- 0:01Speaker 1: Jerry Katy and Josh one hundred.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Well storms hit again last night in the Mile High City.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Woke me up about Uh.
- 0:12Speaker 2: It was like right around eleven midnight, just that crazy
- 0:17Speaker 2: rain and wind and.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Possible hail again last night. It was nutty. The lightning
- 0:21Speaker 3: was absolutely ridiculous.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Well, I saw a lot of areas across the state
- 0:25Speaker 4: getting hit with floods, like unexpected floodwaters.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Bad weather again, real bad weather.
- 0:30Speaker 1: So hope everyone's safe out there.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Well.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And then right around one thirty last night, I heard
- 0:37Speaker 2: my son shuffling around and then I saw like lights
- 0:40Speaker 2: getting flashed in the house and stuff, and he had.
- 0:42Speaker 3: His flashlight out. I guess the power went out.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Oh no, right around one thirty, which is it's annoying
- 0:49Speaker 2: because then you lay there and you're wondering, you know, well,
- 0:52Speaker 2: how's this morning gonna go and when's it gonna come
- 0:54Speaker 2: back on? But thank god, Excel called me seven times,
- 0:58Speaker 2: okay to know what was going on my phone rang
- 1:03Speaker 2: it was I should go back and look. I think
- 1:05Speaker 2: it was seven times, and I keep my phone on silent,
- 1:08Speaker 2: but I do still have it on vibrate in case
- 1:10Speaker 2: there's an emergency, So you know, I'm laying there and
- 1:12Speaker 2: I get them.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you feel it in you here.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You know, as I'm trying to doze back off because
- 1:18Speaker 2: I'm already thinking about the power off. But they called
- 1:21Speaker 2: me to let me know that my power went out.
- 1:23Speaker 2: They called me again to let me know that they
- 1:26Speaker 2: are working.
- 1:26Speaker 3: On restoring my power.
- 1:28Speaker 2: They called me again and said the power beyond by three,
- 1:31Speaker 2: and then they called me again and said four.
- 1:34Speaker 3: And then they called me again and said five.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Oh no, And then I heard the power come back on.
- 1:40Speaker 2: And then I got another phone.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Call to let me know that the power had been
- 1:43Speaker 3: turned back on.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So thank you Excel for keeping me updated on my
- 1:47Speaker 2: power situation.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Did they do this in the daytime hours?
- 1:50Speaker 4: Two?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Do they keep you updated?
- 1:51Speaker 2: I've never I think they do. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I got sucked into something. I must have signed up
- 1:56Speaker 2: for something. It must alerts yeah where I'm it and
- 2:00Speaker 2: calls and it's not fun when it's two in the
- 2:02Speaker 2: morning and my phone.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Is oh, I would be so annoyed, and it.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Was so it was excessive. I appreciate the alerts, but hey,
- 2:10Speaker 2: your powers off? Yeah, I know, I know, Hey, your
- 2:11Speaker 2: powers back on?
- 2:12Speaker 3: Hey? Thanks? I noticed what was.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Your son doing at one thirty in the morning.
- 2:16Speaker 3: He gets a little freaked out when you hear the
- 2:18Speaker 3: power go out, because you can hear it, you hear everything.
- 2:21Speaker 3: You know. He's got a fan in his room and
- 2:22Speaker 3: it goes off, so.
- 2:23Speaker 2: He gets a little like I get that that, so
- 2:26Speaker 2: he immediately has to.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Wake everybody up and let us know that the power
- 2:29Speaker 3: is out.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I thought he was like down in his little three
- 2:32Speaker 1: D printer.
- 2:35Speaker 2: The other thing I found extremely concerning is the amount
- 2:39Speaker 2: of stuff that just turns on in my house after
- 2:43Speaker 2: the power kicks on, because I went, you know, after
- 2:46Speaker 2: I fell back asleep and went downstairs.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Then when my alarm finally went off.
- 2:50Speaker 2: The amount of lights that just come on when the
- 2:53Speaker 2: power comes back on. There was a TV on, one
- 2:57Speaker 2: of my soundbars was on. I walked in our office
- 3:00Speaker 2: and my wife's complete work from home setup was just on.
- 3:04Speaker 3: What lights in my garage on?
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, so I guess a lot of this stuff in
- 3:09Speaker 2: my home is power sensitive.
- 3:11Speaker 3: So if it goes out and comes back on, it's
- 3:14Speaker 3: just on.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's automatically. I wonder if there's a switch for that
- 3:17Speaker 1: or setting.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I don't know, but I instantly am thinking, Okay, So
- 3:20Speaker 2: what if we're out of town for a week or something,
- 3:22Speaker 2: power goes off. We get home and everything's on and
- 3:25Speaker 2: it's been running. I want a discount from excelf.
- 3:28Speaker 3: That's the case.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Well at Lisa, look like someone's home and.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Always positive. Yet an issue at the post office yesterday.
- 3:38Speaker 4: So I went in to mail some stuff and you
- 3:40Speaker 4: know how you have to go up to the counter
- 3:43Speaker 4: and you're not quite ready. So they're like, why don't
- 3:45Speaker 4: you go out to that back counter and fill the
- 3:48Speaker 4: stuff out and then come back right okay, So I get.
- 3:51Speaker 1: To the front of the line.
- 3:51Speaker 4: They tell me to do that, go fill out some
- 3:53Speaker 4: stuff at the back counter, and then when I'm ready again,
- 3:57Speaker 4: I go back to the line and I get into
- 3:59Speaker 4: the back of the line.
- 4:00Speaker 1: That's the pause you should write, exactly.
- 4:03Speaker 4: And so I get to the back of the line
- 4:05Speaker 4: and I wait my turn again, and all of a
- 4:07Speaker 4: sudden there's this lady and she did the same thing.
- 4:11Speaker 4: She got to you know, she was being served at
- 4:13Speaker 4: the counter and they told her you're not ready yet,
- 4:16Speaker 4: go fill this stuff out.
- 4:17Speaker 1: At the back.
- 4:17Speaker 4: She went and did that, and instead of getting back
- 4:20Speaker 4: into the back of the line like real humans do,
- 4:24Speaker 4: she decided she was going to stand to the side
- 4:26Speaker 4: of everybody and just wait until the person motioned her like,
- 4:29Speaker 4: oh yeah, you don't have to wait in line again,
- 4:31Speaker 4: come on up to the front.
- 4:32Speaker 1: That is not how it works, and you could tell
- 4:35Speaker 1: the person.
- 4:36Speaker 4: The person who was serving her like looked at me
- 4:38Speaker 4: first to see if I was going to be okay
- 4:40Speaker 4: with it, because I was the next person in line.
- 4:42Speaker 4: She was cutting in front of me, and I just
- 4:44Speaker 4: kind of smell them. It was like, it's fine because
- 4:47Speaker 4: I wasn't going to create a scene right there in
- 4:50Speaker 4: the post office. But also the person in front of me,
- 4:54Speaker 4: right they had just said, hey, you were here before me,
- 4:57Speaker 4: why don't you go ahead?
- 4:58Speaker 1: And I was like, no, that's tr totally fine, you
- 5:01Speaker 1: do it.
- 5:02Speaker 4: That's very nice to you to say, but you go
- 5:04Speaker 4: ahead and get your stuff taken care of first first
- 5:06Speaker 4: and behind me. Even I took a little bit of
- 5:09Speaker 4: extra time when I finally filled everything out and the
- 5:13Speaker 4: counterperson said this is gonna take a minute, and so
- 5:15Speaker 4: I turned around and I told the gentleman, thank you
- 5:18Speaker 4: so much for being patient. I know you probably a
- 5:20Speaker 4: place so much kindness, and he was like, it's fine,
- 5:22Speaker 4: take your time. I've got plenty of time today, so
- 5:24Speaker 4: everyone was super kind except for this one unhuman like
- 5:28Speaker 4: lady who didn't feel like standing in line.
- 5:30Speaker 1: She thought she was above it. And boy, that drives
- 5:33Speaker 1: me crazy when.
- 5:33Speaker 3: People do you speak in the moment?
- 5:35Speaker 4: Well, because again, I'm not going to cause a scene.
- 5:37Speaker 4: I just feel like this was an older woman.
- 5:39Speaker 1: She should know. I also feel.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Like I'm not gonna make a scene. I'm just gonna
- 5:44Speaker 2: go on the air tomorrow morning.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Absolutely, But I feel like once you get to a
- 5:50Speaker 4: certain age, you.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Kind of just like the rules anymore.
- 5:55Speaker 3: But let me ask you something.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Do you know if the counter attended at the post
- 5:59Speaker 2: office said, hey, when you're done, just come right back.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Up to the front. I don't know if she did
- 6:03Speaker 3: or not, but we don't know that situation.
- 6:05Speaker 4: I was in the same situation as this lady just
- 6:07Speaker 4: moments before, and she didn't tell me that. She didn't say,
- 6:10Speaker 4: when you're done filling that out, come right back up
- 6:12Speaker 4: to the front. She just said, go fill out your
- 6:14Speaker 4: staf lady, come back when you're ready.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Same lady.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Maybe she didn't like you.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I don't know why. That's part of this conversation.
- 6:21Speaker 4: And I know, right, come on, I'm super friendly, but no,
- 6:24Speaker 4: it definitely irked me. I was like, I feel like,
- 6:26Speaker 4: this is just that's common that's etiquette.
- 6:29Speaker 3: It's common knowledge, common knowledge.
- 6:31Speaker 2: You don't go right back up and cut in front,
- 6:33Speaker 2: you get back in line because you were not prepared.
- 6:35Speaker 4: I was not the only person who looked at this
- 6:38Speaker 4: lady like the heck you think.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Nobody spoke up? Nobody's speaking of She.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Was an elderly lady. I don't think anybody really wanted.
- 6:46Speaker 2: To call her out in a loud voice because she
- 6:49Speaker 2: probably can't hear too well.
- 6:50Speaker 4: This was one of those those, you know, post offices
- 6:54Speaker 4: that served as another business, so it was a post
- 6:56Speaker 4: office slash boutique shop. So I didn't know if they
- 7:00Speaker 4: just didn't want to throw down right there in the
- 7:01Speaker 4: middle of the.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I don't know, it really was.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I've never heard of this.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Post offish slash slash what they had.
- 7:12Speaker 4: They had little knickknacks, they had purses, they had shoes,
- 7:15Speaker 4: they had uh, you know, birthday cards.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Who takes the mail though, Okay, it was the same
- 7:19Speaker 2: l It's a post office and it sometimes I got
- 7:21Speaker 2: gas stations, so.
- 7:23Speaker 1: They had a post office within their business.
- 7:25Speaker 3: That's kind of cute.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Like, I didn't know if people just didn't want to,
- 7:29Speaker 4: you know, start something right there and you know, break
- 7:31Speaker 4: some stuff. So I was like, maybe we're just all
- 7:34Speaker 4: being calm so we don't break nothing, you know.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Rules.
- 7:39Speaker 3: I guess it irked me, and I just.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Like, again, thankfully the person in front of me and
- 7:44Speaker 4: behind me were so kind.
- 7:46Speaker 1: That could have ended a little bit.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I think the moral of the story for you is
- 7:50Speaker 2: to show up prepared to the post office so you
- 7:53Speaker 2: don't have to step to the side.
- 7:55Speaker 1: But I needed her help, Like, that's the thing is.
- 7:57Speaker 4: I needed to overnight something and then I needed them
- 8:00Speaker 4: to overnight it back to me.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So I needed to.
- 8:02Speaker 4: Ask her what the best cheapest way to do that was,
- 8:05Speaker 4: you know. So that was what I needed to talk
- 8:07Speaker 4: to her about. And then she told me, gave go
- 8:10Speaker 4: fill this out and had me go fill it out.
- 8:12Speaker 3: So what were you mailing?
- 8:13Speaker 1: I was mailing drug.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Take a couple of year. I gotta get this to
- 8:23Speaker 3: a guy to mail it back. I needed to get
- 8:26Speaker 3: this to a.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Guy in Rhode Island immediately, and then I need it back.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Proplying for a job. And I need this room back quick, ma'am.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Get out of line.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Yeah,
