- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, Papa Team six. This is another episode afore
- 0:03Speaker 1: the dads we're recording. It's Friday, October seventeenth. Huskers played
- 0:08Speaker 1: at night.
- 0:09Speaker 2: So you see your boy Willy see rock in the
- 0:10Speaker 2: Huskers gear.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hopefully by the time you hear my voice, we are
- 0:13Speaker 1: six in one right now, continuing to put out fires
- 0:15Speaker 1: with Matt Ruhle. Happy's October. I hope your trash is
- 0:18Speaker 1: taken out. You guys are just embracing the suck. We
- 0:21Speaker 1: got some good hats. We got some merchandise BWTV dot com.
- 0:24Speaker 1: That's where we can get all the PT six six,
- 0:26Speaker 1: Oh merch Come on.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Hand up? What lead from the front? Papa Team six? Here,
- 0:32Speaker 2: what happened?
- 0:33Speaker 1: I have failed to take out the trash two weeks
- 0:37Speaker 1: in a row.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Hey, hand up, you have a redemption arc. It is
- 0:43Speaker 3: trash Day on Fridays here at the office. And Derek
- 0:46Speaker 3: brought up a great point that we could take the
- 0:49Speaker 3: trash out today.
- 0:50Speaker 2: You and me, let's do it here to go all together.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Now the trash For those wondering the trash didn't still
- 0:56Speaker 1: sit at the house. Got it out, whether it's a
- 0:59Speaker 1: simple time stump sending away. Yeah, when I see people
- 1:02Speaker 1: and shout up Papa Team sixers out there that do
- 1:04Speaker 1: remind me it is trash, Yeah it is. But man,
- 1:07Speaker 1: I feel like just an absolute fraud when I think
- 1:10Speaker 1: of putting out the trash day tweet and I'm thinking
- 1:12Speaker 1: to myself, I didn't take out the fucking trash. We
- 1:17Speaker 1: enjoy having fun. We enjoy having some fun here. We
- 1:19Speaker 1: have for the dads. This is for dads. We talk wins, losses, ups, downs,
- 1:25Speaker 1: you know, our lives with our wives, the kiddos.
- 1:29Speaker 2: A lot of good stories.
- 1:30Speaker 1: We have a lot of fun comments that we read
- 1:32Speaker 1: that fans leave us at the PT sikos, the PT
- 1:35Speaker 1: sixers leave us on YouTube and social media continue to
- 1:39Speaker 1: do so. We love seeing all the engagement. It is
- 1:42Speaker 1: the utmost fun.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It is a lot of conversation starters, a.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Lot of conversation starters for this show. My wife was
- 1:50Speaker 1: on my ass the other day. I had to hit
- 1:51Speaker 1: up the group chat because we are If you are
- 1:53Speaker 1: listening on Spotify, Apple, all the podcast platforms we are
- 1:57Speaker 1: on YouTube, consider please and follow all of our channels.
- 2:02Speaker 1: You might think you are subscribed and you might not be.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Just double check for your boys. It's all we ask.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Everything is free.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Try trying to figure out how to get the Spotify
- 2:13Speaker 3: video because Spotify Video is partnering with Netflix and the
- 2:17Speaker 3: podcasts are about to be on Netflix. So we could
- 2:20Speaker 3: at the beginning of these episodes start saying, to make
- 2:22Speaker 3: sure you check us out on Netflix.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And make sure to check us out.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Could you imagine if we're on Netflix, I'll be crazy
- 2:29Speaker 1: And that's a big time.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Apparently it's a it's a thing.
- 2:32Speaker 3: It's going to become a thing, like it's a Spotify
- 2:35Speaker 3: video for podcasts. Are they are partnering with Netflix and
- 2:40Speaker 3: those are going to become available on Netflix O, which
- 2:45Speaker 3: is kind of crazy.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah, so make sure you check out Netflix. Make sure
- 2:49Speaker 2: you check out Netflix.
- 2:50Speaker 1: But yeah, my wife, she's a fan of listening to
- 2:53Speaker 1: us on Spotify. Yeah, she is somebody who likes to
- 2:57Speaker 1: scroll her podcasts and then also look at chapters. And
- 2:59Speaker 1: I want to say, the AI bullshit kind of was
- 3:02Speaker 1: messing up the algorithm or messing up something with us
- 3:05Speaker 1: last week to where we only had like five chapters
- 3:07Speaker 1: out there and then auto generated. So I'm assuming it
- 3:09Speaker 1: auto wrote out what the chapters were wasn't even close
- 3:14Speaker 1: to what's being talked about. She's thinking Oh, this could
- 3:16Speaker 1: be a fun topic to hear them talk about it. It's
- 3:17Speaker 1: just us, you know, like partning the microphone or.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Did I want to brag?
- 3:22Speaker 3: I want to give flowers to Derek, and we did
- 3:24Speaker 3: so in our PT six group message. But to all
- 3:29Speaker 3: the listeners, both video and audio. Last week on Spotify,
- 3:34Speaker 3: thirty minutes of our two hour and seventeen minute long
- 3:38Speaker 3: episode got uploaded and only thirty minutes. Only thirty minutes,
- 3:42Speaker 3: and we're sitting there and we're going, what in the world.
- 3:45Speaker 3: I text Derek at like seven thirty ish whatever. It was, Hey,
- 3:49Speaker 3: what's going on here? We had our back end team
- 3:52Speaker 3: showboat looking at everything. It was like something with the website.
- 3:57Speaker 3: They had never seen that happen before. Like the audio
- 4:00Speaker 3: file was totally normal that we uploaded.
- 4:03Speaker 2: PT six ers pissed that we actually kept it under
- 4:05Speaker 2: an hour.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I think the most comments we got, just to
- 4:08Speaker 4: bring it full circle war we actually don't want you
- 4:11Speaker 4: guys to keep it on.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Your hour, Like what the hell is this situation?
- 4:14Speaker 4: But I think they're going to make a case study,
- 4:16Speaker 4: no explanation, but shout out to everyone that's waited for
- 4:18Speaker 4: it and been excited for the show. It is fully updated.
- 4:21Speaker 4: People send us some dms this morning saying it wasn't.
- 4:24Speaker 4: If you click play on that episode, it will update
- 4:26Speaker 4: to the two hour or hit us up on social.
- 4:28Speaker 4: I've been sending the link out and that link has
- 4:30Speaker 4: been working so last episode.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Apologies. We're improving every day.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Derek owes no apology because of just how much on
- 4:38Speaker 3: the front lines. If you guys go through the YouTube
- 4:41Speaker 3: comments and the Spotify comments from last week's episode, Derek's
- 4:46Speaker 3: in there replying to.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Every single one that fires me up.
- 4:49Speaker 3: We're on it. Here's the link. This is how we
- 4:51Speaker 3: fix it. Make sure you refresh it. It actually does this.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I'm watching him in real time. I'm like, Derek is
- 4:57Speaker 3: so on it. So that fires me up. Shout out Derek,
- 5:00Speaker 3: Shout out Derek. Shout out the community too.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I like to think more benefit of the doubt, Like
- 5:05Speaker 1: everybody's optimistically trying to work together knowing that I know
- 5:08Speaker 1: there's more meat on them.
- 5:09Speaker 2: There's some mess ups here.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That was probably the system that's hurting our show right now,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and they're just wanting to let us know. Not in
- 5:16Speaker 1: like a hey, did you have any negative comments?
- 5:19Speaker 2: Not too many negative ones.
- 5:21Speaker 4: A lot of people were Hey, I don't know if
- 5:23Speaker 4: you guys saw or hey, just giving you an update.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I love that.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Really, the only negativity that came from it was people
- 5:28Speaker 4: excited for the episode of like, man, my commute this
- 5:31Speaker 4: morning sucked, and then after that got a.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Good Hey, you know how this mute sucked? Good podcast?
- 5:38Speaker 1: It only gave us thirty minutes of it even better good?
- 5:41Speaker 3: You know how all this got caught though, like how
- 5:44Speaker 3: I got put onto it. Our equipment manager, Legend Dalton
- 5:48Speaker 3: with throw with a little DM to old Shirve Dog.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I wake up and one of the first things that
- 5:54Speaker 3: I do is I see a DM from Dalton. I go,
- 5:56Speaker 3: oh more Arkansas gear. What's good you've had?
- 6:00Speaker 2: Hey? Sure?
- 6:01Speaker 3: Just want to let you know on Spotify and Apple
- 6:03Speaker 3: podcasts it's only thirty minutes, but it's a full length
- 6:06Speaker 3: on YouTube. Just wanted to make you aware of that.
- 6:08Speaker 2: What a stud. Stud.
- 6:10Speaker 3: That's teamwork, man, truly, that's teamwork makes the dream work
- 6:15Speaker 3: six came through your clutch.
- 6:16Speaker 1: We have a new sponsor. We have a new sponsor
- 6:19Speaker 1: for Papa Team six. Now, Derek said it right before
- 6:23Speaker 1: the show started. OLLI popa Team six. We got Ollipop
- 6:26Speaker 1: as a sponsor Prebiotics. Listen, I'm not gonna sit here
- 6:31Speaker 1: and read the words on the can.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I love I love ollipop. It's good. I'm a massive
- 6:39Speaker 2: ollipop fan. Grape is my favorite.
- 6:42Speaker 1: If you followed me, if you have followed me on
- 6:46Speaker 1: X like, I want to say, a couple months ago,
- 6:48Speaker 1: right when the season started.
- 6:49Speaker 2: You know how Papa Willie Papa Seal. I like to.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I've shouted out on this show.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Dads like to when they get out of the house,
- 6:56Speaker 1: they might do bedtime any whatever it might be, and
- 6:58Speaker 1: they want to take a trip to the guest. Okay,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I just want to take a drive, some quiet time,
- 7:03Speaker 1: solo dad time, maybe listen to some classic rock, maybe
- 7:06Speaker 1: finish up on a podcast. I'm just gonna get a
- 7:09Speaker 1: little quick fifteen minutes driving to the gas station driving home,
- 7:12Speaker 1: because my wife knows I enjoy a little gas station trip.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Now they've your wife.
- 7:17Speaker 1: They're just so much smarter than you, and they just
- 7:19Speaker 1: outthink you to where Now she just has my favorite
- 7:22Speaker 1: drinks at the house. So I can't leave now as
- 7:24Speaker 1: you can't leave. Hey, you said you like the hollypop
- 7:29Speaker 1: grade got a twelve packfo you sitting at the house
- 7:32Speaker 1: now you can't leave.
- 7:33Speaker 2: That's the most jill move I've ever heard. Oh my god, how.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Beg sweet on, I'm gonna hit the gas station. I'm
- 7:42Speaker 1: gonna going with the boys. I'm gonna go stairs.
- 7:43Speaker 2: That's bad.
- 7:44Speaker 1: That's some When we haven't played, we haven't played. We
- 7:46Speaker 1: haven't played for me in a while. But we caught
- 7:48Speaker 1: it dub the last time.
- 7:48Speaker 2: We did catch it dub the last time we played.
- 7:50Speaker 1: But that was always kind of the formula the nights
- 7:52Speaker 1: where it's like I'm gonna be upstairs, get in some
- 7:55Speaker 1: video game time with my boys, with my PT sixer himself,
- 7:58Speaker 1: Papa Shirm, and it was always that little gas station trip.
- 8:01Speaker 1: But I would put out on Twitter, like you know,
- 8:03Speaker 1: I did it a couple of times, like my favorite drinks,
- 8:05Speaker 1: and I was like one that is skyrocketing up the
- 8:08Speaker 1: charts that I didn't come across until I was just
- 8:10Speaker 1: bored one night. Let me try some lollipop, Great, buddy,
- 8:16Speaker 1: Ollipop great.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I just love the thought of Will in a gas station.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I'm one of those guys I know exactly what I'm
- 8:24Speaker 3: getting at a gas station. I just love the idea
- 8:26Speaker 3: of you in front of those glass doors.
- 8:28Speaker 2: She's staying in there.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Same guy at the cast Jugester, he already knows like
- 8:32Speaker 1: it's always good vibes when I walk in.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Good to see again, big dog now standing there, I'm like,
- 8:37Speaker 2: I'm gonna switch it up tonight.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Switch it just hey, just go wide stance.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Let me try that olli pop. What they say is
- 8:51Speaker 2: that lollipop puts it back now, No, I'll go back
- 8:58Speaker 2: with what I mean A fine.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I think it finally landed on the It landed on
- 9:04Speaker 3: grape too. I love that you landed on grape. Yeah,
- 9:07Speaker 3: what a flavor. Yeah, I want to try allipop grape.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Now another sleeper. No, this isn't it's not the vintage coal.
- 9:15Speaker 1: A vintage vintage coal is nice. Yeah, but the root beer. Ooh,
- 9:19Speaker 1: I haven't had the root beer.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I've had this SpongeBob Pineapple flavor and I've had the
- 9:25Speaker 3: vintage cola flavor.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Part of me I like both.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I haven't tried the the SpongeBob Pineapple Paradise yet.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Not a big pineapple guy.
- 9:34Speaker 1: As far as love me some pineapple love, just like
- 9:37Speaker 1: tasting pineapple, as far as like sodas and drinks, I
- 9:41Speaker 1: haven't big been a big pineapple guy. So I'm kind
- 9:44Speaker 1: of scared to try the SpongeBob one because the can
- 9:46Speaker 1: looks phenomenal, but I don't want to not like it,
- 9:50Speaker 1: and then it kind of turns me off of the
- 9:51Speaker 1: can in the in the you know, to display.
- 9:54Speaker 3: To be completely honest, the fact or the thing that
- 9:58Speaker 3: I like most about this pineapple flavor is it does
- 10:02Speaker 3: not taste like pineapple flavored soda. It's very juicy and
- 10:07Speaker 3: like kind of healthy tasting. And that is not a
- 10:09Speaker 3: plug to Ollipop. Like that's just my straight up. But look,
- 10:12Speaker 3: no free shoutouts. They are they are a sponsor. They
- 10:15Speaker 3: are they are a sponsor of the show. But I'm saying, like,
- 10:18Speaker 3: take that out of the equation. This this is nice. Okay, buddy,
- 10:24Speaker 3: Ollipop grape, I got it. We gotta get.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Hey, Ollipop, if you're listening, geta Are you they got
- 10:34Speaker 2: a cream soada?
- 10:37Speaker 3: Oh dude, okay, really quick because we gotta keep it.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Your grandpa had that cream soda at the house. Bro
- 10:44Speaker 2: get you one of them for a quarter. Jill.
- 10:47Speaker 3: How I got introduced to Ollipop is Jill would get
- 10:50Speaker 3: the cream soda flavor and then she would get heavy
- 10:53Speaker 3: cream and keep it in the fridge. And uh like
- 10:57Speaker 3: get it really cold, and she would put it in
- 11:00Speaker 3: the lollipop cream soda. She would just do like a
- 11:02Speaker 3: little dash of heavy cream and then whip it.
- 11:06Speaker 2: It's like a milkshake, dude, milkshake. You were honest one
- 11:11Speaker 2: with that. That to me, it's like your wife, Jill.
- 11:18Speaker 1: She knows what she likes, yeah, and she knows how
- 11:21Speaker 1: to combine things to get her taste buds firing on
- 11:25Speaker 1: all cylinds.
- 11:26Speaker 3: And she's not backing down. She's not backing down because
- 11:29Speaker 3: she's trying to. She's doing something.
- 11:30Speaker 1: About looking at that heavy cream and thinking this is
- 11:33Speaker 1: gonna go really well with this cream soda lollipop because.
- 11:37Speaker 3: She's trying to cut ice cream out of the equation,
- 11:40Speaker 3: and she's like, what is a sweet treat that also,
- 11:43Speaker 3: like I won't feel guilty about that. I can have
- 11:47Speaker 3: like around nighttime, et cetera. Just a little dash of that,
- 11:51Speaker 3: just something, Oh dude. I would take SIPs of it,
- 11:54Speaker 3: and it truly was like a little milkshake.
- 11:56Speaker 2: It was.
- 11:58Speaker 5: I feel like that's an old Southern trick. Am I
- 12:00Speaker 5: wronging on that? Or is this an invention? I feel
- 12:02Speaker 5: like I've heard that. Maybe I'm thinking of like a
- 12:03Speaker 5: root beer float. Oh maybe maybe Yeah, Oh dude.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That could be a Southern trigg. It sounds like a
- 12:12Speaker 1: Southern heavy cream. It sounds like that. Yeah, the South
- 12:17Speaker 1: that's got Texas.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Written all over.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, dude, it's good. It's good. So shout out Ollipop.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Or shout out Ollipop or new sponsor.
- 12:27Speaker 1: We spent a lot of time on big Ollipop fans,
- 12:29Speaker 1: but now they are a sponsor of the show. It
- 12:31Speaker 1: has to get your piss hot, gets you guy, the
- 12:34Speaker 1: gentleman that reached out to me about connecting with the
- 12:36Speaker 1: Ollipop and I was fired up, jumping off the screen
- 12:39Speaker 1: back and email for him.
- 12:40Speaker 2: He hits back, he's a Nebraska cat, that's right. Yeah.
- 12:44Speaker 1: He's like, hey, gb R, I'm fired up or working
- 12:46Speaker 1: something out here because I'm an Omaha boy.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And he said all that, say, so have you been here? Yeah? Yeah,
- 12:53Speaker 2: it's blue ship. Yeah, coach rule ain't going nowhere. It
- 12:56Speaker 2: ain't going nowhere. When do you call me? Shd we
- 13:00Speaker 2: get into comments. I'm ready. We have some comments broken down.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I know.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Last week Derek does an incredible job of handing us
- 13:06Speaker 1: to stack comments every week.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Last week I pretty much read all of them.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Forgetting that, Hey, I can select a few of these,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and you know, I don't know how everybody else feels
- 13:15Speaker 1: in the audience and the fans, how often we read
- 13:17Speaker 1: and how many of the fan comments and engagement. But
- 13:20Speaker 1: it's like you look at look at shirm, he's got
- 13:22Speaker 1: he's got a little fan over there. We gotta have
- 13:24Speaker 1: a bunch of comments. We've kind of broken some up.
- 13:26Speaker 1: So I have one to give you an example. We
- 13:28Speaker 1: got dad hack And then there are a couple of emails.
- 13:30Speaker 1: People are starting to send in a lot more to
- 13:31Speaker 1: the to the emails, what's the email they can write
- 13:34Speaker 1: to shrem.
- 13:35Speaker 3: At or sorry six oh onethdads at gmail dot.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Com, six O one the dads at gmail dot com.
- 13:42Speaker 1: We are now taking those emails, the ones that might
- 13:44Speaker 1: be longer, that have some storytelling, that have some questions
- 13:49Speaker 1: on a subject they might want us to hit, who
- 13:50Speaker 1: take their time to write us an email. We're going
- 13:53Speaker 1: to take those email ones and funnel it behind the
- 13:56Speaker 1: six to oh one. Dad's the hotline that people call
- 13:58Speaker 1: into for the voicemail, So we're going to save some
- 14:00Speaker 1: of the longer ones that we've read in the past.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Those will now be behind six to one the Dad's
- 14:04Speaker 1: the hotline that you can call into. Yeah, so more
- 14:06Speaker 1: before the Dad's hotline.
- 14:07Speaker 2: And email that we're gonna hit.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Have a little bit more fun with the top, with
- 14:12Speaker 1: the comments you guys write to us on social media
- 14:14Speaker 1: and YouTube, and then if you have like hacks wins
- 14:17Speaker 1: losses that we can share in some of those segments
- 14:19Speaker 1: that we might talk about. We're doing a better job
- 14:21Speaker 1: of tight end up the ship here here at the
- 14:23Speaker 1: four of the Dad's brand. But yeah, let's get to
- 14:26Speaker 1: let's have some fun. Let's answer some fan questions, some
- 14:28Speaker 1: comments that have been out there. The first one I
- 14:30Speaker 1: got is from Matt West ninety four to twenty one.
- 14:33Speaker 1: This is on YouTube. What's up Sherman Willie one shehelf.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I love the pot I've been watching since episode one.
- 14:37Speaker 1: I have a question for y'all. When did you guys
- 14:41Speaker 1: know your wife was the one? And did you guys
- 14:43Speaker 1: ask the parents first? Keep the grind going, hashtag semen out.
- 14:49Speaker 2: What great question.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Oh let me continue to say how good of a
- 14:55Speaker 1: question that was? So I can think about this answer.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I can't.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I can jump in really quick. I got a fun story. Okay,
- 15:03Speaker 1: you go ahead. This is how I met my wife's.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Story settle in kids.
- 15:10Speaker 1: So I want to say and listen, sweetheart. I know
- 15:12Speaker 1: you're listening right now. You probably gotta smile on your face,
- 15:14Speaker 1: being like, oh, what's a Willie one shelf gonna say?
- 15:18Speaker 2: Butterflies going crazy in your tummy.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but let me take you back to October against Sweetheart.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Bear with me. I could get some dates wrong here.
- 15:30Speaker 1: October twenty fourteen. Ooh, we were at Dallas. Maybe it
- 15:37Speaker 1: was November again, twenty fourteen. We were at Dallas primetime game.
- 15:41Speaker 1: My wife was a cheerleader on the Washington Redskins. When
- 15:48Speaker 1: there's an away game, that happens, a few cheerleaders get
- 15:51Speaker 1: to travel. Uh, they like send a few cheerleaders. They
- 15:55Speaker 1: get to travel, but they're not in uniform or nothing else.
- 15:57Speaker 1: They were in some yellow they were in some yellow cheer.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Oh that's sick.
- 16:01Speaker 3: And they're like in the friends and family section.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, they're like on the game. They're like on the
- 16:05Speaker 1: field pre game and stuff like that. As I'm giving
- 16:09Speaker 1: you context after the fact of knowing this. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:11Speaker 1: but I'm on the field pregame Willie at Dallas and
- 16:16Speaker 1: we're doing pregame warm ups and everything.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Else, and I see these three.
- 16:19Speaker 1: I see these three ladies standing on the sideline, and
- 16:22Speaker 1: you know, I'm gonna look in and you know, one
- 16:26Speaker 1: catches my eye. Oops, and I did not know, you know,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I got the helmet on. I see one looking at me,
- 16:34Speaker 1: and I don't know if she's actually looking at me
- 16:36Speaker 1: or not.
- 16:36Speaker 2: So I'm kind of looking, you know, I'm trying.
- 16:37Speaker 1: To like do whatever, pregame, warm up, everything else, get
- 16:40Speaker 1: ready for the Dallas Cowboys. And so I'm thinking, like
- 16:43Speaker 1: when I run byer to go back in the huddle,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna take a look, see and see.
- 16:46Speaker 2: If she's looking at me.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Sure enough, I run through the run back through the tunnel,
- 16:51Speaker 1: catcher staring at me, and it's just it's one of
- 16:53Speaker 1: the It's one of those moments as a young man
- 16:56Speaker 1: where you're just like and mind you, I did have
- 16:59Speaker 1: a girl friend at the time, but I'm you know what,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I'm married, I got two kids now with her. Sue me, yeah,
- 17:06Speaker 1: sue me. And it's like one of those times where
- 17:08Speaker 1: you're just thinking, like, man, that girl was a smoke show,
- 17:11Speaker 1: and it's like you fantasize, like what would life be
- 17:14Speaker 1: like with that individual. All the men know what I'm
- 17:18Speaker 1: talking about, and you just play this game in your head.
- 17:21Speaker 1: That's all that happened that night on Washington at Dallas
- 17:27Speaker 1: back in twenty fourteen. Fast forward the next year, it's
- 17:31Speaker 1: the off season. Alfred Morris is having a kid's charity
- 17:36Speaker 1: football camp for shout Out Alfred, Shout Out Alfred Morris
- 17:40Speaker 1: for like kids with special needs. And I'm running one
- 17:43Speaker 1: of these drills for him. I'm running one of the
- 17:45Speaker 1: periods for him. This cheerleader, who I still did not
- 17:50Speaker 1: know it at the time, was that one. U was
- 17:53Speaker 1: at the camp with her boyfriend. Oh really yeah, And
- 17:58Speaker 1: Chorro is with her boyfriend at the time, and they are.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Was he five to two five three hundre?
- 18:06Speaker 2: I kind of don't remember.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Charle had she had these these she had these shorts on,
- 18:11Speaker 1: she had the little high ponytail going on, she had
- 18:13Speaker 1: the cad the legs looking athletic, you know, I'm kind
- 18:16Speaker 1: of looking.
- 18:19Speaker 2: And they're they're part of my drill. Like as I'm
- 18:21Speaker 2: running this for this like four cone drill.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And so there's a pizza, there's a pizza lunch break,
- 18:26Speaker 1: and I see her and she's got this pro Bowl
- 18:29Speaker 1: hat on this again. That was this was the listen
- 18:32Speaker 1: your boy has zero game? And so I see her
- 18:35Speaker 1: during this peach of lunch break and she's kind of
- 18:37Speaker 1: walking kind of close by me, and I'm like, oh, uh,
- 18:40Speaker 1: I see you got a Pro Bowl hat on where'd
- 18:41Speaker 1: you get the Where'd you get the.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Pro Bowl hat?
- 18:43Speaker 1: And her smart ass like she is, she said, uh,
- 18:48Speaker 1: I got it at the Pro Bowl.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I was like, all right, yeah, did you like go
- 18:53Speaker 2: to the game?
- 18:55Speaker 1: And she goes, I was in the Pro Bowl, like
- 18:56Speaker 1: I'm a cheerleader for Washington.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I was like, oh sick.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I kind of don't remember the rest that honestly might
- 19:01Speaker 1: have been it because I just don't have a whole
- 19:03Speaker 1: lot of game. And I'm thinking her boyfriend's there, like
- 19:06Speaker 1: I'm kind of hungover.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Did you tell her you kind of got cheated out
- 19:09Speaker 2: of the Pro Bowl that one year? No?
- 19:11Speaker 1: No, I wasn't in that kind of.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Form around to the public or anything else. Yeah yeah, yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 1: But anyway, so I meet her at this at this
- 19:23Speaker 1: charity camp. I wake up the next morning to a
- 19:27Speaker 1: DM on Instagram and it's her DM and me like
- 19:32Speaker 1: saying like, hey, it was nice to meet you yesterday.
- 19:37Speaker 1: I see that you have a girlfriend. I have a boyfriend,
- 19:41Speaker 1: But that doesn't mean we still can't be friends.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Damn.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 1: So we start messaging back and forth, and man, I
- 19:52Speaker 1: wish I still had them. I don't, but I come
- 19:56Speaker 1: to the real we find the realization. I want to say,
- 19:59Speaker 1: she might have mentioned something thing about the Dallas game
- 20:00Speaker 1: of the year before, and I come to the fucking realization
- 20:03Speaker 1: that she was the girl I was looking at and
- 20:07Speaker 1: fantasizing about on the field.
- 20:12Speaker 3: And I love you know that he was in his
- 20:15Speaker 3: fields Because this guy is a sicko before he watches
- 20:19Speaker 3: a football game on TV. So I can only imagine
- 20:22Speaker 3: what your mind is like before a football game, how
- 20:26Speaker 3: black your heart has turned to prepare for this football game.
- 20:30Speaker 3: And then you see the smoke and you're like, yo, damn,
- 20:33Speaker 3: what would life kind.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Of be like if?
- 20:34Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 20:35Speaker 2: Bro?
- 20:35Speaker 1: And then even though she said that and that kind
- 20:37Speaker 1: of means one thing to a guy, when that's being
- 20:39Speaker 1: said to you in a DM, it's like, that doesn't
- 20:41Speaker 1: mean we still can't be friends. She never hung out
- 20:44Speaker 1: with me for like the next eight nine months.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Like I'm trying.
- 20:47Speaker 1: We're having we're having conversations, she's making me last she's
- 20:50Speaker 1: one of the she was one of those girls where
- 20:52Speaker 1: I would, uh, I'm like sitting in the parking lot
- 20:55Speaker 1: before I go into my apartment. I'm like spending forty
- 20:57Speaker 1: five extra minutes just sitting out there, messaging back and
- 21:00Speaker 1: forth or not wanting.
- 21:01Speaker 2: To go inside.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because I'm enjoying the conversation we're having, Like
- 21:04Speaker 1: we're sending each other songs, like jokes, like all the
- 21:07Speaker 1: different things. We eventually see each other, We eventually hang out,
- 21:11Speaker 1: we eventually start dating.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Now we're married with two kids. Let's go.
- 21:15Speaker 1: And I say all that to know, it's hard for
- 21:17Speaker 1: me to like pinpoint a moment where I'm like, this
- 21:19Speaker 1: is my wife, because I will tell you, I feel
- 21:23Speaker 1: like that thought continues to ascend, like as high seer
- 21:29Speaker 1: as my wife and a mom. Yes, Like the love
- 21:32Speaker 1: gets that much stronger when you witness them being a mom,
- 21:35Speaker 1: when you witness them being like your partner. Like there's
- 21:37Speaker 1: so many times where I'll just be driving home thinking
- 21:39Speaker 1: like whenever we solve a problem, or she has my
- 21:42Speaker 1: back with something, or one of us is stressed and
- 21:44Speaker 1: we're helping each other out, to where when I do
- 21:47Speaker 1: reflect and have that gratitude. I'm thinking it gets so
- 21:50Speaker 1: much more badass when you are married and you have
- 21:53Speaker 1: kids and you are being partners and you're being good
- 21:54Speaker 1: partners and you both care about each other so much,
- 21:57Speaker 1: so much like the way Charles thinks about everything in
- 22:01Speaker 1: my world, and she's just a badass. Like it's a
- 22:07Speaker 1: love like she There's nobody else who's loved me the
- 22:10Speaker 1: way Charles has loved me. That's opened me up to
- 22:13Speaker 1: like more love and more ideas and everything else. Like
- 22:15Speaker 1: I'm a homebody. I hate vacations. And if I think
- 22:20Speaker 1: of a core value of Charro, it is adventurous. She
- 22:24Speaker 1: loves again. We'll get to it. She's going to London
- 22:26Speaker 1: all next week. It's sad she's taken room with her.
- 22:30Speaker 2: So it's just gonna be me with.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Scottie, the easiest kid. We're gonna have a lot of
- 22:35Speaker 1: free time. Okay, but she's going to London next week.
- 22:38Speaker 1: She was wanting to go in the summertime. We couldn't
- 22:40Speaker 1: make it happen. We're going to a Dermot Kennedy concert
- 22:43Speaker 1: here on Sunday. Like she loves doing stuff that She's
- 22:46Speaker 1: really pulled me out of my comfort zone. She's like
- 22:49Speaker 1: introduced me to things that I didn't think that I
- 22:51Speaker 1: would be doing, like as an adult. She's a very ambitious,
- 22:55Speaker 1: like working, career oriented woman. So I didn't think that
- 22:58Speaker 1: I would marry, you know, doing all the things that
- 23:01Speaker 1: I was doing. I thought I would have more of
- 23:04Speaker 1: like a stay at home mom, stay at hoole wife.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I'm not saying that's good, bad and different. I'm just thinking,
- 23:08Speaker 1: like how I grew up thinking about everything. Yes, she's
- 23:11Speaker 1: very different than what I had imagined. And so I
- 23:14Speaker 1: can't pinpoint an exact moment because we had a lot
- 23:17Speaker 1: of fun when we were younger.
- 23:18Speaker 2: And that is a moment that sticks out.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It's like, Yo, that was the chick that I was
- 23:23Speaker 1: so just laser, you know what?
- 23:27Speaker 2: You know what.
- 23:27Speaker 1: We was talking with the pep Riley last year and
- 23:32Speaker 1: I was like, Yo, this this woman is stunning. And
- 23:35Speaker 1: it turns out the way the universe worked to bring
- 23:37Speaker 1: her back around for that day at that charity camp
- 23:41Speaker 1: and then to have the DM and then to find
- 23:44Speaker 1: out that she that that was the girl.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Oh. The only thing selfishly that I wish is that
- 23:50Speaker 3: you had dead one of those hey body, think fast
- 23:53Speaker 3: and just throw a football at her. Boyfriend that she
- 23:56Speaker 3: was there at the camp with. He just boom off
- 23:59Speaker 3: of his face. All right, right here, buddy, Yeah, you gotta.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Use your hands and then just stats one out of
- 24:05Speaker 1: the are one handed?
- 24:07Speaker 4: Well, if I can ask as a guy that just
- 24:09Speaker 4: genuinely doesn't know, is there no relationship between players and cheerleaders?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Like how you went there was nout.
- 24:15Speaker 1: A big reason she wouldn't like hang out with me
- 24:18Speaker 1: is because she was still still on the cheerleading team,
- 24:20Speaker 1: and that was like a massive no.
- 24:21Speaker 2: No for cheerleaders and players. It's kind of a.
- 24:25Speaker 1: What do they call it? It's like an unwritten rule,
- 24:28Speaker 1: but it's very it's like a double standard. Like the
- 24:31Speaker 1: cheerleaders were it was like hard press. They couldn't talk
- 24:33Speaker 1: to full players before. We're never told the like hey
- 24:36Speaker 1: you can't do anything with cheerleaders or you can't date cheerleaders.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Or anything like that.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, So that was the reason why, like the first
- 24:42Speaker 1: time we did hang out is very sneaky, It was
- 24:45Speaker 1: very under under the wraps. She was very like weary
- 24:49Speaker 1: because she she was like a captain of the cheerleading
- 24:51Speaker 1: squad and she took it. She she was that was
- 24:53Speaker 1: when she was a tax accountant for was it PBC
- 24:55Speaker 1: or p and C, p and C one of the
- 24:58Speaker 1: big ones.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Yeah, she was also a cheerleader, so yeah she was.
- 25:03Speaker 3: She was crushing it. Yeah she was a captain as well.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, man, that really I love that. Yeah a captain,
- 25:12Speaker 3: Willie c hang out with the cheer captain?
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, let's go.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I think of so many things in my head just
- 25:22Speaker 1: trying to answer my man's question too.
- 25:23Speaker 2: It's hard to like knowing.
- 25:25Speaker 1: It was more of like she just would make me
- 25:28Speaker 1: uncomfortable in a way to where I would just always
- 25:30Speaker 1: have a different perspective about how life was going towards
- 25:34Speaker 1: like I'm adjusting on the fly in the discomfort, and
- 25:38Speaker 1: to me, that's when I kind of identify, like this
- 25:41Speaker 1: is the one I want to be with forever.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I love your description of how she made you feel
- 25:46Speaker 3: because that you're quite literally describing exactly how Jill.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Made me feel.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Uh, And I don't say that just agree with you
- 25:55Speaker 3: is the exact same thing. Like I had never encountered
- 25:58Speaker 3: a relate, I had never had a relationship where I
- 26:02Speaker 3: was being challenged but in a good way.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, like you will said, yes.
- 26:06Speaker 3: It didn't feel like she was ever coming down on
- 26:09Speaker 3: me or anything like that. But it was like, a, wait,
- 26:11Speaker 3: you don't it's a Saturday. You don't want to go
- 26:13Speaker 3: on a hike? And then we can, you know, do
- 26:16Speaker 3: this and there's this art exhibit that I really want
- 26:19Speaker 3: to go check out.
- 26:19Speaker 2: I'm but I don't.
- 26:20Speaker 3: I don't want to do that shit. And then I'm
- 26:22Speaker 3: doing that shit and I'm like, man, there's a lot
- 26:25Speaker 3: of fun. I want to keep on doing this, and
- 26:26Speaker 3: you're talking about it.
- 26:27Speaker 2: You're talking about the hikes too, like charl wanted to
- 26:29Speaker 2: do hikes.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I'm just thinking, like, bro, my legs, Like I'm just
- 26:32Speaker 1: I play football, Like I don't want to do extra
- 26:35Speaker 1: any extra exercise in what I already have to do. Yeah,
- 26:38Speaker 1: but you're right, like the whole challenging thing is what
- 26:41Speaker 1: it was like a slow process and then you just
- 26:44Speaker 1: realize how good it is for you and how happy
- 26:46Speaker 1: they make you to where that's when it's kind of
- 26:49Speaker 1: like that's the formulated moment.
- 26:51Speaker 3: I guess, yeah, I uh with Jill to answer this question,
- 26:57Speaker 3: Jill and I met on a blind date. Kirk Cousin
- 27:00Speaker 3: was dating my roommate.
- 27:02Speaker 2: They would both.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Tell you this their relationship was coming to it and
- 27:06Speaker 3: very fast, and her cousin had tried to set us
- 27:10Speaker 3: up multiple times, and she was like, sherman, I'm about
- 27:13Speaker 3: to break up with your roommates, so if you want
- 27:15Speaker 3: to meet my cousin, like, we need to make this
- 27:16Speaker 3: happen asap. And I was trying to play cool, like
- 27:20Speaker 3: I had seen pictures of Jill on Instagram that her
- 27:23Speaker 3: cousin had shown me. I was like, oh, yeah, she's cute, Like, yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 3: we should do something, and then by me, I was like, yeah, no,
- 27:30Speaker 3: we need to do that double date. Yeah, buddy, And
- 27:33Speaker 3: I ran out of contacts that week and I showed
- 27:37Speaker 3: up to Wabbi House in Fort Worth shout out, no
- 27:39Speaker 3: free shout out, and I saw Jilly Bean across the
- 27:42Speaker 3: room and I said, fuck, I look like an idiot
- 27:46Speaker 3: my glasses And I took my glasses off instantly and
- 27:48Speaker 3: I put them on the back of my shirt because
- 27:51Speaker 3: I was like, this girl's way cuter that then even
- 27:53Speaker 3: her pictures lost my glasses. That night off to a
- 28:00Speaker 3: hot start. But on that night I had never kissed
- 28:04Speaker 3: a girl on a first date. And we kissed on
- 28:08Speaker 3: a first date, and the conversation it was kind of funny,
- 28:10Speaker 3: that like it was a blind slash double date, and
- 28:15Speaker 3: her cousin and my roommate were just like chomping at
- 28:18Speaker 3: the bit to break up with each other like that
- 28:21Speaker 3: whole week and they're like arguing on their side of
- 28:24Speaker 3: the booth. And it made Jill and I lock in
- 28:27Speaker 3: like that much more and we had a great first date.
- 28:32Speaker 3: But I do remember telling my mom after the first day,
- 28:34Speaker 3: I said, I think I might be in trouble. I'm like,
- 28:37Speaker 3: I'm feeling it with this girl. But the moment that
- 28:40Speaker 3: I knew like, okay, I want Jill to be my
- 28:42Speaker 3: girlfriend or I guess, like yo, like this might be
- 28:47Speaker 3: something more was we went to a Rangers game together
- 28:51Speaker 3: and the very first thing that she wanted to do
- 28:53Speaker 3: is she wanted to go get a hot dog and beer.
- 28:56Speaker 3: And when we were ordering, she goes, is he is
- 29:00Speaker 3: it bad? Or like, is it okay if I get
- 29:02Speaker 3: too hot dogs instead of just one hot dog? And
- 29:04Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, you can definitely get too hot dogs,
- 29:07Speaker 3: and she so fast turned and goes, I'll do a
- 29:10Speaker 3: mickelbe and two hot dogs to the person. And just
- 29:14Speaker 3: seeing her with like the little ketchup and mustard and
- 29:17Speaker 3: the hot dogs and like the beer and just her
- 29:20Speaker 3: not worried about like I need to look cute on
- 29:22Speaker 3: this date, but more so just enjoying the moment and
- 29:26Speaker 3: like what I love about baseball games is hot dogs
- 29:28Speaker 3: and beer, and I'm getting to enjoy this. I just
- 29:33Speaker 3: love that quality about her. I was like, she's so
- 29:36Speaker 3: unabashedly herself and that I just opened up to her.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I had a I was coming out two different relationships
- 29:44Speaker 3: that in college were like on and off, on and
- 29:47Speaker 3: off type stuff that I never felt confident in, if
- 29:52Speaker 3: that makes sense, Like you kind of left those relationships
- 29:55Speaker 3: going like who am I as a boyfriend?
- 29:58Speaker 7: Like?
- 29:58Speaker 2: Am I a good boyfriend? Do I have no clue?
- 30:01Speaker 1: Like these women like really like taming these men is
- 30:04Speaker 1: like taming a wild horse. Yeah, it's like taming a
- 30:07Speaker 1: wild horse.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Bro.
- 30:08Speaker 3: And then Jill kind of showing me like, hey you yeah,
- 30:12Speaker 3: you definitely suck, like like truly, like, hey yeah, you
- 30:17Speaker 3: definitely suck in these areas.
- 30:18Speaker 1: But like and it's man, you don't know it no,
- 30:21Speaker 1: Like I remember when I didn't get Charles something on
- 30:24Speaker 1: like Valentine's Day because it wasn't like maybe it was
- 30:26Speaker 1: more of like the defining the relationship style thing, and
- 30:30Speaker 1: I just remember her having some like thoughts about it.
- 30:33Speaker 1: And that's when you know, too is a guy. Like
- 30:36Speaker 1: when your girlfriend is upset over something and it bothers you,
- 30:40Speaker 1: even though you might be upset with them in that moment,
- 30:42Speaker 1: but when you walk away and you're actually kind of
- 30:44Speaker 1: like I should have done X, Y and Z versus,
- 30:47Speaker 1: Like when you know that there's no future with the girl,
- 30:49Speaker 1: you're almost just staying mad about you, Like, God, this
- 30:51Speaker 1: is fucking I'm gonna have to deal with this.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you find yourself kind of beating yourself up about it,
- 30:57Speaker 1: like all right, I got do. I do have to
- 30:59Speaker 1: kind of figure out a way to come around to
- 31:02Speaker 1: whatever said thing is. Like the first time I went
- 31:04Speaker 1: out and stayed with uh, like, stayed overnight with Charo,
- 31:08Speaker 1: super nervous, like awkward, and you know how it is too,
- 31:11Speaker 1: Like when you like, when you stay with a girl
- 31:14Speaker 1: or you do, like they stay over at your place
- 31:16Speaker 1: or something like that, and you kind of wake up
- 31:17Speaker 1: the next morning you're kind of like, I need to get.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Out of here.
- 31:19Speaker 1: They kind of need to get out of here. But
- 31:21Speaker 1: I was going out to spend the weekend or a
- 31:24Speaker 1: day with her in DC, like around her friends. And
- 31:27Speaker 1: I remember when I first went over to her house
- 31:29Speaker 1: and again your boy, no games, super nervous.
- 31:31Speaker 2: We're in the kitchen like making up a game. She like,
- 31:34Speaker 2: we like made it go ahead pre post veneers. No,
- 31:37Speaker 2: this is pre veneers.
- 31:38Speaker 1: I didn't give veneers until I was until I was
- 31:41Speaker 1: in Tennessee in twenty and eighteen, so I had the
- 31:44Speaker 1: this is the this is the old Willie chicklets thick neck,
- 31:47Speaker 1: come on, small teeth, looking like a zone dog through
- 31:51Speaker 1: my mouth that Charles got to know.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Twenty sixteen tenth toppest player in the NFL.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Sir, my smile, Yeah, don't show them teeth, alright, show
- 32:00Speaker 1: oh shit. But we like made up some game in
- 32:04Speaker 1: the kitchen and we're like throwing bottle caps, like basically
- 32:06Speaker 1: playing washers, but with like grocery bags and a bottle cap,
- 32:09Speaker 1: like having a good time.
- 32:10Speaker 2: We go out that night, have a lot of fun
- 32:11Speaker 2: with her friends. She gets me dancing.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I'm not a big dancing guy or PDA guy, but
- 32:15Speaker 1: I'm sitting there, I'm belly rolling, I'm fucking you know.
- 32:18Speaker 2: It's kind of.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I was liquored up pretty good. Then you come back
- 32:23Speaker 1: home and read like I was like housing some oreos
- 32:27Speaker 1: late at night, kind of wake up the next morning,
- 32:29Speaker 1: she had to like go she had to go do
- 32:31Speaker 1: something for bar three. She was managing a studio out
- 32:33Speaker 1: there at the time in DC. And then that's where
- 32:35Speaker 1: I kind of slipping up. When she leaves and walks
- 32:37Speaker 1: that door, I'm kind of like leaning out of the bed,
- 32:40Speaker 1: kind of like wait a minute, and then I go
- 32:42Speaker 1: hit the bathroom.
- 32:42Speaker 2: And just drop a monster, you know what I mean,
- 32:45Speaker 2: Because you're nervous.
- 32:46Speaker 1: You're like, oh, I gotta fucking do something here, but
- 32:48Speaker 1: I can't do it in this apartment right now, which
- 32:50Speaker 1: her I gotta wait till she leaves. But it wasn't
- 32:52Speaker 1: awkward the next morning, like the next day, any of
- 32:56Speaker 1: that stuff to where she came back, We're watching Dead
- 32:58Speaker 1: pull together on the couch ordering Chinese food. So you
- 33:02Speaker 1: kind of know that something's there, like when you're talking
- 33:04Speaker 1: to the parents about it, when you're talking to your
- 33:05Speaker 1: boys about and everything else. But it gets even better,
- 33:09Speaker 1: in my opinion, like when you do get married and
- 33:11Speaker 1: you have kids and you're in you're in an actual partnership,
- 33:14Speaker 1: worrying about everything else. And don't get me wrong, I
- 33:17Speaker 1: still get fucking annoyed when I am getting challenged at
- 33:19Speaker 1: certain times or getting uncomfortable to do things to where
- 33:22Speaker 1: I'm just like.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Sweetheart, come on, we can't just kick it at the house. Yes, Like,
- 33:26Speaker 2: well you want, you go? You go?
- 33:27Speaker 1: Do you guys go have a great time. I hope
- 33:29Speaker 1: you have the greatest time in the world. I kind
- 33:30Speaker 1: of want to just stay home. The huskers are on
- 33:35Speaker 1: about us, are on. We spent a lot of time
- 33:37Speaker 1: on this, And yes, I did ask her.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I asked her. I called her dad and asked him
- 33:40Speaker 2: first before I propose.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Yes, And I took her mod She has a stepdad,
- 33:47Speaker 3: but I took her mom and her stepdad to dinner,
- 33:50Speaker 3: and I asked her permission. Uncle Julia's and.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Fort we love Uncle Julio's bro that table side, guawk
- 33:57Speaker 1: so in the Pineapple and an Albania's.
- 34:00Speaker 3: I got it. I got a whole thing. Keep the
- 34:01Speaker 3: show under an hour. But they're not doing the Yellow
- 34:03Speaker 3: Caso anymore at the Nashville location here, and it's just
- 34:06Speaker 3: a whole thing. Heart's broken, honestly, Like I've been wanting
- 34:10Speaker 3: to tweet about it a lot. I love Uncle Julio's
- 34:13Speaker 3: too much. I've cut my mouth shut. No more caso,
- 34:16Speaker 3: no more yellow caso. They're only doing caso blanco and
- 34:19Speaker 3: no offense at caso blanco. But the yellow caso Uncle
- 34:22Speaker 3: Julio's is what put you on the map. Sorry you
- 34:25Speaker 3: go ahead, Cody Priest.
- 34:28Speaker 2: This is on Instagram.

- 35:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's in there like damn it, willy See.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he probably heard this episode. He's like the urgency
- 35:29Speaker 3: he felt. Can't let the bet Sikos down. I've been
- 35:32Speaker 3: listening to this podcast week for the last three months,
- 35:35Speaker 3: down not realizing that Willy See is a fake trash
- 35:38Speaker 3: day guy.
- 35:39Speaker 2: This will be the last episode I will listened to.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Can't hang a shelf, can't take out the trash? What
- 35:46Speaker 2: do you fucking do? Willy one show? I saw a.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Great comment of Willie one shelf. I saw one that
- 35:54Speaker 3: said Willie no Fox. I kind of like that. We'll
- 35:59Speaker 3: alster that one. Well, that's a good one. That's a
- 36:02Speaker 3: good clue.
- 36:03Speaker 1: This one's from Brandon Davis one nineteen on YouTube. What
- 36:07Speaker 1: up et six brothers got a five and three year
- 36:09Speaker 1: old currently going through the food regression stage. They both
- 36:12Speaker 1: love popsicles, Gonna try and gonna try the tickle monster
- 36:15Speaker 1: and see how that goes. They don't want to eat good.
- 36:18Speaker 1: That means Dad gets to bring out the tickle monster.
- 36:21Speaker 1: It's tough man. Five and three rules three. Right now,
- 36:24Speaker 1: I do feel like we have the dinner time routine
- 36:28Speaker 1: kind of down. Yeah, she starts to get a little
- 36:30Speaker 1: sassy about I don't want to eat this. I don't
- 36:32Speaker 1: want to eat that. Great, you don't have to That's
- 36:34Speaker 1: the great thing about this, sweetheart. You can make your
- 36:36Speaker 1: own decision. You don't want to eat, that's fine, Mom
- 36:38Speaker 1: and dad is gonna finish up here. But when we
- 36:40Speaker 1: get done eating, we're just gonna go straight up to
- 36:42Speaker 1: bed because it seems like you're tired, and you know,
- 36:44Speaker 1: if you don't eat, you're not gonna get all the
- 36:47Speaker 1: things that you're thinking about.
- 36:48Speaker 2: In your head. Yep. I won't even say that at first.
- 36:50Speaker 2: I should be like, great, you don't have to eat.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Then I'll just you'll just hear the play going. Mom
- 36:54Speaker 1: and I eating, and she'll be like, I get a cookie.
- 36:57Speaker 1: You know the game, and the cookie in this world
- 37:00Speaker 1: can be the popsicle. Hey, you know the game. You're
- 37:03Speaker 1: not gonna get a cookie. You're not gonna get a popsicle.
- 37:07Speaker 1: We've done this now, day in and day out. She's like,
- 37:10Speaker 1: but I'm tired. Hey, that's awesome, you don't have to eat. Well, wait,
- 37:16Speaker 1: for me to get done, and we'll go upstairs right
- 37:18Speaker 1: after this and we'll go to bed. Do you want
- 37:20Speaker 1: to go to bed now?
- 37:21Speaker 5: No?
- 37:22Speaker 2: All right, I figure it out.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Quit asking, Quit asking your volume of eating, by the way,
- 37:29Speaker 3: I enjoy it, like you make some noise when you eat,
- 37:33Speaker 3: especially when you're hungry. And bro I am just laughing,
- 37:37Speaker 3: just hearing that fork and the plate and your bites
- 37:40Speaker 3: and stuff.
- 37:40Speaker 1: And she's thinking about what else she can do, because
- 37:47Speaker 1: we might make like Scotty might be doing like you know,
- 37:49Speaker 1: she might be doing a thing where we're laughing.
- 37:51Speaker 2: We think it's cute and adorable.
- 37:52Speaker 1: And then Ruth tries to play with Scotty, And in
- 37:54Speaker 1: my brain, I'm thinking she's just playing with Scotty right
- 37:56Speaker 1: now to put off the fact that she doesn't.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Have to eat her food. Uh huh.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Then Mom and I are both done. Scott, he's done.
- 38:02Speaker 1: She's starting to you know, hit the dang knock food off.
- 38:06Speaker 1: You get me sweet potatoes all Scotty, we can't get out.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Ru's got to eat her chicken. Really, gotta eat your chicken.
- 38:14Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 38:14Speaker 3: Okay, Well, let's get up, let's go, let's go to bed.
- 38:16Speaker 3: I don't want to go to bed, eat your chicken.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Dad that doesn't love me.
- 38:22Speaker 3: I guess I got one from Cody Wilkerson on TikTok Boys.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I'm in the middle of chaos. My wife and I
- 38:30Speaker 3: are both middle school teachers in Alabama. She's at a
- 38:33Speaker 3: conference for until Saturday. I'm holding down the fort with
- 38:37Speaker 3: my two boys, ages two and four, until then. While
- 38:40Speaker 3: I was at work today, got the call from the
- 38:41Speaker 3: daycare that the youngest has handfoot mouth. I'm just gonna
- 38:46Speaker 3: say that I'm supposed to count to the oldest in
- 38:48Speaker 3: his soccer game tomorrow night.
- 38:50Speaker 2: My wife.
- 38:50Speaker 3: My wife called and asked, Hey, how's everything going, And
- 38:53Speaker 3: I hit her with a.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Good handfoot mouth. We just got over both. We just
- 38:58Speaker 1: got over there with both the kiddos.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Yeah, best of Cody, best of luck to you, dude.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Just keep on washing those hands, dude.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yeah, keep washing the hands. Keep being sad when you
- 39:06Speaker 1: just see the bumps that they get. It's just the
- 39:09Speaker 1: saddest thing in the world.
- 39:11Speaker 2: And they can't eat right, like it hurts their mouths right. Fortunately, Yeah,
- 39:15Speaker 2: that's how it was with Scotty.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Fortunately for Rue, like it was more of just she
- 39:19Speaker 1: had like the the bumps, the rash stuff like on
- 39:22Speaker 1: her feet and hands and and her butt that bothered her.
- 39:25Speaker 1: The stuff on the butt bothered It was in the crease.
- 39:28Speaker 1: It was in the crease right below her cheek to
- 39:30Speaker 1: where like bothered her the bathroom and that stuck because
- 39:33Speaker 1: she was like sad because it was painful for ya.
- 39:35Speaker 1: But she didn't have a fever, she didn't have the
- 39:36Speaker 1: sowords in the mouth. She wasn't getting like those symptoms
- 39:39Speaker 1: to where it was it was like you felt like
- 39:42Speaker 1: you had to keep her from doing everything, yeah, because
- 39:44Speaker 1: she was like actually sick, Scottie was she had the
- 39:48Speaker 1: sores in the mouth, wouldn't really drink her milk. She
- 39:50Speaker 1: had to drink like cold milk if she was going
- 39:53Speaker 1: to have her milk, which kids hate. I found that
- 39:56Speaker 1: out the hard way when Jill was out of town.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Cold milk.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Yeah, just let the milk sit there for too long,
- 40:03Speaker 3: and Scarlet's crying and crying as soon as like she
- 40:07Speaker 3: takes like two pools from it. She just I'm like,
- 40:11Speaker 3: this is your favorite thing in the world. I know
- 40:13Speaker 3: you're starving, Like why are you screaming? And then it
- 40:16Speaker 3: finally clicked after like the eighth time. Yeah, heated that
- 40:20Speaker 3: bottle up and after I and she's screaming the whole
- 40:23Speaker 3: time that I'm eating the bottle up. She's just sitting
- 40:25Speaker 3: there in my ear and I'm like, I know, I
- 40:27Speaker 3: know as soon as I got that hot bottle end.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what, you hit a good one.
- 40:33Speaker 1: Like I want to say, Rue.
- 40:36Speaker 2: It needed to be it needed to be hot.
- 40:39Speaker 1: And I want to say Scottie at times will take
- 40:41Speaker 1: it when it's cool down like some of them kids
- 40:44Speaker 1: are just sick os, bro. They don't care how they
- 40:47Speaker 1: just want it.
- 40:48Speaker 2: And we've done cold milk. I've told me one.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Easy. We've done cold milk before, like at the park.
- 40:57Speaker 3: We took Scarlet to the park and we forgot are
- 41:01Speaker 3: the heat the portable heater? Yeah, and so we just
- 41:03Speaker 3: did it straight from a you know, distilled water bottle
- 41:06Speaker 3: or whatever, and she yugged it.
- 41:09Speaker 2: She had no problem, which is a massive win. Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I'm good on my comments.
- 41:15Speaker 3: You're good on your comments. I have one more boys, PT.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Sixer and Tier one.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Sticko, father of.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Three boys twelve thirteen months in seven months, also flag
- 41:30Speaker 3: football coach of the Red Wolves for the past few years.
- 41:33Speaker 3: Love it had to share a juiced up moment. We're
- 41:36Speaker 3: up twelve to six. Nearing the end of the game,
- 41:39Speaker 3: they go for one watch a kid moss my boy
- 41:42Speaker 3: and they take a one point lead with little time left.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Defense holds and with proper clock management, we got one
- 41:50Speaker 3: more shot. First play, small game, second small game. Now
- 41:56Speaker 3: was seconds left and only one play to go to
- 41:59Speaker 3: the house for the win. Can't stop watching the clip
- 42:03Speaker 3: and I'm so amped for the rest of the season.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Let's go big win at the end of the game.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Watching your boy get lost. It's tough for the pop. Yeah,
- 42:16Speaker 1: tough for the pop. Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Oh I do that is tough for the pop. Yeah.
- 42:23Speaker 3: I don't know how I would handle that as far
- 42:26Speaker 3: as with Scarlett, and I've talked with Jill about that.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Of like sporting events, I kind of understand now why
- 42:33Speaker 3: sometimes my dad would like watch my sporting events from
- 42:36Speaker 3: the car. I think it was nerves for him and
- 42:41Speaker 3: to me, I always thought, why is my dad not
- 42:43Speaker 3: in the stands for these track meets, Like he goes
- 42:46Speaker 3: and he gets in the car, and like I wish
- 42:48Speaker 3: he was in the stands, And now me as a parent,
- 42:51Speaker 3: I'm like imagining myself watching Scarlet and I'm.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Like, I get why Dad was in the car. He nervous,
- 42:57Speaker 2: a little nervous.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you feel like he would have been somebody that's
- 43:01Speaker 1: gotta be yelling, might have just put him stuff in
- 43:04Speaker 1: the car.
- 43:05Speaker 3: I think he was one of those that he he
- 43:08Speaker 3: had nervous energy and didn't want to give that off
- 43:10Speaker 3: to me, especially for especially for track meets. I think
- 43:16Speaker 3: he was just trying to be like, hey, Sherman does
- 43:18Speaker 3: a really good job of saying positive and clear mind, Like, uh,
- 43:23Speaker 3: track was a sport that like I excel at, and
- 43:25Speaker 3: I think that he.
- 43:26Speaker 2: We're talking shot put, but now now.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Hey we're talking, Uh what were you on the training stuff?
- 43:36Speaker 2: You talking about track and field? You putting on people?
- 43:41Speaker 2: What are we doing?
- 43:43Speaker 3: But yeah, he was just like, what was your what
- 43:45Speaker 3: were your events? Eight hundred four by four and four hundred?
- 43:49Speaker 3: Oh dude, that's a tough day. It was a tough
- 43:52Speaker 3: day at you. Yeah, it was a tough day. But uh,
- 43:55Speaker 3: back in the day, what was eight hundred? Pod was
- 44:01Speaker 3: not my race? I think I only broke I got
- 44:07Speaker 3: very close to like a minute flat. We meet on
- 44:10Speaker 3: the Utah in the four hundred we're talking two minutes.
- 44:15Speaker 3: You got closer to two minutes. Okay, sorry, I got
- 44:18Speaker 3: very close to two minutes because I would go out
- 44:20Speaker 3: in the eight hundred and run my first leg like
- 44:22Speaker 3: a fifty six, and then I would.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Kind of die out. So you were a stud at
- 44:26Speaker 2: the four hundred.
- 44:27Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I was more of a four hundred runner.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Fifty three, fifty two. That's a strong that's a strong time,
- 44:32Speaker 3: white boy for a five seven white boy, five.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Seven white boy. Come on now, yeah, yeah, back in
- 44:38Speaker 2: the back in the back, day in the day, back
- 44:40Speaker 2: in the day.
- 44:41Speaker 3: But yeah, my dad even always well and he would
- 44:44Speaker 3: sorry to my dad. He would be in the stands too.
- 44:47Speaker 3: But I could just tell on some of those days
- 44:50Speaker 3: he was. He talked, you've met my dad, he looked.
- 44:53Speaker 3: He talks a lot, very friendly, very open.
- 44:55Speaker 2: But he's in town.
- 44:56Speaker 3: He's in town. They're coming today. I can't wait to
- 44:59Speaker 3: hug them. Yeah, they're coming today. They're very excited to
- 45:01Speaker 3: see Yeah. But uh yeah, he would claim up, he
- 45:04Speaker 3: claim up and track me so you.
- 45:05Speaker 2: Can get real you like this, that's good. He wanted it.
- 45:10Speaker 5: Any sports competition, but Dad would sit there. If I
- 45:13Speaker 5: had a bad game.
- 45:13Speaker 2: I would see my dad, like pacing on the sideline.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I'll come and go. Where's Dad?
- 45:18Speaker 5: He goes, She's he's in the car. Sorry, dad, I'm
- 45:21Speaker 5: totally outing.
- 45:22Speaker 2: But it was also he'd go to the car if
- 45:23Speaker 2: you're having a bad game.
- 45:24Speaker 5: Really, I mean, this is like no, and he was
- 45:27Speaker 5: never mean, he never yelled or anything, but he couldn't.
- 45:31Speaker 5: He's probably listening through it now.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Like, yeah, now that I think about it, he's going
- 45:37Speaker 1: to the car if I'm bad game. I kind of
- 45:39Speaker 1: when I needed him the most, he kind of he
- 45:41Speaker 1: shilled up once in the car.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I think about I kind of need to talk to you.
- 45:49Speaker 2: I want to share this.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Hey, I know on a real sense, I think I
- 45:54Speaker 3: know where your dad's coming from. That he didn't want you.
- 45:56Speaker 2: To see that he was crushed for you.
- 45:59Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel I never got the like, I never
- 46:03Speaker 5: got the like getting yelled at in the car going
- 46:05Speaker 5: we love we love quiet.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Right, how do you feel about that game? Yeah?
- 46:11Speaker 5: Just there, Like I don't think i'll play that good?
- 46:14Speaker 5: All right, we'll get it next time.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Quick potty break from this for the Dead's episode. To
- 46:18Speaker 1: shout out our sponsors, shout out Liquid IV no free
- 46:21Speaker 1: shout outs listen. The sun is long, it's it's gone.
- 46:24Speaker 1: We are now in fall weather. The weather's breaking starting
- 46:28Speaker 1: to get colder, which means it's a it's starting to
- 46:31Speaker 1: get harder to stay hydrated. You don't want to drink
- 46:34Speaker 1: the Kolsa because it's starting to get a little cold,
- 46:36Speaker 1: but you have to remind yourself to stay hydrated.
- 46:38Speaker 2: We do that with Liquid IV.
- 46:40Speaker 1: One stick in sixteen ounces of water hydrates better than
- 46:43Speaker 1: water alone. Liquid IV has three times the electrolytes of

- 47:07Speaker 1: With code busting at liquidiv dot com. This is simple,
- 47:11Speaker 1: your boy. I am somebody who leaves water bottles in
- 47:14Speaker 1: my truck overnight. I do not bring them inside, so
- 47:16Speaker 1: that way, when I come outside the next morning and
- 47:18Speaker 1: get in my truck, I have some cold water. All
- 47:20Speaker 1: you need is these packets of liquid IV. Throw them
- 47:23Speaker 1: in there in that cold water in the morning and
- 47:24Speaker 1: you will be good to go for the day. We
- 47:26Speaker 1: are also brought to you by True Classic. True Classic
- 47:30Speaker 1: Look good, feel good, play good.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Listen.
- 47:32Speaker 1: True Classic has been in my life now coming up
- 47:34Speaker 1: on two years. True Classic was a store that I
- 47:37Speaker 1: shopped at Heavy two two Christmases ago and bought a
- 47:41Speaker 1: massive order for my dad and my brothers back home.
- 47:45Speaker 1: A massive order enough that the that the CEO Ryan
- 47:49Speaker 1: from True Classic saw this massive order reached out to
- 47:52Speaker 1: me recognize that we were with busting with the boys.
- 47:55Speaker 1: We are now involved in a partnership with True Classic.
- 47:57Speaker 1: And here's the cool part with True Classic. Right now,
- 48:00Speaker 1: True Classic just launched a boys line for the boy
- 48:03Speaker 1: dads out there you can now match, and honestly, it's
- 48:05Speaker 1: way better than those awkward family photo outfits and cheesy pajamas.
- 48:08Speaker 1: You get to show up together, feel comfortable, and actually
- 48:11Speaker 1: look good doing it. And the crazy thing is True
- 48:13Speaker 1: Classic has already sold over twenty five million shirts to
- 48:17Speaker 1: more than five million customers. Those are repeat customers, That's
- 48:21Speaker 1: why those numbers are so lopsided. Twenty five million shirts
- 48:23Speaker 1: to more than five million customers with over two hundred
- 48:26Speaker 1: thousand five star reviews, so I'm definitely not the only
- 48:29Speaker 1: dad who has figured this out. You can find them
- 48:31Speaker 1: on Amazon targets, select Costco and Sam's Club locations locations
- 48:37Speaker 1: just head to True Classic dot com slash for the dads.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Trust your boys here, trust BT six Grab one. You
- 48:43Speaker 1: will think me later. Look good, feel good, play good.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Let's get back to this for the dad's episode, and
- 48:48Speaker 1: again make sure you're subscribed to the channel.
- 48:50Speaker 3: I also before we move on, because I know we
- 48:53Speaker 3: need to move on by You've got to move on
- 48:54Speaker 3: because comment I have to read this cop because it's
- 48:58Speaker 3: teasing something big. Okay, I just farted when I said teasing.
- 49:01Speaker 3: That's how big it is. Connor Wonderley on YouTube said
- 49:06Speaker 3: PT six are here, new to the area. Wife is
- 49:10Speaker 3: asking for the best pumpkin patch slash fall festival place
- 49:14Speaker 3: to take her and our eight month old Anny Rex
- 49:17Speaker 3: in the Nashville Franklin area. Willie one shelf, would you
- 49:23Speaker 3: like to take this question? Boo with the zoo, Boo
- 49:27Speaker 3: with the zoo? What is that?
- 49:29Speaker 2: That's where you're leading me? Right, yes, sir?
- 49:31Speaker 1: What is b Boo with the Zoo our first PT
- 49:35Speaker 1: six meetup, Papa Team six meetup for for the dads.
- 49:38Speaker 1: It'll be at Boo at the Zoo here in Nashville
- 49:41Speaker 1: on October twenty eighth, at five thirty pm from five
- 49:47Speaker 1: thirty to seven. For the dads, the PT sixers right here,
- 49:52Speaker 1: Derek Chef, your boys, best staff, really one shelf.
- 49:56Speaker 2: We will be at Boo at the Zoo.
- 49:57Speaker 1: We're bringing the kids, bringing the kiddos. The families will
- 50:00Speaker 1: be there first pop a Team six meetup. You might
- 50:04Speaker 1: be thinking what to expect. I personally don't know, because
- 50:09Speaker 1: part of me is like, you know, this isn't this
- 50:11Speaker 1: isn't gonna be like a.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Like what like a like a meet and greet? Yeah,
- 50:18Speaker 2: not so much meet and greet.
- 50:20Speaker 1: We might bring like the meetings of the minds, meeting
- 50:22Speaker 1: of the PT sixers. Here's what the vibe is gonna be.
- 50:24Speaker 1: Here's what it has to be because we got the
- 50:26Speaker 1: kids there. Ru's gonna wear her fairy costume, she's gonna dress,
- 50:30Speaker 1: she's gonna wear, She's gonna be in astume.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Yea we might we might as well.
- 50:35Speaker 3: I might be intume.
- 50:36Speaker 2: Well, we're there to.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Have good family time at the zoo, whether we do
- 50:41Speaker 1: it with a crew or we all meet up at first,
- 50:43Speaker 1: say a few words, some dads, maybe some quick selfies.
- 50:48Speaker 1: But the thing it can't turn into is a full
- 50:50Speaker 1: on like a meet and Greek thing. While our wives
- 50:53Speaker 1: and kids are standing there, just the dads are talking shop,
- 50:56Speaker 1: talking stories and we just some dads. Yeah, we just
- 50:58Speaker 1: some dads were I have the same anxiety, like kind
- 51:02Speaker 1: of you know, I know, my wife's like, hey, so
- 51:04Speaker 1: what are we doing here?
- 51:05Speaker 2: Is this just? Is this just a photo shoot?
- 51:07Speaker 1: Are we gonna have some fun at the zoo with
- 51:08Speaker 1: the kiddos, with the fam We going to the girafts
- 51:11Speaker 1: or what?
- 51:11Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, wish to see the line Oh Willie one
- 51:15Speaker 2: pick maybe two and that's it. Yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 3: But I will say the Nashville Zoo has done a
- 51:22Speaker 3: really good job with the boot the Zoo. It's decked
- 51:26Speaker 3: to the nine with pumpkins, skeletons, all kinds of spooky stuff.
- 51:32Speaker 3: They encourage Halloween outfits. You do have to buy a ticket.
- 51:37Speaker 3: Those are available at Nashville Zoo dot org. That's Nashville
- 51:42Speaker 3: Zoo dot org. There are a thousand tickets available for
- 51:46Speaker 3: this event. That's outside of the PT six meetup. That's
- 51:51Speaker 3: just in general. For the five thirty slot, there are
- 51:54Speaker 3: a thousand tickets so ptsikos in the area make sure
- 51:58Speaker 3: to go to Nashville dot org and get your tikies,
- 52:01Speaker 3: get your tikies.
- 52:02Speaker 1: What I'm envisioning is we all get there toy around
- 52:06Speaker 1: five point thirty, might give it to five forty five
- 52:10Speaker 1: to where you'll see where we are.
- 52:13Speaker 2: We'll have a little table. Will there be merch, Yes.
- 52:17Speaker 3: There will be merch, and we're looking to have a
- 52:21Speaker 3: little game of uh what is it called scavenger hunt.
- 52:26Speaker 3: We're gonna hide some little things throughout and we'll put
- 52:28Speaker 3: out a social media promo, but we're gonna hide some
- 52:30Speaker 3: little things in the park that if Papa or Mama
- 52:35Speaker 3: Team six find these little tokens and bring it back
- 52:38Speaker 3: to the Papa Team six table, they will get a
- 52:40Speaker 3: free merch and a king sized candy bar.
- 52:44Speaker 5: PT six Nation. Sorry for the interruption. This is your
- 52:47Speaker 5: producer Jack coming in here. As I'm ending the episode.
- 52:51Speaker 5: We have some changes to the bood at the Zoo
- 52:54Speaker 5: that I want to make aware to all of you.
- 52:56Speaker 5: We will not have a table. I'm so sorry. Don't
- 53:00Speaker 5: blame me. Will ensure them like to run their mouths
- 53:02Speaker 5: about stuff they don't know. But that's okay. We will
- 53:06Speaker 5: not have a table and then also scavenger hunt. Wise
- 53:09Speaker 5: schirm chairman Sherman, I'm talking to PT six nation right now.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Are we gonna have a scavenger hunt? Oh? Yes, we're
- 53:18Speaker 2: going to have a scavenger Oh we're not.
- 53:20Speaker 5: Having Wait we're not, see sherm and will love to
- 53:23Speaker 5: run their mouth. They don't know what they're talking about.
- 53:25Speaker 5: Are we are?
- 53:29Speaker 2: We aren't? Okay, we aren't. Is that correct, dude? I
- 53:32Speaker 2: have no clue. I think that's it that we are not.
- 53:36Speaker 2: I don't think we are either.
- 53:37Speaker 3: And it's the first twenty people that show up.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Get we're handing out hat some shirts. Uh, first twenty
- 53:47Speaker 2: you hear that. PG six nation. First twenty people who.
- 53:50Speaker 8: Show up, will we'll get a shirt also or hat
- 53:55Speaker 8: or hat whatever you like. But yes, that's all back
- 53:58Speaker 8: to your regular schedule programming.
- 54:04Speaker 2: King size only the King size candy bar. Oh buddy, one.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Thing I'll say is probably reshape the brain. You're right,
- 54:10Speaker 4: it's not a meet and greet. This is a group
- 54:13Speaker 4: dad brownie point event when we are setting something up.
- 54:16Speaker 4: So you can come, you can meet Lilli and Shurm,
- 54:19Speaker 4: but you are your honey. We're going to boot. You
- 54:22Speaker 4: always want to go to Booth the Zoo. We're going
- 54:23Speaker 4: to Booth the Zoo. We're going to boot the Browny
- 54:25Speaker 4: Point meetup.
- 54:25Speaker 1: And in between that five thirty five forty five, when
- 54:28Speaker 1: we're all there, like at the table, I think the
- 54:31Speaker 1: best thing would just be get a group get a
- 54:33Speaker 1: squad photo. Yeah of the PT sixers. Ooh, we get
- 54:37Speaker 1: Damily's sick, and we just do a matt. We just
- 54:40Speaker 1: do a big group photo. From that group photo, you
- 54:43Speaker 1: can get merch. You can go on the scavenger and
- 54:45Speaker 1: find tokens if you want to just enjoy the evening,
- 54:49Speaker 1: enjoy at the zoo.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Yes, and we'll see each other.
- 54:53Speaker 3: PT six Hey, and the goal is wife goes, hey,
- 54:56Speaker 3: isn't that the two assholes that you listen to on
- 54:58Speaker 3: YouTube over there? Center there and you go, oh, yeah,
- 55:00Speaker 3: that's weird. They're here too. I don't even know that's
- 55:04Speaker 3: so weird.
- 55:04Speaker 2: You can't. I don't think you can say that about
- 55:07Speaker 2: the Milk Team sixers. Bro Oh.
- 55:08Speaker 3: I think Milk Tea sixers are brought in, They are
- 55:11Speaker 3: bought in. They are bought in. That was a low blow.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Like you could see like whenever people will talk about
- 55:17Speaker 1: for the dads, Like I'll get dads that come up
- 55:18Speaker 1: to me, families that'll come up and say, the wife
- 55:21Speaker 1: might be like my husband, he loves listening to you
- 55:24Speaker 1: on for the dads And as he said there, he's like,
- 55:25Speaker 1: we watch you every week and stuff, and you just
- 55:27Speaker 1: kind of see that little smile from.
- 55:28Speaker 2: The muff from mom. You know what I mean.
- 55:30Speaker 1: Oh, for dad loves watching them come on now, hey
- 55:33Speaker 1: for sure, Hey nobody Milk Team sixture.
- 55:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:36Speaker 3: And the pictures that I get of I love the
- 55:40Speaker 3: dms from Mama Team six of their husband on the couch,
- 55:45Speaker 3: you know, with baby like they're watching they're all watching together. Yeah, dude,
- 55:49Speaker 3: they are the yeah Mama Team.
- 55:51Speaker 2: That was a low blow. And I do apologize to
- 55:53Speaker 2: Mama Team six.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Yeah there there probably ain't many out there, but those
- 55:57Speaker 1: are the two assholes you listen to.
- 55:59Speaker 3: But that was that.
- 56:00Speaker 2: We giggled. We did gig, We did giggle.
- 56:02Speaker 3: It was a giggle and we just have fun on it.
- 56:04Speaker 1: The only time moments I would envision is if like say,
- 56:08Speaker 1: say you're new listening to the show and let's say
- 56:10Speaker 1: it was last week's episode or the week before that,
- 56:13Speaker 1: and the first thing it's gonna said, Papadine's thinks, I
- 56:16Speaker 1: hope your belly is full and your balls are empty.
- 56:17Speaker 2: And then the wife's like, this is what you've been
- 56:19Speaker 2: hearing about. This is your exemplement exemplament. You got it,
- 56:29Speaker 2: you got it.
- 56:30Speaker 5: Jeff, I can't say the word I'm getting blinked, but
- 56:34Speaker 5: I was gonna imitate and go, this is your father
- 56:37Speaker 5: podcast he listened to about being a good dad.
- 56:40Speaker 2: These guys, these guys, this dude calls himself to captain
- 56:45Speaker 2: a seaman team.
- 56:48Speaker 3: What is they just read the definition of boofing off
- 56:53Speaker 3: Urban Dictionary.
- 56:54Speaker 2: Oh, and that we call it. And here's adad hack.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Make sure you love your daughter. Oh, here's your survival kit.
- 57:02Speaker 3: Make sure you have an extra passe.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Let's get into some dad talk. Let's get into some
- 57:08Speaker 1: dad talk. I've been going through a few different things.
- 57:10Speaker 1: We'll go through again, wins and losses. We will crack
- 57:13Speaker 1: a collet, some survival kid dad act, some things that
- 57:15Speaker 1: I've been experiencing over the last over the last week
- 57:18Speaker 1: or so, we have our Halloween costumes dialed in.
- 57:22Speaker 2: M I'm jealous.
- 57:23Speaker 3: I need to.
- 57:24Speaker 1: I was hoping that we could be like a Star
- 57:26Speaker 1: Wars crew like Roue could be Ray Skywalker.
- 57:31Speaker 2: We found this.
- 57:31Speaker 1: I found this like dress, Uh, why am I blinking?
- 57:36Speaker 2: Jed Jedi robe.
- 57:38Speaker 1: There is this like robe that was like a dress
- 57:41Speaker 1: Jedi for Ray Skywalker to where she's got like the
- 57:46Speaker 1: bubble the triple pony the little bubble ponytail going on.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Loves the bubble ponytail like yo if she rips Ray Skywalker.
- 57:53Speaker 1: I'm looking into full on Darth Vader costumes. You could
- 57:57Speaker 1: put a great Vader, we could put We could put
- 58:01Speaker 1: Charro beautiful hair, will get her as why am I
- 58:05Speaker 1: ring a b Princess Leiah with the side buns.
- 58:09Speaker 2: You get a little Scottie as Yoda.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Find a little adorable Yoda costume with the little you know,
- 58:16Speaker 1: the little netted or you'll see it on Etsy, the
- 58:18Speaker 1: little netted with the Yoda ears.
- 58:21Speaker 2: That what we are doing. We were going to and
- 58:24Speaker 2: I'm juiced up about it.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I was about to say, if y'all did do that,
- 58:27Speaker 3: then we could also do Star Wars as well and
- 58:33Speaker 3: be other characters, but also do so.
- 58:35Speaker 2: For Halloween, We're gonna be the inside out crew.
- 58:39Speaker 3: That's a massive win.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Love it? Oh you don't like it? I'd ask who
- 58:44Speaker 2: I am?
- 58:45Speaker 8: Oh?
- 58:46Speaker 1: No, no, no, I would have loved to have been Anger.
- 58:54Speaker 2: I'm fear.
- 58:59Speaker 3: That's funny. Was that Charles's idea? Yeah, Charo, way, that's
- 59:05Speaker 3: off to Charo. That is funny. You got the glasses
- 59:08Speaker 3: and the little wig and everything.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Broa type in fear costume, fear costume inside out.
- 59:15Speaker 2: And charge is to be a what is it? A bingo?
- 59:21Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I was thinking of sadness. I was. I
- 59:24Speaker 2: thought Chari was having you dress up as the blue One.
- 59:27Speaker 1: No, I think that's gonna be I think that's gonna
- 59:29Speaker 1: be scotty because her parents are also like, we're rounding
- 59:31Speaker 1: out the six.
- 59:32Speaker 2: Okay, okay, yes, you're Fear with the bow tie and yeah.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Got this long headed costume thing that I'm just gonna
- 59:40Speaker 1: be working.
- 59:42Speaker 2: I'm trying to be Darth Vader. I'm trying to force
- 59:46Speaker 2: show people.
- 59:47Speaker 1: I was like, hey, we should do some like where
- 59:49Speaker 1: it's like DC Superheroes. I was gonna be Bane PUSCOTTI
- 59:54Speaker 1: is Wolverine, but no, I gotta be Fear from inside out.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: You look it up. We haven't pulled up. Well, I
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: think this is gonna look great on You're gonna look great.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: And he's got a little hounds tooth going in his vest.
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: That looks awesome, Darth Vader bro would it? Would it
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: be salting the wound if then I did Star Wars?
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Yeah? But that you guys just come decked out six
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Star Wars?
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Is that what you are wearing to Boo at the Zoo?
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: No, boot the Zoo. So Rue wants to be a fairy.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: She saw this dress. She wants to dress.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: She's all about princesses and dresses, and she wants to
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: be a fairy. So Charro is we're thinking, like, all right,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: for Halloween, we want this, you know, we want to
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: squad fit all inside out. Ruth's either gonna be like
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Joy or's gonna be one of them, okay, okay, one
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: of the good ones. Yeah yeah, And she's like, here's
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: how we knock out the fairy costume. We'll let wear
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: the fairy costume at Boo at the Zoo. So that
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: way when it's allween time, Hey, you're gonna two costumes.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: We got Halloween boota Zoo. You're gonna wear the ferry
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: and then for Halloween, you'll get to be one of
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: the characters of Inside Out. Yeah, Charles gets to be uh,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: what is it? Bing Bong? Charles bing Bong? That's the
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: inflated one. I wanted to be being bo. I was like,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I'd be bing Bong. She's like, oh, you know the.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: Sizes I ordered it sizes. You would have been a
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: great I gotta be out of your fear.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: So y'all don't have anything playing for Bed at the Zoo,
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Not yet. I was getting too not yet, not yet,
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: not yet, come up with something. Yeah, I'm trying to
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: throw something together.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Yeah, we get something going.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but Boot the Zoo October twenty eighth, Tuesday, five thirty,
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: be there, be there.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: I think I might do Fat Stafford. That might be
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: my my dress up. Get some shoulder pads going, little
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Matt Stafford jersey.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: That could be good. That could be good. Maybe I
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: could hit the world. Willie one shelf. You should be willy.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: What do we think of? What are we talking about? Here?
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Kind of got the costume we do?
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: I have a question for the audience, please, I have
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: a question for the parents out there. Rus three her
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: personalities as big as ever. I see a lot of
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: great signs of confidence and leadership, but she's also very
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: sassy m And as a parent you're always trying to
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: figure out the balance between. Like, all right, they're kind
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: of talking crazy to me, right now? Do I stay
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: poised in the pocket like Baker Mayfield without any of
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: his big targets?
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: What do I kind of snap back? Yeah? Her right?
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: So my question is, are sassy moments a sign of confidence?
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Sorry? If you guys hear these honks there's outside, well
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: we might have to go full pet Siko.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: I think that you might just go out there and
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: yell sorry if you guys heard the honks out there?
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Are sassy moments a sign of the podcast? Who we
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: do it? Go check on it? Go check on it? Derek?
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: So is sassiness a hey we've done to fell money?
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Our sassy moments a sign of confidence? Our sassy moments
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: a sign of confidence? Or they to test boundaries. I
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: think that's a great question. I'm running through that in
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: my mind.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Slash. I know what you're saying because I've seen you
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: deal with.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: Sassin with sassiness and attitude pretty like I think really, well.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Okay, I was doing some like I was doing some
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: research on this. I did come across like a parent sour.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: It's like a blog, it's like ways of spot of
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: sassy little personality. And this this source describes sas as
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: part of early experiments with identity, independence, autonomy, boldness, and
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: it frames sas as a superpower. In a way, being
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: sassy can mean that a child is learning to stand up,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: testing what works socially, and seeing their voice as meaningful.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Then I came across. I came across this metaphor like
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: boundary railings. If the bridge has no railing, the toddler
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: crosses slowly, hesitantly, and insecurely. With boundaries, they cross with
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: more confidence. SaaS may emerge as part of the testing
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: phase until those.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Rails are in place.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: So then I'm just thinking to myself, all right, what
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: are examples that I can hang on to where it's like,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: all right, this is good, this is confidence here testing
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: about it. It's all encompassing, right, because it's always happening, like
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: when their brains are developed and they kind of like
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: lose their minds. Yeah, and you're kind of in the
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: pocket trying to figure out what to do. But when
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I'm thinking back on examples that we might have been
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: trying to experiment with.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Or might have done.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: I see, like it's like dinner time, she'll get she's
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: been sassy around dinner time. But now that I feel
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: like she understands these boundaries of clean plate club, or
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: you don't get what you're actually thinking about until this happens,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: it almost.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: Takes away the.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: I don't know, I guess the reaction on my part
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: because now we know what the said boundaries are to
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: where I'm like, hey, yeah, you don't have to you
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: don't have to eat your food. You kind of know
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: what consequences come with that because I know what your
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: little brain's thinking about. You're thinking, how can I get
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: out of eating dinner right now and still get the
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: cookie at the same time, or how can I press
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: I'll eat two bites. Two bites don't really work anymore,
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Like you need to eat your food.
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: I need to.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Show that you had in a very respectable effort with
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: your plate. In my brain, I'm thinking, it doesn't have
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: to be clean, but I need to know you're you're
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: eating at your chicken, you're eating at your vegetables, You're
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: eating at whether it's potatoes, rice, whatever, it is like
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: if I know you're putting an effort and you'll you'll
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: get your little half cookie here at the end of dinner.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Like I know what that looks like, but I feel
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: like that's a that's been something I think too about.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: All right, there's something that's like clear boundaries that are
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: set there now, like learning when I was doing when
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I was kind of breaking down the morning routine, like
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: rude gets really sassy or whiny, you know what I mean,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: to where it's like, well, do why does why does.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: The morning have to be such an issue right now? Bro?
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: Like we do this every morning, But I've identified to
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: where it's like she does love her independence, she does
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: love to where she feels like she's in control, to
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: where like one morning or a couple of mornings now
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: where it's like, hey, I got a challenge for you,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: and I've kind of laid out a couple outfits because like,
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: we're not going to go through this whole I don't want.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: To wear this outfit.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: I'm wearing this one, and then it just becomes an
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: entire argument in negotiation. It's like, all right, I've laid
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: out a couple options. Hey, here's your challenge you pick
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: out your outfit, you can put it on. First thing
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: you gotta do is you gotta go body. We gotta
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: clean you up. You go body first.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: But then I challenge you.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: Dad is going to leave the room. I know you
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: yell at mean, go downstairs. You want to do it
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: by yourself. I recognize that you want to be independent
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: in this situation. Yeah, so it's like, all right, I
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: trust you. You got to make you bet. You gotta
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: pick out your outfit. Here's a couple I let out
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: for you. You gotta make your bed, makes your room's tidied up.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: Like she loves to slide the door shut. She likes
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: to do all the things. And then that mama come
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: upstairs and see what I've done.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: Yea thing.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I was like, I'm gonna go downstairs and start making
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: breakfast whenever you come downstairs, because I know you like
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: to think about what you want for breakfast. Now, I'm
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: not if I give her a couple officer, I don't
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: know yet. It's like, all right, you think about it
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: and you tell me yeah, But then when you come downstairs,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: you have you've thought about it. You let me know
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: what you want for breakfast. Now that we kind of
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: had some of those boundaries in place. When I'm rocking
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: solo mission doing the morning routine. That's kind of the
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: way I approach it because I'll get Scotti going. She's
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: just a minute, she just wants to be down on
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: the floor playing. I'll start making breakfast, get up the
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: barricade at the stairs. Rue, you can hang out by
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: yourself upstairs, do your morning routine by yourself, however you
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: see fit. These are the things you gotta do. I've
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: now seen that that has that that has been there
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: has been fruits that have came from that because she
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: has grown and understanding what the boundaries are dealing with
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: her her sassiness. Yeah, and then another one. I think
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: that where I'm going through all this, I'm like, that
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: is a good question or sassy moments the confidence or
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: do they are they testing boundaries? And it's like it's
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: probably the whole mix of both things, and am I
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: getting do I again? Do I let her walk all
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: over me? Or it's like, hey, you're whining. You're not
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: using your strong voice. You know, Dada doesn't like to
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: be talked to like that. Yeah, change your tone, or
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: when I hear your strong voice, I will do what
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: you are asking. Then I'm thinking, is she still getting
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: her way by being sassy? I'm telling her the answer.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: If she gives me the answer, she still gets it.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Am I am? I kind of being the am I
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: being a push over there? Like these I'm always like
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: asking myself these things like as I'm trying to parent
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: and trying to figure out ways for her to like
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: develop and grow and be strong, and how she's like
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: asking questions or like, hey, use your confident voice?
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: Can I can I as a not a co host
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: but more of a friend kind of just say my
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: two cents on what I think of you as a
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: dad in those situations.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Not yet hold it? I have one more. The coupons
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: we had the dad hack of using TV coupons.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: RU would always rue is always kind of in that
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: you know, you're just in that spot.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: I want to watch this scene. I want to watch No,
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: I don't want it to be over.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: And then she's crying and it's like you're sitting down
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: with her on the couch. And then when we came
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: across the TV coupons, once thirty minutes goes up, now
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: she kind of knows that it's done. Yeah, that was
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: my third example, Like, when I'm reading through all this
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: stuff and trying to figure out am I doing this correctly?
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Am I going about this the right way? Here are
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: some evidence that I can now pull from the word say, okay,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: these are boundaries that are in place whenever it's happening
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: in other moments, find other boundaries to kind of put
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: around there, to kind of like allow her to be
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: her if she's having a moment. But then she also
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: knows in the back of her mind these are what
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: the boundaries are. Yeah, okay, now you can, now you can,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: Now you can go. I just wanted to get that
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: third one out there.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: No, I love that. I love that. Do you have
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: more on it?
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: I don't want to cut you off of any type
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: of brain, like where where else is your mind going?
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: With?
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: My mind like goes through there because as I like,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: as I like pose that question to parents that might
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: be like wondering the same stuff here have been my
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: like highs and lows and how I've tried to like
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: navigate those things on the whole boundaries issue. Yes, am
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I being a pushover? Do I need to be a
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: little bit more snappy with her? It's hard to because
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: it's my daughter, and I'm softer with my daughter, but
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: also I want to, you know, mold a human being
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: that I see is fit within, like resilience and leadership
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: and humility and like, hey, here's how you need to
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: be talking to people. Am I allowing it a little
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: too much? Am I doing a better job here? I'm
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: more so communicating things that I look to that I've
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: done that are now I feel like evidence in my eyes,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: and things that kind of help me think about what
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: that next.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: Thing might be.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: To put boundaries around so I don't allow her to
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: be out of hand in certain situations. So I'm more
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: of like talking through this with the parents at home,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: through this out loud on Hey, here's some things this
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: works for me. Here's some things that I'm thinking about
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: now where I can do better. Yeah.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: So that to I think it's the same thing as
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: me being worried about being a good dad of before
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: Scarlett was ever here. And you said the fact that
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: you're worried about it and asking questions is a great sign.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: I would say that about this of the sassiness issue,
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: the fact that you're worried about it, you're thinking about it,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: you're adapting you're trying new techniques. Would this work? What
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: if I gave her some more responsibility? What if I
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: gave her some more places where Rue can make the
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: right decision and put the ball on her court instead
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: of reacting emotionally and trying to take the power from
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: her in that situation. Like, I think you're doing a
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: great job of just confronting the issue. Rather or not
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: sassiness is the sad Yeah, they're gonna be sassy, and
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: rather or not that's going to turn into a good
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: character trait or a negative one where she's given attitude
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: you know people at school or teachers or whatever. Like
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: that's besides the point. I think you're doing a good
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: job of identifying it, navigating it, and trying to find
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: a solution or a way to make this a good thing,
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: make this a character trait, and to.
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: Brag on Rue.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: At the fall Fest, we're doing drawings, and Rue sat
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: there and did not say a word the entire time,
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: but was very like peaceful as she's like coloring.
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: She loves coloring love.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: She was locked in and JJ Jeremy's son is sitting
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: there with me drawing.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Shreman, Hey, Hey, Sherman Sherman. Sherman, Hey Rue, Rue, Hey Rue,
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: look Rue, Look look.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: Rue, And Rue is wanting no part of what's going
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: on with Sherman and JJ. Yeah, but she was not
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: rude about it at all. She was very quiet, and
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: she would slowly look up from her drawing and look
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: at JJ's drawing and go and look back down and keep.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: Coloring, and like you could tell that in that moment
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: she was setting.
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: A boundary for JJ and saying like, Hey, I'm not
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: matching your energy right now. I'm locked in. I'm doing
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: my thing, and like the most I'm gonna say is charm.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: Will you get me purple? And I gave her a
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: purple and she said thank you and started doing her brother.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: That's so funny, Like she's doing a good job of
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: setting You could tell she wasn't annoyed by JJ, but
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: she was like JJ.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: Got done with one because he was coloring the bats.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, and he was having like I want Rue
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: to see the bass because Rue was going to color
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: like her and Mom went to go color a Halloween
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: bag or something like that.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Yeah. I just remember walking over to the room and I'm like, hey, Rue,
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: JJ really wants you.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: To see yeah, to see his color back going over
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: to him. Yeah, yeah, which I love.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: That was all about it. JJ is a great ball
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: of energy, bro. Yeah, his enthusiasm is off the charts.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: And I'm like laughing because I and I'm like seeing
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Rue and Rue clearly hears him r and Clump's trying to, like,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: you know, tone him down, and I'm like, hey, I'll
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: go try and get Rud in my head start like go,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: he wants to show you this color. It's just like
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: when you run up to us and you're like, hey,
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: you just look at my drawing and we're like, oh
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: my god. Like he wants to like go give him
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: a little something. She goes over and she's like that's good.
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: And I dude, I loved that moment of real I
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: felt like I saw a lot of Rue's personality in
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: that moment. I love that even though she wasn't matching
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: his energy, like she was not mean to him. She
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: didn't say leave me alone, da da dah, I'm doing
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: that Like she was very calm and poised and so
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: just wanted to brag on your daughter in that moment.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: I appreciate it. She could have lost her cool.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: Here's another one this morning, like this morning on Friday,
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: She's like, hey, or one sleep until we go to
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: the fan. You know, she's rattling off because we're like, oh,
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: great job, and she's like she wants to tell everybody.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: One sleep until we go to the Vanderbilt game. Two
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: sleeps until we do until we go to uh uh,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: until we go to Grandpa's uh.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Three sleeps until we go to London. I'm like, hey, sweetheart, bro,
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: she got a weekend coming out.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: I'm my, hey, sweetheart, no sleeps? You know who plays
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: football tonight? And she's like ooh, and I'm like the
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Nebraska corner.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: And she like kind I'm like holding her ind she
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: kind of like and leans back and she's like she's
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: like dead, you know who plays football tonight?
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: And I'm like the Huskers And she's like no, She's
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: like no, and she starts kind of getting sassy with me.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: She's like, no, I say who plays the night you
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: you don't say Huskers, you don't say you don't say nothing,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: I tell you Huskers. Like all right, I'm on a
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: knee down on her level and I'm like and again
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: I'm having one of those ones.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: I'm like, you little girl.
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: I'm like, all right, let's do that. She's like and
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: then she tells her voice. She's like dad who plays
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: the night? And I'm like, and she's.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: Like the scers. I was like, oh, the Huskers. And
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: I'm thinking of that moment, Like am I just letting
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: her walk all over me? You know, I think she
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: has Uh. I don't know, you're not all that well,
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: but you're gonna go through it.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: I'm just saying three is a different three is a
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: different vibe.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Bro. She she's wanting that independence in that uh control
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: control and and uh yeah, dude, I think that's a
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: cool thing that she wants that.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: She knows she's very much. She's like, she's like a boss.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: She's like, yeah, we went, uh this is I'll just
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: go ahead and say this is a survival kit. And
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: I apologize, like, I know, I'm sure you have some
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: stories as well. We had to go to uhur Charlo
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: takes her after swimming lesson on Tuesday, took her to
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Dick Sporting goes to get cones for soccer. She's got
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: a soccer ball at home, you know. She goes, but
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: she gets the cones and brings them home. She's got
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Charro out in the front yard running drills. She doesn't
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: want to play soccer. She wants to be the coach
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: that she's observed every time a soccer practice. And she's
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: putting Charro through the drills. She's not the one doing soccer. Yeah,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: like dad, I can get my apple juice. She comes
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: in Cyrol quick gets her apple juice, and I look
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: out there and Charles, the one doing the drills while
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: we're just we're just backing, watches her.
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: No my my, no around around.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: Yeah, do it this way.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: No, the cone goes here the bible, kid, go get
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: some cones. Kids love cones.
- 1:17:22Speaker 3: Dude, I love that. It sounds like you got a
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: commander in cheap, got a little commander in cheap.
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: You got a little Mike linebacker, is what it sounds like?
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: Green dot? You got a little green dot.
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: Dude. I think it's cool. I think Real is setting
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: herself up to be a very competent, independent, sure of
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: herself and her decisions, and it will come out sideways. Dude,
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: she's three. I'm not giving you advice. I'm just talking three.
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: I feel you, I feel you, But I think I
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: think that's badass.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Someone like leaning on the parents out there that have
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: had their three year older they're currently three, or maybe
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: they're two, they can like, oh, what's the age of three,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: like like just buckle up. Oh we were at Italy's
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: last night. Mac and cheese was too hot and it
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: really wasn't that hot. Like shoot her, you gotta blow
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: on and she's yelling, I mean no, don't blow on.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, I'm trying to make your life easier
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: and she doesn't want to. Where like you gotta sit
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: and let it wait, like eat your chicken tenders or
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: eat your chicken fingers until your mac and cheese cools down.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: She doesn't want to.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: She's crying, and you're like, you know, you're there as
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: a parent, you're in public. They're having a moment, and
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: you're like, you know, I'm like, fuck, like please stop
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: being so loud and like yelling and crying and everything else.
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: Do you feel like is it good for you though?
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: Like do you feel like.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: There's a part of you that maybe needed some softening
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: that like you feel like you're also kind of growing
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: in this moment self control.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Absolutely, because I know, like parents don't sit there and
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: tell you like don't dude, don't stress about that stuff.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Like we've all had kids and people who are like
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: their assholes they don't have kids.
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: Whatever. Yeah, something in that moment. I just gotta I
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: gotta be cool having a moment.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: I really wish you would just listen because it's like, bro,
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: I'm telling you number one, it's not that hot, Like
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: let that dad blow on it, mix it around, blow
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: on it, or hey, if you want to do yourself,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: you blow three on yourself. I show you all the time,
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: Like get a fork, not a spoon, then try it.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: If it's too hot, just eat the other.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: Thing on your plate.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: But she's having a moment to where it's happening for
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: several minutes orre she's crying.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: She's like, no, don't talk to me. Don't talk to me, Mama,
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: don't talk to me, like dad, ed, don't talk to me.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: John and I are both just kind of sitting there
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: quality to the point to where it's like we can't
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: even say, all right, we're not gonna talk to you.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: She's like no, no, and she's crying.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: She's got the mac and cheese, she's got it on
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: a fork just in her hand, like she's like, you know,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: red crying doing things Tron and I just kind of
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: sitting there. I'm kind of just looking over he Scotty.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: I'm like, Scott, to eat your eat your turkey.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: And then I hear Rue like she's not you know,
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: she doesn't want us to tell her what to do.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Uh huh. She doesn't want us to talk to her.
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: Eventually it's gonna swing the other way.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: She's sitting there, she's trying to figure it out in
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: her head as she's screaming. And then I just hear like,
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: as I'm like, look at Scotty out here, she's like.
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: Starting to blow on it, and I'm dude, I know
- 1:20:08Speaker 7: she's looking at me, and I'm laughing, and you know,
- 1:20:14Speaker 7: I got the quiet left going on to where.
- 1:20:15Speaker 3: My shoulders are going on. I can't look at Jarrow
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: like look up her. She sees me laughing through my
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: get a little more more. I'm like, Scott, you, oh,
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: you're so funny. Scott trying not look at room. But
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: she's mid cry, trying to blow on the mac and cheese.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Just the shakiest hands of all time. I I love it.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: Go ahead, Jim, I was gonna ask a question to Will.
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: Listening this to someone who doesn't have kids at twenty three,
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: if you, I guess the better way to put this
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: like three years ago, will how would he have reacted
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: to this situation compared to now?
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Do you think?
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: Can you see that where you're like, oh, I've definitely
- 1:20:55Speaker 5: grown because I'm sitting here going.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: I'm feeling for you. I don't have it they can.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: The way you're feeling me younger, or I'm just assuming
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: because obviously being a parent kind of like hey, you
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: have to grow and develop and kind of force yourself
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: to like patients all these things that you learn when
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: you do become a parent. But I fully think back
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: to your question, I was feeling what you were thinking,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: like as you're listening, like you kind of just want
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: to brow Hey, cut the shit. We can leave, Like
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: get up, we can leave right now. And you're kind
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: of making a scene as a parent, and really it's
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: not the way to handle You're kind of.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Just reacting and everything else.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: They're brain has so many things that's going on in
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: their head that they're trying to like learn and develop.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: They wish they were in control, like little toddlers. They're
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: always being told what to do, how to handle stuff. Hey,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: you need to blow on it, like use this, not that,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: wear this, not that, Go do x y and z.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Here's the routine. Hey, we have to get going. No,
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: we can't play right now, we have to do X
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: y and z.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: Blah blah blah.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: They're always being told what to do, and they want
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: their own independence and feel like when I'm reading about
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: there learning to stand up, testing what works socially, seeing
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: if their voice, they feel like they have a meaningful voice.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: They wanted to be heard. So you're like hearing, You're
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: like all this stuff is happening in real time to
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: where the development. As a parent, you're kind of challenging
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: yourself for to kick in and stay poised, stay in
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: the pocket, to not like lose yourself or lose control,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: because you have to empathize with what their little brain
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: is going through all these big emotions and they want
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: to be in control of their life too and not
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: be told what to do from mom and dad all
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: the time. So as you're listening, it's like, I very
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: much have that young will like in my head as.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: It's going on.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: If I wasn't a parent, I would fully be what
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: you were feeling because you think like this is how
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: my old man would have handled it, And that's how
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: my parents would have done it, right, Yes, And like
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: as you were growing as parents and trying to challenge
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: ourselves to like learn new things on how to be
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: intentional and present and are we doing our best right now?
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: We're trying to do our best.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: And it also makes you reflect on all the stuff
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: that you had when you were a child and what
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: your parents did.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Well, what now you feel like you're learning as a parent.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Like, man, my dad or my mom wasn't equipped in
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: this way, I feel like now because I'm sure the
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: generation before them handled them in a much different way.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: We have so many more resources and literature and things
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: that we can source now and look to for guidance, advice,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: things to try that I don't feel like our parents
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: had back then to where it was different for us.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: So it's like, you know, all those old ways of
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: how we were. My dad would tan my ass if
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: I'm making a scene in public and I might be older,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: maybe that's how I go when she's older. I'm just kidding,
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: but you know what I'm saying.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: Does that make sense? One hundred percent? It's very profound.
- 1:23:53Speaker 5: I'm going to make an edit of the The complete
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: sides of will Compton from like he's talking about like
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: the most mature and philosophical way of parenting, like these
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: things that I'm like, man, that is so smart and
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: I'm going to find you just farting.
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: That will be in the pipeline, just all the guy
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: humor that I love.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: The mini sides of William Coompton, William Earl, the third
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: and two Chefs. I loved Chef's question because I was
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: going to ask something similar and what I was going
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: to say earlier that I forgot to say is knowing
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: you and knowing that pool story where you ripped, where
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: it got to a point where it was like, Okay, Rue,
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: we're going home and you're not talking to your mom
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: like that and blah blah blah, like in your brain
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: with your upbringing and everything that's important to you morally,
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: all that stuff.
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: You are not going to raise a brat. You won't.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: You are not trying to raise a brat. You're not
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: trying to raise a kid that's going to be off
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: the rails like you are going to do a good
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: job of trying to create those guardrails and aim Rue
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: in the right direction.
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: Of where she needs to head growing up.
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: And I love where your head is at and your
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: instincts and the strategy that you're taking on this situation.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: I just wanted you to hear it.
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: I appreciate that, bro, that is ultimately the goal. I
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: think every parent's like, man, you don't want to raise
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: a brat. You don't want to raise you know, a
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: sassy as kid. You don't want to raise an asshole.
- 1:25:29Speaker 2: And you're not You're not being There's probably times that
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: you are being too self whatever, like like your boy
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: is soft. Now.
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: We all make mistakes and we don't do the right
- 1:25:39Speaker 3: thing and right situations. But it is good to know
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: that you do have that place in your head of like,
- 1:25:46Speaker 3: you know the limit of where it goes to you
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: and you have the ability to nip it in the
- 1:25:52Speaker 3: butt and be like, unacceptable, that's not happening. So what
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: I'm not worried for you, I guess is what I'm
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: trying to say.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: Yeah, more like more like creating a conversations, creating a dialogue.
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: It's yeah, creating a dialogue with the with the PT sick,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: with the PT sick goes out there with the parents
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: out there that could be going through the same stuff
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: and thinking all the same things that could absolutely have
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: all the same goals and same like practices and doubt
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: in those moments to where we're sharing, we're sharing experiences. Yeah,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: you're giving feedback, you.
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: Know what I mean?
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: I would say that what the reason you raise that
- 1:26:26Speaker 5: question and the reason you do this podcast is like
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: the ultimate side of there's a true intentionality there, and
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: that's something that I think probably that's the first step
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: of like you're already probably beaten out a lot of people.
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: I'm not saying it's a competition, but like the idea
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: that it matters enough to you that you put that
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: much thought into it and to really take time to
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: think about it and take a big step back.
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: Yeah, says a Ton. I hope it's all PT sixers
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: out there, baby.
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: Hey, and I I'm very excited to bring up my
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: in the trenches Okay, I'm very excited to see the
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: PT sixers in the comments and what they say about
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: that question that you propose, because I put on Twitter
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: my end the trenches is scar scars diaper situation. The
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: size ones are too small, the size did so you
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: put that out there, the size twos are too big.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: And I put out this tweet and it was one
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: of my very first tweets that I went past the
- 1:27:26Speaker 3: restricted amount of text. I wrote a book, and I
- 1:27:30Speaker 3: was legitimately like, this is not for likes or comments, like,
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: please tell me what people have done.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: And dude.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: PT six came in clunch there was like thirty replies,
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: and so, first off, a huge shout out to PT six,
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: And secondly, I came to Jill because of course Jill
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: and I are having this conversation. That's why I put
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: it on Twitter, because I'm like, Jill, we can't be
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: we use codery. I was like, we can't be doubling
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: up CODERI because one those diapers are all expensive and
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: two now they're going twice as fast because we're doubling
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: up coderies at nighttime. That can't be the solve, Like,
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: there's got to be something else. Put out that question resounding, Hey,
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: nighttime diapers, overnight diapers, overnight diapers, nighttime diapers, gotta do
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: a m surm use this company, blah blah blah. I
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: read those to Jill and it's already opening her mind
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: a little bit of like, yeah, we could do that, huh.
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: Blah blah blah. And I didn't say anything, but I
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: saw on her story this morning, on her Instagram story,
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: she had a looking to get some nighttime diapers? Does
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: anyone have brand recommendation? So Empty six and PT six
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: in my replies, thank you because you helped us like
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: move in a direction. I can't wait to see it fixed,
- 1:28:50Speaker 3: because I mean, Scarscar is sleeping great, but we're having
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: to wash these merlins every single morning because they're just
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: covered in bed. Yeah, she's wearing a diaper. How's this happening?
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Shoutout PAT six And by the way, BT six was
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: ready last week after we talked about the hater coming
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: after you? Yeah, yeah, yeah, honestly with the end within
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: an hour or two the episode dropping, people like, hey,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: reporting for duty, where's he at?
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: I found the comment. The guy's name was like David
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: Wee or David Way. I found the comment and I
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: wanted to do like a meme at it and stuff
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: for it.
- 1:29:24Speaker 2: I can't find it. Did he delete it? I looked
- 1:29:27Speaker 2: at it. He deleted it. Oh, he deleted it. He
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: deleted it before I could screenshot it. He backed off. Damn.
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: You know what that says? Though? I don't know. I
- 1:29:41Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Were you guys able to go back to that comment
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: whenever the podcast came out. My thought is people when
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: they listened to the episode or watched the episode, was
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: his comment?
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: This is before the episode dropped? He deted, real, I
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: remember I found the post. I'm like, this has the
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: post to look through gone?
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: Your comment's gone, his comments gone. And it happened before
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: the episode dropped. So even after our conversation, oh mind
- 1:30:07Speaker 4: it for the show gone either, he had a change
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: of heart.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: Yeah, because I'm thinking if I responded to him, eventually
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: other people would probably see it and go in and
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: maybe he's going back and forth with a couple people
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: to the point where it's like, I'm deleting this.
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: I found it.
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: I clicked on his profile and I too laughed because
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: this was right after we recorded Chef Nailed on the Head.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: His bio was legit like, hey, spread positivity because you
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: never know when your friend needs it the most, like
- 1:30:38Speaker 3: something like that. And we had a mutual on Instagram.
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: We had a mutual And it's a guy that I
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: know pretty well, and I kind of want to reach
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: out to him and be like, Yo, you know this guy.
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: We need to put them on notice for he's sick
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: salivating for a mission right now. This is your boy.
- 1:30:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and he would tell me too because I'm buddies
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: with them. It'd be funny. Yeah, I have a so
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: it wasn't a burner is the actual guy?
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: A I have a dad loss? My dad loss?
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: Is this sitting in the pocket as a dad and
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: your toddler. It's just all about want to know if
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: it's mom's turn to put her to bed?
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: You just take these hits, bro, where it's like, hey,
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: in front of me, Mama, is you're turn to do
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: bedtime tonight?
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: It's dad sair night, but I want you to do bedtime.
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: I'm just thinking, Yo, I'm standing right here.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: Bro, and to where it's like she has a couple
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: more things that goes beyond dad Dad, Like no, I
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: want Mama to do that.
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: No, I want mama to do this.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: And I'm just like all right, and Charles sees it
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: on my face like I'm not like wrecked in a
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: certain way. I'm just like she knows. I'm thinking like, dude,
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: come on, like give the old man some.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: Love, like your dad, like we're homees Bro, have you
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: ever seen like I don't just don't just come home,
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:32:02Speaker 5: I actually because I this is the one thing I
- 1:32:04Speaker 5: might have experience, And so I'm gonna jump in here.
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: Little kids and toddlers say some mean stuff they did
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: in front of you.
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: I was a I worked an after school program through
- 1:32:14Speaker 5: ymc A in Knoxville when I was in college, and
- 1:32:16Speaker 5: so I went to Rocky Hill Elementary every year or
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: every day when kids got out, for kids that parents
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: couldn't pick them up, or bus bus routes didn't get
- 1:32:24Speaker 5: to them, and man, not intentional, I would get little
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: eleanor sitting there, she goes, have you always had a
- 1:32:30Speaker 5: gap in your teeth?
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: Well? Retainer? Thank you? Parents told me the same thing
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: in seventh grade.
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: But anyway, I want too bad.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: Well, I think it's just they don't even know it's
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: a loss that a.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Dad feels in their body when there, when they're when
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: they're a little one, like you know, they have a
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: strong relationship with them, and it's like, yo, is it
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: Mom's turned to bed?
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: They like I did.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Bro, it's you know, I'm sitting here, I'm looking
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: at dad lost mom versus dad bedtime routines. Does your
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: child spawn differently when dad puts them down or versus
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: mom puts them down?
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: Like this, mom and dad have different bedtime.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: Because I'm thinking, Bro, we rip at bedtime, like we
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: have fun at bedtime Dad. Dad kind of sick with
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: it with the bedtime. Yeah, that is nasty with bedtime routine.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: Like we'll play games. I mixed up games.
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: Hey, let's race to the bathroom to brush our teeth sometimes,
- 1:33:24Speaker 3: daddad lets you skip a couple things.
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: Mom's out there listening right now, like what the oh
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: this is.
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: Why she brings up. Can I brush my teeth and
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: brush my hair in the morning? Yeah, because Dad's like, oh,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: you want to go to you want to fall asleep, Like, hey,
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: we gotta brush your hair and brush your teeth in
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: the morning.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: Now, we're's been asking me to read eight books at night.
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: H Yeah, this is something new we've been doing. I've
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: been reading eight you know, I do.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: See I'll lock her into two. She got me on
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: three the other night. But also, Bro, I get in
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: and lay in bed with her every night, like when
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: it's time, like when we hit the books on a
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: regular where it's you know, we'll read one book, then
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: brush your hair, brush your teeth. We'll get back in bed.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: We'll read another book. And then when it's time to
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: come off.
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: She knows this dadd dead as scratch my back, dadad
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: give me a massage.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: Like I lay in bed with her every time I
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: do bedtime. We switch every night and every time I'm
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: in bed with her and I'm scratching her back and
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: like rubbing her arm or giving her a massage every
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: night until it's like, you know, she's like tired. I
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: can tell, like rub her face and hair to her,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: she's like fall asleep, and I'm kind of like you know,
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: giving her giving her the handstroke on the.
- 1:34:29Speaker 2: Side of the head, and I'm like, all right, bedtime.
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: She gives me a hug, kiss, three squeezes, one two, three,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: I love you, and she'll like keep her eyes closed
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: through it, and she knows it's bedtime. She's asleep, she's
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: passed out. And then when Mom does bedtime. At the
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: end of every time Mom does bed it's like Dad
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: has it's Dad has got to come upstairs and do
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: the final put in the the last and fifter. I'm
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: the closer, Yeah, I'm the scratch the back closer, like
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: I'm scratching back every Now, I'm like, bro, we rip
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: at bedtime? Why is it always like you act like
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: I'm torturing you when I do bedtime?
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: Now I know the answer. She wants both of y'all
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: to do it. That's it. If you're going in there
- 1:35:06Speaker 3: every night, no matter what. She likes it when Charle
- 1:35:10Speaker 3: does it, because she's getting both parents. That's all it is.
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: You might be right.
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: It's not that you're she's not as good like because
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: she does.
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: That's the time.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: I'm like, I think in my head, like, bro, we
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: have fun at bedtime? Why is it always gonna be
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: Mama and you?
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: Kind of her her mom have.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Such a unique relationship to where it'll be like the
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: whining and argue to where Charles like, I don't see
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: why she's always wanting me to do bedtime all the time.
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: She certain wines with me, and she makes it hard
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: on me. All right, we might got it. We might
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: have don't know, might have gotten cut off there for
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: a second, soundboard crashed on us for a moment. All good, though,
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: We're getting into our hot We're getting into our our hotline.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Our voicemails this week six and one of the dads
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: if you want to call in and be featured on
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: the show. Yes, we do have a couple this week.
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: We're gonna hit the We're gonna hit a couple of voicemails.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: Maybe read you an email and get on way. We
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: gotta keep it under an hour. I think we're over now.
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: We gotta figure out a way to get it going
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: back under and we gotta yeah, we gotta get we
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: gotta get it going.
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: Gotta get it going six on one of the dad's
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: at gmail dot com too for our international listeners. Uh,
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: first comment or first sorry, call in.
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: What a gentleman from Meansfield, Texas, Busfield, Texas.
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: Uh not only eight months old?
- 1:36:32Speaker 7: Are calling this week?
- 1:36:35Speaker 6: But right before I'm making this, as I'm walking out
- 1:36:41Speaker 6: the door to go to work, open the door, take
- 1:36:47Speaker 6: a step outside, I hear the most beautiful thing olla.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: That was?
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: And I was like, what like that?
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: As I'm walking out the floor, first words and hunt.
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: That gasses me up. Thank you guys and just for
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: all all, oh.
- 1:37:16Speaker 6: Ho uh and just all have a ton of success
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: in doing this, and uh man, I'm forever grateful.
- 1:37:27Speaker 2: They shut out Isaiah from Texas.
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: Isaiah from Mansfield, Texas, Maysfield, Texas at that.
- 1:37:34Speaker 2: Very close sol does Texas.
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: Yeah, y'all ever play them? You to beat dead ass
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: just a little bit, just a little bit.
- 1:37:41Speaker 2: We like to have fun on the show. We like
- 1:37:42Speaker 2: have fun on the show. We beat your ass. But
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: we're just kidding.
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: We're hey, Isaiah, listen, I'm excited for the first words.
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: But we did back in the day.
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: I personally never played Mansfield, so I can't say I did.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: But Sherman, listen, did we go through this all the time?
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: Stay patient, stay in it, stay present. But the moment
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: you get the crawls, the moment you hear dead ad
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: for the first time, it is a joy and love
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: that is experienced where the whole parent's just telling people
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: who don't have parents. It's like, man, just wait till
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: you become a dad, or wait till you become a parent,
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: or it's like indescribable the feeling that you have because
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: you feel like you've you've you've tapped into like a
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: new feeling, a new like a secret soft sauce that
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: people can't experience until you experience it. Yeah, Like what
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: makes parenthood great because people see the chaos and everything
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: else and get the turn away from it, and it's
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: just like, man, it's moments like that that just feel
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: you with something different. They just can't describe. Shut Isaiah,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: thank you for the phone call, Bro, Thank.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: You for the phone call.
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: Isaiah very excited for Scarlet's first words. That's going to
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: be epic.
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: Ask me Ruth's first words. What were Ru's first words? Dad?
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: They asked me Scotty's first What were Scotty's first words? Dadda?
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: As Scarlet's first words, what's Scarlet's first words? Yeah?
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: Hopefully, yeah, hopeful, Hopefully it'll come. They say, the hard
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: consonants are better or easier than the soft one.
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: The tongue and the teeth come before the mama. Yeah. So,
- 1:39:19Speaker 2: and then you're sitting there hitting a.
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: Well, she's already kind of there because she spends most
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: of the day with her, and then when dad comes
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: home from word scarlets and that's it's a trust me.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: It's a tough gotta have the empathy. It's a tough
- 1:39:34Speaker 3: l for mom. It's a tough l. Shells like she
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: didn't do that all day for me because.
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: They like we just we know that moms they go
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: through it. They're in it a lot more than that.
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: That doesn't mean the dads don't have their own gritty work,
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: their own intention presence in the entire scheme of things.
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: But it's a tough l for mom swallowing when dad,
- 1:39:55Speaker 2: when dad, Dad gets the love.
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: And so I'm soft on it. I know I'm not
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: sitting there showboating doing anything when you know, I get
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: the smile. Scarlett had her first laugh yesterday, by the way, Start.
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: Getting on that changing table, start giving them the noises
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: they're telling me the tickle's going on. Oh yeah, bro,
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: yeah yeah, oh yeah, dude. The anticipation you create in
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: those moments when you start kind of tossing up a
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: little bit oh one, a two, just to kind of
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: see their smile because they know three is coming.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: They're about to get tossed in the air.
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: Scar and Jill. I will never toss Scarlet ever. No,
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: never tossed the babies around.
- 1:40:37Speaker 2: You tossed that little she already, Like when I lift here, yeah,
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: we're getting there.
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: Baby steps I tested out by instead of like throwing
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: them in the air. It's just like I'll go a
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: little faster, ascending in the air. Yeah yeah, But Scotty Versabik.
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: All right, you're not ready for the show yet, You're
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: not ready for prime time.
- 1:40:59Speaker 3: Okay, you can't handle this yet. Oh my god, we
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: have our second call in. Here we go.
- 1:41:08Speaker 5: What's up, boys, I'm currently on the way to the
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: hospital with my wife.
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: Say hey, why, I think she's in the middle of
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: a contraction right now.

- 1:41:48Speaker 2: she said, we gotta go. I don't even know what
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: to call it.
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: She's having something, she's feeling something in her stomach called
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: contractions or something like that.
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: I'm built for these trenches. I'm waiting. You guys are
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: the best dads ever.
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: You gotta make me the best, Hey, honey, say hey,
- 1:42:04Speaker 3: like truly, bro. The fact that she had a good
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: attitude about that is electric. Yeah, we got a high
- 1:42:11Speaker 3: from a mom in contractions.
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: Yeah, don't sleep on that. Don't sleep on that been

- 1:42:35Speaker 3: seems like a little roll tide roll to me. I
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: don't know.
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: You keep saying, you keep doubling down, tripling down, you
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: keep you could be insulting him.
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: He seems like.
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: A war even we'll cut this once he comments, but
- 1:42:46Speaker 3: he seems like a wardamn Eagle guy. Yeah, that's what

- 1:45:20Speaker 2: I can't imagine.
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: Honored that we're even a small little sivil sliver semblance
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: of y'all's experience of, you know, fighting cancer and coming
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: together as a family. And it's we're honored that we
- 1:45:34Speaker 3: even get to be a small little sliver of that.
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: That would be so hard to go through. Yeah, that'd
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: be so hard to go through for the dads, the boys.
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: We are all thinking about you guys. Absolutely, our heart
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: goes out to you both. Keep fighting. I'm hoping it's
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: all uphill. It's all optimism from here, but that is
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: it is tough.
- 1:45:54Speaker 3: They had it in quotations of time to kick cancer's ass.
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: So maybe that's a little mantra that I got going.
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: I'll time the kick cancers as come on, time the
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: kick cancers as I got one to hear from Ben Warring,
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: Ben Wearing Boys, longtime UK listener of Busting and day
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: one for the dads over in Liverpool, England.
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: Come on Liverpool, How sick is that?
- 1:46:19Speaker 3: Bro?
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: Liverpool, England? Day one for the Dads longtime listener Busting
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: with the Boys where the batoos are from the bay Oos.
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: Me and my wife have been trying to start a
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: family for a while now without success. We got checked
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: out a few years ago and realized that IVF was
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: our path.
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: To becoming a family.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: Our first round didn't work out, which left us at
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: the lowest point in both of our lives. Our second
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: round started the week before you released the IVF episode
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: with Will and Charrow And for those wondering listening who
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: might be taking that same route, My wife and I
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: did a Busting with the Boys podcast around Mother's Day
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: of this year. If you want to go back and
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: listen to that, I made my wife listen to it
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: and we both cried along together. Fast forward to now
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: and we are currently expecting our little girl do on
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: Super Bowls Sunday. My wife has taken the podcast as
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: our lucky charm and we can't wait for Wednesday to
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: roll around and we have another episode to listen.
- 1:47:14Speaker 2: To keep up.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: The great work, keep crying, and keep taking out the trash.
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: Trash cheers Ben dude. It fires me up that round
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: two worked out. And then for those that do struggle
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: with infertility and have used the the IVF method and
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: it doesn't work out, there are you know you think
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: about your story at times and how hard some of
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: these moments are that you go through Because at the
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: end of the day, all of our individual worst moments
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: is are are? They are our worst moments. They what
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: we have experienced the worst. When you begin to find
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: perspective and hear other people's stories, there are friends in
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: our circles, a friend in particular, who went through I
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: want to stay around five rounds of IVF before they
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: finally you know, struck lightning in a bottle and got lucky.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: But you know, I know Charo and I story in
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: our journey and how challenging it was in our world
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: and we were lucky enough to be successful on our
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: first try after trying for a while on baby number two.
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: But it fires me up the round two worked. I
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: can't imagine, you know, trying to start a family for
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: a while now to quote you without success. Got checked
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: out a few years ago going the path of IVF.
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: First round didn't work, which also at the lowest point
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: of both of our lives mentally, I can only imagine
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: how hard that was. But to see you guys, you know,
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: strike on round two and have baby girl coming on
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: Super Bowl Sunday, come on. Shout out to you both,
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: Ben and thank you for being a Tier one on
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: busting and being a Day one for the Dad's Listener.
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: Thank you for writing in and thank you for sharing.
- 1:48:49Speaker 3: I know that that's hard in five rounds let alone one.
- 1:48:54Speaker 3: That's awesome, dude.
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: It's so hard to when you think about it and
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: you hear all the stories and have perspectives of everybody else,
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: all the challenging things that people go through to have
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: a child, and then you think, like man, because rue,
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: it was like it was the first time and you
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: don't know, you don't It's like you take it for granted,
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: because then we try and having Scott and then we
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: had to go through the IVF process and everything else.
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: You kind of take for granted how lucky you are,
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: because when you're growing up, you just think, oh, it's
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: quite simple, how this process works. Yeah, one lear about
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: equals one plus one equals to and then you hear
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: all the stories and your friends going through stuff and
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: everything else, and then you just realize, like, oh damn,
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: like it is. It is tough to have a child
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: these days. It's a miracle when you do have a
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: when you do have a kid.
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I got another one.
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: Christian Mark Marquez wrote in Uh so, Christian said, I
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: want to preface this by letting you know that, well,
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: essentially he got the idea from the pod that he'll
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: be sending emails to himself as like a journal. Yeah,
- 1:49:57Speaker 3: it's a little bit. And so he to say thank
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: you guys for the idea. And then this is one
- 1:50:03Speaker 3: of his journal entries that he wanted to share with us.
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I want to preface this by letting you
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: know that I got this Google account idea from a
- 1:50:13Speaker 3: podcast I started listening to. Ironically a week before that
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: I found out I was going to be a dad.
- 1:50:20Speaker 3: The podcast is called for the dads, and they gave
- 1:50:22Speaker 3: this dad hack to leave you emails and messages about
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: the milestones you're going to experience in life. Shout out
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: to Fat Stafford and Willie Wanshelf in parentheses. You won't
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: get these references yet, but you will someday. Your mom
- 1:50:36Speaker 3: was so very excited to tell me that you were
- 1:50:38Speaker 3: coming into this world. I was coming home in the
- 1:50:40Speaker 3: evening from running extra track practices for some extra money.
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: She was sitting on the couch with a smile that
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: filled the whole room, and I went in to kiss
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: her and give her a hug. After a long day.
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: I noticed a basket filled with a positive pregnancy test,
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: a onesie that said newest recruit for Team Marquez, and
- 1:50:59Speaker 3: an I Love You Dad children's book, as well as
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: a dad hat. I was immediately excited. I knew from
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: that moment on that this life I live is much
- 1:51:10Speaker 3: bigger than myself. It opened my eyes to what truly matters,
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: faith and family. I now realize that everything I do
- 1:51:17Speaker 3: is for the greater good of our new found family.
- 1:51:20Speaker 3: I promise to always do right by your mom and you.
- 1:51:23Speaker 3: I have the privilege of being a father thanks to you.
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: This is an honor I will not take lightly. I
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: will raise you to withstand anything life throws your way
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: with your chest out, head held high, and feet anchored
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: in your disciplines. At that point, I didn't know you
- 1:51:40Speaker 3: were going to be a boy or a girl, but
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: I did note that you were going to be loved.
- 1:51:44Speaker 3: The world is changing rapidly and will continue to do so.
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: By the time you read this, in a world of
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: constant changes, I know you will be sure of one thing.
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: Mom and Dad love you. I can't wait until I
- 1:51:56Speaker 3: see your face and hold your little hands. You were
- 1:51:58Speaker 3: already are the biggest blessing in my life, second only
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: to your beautiful mother.
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: Love Dad. That's a teary eyed one. Yeah dude, that's good. Bro,
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: that's good. Who is that? Who wrote that? That was
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: from Christian Marquees Christian.
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, that's a good dad.
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: That uses me up.
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: I will not lie. I I read this before so
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: I would not cry on the podcast.
- 1:52:22Speaker 2: That phenomenal I turned up the first time I read it.
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: That's really good.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: Fire shout out Christian, and I know that like it's
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: fun for the new dads because there's a lot of
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: stuff that I'm sure I tell stories and you're like,
- 1:52:34Speaker 3: I've been there. I know what Sherman's feeling. But the
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: thought of like holding the hands for the first time,
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: and oh my god, it's just as good as like
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: you think it's gonna be. Just Scarlet this morning we
- 1:52:47Speaker 3: put her in her little king sized bed and she's
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: just gripping my finger. Yeah, sitting there going you're real
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: like you're here. Yeah, shout out you Christian, shout.
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: Out you Christian. Just imagine one day when.
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: The inevitable happens and they're an adult and they're reading.
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: That, Oh, that's gonna be so sick. Yeah, that is
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: really cool, man.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: I have one here from Logan Sullivan, Will Shurham chef
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: Derek Logan from Texas Here. I've been at Tier one
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: with Bust within the Boys for years now. Will and
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: I's fatherhood journey has always followed the same timeline, and
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: in April twenty twenty two.
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: We had our first child, a perfect baby girl.
- 1:53:29Speaker 1: Then two years later, my wife and I were expecting
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: our second child in August of twenty twenty four, which
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: I think is around the same time A Scottie sadly
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: tragedy struck and our second beautiful daughter was still born.
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: Oh fuck, it is a pain like I never thought
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: was imaginable, leaving a gaping hole in our hearts that will.
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: Buckle up.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: Fell listen, leap it a gaping hole in our hearts
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: that will never be filled. And now, as I was
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: listening to an episode a while back, Will brought up
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: Will brought up ruse imaginary friend Nelly, which is the
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: name of our second daughter who is now an angel.
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: Man, and it broke me to the core.
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: I'm a man of faith, and I think that God
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: brings people into your life for a reason if they
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: are at a distance and you watch them through a
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: screen or listen to them on a podcast. Man, but
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: we'll just know your daughter has our angel watching over.
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: It's been along hard road, but my wife and I
- 1:55:03Speaker 1: were just blessed with our third child in July this year.
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: So I'm now dead of two girls and one boy.
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: One just got to having a little sooner than we did.
- 1:55:14Speaker 2: Boys.
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: Don't ever let them moment slip by. In love with
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: everything you have. I thank you so much for what
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: you were doing with for the dads, and don't worry.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: I cry with you guys every week. Hashtag PD six
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: Fuck man Logan. Thank you. That's a really sweet note
- 1:55:36Speaker 2: from Logan.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's uh, it's fascinating how the world works and
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: just how the universe.
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: It's like, you know, when he talks about being on
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: a similar journey and.
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: Having kids, who are you know, around the same age,
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: And the second one came around when Scotty did, and
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: I a pain like I never thought was imaginable. Yeah,
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: I can't even you know, obviously we've experienced pain like
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: visually on this pot before when I talk about my mom,
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: and I know what that's like. And so it's like
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: I sit here and empathize and try to put myselves
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: in the shoes of a family that goes through something
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: like that, Like I'm just imagining that with my wife, and.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: To think like you came.
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: Across this podcast and just a story of the imaginary
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: friend of Nelly and no matter what, no matter, it
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: doesn't matter. But think in the universe is telling you
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: something that it's that it brings that thought to you. Yeah,
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: it is incredible, And I don't know, man, Logan, I
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: love you, brother, and thank you for sending that email
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: in and that was that was I was like reading
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: ahead when I was getting to the moments where I
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: was getting emotional, I'm like, god, I rarely read.
- 1:57:10Speaker 3: The the stuff before the episodes, but Derek showed me
- 1:57:16Speaker 3: that email and then that one before the episode, and
- 1:57:19Speaker 3: so as you're reading it, my heart was just gripping
- 1:57:23Speaker 3: because I was like, dude, that note from Logan was
- 1:57:26Speaker 3: like truly just a such a sweet, sweet note, Dude,
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: so much.
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: Like love to them and their family because moments like
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: that are special.
- 1:57:39Speaker 3: And Jill had a friend pass away that she was
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: very close with, and I forget the story with ladybugs,
- 1:57:48Speaker 3: but there was some kind of moment with her and
- 1:57:51Speaker 3: her friends with a ladybug and forever ladybugs are. Now
- 1:57:55Speaker 3: that's in Jay, you know. And I'll even say it
- 1:57:58Speaker 3: to Jill when like a late ladybug literally landed on
- 1:58:01Speaker 3: our windshield earlier this week and I made that.
- 1:58:07Speaker 2: I made that comment. And you know, it's like when
- 1:58:11Speaker 2: you experience like pain and loss, like.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: You just feel like you look around for anything, yeah,
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: that can help give you some closure, absolutely anything. Your
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: faith gets challenged, your faith maybe gets better, maybe your
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: faith gets worse.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: No matter what, you feel lost.
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: And you're just looking for something and to think that
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: just an episode of Imaginary Friend Nelly is something that
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: we can latch onto for pretty much ever, Right, Yeah,
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: I don't know. That's thank you for sharing, Logan. I'm
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: sure it was probably hard just typing that stuff up.
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: Man, We're very lucky the comments that we receive the show,
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: or the dms that we receive, whatever the case may be.
- 1:59:05Speaker 3: Just want to again, I know I've said this a
- 1:59:08Speaker 3: thousand times, thank you for sharing everyone that has ever
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: shared anything like that that hasn't been on the show.
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: It just means the world that people are opening up
- 1:59:18Speaker 3: like that and are sharing their deepest, you know, closest
- 1:59:24Speaker 3: to the vest like emotions.
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: It's it's probably therapeutic. It's probably therapeutic.
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: I know, I myself, I don't feel worthy of it,
- 1:59:33Speaker 3: but like I feel so blessed to read notes like that,
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: and it's just it's crazy. Yeah, it's crazy cool. Sorry, Yeah,
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: but love you guys. And also shout out Texas, Texas
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: kind of representing this week on the Collins and the
- 1:59:50Speaker 3: Ride ends.
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: Yeah, man, quote topic lesson Yes, what mine was this
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: week was essentially okay question for the audience, not necessarily
- 2:00:02Speaker 1: a lesson or anything of that nature.
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: Essentially a question something that I think about a lot.
- 2:00:10Speaker 2: But what is a value as a parent?
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: And if this is a clip right now, just know
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: my eyes are red because we cried on this episode.
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: What is a value that you What is a value
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: that you would love your child to carry with them
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: throughout their life?
- 2:00:30Speaker 2: That would be my question for everybody.
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: More more more of a I'll re see the question,
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: what is a value that you would love your child
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: to carry with them throughout their life? Uh? Because essentially
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: it's like we have we we go through like core
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: values with any team, any organization, any business. I know,
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: my wife and I we've sat down and done core
- 2:00:52Speaker 1: values with the family that I know we need to.
- 2:00:56Speaker 2: We we've made them. We made the core values.
- 2:00:59Speaker 1: Charle made them into the awesome like photos that we
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: can hang on the wall and stuff like that. But
- 2:01:04Speaker 1: it's nothing that we sit there and revisit and we
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: both know that you know, she'll she'll throw it on me.
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: And at the end of the day, there are things
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: that you need to revisit because values are basically the
- 2:01:13Speaker 1: foundation for how you show up to the world.
- 2:01:16Speaker 2: And so I think about that all the time with
- 2:01:17Speaker 2: like rue and like being a dad, And what.
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: Values do I want to instill in my kids and
- 2:01:20Speaker 1: how can I harness them in such a way to
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: where it's like repeatable, Not like I'm always looking for
- 2:01:25Speaker 1: new values. I'm always going to be and be curious
- 2:01:27Speaker 1: of everything else. But what are a couple of values
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: that I truly hope my kids represent throughout their life?
- 2:01:33Speaker 1: So I wanted to share that as a question so
- 2:01:34Speaker 1: that way we can all think on it. You guys
- 2:01:36Speaker 1: can chime in the comments, write up something if you like.
- 2:01:39Speaker 1: We'll read them on the episode. I would like to
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: marinate on a couple and then we can go through them.
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: We can go through them next week.
- 2:01:47Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 2:01:48Speaker 3: I just wrote it down on a card because I
- 2:01:51Speaker 3: I cannot wait for that.
- 2:01:53Speaker 2: Yeah, just come with one or two.
- 2:01:54Speaker 1: Obviously, there's there's gonna be a bunch that we hope
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: our kids represent.
- 2:01:57Speaker 3: Dude, that's gonna be sick because there's gonna be a
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: lot of submissions on that. Like, that's gonna be a
- 2:02:02Speaker 3: lot of fun to go through. I'm excited. I also
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: have a lesson of the week that's quick. I can
- 2:02:12Speaker 3: do it quick, bro. I wrote it in narrative form.
- 2:02:17Speaker 3: I'll go ahead and just punch it out. This week's
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: lesson of the Week from Sherman is block out the noise.
- 2:02:26Speaker 3: I have two dogs at home. Wriggly ar CHIWEENI a
- 2:02:30Speaker 3: wah wah wiener dog, and he is all but two
- 2:02:33Speaker 3: inches off the ground. Our second is a little schnauzerdoodle
- 2:02:36Speaker 3: named Goose. Wriggly needs a ramp in our house to
- 2:02:41Speaker 3: go up and down our stairs to our master bedroom
- 2:02:43Speaker 3: and then. Goose, on the other hand, has the speed
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: of an Italian greyhound and the buddy the bunnies of
- 2:02:50Speaker 3: Mac McClung. Shout out Mac McClung. He's one of the
- 2:02:54Speaker 3: most athletic dogs I've ever seen, and I grew up
- 2:02:57Speaker 3: around a lot of bird dogs, so I've seen some
- 2:03:00Speaker 3: athletic dogs in my day. On walks when I let
- 2:03:03Speaker 3: the dogs off their leash and a big grassy field,
- 2:03:06Speaker 3: Wriggly loves to go into bully alpha mode on Goose.
- 2:03:10Speaker 3: He goes up and barks right in his face, making
- 2:03:12Speaker 3: Goose wither up and fold. To Wriggly's assertive dominance, Goose
- 2:03:16Speaker 3: will try to run and have fun in the field
- 2:03:18Speaker 3: and show off his speed and his quick turns, but
- 2:03:21Speaker 3: slow little Wriggly will cut off goose Goose's tight turns
- 2:03:25Speaker 3: and angrily barking Goose's face. Jealous of Goose's speed, Goose
- 2:03:30Speaker 3: will immediately slow down again and hide and obey wriggly sparks.
- 2:03:34Speaker 3: But after two or three times of this happening, Goose
- 2:03:37Speaker 3: will suddenly remember that Wriggly is half his size and
- 2:03:40Speaker 3: needs a ramp to go up three measly steps of stairs,
- 2:03:44Speaker 3: and has triceratops elbows that don't allow him to go
- 2:03:47Speaker 3: above the speed of five miles per hour. When that
- 2:03:50Speaker 3: clicks in Goose's brain, he suddenly catches the second gear
- 2:03:53Speaker 3: to his already cheetah like speeds, and he will take
- 2:03:56Speaker 3: off like a bullet, running full speed for hundreds of yards,
- 2:04:00Speaker 3: rolling in the grass, cutting tight turns, and coming up
- 2:04:03Speaker 3: to his mom and dad, jumping almost to our shoulders
- 2:04:06Speaker 3: just to say hello with a big smile. All the
- 2:04:09Speaker 3: while Wrigley is left in the dust, barking and barking
- 2:04:12Speaker 3: and barking from further and further and further away, his
- 2:04:16Speaker 3: bark's growing more and more quiet. As the wind is
- 2:04:19Speaker 3: ripping through Goose's ears, the sun is shining on his
- 2:04:22Speaker 3: face and his mom and dad are shouting in the distance,
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: good boy, goosey. So just a reminder of I know
- 2:04:29Speaker 3: we brought up the comment the other day, which I
- 2:04:33Speaker 3: didn't take offense to it, but I did think to myself,
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: like that is a good reminder of like all the
- 2:04:39Speaker 3: positive stuff on this show that we talked through and
- 2:04:42Speaker 3: how much fun we have. A comment really doesn't like
- 2:04:47Speaker 3: that doesn't affect me because I'm so in this moment
- 2:04:52Speaker 3: and this isn't me defending myself. This is more of
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: like I kind of want other people to feel this way,
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: Like I just feel so in this moment and this
- 2:04:59Speaker 3: off unity that was presented to me, and like what
- 2:05:02Speaker 3: incredible thing the show is that Like that comment doesn't
- 2:05:07Speaker 3: really like stick, And I feel like there's so much
- 2:05:10Speaker 3: power in like not letting the noise get to you
- 2:05:16Speaker 3: and like being able to press on and press forward
- 2:05:19Speaker 3: you and continue to be you.
- 2:05:21Speaker 1: So much power in having your own power, yeah power,
- 2:05:26Speaker 1: and like taking your power yes, or so you are
- 2:05:28Speaker 1: caught up and it's just you know, hey, take back,
- 2:05:31Speaker 1: take back the power you have to block out, block
- 2:05:35Speaker 1: out the noise, yes.
- 2:05:37Speaker 3: Or allowing like just being in the mindset of like
- 2:05:41Speaker 3: even the like Fat Stafford comments, like I genuinely enjoy
- 2:05:45Speaker 3: those and like what a funny like fun thing that
- 2:05:48Speaker 3: has become. And I'm literally going to order a Rams
- 2:05:52Speaker 3: jersey probably later today and dress up as Fat Stafford
- 2:05:56Speaker 3: at this Zoot thing.
- 2:05:57Speaker 1: Like you're right, though, there's such a there's such a
- 2:05:59Speaker 1: power in feeling comfortable in moments where you can easily
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: feel embarrassed.
- 2:06:06Speaker 3: Yeah, and just lean into what you excel at too,
- 2:06:10Speaker 3: Like there's no better thing than why I know, I
- 2:06:13Speaker 3: use the metaphor of my dogs, but like watching Goose
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: rip like that is truly a sight to see.
- 2:06:19Speaker 2: It's like, what do you do?
- 2:06:20Speaker 3: Like this little JOWEENI yap and he can't even touch you,
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: Goose when you get to your full speed, he's nothing.
- 2:06:28Speaker 2: Go rib dog like you got it.
- 2:06:31Speaker 3: So I just wanted the viewers to hear that and
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: like whatever noise is got you feeling like this, dude,
- 2:06:38Speaker 3: just shut it out and move forward and be you
- 2:06:43Speaker 3: and excel and have your moment in a big grassy,
- 2:06:46Speaker 3: open field with embrace the fun.
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, embrace the fun for sure. Bro, Thank you.
- 2:06:52Speaker 2: I don't know how dad centric that is, but it
- 2:06:55Speaker 2: just kind of hit me, how could it be dad centric?
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: You are you writing that?
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: It shows how much you were in this certain moment
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: and how much it's like everything else didn't matter, but
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: you like watching your dogs and kind of writing that
- 2:07:13Speaker 1: stuff out. Or I feel like for dads or for parents,
- 2:07:16Speaker 1: there's so many stressors and things that go.
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: On outside of the house, and when you are.
- 2:07:20Speaker 1: At home, it's like being so present and in tune
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: that you have some descriptive kind of write up like
- 2:07:26Speaker 1: you just had, because you know, it kind of shows
- 2:07:29Speaker 1: that you are you are in that moment and whatever
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: the noise is was is not there. It doesn't matter. Yeah,
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: Like you being present in that moment is what it's about.
- 2:07:38Speaker 3: Dude, that's really good to you because I was not
- 2:07:40Speaker 3: coming from that either. Of like being able to shut
- 2:07:44Speaker 3: off other little parts of your life that might be
- 2:07:48Speaker 3: affecting you, but they're not there in that moment. That's
- 2:07:50Speaker 3: a dude, that's really good too, because I have struggled
- 2:07:55Speaker 3: with anxiety plenty of times. I mean that was a
- 2:07:58Speaker 3: crippling thing, like twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, and yeah, just
- 2:08:06Speaker 3: being able to like tell yourself, like, hey that is
- 2:08:10Speaker 3: that's not what is pertinent right now, it's not important.
- 2:08:14Speaker 3: And ninety percent of the time that anxiety or thought
- 2:08:16Speaker 3: that you're having isn't even true.
- 2:08:18Speaker 2: It's like an imagination. It's fake. You're making it up.
- 2:08:21Speaker 3: It's an assumption, and you're stealing on it and reumigating
- 2:08:25Speaker 3: on it, and like.
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: Just let it go.
- 2:08:27Speaker 3: It's okay, Like you don't. That's a good job on that, dude.
- 2:08:31Speaker 3: Look around and embrace the beautiful. Whether we were having
- 2:08:34Speaker 3: a Nashville, Tennessee.
- 2:08:35Speaker 1: Right, god, I hope everybody else experience is experiencing some
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: good foliage.
- 2:08:39Speaker 2: Yes, I know Nashville, Tennessee is at the moment. Oh yeah,
- 2:08:43Speaker 2: oh yeah.
