speaker 4: rest advantage entering the game, one day or more, 23-8
- 54:57Speaker 4: straight up, 22-8-1 against the spread. Best-marked ATS since 94.
- 55:02Speaker 4: Crazy part is when that team with the rest advantage
- 55:04Speaker 4: is a favorite, they're 18-1 this year straight up. They
- 55:08Speaker 4: were 7-0 last week. And then of those 31 teams
- 55:13Speaker 4: that have had that rest advantage, 29-2 in a 6.2s.
- 55:18Speaker 4: So really just taking care of business, keeping games close,
- 55:22Speaker 4: doing the job at least early season. Obviously, a ton
- 55:24Speaker 4: of matches when we start getting into these weeks. So
- 55:27Speaker 4: this week, it looks like you have seven games or
- 55:30Speaker 4: one team's on a rest advantage. So this has to
- 55:32Speaker 4: come down to earth, but insane start.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Browns plus three and a half. They fit the mold.
- 55:38Speaker 1: Does that count as a rest advantage when you have
- 55:40Speaker 1: a team that's traveling from overseas? Absolutely.
- 55:44Speaker 4: This is only, when I say rest advantage, it's purely days.
- 55:46Speaker 4: So Browns don't even, it's literally days advantage.
- 55:50Speaker 1: Evan, great stuff as always. Good luck tonight. Appreciate it.
- 55:54Speaker 3: Thanks, guys.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Let's get into our Monday night football. Same game parlay
- 56:07Speaker 1: brought to you by draft Kings. I'll take the Eagles
- 56:10Speaker 1: plus four and a half. I don't know what you've
- 56:13Speaker 1: seen from the Cowboys that makes you think they can
- 56:15Speaker 1: cover four and a half on the road against a
- 56:17Speaker 1: good defense. I think the Eagles defense is good. The
- 56:20Speaker 1: offense is abysmal right now. They've managed 16 and 13
- 56:23Speaker 1: points in the last two weeks. Since last year, Dak
- 56:26Speaker 1: is three and 11 against the spread when listed as
- 56:30Speaker 1: a favorite in the regular season. I'll take Philadelphia.
- 56:34Speaker 3: I like it, especially because you know that they're going
- 56:36Speaker 3: to get up to play for Jalen tonight. I wanted
- 56:40Speaker 3: to be on Saquon props because I think that he's
- 56:42Speaker 3: the obvious answer here, but those just the numbers are
- 56:45Speaker 3: not where I want them to be because of all
- 56:47Speaker 3: the injuries and whatnot. So I'm going to say that
- 56:49Speaker 3: this is going to be somewhat of a breakout game
- 56:52Speaker 3: for Makai Lemon. I'm going to go over 37 and
- 56:55Speaker 3: a half receiving yards for him because other than the
- 56:58Speaker 3: tight ends, who.
- 56:59Speaker 2: The fuck else do they have to throw the football to?
- 57:00Speaker 2: Let's be honest.
- 57:02Speaker 1: They are definitely running out of bodies at this point.
- 57:06Speaker 1: I thought for sure you were going to hit me
- 57:07Speaker 1: with a kicking prop. You've been so hot with those.
- 57:10Speaker 3: Well, I did look at them, but none of them
- 57:13Speaker 3: really were where I wanted to be. I think the
- 57:15Speaker 3: punt total was sitting around 7.5. I think that the
- 57:18Speaker 3: kickers were sitting around 8.5 points each.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Way too high for my cheap blood. Couldn't go there.
- 57:23Speaker 1: Let's see. What's the weather in Philadelphia tonight? You've got
- 57:28Speaker 1: to factor the weather into your analysis, too.
- 57:30Speaker 2: I think it's got to be good tonight. It's good here.
- 57:32Speaker 2: That's not too far away from me.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Nine mile an hour. Wind gusts 65. That'll be fine. Okay.
- 57:38Speaker 1: So let's slam these together and see what comes out
- 57:40Speaker 1: on the other end. McKay 11, McKay lemon over 37
- 57:44Speaker 1: and a half receiving yards. I've got the Eagles plus
- 57:48Speaker 1: four and a half. So we're heavy on the Philly side.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Plus two 34 over on draft Kings. Go and bet
- 57:54Speaker 1: it now where the crown is yours. That is our
- 57:56Speaker 1: Monday night football. Same game parlay presented by draft Kings.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Don't forget to download the draft King sports app and
- 58:02Speaker 1: use the code favorites for a great offer. Feel good. Kendra.
- 58:07Speaker 3: I feel really good. I had a good week. I I'm,
- 58:10Speaker 3: I'm good to go. I kept my notes yesterday. Going
- 58:12Speaker 3: to go back and watch some games. I know that
- 58:13Speaker 3: this coming, you know, slate is going to be pretty tough,
- 58:16Speaker 3: but I'm feeling optimistic.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I do too. Weirdly. I had a bad week, but
- 58:22Speaker 1: I am not in a, sunken state of depression. And
- 58:26Speaker 1: I feel like that is growth.
- 58:27Speaker 2: That is growth. Good for you. And now you have Mal.
- 58:32Speaker 1: And what?
- 58:32Speaker 2: Now you have Mallory. She's, you know, she's on the vibe.
- 58:36Speaker 1: So yeah, my wife Mallory is betting now too. It
- 58:40Speaker 1: has just changed the game at the house. It's just,
- 58:43Speaker 1: it's been pure bliss. And every once in a while
- 58:46Speaker 1: she listens to me. She really likes to listen to
- 58:48Speaker 1: you more than me. And maybe this week that worked
- 58:50Speaker 1: out well. I think she made more money than I did.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Well, we're besties, so.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Well, we'll see what you cook up on Thursday. We'll
- 58:58Speaker 1: be back at it. Week eight preview in the NFL.
