- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Tape where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts right now. Welcome back to the Theoretic
- 0:17presented by Chinook Cedery this episode 540.
- 0:20I'll be your host, Kyle Cord. I'm here with my Co host Nate
- 0:23Reyes. Nate.
- 0:25KC How are we? So I was thinking today, earlier
- 0:32today and I mentioned to you before we hopped on, I said I
- 0:35got something food related for you which I know you love.
- 0:38Always in on. You love talking food.
- 0:40I love talking food. I'd venture to say most people
- 0:43listening and or watching also enjoy talking food.
- 0:47My question for you. This is what I was thinking
- 0:50about earlier today. OK.
- 0:53This is a thought I had earlier today.
- 0:55This is sort of what I was thinking about.
- 0:59Just, you know, as I'm going about my day, this thought comes
- 1:02to me. Now count that.
- 1:03All right, No, here's really my thought.
- 1:06You know, the whole 999 challenge that you know, has
- 1:10seemingly become more more popular over the the last
- 1:13handful of years. Sure.
- 1:16I'm just going to go ahead and say typically I would say I'm
- 1:19not going to speak for you, but I think I'm going to go ahead
- 1:21and speak for you and say that neither of it or one, I don't
- 1:24drink beer, but two, for you, I don't think, I don't think
- 1:27you're doing this either. Is that safe to say?
- 1:30Very safe to say. No shot.
- 1:33Nate's doing the 999 challenge. I don't think I could have more
- 1:35than three hot dogs. And if you don't, if you if you
- 1:39don't know what the 999 challenge is, 9 hot dogs, 9
- 1:43beers in nine innings. Here's my thought.
- 1:48Here's my question. Is there something that you
- 1:53could substitute out for beer and hot dogs that you could do
- 1:59in nine innings? Sort of a little customization,
- 2:05but you're still doing a 999 challenge, just your version of
- 2:10it. Well I I do know 9 Doctor
- 2:12Peppers is absolutely in the cards for me.
- 2:18OK, that's a that's a good start.
- 2:20So 9 Doctor Peppers, what do you, what do you, what do you,
- 2:25you know, adding to the mix here in this 9 inning stretch?
- 2:31It's tough, man, It's tough. I don't, I don't know 'cause
- 2:35like what else out there is like the equivalent to a hot dog?
- 2:43It doesn't have to be an. Equivalent though.
- 2:46That's it. This is your exercise.
- 2:48Is this is this at the park or can I can I open it up to can I
- 2:54open up the realm? Be in the yeah, I mean in the
- 2:57park, but I mean or it could be something that maybe you fit 9
- 3:00in. I mean, just looking behind you
- 3:03here, behind myself, if you could fit nine of those single
- 3:08use Chinook seed bags in maybe maybe you count that that.
- 3:15'D be wild, I mean. You think there's anything in
- 3:19the ballpark you could eat 9 of in a nine inning regulation
- 3:23game? Cotton candies.
- 3:30I haven't had it in a long time, but I'd assume it's pretty
- 3:32light. Laura in the chat. 9 cokes, 9
- 3:35ice creams, 9 nachos. That 9 nachos is tough because
- 3:41like. Well, hold on, here's the thing.
- 3:42Jalapenos that and. Laura's adding a whole other
- 3:46layer to this because it's usually the the traditional 999
- 3:50challenges, 9 beers, 9 hot dogs, 9 Indians.
- 3:52She's going no, I'll take the 9 Cokes, 9 ice cream design
- 3:57nachos. I like cotton candy.
- 4:00That's a great, that's a good answer.
- 4:02It's light. It's light.
- 4:03That's a lot of sugar, though. Yeah, with.
- 4:07Doctor Peppers. Yeah, they might be diabetes by
- 4:10the end of the day, but it's doable.
- 4:12Sure sure, I do like nachos too. I don't know because like, I
- 4:20don't think burgers is a fair swap.
- 4:22Absolutely. I would take my chances with hot
- 4:24dog. I mean, I'd throw it by their
- 4:26way. Can we find uncrustables
- 4:28somewhere in the park? Now that's, that's the move.
- 4:33Nine Doctor Peppers, 9 Uncrustables and 9 innings.
- 4:37I could do that. You could try that from home.
- 4:39I could do that. You could swing that from home.
- 4:41You don't need to be at the ballpark.
- 4:43I I could do that. I've got.
- 4:47I've got that in me for sure. I'll give you the out too.
- 4:50I want I want you to try that and I'll give you the out of
- 4:53diet doctor Peppers so that you're not actually getting
- 4:56doctor. Taste.
- 4:56I don't like taste, all right? Well, then we'll we'll run our
- 4:59risk with the with the blood sugar.
- 5:01But I want you to the. Doctor Bill I.
- 5:03Want you to give it a shot. All right, I like that.
- 5:06Uncrustables, Dr. Pepper and a nine inning regulation game.
- 5:11I'm about it. Yeah.
- 5:15You said you had some you had You said you had something food
- 5:18related for us. Before we get in the ball, talk
- 5:20I. Mean I think it's just a a very
- 5:27budget friendly order we're recording late on a Thursday
- 5:32daddy hasn't eaten yet wife is at a happy hour with a
- 5:37girlfriend hey, what if we swing through McDonald's on the way
- 5:43home and here's why it's a reasonable question I'm.
- 5:48Tired of the shaming of McDonald's, by the way.
- 5:50Like every two every now and then.
- 5:52Like, relax, people. Yeah.
- 5:57OK, so here's the here's the key.
- 5:59OK, you can get like a $5 meal and you get a Mcdouble, small
- 6:06fry, four piece Mcnugget and a small drink. 5 bucks.
- 6:12Yep, hit me with two of those, one with the Mcdouble, one with
- 6:16the spicy Mcchicken. 10 bucks. I mean for that quantity.
- 6:25I, I mean, I, I feel like you'd you'd be one of those would be
- 6:29sufficient, but you know, I to each the.
- 6:31One, I've found that 1 1/2 is about right.
- 6:35So what we do is we get 3 jackpot Bingo and we share it.
- 6:44So you're welcome secrets out. You don't have to go there and
- 6:48it costs $18.00 anymore. It is absurd.
- 6:51What? That's why you got to use the
- 6:53app, the McDonald's apps where you get all the savings.
- 6:57I'm here to save you you. Are a big app guy.
- 7:00King of the coupon you are. Let's talk ball.
- 7:05Is that why we're here? Yeah, I think, well, you know, I
- 7:10think we just need to, we need to cut the cord and just go all
- 7:15in on the food podcast that I mean, we're, we've been teasing
- 7:19that for years at this point. I mean, we could talk like.
- 7:24Just know it so well, food. At the ballpark if we really
- 7:28wanted to incorporate baseball into it, but at the end of the
- 7:31day, I think I think we just need to go all in on the food
- 7:34podcast. Nonetheless though, we're going
- 7:38to talk ball tonight. And Nate, let me just remind you
- 7:42that we have essentially arrived at the end of May, which I think
- 7:48I think we can all agree as baseball fans, we as a result
- 7:54are now upon June. I think we can all agree there.
- 7:57And with that knowledge, I think we can also state the obvious in
- 8:05that now that we are in the month of June, we can no longer
- 8:10in our discourse about the happenings in Major League
- 8:13Baseball or with our respective. Filler words tonight.
- 8:17With our respective favorite team, we can no longer say that
- 8:21it's early. We are now a third of the way
- 8:24through the season. I did the math myself.
- 8:27I. Don't think I like hearing that
- 8:29out loud. Does that not?
- 8:31That doesn't make you feel good. Does it sit well?
- 8:34We're 1/3 of the way through the season.
- 8:35Many teams are. What did I say?
- 8:39What was the math I was doing? I think a majority of teams have
- 8:42played 55 ish, give or take. Yeah, 50, yeah, we'll just call
- 8:47it 55. I'm seeing that's sort of the
- 8:49average around the league. 55 games, third away, third of the
- 8:53way through the season. It's no longer early and we are
- 8:57going to talk about the league that coming into the season, I
- 9:00don't think many people really knew what was going to happen.
- 9:05And I think we're still at a point in the year only being a
- 9:09third of the way through where I don't think we've gotten much
- 9:12clarity on what exactly is going to happen.
- 9:14But we have a third of the season's worth to talk about
- 9:18with the American League. So Nate, let's dive into the
- 9:21American League. What's happening around the the
- 9:24American League? What's jumping out at you?
- 9:27What's sticking out to you? What's disappointing you?
- 9:30How? Much it stinks how underwhelming
- 9:34it is. But we it, that can be, that can
- 9:39be an observation, but that can be an observation.
- 9:43But it can't it. That doesn't mean it has to be a
- 9:46surprise. We knew that it was going to be
- 9:48underwhelming. But you're saying not not to
- 9:51this level? Not to this low, not to this
- 9:54low. I mean this is what is it.
- 9:56About it. That's that's throwing you off.
- 10:02There's, there's just teams that I, I had better expectations
- 10:07for. There's teams that I don't think
- 10:12are as bad as their record says. But then when you watch them and
- 10:18you look at the stats, you're like, that's pretty bad.
- 10:21You know what I mean? Like if if you were to tell me,
- 10:27if you were to talk to somebody that hasn't watched baseball all
- 10:30this season, hasn't watched a single pitch and you just went
- 10:35through some teams that are under 500, you'd be like, no
- 10:40way. I get that they're they didn't
- 10:43have the best offseason. I get that they are in a weaker
- 10:48league and or Division I, I get this, I get that.
- 10:52But there's no way. You look at these teams and
- 10:54you're just like, how? How are you weighing down the
- 10:58league this bad? I've got a nugget for you, a
- 11:05team that I think falls in that category, the Baltimore Orioles.
- 11:08And I don't want to pick on the Orioles too much.
- 11:10We've taken our shots in the in the in the recent days, recent
- 11:13weeks. But a team that you thought, how
- 11:17in the world could you be weighing down this league,
- 11:21specifically the American League, so bad in my Boston Red
- 11:26Sox? Another one.
- 11:28And looking at the Baltimore Orioles at night, currently
- 11:31sitting at 19 and 3616 games back of the division, it's not
- 11:38even June 16 games back in the division.
- 11:43My aforementioned Red Sox are closer to the Baltimore Orioles
- 11:49than they are to the New York Yankees.
- 11:54The 4th place Boston Red Sox, who I'm not going to call him
- 11:58dead just yet, but who many, myself included, had them making
- 12:03a run in the postseason, possibly winning the division,
- 12:07possibly even ending up in the World Series.
- 12:09And again, a lackluster American League, are currently closer to
- 12:15the Baltimore Orioles, who by the way, only have one more win
- 12:21in the win column than the Chicago White Sox, who need I
- 12:25remind you we're the worst team in baseball last season.
- 12:29What is happening in the American League right now?
- 12:35And then your your point last, what was it last episode about
- 12:38the the Yankees somehow being better?
- 12:43I don't think you were. I think I.
- 12:45Wasn't in that camp before the season.
- 12:47No, but I think when I heard that, I think I sort of you
- 12:53scoffed. I scoffed and what felt like for
- 12:56good reason. But then I'm I'm digging around
- 12:59a little bit and I'm like hold, hold the phone.
- 13:02Is there something here? Nine and one in their last 10
- 13:07and then I'm digging around your point about them not necessarily
- 13:10needing the home run them manufacturing runs.
- 13:13I'm sitting there watching the game that they played who who'd
- 13:17they play last night. The Angels.
- 13:19I think they swept the angels doing exactly what you're
- 13:22saying. I'm like, OK, maybe this team,
- 13:25whether or not they're they're going to be better is we'll
- 13:27we'll see. But they're definitely, they
- 13:29definitely have a different identity than they did last year
- 13:32leading. All the baseball and run
- 13:33differential. It's crazy, man, It's crazy.
- 13:39And then let's. Sizeable lead in that category.
- 13:42Not that we have to leave the American League East right away,
- 13:44but in just just talking initial reactions here, the American
- 13:48League Central has four teams, the only division of baseball
- 13:51right now with 3030 plus wins. I love that.
- 13:55I'm a big fan of this. I like looking at it.
- 13:59You know when you just pull up the standings and you're and
- 14:01you're checking stuff out? I like looking at it.
- 14:05I like that they're all good at home.
- 14:10I like that they're, I mean, on average around 500 on the road.
- 14:19I like that we haven't seen the best out of the Royals yet and
- 14:23they're in fourth place. I don't think we've seen the
- 14:27Royals yet. I don't think they're there yet.
- 14:33Well, like I said, we're we're knocking on the door of June.
- 14:36So we're going to be past the point of being like, well, it's
- 14:40still early. Like at some point sooner or
- 14:43later we're going to have to start talking about the Royals
- 14:45maybe being a team. That's only not to say they
- 14:48they're not, they're incapable of going on a run, but maybe we
- 14:53have to look elsewhere in the division for a, for a, for a
- 14:58team to crown down down the road.
- 14:59Because I mean, I'll tell you what, this Tigers team, we
- 15:02talked about him a little bit last episode with Tarek Skubal
- 15:05and, and, and everything he's doing in that offense.
- 15:07Like my goodness, I, I don't think the most.
- 15:12Wins in baseball, man, that's. The best team in baseball.
- 15:14Yeah, I mean, that's that's what I'm talking about.
- 15:16This American League makes no sense.
- 15:18I mean, the Tigers being good I think was predictable, but I I
- 15:23don't think now a third of the way through the season, I don't
- 15:26know if I had them pegged as the best team in not just the
- 15:28American League, but all of baseball.
- 15:32And I don't feel like the Twins or Guardians are even playing
- 15:35that bad of all. They're hanging around, they're
- 15:41hanging around. They would be the tide for first
- 15:48in the West and they'd be healthily in second place in the
- 15:53East. You know, that's a good
- 15:57division. Also, I'm I'm holding on to
- 16:02receipts on the Guardians, by the way.
- 16:05Oh please, please, please expand.
- 16:08Please share. I'm holding on to receipts
- 16:10because I recall in a group chat that a lot of people were out on
- 16:17the Guardians and they said that they weren't very good.
- 16:20I I believe we were talking over unders and we're talking overall
- 16:25win total this year, which before the season was 82 1/2.
- 16:31And I said I was hammering that over.
- 16:36I'm not sitting here saying they're going to win the
- 16:39division, but I think it's this is for the forming.
- 16:45I think they could definitely sneak into a walk.
- 16:48This is for the Guardians or for the OK.
- 16:51I was holding on to that. I'm holding on to those
- 16:53receipts. For a second I thought you were
- 16:55talking about the Mariners, the American League West leading
- 16:58Seattle Mariners. True, true.
- 17:01No, I'm with you, though. I mean, that's I, I, I do
- 17:04recall, I, I do declare that you, you were not wanting to
- 17:10sleep on the Guardians. Fair enough.
- 17:13I mean, I'm not standing up. I'm not standing up, but I'm
- 17:17like. You're not going to die on that
- 17:18hill. I'm laying there with my eyes
- 17:21open. I'm not sleeping well laying
- 17:23there. I mean, you're going to have to
- 17:27say you're well, that sounds a little bit like riding the fence
- 17:30because you're saying I'm not going to I'm not going to die on
- 17:33the hill of the Cleveland Guardians.
- 17:34But on the in the same breath saying I'm keeping receipts.
- 17:36Watch your watch your mouth. I'm.
- 17:38Keeping receipts on the wind total.
- 17:41But I don't want this to be misconstrued.
- 17:43I don't want to. I don't want this to be digested
- 17:47as if Nate is calling calling the guardians the best team in
- 17:53in the AL. That's not what I'm trying to
- 17:55say. But 82 1/2 was AI think a bit of
- 17:58a a disgrace. I think that was a bad line.
- 18:02I think that was a smack in the face.
- 18:04Was it though? Because I think you and I both,
- 18:07I mean, I don't remember how you, how you had the Central
- 18:10finishing out. I had the Royals winning the
- 18:12division. And if I recall, did you have
- 18:15the Tigers winning the division? No, the Guardians.
- 18:18Oh, you did OK, so they're OK. So I stand corrected.
- 18:22By the Guardians, Royals, Tigers finishing third all the way by
- 18:27by the way, these win totals are crazy, 82 1/2 for the Guards, 82
- 18:331/2 for the Royals, 83 1/2 for the Tigers, 83 1/2 for the
- 18:37Twins. We're looking at potential overs
- 18:41for all of them. Suck on that.
- 18:44I would. Love, I would love and I may
- 18:49change my mind about this tomorrow, but in this moment,
- 18:52that's what I'm. Saying I'm not willing to like.
- 18:54In this moment where I sit right now on May 29th at 10:12 PM
- 19:01Eastern Standard Time, it's late.
- 19:04I, I'm, I want, I want 3 American League Central teams in
- 19:10there. I want 3 American League Central
- 19:13teams because, because I can tell you what my age, I don't
- 19:17know how many times how many more times I can go to bat for
- 19:20you this year. Yeah, I'd, I don't know how much
- 19:29more I can defend you guys. You're, you're, you're, you're
- 19:32falling on your face. You're 1 and 9 in your last 10.
- 19:36You lost three. You're you've currently lost
- 19:39three straight. You've given up 336 runs, which
- 19:47is second worst to the Rockies, who may as well have already
- 19:56given up 600 runs this year. So if the, if this is what the
- 20:03A's are going to be, and I know I've joked a bit, said like
- 20:06well. Suck at home so bad.
- 20:08What's that about? Severino was on to something.
- 20:14You know, if this is, if this is like, well, no, what I was
- 20:17saying is, you know, I I joke around that while the A's just
- 20:20giving the league a head start so they can they can respond
- 20:25with a triumphant it's. A bit of a yoke.
- 20:28Bounce back into a wild card spot this.
- 20:32I don't think this is a team that's capable of doing that and
- 20:35it's disappointing me them. In the wild card.
- 20:38Though I did on hot takes, did I not?
- 20:40I'm like 90% sure. I feel like you've been like no,
- 20:44I would wrongly I would have had.
- 20:48No, I definitely put. I definitely put them in.
- 20:54Come on now, You got me second guessed myself.
- 20:55I definitely. I've been.
- 20:56I've been banging the drum all season.
- 21:00Here we go, 2025 picks. Yeah, they're my final wild card
- 21:03spot. That is crazy.
- 21:05That's a well. Did you get a little caught up
- 21:08in like the hot? The hotness of hot takes you
- 21:12feel looking back? No, I, I had my reasons.
- 21:18I had my reasons and I stood. I stood on that ground and
- 21:22they're just crumbling before our eyes.
- 21:26But I'm not giving up on games. They look, they look good.
- 21:29I, I they look bad. You know what?
- 21:32You know what's crazy? You can go ahead.
- 21:33And laugh all you want the the, excuse me, the Sacramento Las
- 21:38Vegas A's. They're in last place, but
- 21:43they're only 8 1/2 games back in the division.
- 21:45The Red Sox are 9 1/2 games back in their division.
- 21:49So who's laughing? Now.
- 21:52Who's got a better shot at making the post season as of
- 21:55today? Math would tell you the A's.
- 22:00Let's revisit the East real quick.
- 22:02Putting a putting a bow on this Yankees.
- 22:05Talk to me about your Yankees. Is this I mean, I, I know it's
- 22:12early technically still and I know that I said we can't stay
- 22:17early for much longer. Once it hits June, that's out
- 22:20the window. So technically it's still early,
- 22:25but is this the Yankees division this year?
- 22:30I think Cashman has to have a really good deadline.
- 22:34What? Well, tell talk to me about what
- 22:36weaknesses you're seeing because the best run differential run
- 22:40differential in baseball, they're like you said, they're
- 22:43manufacturing. They're not necessarily having
- 22:45to rely on on on hot streaks from from power bats.
- 22:49Yeah, they're playing better defense.
- 22:50They're they lack righties in their lineup.
- 22:56They lack anybody outside of judge from the right side and
- 23:01and Goldie like there's there's just not a lot of depth.
- 23:04They really don't take advantage of lefties the way they should.
- 23:10And what's weird is that like in years past that they've been
- 23:12like too righty heavy. So maybe Stanton coming back
- 23:16helps that. But like there's like this kind
- 23:19of like a little bit of a log jam DH when he comes back
- 23:24because like Rice is hitting enough to get his fair shake.
- 23:31But obviously like Goldie is at 1st and really good defensively.
- 23:35So like, I don't, I don't know what that looks like.
- 23:40They're forcing DJ Lemahieu right now.
- 23:42I think he gets DFA Ed long before the deadline.
- 23:46At this rate, I think Lemahieu is dead in the water.
- 23:49He looks awful. So I don't know, there's no
- 23:55third baseman on the on the market that they can go and get.
- 24:00Chances are they're going to have to look at second base.
- 24:03So that means Jazz is probably going to move to 3rd.
- 24:06That's what I saw today, yeah. So it's like it's stuff like
- 24:11that. And then I I am hesitant on
- 24:17Carlos Rodon. I know he looks really good so
- 24:19far this year. I just you're.
- 24:22Waiting for the shoe to drop. I kind of am, yeah.
- 24:26I kind of AM kind of waiting for for some people to come back
- 24:32down to earth to like Trent Grisham's been nice.
- 24:35This has been fun. But I you're not a you're not a
- 24:402 hole hitter every day. And that's kind of what Boone is
- 24:44throwing out there. But I don't know that the rest
- 24:48of the division just doesn't look tough enough.
- 24:50I do think that, like the Rays front loading all of their home
- 24:54games right now because of trying to avoid rain late in the
- 24:58season, I think that's going to kind of bring them back down a
- 25:04little bit. I could see the Red Sox like
- 25:11playing well enough to creep back up into like a second spot.
- 25:16But yeah, I kind of feel like the Yankees already have this
- 25:19division. I'm going to clip that one.
- 25:23Yeah, I'm going to clip that one.
- 25:27You brought it up. That's fair.
- 25:29Putting a bow on this question for you.
- 25:33Give me ignore, ignore standings, ignore win loss
- 25:39records. OK, give me your top two teams
- 25:46that aren't currently division leading teams that you're going
- 25:51to be excited about most slash have your eye on the most moving
- 25:57forward now that we're 1/3 of the way through the season.
- 26:00Non division leading teams in the American Leagues.
- 26:08Can. I say, can I say why?
- 26:10Like it doesn't have to be a positive thing.
- 26:13I'm just going to have my eyes on them.
- 26:14Yeah, it. Doesn't matter where they're at
- 26:15in their respective division standings, just two teams that
- 26:19you're going to have your eye on.
- 26:21One bad team I'm going to have my eyes on the Rangers because I
- 26:24think that they have a lot of guys that they can sell off if
- 26:30they don't figure it out. I think they could have a pretty
- 26:32big seller's deadline. You think the you think the
- 26:37Mariners? Names to impact like I I could
- 26:41see degrom pitching in the playoffs wearing a different
- 26:43uniform. I could see E of ALDI.
- 26:49Wearing a different uniform? Yeah, Get let's get the socks
- 26:53hot and bring, bring our son back home.
- 26:55We need to bring him back home. I could see I could see some of
- 27:00these names, you know, Jake Berger, like I, I could see some
- 27:02of these guys going and being, but like Jake Burger is one of
- 27:06those, no disrespect. Hey, say it.
- 27:09Hey. No disrespect, you just shrugged
- 27:11it when I said Jake Burger so you have to follow it up and no
- 27:14disrespect, hey. Yeah, I'm in Jake Burger.
- 27:16No disrespect bro. Pops 2530 home runs, man like
- 27:21that's that's a a a beneficial piece somewhere.
- 27:29So I have my eyes on them just because I think that they could
- 27:33really like they have pieces on their Ross.
- 27:35So it could really impact some buyers if they don't start
- 27:41figuring it out, which is a really big disappointment
- 27:43because coming into the season, like I think everyone that had
- 27:46their head on straight was looking at that lineup and was
- 27:48excited so. Correct me if I'm wrong.
- 27:52I had them annoying. Did I had them in the World
- 27:55Series, did I not? Yo, yeah, sure did.
- 27:59This could be your worst prediction.
- 28:03Had them win in the West. Why had them win in the West?
- 28:07And in the World Series, yeah, crazy.
- 28:09All right, Other team, Rangers and who?
- 28:11And then we're moving on. Royals.
- 28:14Royals because I think they're really good.
- 28:17And you? Think there's something you
- 28:20think they're just brewing. They're just.
- 28:22I think that, yeah, it's just like a volcano, just like, hey,
- 28:26there's stuff that's going on in there.
- 28:28It could blow, they could pop off and you're responsible for
- 28:37so many. Bro real quick on the volcano,
- 28:41have you seen this? Not the like name drop products
- 28:46here but did you see this whole I think it's like the Google AI
- 28:50video stuff. No.
- 28:53They were. It's called like VO3 or
- 28:55something. Anyway, I saw a video the other
- 28:59day where it was like this AI video and I, I mean, I could
- 29:04kind of tell it was AI. That's the scary part.
- 29:08That's what's. Scary and it's I've.
- 29:09I've got an eye for this stuff because I, I mean, social media
- 29:12is literally my job. So I'm seeing like these fakes
- 29:14and not fakes like all the time. But this new thing they came out
- 29:17with crazy. And there was a video of a guy
- 29:19where he's like and for he was pretending.
- 29:21The video was pretending as if the guy was a was an influencer
- 29:25and he had a YouTube channel and the video was all right, guys,
- 29:29for today's like reckless stunt, I'm going to be the first
- 29:32influencer to jump into an active volcano and a guy just
- 29:36turns around and jumps in the volcano and I'm like, there's
- 29:40there's like a 60 year old out there right now that's sending
- 29:44this to every member of their family saying 100.
- 29:47Percent fully falling for it look.
- 29:49At what's happening to our youths.
- 29:52Yeah, the freaking youths. Crazy.
- 29:55So that's all I was saying about.
- 29:57You mentioned a volcano, that made me think of that.
- 30:00Tricky. Yeah, Royals, just because I
- 30:03think pitching is really good. Well, we know that they.
- 30:08Just need a couple bats, bro. Just need a couple bats.
- 30:11Get it? Get some support.
- 30:13Also, Bobby Witt, our guy, Bobby Witt, he's having a good year.
- 30:18But I'm going to need, I'm going to need.
- 30:20I'm going to. Need.
- 30:20Yeah, I'm. Going to need a little more
- 30:22juice from our from our our guy Bobby Witt.
- 30:25Yeah, he's we. Know what he's capable of.
- 30:28He know we know what's in there. We talked about our boy Jack
- 30:31coming up too. Get our guy Jack up there.
- 30:34Yeah, and there could be some could be some pieces that they
- 30:38had. So same thing with the Orioles,
- 30:41you know what I mean? Like those are, those are like
- 30:43there's some names on there, some impact names that are going
- 30:46to be up for grabs at the deadline that say, hey, I'm
- 30:49going to buy low on this cat. I don't know if they'll pop off.
- 30:52At some point for some team, you're talking.
- 30:54About the Orioles selling off, yeah, I don't I think the
- 30:58Orioles are allergic to making transactions, whether it's
- 31:01adding or subtracting. I they just say these are the
- 31:05guys we've got and this is who is on our team and we're not
- 31:11going to change that they're. Probably not wrong.
- 31:15Cedric Mullins hitting a post season home run for the Kansas
- 31:18City Royals. I've seen Cedric.
- 31:20I've seen Cedric to the Phils floating around a little bit.
- 31:23That'd be. Tight.
- 31:24I like that more. I like that more.
- 31:28Ryan o'hearn is he? OK, I keep saying last thing
- 31:34true last thing on this whole AL talk I heard on the broadcast, I
- 31:41guess it would have been yesterday somebody said that
- 31:43he's going to be like the the hottest or like most sought
- 31:49after bat at the deadline. I'm like, is this really no hey,
- 31:54no disrespect, Ryan, no disrespect obviously, but this
- 31:59is this is what we have to look forward to at the deadline is
- 32:01Ryan o'hearn again, no disrespect.
- 32:06Want to want to want to really emphasize that really drive that
- 32:09home, but I. Mean, I brought up Jake Burger
- 32:11earlier so I don't really have a ton of room to talk but.
- 32:15No, but I mean, this is like what?
- 32:16What's being floated around out? There impact arms that are
- 32:21available at the deadline than bats.
- 32:24I I guess, I guess Speaking of arms, Bryce Harper got hit in
- 32:33his the other day and didn't didn't look like it.
- 32:38It felt very good. By the way, did he play in
- 32:41tonight's game? I don't think he did.
- 32:43They had a doubleheader today, didn't they?
- 32:45They. Sure did he sat either.
- 32:47Well that's what I'm checking to see.
- 32:48He sat out Well they lost by 6 so I'm guessing not because if
- 32:54he was in there today he would have my young, my young Prince
- 32:59Bryce would have won him the game.
- 33:03Can. I just find a box score man,
- 33:05like, holy cow, everything but the lineup.
- 33:10Yeah, my young my my young Prince Bryce was not in the game
- 33:14tonight. So that's that explains it.
- 33:17But yeah, he Spencer Strider comes up and in on him and it's
- 33:24all sorts of nonsense about well, he came in on him
- 33:27intentionally, folks. This was his, correct me if I'm
- 33:33wrong, third start of the season.
- 33:36Yeah. You don't think Spencer
- 33:38Strider's still trying to iron some things out?
- 33:41You think in his third start of the season he is going to put
- 33:44himself in a position to possibly get ejected from a game
- 33:48going after a guy who, like I've said before, has matured well
- 33:54beyond his years? This is not the Bryce Harper of
- 33:56old. So what reason would Spencer
- 33:59Strider have for coming after Bryce Harper?
- 34:02I don't know, he's pretty adamant in his post game
- 34:08comments that like Bryce is one of the best players in the game.
- 34:13Why would I do that? He said he is my king.
- 34:19Yeah. I wish he was on our team.
- 34:21Something like that. He's.
- 34:22Better than he's, better than anybody we have.
- 34:26Side note, I'm going to expose the line up, I'm going to expose
- 34:28the group chat a little bit is do other people out there think
- 34:33Spencer Schreider's little corny, the little little bit of
- 34:36an odd duck? Is that a thing I.
- 34:39Think he marches to the beat of his own drum, but I don't know
- 34:42if I'd go as far. I mean, there's why.
- 34:44Am I? Why is this a narrative that I
- 34:45haven't heard? I.
- 34:46Haven't, I haven't really heard it either.
- 34:48I mean, there's you want it. There's plenty of other examples
- 34:50of corniness in baseball. Plenty.
- 34:53You don't even have to look outside of the division.
- 34:55You don't. That's a that's a good starting
- 34:58point. But yeah, this narrative is new
- 35:03to me. But no, this, this whole, this
- 35:06whole Spencer Schreider Harper thing was a big nothing burger.
- 35:11Also side note on this, when when Bryce got hit, I don't know
- 35:16if you heard the broadcast, John Crook was like, oh, and that
- 35:19surgically repaired elbow also, I don't think that.
- 35:26Plays a factor well, it's worth noting.
- 35:29I don't think it plays a factor. Yeah, maybe not.
- 35:31I mean, it just depends on where you get hit because they talk
- 35:34about it all the time. When you get hit and you're not
- 35:36wearing an elbow guard, they say you just hope to get hit on the
- 35:38on that, on that. Fatty.
- 35:41That's fatty stuff. I don't think he's ever really
- 35:43had an elbow guard, has he? Shin guard?
- 35:47I know shin guard for sure. Philly fanatic.
- 35:51He's also worn long sleeves for like the last I don't.
- 35:58Know 3. Or four years.
- 36:00Interesting point. Does he?
- 36:01Think that works the same as a noble guard I.
- 36:04Don't know. He also occasionally will go no
- 36:08no BGS. He he broke that out in the game
- 36:10the other day, got a hit. I got to be honest, I used to
- 36:13love to do that as a player. That was fun.
- 36:16Just kind of frees you up a little bit mentally, physically.
- 36:19Yeah, I'm. Oh, for my last 30, I'm taking
- 36:24these batting gloves off. I'm rubbing my hands in the
- 36:27dirt. I'm choking up.
- 36:28I'm going to slap something to the right side.
- 36:30Slap. This the other way every time,
- 36:34every time I'm. Going to buy myself a little
- 36:37bloop over the first base. Where you.
- 36:39Go Yeah. 100. Percent yeah that's that's a
- 36:44fair question the chat at what point are we getting extreme on
- 36:46all these guards to your point we've.
- 36:48Crossed that point man last. Last episode was it you were
- 36:52talking about Acuna's. It was a knee guard I don't
- 36:55think I've ever seen. Guard guy, I don't.
- 36:57Think I've ever. He's covered.
- 36:59That's knee carry toe. It's too much.
- 37:03That's great. Well, I mean, if there's a guy
- 37:05that was going to do it that that would probably feel a need
- 37:08to do it, it would be Acuna. I wonder if you were to ask
- 37:11Hakuni, like who his favorite player was growing up and I bet
- 37:14he would say like Johannes Cespedes, you know?
- 37:18He'd probably tell you like a like a transformer name or
- 37:23something. Yeah.
- 37:24Think that's what he's trying. Think that's what he's really
- 37:26going for. Or like Bionicle.
- 37:28You remember Bionicle back in the day?
- 37:31I remember. Come on, I know you know
- 37:34Bionicle. I don't bro.
- 37:39I. Remember Barnacle Boy?
- 37:43That is definitely not the same dude.
- 37:45You know Bionicles they came in like these came in these tubes.
- 37:52I. Mean we're on the screen.
- 37:53I gotcha, here we go. If you're listening, I'm sorry
- 37:56and this is a good reason to check out.
- 37:58Check out YouTube here. We go.
- 38:00That's the reason to just check out.
- 38:02We haven't talked baseball in a while, Talking toys.
- 38:06What is this movie? You don't remember these
- 38:09bionicles? That's a nostalgic pick right
- 38:12there. Do you?
- 38:12Remember these now I remember. Those cup things, yeah, yeah.
- 38:15Like the two, the plastic tubes they came in these things I
- 38:17don't. Think I ever really had the
- 38:18patience to build one of those? Nor did I, and I don't.
- 38:21I never really played with them, but I at least I wasn't.
- 38:23I wasn't a Lego guy either. I.
- 38:25Knew of them. Yeah, all right.
- 38:28I recall. Oh, it is Lego.
- 38:29Look at the bottom. The bottom.
- 38:31Yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 38:31Sorry. I thought that.
- 38:32I thought you knew that part. Yeah.
- 38:34Lego Bionicle Lego set. Yeah, How about that?
- 38:38But yeah, that's essentially you watch Star Wars at home and you
- 38:44like it. Relax.
- 38:46Relax. Sure.
- 38:48Did Luke Skywalker's my guy? Acuna is bionicle.
- 38:52That's you just. Watched baseball documentaries
- 38:54since the age of three, I. Sure did.
- 38:58I sure did. Yeah.
- 39:00So the whole Spencer. Ted Williams hitting videos at 3
- 39:04S. The science of hitting.
- 39:07I'm sitting there taking notes on my Etch A Sketch.
- 39:11No last, last thing on the the Harper thing.
- 39:18Actually, no, I'm done. He's.
- 39:19Tough man. He got hit in the face not too
- 39:22long ago and got right back up. Have you see, I told you about
- 39:25that video, by the way, where it had like, Bryce Harper and
- 39:28LeBron side by side, like LeBron flopping and Bryce Harper taking
- 39:32a fastball to the face. And it started a timer of who
- 39:35got off the ground first. And Bryce Harper was up like,
- 39:41oh. 2 minutes before. I.
- 39:43I'm not even surprised. That's still hilarious, though.
- 39:47That's I. That's too good.
- 39:51But yeah, Spencer said. He's not.
- 39:53I'm not a complete sociopath. I have some empathy.
- 39:56Harper should be back any day. So yeah, this is a big, big.
- 39:59Nothing. I don't need this.
- 40:00I need spice. This is a rivalry, just like
- 40:04what happened. Oh well, Speaking of that,
- 40:07Speaking of our young like. Get off my plate.
- 40:10Speaking of our come in, yeah. Speaking of our young Prince
- 40:13Bryce Orlando Arcia got DFA the other day.
- 40:17That's I just wanted to put that out there and got picked up by
- 40:20the juggernaut Colorado Rockies. So good for Orlando Garcia.
- 40:25Glad to see the trajectory of his career has really just taken
- 40:29off anyway, those opportunities. Speaking of a guy whose career
- 40:35might take off, Alexis Diaz was traded to the Dodgers, so he
- 40:38might be getting a ring this year.
- 40:41That news broke today. Annoying.
- 40:43I'm so annoyed I. Mean when you saw the name
- 40:49Alexis Diaz pop up, you saw traded and you see dodgers, how
- 40:55surprised can you really be, especially when you take into
- 40:58account look like let me check here, but Tanner Scott has not
- 41:05been looking all that sharp. But I want to confirm.
- 41:09I don't want to you know, no disrespect.
- 41:11I don't want to no. Disrespect I.
- 41:13Don't want to misspeak. I don't want to talk down on the
- 41:15man's name. He's got a family after all.
- 41:18But yeah, he's Sanders. Guy has not been looking good
- 41:21this year. He's got a 462A WHIP of 111 O
- 41:27and one on the year. He's got 10 saves, 4 holds.
- 41:31But yeah, he's had some freaking stinker outings the last the
- 41:37last week. Or we can change in fact
- 41:42yesterday. Really like that teams are
- 41:49willing to do like a buy low trade way before the deadline.
- 41:56I'd like it, you say. OK.
- 41:58You said you like it. I like because it's like, let's
- 42:01try and buy low, see what we can squeeze out of this guy.
- 42:04Maybe we're geniuses and then maybe it gets the deadline and
- 42:09we're like, yeah, that guy stunk, Whatever, no harm, no
- 42:12foul, you know what I mean? They've obviously seen something
- 42:17in him in the past. I mean, he was he was good with
- 42:20Cincinnati a few years ago. Last year was a clunker. 2023,
- 42:25yeah. This year is obviously to a
- 42:27rough start. I believe he's a free agent in
- 42:30our fantasy league and he has totaled like -5 points on the
- 42:33year. But we'll see.
- 42:37I don't know, put him in a six inning role and put him in a
- 42:40bullpen with a ton of other dudes that just are dudes.
- 42:45See what happens if nothing happens?
- 42:47Whatever, who cares? And let me just say, like, I'm
- 42:51not saying that. I'm not suggesting that this is
- 42:53the Dodgers attempt it or it's not their fix for the way Tanner
- 42:57Scott's been pitching necessarily, but it's another
- 42:59option for them to entertain considering they already have
- 43:02like, a dozen. Yeah.
- 43:06So that's that. Closers, like I bet if we were
- 43:10to look up the number of guys that had saves in the year 2023,
- 43:18there's probably like 7 or 8 of them that are now Dodgers.
- 43:27Let's just say bet. I think that's a good line.
- 43:31I'll put it at 6 1/2 and I'll I'll let you take the over or
- 43:37the under. Dustin May.
- 43:44Can we say he had saves at any point in 2023?
- 43:49No, he would have been he would have been in the rotation with
- 43:51him, right. Or was he was that the year he
- 43:53was out I'm. Going to look my way, you look
- 43:55your way. 2023, now he was there.
- 44:04Had no saves in 2023. I don't.
- 44:07I don't need to go through the whole bullpen, but Lou Trevino
- 44:12definitely had saves, right? What I had, yeah, definitely had
- 44:17saves in 2023. OK, I found it.
- 44:23Wait, I'm. Not going through this whole,
- 44:26I'm not going through this whole stuff.
- 44:27Oh, I'm, I'm going to. OK, so Lexus DS Lou Trevino
- 44:31didn't pitch 7 saves in 2023. Yeah.
- 44:35I'll start a year. Lou Trevino did not pitch in
- 44:382023, so he's out. OK, OK.
- 44:43Are we really doing this right now?
- 44:45I'm. Just curious.
- 44:47Evan Phillips, he's on the list. Yeah, Alex.
- 44:55Vessia, I mean, he was on the team, but.
- 44:58On the list? Tanner, Scott.
- 45:01Right, Alex Vessia was. That 3?
- 45:05Well, I don't know. Did Alex?
- 45:06Vessy have stats or saves in 2023?
- 45:09I don't. Even know if he if he did his
- 45:11thing back then. He had one save.
- 45:13Count it, Count it. Brusader, brusader Graderol.
- 45:17That's 5. Bruised R Graderol.
- 45:24Kirby Yates That's six would. You put it 5 1/2.
- 45:32No 6 1/2. One more did you already say
- 45:37Taylor Scott? Yeah, I already said Tanner
- 45:41Scott. All right.
- 45:44Well, somewhere on their IL I'm sure you've got.
- 45:49I need this now. We're right there.
- 45:50Oh. My gosh.
- 45:55I need it. I'm trying to remember their
- 46:00rest of their bullpen. We had a names.
- 46:03Trying to see who's on their IL. They've got like a whole staff
- 46:06on their IL. That's true.
- 46:08Oh, Blake Trinen. Did you say Blake Trinen?
- 46:10No, I didn't 7 boom Michael Kopek way over.
- 46:17Smash the over. That's huge.
- 46:20That's huge. That's a great.
- 46:22Point or a great that was a. That was a fun fact.
- 46:26That was a fun little stat. Fun stat is what I was going
- 46:29for. Yep.
- 46:30All right, let's talk, let's talk, let's talk.
- 46:35Credit Saya Suzuki, our first recipient of this week's credit
- 46:42cannon. Saya Suzuki hitting 380 with
- 46:49four homers, 17 ribbies and an OPS of 1233 over the last 15
- 46:55days. The first player wow the first
- 46:59player to reach 50 RBIs this season and shot bro this stat.
- 47:07What you got for me? Has left 103 runners on base
- 47:12this year. What?
- 47:15Which surprisingly is the 11th most in baseball and still Saya
- 47:20Suzuki. He's left 100 and a. 103 runners
- 47:24on base this year and still leads the league in RB is but
- 47:28it's. Still only in 11th place for
- 47:30that stat. Who's first Which?
- 47:32Is crazy pulled up? That'd be great.
- 47:42I don't even know how I'd find that.
- 47:45How'd you find him? It was just a stat that I saw.
- 47:47I saw it that I came across. You're just.
- 47:50Willy nilly reading out stats. Well, I mean it helps when the
- 47:53guy in front of you is hitting the way he's hitting.
- 47:56It has a 388 on base and then he in half has a 347 on base, you
- 48:03know. Oh, here we go.
- 48:06You. Know the Cubs are.
- 48:09Oh, here we go. Nolan Arenado and Vinny
- 48:12Pasquantino. Wait a minute.
- 48:18Didn't. OK.
- 48:22Yeah, 112. Nolan. 112 for those two, but
- 48:30still, the fact that he's leading the league in RB is
- 48:32means he's still capitalizing enough to make a difference.
- 48:35And boy, has he been going off these last two weeks.
- 48:38That's right. That's right.
- 48:40Brandon Lau is hitting 385, five points higher than, say, Suzuki
- 48:49over that 15 day stretch. He's hitting 385 with six
- 48:52homers, 10 ribbies, and an OPS of 12/26 in that span.
- 48:57He is currently riding an 11 game hitting streak for the
- 49:01second place Tampa Bay Rays. And pretty sure I just saw a hit
- 49:06moments ago. So make it 12 for Brandon Lau.
- 49:11Good to see. It's good to see because like it
- 49:14was a couple years ago where everyone was like, oh, this guy
- 49:16can hit and then it was like a couple years of like poop.
- 49:20Yeah, No, no poop for Brandon. Well, I'm sure he's, I'm sure
- 49:24he's regular, but you know, in terms of statistical output, no
- 49:28poop. Still hitting only 250 by the
- 49:30way. Well, you know, you got to start
- 49:33somewhere and he's hitting 385 over the last two weeks, so good
- 49:36for good. For you somewhere bad?
- 49:38No, it's good. No poop, No poop for Brandon
- 49:43Lau. Noah Cameron of the Kansas City
- 49:50Royals has made four starts in his young career, according to
- 49:58Optus Stats. Noah Cameron of the Royals is
- 50:00the second left-hander in MLB is a modern era to pitch at least
- 50:04six Indians while allowing no more than one run in each of his
- 50:07first four career starts. The other was in 1981.
- 50:14Fernando Valenzuela. So good cover for Noah Cameron.
- 50:19I've heard of them as mentioned in that nugget from Optus Stats
- 50:236 Plus and each of his four, he's logged outings of 6.1.
- 50:29Nah, I'm not going to say 6.1. That's just what it says. 6 and
- 50:32a third, six and a third, six and two thirds, 6 and a third.
- 50:36I'm just reading what I'm seeing on the screen.
- 50:38Relax. 6.1. And 16 strikeouts across those
- 50:47four starts. So he's he's getting out via
- 50:52contact and making it work. Nice, love to see it Royals
- 51:00pitching. Royals pitching as.
- 51:03Good as certain. Next up, one of Nate's
- 51:08favorites, Robbie Ray on the most punchable.
- 51:15Face well. You going?
- 51:19To take it back. Well, I mean, just because he's
- 51:22pitching well over the last. Awesome.
- 51:26Month or two doesn't change that fact.
- 51:30Robbie Ray, since April 26, is 4 and O with an ERA of 162 and 44
- 51:37strikeouts and six starts. Robbie Ray.
- 51:41Going back to that April 26th mark, he's logged outings of
- 51:46seven innings, 7 innings, 6 innings, 6 innings, 7 innings, 6
- 51:49innings. Which maybe to you doesn't sound
- 51:53all that impressive, but in an age where OK, Nate's pulling up
- 51:59his headshot. And.
- 52:03It's super washed out, so just take our word for it you.
- 52:07Still want to punch it? No, I thought we we're out of
- 52:12the punchable face thing. I didn't agree to that.
- 52:17Yo, you, you definitely said that.
- 52:18You said let's walk that back. And now it's becoming like the
- 52:21the inconvenience thing, like the Super major inconvenience.
- 52:25You know what I'm talking about. Like the the.
- 52:27The condiment pack. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:30Opening wrong. Yeah, Yeah, I know what you
- 52:35mean. I I think that I think that.
- 52:40Robbie Ray, as good as he's pitching, still deserves to have
- 52:45his towel damp every time he gets out of the shower.
- 52:49Talk about an inconvenience with like a slight mildewy smell that
- 52:53sticks on you when you dry off. That's no fun.
- 52:56That's the worst. In the chat someone's wondering
- 53:00when is the modern era that began the start of the modern
- 53:04era great question is marked by the year 1901 on.
- 53:10Great question, SO. Going back 124 years, yes.
- 53:20So Robbie Ray has been exceptional going back to April
- 53:2426th, really on the season he's been he's been pitching very
- 53:26well. But going back to that, call it
- 53:30a month, we'll call it a month plus been pitching very well.
- 53:34Another arm that's been looking very good.
- 53:37Bang Bang. Bang, Joe Ryan, did I get you
- 53:51with that last one? I saw you jump up a little bit.
- 53:54No, I said bang right when you did it, so I was correct.
- 53:58You were wrong. Whatever you say guy, whatever
- 54:01you say. Joe Ryan going back to April
- 54:0427th, not 26th like Robbie Ray. April 27th is 4 and O with an
- 54:14ERA of 15-O and 44 strikeouts in six starts.
- 54:19Eerily similar numbers to Robbie Ray's during that span on the
- 54:23season. Joe Ryan has accumulated a WAR
- 54:28thus far. AB WAR of 2.15 and two on the
- 54:32year, an ERA of 257 and a WHIP of .82. 5.
- 54:39With 72 strikeouts. Real good man.
- 54:43Strikeout numbers looking looking very good thus far going
- 54:48back to that April 27th mark when he made his seven inning
- 54:51start against the Angels, the Los Angeles, CA Angels of
- 54:55Anaheim, LA, Orange County, West Coast, West Coast California.
- 55:02He had 11 strikeouts and then 8 strikeouts, 7 strikeouts, 9
- 55:07strikeouts and then 4 strikeouts, 5 strikeouts.
- 55:10But those two, those last two outings were against the
- 55:12Guardians and Rays who have been playing good ball.
- 55:14So little bit of a understanding there.
- 55:18But Joe Ryan, congratulations on your debut.
- 55:21To the critic Cannon, Robbie Ray, don't care whatever.
- 55:25Actually, all these guys, all these guys making their debut,
- 55:29but Robbie Ray. Look at us, whatever.
- 55:32Spreading the love. Closing the book here.
- 55:39Close it. Renault Blanco of the Houston
- 55:43Astros set to have TJ and will be out for the remainder of the
- 55:512025 season. Tough man.
- 55:57I mean, you hate to see any guy like that go down, but that's.
- 56:00Innings, you know that's. No, no.
- 56:02Yeah, 100 and 4000. And 50 that's.
- 56:04Fair. That's fair.
- 56:05Because I was going to say in terms of quality, I don't know
- 56:07what you'd be getting from him the rest of the year anyway
- 56:09because he wasn't off to that great of a start.
- 56:11But at the end of the day, innings are important, are
- 56:15valuable. Those are important.
- 56:17Yeah, they're going to have to find that elsewhere, so I'm
- 56:18curious to see what they use. Had him on the Fantasy squad for
- 56:25a little bit. I think I shopped him around.
- 56:27No one, no one wanted to bite. Now would be the time that you
- 56:32try to shop him around and try to fleece somebody.
- 56:35That's how you trade man. Just.
- 56:38Just own it, still haven't won the league so that's fair.
- 56:45That's. Fair lastly here.
- 56:47AJ Smith. Shalver yo, you never like to
- 56:53hear about a guy feeling a pop. You don't when today just.
- 56:59One thing and one thing only. Happened today in his start
- 57:04against the fighting. Feels not good bro they just.
- 57:13Do they? What's going on?
- 57:15Put him on the 15 day IL if I'm not mistaken, and presumably
- 57:20will require a longer time than that if not the rest of the
- 57:22year. Wrong with.
- 57:23The what's in the water I don't. Know it's.
- 57:28Injury galore. All the time.
- 57:34All the time. Someone's getting hurt down
- 57:36there. When was the last time their
- 57:38whole roster was ready to go? I don't know the answer to your
- 57:45question. It's too bad.
- 57:46I too am curious. Yeah, go Phil's.
- 57:52Go Phils. Go Phils.
- 57:57Tough. I'm not proud of myself for
- 57:58picking the Braves to win the division, but.
- 58:01Did I? What can you do?
- 58:05I don't remember any of my picks.
- 58:06It's clear that I don't really stand firm on anything.
- 58:10You picked the Phils out of the East.
- 58:12You had the Phils. Honestly, Nate, I'm going to
- 58:14give you some credit here. You had to.
- 58:16You had to. Well, well, the AO E is.
- 58:20No, no, no. I was just going to say the
- 58:21National League, you had the Phils, Cubs and D backs, but
- 58:24then I completely forgot that we'd had that whole saga with
- 58:27you picking the D backs to win the West, which I mean.
- 58:31That was hot. That was it's.
- 58:32Hot and it I mean as of right now, it's not like there's still
- 58:36time, but I think if we're going.
- 58:42I had the Rockies and Marlins in the right spot, so.
- 58:47I think if I think if you were to grade our National League
- 58:50picks, you know, showing some love to the National League, we
- 58:52went heavy on the AL earlier. I think if you were to grade our
- 58:55National League picks, I'm probably passing with the
- 58:58slightly higher score 'cause I feel like, well, just from like
- 59:03appearance to sake, I'm not saying, you know, I'm not
- 59:05talking like win totals at the end of it all.
- 59:07But like, if you if you saw my pics of the Braves, Cubs and
- 59:10Dodgers, you're going OK Yeah, not terribly spicy, but you're
- 59:15going Phil's Cubs, D backs. You know, we'll revisit this as
- 59:19we always do, and we'll recap and we'll bring out receipts.
- 59:26So we'll see. We'll see.
- 59:36And we'll see. We'll see you guys early next
- 59:41week. Yeah, be on another wedding this
- 59:46weekend. Good one guy.
- 59:48No I'm hanging up many friends. Majority of these aren't my
- 59:57friends. It's it's it's hers.
- 1:00:03Shill bro. No, I'm laying low this weekend
- 1:00:08as as I know for now. That may change, I don't know.
- 1:00:13Good for you, you need it. That's funny though, because you
- 1:00:17were calling me out for being the least travelled person out
- 1:00:20there. So I don't which is a guy.
- 1:00:22Am I gone every weekend or am I? Am I uncultured, untraveled.
- 1:00:26What? I mean, what is it?
- 1:00:28Well, I mean, it's just rinse, repeat on those places, you
- 1:00:31know? I like what I like.
- 1:00:34What can I say? I.
- 1:00:35Don't blame you, I don't blame you.
- 1:00:37My butt's getting in a pool this weekend for sure.
- 1:00:40Shout out to all the pools man. Yeah, big time.
- 1:00:43No disrespect to the indoor pools, but it's time for the
- 1:00:46outdoor pools to really shine. I mean.
- 1:00:48A massive disrespect to the indoor pools.
- 1:00:50Let's be real, that's. Fair.
- 1:00:51Massive disrespect to the indoor.
- 1:00:53Pools What? That stinks there.
- 1:00:59I mean, there's. They're there for us at our
- 1:01:01lowest point when we've got seasonal depressed, well, you
- 1:01:03don't get seasonal depression. But out here on the East Coast,
- 1:01:05when it's. I beg to differ because snowy
- 1:01:09and Gray for the 800th straight day, an inward pool actually
- 1:01:13sounds nice. I.
- 1:01:15Think there's like an opposite depression because it's so hot
- 1:01:17that when I like, I just come home and everything's sweaty.
- 1:01:24There's a level of depression there.
- 1:01:26You stink every day. I smell every day.
- 1:01:30I get to I get to shower all the time.
- 1:01:32Have you seen that video that's been floating around where it's
- 1:01:34like we're getting to that point of the year where the sun starts
- 1:01:36to sound like this and it's some guy playing the harmonica.
- 1:01:40You, you go out, you look up at the sky and it's just sweltering
- 1:01:45at like 9:00 AM. We're we're quickly approaching
- 1:01:48that point. Well, you're already there.
- 1:01:49But we're we're there. That's why I'm getting in the
- 1:01:51pool. Shout out to the pools.
- 1:01:54Yeah. Dog out.
- 1:01:59Cool. We'll see.
- 1:02:00You guys have a great weekend. It's tough today, super out of
- 1:02:06pocket today. I hear pots and pans.
- 1:02:08She says she's picking up dinner, but that's a no Mickey
- 1:02:11D's still hearing pots and pans every time.
- 1:02:15Maybe. She's heating it up.
- 1:02:16I don't know. Every time we.
- 1:02:18Have been talking for a long time.
- 1:02:20Maybe she's heating it up in the oven or something, who knows.
- 1:02:22I got a. Text saying I'm picking up
- 1:02:23dinner, see you soon. Pots and pans.
- 1:02:30Unbelievable. I'm curious.
- 1:02:32You're going to have to let me know I.
- 1:02:34Will honestly I'm going to riot if it's not McDonald's so I'm
- 1:02:37looking. Forward to seeing a picture of a
- 1:02:39McDonald's hamburger in a lasagna tray in the in the oven
- 1:02:44she. Suggested salmon burgers and I
- 1:02:46was like no, absolutely not, I need something real.
- 1:02:52Well, that's. McDonald's isn't the answer.
- 1:02:56You bite your tongue, Sir. I.
- 1:02:58Love McDonald's but you you can't say I need something real
- 1:03:01and then give me McDonald's issue sure I.
- 1:03:04Can I? I meant like real for my soul,
- 1:03:06not real for my body. Fair.
- 1:03:09We need some connected. Yeah.
- 1:03:12Souls far more important. All right, we're getting super
- 1:03:15meta now. Let's let's wrap this up.
- 1:03:17What's that mean? I don't know, I just like using
- 1:03:21fancy, fancy words, fancy phrases, whatever.
- 1:03:25Dude, this was a mid podcast. This is a great this is a
- 1:03:29banger. Dude.
- 1:03:30Our our end of week pods are like you said, pretty, pretty
- 1:03:33out of pocket, man. We're we're looking forward to
- 1:03:35the weekend. So have a great weekend.
- 1:03:37Enjoy Friday, which is basically the weekend.
- 1:03:42If you see a curveball, don't chase it.
- 1:03:50Your turn. We love you all and as always,
- 1:03:52looking forward to talking more baseball with you guys soon.
- 1:03:54Until next time, stay filthy.
