- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm not certain if you guys are aware of this.
- 0:24Speaker 1: In fact, I have a small fact of the day
- 0:26Speaker 1: for you. Are you guys aware the World Series is
- 0:29Speaker 1: starting tonight?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Oh, of course. I'm locked in to this World Series.
- 0:35Speaker 1: The World Series starts tonight, Mikey. I know the Yankees
- 0:37Speaker 1: aren't in it. But the Rays are, and they're taking
- 0:40Speaker 1: on the Milwaukee Brewers. There's a World Series happening, and
- 0:43Speaker 1: it kicks off tonight.
- 0:45Speaker 2: How about that?
- 0:46Speaker 3: Let's go, Brew Crew.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yes, we will get to the World Series in a second.
- 0:49Speaker 1: We have Christopher Mad Dog Russo, who is going to
- 0:52Speaker 1: join us Monday or Tuesday of next week. We have
- 0:56Speaker 1: him being disrespected. We have Sam for that. And we
- 0:59Speaker 1: have a stooge out to the day that is World
- 1:00Speaker 1: Series related. But first, I want to discuss Mikey and
- 1:04Speaker 1: what's going on with this one guy he has on
- 1:07Speaker 1: his bowling team. It's, you know, everyone has this person.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I think most people have this person in their life
- 1:13Speaker 1: where the person is just so good looking that it
- 1:16Speaker 1: doesn't matter if they're a bad bowler or not. Everyone
- 1:21Speaker 1: is attracted to this person. There is nothing this person
- 1:23Speaker 1: could do to embarrass himself because at the end of
- 1:26Speaker 1: the day, he's the best looking guy in the room.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Is that fair, Mikey?
- 1:30Speaker 3: It's it's beyond fair.
- 1:32Speaker 4: And and he just keeps he just keeps doubling down
- 1:35Speaker 4: and taking everything from me.
- 1:37Speaker 3: And he's not even trying.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Like I said, week one, you know, this guy walked in.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I was king of the bowling alley week one.
- 1:46Speaker 3: He walks in. Nobody knows me. Right. I'm like, you
- 1:48Speaker 3: know what? I'm funnier than this guy.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:52Speaker 4: I'm smarter than this guy. And I'm a better bowler
- 1:55Speaker 4: than this guy.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Two weeks go by. He buys himself a new ball.
- 2:00Speaker 3: He goes practicing.
- 2:01Speaker 4: He copies my signature move.
- 2:03Speaker 3: And I got to tell you, he's a better bowler
- 2:05Speaker 3: than me. So all I got now. Because I'm funnier
- 2:09Speaker 3: than this guy.
- 2:10Speaker 2: That's it. We're not even certain of that.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I mean, I guarantee you the crowds laugh harder at
- 2:14Speaker 1: his jokes than they do at yours.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I mean, just because he's good looking.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but they fake laugh. And it's the women and
- 2:20Speaker 3: some men. Yes. What do you got, Taylor?
- 2:22Speaker 5: Stu, does it bother you that he refuses to show
- 2:24Speaker 5: us what this guy looks like?
- 2:25Speaker 1: No, what bothers me is that he refers to himself
- 2:28Speaker 1: as king of the alley. Who anointed you the king
- 2:30Speaker 1: of the alley?
- 2:31Speaker 2: I mean. I did. I walked.
- 2:33Speaker 4: I owned that place. We all have a room we
- 2:36Speaker 4: walk into and we own it. For you, it's Radio Row.
- 2:40Speaker 4: You walk into Radio Row and you own that room.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's mine.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I walk into a bowling alley. I own that room. Yes. Okay.
- 2:46Speaker 3: That's just the way it is.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:49Speaker 3: So now he's a better bowler than me.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:52Speaker 4: But I'm like, all right, I'm still holding on. So
- 2:54Speaker 4: I have a shirt I wear every week to bowl. Mm-hmm.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It's got a stupid bowling pun on it, but nobody
- 3:02Speaker 4: who bowls doesn't look at it and laugh.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Right. Or say, I love that shirt. Where'd you get
- 3:07Speaker 3: that shirt? I want that shirt.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 3:10Speaker 3: So this week, I get up there.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's warm-ups.
- 3:16Speaker 4: It's cold out, so everybody's wearing a sweater. I got
- 3:18Speaker 4: my shirt on. I roll, nail a strike, turn around.
- 3:24Speaker 3: This mother is wearing... The shirt.
- 3:28Speaker 2: A tighter one.
- 3:29Speaker 6: He is wearing the same damn shirt. The entire team
- 3:37Speaker 6: bought the shirt to wear it so it's like our
- 3:39Speaker 6: team uniform.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:43Speaker 4: And he looks so fucking good in this shirt that
- 3:47Speaker 4: I almost took mine off and just said, I'm done.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I quit.
- 3:51Speaker 2: I give up. He's going to start using your joke soon.
- 3:55Speaker 3: It's one of my jokes. It says the shirt says
- 3:58Speaker 3: tucking fen pin.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Because everybody hates the fucking 10.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I get it. Yes.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Not that funny of a shirt.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Really not. Yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 1: But when he was in bowling circles, it's huge. Or
- 4:10Speaker 1: when he wears it, when the other guy wears it,
- 4:12Speaker 1: laugh out loud, funny. When Mikey wears it, I'm with Taylor.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Not that funny.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I've worn that shirt every day. Three people every time. Hey,
- 4:20Speaker 4: that's a great shirt. I want that shirt.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Right. He wears it.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Suddenly it might as well be on the freaking runway.
- 4:31Speaker 4: People are coming out, oh, my God, what a great shirt.
- 4:34Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, I've been wearing it every week.
- 4:37Speaker 3: They're like, shut up.
- 4:40Speaker 2: I have a question for you. I have a couple
- 4:41Speaker 2: of questions.
- 4:42Speaker 1: So before this guy showed up in your life, before
- 4:45Speaker 1: he was on your bowling team, when you say you're
- 4:46Speaker 1: the king of the alley, what was the reaction from
- 4:49Speaker 1: the rest of the alley when Mikey A walked in
- 4:52Speaker 1: pre-good-looking guy?
- 4:55Speaker 3: It's almost like I walked in like normal.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:58Speaker 3: And I'm finger pointing at people.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Of course.
- 5:01Speaker 3: And everybody's, you know, Mike's here. They don't even know me.
- 5:06Speaker 3: They just know.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yes. Look at me.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I'm a finger. Hey, hey, that's a good shot right there.
- 5:11Speaker 6: Yes.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Have no idea what that person is. But that's a
- 5:14Speaker 3: good shot. You almost had it.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Right. You're walking right down the center. You got a
- 5:17Speaker 1: strut off to the side. People are whispering. That's Mikey.
- 5:20Speaker 1: That's the king of the alley. They're whispering that stuff.
- 5:22Speaker 1: They're talking about you. Because you have that kind of
- 5:24Speaker 1: reputation at the bowling alley.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. One father slaps his son, goes, take your
- 5:29Speaker 3: hat off. That's Mikey A walking in.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Exactly right. Show some respect. Yeah. For the king of
- 5:35Speaker 2: the alley.
- 5:37Speaker 1: And so since this guy has shown up in your
- 5:40Speaker 1: life and has shown up on your bowling team and
- 5:42Speaker 1: is wearing your T-shirts, using your jokes, and is now
- 5:44Speaker 1: a better bowler. So when you walk in now, what's
- 5:47Speaker 1: the reaction? What's the reception now after? Hey, look, that
- 5:53Speaker 1: must mean that the other guy, Mr. Handsome, must be
- 5:55Speaker 1: here today because that's his teammate, I think.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Get out of the way. You're blocking our view of Mr.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Handsome. So you went from being the main course to
- 6:03Speaker 2: an appetizer.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Not even an appetizer.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I'm the tray that you know they're going to put
- 6:11Speaker 4: your dish on. So every time the door opens from
- 6:14Speaker 4: the kitchen and you see the tray, you're like, hey.
- 6:17Speaker 3: That might be our food.
- 6:18Speaker 5: I still can't get over how bad that pun shirt is.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very bad. It is. Well, listen, you're not
- 6:23Speaker 2: a bowler.
- 6:24Speaker 5: Mikey, I could come up with five better puns right now.
- 6:29Speaker 5: for bowling that are go.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I'll take one i'll take one don't.
- 6:33Speaker 5: Don't if i come up with one you'll give me
- 6:35Speaker 5: it if i come up with one i.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Have i want three at least you said five i
- 6:39Speaker 1: said one you want to meet us in the middle
- 6:41Speaker 1: of three can you can you come up with three
- 6:43Speaker 1: or no i could.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Quickly ai it go ahead quickly google it.
- 6:46Speaker 5: So there's a a 710 pins on a shirt yeah
- 6:51Speaker 5: and it says splits happen Like, shit happens, split happens.
- 6:55Speaker 2: That's pretty good. Better. I'd laugh harder at that than yours.
- 6:58Speaker 2: He's got one. Sure.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Okay. That's not better, but it's good.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Splits happen. I mean.
- 7:03Speaker 5: And then the same shirt, 710, and it says, or actually,
- 7:09Speaker 5: I need the sign for a spare.
- 7:13Speaker 3: A spare, yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 5: And it says living on a spare.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Oh, wow. Wow. Wow. Come on.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I mean, really? What do you mean? Get out of here.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I mean, get out of here.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You see what he did there? Living on a prayer.
- 7:27Speaker 2: What did Mr.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Hansen say to you?
- 7:29Speaker 5: And then what about this?
- 7:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Since I need to come up with three, what about
- 7:32Speaker 5: one where it's just a guy bowling and it's a
- 7:35Speaker 5: pose and the shirt just says, that's just.
- 7:38Speaker 3: How I roll.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Oh, wow. Pretty good.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Three better than your shirt, Mikey.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I mean, if I had to medal stand them.
- 7:45Speaker 3: That's none better, all good. None better, all good.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Yeah, but if I medal stand those shirts, just the
- 7:50Speaker 1: options I have available to me, yours would not be
- 7:52Speaker 1: on the podium.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Unless the good-looking guy was wearing it.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Spare me the drama. How about spare me the drama? Mr.
- 7:59Speaker 3: Handsome.
- 8:02Speaker 2: You hate this guy.
- 8:03Speaker 7: Mr.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Handsome. I do. And you know what's funny? He single-handedly
- 8:08Speaker 3: won us last week.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Wow, he's like that good?
- 8:12Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 8:14Speaker 5: When you accuse him of copying your move, do you
- 8:17Speaker 5: think he saw you do your move and said, I'm
- 8:19Speaker 5: going to replicate that?
- 8:22Speaker 4: Not only do I think he did, he told me
- 8:24Speaker 4: he did. I watched how you do it, Captain, and
- 8:28Speaker 4: that's what I'm going to do. And he does it
- 8:31Speaker 4: better than me now.
- 8:32Speaker 2: How about I'll spare you the details?
- 8:34Speaker 5: I like that.
- 8:35Speaker 3: What details?
- 8:37Speaker 5: What about Stu?
- 8:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:40Speaker 5: Stay in your lane.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Stay in your lane is a great one. How about
- 8:43Speaker 2: you're not getting older, you're getting bolder. Bolder.
- 8:53Speaker 5: I like all of these so far better than Mikey's shirt.
- 8:58Speaker 3: What if I showed you him wearing it?
- 9:00Speaker 2: Well, laugh out loud.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Funny.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I started to frame a good one, but I was
- 9:05Speaker 2: split on what to do. How about that? Wow.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I mean, straight from AI. It's powerful, this thing. It's
- 9:13Speaker 2: going to kill us all.
- 9:14Speaker 3: It's going to kill us all. Especially if you keep
- 9:17Speaker 3: giving it bad puns.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I'm not looking for good ones, just ones that are
- 9:24Speaker 1: better than the one that you're trotting around in.
- 9:27Speaker 5: What about one with Superman and it says, I'm just
- 9:29Speaker 5: looking for my lowest lanes?
- 9:31Speaker 2: How about you're a real pinspiration?
- 9:37Speaker 4: I'm going to send you the picture of our team.
- 9:40Speaker 4: They're all wearing the shirt, except I cut.
- 9:42Speaker 3: His head off.
- 9:44Speaker 7: Why?
- 9:44Speaker 2: I want to see his face, man.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Listen, maybe if you would have said my shirt was good,
- 9:51Speaker 3: I'd give it to you.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Stu, you know what I think is happening?
- 9:53Speaker 2: What?
- 9:54Speaker 5: I think Mikey is getting self-conscious because he has talked
- 9:56Speaker 5: this guy up.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 9:58Speaker 5: The fact that he is worried that he's going to
- 9:59Speaker 5: send this picture and me and you are going to
- 10:01Speaker 5: look at him and be like, no, he's not that hot.
- 10:03Speaker 2: He's a schlep. Look at his arms.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I just sent you the picture. Look at his arms.
- 10:06Speaker 2: All right, let me check out his arms. All right,
- 10:08Speaker 2: hold on. I mean, the arms, I mean, it's not
- 10:11Speaker 2: a preview.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Just look.
- 10:13Speaker 2: But I've seen people who have great arms and not
- 10:15Speaker 2: a great face. That's all I'm saying. I mean.
- 10:18Speaker 3: He's Batman.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Seeing this shirt on people, I hate it even more.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Oh, it's terrible. It's a terrible shirt. I can see
- 10:27Speaker 2: what you're saying about the arms, but it does nothing.
- 10:30Speaker 2: I mean, it really, in terms of.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Taylor, do you have a better read as to whether
- 10:34Speaker 1: or not this guy is an Adonis, as Mikey says
- 10:36Speaker 1: he is?
- 10:37Speaker 5: I'm sticking with my theory that Mikey is getting worried
- 10:42Speaker 5: that he has talked this guy up so much and
- 10:44Speaker 5: that when he sends us him... We are going to
- 10:46Speaker 5: be like, this guy's not that hot, and then Mikey
- 10:48Speaker 5: is going to be self-conscious.
- 10:49Speaker 4: The only reason you guys got that picture is because
- 10:52Speaker 4: that's the picture I sent my wife, because I would
- 10:55Speaker 4: not send her his full shot. I said, hey, hon,
- 11:02Speaker 4: look what they did. They copied my shirt. She goes,
- 11:05Speaker 4: why are their heads cut off? I said, so you
- 11:07Speaker 4: can't see him.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Stu, what about a shirt where people are protesting with
- 11:10Speaker 5: signs and they're picketing, and it says, sorry, we're on strike?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Oh, I love that.
- 11:14Speaker 1: How about a joke like a stand-up set that if
- 11:17Speaker 1: Mikey did it, it would be terrible. If the other
- 11:19Speaker 1: guy did it, it would be laugh out loud funny.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Why do bowlers join unions? They love strikes.
- 11:27Speaker 5: That's kind of what my joke just went for.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Yours was on a t-shirt. A little derivative.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I had the good-looking guy standing up and delivering a
- 11:36Speaker 1: set of bowling jokes.
- 11:39Speaker 4: The fact that you guys don't think my shirt is
- 11:40Speaker 4: great is why you'll never be kings of the alley.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Well, I still have no idea. You're not the king
- 11:44Speaker 1: of the alley. The other guy is because he's better looking.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Sounds like you're the jester right now.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Tell us a joke, funny man. Tucking fen pin.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Are there times where you bowl like a 270 and
- 11:59Speaker 1: he bowls like a 170 and everyone just runs to
- 12:01Speaker 1: him like he won the match for you?
- 12:04Speaker 2: Is it a bowling match? Yes, all the time, every week.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Yes, there are times where I'll pick up a ridiculous spare,
- 12:11Speaker 4: and he'll miss it, and they'll go, oh, you were
- 12:14Speaker 4: so close, you had it. And I was like, I
- 12:16Speaker 4: just hit it. Like, I just hit it.
- 12:19Speaker 3: And they're like, oh.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Where does Superman like to go bowling? Lois Lane's.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Lois Lane's.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Ah, yes, you guys, you're on.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Because I had that joke before.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:30Speaker 5: I think we were on the same Google search.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:36Speaker 2: I'm looking for more. This is fun.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Why do bowlers make great friends? They always pick you
- 12:46Speaker 1: up when you're down. Would you pick this guy.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Up when he's down?
- 12:56Speaker 3: If he ever gets down, I'll let you know.
- 12:57Speaker 2: You would kick him down. He'd be the reason.
- 13:02Speaker 3: You would be the reason.
- 13:03Speaker 2: He's on the floor.
- 13:05Speaker 3: He's so damn handsome.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Do you wish he was not on your team? Be honest.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Are you friends with him?
- 13:14Speaker 3: I only met him at first week of bowling.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Which bowler floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee?
- 13:21Speaker 5: Muhammad Ali.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Muhammad Ali.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Anyway, baseball.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Sorry, Mike.
- 13:33Speaker 2: We're not supporting you in the way I think you
- 13:34Speaker 2: want it from us.
- 13:36Speaker 3: As a matter of fact, no, you're not. I hope
- 13:41Speaker 3: Taylor loses every softball game he ever plays.
- 13:43Speaker 5: We haven't lost yet this season.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Well, what are you going to do? What's the solution
- 13:46Speaker 2: for this guy? He's good looking and he's not going anywhere.
- 13:48Speaker 2: He's the king of the alley.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Just support me. My shirt was funnier. That's all I wanted.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Fine. Fine. Your shirt was funnier. Taylor, are we in agreement?
- 13:57Speaker 2: His shirt was funnier? Let's be good friends here.
- 13:59Speaker 5: I won't compromise myself.
- 14:14Speaker 1: All right, let's get to baseball here. Are you excited, Taylor,
- 14:17Speaker 1: for the World Series? We have the Brewers and the Rays.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Bordart Ricardo is back from Costa Rica, and somehow we thought,
- 14:25Speaker 1: the biggest baseball fan I know, he thought the Guardians
- 14:27Speaker 1: made it to the World Series.
- 14:29Speaker 2: That's what Costa Rica will do for you.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Yeah, so he was trying to guess book for us,
- 14:33Speaker 5: and he was suggesting all these people to talk Guardians,
- 14:36Speaker 5: and we were like, Well, that doesn't really seem like
- 14:39Speaker 5: the type of stuff we would do on this show anyways.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:41Speaker 5: But then his suggestions kept getting further and further and
- 14:45Speaker 5: more suggestive towards, like, Cleveland personalities.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You want to go with God.
- 14:48Speaker 5: And we were like, we turned to him and go, Ricardo,
- 14:52Speaker 5: do you know the Guardians aren't in the World Series
- 14:54Speaker 5: and it's the Rays? And he goes, I can't believe
- 14:56Speaker 5: I've made that mistake.
- 14:59Speaker 2: That's Costa Rica, man. Seriously, that's what it's all about.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Vacation Costa Rica is all about forgetting about baseball.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Just for a moment.
- 15:09Speaker 5: But I am excited about this World Series because, for once,
- 15:11Speaker 5: it feels like baseball's biggest story isn't about who spends
- 15:14Speaker 5: the most money to get to the World Series, and
- 15:16Speaker 5: it's about who built the best team. And I think
- 15:19Speaker 5: with these two teams, one of the players in this
- 15:21Speaker 5: series is going to get launched into the future face
- 15:24Speaker 5: of the league conversation.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Really?
- 15:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 1: If you had to guess from either team, like let's
- 15:29Speaker 1: say the Brewers win, who would that guy be if
- 15:31Speaker 1: you had to guess?
- 15:32Speaker 3: Jacob Mizorowski.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Yeah, Mizorowski is a good suggestion because it's like the Yankees,
- 15:37Speaker 5: the Dodgers, they're not in the World Series to do
- 15:40Speaker 5: the marketing for you. You've got a guy throwing 105
- 15:42Speaker 5: miles per hour in Game 1 of the World Series.
- 15:44Speaker 5: It's a good chance to make him a superstar, but
- 15:47Speaker 5: you also have somebody like Jackson Churrio. I know Churrio
- 15:50Speaker 5: has struggled this postseason, but You know, he's delivered some
- 15:53Speaker 5: enormous hits for them this postseason, only 22 years old.
- 15:57Speaker 5: And if it was for the Rays, it would probably
- 15:58Speaker 5: be Junior Caminero. I think Junior Caminero is the most
- 16:01Speaker 5: dangerous pure power hitter in this World Series where he's
- 16:05Speaker 5: only 23. He's hit 40-plus home runs in back-to-back seasons.
- 16:09Speaker 5: If Junior Caminero played for the Yankees... We talk about
- 16:12Speaker 5: him with the Aaron Judges and the Shovel Tani's in baseball.
- 16:16Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 16:16Speaker 1: So this is for future face of the league, not
- 16:18Speaker 1: just the World Series, future face of the league.
- 16:21Speaker 5: First-time champion, so something already has to give between these
- 16:24Speaker 5: two teams, and then further on the line, future face
- 16:27Speaker 5: of the league.
- 16:27Speaker 1: You guys would want the Brewers over the Rays as
- 16:29Speaker 1: a first-time champion, right? They've been around longer, right? And
- 16:32Speaker 1: the Rays are in your division, correct?
- 16:34Speaker 3: Absolutely. Yes.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Taylor, I don't know. I'm not so certain.
- 16:38Speaker 5: So once we get to the Stugats of the day,
- 16:39Speaker 5: you might hear why I'm rooting for one team over
- 16:41Speaker 5: the other.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Thank you for leading me there. Let's get to it.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Go ahead, Mikey.
- 16:45Speaker 4: I was just going to ask Taylor, have we come
- 16:47Speaker 4: up with a name for this series yet? Are we
- 16:49Speaker 4: calling it the Greg Vaughn series?
- 16:51Speaker 5: Wow, that's a good suggestion.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. Forgot it. It's got to be a
- 16:54Speaker 2: player on both teams, right?
- 16:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Greg Vaughn, that guy, he could hit.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Power numbers.
- 17:04Speaker 5: Might be the Willie Adamas.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Greg Vaughn sounds better to me, the Greg Vaughn series,
- 17:10Speaker 2: you know?
- 17:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Just more people know who he is, I feel like.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Logan Morrison?
- 17:16Speaker 2: Oh, wow, logo.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Steven Voight?
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Wasn't Voight an A? He was.
- 17:26Speaker 1: What a weird recall for me. There are many big stars, crossover, Rays,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and Brewers.
- 17:33Speaker 2: They don't have stars.
- 17:34Speaker 5: Ben Grieve.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Once they become stars, they leave. They go elsewhere.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Ben Grieve played for the Brewers. I didn't know that.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yeah, 04.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Anyway, Taylor mentioned the Stugats of the day. Let's get
- 17:47Speaker 1: to it right here, Taylor.
- 17:48Speaker 2: What do you have for us?
- 17:49Speaker 5: So, Stugats, have you heard about the timeless tickets yet?
- 17:53Speaker 5: Has that crossed your desk?
- 17:55Speaker 2: I do. I believe it hasn't crossed my desk.
- 17:58Speaker 1: No, I think it crossed my television screen. There's a
- 18:01Speaker 1: guy many, many years ago who they had a promotion.
- 18:04Speaker 1: He bought a timeless Brewers ticket, and he wants to
- 18:07Speaker 1: cash it in now. Very smart had he play. Wants
- 18:10Speaker 1: to cash it in for a ticket to the World Series.
- 18:12Speaker 5: So you basically got the story right. But in 2015,
- 18:15Speaker 5: the Milwaukee Brewers had a promotion where they sold 1,000
- 18:19Speaker 5: what they're calling timeless tickets for $ 1, 000 apiece. Right. And
- 18:23Speaker 5: they promised fans admission to any future home game, including
- 18:27Speaker 5: a potential World Series. So the tickets never expired and
- 18:31Speaker 5: fans were promised the best available seats subject to availability.
- 18:37Speaker 5: So now you fast forward 11 years, the Brewers finally
- 18:40Speaker 5: back in the World Series for the first time since 1982.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Hundreds of fans who saved their tickets specifically for a
- 18:47Speaker 5: World Series tried to redeem them.
- 18:49Speaker 7: Yep.
- 18:49Speaker 5: And instead of giving them the option for the premium seats,
- 18:53Speaker 5: the Brewers are only offering them upper deck seats or
- 18:56Speaker 5: standing room only. And fans are discovering better seats were
- 19:00Speaker 5: available through regular season ticket sales. And some fans are
- 19:04Speaker 5: arguing that they basically gave the Brewers a $ 1, 000 interest-free
- 19:08Speaker 5: loan for 11 years, and they're getting treated like this.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Like second-class customers.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Well, and they were promised a certain seating section, right?
- 19:16Speaker 5: They were promised best available seats.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:19Speaker 5: And the best available seats are not what they're being given.
- 19:24Speaker 1: So the brewers are telling them these are the best
- 19:27Speaker 1: available seats, and they're like, hey, we're in the tech age.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I can check online. These are not the best available seats.
- 19:34Speaker 1: These are the best available seats.
- 19:35Speaker 5: We see seats available behind home plate, and the brewers
- 19:38Speaker 5: are like, sorry, guys, standing room only. So the Brewers
- 19:43Speaker 5: for running this promotion, this promotion was very clearly just
- 19:48Speaker 5: a cash grab in the moment where they didn't think
- 19:51Speaker 5: about the possibility of them making it to the World
- 19:53Speaker 5: Series because at the time of the promotion, the Brewers
- 19:55Speaker 5: had only had two playoff appearances in 31 years. And
- 19:59Speaker 5: the fact that you had this many fans willing to
- 20:02Speaker 5: buy in, it's an embarrassing look for the Brewers. So
- 20:05Speaker 5: the Brewers have come out and admitted they screwed up.
- 20:08Speaker 5: But they're still not honoring the spirit of the promotion
- 20:11Speaker 5: because they're saying you could keep the timeless tickets and
- 20:15Speaker 5: you could use your timeless ticket on a standing room
- 20:19Speaker 5: only or upper deck seat for the World Series, and
- 20:21Speaker 5: then you could still use your timeless ticket for another
- 20:24Speaker 5: future game. But you're not getting good seats for these
- 20:26Speaker 5: World Series because they cost way too much for us.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Right.
- 20:29Speaker 1: The timeless ticket is a great idea. So at the time,
- 20:32Speaker 1: that's a great promotion. The idea that you want to
- 20:36Speaker 1: follow through on said promotion is When these people actually
- 20:39Speaker 1: want to cash in the tickets that they laid out
- 20:41Speaker 1: all that money for, you're right. Congratulations to the Brewers.
- 20:44Speaker 1: They are the Stugats of the day. If they were
- 20:46Speaker 1: the David Sampson of the day, they wouldn't be allowed
- 20:48Speaker 1: in the game, period.
- 20:52Speaker 5: You know somebody in that brewer's front office like was
- 20:55Speaker 5: like this is such a great idea like this is
- 20:58Speaker 5: never going to come back to bite us ever and
- 21:00Speaker 5: then you you fast forward again 11 years and somebody
- 21:03Speaker 5: the first person tries to redeem it and it's like
- 21:06Speaker 5: uh-oh like i don't know if you guys have seen
- 21:08Speaker 5: it's one of the hardest episodes to watch in television
- 21:11Speaker 5: The Office, the Scott's Tots episode.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Scott's Tots.
- 21:14Speaker 5: Scott's Tots. Stu, I don't know if you've ever seen
- 21:16Speaker 5: that episode.
- 21:17Speaker 2: No, never seen The Office.
- 21:18Speaker 5: So Scott's Tots, the premise is he goes to a
- 21:24Speaker 5: school and promises a class of kindergartners, once you get
- 21:30Speaker 5: to college... your tuition's going to be paid for.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Right. I'm going to pay for your college tuition. He
- 21:36Speaker 4: tells a bunch of kindergartners, if you make the grades
- 21:40Speaker 4: and you get into college, I'm going to pay for it.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:42Speaker 2: He didn't think they were all going to make the grades?
- 21:45Speaker 4: No. He thought, if you follow the show, he thought
- 21:49Speaker 4: he was going to have a multi-platinum comedy album and
- 21:52Speaker 4: he was going to be a millionaire.
- 21:55Speaker 3: He has a very inflated.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 21:57Speaker 3: Version of what he thinks he will be.
- 21:59Speaker 1: From a financial standpoint, he didn't think he was going
- 22:02Speaker 1: to have to sweat it.
- 22:03Speaker 5: And he kind of also just got caught up in
- 22:06Speaker 5: the moment of seeing all these young kids and like,
- 22:08Speaker 5: what can I do in the moment for them? Oh,
- 22:10Speaker 5: I know, promise them tuition. So the school has them
- 22:13Speaker 5: back when these kids are getting ready to graduate and
- 22:16Speaker 5: all the kids are wearing their college gear.
- 22:19Speaker 2: So excited.
- 22:19Speaker 5: They're like, oh, we're going to this Ivy school. This
- 22:22Speaker 5: guy has been promising us tuition for 15 plus years now.
- 22:27Speaker 5: And he has to break it to them. I'm not
- 22:29Speaker 5: paying for your guys' school.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I'm not paying for it. That's so good. He says,
- 22:35Speaker 3: I thought I'd be a millionaire by the time I'm 40.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe by the time I'm 50.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Wait, so are there brewers?
- 22:42Speaker 1: Would you rather sit standing room only, stand, standing room only,
- 22:46Speaker 1: or watch the game on your couch?
- 22:48Speaker 2: Standing room only. I mean.
- 22:51Speaker 5: I would probably choose standing room only just to be
- 22:54Speaker 5: in the building. Like I've thought about this for the Yankees.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Like some standing room only, if you get there early
- 22:58Speaker 5: enough is like pretty good seating or not seating technically,
- 23:02Speaker 5: since you're standing. It's good standing.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Yes.
- 23:05Speaker 5: It's good standing in the concourse. And it's like, if
- 23:08Speaker 5: you're at a ballpark with friends and you're like walking
- 23:10Speaker 5: around from like bars to food, it's like, You could
- 23:13Speaker 5: kind of stay on the move at a baseball game.
- 23:15Speaker 1: It's kind of like a GA seat at a concert.
- 23:16Speaker 1: If you get there early enough, it's a great seat.
- 23:18Speaker 1: If you're not there early, it's not a great seat.
- 23:21Speaker 5: Yes, if you're standing like 10 rows back, then yes,
- 23:24Speaker 5: I would probably rather watch the game from my couch.
- 23:27Speaker 2: How many people went scrambling for the tickets the second
- 23:30Speaker 2: the Brewers made the World Series? Hey, I bought that ticket!
- 23:33Speaker 5: Hey, honey, do you remember where our timeless ticket is?
- 23:38Speaker 3: To the nightstand.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yes. It's a great idea. A terrible execution. They're terrible people.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Now I'm rooting for Tampa, I feel like.
- 23:45Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying, Steve, because I think the baseball gods,
- 23:49Speaker 5: if you believe in certain things like baseball gods, I
- 23:52Speaker 5: think baseball gods are giving this series to the Rays
- 23:54Speaker 5: at this point.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Because the Brewers are being terrible to their fans.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Yes.
- 23:59Speaker 2: You have to honor that, Mikey, don't you?
- 24:01Speaker 3: I mean... Of course you do.
- 24:04Speaker 4: I just can't wait for the ones that go, fine,
- 24:07Speaker 4: I'll take the standing room only ticket, and then I'm
- 24:09Speaker 4: going to use it on a big game, like maybe
- 24:11Speaker 4: the ring ceremony if they win next year.
- 24:13Speaker 3: And it goes, oh, I'm sorry, you can't use this.
- 24:15Speaker 3: It's already been used.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Yes. Listen, the Brewers have drawn a line in the sand.
- 24:22Speaker 1: You're not getting a good seed to a big-time game
- 24:25Speaker 1: in Milwaukee with that ticket.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I don't care if it's opening day. I don't care
- 24:29Speaker 2: what it is. The Yankees are in town. It ain't happening.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Standing room only.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Now, if you want to go to Game 17 against
- 24:36Speaker 1: the Pirates on a Wednesday afternoon, I think you can
- 24:38Speaker 1: sit wherever the hell you want.
- 24:39Speaker 2: For $ 1, 000, yeah.
- 24:40Speaker 5: For $ 1, 000. Who would have cashed this ticket in before getting.
- 24:46Speaker 3: To the World Series? Unless Skeens is pitching.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Someone did, Taylor. They played in big games. I mean,
- 24:52Speaker 2: they have.
- 24:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess you might cash it in for a
- 24:55Speaker 5: championship series if you think that they're not going to
- 24:57Speaker 5: make it to the World Series. But at that point,
- 25:00Speaker 5: if you're that close to the World Series, you might
- 25:02Speaker 5: as well keep your timeless ticket.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I guess.
- 25:06Speaker 4: I could see you getting caught up in that CeCe
- 25:07Speaker 4: Sabathia run Milwaukee had.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I could see you getting caught.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Up and be like, you know what? I'm going to
- 25:12Speaker 3: use it here.
- 25:12Speaker 1: An NLCS game against the Dodgers. I mean, I could
- 25:15Speaker 1: see you using it there.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Of course.
- 25:17Speaker 1: What happened with Christopher Mad Dog Russo? Again, he's going
- 25:20Speaker 1: to join us next week.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 25:21Speaker 1: It's been a while since we've had him on.
- 25:23Speaker 2: What happened with Mad Dog here getting disrespected?
- 25:26Speaker 5: So Mad Dog on his show on SiriusXM, he wanted
- 25:29Speaker 5: to have Brewers manager Pat Murphy on the show. And Stu,
- 25:33Speaker 5: you know this problem. the more success that these managers
- 25:37Speaker 5: have or these coaches or players have, the harder it
- 25:40Speaker 5: is to book them on the show.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:41Speaker 5: But you would assume somebody like Christopher Mad Dog Russo
- 25:44Speaker 5: with the gravitas he pulls in the sports media world
- 25:48Speaker 5: should have no problem getting Pat Murphy on. Unfortunately... That
- 25:52Speaker 5: wasn't the case. And on first take, they had the
- 25:55Speaker 5: Mad Dog segment, What's Mad Dog Mad About?
- 25:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 25:58Speaker 5: And he was mad about this.
- 26:00Speaker 2: When the Brewers beat the Dodgers on Thursday, you know the.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Milwaukee Brewers, these are the Yankees.
- 26:04Speaker 7: When the Brewers beat the Dodgers, when the Brewers beat
- 26:07Speaker 7: the Dodgers on Thursday, I told my great producer Eddie.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Erickson, Eddie, you know what? He's going to do it.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Why not? Five minutes.
- 26:13Speaker 7: Could you email the Brewers? And tell them, can I
- 26:16Speaker 7: get Pat Murphy on the manager? The series starts on
- 26:19Speaker 7: Friday night. He's got eight days. There's no travel because
- 26:21Speaker 7: they play at home. Can you get him on for,
- 26:23Speaker 7: you know, ten minutes one day next week? I'll tape
- 26:25Speaker 7: it at 6 o'clock at night. I'll tape it at
- 26:27Speaker 7: 3 o'clock in the morning.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Just so you don't get a little feel.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Brewers World Series.
- 26:31Speaker 2: It's Pat Murphy. He had counsel.
- 26:33Speaker 7: He's a nice guy. Five minutes later, five minutes, the
- 26:39Speaker 7: Brewers emailed my producer back and said, sorry, we cannot
- 26:43Speaker 7: accommodate the request.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Pat Murphy's schedule is too busy.
- 26:47Speaker 4: What?
- 26:48Speaker 5: What?
- 26:48Speaker 4: What?
- 26:49Speaker 7: I'm a Hall of Famer.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm on first take.
- 26:54Speaker 7: Not only that, Pat Murphy on Monday night did Let's Go.
- 27:02Speaker 3: No knocking Jim Gray.
- 27:03Speaker 2: You know who was on?
- 27:04Speaker 3: Stafford and Breeze.
- 27:06Speaker 7: He said, fuck ball, guys, for crying out loud.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Here it is.
- 27:10Speaker 7: I've been doing radio for 40-something years.
- 27:13Speaker 5: You only knew about this three years ago. You never
- 27:15Speaker 5: knew about it.
- 27:16Speaker 7: But 40, she knows, 40-something years.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I mean, I did it at Manford.
- 27:21Speaker 7: Every World Series game, all-star game. Last year, I went
- 27:23Speaker 7: to the World Series. In Toronto, Sirius wouldn't pay.
- 27:26Speaker 2: We're not paying.
- 27:27Speaker 7: So I paid for the producer up there, two days.
- 27:30Speaker 7: I did great shows Thursday and Friday.
- 27:32Speaker 5: I went out of my way.
- 27:33Speaker 7: And you can't get me Pat Murphy for ten minutes
- 27:36Speaker 7: when I'm on five days a week, eight days before
- 27:39Speaker 7: he plays the first World Series game.
- 27:41Speaker 3: I am a piece of garbage! Number three.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Talk your ears, man.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay. Am I right or wrong, Jeff?
- 27:53Speaker 2: That's it, that's it.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I'm glad Dog is using First Take to complain about
- 27:58Speaker 1: things that aren't happening on his radio show. That's the
- 28:00Speaker 1: way to use the platform that people are listening to
- 28:02Speaker 1: you on. And I'm glad Eddie Erickson got a shout out.
- 28:07Speaker 1: And there is no way, no way that Dog would
- 28:11Speaker 1: tape with Pat Murphy at 3 a.m.
- 28:14Speaker 2: There is no way. He's a Hall of Famer.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Well, Stu, later on in the day, guess who Dog
- 28:20Speaker 5: had on his show?
- 28:21Speaker 2: Pat Murphy. Pat Murphy.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 28:23Speaker 5: The complaining worked.
- 28:25Speaker 1: So if he complains on SiriusXM on his radio show,
- 28:28Speaker 1: nothing happens. Because his dog has told me no one's
- 28:31Speaker 1: listening to SiriusXM anymore. But he used his first date
- 28:36Speaker 1: to get him onto a SiriusXM radio show.
- 28:38Speaker 2: That's a heady play by Dog.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:41Speaker 4: I'm fairly certain that's 90% of the reason that he
- 28:44Speaker 4: does for a steak.
- 28:45Speaker 2: There's no doubt. Put it on the poll.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Do you think Christopher Mad Dog Russo would interview Pat
- 28:50Speaker 1: Murphy at 3 a.m.? The.
- 28:54Speaker 5: Best stray in that rant, which is why Mad Dog's
- 28:57Speaker 5: so good, because he knows how to just say certain
- 28:59Speaker 5: people's names and just take certain digs at people.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 5: The fact that Pat Murphy went on Jim Gray's podcast,
- 29:06Speaker 5: Let's Go.
- 29:06Speaker 2: It's a detail that's not needed but sorely needed. Yep.
- 29:12Speaker 2: To make his point. It is so good.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Pat Murphy at 3 a.m.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Taylor is right about this, though, Mikey. You know this.
- 29:24Speaker 1: If you want to get Pat Murphy on and get
- 29:26Speaker 1: him on consistently– You have to have them on game
- 29:29Speaker 1: 17 against the Pirates at home after that game and
- 29:32Speaker 1: then just keep having them on, having them on, having
- 29:34Speaker 1: them on. Otherwise, these guys get too big, they get
- 29:36Speaker 1: too busy, and they suddenly don't have time for you,
- 29:39Speaker 1: you know?
- 29:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I used to think that. I think it's a
- 29:41Speaker 3: different world now. I think as soon as you get
- 29:43Speaker 3: too big, you burn bridges.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Really?
- 29:46Speaker 1: Or you use First Take and that platform and that
