Transcript
- 0:31None. What's up, everybody?
- 0:47Late night, Kifi. I'm feeling very fucking silly.
- 0:51So we're just, it's been a week, man.
- 0:54It's been a week. Let's just do the damn thing and
- 1:00yeah, we're here. We're here to rock.
- 1:02I appreciate TikTok wants to do whatever the fuck it wants to do
- 1:08tonight. Doesn't want to cooperate.
- 1:10It's all good, you know, we'll get it together soon, but I'm
- 1:16masking up. There's a reason for the game.
- 1:18You'll see why in a minute. Thanks for being here.
- 1:20We appreciate everybody. Grimm is here.
- 1:23Kenneth is here. What's up again, Kenneth?
- 1:25Dead horse theory. Kenneth, I appreciate you being
- 1:29here. Thanks, man.
- 1:30It is wild and wacky. It has been a time.
- 1:34It has been in a very, very exasperating week.
- 1:36It's been a bit of an exasperating day.
- 1:38I was supposed to go live earlier today and the gear would
- 1:43not gear, it would not cooperate.
- 1:46So you know, we had to just make it work the best we can and
- 1:53that's all we can. But I'm here now.
- 1:55I'm trying to get a TikTok to to get on.
- 1:58Let's see if it works now, but thanks, I'm all right.
- 2:02Should be starting in a second. Thanks for being here.
- 2:04This is our weekly Rocket Metal news show.
- 2:06If you've never been here before and this is your first time,
- 2:09give us a like and a sub and a follow.
- 2:11We just hit a big milestone on the tube of you and we have been
- 2:17tried and trying hard to try to be a little more consistent
- 2:20about when I go live, but not today.
- 2:23Did not happen for us. So I appreciate you all being
- 2:25here. It's Friday everywhere in the
- 2:28world. So thanks for being here.
- 2:30We appreciate you. This is your show, too.
- 2:33I'm fine with saying that at the top of my interviews.
- 2:35This is your interview. This is your show.
- 2:38Let us know what the what you know and what you want to talk
- 2:43about. But I have a whole thing to talk
- 2:46about. All right, Let's do that.
- 2:49So, yeah. Anybody else get like, you know,
- 2:52the equivalent for the music business of like a spam caller,
- 2:56like a do not call list caller is, hey, are you open to
- 3:00collabing with us? And it's like we cover a wider
- 3:05array of music than most of our peers.
- 3:08But you know, like not everything you would have to
- 3:13know. You would have to know like what
- 3:17we do and don't cover. And it's like, it's very obvious
- 3:19if you don't look it on my site when you approach me, I know
- 3:23immediately. BL Street is here.
- 3:29Angelica Rain is here. Gunty is here.
- 3:34Thanks for being a waffle man. That sounds like fun waffle man.
- 3:38So, yeah, lots to talk about. Just a heavy week in the world.
- 3:41So I thought I would bring a little levity with me to the
- 3:45show. Let us bring in the deck.
- 3:48The best experience for this show is YouTube, Twitch,
- 3:52Facebook, Instagram, but we're also hanging out with you on the
- 3:56tick of the talk. I'll answer your questions.
- 3:58Dillinger is here very late at night for you.
- 4:00Dillinger, I'm very sorry for going late.
- 4:02I I attempted to go on live around 5 O clock, Pacific Time,
- 4:078:00 PM Eastern. The gear shit the bed and then I
- 4:10had kind of a, a music industry emergency, the equivalent of the
- 4:15music industry emergency. And so I had to handle that and
- 4:18then the time was gone for me to for me to go do the show.
- 4:23So I got a mask on. I'm, I'm trying to have some
- 4:25fun. It's been a very, very tough
- 4:28week. And as we all know, we're going
- 4:30to talk all about it. So let us dispense with the
- 4:34pleasantries and do what we always do.
- 4:36We start with the announcements. And here I'll just begin this
- 4:40for a minute. And when the gag is comes up,
- 4:42I'll the gag while I have the mask on.
- 4:44You'll know why I have the mask on and then I'll take the mask
- 4:47off. But for now, I'm going to see if
- 4:48I can hang on to it the entire time.
- 4:50We just hit 6000 subscribers on YouTube.
- 4:53That's the people like the Dillinger compound and other
- 4:55people. Our everydayers are real ones.
- 4:59We had 1.4 million views on YouTube.
- 5:02I know that seems like a paltry amount compared to influencers
- 5:05and kid fluencers and family fluencers or whatever the fuck.
- 5:10And yeah, I don't know, Ken Compton Box says I get hit up on
- 5:17SoundCloud by producers that want my money to re record my
- 5:21own music. Fucking jokers, bro.
- 5:23What a fucking what? A bunch of balloon heads.
- 5:26What a bunch of balloon heads. OK, again, once again, we are
- 5:32from ghostcultman.com. Go check us out on the web.
- 5:35We are. You're not sucky.
- 5:36Metal sucks. You're less mean.
- 5:38Lamb goats. That's what we are.
- 5:40That's what we do Dark Angel tour hits Toronto for the first
- 5:44time ever. Killer package.
- 5:45We talked about that tour last week.
- 5:47I think I took it out of the show this week.
- 5:49UP is here. Rap Yard is here.
- 5:51Andrew, Lillian. Hello.
- 5:53Hello. Hello.
- 5:56So yeah, I'm super pumped about that new Dark Angel album and
- 6:00music. I don't know what what people
- 6:01were like shitting on the new song.
- 6:03Thanks so much, Ken. I appreciate you.
- 6:05We've seen you here before on YouTube and feel free to DM me
- 6:09your music and we will check it out.
- 6:12So yeah, big milestones on YouTube.
- 6:14Obviously the number one news of the week is the death of Ozzy
- 6:17Osbourne. This is like unbelievably
- 6:20terrible. I saw a really funny tweet today
- 6:22that was like, check on your white friends because this is
- 6:24like when Tupac died for us. And I was like, yeah, Spooky
- 6:27Gene is passing by. Spooky Gene is a real one.
- 6:30We appreciate you, Spooky. Thanks for being here.
- 6:32It's been a long time. So obviously we're going to talk
- 6:34a lot about Ozzy this week and we've done a bunch of Ozzy theme
- 6:39material posts, several live streams just about Ozzie, one
- 6:45with just me as a stand alone podcast and one with my other
- 6:48podcast, the Glacial Musical podcast.
- 6:51I went to dinner tonight when I couldn't do the show on time and
- 6:54I had dinner with friends from New York and we talked mostly
- 6:58about Ozzie. So it was really hard, not going
- 7:00to lie. But there were not.
- 7:02There were other deaths in the music world this week as well as
- 7:05the entertainment world. Malcolm Jamal Warner, the
- 7:08beloved Theo Huxtable from television, died at 54, right
- 7:12around my age. Drowned in an accident on
- 7:15vacation swimming with his young daughter.
- 7:18Just horrible. Just horribly horrible.
- 7:23Guy was wonderful, good actor, was a very.
- 7:26People don't realize what a acclaimed television director he
- 7:29had become. You might have remembered him
- 7:32for a minor role in the last few seasons of Sons of Anarchy as a
- 7:37grim bastard, as the number 2 grim bastard to TO if you
- 7:40remember. I'm just just a big fan of this
- 7:43guy. He had a lot of love and and
- 7:45light in his heart. Dude, you know it's pretty
- 7:49funny. The week before Slayer announced
- 7:53their reunion, I found a meme of a stitch.
- 7:56A needlepoint stitch, right? That said, Slayer rules and I
- 8:01wrote just an what I thought was innocuous post onto it on
- 8:05Instagram. That said, doesn't it seem like
- 8:08the world went to shit after Slayer retired?
- 8:13And really, that shit blew up? It was a huge viral post for us.
- 8:17I'm not sure why honestly. And I wish I knew who made the
- 8:21original because I credit them. And then a week later, Slayer's
- 8:25publicist called me on the phone.
- 8:28And this is extremely out of the ordinary latest publicist, by
- 8:31the way, of Reps Anthrax and the Pixies and a bunch of other
- 8:35huge, huge bands. And we have a good rapport.
- 8:39One of my very first, like hugest things ever in my career
- 8:42was going to cover Anthrax Day at the Big Four in Yankee
- 8:47Stadium in New York City. And I was what, like the only
- 8:49metal press there that just, I was the only one that asked.
- 8:52No one else asked. I asked.
- 8:54I knew I had advance notice that anthrax was going to get the key
- 8:57to the city of the Bronx with their two Bronx born members,
- 9:01Charlie Benante and Frank Bellow, uncle and nephew from
- 9:06the E Tremont section of the Bronx, right across town from
- 9:09where I'm from. And the other side, the wrong
- 9:12side of the tracks where I'm from.
- 9:13And so that publicist, Heidi Fitzgerald Robinson has always
- 9:19looked out, always looked out. And so she called me.
- 9:28She's like, hey, did you make this meme?
- 9:30I was like, well, I found the meme.
- 9:32I didn't necessarily, you know, I didn't necessarily make it,
- 9:38but I found it and I posted it. Did you write this?
- 9:40I was like, yeah, that's me. I wrote that.
- 9:42I do most of quite a bit of the social media of goes Colts
- 9:45partially and say some of our success is due to our integrity
- 9:48and some of it is due to me and social media.
- 9:50But she's like, OK, cool, there's some news coming about
- 9:55Slayer soon and stay tuned. I was like, OK, cool.
- 9:59And literally the first line of these Slate e-mail subjects,
- 10:03Slayer reunites for brief festivals in 2024.
- 10:08And the first line of the e-mail says, isn't it weird how the
- 10:13whole world went to shit after Slayer retired?
- 10:16Ghost cult, Ghost cult magazine. I was like, Oh my God, this is
- 10:19insane. We've had some viral moments,
- 10:21infamously Maynard with the snap, the Thanos snap or he
- 10:25snapped Taylor Swift away. That was us.
- 10:28We we blew up with that. But yeah, Bowie, man, 2016, a
- 10:33terrible fucking year. Bowie, Lemmy, George Michael and
- 10:37Prince. I mean, Bowie was right after
- 10:39that. But like all in a row, just how
- 10:41fucking terrible 6 at media is here what I put up.
- 10:45So yeah, Malcolm Jamal Warner, right in the childhood.
- 10:48Chuck Mangione died the same day as Ozzy.
- 10:52Chuck was 82. You may not know who he is, and
- 10:57he's certainly not a rock or metal person, but Chuck Mangione
- 11:00is one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time.
- 11:03He's best known for playing the flugelhorn, which is like a very
- 11:06unique mutant version of a coronet mixed with a trumpet,
- 11:11basically a variant of the trumpet with a big bell.
- 11:14And it's got a very, almost like a, it's called contralto.
- 11:18It's a range of female singers. So it's very expressive.
- 11:21And he was brilliant. Him and his brother had a jazz
- 11:23band. He originally got his start in
- 11:26Art Blakey's band in the 60s, Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers,
- 11:30which was like the fucking Hall of Fame for trumpeters.
- 11:33Clifford Brown, who is my favorite jazz musician maybe
- 11:36ever, and a bunch of others. Just incredible.
- 11:40And he had a very long career. And you know his music, even if
- 11:43you don't know the man, he's incredible.
- 11:48This one also, this popped up while we were live streaming the
- 11:51other day. George, I'm probably going to
- 11:54say this wrong. George Kumiens, who was the
- 11:56original guitar player here of Golden Earring.
- 12:01You know the K Channels rock songs in the 70s.
- 12:05We've got this thing and it's called Radar Love.
- 12:09That's Golden Earring. They also had Twilight Zone and
- 12:11a bunch of other songs. George died.
- 12:13He was 77. Yep.
- 12:15Golden Earring. Got it.
- 12:16Radar love, Radar love. Good song.
- 12:18It's on the Wayne's World soundtrack.
- 12:21I mean, I, I feel like this Aussie death is going to be an
- 12:24absolute avalanche of deaths of, of people over 75 just to go see
- 12:30your bands. If you love them, go see your
- 12:32artists now. How corny or whatever it is that
- 12:34you love. If you love a band or an artist,
- 12:36go see them because they're going to start dropping like
- 12:38flies. I was really afraid of this and
- 12:41then this one kind of shocked the shit out of me.
- 12:45Peter Jackson. Not that Peter Jackson, but
- 12:47Peter Jackson, the drummer for Kill Whitney Dead, died just
- 12:53suddenly. Kill Whitney Dead was like an
- 12:55original metal core band. Broke up, reunited in 2017 and
- 13:00more or less has stayed together since then, which really fucking
- 13:04sucks. Young guy.
- 13:07I don't know what happened, but very sad.
- 13:10That's him in the back there in the back row.
- 13:14And obviously some anniversaries of deaths.
- 13:16Obviously, Chester Bennington's death was, you know, last
- 13:19weekend. The anniversary of his death
- 13:20just seems like a very Dark World without him in it.
- 13:23However you feel about Linkin Park coming back.
- 13:26And then of course, Chester's death is forever tied to his
- 13:29best friend Chris Cornell's death.
- 13:32Again, I say this all the time. I may be goofy, I may do silly
- 13:35shit on the Internet, but if you are struggling or suffering in
- 13:38any way, our DMS are open. You are not alone.
- 13:41It gets better to not give up. I'll say again, I saw the Harley
- 13:46Cromag documentary recently and then Harley gave a speech at the
- 13:50end that he was like, he was friends with Anthony Bourdain,
- 13:52who took his own life. And he was like, hey, he, you
- 13:55know, maybe took his own life. But what he really died from was
- 13:58a broken heart because he didn't think it was going to get any
- 14:00better. And it does get better.
- 14:01And he wishes he had called them, you know, and I agree.
- 14:04I wish he had called them. Internet is being weird.
- 14:09Oh, there it is. That's why all right.
- 14:12Should be better now on on TikTok here, everybody.
- 14:18And then Justin Lowe, who was a guitar player for After the
- 14:26Burial, also passed away on This Week 7-8 years ago.
- 14:31So just very sad. What a killer guitar player and
- 14:36a great artist, really an incredible progressive metal
- 14:39artist. Very sad to lose him.
- 14:42And Jonathan Schnepp, don't know if you remember him, Comic books
- 14:46writer, music video director, worked on Metalocalypse, used to
- 14:52have a YouTube channel where he did reviews of of geek stuff.
- 14:55And he died suddenly on this weekend five years ago.
- 15:00Very sad. We were big fans.
- 15:04And then I know Hulk Hogan died and I got to go here with Iron
- 15:08Sheik. Fuck Hulk Hogan, then fuck Hulk,
- 15:10and now fuck Hulk Hogan forever. I don't have to tell you why
- 15:14he's sketchy and shitty, but you know it sucks when your heroes
- 15:18let you down. They do say never meet your
- 15:19heroes. Most of the people I've ever
- 15:21met, including Ozzy, was super nice.
- 15:24Super fucking nice. But you know Hulk Hogan's a
- 15:26douche forever. Anyway, couple of on a more
- 15:32positive note, I'm about to talk about Dusty in a few minutes.
- 15:36A lot of shit is going on with Dusty.
- 15:37What a fucking knucklehead. Celebrating.
- 15:40A lot of people had birthdays this week, but just a couple to
- 15:43mention. Martin Gore of Depeche Mode had
- 15:46a birthday this week, as well as Byron Davis today of God Forbid,
- 15:49as we record this overnight on Friday, late night.
- 15:53Byron in particular is an incredible guy.
- 15:55I've got to meet him and hang out with him.
- 15:59A little bit of just a reminder, Nate Garrett from Spirit of
- 16:06Drift has canceled all the touring plans for now and
- 16:09postponed recording and his wife has stomach cancer and there's a
- 16:13GoFundMe on to raise money for her treatment.
- 16:16They have a little kid obviously hearing this picture.
- 16:18Just very sad assuming she's going to be OK, but she's a
- 16:23little rough road ahead of her. We're just trying to raise
- 16:25awareness for that GoFundMe. Also this week in music history
- 16:29was the anniversary of the No Life to Leather demo, not
- 16:34featuring Dave Mustaine, but featuring Ron Mcgoverny on bass
- 16:38and multiple guitar solos from Lloyd Grant.
- 16:42No Life to Leather does have Mustaine's got some of his songs
- 16:45on here that they continue to play.
- 16:47Pretty fun that they had like a stamp with their logo on it for
- 16:50this primitive cassette tape kind of fun.
- 16:53But yeah, Metallica, No Life to Leather, no, no thrash metal
- 16:57without Metallica and Exodus and a bunch of other bands.
- 17:00So I don't know why I said that about Mustaine.
- 17:05The beef is back with Mustaine and Megadeth and Ant and
- 17:09Metallica over Metallica wanted to put out No Life to Leather as
- 17:13a record store. They release.
- 17:14I don't know why it's going to sound terrible, but Mustaine
- 17:18wouldn't sign off on it when they he found out he wasn't
- 17:20going to get any money, which is crazy.
- 17:25Other albums celebrating an anniversary today.
- 17:27Lamb of God's comeback album Sturm and Drunk Lamb of God 7
- 17:32came out this week 7-8 years ago.
- 17:37Anthrax is volume 8. The Threat is Real came out this
- 17:41week in 1998. A very underrated Bush album.
- 17:44Did not get hurt a lot. Dead Horse Theory says that he
- 17:49got married when you heard about Ozzy right after.
- 17:52Oh well, Congrats on your wedding.
- 17:53Don't let that spoil it. I know Corey Taylor always talks
- 17:56about Dimebag getting murdered on his birthday and how
- 18:00devastating it was for him because he loved Pantera.
- 18:03So dead horse theory. Congrats on the wedding and
- 18:06people do pass away. My mom died almost on my
- 18:09birthday which has been like a mind fuck for the rest of my
- 18:12life. But like, I know that she would
- 18:15have been mad at me for not celebrating my own birthday.
- 18:18She would have been pissed. Other albums celebrating
- 18:22anniversaries. Here's a Symphony X album.
- 18:24Symphony X. The only band I ever fell asleep
- 18:26watching but this is a good record.
- 18:31Pantera Cowboys from Hell came out 35 years ago yesterday.
- 18:37Holy fuck balls. And the Acacia stream five years
- 18:42to the day they released a new video last week.
- 18:45We talked about on the show, the KC stream Slow Decay came out
- 18:50was one of the smartest actual roll outs of a of a music I've
- 18:54ever seen. And I'm very excited about their
- 18:57new stuff coming up. So and then just a personal
- 19:00thing. If you followed Ghost Cult for a
- 19:01very long time, you know that we put on two or three charity
- 19:07festivals to support. It's going to be some garbage
- 19:13truck bullshit. Now because I'm doing this late
- 19:16at night, there's been we put on 2 charity shows to raise money
- 19:19for Nepal when they had earthquakes in 2015 is one of
- 19:22the very first things we ever sponsored or a part of.
- 19:25So Metal from Nepal was a featured A tribute to Megadeth
- 19:31with an incredible array of metal musicians, Caricature,
- 19:34Sonic Pulse, Epicenter, Thrash Hole and more.
- 19:39That was at once in Somerville, Mass when I lived in Boston.
- 19:43Good times. A lot of our friends and fans
- 19:45came out, it was great. Just a reminder if you feel like
- 19:50giving us a tip, we accept tips. I'll answer your questions
- 19:53always for free. You can support us for 3 bucks
- 19:58for some general support bias of coffee and coffee for $6.
- 20:03I also do music business consulting calls.
- 20:05Is hard to take a guy seriously with his mask on, but I.
- 20:08I've worked in the music business for 20 years.
- 20:10I had a band for 20 years. I'm back in a band again for the
- 20:14first time in a long time. But this mask is starting to
- 20:16bother me. And if you want to drop us a
- 20:18tip, we accept tips and you can pay us on cash app PayPal.
- 20:26That goes cult mag basically everywhere.
- 20:28And that goes cult mag on almost all the socials as well.
- 20:32And you know, this is not we're not corporate sponsored Will by
- 20:36design is here. Lucky Magic is here, PK is here.
- 20:43Is everybody watching over on the over on the old TikTok and
- 20:49everybody else? Thanks for being here.
- 20:53Somebody's here on on Twitch. Feel free to sub to us and we
- 20:56will follow you back. So yeah, there's our menu,
- 20:58there's our cash app in case you want to check it out.
- 21:01And now it's time for some features.
- 21:02I'll put myself back on the screen for this one.
- 21:04Here we go, Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 21:07Hey, hey, it's me. I'm still here with the mask on.
- 21:09Why? So features this week include,
- 21:14obviously Ozzy, right? Like just again, this is the
- 21:16number one story of the week. If you've got a favorite Ozzy
- 21:21memory or song or Black Sabbath's favorite memory or
- 21:24song, drop it. We spent a lot of time talking
- 21:26about him. We will continue to talk about
- 21:28him for a long time, I guess. It was revealed today that they
- 21:33paramedics came to his home in the UK and tried to revive him
- 21:36for two hours to no avail. They wanted to keep trying to
- 21:40save him, which is I guess thoughtful.
- 21:42But you know, everybody's wishes at the end of life wishes should
- 21:45be respected. Tomic Cataract is here again.
- 21:51Last week I did a live stream, but I'm trying to do a little
- 21:54more stand alone live streams every week.
- 21:55Just a one or two, if I can, on top of this show, on top of my
- 21:58other podcast we did and and lawsuits for all three major two
- 22:02major lawsuits going on right now and a third that's about to
- 22:06happen. So that's fun.
- 22:07Go check that out on the channel when you're done watching us
- 22:09here. Some other interesting stuff
- 22:14that happened today. 10X Tantrum is a brand new punk rock and
- 22:21alternative rock super group who premiered their debut single and
- 22:24video. They have some semi famous
- 22:25people in the band. They did a nice job sharing it
- 22:27around. You would not believe how many
- 22:30people don't share anything we do.
- 22:35Like even when we do an album review or an interview with
- 22:38them, they just don't share it. I don't know why.
- 22:40Genius Malingus, you have a cool fucking name.
- 22:43I wish that was my screen name. Genius Malingus, why don't I
- 22:46think of that? That's a good band name.
- 22:48Interviews this week by me include Alan Niven.
- 22:53If you don't know that name, you certainly know the bands he
- 22:55helped make internationally famous.
- 22:57Guns and Roses. He was primarily, primarily
- 23:00responsible for their entire whole first act up until Usual
- 23:05Illusion when he was fired by Axel.
- 23:07He launched Great White. He got Dock and signed.
- 23:10He has a million stories and he shared some of them with me.
- 23:12He's got a brand new book out called Sound and Fury that is
- 23:15probably one of the best books I've ever read by anybody that
- 23:19has ever worked in the music industry.
- 23:20That Freeman guy is here. Gregory Wicks is here.
- 23:23Very cool, very cool. So Alan Niven, if you love 80's
- 23:27rock and metal, you need this book in your life.
- 23:31And I was a real honor. And Alan was a quite a gentleman
- 23:34and, and I was really surprised I had this sort of an idea of
- 23:38him, but I didn't know him. And I got to really know him, A,
- 23:41through this book and B, through this conversation.
- 23:44And he said he would hang out with me again and do another
- 23:46one. So that's kind of fun.
- 23:48That's fine. Here's the payment details if
- 23:52you need them. I always forget to put that up.
- 23:55Also, I interviewed Gus Rios, you know, Gus's work from Death
- 23:59to All Left to Die and Gruesome, but also the debut of Cold
- 24:04Slither right in the childhood and the childhood gets taken
- 24:07away with the deaths of Ozzy and Michael Jamal Warner and other
- 24:10things. And then then right back to the
- 24:12childhood. Cold Slither is the band from
- 24:15the GI Joe comics in the 80s. This is unbelievable.
- 24:22So like, oh man, there's a story, Kenneth, about how Dawkin
- 24:26got to be the engineer on Great White.
- 24:28I'll talk. That's in the book.
- 24:29Also Alan Niven, Sound and Fury. Check it out.
- 24:33So I interviewed Gus. They put together this band of
- 24:37just metal legends, Doctor Ross Sewage and Matt Harvey from
- 24:43Exhumed. Gus who sings and plays guitar
- 24:46as well as being in world class drummer and he's all over the
- 24:49new Gruesome record, which is amazing.
- 24:50We have an interview coming up with Matt Harvey to talk about
- 24:52that and Andy from KMFD. So they basically made the the
- 24:57Cobra band, Zartan and the Dreadnoks band from the GI Joe
- 25:02cartoons and comic books and did it for real.
- 25:05And they had permission from Hasbro and they had samples from
- 25:08the movie and the and the comic books and just unbelievably well
- 25:12done. And I had this incredibly fun
- 25:14interview with Gus about this and they are we have some more
- 25:18cults litter news, but we have Comic Con this weekend in San
- 25:20Diego. So wild.
- 25:23I do on air reviews. Richmond just dropped your debut
- 25:26album. More like cool cool cool.
- 25:28DM me all the info if you've got like a band camp or something or
- 25:32Spotify link if you prefer. Let me know and I'll check it
- 25:36out. We do some on air reviews.
- 25:38I usually I do have a thing where we will charge to check
- 25:42out your music, but dead Horse Theory, you've been kind of a
- 25:44real a regular one. You've popped up in our feeds
- 25:46before, so why don't you just DM me and I'll check your stuff out
- 25:49and see if I can do something with it if time permits.
- 25:52It's time is always the enemy. I never have enough.
- 25:55My girlfriend is trying to get me to be a better yes, I
- 25:57actually have a girlfriend. I have an amazing girlfriend
- 25:59actually. She rules and I need to do
- 26:02better at time management. She's trying to work on that
- 26:04with me also. Also, if you've been following
- 26:08Ghost Cult and you're already subscribed, we did a collab
- 26:11podcast with my other podcast, the Glacially musical podcast,
- 26:15Beer, Metal and Swearing. This week.
- 26:16It was just all Ozzie tributes and all Ozzie love.
- 26:20And we canceled the end of our current series, which was
- 26:23Beastie Boys. And we are going to start a new
- 26:24series on Ozzie solo work, probably through through the
- 26:28early 90s at least, and that's coming up soon.
- 26:31You know what? Thank you, Dead Horse Theory,
- 26:33because again, having a music website like we do is just like
- 26:37when I had a band trying to make it, trying to get awareness,
- 26:40trying to get people to discover it.
- 26:42Now, luckily I became an expert on the music business and
- 26:44marketing, and it took me a long time to do that.
- 26:47And maybe my next go round I'll get it right.
- 26:50But you know, I had a regionally successful band, several of them
- 26:54in the 90s and the 2000s. But yeah, Glacial Musical
- 26:58podcast, check that out. And then just just hilarity.
- 27:03Mark myself safe from being cheated on at a Coldplay
- 27:07concert. But this is one of my favorite
- 27:09ones. Morrissey, who can fucking choke
- 27:12on a band of hot dogs, and Robert Smith, who I love.
- 27:15So this is fun. All right, that's all the
- 27:19minutiae. Thanks for tolerating that intro
- 27:21and all this stuff and being here again, I thank you.
- 27:25And yeah, let's do the news rundown and what we always do
- 27:31when we start the news is metal festival.
- 27:33So let me in begin this one more time and I'll be back when the
- 27:38when the gag hits in concert. So we are we announced last week
- 27:41we're covering Bloodstock open air again.
- 27:43Very excited. 13 years ago is called 13 Bloodstock open airs
- 27:47trivia machine head Gojira Saturday and Sunday are already
- 27:50sold out. Friday will be sold out, Emperor
- 27:53Ministry, Mastodon, Lord of the laws, Fear Factory, plane de
- 27:56manufacture, Kublikan, Lacuna Coil, Orange goblin, and one of
- 27:59their last UK shows ever, Black Dahlia, Murder, Fair response,
- 28:03Creeper, August Burns, Red flotsam and jetsam who I fucking
- 28:06love. I was just listening to them
- 28:08before the Aussie news hit. Cataclysm, Nail Bomb, Static X,
- 28:12Obituary, 3 Inches of Blood, and many more coverage will be
- 28:15coming in middle show festivals in mid August.
- 28:19We'll probably get the coverage up by the end of the month.
- 28:22Also this weekend it's fire in the mountains in a the Grand
- 28:27Tetons in Wyoming on a Native American reservation.
- 28:31Wardruna's headlining the entire thing and they helped book many
- 28:34of the acts old man's child debut show in America.
- 28:37Chelsea Wolf, Hex vessel, converge the keening who I've
- 28:43interviewed Steve until solo from neurosis into Arma, Lindy
- 28:47Hay fella, Emma, Ruth Rundle just in, you know, an incredible
- 28:54lineup. You know, I would love to get
- 28:57out to this sometime. I do understand that the
- 29:00mountain areas are very hot in the summer.
- 29:02I'm in San Francisco where it was like 66 today and cloudy,
- 29:05which is what I want, even though I like a little sunshine.
- 29:08So I know for my grim darkness, I need a little sun.
- 29:13So we might have some coverage of Fire in the Mountains coming
- 29:15too soon. Shakey Knees best just confirmed
- 29:18us for that. Also in September in Atlanta,
- 29:22Deftones, My Chemical Romance, Blink 182, Lenny Kravitz,
- 29:26Sublime just dropped the new song, Cage the Elephant, The
- 29:29Black Keys, Vampire Weekend, Alabama Shakes, Public Enemy and
- 29:33many, many more. Pixies idols we just covered in
- 29:37grease. Very good stuff here for non
- 29:39blondes, no thank you. But OK, Devo, who I do love,
- 29:42they should be almost headlining this thing.
- 29:45Deftones announced their Dia de Los Deftones festival.
- 29:48Deaf Heaven is on there. Always very eclectic.
- 29:51I know clips is the #2 band on there.
- 29:53I guess they were really excited about clips coming back.
- 29:56Thanks so much. Dead horse theory, I'll check
- 29:58that out. And Moff Pit madness and Sean
- 30:00House is here also. What up, what up, what up?
- 30:02Good to see you. Good to see you.
- 30:05So dealers. Those Deftones is always in
- 30:07early November in San Diego, beautiful San Diego, which means
- 30:13a whale's vagina. You know, we continue to get
- 30:17this Aussie news and this Back to the Beginning stuff.
- 30:20We know 100% now that next year there will be a Back to the
- 30:23Beginning concert event where you can go to the movies and
- 30:26watch it. I do believe there will be some
- 30:29kind of physical release at some point, like a DVD on demand, as
- 30:33well as maybe an album. Obviously Black Sabbath owns the
- 30:36rights to all the Black Sabbath songs so that would make me
- 30:39obvious. You could also turn it in for
- 30:42charity, which would be cool if all the bands permitted their
- 30:45covers to be used. I'm still shocked that Tool let
- 30:48themselves be shown on the live stream.
- 30:50That should still mind blowing to me because they've been so
- 30:52guarded and protected with their stuff.
- 30:55Also also release Fest Athens continues.
- 31:01We just ran some more coverage and we have some more to come
- 31:05still, so pretty excited about that.
- 31:10This just got announced, Fields and Forest Forever Music Fest.
- 31:14This is a brewery and it's the Whiskey Treaty Roadshow.
- 31:22This just looks cool. I like beer and I like music
- 31:25together, whether it's metal or not.
- 31:30Also, we mentioned last week Seemafest got announced.
- 31:32This is the annual heavy Machinery convention in Vegas
- 31:36and they're going to have bands now.
- 31:37Last year they had a crossover with Metallica and now they're
- 31:41going to have Queens of the Stone Age, Black Crows, and Neon
- 31:43Trees perform at this thing. That's kind of cool.
- 31:46I don't know that I want to go bad enough to this convention to
- 31:48see those bands, but would be cool once again coming up in
- 31:52just another week or two. Summer gloom in Somerville, MA.
- 31:58Sumac body void, the keening mourn.
- 32:00Shepang. Moths are homies and moths.
- 32:03Cowardice. Slow quit Voodoo's sister Guts
- 32:06who we love and have interviewed recently may never Monolithic
- 32:09Dome tears from a grieving heart chain lacing and more and
- 32:16finally in just you know the more things you know the more
- 32:21you know. Dropkick Murphy's announced
- 32:23today that their recent appearance at Punk in the Park
- 32:26Denver is their very last. Punk in the Park because the Co
- 32:30founder of the fest donated money to Donald Trump's
- 32:33presidential campaign and he feels like they're very left
- 32:37wing Dropkick Murphys, which everybody knows and that maybe
- 32:40their values don't align. The festival did not make a
- 32:43donation. The guy who was the CEO of the
- 32:45festival did. So, you know, I think the longer
- 32:48I live and the older I get, I do realize that a lot of artists
- 32:51that I grew up thinking were radical people are not.
- 32:54And especially once they got wealth, probably surprise you
- 32:58how many of them are conservative or a vote
- 32:59conservative. You know, it's it's dicey If no
- 33:03one on live, you don't align with my political outlook.
- 33:06I can't support you musically. I get that.
- 33:08But Dropkick Murphys are like synonymous with punk in the
- 33:12park. Michael Isious is back.
- 33:13Hey, Michael Isious, thanks for being back and always popping
- 33:16into these live streams. I really appreciate you.
- 33:18Thank you, friend. All right, that was all the
- 33:21festivals concert time. And the big one this fall for us
- 33:25is Wardruda leg two of their world tour featuring Chelsea
- 33:29Wolf. We are collabing with them.
- 33:32There will be a contest for tickets soon.
- 33:35Stay tuned. I'm I'm announcing it now, but
- 33:37formally it'll be in a few weeks.
- 33:39We have another giveaway. We're going to be part of
- 33:41tomorrow with the Glacial Musical podcast.
- 33:45But yeah, we're during a, you know, we've been very fortunate
- 33:48to cover them the entire history of Ghost Cult.
- 33:50I've interviewed Aynar just at the beginning of the year for
- 33:53their new album Berno, which is out now at by Norris Music and
- 33:56Sony. And one of the most incredible
- 33:59artist I've ever seen. If you like high lung,
- 34:02Assassin's Creed Valhalla was done by Aynar from Wardroona.
- 34:05He made the music for the series Vikings.
- 34:08Other artists in this genre include a high lung Ivor
- 34:13Nitland, who just signed a new record deal.
- 34:15So like, I'm a big fan of all this music and I'm not like some
- 34:18Nimrod that's appropriating it from my own ideologies.
- 34:22I understand what they're trying to accomplish here.
- 34:24Why metalheads love this music. It's so visceral and why is it
- 34:28important to them so well? Junior tour, big big deal.
- 34:32There's going to be a lot of what German news and and stories
- 34:36coming soon from us. So I'm super excited as well as
- 34:38a review filter has announced they will not be able to join
- 34:42Jerry Cantrell for his final leg of his headline tour coming up
- 34:46soon. Richard Patrick has a had a
- 34:49procedure and a disc replacement surgery which sounds horrible
- 34:54and the recovery has been very slow so he can't tour yet.
- 34:58So very sad. No announcement yet for a
- 35:00replacement, but I'm sure Jerry will hopefully land somebody
- 35:04cool. Tom Morello and Friends has been
- 35:07announced for a brief run. This is on the back of that
- 35:10Black Sabbath festival where Tom was the musical director.
- 35:13Electric full band show. So obviously going to be
- 35:17anything from Tom's solo music to Rage Against the Machine,
- 35:20maybe Bruce Springsteen comers, I don't know.
- 35:22Maybe cover songs are rap, maybe profits are rage songs.
- 35:25It'd be kind of cool. Chicago, DC, Boston, Brooklyn,
- 35:28NY, AC and Nantucket. Matt, Shantucket, Connecticut.
- 35:32That's Foxwoods. So not a huge tour, but an
- 35:37interesting tour to say the least.
- 35:40US Air Guitar National Finals are taking place this week and I
- 35:45just had dinner with my homie Georgia Lunch who is competing.
- 35:48She won previously. The winner goes to Finland to
- 35:52compete in the World Finals. US Air Guitar shown on ESPN, The
- 35:57Ocho or whatever it is. ESPN News is taking place in The
- 36:00Independent, one of my favorite venues in San Francisco.
- 36:03Super cool and intimate and nice.
- 36:05I've seen Metallica there randomly I saw Billy Howard L
- 36:08there. Randy Bly recently was there
- 36:11doing a book signing. Some very cool shit air guitars,
- 36:15incredible TuneIn and watch it. They also stream live on twitch
- 36:18and TikTok. We've been talking about this
- 36:21show on our socials as well as the Wayne Apocalypse.
- 36:24This is for our friend Wayne Cornwell Junior, who died
- 36:27recently and his band Lies Beneath is doing a charity show.
- 36:30All the proceeds from the show will go to his family.
- 36:34This is going to take place at the Slipper Room on Wednesday,
- 36:36July 30th next week, also featuring I Kill You and Body
- 36:40and Blood and Cassandra Marie. So, you know, rest in power to
- 36:44Wayne and I hope they raise a lot of money for his family.
- 36:48My niece Nails continues to peel it back.
- 36:49Tour kicking off in Oakland in another week.
- 36:52Very, very highly anticipated. Those set lists were magical and
- 36:57we'll bring you more coverage of the tour soon.
- 37:00Pantera has been kicking off their tour last week with Amana
- 37:04Marth, King Parrot and other bands Snafu, Shock, Narcotic and
- 37:07more. They've been pulling out some
- 37:09old jams, some deep cuts, not just the hits.
- 37:12So I think that's very cool. We'll see what you know.
- 37:15Pantera doesn't really have anything else booked until next
- 37:18year when they go back out on tour Metallica, so we shall have
- 37:21to see what they plan to do next.
- 37:24Grill Fest. I just saw this.
- 37:25This got announced coming up next month in just about a month
- 37:29from now in Salt Lake City. Grill Fest takes place in Salt
- 37:34Lake City and features Judicator, Silver Talon, Advent
- 37:39Horizon, Celestial Wizard, Seizure, Stone Haven, and a
- 37:44bunch of other bands. So this is your power metal,
- 37:47sword and sorcery, wizard metal. I think it's pretty cool.
- 37:50I love Salt Lake City. If you've never been, you should
- 37:52go. Les is here.
- 37:54I Heart Army is here. Dirty Radio is here.
- 38:02All righty, Deftones tickets are on sale now for the UK and
- 38:06Europe. Not a lot of dates, but some big
- 38:09ups to Denzel Curry and Drumchurch for getting tapped
- 38:12for that tour. I think I'm going to get to take
- 38:14this mask off soon. I'm super excited.
- 38:16Ghoul has announced a huge tour. Very excited to get Ghoul back.
- 38:21The mutants from Uranus where they're from.
- 38:24Agnostic Front just signed to Raining Phoenix music and
- 38:28they're kicking off the East meets W Tour, Agnostic Front and
- 38:32Murphy's along with others. Pretty damn cool.
- 38:37I like to go catch that out. Ghoul is amazing man.
- 38:39I have many Ghoul vinyls and the Ghoul comic book which I highly
- 38:43recommend is incredible. Really reminds me of like a
- 38:47golden era foil stamping beautiful cover printed on
- 38:50beautiful paper just made with love.
- 38:53I love geek stuff as well as metal and rock machine headers
- 38:58kicked off their tour. They they kicked off the next
- 39:00leg of their tour literally minutes after the news broke
- 39:03that Ozzy died. And they they played a couple of
- 39:05Ozzy covers and Black Sabbath covers to start the show.
- 39:10Different support comes from flesh God, Apocalypse, Fear
- 39:13Factory, Neopolis Gara, the Halo effect.
- 39:15Excuse me. And El Nino.
- 39:17I just realized for the first time the Halo effect and
- 39:19Neopolis Garrus have the big O in the middle of their logo,
- 39:22kind of like, OK. Hey, Mark Anderson, welcome
- 39:25back. But yeah, Machine Head continues
- 39:29to support their new album On a Tone, which I thought was pretty
- 39:32great. Seven of Us has announced
- 39:34Acoustic Live, celebrating the 21st anniversary of Southside
- 39:38Double Wide Live Unplugged. They will get direct support
- 39:43from Corey Marx. I know Seven of Us has been
- 39:45talking about a break, not a break up, but a hiatus, a long
- 39:48break from touring. So this might be their way of
- 39:51kind of running out the string to the end of the year.
- 39:53They always do a big New Year's thing the last few years too.
- 39:59Autism Blitz Bria is here. Hello.
- 40:01Hello. So yeah, so that Seven Dust
- 40:03Unplugged going to be a good time.
- 40:04Not really hitting the major big, big cities outside of
- 40:08Nashville, Detroit, Boston, ish. No New York, several in
- 40:14Wisconsin and Iowa. Interesting.
- 40:15Saint Louis outside of Chicago, Houston, San Antonio, down to
- 40:21San Antonio once again. The Nocturnal Affairs kicked off
- 40:26their new European Tour, supporting both Wednesday 13 and
- 40:31occasionally Drowning Pool. We have an interview coming up
- 40:34with them soon. We'll try to get that out as
- 40:37soon as possible. Tsunami and Scowl 2 of your neo
- 40:42punk hardcore crossover bands have announced a huge Co
- 40:46headline tour with a bunch of killer opening bands.
- 40:50So very very cool. It's starting off in Mesa, AZ at
- 40:54the Nile. We've covered a lot of shows at
- 40:55the Nile on 10/16 and running all the way through mid
- 41:01November. So basically a 3030 days or so I
- 41:05can finally take this off. Why am I wearing this mask
- 41:07tonight? Because Gorgatron Gorgatron
- 41:11Gorgatron is kick has kicked off the Northern Destruction tour
- 41:19with our friends in casket robbery.
- 41:20Hey, Corey Westbrook is passed by.
- 41:22What up Corey? I hope you're doing well.
- 41:24So I am rocking this Gorgatron mask.
- 41:27Now that we've had the Gorgatron news in the show, I can take
- 41:31this off. Thank fuck, because I'm dying up
- 41:32here. Hold on one second.
- 41:37Oh fuck that feels great. A woman takes off her bra and a
- 41:44fat guy takes off his belt when he comes home.
- 41:46That mask had the same feeling for me.
- 41:49That's when I take my belt off at the end of a long painful
- 41:53day. I'll pick out my breath, brush
- 41:56out my beautiful beard. And we talked about our
- 41:59affiliate partner Fable Beard company in just a second.
- 42:02Maybe you are beard. I was like me and you want to
- 42:04invest in some beard products or a beard product for your
- 42:07favorite person. Fair response.
- 42:10It's got a huge European Tour coming up soon.
- 42:13Super excited about this. Blood Incantation continues to
- 42:17tour. We'll have a review of Blood
- 42:18Incantation on the site on Monday from Saint Louis.
- 42:22Incredible Braille, who was one of my favorite bands of the last
- 42:2710 years, just signed a new record deal and they are on tour
- 42:31in Europe right now. Canada Capitations U.S. tour has
- 42:36been announced. Tickets gold sailed today.
- 42:38Get them What a sick, absolutely just fucked up sick.
- 42:44Like almost like a little mini traveling death metal festival,
- 42:48like kind of summer slaughter vibes, Cattle Decapitation,
- 42:52Aborted fro Frozen Soul and a few others.
- 42:57Like that's fucking killer. So Killer Tower has announced a
- 43:02headline tour that'll be coming in the fall. 3 Inches of Blood
- 43:06is on tour right now in Europe. They're playing a lot of metal
- 43:08festivals. I have still yet to see them
- 43:11since they return. I missed The One Show they did
- 43:13here in San Francisco. Sad face.
- 43:16Kefi Wednesday 13 is back on tour all over Europe.
- 43:21We had an interview earlier in the year with Wednesday 3rd and
- 43:23where we talked about his favorite GI Joes because this
- 43:25whole room that he does interviews, his office is
- 43:28covered with GI Joe stuff and some monster stuff.
- 43:31He's great. Warfield's got some new tour
- 43:34dates coming up. This is really exciting.
- 43:36Narcotic Wasteland. We're huge fans, so it's Dallas.
- 43:40Taller Waiter used to be a Niall hole and for the first time ever
- 43:44he's always played like an occasional Niall song live.
- 43:47He's done a lot of teaching and lessons online and doing a lot
- 43:51of Rift breakdowns and videos, play through videos, and this is
- 43:54the first time ever he's actually going to do songs from
- 43:58the Nile record he was on live with his band.
- 44:03So this is the Annihilation of the Wasteland tour for the
- 44:07nationally Annihilation of the Wicked.
- 44:10I love Niall. Niall is one of my top three
- 44:12favorite death metal bands of all time.
- 44:15And honestly, I think Annihilation of the Wicked was
- 44:19their peak. It was the best lineup they had.
- 44:22Obviously. Look, bands have a hard time
- 44:23staying together. Dallas is sober now, which I
- 44:27appreciate. I think Carl is too, actually.
- 44:30And you know, I'm sure, you know, generally speaking, I'm
- 44:32sure it's, you know, amicable now, but probably wasn't back
- 44:35then. Skull Basher 666 is here.
- 44:39Fit Factory continues to tour across all of Europe, coming to
- 44:43the US soon with Cavallera. And now we know that that tour
- 44:47has a bunch of banging open prom and so many more.
- 44:54I'm so excited about that tour now and again.
- 44:56We just continue to promote this.
- 44:59Bronx Historical Society has the Uptown Rumble.
- 45:01Anybody that's a fan of bands from New York, hardcore, metal
- 45:05and classic rock go to this exhibition.
- 45:08We are eventually going to get up there and do some coverage.
- 45:10I would like to do some interviews with the guys.
- 45:12I think I will shoot an e-mail to my homie Geo, who is one of
- 45:16the curators. This is a big deal.
- 45:19This is a legitimate exhibition of famous people from my
- 45:22hometown, the Bronx, NY. Once again, repping it hard.
- 45:30So, yeah. What else?
- 45:32What else? What else?
- 45:33Cool. You mentioned them already so
- 45:37much. I love ghouls so much, I put
- 45:38them in the deck twice. Jayden is here.
- 45:41Pep is here. What up?
- 45:42What up? I just a reminder one more time.
- 45:45If you feel like tipping us. Cool.
- 45:46I appreciate it. I'm not going to hassle you for
- 45:49money. It's tough everywhere.
- 45:51Let's talk about some of our affiliate partners, Fable Beard
- 45:54Company. You see this?
- 45:55I had that mask on for the whole show, but look how great this
- 45:58beard is. That's his thanks to Fable
- 45:59Beard. My girlfriend turned me on to
- 46:00this as a present to me and now I'm addicted to this stuff.
- 46:03And now we have an affiliate deal with them.
- 46:05If you use our link in the description or in our link tree,
- 46:08you 2 can get 10% off your first order for them.
- 46:12And we get credits that we can use for more beard products,
- 46:15which rules. And I can't rave enough about
- 46:17this all nationally made stuff all their sense and their
- 46:22characters are based on like Dungeons and Dragons.
- 46:25So it's like the gin, the Bard, the wizard, the hunter, the
- 46:30barbarian. Like it's so cool.
- 46:32They have a new cent every month.
- 46:34They give a $500 box giveaway randomly to people.
- 46:38There's nothing to do to enter. You're just entered for being
- 46:41making a purchase. They're very aggressive with
- 46:45their marketing, which you know, you have to be ready for that.
- 46:48But let's see. So in addition to these
- 46:50deodorants that keep me smelling fresh, they're all natural.
- 46:53I have a lot of problems with sensitive skin and regular
- 46:55deodorants fuck me up. And for years I've been using
- 46:58like a plain old speed stick by men in which doesn't smell great
- 47:02but it like didn't irritate my underarms.
- 47:05This stuff is all natural and is smells great and doesn't hurt or
- 47:11you know, it's not like caked on and ruining all my black shirts.
- 47:14I also have the beard washes. This is a different scent.
- 47:17This is the marksman. Kind of looks like Arrow from
- 47:20the DC verse here. But this stuff's great.
- 47:23Wash it in your beard, let it set while you wash the rest of
- 47:25your body. Rinse it out.
- 47:27Great. And then somewhere here, I don't
- 47:31have it with me. It's in my messenger band.
- 47:33That's kind of like a little spritz.
- 47:34I don't really wear Cologne. The beard scent of the book.
- 47:39Yeah, man. Yeah.
- 47:40I'm going to do some video content or maybe clip this into
- 47:44a little remix so you guys can check it out, but the link will
- 47:48be in our description and again we'll check our recent videos
- 47:51that will have it. But again, I cannot.
- 47:53We don't even when we get paid, I tell everybody like the rare
- 47:57times that we get paid for stuff, if I don't love
- 47:59something, we don't wrap it. So we were wrapping high B and
- 48:03BI would definitely stay in one. We wrapped this.
- 48:05I use this stuff, you know, so that's kind of the deal and they
- 48:10come in unless it's in a box. It comes in this cool red
- 48:13packaging and there's like a I, I broke it open last week.
- 48:16They send like a little may a little message in a, in a wax
- 48:20seal envelope like Game of Thrones.
- 48:21It's fucking wild. So I'm really pleased to be an
- 48:24affiliate partner of this thing. You know, I also want to mention
- 48:28that coming soon to the show, we'll have a better experience
- 48:31as we continue to improve this. My homie and partner at Ghost
- 48:35called Omar sent me the Stream Deck Neo that I'm going to start
- 48:38using immediately next week. I started programming it, but
- 48:42it's not quite ready for prime time, but I do have a photo of
- 48:45it later in the show just to show it off with my setup here.
- 48:49And yeah, I'm really excited about all the possibilities this
- 48:52is going to open up for us to do an even more and better
- 48:54professional show. Also, just in case you didn't
- 48:58know, when you see ads at ghostcultman.com, that's from
- 49:00our partnership with Lamb Goat Media, the meaner version of
- 49:03Ghost cult ads at the Lamb Goat Media Network and the Lamb Go
- 49:08Media Network. Brands include Metal Insider,
- 49:10obviously, Lamb Go Ghost Cult, New Metal Agenda, This Day in
- 49:14Metal, and now Anthony Fantano of the Needle Drop, who has been
- 49:17taking a beating online for his low tubes and you know, mad at
- 49:22YouTube and copyright strikes. It's not allowing him to review
- 49:26music anymore. So he's freaking the fuck out
- 49:28and rightfully so. All these companies should work
- 49:33together and not against each other.
- 49:35You know what I'm saying? These fuckers.
- 49:37And also, except for you guys on TikTok, everybody else has seen
- 49:42this via Stream Yard. I have my little deck in the
- 49:44corner. I got the ghost cult name at the
- 49:46bottom. I can fly in my ticker in case
- 49:48people are not familiar with Ghost Cult man videos, intros,
- 49:52outros, sound effects, new stuff that's going to come when I
- 49:55connect it with this device. I'm super excited about Stream
- 49:58Yard. And if you sign up with the link
- 50:01in our description, you get $10 off your subscription when we
- 50:04get $10 off our next bill. So it's some Dutch door action,
- 50:07which I like a lot. I like a lot of Dutch door
- 50:10action and just a reminder we're on twitch, we're on all the
- 50:14sofos. I don't know if you are people
- 50:16seem to be very sick of social media.
- 50:17We're on it right now as we do this video across social media,
- 50:20but people tell me they don't see our stuff anymore.
- 50:24So if you want to get a more personal experience, you can
- 50:26sign up for our newsletter, follow us on discord where every
- 50:29post goes go to our website and just get your news tell me in a
- 50:33comment how you get your news. Is it blabbermouth?
- 50:36Is it friend sharing other websites?
- 50:38I know we're not the biggest website out there.
- 50:39We're OK big, top 25 big, but we're not the biggest or
- 50:45corporate sponsored. So we're getting there.
- 50:48But you know, it's a long process, OK?
- 50:51And we're on Blue Sky and we're on all the things.
- 50:53Fuck you mom and dad for throwing away my fucking Slayer
- 50:57CDs. And yes, I have a lot of
- 50:59childhood trauma. All right, it's time for the
- 51:03rest of the news, and we're going to blast through this
- 51:05pretty quickly. We're going to do all the news
- 51:07and rumors, the major stories of the week.
- 51:09Feel free to chime in and comment or ask questions.
- 51:12Then I'm going to do a little new Music Friday stuff that's
- 51:16coming out this weekend, as well as something from my mailbag,
- 51:20and then I'm going to take it home.
- 51:22So let's do this, Brutus. Obviously, again, the biggest
- 51:26story of the week is Ozzie. Man, I'm just never going to be
- 51:28the same. I knew I was not going to be
- 51:30ready. I've been saying this for a long
- 51:32time. I don't want to live in a world
- 51:33that doesn't have a Ozzie Dio hurt.
- 51:35Let me really hurt me the most before now.
- 51:39Dimebag was really terrible because I saw a damage plan the
- 51:42week before Dimebag was murdered.
- 51:44And I had a chance to like literally get right next to him.
- 51:48And he was crowded by people. And I, I bailed and I talked to
- 51:51Vinny instead. And I was like, I'll see Dime
- 51:52next time. And it wasn't next time.
- 51:54So I'm very sad about this Aussie stuff.
- 51:57Some people have been horrible. He's burning in hell.
- 52:00It's like, you know, timing, timing, bro, timing.
- 52:04Somebody just died. You want to pick on them for
- 52:06their many faults and flaws. When I interviewed Ozzy, that
- 52:09was the number one thing he talked about.
- 52:11Like, I can't apologize enough for anything I did that ever
- 52:15offended or hurt my fans, but I just hope they'll trust me and
- 52:18love me in the future and I love them back.
- 52:20So obviously a ton of tributes. Every single band, his own band,
- 52:26everybody did tributes to, to Ozzie.
- 52:30Kermit the Frog put out a tweet and an Instagram post about
- 52:33Ozzie. You know, just the impact that
- 52:37he had not just for music, but also pop culture.
- 52:41I I often push back against this idea that rock and metal people
- 52:45were unstable. We're crazy.
- 52:47You don't know what's going to happen, which is true.
- 52:49Ozzie helped perpetuate that idea.
- 52:51And I don't love that idea because it kind of downplays
- 52:53mental health. And Ozzie obviously had a lot of
- 52:55mental health problems too, that he was very open about.
- 52:58But you know, I think it's important to, you know,
- 53:01appreciate the man. If you want to look at the dark
- 53:04side of stuff, you can. I know there's an Aussie book
- 53:07coming out later in the year. I know there's an Aussie
- 53:10documentary, you know, docu bio in the works, like Bohemian
- 53:16Rhapsody, you know, good for him, good for them.
- 53:20I'm sorry, you know, whatever you think about Sharon and I
- 53:22have been a vocal critic of Sharon, but I'm deeply sorry for
- 53:25whatever she's feeling tonight. She clearly loved the guy and
- 53:28kept him going the last like 30 years where he could have been
- 53:31dead at any time. Honestly, my favorite tribute
- 53:34has been the one Metallica shared today.
- 53:35They put a post up on their website, the band wrote a
- 53:38message and then there was a longer diary that was supposed
- 53:41to come out of back to the beginning of Day by Day diary by
- 53:45Stefan Shah Razi. I don't know if you're familiar
- 53:47with him. In the 80s, he used to write for
- 53:49all the, you know, European metal magazines like Kerrang.
- 53:53And then Metallica liked him so much from hanging out with him
- 53:57and getting interviewed by him that he was their favorite
- 53:59journalist. They kind of baked him into
- 54:01Metallica ink. So he produced the So what fan
- 54:05magazine for many years. He's the Co host of their
- 54:07podcast, the Metallica Report. And he wrote this incredible
- 54:11diary about every single day of the back to the beginning
- 54:15experience from Metallica's point of view.
- 54:17And then he found out Ozzy died and had to add an addendum to
- 54:21it. So Metallica's tribute, of
- 54:24course, like everything else, first class all the way.
- 54:28Moving along from the ongoing Ozzy stuff that I'm sure will
- 54:32continue to come out. Slipknot made, you know, even
- 54:36when Slipknot tries to do something good for their fans,
- 54:39they have a toxic fan base. Let's talk about this for a
- 54:42second. We've been talking about toxic
- 54:44fan bases, Ghost, Metallica, you know, Sleep Token, and now
- 54:50Slipknot. Slipknot is next to Metallica or
- 54:53a few other bands that one of the biggest bands in the world.
- 54:55There's very few other bands that can command a crowd like
- 54:58they can. And so they've been touring for
- 55:01the last year, celebrating their debut album from 1999.
- 55:06Hey, David Apple, what's up? And they have been teasing for a
- 55:11long time. Clown has been teasing for a
- 55:13long, long time. That, you know, there's this
- 55:17anniversary, there's all this material, there's all these
- 55:20unreleased demos, there's all these visuals.
- 55:22I recorded and documented everything.
- 55:23He's now listed as the curator of Slipknot, which makes sense.
- 55:26He is the keeper of Slipknot's history, right?
- 55:30And there's new photos that have never been seen before with the
- 55:33original lineup, or at least the not original lineup, but the 99
- 55:36lineup, let's call it. Even though Chris Fenn joined at
- 55:39the very end right before the record was basically done and
- 55:44Jim didn't really contribute much to that first record.
- 55:46Honestly, it was mostly all Mick and Clown and Joey.
- 55:50But anyway, they put out this deluxe edition.
- 55:55They TS TS TS on social media. They announced we have 100 box
- 56:01sets at 249 a pop, which is about the going rate for a big
- 56:05box set like a Metallica would do for their albums.
- 56:08And I don't need a $300 load box set.
- 56:12But they they sold out immediately.
- 56:14Then they announced another 18199 for 1999.
- 56:17Clever. Now there's a smaller
- 56:19wide-ranging version of it that you can now get after Doom is
- 56:22here, Yvonne is here. So Slipknot, they felt like, oh,
- 56:27we put out like tease it out 100 and then 2000 total.
- 56:31That's a gift to our fans. They didn't put out a press
- 56:33release. They just released it.
- 56:35They just sent a message to fans.
- 56:37Whoever signed up for not Fest, whoever's got a text message
- 56:40from them, who's got an e-mail, they only sent it to them and
- 56:43the music media, Me, Lamb Goat, Metal Injection Metal sucks.
- 56:46We all had to be like, oh, we're metal insider, where's the
- 56:48story? Where's the story?
- 56:50So we did that and I found that, you know, social media posts and
- 56:53then I figured it out how to make a story.
- 56:56Then they updated it again. We're going to let out 2000 of
- 56:58these boxes. Now today there was the official
- 57:00press release that was like, we are putting out a wide-ranging
- 57:04array of sets that you can get and it's going to all be on
- 57:07streaming and there's demos. But the fans were fucking pissed
- 57:10at first. Like how the fuck did they put
- 57:12out 100? Why are there no new tracks on
- 57:14this thing? What the fuck?
- 57:17You can't please everybody. So Slipknot, at least they're
- 57:20creating conversations in chatter.
- 57:23Mr. Tuna is here. But yeah, I don't know.
- 57:28I don't know, fans. You got to check yourself
- 57:30sometimes. They don't owe you anything.
- 57:33They make music you love that doesn't entitle you to shit.
- 57:37Ever, ever, ever Led Zeppelin. Did you know that in this time
- 57:44when we've had so much Black Sabbath news, Led Zeppelin has
- 57:46had a banner year with the release of Becoming Led Zeppelin
- 57:50and the obviously expected soundtrack to Becoming Led
- 57:53Zeppelin coming on vinyl? Well, now, now there is a new
- 57:58Led Zeppelin EP coming out and I think I have it saved on my
- 58:04phone. I'm sorry Tik Tokers, it's going
- 58:06to take a second and I don't have it.
- 58:09OK, fuck me, I'm back. Led Zeppelin is putting out an
- 58:17EP. It was announced tonight or
- 58:21tomorrow. And so Led Zeppelin celebrates
- 58:26the 50th anniversary of Physical Graffiti with a live EP.
- 58:31I think there's also a these are live tracks that were only on
- 58:35the Physical Graffiti 50th anniversary set.
- 58:39And so 4 live songs from the for the first time ever on vinyl, CD
- 58:45or digital. And then there's a live VP with
- 58:49the four songs and the 50th anniversary of Physical Graffiti
- 58:52with yet another remaster of the remaster.
- 58:56So here are the four new songs, new live recordings.
- 58:59They're not new In My Time of Dying classic Trampled Under
- 59:03Foot from Earls Court 75 alongside Sick Again and
- 59:07Cashmere from the infamous Net Worth 79.
- 59:09The last concert ever I think by Zeppelin, which on Bottom
- 59:14originally. Originally released on the 2003
- 59:17Led Zeppelin DVD and appear on CD Violin Digital for the first
- 59:24time with This thing. Released on February 24th, 1975
- 59:27in the US and four days later in the UK.
- 59:29Physical Graffiti immediately was platinum and now 17 times
- 59:33platinum since its release. So you know, Physical Graffiti
- 59:36might be the best Zeppelin record.
- 59:38Cashmere 10 years gone. Wonton song.
- 59:40Custard Pie. Trampled under foot.
- 59:41In my time of dying. Jesus Christ.
- 59:45Incredible. What a fucking album.
- 59:47What a fucking band. Probably buying this.
- 59:51It comes out right before my birthday.
- 59:52Hey, Hooray for me. Might have to be a purchase.
- 59:55I didn't think I'd be buying a new Pink Floyd live album in
- 59:582025, but I did, and I didn't think there'd be a new Led
- 1:00:01Zeppelin like anything. So Ghost played on Fallon on The
- 1:00:06Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. They played Lacrimo, which he
- 1:00:08mispronounced, but it was really cool to see them do that.
- 1:00:10Ghost is sold out. Madison Square Garden.
- 1:00:13Where in my hometown New York City, the most famous arena in
- 1:00:16the world? Ghost is legitimately a huge
- 1:00:20band now, whether you like them or not.
- 1:00:24I like them also. Also things that won't blow your
- 1:00:30mind. There's war, there's famine,
- 1:00:32there's disease, there's like natural disasters, shit that is
- 1:00:36literally trying to kill the human race every day that we
- 1:00:39live on this planet. And Russia.
- 1:00:43Vladimir Putin has now made it illegal to search for Pussy Riot
- 1:00:48information on the web in Russia.
- 1:00:51I don't even know how you would enforce this.
- 1:00:54I think often about fascist governments and fascism and
- 1:00:58things that I don't want any part of.
- 1:01:00And this is fucking stupid. You know, it's like it, you
- 1:01:04know, it'd be like banning Circle Jerks or Black Flag or
- 1:01:09Rage Against the Machine. Just absolutely or Green Day.
- 1:01:11Absolutely fucking stupid. Pussy Riot is awesome.
- 1:01:15Maybe we'll get to interview them someday.
- 1:01:17I've tried Spinal Tap from the big screen everywhere.
- 1:01:23Spinal Tap 2. I got to see Spinal Tap 2 the
- 1:01:25trailer recently in a in a screaming in the sort of a when
- 1:01:29a Spinal Tap the original came back in the movie theaters over
- 1:01:32July 4th weekend. I went and saw the trailer and
- 1:01:34now it's got the wide release, but that's also getting released
- 1:01:38in September, early September and Spinal Tap to the end
- 1:01:43continues, which is incredible. And then from the big screen to
- 1:01:47the small screen, I can't show you the thing, but Beavis and
- 1:01:51Butthead announced their season 3 season this this week today.
- 1:01:57And Metallica is prominently featured animated versions of
- 1:02:00them in the in the show. Like they're playing it's
- 1:02:03playing music, Metallica music. This is just a cool shirt I used
- 1:02:07to have of butt head is Cliff Burton and, you know, clearly
- 1:02:13Beavis as Lars. Hey, Lars.
- 1:02:19Anyway, so yeah, I think we all have a little butt head in this.
- 1:02:24Maybe not everybody's a Beavis, but certainly we all have a
- 1:02:27little butt head inside of all of us.
- 1:02:28So. So Beavis and butt head hugely
- 1:02:30important to metal heads and metals.
- 1:02:32So very cool to have them back. I know they can't really do the
- 1:02:34show like they used to. Turnstile, who is having quite
- 1:02:38here had recently dropped their feature documentary at the
- 1:02:44Tribeca Film Festival and that is going to on demand and
- 1:02:47streaming on Monday, so they're very excited by that.
- 1:02:50This is from the Turnstile concert at Release Fest happens
- 1:02:53that we talked about recently shot by our friend Annie
- 1:02:55Atlasman. Great job.
- 1:02:58Also also, Slash has teamed up again with Universal for
- 1:03:03Universal Halloween Horror Nights to do the music of
- 1:03:07Halloween Horror Nights and set up Slash.
- 1:03:09Slash curated, you know, attraction scares and events as
- 1:03:16well as a Slash themed bar, which is interesting since he's
- 1:03:19sober now. But yeah, that picture, isn't
- 1:03:24that picture awesome? Mike that I'm going to go back
- 1:03:27to this one more time. Sorry you're on TikTok.
- 1:03:29I don't see this there. This dude gets so much fucking
- 1:03:31air. I wonder if he skateboards
- 1:03:33because he's like Chino. He's jumping around like out of
- 1:03:36his own soul. But anyway, Slash continuing his
- 1:03:40branding. GNR continues to be on their
- 1:03:42world tour. Still no dates for America or
- 1:03:46Latin America yet. This is Slow Crush, a a
- 1:03:50relatively newer band that we've been covering.
- 1:03:53They dropped a new single. They have a new album coming out
- 1:03:56soon. Kind of a post hardcore drony
- 1:03:58band. I like them.
- 1:04:01Talked earlier about my interview with Gus Rios of Death
- 1:04:05and Left to Die and Gruesome and now Colt Slither.
- 1:04:07So Colt Slither is hitting San Diego Comic Con this weekend.
- 1:04:10They're playing a debut show at Brick by Brick.
- 1:04:13They're doing a signing at at the Autograph center of Comic
- 1:04:17Con at the Convention Center. And again, as bad as this week
- 1:04:21has been beating the shit out of my childhood with deaths, I'm so
- 1:04:25stoked for this band. And you really need.
- 1:04:27It's so fun and it's heavy as fuck.
- 1:04:30There's a little bit of glam metal and hair metal in it, but
- 1:04:33it was mostly thrash and death metal so I don't really know
- 1:04:37what to compare it to except maybe Spirit World as AG as a
- 1:04:42Cobra band as as Zartan and the dreadlocks.
- 1:04:44I'm so excited. Beast is the Danish death metal
- 1:04:49band. They have a new album coming out
- 1:04:51soon, Colossal, and they dropped a brand new single and video
- 1:04:54today called Stormbringer. I have an interview coming soon
- 1:04:58to the channel with the band, so I'm pretty excited about that
- 1:05:05spend of beast from Denmark, Denmark, great metal scene, just
- 1:05:10King Diamond and Lars Alrich. We talked a lot around the back
- 1:05:14to the beginning concert about why Trivium wasn't there, if
- 1:05:17Gojira and Lamagot and Hailstorm were all there.
- 1:05:19But Matt had surgery on his knee.
- 1:05:23He blew out his knee and he has shared on social media details
- 1:05:29of this so you can check his Instagram post and it's pretty
- 1:05:35gnarly but I hope he gets a quick recovery.
- 1:05:37I know Trivium has supposed to go work on their new Apple.
- 1:05:43This one surprised me. Man, this, this really took the
- 1:05:48wit like the stuffing out of me. I don't know if you guys know
- 1:05:53the band Wind Rose. They're best known for the song
- 1:05:55Diggy Hole. I'm kind of in my phase where
- 1:06:01pirate metal and troll metal and all these other things I'm kind
- 1:06:05of over. But I know that Win Rose has
- 1:06:08like a huge fucking following. And so they they launched kind
- 1:06:16of like a side band. And I wanted to bring you the
- 1:06:20the full details. Give me one second here.
- 1:06:22Here we go. Vice business only VBO signs
- 1:06:25when raining Phoenix. So again, raining Phoenix called
- 1:06:29Slither like a lot of stuff happening in rainy Phoenix.
- 1:06:31New insight album coming up from Richie Cavallera soon.
- 1:06:34I got an interview with him coming to the channel.
- 1:06:36So Win Rose vocalist Francesco Capillari has teamed up with
- 1:06:39electronic artist Simon Gusti Giusti.
- 1:06:42I don't know if I said that correctly for their new project.
- 1:06:43VBO Vice business only new music coming soon and it's very like
- 1:06:49Vice City Vice in the name. It looks like you know Miami
- 1:06:53Vice like the artwork kind of cool.
- 1:06:56Here's Castrator. They got a new single out new
- 1:06:58album coming soon. One of the best death metal
- 1:07:00bands going. I'm a huge fan don't know if you
- 1:07:03are I am fucking tight band. I'm very into it.
- 1:07:08I don't know if you're fans of Paramore.
- 1:07:10I thought their comeback album was kind of crap, but just
- 1:07:14randomly Hayley Williams, who's been everywhere lately, just
- 1:07:16showed up at a radio station in Nashville to play some new solo
- 1:07:20stuff. So I assume there will be a new
- 1:07:25Hayley Williams solo album or release at some point.
- 1:07:28Kind of cool. Just weird that she just rolled
- 1:07:30in with CDRI. Didn't know people still have CD
- 1:07:32Rs Grandmother, which you definitely know from the old
- 1:07:38Trevor Sternod stuff from Metal and Metal Injection.
- 1:07:41He helped make this band famous. This is the kind of a
- 1:07:44grandmother fronting A grindcore band.
- 1:07:47They've been on a hiatus for seven years.
- 1:07:51Grandmother had been diagnosed with dementia and they are going
- 1:07:55to play two final shows in Canada at the end of this year,
- 1:07:59joining Canada Decapitation, Aborted, Frozen, Solar, Tribal
- 1:08:01Gaze. We talked about that tour
- 1:08:03earlier, one in Montreal and one in Toronto.
- 1:08:07Not only Jackson. I'll break the news, you know,
- 1:08:11best of luck. Dementia's a son of a bitch.
- 1:08:14If I ever lose my hearing or my mind, I'm ready to go.
- 1:08:18So Dusty wearing. I don't know if you're still
- 1:08:20here Dillinger, but you asked about Dusty.
- 1:08:23So we have been. You know, we got got a lot of
- 1:08:27new Between the Barry To Me new album news and a new song and no
- 1:08:32mention of Dusty out a photo of not Dusty in the band.
- 1:08:36And legally I think he was not allowed to say anything about
- 1:08:40it. So let's talk thank shout out to
- 1:08:42our friends at Lamb Goat for always tackling the tough stuff.
- 1:08:45They don't care. Dusty Waring has addressed his
- 1:08:49status with Between The Buried of Me following his firing in
- 1:08:522024. This split came after a legally
- 1:08:54disputed rape allegation, which Waring denied.
- 1:08:59Though he briefly rejoined the band in 2023, things fell apart
- 1:09:02again in the spring of 2024. The band confirmed lawyers were
- 1:09:06involved and cited that his termination was due to due to
- 1:09:12failure to render first class live performances, failure to
- 1:09:15timely notify the band of his inability to perform at all of
- 1:09:17their performances, and overall demeanor and negative behavior
- 1:09:20with his fellow bandmates, their family members, and the band's
- 1:09:23crew. So Dusty then takes the social
- 1:09:25media today to make a post. Time for an update.
- 1:09:29I've been off the road for a while, which hasn't been easy
- 1:09:31since music has been in my life as long as I can remember.
- 1:09:33While I haven't spoken publicly about my absences until now, I
- 1:09:36feel like it's time to address the questions about my
- 1:09:40involvement. After 20 years of albums, tours
- 1:09:42and great memories, BT Bam and I have officially parted ways.
- 1:09:45The delay in saying something wasn't about avoidance, time and
- 1:09:49privacy where necessary. And I truly appreciate your
- 1:09:51patience, understanding. I want to thank the guys and BT
- 1:09:53Bam and all their fans and our crew and many companies and
- 1:09:56collaborators made the last two decades of an experience beyond
- 1:09:59anything I could have imagined as a kid.
- 1:10:01Growing up with all of you on stage and off has been one of
- 1:10:04the greatest gifts of my life. Thank you to everyone who's
- 1:10:05checked in or sent kind words. Support has meant a lot, made a
- 1:10:08real difference. I've been quietly working on
- 1:10:10lots of new music and I'm excited to share more with you
- 1:10:14soon. Looking forward to seeing you
- 1:10:16all soon. So I mean, that was pretty
- 1:10:17positive. And, you know, I think it's
- 1:10:22timing's weird that he, you know, he needed to say something
- 1:10:26because people were asking him and probably people were asking
- 1:10:29the band and they can't say anything, obviously.
- 1:10:31So I don't know. How do you feel?
- 1:10:34You know, it's the same thing with Manson.
- 1:10:35People outraged. There's still accusations about
- 1:10:37Manson. He has not been guilty of
- 1:10:39anything. He was not charged with any
- 1:10:41crimes. There was an investigation into
- 1:10:43him. I agree that he has probably
- 1:10:45done some terrible things privately.
- 1:10:51It's it's it's a pickle. It's really a pickle.
- 1:10:57All right. I love this meme so much.
- 1:11:04I kept it in the show another week.
- 1:11:05I made Twitter. I made Facebook.
- 1:11:07I made Apple. That's cute.
- 1:11:08I made Jimi Hendrix. I love this so much.
- 1:11:11I love everything about it. All right, new music Friday.
- 1:11:13We're almost at the end of the show.
- 1:11:15Big, big records this week coming out.
- 1:11:17Let us talk about some of them. Let's talk about the last week
- 1:11:21of July. There's been an impact summer of
- 1:11:24releases, I think ever since the pandemic.
- 1:11:27There's still a lot of releases that are still coming out all
- 1:11:29the time. Thank you for liking the live
- 1:11:32Isma. Thank you.
- 1:11:33Max Hotcho is here. Thank you.
- 1:11:38Appreciate you pal. Appreciate everybody for passing
- 1:11:43by. So I'm going to do it like so
- 1:11:46I'm going to read the band title, the band name, the album
- 1:11:49title, the label if they have one, and the genre.
- 1:11:56This is pretty incredible to come back.

- 1:12:25Mega Mantra on the great Federal Prisoner record that is the
- 1:12:28label owned by Greg Pucciano of Better Lovers than formerly of
- 1:12:33the Dillinger Escape. Plan for some industrial metal
- 1:12:35bloodletter Leave the Light Behind on Wise Blood Records.
- 1:12:38Good Friends of Ours for some thrash from Chicago Colts.
- 1:12:41Liver on Raining Phoenix Music for some heavy metal.
- 1:12:45Cordy sips new black and brutal black and death metal with their
- 1:12:49album Hell Inside on Unique Leader Records.
- 1:12:52Crypto Dyra. Great band.
- 1:12:55I also have an interview coming up with them.
- 1:12:56Genesis of Era new EP. I've heard this, it is a banger.
- 1:13:01Silent Pendulum Records, Great label.
- 1:13:03We're big fans for some prog and experimental metal.

- 1:13:25mid Aventura EP on the fiatah crust punk.
- 1:13:30Good stuff. Next process beyond what eyes
- 1:13:33can see on transcending obscurity records for some
- 1:13:35progressive death metal. We love transcending obscurity
- 1:13:38records. Thank you for your follow Liam.
- 1:13:39We will follow you back when we get off the show.
- 1:13:43If you've got a band DMS your music, it's cool.
- 1:13:47Kill everything headless, cum down, stir on comatosephism,
- 1:13:50gore grind. You knew that was coming.

- 1:14:50metal core and death core. Probably the best album cover
- 1:14:53you will see Red brick thrown on Horror Pain Gore Death Records
- 1:14:58from Philly for some grind core. The album cover is the one of
- 1:15:03the guys in the band with a big complete skull staple job from
- 1:15:08getting bricked in the head because Philly be like that
- 1:15:12sometimes Roulette go on sound pollution label for some Swedish
- 1:15:17melodic rock scalp not worthy of human compassion for some brutal
- 1:15:21grind core and clothes casket activities.
- 1:15:24Temptress. There's a bunch of bands named
- 1:15:26Temptress, but I think this is the Temptress.
- 1:15:28Catch the Endless Dawn on Dying Victims records for some heavy
- 1:15:31metal. Telma Man Eater also on Dying
- 1:15:35Victims for some brutal black and death metal.

- 1:16:08Right around the corner. Oh, hi there.
- 1:16:10Cloudy St. Vaughn's here.
- 1:16:12Annoyingly perky. I know some people that are
- 1:16:15annoyingly perky. No shit.
- 1:16:19So that's all the new music Friday.
- 1:16:21And now we do the last segment of the show and I'm going to put
- 1:16:24myself back on screen and it's time for the mailbag.
- 1:16:28I'm here. Yo, I already talked about my
- 1:16:31love of Hey, Gigi fan is here. What's up?
- 1:16:34RIP Ozzie. Indeed, we talked a lot about
- 1:16:36Ozzie earlier in the show. Gigi fan, if you want to tune in
- 1:16:39to our podcast tomorrow or to our newsletter or to YouTube and
- 1:16:44rewatch the show, we talked a lot about Ozzie at the top.
- 1:16:47I am not OK. I am very broken by this whole
- 1:16:50thing. But last week at this time of
- 1:16:52the show, we had a malfunction. Private pile, what is your major
- 1:16:56malfunction? No, it's been hitting you later.
- 1:16:58I hear you, bro. So interestingly enough, I
- 1:17:02listened to a podcast about Gigi Allen this week with last
- 1:17:05weekend with my girlfriend. It was super.
- 1:17:07It was interesting. I've never been a fan, honestly.
- 1:17:09It's like I I understand why the attraction, but like a lot.
- 1:17:15But anyway, yeah, there's my screamed at Necco device that
- 1:17:19you will all see soon. And now once again, because my
- 1:17:23gear shit the bed. Oh, nice.
- 1:17:25Yeah, we've covered Merle. We've covered Merle and the
- 1:17:27murder junkies bro. So my gitch the bed at the end
- 1:17:31of the show last week. So if I don't fuck it up, I'll
- 1:17:35actually do the mail bag I was supposed to do last week.
- 1:17:37Now, first of all, shout out and eternal thanks to our friends
- 1:17:42John at Waterfront comics. John is a St. he's a huge metal
- 1:17:46head and a great dude and he gifted me I went to his shop and
- 1:17:52he gifted me with these ghost comics, which is now the series
- 1:17:55has concluded. So sister and Parador, these are
- 1:17:58beautifully done, written by Tobias Forge with some world
- 1:18:01renowned artists and anchors. Issue 4.
- 1:18:06I love this cover the most with she's pregnant with the gun and
- 1:18:11there's two little like ghostlings running up there.
- 1:18:13She's going to shoot them both in the fucking head.
- 1:18:16I don't like children. And then issue 4.
- 1:18:19So these are now issue 1 and 2 are now rare and three and four
- 1:18:23are pretty plentiful. You can get like one and two on
- 1:18:26eBay I think for about 30 to 40 bucks.
- 1:18:29And then I had to get this Archie's meets Silent Jay and
- 1:18:33Bob. This is issue 1.
- 1:18:35There's like 7 or 8 variant covers, so I had to pick this
- 1:18:38up. This looks beautiful and
- 1:18:40obviously written by Kevin Smith and I'm just stoked to have it.
- 1:18:44And then I've been talking a lot on the show.
- 1:18:48And again, shout out to John from Waterfront Comments.
- 1:18:50He also joined in on our he joined in on our one of our
- 1:18:55Aussie tribute shows. We're all pretty broken up.
- 1:18:59Yeah, man, that's cool. Morale is apparently very
- 1:19:01approachable and nice. So I hope you have a great time,
- 1:19:03dude. Tell us how it goes.
- 1:19:04So I've been talking about this magazine.
- 1:19:06I don't know how hoity toity you guys all are, but Blood of Gods
- 1:19:10is a wine magazine from metal heads with metal artwork from
- 1:19:15the best metal artists in the world, mostly from Decibel and
- 1:19:17other places, as well as actual interviews with metal bands.
- 1:19:25This issue features Imperial Triumphant as well as the head
- 1:19:30of Z2 comic Books, which is incredible.
- 1:19:32They have an annual merry making in July that just passed, so
- 1:19:35maybe next year I'll go. I wouldn't mind going.
- 1:19:39And so we've been talking a lot about this magazine.
- 1:19:41It's actually at the organic shop at the corner of my block
- 1:19:44of San Francisco, going to San Francisco.
- 1:19:45I love that place. And now they've come out with a
- 1:19:48compendium of their first bunch of books.
- 1:19:51So I've been trying to get some book reviews in.
- 1:19:56I'm going to do a bigger deep dive on this guy and maybe like
- 1:19:59a walkthrough. But this is the beautiful bound
- 1:20:02version of their first bunch of the first five vintages.
- 1:20:05Great name, Blood of gods, metal mayhem and wine.
- 1:20:08This is beautifully done. There's interviews with Maynard
- 1:20:10James Keenan and Les Claypool of Primus and so much more.
- 1:20:14And and this is just. And I think Juan Graven from
- 1:20:18Satiricon, who also sold his wine brand for something like
- 1:20:22$50 million, by the way. So wine is serious stuff.
- 1:20:26Oh, Believer's your favorite Aussie song.
- 1:20:28That's awesome, man. I, I asked everybody to, you
- 1:20:30know, in these various tribute shows to drop a comment with
- 1:20:34your favorite Aussie moment or song, whether it's Sabbath or
- 1:20:36Solo. Believer's incredible.
- 1:20:39Stidu is here and Belle Crane is here.
- 1:20:43Gigi fan, you've been a very loyal watcher of our channel and
- 1:20:46I appreciate you for quite a long time.
- 1:20:49And I just want to say thank you and I'm sorry.
- 1:20:51We're all suffering, we're all hurting.
- 1:20:52Nobody was, I wasn't ready. Nobody was ready.
- 1:20:55And this sucks. I don't know what else to do
- 1:20:59except listen to Ozzy and take care of myself and be there for
- 1:21:04others. So that is our show at a very
- 1:21:07lengthy hour and 21 minutes, 1:29 PM.
- 1:21:12Oh, sorry. 1:29 AM Sorry. Yeah.
- 1:21:16Middle of the night here in late night TV here in San Francisco.
- 1:21:20Sorry about that. I'm going to miss Ozzy forever.
- 1:21:23But yeah, I got you, man. I got you.
- 1:21:27Titanium Trinket is here. Everybody that watched, I really
- 1:21:30appreciate you. Quite a bunch of, you know,
- 1:21:31viewers on the TikTok and the Instagram even for this late
- 1:21:35hour. I appreciate you all again, if
- 1:21:40you follow us, we'll give you a follow back if you got some kind
- 1:21:42of legitimate channel or profile and you know it means more than
- 1:21:48ever. I say this every week at the end
- 1:21:50of the show and I it hits hardest at the hardest times,
- 1:21:54Man, it's a tough time in the world.
- 1:21:56So take care of yourselves, take care of each other and stay as
- 1:22:00metal as humanly possible. I'm going to dance a jig on the
- 1:22:03way out because we laughed through the pain and we cracked
- 1:22:06through the tears and we we scream to the sky.
- 1:22:11Rest in power, Ozzy. Have a great weekend.
- 1:22:13Be safe, don't drink and drive. And I'm Keithia ghost code mag.
- 1:22:16Check us out. Peace.
