- 0:04Speaker 2: Sharry Good Evening, and Andrew. Sorry to hear you've been

- 0:12Speaker 2: your strength and courage on air. We're all sending you
- 0:15Speaker 2: our very best wishes and we hope you have a
- 0:17Speaker 2: speedy recovery. We'll miss you here at sky News and
- 0:21Speaker 2: I'm sure you'll be back before you know it, Okay.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Coming up on the show tonight, a major expose into
- 0:28Speaker 2: the organizers behind Greta Thunberg's Gaza Flotilla. It turns out
- 0:33Speaker 2: their supporters of the terror group Hezvela and attended the
- 0:37Speaker 2: funeral of its slain leader Hassan Nasralla. Our exclusive story
- 0:42Speaker 2: in a moment. Also on the show, just how dangerous
- 0:46Speaker 2: is the Min's Government's removal of shark nets at three Beaches?
- 0:50Speaker 2: An expert will join me to discuss and the Prime
- 0:54Speaker 2: Minister's glass draw over questions about farmers chasing him out
- 0:58Speaker 2: of Ballarat. Angus Taylor will give his reaction in a moment.
- 1:08Speaker 2: And It's a big show tonight with Cameron Milner, Steve Price,
- 1:12Speaker 2: Holly Hughes, James Willis and Elon Levy. But first tonight
- 1:17Speaker 2: I can exclusively reveal several of the organizers behind Grettethnberg's
- 1:22Speaker 2: Gas of Flotilla are supporters of the terror group Hezbela
- 1:26Speaker 2: and its slain leader Hassan Nasralla. This is the dark
- 1:31Speaker 2: underside of the Gaza convoy that's capturing media attention globally.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Thiago a Villa is the coordinator of the Freedom Flotilla
- 1:41Speaker 2: Brazil and a member of the steering committee.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Hello everyone, I'm Ciaguabla, Steering Committee member of the Freedom
- 1:48Speaker 3: Flotilla Coalition.
- 1:51Speaker 2: In his profile on the Freedom Flotilla website, he even
- 1:54Speaker 2: boasts that he's been an activist for the Palestinian Calls
- 1:58Speaker 2: for nineteen years and he's been in prison in the region.
- 2:04Speaker 2: After Israel killed Hesbel Alida Hassanzrala, Thiago attended his funeral
- 2:10Speaker 2: and celebrated the terrorist leader.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I think about theberation of the entire world. When you
- 2:16Speaker 3: study the history of revolutions and anti colonial struggle and
- 2:20Speaker 3: anti imperially struggle, we see some figures, some people that
- 2:25Speaker 3: they come out, that they shine and Setasanzraela was one
- 2:29Speaker 3: of these people.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Nozraela was Hesbela's leader for thirty two years. He was
- 2:35Speaker 2: responsible for the murder of thousands, literally thousands. The attacks
- 2:42Speaker 2: under his leadership included the murder of fifty eight French peacekeepers,
- 2:47Speaker 2: the bombing of the US embassy in Beirut, killing forty
- 2:50Speaker 2: nine embassy staff, bombing the US and French marine barracks
- 2:55Speaker 2: killing two hundred and ninety nine people, the hijacking of plane,
- 3:00Speaker 2: the murder of Saudi diplomats, and many many more terror attacks.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yet this is a man. The organizer of Greta's Gaza Flotilla,
- 3:12Speaker 2: Admires Thiago, spoke publicly about how honored he was to
- 3:18Speaker 2: be at Azuela's funeral.
- 3:20Speaker 3: So, I'm actually very honored to be here. I hope
- 3:23Speaker 3: I can convey the message as best as I can.
- 3:28Speaker 2: And Thiago posted video footage on his social media from
- 3:32Speaker 2: the funeral as well, and then here he is on
- 3:43Speaker 2: the Gaza flotilla.
- 3:46Speaker 4: It's one of the most beautiful days of my life
- 3:48Speaker 4: because we've been struggling so hard to take this boat
- 3:51Speaker 4: to the sea, to break the sea, to create a
- 3:53Speaker 4: human corner, and our boats have been bombs, have been kidnapped,
- 3:57Speaker 4: I've been attacked. Now on away gather, you're on a ue.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So that claim there that he'd been kidnapped. Well, remember
- 4:08Speaker 2: when Israeli soldiers boarded their last flotilla and gave them
- 4:12Speaker 2: sandwiches to eat and water. Yes, that was when they
- 4:16Speaker 2: claimed they were taken hostage, a word they used, as
- 4:20Speaker 2: you can see on the screen hostage. Well, someone needs
- 4:24Speaker 2: to tell Thiago and Greta that this is what real
- 4:28Speaker 2: hostages look like. Just a warning. The footage is distressing.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Like evi Atar, David and rom Braslovski, the hostages who've
- 4:39Speaker 2: genuinely been kidnapped by Hamas and are being denied food
- 4:44Speaker 2: and water. They are on the verge of death, having
- 4:48Speaker 2: to dig their own graves. For Thiago to claim he's
- 4:53Speaker 2: been kidnapped is an utter insult. Now it's not just him,
- 4:58Speaker 2: there's another flotilla party, an Irish comedian Tag Hickey. You
- 5:04Speaker 2: can see him sitting to the right of Game of
- 5:06Speaker 2: Thrones actor Liam Cunningham at the press conference yesterday, and
- 5:11Speaker 2: he was excited to be there.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Welcome the beautiful Barcelona or about to set into Gaza.
- 5:19Speaker 6: Well.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Hickey also attended the funeral of the terrorist Hassan is
- 5:23Speaker 2: Israela and he was proud to speak about it online,
- 5:26Speaker 2: calling him an iconic and revolutionary leader who stood up
- 5:32Speaker 2: to the Zionist enemy.
- 5:35Speaker 7: One thing I'm learning about Hassan Nasraela. I just knew
- 5:38Speaker 7: him from his speeches as a revolutionary leader, as somebody
- 5:41Speaker 7: who stood up to the might of the Zionist and
- 5:44Speaker 7: US empire and beat them.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And he even said that Western leaders could learn a
- 5:52Speaker 2: thing or two from Nozralla.
- 5:55Speaker 7: A lot of the things I'm learning about him, I
- 5:57Speaker 7: kind of think to myself, it would be amazing if
- 5:58Speaker 7: some Western leaders behaved in this way.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Seriously, the stupidity, and then after the funeral, Hickey waxed
- 6:08Speaker 2: lyrical about what an incredible experience it was and just
- 6:12Speaker 2: how sad the occasion was.
- 6:15Speaker 7: To say that I feel privileged and blessed to have
- 6:18Speaker 7: been part of that experience is genuinely the understatement of
- 6:21Speaker 7: my life. I suppose let's just begin with the obvious stuff,
- 6:24Speaker 7: the reports that we heard in the West, that there
- 6:26Speaker 7: was going to be no one at this funeral, that
- 6:29Speaker 7: the resistance in Lebanon was effectively finished, Hesbela have no
- 6:32Speaker 7: longer got any popular support. We can all get a
- 6:34Speaker 7: good night's sleep. That may have been a little bit premature, guys, But.
- 6:40Speaker 2: What an embarrassment, and Hickey also moned the death of
- 6:43Speaker 2: Nazarella's bodyguard, writing on social media, the genocidal scum who
- 6:49Speaker 2: killed you are dead inside. Anyway, your humanity and integrity
- 6:55Speaker 2: lives on. And it was of course referring to Israel.
- 6:58Speaker 2: There the two key figures on the Freedom flotilla lauding
- 7:04Speaker 2: a murderous, brutal terrorist. And it comes as Gretathnburg refused
- 7:09Speaker 2: to call out her muss as terrorists in a media interview.
- 7:14Speaker 2: We know your views on what's happening and Israel's actions.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Can I just ask you your thoughts on Hamas they're
- 7:21Speaker 2: still holding hostages. What would your message to Hammas be?
- 7:25Speaker 8: Again, there is a genocide going on. Palestinas have been
- 7:31Speaker 8: living under suffocating oppression and when there's an occupational force,
- 7:36Speaker 8: this is not my views. By international law, people have
- 7:39Speaker 8: a right to resist that occupation, a.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Right to resist. That was her answer to a question
- 7:47Speaker 2: about her mus were just a reminder to Greta her
- 7:52Speaker 2: musk killed children and even tiny babies in their cots
- 7:57Speaker 2: on October sevent is that resistance and the following image
- 8:01Speaker 2: is still distressing, even though it's partially blurred and there
- 8:06Speaker 2: are so many more images you can see here. This
- 8:08Speaker 2: is a bloodied baby's cot. So many more images and
- 8:13Speaker 2: videos from October seven, which unfortunately are too horrific to broadcast.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I wish they weren't because people need to be reminded
- 8:22Speaker 2: that those horrors took place, that those murderers chased and
- 8:28Speaker 2: gunned down teenagers and killed parents in front of their children.
- 8:33Speaker 2: This is the genocideal bloodthirsty terrorist group that Greta refuses
- 8:37Speaker 2: to condemn, the group that started this war and refuses
- 8:41Speaker 2: to end it by continuing to hold hostages. Greta and
- 8:45Speaker 2: her group, as you know, refuse to even watch the
- 8:48Speaker 2: footage from October seven. Now they say they're trying to
- 8:52Speaker 2: deliver aid to Palestinians, but this is exactly what Israel
- 8:56Speaker 2: is doing. As Nate Buzz showed us last.
- 9:01Speaker 3: How many meals have been distributed as of today, So
- 9:04Speaker 3: I'm not sure of the exact number, but I think
- 9:06Speaker 3: we're going to hit one hundred and forty million meals
- 9:08Speaker 3: delivered in three months today.
- 9:11Speaker 2: The entire Freedom Flotilla mission is fraudulent. This isn't about
- 9:17Speaker 2: human rights in truth, They're driven by an irrational hatred
- 9:21Speaker 2: for Israel. They glorify terrorism as martyrdom, they praise terror
- 9:27Speaker 2: leaders as iconic revolutionary figures, and they extol a murderous
- 9:33Speaker 2: movement as resistance. This is a dangerous, disingenuous, misguided mission
- 9:41Speaker 2: masquerading as a humanitarian operation when in fact it excuses
- 9:45Speaker 2: violence in the name of destroying Israel and Zionists. The
- 9:50Speaker 2: Freedom Flotilla should be caught out for what it is,
- 9:54Speaker 2: a group of self obsessed, moronic and racist Israel haters.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And in breaking news this evening, and by the way,
- 10:05Speaker 2: I'm going to come back to that topic with Holly
- 10:07Speaker 2: Hughes and Steve Price in just a minute, but I
- 10:09Speaker 2: just want to bring you this breaking news. Neo Nazi
- 10:12Speaker 2: Thomas Saul has been arrested. This is reportedly over an
- 10:17Speaker 2: alleged attack on the indigenous burial site came Sovereignty on
- 10:21Speaker 2: Sunday evening. Here was the moment he was arrested this afternoon.
- 10:26Speaker 5: I'm under arrest, but this is what happens in the
- 10:29Speaker 5: tyranny of Victoria.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Now, it wasn't related to the shocking moment that he
- 10:35Speaker 2: disrupted a press conference earlier today.
- 10:39Speaker 5: Hey Jamin Allen, why don't you think Australia should the
- 10:42Speaker 5: right to protest.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Now, I wouldn't have spoken about him tonight if it
- 10:47Speaker 2: wasn't going to be for the breaking news of his arrest.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And there is only one thing I have to say
- 10:52Speaker 2: about this neo Nazi, and I think that just about
- 11:00Speaker 2: covers it. Well, let's bring in tonight's panel, Sky News
- 11:04Speaker 2: host Steve Price and farmer Liberal Senator Holly Hughes. Welcome
- 11:08Speaker 2: to you both. Well, let's start off with that story
- 11:12Speaker 2: I had tonight that I spend a large part of
- 11:14Speaker 2: today working on Holly. This freedom flotilla. I mean, you
- 11:19Speaker 2: look at the characters who are organizing it, and this
- 11:21Speaker 2: isn't about humanity.
- 11:23Speaker 9: I mean, there's no arguing with stupid, and I think
- 11:25Speaker 9: that is becoming increasingly apparent when you look at these people.
- 11:28Speaker 9: I mean they are literally supporting terrorists. These people kill
- 11:33Speaker 9: civilians and murder so many people, yet they celebrate them
- 11:37Speaker 9: through attending their funerals. That the behavior and the ignorance
- 11:42Speaker 9: that you see from these people is really beyond the pale.
- 11:45Speaker 9: But Greta Tholnberg, I mean, if it wasn't so serious
- 11:48Speaker 9: what she's doing, she'd almost be the gift that keeps
- 11:50Speaker 9: on giving with the volume of memes and the jokes
- 11:53Speaker 9: that can be made about this woman. But she's not
- 11:55Speaker 9: a misguided teenager anymore. She's now an adult and it's
- 11:58Speaker 9: about time she grows up up and learns how the
- 12:01Speaker 9: world works, because this is absolutely appalling and it's a stunt.
- 12:05Speaker 9: They're not delivering substantial amounts of aid and to gardens anyway.
- 12:09Speaker 9: It's nothing but a stunt. And the less coverage I
- 12:12Speaker 9: think they get, the better. I think it's almost ideal
- 12:15Speaker 9: that they left from one port and they had to
- 12:17Speaker 9: return because the weather, the weather came in on them.
- 12:20Speaker 2: I guess she forgot her original cause exactly now, Steve.
- 12:25Speaker 2: The issue is that millions of people online, you know,
- 12:29Speaker 2: look up to Grata follow her. We saw thousands seeing
- 12:33Speaker 2: this flotilla off, you know, before the bad weather hit.
- 12:37Speaker 2: And they don't understand that these figures that claim to
- 12:41Speaker 2: just want to deliver aid to Gaza are supportive of
- 12:44Speaker 2: murderous terrorists.
- 12:50Speaker 10: Well they need to be cooled out for what they
- 12:51Speaker 10: are and what they are as propaganda tools of Hamas.
- 12:54Speaker 10: I mean, Hamas has done a very good job on propaganda.
- 12:57Speaker 10: We've seen it for the entire time since to the
- 13:01Speaker 10: October seven attacks. They're the masters at it. I mean,
- 13:03Speaker 10: we've seen these photographs, moving pictures out of Gaza where
- 13:08Speaker 10: people are rattling pots and standing four deep screaming about
- 13:12Speaker 10: how they're starving, and then when the camera pans out,
- 13:14Speaker 10: it shows a completely different picture. And the wider problem
- 13:17Speaker 10: is that people like Greta Thunberg, I mean she is
- 13:21Speaker 10: being used as a tool by Hamas, But so are
- 13:24Speaker 10: so many of our young people who are indoctrinated at universities,
- 13:29Speaker 10: They're indoctrinated by the left leaning media, They're indoctrinated, particularly
- 13:34Speaker 10: by social media, and they all jump on board this
- 13:37Speaker 10: thing's thinking it's some magnificent thing to support a group
- 13:41Speaker 10: who've been, as they call it, punished by Israel forever,
- 13:46Speaker 10: and you can't turn them around. I mean, I could
- 13:49Speaker 10: take Holly and you down to any part of Melbourne
- 13:53Speaker 10: on a Sunday when these pro Palestinian marches are on,
- 13:56Speaker 10: and you'll find fifty one hundred, two hundred young people
- 14:00Speaker 10: Thunberg's age who will say exactly the same thing, and
- 14:03Speaker 10: nothing will, nothing convinces them that they're wrong.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Yeah, the ignorance is utterly astonishing. Let's turn to the
- 14:11Speaker 2: migration issue today. Tony Burke confirmed that he's not going
- 14:15Speaker 2: to lower the number of permanent residency migrants, so the
- 14:18Speaker 2: current cap of one hundred and eighty five thousand is
- 14:21Speaker 2: set to remain in place. This is despite the nationwide
- 14:24Speaker 2: protests over the weekend in opposition to the current migration settings. Now,
- 14:28Speaker 2: despite this, the Prime Minister has been claiming that the
- 14:32Speaker 2: numbers are falling.
- 14:35Speaker 11: Like our our net overseas migration is falling. It feils
- 14:39Speaker 11: substantially in twenty and twenty four. Of course there were
- 14:43Speaker 11: going to be an increased number after the lockdown of
- 14:47Speaker 11: our entire continent that occurred during COVID to.
- 14:50Speaker 2: These people were getting the numbers down.
- 14:53Speaker 11: Well, we are getting the numbers down now.
- 14:57Speaker 2: It looks slightly different figures wholly the per residency migrants
- 15:01Speaker 2: versus the net overseas migration. But either way there is
- 15:04Speaker 2: no commitment by the Albanese government actually properly you know,
- 15:09Speaker 2: abandon their Big Australia or agenda.
- 15:12Speaker 1: No.
- 15:12Speaker 9: Labor is absolutely determined to see a big Australia, and
- 15:14Speaker 9: we can see these numbers are not really declining in
- 15:17Speaker 9: the way that they say they are. Yes, we have
- 15:20Speaker 9: the five hundred plus thousand after COVID, but we're still
- 15:23Speaker 9: seeing over two hundred thousand people coming into this country
- 15:27Speaker 9: fifteen hundred a day, I must say, and I'll say
- 15:30Speaker 9: this as a former senator, I've been really disappointed that
- 15:33Speaker 9: the Opposition hasn't come out and taken some ownership of
- 15:36Speaker 9: this issue. I think Australians are absolutely fed up to
- 15:39Speaker 9: the back teeth with these high levels of migration. They
- 15:41Speaker 9: cannot get a rental property, they can't get into the
- 15:44Speaker 9: housing market. They see their universities being absolutely flooded with
- 15:49Speaker 9: overseas students, and in fact the quality of the teaching
- 15:51Speaker 9: being diminished by the fact that they're catering to so
- 15:54Speaker 9: many international students. And I think Australians are ready to
- 15:58Speaker 9: see a significant decline. We know that we need to
- 16:01Speaker 9: still have migration when it comes to getting the skills
- 16:03Speaker 9: that we need into our country, but this just seems
- 16:06Speaker 9: to be, you know, open up the door, because I
- 16:09Speaker 9: don't think there's any shortage of uber drivers in Australia
- 16:12Speaker 9: at the moment, but there's nothing being done to bring
- 16:14Speaker 9: down the numbers in migration.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Well, the issue is also infrastructure, the housing crisis. But Steve,
- 16:20Speaker 2: I just want to actually pick up on something Wholly
- 16:22Speaker 2: said there about she's disappointed the Coalition hasn't taken up
- 16:25Speaker 2: this issue or any issue. But I heard Chris Kenny
- 16:30Speaker 2: interview the shadow Immigration Minister on air earlier this evening
- 16:34Speaker 2: and he said, do you support this number? Do you
- 16:36Speaker 2: oppose this number? What would your number be? And the
- 16:39Speaker 2: coalitions nowhere, how do they hope of winning an election
- 16:43Speaker 2: if they don't even have basic positions such as on
- 16:46Speaker 2: immigration or.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Energy, Well they have to do that.
- 16:52Speaker 10: I mean, they've been so pathetic on it. I mean
- 16:54Speaker 10: one hundred and eighty three thousand people, okay, So where
- 16:57Speaker 10: are those one hundred and eighty three thousand people coming from?
- 17:00Speaker 10: And what are their skills? Are we importing into the
- 17:02Speaker 10: country the people we need to fill the holes in
- 17:05Speaker 10: the job vacancies that we do need, or are we
- 17:07Speaker 10: importing a whole bunch of people I mean to ride
- 17:10Speaker 10: around on electric bikes and deliver food to people who
- 17:12Speaker 10: are too lazy to go out at night. And where
- 17:14Speaker 10: we have to have genuine questions and why is the
- 17:16Speaker 10: opposition not saying this? Why is the opposition not saying okay,
- 17:20Speaker 10: one hundred and eighty three thousand, Why don't we have
- 17:22Speaker 10: not that many for twelve months or for twenty four
- 17:25Speaker 10: months until we catch up. If you live in a
- 17:27Speaker 10: place like Melbourne in particular, and that's obviously where I live,
- 17:31Speaker 10: You've got five point four million people in this city
- 17:34Speaker 10: already it's about to go in the next five years
- 17:37Speaker 10: to seven million people. It can't cope. The roads can't cope,
- 17:41Speaker 10: the schools can't cope. There's no houses for people. Who
- 17:44Speaker 10: brings lots of people into the country where there's nowhere
- 17:47Speaker 10: for them to live, and the people who are here
- 17:50Speaker 10: have to rent at extraordinary prices. I mean, it makes
- 17:53Speaker 10: no sense. But what really annoys me, Holly and Shahi
- 17:56Speaker 10: is the moment you try and have a conversation about this,
- 18:00Speaker 10: you're labeled a racist. You're labeled as you know, silly,
- 18:03Speaker 10: old white fool who doesn't understand. I mean, we have
- 18:06Speaker 10: to be able to have an adult conversation about what's
- 18:09Speaker 10: the mixed Australian needs and how do we get to
- 18:12Speaker 10: a point where we can cope with all of these people.
- 18:14Speaker 10: What's the policy on decentralization? They don't have one.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and the two points of debate are one the number,
- 18:23Speaker 2: what is the right number at the moment for how
- 18:25Speaker 2: much our country can handle at the moment. And you know,
- 18:29Speaker 2: there's no argument with the fact that we do have
- 18:31Speaker 2: a housing crisis. Impossible.
- 18:32Speaker 9: We've've also got a crime wave going on in a
- 18:34Speaker 9: number of our state.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and we're getting to that now. So one is
- 18:37Speaker 2: the number and second is just making sure immigrants share
- 18:40Speaker 2: our Western values, which I spoke about last night. Well,
- 18:43Speaker 2: moving to the crime wave in Melbourne, I mean, there's
- 18:46Speaker 2: been now a horror spate of carjackings over the past
- 18:49Speaker 2: forty eight hours. At this vision is particularly heartbreaking. Two
- 18:55Speaker 2: masked thubs, thugs jump into a car. There's two four
- 18:59Speaker 2: year old children in the back and you can see
- 19:02Speaker 2: in the footage their distraught mother runs after them as
- 19:06Speaker 2: the vehicle takes off. I mean, can you imagine being
- 19:09Speaker 2: that mother watching thugs take off with your car with
- 19:14Speaker 2: your children inside. I mean, just would it be a
- 19:18Speaker 2: worse moment, Holly. I mean, this crime situation in Victoria.
- 19:23Speaker 9: It's out of control, but no one's saying exactly where
- 19:26Speaker 9: it is or what it's coming from.
- 19:27Speaker 2: And they know that it's these youth gangs.
- 19:29Speaker 9: They've got machete bins costing half a million dollars or
- 19:32Speaker 9: some ridiculous figure that apparently these gangs are about to
- 19:35Speaker 9: put machetes in them. I mean, Steve, you just talked
- 19:37Speaker 9: about living in Melbourne. I actually am very sorry for
- 19:40Speaker 9: you for that, and I think you know all cutos
- 19:43Speaker 9: to you hang it into Melbourne. But honestly, to be
- 19:46Speaker 9: you've got to be a lover of Victoria to still
- 19:48Speaker 9: be there after what Dan Andrews and just Inter Allen's
- 19:51Speaker 9: now continuing to do to that stay. But the crime
- 19:53Speaker 9: in Victoria is out of control, and no one wants
- 19:57Speaker 9: to talk about the links to migration, the links to
- 20:00Speaker 9: people coming to this country that aren't sharing our values,
- 20:02Speaker 9: that don't understand our culture and are bringing not grievances these.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Perpetrators of the crime.
- 20:08Speaker 9: No, but there is those youth criminal gangs that there's
- 20:11Speaker 9: been a lot of coverage off that's coming from first
- 20:13Speaker 9: generation migrants, and we know to ignore that is to
- 20:18Speaker 9: put our heads in the sound with some of this.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Issue, Steve, I mean, it's getting so bad. I've been
- 20:24Speaker 2: to I visited Melbourne a few times recently and just
- 20:28Speaker 2: normal people are worried about their safety in regular suburban hopes.
- 20:36Speaker 10: This has become Johannesburg twenty twenty five and we used
- 20:40Speaker 10: to talk about South Africa and they tell you, you know,
- 20:43Speaker 10: lock your car doors, don't stop at red lights. That's
- 20:46Speaker 10: what's come to in Melbourne. I mean, we had to
- 20:48Speaker 10: have a discussion today, your producer and I about which
- 20:51Speaker 10: card jacking will be talking about. Think about that for
- 20:53Speaker 10: a moment, both of you. Which card jacking will be
- 20:56Speaker 10: talking about yesterday in Melbourne. Was it the one where
- 21:00Speaker 10: the father locked the doors and the masked hoods were
- 21:04Speaker 10: trying to rip them open as he drove off and
- 21:07Speaker 10: tried to run them over. Or was it the one
- 21:09Speaker 10: where two four year old children in a car and
- 21:12Speaker 10: one of the blokes who pinched the vehicle got in
- 21:15Speaker 10: the back with the children and then his mate drives off.
- 21:19Speaker 10: They were dropped off by two women in another car
- 21:22Speaker 10: who police then arrested and guess what, they gave them
- 21:25Speaker 10: a court date in the future to appear. So these
- 21:28Speaker 10: two blokes take off they realized these kids are in
- 21:30Speaker 10: the car. They dropped one poor kid at a mushroom
- 21:32Speaker 10: farm and another one further down the road. The only
- 21:35Speaker 10: way anyone knew where they were is because a member
- 21:39Speaker 10: of the public saw what was happening. Followed the car
- 21:41Speaker 10: and rang triple zero two car Jakins yesterday. We've had
- 21:46Speaker 10: four days.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Thank god for that member of the public. Correct, I
- 21:52Speaker 2: mean just terrified. But you imagine the trauma kids would
- 21:55Speaker 2: be dealing with, and the nightmass and you.
- 21:59Speaker 10: Think forty five minutes it was till the mother found
- 22:01Speaker 10: out where her children were, they were gone.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Unbelieve it's not it's just not good enough. I can't
- 22:09Speaker 2: believe this is the country we're living in, Holly Hugh,
- 22:12Speaker 2: Steve Price. Great to see you both, and good to
- 22:14Speaker 2: have you back, Steve. Thanks Shari. Now, Criticism of former
- 22:20Speaker 2: Labor Premiers Bob Carr and Daniel Andrews is mounting as
- 22:23Speaker 2: the pair reportedly gear up to visit Beijing at shi
- 22:27Speaker 2: Jingping's invitation, alongside Vladimir Putin, Kim John Ung and the
- 22:32Speaker 2: Iranian President. Let's bring in our shadow Defense Minister, Angus Taylor,
- 22:38Speaker 2: and it's good to see you. Now. Are you worried
- 22:40Speaker 2: about good show, the Bricks Alliance and just how Putin
- 22:44Speaker 2: is being celebrated at this gathering?
- 22:48Speaker 12: Well, this is quite extraordinary, Shari. We've got two senior
- 22:52Speaker 12: labor figures who are heading to China to celebrate the
- 22:57Speaker 12: biggest military build up of the Chinese Communist Party in history,
- 23:02Speaker 12: and they'll be out the military parade from what I
- 23:04Speaker 12: can gather, and they are, so this parade will be
- 23:07Speaker 12: celebrating that military build up of the Chinese Communist Party.
- 23:11Speaker 12: But they're also hanging out with authoritarian dictators from around
- 23:15Speaker 12: the world. And these people seriously do not share our values.
- 23:20Speaker 12: We're seeing authoritarian regimes flexing their muscles now in ways
- 23:24Speaker 12: that we haven't seen in the past. This is clearly
- 23:26Speaker 12: the most dangerous time the world has faced since the
- 23:29Speaker 12: Second World War, and yet we're seeing Bob Carr and
- 23:35Speaker 12: Dan Andrews heading up to celebrate with these people. Now
- 23:38Speaker 12: there's a real question here what does the Prime minister
- 23:41Speaker 12: think about this has been solent on it, but I
- 23:43Speaker 12: think he needs to be clear about whether he supports
- 23:46Speaker 12: what they're doing.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah, look, as you said that anti Western alliance. You said,
- 23:51Speaker 2: this is the most dangerous time since World War Two,
- 23:54Speaker 2: and at this point in time, Australia's Prime minister has
- 23:58Speaker 2: had what four meetings now with President she and hasn't
- 24:02Speaker 2: met with the United States president. I mean this is
- 24:05Speaker 2: highly concerning, isn't it. We would be relying on the
- 24:09Speaker 2: United States, if God forbid, we need any help defending
- 24:13Speaker 2: Australia militarily well.
- 24:16Speaker 12: I mean, he seems far more comfortable setting up and
- 24:19Speaker 12: attending a meeting with the leader of the Chinese Communist
- 24:22Speaker 12: Party than the leader of the free world in the
- 24:24Speaker 12: United States, and it is a concern. He needs a
- 24:27Speaker 12: face to face meeting with the President of the United
- 24:30Speaker 12: States to sure up our alliance with the United States
- 24:33Speaker 12: and particularly Orcus, which is crucial at this time, the
- 24:37Speaker 12: nuclear submarines and all the technology around that. And so look,
- 24:42Speaker 12: the Prime Minister Albanezi needs to get serious about making
- 24:46Speaker 12: sure that we are in the position we need to
- 24:49Speaker 12: be to underwrite peace and deterrence in our region in
- 24:53Speaker 12: the years to come. It is the most uncertain and
- 24:55Speaker 12: dangerous time since the Second World War, and he's just
- 24:58Speaker 12: not making the moves necessary to sure up the peace
- 25:01Speaker 12: we all want to see into the future.
- 25:04Speaker 2: We also saw images coming out of that meeting of
- 25:06Speaker 2: the United Nations Chief Antonio Gothrez meet with the Iranian
- 25:11Speaker 2: president I mean, to discuss Iran's nuclear program and other things,
- 25:15Speaker 2: very warm, friendly greeting. I mean, does this show as
- 25:19Speaker 2: well how morally corrupt the United Nations is it's constantly
- 25:24Speaker 2: criticizing Israel and it's chummy with Iran.
- 25:28Speaker 12: Well, it's a deep concern again, I mean, with these
- 25:30Speaker 12: authoritarian regimes are so far from the values of our
- 25:34Speaker 12: country from where we have come from, from what we
- 25:37Speaker 12: believe the rule of lord, democracy, the right of our
- 25:42Speaker 12: citizens to be free to speak freely and so on.
- 25:45Speaker 12: I mean, these countries do not believe in these things,
- 25:48Speaker 12: chari and yet they're being celebrated by the left around
- 25:52Speaker 12: the world. And sadly, we've got a Prime minister who
- 25:56Speaker 12: seems to not be willing to take on these regimes in.
- 26:01Speaker 1: The way that he should. Now I do, by the way, I.
- 26:04Speaker 12: Acknowledge that he has made the right news in listing
- 26:09Speaker 12: the IIGC as a terrorist organization, But frankly it should
- 26:13Speaker 12: have happened far earlier.
- 26:15Speaker 1: It's taken way too long.
- 26:16Speaker 2: No exactly, I just want to ask you about a
- 26:18Speaker 2: couple of other topics. And look, you might not have
- 26:20Speaker 2: seen this story tonight. My colleague Lee and Mendy's in
- 26:24Speaker 2: The Australian has just broken a big story that isis
- 26:28Speaker 2: brides are set to be returned home before Christmas. Now
- 26:32Speaker 2: the story is really unusual because in the copy it
- 26:35Speaker 2: says that Tony Burke isn't taking any responsibility for this.
- 26:40Speaker 2: I mean, how can the government distance itself from a
- 26:44Speaker 2: decision like this? And do you agree with the decision
- 26:46Speaker 2: should the ISIS brides be returned to Australia.
- 26:51Speaker 12: Well, I've only just seen the article, Sherry, but can
- 26:53Speaker 12: I say there are some serious questions see for Tony
- 26:56Speaker 12: Burke for the government to answer. What have been the
- 26:59Speaker 12: securitypearances here? How are we going to be confident that
- 27:05Speaker 12: we won't have the security of Australians affected by these
- 27:08Speaker 12: people coming back? You know, the first job of any
- 27:10Speaker 12: government is to keep its citizens safe and I think
- 27:14Speaker 12: it's incumbent on Tony Burke to answer those questions.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Ray how they was on my show last night and
- 27:20Speaker 2: he was absolutely furious at Susan Lee and the Coalition.
- 27:26Speaker 2: This is the issue about the four Australian soldiers who
- 27:29Speaker 2: were killed in the fatal taipe Ian chopper crash two
- 27:33Speaker 2: years ago. Just have a look at this.
- 27:36Speaker 10: Susan Lee and the Liberal government agree to this conspiracy.
- 27:40Speaker 1: It's justice that they're all complicit, bar the Greens, One
- 27:45Speaker 1: Nation and David Pocock.
- 27:48Speaker 2: So I gus the Senate blocked emotion which essentially asked
- 27:51Speaker 2: for documents which would have shown why the Commonwealth Director
- 27:54Speaker 2: of Public Prosecutions didn't prosecute the Defense Department over that
- 27:58Speaker 2: fatal helicopter crash. Why would the Coalition side with Labor
- 28:02Speaker 2: on this? Why wouldn't the Coalition vote for the release
- 28:05Speaker 2: of those documents for a full inquiry into this?
- 28:09Speaker 1: Well?
- 28:10Speaker 12: Can I say Shari that I share Ray Hadley's deep
- 28:13Speaker 12: concern that the families get a fair say here and
- 28:17Speaker 12: get to ask the questions they need to be able
- 28:20Speaker 12: to ask. That was a vote in the Senate. My
- 28:22Speaker 12: understanding was we supported the release of the Comcare documents.
- 28:27Speaker 12: There were concerns about the release of the Commonwealth Director
- 28:30Speaker 12: of Public Prosecution documents because of legal precedent around that. However,
- 28:34Speaker 12: I have written today to the Minister asking that families
- 28:37Speaker 12: be able to meet with the Commonwealth Director of Public
- 28:40Speaker 12: Prosecutions to ask questions and to understand what was in
- 28:43Speaker 12: that report. I think the families have that right. It's
- 28:46Speaker 12: a letter I've personally signed along with your Center Price
- 28:50Speaker 12: and Phil Thompson as well as Darren Chester. We all
- 28:53Speaker 12: work in the defense area, and I think the families
- 28:56Speaker 12: have every right to ask questions and to get a
- 28:59Speaker 12: fair here and to make sure that they get the
- 29:03Speaker 12: answers to the questions they deserve.
- 29:05Speaker 2: My understanding is that they are also calling for an inquiry.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Would you support that?
- 29:12Speaker 1: Well?
- 29:12Speaker 12: I think the first step is that they get a
- 29:14Speaker 12: chance to actually ask the Commonwealth, the CDPP what their findings,
- 29:19Speaker 12: what was behind their findings, and get to ask questions
- 29:22Speaker 12: around the issues. I mean, I think the family deserves
- 29:26Speaker 12: that they deserve the respect of the CDPP and they
- 29:29Speaker 12: certainly deserve to get asked questions of it. And then
- 29:33Speaker 12: if they still we're going to go down that path, well,
- 29:35Speaker 12: let's see, we will stay. We've been in touch with
- 29:38Speaker 12: the family. Phil Thompson in particular has been engaged with
- 29:42Speaker 12: the family and will continue to work with them to
- 29:44Speaker 12: make sure that they get the answers that they deserve.
- 29:47Speaker 2: All right, Angus Taylor, thank you so much for your time.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Appreciate it. Still to come. Trump wares that Israel is
- 29:54Speaker 2: losing the public relations. Well, Elon Levy will be on
- 29:57Speaker 2: the show plus an expert would join me to discuss
- 30:00Speaker 2: how dangerous the move by the new South Wales government
- 30:03Speaker 2: is to take away sharknets. He's up next. Welcome back.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Let's return now to the controversial move by the New
- 30:14Speaker 2: South Wales government to trial the removal of sharknets from
- 30:18Speaker 2: three beaches now. The state government has asked Waverley, Northern
- 30:23Speaker 2: Beaches and Central Coast councils each to nominate a beach
- 30:27Speaker 2: where the shark nets will be removed. Now. The three
- 30:30Speaker 2: beaches have not been made public yet. Now this trial
- 30:34Speaker 2: has attracted criticism from some, but environmentalists claim that sharknets
- 30:40Speaker 2: are damaging sea life.
- 30:43Speaker 5: There's no point in having the nets.
- 30:45Speaker 12: We should be using alternative smart drum lines look like
- 30:48Speaker 12: they do the jobs, and drones.
- 30:50Speaker 3: If you're interested in protecting the public and.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Joining me now is freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker Fred Paul,
- 30:57Speaker 2: and in fact Fred is making a documentary on this
- 30:59Speaker 2: very topic. Fred, good to see you again.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Thanks, Sharry.
- 31:02Speaker 2: So, how dangerous is this to remove sharknets? I mean,
- 31:06Speaker 2: particularly Waverley. This covers the eastern beaches of Sydney that
- 31:11Speaker 2: are some of the most popular beaches in the world.
- 31:13Speaker 13: Well, I think you can gauge howerous. Dangerous it is.
- 31:18Speaker 13: By the way they've made this decision so the state
- 31:21Speaker 13: government has delegated responsibility of choosing which beach to nominate
- 31:27Speaker 13: as the net free beach in each of these council areas.
- 31:31Speaker 13: Now by doing that, they're kind of spreading around the
- 31:33Speaker 13: responsibility for the decision, and in that, in my opinion,
- 31:36Speaker 13: that is their admission that they think this is actually
- 31:39Speaker 13: a dangerous thing to do, because when someone does get
- 31:41Speaker 13: killed at an unprotected beach, which is what happens often,
- 31:47Speaker 13: they won't be able to, you know, accept responsibility for it.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I mean nets have been nets.
- 31:53Speaker 13: We're introduced in New South Wales in nineteen thirty seven.
- 31:56Speaker 13: In the three years before that, there were nine deaths
- 31:59Speaker 13: in Sydney, nine deaths in three years, three a year,
- 32:03Speaker 13: and the state government convened a committee and they come
- 32:06Speaker 13: up with this novel idea, let's put these nets in
- 32:08Speaker 13: and see if they work.
- 32:09Speaker 2: They've worked.
- 32:10Speaker 13: Ever since, there have been The Sydney Morning Herald said
- 32:12Speaker 13: a couple of days ago that there's been one death
- 32:15Speaker 13: at a protected beach since then, that it's arguable that
- 32:18Speaker 13: there might have been two. A couple of years ago
- 32:19Speaker 13: there was a death at a beach near Marubra, which
- 32:22Speaker 13: has a couple of nets at it. So let's say
- 32:26Speaker 13: in the almost one hundred years since then, there's been
- 32:28Speaker 13: two deaths at protected beaches, there's been dozens at unprotected beaches.
- 32:32Speaker 13: Same situation applies in Queensland. Two deaths since nineteen sixty
- 32:36Speaker 13: two at protected beaches, dozens at unprotected ones. The statistics
- 32:40Speaker 13: are absolutely clear. When there was a crisis in nineteen
- 32:43Speaker 13: thirty seven, the government said, what.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Can we do to protect people?
- 32:47Speaker 13: We are going through a crisis now, shari these we
- 32:51Speaker 13: are going through a massive spate of shark attacks. They
- 32:54Speaker 13: are increasing as a result of the protection of Great
- 32:57Speaker 13: Whites in two thousand.
- 33:00Speaker 1: What's the response now?
- 33:00Speaker 13: The response now is how do we protect the sharks?
- 33:04Speaker 2: Yeah, so this is a sustained campaign from environmentalists. Now,
- 33:08Speaker 2: I played last night a clip on the show of
- 33:10Speaker 2: the argument that they're killing sharks the nets. And sure
- 33:15Speaker 2: I accept that these nets would be damaging to see life.
- 33:19Speaker 2: And that is sad, and that is unfortunate. And you know,
- 33:23Speaker 2: I care about animals. Want anyone to think I don't,
- 33:26Speaker 2: You know I do, But surely you prioritize the life
- 33:31Speaker 2: of children of people overseeing Indeed, I.
- 33:36Speaker 13: Mean just a couple of years ago tragically, a fifteen
- 33:39Speaker 13: year old kid was killed in South Australia and a
- 33:43Speaker 13: few years prior to that, a fourteen year old kid
- 33:46Speaker 13: I think it was killed on the north coast of
- 33:49Speaker 13: New South Wales. I mean talk about one of the
- 33:52Speaker 13: issues in my documentary. I ask a lot of people,
- 33:56Speaker 13: is a shark's life more important than a human's? And
- 33:59Speaker 13: you would be astonished, alarmed and disturbed by the number
- 34:02Speaker 13: of people who say.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Yes, sharks. It's doing.
- 34:05Speaker 13: Academics, no, people on the street, I've vox popped them this.
- 34:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 34:10Speaker 13: And this is why politicians think they can get away
- 34:12Speaker 13: with this, because they think that there's a lot of
- 34:15Speaker 13: ground swell of support for sharks at the expense of
- 34:18Speaker 13: human lives.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Are there technology because we hear the eye comment that
- 34:22Speaker 2: drone technology, for example, just as good.
- 34:25Speaker 13: As don't get me started on drones. When I heard
- 34:28Speaker 13: that guy talking about drones just a second ago, it
- 34:30Speaker 13: infuriates me. The best time to go surfing is when
- 34:33Speaker 13: the ocean is quite rough, like drones work in a
- 34:37Speaker 13: placid water. And when they sell us the idea of drones,
- 34:42Speaker 13: they show footage of a drone flying over a beach
- 34:44Speaker 13: where there's no waves in bright sunshine and anything swimming
- 34:47Speaker 13: against a sand bottom can be seen. Ideal surfing conditions
- 34:52Speaker 13: are rough, there's often low light and.
- 34:54Speaker 1: We surf above rocks.
- 34:56Speaker 13: Sharks are absolutely camouflaged in those situations. There was an
- 35:00Speaker 13: there was an occasion we all know a few years
- 35:02Speaker 13: ago when Mick Fanning was attacked. That's live on television
- 35:08Speaker 13: at Jbay in South Africa. There were three cameras on
- 35:12Speaker 13: him at the time. Not one of them saw the
- 35:14Speaker 13: shark coming.
- 35:16Speaker 2: And just by the way, I want to bring you
- 35:17Speaker 2: the statement from the New South Wales Agriculture Minister Tara Moriati.
- 35:22Speaker 2: The New South Wales government's priority is the safety of
- 35:25Speaker 2: beach goers and at the same time is committed to
- 35:29Speaker 2: protecting the state's marine life. So that's behind the move
- 35:34Speaker 2: to remove shark nets at three beaches. All right, Fred Paul,
- 35:38Speaker 2: thank you so.
- 35:39Speaker 6: Much for be pleasure.
- 35:39Speaker 13: Thank you, Sherry, and we'll.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Have you on again to talk about your documentary when
- 35:43Speaker 2: it's released in a couple of weeks.
- 35:44Speaker 13: Please thank you.
- 35:46Speaker 2: All right. Coming up Donald Trump's concern that Israel is
- 35:49Speaker 2: losing the pr war. Elon Levy will be on the
- 35:51Speaker 2: show and major labour figures set to attend a military
- 35:55Speaker 2: parade in Beijing with anti Western world leaders Cameron Milner
- 35:59Speaker 2: and James Willis. Be here next. Welcome back, and let's
- 36:06Speaker 2: bring in now Bill Shotton's former chief of staff and
- 36:09Speaker 2: Labor State Secretary Cameron Milner and Daily Telegraph journalist James Willis.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Wonderful to see you, Bothe Hey, I'm going to start
- 36:16Speaker 2: with how the Prime Minister is handling the criticism from
- 36:20Speaker 2: farmers over renewables. Now in question Time today, Dan Tin
- 36:25Speaker 2: was ejected from the chamber after a stoush with alban
- 36:29Speaker 2: Easy over this very issue. Have a look.
- 36:33Speaker 14: The question was why was the Prime Minister chased out
- 36:37Speaker 14: of ballad.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Actor No, you're going to leave the chamber under ninety
- 36:40Speaker 1: four A.
- 36:43Speaker 6: No Now.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I spoke to Dante and today about what exactly went
- 37:03Speaker 2: on now. He was ejected when he called out that
- 37:06Speaker 2: it was like a scene from Chariots of Fire. And
- 37:10Speaker 2: he said that Alberizi had called him a coward, and
- 37:14Speaker 2: he said, as you heard there, no, you are the coward. Now.
- 37:18Speaker 2: He also told me that Albanzi has a glass jaw.
- 37:21Speaker 2: He said to me, of all the days for the
- 37:23Speaker 2: Prime Minister to be calling people a coward, when all
- 37:26Speaker 2: anyone was referencing was the fact that he was run
- 37:28Speaker 2: out of town by farmers deeply concerned with his policies.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Just shows how much of a glass jaw he's got. Now,
- 37:35Speaker 2: on that note, I want to bring you in, Cameron,
- 37:38Speaker 2: because you've been arguing this for a long time that
- 37:40Speaker 2: Albanzi has a glass jaw.
- 37:44Speaker 1: He does a very thin skin Shari.
- 37:46Speaker 15: I mean, this is a guy who's fundamentally weak but
- 37:49Speaker 15: pants to project being someone's who's well liked. Well No,
- 37:52Speaker 15: I mean compare John Howe, who in the gun controller
- 37:55Speaker 15: here in ninety six after Port Arthur, stop in front
- 37:57Speaker 15: of angry crowds and explain why they need to be
- 38:00Speaker 15: gun control in Australia. Albo couldn't explain why the transmission
- 38:03Speaker 15: lines had to be there. He cut and ran, cut
- 38:06Speaker 15: and ran from Ballarat because he's such a weak prime minister.
- 38:09Speaker 2: And this is just how angry the farmers were in Ballarat.
- 38:13Speaker 16: Have a look.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Now, this was the Ballarat Bush Summit, But James, you
- 38:33Speaker 2: were mediating at the wager Bush Summit and you heard
- 38:37Speaker 2: the same anger from farmers over the renewables.
- 38:40Speaker 14: Yeah, look, Sherry, this is everywhere, and the problem here
- 38:43Speaker 14: is that the Prime Minister in Labor off the back
- 38:45Speaker 14: of the election results would feel like they've got a
- 38:48Speaker 14: mandate and with the quarters that go on when we
- 38:51Speaker 14: see the emissions updates, when we fall behind. The concern
- 38:55Speaker 14: is because these regional seats no longer matter to Labour's
- 39:00Speaker 14: strong force in the government and this sort of changing electorate,
- 39:02Speaker 14: the people in the Bush are going to be railroaded.
- 39:05Speaker 1: They already feel like that.
- 39:06Speaker 14: There are large parts of New South Wales and also
- 39:09Speaker 14: Victoria that have already done their fair share of renewables. Towns,
- 39:13Speaker 14: I might add that were the first towns to say yeah, okay,
- 39:16Speaker 14: we'll take wind farms, will take sola, we'll get the
- 39:19Speaker 14: investment that's come with it. And it's now at the
- 39:21Speaker 14: point where in a place like Yas in New South
- 39:23Speaker 14: Wales you've got seven hundred turbines either built or in
- 39:26Speaker 14: development and they're saying enough is enough. The fear is
- 39:30Speaker 14: that Labor, as I say, doesn't need these seats anymore.
- 39:33Speaker 14: And so for the Nationals you begin to understand why
- 39:36Speaker 14: there is this battle in the party room, to the
- 39:38Speaker 14: point where there are some National MPs that if they
- 39:41Speaker 14: backnet zero, they'd struggle to walk down the street in
- 39:44Speaker 14: their hometowns, such as the anger at the moment about
- 39:46Speaker 14: these projects.
- 39:48Speaker 2: And I think that's right. And we heard you, James,
- 39:51Speaker 2: you were asking why aren't some of the renewable projects
- 39:54Speaker 2: built in in Sydney or in any of the cities,
- 39:56Speaker 2: because they are predominantly in regional areas. Cameron, there's this issue,
- 40:00Speaker 2: there is this genuine anger and it's fine for people
- 40:04Speaker 2: in the city to say, I know, we support renewables,
- 40:06Speaker 2: but it's not on their property.
- 40:11Speaker 15: No, And we have to have the balance, don't we.
- 40:13Speaker 15: We have to make sure that, like in Queensland for instance,
- 40:15Speaker 15: you have to have the community behind you. So wind
- 40:17Speaker 15: farms are still going to be built under the Christophili
- 40:18Speaker 15: government here in Queensland, but only with community support. It's
- 40:22Speaker 15: only where the community, James backs it. And as you
- 40:24Speaker 15: said about some of these communities before, we were happy
- 40:26Speaker 15: to have some renewables in their committee, not just all renewables.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Yeah. And James, you're reporting in the Daily Telegraph tomorrow
- 40:32Speaker 2: that farmers have been wanned that if they host net
- 40:36Speaker 2: zero projects on their property and then if something goes wrong,
- 40:39Speaker 2: they might actually have to pay the bill. Is this right?
- 40:43Speaker 14: Well, this is mindlessly complicated, but you imagine every one.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Of these projects. Sharry has a.
- 40:48Speaker 14: Decommissioning plan, which is the plan for in twenty thirty
- 40:50Speaker 14: years when the turbines reach end of life and have
- 40:53Speaker 14: to be brought down. Now, the government in New South
- 40:56Speaker 14: Wales Queensland's doing a little bit better job, but in
- 40:59Speaker 14: New South Wales they are just hoping that these companies
- 41:02Speaker 14: are still around in ten years and twenty years and
- 41:06Speaker 14: are saving the money required to bring these turbines down.
- 41:10Speaker 14: The average cost is about four hundred and eighty thousand
- 41:13Speaker 14: dollars per turbine, and the government had been pushed to
- 41:16Speaker 14: put a bond in place, which I think would have
- 41:18Speaker 14: been very sensible.
- 41:19Speaker 1: That's what happens with the mine.
- 41:20Speaker 14: You've got to put the money up front to guarantee
- 41:22Speaker 14: in twenty years you've got that payment to put the
- 41:25Speaker 14: land back to normal. Instead, it's a lot of good
- 41:29Speaker 14: grace and just hoping that these green energy guys, a
- 41:31Speaker 14: lot of them that are good, some of them that
- 41:33Speaker 14: are not so good, are just going to do the
- 41:35Speaker 14: right thing in twenty years and hand over millions of
- 41:38Speaker 14: dollars to rehabilitate the land. So there's a big concern there,
- 41:41Speaker 14: and I don't think governments have done enough.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Cameron. I'm keen to ask you about your labor colleagues,
- 41:47Speaker 2: if I can call them colleagues, Daniel Andrews and Bob Carr. Look,
- 41:52Speaker 2: we haven't seen them land in China yet, but it's
- 41:55Speaker 2: been widely reported that they have been invited to President
- 41:58Speaker 2: She's parade, military parade, this anti Western meeting. Is this
- 42:04Speaker 2: appropriate that they attend.
- 42:07Speaker 15: Well, it's not appropriate, and it's also a national disgrace, Shari.
- 42:10Speaker 15: I mean these are labor premiers which are held in
- 42:13Speaker 15: reasonably good esteem, who are clearly obviously paying or playing
- 42:16Speaker 15: to Beijing's tune. Now, I mean they're just pawns in
- 42:18Speaker 15: a China propaganda game, because.
- 42:21Speaker 1: That's all GI's big show of force is.
- 42:23Speaker 15: You know, he's there with despots and dictators and Dan Andrews,
- 42:27Speaker 15: and that's the big prize for Chinese propaganda's.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Bob car is pretty irrelevant.
- 42:30Speaker 15: He's a bit like the you know, the uncle you
- 42:32Speaker 15: have to invite to the wedding with the blue Safari suit,
- 42:34Speaker 15: the stains down the front.
- 42:35Speaker 1: He's a pretty irrelevant these days. Dan Andrews is the big.
- 42:37Speaker 15: Prize because he's Albow's best mate's. That's why China will
- 42:42Speaker 15: be so happy when Dan Andrews shows up if he
- 42:43Speaker 15: does tomorrow, because that will be the big embarrassment of Albow,
- 42:46Speaker 15: big embarrassment for Aucas and big embarrassment before he sees Trump.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Just sticking with you, Cameron for a second. Albo will
- 42:53Speaker 2: have to call this out if they show up and
- 42:55Speaker 2: it's in the media everywhere. He's going to be asked
- 42:57Speaker 2: about this. I mean, he has to criticize it, doesn't he.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I know, he'll slip the slide like your ways does, Shari.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Yeah, And if he doesn't, well, that'll just reinforce the
- 43:10Speaker 2: view that is utterly weak.
- 43:11Speaker 14: Well, but labor and China have gone hand in hand
- 43:14Speaker 14: for a long period of time.
- 43:15Speaker 1: You look at some of.
- 43:16Speaker 14: Paul Keating's business dealings on the side. But also remember
- 43:20Speaker 14: Dan Andrews was in favor of the Builton Road, which
- 43:22Speaker 14: has crippled other countries that have done deals with China
- 43:26Speaker 14: to build infrastructure projects. All of a sudden, you can't
- 43:29Speaker 14: pay in China says that's okay, we'll take your airport.
- 43:32Speaker 14: We'll take your port and you don't have to pay
- 43:33Speaker 14: us back.
- 43:34Speaker 2: And that Belton rolled initiative that down Andrews Victoria up
- 43:37Speaker 2: to was even against federal government national security advice. I
- 43:40Speaker 2: remember reporting that at the time. All right, James willis
- 43:43Speaker 2: camera milder, Great to see you, Thank you now still
- 43:45Speaker 2: to come on the show. More on our revelations that
- 43:48Speaker 2: Greta Thunberg's flotilla was organized by HESBLA supporters, Plus Trump's
- 43:53Speaker 2: comments about Israel. Elon Levy, would you own me next?
- 44:00Speaker 2: Welcome back with the United States President has spoken about
- 44:03Speaker 2: the international campaign against Israel. He said that they're going
- 44:07Speaker 2: to have to get that war over with. It is
- 44:10Speaker 2: hurting Israel, There's no question about it. They may be
- 44:13Speaker 2: winning the war, but they're not winning the world of
- 44:15Speaker 2: public relations. And joining me now is from Israeli government
- 44:19Speaker 2: spokesman Elon Levy, Elon, great to see you again. Will
- 44:22Speaker 2: come in a way. In a way, these comments are obvious.
- 44:26Speaker 2: We always complain that, you know, the pr the propaganda
- 44:29Speaker 2: is stacked against Israel. But is he right that there
- 44:33Speaker 2: is now this pressure even from the US to finish
- 44:37Speaker 2: the war.
- 44:39Speaker 5: I think Rosident Trump is absolutely right that Israel is
- 44:41Speaker 5: on the receiving end of a vicious propaganda campaign that
- 44:45Speaker 5: is intended to end the war that Hamas started with
- 44:49Speaker 5: Hammas still in power in Gaza, preparing for the next
- 44:52Speaker 5: October seventh massacre and still holding hostages. We know that
- 44:56Speaker 5: has been Hamas's goal since it's started the war that
- 45:00Speaker 5: dreadful day, and it's why we're seeing every day non
- 45:03Speaker 5: stop fake accusations against Israel, redefining terms when Israel is
- 45:09Speaker 5: fighting a just war justly to bring back the hostages,
- 45:13Speaker 5: to make sure that Hamas can never take hostages ever again,
- 45:16Speaker 5: and to put the Middle East on a better footing
- 45:19Speaker 5: towards peace. But for that to happen, Hamas has to go.
- 45:23Speaker 2: There does seem to be debate about the best way
- 45:27Speaker 2: to end the war and how long this is going
- 45:29Speaker 2: to take. Reports about you know, Trump's post war Gaza plan,
- 45:33Speaker 2: which could see Gaza under US control for the next decade.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Have you heard any other details about this or what
- 45:42Speaker 2: the Israeli side is thinking.
- 45:45Speaker 5: There are many plans doing around for the day after
- 45:48Speaker 5: the war, but we have to understand the day after
- 45:50Speaker 5: the war means the day after Hamas. None of the
- 45:53Speaker 5: reconstruction plans are feasible at all if Hamas is still
- 45:58Speaker 5: in power, because as long as Hamas is still armed
- 46:02Speaker 5: and dangerous in Gaza. The reconstruction of Gaza means the
- 46:06Speaker 5: reconstruction of Hamask and any concrete that goes in to
- 46:10Speaker 5: build people's houses will go into the network of military
- 46:14Speaker 5: tunnels underneath people's houses. And it means whoever wants to
- 46:18Speaker 5: speed up the day after and rebuild Gaza peacefully has
- 46:23Speaker 5: to work with Israel in removing the Hamas regime as
- 46:26Speaker 5: quickly as possible and making sure that it releases all
- 46:30Speaker 5: of the hostages or else. Rebuilding Gaza just means rebuilding
- 46:34Speaker 5: it as a launch pad for another war against Israel,
- 46:38Speaker 5: and we don't want that.
- 46:39Speaker 2: We've seen a lot of mainstream media attention on gretathin
- 46:43Speaker 2: Berg and heerfuey Tila. Well you wouldn't have seen it,
- 46:46Speaker 2: elin Bit. At the start of the show tonight, I
- 46:48Speaker 2: exposed how one of the key organizers and others are
- 46:52Speaker 2: actually supporters of Hezbala and attended Hassan Nasrala's funeral. Does
- 46:57Speaker 2: this surprise.
- 46:58Speaker 1: You, Shari?
- 47:01Speaker 5: Of course I watched it. I watched your show. No,
- 47:02Speaker 5: it doesn't surprise me that supporters of Hamas and Hezbola
- 47:06Speaker 5: are trying to score propaganda victories for it around the world.
- 47:09Speaker 5: That's what they've been trying to do since the very beginning.
- 47:12Speaker 5: The organization that is trying to get Israeli soldiers arrested
- 47:15Speaker 5: around the world on trumped up charges of war crimes.
- 47:18Speaker 5: Also another supporter of Hezbola that has been documented. This
- 47:22Speaker 5: flotilla isn't trying to get humanitarian aid into Gaza, right
- 47:25Speaker 5: what are they carrying? A few sacks of flower and tampons.
- 47:28Speaker 5: If they want aid to get into Gaza, it can
- 47:31Speaker 5: go through the hundreds of trucks that are entering Gaza
- 47:34Speaker 5: every day, or air drops as part of the international
- 47:37Speaker 5: coalition that Israel is spearheading to air drop aid into Gaza. Instead,
- 47:41Speaker 5: it's a publicity stunt, a stunt that is meant to
- 47:44Speaker 5: give the false impression that Israel isn't letting aid into Gaza.
- 47:49Speaker 5: And what we're seeing now is the biggest operation in
- 47:52Speaker 5: military history to get aid into enemy territory. I mean,
- 47:56Speaker 5: just today Israel announced it's opening a new electricity line
- 48:00Speaker 5: salination plant in Gaza. Can you think of another example
- 48:03Speaker 5: where the side that was attacked in a war is
- 48:05Speaker 5: supplying electricity into enemy hell territory? I can't but unfortunately,
- 48:11Speaker 5: the anti Israel side will stop at nothing to try
- 48:14Speaker 5: to manipulate the emotions of people in the West to
- 48:18Speaker 5: get them to pressure Israel to end this war with
- 48:21Speaker 5: Hammas still in power and the hostages still trapped in Gaza,
- 48:25Speaker 5: and that will not happen. This war will only end
- 48:27Speaker 5: when Hamas is out of power and the hostages are
- 48:30Speaker 5: out of Gaza.
- 48:32Speaker 2: I've already got thirty seconds, but does that mean you
- 48:34Speaker 2: do support the current military campaign in Gaza City.
- 48:40Speaker 5: There is a very painful debate in Israel now about
- 48:43Speaker 5: whether we should pay a ransom to get half of
- 48:46Speaker 5: the hostages out and then try to negotiate the release
- 48:49Speaker 5: of the rest of them, or whether Israel should press
- 48:51Speaker 5: its military advantage to get how master release all of
- 48:55Speaker 5: them and relinquish power. I think there's fear in Israel.
- 48:58Speaker 2: That if we yeah, we're out of time, Elon, But
- 49:01Speaker 2: it was a fairce debate and no easy answers there
- 49:03Speaker 2: at all. Thank you for joining us, Elon, and thanks
- 49:06Speaker 2: everyone for your company tonight. I'll see you tomorrow at eight.
- 49:08Speaker 2: And here's Paul Murray
