- 0:18Speaker 1: On the day and you bailed, you still owe her money.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Judge Ross is here to let him know.
- 0:23Speaker 3: And if your girls cocoa puffs without asking.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Can she see you? Or is she just cuckoo? Real people?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Thank Justice.
- 0:31Speaker 1: This is Joab.
- 0:34Speaker 3: I'm cuckoo, cuokes, cuckoo, foll coca puffs, cuckoo, poor cook
- 0:40Speaker 3: a puff.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Hello, everybody, welcome boy back in the chambers. We sure are.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No robes were robless. We're still wearing close still are
- 0:49Speaker 1: if you're listening, we have clothes.
- 0:51Speaker 4: It's casual Friday.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It's just nice. Where are we going today? I'm going
- 0:59Speaker 1: to America. His court is not sure what about you.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I'm going into the People's court, the People's court. Judge Maybelene,
- 1:08Speaker 1: maybe it's maybel maybe it's Judge Million.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I do it every time, every solitary time. So mine's
- 1:17Speaker 3: not very fun. It's not as fun as the good case.
- 1:21Speaker 3: It's an interesting case. It's not like funny. You want
- 1:26Speaker 3: to just hit me with it, all right?
- 1:27Speaker 1: All right, all right, all right, so we're at the
- 1:30Speaker 1: people's court. H Chaniel Barnett is okay what Chaniel Barnett.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Shaneiel Barnett is suing the Kwan butler for one thousand
- 1:42Speaker 3: seven dollars wow, okay, one zero.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So here's the story. Okay, are you ready?
- 1:50Speaker 4: I'm ready, I'm ready.
- 1:51Speaker 1: It's the fourth of July and Shanil is heading back
- 1:55Speaker 1: home after a night on the town with her friend,
- 1:59Speaker 1: her girl girlfriend, and she saw the Kwan sleeping on
- 2:05Speaker 1: the apartment stairs outside.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I never seen them before. Her never never met
- 2:11Speaker 3: him before, got it. Her friend wakes them up. She's like,
- 2:14Speaker 3: I'm not very nice. My friend's nice. She likes to
- 2:17Speaker 3: start conversation with people and just like talk to them.
- 2:19Speaker 3: That's not my deal.
- 2:20Speaker 1: But uh so, uh wakes them up and it's like,
- 2:23Speaker 1: what are you doing here? What's going on here?
- 2:25Speaker 3: He's like, I live here, and I'm like, no, you don't.
- 2:28Speaker 3: I've never seen you before.
- 2:29Speaker 1: She's like why.
- 2:30Speaker 3: He's like, I live with my grandpa, but no one's
- 2:33Speaker 3: answering the door, so I just decided to sleep sleep here.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So they start talking some more.
- 2:39Speaker 3: They're having a good time, you know, getting to know
- 2:42Speaker 3: each other and whatnot. So uh, Chaneil is going to
- 2:47Speaker 3: walk her friend to the train station and he's like,
- 2:52Speaker 3: I'll join you.
- 2:52Speaker 1: This will be fun.
- 2:54Speaker 3: So they all go and then the two of them,
- 2:56Speaker 3: after dropping the friend off at the train station, come
- 2:59Speaker 3: back and she's like, Hey, you don't need to sleep
- 3:02Speaker 3: on the stairs.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Come on up, you can sleep at my place.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Okay, that was very kind of her, and beyond, above
- 3:10Speaker 3: and beyond, and they start to, you know, build a
- 3:11Speaker 3: little friendship and whatnot. A couple of days later, his
- 3:15Speaker 3: mom comes out of his grandpa's place and it's like,
- 3:19Speaker 3: I'm heading back to North Carolina, and so Shanil's like,
- 3:23Speaker 3: are you going to go back to North Carolina with her?
- 3:25Speaker 1: And he's like, I don't know. I don't really know.
- 3:28Speaker 3: My grandpa's kind of being weird about me staying with
- 3:30Speaker 3: him and all that stuff. And so Judge asks de
- 3:34Speaker 3: Kwan about his living arrangement, what's the deal here, because
- 3:38Speaker 3: you're sleeping on the stairs, your grandpa's being weird and
- 3:42Speaker 3: he says, so the night that I was sleeping on
- 3:45Speaker 3: the stairs, I had actually just gotten out of prison.
- 3:47Speaker 4: Oh okay, I.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Had been in prison for six years.
- 3:50Speaker 3: For stabbing someone and he claims it was self defense.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Who's to say, I'm not. That's Judge's job. So Chanil
- 4:02Speaker 3: offers her place until he figures it out. She's like,
- 4:08Speaker 3: he wanted to get his uh gud, he wants to
- 4:11Speaker 3: get a job.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I'll help you do that.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I know just the nicest person, so I'll be honest.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Chanil is I I feel like she's fine.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Everything she's saying is like, you seem like you've got
- 4:28Speaker 3: your act together. You may be a little bit naive,
- 4:30Speaker 3: but you seem nice. But Judge is like really rude
- 4:33Speaker 3: to her, like just not just like not, she's just
- 4:38Speaker 3: like really thinks that she's stupid. I can't believe that
- 4:42Speaker 3: you would do this. Blah blah blah. Basically, so.
- 4:48Speaker 1: He uh. She gets him some job interview clothes.
- 4:53Speaker 3: And buys him job in and then gets him a
- 4:59Speaker 3: job interview at a security place to be to be security,
- 5:04Speaker 3: and he calls her up and is like, Hey, what
- 5:07Speaker 3: should I wear to the job interview? And she's like
- 5:11Speaker 3: the job interview closed and he's like, no, I think
- 5:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna wear this and it's basically what he's wearing.
- 5:17Speaker 1: So he's like, and what he's wearing.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Is basically what you're wearing right now, a black shirt
- 5:22Speaker 3: with some paints. Actually they're more like like joggers, like joggers.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So very cash. He's very cash in the courtroom, very
- 5:30Speaker 1: cash job interview. But then he just doesn't come to
- 5:32Speaker 1: the job interview.
- 5:33Speaker 4: He just blows it off.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So that's kind of like the start of some problems.
- 5:38Speaker 3: She then is just like trying to figure out ways
- 5:41Speaker 3: to get some extra money.
- 5:43Speaker 4: He's kind of like become her project a little bit.
- 5:46Speaker 3: A little bit of a project situation. She's not trying
- 5:48Speaker 3: to figure out a way to get some extra money
- 5:49Speaker 3: because he's not paying rent, he's not contributing to food
- 5:52Speaker 3: or anything because he doesn't have a job.
- 5:53Speaker 1: It's fresh out of prison.
- 5:55Speaker 3: So she is like, Okay, I've got this CBD weed
- 5:59Speaker 3: that I got after a car accident. I didn't like it.
- 6:03Speaker 3: If you can sell it, then we'll have some extra money.
- 6:06Speaker 3: That'd be wonderful. There's a lot of question about what
- 6:08Speaker 3: the CBD wheat se CBD because he's like, you smoke it,
- 6:13Speaker 3: and Judge Million's like, well, that's just regular weed, and
- 6:17Speaker 3: he's like no, but it's not. It's a whole back
- 6:19Speaker 3: and forth thing CBD weed. Anyway, He's like, I tried it,
- 6:23Speaker 3: I didn't like it. I take it to my friends,
- 6:25Speaker 3: they all try it, they all don't like it. I
- 6:27Speaker 3: tried to sell it, but no one liked it. But
- 6:29Speaker 3: then I come back and none of it's left because
- 6:31Speaker 3: we all try you give.
- 6:33Speaker 1: It away free samples.
- 6:35Speaker 3: So does not sell the weed and actually comes back
- 6:38Speaker 3: empty handed, more so than when he left, and that's unfortunate.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Also, she says, he's just not considerate.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Like I make meals and I don't mind him eating
- 6:51Speaker 3: the meals with me, but like I'll go in in
- 6:55Speaker 3: the morning and all the cocoa puffs will be gone
- 7:00Speaker 3: one thousand and seven dollars for So we're getting to
- 7:02Speaker 3: where most of the money. Some of it is for
- 7:05Speaker 3: cocoa puffs, I don't know the amount, some of it
- 7:07Speaker 3: is for the CBD weed, is for the suit, some
- 7:10Speaker 3: of it's I don't they She never says that she
- 7:12Speaker 3: wants money for the suits, but but I it has
- 7:15Speaker 3: to be some so AnyWho, So, just to just to
- 7:20Speaker 3: talk it through real quick, we got he's staying there
- 7:24Speaker 3: eating her cocoa puffs, not selling the weed, and actually
- 7:27Speaker 3: using the weed not taking the clothes, not taking the
- 7:31Speaker 3: clothes to get a job, not really trying to help,
- 7:34Speaker 3: just take scheuing for all of that.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Basically, yes, but there's one other thing. Okay.
- 7:41Speaker 3: So one night they're having they're having some fun. They're
- 7:46Speaker 3: they're play fighting, is what she says, play fighting, okay,
- 7:50Speaker 3: and he picks her up, throws her on his shoulders.
- 7:54Speaker 3: She's like, put me down, put me down, put me down,
- 7:57Speaker 3: and he rows her down onto the ground a little
- 8:02Speaker 3: bit harder than she was expecting.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And she lands on a professional hair dryer she does hair.
- 8:10Speaker 3: So it's like afessional hair driver was on the ground,
- 8:12Speaker 3: was on the ground of some sort, and so it's confusing, okay,
- 8:19Speaker 3: whether or not like it lay somehow the hairdryer gets shattered, okay,
- 8:24Speaker 3: got it.
- 8:25Speaker 1: So she's like, is this domestic abuse?
- 8:30Speaker 3: And Shanil's like, no, I wouldn't classify it as domestic abuse.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Just threw me down a little bit harder than I
- 8:36Speaker 3: think we anticipate. He's a big he was supposed to
- 8:39Speaker 3: throw me down.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It's like a throw down, a toss down situation. I
- 8:43Speaker 1: don't know. But still during all of this, I don't know.
- 8:47Speaker 3: There's something about Shaneil that I do trust and she
- 8:51Speaker 3: does seem to have a good head on her shoulders,
- 8:54Speaker 3: albeit kind of like naive, like to bring in somebody
- 8:59Speaker 3: that's just out of prison that you don't know at all, like.
- 9:05Speaker 1: In hindsight is very dumb, but like I.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Can see how she got there, Like nice people, I
- 9:12Speaker 3: think kind of stumble into things and then it's like,
- 9:14Speaker 3: uh oh, so I don't.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I still find her to be a trustworthy source, So
- 9:19Speaker 1: I do.
- 9:20Speaker 3: Like when she says that we were playing and he
- 9:22Speaker 3: put me down in a hurt she does strike me
- 9:25Speaker 3: as somebody who if she thought it was domestic abuse,
- 9:28Speaker 3: she would have would said okay. So she brings pictures
- 9:34Speaker 3: of the hair dryer. The hair dryer is basically broken
- 9:37Speaker 3: into two kind of, and part of the piece is shattered.
- 9:40Speaker 3: She's like, why can't you just fix the part that shattered?
- 9:42Speaker 3: And she's like, you can't buy that, you gotta buy
- 9:46Speaker 3: a whole new one. She says that a new hair
- 9:49Speaker 3: dryer like this is gonna cost six hundred and forty
- 9:51Speaker 3: nine dollars. Judge bill Yon says, I look it up.
- 9:54Speaker 3: I can find them for a lot cheaper. Why is
- 9:57Speaker 3: it as much? She's like, that's how much it is
- 9:58Speaker 3: and she's like, no, it's not. They go back and
- 10:00Speaker 3: forth on disk. So one day finally she's had enough
- 10:04Speaker 3: of du kwan and he shows up and all of
- 10:08Speaker 3: this stuff is outside, and so he just moves down
- 10:11Speaker 3: a floor to his grandfather's house. They still see each other.
- 10:14Speaker 3: The judge says, is that awkward that you still see
- 10:17Speaker 3: each other? And da Quan says, nah, I know how
- 10:19Speaker 3: women are. And Judge Million is like, that's an interesting
- 10:23Speaker 3: thing to say to a woman. Judge or form about
- 10:27Speaker 3: the rule. She is ready to rule. Give give her everything,
- 10:30Speaker 3: give her everything, well, I will.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Say, because of the discrepancy and the dryer, maybe a
- 10:35Speaker 2: little bit less than everything.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Nine hundred dollars okay.
- 10:39Speaker 3: She just gives her the amount for the hairdryer that
- 10:42Speaker 3: she finds online, a new hairdryer, the exact models, three
- 10:45Speaker 3: hundred and thirty two dollars. She gives her the three
- 10:48Speaker 3: hundred and thirty two dollars. She says, you don't get
- 10:49Speaker 3: the cocoa puffs. That's just you let him stay with you.
- 10:52Speaker 3: There's no agreement about food and all that stuff. It
- 10:55Speaker 3: was nothing clearly laid out. No food, the weed, whatever,
- 10:58Speaker 3: that is what it is.
- 11:00Speaker 4: So just as I thought, maybe that was just gonna
- 11:03Speaker 4: make her angry.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Now the thing he says, I did too, but she's
- 11:06Speaker 3: she's down to buy the book.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I do feel like she was a little bit too harsh.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Yeah on Chanil.
- 11:14Speaker 3: But he walks out and does a little interview and
- 11:18Speaker 3: he's like, and I don't have a job, not plan
- 11:20Speaker 3: on getting a job.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Things are working out for me. I'm just fine. And
- 11:22Speaker 1: she's just like, I'm not gonna trust people like that again.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Boom goes to Dynamite and goes to don There you go.
- 11:29Speaker 3: So not a fun case, but interesting.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Shut out, chucked on out, checked on out. You want
- 11:36Speaker 1: to welcome yourself back into Judge Rosses more than anything
- 11:39Speaker 1: in the entire world. Let me introduce you to Jeff
- 11:42Speaker 1: al Dean.
- 11:43Speaker 4: Uh not like Jason Aldan.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Not related at all?
- 11:47Speaker 2: More all done, al d I any, Jeff Alden is
- 11:51Speaker 2: suing Greg Toughan for twelve hundred and fourteen dollars for
- 11:56Speaker 2: breach of contract.
- 11:58Speaker 4: All right, twelve dollars.
- 12:00Speaker 1: That's gonna be a tough one.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Jeff is like, Look, I live in Denver.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Every year I host a charity bachelor auction my company
- 12:07Speaker 2: picks a different charity to give to every year. This
- 12:10Speaker 2: year it was for the construction of a mobile housing
- 12:13Speaker 2: center and shower center for the unhoused in Denver.
- 12:16Speaker 3: It's very kind, that's right. I don't necessarily love bachelor auctions.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I think that's weird, but weird in the hurry, and
- 12:22Speaker 3: they do okay good.
- 12:25Speaker 4: We had fourteen.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Different gentlemen of varying ages that women were gonna bid
- 12:30Speaker 2: on for this bachelor auction.
- 12:32Speaker 4: So at this point, Boss Ross is like, let me
- 12:34Speaker 4: hear from you, Greg.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Greg looks like he might be ten years old.
- 12:38Speaker 2: He's got a full suit and tie on, but he
- 12:41Speaker 2: got a babyface. And he's like I moved to Denver
- 12:44Speaker 2: a year ago from Los Angeles. I graduated from University
- 12:46Speaker 2: of Southern cal I'm an accountant. I got a job
- 12:49Speaker 2: in Denver right away. My boss introduced me to Jeff
- 12:52Speaker 2: I love.
- 12:52Speaker 4: To give back.
- 12:53Speaker 2: He promised me that I would get a chance to
- 12:55Speaker 2: network through this and I would even meet maybe some
- 12:58Speaker 2: young women as well. Wow, you know, and and Ross
- 13:01Speaker 2: is like, Okay, and Ross really likes Greg.
- 13:03Speaker 3: He's like, oh, you remind me of one of my kids.
- 13:05Speaker 3: You still look really young. You're only twenty two. Blah
- 13:08Speaker 3: blah blah. You thought I'll participate in this, I'll meet
- 13:10Speaker 3: some new people.
- 13:13Speaker 4: That's great.
- 13:13Speaker 1: This is ross trying to Greg Tough.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And he's like, and women are going to f
- 13:18Speaker 2: I could see how women would find you try it,
- 13:20Speaker 2: Greg Toughen.
- 13:22Speaker 3: So the bachelors aren't like famous, No, just standard Greg dudes.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Show up a regular old Greg Tough, regular old Greg Tough.
- 13:31Speaker 2: So Jeff said, we had we had fourteen bachelor's various ages.
- 13:33Speaker 2: They knew the women in the audience would also be
- 13:36Speaker 2: at various ages as well, and we don't really control
- 13:38Speaker 2: who bins on whom, right, and so Jeff then says
- 13:43Speaker 2: one of the creepiest things of all time, which is
- 13:45Speaker 2: we had something for everybody.
- 13:47Speaker 4: I don't think if you're doing.
- 13:48Speaker 2: That, I don't think if you're doing a celebrity uh
- 13:52Speaker 2: even a celebrity, I don't think you're doing a charity
- 13:55Speaker 2: bachelor auction that that's something you should say.
- 13:59Speaker 1: In your head either one. But he said it.
- 14:02Speaker 2: And basically the rules of this are that if if
- 14:07Speaker 2: a woman wins you in a bit, we had something
- 14:09Speaker 2: for everybody. We had our SCHM Mortgage Board of men
- 14:13Speaker 2: for everyone to choose something. Yeah, basically, if you agreed
- 14:20Speaker 2: when you are part of this, that you will go
- 14:22Speaker 2: on a three and a half hour date with the
- 14:25Speaker 2: winning bidder. Now this is in a written contract that
- 14:29Speaker 2: they have. It's a two hour dinner plus an hour
- 14:32Speaker 2: and a half at this place that's drinks and like
- 14:34Speaker 2: dancing if you want to kind all of that is
- 14:38Speaker 2: included as part of your donation. And he's worked it
- 14:43Speaker 2: out with the restaurants and every right. Yeah, so now
- 14:46Speaker 2: we get to meet Cheryl Vetterer.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Oh, Cheryl's here. There's a woman in the courtroom and
- 14:51Speaker 1: she is.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I don't want to speculate on a woman's age. She
- 14:59Speaker 2: is probably in her Yeah, I would say sixty is
- 15:04Speaker 2: probably about right. She's definitely could be Greg tos mom
- 15:08Speaker 2: some easily easily could be Greg Tufton's probably grandma.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Oh boy, she's had some work done.
- 15:16Speaker 2: She might be upper fifties. But my guests would be
- 15:18Speaker 2: low sixties. And we bring Gil gild Manner.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Would watch.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Uh, yes, you would.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Cheryl comes on up and they're like and Ross is like,
- 15:33Speaker 2: all right, well, miss Vetter, tell me something about yourself.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Tell me you know.
- 15:36Speaker 2: She's like I do like younger men, but just to
- 15:38Speaker 2: hang out with, like just to like as a good
- 15:40Speaker 2: companion for a night out.
- 15:43Speaker 1: One of us buy it. But that's what she says, right.
- 15:46Speaker 3: And she's like, you may find this hard to believe,
- 15:48Speaker 3: and I do because Greg in the courtroom, Greg Toughen
- 15:50Speaker 3: is like a very buttoned up He's.
- 15:52Speaker 2: An accountant, right, He's a twenty two year old accountant.
- 15:56Speaker 2: And Cheryl's like, when Greg was on the stage, he
- 15:58Speaker 2: was so charismatic. He would singing, dancing. He took off
- 16:02Speaker 2: his shirt during the bidding, Wow, and disagree, and and
- 16:09Speaker 2: Ross goes, you Greg USC Accounting, Uh, you took off
- 16:15Speaker 2: your shirt during the bats auction, and he goes, USC
- 16:18Speaker 2: is a party school.
- 16:18Speaker 4: What can I say?
- 16:19Speaker 1: Wow?
- 16:21Speaker 2: And then Ross is like, you're doing a little magic
- 16:23Speaker 2: mic up there, classic class. And then Jeff pops in
- 16:27Speaker 2: and goes he did get the bids really high. The
- 16:29Speaker 2: bids were coming in fast and furious for Greg. He
- 16:31Speaker 2: had his shirt off.
- 16:32Speaker 1: So Cheryl said, look, I bid on a gentleman in
- 16:35Speaker 1: his fifties.
- 16:36Speaker 4: And got out bid. She's older than fifties. Greg came
- 16:40Speaker 4: to the stage and I was just overwhelmed. Also, I
- 16:44Speaker 4: don't like that, I just want.
- 16:46Speaker 3: To have a fun evening. I've done this before. I've
- 16:49Speaker 3: been on young guys, old guys.
- 16:51Speaker 2: All.
- 16:52Speaker 1: We do this every summer or something for everybody.
- 16:55Speaker 4: When you hear it, Ryan's like, what are we doing?
- 17:01Speaker 3: She's like, and then she goes, look, I'm a very
- 17:03Speaker 3: distinguished woman in this community and in the city of Denver.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I'm not going to be accused of inappropriate behavior.
- 17:09Speaker 1: This is all like. She doesn't say all above board.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Everything in front of the propect, but she basically says that.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Jeff says, listen, I've known Cheryl for a long time.
- 17:17Speaker 2: She's a really fun lady, loves to have a good time.
- 17:19Speaker 2: We've never had an experience with a negative report of
- 17:22Speaker 2: her of any kind.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Never happened.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Just to be clear, tough and is getting sued.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Tough and is getting sued.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Okay, yes, so I don't know.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Greg is like the event was over. I went over
- 17:35Speaker 2: to introduce myself to her. She's a bit older than
- 17:38Speaker 2: I would have loved, is what he's sure. But two
- 17:41Speaker 2: weeks later we went on a date to Jasmines. Jeff
- 17:44Speaker 2: told me that she had a lot of connections in town,
- 17:46Speaker 2: and I'm trying to move up in the corporate world,
- 17:48Speaker 2: and so I thought that would be fine. But we
- 17:50Speaker 2: went on a date to Jasmine's. I show up in
- 17:52Speaker 2: jeans and a button down shirt. She came in a
- 17:55Speaker 2: very inappropriate outfit. I brought a picture. Oh no, no,
- 18:01Speaker 2: the outfit is not inappropriate. It is it looks like
- 18:07Speaker 2: an evening gown. Sure it is not inappropriate. If you
- 18:11Speaker 2: were going somewhere very very, very nice, this would not
- 18:15Speaker 2: be considered even too dressy. Apparently Cheryl's worked in fashion
- 18:20Speaker 2: her whole life, and she says it's amazing that a
- 18:22Speaker 2: twenty two year old accountant is telling me what's fashionable.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Jasmine's is a five star restaurant in the city of Denver.
- 18:29Speaker 2: He was underdressed. I was dressed appropriately. We see the picture.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Even Kevin Ross is like, what about this feels inappropriate
- 18:40Speaker 2: to you?
- 18:41Speaker 4: Right right? We see a picture not inappropriate.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Greg's like, well, I thought it was inappropriate to like,
- 18:46Speaker 2: I show I guess cleavage, That's what he says, to
- 18:50Speaker 2: show I guess cleavage.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Uh, He's like, this was a platonic date and I.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Just tell is she's showing out of some cleavage there.
- 18:59Speaker 1: But the dress this is completely appropriate it is.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Ross is like, well, you think it's inappropriate for her
- 19:06Speaker 3: to show cleavage? You thought it was okay to wear
- 19:08Speaker 3: jeans to Jasmine's. She wants to get dressed up, go
- 19:11Speaker 3: to a five star restaurant. Who cares? What's the problem,
- 19:14Speaker 3: all right, Judge greg is like, he's like, whatever, it's fine.
- 19:20Speaker 4: He goes.
- 19:20Speaker 2: But dinner went really faster than expected. I tried to
- 19:23Speaker 2: network some She wasn't helpful, didn't have anything. She just
- 19:26Speaker 2: wanted to talk. And we had a bottle of wine.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I had maybe half a glass, she had the rest.
- 19:31Speaker 2: She was definitely buzzed. I got uncomfortable. She started flirting
- 19:35Speaker 2: with me, maybe touching my hand across the table, That's
- 19:38Speaker 2: how he says it.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Maybe maybe even.
- 19:40Speaker 1: What did you think this was? Though?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Yeah, well I think there's an understanding that it is
- 19:46Speaker 2: a platonic date.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Okay, so there's no romance, that's right? Or apparently yes.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Cheryl was like he certainly didn't act uncomfortable that night.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Oh we left dinner. All of dinner was him trying
- 19:59Speaker 1: to work. As soon as you realize I couldn't help him.
- 20:03Speaker 1: He was done with dinner, and basically they go to
- 20:09Speaker 1: this club. And they go to a club.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yeah, like a place it's an hour and a half
- 20:13Speaker 3: drinks and or dancing basically.
- 20:16Speaker 2: And then she was like after we got there, he left.
- 20:18Speaker 2: He didn't say goodbye, he didn't say anything.
- 20:21Speaker 4: He just left. And Ross was like, all right, what's happening?
- 20:24Speaker 1: Why are we suing Greg Toughan? And Jeff's like, there's
- 20:28Speaker 1: got to be a contract.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Ye.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Jeff's like, I got a contract right. The contract says
- 20:31Speaker 2: the date is three and a half hours. Cheryl's bid
- 20:34Speaker 2: for Greg was four and fifty dollars for the date.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Three and a half hours long. He left an hour early.
- 20:42Speaker 3: That comes to twelve hundred and fourteen dollars.
- 20:44Speaker 2: That's basically what he's saying is an hour of that
- 20:47Speaker 2: date is worth twelve hundred and fourteen dollars. And he's like, well,
- 20:50Speaker 2: why are you suing and not Cheryl because it's my charity,
- 20:54Speaker 2: it's my contract. Cheryl paid me all her money and
- 20:56Speaker 2: his requested no refund. She wants that money to go
- 20:58Speaker 2: to charity. What I'm saying is is that if he's
- 21:01Speaker 2: not going to follow through on what she paid for,
- 21:05Speaker 2: then he needs to pay me back because he signed
- 21:07Speaker 2: a contract that he would do it, right, we have
- 21:09Speaker 2: the contract.
- 21:10Speaker 4: It's extensive.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So Cheryl's like, look, I'm lucky enough to be a
- 21:13Speaker 1: means of this money. It's all relative.
- 21:16Speaker 3: But it did hurt when he just went to the
- 21:18Speaker 3: bathroom and pieced out and come on to Yeah, that's right.
- 21:23Speaker 3: So the contract clearly states all this two hours of dinner,
- 21:27Speaker 3: hour and a half of drinking and dancing at this place.
- 21:30Speaker 3: What does the contract state if you don't if you
- 21:33Speaker 3: is there anything in places as to what you owe?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Is you agree that you will do this? There's no
- 21:39Speaker 2: breakage of it, right? So Greg's like, well, wait a minute.
- 21:42Speaker 2: We went to this bar. I had a beer, she
- 21:45Speaker 2: was taking multiple shots. She was drunk. She started dancing
- 21:49Speaker 2: all up on me. She tried to kiss me. I
- 21:52Speaker 2: got very uncomfortable.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Cheryl gasps like like like I do declare.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Gasp like I would never do that. Thing is made uncomfortable.
- 22:02Speaker 3: I'm not going to sit through our abuse just because
- 22:06Speaker 3: of a contract.
- 22:07Speaker 2: He said it was better for me and for her
- 22:09Speaker 2: for me to go to the bathroom for a couple
- 22:11Speaker 2: of minutes. When I got back up from the bathroom,
- 22:13Speaker 2: I saw her. She was dancing in this three way
- 22:16Speaker 2: sandwich with a couple. She was in between this couple
- 22:20Speaker 2: dancing on them. So I took off. I told Jeff
- 22:23Speaker 2: what happened, Jeff said, Jeff said, Jeff said, he didn't
- 22:28Speaker 2: tell me what happened. I called him when Cheryl complained
- 22:31Speaker 2: to me, and then he told me what happened. So
- 22:35Speaker 2: Ross then says, what's your policy on inappropriate behavior? And
- 22:40Speaker 2: Jeff says, it's that you report it right away and
- 22:42Speaker 2: we'll deal with it. And Ross says, show me that
- 22:45Speaker 2: in the contract. He says, it's not in the contract.
- 22:48Speaker 2: We didn't even think about it. This has been done.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Can think about it? Well, he said, this has been
- 22:52Speaker 1: done in this community forever.
- 22:53Speaker 2: We've never had an issue of any kind, and so
- 22:56Speaker 2: we've never specified it in the agreement. Ross is, like,
- 23:01Speaker 2: you specify everything else. Why didn't you specify what happens
- 23:04Speaker 2: if you believe that you're uncomfortable? And he goes, we
- 23:07Speaker 2: just never had that problem, Boss, Ross is ready to rule.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Toss is a hard one.
- 23:12Speaker 1: This's a hard case. Something to talk through. My thoughts.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Please do.
- 23:18Speaker 3: One.
- 23:19Speaker 4: You gotta you gotta.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Think worst case scenario, just because it hasn't happened before.
- 23:24Speaker 1: You have to you're bringing people together.
- 23:30Speaker 3: That have been on someone that had his shirt off
- 23:36Speaker 3: and saying go out and have drinks and then go dance.
- 23:41Speaker 1: The fact that something like this hasn't happened before is
- 23:45Speaker 1: pretty impressive. Pretty impressive because people listening.
- 23:48Speaker 3: When alcohol gets involved, people do weird things, especially, so
- 23:52Speaker 3: I'm surprised that they didn't.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Have it in the contract. I think you gotta have
- 23:56Speaker 1: it in the contract.
- 23:57Speaker 3: So even though the contracts that you would do for
- 24:01Speaker 3: X amount of time, does a contract state that you don't.
- 24:04Speaker 1: It's not in the contract that you have to report anything.
- 24:08Speaker 1: They just want you to.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Yeah, there's nothing in the contract.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I don't think he owes any money. I would be
- 24:14Speaker 3: very surprised if Judge Ross gives him any money because
- 24:17Speaker 3: the money is going to going to UH charity. She
- 24:21Speaker 3: doesn't want any of the money back. This is really
- 24:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I would be pretty disappointed if he owes money. The
- 24:30Speaker 1: Gavil rules in favor of the defendant.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Ross gives a lecture on what it means to be
- 24:35Speaker 2: taken advantage of or to feel uncomfortable, and that there
- 24:39Speaker 2: is no excuse for that not being in the contract.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Had there been something in the contract to that regard,
- 24:45Speaker 2: then he could have gotten some money from the defendant.
- 24:47Speaker 2: But because that's not in theresa he said, he said
- 24:51Speaker 2: or he said, she said, situation, and there's nothing you
- 24:53Speaker 2: can do.
- 24:54Speaker 1: This guy should write a better contract and he will
- 24:56Speaker 1: in the future.
- 24:57Speaker 4: There you go, There you go.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Good case case, one of my favorite cases. How about that?
- 25:02Speaker 4: A lot of fun, man, We have something for everybody.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Bachelor auction. You think we should have for date? The
- 25:08Speaker 1: Hamewark raise mind you going up there? I'll go up there. Listen,
- 25:13Speaker 1: I'm down. Three hour date, three hour date, an hour
- 25:15Speaker 1: and a half of drinks and dancing. Yeah, I'm dancing.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I'm out on that's a that's weird. I don't like that.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I don't like that at all.
