- 0:27Speaker 2: Your mind, Chicken It Wiki Kee, Hello and welcome back
- 0:42Speaker 2: to another episode of Kicking Wikiki, Life, Love and all
- 0:44Speaker 2: that other ship. I am your host, Kiki Chanel, a
- 0:47Speaker 2: one winning author, lifestyle blogger, and certified life coach. The
- 0:51Speaker 2: over our thing for Kicking and Wikiki is to talk
- 0:53Speaker 2: about life, love and all the things in between. Today
- 0:56Speaker 2: I am joined with a special guest, and you guys
- 0:58Speaker 2: are not new to the channel. I like to give
- 1:01Speaker 2: my guests the opportunity to introduce themselves. So Miss Tiffany,
- 1:04Speaker 2: thank you for coming to kick it with me. Tell
- 1:06Speaker 2: the people who you are what you do well.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Thank you so much for having me. I'm really excited
- 1:12Speaker 1: to be here. My name is Tiffany McQuaid. I am
- 1:18Speaker 1: kind of an entrepreneur who sells real estate and owns
- 1:23Speaker 1: a brokerage and a marketing company and a title company.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And we're based here in beautiful Sunny I'm slightly biased
- 1:32Speaker 1: Naples Florida. Nice.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Nice, that's a great resume. So again, we're gonna get
- 1:37Speaker 2: into that. But I like to talk about life, love
- 1:40Speaker 2: and all the things in between. So I asked you
- 1:42Speaker 2: a question about life. How has life shaped the foundation
- 1:48Speaker 2: of who you are as a business woman?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Oh, A life in general or any is there.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Any any particular Yeah, any particular moment that stands out
- 2:01Speaker 2: to you that comes to mind that has helped shape
- 2:03Speaker 2: your life as a business woman.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Without a doubt. So I unfortunately lost my father when
- 2:12Speaker 1: I was ten, and he elected to take his life
- 2:18Speaker 1: on Christmas Day. I was ten. My sister was five
- 2:22Speaker 1: at the time, and you know, of course, through that
- 2:25Speaker 1: huge life challenge, obstacle, hurdle, however you want to look
- 2:30Speaker 1: at it. I look back on it now and I
- 2:33Speaker 1: kind of became my mother's right arm. You know, she
- 2:36Speaker 1: was raising two girls. This was in the eighties. You know,
- 2:39Speaker 1: there wasn't therapy, There wasn't you know, someone that you
- 2:43Speaker 1: could pick up the phone and talk to necessarily. And
- 2:47Speaker 1: it was at a time when there was a massive
- 2:51Speaker 1: stigma around suicide. I mean I recognize as in it's
- 2:56Speaker 1: very dynamic even today, you know, people are not quite
- 3:02Speaker 1: sure how to take that or handle that. But back then,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm sure you can imagine it was even worse. So,
- 3:09Speaker 1: you know, it kind of became we were disconnected from
- 3:13Speaker 1: the family. You know, it was hard for the family
- 3:16Speaker 1: to see us and not think about him. There was
- 3:20Speaker 1: religious disassociation, you know, fear of not understanding you know that,
- 3:28Speaker 1: but also just you know, evolving through taking the most
- 3:33Speaker 1: joyous holiday for a child, you know in your life
- 3:37Speaker 1: that you look forward to and learning to over time
- 3:44Speaker 1: turn it into something entirely different. I mean, I look
- 3:50Speaker 1: back on it now and think, boy, I'm so thankful
- 3:53Speaker 1: because my life could have turned out very, very differently,
- 3:57Speaker 1: you know. But I think over time, what I started
- 4:01Speaker 1: to learn, and this is what has made my entrepreneurial
- 4:04Speaker 1: journey more enduring, is the fact that I learned at
- 4:12Speaker 1: a very young age that number one, I had the
- 4:16Speaker 1: ability or the capability to bring joy to my mother
- 4:23Speaker 1: in very easy, simple ways. You know, she had the
- 4:27Speaker 1: weight of the world on her shoulders, and I saw
- 4:30Speaker 1: her so often, you know, with tears streaming down her
- 4:34Speaker 1: face and you know, overwhelming, and so she would come
- 4:38Speaker 1: home from work. I knew that, you know, if I
- 4:40Speaker 1: washed the dishes or had the house, you know, looking nice,
- 4:45Speaker 1: or just made her, you know, just smile at her.
- 4:49Speaker 1: She always said that my smile brought her joy, you
- 4:51Speaker 1: know me dinner, that there were different little things that
- 4:55Speaker 1: I could do that would emanate that ability for her
- 5:00Speaker 1: to kind of turn her day around. And I learned
- 5:04Speaker 1: throughout the course of my life that you know, we
- 5:07Speaker 1: have the incredible influence you know, not influencers per se
- 5:13Speaker 1: as we look at them today based on social media,
- 5:16Speaker 1: but we have the ability to influence the people that
- 5:20Speaker 1: we encounter and how they feel when they come around
- 5:25Speaker 1: us or engage with us. And you know that there
- 5:29Speaker 1: is so much opportunity for us to energetically, without even
- 5:33Speaker 1: realizing it, turn around someone else's day, you know, whether
- 5:37Speaker 1: it's just a simple act of kindness or it's just
- 5:40Speaker 1: how you receive them. You know, are you enthusiastic, are
- 5:45Speaker 1: you smiling? You know, do you have a frown on
- 5:49Speaker 1: your face? Are you carrying the weight of the world
- 5:51Speaker 1: on your shoulders, which you know we all are, let's
- 5:54Speaker 1: be honest, Yeah, but we also have a choice, and
- 5:58Speaker 1: that choice is how are you going to show up?
- 6:01Speaker 1: How are you going to project yourself to someone, especially
- 6:04Speaker 1: people that you've never met or encountered before. You know,
- 6:09Speaker 1: how do you want to be received? Not that we
- 6:12Speaker 1: can control how people receive us in the moment, but
- 6:15Speaker 1: what we can control is efforting, you know, putting forth
- 6:21Speaker 1: the effort that that reception could be a really good one.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Because when you think about the entrepreneurial journey, the people
- 6:30Speaker 1: that we remember the most are in dynamics are the
- 6:35Speaker 1: ones that involved enthusiasm. Yes, right when there was an
- 6:40Speaker 1: enthusiastic energy on the other side. I'm not talking fake enthusiasm,
- 6:46Speaker 1: but just genuine, authentic enthusiasm. You know, joy and enthusiasm
- 6:54Speaker 1: go hand in hand, and that just goes out, you know,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and you're just putting so many great things out into
- 7:02Speaker 1: the world. And so to circle back, I know I
- 7:06Speaker 1: gave you the scenic tour to the end of that question.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But you know, enthusiastic energy is something or enthusiasm is
- 7:15Speaker 1: something that you can choose, and you can choose to
- 7:19Speaker 1: present yourself both in how you're engaging with people but
- 7:25Speaker 1: also how you're approaching life. And when enthusiastic energy, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 1: pairs in it, it's joy. It's joy and enthusiasm hand
- 7:37Speaker 1: in hand, and your entrepreneurial journey will be entirely different.
- 7:41Speaker 1: No matter the ups and downs, the bumps that you know, whatever,
- 7:45Speaker 1: there's always something to be enthusiastic about. So it's finding
- 7:49Speaker 1: that I love that.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I love everything that you said, and a lot of
- 7:53Speaker 2: people don't know how to take adversity are certain dark
- 7:57Speaker 2: situations to turn them into something light that can evolve
- 8:01Speaker 2: business as well as personal life into something amazing. Thank
- 8:06Speaker 2: you for sharing it.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Thank you for asking the question. I've never been asked
- 8:11Speaker 1: that question before. That was a great one, Thank you,
- 8:14Speaker 1: Thank you. And so talking about the entrepreperneural journey, how
- 8:19Speaker 1: did you know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? Uh, well,
- 8:24Speaker 1: you know, it's interesting. My brain functions in like three
- 8:29Speaker 1: D technicolor, and it's the strangest thing. You know. I'm
- 8:34Speaker 1: not like a creative all the time. I'm one of
- 8:37Speaker 1: those that balance creative with logic and business like almost equally.
- 8:43Speaker 1: But when my brain has those days that I'm functioning
- 8:46Speaker 1: in creative mode, I will create and spew things out
- 8:50Speaker 1: like a ticker tape. You know. It just has been
- 8:53Speaker 1: kind of like a special gift that I've had that
- 8:57Speaker 1: I've just kind of allowed it to evolve over all
- 9:00Speaker 1: the years. But it's kind of truly become my differentiator.
- 9:04Speaker 1: And I think that we all have like little differentiating
- 9:08Speaker 1: differentiating skills and talents and gifts, you know, and we
- 9:13Speaker 1: just kind of need to zero in on those and
- 9:16Speaker 1: hone in on those. But for me, I'm a creator
- 9:19Speaker 1: by nature, and I think anyone on this journey is
- 9:23Speaker 1: you know, you see a void, you desire to fill
- 9:26Speaker 1: a void, You desire to do something different. You like
- 9:30Speaker 1: to create something from nothing. That is like my favorite
- 9:34Speaker 1: thing in the world to do, you know, give me
- 9:36Speaker 1: a challenge and of something, you know, to create something
- 9:40Speaker 1: that does not currently exist in any platform. And I
- 9:44Speaker 1: just you want to talk about enthusiasm going through the roof.
- 9:47Speaker 1: It just I love it. So you know that I
- 9:51Speaker 1: think helps you get through the bumps and the entrepreneurial journey.
- 9:55Speaker 1: But you need the bumps to truly appreciate the you,
- 10:00Speaker 1: the good and the great things that happen.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Absolutely, can you share with the audience a memorable success
- 10:07Speaker 2: story from your career?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Oh wait, well, you know it's interesting. I've been blessed
- 10:14Speaker 1: with many and I think, well, you know, we all
- 10:19Speaker 1: have great things that happen on our journeys, and you know,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I think it's one of those things that the bad
- 10:24Speaker 1: stuff and the negative things that happen are easier to
- 10:29Speaker 1: believe than the good things.
- 10:31Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:32Speaker 1: We could accomplish a million amazing tasks and goals, and
- 10:37Speaker 1: you know, but I never take time to just like
- 10:40Speaker 1: sit in them, or to pat myself on the back
- 10:43Speaker 1: or to say good job. Tif. I never do that
- 10:46Speaker 1: because ultimately, and I probably should a little more, I
- 10:50Speaker 1: just don't because my brain's always onto the next thing.
- 10:53Speaker 1: But you know, I think that probably my biggest and
- 11:00Speaker 1: a few of the things that I'm most proud of
- 11:02Speaker 1: are all people centric, you know, and that I have
- 11:06Speaker 1: been so blessed to have the most amazing team, you know,
- 11:13Speaker 1: my core team. They have just been so loyal and
- 11:17Speaker 1: have believed in me through every hurdle imaginable, of which
- 11:22Speaker 1: there's been a ton. But they've also been with me
- 11:25Speaker 1: through all the successes too, you know. So that I've
- 11:29Speaker 1: encountered some amazing people like you know, Barbara Corkoran and
- 11:34Speaker 1: I just merged my company with Ryan Surhant. I'm you know,
- 11:38Speaker 1: just incredible people that you you could only dream of
- 11:43Speaker 1: having people like this fall into your life. You know,
- 11:47Speaker 1: it's it's a blessing and a gift for sure. And
- 11:53Speaker 1: you know, you just kind of think if you didn't
- 11:56Speaker 1: take risks, because all of those happened for me by
- 12:00Speaker 1: taking risks. If you don't take those, then you're not
- 12:05Speaker 1: giving yourself those incredible opportunities, whether there are people related
- 12:09Speaker 1: or a product or you know whatever. But you have
- 12:14Speaker 1: to take the risks to get the rewards.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Absolutely, I love I love it because, like you said,
- 12:20Speaker 2: if you don't take the risks, you won't see or
- 12:23Speaker 2: know that there's a reward. So thank you for your
- 12:25Speaker 2: insight on it. And let's get into real estate a
- 12:27Speaker 2: little bit. Sure what everything that's going on in the
- 12:30Speaker 2: world and technology is taken over sort of, Yeah, how
- 12:34Speaker 2: do you see technology transforming the real estate industry in
- 12:38Speaker 2: the next decade?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Well, so, technology, you know, is always a catch twenty
- 12:45Speaker 1: two in a way. But you know, the one thing
- 12:47Speaker 1: that I know for sure is that there's still the
- 12:50Speaker 1: incredible power of connection and no matter what a robot
- 12:55Speaker 1: or AI or you know, any of those dynamics, the
- 12:59Speaker 1: ability for a consumer to obtain information about a property
- 13:03Speaker 1: or an area or what have you. A great real
- 13:07Speaker 1: estate professional that knows their stuff, that takes time to
- 13:12Speaker 1: constantly be educating themselves, that knows the contracts inside and out,
- 13:19Speaker 1: that knows, you know, in the area that you're looking at,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you know what days or trash days. You know, where
- 13:26Speaker 1: families or children or people are that may enjoy pickleball
- 13:31Speaker 1: the way you enjoy pickleball, or you know. It's those
- 13:35Speaker 1: types of relationships and connections that will always keep real
- 13:41Speaker 1: estate you know, moving forward, but in a great way.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But it's going to be going forward. You know, what
- 13:47Speaker 1: value and what value proposition are you bringing to the
- 13:51Speaker 1: table for a buyer or seller to choose you. You know,
- 13:55Speaker 1: I think over the next ten years, I would venture
- 14:00Speaker 1: to say that the industry itself will compress from multiple perspectives.
- 14:04Speaker 1: So I think we're going to see compression of numbers
- 14:08Speaker 1: of agents getting licenses, and you know, perhaps a little
- 14:12Speaker 1: change in how the process that you go through to
- 14:16Speaker 1: be licensed and or maintaining license. So I think that's
- 14:20Speaker 1: going to be one thing. I think compression of transaction
- 14:24Speaker 1: is going to be a real thing too, you know,
- 14:27Speaker 1: as technology, although we're pretty tech centric now, but I
- 14:32Speaker 1: think timelines and things will start to get tightened even
- 14:35Speaker 1: more in terms of you know, maybe going to contract
- 14:39Speaker 1: and closing on a property. Ability to get things done
- 14:43Speaker 1: is going to speed up even more. I believe that
- 14:48Speaker 1: as interest rates and things adjust, I think we're going
- 14:51Speaker 1: to see a ton a ton of first time home
- 14:55Speaker 1: buyers coming into the market, unlike anything we've ever seen,
- 14:59Speaker 1: because I think there are so many sitting there. You know,
- 15:03Speaker 1: we're seeing the younger population living at home longer, right
- 15:08Speaker 1: and perhaps you know, saving for a property. So there,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I think there's going to be a big transition from
- 15:15Speaker 1: that perspective. I also think that we're going to see
- 15:20Speaker 1: a lot more situations where people, especially like in retirement years,
- 15:26Speaker 1: are sharing housing. I think that that is going to
- 15:30Speaker 1: definitely be something, you know, more like Golden Girls style,
- 15:36Speaker 1: you know. I think you're going to start seeing some
- 15:38Speaker 1: more of that too. We're already seeing that, but I
- 15:40Speaker 1: think in ten years that's going to evolve hugely.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Okay, nice, Nice, So what advice would you give a woman,
- 15:50Speaker 2: a woman entering into the space of real estate for today.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Get new, coming in, licensed new or already in the business, someone.
- 16:02Speaker 2: That's actually aspired to become Okay state idea.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Yeah, Well so number one, I think it's an incredible career.
- 16:10Speaker 1: I've been doing it for twenty three years and it
- 16:13Speaker 1: was kind of my dream to be able to do
- 16:16Speaker 1: so I feel so blessed to do it. There's huge
- 16:19Speaker 1: differences between when I started then till now. But for
- 16:23Speaker 1: anyone stepping into it now, knowledge is going to be
- 16:28Speaker 1: your power number one, over and above anything. And for
- 16:32Speaker 1: those people who think, well, i'll do it part time
- 16:36Speaker 1: and dabble in it, you know, and a career is
- 16:40Speaker 1: not made in part time in the real estate industry,
- 16:44Speaker 1: as you saw. So you're really and especially going forward
- 16:48Speaker 1: now with all the changes in the industry from the
- 16:51Speaker 1: buyer's representation side, you know, you have to be able
- 16:55Speaker 1: to show your value now, which is a little different.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You know, it used to be, well, you know, my
- 17:00Speaker 1: brother's cousin's sister has her license, and you know, we're
- 17:04Speaker 1: going to look for properties and she could use a
- 17:06Speaker 1: little extra money, so we're going to work with her.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And you know, there was a lot of that going
- 17:12Speaker 1: on from you know, a buyer's side, which I think
- 17:16Speaker 1: when you're thinking about your most valuable asset or one
- 17:19Speaker 1: of them, you know, I think now going forward, because
- 17:23Speaker 1: now the buyer's paying for the buyer's side, representation the
- 17:28Speaker 1: seller for the seller side. You know, we think now
- 17:31Speaker 1: going forward, what's going to be so very very important
- 17:35Speaker 1: is that you are choosing a professional to represent you
- 17:39Speaker 1: on either side that is going to listen to what
- 17:44Speaker 1: you're looking for, be the most knowledgeable in being able
- 17:48Speaker 1: to help you achieve that. Have crazy mad negotiation skills.
- 17:53Speaker 1: That's and that's one thing that I would say, sharpen
- 17:55Speaker 1: your negotiation skills for sure. Knowledge of contracts inside and
- 18:01Speaker 1: out like the back of your hand, and the exact
- 18:04Speaker 1: same thing about the market inside and out like the
- 18:07Speaker 1: back of your hand. Know what's going on in your marketplace.
- 18:11Speaker 1: And to me, I would zero in on one particular
- 18:17Speaker 1: area or neighborhood or farm, which I've done for twenty
- 18:23Speaker 1: three years. I've marketed the community where I live and
- 18:27Speaker 1: have been blessed to have market share all of those years.
- 18:31Speaker 1: If someone is coming in now, I would definitely recommend
- 18:36Speaker 1: doing that because you can manage expenses a little better.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Number one. But again, now with all the changes in
- 18:43Speaker 1: the industry, everyone wants to work with the experts in
- 18:47Speaker 1: that market and if they're looking in a particular area
- 18:51Speaker 1: or neighborhood, they want to know, who's going to know
- 18:55Speaker 1: exactly what I said earlier? What days or trash days?
- 18:59Speaker 1: You know, how do I how do I play pickleball?
- 19:02Speaker 1: How do I access what are the fee structure? You
- 19:05Speaker 1: know all of those things that anyus situation or you know,
- 19:11Speaker 1: someone blindly walking in to just show a house are
- 19:15Speaker 1: not going to know. So really focus in on who
- 19:19Speaker 1: you're going to be, where you're going to meaning, how
- 19:22Speaker 1: are you going to show up, what is your intention?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Where are you going to market yourself and double down
- 19:30Speaker 1: on that. And lastly, knowledge, knowledge, knowledge, knowledge, knowledge knowledge.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Absolutely, you never can learn too much in my opinion. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:42Speaker 2: right right. So let's talk about the book. I love
- 19:46Speaker 2: the name of this book, The Age How to stand
- 19:50Speaker 2: Out by going all in? How did you come up
- 19:53Speaker 2: with the name? First and foremost?
- 19:55Speaker 1: Well, what's what's really interesting about that is we at
- 19:59Speaker 1: are off. We always when we were kind of starting
- 20:03Speaker 1: the company, well it'll be thirteen years ago. When we
- 20:07Speaker 1: were starting the company, we were looking for a tagline
- 20:10Speaker 1: from equating company, something, you know, that we could kind
- 20:14Speaker 1: of equate out to show that we were different, that
- 20:16Speaker 1: we were unique. And you know, my creative team, we
- 20:19Speaker 1: all kind of bounced around all sorts of ideas and
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'll never forget it. We were all in a group
- 20:23Speaker 1: text texting back and forth, and all of a sudden
- 20:27Speaker 1: it was like, you know, thinking of that, you know,
- 20:30Speaker 1: the inth degree. How people always say they're going the
- 20:34Speaker 1: nth degree. So we switched it to the MTh degree.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You know that we real estate to the MTh degree,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you know, since we started with them, right, So we
- 20:43Speaker 1: kind of started playing with that. And then when the
- 20:46Speaker 1: book dialogue you know, started happening, and Bruce my collaborator
- 20:53Speaker 1: on the book, and we were kind of brainstorming it.
- 20:56Speaker 1: We were breaking down the categories and the keys for
- 21:00Speaker 1: the inside and for the inside, and it just kind
- 21:04Speaker 1: of became a natural evolution of what to do with it.
- 21:09Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:10Speaker 1: We kind of played around with m degree and oh,
- 21:12Speaker 1: we had all sorts of things going, and then all
- 21:14Speaker 1: of a sudden it was like, well, this is silly.
- 21:16Speaker 1: You know, everything it's about going all in, you know,
- 21:21Speaker 1: so bah in the degree. So yeah, we were really
- 21:24Speaker 1: actually surprised that there wasn't already a book titled that.
- 21:27Speaker 1: So yeah, we felt you're in ovative.
- 21:32Speaker 2: I love it, I love it. I love the play
- 21:34Speaker 2: of words.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Oh I have so much fun with the inwords I
- 21:39Speaker 1: play all the time.
- 21:41Speaker 2: And let's talk about the importance of being able to
- 21:44Speaker 2: stand out by going all in.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think that that is the most important
- 21:53Speaker 1: thing ever, because I believe that people who authentically show up,
- 22:04Speaker 1: meaning presenting themselves to the world or to the business
- 22:08Speaker 1: or someone that they encounter, engage with with authenticity, you
- 22:14Speaker 1: know it. You I think we're in a society now
- 22:19Speaker 1: where you're starting to recognize fake versus authentic, you know,
- 22:26Speaker 1: and there's probably you know, a range there in between
- 22:29Speaker 1: of where people fall. And you know, I kind of learned, well,
- 22:34Speaker 1: I didn't kind of I did learn through all my
- 22:37Speaker 1: trials and tribulations in my life and the horrible things
- 22:41Speaker 1: that happened to me, you know, and I felt like
- 22:43Speaker 1: for so long, and I remember, even after my dad passed,
- 22:48Speaker 1: for so long, I was embarrassed by it. I was disconnected,
- 22:54Speaker 1: you know, I was afraid to tell because nobody that
- 22:56Speaker 1: I knew didn't have a dad, you know, let alone
- 23:00Speaker 1: one that passed away. You know, I had nobody to
- 23:03Speaker 1: relate to. And you kind of find yourself in various
- 23:08Speaker 1: stages of life where you're like, you're kind of creating
- 23:13Speaker 1: a safe space for yourself. You're a protective rap if
- 23:19Speaker 1: you will, you know, around your heart or your mind
- 23:22Speaker 1: or your circumstance, you know, just so you don't feel
- 23:26Speaker 1: so alone or disconnected. And I think I went through
- 23:30Speaker 1: a lot of my life not wanting to talk about it,
- 23:35Speaker 1: so I wasn't like authentic to who I was. And
- 23:38Speaker 1: I never want to say my story because I don't
- 23:41Speaker 1: want to use it as a you know, it just
- 23:44Speaker 1: sounds like I don't want to use it as something
- 23:46Speaker 1: that you're, Oh, what's the word I'm looking for? You
- 23:50Speaker 1: know that you're kind of trying to play a martyr
- 23:53Speaker 1: with That, wasn't it. But you know, I had this
- 23:58Speaker 1: weird epiphany in my twenties where I started to realize, well,
- 24:01Speaker 1: wait a second, why am I I was in college,
- 24:04Speaker 1: you know, and in a sorority, and I remember people,
- 24:08Speaker 1: you know, there would be parents Day and stuff, and
- 24:11Speaker 1: I finally like one day it was almost like a
- 24:13Speaker 1: weird like a clearing of inner energy where I just
- 24:20Speaker 1: laid it out. I don't have a d end, you know,
- 24:23Speaker 1: I did he you know, went through the whole dynamic
- 24:27Speaker 1: and that was incredibly freeing, and you know, I didn't
- 24:32Speaker 1: want people's sympathy or empathy for that matter. That isn't
- 24:36Speaker 1: what I was looking for. I think what it did
- 24:39Speaker 1: is it just transformed my vision and my ability to
- 24:44Speaker 1: feel like people can still accept me despite or in
- 24:49Speaker 1: spite of the fact that I'm missing someone that they
- 24:54Speaker 1: all have. You know, that makes you, you know, like
- 24:57Speaker 1: a circus side show, you know, right, That's kind of
- 25:00Speaker 1: what it felt like when we were young, because we
- 25:02Speaker 1: were disconnected from the family. But then, you know, I
- 25:05Speaker 1: had other things happen to me throughout my life that
- 25:09Speaker 1: I do speak of in the book, and you know,
- 25:11Speaker 1: I think through the course of that, it just became
- 25:14Speaker 1: not that I'm out there sharing my story with everyone.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I'm not, but I learned to release it and to forgive. Yes,
- 25:24Speaker 1: you know, forgive my dad for what he did. Although
- 25:27Speaker 1: I wish, you know, to the day that he were here,
- 25:30Speaker 1: But I forgave him for that because I can't even
- 25:32Speaker 1: imagine what was in his mind. You know, I've forgiven
- 25:35Speaker 1: all these dynamics that I've gone through, even on this
- 25:38Speaker 1: entrepreneurial journey. And what it did was it's freaked me
- 25:43Speaker 1: up to not feel like all that intense weight so
- 25:48Speaker 1: It's allowed me to just be me right, you know,
- 25:51Speaker 1: as crazy or as quirky as that can be at times,
- 25:54Speaker 1: you know, or as brilliant as I choose to be
- 25:59Speaker 1: when I choose to be bad, or as quiet or
- 26:03Speaker 1: silent as you know sometimes I like, well most nights,
- 26:06Speaker 1: you know, I'm an introvert at heart, and I like
- 26:10Speaker 1: to just be quiet or you know, if I don't
- 26:13Speaker 1: want to go meet people or go to a party,
- 26:17Speaker 1: you know, feeling authentically me to say no, I'm sorry,
- 26:22Speaker 1: thank you for inviting me, but no, I just can't
- 26:26Speaker 1: and not feel like I have to do that stuff
- 26:28Speaker 1: because I'm being authentic to me. And so that's what
- 26:32Speaker 1: I mean about going in, like listening to your inner voice,
- 26:36Speaker 1: listening to your heart and your soul, and doing what
- 26:40Speaker 1: it says, what your gut says, you know, even if
- 26:43Speaker 1: it's not the popular answer, that's what's going in.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Absolutely I love it. So tell the audience how can
- 26:50Speaker 2: they get the book? Where is the book located?
- 26:52Speaker 1: Well, the book actually, I have fun right here. They
- 26:58Speaker 1: can get it. I'm online wherever books are sold, Barnes
- 27:02Speaker 1: and Noble Books, a million, Amazon anywhere like that. It's
- 27:08Speaker 1: available paperback, hardcover, audio book and let's see and also
- 27:16Speaker 1: on my website at tiffanymacquaid dot com.
- 27:20Speaker 2: And all of her information will be in the show
- 27:22Speaker 2: notes guys, so there's no excuse. Go get the book,
- 27:25Speaker 2: learn about different things and strategies and circumstances and experiences
- 27:30Speaker 2: that Tiffany shares in her book, and I know it's
- 27:32Speaker 2: going to be amazing. I am definitely getting my copy,
- 27:35Speaker 2: so thank you for telling us where to get it from.
- 27:37Speaker 2: And I want to jump into your philosophy. When I
- 27:41Speaker 2: saw that in your bio, I was like, we have
- 27:43Speaker 2: to talk about that something great leads to something great. Yeah,
- 27:49Speaker 2: how does your philosophy influence the way you set your goals,
- 27:54Speaker 2: set and pursue your goals when it comes to that.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Well, I'm one that is a believer in reaching for
- 28:03Speaker 1: the stars always. You know, I think there's so many people,
- 28:09Speaker 1: and I'm sure everyone out there can relate to this,
- 28:13Speaker 1: that there are so many people out there just living
- 28:16Speaker 1: in status quo, you know, not wanting to ruffle feathers,
- 28:21Speaker 1: not wanting to serve things up, whether it's their life
- 28:25Speaker 1: or a circumstance, just in general, you know, just wanting
- 28:31Speaker 1: to stay as status quo and I decided a long
- 28:34Speaker 1: time ago that I just didn't want to be status quo.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I didn't want to accept things as they were being
- 28:40Speaker 1: presented to me or as they were in the moment.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I wanted to know that everything that I was doing,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I was striving to be a little bit better and better,
- 28:50Speaker 1: or you know, creating something a little bigger or wider
- 28:55Speaker 1: reach or more valuable in terms of action or reaction.
- 29:01Speaker 1: You know, the ability to change the world. You know,
- 29:05Speaker 1: why try to change it? For one, when go for
- 29:09Speaker 1: a hundred, go for a thousand, you know, go for thousands.
- 29:13Speaker 1: So I guess I've just never been a believer in
- 29:17Speaker 1: that and status quo, So I'm always kind of pushing it,
- 29:21Speaker 1: pushing it, which equates back to the nth degree or
- 29:26Speaker 1: m degree, however you look at it. You know, just
- 29:29Speaker 1: never wanted to be what was normal, customary, and what
- 29:33Speaker 1: was expected.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Absolutely I loved it. So what is something that you
- 29:38Speaker 2: do every day to make sure that you stay conducive
- 29:41Speaker 2: to that philosophy that you have, knowing that you know
- 29:45Speaker 2: something great leads to something great.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I have, Like it's not a routine because
- 29:53Speaker 1: I do change it up, you know, in the morning, sometimes,
- 29:55Speaker 1: but I get up very early. I'm usually up by
- 29:58Speaker 1: for am because there is nothing that brings me more
- 30:02Speaker 1: joy in the world than having quiet time before I
- 30:07Speaker 1: feel like the rest of the world is up. You know,
- 30:10Speaker 1: I enjoy it. I take my dog out first thing,
- 30:12Speaker 1: you know, I have that first cup of coffee, and
- 30:14Speaker 1: I usually will just kind of sit in my own mind,
- 30:18Speaker 1: you know, in silence and quiet. Sometimes all read something
- 30:23Speaker 1: that inspires me or you know, maybe grounds me, aligns me, spiritually,
- 30:29Speaker 1: centers me, whatever that would be. I do jump in
- 30:33Speaker 1: my pool almost every morning at around five five thirty
- 30:37Speaker 1: in the morning, and I love it. So you know,
- 30:40Speaker 1: I'm in Florida, so not everyone can do this, but
- 30:43Speaker 1: right what I love about that is I jump in
- 30:46Speaker 1: it's dark out, you can see the stars in the sky,
- 30:49Speaker 1: you know, picture it. It's back. You got the stars
- 30:52Speaker 1: in the sky and they're so bright, and you jump
- 30:56Speaker 1: in the pool and I swim what I call my
- 30:58Speaker 1: laps of gratitude, And you know, every day I kind
- 31:02Speaker 1: of change it up, you know, and different topics or
- 31:06Speaker 1: you know whatever. Maybe I have a need to focus
- 31:10Speaker 1: on or desire to focus on for the day, and
- 31:12Speaker 1: I just swim end to end until I just exhaust
- 31:15Speaker 1: myself back and forth just thinking of all the things
- 31:18Speaker 1: that I'm grateful for, you know, and I just kind
- 31:24Speaker 1: of make these little outward lists. And there are some
- 31:29Speaker 1: days where maybe I'm feeling a little heavy about something
- 31:33Speaker 1: and I use it as an opportunity to to just
- 31:35Speaker 1: release it, you know, and just surrender it. And I
- 31:38Speaker 1: swim and surrender it. And I'll tell you that just
- 31:41Speaker 1: recalibrates my brain every single day. It is the craziest thing.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I love that. And speaking of love or the
- 31:50Speaker 2: last question of the day, Yes, if you had to
- 31:54Speaker 2: give your definition of love, what would it be? And why?
- 32:00Speaker 1: Oh? To me, love is peaceful energy and I feel
- 32:07Speaker 1: like you can love so many things, animals, people, places,
- 32:14Speaker 1: you know, situations. To me, it's wherever I find peace,
- 32:21Speaker 1: and that ultimately always equates to something or somewhere that.
- 32:25Speaker 2: I love absolutely. But Tiffany, it has been amazing having
- 32:31Speaker 2: you here today, coming and kicking with me. Is I
- 32:35Speaker 2: tell everybody that each each season gets even better. But
- 32:39Speaker 2: you're You're my top five episodes because you are You're
- 32:43Speaker 2: so I don't know it's the energy, the smile that
- 32:46Speaker 2: you have, but the way you light your eyes light
- 32:49Speaker 2: up where you talk about your experience and things like that.
- 32:51Speaker 2: So I just love that. So thank you for for
- 32:53Speaker 2: going all in when you when you're through with today.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Well, thank you, thank you. It was such a blessing
- 33:00Speaker 1: and I am really really appreciative of your time. So fun.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Absolutely, And so before we get out of here, is
- 33:07Speaker 2: there any words of encouragement or advice that you would
- 33:10Speaker 2: like to leave the listeners with today?
- 33:12Speaker 1: Okay, so this I will leave all the entrepreneurial listeners
- 33:16Speaker 1: with this. This was single handedly the best bit of
- 33:20Speaker 1: advice I've ever received, and it was from Barbara Quirkran
- 33:24Speaker 1: And I remember I was going through She's kind of
- 33:26Speaker 1: had her thumb on the pulse of my business for
- 33:28Speaker 1: over twenty years, and so this is this is a
- 33:32Speaker 1: really good one. I was going through a really hard time.
- 33:35Speaker 1: It was probably ten years ago maybe, and I remember
- 33:39Speaker 1: she said to me this, Tiffany, ignore the naysayers on everything.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Anything fresh and innovative makes them uncomfortable, and their intentional
- 33:50Speaker 1: job is to clip your wings. And do you know
- 33:54Speaker 1: how many times a week I think through that? Because
- 33:57Speaker 1: we're in a crazy world right now, people, keyboard warriors,
- 34:01Speaker 1: you know, we'll comment not so great things on social
- 34:04Speaker 1: media to people. You know, the world's just all over
- 34:07Speaker 1: the place right now. There's all these things happening, So
- 34:11Speaker 1: just always remember ignore the naysayers and just focus in
- 34:16Speaker 1: and know that if they're saying something about you or
- 34:20Speaker 1: your business or your product, it's because they're trying to
- 34:23Speaker 1: clip your wings.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I love that. I love that. So thank you again
- 34:28Speaker 2: for coming and kicking with me. Thank you guys for
- 34:30Speaker 2: tuning in to another episode of kicking in with Kiki, Life, love,
- 34:33Speaker 2: and all that other shit. Until next time, make sure
- 34:36Speaker 2: that you stay away from those naysayers. Speak life over yourself,
- 34:41Speaker 2: do what makes you happy, love life, live it to
- 34:44Speaker 2: the fullest of your ability, and everything else will flow.
- 34:47Speaker 2: So you guys, be blessed and purple hoods.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Chick in it with Ki
