- 0:08SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Rider, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: So you've done it again.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: You promised yourself you wouldn't do it.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: You swore up and down that last time would be the last time.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Yet here you are, feeling guilty because you've given in to temptation once again.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: Well, what are we talking about?
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Are we talking about some forbidden sin, some horrible act that is slowly destroying your life or your family?
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: No, we're talking about downloading yet another free PDF that'll just languish on your hard drive.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: It's one more resource you won't read, but you'll still feel guilty because you know it'll probably help your writing or your business.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: So don't feel bad.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: We've all done it.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: In today's information age, it's almost impossible not to be overwhelmed with email lists, free PDFs, podcasts, books, courses, and so much more.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: So how do you deal with this flood of information?
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: Well, here's the key.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: The next time you read or listen to something that's helpful, determine whether it's something that you need to do.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: If so, take action on it immediately.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: This one simple concept can work wonders for your confidence and your success.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: When you do something that you know you must do, you develop the habit of breaking down barriers.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: You also build your anti-procrastination muscle, which is extremely useful for writers of every kind.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: So don't get overwhelmed by all the information out there.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: In fact, you should delete or unsubscribe to things that are not helping you on your journey right now.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: Too much information can paralyze and confuse you.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: You can always download that thing again, or you can find a similar resource on the internet whenever you need it.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: But the best course of action is clearing your mental clutter and taking the next logical step in your writing journey.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: After all, the most successful writers are not the ones with the most talent.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: They're the ones who keep their life simple and take action every day toward their goals.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Thanks so much for listening to today's episode.
