- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the birds is back what's going on everybody it's
- 0:15Speaker 1: jeff mosher it's adam caplan the eagles are playing on
- 0:18Speaker 1: monday night week seven all right so that means you
- 0:21Speaker 1: get an extra day uh during the week and you
- 0:24Speaker 1: don't really start practice of course until thursday so let
- 0:27Speaker 1: me set the scene for you adam caplan right you're
- 0:30Speaker 1: either the eagles or you're a diehard eagles fan and
- 0:33Speaker 1: here's the situation your team's lost four in a row
- 0:36Speaker 1: you are spiraling downward however You're looking for something to
- 0:40Speaker 1: be positive about, right? You got your division rivals who
- 0:43Speaker 1: are struggling and way healthier, all right? You get an
- 0:46Speaker 1: extra day to prepare and to lick your wounds, all right?
- 0:50Speaker 1: You are entering what we could say is the softer
- 0:53Speaker 1: part of the schedule, three straight division games, everybody struggling,
- 0:56Speaker 1: even the Giants record as a facade. All you're looking
- 0:59Speaker 1: for on that Thursday, that first practice is is a
- 1:03Speaker 1: glimmer of hope that the injury report gives you some
- 1:07Speaker 1: kind of feeling that, hey, maybe things are going to
- 1:10Speaker 1: start to turn around just from a health standpoint. And bam,
- 1:15Speaker 1: you get hit between the eyes. Now, we never make
- 1:18Speaker 1: that much of the first injury report. There are some
- 1:20Speaker 1: positives we'll talk about as we get into this thing.
- 1:24Speaker 1: But when you look at it overall, I'm sure fans
- 1:26Speaker 1: will be very exasperated by some of the names that
- 1:28Speaker 1: they're seeing back on the injury report and not at practice.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Not only are some of these guys still in the
- 1:33Speaker 2: injury report, now they have new injuries. I caught that
- 1:37Speaker 2: with Landon Dickerson with pectoral. That was added. That's not
- 1:41Speaker 2: good for this week. They were hoping to have him
- 1:43Speaker 2: back this week. We'll see what happens. It's not great.
- 1:47Speaker 2: We've got to get into the transactions. Pretty interesting what
- 1:51Speaker 2: they did on Thursday. One, shaking my head, we have
- 1:56Speaker 2: some pretty interesting information on Evan Neal. We'll get to
- 1:59Speaker 2: that later. But But overall, there are some positives. Some
- 2:05Speaker 2: injuries were removed from some guys who had two injuries.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So we'll get into that and explain what that means
- 2:10Speaker 2: and what we hear and what we know.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I don't want to overreact. It's just
- 2:13Speaker 1: the first injury report. But the reality is they did
- 2:17Speaker 1: have an extra day, and you were trying to hope
- 2:19Speaker 1: to see that there were no pop-ups. But last week,
- 2:21Speaker 1: for example, Devontae Smith had the pop-up toe to go
- 2:25Speaker 1: along with the hamstring, but he wound up playing. And
- 2:28Speaker 1: then he played and had a good game. And obviously
- 2:30Speaker 1: his reps were limited. But then here we go. First
- 2:33Speaker 1: injury report for week seven. He's back on. No toe,
- 2:37Speaker 1: but he did not practice Thursday because of a hamstring.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And then you see Dallas Goddard doesn't practice because of
- 2:44Speaker 1: a knee injury. And Dontavian Wicks doesn't practice with an ankle.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Remember it was hamstring and now it's ankle. And, man, Adam,
- 2:51Speaker 1: that's three major pass weapons that on your first– Practice
- 2:56Speaker 1: you have some skepticism about right there.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Well, keep Darius Cooper, if you have him in fantasy.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Do not cut him for any reason.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Because he's what we call a receiver handcuff. He's the
- 3:05Speaker 2: first guy because he plays outside and can play inside.
- 3:08Speaker 2: With Lemmon, he really can't play outside. So they just
- 3:11Speaker 2: don't have the depth. The staff doesn't like to play
- 3:14Speaker 2: Hollywood Brown for whatever reason. They just don't see it. Right.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Though he had a full practice for what it's worth
- 3:19Speaker 2: on Thursday. So understand something with Wicks. He got hurt
- 3:21Speaker 2: in the last game. He left, came back. Give the
- 3:24Speaker 2: guy credit. He turned his ankle. He could see her clearly.
- 3:26Speaker 2: He caught the ball, went down. Then he got up,
- 3:29Speaker 2: and he's like, oh. So that's not good. And Devontae
- 3:35Speaker 2: Smith has had this hamstring injury for three months. He's
- 3:37Speaker 2: had it since the first week of August.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Just won't go away.
- 3:42Speaker 2: That's where we're at here with this situation. It's not good.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Britton Covey, by the way, you probably saw him get
- 3:49Speaker 2: his shoulder looked at in the sideline. He's their punt
- 3:51Speaker 2: kickoff returner. He'll play. He was able to get his
- 3:54Speaker 2: reps in. But the big ones are Dallas Goddard. Now,
- 3:58Speaker 2: what we don't know is the same knee, the same
- 4:00Speaker 2: MCL sprain. We don't know that.
- 4:02Speaker 1: He was added.
- 4:04Speaker 2: He didn't practice Thursday. A couple guys, Drew Kendall, he
- 4:08Speaker 2: didn't take all the reps at center. That's not great
- 4:11Speaker 2: with the knee. He warmed up, thumbs down. It clearly
- 4:16Speaker 2: was not right. He couldn't play. He was just available
- 4:19Speaker 2: in an emergency situation. If he had to play, he
- 4:22Speaker 2: could have done it, but he wasn't going to play.
- 4:24Speaker 2: He wasn't ready. So as you said, with extended time,
- 4:26Speaker 2: you're hoping that he would take all the reps. He didn't.
- 4:29Speaker 2: But again, it's only one day. They have two days
- 4:30Speaker 2: of practice Friday and Saturdays at light one. A Sunday walkthrough.
- 4:35Speaker 2: A Sunday walkthrough. You wonder if they'll have it at
- 4:36Speaker 2: the stadium. I know they've done that before because they're
- 4:40Speaker 2: going to play at home Monday night. So the offensive
- 4:42Speaker 2: injuries that we'll be watching, we'll get to Saquon Barkley
- 4:46Speaker 2: in a minute, is Devontae Smith. still with a hamstring
- 4:51Speaker 2: issue that he's had now going on three months. Wicks
- 4:55Speaker 2: with the ankle, you saw it in the game. Goddard
- 4:59Speaker 2: back on it with the knee and Drew Kendall. That's
- 5:03Speaker 2: me when you really look at it. It's a shame
- 5:06Speaker 2: because you've got this quarterback who's just trying to get right.
- 5:11Speaker 2: They had a pretty good target group last week. The
- 5:14Speaker 2: pass protection wasn't very good. And here we are. you know, you, you,
- 5:20Speaker 2: they don't know who they're going to have yet. And now,
- 5:21Speaker 2: by the way, Barkley did work limited, but that was expected.
- 5:25Speaker 2: As I understand it, that they're going to ramp them up.
- 5:27Speaker 2: That's the goal. The worst thing you could do is right.
- 5:30Speaker 2: This guy's been out a bit. He has hamstring strain. No,
- 5:34Speaker 2: you're you're, he takes all the reps and then he
- 5:36Speaker 2: has a setback. Like you forget it. And even a
- 5:39Speaker 2: small setback, he's not playing the hamstring strain. He's a
- 5:41Speaker 2: skill position player. Do the math. They don't play when
- 5:43Speaker 2: they have, they have setbacks. So let's see how he does.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Things are positive. Let's hope he goes full Friday and Saturday.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And if he's limited Friday, he's got to be full
- 5:54Speaker 2: on Saturday. Got to be. Need to have that happen
- 5:57Speaker 2: for him to play. Anyway, that's the offense.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Let's also not dismiss some of the offensive line issue
- 6:02Speaker 1: right now because, again, you only get three practices a week.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Three main practices, right? So Willie Lampkin missed practice Thursday
- 6:09Speaker 1: with an illness. which is in itself not a big deal.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But remember, he's playing left guard. And right now, Landon
- 6:15Speaker 1: Dickerson and Drew Kendall were also limited. So when I
- 6:20Speaker 1: see limited, we don't know, but we usually assume guys
- 6:22Speaker 1: did like certain things, but not obviously any seven on
- 6:26Speaker 1: sevens or 11 on 11s or any kind of like
- 6:28Speaker 1: major practice. So I have to think that at left
- 6:30Speaker 1: guard on Thursday, the first day of practice was probably
- 6:34Speaker 1: Micah Morris at this point with Jake majors back at center,
- 6:37Speaker 1: which is not what you want when you're trying to
- 6:39Speaker 1: get ready to turn your season around against the Dallas Cowboys.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Hopefully Willie Lampkin is fine. It's a minor thing. Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Clubs are not, they're not required to see what the
- 6:49Speaker 2: illness is. Right. Whether it's a, whether he's sick, Or
- 6:54Speaker 2: it's something else we just don't know. But 90% of
- 6:57Speaker 2: the time, these guys play when they have an illness.
- 6:59Speaker 2: So let's hope that that's the case here. I mean,
- 7:03Speaker 2: they're in a tough way. And we'll get to the
- 7:05Speaker 2: transactions in a minute. But just guys who have been
- 7:08Speaker 2: on the practice squad a little bit. John Ojukwu, I'm
- 7:10Speaker 2: still surprised. If not, sign him off the practice squad.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I just don't understand it. He should be permanently on
- 7:17Speaker 2: the 53 the rest of the season. He really should.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It's felt like they are playing with fire at offensive
- 7:24Speaker 1: tackle for sure. Obviously, they have Fred now who's healthy
- 7:28Speaker 1: and backing up. But with the injuries that they've had,
- 7:31Speaker 1: where they've had to play guys in different spots, you're right.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Just their overall depth issue at that position makes you
- 7:37Speaker 1: wonder why they haven't been able to do that and
- 7:39Speaker 1: they've gotten away with it. So far on defense, the
- 7:43Speaker 1: guys who didn't practice were pretty much, you know, they've
- 7:45Speaker 1: been hurting. People know about that. Michael Carter with the
- 7:48Speaker 1: abdomen and Nolan Smith had the concussion. So we'll see
- 7:53Speaker 1: you get an extra day, but that doesn't always mean
- 7:56Speaker 1: you're going to be ready to go just because it's
- 7:58Speaker 1: Monday night. So we'll have to see how that progresses
- 8:00Speaker 1: through the week. The first thing we have to see
- 8:02Speaker 1: is him get out on the field, which is part
- 8:04Speaker 1: of the protocol. So we'll see you Friday and Saturday
- 8:07Speaker 1: if that's able to happen. And then in terms of defense,
- 8:10Speaker 1: Landon Dickerson, I'm sorry.
- 8:12Speaker 2: No.
- 8:12Speaker 1: And Epinesa, the other edge guy, he was limited again.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Jonathan Grenard. It's interesting. Did you hear Vic? Vic basically
- 8:19Speaker 1: said the, the ankle still bothering.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Him, man. Oh yeah. You saw it again.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I mean, he left, came back, left, came back. He's
- 8:27Speaker 2: had this now for a bit. Uh, The good news
- 8:31Speaker 2: is– What's that?
- 8:32Speaker 1: Sorry, go ahead. I was going to say a Jomo
- 8:34Speaker 1: with the abdomen who was bothered a little bit in
- 8:37Speaker 1: that game, limited also. These are just bad– it's like
- 8:41Speaker 1: you want– again, you want to be optimistic, and then
- 8:44Speaker 1: somebody new who's important– they're all important, but who's a
- 8:46Speaker 1: starter or an impact player pops up on the injury list,
- 8:50Speaker 1: and you just don't know.
- 8:51Speaker 2: So Jomo was the one positive. He actually got some
- 8:55Speaker 2: work in limited with ankle and knee. That's actually a
- 8:57Speaker 2: very good sign.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Agreed.
- 8:59Speaker 2: First of all, we knew it wasn't major because he
- 9:02Speaker 2: kind of said that, but he hyperextended his knee and
- 9:06Speaker 2: had the ankle injury. But the good thing is he
- 9:07Speaker 2: got some work in on Thursday. We'll see what happens.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Jihad Campbell, he had the knee issue. That's gone off
- 9:12Speaker 2: the injury report. He now has a wrist issue. Michael
- 9:15Speaker 2: Carter was seen working out on the side. He didn't
- 9:17Speaker 2: practice with the abdomen. Oh, boy. So right now, Jordan Davis,
- 9:24Speaker 2: by the way, he was fine. He took all his reps.
- 9:26Speaker 2: He's going to play. You saw him. He was limping
- 9:30Speaker 2: off with a shin. And he has a thumb injury.
- 9:33Speaker 2: He worked. But as you said, teams generally have an
- 9:38Speaker 2: idea of who's going to go. And there's a small
- 9:40Speaker 2: percentage where they don't know until they get through all
- 9:43Speaker 2: the three practices. The ones I would be concerned about
- 9:46Speaker 2: moving on here to sum it up, Smitty, Wicks, Goddard
- 9:52Speaker 2: because it's a knee, Kendall. Grenard. We have no idea
- 9:59Speaker 2: what to expect. Right. Smith, Nolan Smith, concussion. The average
- 10:05Speaker 2: length is six and a half to seven days recovery,
- 10:07Speaker 2: so he could be hugging up right against it. Saturday's
- 10:10Speaker 2: the key day. He has to work. He has to
- 10:11Speaker 2: get some work in. He really needs to. But Katie,
- 10:15Speaker 2: by the way, he did work with a shoulder injury.
- 10:18Speaker 2: That's good. Because, man, they basically are down to James Newby,
- 10:26Speaker 2: who's a six-step edge rusher and had some quality snaps.
- 10:29Speaker 2: We talked to Greg Cosell about that on Inside the Tape.
- 10:32Speaker 2: But he's a smaller guy. You just don't want to matter.
- 10:34Speaker 2: He's too small. But guess what? At this point, as
- 10:37Speaker 2: much as Vic says he doesn't want to play Jihad
- 10:39Speaker 2: Campbell at edge, instead of being a run defender on
- 10:44Speaker 2: the edge, you got to do what you got to
- 10:46Speaker 2: do to win.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Get a catch rush. Come on.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 1: If anything, you just might see him blitzing more from
- 10:51Speaker 1: the linebacker position. Adam, I totally forgot this. When I
- 10:55Speaker 1: was giving you my scenario of what the Eagles offensive
- 10:59Speaker 1: line interior might have looked like, Tyler Steen was also
- 11:02Speaker 1: limited because he's got the shoulder and he did not
- 11:05Speaker 1: play well. at all against the Panthers. Greg Cosell pointed
- 11:08Speaker 1: that out. And we showed some on, on inside the tape.
- 11:12Speaker 1: So if he didn't do any seven on sevens or more,
- 11:15Speaker 1: and neither did Willie Lampkin and neither did Kendall, I can,
- 11:18Speaker 1: I can't even, I guess, Micah Morris, Jake majors, and
- 11:21Speaker 1: maybe a juke would did play some kind of guard at,
- 11:25Speaker 1: on the first day of practice. That's just, again, it's
- 11:27Speaker 1: just not, it doesn't mean these guys can't make it,
- 11:29Speaker 1: but you're trying to get continuity at this spot and
- 11:33Speaker 1: you just keep plugging in guys who, Left and right
- 11:35Speaker 1: in positions they're not used to playing.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Fred Johnson, I know he took some reps late in
- 11:41Speaker 2: training camp at guard.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Yeah, he was probably guard. You're right. He was probably
- 11:46Speaker 1: right guard. Maybe Micah Morris was left and Majors was center.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Well, they've gone out of their way not to play
- 11:50Speaker 2: Micah Morris, who's doing a rookie diary. But he's a
- 11:55Speaker 2: massive dude, man. You like the size here. Right now,
- 12:00Speaker 2: the only healthy receivers of the seven they have on
- 12:02Speaker 2: the 53– We're saying who are not listed on the
- 12:05Speaker 2: injury report. Makai Lemon, who's an inside receiver. Mm-hmm. Ares Cooper,
- 12:10Speaker 2: our guy. And Elijah Moore, who they refuse. He's got
- 12:14Speaker 2: one pass target this season. Man.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Man. All right.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Well, hey, look.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Let's get to some transactors. And again, we mentioned Barkley.
- 12:24Speaker 1: I say one Barkley was limited. I did not think
- 12:27Speaker 1: he would be anything getting back to practice. That's normal
- 12:31Speaker 1: when you're coming off a hamstring that they're not going
- 12:33Speaker 1: to throw you out there. I don't interpret that as
- 12:35Speaker 1: as much of a bad sign as some of the
- 12:37Speaker 1: other ones we're talking about.
- 12:39Speaker 2: That's a good sign. Yeah, that's absolutely plain. I know
- 12:41Speaker 2: the way these things work, especially with hamstrings. Yeah, this
- 12:44Speaker 2: is this is fun. Now, if it doesn't work Friday night.
- 12:48Speaker 2: It would raise my eyes a little bit like, oh, OK,
- 12:53Speaker 2: we got to see. We're not rolling them out yet.
- 12:54Speaker 2: We're not doing anything. We got to see what happens Saturday.
- 12:57Speaker 2: But if he practices full Friday, unless he has some
- 13:01Speaker 2: kind of setback, he's playing. So there you go. All right.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So that is the list. We will obviously keep everybody
- 13:06Speaker 1: updated when we do our Inside the Birds pregame show.
- 13:09Speaker 1: We'll have the final report and everybody will know what's what. OK,
- 13:13Speaker 1: you know those pieces in your closet that you find

- 16:31Speaker 1: the Eagles are making a lot of moves at running back.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Began earlier in the week. Carson Steele, feel bad for
- 16:37Speaker 1: the guy, Adam. He had such a nice preseason, finally
- 16:39Speaker 1: gets on the opportunity last week, gets hurt, and then
- 16:41Speaker 1: he gets waved injured.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he's on IR. He's on IR. So here we go.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Here's everything this week. So, on Wednesday, they worked out
- 16:53Speaker 2: Evan Neal, who's a guard right tackle, former first-round bust
- 16:56Speaker 2: of the Giants. He was released from the Raiders practice
- 16:58Speaker 2: squad on Monday. Eagles worked him out. They like what
- 17:01Speaker 2: they saw. They signed him to their practice squad. He's
- 17:05Speaker 2: just a guy, my understanding was, talking to people close
- 17:08Speaker 2: to the Giants, they kind of knew early on it
- 17:11Speaker 2: was probably not going to work out. He was... Boy,
- 17:17Speaker 2: it's tough, man. When you miss– I think he was
- 17:18Speaker 2: the seventh pick overall in 22 without looking. I think
- 17:20Speaker 2: it was something like that.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Seven or eight. Yeah, it was high.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's bad. That's a real– boy, that sets you back.
- 17:26Speaker 2: They tried him at right guard. They tried him at
- 17:28Speaker 2: right tackle. Raiders who do not have good depth, they
- 17:31Speaker 2: cut him off their practice squad. Yeah. And then Tyus Bowser,
- 17:36Speaker 2: who was a second-round pick, back in 2017, 10 seasons ago,
- 17:43Speaker 2: For the Ravens, he had a severe knee injury some
- 17:46Speaker 2: years ago, and he's trying to get his career back.
- 17:47Speaker 2: He's 31 years old, but he's a speed rusher. In fact,
- 17:50Speaker 2: he was one of the better speed rushers in the
- 17:52Speaker 2: league for a while, and he got a big extension,
- 17:55Speaker 2: but he wound up getting hurt, kind of bounced around,
- 17:58Speaker 2: and Eagles, from what I understand, likes his workout. But
- 18:01Speaker 2: they're kind of working through this. We'll see who they
- 18:03Speaker 2: have available. They did cut EJ Jenkins. If he's not claimed,
- 18:09Speaker 2: you would think he would go to the practice squad.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And they could use it. This is a good practice
- 18:13Speaker 2: squad trick because he's got three elevations if he makes
- 18:17Speaker 2: it through waivers. Right. And there you go. I see
- 18:21Speaker 2: why they did that. Jaden Blue, he passed the waivers unclaimed.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Resigned to their practice squad. Released from the practice squad
- 18:28Speaker 2: were Ian Wheeler and James Brockermeyer. And then they can't
- 18:34Speaker 2: get rid of this guy. This guy is, I give
- 18:36Speaker 2: him credit, Elijah Mitchell's back to the practice squad. And
- 18:39Speaker 2: he actually... I'll make it elevated. Yep. Now, now the
- 18:44Speaker 2: way I understand it is he needed with the injury
- 18:48Speaker 2: settlement needed. It's typically, typically six weeks at a settlement
- 18:52Speaker 2: with him. He's back. As we mentioned, Neil's on the
- 18:55Speaker 2: practice squad and Anthony or G who's a special teams,
- 18:59Speaker 2: a good speed. It's bounced around for three years. He's
- 19:01Speaker 2: back to the Eagles practice squad. He was with them before. So,
- 19:04Speaker 2: This thing's an absolute mess, man. It's just an absolute mess.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Right. Did we mention, you mentioned Jaden blue is back
- 19:10Speaker 1: on the practice.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah. So, so the EJ Jenkins being released one is
- 19:16Speaker 1: interesting because wait, I'm sorry. Wave wave is interesting because they,
- 19:21Speaker 1: it gives them a spot open. They did not sign
- 19:26Speaker 1: Zach Ertz to the 53 last week. And it didn't.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I mean, you just never know with Nick Sirianni. He
- 19:32Speaker 1: obviously didn't give any clues that they were going to
- 19:34Speaker 1: do it for this game. But they're down a special
- 19:38Speaker 1: teamer without Jenkins. And I believe Grant Calcaterra plays more
- 19:42Speaker 1: special teams, obviously, than Zach Ertz. So I still don't
- 19:45Speaker 1: know if this one spot is going to go to
- 19:48Speaker 1: Ertz or if it's going to go to. Calcaterra or
- 19:51Speaker 1: somebody who contributes on special teams.
- 19:53Speaker 2: All right a couple things here Calcaterra had a full
- 19:55Speaker 2: practice on Thursday so did Eli Stowers.
- 19:58Speaker 1: He should he's still I should mention they're still in
- 20:01Speaker 1: that 21 day practice.
- 20:03Speaker 2: They are yep yep yep yep uh so is Dickerson
- 20:07Speaker 2: in in the window oh and then um I've known
- 20:11Speaker 2: this for a couple weeks. I think I might have
- 20:12Speaker 2: mentioned in passing, but it's just important to note that
- 20:14Speaker 2: Lane Johnson will take up a roster spot the entire season. Right.
- 20:17Speaker 2: For cap purposes. Yep. They literally cannot put them on.
- 20:20Speaker 2: They cannot take the acceleration of the option bonus paration.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 2: And the restructure. They just can't do it. Right.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Which is tough. It puts them in a tough spot
- 20:29Speaker 1: because this year more than other years where you could
- 20:33Speaker 1: do it, they've had so many injuries and they've had
- 20:36Speaker 1: to play. You're basically working with a 52-man or one
- 20:39Speaker 1: short than everybody else. And you need every spot right
- 20:42Speaker 1: now because of all your injuries.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a tough deal, man. It is what it is.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Not blaming Laney. Yeah, no, no, no. It's just a
- 20:48Speaker 2: tough spot. Yeah, it just sucks that they're in such
- 20:51Speaker 2: a tough way right now. Howie and John Ferrari, the
- 20:56Speaker 2: ops guy, who's assistant general manager, but his big deal
- 20:58Speaker 2: is operations. He came from the league office. This is
- 21:02Speaker 2: where everybody earns their money because there's definitely strategy with
- 21:05Speaker 2: all this stuff. This is crazy roster gymnastics. We haven't
- 21:09Speaker 2: seen this in a long time. It's both sides of
- 21:11Speaker 2: the football. Just when you're feeling good about the pass
- 21:14Speaker 2: target group, Smitty with a hamstring. Now, it doesn't mean
- 21:17Speaker 2: he had a setback. This could be part of the
- 21:18Speaker 2: protocol to make sure he gets through. But Wicks, you
- 21:21Speaker 2: saw him get hurt. All these tight ends hurt. All
- 21:25Speaker 2: the craziness with the offensive line shuffle. I mean, poor
- 21:28Speaker 2: Sean Mannion and Chris Cooper. I mean, I know, look,
- 21:32Speaker 2: they haven't had a good couple weeks here. We called
- 21:36Speaker 2: it out inside the tape. But there's only so much
- 21:38Speaker 2: you can control. And this is an absolute nightmare, man.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And facing a team, as we know, Christian Parker is
- 21:46Speaker 2: up against it with guys who don't play the right way.
- 21:48Speaker 2: They've had a lack of discipline. They've had six coordinators
- 21:52Speaker 2: in eight years. There's a reason for it. They don't
- 21:55Speaker 2: get the right players, the Cowboys do. That could be
- 21:57Speaker 2: a 30 for 30. All the problems that the coaches
- 22:00Speaker 2: have had getting guys to play the right way on defense.
- 22:03Speaker 2: It's why they can't win.
- 22:06Speaker 1: If you want to add to that, the Cowboys came
- 22:09Speaker 1: into the year thinking, all right, we know we're going
- 22:11Speaker 1: to struggle defensively or try to get better, but at
- 22:14Speaker 1: least we can hang our hat on the fact that
- 22:16Speaker 1: we have an explosive offense and they've been outside of
- 22:19Speaker 1: the offensive line. I know Booker missed some time. They've
- 22:21Speaker 1: been generally healthy on offense. They've been terrible for the
- 22:25Speaker 1: last few weeks.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I've scored.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Do you know they have actually fewer rushing yards than
- 22:30Speaker 1: the Eagles, which is like almost hard to believe.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I saw that. Yeah. Yeah. I saw that. Just, just
- 22:35Speaker 2: so you know, Christian Parker, the first year, right. Mattie
- 22:38Speaker 2: was just fired after one year. Mike Zimmer was gone
- 22:41Speaker 2: after one year. Yeah. Dan Quinn, obviously he left to
- 22:45Speaker 2: become a head coach. Mike Nolan, okay? Gone after one year.
- 22:49Speaker 2: I mean, this is just, what are we doing, folks?
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, does it not feel like the Eagles offensive coordinator? Like,
- 22:56Speaker 1: it's always the coordinator that gets blamed and not the personnel. Yeah, exactly.
- 22:59Speaker 2: See the fingers here? Fingers pointing? Yeah. Goodness gracious.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I mean, this whole game is interesting because it's like,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I was joking with Sam Finkel on Inside the Data.
- 23:08Speaker 1: This is like, The movable force versus the resistible object.
- 23:13Speaker 1: The Eagles offense does not want to move, and the
- 23:16Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys defense doesn't want to stop anybody from moving.
- 23:19Speaker 1: So what's going to give?
- 23:20Speaker 2: Real quick before we get out of here. Cowboys injuries
- 23:23Speaker 2: are actually a couple. There are two that are key.
- 23:24Speaker 2: There are only really two of note. Devontae Turpin, their
- 23:27Speaker 2: outstanding returner, punt kickoff returner, sort of gadget or specialty
- 23:31Speaker 2: player where you see inside handoff and all sorts of stuff.
- 23:35Speaker 2: He got dinged with ribs. OK, so we're going to
- 23:37Speaker 2: watch that one. And Dee Winters is one of their
- 23:39Speaker 2: starting inside backers. Kef injury, neither Winters or Turpin practice
- 23:44Speaker 2: on Wednesday. Excuse me, Thursday. Joey Porter will play. He
- 23:47Speaker 2: has an ankle injury. He took all his reps. So
- 23:50Speaker 2: this is why when you when you continue to miss
- 23:53Speaker 2: on draft picks or, you know, you just don't get
- 23:56Speaker 2: it right. This is why they made all those transactions
- 23:59Speaker 2: last year and they keep bringing in free agents or
- 24:01Speaker 2: make trades and don't resign some of the players because
- 24:04Speaker 2: you got an 84 year old general manager owner. Okay.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And his son, Steven is a director of player personnel. Oh,
- 24:10Speaker 2: by the way, he also is like a VP of business.
- 24:14Speaker 2: That that's normal. Like that. That's what you do when
- 24:16Speaker 2: you're on the football team. Sure. Good luck.
- 24:18Speaker 1: It's too bad. Cause they got a good executive, Will McClay,
- 24:21Speaker 1: who obviously is brought in some great talent, but there's just,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you know, when you're hamstrung by the people above you,
- 24:27Speaker 1: there's nothing you can do about it.
- 24:29Speaker 2: And he's turned on opportunities to be a GM. Cause
- 24:32Speaker 2: they keep, they keep giving raises and, He oversees it,
- 24:35Speaker 2: but Jerry has final say. He has personnel control.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Correct.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah. It's ridiculous. Anyway.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Anybody else would have been fired by now for that. Yeah.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Any just quick thoughts on this? Again, I mean, the
- 24:48Speaker 1: Dallas offense, I want people to understand, is not what
- 24:51Speaker 1: people– it's been very, very bad. Brian Schottenheimer, I mean,
- 24:56Speaker 1: we're so micro-focused on Nick Sirianni's decision-making. Schotty's made some
- 25:01Speaker 1: questionable decisions as both a game manager and a head coach.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So these are two teams that are both spiraling downward.
- 25:08Speaker 1: And whoever wins this game Monday night is going to
- 25:10Speaker 1: feel like they saved their season a little bit. And
- 25:12Speaker 1: whoever loses, Adam, you might start hearing words like fire
- 25:16Speaker 1: sale or, you know.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Boo your punting off. People are thinking Dak was going
- 25:19Speaker 2: to get 40 touchdowns this season. No chance. He might
- 25:22Speaker 2: not even get 30. Yeah. It's– It's crazy because Pickens,
- 25:27Speaker 2: you know how talented he is, but he's so up
- 25:28Speaker 2: and down. You know about CeeDee Lamb. They're loaded at
- 25:31Speaker 2: tight end. Flournoy's a pretty good slot receiver. You can
- 25:35Speaker 2: line up a little bit outside. Javante Williams is productive,
- 25:37Speaker 2: but he's not explosive. Right. And they've spent... I mean,
- 25:43Speaker 2: when you look at what they've done with the big
- 25:47Speaker 2: trade with the Jets last year to get Quinton Williams,
- 25:50Speaker 2: a trade, obviously, with... With the Packers, which crazy. Oh, yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 2: The Kenny Clark trade, obviously. Parsons brought in D winners.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Made the trade for Jerry Porter. Jerron Bland, we've outlined.
- 26:07Speaker 2: He's an okay nickel. He's not an outside player.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 2: And Lawrence, their first round pick. He's done some good things.
- 26:15Speaker 2: He's done some good things. But I feel bad for
- 26:18Speaker 2: Christian Parker. He's a better coach than he's shown here.
- 26:20Speaker 2: I really do believe that. But they weren't waiting. Mike Patton.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Mike Patton's in. We'll see. Patton knows the 34 front,
- 26:28Speaker 2: but he's not a fan show guy.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Hey, Philly fans. Game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 26:34Speaker 1: long lines. We've all been there. But when it comes
- 26:36Speaker 1: to your cannabis. Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is

- 27:27Speaker 1: and up. Nobody loves grilling more than me. It could
- 27:31Speaker 1: be 30 degrees and I'll be out there grilling burgers
- 27:33Speaker 1: and steaks. But the one thing that I really can't
- 27:36Speaker 1: stand is losing my fish and my veggies because they
- 27:39Speaker 1: just can't grill without falling through. That's why I've been
- 27:43Speaker 1: using Hexclad's BBQ Collection. It's bringing hybrid technology outdoors with

- 28:11Speaker 1: control when you're cooking delicate foods like veggies or seafood,
- 28:15Speaker 1: or if you're cooking multiple portions at one time. Last week,
- 28:18Speaker 1: I grilled the best surf and turf my style, which
- 28:22Speaker 1: is salmon and ribs, and lost none of it because
- 28:25Speaker 1: I used Hexclad's BBQ collection. With over 1 million customers

- 29:09Speaker 2: Right. He's in Coach Fangio before, so.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Right. Where did they work together? In Green Bay, right? Yeah,
- 29:13Speaker 1: they were together in Green Bay.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 29:15Speaker 1: All right, so that is it. Listen, I'm telling you this.
- 29:18Speaker 1: For where the Eagles are at, Saturday's injury report for
