- 0:00What's up? We are back with another episode
- 0:04of the Adventures and Adversity podcast.
- 0:07I am super stoked to be here yet again.
- 0:10And I'm wearing a very special shirt.
- 0:12There's we're gonna talk about the shirt Divini in all kinds of
- 0:16ways. Welcome back.
- 0:18If you're if you have been watching for a while, thank you
- 0:21so much for tuning in again, whether you're coming through
- 0:25YouTube, Spotify or Apple podcasts, always appreciate it.
- 0:29If you are brand new here and you might be a friend of my
- 0:33guests, hopefully, I'm sure a bunch of her friends are gonna
- 0:36TuneIn, thank you so much. This is a podcast essentially
- 0:40where real people tell true stories about how they have
- 0:46turned any kind of adversity into their in their life into an
- 0:50adventure. You know, we're all we're all
- 0:52facing obstacles of different types and sizes and different
- 0:57times. So I am honored, always honored
- 1:01when someone agrees to sit down and talk to me.
- 1:04So with that, I am going to introduce my next guest, Miranda
- 1:09Young. Thank you so much for being
- 1:11here. Thank you for having me.
- 1:13This is so exciting. I'm honestly so excited.
- 1:15I know we're both like grinning like, like like because I think
- 1:21we have a really cool connection that has in the last couple
- 1:26months has materialized from my producer and your podcast
- 1:32producer Julian Jack, AKA Julio Iglesias.
- 1:37Jack Efron, DJ Jack, my former student from 20 years ago when I
- 1:44was a teacher when I, you know, I'm 400 years old, so I was 25.
- 1:51He was in 7th grade, middle school math and science, just
- 1:56really cool year in Arizona. And then we reconnected via
- 1:59Facebook and here we are. Wow.
- 2:03And let's talk about you now. So I know you because Julian
- 2:08Jack introduced me to you and Davini.
- 2:13Mm, hmm, yeah. So talk now.
- 2:17Yeah, well, I know Jack. I've known him for I know him as
- 2:21Jack. First of all, I didn't hear I.
- 2:23Say, Julian, you're like. Who?
- 2:25Yeah. Well, I didn't know his name was
- 2:27Julian for like maybe a year into when we were working and he
- 2:31like, asked me to start zelling him or something.
- 2:34And so he's like little government name came up.
- 2:37And his true identity. Yeah.
- 2:40And so I was like, why didn't you ever tell me your name was
- 2:42Julian? Like, I didn't know that was
- 2:45never your name anyway. So I thought that was super
- 2:47funny. And now I know if you've known
- 2:49him for 20 plus years, that he is Julian.
- 2:54But I call him Jack, whatever. Sometimes I call him King
- 2:57Julian, like from Madagascar. But I met him about two years
- 3:04ago, two years ago and some months when I was making music
- 3:09and he was, or he is my second producer that I've ever worked
- 3:15with. And so from the time of two
- 3:17years ago to now, we've probably made close to like 15 to 20
- 3:22songs together. And he's really helped me
- 3:25develop as an artist and has given me some incredible insight
- 3:30in the industry since he has had some experiences in the
- 3:34industry. He honestly is one of my best
- 3:38friends, like a brother to me. I can text him about anything.
- 3:42He's given me some crazy advice. He's scolded me on things that I
- 3:47do that are dumb, but he's been there with me through some of
- 3:52the craziest moments of my life and seen me throughout these
- 3:57last two years transform into who I am today.
- 4:00And even when I started working for Davini.
- 4:03So Davini, which is the shirt that he's wearing, is the Honey
- 4:08Kombucha brand that I work with. And I came on as their social
- 4:13media manager about six months ago.
- 4:16I actually met the Divini boys. So the two cofounders, I met
- 4:21them at an event that Jack had invited me to, which was like a
- 4:25coffee shop kind of DJ by. Which I yeah, so.
- 4:31Cool. And he had gone to support one
- 4:34of the artists that he was working with and he invited me
- 4:36to come out and I was like, I'm not doing anything this Saturday
- 4:39morning. Like, sure.
- 4:40And so we were there just chilling.
- 4:43And this guy comes up to us and he's like, hey, like I'm trying
- 4:48to do some interviews. Like do you know anybody that
- 4:50would be interested in doing interviews for this brand, which
- 4:54was called Mina Agua? And it's actually that that it's
- 4:58a sister brand and of that soda brand, Haritos, I don't know if
- 5:02you ever heard of it. It's like super popular.
- 5:04It's they're in the glass bottles and they're like super
- 5:07colorful brand. Yeah.
- 5:10So he was, he is, I'm an ambassador.
- 5:14I don't know if he works for their social media, but he was
- 5:17out there doing like interviews with people.
- 5:19And so Jack tells the guy he's like, well, this is my client.
- 5:23Like she has a podcast. Like if you need someone to run
- 5:26the interviews, you know, she can do it.
- 5:28And I was like, oh, yeah, like, I'm down for it.
- 5:30So he hands me the microphone and we just start interviewing
- 5:33people. And it was super fun, just like
- 5:36super random. And we were interviewing one
- 5:38last person and the guy was like, here you can just choose
- 5:43like whoever you want an interview.
- 5:44And I was like, OK, cool. And so as I'm like looking
- 5:46around the room, I see this one guy walk in and I was like, we
- 5:49should interview him because he just like looked like swaggy.
- 5:53I don't know, that's a horrible word, but energy, yes.
- 5:57Like the energy was like there. And so I like walk up to him and
- 6:01I'm like, hey, like we're doing interviews.
- 6:03Would you like to be in an interview?
- 6:04And he's like, OK, sure. So we walk outside and as we're
- 6:07walking out, then his friend comes up, which turns out to be
- 6:11his business partner. And I was like, like, well, what
- 6:14are you guys doing out here? Like who are you?
- 6:16And they're like, oh, we, we have a kombucha brand.
- 6:19And I was like what? No way.
- 6:20Like I love kombucha. And it was crazy cuz I do, I had
- 6:25before I met them drank kombucha like every single day.
- 6:29But my thing was that like, I didn't love the way that it
- 6:33tasted, but I drank it for it's like health properties.
- 6:36And so I was like, this is awesome.
- 6:39Like I'd love to try your guys kombucha.
- 6:41So we ended up exchanging information.
- 6:44We met up I think like that same week I went to their house,
- 6:48which was called like the Divini headquarters.
- 6:50It was this insane like loft kind of, well like huge place
- 6:57that like 5 people lived in and it was just so amazing.
- 7:02And we tried the kombucha for the first time and I was like,
- 7:05Oh my God, like this is insane. Like it's actually the best
- 7:08tasting kombucha I've ever had. So I just became extremely
- 7:12passionate about what they were doing and we became closer and a
- 7:17couple months down the line, I was like, I, I was, you know,
- 7:22kind of going to events with them and I was like, I'll start
- 7:24filming Tik Toks for you guys. Like your TikTok sucks.
- 7:28So they were like, OK, like, do whatever you want.
- 7:31So I started filming Tik Toks for them and I would just kind
- 7:35of send it and I like you. And I was like, if you like
- 7:38them, you can post them. I don't care.
- 7:40But like, I think, you know, I know TikTok pretty well.
- 7:43So I'd love to, you know, as a friend just for you guys.
- 7:47And so a couple months into me doing that, they like sat me
- 7:51down one day and they were like, we want to bring you on like we
- 7:54want. They have told me we want Divini
- 7:56to be your top priority. Like we want to bring you on and
- 7:59we want you to put Divini in front of everything else.
- 8:02And I was like done, like sign the contract.
- 8:05What a nice, I mean, not only from a business perspective, but
- 8:09what a nice way to like, say that to somebody like we want
- 8:12your time and attention because you're so good at it.
- 8:14Yeah, and I, I mean, I was like, like just smiling ear to ear
- 8:19because before that my life was like completely different.
- 8:23So it felt like this was finally an opening into where like, I
- 8:27felt passionate about what I was doing and like, and in a sense,
- 8:31I felt extremely valuable as well because I hadn't felt that
- 8:35way in a long time. So it was amazing to step into
- 8:38this role with people that I felt valued me and cared about
- 8:41me. So it's been great ever since.
- 8:45That's the dream, right? Like work for a company where
- 8:47the people value, care about you, align with you, and then
- 8:50you believe in a product that you enjoy.
- 8:54Absolutely benefits to help other people.
- 8:56Yeah, it's so it's at the core, it's very, I would say it is
- 9:03very built up by God for sure, because it is a very positive
- 9:08thing that we're trying to do for people.
- 9:10And all three of us are very God centered as well, which is just
- 9:14absolutely amazing. No, OK, this is funny.
- 9:19As I say, God has a sense of humor.
- 9:21He's like, hey. Right, right.
- 9:24Yeah. God centered awesome kombucha
- 9:27tea. I'm I'll be like of all the spot
- 9:30OK, sense like I told you I was working this Yeah, OK, so so
- 9:36many things so you that our connection.
- 9:39I, I love that we are connected through like a cool story like
- 9:43that and through shout out to Jack for always thinking of
- 9:49people and making connections and saying you should talk to
- 9:53them. You, you 2 would connect.
- 9:55He's like a connector. That way he is a networker for.
- 9:58Sure. Yeah.
- 10:00And like I was able to interview his dad about.
- 10:02His dad is awesome. And like, I'm like, oh, yeah, I
- 10:07never met you because during that time when I was Julian's
- 10:09teacher, you were just, you know, undercover detective
- 10:14protecting us in Arizona. I was like, thanks for that,
- 10:18that I, for that year. Appreciate it.
- 10:22Like insane. Yeah, so all these connections.
- 10:24So that is how we connected, right, Divini, which we're going
- 10:29to kind of, I think it's going to be the connection.
- 10:31We'll talk about Divini throughout the episode just
- 10:33because I'm excited. I feel honored to be like an
- 10:39ambassador for Divini. I love the concept of like the
- 10:44storytelling that Divini features and and you've done a
- 10:46great job on that with like the social media of telling the
- 10:49story about Divini and how their founders went through adversity
- 10:53with health issues, acne. This is a quality product tastes
- 10:58good. That like has a heart LED
- 11:02mission to help people feel better right.
- 11:06So I love that and I love that I didn't even when I signed on,
- 11:11you know, we were partnering and like you set this beautiful
- 11:14shirt and all that. I didn't know all of that.
- 11:18So it's really we're going to talk about your faith journey.
- 11:22Didn't didn't know all of this. So it's really cool.
- 11:25I'm glad you know now, especially being part of our
- 11:27crew. I'm.
- 11:28Just like, wow, it just keeps happening where I'm like, no
- 11:33way. I didn't even mean to talk about
- 11:35God with you guys and here we are now you brought it.
- 11:37I'm like, wait, what? You know, so I'm gonna brag
- 11:42about you right now, which I always and I tell my guest I
- 11:45love doing this, having someone talk about you and how awesome
- 11:48you are while you're on camera and you just have to kind of sit
- 11:51there and talk about it. So Miranda Young, I'm gonna put
- 11:55all of your info in the show notes, of course, so people can
- 11:59follow you, get to know you, all the things.
- 12:02So you are a singer-songwriter performer, you are doing many
- 12:09things. You are also obviously working
- 12:12for Divini Honey, Kombucha tea, running their social media,
- 12:16helping shape like that vision, which is super cool.
- 12:21Tell me. And then we're going to get to
- 12:22the faith journey that's coming up in a few minutes.
- 12:26Tell me about the performer side of you.
- 12:30How did have you always known you love to sing?
- 12:32And I listen to UFO by the way. My latest song.
- 12:37Makeup, I was like, yeah, and I'm only protecting the service,
- 12:42but like, I was like, hey, I can get down to this right now.
- 12:46Yeah, Oh my God, this like one of my favorite performing is has
- 12:51been one of my favorite things since I was a teenager.
- 12:56I am from. So right now where I'm I'm
- 12:59recording this podcast. I'm actually in Alabama.
- 13:03I live in Phoenix, but this is where my family is from.
- 13:06My dad was born here. And so I come from a very
- 13:10talented group of people, which I love to thank like my
- 13:14grandmother for just these these genes of like being vocally.
- 13:20And I didn't start to discover that until I was like maybe
- 13:261415, like maybe between the ages of like 13 to 15 is when I
- 13:31would, like sing. And I'd be like, do I sing good
- 13:34like I would? I.
- 13:37Would just like sit in my room and be like, OK, I, I feel like
- 13:41I can kind of sing. And so I was playing softball
- 13:46for like 7 years from like 4th grade to high school, freshman
- 13:51year of high school. But that freshman year I had met
- 13:55like a couple girls and they were in show choir and they
- 13:57would like tell me about it and like what they would do.
- 14:00And I was like, bro, that's like, that's so cool.
- 14:02I love the sounds of that because I never really was
- 14:05involved in anything like musical.
- 14:07And so I was like, this is awesome.
- 14:10Like I'm going to put you guys a show and I would check it out.
- 14:13And like I fell in love with it. It was basically Glee.
- 14:16Like if you've ever seen Glee, it was exactly that.
- 14:18I. Love.
- 14:20It no, it's like the best show ever.
- 14:22So it was Glee in real life. And so so they were holding
- 14:26auditions for my sophomore year. And I was like, I'm just gonna
- 14:29try. And like, I remember I went.
- 14:31I was shaking. Like my hands were shaking.
- 14:34My knees were shaking. All the things.
- 14:36Literally, and I just, I got up there and I just sang and then I
- 14:41ended up making it on the team, which was not like, it wasn't
- 14:45like, Oh my God, we're super elite.
- 14:47Like, no, not everyone's gonna make.
- 14:49It for anything to to to face that fear and like go yeah
- 14:53anyway. Mm hmm.
- 14:55So I did, I got on and then my sophomore year I like started
- 14:59getting into it and I was like, Oh my God, like I really like
- 15:01this. And that's when I started like
- 15:03really get into singing. And it was like singing and
- 15:07dancing. So this is, I feel like the
- 15:10pivotal years of what kind of shaped me to be the performer
- 15:13that I am today. Because it was like, we would
- 15:15have to have facials and we would have to dance and sing at
- 15:19the same time. And like, how do you manage
- 15:21that? Like you're literally all of it.
- 15:23And so I fell in love with it. It took me into musical theater.
- 15:28I started doing some musical theater.
- 15:29So I kind of now had like acting behind it as well and just like
- 15:34the whole performance of it all. And ultimately I fell in love
- 15:37with just entertaining and putting on a show.
- 15:40And so I kind of built that up there.
- 15:44I learned how to dance. I could not dance when I first
- 15:46started. Like I was horrible at it.
- 15:49But over the next couple years, like, because I fell in love
- 15:52with it, I put everything into it and I became pretty good at
- 15:58it. We had, we would go around and
- 16:01like compete as well. So like our, our team would go
- 16:04and we'd compete at like different competitions and
- 16:06stuff. And like that also put a little
- 16:09bit of pressure on us to make you want to be better because
- 16:11it's like now we're, you know, competing for a trophy.
- 16:14And so I, I have like this little competitiveness and like
- 16:18this little performance aspect to me.
- 16:21And so I ended up doing like some musicals after high school
- 16:25when I graduated and stuff, but like, never like anything
- 16:29Alabama. In Alabama.
- 16:31No, in San Diego. So I was born in San Diego,
- 16:34Yeah. And that's where I grew.
- 16:36Up. OK, got it.
- 16:37OK, cool. Yeah, So I ended up doing some
- 16:40stuff like that and then after a while I would just literally
- 16:44sing for fun, like in my room and on TikTok.
- 16:48I would make like Tik toks of me singing.
- 16:49I would go on TikTok live and sing and stuff.
- 16:52And then that was like a couple years down the line, I ended up
- 16:56meeting my first producer, started making music, wasn't
- 17:00like super in love with what we were making, but also I was
- 17:03super new to it. So I didn't really know like
- 17:06anything about the music industry.
- 17:08But something about it just wasn't clicking with me.
- 17:11I was like, I don't love what I'm doing.
- 17:13I don't love the shows that I'm performing at.
- 17:15It's not really my audience or my vibe.
- 17:18And then that's when I met Jack in like Complete 180, started
- 17:22making the music that I like to make.
- 17:24Started working with a songwriter that liked the music
- 17:27that I liked so we could make music that I actually like like.
- 17:31Really. Cream together.
- 17:33Exactly. So it was just amazing.
- 17:36I I always think back to just those moments when it's me, Jack
- 17:39and Maddie are songwriter just in the studio, like feeling the
- 17:44chemistry of the things that we're making and it's super
- 17:47exciting. So I've done like a couple
- 17:49performances here and there. I definitely feel like God has
- 17:54been guiding this musical journey because I don't think my
- 17:57talent would ever be put to waste, especially since the Lord
- 18:01knows how much I do love it. And I mean, it's a God-given
- 18:06talent, of course, so he'll put it to work when it needs to be
- 18:09put to work. You know what's funny?
- 18:12Like you say, it's I heard something that God, God, your,
- 18:17your talent OR whatever, you know, everyone has that one
- 18:20thing. Maybe they haven't found it yet,
- 18:22but they're like, gosh, you're so good at that.
- 18:24Like it seems so hard for someone else and you're like,
- 18:27how do you just do that? That God gives you that gift,
- 18:32and then what you that's his gift to you, and then what you
- 18:35do with it is your gift back to Him.
- 18:39Wait, I love that. And I.
- 18:41Was like, you're like, oh, thank you so much.
- 18:44Well, I'm gonna here. And then he's like, oh, like
- 18:47it's I was like, oh, and everyone's is different.
- 18:51Yeah, yeah. You get a specific 1.
- 18:53I feel that you do. And some people I think are
- 18:58like, oh, but I don't have that one.
- 19:00And it's like, well, that's not your like you.
- 19:01Have. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:04Oh, that's so special. I've never even thought about
- 19:06it. Like.
- 19:06That I was like that just figured I'm like wait someone
- 19:09told me that in like a Bible study I'm.
- 19:10Like, yeah. Like wait, what?
- 19:13And he probably loves to watch us use our gifts too.
- 19:16Well, I know he does love to watch us use our gifts.
- 19:18Totally. So tell me, OK.
- 19:20And God's like, hey, talk about me now.
- 19:22You've been, that's all. So was was as you were like
- 19:28performing, right? What did God show up early in
- 19:32your life? And I'm gonna let you continue
- 19:34your story, or was that sort of later on?
- 19:38So I had been going to church as like a young kid.
- 19:44I think I remember, I, I mean, I grew up in a Catholic Church and
- 19:50so I was like first Holy Communion, like confirmation,
- 19:55stuff like that. But like I just never really had
- 19:59a connection with God in those moments because I was so young.
- 20:03And it was also taught to me in like a very like school like.
- 20:09It's great. Yeah, and I also grew up, so I'm
- 20:14like Mexican and also black, and I'm mixed.
- 20:17And so I grew up speaking Spanish.
- 20:18And so I'd go to, like, Catholic Church and it would be in
- 20:21Spanish. And it's like, half the time I
- 20:23didn't even know what they were saying.
- 20:25And so I just didn't have that connection with God.
- 20:29And it just felt like, I'm just here like, you know, doing what
- 20:32a kid's supposed to do. And like, that's fine.
- 20:35And kind of later over the next couple years, once I was like in
- 20:393rd grade, I remember my mom started going to like a non
- 20:43denominational Christian Church and I would go to like the youth
- 20:48group and like I'd get along with the kids and like, you
- 20:50know, it was fun. But like I still never really
- 20:53had that connection with God. And it was like, I just didn't
- 20:57understand it. Like, I, it was really hard for
- 21:00me to like, grasp the concept of like what, who God is and like
- 21:04at the same time related to the Bible.
- 21:06Like I didn't really understand the Bible either.
- 21:08I was like, what even is this thing?
- 21:10And so for the next, you know, decade of my life until I was
- 21:1618, I would just go to this church because my mom told me to
- 21:19get up on Sundays and go to church.
- 21:21And like, there was never really a connection with God.
- 21:24It was just, this is what you're supposed to do.
- 21:27And so after I turned 18 and I was able to make my own
- 21:30decisions, I stopped going to church.
- 21:32And like, I just, I had this like next couple years of
- 21:36battling with like, who is God? Like?
- 21:39Is he even real? For a little bit I was like,
- 21:41there is no God like, or I don't know what God is.
- 21:44And then I got into kind of this spiritual universe type of like
- 21:50vibe where I was like crystals and like, yeah.
- 21:55Like, tell me about what's gonna happen today.
- 21:57Right. Like play kicks and stuff like
- 22:00that. And so all of that.
- 22:02And then so I kind of was just like a spiritual girly for a
- 22:06little bit. And then that kind of died down
- 22:09and little by little, like this was really only like a year or
- 22:13so ago, I like started feeling very called to like pray.
- 22:19Like that was the first initial thing I remember was like just
- 22:22feeling called to start praying more.
- 22:24And so I was like, OK, so I would just kind of like be like,
- 22:28hey, God, like, you know, I didn't know how to pray.
- 22:31Not that there is a right way to pray, but like I just felt
- 22:34called to like speak to him. And so I would, you know, just
- 22:37pray more. And then eventually this was
- 22:42about July of last year, like between the months of like March
- 22:47and like July and my dad ended up getting diagnosed with
- 22:52cancer. And so like, it was very, it was
- 22:56such a struggle because my dad lived over here.
- 22:59And so like, I just felt kind of alone during it.
- 23:03And so like, and I, I felt honestly helpless.
- 23:07And so that's when my prayer really started to like ignite
- 23:11because I was like, just God, please, like, please save my
- 23:15dad. Like please, you know, be there
- 23:18for my dad and. Breathing again if you can just
- 23:21save my dad. Exactly.
- 23:23Exactly. Yeah.
- 23:24And so he ended up having surgery.
- 23:28He had bladder cancer, so he had his entire bladder removed.
- 23:33And so that night before his surgery, I was here and I was
- 23:37just praying, praying, praying. And like the morning we woke up,
- 23:41we went to the hospital. My one of my uncles is actually
- 23:44a pastor. And so we all got together and
- 23:47we just prayed over each other and that's when it started to
- 23:50like click that I was feeling the Spirit of God.
- 23:53Like I was like, okay, God is like he's working like he's
- 23:57here, he's comforting us, like he's working in my life.
- 23:59I don't know much about him, but like, I feel his presence.
- 24:03And so that really changed things for me because it was
- 24:08like one of those moments where it was like, this is gonna
- 24:10change my entire life, whatever way it goes.
- 24:14Like, if this doesn't go the way that I hope it does, like my
- 24:17life is going to change. And so I really just leaned on
- 24:21him and I was like, you know, I just need to pray to you when I
- 24:25know that you're real now, you know, I can feel you.
- 24:28So my dad ended up getting the surgery being completely fine.
- 24:32He's now cancer free, which is absolutely amazing.
- 24:37Everything happened just in the most beautiful way that it could
- 24:42have. Like in this circumstance, you
- 24:45know, like he he's Ava. So he got his entire surgery
- 24:49paid for and was taken care of in the VA hospital.
- 24:52And now he has benefits and everything is like extremely
- 24:56just provided by God's provision.
- 24:59And so the next couple months go on and so little by little I'm
- 25:03like, OK, now I'm praying and like I'm feeling the Spirit of
- 25:05God. And I remember one day I'm on
- 25:09the phone with my best friend and I was like, dude, I don't
- 25:13know, like what's going on? But like, I've been praying more
- 25:16and she goes, dude, me too. And so I was like, I was like,
- 25:25wait, are you like, I like, I think we just kind of sat there
- 25:28and I was like, what was that? You're like, wait, we just,
- 25:30we're going, you're going through the same type of.
- 25:32Feeling. Yeah, exactly that.
- 25:34I was like, wait, so you're like feeling this too?
- 25:37And she's like, yeah, like I've been praying and I don't know
- 25:39why. And I was like, me neither.
- 25:41And so we then started praying together.
- 25:44So we would like be with each other and we'd be like, let's
- 25:47just pray, I guess. Like, literally in that way,
- 25:50like. Let's you're like, let us pray.
- 25:52Like capitalism. Sure.
- 25:54Yeah, so we would pray and then eventually she had gotten
- 25:59invited to a church that was that's like in Tempe, her
- 26:05cousin. And so her cousin was like, come
- 26:07to this church. Like, you know, if you want.
- 26:08She's like, yeah, like I'll go to this church.
- 26:11And so she went. I was actually out of town.
- 26:13I think it was literally over Thanksgiving break.
- 26:16And so like a year from. Last year.
- 26:19Yeah, wow. So she went to the church and
- 26:22then she called me and she was like, dude, when you come back,
- 26:25like we have to go to this church.
- 26:27And I was like, OK, so I got back.
- 26:29I went to the church with her and I was like, Oh my God, like
- 26:32I love this church. Like it was filled with people
- 26:35our age. It was so welcoming.
- 26:39It didn't feel like I was being pressured into a religion.
- 26:42It more so just felt like being able to dwell with the Lord in
- 26:46this space with people that also want to dwell with him.
- 26:49The warship was like so beautiful.
- 26:51I remember the first couple months that I would go to
- 26:53church, I would just bawl like every time we would worship
- 26:58because I just, and come to find out it was just the Holy Spirit,
- 27:04you know, at work in our lives and healing us from the inside
- 27:07and just being within us. And so we would go to church
- 27:12every Sunday. We started to fall in love with
- 27:14it. We started doing Bible study and
- 27:17we really just became extremely consumed by like our faith and
- 27:22getting to know Jesus. And so a couple months later,
- 27:25we're sitting in the service and then they announced that they're
- 27:28going to do baptisms on in like February.
- 27:32So this was literally only like 2 months later.
- 27:34And so we sat there and we like kind of looked at each other and
- 27:38we left the service and I was like, I think I want to get
- 27:41baptized. And she was like, I want to get
- 27:43baptized, too. And so we're like, OK, amazing.
- 27:47So then the baptisms come, and we got baptized together.
- 27:51And like, that day was just, we were standing on the side, you
- 27:54know, waiting for our turn. And it was just the whole line
- 27:58of people. It was all people in their 20s,
- 28:00which I think was so special in itself because it's like this
- 28:04revolution of young people turning to Jesus is so powerful
- 28:09right now and God is doing something people with people in
- 28:13our generation. And so it was just all people in
- 28:15their 20s and we're all lined up against the wall waiting for
- 28:18returns. And we're just looking back at
- 28:20each other and everybody's just sobbing, crying, like just
- 28:23sobbing, crying, like so excited.
- 28:25And you'd go up in there in the in the tub or whatever, and they
- 28:29would baptize you and the whole audience would just be cheering
- 28:33for every single person. And like, it was so extremely
- 28:36magical and so holy and so beautiful.
- 28:40And so ever since then, like, it has been a very beautiful
- 28:45journey with God. I can't say that and we
- 28:49everybody that is a Christian hopefully knows this like you
- 28:53turn to God. It doesn't mean your life is
- 28:55going to be easy like you think that maybe as a new Christian.
- 29:01Like in baptized. Sounds good, right?
- 29:03Like we're done. Yeah, you're like, everything's
- 29:04going to be great now. Everything's awesome.
- 29:06And it's like you are tested more than you've ever thought to
- 29:10be tested could have been tested.
- 29:11And like, you know, you start to fall into sin.
- 29:15You fall into temptation, you feel guilt, you feel shame.
- 29:17But then you turn back to the Lord and his grace and his glory
- 29:20is so redeeming that it is all worth it in the end.
- 29:25And like I always try to remind myself, we are all fallen.
- 29:29We were all born sinners. And it's like, you know, we're
- 29:32not perfect, but in the eyes of the Lord, you know, he has so
- 29:36much grace and glory for us. And so this past year has just
- 29:39been getting to know him and his grace and his glory.
- 29:43And also important to me has been becoming more biblically
- 29:47literate, just getting to know his word and like, you know,
- 29:51being able to connect with him on that level of like, who are
- 29:55you? Like, what happened?
- 29:56Why are we here in this way? And so, yeah, now every day,
- 30:01every Sunday, we go to church, every Thursday we do Bible
- 30:04study. And over these last couple
- 30:07months, it's like I've met more and more people that are just
- 30:10following Christ. And like I, I just am so, so
- 30:15grateful that he is revealing himself at this time to people
- 30:20because I didn't feel that way when we were 15 years old.
- 30:23So I know something is is working and something is
- 30:27happening and I'm just so blessed to be able to be a part
- 30:31of it. You can feel like the way you
- 30:34talk about it too, like you light up when you talk about it.
- 30:38And it's so thank you for sharing everything so candidly
- 30:42too, because I feel like I was raised Catholic too.
- 30:46And I just did an episode about how, you know, I have reverence
- 30:49for all religions, like all like, you know, you do you type
- 30:54of thing. And Catholicism is the
- 30:56foundation of like what I learned.
- 30:58But I'm telling you, there's something about that.
- 31:04You walk into a holy space like that and you can't the music.
- 31:09I'm like, what is happening here?
- 31:11Yeah, yeah. I don't even know what I'm
- 31:14feeling, but when you find the right church that you connect
- 31:18with, wow, these people are so nice.
- 31:22Yeah, and still. Genuine care.
- 31:24Yeah, absolutely. That's exactly what we feel in
- 31:27our church. And like, I, I'm, I love them.
- 31:30Like they're really my family, which is amazing.
- 31:34Well, and like you said, it's funny, we have a very similar
- 31:37timeline because I got baptized. You got baptized in February.
- 31:42Congratulations. I know I'm saying Congrats
- 31:45because I was just congratulated 3 weeks ago.
- 31:48I'm three weeks. Really.
- 31:51Yeah. God, Congrats.
- 31:54Wait, that's so amazing. Three weeks.
- 31:57Wow 3. Weeks ago, like, I had like
- 31:59epiphanies on this retreat in April.
- 32:02And then I was like, wait, I'm, I'm Catholic.
- 32:05I don't need to. I, I had this thing where I was
- 32:06like, I, I, I don't need to go to like a new church.
- 32:08Like I'm not, I don't fit in with that.
- 32:10Yeah. And then I went to like, you
- 32:13guys are the nicest people I've ever met in my entire life.
- 32:16I'll sure I'll go to your church.
- 32:17And I'm like, oh, look, more nice people.
- 32:21Oh. And like, everybody's open about
- 32:22all these things people are going through.
- 32:24And nothing is like, oh, did you hear?
- 32:26They're just like, oh, so and so is going through this before.
- 32:28Oh, they'll be back next week. Oh, great.
- 32:31Like, no gossipy weird, you know, open.
- 32:38Yeah. So I'm so happy for for like you
- 32:44sharing your journey openly because I feel like especially
- 32:47being raised Catholic, I remember I felt, did you feel
- 32:50like you felt? I felt the same thing where I
- 32:54felt compelled to be baptized. And I was like, wait, I was
- 32:56baptized already. But yeah, I want to like,
- 33:00there's something different. It's my choice.
- 33:02Yeah, exactly that. It felt like it was my choice.
- 33:06It felt like it was on my own terms.
- 33:08That was my full intention when I went back to church and
- 33:12started getting to know God was this is on my terms, like this
- 33:15is my relationship with God. And I'm not, I don't even really
- 33:19necessarily feel like I'm a part of a religion or like I'm like,
- 33:24you know, I'm, I'm labeled in some sort of religion.
- 33:27It's just I believe in God. And that's when I felt like I
- 33:32wanted to get baptized was because I fully believe in
- 33:35Christ and I have no doubt about that.
- 33:39And so I was like, I'm going to give my life to you because I
- 33:42know that you were real and you were working and this just
- 33:45solidifies it. And now with being baptized, you
- 33:49know you are made new as like a believer of Christ and fully
- 33:54just convicted that He is working in our lives and He is
- 33:59our sovereign Lord. Yeah, so interesting that you,
- 34:04when you said you went through a spiritual phase, I did the same
- 34:07where then I was like, I'm not really sure if there's anything
- 34:10but like, you know, I'll be nice to people and cool, but like, I
- 34:12don't know, like I don't know, things seem kind of shitty.
- 34:15Like I'm not really sure about any of that stuff anyway.
- 34:18And then if, like you said, if you told me 20 years ago that
- 34:23I'd be like, no, you're not hosting a podcast where you're
- 34:27talking about God like 2 episodes in a row and like your
- 34:29faith journey, I'd be like, that's probably not you, but
- 34:32like maybe someone else like that's just not like.
- 34:36Your thing? Yeah.
- 34:37Right and. Right No, the same much as we
- 34:44Yeah, I mean, it's insane. Go ahead.
- 34:48I know I'm I'm you a little blurry, but I'm like, you're
- 34:51still there. But yeah, I mean, I feel the
- 34:55same way. We had started our podcast back
- 34:58in January and so that whole I think we took our hiatus like
- 35:04sometime in August or something. So that whole 8 months it was
- 35:08literally us documenting like we were party girls and like we
- 35:12would go out and we would do crazy things.
- 35:14And then, you know, we started to get to know the Lord.
- 35:17And so then you would start to see that within our episodes.
- 35:21And literally some of our last episodes is like us bringing
- 35:24people on talking about God and like navigating how we were
- 35:28going to start talking about God in our podcast when before we
- 35:32would talk about getting blackout drunk on our podcast.
- 35:34And so it just felt very interesting, but at the same
- 35:39time, I've never wanted to erase my past because that's how I
- 35:45became to be saved. And so it was like that was
- 35:49always part of me. The last thing I heard that you
- 35:52said was you kind of went on this journey like we both got
- 35:56baptized saying how you took a hiatus from your podcast.
- 36:01Yes. So we had started our podcast in
- 36:06December of 2024 and so that that was really when we had
- 36:11started just getting back in or getting into our faith.
- 36:14And so these next couple months, it was like we were, you know,
- 36:20recording how we were going through this faith And it was
- 36:23like interesting because we were having episodes of us getting
- 36:27like blackout drunk. And then we would go and you
- 36:30know, 6 months later, it was like, we go to church every
- 36:33Sunday and we work out now. And like, it was just being able
- 36:37to see like what the Lord had been doing in our lives.
- 36:41Like we, our whole habits and lifestyles had changed.
- 36:45And it was not only just we're, you know, religious now, we're,
- 36:49we're Christian now and we go to church.
- 36:51It was like we work out, we eat better, we want to do better for
- 36:55our bodies, like, and it was just such a amazing change
- 36:59because now ultimately I feel like the healthiest, best
- 37:04version of myself. And although, you know, it's
- 37:07like I go to church and this and that, but it's like God has
- 37:10worked in my life in so many aspects.
- 37:13And if you can relate it back to like what happened with my dad
- 37:17and having cancer and stuff like that, it's like now I can really
- 37:20see that I want to be the healthiest version of myself for
- 37:23my family and for my future children.
- 37:26And, you know, whatever that looks like for me.
- 37:29So it's like God has just worked wonders in our lives.
- 37:33And I, I genuinely could not be more grateful, especially with
- 37:37tomorrow being Thanksgiving. I definitely want to give thanks
- 37:41to God. Well, and that's a beautiful and
- 37:45I love that you're being candid about how if anyone is
- 37:48listening, it's OK to change. 100% I'm an advocate for that
- 37:54and it's. OK, and it's not like, and I, I
- 37:58can totally relate to that because I used to be, Oh gosh, I
- 38:02was like such a partier like like black out this and like
- 38:07just like, ah, and then I'm like looking at it now, what I've
- 38:11learned about God, It's not like a shame thing.
- 38:14It's like a hey, like that's not good for you.
- 38:17I don't want you to treat yourself that way, right?
- 38:20Right then. Shame spiraling after I made
- 38:24this body. It's like a God wants you to
- 38:27treat yourself better. It's not like a what are you
- 38:30doing? Like stop.
- 38:31Yeah. It's like, that's not good for
- 38:34you. It's not safe for you.
- 38:35It's not like he also, I feel like he understands and won't
- 38:40condemn you. He'll be like, thank you for
- 38:42coming to me. Like how can I help you with
- 38:44this? Yeah, and a very graceful,
- 38:46glorious how can. I help.
- 38:48You. Not shame you into like feeling
- 38:50bad about that or like he always said, hey, well you're here now
- 38:54so how can I help you moving forward?
- 38:56Exactly, exactly. And I feel the same way I I was
- 39:00saying before we got cut off like I will never be ashamed of
- 39:05my past because at some point he was going to have to save me or
- 39:10he wanted to save me and he always had this plan for me.
- 39:16It's not like he just one day was like at 26 years old, we're
- 39:20going to save Miranda. And it's like, no, like he knew
- 39:24at 26 he was going to save me, but I had to go through all of
- 39:26this birth to 26 years old. And it's like I'm not ashamed of
- 39:32that. I don't ever want to erase my
- 39:34past. I also don't want to erase the
- 39:35mistakes that I make in the future because that's what makes
- 39:38me human and that's what makes my child bored.
- 39:41But I think with the conviction that I know that God is real, I
- 39:46can always turn to him, repent and just, you know, my mistakes
- 39:50and move on. Not saying that I want to
- 39:51intentionally be sinning, but like.
- 39:54Oh, but we're going to. Human exactly so it's very it is
- 39:58candid and I encourage people who are listening to this like
- 40:02don't be afraid to like be human, you know in the midst of
- 40:06your faith journey like. Yeah, that's why God's grace is
- 40:09so forgiving and so glorious, because we are going to make
- 40:13those mistakes. And he knows that.
- 40:15But the greatest thing about him is he doesn't worry about it.
- 40:17He's not sitting there like there's the mistake she made.
- 40:20It's like, come here, come back to me, and we'll get you right.
- 40:25Yes. And oh, by the way, here's this
- 40:28manual called the Bible to guide you.
- 40:31Oh, and I can't really be there physically, so I'm going to send
- 40:35this Holy Spirit and you're going to feel it overtake you by
- 40:40the time where you're like, what was that?
- 40:42Yeah, and. That's how you're going to know.
- 40:45And then you're going to have all these experiences that seem
- 40:48like not logical, but you're like, I know that happened and
- 40:51you won't be able to rationalize it, baby.
- 40:55Like something shifted in the room.
- 40:57Did you feel that? And they're like, I felt it.
- 40:59You're like, OK, just got chills.
- 41:01What's going on? Like, that's yeah.
- 41:04So you mentioned your journey in your past.
- 41:07And I saw, I think it was a when I was doing my research before,
- 41:16you've had mentioned a Reel. And I think you're performing.
- 41:18I think it was an Instagram Reel where it was like, imagine that,
- 41:22that one high school bully. Look at me now, sort of.
- 41:26And I literally was like, I can so relate to that.
- 41:30And I immediately thought of somebody.
- 41:31And I'm like, yeah, it's funny how I think.
- 41:35And so tell me, was that that seems like a form of adversity
- 41:38you might have gone through? Yeah, that's actually a really
- 41:42interesting story. So when I was auditioning for
- 41:47choir my sophomore year, I was like I was saying, playing
- 41:50softball. So that church that I had gone
- 41:55to when I was a kid and my mom would just force me to go one
- 42:00second. Sorry someone.
- 42:02Was calling. Me.
- 42:03That's OK. We'll probably throw loud.
- 42:05Just say one second, I'll call you.
- 42:07Yeah, take me, say my boss. You know, tell him that I'm
- 42:11wearing the shirt and we're. Working right now, we're on the
- 42:15club. Screen and we're not done yet.
- 42:18But anyways, yeah, so that church that I had gone to, the
- 42:23pastor of the church was actually my softball coach.
- 42:27So I would go to church on Sundays, but I would have
- 42:31softball games on Saturdays and my password would be my coach.
- 42:37And so it was very interesting for me because I would see my
- 42:41pastor on the softball field yelling at me on Saturday
- 42:46mornings, and then I'd go to church Sunday morning and he'd
- 42:49be like, peace be with you, Miranda.
- 42:50And it's like, that was like really confusing to me because
- 42:54he would get like, very, like, you know, competitive coach,
- 42:59like on Saturdays. But like, I didn't really know
- 43:01how to identify, like, these different types of emotions from
- 43:07him. So then I'd go to church and I'd
- 43:08be like, you're acting totally different.
- 43:11So it felt very fake to me. Yeah, yeah.
- 43:13Like I was just confused like as a kid with no like frontal lobe
- 43:18development of like, what, you know, like this is so weird.
- 43:22Like I'll you yell at me on Saturdays and then I go and then
- 43:25Sundays you're like totally like God.
- 43:28And so I'm like, Oh my God. So that was like super confusing
- 43:31for me, which is also one of the reasons why I felt like I was a
- 43:35little deterred from like religion because that's that was
- 43:38my foundation of what religion. And so that my pastor, he had a
- 43:46daughter and the daughter was on our softball team.
- 43:48And so her and I were like relatively close because we
- 43:51would like see each other on Saturdays and go to church on
- 43:53Sundays. And we went to high school
- 43:54together. And so we would see each other.
- 43:57And so the day that I had gone to audition for show choir, I
- 44:03had to leave or I had to get to softball practice later because
- 44:07I like went to the audition and then I was like, OK, let me run
- 44:10to practice afterwards. So I went and auditioned, ran to
- 44:12practice, practice, and I got there late.
- 44:14Everybody was already practicing and stuff.
- 44:16And so I like go and I get there and everyone's like, what were
- 44:20you late for? Like it was very like high
- 44:22school cliquey. And I was like, oh, like I was
- 44:26auditioning for choir and they're like, Oh my God.
- 44:29And so they were just literally like laughing in my face.
- 44:32And so then they started like mocking me specifically, like
- 44:35the pastor's daughter was like mocking me to my face, like
- 44:39singing like, you know, horribly like in my face.
- 44:42And then I'd go to practice and then she would always just like
- 44:45be like singing in my face, like mocking me and stuff like that.
- 44:49And that was ultimately the reason why I quit softball cuz
- 44:53I, I feel like I probably could have done both, but like, it was
- 44:56very clicky and like, I felt, I felt bullied by her cuz I was
- 45:01like, you're making fun of me for something that like I want
- 45:04to do Like that's so weird. And so then after that, I was
- 45:09just, I never really like gave it much thought.
- 45:12I was just like, whatever, she's just a bitch.
- 45:16We all got one. Yeah, but it just felt really
- 45:22weird to me because I was like, this is the pastors daughter,
- 45:25she's supposed to be a good girl that's so mean and whatever.
- 45:30And so I just thought it was crazy.
- 45:33Over the next couple years I started to become really good at
- 45:36singing and then, you know, now I make music of my own and stuff
- 45:39and it's like she'll like my stuff, like she'll like my
- 45:42story, she'll like my post. And not too long ago she was
- 45:46like DM me and. I look mad right now.
- 45:49Sorry. I'm like, sorry God, I'm trying,
- 45:52but I'm a little irritated. Yeah, but I.
- 45:54Don't have like any bad blood towards her cuz I at the end of
- 45:59it she was also just a kid like what did she know?
- 46:02And then you are Christ. That's like a, that's a Jesus.
- 46:07That's a Jesus vibe right there. Jesus thing, yeah, I can't
- 46:11imagine what it was like also for her to grow up as a pastor's
- 46:15kid. So I can give her some grace in
- 46:17that sense as well. But, and I think it just built
- 46:22me up to if let's say things do work out and I make it to where
- 46:28I wanna make it Ariana Grande level, whatever, I'm gonna have
- 46:32so many pastors daughters doing that to me.
- 46:35And so it's like, it almost felt like it was just preparation.
- 46:39Not everybody's going to be happy for you.
- 46:42Not everybody's maybe they're jealous of you.
- 46:44That could be a form of jealousy that you're going to do what you
- 46:47want to do and she's can't because she's, you know,
- 46:51following what her parents want her to do or whatever it may be.
- 46:54So I've learned to like come to peace with it.
- 46:57I think for a little bit I like harbored it inside and didn't
- 47:01realize that like it was a problem.
- 47:02And then now that I'm like making shows and making music,
- 47:07I'm like, dude, yeah, like I, I did it.
- 47:10Like I, I can honestly be happy just with what we've done so far
- 47:15because it's like people recognize me as an artist.
- 47:17People recognize me as like a public figure.
- 47:21And so it's like, I did it, bro. I was like a.
- 47:26Vision in your mind, like I can see you in your room being like,
- 47:29huh, let me like, yeah. And then and then to look back
- 47:34on your journey. And then obviously people are a
- 47:38form of adversity like their, their, their negativity.
- 47:42But what I love about that story is that you'd spun it into like
- 47:47the God's grace thing because you're like, but if I'm
- 47:53following the teachings of God, like I have to.
- 47:57We're called to forgive. Yeah.
- 48:00As hard as it is sometimes, and then you start to like see the
- 48:03humanity in everyone. And if I sin, you sin at
- 48:08different ages, then we learn and really everything that it
- 48:13seems like when people project onto you that negativity, it's
- 48:17because and it triggers something in them that is really
- 48:21healed and you actually go, oh man, you're that's unhealed for
- 48:24you. I'm sorry like.
- 48:25Right. Like it was never about me like.
- 48:28It was never about you. It was.
- 48:30Never about me, but I just happened to be the target and
- 48:33the victim of it. But thank God that, you know, I
- 48:37was given the strength to just be able to see it for what it
- 48:39was. I mean, it, it's all of those
- 48:43things. It's literally adventures and
- 48:45adversity. Like it makes you be and come
- 48:48out to be who you were always meant to be and only be grateful
- 48:52for those instances. And it's like it could have been
- 48:55so much worse, but it's like it was just a girl mocking her, the
- 49:00fun of it all. And it's like those girls that
- 49:03were on that softball team now look up to me and I'm like, I
- 49:09can only laugh about it for real.
- 49:10And you're like, good thing I'm nice cuz yeah.
- 49:13You guys are lucky. You guys are really.
- 49:17Lucky, I also played softball too.
- 49:19What was? What position were you?
- 49:21I was outfield and then at the end of my seasons I was playing
- 49:27capture. Hard.
- 49:29So hard. It's hard and honestly, I didn't
- 49:32even really love softball that much.
- 49:33Like, I'm not like the ball. And you're like, listen, like I
- 49:38do so many things that I'm gonna sing that I I was first base
- 49:43first. And there OK, I would I.
- 49:45Played a little 1st and 3rd here.
- 49:47In that, yeah. But what's funny is like, loved
- 49:50softball, but like since I was younger, kind of always had this
- 49:54dream of like broadcasting newsy.
- 49:57Something little did I know is going to be like, you're going
- 49:59to start your own podcast when you're 42 and after you like go
- 50:03through adversity and then like find God halfway through and
- 50:06then it's going to change. But you don't know that yet
- 50:11because you have to go through some stuff.
- 50:13It's. Going to hurt, but it's actually
- 50:15going to really ultimately shape.
- 50:18Like I get it now. Yeah, yeah.
- 50:20And and I I love that testimony in itself of like I'm 42 and I
- 50:26get it now and it's like some I'm 27 and I'm like, when am I
- 50:30going to get it? And it's like it could be
- 50:31another 20 something years. Like literally took and and it's
- 50:36so interesting how different people come to God at different
- 50:38times. Yeah, absolutely.
- 50:41And they all have a story, some story where you're like, and
- 50:45it's always interesting because it's always interesting where
- 50:49you and some people like, I don't know if you have an
- 50:51experience where you like some people hear something, some
- 50:54people literally. And again, people can take this
- 50:57or leave it, but I have friends that my friend's husband sees
- 51:01angels And I'm like, first I was like, what are you talking
- 51:06about? Like hold on.
- 51:08I'm like, no, now I believe you. I believe you because I know
- 51:13them. And I'm like, I'm, I'm like, Oh
- 51:16my gosh, it that, that's really amazing.
- 51:20Yeah, that's. I can't see that.
- 51:22I feel God through like downloads and like feelings.
- 51:25Yeah, yeah. And like, but anyway, I'm just
- 51:29babbling about God, love God. And I know we're I'm, I'm
- 51:34keeping an eye on the time because I was Babble with my
- 51:36guests and I, I know we've touched on and again, this is
- 51:41not the only adversity you've been through some bullying,
- 51:44right? I think a lot of people, parents
- 51:46listening, people listening, aunts, uncles, grandmas
- 51:50listening, know someone or they had themselves have been or are
- 51:54being bullied in some way by maybe a friend of me, a Co
- 52:00worker, who knows. Do you have any?
- 52:03If you could go back, you got through it obviously, but if you
- 52:06could spend one hour with your 16 year old self or 15 year old
- 52:10self right after that happened, what would you tell yourself and
- 52:16take your time? Like if you just had like quick
- 52:19coffee break with your 16 year old self.
- 52:23I honestly I would just say like it gets better.
- 52:29Like. It's going to get better.
- 52:31And I think in more ways unimaginable than you could have
- 52:36ever even predicted, imagined. Just keep going.
- 52:41Don't stop. I would give her a hug and I
- 52:46would just tell her like you are loved, like you are worthy, you
- 52:50are loved and just follow your dreams.
- 52:53Just do the things that you want to do.
- 52:56I have a little sister, she's 13 and she there was a situation
- 53:02where she was getting bullied by a little girl and I was like,
- 53:06I'm not, Nope. I don't stand for it.
- 53:09So you're like inner child and older sister reawakened here I
- 53:12was. Like I'm not here for it.
- 53:15And so I actually had a conversation with a little girl
- 53:18and I was like, you don't do that.
- 53:20Like you don't do that. I was like, if you don't want
- 53:22people to talk to you like that, you don't talk to people like
- 53:25that. And like I it almost felt like I
- 53:28was like talking to like my bully.
- 53:32Oh, I guarantee during it you're like, wow, this is a moment
- 53:35right now. Yeah, and like my stepmom had to
- 53:37be like you were a little. And it's like, but I know like I
- 53:41wasn't because it's like. That is not Yeah, they need it.
- 53:45And a lot of the times. They're not getting it.
- 53:49Coming from like, you know, troubled homes or like troubled
- 53:52situations or they just don't get the things that they need as
- 53:56like kids, which is why they take it out on other kids.
- 53:58Of course, sad. But it's like the kids that are
- 54:02getting it don't deserve it. And so unless your parent is
- 54:05going to tell you that that's not OK, like somebody needs to,
- 54:08yes. And I just think anybody that
- 54:11goes through any type of bullying or like whether you
- 54:14are, you know, a young kid, an adult, cuz it happens literally.
- 54:19Anytime. In life, it's just like, it's
- 54:22not like I think that's, that's the phrase of it all is like
- 54:25it's never about you. Like it's.
- 54:27Never about you, it's always about what they're going
- 54:30through. And all you can do is just give
- 54:31them grace and pray on it and just ask that God heals whatever
- 54:36is causing them to, you know, act this way.
- 54:40Because it ain't God that's making them act that way.
- 54:43Whoa, it's never from God if it's confusing, condemning,
- 54:48manipulative, you know, up and down.
- 54:51Like when you're saying like when someone's one way and they
- 54:53act another, I'm like, that's like God telling.
- 54:55It's just you got to use that discernment, right?
- 54:59But no, like I always feel too like kids need to know.
- 55:03And if someone's not telling them, like, hey, I'll be a I'll,
- 55:06I'll let you know. Yeah.
- 55:12So I, there's been a, a theme of you facing things that that
- 55:19while you were shaking, you did the audition while you were like
- 55:24facing adversity, like, you know, bullies in school, I
- 55:28think. And it seems like now you're
- 55:31going through something that I've am also going through this
- 55:34like identity shift of like I feel called to lead everything I
- 55:40do, whether it's my software job, podcast, parenting, dog
- 55:46sitting like through the lens of God.
- 55:48And what does that look like? And like, whoa, I don't really
- 55:53want to do that anymore. But like I'm not shaming myself
- 55:56for it but like changing. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:01So it's beautiful. It's just like a beautiful
- 56:03message. I think that like God can come
- 56:06at any time. And I, I do want to tie this
- 56:10whole thing to what you're doing now, which is tell us about what
- 56:15you're excited about in your performance singing career, in
- 56:19your career with Davini, in your role as like somebody talking
- 56:25about God, Like, tell me what you're excited about.
- 56:28Honestly, I am and have been for these last couple weeks.
- 56:33I am excited to just be totally surrendered to God's plan.
- 56:39I don't know. And I think I've, this has been
- 56:42my issue is I've tried to hold so much pressure for like what
- 56:46the future is going to look like.
- 56:47But at this point in time, right now, I've really given myself to
- 56:52God's plan because I quit a job that was paying me close to six
- 56:58figures, a yeah, 6 figures a year to now work for this
- 57:02company that's a startup that there is no really no security.
- 57:08Yeah, it's an adventure. It really is, but I fully
- 57:12believe in it. And I've really had to trust
- 57:15God's provision because now I'm like, you know, I'm doing
- 57:18something that I really care about.
- 57:20And that very much feels like you put me here to be a leader
- 57:27and to show, you know, these guys also like who God is.
- 57:31And like before I started working for Divini, we were, or
- 57:34when I first started working for Divini, we were never having
- 57:38conversations about God. And then couple months in one of
- 57:41them, you know, Mason would start to ask about God.
- 57:44And then most recently Cameron, which is the other founder, had
- 57:48started coming to church with us.
- 57:50And it's like now we all kind of sit here and we'll like pray
- 57:53before, like big investor meetings and like we'll pray
- 57:57over just like the things that are happening.
- 57:59And so I feel like God is using me and I would rather him use me
- 58:06and put me through, you know, I would rather have just as much
- 58:10money I need in my bank account to pay bills and get groceries
- 58:13then have 6 figures a year to, you know, be used by him in
- 58:18order to show people who God is. And I think that's always been
- 58:23the purpose for me. And I think with my music as
- 58:26well, like I'm not actively working on my music, but like I
- 58:31had mentioned before, God is not just going to let my talent go
- 58:34to waste. He loves when I use my talent.
- 58:37And I think that he is just, he has it all in a plan and I'm
- 58:41just, I'm ready for it. Whenever you want to make
- 58:44something happen. I my, my mind is blown again
- 58:48right now. I just can't believe that I
- 58:50didn't know that the founders and you guys and like I just
- 58:53love. I love that that like.
- 58:57I mean, it was, well, it's all been part of his.
- 58:59Plan. It's like I'm going to introduce
- 59:00him, but I'm not going to tell him at first.
- 59:02Yeah, I know. I was like, hey, you want to be
- 59:05an ambassador, like. Yeah, He's like, I'm going to,
- 59:08I'm not going to tell her that they love to talk about God.
- 59:11I'm going to tell her about a month in, I'm going to come on
- 59:14and they're going to have like this moment and like, and I'm
- 59:17like, got me, Got me, you know, it's fun.
- 59:21Like, yeah, well, I just, I feel like that is a great way to like
- 59:28to put a pause on our beginning of our many conversations.
- 59:32I think both as partners with Divini, with as friends, as I
- 59:37love to say this now, as like sisters in Christ.
- 59:39You know, I love that. I love that we're all brothers
- 59:42and sisters and like we can all, like, I just love the community
- 59:48of believers that you connect with all over the world.
- 59:52It's cool. It's really cool.
- 59:54It's divine it. Really, right.
- 59:56It's divine. It's divine.
- 1:00:00It's so good. I'm getting all the chills
- 1:00:02whenever I'm getting so many chills and it's like not cold in
- 1:00:04here. I'm like.
- 1:00:06I don't know I've I've gotten chills a lot during.
- 1:00:09This. I know this was all just this.
- 1:00:12This was finally planned. Right before Thanksgiving, I am
- 1:00:15so thankful to have you. I'm so thankful.
- 1:00:19Julian, Jack, Julio, Iglesias, Julio, I call them all the
- 1:00:23things. Producer dude brought us

- 1:00:54this later, you can always use Brianne's code.
- 1:00:57Oh, I'm sorry, Brianne 10? You mean they can use my
- 1:01:02discount code Brianne 10 to buy Davini?
- 1:01:06Yeah, and check out our new merch catalog.
- 1:01:08We have a whole bunch of new merch that just dropped.
- 1:01:10So check it out, you guys. Hey, you know, I just
- 1:01:15accidentally wore this. No, I, I, I love that we got a
- 1:01:19peek into more about honey kombucha tea with a mission
- 1:01:24with, with, with founders that are like doing that soul
- 1:01:28searching and like it's, it's just so much goodness.
- 1:01:31Like I love to support products that or just trying to make
- 1:01:36people in the world feel better, like physically, mentally,
- 1:01:40spiritually, right? I agree, Miranda, you're
- 1:01:45amazing. I can't wait to listen to more
- 1:01:47of your music. I can't wait one day when my
- 1:01:51dream is have 100 episode party and have a mix of Jack DJ ING
- 1:01:58and singers like you. I would love for you to perform
- 1:02:02at the 100. Party, I'm up there.
- 1:02:05I've already had the party in my head, like I can see it all.
- 1:02:09And this will be episode 69 on Sunday, so we're 31 away.
- 1:02:15OK, I'll be there. Yeah, I'm already booked.
- 1:02:18I'm in thinking about what you'd like to sing if you're available
- 1:02:21for hire, I'll check with your agents and we're.
- 1:02:24Making a set list now. OK, amazing.
- 1:02:27And I'm not going to put you on the spot and ask you to sing.
- 1:02:32I'm going to ask because I mean, if you want to, you can sing us
- 1:02:36out, but if you don't, we can ascend.
- 1:02:38We need to make you a Jingle. We need to make you a Jingle.
- 1:02:42Yes. We can be like adventures in
- 1:02:45adversity or something like. That, and the Jingle was born.
- 1:02:51To Jack, take that and and make it into something.
- 1:02:55So you sing it really well. Then I go he, he.
- 1:03:00It's perfect. It's born.
- 1:03:01I'm, I'm not that everyone can sing, right?
- 1:03:06I'm not, you know, a recording artist.
- 1:03:09Let's just put it that way. So Jack can help.
- 1:03:12He can help. He can help.
- 1:03:13Well, Miranda, happy Thanksgiving.
- 1:03:15A day early and sending love to Alabama.
- 1:03:18My husband's from Tennessee. I love Southern people.
- 1:03:21Yeah, y'all are, y'all are fixing.
- 1:03:24Y'all are good people you know. Amazing.
- 1:03:26Oh well thank you for having me. This has been such a tree.
- 1:03:29I'm like just feeling so full right now.
- 1:03:31So it's been the best pre Thanksgiving little
- 1:03:34conversation. Hey, thank you.
- 1:03:37And TuneIn, I see I'm working on my closing here.
- 1:03:43Juliano's like work on it. Oh my gosh.
- 1:03:46Remember to like subscribe, comment, visit to Vinny, get
- 1:03:51your honey kombucha tea, visit Miranda's.
- 1:03:54Let's all just hang out. How about that?
- 1:03:56Lots of closer right there.
