- 0:00What if the real reason you struggle with confidence isn't
- 0:05that you doubt yourself, but that you were taught your
- 0:09feelings were wrong? Hello my dear friend.
- 0:15Before we begin, let me ask you something and I want you to
- 0:20really feel into it. Have you ever had the feeling so
- 0:25clear inside you and yet someone told you you're wrong and
- 0:32slowly, quietly, you started believing them?
- 0:37This is Esther speaking to you from Switzerland.
- 0:41And today, I want to talk about something that has shaped my
- 0:47entire life, and maybe yours too, without us even realizing
- 0:54it. Today we're talking about
- 0:57trusting our own feelings. Not just listening to them, but
- 1:04taking them seriously. Honoring them.
- 1:09Believing them, even when the people closest to us don't.
- 1:16Because here's the truth. The moment we stop trusting our
- 1:22feelings, we don't just lose confidence, we lose our inner
- 1:28home. For years I thought something
- 1:34was wrong with me, that I lacked self-confidence, that I needed
- 1:40to be stronger, louder, more certain.
- 1:46But last week, something shifted inside me, Gently, deeply,
- 1:53unmistakably. Last week, during an ordinary
- 1:59day, something extraordinary happened.
- 2:03I suddenly understood why trusting my own feelings has
- 2:10always felt so difficult, why it felt unsafe, why it felt
- 2:17fragile. And the realisation landed
- 2:22softly but powerfully. I had always believed others
- 2:29more than myself. This understanding brought me
- 2:35straight back to my poverty, those tender, confusing years
- 2:41with my parents. I remember sitting there, my
- 2:46heart wide open, saying something that felt incredibly
- 2:52brave at the time. I don't feel loved.
- 2:57You never tell me. I don't feel it in your actions.
- 3:03I feel unseen. And instead of curiosity,
- 3:09instead of questions, I was met with shock, with anger, with
- 3:17rejection. They told me I was wrong,
- 3:22ungrateful, insensitive. And again and again.
- 3:28I went to my room, closed the door and cried.
- 3:34Not just crying, breaking, feeling completely alone,
- 3:41feeling like my feelings were dangerous, feeling like I was
- 3:48wrong. Sometimes lying there, I wished
- 3:54it could all just end. And this is the moment where
- 4:00something inside me quietly decided my feelings cannot be
- 4:07trusted. No one ever said that sentence
- 4:12out loud, but it was written into my nervous system, into my
- 4:19body, into my way of being in the world.
- 4:26Last week, I looked at that younger version of myself not
- 4:32with judgement, but with compassion, and for the first
- 4:37time, I truly understood her. She wasn't weak, she wasn't
- 4:44dramatic, she wasn't wrong. She was a child whose feelings
- 4:52were dismissed and suddenly everything made sense.
- 4:59I always thought my struggle was about self-confidence, but it
- 5:05wasn't. It was about self trust.
- 5:10How can you feel confident when you don't trust your own inner
- 5:16voice? When the people you depended on
- 5:21taught you that your emotional truth was incorrect?
- 5:26If only someone had asked me one simple question.
- 5:32Why do you feel unloved? That question could have changed
- 5:38everything. And this is where I want to
- 5:43gently speak to you. Whether you're a parent, a
- 5:48partner, a friend, or simply a human in relationship with
- 5:54others, when someone shares a feeling you don't understand,
- 6:01don't defend, don't correct, don't explain, ask, listen, get
- 6:11curious. Because feelings are not facts,
- 6:16but they are real experiences and they deserve respect.
- 6:24And now let me speak directly to you.
- 6:28If you're on a journey of building confidence, please
- 6:33don't try to fake it until you make it, because confidence
- 6:39built on self betrayal will always collapse.
- 6:45Instead, ask yourself something much more powerful.
- 6:50Why don't I trust myself? At what point did I learn that
- 6:57my feelings were wrong? Because once you start trusting
- 7:03yourself again, something magical happens.
- 7:09Other people's opinions slowly lose their grip, their voices
- 7:16become quieter, and your own voice becomes clearer.
- 7:22You stop searching for permission.
- 7:25You stop needing validation to exist.
- 7:29Of course, appreciation from others feels good.
- 7:34But it's not. It's no longer a lifeline, It's
- 7:39a bonus. And then you arrive at the most
- 7:43important question of all. Do I feel at home within myself?
- 7:51Here's a simple but powerful practice I invite you into.
- 7:58Check in with yourself throughout the day, not only in
- 8:03the morning, not only in the evening, but right in the middle
- 8:08of life. When you're in a group, when
- 8:13you're alone, when you're with people you love.
- 8:18Pause and ask, do I trust myself right now?
- 8:24Am I taking my feelings seriously or am I minimizing
- 8:29myself to stay connected? And when you notice that you've
- 8:36lost yourself, because we all do, go back.
- 8:42Go back to your younger self, Take them in your arms and tell
- 8:49them what no one told you back then.
- 8:53I believe you. Your feelings make sense.
- 8:58You were never wrong. Every feeling you feel in your
- 9:03body is valid. You don't have to justify it,
- 9:08you don't have to explain it. It is already enough.
- 9:14self-awareness is not a one time act.
- 9:19It's a living practice. And yes, it's an ongoing
- 9:24journey, but it's also a beautiful one.
- 9:29Layer by layer, you come home to yourself and I truly love this
- 9:37journey. If you feel cold to go deeper,
- 9:42I'm offering a free one-on-one coaching session with me.
- 9:47A safe space where your feelings are taken seriously, where we
- 9:54strengthen yourself, trust together.
- 9:58You can reach out. I would love to meet you there.
- 10:04Thank you for listening. Thank you for your openness.
- 10:09Thank you for honoring your inner world.
- 10:14New episodes are uploaded every Thursday.
- 10:18Until next time, remember this. Your feelings are not the
- 10:24problem, they are the path and you are already enough.
