- 0:02Speaker 1: Do you wash clothes that you you know, you buy
- 0:06Speaker 1: from Target or packs on or wherever? Do you wash
- 0:09Speaker 1: those clothes before you wear them out? Seven oh one
- 0:12Speaker 1: two eight zero one nine eight seven. And you know what, Angie,
- 0:16Speaker 1: I bet I had counted I don't know upwards of
- 0:21Speaker 1: thirty eight liars on Facebook.
- 0:23Speaker 2: What it's It's incredible liars. How what did they say?
- 0:28Speaker 1: I always wash every article of clothing I've ever bought
- 0:32Speaker 1: before wearing it out.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Get out of here.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I feel like that's really a.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Lot's a lie.
- 0:38Speaker 4: Let me be the first to say, I'm Angie, I'm disgusting.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I do not wash most of the things.
- 0:45Speaker 4: There are two things that I do wash before I
- 0:49Speaker 4: put them on, and that's underwear and.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Prause I don't. I couldn't care less.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Well, you're does your underwear come in a package?
- 0:56Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:57Speaker 4: My underwear comes from Victoria's Secret, so it's all been
- 1:00Speaker 4: laid out and people have been manhandling it trying to Yeah. Okay,
- 1:04Speaker 4: so I wash that, But everything else, No, No, I
- 1:08Speaker 4: do wash it.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I do wash the kid's cloth.
- 1:10Speaker 4: The other thing is I don't like wash instructions for
- 1:16Speaker 4: clothes for adults like sometimes you have to be more
- 1:19Speaker 4: delicate than I don't want to deal with all that
- 1:21Speaker 4: before I even wear it the first time.
- 1:22Speaker 2: So no, I don't wash it for the kids clothes,
- 1:25Speaker 2: which is more.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Basic, just because sometimes my kids have reactions with their
- 1:29Speaker 4: like skin, I will throw their clothes in the wash
- 1:33Speaker 4: or run it through first. But for me personally, I'm disgusting,
- 1:36Speaker 4: and no I do not.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't either. Les Here's what I will say.
- 1:40Speaker 1: If I get like a flannel from a thrift store,
- 1:43Speaker 1: that I'll wash for sure. But if this is a
- 1:46Speaker 1: brand new shirt hanging on the racket coals, I'll wear
- 1:51Speaker 1: that out of the building.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah, me too.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I couldn't care to gross.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we're disgusting, but I feel like I'm okay with that.
- 1:59Speaker 3: This just so funny.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Is there anybody on Facebook that admitted that they're a
- 2:03Speaker 4: little gross?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Well, I really like what Leely said. This was pretty funny.
- 2:08Speaker 1: She said, we're supposed to buy new clothes I've been wearing. Well,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm assuming she meant she's been wearing hand me downs
- 2:17Speaker 1: her whole life. I couldn't exactly understand what she was
- 2:19Speaker 1: trying to say, but I think she's been wearing hand
- 2:21Speaker 1: me downs her whole life. And you know what, sometimes
- 2:24Speaker 1: the kiddos can grow so fast that those hand me
- 2:26Speaker 1: downs also get worn out.
- 2:27Speaker 2: So yeah, that great.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah. I like John.
- 2:30Speaker 1: John's an honest man, one hundred percent wear it right
- 2:32Speaker 1: off the shelf.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I respect it, John, You're one of us.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Everyone else.
- 2:38Speaker 1: My favorite comments are the oh, of course, that's so obvious.
- 2:42Speaker 3: No it's not.
- 2:43Speaker 2: No, it's not right. No, it's not obvious.
- 2:46Speaker 4: And you know why, even when I go to look
- 2:47Speaker 4: for clothes and you try on clothes in the dressing room, right,
- 2:52Speaker 4: I feel like it's pretty obvious when you're grabbing something
- 2:54Speaker 4: if it looks like it's been worn out in the store,
- 2:58Speaker 4: and if it does, I just go back to the
- 3:00Speaker 4: rack and like find one that doesn't look worn out.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 1: See, I like Cynthia. Cynthia was an honest person on Facebook.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I wear right away because washing can fade them already.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And I don't dry half my clothes anyway, do a
- 3:12Speaker 1: little are also don't dry.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I hang all my clothes.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, who wants to be honest with
- 3:18Speaker 1: us this morning? And who wants to lie? Seven oh
- 3:20Speaker 1: one two eight zero one to nine eight seven I'm
- 3:23Speaker 1: not saying, like, you know, maybe.
- 3:25Speaker 3: You wash most of or some of or whatever, but
- 3:28Speaker 3: I always do.
- 3:30Speaker 1: This is a load of garbage plus little victories for
- 3:38Speaker 1: you right now as we practice gratitude every single day
- 3:42Speaker 1: here on Big ninety eight point seven. It's just the
- 3:44Speaker 1: little things that can really make or break your day.
- 3:47Speaker 2: That's right.
- 3:48Speaker 4: If you ever have something you want to share with
- 3:49Speaker 4: us seven oh one to two eight o one nine
- 3:51Speaker 4: eight seven, a little victory that just put a pep
- 3:54Speaker 4: in your step, we want to hear about it.
- 3:56Speaker 3: A little victory can go a long way, that's right.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Well, gave my little victory is that I got a
- 4:05Speaker 4: full night's sleep. I know that that is simple, but
- 4:09Speaker 4: I have had struggles getting to bed, like from like
- 4:14Speaker 4: Sunday to whatever yesterday was, and I'm finally I'm good.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'm well rested.
- 4:20Speaker 4: I feel like a normal human woman, and that's very
- 4:23Speaker 4: important to me.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I think it's incredible, the idea of getting a good
- 4:27Speaker 1: night's sleep. It's kind of like the idea of you know,
- 4:30Speaker 1: if you want to lose weight, right, The idea of
- 4:32Speaker 1: losing weight is very simple, more calories out than calories in, right,
- 4:37Speaker 1: but actually getting it done a lot harder said than done.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Exactly the same thing for getting a good night sleep.
- 4:43Speaker 1: You know how many people are gonna wake up tired today?
- 4:45Speaker 1: I would bet over half. Yeah, of all of us
- 4:49Speaker 1: are waking up tired today, and it's all our own
- 4:52Speaker 1: doing most of the time.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Honestly, it was a miracle that I fell asleep.
- 4:57Speaker 4: It's just my mind is always racing at night, right,
- 5:00Speaker 4: It's like, how do I turn that off?
- 5:01Speaker 3: I've seen the Harry Potter books.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Oh, that's what you do.
- 5:04Speaker 1: That guy listened to like audio books that I've either
- 5:08Speaker 1: heard or I'm not like crazy super interested in.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I should try it.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I should try that.
- 5:14Speaker 4: But I think yesterday my brain was like, girl, I'm
- 5:17Speaker 4: as tired as you are.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And then I passed out. It was wonderful.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I'm very happy for you. That is a wonderful, wonderful feeling.
- 5:24Speaker 2: What about you, Gabe, what's your little victory?
- 5:26Speaker 3: Do you remember?
- 5:27Speaker 1: It was a handful of weeks ago there was the
- 5:30Speaker 1: meat truck over in Morehead. Yes, so I bought some
- 5:35Speaker 1: of the meat from there and we've used it, you.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Know, here and there whatever.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yesterday busted out some steaks and we used it to
- 5:43Speaker 1: make and I did everything, all of the cooking, no
- 5:47Speaker 1: help from Corey. None was done by her. You know
- 5:50Speaker 1: what her job was. She got to be the dishes
- 5:52Speaker 1: hero yesterday.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Oh nice.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And I did everything by myself, which I was very
- 5:57Speaker 1: proud of. We used the steaks, you know, cut them
- 5:59Speaker 1: up and kind of did our own chipotleke qu Doba bowls.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I think that is the perfect way to use so fire.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Let me tell you, chef boy aar glitten. Last night
- 6:10Speaker 3: was cheffin' Okay.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Did you bring leftovers today for lunch?
- 6:15Speaker 5: No?
- 6:15Speaker 3: I did not bring leftovers because there aren't any. We
- 6:18Speaker 3: house this up.
- 6:19Speaker 1: There is some leftover like rice and all that, but yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 1: the steaks are gone.
- 6:24Speaker 3: We used them all. But it was very It was
- 6:26Speaker 3: just fun.
- 6:26Speaker 1: It was like, you know, the first day of fall,
- 6:28Speaker 1: or one of the first handful of days of fall.
- 6:30Speaker 1: The weather was great, it wasn't too hot, you know,
- 6:32Speaker 1: as I'm grilling these things, playing fetch with the dog
- 6:35Speaker 1: in the backyard, just by myself because I wanted it
- 6:37Speaker 1: to be done by the time Corey got home at
- 6:40Speaker 1: four point thirty. So I just enjoyed making the entire
- 6:44Speaker 1: meal yesterday solo, no help from my wife except the
- 6:47Speaker 1: panic of wait, what do I need to do for
- 6:49Speaker 1: this part on the phone when she was on the
- 6:50Speaker 1: way home.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Oh well, I love that, and you sound like a
- 6:54Speaker 2: real good husband right now.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I tried my best, I tell you, all right, that
- 7:04Speaker 1: age old question, Angie, mm when it comes to dudes,
- 7:09Speaker 1: and obviously I know you have a very loving boyfriend. Yes,
- 7:13Speaker 1: do you prefer dude's hat or no hat? And I
- 7:17Speaker 1: know that there is a huge umbrella to that question.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Right What are you doing? What are you at an event?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Are you at whatever? Are you wearing a suit? YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Just in general, when you are out and abouts at
- 7:29Speaker 1: like target, Yeah, all right, and you see a fella
- 7:32Speaker 1: he's got a hat on. Are you in or out?
- 7:36Speaker 1: Is that a ya or a nay? A thumb's up
- 7:38Speaker 1: or a thumb's down?
- 7:39Speaker 2: You know what?
- 7:40Speaker 4: In general, my knee jerk is I think I'm being
- 7:43Speaker 4: hat fished. Okay, what's that where someone is wearing a
- 7:47Speaker 4: hat to give the illusion that maybe there's hair under there,
- 7:50Speaker 4: but there's not, and the person is bald. Now, I
- 7:54Speaker 4: don't think there's anything wrong with being bald. I think
- 7:57Speaker 4: there's something wrong with trying to act like you're no sure.
- 8:01Speaker 4: I feel like if you're bald, just like be bald,
- 8:03Speaker 4: but like be fully bald, because then there's the people
- 8:06Speaker 4: with like the Cold de Sac haircut, and it's like what.
- 8:09Speaker 3: I call that.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say that here on Big ninety eight
- 8:12Speaker 1: point seven. If you want to know, I will tell
- 8:15Speaker 1: you what it is, but you have to text me.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah seven oh one two eight zero one nine
- 8:19Speaker 1: eight seven. Yeah, I'm I have wondered this before. Are
- 8:23Speaker 1: ladies into the hats? Because you hear like the ladies right,
- 8:27Speaker 1: they're into maybe the gray sweatpants.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Absolutely, oh my gosh, the season is upon us.
- 8:32Speaker 3: The T shirt yeah, and the backwards hat or what
- 8:34Speaker 3: have you.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Yeah, And I posted this question I wanted to know
- 8:38Speaker 1: ladies guys with hats?
- 8:39Speaker 3: Yeah, your name because for me, I like a lady in.
- 8:42Speaker 2: A hat and she really she's.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Got you know, like a big cowboy puffy hat or
- 8:47Speaker 1: something like that, or she's got some tiny hair, if
- 8:49Speaker 1: she's got like a snap back on or something that
- 8:53Speaker 1: would when Corey has got her she has this camouflage
- 8:56Speaker 1: hat she wears forward sometimes when she has that hat on,
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 8:59Speaker 3: What it is.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Is there something like just sporty and sexy about it,
- 9:03Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I love that.
- 9:04Speaker 4: I think there are guys that do look good in hats.
- 9:07Speaker 4: I think you look good in a hat.
- 9:09Speaker 3: I did.
- 9:09Speaker 4: I was surprised when you took it off and you
- 9:11Speaker 4: have a full head of hair.
- 9:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a solid head of hair.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Yes, you really do.
- 9:16Speaker 4: But that goes to I think I've been tricked too
- 9:18Speaker 4: many times that then when the hat comes off and
- 9:20Speaker 4: there is hair, I'm like, wait a minute, And then
- 9:22Speaker 4: I think, why aren't you just like showing off your hair?
- 9:25Speaker 4: Here's what I'll say. Back in the early two thousands,
- 9:30Speaker 4: Jason Maraz and Neo started something that I've been bitter
- 9:35Speaker 4: about for years.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Okay, the fedora.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Do you know how few people in this life can
- 9:42Speaker 4: wear a fedora and not look like a joke. I
- 9:47Speaker 4: am so mad at Jason Maraz and Neo because they're
- 9:51Speaker 4: musical artists and they get away with wearing a lot
- 9:54Speaker 4: of stuff that probably shouldn't be worn. Yeah, but then
- 9:57Speaker 4: guys saw that and thought, oh, should I be wearing
- 9:59Speaker 4: a The answer is no. The answer was no. Then
- 10:02Speaker 4: the answer is no. Now no, you do not wear fedora?
- 10:06Speaker 3: You know, does look good in a Fedora.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I think is a dude is James Bay He pulls
- 10:10Speaker 1: off a Fedora hat very well?
- 10:13Speaker 4: Is he a musical artist? Of course, exactly. Regular folk
- 10:17Speaker 4: can't be wearing Fedora. Get that out of your system.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Well, I like what Sharon said on Facebook Here, Sharon
- 10:23Speaker 1: is kind of along the lines of with you. So
- 10:25Speaker 1: if you are a dude in listening and you go, oh,
- 10:26Speaker 1: should I wear a hat to this event? Should I
- 10:28Speaker 1: not wear a hat to this event? Sharon said, well,
- 10:31Speaker 1: it depends. She has more to say. If the guy
- 10:36Speaker 1: is wearing a hat to cover a receding hairline, maybe
- 10:40Speaker 1: not so much. But if he takes that hat off
- 10:42Speaker 1: and a full head of hair, oh mama. She also said,
- 10:47Speaker 1: so for those guys that are going bald, just shave
- 10:49Speaker 1: it off. I feel like a guy that is confident
- 10:51Speaker 1: with a bald head is super sexy.
- 10:54Speaker 4: That's right, mister clean sexy. Bruce willis sexy. Like just
- 10:58Speaker 4: rock the bald head. You don't need a hat to
- 11:01Speaker 4: be hot. But I will say, Gabe, you look very
- 11:04Speaker 4: handsome in a half.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I appreciate you, and I kind of wear it as
- 11:07Speaker 1: like a purse. It's like an accessory.
- 11:15Speaker 4: This is am I the problem? Where you send us
- 11:17Speaker 4: your side of the story and we help you figure
- 11:20Speaker 4: out if you're right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 11:23Speaker 4: I Amber wrote into us, and this is more of
- 11:26Speaker 4: an advice thing than anything else, but it falls into
- 11:29Speaker 4: the same umbrella.
- 11:30Speaker 2: So we're gonna help her out.
- 11:31Speaker 3: That's right, she wrote.
- 11:32Speaker 4: To us, Hey, Big ninety eight point seven Morning Show,
- 11:35Speaker 4: I could use your help. My bestie and I have
- 11:37Speaker 4: been attached at the hip forever, but lately I feel
- 11:39Speaker 4: like we're butting heads over something kind of small.
- 11:42Speaker 2: But it's bugging me.
- 11:44Speaker 4: Whenever we hang out, she's on her phone constantly scrolling, texting, TikTok,
- 11:49Speaker 4: you name it. And I get that we all live
- 11:51Speaker 4: on our phones, but sometimes I feel like I'm just
- 11:54Speaker 4: sitting there while she's hanging out with everyone online instead
- 11:58Speaker 4: of me. I've dropped a couple of hands and even
- 12:00Speaker 4: joked about it, but nothing changes. Do I bring it
- 12:04Speaker 4: up seriously and risk sounding petty or just let it
- 12:07Speaker 4: slide because it's normal now, Amber, I think you're missing
- 12:13Speaker 4: an opportunity to meet her where she's at. That's what
- 12:16Speaker 4: you always hear, like, meet people where they're at. If
- 12:18Speaker 4: she's a chronically online. Broad Well, here's what you gotta do.
- 12:22Speaker 4: You get on your phone and you start sending memes
- 12:25Speaker 4: to her in real time, and then you guys can
- 12:29Speaker 4: discuss the memes in person and laugh and joke, and
- 12:33Speaker 4: that way it's the best of both worlds. Call her
- 12:36Speaker 4: Miley Cyrus because her Hannah Montana the best of both worlds.
- 12:40Speaker 2: God, I thank you.
- 12:43Speaker 4: But yeah, so that way you can be online but
- 12:46Speaker 4: still talking to her, and then maybe as you're doing that,
- 12:51Speaker 4: then slide in that you know, hey, this is great,
- 12:55Speaker 4: but like sometimes I just miss when we're just like
- 12:57Speaker 4: talking just me and you. But first meet her where
- 12:59Speaker 4: she is that and then slip in that you don't
- 13:02Speaker 4: love that she's chronically online.
- 13:04Speaker 2: What do you think, Gabe?
- 13:06Speaker 1: I think Amber, what you need to do is take
- 13:09Speaker 1: this to an extreme, extreme, over the top level. Okay,
- 13:14Speaker 1: you get her mother, her father, her siblings, all of
- 13:18Speaker 1: your other closest friends, and what you do is when
- 13:21Speaker 1: she goes to work and comes back home, you all
- 13:23Speaker 1: are sitting in a room a La intervention style. Okay,
- 13:27Speaker 1: what you do is say, hey, we understand that this
- 13:30Speaker 1: addiction is a problem. Wow, you go way overboard with it.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So ay, It's funny, but be kind of embarrassing that
- 13:41Speaker 1: we can't hang out with you without you being on
- 13:43Speaker 1: your phone. That would, I think get your point across.
- 13:46Speaker 1: And also you played off as a big giant joke.
- 13:48Speaker 1: If all my friends got together and said, Gabe, you
- 13:51Speaker 1: are scrolling on YouTube, Instagram, whatever while we're trying to
- 13:54Speaker 1: hang out with you and enjoy each other's time, I
- 13:57Speaker 1: would throw my phone in the red river.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Be gone, it begone? What do you think?
- 14:01Speaker 4: Seven oh one two, eight oh one, nine eighty seven.
- 14:04Speaker 4: We also posted this on Facebook. What are your thoughts?
- 14:07Speaker 4: Amber's best friend can't put her phone down when they
- 14:10Speaker 4: hang out.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Is it petty for Amber to bring it up? Or
- 14:12Speaker 2: is it fair game?
- 14:18Speaker 4: The Amber wrote in saying her bestie is glued to
- 14:21Speaker 4: her phone every time they hang out, scrolling, texting TikTok.
- 14:25Speaker 4: She's torn on whether to call her out and risk
- 14:28Speaker 4: sounding petty.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Or she should just let it go.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Since being on your phone is so normal now, I
- 14:35Speaker 4: think she should just get on the phone right there
- 14:37Speaker 4: with her and just they can both be, you know,
- 14:41Speaker 4: legs crossed over each others and then just on their
- 14:43Speaker 4: phone sending memes back and forth. And then they can
- 14:47Speaker 4: laugh and joke about the memes together there. Yeah, I
- 14:49Speaker 4: think she should meet her friend where she's at, Gabe, what.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Was I think she should go way overboard and schedule
- 14:57Speaker 1: a very real intervention with her friends and family, and
- 15:03Speaker 1: then you always have that to fall back on as
- 15:05Speaker 1: like a joke, because this lady's clearly addicted to her phone.
- 15:07Speaker 1: If my friends did that to me, I'd be so
- 15:09Speaker 1: embarrassed that I'd go back to like a nochia brick phone.
- 15:14Speaker 4: We posted this on the Facebook page too, Gabe, what
- 15:18Speaker 4: we got on there?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Ashley said, text her and tell her you're lonely while
- 15:23Speaker 1: you're hanging out.
- 15:24Speaker 3: That's actually pretty good.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Oh that's good. That's like passive aggressive and cute.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:28Speaker 1: If it doesn't change, maybe limit the time you spend
- 15:31Speaker 1: with her, which is sad. You know, when you think
- 15:33Speaker 1: of breaking up a lot of people think of breaking
- 15:35Speaker 1: up with like a significant other. Sometimes you got to
- 15:38Speaker 1: break up with your friends or start distancing yourself a
- 15:41Speaker 1: little bit, and that can be, you know, just as hard,
- 15:43Speaker 1: if not hard.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I think it's worse. I think of breakup with a
- 15:46Speaker 2: friend is worse.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I don't know if I've ever broken up with a friend.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Nothing I can leave, not that I can think of
- 15:52Speaker 1: off the top of my head.
- 15:53Speaker 2: So I can think of a few people i'd like
- 15:55Speaker 2: you to break it up with.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Who I can't.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Let's say it on air. Have you lost your mind?
- 16:02Speaker 3: All right? I think in general? This one was from Gabrielle.
- 16:08Speaker 1: She said, I think in general people should be more
- 16:11Speaker 1: present with hanging out with friends in person. Why even
- 16:15Speaker 1: hang out if you're just gonna be on your phone.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I think you should bring it up politely and even
- 16:20Speaker 1: even suggest if you go out to eat or something,
- 16:23Speaker 1: that phone stay in your purses so you can be
- 16:25Speaker 1: present in the moment. If she doesn't change, maybe it's
- 16:29Speaker 1: time to just communicate online and not meet up in person.
- 16:33Speaker 1: That sounds terrible, but it also sounds like she's wasting
- 16:35Speaker 1: your time by sitting there doing nothing while she scrolls.
- 16:38Speaker 1: You could also do the old like out to dinner thing.
- 16:40Speaker 1: The first one to touch their phone has to pay
- 16:42Speaker 1: for both meals.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, Amber will have free food for life.
- 16:46Speaker 1: You can't cut this friend off, then keep her in
- 16:48Speaker 1: your life. Do you find yourself to be a bit
- 16:55Speaker 1: of a thrill seeker?
- 16:57Speaker 3: Angie?
- 16:58Speaker 2: No, No, I could not be further from a thrill seeker.
- 17:04Speaker 4: I like to feel calm and like everything is just
- 17:08Speaker 4: okay and chill. I don't need the I feel like
- 17:11Speaker 4: I'm an anxious person in general, and I don't need
- 17:14Speaker 4: anything to spike my heart rate even more.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Yeah. See, you know I love me a good roller coaster.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Love roller coaster.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Oh, I do like roller coasters, you know, I don't.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I'm not necessarily like afraid of heights, which does make
- 17:25Speaker 1: what I'm about to say a little bit contradictory. But
- 17:27Speaker 1: I think it's more of my fear of the open water.
- 17:31Speaker 1: My mother and my sister were on this vacation together
- 17:34Speaker 1: and they did something I could never do, which is
- 17:40Speaker 1: they went parasailing. You know, the the it's like the
- 17:43Speaker 1: ballot not the balloon, but parachute. Parachute thank you that
- 17:47Speaker 1: you go up and they tug you behind the boat.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Oh but you're up in the air.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Behind long extended rope. Oh yeah, I could never do that.
- 18:00Speaker 1: It's not necessarily being up high that would terrify me.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I just do not like the open water like that.
- 18:05Speaker 1: If I get on a lake that is too big
- 18:08Speaker 1: and I can't see the other side, yeah, it makes
- 18:11Speaker 1: me uncomfortable, get freaked out, Like, I don't know if
- 18:14Speaker 1: I could ever do a cruise really well, because those
- 18:16Speaker 1: ships are so big they basically have cities built on them.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I mean maybe, but I do not like the open
- 18:22Speaker 3: water like.
- 18:22Speaker 2: That, So parasailing is not your jam.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Have you ever seen Jurassic Park three, because literally there's
- 18:27Speaker 4: a father and son who like get into a parasailing accident.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Really, yeah, I'm out on that.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Is there one of those thrill seeking activities you would
- 18:38Speaker 1: never do or is it basically all of them?
- 18:40Speaker 4: No? I like roller coasters, I feel like that's fine,
- 18:43Speaker 4: but I like anything out in nature where you're doing
- 18:47Speaker 4: too much. Like I'm gonna go camping for the first
- 18:49Speaker 4: time this weekend. But what I would never do is
- 18:52Speaker 4: go spelunking. Do you know what spelunking is?
- 18:56Speaker 3: Maybe when you tell me.
- 18:57Speaker 4: Okay, it's when you essentially when you go exploring caves
- 19:01Speaker 4: and a lot of times, like to splunk, you have
- 19:03Speaker 4: to go like these like underground caves.
- 19:06Speaker 3: And crawl in the things.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yes, people are like this is so exciting. No, it's
- 19:12Speaker 2: in a cave. It was not meant for you to see.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Yeah, there's nothing in this little you know, one foot
- 19:18Speaker 1: by one foot square hole. There's nothing in there that
- 19:22Speaker 1: I care about. Yeah, me either, never gonna happen.
- 19:25Speaker 4: But it's so thrilling, because why no, I don't need
- 19:28Speaker 4: that thrill in my life at all?
- 19:30Speaker 3: Ye all right?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven
- 19:34Speaker 1: was like a thrill seeking activity that you just couldn't do,
- 19:38Speaker 1: even though it might seem fun.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Joe Lane is on the phone.
- 19:41Speaker 5: I've been on cruises where everyone's lining up for parasailing
- 19:45Speaker 5: and I'm the only one at the pool bar. You
- 19:47Speaker 5: want me strapped into a parachute, dragged behind a boat
- 19:50Speaker 5: with what looks like glorified shoe.
- 19:54Speaker 3: That's a hard past, that is perfect.
- 19:56Speaker 1: See, Joe Lean is a lady after my own heart.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Right now, parasailing would do it for me. Okay, what
- 20:00Speaker 1: about Calvin?
- 20:02Speaker 6: I know everybody loves them, but I just can't get
- 20:04Speaker 6: myself to go on roller coasters. I know they're fun,
- 20:07Speaker 6: but I always imagine the worst kind of accident with
- 20:10Speaker 6: those things, and I just can't bring myself to get
- 20:13Speaker 6: on one.
- 20:14Speaker 2: You know what, you gotta get them, they're fun.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I think about roller coasters is like if there's gonna
- 20:19Speaker 1: be an accident mm hmm, Like it's probably gonna take
- 20:22Speaker 1: you out, all right, So it's just whatever to me. O,
- 20:26Speaker 1: my god, to me, it's like getting stuck. That is
- 20:28Speaker 1: more of the scary actual roller coaster, yeah, than it.
- 20:32Speaker 2: De railing and then it's the end.
- 20:35Speaker 5: You know.
- 20:35Speaker 4: What I have unlocked A new fear though, is that
- 20:39Speaker 4: this is why I don't think we were meant to
- 20:40Speaker 4: have so much access to information, because.
- 20:45Speaker 2: The roller coasters where people.
- 20:46Speaker 4: I saw a girl get hit well back in the day,
- 20:49Speaker 4: Fabio got hit in the face by a bird on
- 20:51Speaker 4: a roller coaster, and there was another girl who was
- 20:54Speaker 4: on some sort of a roller coaster type ride and
- 20:56Speaker 4: like a pigeon.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't that it's.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Because I'm scared that I cannot.
- 21:07Speaker 1: What started as a fall bucket list activity has turned
- 21:11Speaker 1: into a record breaking attraction. The Great Straw Maze in
- 21:16Speaker 1: the West Acres parking Lot has swapped straw bales for
- 21:20Speaker 1: over one thousand white cedar wooden panels, creating more durable,
- 21:24Speaker 1: allergy friendly maze that aims to set a new Guinness
- 21:29Speaker 1: World Record. Owner Kathy Johnson, she said the shift from
- 21:32Speaker 1: the straw bales to the cedar planks was due to
- 21:34Speaker 1: concerns about waste, cost and durability the cedar panels they
- 21:39Speaker 1: offer a long lasting solution, addressing the issues of weather
- 21:44Speaker 1: related damage and the wastefulness of the straw bills at
- 21:47Speaker 1: the end of each season. She said straw was costing
- 21:50Speaker 1: me sixty five thousand dollars every year. At the end
- 21:53Speaker 1: of the season, I'm thirty two semi loads of waste.
- 21:57Speaker 3: She said.
- 21:58Speaker 1: The wood panel maze now is roughly the same cost,
- 22:01Speaker 1: but with cedar I own it, it'll last me twenty years.
- 22:06Speaker 1: The Great Maze is also vying for the title of
- 22:09Speaker 1: the world's largest cedar plank maze, as it's nearly three
- 22:13Speaker 1: point five times larger than the current record holder, which
- 22:17Speaker 1: is in Denmark. So there is a world record breaking
- 22:22Speaker 1: I guess you call it Maze West Acres Parking Lot.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Angie. You and I have done the maze.
- 22:27Speaker 1: We completed it with our significant others and your kids,
- 22:31Speaker 1: and it was so much fun to check out. Pretty
- 22:33Speaker 1: cool to say we've done a world record maze. If
- 22:37Speaker 1: you're listening right now, you could get that done too.
- 22:40Speaker 4: And by the way, on Tuesdays they're dog friendly, so
- 22:43Speaker 4: you can bring your pupper.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah, next week if you want to. Yeah, yep, the
- 22:47Speaker 2: Great Maze.
- 22:48Speaker 1: It covers about forty seven eight hundred square feet in
- 22:52Speaker 1: the parking lot at West Acres with one point three
- 22:55Speaker 1: five miles of winding paths, which beats the pre vi
- 23:00Speaker 1: record holder by nearly fourteen thousand square feed. So very
- 23:03Speaker 1: exciting and a very cool, a record breaking thing we
- 23:06Speaker 1: have right here in Fargo right now that if you
- 23:09Speaker 1: wanted to check out, you totally could.
- 23:10Speaker 4: I feel like I want to go back and try
- 23:13Speaker 4: to beat like the record. Yeah, because we got out
- 23:16Speaker 4: of there in thirty seven minutes. You and I have
- 23:18Speaker 4: thirty seven and some change, and the record so far
- 23:22Speaker 4: at that point was twenty nine minutes and something. So
- 23:25Speaker 4: I wonder A what the record is now and B
- 23:28Speaker 4: if we could if we can do it?
- 23:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean maybe, I don't know if it will
- 23:32Speaker 1: count though. Do you have to do the record on
- 23:33Speaker 1: your first shot?
- 23:35Speaker 4: I don't know, but I don't have a sense of direction,
- 23:37Speaker 4: so it'd be brand new to me again anyway.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Well, the world is full of nice people. If you
- 23:42Speaker 1: can't find one, you gotta be one. You could also
- 23:44Speaker 1: go see a world record holder today at the West
- 23:47Speaker 1: Acres Mall
